Unpacking the Concept of 'Wellness Chasing'

"So we are going to be talking about the concepts of wellness chasing and the nutrition jungle today. So you all have probably heard us or me. Talk about the nutrition jungle in some way or form on a lot of different episodes but we wanted to flush it out what is it. Why does it happen. Why are we so confused about nutrition. Information and the place at that conversation starts is with wellness chasing so christina. Take it away. Yes so we started talking about this a lot recently. Trying to describe When you're when you're constantly seeking out nutrition information at other wellness trends and a lotta times. It's attached to unlocking some piece of your health puzzle. A lot of times or like the overarching thing and sometimes you know we dig beneath the surface. A few layers. It's usually are weight ray. Because we interlock weight and health so deeply in our culture so we we started thinking about this more we thought you couple this icon of seeking out kind of mentality and picture someone like walking around round trying to pick up new information like a scavenger hunt and you have this strong value for holistic approaches to wellness which deny can obviously relate to or both of the integrative functional paradigm. So that's where we came from and so we get it in so we were kind of thinking about. You don't necessarily relate to dieting but wellness protocols. Things that are good for your. How are things that you really jive with what we call it wellness chasing because you're kind of jumping from trend or collecting all of this information along the way because you're trying to seek this elusive perfect

A Coworking Community of First Believers

A Coworking Community of First Believers

"Get started. I'll ask you an about launch pad. You and chris co founders of launchpad. What is that exactly so launch pad is a network co working spaces really focused on smaller communities what we call them into markets throughout the united states. And we're located in nashville newark. New jersey stockton california new orleans. And we're coming to many other cities like mesa arizona and louisville kentucky. So we've really focused on becoming part of the entrepreneurial community and acting as a home base for entrepreneurs of all kinds. So i'm going to ask you about your locations in a bit but i wanted to ask you about your unique value proposition. I mean you're playing in a growing space. What defines launch pad among all other players in the space i think the biggest factor is an alignment with the success of our members. We really focus on people who are working on cnn. Really is the way that we define our marketing so that's much more expansive than just people starting a startup right. There's a lot of people who are working entrepreneurial league whether you are starting to start up a small business freelancer even working remotely. The nature of work is changing so much and we really focus on helping her members be successful in whatever their goals and aspirations are a lot of people are new to this and we believe that diversity of member shall ross. The types of businesses in diversity on level is so important so the lot of factors that set launch pad art and. I'm sure we'll we'll talk a little bit about sort of the ups and downs of the co working world today in the in the on gas. But we've been around for ten years and have really focused on the growing success of ecosystems that we play a part in that starts with helping the members that work at launch pad really achieved their roles. So when when i was doing my research a term popped out of the text and that was first believers. What does that mean. And why is it so important at launch pad. They mainly sat down and belts sort of the core values with business and or operating communities that we serve. I believe i one that always talks up and crystals. Everyone's firstly a ride often on journey. You hear the words know whether that from an investor whether it's from your mother whether it's from your little that little guilty had You're telling you that it's not gonna work and what you really need levers and so me think of that as sing the level within lunchtime and oftentimes those folks were working in the community. They are each other's levers members to show every day. They're the ones you hear the saab sorting things go wrong. Who celebrate the for sale. Who ring the bell with you. And you create this environment where we're all sort of