"Y'all can still call it. Ask questions so okay. Let's hear this week's question. It is from dunkin facing kevin mrs dunkin from iowa polling ads on titian. And so my question would be. What kinds of things would you like to see if you had a new home. Built installed from attrition. thank you. Oh dunkin i got. I've got your home number now. I just wish you were in my area. So i could call you every time ahead wiring question. I love that you're thinking about this. I wish more electricians thought about this. I always think about when i'm building a house or i would like the deepest possible switch boxes because a lot of these smart switches have a lot of computing that need to fit into the wall plate. So that's my number one thing if you do nothing. Pick the deepest switch box as you can possibly get inada neutral wire. Everyone will tell you. That's also very helpful. But i also think. I feel like you can't go wrong with lucianne. They work even. If you don't have the smarts they're nice light switches. they are a little fancier so it is kind of an upgrade. Yeah that's what i would say out. Let's in more places we're adding so many devices in boxes to things. Like i have a fairly old house in my kitchen counters for example. You know i want. I want a quite plug. Kind of situation happen. Probably in two or three spots on the counter. Yeah what about you chris. You know it's funny. As i was thinking about this like what i what i would look for. What's the right way of putting you can help me with stacy is it's not device deny device specific but the infrastructure. Is that the right word to use right. The infrastructure to where i add or swap things out so your point about plugs is good or smurfs tube in you know what i mean like. What's gonna help me grow as these things evolved because they evolved pretty quickly so not like every time i walk into somebody's house and i see like a big built in cabinet meant for a thirty two inch crtv. I'm like oh buddy. You know what i mean like. It was back in one thousand nine hundred eighty six or eighty nine. Yeah this is amazing but we bought a house in two thousand that had one of those cabinets and it was it was slightly. It was slightly bigger. It was like forty five inch tv. But yeah i gotcha. So you're but these are the things like. I'm not an electrician. So you're thinking about like neutral wires but even just okay. I've built it in so that you can add speakers or you can add. Sensors are you can add. This is it. This is what i've done to help you do that right. And and walk me through sort of what the options are would be really helpful to me. I know that's kind of different when you're buying a house that's not really something. There's not like a flip menu of like. What would you like to add the lutron. Would you like to add this kind of thing. But there are companies like deco which work with builders actually they are designed for builders in the put in these cheap builder grade modular switches. That you as the homeowner you actually just pop those out and you swap them out with fancier switches if you want and there's no wiring evolve like in an ideal world. We'd have that kind of standard box. That has the smarts and everything. And so i literally just plug into that as opposed to having to rewire it myself. That's what i would like in the dream world for that right. Like i've looked at my house was built in seventy three and so i've i've attempted to switch lights which is and opened up and been like. Oh i don't know what's going on here. This doesn't match anything. That's going on anywhere else right now so like just making it setting me up so that i can go through and add things or take away. Things is what. That's what i'm looking for. Also label the panel. Everyone has a breaker box. When you install that label everything accurately. Because like i'm switching my power on and often stall things in my house was built in nineteen sixty nine and i had to go through and map all that out myself but it's nice if it comes pre map for you. So duncan i appreciate that. You're thinking about us in smart home crazy people and keep doing it. Thank you all right. That's it for this. Week's iot podcast hotline. "Company. I don't know if he's charging me. A monthly fee have kind of a one time payment. I'm not sure there's like a monthly recurring cost or anything like that. I don't like what mean like. He's just charging you one time and then he's like you're you're his forever like shop to pay him. If something goes wrong schedule guys. Come out but i don't have like a month. It fee with him. Oh so how much did you pay. Twenty four thousand okay. So twenty four thousand four. How many computers and everything probably like four to six computers including tv's twenty six thousand six ts server wiring cable drops Son of sound system All that stuff did. Did you decide on the tv's and the like monitors and everything they're the ones who kind of like decided all that for you He kinda decided it. Forming the senate tomatoes. Like do you like this. It looks good at a input in I wanted my tv's. I wanted forty five inches above the patient and then fifty five inches in front of the patient so the bigger ones In back is a forty five inch. Tv above them in fact. That's a really good combination. Don't like nymex above them. I go my car. Says seventy five inch. tv above me. That's kind of the sizes i chose. Tv's cashing ask you. What what with the monitors and everything like that. What brand were they for computers. Samsung can actually put my quote. Because that can get like I guess they can get pricey depending on which one you you kind of wind and everything like that right. i heard. I don't know if you heard it but there was a guy on the podcast who just has a laptop. He's an orthodontist and he has like a rowley desk right and he'll just transfer that laptop to every single place nice and his and i guess they might work for some people right especially on a budget. Yeah but that'll work. I mean raw bone on the budget. So let's see my computers there about a nine hundred dollars each intel core Generations with windows ten. So yeah smell contingency. Yeah i mean. Yeah i mean. It's not like rolling and laptop everywhere. You know what i mean but at the same time it's still it's not like having mac books in your computer in your off time they do. Add up So my friend desk ones around. I think thousand and i went around eight tonight. Hundred at awesome and in one of the last questions like how has crunch time. Because you're a week out. How is this. i guess. Pivoting transitioning changing or affecting like your personal life. Do you see it or not really not too much so what we