"The recent union games looking at Jordan, I can imagine him sitting in with Bayern in the old levandowski roll. Now, again, some people will say that is overstating the case, but you understand where he's coming from, a center forward is what Bayern actually had lacked a true center forward. And there's somebody who's doing it for union. So there's still time for him between now and the World Cup. I would imagine if he keeps on performing. He didn't, by the way at the weekend against science class, they were all disappointed, but union, but if he does keep performing, he's got to be going to Qatar. Jordan P focke, the next Robert levandowski, I can see the headlines now. You know what? You know, I love this stuff like that. I have one more thing, Derek here. Before we let you go, munching glad back. They got crushed over the weekend, 5 to one. Is that result in the fallout of that result? Gonna end up costing Joe scaly his starting job? Well, it's funny you ask that because I tweeted about this just a few hours ago. And I got a bit of pushback from some U.S. national team fans on it. What I was saying was that after a horror show, which is what it was for a glad back and for scallion personally, after a horror show, there will be changes. And the problem for Scalia is as well as he's done, and he has done well to start every single match at right back. He has fierce competition in the person of chef and liner, who's an established Austrian international who has been a little bit cheesed off, let's say, but he hasn't been playing so far this season, but the young American scallion has taken his place. So this is now going to be the opportunity you would think for liner, scallion, as if you like, give it a little opportunity, not just your scallion in the last game. There were many who struggled, but I think it is pretty logical and certainly my sources in which a glad bus tell me that it's pretty likely that we'll see a change at right back. Ironically for the biggest glad bath game of the season, which is always the Derby, the heinous adabi against kern. So we'll see what happens with scallion. He's done well, take nothing away from him, but it does go up with a territory as a young player against seasoned professionals that sometimes you have to sit one out. A little bit different than last year, hell out of that starting job that he got COVID and eventually they beat Bayern Munich without him, then he kind of was out of the starting lineup from then on out here it seems like four might indeed cost him the job. All right, there he is Derek gray calling Bayern Munich against Thornton this weekend, Derek enjoy it. We're pumped to hear your call on their classic as always. Thank you guys. Great to be on with you. There he is. Derek ray, you can hear him on the call, Bayern Munich against Borussia Dortmund third and fourth in the table. They're even on points when a game do not miss it Saturday on ESPN+ coverage starts 1230 p.m. Eastern Time.

"We saw that saw that throughout the week and it was nice for him to win Monte Carlo again in front of the fans, you know, just a different experience to what he had last year and yeah, he's a real real force on this surface. I think the return thing is big, isn't it? That extra bit of time on the return because he hasn't figured it out on a hardcore. He's made incremental improvements, but he hasn't had the significant lightbulb with how to return a big serve on a hard court with those massive swings that he has. He hasn't developed that shit backhand return or chip on either wing return, really, that so many so many want him to or are calling for him to do, but it just doesn't matter so much on clay and it's just so interesting what a change in service does to the sport because it ostensibly looks the same, doesn't it? And you know, if you didn't know that much about the sport, maybe you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I don't know, or maybe it would be even more obvious, maybe we're our eyes sort of become used to the difference. I don't know you could go either way, but I don't mean look at Alejandro davidovich for kina. I mean, since making that run at the French Open last year, when he brought himself to all our attentions, when we learned that he supports an animal charity back home in Spain and he wears a patch of theirs on his kit, since he announced himself he's done boggle as an E as soon as he came off the clay, just different player we went out to watch him play Felix austerity at the Australian open earlier this year on that wonderful new court. And it was a, it was a really great match what we saw, but he just didn't have ways to end the point, did he? There were some wonderful rallies, brilliant hitting. But he didn't have the weapons to end the point. And it's just a completely different sport for him on clay. Yeah, totally. And I think that auxiliary has seen match that you mentioned was probably one of the better matches he's played, not on the clay in the last few months. And I think he lost it in four tie breaks. But coming into this week, he hadn't beaten a top 100 player this year. And suddenly he gets on the clay and he beats, you know, a host of them, obviously Novak Djokovic in the second round, I'm sure we'll talk more about that match, but just absolutely. I mean, at this time of the year, you just talk about players that you don't normally talk about. You know, we're going to talk about the Vivek for kina where we could talk about