Delta Variant Arrives in Wuhan

"China is confronting its broadest cova. Nineteen outbreak since corona virus. First emerged there in late. Twenty nineteen but the delta variant spreading to places that had been virus free for months including the original epicenter of wuhan. Delta has broken through the country's virus defenses which are some of the strictest in the world and reached nearly half of china's thirty two provinces in just two weeks while the overall number of infections more than three hundred so far is still lower than kovic resurgences elsewhere. The widespread indicates that the variant is moving quickly. It's the biggest challenge to china's strategy since the virus was first detected in wuhan the central chinese city that saw the world's first lethal outbreak. The country's strict antivirus measures which include mass testing as soon as a case appears aggressive contact tracing widespread use of quarantines and targeted lockdowns have crushed more than thirty previous flare ups over the past year. The arrival of the more infectious delta variant however is testing even that approach. The new strain may be exploiting an easing off in masking and social distancing in some places since much of the country has been cova d- free for months that along with increased travel for summer vacation created an environment where delta could gain a foothold. China reported ninety nine infections on monday including forty four. Who tested positive but have no symptoms. Later in the day seven more people were found to be infected in wuhan plus another in beijing by number of cases. It's the biggest outbreak since a flare up and obey province in northern china and january. When two thousand people were infected the broad spread is even more concerning given the rise of cases in the highly protected capital and in wuhan who's virus free status has been a source of pride and china

Why Autor Micah Wilder Was Threatened With Excommunication From the Mormon Church

"Monkey. You were saying earlier. That as you're going through this process you think anybody are thinking. Well okay Maybe i can help reform Mormonism from within whatever discovering is true and the mormons that you know they revere the word of god so they should be good with this At the same time of it doesn't work out that way. When did you get the phone. Call you or you have call elder wilder. When did that message come through. Did give us the background there. Yeah so what led up to. that is after. I'd come to this. saving faith. In revelation through the book of hebrews at the mormon church was not what it claimed to be I had actually publicly professed in front of about forty or fifty mormon missionaries. My new found faith. In jesus christ so as a missionary whose concluding my two year mission trip i was supposed to stand up and share my testimony in my testimony had radically changed from the beginning of my mission to the end and so i actually publicly professed that. I believe that jesus was all that i needed that. I was saved by his grace and not by works. And i now new for the first time in my life that i had right standing with god and the forgiveness of my sins through the shed blood of christ and so as a result of that public testimony my mormon leader ended up calling me and said we need to. We need to chat and so that was when the two of us went into a meeting and we talked for about three hours. And i very candidly shared with him. The things that i had been reading in the bible that i come to know that salvation was independent of the mormon church of any religious institution but totally dependent on christ alone told him that i no longer needed the mormon prophet or any earthly man to mediate between me and god that there was one god and one mediator in that is christ and so all of these things I came forward To him and he responded by telling me that. I was filled with the spirit of the devil And i was being deceived by satan and then he threatened excommunicate me in my mission was terminated. Three weeks early and at that point then is a twenty one year old Mormon missionary was put on a plane and sent back to utah and had to face my family and my

Charlie Kirk Says COVID-19 Is Not the Leading Cause of Death

"The right thing to do. How big of a threat is the chinese corona virus. Well every single day in the united states according to data that is publicly available as of two thousand nineteen one thousand eight hundred people die of heart disease. Why don't we lockdown burger king mcdonalds and wendy's and not locked down businesses of people that are trying their best to get by in fact. Why would we lockdown gymnasiums when people are actually literally trying to get healthy by the way this is daily. Let me just reinforce this. This is daily. One thousand eight hundred people die. Every single day of heart disease one thousand six hundred forty of cancer four hundred seventy by accident four hundred thirty of chronic lower respiratory disease. Four hundred ten of stroke their three hundred thirty of alzheimer's and now cova deaths are below three hundred twenty four. In fact yesterday there was seventy one confirmed cova deaths. Seventy one confirmed cova debts. And if you look at category by category last year included zero to seventeen years old three hundred and forty people died involving with one thousand nine hundred and alex berenson says that that is almost immeasurable. Statistically fifty one thousand two hundred thirteen people died from all causes from ages. Eighteen to twenty nine two thousand four hundred ninety three people died from coverted and ninety six thousand six hundred twenty five from all causes from thirty to thirty nine years old. Seven thousand one hundred forty five people died from cove in nineteen allegedly and one hundred thirty seven thousand people eight hundred forty nine from all causes you go category to category. Do you know that cova was not the leading cause of death for any single age group including last year including eighty five years and older including seventy five to eighty four. It was not the leading cause of death for any category or any group.

