And this may sound controversial, but when I hear them openly talk about how they want to succeed from the country, my thought is, yes, that may be the way to save our country. Could be. It could be. I am more inclined to think that what is happening is in these you've got a group of right-wing billionaires and special interests, largely the fossil fuel industry, but other polluting industries. And billionaires that they have made, who are trying to who have over the last 50 years in response to Lewis Powell's memo, have decided to take over the United States. And the way you do that in a democracy is you get the majority of the votes in the bodies that have power. In this case, that would be the Senate. So how do you seize control of the Senate? Well, there's a bunch of states where media is really cheap. Montana, Wyoming. You get these low population states and you can buy radio and television stations for cheap cheap. You could buy a local newspaper's cheap cheap. And so over a 50 year period, what they've done is they've gone on a binge of building every single state now has a state policy center. There's a state policy network. This is all funded in part by the kochs and other people like them. The whole billionaire billionaire network. And they have convinced people in these red states that their identity must be Republican. They have branded a whole bunch of things that people view as positive values as Republican. I think the solution is not to let go of them to separate ourselves from them because frankly they'll then come into the blue states and try to just replicate their success in the red states. I think the solution is to bring progressive media into the red states, is to fight them at the level that they've fought us. And flip a couple of these in the Midwestern states in particular and maybe even southern states. I think Georgia is on the verge of it. I think Texas is on the verge of it. Flip them from red to blue. And the way you do that is by changing their media landscapes. You've heard this rant before. Yeah, sure. I'd like to make one other point. Bernie Sanders was interviewed last night on Alex Wagner's program. And he's just a new book. And he made a point that I think bears repeating, he said that he has been to every state in the country and spoken to many, many, many people all over the country. That nobody in the country is in favor of corporations ripping us off, killing us, transferring our wealth to them, they're just very mad about it. And somewhat nihilistic and they don't really know how to fix it. And he pointed out this is why we got Trump as president because Trump told the truth about the problem during the campaign, but then made the problem worse as president. Yeah. And as you point out, the problem is that people are listening to false information and they're being convinced that their solution is to vote, not for the people who are trying to help them, but for the people who are trying to kill them. He used to be a San Bernadino County probation officer. He was convicted of murdering his wife, 39 year old Debra Marie Crow. McNeil. And our unborn child, Samura. In Highland. This is out in San Bernadino County. Back in 1997. He was convicted in the year. 2000. He got a long prison sentence, of course. The year 2000 Sony 2021 years ago and Well, what surprised us and upset us is that The governor had had commuted the sentence. And next was for this to be reviewed by parole people, and apparently that was done. There was even a scheduled release date, but then it didn't happen. And then it went down the black hole and we find out just a couple of days ago that apparently, Newsome has decided do not grant the release. Of Rodney McNeil. And looking at his order. I think the hint is right there. In one of the first sentences, Deborah Marie Black Crow. McNeil Citing her Native American background seemed to be a very important card played in this woke world. To make Newsome decide He's not gonna let McNeil be released because he cites in his order. Thebes background of domestic violence, particularly against Native American women. So just getting murdered. Isn't enough. Well, I remember we had the daughter. Of Deborah Marie McNeil on this show, and her name was Shan't Tell Hayes. She is the stepdaughter of Rodney McNeil. And she talked about how the innocents project and working on Rodney McNeil's case referred to her mother is a white woman when, indeed she does have Native American heritage, and I think that got played up back in November to the point where I think It looks to me in reading Nuisance letter That was a definite factor in his decision to not parole McNeil, but we we have Stephen, That's great because of it sends the murderer back to prison. When I was called on Saturday morning about the computation being reversed by the D A's office, Um we were credited kind of wholesale Lee camp I was Johnny can and some interesting work I had done behind the scenes. The initial hearing last year was two person panel and the panel was tied. One voted to release and one voted to not release it went to the full board of commissioners. The pole commissioners. In San Bernadino County, had been doing interviews about McNeil in which he was revealing that McNeil was not a model prisoner. He had been selling Carolyn in prisoner he would have a cell phone in a little bit of a criminal enterprise going on behind bars. Well, when I finally got the public records request back the form that came back show that McNeil had no violations in prison, and he was basically a model prisoner. So I'm thinking well, ways. Why is the corrections office telling me that Mikael to model prisoner No violation to speak of? But Jason Anderson is out there, saying that guy is basically a bad dude. He's doing stuff in prison. He's not reformed. He's been doing all these other crimes. So when I notified the Dean's office, I said, I want to make you Aware of something that the state corrections office is giving informs that show that the man has had no violations in prison. The Dean's office is like, well, that can't be Because the testimony shows and then they finally put together they went holy crap. They think that was what the governor was reading. Was the form that had been given to him by the Corrections Department, suggesting that they're not suggesting that putting right here in print that makes Neil had no violations. He was a model prisoner, and it just showed a list of his transfers around different prisons over the last couple of decades. So now. They're like what's going on here? Why is this form coming from the Department of Correction showing this? But the transcript from the actual parole hearing that provided Intel from corrections officers say that he was not a model prisoner and that he was breaking rules behind bars. So when they put that together, then we're able to also include that in the lobbying efforts with the governor's office, but come to find out it looks as though the governor's office may have been reading that form.

"Today renting something just a little bit different I am joined quote unquote by Jack Wilson. And for Jack and I today is her birthday. Happy Birthday Jack. Happy Birthday Scott. So we're going to talk today. A about connecting the dots human-to-human and and this birthday discovery. The the fact that we share a birthday was kind of a surprise. Both of US given that we've known each other for over a year and have collaborated on a lot of things. Kind of came out accidentally. So maybe I'll let you tell that story and connect the dots to our tip today. You would think we know each other and we would tell other people that we know each other fairly well but then to be surprised when you were sharing sharing with me about your goal on running you know. What was it. Three times iron man's this year and to have the ten times and then to have the first one done by your birthday and you you said your birthday was February third and that's how I had the Aha moment. Wait a minute. That's my birthday and it instantly. Got Me thinking why. Why do us who he claimed to be these great sales professionals. Who Care Deeply? How did we not know that man that Kinda prompted me to reach out and say let's talk about that. Let's let's give a tip hip about creating better personal relationships and sales professionals and not just better relationships with your prospects but with your customers with your network work as a whole and I think one of the ways we could do that. It's such a simple little thing but remember the last time we sent out an email that you're like. Hey Hope you had a great weekend Scott. Well if you hope that bad find out stop hoping and just ask so. Try this small little adjustment in your outreach. Instead of saying I hope you had a great weekend to try Scott. What did you do this weekend. Or how did you celebrate your birthday in. Those questions are going to get more specific answers. That will help you drill down into knowing that person person more deeply and it's that information and that can activity that allows you to add a real differentiator to your work and I actually hate the word differentiator because I think think it's more of a difference maker because you start to make a difference in their experience both professionally and personally and you make a difference in your whole self and how you present yourself as a sales is professional. How many people's birthday do you actually know without getting the reminder and you go oh no I forgot I. I should probably send them a note so like do better at keeping your own personal internal Rolodex about when important dates are important information. I'll share a really quick story. I had a ride along with a manager and I was always terrified of ride alongs and my boss set me up really good because it was a skip level ride along and he said he's going to ask ask you about your best customer. So do your homework and I met with that director and had all the details in the stats about the relationship. So he said why are they your best customers at all. I I love the contact. There we get along so great. We've got a great relationship. He said great to have kids. I said Yeah two kids. Well how old is like ten ten and twelve. What are their names.