mazetti as well. I enjoyed watching him on the clay and he's done nothing either. No. Since the French Open last year, he's done he's done close to nothing. And then suddenly, suddenly he's reminding us all why why we're so excited about him. I mean, I still think he should be better on hard courts than he has been thus far. And I think he will be, but oh, it was restorative to watch Mercedes look like that guy that we were all so excited about a year ago before he retired for the fans. Well, I do think that match had had lasting consequences. As you said, I think he's better on other surface than he showed. I think that was quite a scarring experience for him. And it took him a little while to get over. But yeah, absolutely such stylish tennis that I loved watching him this week. And I think for davidovich for kina, he's always been a guy, even last year, when yes, he had that run to the quarterfinals at Roland Garros, but he was a guy. I loved watching, but I didn't trust him to win matches because his tennis is so streaky. He hasn't got a great serve. He breaks. He breaks Mary carillo's main tennis rule, which is you've got to hold your goddamn serve. And he doesn't do that particularly well. And it just makes him vulnerable in matches and his game can go off and on very, very quickly. But I think he's really worked on that on trying not to have so many let downs. And I did trust him a bit more this week, just match after match. I felt like he was competing brilliantly. I love watching his game. He's so intense, isn't he? So intense. Just intensely intense. And I love that. I mean, it's really great. My favorite features in a player in terms of what I what engages me and he's just got the energy he must burn up with that intensity. I mean, there's a look in his eye that can be a bit terrifying, but it's also the electrifying. Yeah, absolutely. So I think what I'm saying is that he's managing to balance sort of throwing himself all over the core as he does and being literally and I think there's a Twitter account did focke fall, you know, it's the did Marin Cilic win equivalent and it just every day, yes. I think the U.S. channel. I think maybe it was tennis channel that had it this week. They actually had a counter during one of his matches of how many times he dived and fell in the clan. It got up to 8 at one point. Well, there was one in there was one in his match against Novak Djokovic, which spoiler alert he won..

"There was some great music. I mean because while i couldn't be out in the audience like physically watching we. We had a camera feed To the back so you could definitely hear it and you could see if you wanted to in the middle of our compound to go watch screen and there was some really great performances. I mean i still remember being blown away by seven dust who hadn't really heard of at that point and thought. Wow right so yeah. There was some really great music that weekend that you know getting lost i think in all the surrounding chaos. How about you mark. I figured showed of promoters and potential promoters that. There's a consequence to your actions. And i think it was the learning of that in real time. I think it was the understanding of the need for attention to detail. Because you haven't really seen a repeat vat have you know and and leave. That was the good in this. A believed the showing everyone that pudding hundreds of thousands of people together has a consequence of it stopped on right. Yeah and i think it's funny too because like for me like i said being twenty three year old kid watching woodstock ninety four. Mtv like saying that's my woodstock. But i really like. I really enjoyed watching it. I mean that's when the peppers came out with the light bulbs on their head. And i think a lot of the same bands may play metallica. Played it to and and and obviously type of green day and all that sort of stuff. And i always had a connection to the to the sixty nine woodstock just because it's woodstock actually bought a piece of the stage that they were selling on instagram. Just a couple a couple of months ago. I guess they'd taken the original woodstock stage made into a racket ball court and they actually have the you know the tickets to see. Also so it is such a part it's like you know hendrix played it and kinda the beatles on top of abbey road. It's one of those things that if you're rock fan you appreciate ninety nine to me was kind of the trying to fit the square peg into the round hole. I found because the twenty five anniversary was organic five years later thirty. Whatever it just seemed. Okay let's really start making some money off this and it really kind of backfired in a lot of ways. So i don't really have a connection to it but but hearing your guys experiences it's one of those things where it's like focke man. What a what a monumental moment and a historical festival. Maybe maybe only matched by woodstock to in woodstock one. Yeah maybe i did for a while. Have quite a collection of radio station shirts. Not because of wanting to collect them but because it was so hot and humid in gross that everybody was trading and giving t shirt so that you could take off your whatever gross shirt and put a clean shirt on during the day so that was like a big thing like it was a joke about all the different because of where we were situated. All the radio station taste hurts. We were taken to rooms. And i would go into these rooms. Where the bootleg. T shirts were literally waist high. You.