do so we love my last night. We've been like creating a go staff so we've been When all the logistics of the day is done we go paint in the practice Three have done at custom murals. And just kinda doing something. Different than entering emails financing with the bank is the kind of the grant stuff going out into to create in. So we've done together says ex have been pretty fun to to the practice Paints a mural wall an-and ideas for another one Just like a creative outlet that we really enjoyed in this kind of crunch time last week. Can't you when you mentioned doing financing with the bank like what do you mean so yes i met So basically when you'd like finance with the bake they'll draw for your build There's one draw to draw and then probably third so about a forty percent eighty percent last twenty something like that Scientists means like going to bank Need a draw one hundred twenty thousand dollars. Can you put it in my bank. Any check my builder and give that to them in some kind of getting all your accounting narrow So you know you're within. Your budget is highly heaven. An excel spreadsheet as crazy oriented. So you can always have reference sheet of. Where am i at my budget. How much room do i have. What's my room. Yeah you do that. You create yourself the excel sheet. Oh yeah i love excel. It would be amazing if you could like you know what i mean. We can see that template pricing but just like the template for uglier at. Let me what i'll do is once it's finally done and i come like budget for everything that even this week was like i need to buy solar shades for thing i needed some payroll so i can add all that into it and kinda put my budget overall of like what i donaldson posted about ordering supplies Into so that was helpful but this is basically like my chairs. How did i break it down. Which my ti in this tab to. It's all puts them together once rope in. I'll put it on the group in sugar template for people to see what A years worth of budgeting dumped out to be. Because that's smart to like. I don't think there is any bank. That just says like all right. Here's your five hundred thousand. Go right they have to do the draws i think. Yeah yeah the senate she check on it So from my bank standard like initially like my budget is around. Three hundred twenty thousand. And i wanted to twenty five thousand equipment. It can everything almost ten bullet points of my final number going to six hundred thousand so that was my like small snapshot the bank just so we can see where we're at and then the big one of everything For the practice. Gotcha gotcha awesome awesome. So that's going to be good to see so then what's going to happen next. What is next so right now about to go back to the bill to make sure things went smoothly to looks good. They are big electrical date. So we got all the lights in there hanging. All these really cool custom-made lights we have And so we'll make sure that looks good can prepare for tomorrow's more inspections with the city tomorrow the next year we're asked them in the occupancy by friday so that's my biggest goal is to have my of occupancy by friday if we have that we are good to go man awesome. We're going to be excited. So that means next interview is gonna be when you're when you're ten million people right next interview. I should have more free time taking breath and have some fun. Awesome an awesome. That sounds good. We're excited to hear that. So anybody has any way if anybody follow the journey or anything like that on mitchell side then definitely going show below and check out instagram and his handles. "The the desktop series or one of the macbooks. I whether we're talking intel or M on processor spencer. The ansari foods me. I'm baffled myself. Why would anyone choose a mac mini. I mean the mac mini was an entry level machine into the sub. One thousand dollars genre. Many years ago. I mean the crazy thing about the mac daddy is that you can spend well beyond thousand dollars totally tricking that thing out with as much memory and as much storage and maybe even some better processing power but why i mean. Why would anybody pick a mac mini over the desktop. Amac either in two thousand one and a half inch or twenty seven inch configurations. When you get one of the most beautiful calibrated designed for mac displays that you could possibly ask for at such a premium display at such a non premium price in the total package of the computer. It literally boggles the mind. Why anybody would purchase a mcmenamy unless you are running a colocation facility and you literally don't need displays on your machines. I see no reason for it. Oh i'm gonna go to best buy and buy and ninety nine dollar. Hmi display why. I mean like look if you said to me. Hey keith. I do professional audio editing. And i got this amazing forty five inch curved screens so i could see large analog wave forms and so you need this custom screen. I might say okay if you've got this need for his ultra giant norm. Norma's screen that you're gonna plug it with age report. Maybe maybe but for the vast vast quantity of mac users out there it is silly because the quality of the video output on the mac mini. The resolution is never anywhere as neat anywhere near as sharp as crisp and robust as is on the mac. Now the only the only reason at this exact moment in time in the first quarter of twenty twenty one why somebody might be inclined to purchase on a mac mini overnight. Mac is the m one processor. Which apple has not yet released. In the i mac but it is coming later this year in an all new for twenty twenty one redesigned i mac and which is a good thing because apple is not updated. The chassis of the i in twelve years. What you're going to say benjamin one of the things. I forgot to cover in the news. This week is how it was revealed that keeps them. Cedar is shell for apple and meets with tim cook regular or tongue of i him cook. Listen if i actually had the ear of tim cook. There'd be some things going on. And look i mean here in a news apples making a car in apple's making an augmented reality virtual reality headset. Don't care none of my clients as an apple. Certified consultant are coming. Hey keith wins that apple car coming out. hey keith. when can i get some. I goggles from apple. That make me have really cool. Virtual and augmented reality experiences. None of them absolute zero. My clients are asking me for. When can i buy new desktop. And now you don't want to buy intel desktop because they're on their way out you don't want to buy a brand new version of the old thing going out. But apple's about refresh the entire mac line with 'em one processor so spencer. The only reason why. I can think of