Maybe you can describe to me what we're looking at Now we're looking at a beautiful breakfast. That has window boxes flowers beautiful ironwork and it bears no relation to what it was like when i volunteer here. I mean the street was nothing like it is today so it was a lot of working class people and for people living in houses world houses that have been broken up that were single family homes in the nineteenth century. Broken up into single-room-occupancy. With bathroom a bathroom on the hall. That's right. there was a bathroom down the hall. It was a run down. Old ramshackle buildings. So i would i pass by here. I don't know how many times because i was frightened really to go to work to volunteer. I didn't know what i would do. I didn't know if i had any qualifications. I didn't know what what i would find. Really sort of terrified. And i didn't know whether who i would be seeing what i be seeing people people with as pwa's which of course that's what we refer to. When waste i started volunteering. I've got really really good. Not Touching things also like I have to take my dog out to walk and go to the bathroom a couple times a day and I've gotten to the point where I can open and close doors with the dons leash like I'm not even touching things I just will swoop it around and I'll open the door and then I'll close it and then when I don't close like successfully that's like a lower court in my day. "Douglas Adams it's my forty second episode. So what better thing to talk about than to talk about Mr Douglas Adams? Douglas Adams had a career on doctor. Who before going on to write Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy which his one of my favorite books of all time probably Douglas Adams was the script editor on seasons. Seventeen and he also wrote a couple episodes like seep death Pirate Planet and Shahdeh Shehadeh animated and released. So that's a cool thing at checkout. It's on the BLU rays and other media platforms and such and I would recommend watching it and I would also recommend listening to the big finish version of it featuring Paul mcgann the eighth doctor instead of Tom Baker the fourth Dr. Douglas Adams was one of those guys that he was smart. He was funny and when he wrote Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy in all of its forms. Radio play novel. What HAVE YOU? It just popped off the page which is hilarious and for me for a book to be equally insightful and hilarious was kind of a revelation and that's one of my favorite books. It's also really short. Douglas Adams famously did not really like writing that much and had to be locked in a hotel room to finish the second novel restaurant at the end of the universe and I just find that Hilarious as a not quite successful author myself. I find the idea of Douglas Adams. My favorite author have you do be forced to write a kinship with that but forced me to write. But that's why I have this podcast though so I can. I can get my ideas out somehow but w tie to doctor who is Something that goes through the show since he worked on it in eighties. There are references to Arthur Dent in the tenth doctor's time the seventh doctor makes a paraphrase of a line from hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. Douglas Adams also never met an idea that he didn't like to use at least twice he was going to use an idea that later became the universe that everything doctor who but instead it became life the universe and everything is third book. Shahdeh parts of that became dirk gently simplistic detective agency so he. He's got a bunch of stuff going on that if you know if he can't use it he's GonNa use it another and I appreciate that about. Douglas Adams also That he he was fond of his ideas. He was more than willing to use them. Come hell or high water but I really enjoyed Douglas Adams. One of the few regrets I have in life is that I had an opportunity to meet Douglas Adams at something some time ago in the past and I didn't for whatever reason and of course Mr Adams has since passed on but I would have really loved to have shaken his hand and just let them know how much his writing affected my life in a really positive way and Talking about Douglas Adams and how much I enjoy stuff is is really Cathartic. It's just great to think back on all of those moments reading his stuff and just laughing out loud. I don't know that I'd ever experienced a book. That just made me roll around on the floor laughing literally before. That was a thing that people said. I just reading hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy for the first time for me was very much transformative it. It really made me into an absurdist I would say and I I appreciate the setups. Take on so many things in those books. I've really enjoyed it and I I also enjoy the indelible mark. He left on doctor who the Zany nece added to doctor. Who and the insight at the same time being humorous. I think it was great I missed greatly. I gotta get back to reading And another thing one of these days the last book which was completed by a different author but the last book that he had started writing before he died. One of these days. I'll I'll I'll get back to that I'll read it. It's just hard because after I finish reading that that's it. There's there's no more so I'm kind of hanging onto it for a rainy day. But you done this Adams. Great author if you haven't read his stuff. I highly recommend reading stuff. If you haven't watched doctor who episodes I recommend doctor who episodes city of death You might remember Jon Allen. I talked about city of death while ago. And it's it's one of those classic classic episodes. It's