"From my electric toothbrush. Which is i have to. We'll have to replace at some point. It's more importantly. Hey i talked about this my computer. The pc that i bought with thirty ninety at and all that stuff has fans on top of it and covering that was a plastic great and on the back of that plastic great fits into the top of it and at the back of the case. It looks like it's a handle. It was like something you you'd pick it up with. And i did this myself of time to pick up this computer and and you got popped out panel off and you're like oh fuck so i put it back on and then didn't think it and then you know. The movers had to move it. Because i had a car full of baby. Everyone's like i can't believe you wouldn't move important stuff yourself like a pc traveled a child. Fucker you can fit in a car when you gotta take family three on a on a car drive and see what you put in the fucking car and that great popped off totally understandable. But it's gone. I'm pretty sure. It's gone on senator that so it's like exposed fans dan is it is. Yeah three fans just sitting at the top so which daughter would love to come over and she was like basically playing them like turntables. She was at a time and just like stop them and start him and was like this is very cute. But i cannot have you doing this So i threw a tale entertainment center like a smaller. One that we're not gonna use Over here yesterday and raised it up off the ground And so. I bought the specie from origin. Pc which is a computer company. And so. I contacted them to be like. Hey this piece. I'm pretty sure it's just gone. I'm running out of boxes to open like you got a replacement anything like that and you know two or three days later. They respond until like Man we we got bought by corsair. We didn't keep any of that. Shit shit funding focke damp dead. Stop anyone out. There is an older origin millennium case and they have the fucking plastic great off the top of not using fight to me care of this station. what we do. Jeff is beginning to a three d. printer and you three print your own see. Yeah but did out there. It's a big. It's going to take a big three d. printer. You gotta like snap it. Altogether people may hold. Costs plays three d. printed now. So yeah the least we can build you a great that seemed and it is just plastic. It's nothin' super fancy So it is open. You can live that open. Pc life now there are there. Are there dozens us. It's nice grades. One that dislike hangs from the ceiling the motherboard. Just they're twisting in the wind like you know just the spread out chandelier. Pc On yeah no probably not. But that's just frustrating and now it's gotta thinking like okay. I probably need to buy a new case I don't necessarily love this case anyway. So you know it'd be nice to get quieter case. But god i don't wanna fucking move this business machine over to a whole new case and have to deal with all that shit and that has been the back and forth. What should i do about it. thing For me for the last week. Or so. And i've temporarily solved by raising it off the ground a couple of feet. My daughter can't run over and mess with it. Also your windows as a setting that lets you disable the power button or like. There's like a setting. What do you want to happen when you push the power button and you can set it to nothing. Nothing which with children seems like the right setting. This computer does not listen to that setting. So i said it to that And she's gotten smart enough to lift the little slice a slider that covers the power button. And now she knows how to do that. And so just lift it up like three buttons here and just start hitting them and turn the whole machine off. And what So now plug daphne motherboard. But then there's no way to turn on right. Yeah so if like basically opened the case in hot wire and every time like hit a jumper or whatever it is just learned that bike she smart. I've kind of external actually is. She's like getting pretty devious. honestly yeah it's it's smart. It's faster than expected totally. It's also easy terrifying. yeah so that's that's been out. It's been going around. These parts says like a smooth move though. Like if that's what you're if that's what's on your worry list you gotta you gotta nest battery and you're fine. His case you know kobe like was there anything. Funky at the house dating weren't here for the crimes. I saw the title of the podcast and went. I'm having a nice holiday. I don't need this in my life. And i didn't do it. Yeah yeah no there was the. I think it was the handyman. I think we had someone come in and put up to baby proof a part of the house and i wonder if maybe he did. The deed was basically. Here's there was. There was a toilet that had that was unflappable and was well all right. The entire bowl was coded..