why somebody would want a mac mini. Is you want that fast. Super powerful and one processor. You know. I do want to take a detour here because you did actually hit on something. We've we've i think we've covered spencer's question that i i do want to talk about i. I'm fascinated with the idea of the goggles or glasses or whatever. They're going to call him glass just because that's what i all. I know whatever they're gonna any buddy that is working with any of these credible leakers people who actually had a track record of stuff. They've league and then hold on. All i'm talking about is i like i. I'm fascinated by the idea if they can deliver in the same fashion that we heard not hurt that. We have viewed in the movies that that we have seen in various science fiction outlets where we actually have a decent high resolution screen and the the answer on. That actually is not likely the if anybody's going to come out with with a screen. That's going to be good though i will i. I will join you on the whiteside referring of course to apple's fondness for white computers. I i will join you on the white side and say if anybody's going to do it. Lord computers burn century. If anybody's going to do it right anybody's gonna do the full screen displays that i want. It will be apple. But i don't. I don't think they're going to do it though. I don't think they're going to go in that direction. Well into making their own screens once they reintroduced a brand new redesign mac pro aka the cheese grater A year or two ago at this point but the reality of it is those things are so incredibly expensive. The average person's not buying them. Because i think they're like a five or six thousand dollar display that are designed for yoga but mean the glass for these displays. Literally benjamin stand for these displays cost thousand dollars thousand dollars. I think if they come up with a smart glasses we're going to see that in an obscene price point and it still benjamin. Actually what. I'm actually hearing again. Nothing substantiated. I'm hearing in the three thousand dollar range but it's going to be a combination of virtual reality and augmented reality. And then yeah. That's that's way too much. It's it makes facebook's oculus rift hundred dollars look like a bargain basement at this argument. This point men. Crazy steph this is benjamin rockwell and i'm keith. Mc dr mardi. The next TV you buy might be a lot bigger

"Tech co host. Mike snyder is off. Today is eighty new fifty. When it comes to television it might be one of the many themes to come out of. Cas is television makers really want you to go big as usa. Today tech columnist rob pecoraro wrote about tv sales. Were up last year. A lot of that was because we were all stuck at home because of the pandemic and since we spent a lot of our time in front of our tv's streaming shows and movies. We were looking for an upgrade. Its why according to the npd group sales of sixty five inch and larger. Tv's grew from thirteen percent in two thousand eighteen to twenty one percent twenty twenty as a result according to rob's column manufacturers now wanna make displays that are eighty inches the mainstream. I'm used to the days when i had a forty to forty five inch. Tv and that fell giant so upgrading to something in the sixties or even eighty s feels incredible but it makes sense considering how much time we're spending in front of them in light of everything going on the other thing tv makers want you to buy into is eight k. It offers four times. The pictures a four k which was already offering four times the pixels of hd a in short. You get a better picture. That is really what is being offered here. Here's the thing though. Do you need eight k tv set. Probably not right now. There is still a shortage of ak content out there. There are some youtube videos. That are in eight k. You have games on consoles like the xbox and playstation either available now on coming soon the other thing with ak. tv's is. They eat

Durant refused to go on the sign and trade to the net without making sure that the warriors paid a first round pick he could have gone to the next straight out he didn't need to do a sign and trade with the warriors for when he heard that he was just can be traded for the Edsel Russell he said from what sources of told me that's not enough you got to put something else on the deal and so the warriors did they put a first round pick in the deal as well and that's two shows you right now if you are willing to go to the wall and use your leverage you can drive a great bargain we've seen it all summer long across the league of course it's always cool why right now right house and will Kane with differing takes on the chi re KD impact in Brooklyn I am a freak I'm not fully sold on Brooklyn right now what is the expectation for Katie and Karen Brooklyn titles once they join together those are the expectation he was gonna be operated I believe it I believe it also lets it being the favorite is good well he lost discussion if you have a guy by the name of Kevin Durant seven feet tall can shoot from half court with the talent of curry Irving and you don't get a championship auto hit me five open the big be honest you don't it's an over rated mold when Kevin Durant comes back even if it's at ninety percent that's the favorite east Yanis is a problem is gonna be a problem for anybody there are the favorites over rated that's crazy talk that's insane talk there's no way the KD in chi read to the nets is the most overrated move of the offseason now I'm down we on that one will canes ion out for the summer league after taking that needed knee had nine minutes into his first game it's led to questions about his condition and wait as a pro PTI with is given take to the pelicans been concerned about sigh on Williamson's wait it's not even a little bit first of all a man walked around played college basketball at over two hundred and eighty pounds is there than hot stopper from having a forty five inch vertical leap for crying out loud and then you got to take into account the media to or that he had to a door in route to becoming the number one overall pick in the NBA draft and all the explosion the interviews in the obligation stuff like that he's barely had any time to train so I'm not concerned about how he looked in Vegas he was probably some burgers prior to the summit league game it's what happens in October that weight will not be an issue come October my big toe is twenty years old when you're twenty years old you take off twenty pounds in an hour that's true you know he when he goes to camp he's going to look great what I would be concerned with and I think when you would be concerned