good stuff. Shadow is also one of those talked about episodes as people wishing that had been completed and now with the animated version featuring Tom Baker it has been completed. So that's worth checking out right. They're thugs Adams. He is definitely missed bad day at a day-to-day that's actually not true. At all I had one bad moment today that stuck with me and that I allowed to permeate the rest of my day. It's just an interaction with a colleague that I was hurt by a little bit and instead of letting the person know. Hey you know what you just did there that that was kind of hurtful and I. I didn't appreciate that I just let it fester and I let it stew and that's never thing but I also let it get to me and it happens. It happens to everybody. You know we all have those times that something just hits you wrong. Something just hits you in the wrong way and it just gets is India and it's hard to get out hard to get out of your head. I've given many people advice when they're having bad day or just sat and listened to them when they're having a bad day and you know tried to comment tried to get him to think about positive things. Things are great for four. Things are looking forward to so. I have all these like platitudes. That can give to people. When they're having a bad day that I can say. Hey you know what? You're looking forward to what something you really enjoyed last week. That anything but of course when you're in it when you've got that thing in you that's bugging you. It's really hard to remember those perhaps tidbits of wisdom that you would share with another person and apply yourself but instead of holding onto this this little annoyance from the day any longer. When I'm doing I'm talking about it here on this podcast. Which is one of my favorite things to do. I really enjoy talking. Everybody I it makes me feel really good getting things out talking about my favorite stuff. Things are looking forward to and also. I'm reminding myself of the things that I would say if I was listening to myself if I was sitting down with me and and hearing what I was saying I would say things like well you know. Be kind to yourself for the rest of the day. You get yourself a treat you know. Maybe think about something that you've really enjoyed over the past few days. Maybe Watch television. Show that you really looking forward to maybe watch the eleventh doctor episode the power of three tonight. Because you've been looking forward to do that for awhile. So maybe I'll do that right after I finish this podcast thirteenth Dr Coat so ordered thirteenth. Dr Coat and I had kind of forgotten that I had ordered it and it arrived the other day and I was like. Oh my God. This is an awesome thirteenth. Dr Coat and I realized that I had in fact ordered it for myself but that means I am very close to having a thirteenth doctor. 'cause play all. I need now. Are The pants emily? Kettles and tells me I'm probably sized ten. I think she's being little kind. I think I may be more of a twelve or fourteen but once I get those pants I will have myself a thirteenth house play and I think about 'cause play the thing I really enjoy about. 'cause play as. I have a really nice seventh doctor cost. I think that's my best doctor who caused play. My second best is my fourth doctor. 'cause play it has a scarf that Catherine knit for me. So it's a very special Kaz play because someone put a lot of work into it for me and that and it looks amazing. The scarf looks amazing. The only thing that makes the fourth doctor. 'cause play not my best. Cows play is my hair and its lack of curls and bonus but with the seventh doctor when I can wear the hat and good but after fourth doctor. I would probably say my eleventh doctor. Purple Coco's play. And then my eleventh doctor. Then my eleventh doctor Tweet coat. Kaz Play and then my twelve. Dr Koss play now. I've been working on a fifth doctor. 'cause plate for a while now but I there's so many elements of that one. That are just gonNa be really hard to find a TV really hard to find the perfect jacket and the perfect pants for that one. And I've always always always always wanted a six doctor 'cause play because it's such an iconic look much like the seventh doctor's question mark jumper the six doctors whole look like something you're never gonna see on anything else except for that character so. I've always wanted a sixth doctor. Cows play one of these days. I'll get that. I'll get that for myself but man. I'm really excited about getting a thirteenth doctor. House play together partially because it is the first time that I will be cross playing doctor which is really really cool. I love that I will have that opportunity kind of that way to say that you know what the perceived gender of the doctor doesn't matter the doctors still the doctor and I just think that that's awesome and I'm looking forward to it. I'm so happy I got the thirteenth Dr Code. Just need those pants now. I got I got the T shirt. I've got pricers. I've got an awesome pair of boots that I also use for my eleventh doctor. 'cause plays just those pants just those pants. But I forgot to say what I really enjoy about. 'cause play in general is that you get to inhabit the physicality of the character that you're betraying you get to like take on persona a little bit and show the world that you love this character and you love this thing in a way that you don't get any other way and I and I really enjoy that about house play. It's the closest that I get to really feeling like the doctor and that makes it cool and fun. That's all for this episode. I'VE BEEN ANTI. This has been positive. Thank you for listening..
