It's it's their i mean. We're we're knocking on winters door. Which is insane. But for all things whether we bring in cody. Wilson denver. Front range weather. But i don't predict it. Nobody does because it's just weird. It's waiting blows all over the place in it. Sounds like that's going to be a pretty accurate wind approach if yes. Oh yeah yeah. I posted on the weather page yesterday. Parts of those. The sangre decrease dough mountains in southern colorado. Friday morning had over one hundred more wind gusts. I saw that is ridiculous that that doesn't happen very often. It doesn't but when when we get mountain waves that amplify over the colorado rockies we can get damaging wind gusts and sometimes that will propagate down the foothills i. there's of their big windstorm in boulder colorado springs a few years ago. That actually costs some fatalities so it does really. It does happen. Yeah you got a little Gusty on saturday but then gay didn't get as bad as i thought it was going to. Bill i went out to the tailgate before the unc game. And it got pretty gusty. They're often southwest before the cold front came through but then the cold front came through. It got really nice. Saturday night and woke up sunday morning to go to church. And i'd put a jacket on it. Felt really good. Yeah well our predictions that only gained any ground on each other. "Which is then ninety degrees across in our southern hemisphere. It is much the same six months later in the corresponding winter of its year on mars. At their winter. Maxima the polar caps extend over a similar stretch of latitude. They do so however equally. The southern one is considerably the larger in nineteen zero three one hundred thirty six days after the winter solstice in the martian calendar february twenty seventh. It came down in longitude. Two hundred twenty five degrees to forty four degrees of latitude and may be taken to have then measured ninety three degrees across in nineteen o. Five one hundred twenty one days. After the same solstice it stretched in longitude two hundred thirty five degrees till latitude. Forty two degrees and one hundred fifty eight days later in longitude two hundred twenty one degrees to latitude forty one degrees values which supposing it to have been round imply for it a diameter on those occasions of ninety six and ninety seven degrees. It was then february twentieth and march tenth respectively of the martian year. These determinations of its is at the to oppositions agree sufficiently. Well considering the great tilt away from us of the south pole at the time and the horizon word for shortening of the edge of the snow it seems from a consensus of the measures to have been some five degrees wider in nineteen. Oh three then in nineteen o five which may mean a colder winter preceding the former date. The cap was still apparently without a dark contour in both years showing that it had not yet begun to mount less has been learned of the northern cap in eighteen ninety six to eighteen ninety seven when it was similarly presented skirting the other rim of the disc a gap occurred in the observations corresponding to the time by martian months between february twenty fourth and march twenty second on the former date. The cap came down only to latitude. Fifty five degrees in longitude. Three hundred fifty two degrees on the subsequent one and for several days after the latitude of the southern limit of the snow was such as to imply a breadth to it of about eighty degrees. The cap was now bordered by dark line. Proving that melting had already set in it cannot however at its maximum have covered much more country than this in view of its lesser extent on february. Twenty four th fair as our knowledge now is of the dimensions of the martian. Polar caps at their maxima. We have much more accurate information with regard to their minima and this too was obtained much earlier that we should. I have known their smallest rather than their greatest extent with accuracy may appear surprising exactly the opposite being our knowledge of our own. It is not however so surprising as it appears inasmuch as it is an inevitable consequence of the planets aspect with regard to the sun when the tilt of the axis inclines one hemisphere toward the sun that hemispheres polar cap was melt and dwindle while at the same time it is the one best seen the other being turned away from the sun and therefore largely from us as well so that even such part of the letter as aluminum and lies low down toward the horizon of the disk whereas slight change of angle means a great difference in size..