on this entrepreneurial jury ourselves and help each other and we consciously about it every day about being people's first lemurs and we do that in righty one. It's the cities that we choose so we often go to places that maybe be overlooked by big providers or big big Operators in our space and we take bets on the city's because we really believe in supporting them supporting their entrepreneurs and we also believe that being i believe her is not just about writing a check. It's also being someone's purse customer so we try actively to support our businesses within launchpad by not only being their mentor their friends but to be their customer many years ago before i even started executive recruiting. I tried my hand at starting a new suspect on intellectual property. I spent a lot of money. I wrote a patent got a patent issue and then i tried becoming operational as a startup and was so soul-crushing and yes i got told no every day i never heard yes and i was like how can i put up with this so i can see the value in doing that. You know it's so true. I it's the journey of any entrepreneurial venture hearing no all day long in whatever role you are and it's also the internal journey right. I think the first believers concept is really the antidote to imposter syndrome. rain holds us back is am. I truly the ceo of this company. Am i truly hanging my big corporate job in stepping out to follow my passion project and so by being a community of first believers has not just us founders that that believe in our members radium culture where people believe in each other and push each other and support each other along that journey wondering if you could give me a sense of how that gets flushed out. So i'm a startup entrepreneur. I set up shop at launch. What can i experience at launch pad. That's going to help me flush out my business model in my path to success. Oftentimes the process starts before you become a member and typically what we see a lot of the journeys especially for startup founders. Is they'll connect with one of us or another member of our community around something as simple as pitch practice or a mentor session. Or hey i'm looking to raise money. Can i tap into your network to connect with others and get some funding. You know they always say if you ask for money you'll get good advice and we have that conversation with us. Start to be able to demonstrate the power of the network the power of the platform and power those connections and oftentimes some of the way we recruit startups into launchpad is through those very first early conversations. Once they join the community we have an on boarding process for folks where we connect people. It's starting out. A co working. Space is a little bit starting your first day at school or your first day at your job and we approach that very similarly by creating programs and connection points doing a little member matchmaking. So that folks who have like minded challenges or personalities or different types of businesses. We can connect them. And so we're really sort of smooth the path of on boarding in the community and then we have a variety of different programming and curriculum and supportive activities that happen throughout the year to be able to support entrepreneurs obviously dumb one some group sessions but we really sort of enable the platform to basically support it. And what we end up seeing these collisions of connection moments where people come together and they find their technical co founder amongst our member base or they find their first customer if they're hanging their shingle to be a consultant. Every time we do surveys of our member base about the benefits of being at launchpad we consistently hear that it helps them do more business. It helps them be more professional helps them achieve more their goals. That's fabulous so you take a lot of the sting out of being a startup entrepreneur with dimension. We also are sort of on converts so we understand deeply the challenges that we all face. And i mean i think especially in a year like we've had with the pandemic with twenty twenty struggled ourselves as as many businesses and i think it's been really valuable for us to be able to share those struggles in to go through that together with our members. We wake up every day. Thinking about launch pad are members. Were not a big corporation. We don't wanna be. And i think that really comes through in terms of the connection points that we can make with entrepreneurs are our