with is the ferocity with which she jumps and lance can his body all of those things that draw our eyes to him at all times or the things that many on do him as a basketball player in terms of late the career do you share that that I do I completely she and I've I've articulated that on several occasions I don't like the way he calms down when he elevate particularly the docks obviously he comes down with the same level of a rise in the attack the basket and I don't think he has any regard with it because he's but he needs to be because that's a lot of weight to bring down your legs the way that he does I'm just concerned about it all right again from the NFL Melvin Gordon charges running back once a new contractor he wants out all about playing for the charger scheduled to earn just over five and a half million in its fifth year option of his original rookie deal for the coming twenty nineteen season is Asian Fletcher Smith and telling our Adam Schefter that they go down this road because there's been no progress in negotiations Jeff Saturday and I will Kane show on if he was in that seat would he pay the running back I think I would get him in the in the Johnson category with the cardinals I I don't think I I'm I don't think I'd go girly guy I think from my perspective with the injuries and where he's been I think I can come down but I think I could get to that Johnson number it in the way it was structured I think that that makes a lot of sense because here here's the other partner to less go for it or this is me being to Lesko I want the guys in my locker room not only at the running back position but every position to understand when you produce for my football team I'm gonna take care of you and and I know that's what Tommy wants to do he he what a bill Polian was the same way guys who performed in the cold blooded those the ones you want to pay you don't wanna go pay somebody outside his organization so you know he wants to draft and develop if there's a guy on a squad so I think that shows as well as a man the guy has been banged up he's been banged up for your team doing what's been expected from him and what this team is asking to do so taking care of guys like that gives you a ton of credibility in that locker room for long term conversations for the other gases and it'll be a whole lot of got their lot their roster is loaded I mean they are stacked up pretty well he's draft extremely well and that's what gives you problems right is when everybody can hits at the same time it's difficult they can manage it I do think though it gives you a tremendous amount of credibility in a locker room when you take care of your own did James harden make the CP three rush train we explore up next and Serena is one win from a twenty fourth grand slam title details when sports center "He'll fit in really, well, he'll fit in well, anywhere. But what Dianne Williamson brings is a dynamic presence that is John dropping in his ability level. His athleticism is literally off the charts. And I'm using literally correctly. He's got a forty five inch vertical. He can do just about anything. He needs to improve his shooting. But what he gives is New Orleans has a legit shot to have him and keep Anthony Davis. That's a pretty guard. Good night for New Orleans. Okay. So Sean, I want you to come over here with your handy ipad touchscreen and just give everyone a little reminder of what it is. We see in Zion. William. Okay. So we fall in love, and we talked about this all season long. He doesn't want to be known as just a dunker. Right. Good. Because I'm gonna talk about these transferable asset that he will bring to New Orleans, and that is his effort and is played the defensive end of the floor as this play begins. Let's start and look in a dentist by where Zion is zion's here. He showed in the on ball screen action. Now is this rolls out freeze. It look at the distance in which he has to run the ball is already in the shooter's hand. He is in the center of the paint. What could possibly happen here? Of course. We know because we saw this a million times during the course of the season. Safe show shots. You will ever see he covers that much ground here. He is again defensively matched up couple things that want you to look at look down here. Look at the score. This is a twenty two point game with twelve minutes left to go against Clemson. He's matched up just walking back foot notice where his eyes is his eyes are all ball. Handler why? Because what you're going to see is a relentless pursuit of the basketball, and it is a heat seeking missile and you'll get the highlight. Okay. You're talking about a twenty two point leave a blowout game the best player in the country. And he's saying, you know, what? I don't care. I'm going to play defense. I'm gonna give my love to this game. And if you're New Orleans, and if you're Anthony Davis those are the plays. I'm showing him. I'm not showing him the dunks in transition. I'm showing how he plays defensively. The pelicans were in the middle of the NBA this year in points off of. Turnovers and also creating turnovers Zion. Williamson changes that in particular his ability to pressure the ball on ball screen situations and create steel opportunity. I was really well done again that first one is against the team that won up winning the national championship in Virginia. And I'm telling you next year. You know, what I'm calling it? The Gumbo jam the Gumbo votes. And he's already got an eight, and we could try and get that. What is it the trademarked, right? Yeah. Trained ready. Think he's trademark that. Now last night. Of course, almost all of it was about Zion. But last night was the night the NBA lottery went from the mechanism to an event. And there were some other very important things that happened sneaky big news. We start with the grizzlies moving up to number two. Now, they can drive. John moran. Sean how big a deal is that for Memphis. Well, they just got their point guard for the next twelve years and they've got an all star. They've gone a guy that's going to sell tickets because he is a highlight reel. I mean, he is dynamic, and he is going to help out this young organization start trending back in the right direction. If it's a move that could have a lot of other advocation that will get to. Meanwhile, next Niki, big news. The Celtics meant a lot of effort acquiring and protecting draft assets over the last few years and one of their crown jewels with this here's kings pick it wind up being member. Fourteen TJ, how bad is that workout man that really doesn't Bowen? Well, for Danny aines because I tell you one thing we we've said about Danny aines. He's sales used cards at full price..