So that's basically how he knew what direction swim at. He used a box that was floating in the water. Because basically there's all these trucks and all these cars stuff in water. Uh so the people that were able to get out of their cars and get to the surface were grabbing things to hold onto because he bill didn't get rescued out of the water for fifteen minutes. You can get all these from barrel bourbon and you could even order online at barrel bourbon dot com with that. Today's episode and now. Here's fred mimic with above the chart. I'm fred mimic and this is above. Char this week's idea comes from todd. Mccarty mccarty mccarthy todd mccarty rights on fred minic dot com after listening to your review of deadly bourbon from alabama and the bourbon pursuit episode with hank ingram what effect do various other climates and non. Rick how storage mechanisms have on their way. Bourbon ages absolutely excellent question. Todd todd gets a gold medal for me In a big giant box of nothing. For what i think could be one of the best and most important questions i've ever gotten on above the chart and what we are looking at here folks for the first time in really. Since pre prohibition we are beginning to see a legitimate environmental impact of various areas now. The french would call this tear war. And there's a lot of discussion as whether or not there is terroirs in whiskey. That's this is not the place for that let has basically focus on heat fricken hot temperatures. It wasn't too long ago. That debt linked shared a temperature reading in their warehouse. It was a hundred and forty four degrees inside their warehouse. I say again one hundred and forty four degrees in their warehouse. And so you know what was happening to that whiskey. In that moment it was getting pummeled inside that barrel and so it's getting pushed so deep in there that if they don't have a really good you know structure really could fix barrels if there is not in that whole really tight that thing is going to pop off you know that pressure will completely destroy the barrel Because there is a barometric pressure because alcohol. Obviously you know creates a lot of pressure and heat in those barrels. And i remember when i was in the state of washington weslend and their facilities. He was kinda it was a little. You know it gets hot in washington but nothing like in kentucky. Your alabama is kind of like a little bit like scotland. You little bit more temperate and plus. It's always rainy there. So if you take those two extremes that there's a lot of dampness in washington and it's not as hot and you take that incredibly humid hot weather in alabama. Those are two incredible extremes that are going to have an impact on the whiskey. And so i think that the southern states Like texas alabama georgia. I think that they're going to get if they don't put them in climate control warehouses where they don't allow the Heat or cold to impact them. I think that we're gonna see a lot of new flavors. come out. From these barrels at these as distillers come more online i will say the thing that makes kentucky so special and tennessee so special is that we also have winters here. Alabama doesn't really have a winner. I mean immediate may snow. There may have from time to time. But it's not like kentucky you know. We have ice storms almost every year. We have snow on the ground every year. You know so. Those two extremes make kentucky special where in the process of analyzing what these different states bring to aging whiskey like wisconsin. It's cold there. It gets hot but doesn't get hot like kentucky or taxes so we are just in the beginning phases of understanding. What all of these various climates will do to To the whiskey. But i love this question. Todd i want everyone out there to be like todd and come up with great questions and go to fred. Mimic dot com and send them to me. If i like them. I will read them on the air in do my best to answer the question..

"The un secretary general with that code red for humanity warning more than two hundred thirty experts from six nations now urging a rapid reduction in greenhouse gases. They now predict. The planet will rise an average of two point seven degrees fahrenheit by twenty forty less than twenty years from now a decade before they initially believed bringing more heat waves droughts and fires. They love heat dry. They love wind. California's dixie sporting nearly half a million acres. This fire has been burning for about a month. And it's still nowhere. Near contained in is still ripping through this forest incinerating the town of greeneville last week to surrounding areas still threatened the air difficult to breathe because of the multiple hazards officials say could be weeks before families are allowed to return. So it's code red for humanity that is the takeaway and before you play your clips. I have a couple to before you play yours. The top five takeaways from what's in the report one human influence has unequivocally warm. The planet to climate science is getting better and more precise three. we are locked into thirty years of worsening climate impacts no matter what the world does. We've upped the two degrees to three degrees. That's our new goal and is no longer twenty thirty. It's twenty forty and just finally climate changes are happening rapidly and they're still a window in which humans can alter the climate path. I am hanging on by my fingernails. Well i my understanding. Is that that last thing you said is not in there. That is too bad. We're we're done we're over it's done. We're all dead No you can't. We can't do anything for the next thirty years. We're going to go through some harsh times. But if we do it by twenty forty then we will save the planet. That's that's the way i read. Well i ran into this report which is a little different way of putting the whole thing in perspective. And of course it's done by not a professional news operate was kind of a news operation but it's the heritage foundation. They have their podcasts and they have their day have a news podcast. And it's kind of interesting to listen to us probably a a sober a sober report on on the ipcc report starts off. Kind of normal