"He's already been a prisoner a criminal hero bank people's 'cause milk buyer. That's a great call. Because i think a good example in this movie of they cater the choreography to the actor or the character is hobbs versus shaw in that opening sequence. Shaw's doing like the knee kicks and like all the like kramah gal short and then the rock does iraq's arrive into coffee tables when i saw that in the theater people ain't shit when he does the real which is nicole his. Wwe wrestling move stefon through the table. That was his finishing. Move the rock bottom the people. Oh just so does. And you're like reference to rock bottom and detroiters. Tim stepdad gets by his brother. O'malley chance fucking cool ass move. It's wild i later. Movies are very good theater movies. Like i took this year to go. See hobson shah. She didn't know anything she'd never seen it fast and furious movie. She was like that was fucking fun. And i was like yeah. They're all fun. Dining hanau fast nine was like my first post pandemic movie theaters. I went with like. And i never been to the theater in two years. And i was like all fast nines. The perfect weight. And i go and sit down. I'm sitting with tiff. And i'm like are you so she goes. I've never seen any of. I should ask you a little earlier. I'm gonna gather for twenty years. I've been in my office. Watch movies daily and you don't really need to know you don't really fuck you actually can if you watch it without knowing anything about you. Get a certain base level of enjoyment and then someone throws in the whole. That's actually his brother. That also some of the timeline stuff is missing from not worried. Wait a minute. Why is this person's necklace from you. Don't if you like. Oh shit gatling good. I liked that part too. It's like who's that it's like. Oh you haven't met hobbes and you think he's going to be like a good line or something lady just hats hobbs. I'd say here you're leading. Character is super tough. An ambiguous like you can have a joke. Could be real. It could be like. That's the calvary whenever note but just not his name thank you. I'm ramsey pleasure. God so hobbes arrests decker cha and locks them away in a remote high security prison which seems like overkill. It's kinda wild. He was all of this he was like. Yeah 'cause it's gonna keep this will kill you before. I kill you or something and i was like all right. The rock needs a nap. You know as someone who's seen hobson shaw that they become friends eventually leagues. It's pretty wild but like there's a lot of like gay jokes in it. If i remember correctly like misogynistic sort of like feminine is bad. Yeah twenty twenty one or whenever info twenty nineteen to mangas is okay your family in families. Good so tom. And the grew a relaxing on a tropical beach because after all they're big missions they either have to have a barbecue or sit somewhere and this got me. They're all watching. Brian and mia play with the baby. Jack knowing that mia is pregnant with brian's kid knowing that brian is not gonna come back for the next movie. This got me. I was like boy. Oh boy when he goes roman. Shut your mouth for a second and just look yes. I felt like shit. Like when you're like when i was a kid and my dad be like knocking off in pay attention. What this guy saying. It's actually fucking and you're like oh shit and in in that moment you're like you quiet up and you're like fuck that's so heavy and it's like you're just gonna leave without saying goodbye in a wife eater and white cover band. Says this is wearing a light blue shirt. I clocked. that was like he's wearing a color now but boy oh boy and then when they you know go through all the memories and you see young brian i was like it really fucking. God may really incredible touching. It's it's also shows you. How many people. He's been scenes with because the cast of these movies change so loudly and it's like holy shit that he did that with him. You did that with him. Get your fucking hang just like i thought you were the pretty face in this movie. But i'm realizing now you're the fucking glue year like even he. He exists still in the movies after his. You know what i mean like. He's referenced that i think is just like a way you don't see it done in movies at all where it's like. We know the actors dead whenever going to replace him with someone else or anything like that. But we're just keep saying like at least him in me are off safe somewhere again art. It's fucking cool. Man they is and then you find out how close van and paul were in real life. And you don't really like vince daughter's name. is paula. such fucking there really good friends in the movies at very good tribute to him in a good tribute. It is really good sendoff but like truly when he was in that supra i lost it. I was like oh boy in owed to the first movie. The dense second carl. He's gonna ride and they've been having that debate via jack. The kid of american muscle versus import speed. They kept that argument up via the child. Which is kind of entry. Just fucking it. Hits you really hard watching. Yeah it's really sad. It really sucks like when jenny angelo in in the fast five episode mentions. She walked down the aisle to see you again when she first teamed. Wedding guys right. That's right and she said that. I was like fuck. I would have been balling at your wedding and people would have been like. Wow i didn't know. Was that good friends. would you know he just loves. Paul walker has eighty two percent certified fresh on rotten tomatoes. The budget was one hundred ninety million and it grows one point five billion dollars internationally. God asia keeps growing like doubled. The towers hickey who not good so much money. That's how much fucking month. Wow as a defense contractor. This is the fastest movie to gross over one billion dollars. It's the fastest moving gross over one billion dollars surpassed avatar tail avatar. Where avatar to. Where's that squeezing super that. Brian drives at the end of the movie. Actually belonged to paul walker. Focke that's so cool. Yeah you probably probably bought that with his too fast money. He's like. I should have all the cars driving movies. I should write rich and spoke. I might as well buy all these cars. This is the first sequel in the series to take place chronologically after tokyo drift. No it's not. I think the idea right. It's supposed to be talking about how. Yes yes okay. Now my heads on straight. That was really hard for.