"Leo, you're asking me about just the NC double A when I'm thinking of all is both the NCWA in the NBA. I believe that any athletes should be allowed to come directly out of high school to the pros. But I also believe that if you come to college you should have to commit to us. Either commit two years or don't come at all in football. They got to commit three. You can't go to the NFL after after after a year or two in college. If I remember correctly, you gotta you gotta serve at least two years three years. You can't play one year and then be eligible for the NFL draft. Can't do it. Samantha game. And I understand that. But what I'm saying to you is it's college basketball and as big time money big time programs. I don't believe don't come at all or come commit two years. That's my belief. Well, personally, I think that without the one that does rules. I in Williamson probably would have been destroyed the NBA. I think that he needed that year that gives his skills better cause you to get a skills better. And he needed that years to be the number one overall pick. But I still believe he would've been he definitely definitely would have been a top ten pick. And I don't believe you would have gotten destroyed. You know, why? Because I think that he has skills comparable to some cats on the NBA, and you know, what they don't have that. He has Leo what two hundred and eighty pounds. With a forty five inch vertical. Leap somebody like, John Moran, and others might have needed that Tom because it is slight frame two hundred and eighty plus pounds with a forty five inch vertical. Leap and you can play. You don't need that. You'll be fine. But I think personally that without that one and done rule. I think I would have been a big performance at the same was back. Then I'm telling you you wrong. That's the most ignorant how Leo now. How do you before I jump while you how old are you? Because you sound young ignorant. How old are you? I'm nineteen. Oh, that's offer. Give you don't worry about your young whippersnapper. You don't know anybody. First of all what the hell are you doing bringing up saying buoy and that happened before you even born? Yeah. Well, I'm gonna say. Leo, leo. Sam buoy being a bus. Sam buoy was drafted in eighty four number two overall bright before Michael Jordan, and you're nineteen..

"So I do think like just because they're calling these close games, and they're lucky to pull out these winds. I do think Virginia's playing decently. Well, it's not like they're lucky their way into winning because it's more of like they outplay team. They almost fuck it up. And then they save it at the end, and that's kind of how they're advancing. But yeah, you're absolutely right. Texas Tech has been the best team in this moment. And I guess that's the point. I want to make is like, it seems crazy. But then it doesn't because it's like both teams are the best, and they deserve to be here in it doesn't sound that crazy to me. I mean when you look at Texas Tech's roster when you look at how they're playing you look out good defenses. Like, of course, they're playing in a title give just because they're jersey doesn't say Kansas or Duke like we're used to see doesn't mean it it shouldn't be that. Crazy villanova. Yeah. Yeah. It's one of those same rights or had to bring the Villanova fans would be mad at him. Bring that up. I think the cool thing about this. That you know, every single, and you know, this every single AAU team the replayed on your life. Every single rec league basketball team church league basketball team YMCA basil team where have you played on? You always see the team that defense championship. Right. And you always look at Wasi. They suck. You know? What I mean, those takeaways a kid like, well, they obviously can't do it. So that's our way to say. This is how we're gonna win. This is the case. I mean crispier build a team on defense. And obviously as your governor has a guy gained pidonia isolation situations score and the same that we have the pack line defense and Tony Bennett. And of course, we have the Andrea hunter and tiger in isolation situation as the score, but it is a defensive minded game. And that's why you look at it over under one nineteen right? And you look at the fact that Tony's probably be handed out in this game. Also get a lot of Tony's in this change again. By the way, the defense wins championships. You team is also the Dunkin warm-ups a Uteem, which would you tell tell. That they team sucks. If you guys are are throwing down windmills and all that kind of stuff. I remember what I figured that out like when I was in like seventh grade, and we're playing teams that are Dunkin warmups, I was should my pants and then by ninth grade. I was like, oh these dudes suck. That's what that means. If you're talking more of well, obviously, suck the dunk contest. You know, like, they'll find the one guy from prairie view AM who has a forty five inch vertical was like can't even dribble on the beige. Like this guy. You bring up a good point. Should we talk about the cause? Or should we do? We have other thoughts on on Texas Tech Virginia. We just keep our final thoughts on final thoughts. Rapid all rep up the games. We saw tonight. We're going to see Monday. Let's just put a bowl on this. And then we can talk about what we really want to talk about. Which is ourselves number one. For me Virginia. I don't know what's going on there. But there's some sort of higher power behind these guys baby. I'm talking to what's going so God's plan. Virginia yourself, Drake. As me. He said it's going to happen. Number two. Auburn an unbelievable run again. I don't want to discredit the fact that Auburn beat a canes team North Carolina team, and obviously human goes down that game. And then to be Kentucky say people I saw people trying to discredit the blue book because I became like sort of a talking point. Then Auburn beat Kansas Carolina Kentucky, and I sell people try to discredit some people. Try to discredit that can't wasn't Vance. Yeah. Kansas wasn't the Kansas that we know in love this year. They kind of sucked Kentucky game was kind of closed Kentucky and went to overtime. Maybe Kentucky put whatever the ads, but dude they beat the shit out of Kansas..