starts off like amy good mood. Go but then it veers off in a way that nobody else goes. I'm sorry i just have one question is there. Is there an amy goodman report. Is amy goodman in this report. No this is a heritage foundation. They do their own news. Saying and lichen. Amy goodman going one direction. These guys go in a slightly different direction to give you a little perspective. Man it's probably not acceptable to anybody Except maybe you and me. The united nations intergovernmental panel on climate change has a new report out and it's full of dire predictions a summary of the report says climate change is irreversible and that humans have contributed to global warming the summary also states global surface temperature will continue to increase until at least the mid century under all emissions scenarios considered global warming of one point five degrees celsius in two degrees celsius will be exceeded during the twenty first century. Unless deep reductions in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions occur in the coming decades many changes in the climate system become larger in direct relation to increase in global warming they include increases in the frequency and intensity of hot extremes marine heat waves and heavy precipitation agricultural and ecological droughts in some regions and proportion of intense tropical cyclones as well as reductions in arctic sea ice snow cover and permafrost but steve molloy founder of junk science dot com pointed out in a series of tweets that plenty of climate change. Predictions haven't happened. Luoi noted nineteen eighty-seven james hansen predicts global temp three to four degrees celsius higher by twenty twenty twenty twenty global times only point forty four degrees celsius higher and two thousand eight mount kelman jaro snow to vanish by twenty twenty twenty. Twenty only thing melted is the prediction coma. God they could use a lot of help from the curry consulting group on year. productions did veasley clearly. They're not but the point is is that you could do this kind of reporting using that little twist at the end all these reports yet. Nobody does it was good. Yeah i liked that we do. It wasn't just a little a little a little zinger. they're aiming like that little zinger. Ju just a little reality check on these bogus predictions. Someone sent me this link which i had not heard of before called extinction clock dot org and it has all the you should take a look at it. It has all all the predictions So let's see twelve days ago in fact twelve days fourteen hours. Twenty seven minutes should have happened Us scientists these new ice age coming. That did not happen one year ago. Actually two hundred forty eight days nine hours thirty minutes ago. Crash course towards massive species extinction nina fast schiavone vice president for field conservation programs defenders of wildlife quote. Frankly it looks. Like ron a crash course towards massive species extinction in the next twenty years we could you lose one fifth or twenty percent of our species within the next two decades. And she did that. In april eighteenth. Two thousand three way that prediction. And and do you remember that era from our was around two thousand three were all talked about was species extinction and they talked about to an extreme and they talked about it just all the time and i'm always looking back on all this stuff and knowing that the media has been full of crap since back before the cia took over As showed last show. It's almost as though they do. These little trial balloons. Let's try this. Hold on hold on hold on. Let me read you another one before you. Trial a balloon. Two hundred twenty four days ago should have come true from the msnbc documentary future earth. Twenty twenty five. The quote as water levels dropped by twenty seventeen hoover get by 2017. Hoover dam will no longer provide drinking water to las vegas tucson and san diego and it stops generating electricity to los angeles and if nothing is done the reservoir will be hole by twenty twenty one. And that's now is it a dry hole. I don't think so i i. I'm just trying to keep my mouth shut because of all the stupid stupid juvenile things that went through my head. scientists amici's scientists say warming could set off what wide disruptions three years left to stop climate change. That was twenty seventeen and of australian snow by twenty twenty They've had some snow. So that's a great little thing to look at so now they're full of crap and now we have the internet to show. It will make any difference. I don't know no. But i do have three shorty clips from the man behind the scam. Michelman man is ground. Zero of this crap would you. Would you agree. I wish thought was hanson but man is is a good mouthpiece for this and he was with george with anger. It's almost said actor. Yes actor george stephanopoulos anchor with actor george stephanopoulos on abc talking about the report.

"Welcome to true. Mysteries of the pacific northwest stories of strange and unexplained people places and events often obscured by the mist of time. I'm your host kit today. We traveled to oregon's whale cold. Sir francis drake was born fifteen. Forty two by fifteen seventy six. He was the queen's favourite and was directed to sail to a secret location. One only she disclosed to her inner circle the difficulty in determining that location isn't on his return after circumnavigating the world the queen had all his maps and shipped logs locked up to this day. Few of those documents have been released despite this history is revealed that spain had blocked most of the trade routes in jews and that she had found one end of the fabled northwest passage. And that drake was to establish the other end. Meanwhile currently amateur historian. Robert ward thinks drake was on a secret mission to find the northwest passage. And that's why he was sailing so far up the west coast. The idea is drake sailed up the coast until he found something. He thought was the northwest passage. Perhaps a strait of juan de fuca. But what a drake's bay located not far from point reyes california and fourteen other sites that claim to be where in fifteen seventy nine drake spence