"Living to one hundred. I'm shooting for it Do you start thinking about well. We all four of us have been very fortunate that we've gotten a lot of things done that we probably wanted to get done. Certainly sean you seem to have done so many great things. Do you think it about the second half. It does something jumped to the front of. Your mind is something you really want to get done before. It's all over you know it's My wife is a significantly younger than i am. A man and she doesn't have much tolerance for me considering on the second half So publicly. I don't know what i'll say about that. But yes just looked over his shoulder certainly one wants to. You know. I guess i measure it trying to be a better dad every day And and make sure that. I'm that i on the last day. I have as little shame as possible. I get that. Yeah i get that too. I remember i remember. When was the last time you talked about falcon and the snowman. Been a minute and a minute yet. Yeah i remember that movie. I loved that movie man. I was like. I'm telling you. I'd like jason. I'm about ten years younger than you. And i remember. That movie came. I was about fourteen focke. That's so fucking cool. Talk to me a little bit about that. Because i remember that was right around like that was who who who directed. That film is john slesinger. Yeah which was such a such a sophisticated movie in a way like it was. It was a really. That's a true film as opposed to movie. That's one of those movies. That i think i reserve the word but that was a great mood. Can you talk a good experience for you that john was an extraordinary film director. You know he made midnight cowboy yards thon man. The day of the locust. Far from the madding crowd i mean he he he was and he was very diverse. He also directed opera And so i walked into that movie as a gigantic fan and in the period after making the movie. John and i got along great We didn't have a good relationship during the making of the film. Because there was a sort of i i had a real devotion to bringing the character out very much in line which is not always be the case but in that case very much as as close as i get to who the real guy was and by that i mean you know physically vocally all of it and john was interested in and more impressionistic view of it So we kind of like butted heads a little bit. Yeah but it has a little bit on that but that said you know to be whatever i was about twenty two twenty three years old and you have the opportunity to work with john slesinger and alan daviel and and and then my my great friend timothy hutton. On the second thing that we did together E- you know it's a very memorable one. And also steve's alien who wrote the script was down there and we shot most of the film in mexico city and so even that part of it being able to spend time in in mexico. Which i'd only ever gotten down to rosarito before with a surfboard. Never never uh being down in mexico city before that it was quite a great experience and timothy hutton. Had done taps together and then this was you guys together. I remember it's always. I've always remembered that you know because there was a lot of press about back even way back. Then you are great friends and then you guys went. Did this film. i don't know it just almost. I always love that movie. No real question there other than just looking move. Also what i do. "Feeling of being separate from her because i was never good enough and she reminded me essentially all of that pain. All of her. Grandstanding and pushing me away for this faith to get to the end and have doubts about it. What's the point. What's the point of throwing away. That relationship over something that you're not even sure is for you I don't understand when it came right down to it. She still didn't feel good enough for jesus. Yeah yeah focke in religious fucking religion fucking religion. I know she missed that whole grace and forgiveness and love jesus. She chose to concentrate on the vengeful god. Sky daddy yeah in her last moments it was it was it was. It was asshole sky. Daddy yeah i know mental scott it enough loving welcome home. Yeah god did this. Poor woman has just been tormented her entire life by religion. I know because you know. If i believed in that heaven with jesus father figure in the whole business it better be like a fucking airport welcoming where the sign hell. Yeah you know yeah. Welcome home catherine yup. You know. I mean that's what i would want. That's what i would expect. If i had this faith that she had but did she have it. I mean i don't know you know i. I'm sure she thought she did.