"Question about next next my Such touch. a bad mood. What do you care? What else? Do you want to next question? I'm not going to answering questions. Look at the fear and intimidation in the eyes of Jay Bilas is I turn to him with the intention of asking you a bunch of pointed hard hitting questions, and you will be forced to answer them whether you want to or not, and here's the first you'll be doing the draft this year. And there's all this talk about all these players when we look back ten years from now which player in this draft. Will we say is the best in the NBA? I can't imagine it wouldn't be signed Williamson that he's such a different player. We've never seen his like before on a basketball court. Now that doesn't mean he's the best player you've ever seen. But he he's doing things that players haven't done in college before and it his size, his agility level is balanced. Like, you got a forty five inch vertical and he plays routinely above the rim. It's it with his head above the rim. Not just he plays above the rim. Look RJ. Barrett is going to be an all star player. John Marantz going to be an all star player. I think Jared Culver at Texas Tech is going to be a player at the next level. It's going to be worth watching. But but science the one the question I hear from people is exactly what his fifth. Is in the NBA. He's so dominant athletically that he dominates college kids. He won't be that level of dominant against NBA athletes, and he doesn't have a really obvious natural position. Is that a concern? No. Because he's he can do anything. You put them on the floor. They're going to have to match up with him. He's not going to have to match up with others. And you put them in open floor situations in the NBA, and when they can't load up on him like they can in college. He's going to do even more and he's going to become a better shooter. Like he's making standstill threes, but but you give him any space. He will get downhill on you and and get to the rack and finish. It. Let me give you the next one here because we're onto the Sweet Sixteen give me a team that no one is really talking about that you believe as a real shot to get to the final four. Perdue Purdue is is very very good. Carson Edwards is an outstanding score. He may be small, but he's legit average twenty four game during the regular season produce a very good offensive rebounding team. They don't get the credit. They deserve for for offense. Rebound in over the last month of the season. They've been a much better D. Defensive team as well. You know, produce ranked in the forties and all the analytics defensively something you can point out say they don't guard as well. They have in the last month or so I think mad painters done a fabulous job with this team. They don't have a bunch of household names. Carson Edwards should be household name. It was he and caches Winston. We're the only choices for big ten player of the year. Winston wound up getting it. But the fact that Purdue tied Michigan state for the big ten regular season championship should tell you something about how good this team is and how well coached I watched the big ten play every single night. Painter to me was the national coach of the year with everything they lost from that team last year to come back and have the season. They did speaking of coaches. Here's my tricky one. If coach K does something that no one expects him to do. And as he's cutting down the nets after winning the championship this year. Turn for the world and says I'm going out on top. I'm retiring who's the coach of Duke next year. I wouldn't I don't know who you'd want to have walked that plank. I think that's going to be the hardest act to follow in the history of college sports, and it's not just the winning. It's the winning on television. I mean coach K for the last thirty thirty five years has been one of the premier winners in the game. And he's done it on TV the whole time. And now with social media and the like he's bigger than he's ever been USA basketball. That's going to be a tough actor follow..

"Five. AM time four fifty three. Hello and good evening. Good night, or whatever or went off. No chase. From Acapulco here as we are an hour and a half late. Well, we were here an hour and a half ago. Oh, yeah. We were here an hour before an hour and a half ago. I was at least you were out to dinner. But I will always gotta make sure things work in advance. Gotta do testing and such at these remotes. And I was on earlier today. I was all set. We're said, I was working everything was working. I I'd connected to our studio Keene just as a test because we have the same kind of connection equipment that our network has at our studio in Keene New Hampshire. Everything's working. We're connected. Everything's fine. Right. So we went out grab some ice cream went shopping in downtown accapulco, my ice cream cone was sixty cents. Yeah. It was pretty and there's eighteen pesos to a dollar. So I'm guessing at about sixty cents. Yeah. And I got one of those twisty Oreo. Cookie ice cream Cup things that you probably will pay a few bucks for an imagine it most places, you're TCP wise. Mcdonald's this in we were in a mall, probably going to be a little pricier than some other places roller coaster. Yeah. This thing was a buck fifty ball with a roller coaster a mall with a bowling, Ed. Well, it was actually a mall with people in it too. Which is really? I don't know if you've been to a mall. I mean, many of our listeners younger younger listeners, probably don't even know what these things are in the United States. They they're going out of style. You're going out of business. There's a great there's a lot. It's really kinda creepy, but great article that was written several years ago now, and I forget who who it is that that wrote it, but if you Google old mall pictures or overgrown or whatever. They show you these malls that at one time in their heyday in the nineteen eighties. Yeah. The heyday of there in the eighties. They were huge. Now, they're out of business, and they're literally being taken over by plants being overgrown plants that were in the mall. Have now taken it over it became so unprofitable to run the mall that they just they just laughed. I mean abandoned, and that's an incredible thing to say about structures as large as as they are. I mean, these are big edifices and for people just to to just go away. It's it's incredible. Now, I mean the mall at which I