sixty eight days. He needed a place to make repairs which involve something called corrine. This is where the ship was pulled completely out of the water so that her hull could be made free of worms and barnacles the location of california's point. Reyes for this sixty eight day. Stay and repair of the ship are based on the area called trae bay fit in the maps depiction of the bay where he stayed and a page from the ship's log that listed the site as thirty eight degrees north of and a brass plaque and the description of indians founder but the plaque was declared a fake in one thousand nine hundred thirty six and the fact that the indians lived off. Acorns was never mentioned and that leaves the shape of the bay only but oregon. Twelve kkob also fits the shape of the bay on the map but the indians were described as living in hot. Were partly below ground. When the university of oregon excavated an area and the co. they've found that. Just as described on the page of the ship slog the remnants of the native american hut partly underground near the site. A number of english coins were found that dated back to just before drake had set sail. Also there was a document a firsthand description based on observations of eight of his crew. That stated that they had stopped at forty four degrees north latitude. It would seem that all of the sites that claim to be where drake spent that summer of sixty eight days only the oregon location forty four degrees north latitude which is exactly well. Co has the most real physical evidence of his visit. If you're driving up the oregon coast be sure to stop at the town of deep obey and enjoy the small town hospitality. Drive another mile and a half to quail cove and try to imagine what it was like i francis drake back in fifteen seventy nine but the debate. Over the location of drake's north american stop -rageous on and despite evidence pointing at oregon scale cove it will only be put to rest when we're leases all drake's maps and logs from his trip around the world oregon's waco was researched by ryland anderson and written by his team urban legend riders and produced here at night owl sound studio. "Chemical pulses in the neurons that they use to communicate with other neurons. How does that activity translate into a subjective experience. That's completely mysterious and anti suggestion. Expedience is different for different people. That makes it a more complicated right. I don't know if i agree with that. it's it's hard to know what somebody else's subjective experiences so would re difficult to compare it in different people. That said what i do agree with is if you apply a given painful stimulus to different people they will report. Different levels of pain perhaps different qualities of paint. So it's true that there's a highly variable relationships between the tissue damaging stimulus and what different people report. That's for sure troop. Maybe that's what you were driving. Yeah that's what. I was driving outside a number this longtime ago Slicer company was something medications and obviously one of the difficulties in clinical trials in pain is to get a consistent with sponsors consistent said over sponsors from from the correct and this august measurement problem. That's obvious speed it difficult part right. Well you can you can constrain The situation individuals and they can be trained to give very reliable reports. And if you're using a thermal stimulus so you can accurately control the temperature. There's a fear elite reproducible relationship between the intensity of the stimulus and the numerical rating scale. So that you would use something like a zero to ten scale. Where zero is no pain. Ten is the worst pain you've ever seen. Few wrath forty forty three forty four degrees. Most people say yes. That's moderately painful. I'd give a five as you go up higher and higher however you know in the real world. It's very variable. You never predict what somebody's gonna tell you. say after. They've in like sprained ankle. Or even a broken bone The clinical situation is incredibly variable. So i want to go back to the mechanism And so You hit your leg against something Some sort of tissue damage happens on site and From dat site Information is sent to the frame right that that is the mechanism by which we know something bad as direct and at that point the brains converting that information into some. What exactly happens great. Yeah that's a good question. Well we know we know the physics and chemistry of it. We know how nerve cells work. We even know how they talk to each other right so every nerve cell pretty much is the same in the sense that it has what we call an action potential in action. Let's look at the glazed compared to this which was here and the glazed thirteen forty compared to that eight hundred and sixty four much better much better than the more expensive evacuated tubes. So why would they even make evacuated itunes for higher temperature water air conditioning or trying to heat a house in aspen. Or something like that. You know you. You really need to go up hill without heat because if you go down to category c hold on a second if you go down to category e look at category one hundred and forty four degrees difference between the air and the desired water temperature at huge but with evacuated tube. You get seven hundred twenty six meteors per square foot instead of four fifty two. What you brought up about it evacuated tubes. That's actually where i heard that. They're being used successfully to heat spas in wintertime. Aspen ski areas in colorado sunny days a year even in spite of the snowfall on the cold temperatures. Get a lotta sun. And so that's where i had heard. That actuated tubes. Might hold some promise for us but in temperate climate. It seems like the rules. Change of it because we're never in the daytime. Are we ever colder than fifty rare. That would be category. C well for spas. It'd be somewhere in between but let me show you a different chart. So you're saying it's a waste of money in in the temperatures like los angeles and stuff because you don't need that kind of swing as far as the temperatures. That's what you're saying. It's just.

Because you're in love because valentine's day is right around the corner and that's why you got this. Golden state lava flower now lava. Flower isn't a hybrid. This is just a signature sativa strain and one of the claims to fame and has that its water with snow. Melt from mount shasta at exactly forty four degrees. So it's devoid of any cutting agents. Artificial flavors solvents additives all that kinda shit like that and the other strain that we just went and smoked during the break which is gummy bears. Well it's actually called gumy's and gumy who makes that. This is by diamond cook okay. So companies by diving cut the the origins of this is kind of i. guess a little bit vague I can't find a whole lot of background information on this particular strain but what i did get from the bud. Tender was dead. This was diamond cuts version or a twist on the gummy bear. Strain which was a hybrid. A more of a true hybrid one of those that are Fifty fifty indica sativa combined So there's a version of the gummy bear strain. That is a cross between true. Og strawberry banana and blackberry So it's a triple cross right there. There's another one of them. It is also a three cross of three strains but one of those strange actually has a lot more knee and citrusy flavours to it Although that there are gummy bears are citrusy flavored. This one right here the way that it tasted we were smoking. A i feel like a more lean towards the gummy bear. Triple hybrid of the trojan strawberry banana blackberry versus the gummy bear. Og which is the one is Troje some sort of blackberry kush. There's another unknown strain. But i just know that the flavor profile of how they describe There's something heavy this seems like it's probably more of less of a Just a phenotype of gummy bears to wear like. I said the gino types can be similar. mean you could take any to with the strange right here and cross them together and my buds. Come out looking different than your buds. My buds might taste different smell. Different than earbuds. Even though we use the same parents to make them with The phenotype are always gonna come out. Different ops until you stabilize a strain. That's why some of these strings are number to start with because you know. They're either the year that they made a or the version of that strain. You know what i'm saying right right. It all depends on growth process right all right so Side is it appropriate. Since we've talked about re gifting and all that stuff earlier Is it appropriate for remain to expect the gift on valentine's day and then if so what would be an appropriate gift I guess i've gotten like close. Negroes item stuff stuff woman. Women want you to have you right right right right now. He's never nothing. I mean i guess. I win one but whatever they want to have the time that yatta what they're going to get you right i am and that's the thing about the whereas i get it. Here's the thing. We always accept things in life just because we know that. Sometimes it's not worth the fight. But i think then a game we start to make our spouse believe that is not worth if i it's just like When it comes to gifting. I just always felt as though that although that is you're right that's what happens. We'll get the gift of something that she wants us to have. You know what i'm saying. They for instance. If a woman mind you. They're right when they do this. I'm not saying that women are wrong. They're right but when a woman buys her main some cologne right. She's gonna buy him to cologne that. She likes him to smell. That's how she likes you to smell whatever cologne. She's bought you. If your girl ever bought you cologne she prefers you to smell that scent. Let's say that you have a preference on how you would like to smell when it comes to your preference of cologne and i do. Your preference is not more important than her preference. Some food right. Because it's a gift for you so you would think if you had a favorite alone but she has a favorite cologne that she likes to smell on you if she goes to the store to purchase you a gift the chances of her buying your favorite cologne So what happens is that her favorite cologne becomes your other favorite colome. Got me for no well by yours. I mean like someone who's listening to this who's not trae loan. She gets me that gets put put up. You only wear wearing it at all. You gotta you gotta use the game now. So so you're one of those people who like like like your grandmother bought you a sweater that you didn't like in the you never even wore like when you went to your grandma's house show and looked mamo coupla. And she is bigger time All right so We kicked it off on before we hit the record by with this lava flower by a golden state Interesting thing about this lava flower is that this is probably one of the few strains Idaho this week that you see stable right here in a much more that we don't have out here that we That we grabbed up This is the only one other the charge that i would say is a true sativa or a true indika. Most of these are all hybrids of some. But this one right here is just a straight up sediba. It's a signature strain from Basta cultivators over at a golden state now. They specialize in fresh flower. That's grown on a certain way that they are watered with snow. Melt from mount shasta at exactly forty four degrees so like there's a special that the water that goes into them as actual melted snow from this mountain. What i'm saying. That's all they use to water with The the comparison would be to like. There's pizza places that have popped up in different places of america. they're boasted they. Have you know new york. Authentic style pizza right and some people who know about cooking knows that one of the reasons why it's hard for some restaurants and other places other than new york city or somewhere in the new york city area to recrea- style pizza or bagels for that matter is the water It's a certain mineral level of the water in new york city. That is used. That's the reason why new york city pizza dough at new york city bagels are superior to dell from certain other places right on so yeah right. It's crazy right so some restaurants have to order to recreate that have started importing water buick city tap water new york city tap water has become a commodity for restaurants who want to get it shipped to them do not want the goody wooded trust me eight the do if they want to make the right pizza the bagels of a big. If they're using a goody will and we know to too well about the new york right basically made that comparison just to say that a with this weed and the way that came out if you guys look at Crystals on their look at tricalm.