corralled when I was younger back in the eighties. That thing's still around. I imagine it was built somewhere around the time of my birth nineteen seventy-one, but I get old. I I don't know what's going on there. I haven't been there recently. I know it's still operating, but that's down in Florida where the. Old people go. So the, you know, they tend to they tend to frequent those locations of it more than younger people. I don't know how much longer malls have in the United States. Many of them are out of business and the rest of them are are getting desperate. They're open up to clients. They wouldn't have been opened up to before. So there are malls in the US that are taking on colleges like come on. And we got plenty of room any classroom space. We got we got the whole west wing available. You'll be right next to the KB toys went out of business. Oh, no. Come on. So I don't remember what it was called the mall that we were at today. But you know, right in essentially, this is like an older part of Acapulco that we're in right now. I think you're on the goal there. We were in the gold area. They're older and old town town. Okay. It wasn't that far away from from where we are. But. Big city. Anyway, it was interesting seeing people actually in the mall like it was busy. Now wasn't as busy as it could have been because we went you mentioned the roller coaster. This was inside like a fairly large. Arcade. Kind of you know, a bad ass Chucky cheese, basically like they didn't have a characters or anything. Being. I just we didn't go to it. They had bowling in there. They had gigantic video games. So like what you would expect to see at one of these newer video game places in the United States with a big humongous screens where you're probably going to actually we didn't look at the prices at the games. We just kind of were doing in eyeing the. We play them. I could be convinced to go back there with with CAC and they had chicken they had they had flappy bird the arcade game. I couldn't believe it. Right. It's button. Yeah. Like the game that you will lose over and over again on your phone that was a sincere. You may remember this younger users. I'm sure all younger listeners, surely all remember flappy bird, older listeners. Don't. Likely unless you got into flappy bird thing. It was a it was a craze on smartphones a few years ago or years ago. Yeah. But the guy the story behind it was the guy who made it. I forget what it was. Wasn't. It be like didn't expect it to go. Big didn't want the publicity. He ended up pulling it down. I think off the internet. Yeah. If you pull up the flappy bird story, I'm sure there's a there's probably a Wikipedia article about it. He didn't know he didn't realize it was going to become a sensation. It was too much. But game. Yeah. It was just a stupid game. And he just put it out there. Just you know to program something in basically in the game, you press one button the bird, you're controlling moves forward constantly. So you don't get to control anything. But how often the bird flaps its wings, and the more you press the button, the higher up the bird goes. So it's just moving forward at a constant rate. You can't slow his his motion forward downs usually going through a cavern or a series of blockades of some sorts of pipes from Mario the pipes. Ramar? You're like coming out of the top and bottom of the screen, and I doubt he paid Nintendo for the artwork there. But that's what they look like, that's what they look. And and so if you hit the pipe on either side you debt, that's. One hit you're done. Right. And I don't know how many lives the arcade game gives you. This is one of the things I would be curious to go in and find out like what what does it cost to play the flappy bird game because it's humongous like this isn't like a little yet. This isn't like an arcade cabinet like you're used to seeing from gasman nineties, right? This is a huge screen and its vertical. So it's got that kind of. The forty five inch TV turned on its side. Yeah. It's a it's got the cell phone vertical ratio to and I think it might have been competitive. I think there might have been to screen to one another son and how they work that out together. Maybe the character that can go longest or whatever version of space invaders called space invaders. Which had sort of two cannons on it. And you're sort of aiming like, you would and missile command. It was really cool. And it also looked like it had some kind of a two player aspect screens. And the interesting thing about that was the space invaders game was using L E DS. Right. So normally when you play video game, you're seeing just like a CRT screen. Just looks like a a computer monitor style thing. This was LED lights yet made up the screen. So it kind of had this old look to it. Yeah. Very pixelated. Very pixelated. It was humongous. I would say it was even bigger than the flappy bird screen so much bigger. And and so it had that old school look to it. It had the old style looking graphics to it as well. But it was obviously more modern version of this game. So again, we just kind of we kinda went in. We're in a bit of a rash. You had to get to dinner. And so we weren't able to do more than just kind of peak in walk around real fast and see what? I really have to warn the people especially people in the northeast and New England, and you know, the the upper midwest those those people right now it is hot here. Sexy. Right. It's pretty nice. What are you wearing shorts on? And that's it. Yeah. Okay. It's hot. It's no you don't want to be here. I mean, these people aren't spending any time shoveling snow, and I know you people need your exercise the food here. Right now, what's eighty two degrees Fahrenheit eighty hot? It's hot. And you know, you're I know you don't wanna pay half price for food and meals out and things like that out here in the sun. I've just got to warn you, you gotta be very careful places like Mexico this time of year. Well, we didn't see any shootings. Thank goodness while we were. They do say that Acapulco does have a greater than average killings per one hundred thousand sure the area we are. I mean, we're looking we're looking out over the bay where I'm looking at John Wayne's house right now now, John Wayne junkie houses. Right. The road here. And this isn't the nicest area of town. We're in a nice house. Overlooking a nice area, there is a wall. And there's barbed wire behind this house is a.

"Reacting with it now, which kind of affects the sort of location of these things in the culture. But also this idea that like your copy of raiders and my copy of raiders, even if we're watching digital copies on the same phone that are identical to each other. Because of the sounds around us in the experience around us are going to be different. And I'm just interested in thinking that yet this is sort of an easy idea to accept, but it's been tricky to accept that. It can make something that one person really sincerely engages within thinks is great and another person -serily engages with it and thinks that it's awful like that vast. If a difference might be accountable to a phenomenon like this. So the context in which you were watching it, and and particularly conscious of what you're watching like the copy of it that you have. So like, I'm imagining like. Yeah. In this particular case, right? Like showing it to children to whom you have a duty to sort of care for them and educate the more to, you know, bring them upright somehow your children, right? Like, the gives up a gives a different sort of moral Valence to the judgements that you make then just being you know, just being there for your own enjoyment. Right. And I would add to that at that as well. Like, you know, talking about educating your children giving them good values in the context of a left of center podcast. And also in the context where like that particular hoses known for like, this is slate signature, contrary and takes and wants to just kind of like say, something that's a little bit outrageous. So get support your point. Yes. The context in which raiders declared awful is very important. We're talking about the interesting idea of the of the copies is that like my first exposure to is the lost. Ark was a literally a second or third generation VHS dubbed of this movie was like totally washed out and probably helped make more powerful because it was so frigging violent for like the six year old meet for the first time. Yeah. I mean, I think you can't discount the kind of the performance aspect of people saying things on on podcast for entertainment value, that would not Ness would necessarily swear to in in a court of law. I have no idea what you're talking about. The math is the greatest in this generation. Spirit of vengeance. Masterpiece. Milton's paradise live the unsurpassed and unsurpassable greatest work of literature in any should be encased in loose light in the Smithsonian. Wait, what she already is never mind. Macaroni and cheese. You get out. That's well that's over the line. Macaroni and cheese is problematic. Well, so I wanna give a I want to give a little bit. I want to be a good freshman, literature and composition teacher to you and say sort of. So what like I'm I'm down. I'm down with the idea that like we watched movies on phones now ended different and stuff. Right. But but the I guess the the. Do we now is all criticism? Now, does it all need to like take into account or like to be to responsibly disclose like, you know, I saw this on on a DVD screener on a, you know, forty five inch TV as opposed to your thirty two inch TV. And that makes the that that is the thing that makes all the difference in the world, right? Like, they're they're almost never has been a. They're almost never has been kind of pure experience of of cinema. Even just because you're sitting in a different seat in the theater, right? Well, yeah. Yeah. I think that because that would that would be the modernist view of this, right? Is that okay? We should collect all the takes all the people who watch this movie all the different ways, and sort of combine them into a kind of cross referential library of analysis of raiders of the lost ark and have sort of a Ford assist poem. That's half in you know, Chinese ideograms and half an ancient Greek that kind of connects all of the ideas that our president all these steaks, and then and we should publish it in new directions literary magazine. Right. That's gotta like the the modernist approach to this problem..

"Yeah. Something like that. Perfect. Jeremy tell us. What's your PC per story? An a su- smother board touched me in a bad place. This was back in the days of the ace, seventy to sixty six when you still had Allie chipsets, and this particular motherboards came with both ST ram, and the this new fangled technology called DDR, and it would support both depending on how you switch the bios. And so I'm working through the manual trying to figure out how the hell this singling. Because it's it's talking about jumpers, and I'm looking and there's no jumpers dip switches, there's nothing, but there are some solder points that sort of match where that manual says that the dip switches would be. So gun at my pencil and sure enough they just didn't put it in finally booted up got to the end of the bios, which pro probably proclaimed. It was a beta was sold to me, and, you know, gone at working and going at least onto the internet to try and figure out what the heck is going on here and was using one of the temperature monitors which would suddenly say that my seep you hit five hundred degrees celsius machine. I five hundred aggress. Yes. Not. No, no, I managed to turn off the auto shut down. And it was literally looked like someone take shotgun. Made a temperature map with five hundred degrees. It's Greece sixteen degrees. It's eight hundred two degrees. It's forty five inch bounce all over the place. And it was unstable as all hell. So I'm digging around in the Souss. What they had for the sport. Forums back in two thousand one which was a lot of people bitching screaming. The motherboard wasn't stable gnawed a single person offering any sort of advice. So I started googling around. And there was this weird sight came up called case of 'em. Well, it's not the motherboard. I'm looking for. But at least it's the right manufacturer and went hung forums for a bit ended up chatting with some people convince someone to it was interesting to buy this board anyways for the troubleshooting to sort of figured it out and built up a nice little guide on what to do. If you find yourself buying a seven eight to sixty six and can't talk yourself out of it for whatever reason which over couple years led to getting to know a lot of the moderators that were hanging out the the forums and contributing to the point in the the folding frogs and the fragging frogs on the gaming and back when takes men and. Piglets used to work at this place..