Recognizing at George Washington as a Politician With Author David O. Stewart

"Talk about why this book. I as i told you before. We began recording. I told my wife. Oh yeah david. Stewart's come out with a book about washington's politician and she said something like oh great Another and obviously her is was like another damn washington book. And i said no. You really don't understand. This is like a a topic. That's lying for in in the middle of the road for people to pick up and no one has thinking about washington's a politician has been curiously difficult to people. Do you want to flush that out. It's not an accident. He really didn't ever want to be seen as a politician although he made himself into a splendid one and so he nurtured his his military identity and he always attempted when he ended up in politics to appear nonpartisan to the extent he could simply a man doing his duty and that was the myth him as a soldier as a planter As a statesman is a wonderful phrase rather than politician a successful politician. Yeah exactly exactly and that has simply survived. And i think we've avoided the the term largely to preserve his position in the pantheon. And i think it blinds us too many of the keys to his success because in fact and this has been a major scholarly activity of the last twenty years from military historian. Yeah he was not a brilliant military commander in dade far from on occasion so something has to account for this amazing success and i do think it was extraordinarily political skill

Personalization: How to Get Buy-In From Leadership

"Real quick one but i get asked this question a lot. Hey christina yes. Personalization works sometimes. It can take a little bit longer if you get down this rabbit hole of research. But how do i get my team. And more importantly my leadership to understand the importance of personalization and so with this really goes back to really. The root of the question is how do i justify the time. I'm spending verses making fifty calls. Maybe i'm taking you know ten fifteen minutes per prospect really personalizing my outreach to try to get a higher return. And here's what i usually say. First and foremost don't piss off your leadership. We all have different goals. We all have different metrics that were held by their their for reason. So keep doing what you need to do. Fight the good game. What i usually tell people to do is whether it's on this side or you know kind of looping in your leadership team and say. Hey i'm going to keep hitting my metrics but i just want you to know. I think it's really important to test this new method of outreach takes a little bit more time but i am more than happy to carve out some time in test this on. Let's just say twenty five to fifty prospects right. I will present the data to you. Leadership team on was this fruitful. Doesn't make sense for maybe me to test this a little bit more and then it could turn into a situation where your leadership team is like. Hey all right you're onto something. How about you kind of go all in on that. We think it might be fruitful. Let's keep the rest of the team moving until he kinda flush this out some more. So i say there's two things here you know. Don't be afraid to kind of stand up. And say hey. I think it might make sense to test this. And here's why and here's helen. Going to test it without detracting away from my core responsibilities but to also be able to make that internal business case right and if it turns out that you have to go and do that at night. I prospect at night. Sometimes it's the best time. It's the quietest time if it turns out. You have to run that test at night and then kind of piggyback and ask for forgiveness and say hey i did this over the course at three nights this week. It's been really fruitful. I've booked x amount of meetings gotten this many replies etc and do it

Why It's Harder to Bluff in Multiway Pots

"It's harder to bluff and also harder to make thin value bets in multi way pots right when you bluff in a multi way pot. You have to get multiple people to vote. And that's hard to do especially when they're as king on the board and a three about pot. There's a very good chance that somebody has a big pair and they're probably not giving up on it very easily. So if you don't have it and you don't have equity against it you know. It's fine to the flop with gut shot. It's find about the flop with a flush draw. If the big blind is sitting there holding like nine of hearts he probably should not bet the flop by getting enough equity to justify that. Typically you're not gonna be able to get away with a lot of pure bluffing in in multi way pots. I mean there's like everything poker depends. They're exceptions. I think in general you're not going to be. You shouldn't be looking to do a lot of pure bluffing in multi way pots. You can bet when you have blockers you can bet when you have draws your betting in general is going to be a little bit more like polarized in in multi way pots and this is also why you're typically going to use smaller sizing and multi way pots because a lot of what. You're accomplishing with that fullback. He is a bigger deal in multi way pots. But that doesn't mean you're bluffing. Would it means is that you're getting more value from the hands that your opponent folds in other words if you did have let's say a s- queen and you bet this is king seven to nine minutes board. Were nearly like if you were just in the heads up pot the hans. Your opponents is folding to that are typically not hand very much equity against you. He's not folding trolley. Not holding any kind of straight drawl might be folding pocket pairs. That have two outs or five. Six of clubs kinda hand. That has some back door draws you into fold a pretty small amount of equity in multi way pots people will fold slightly better hands so you may get people folding like eight seven or something. They wouldn't fold heads up pot. That has a little bit more equity against you but also just causing multiple people to fold. Small amounts of equity is is worthwhile right if each player individually is only folding five or ten percent equity. That's not worth a lot and a heads up hot in a two way pot. That's ten to twenty percent equity in a three way pot. That's like twenty twenty five percent equity so it does start to add up even these small amounts of equity because you're getting it from multiple players so even when you're betting with what's probably the best hand in a multi pot year you're benefiting a little bit more from folds than you would be in a heads up but

Author Cassandra Clare On How She Creates Memorable Characters

"Just like laurel rings. There's a big cast of characters your books and series. They always have a lot of different characters that we meet throughout when you're constructing that and going through the draft process and kind of outlining how to make sure that that those characters can stick with readers. How much do you kind of do beforehand as far as flushing them out or having an understanding of the personality of the elements of that character. before kind of The to include them in your stories. I would say that. I do about fifty percent beforehand. You know. I want to know a good amount about the character. You know i wanna have the sense at least for me. The most important thing is of what they want now more than anything else was this person. Want more than anything else in the world. What's driving them. And then secondarily. I would probably want to know things like what is there. The thing that hurt the most in the world what's their greatest loss. Who is the person in the world they care about the most. Who's the person that they hate. You know you want to these sort of big stroke things that give you the shape of your character but i also feel like you one can get lost in making notes. You know you can make notes forever about a character or a place and You have to you kind of run your characters like a like a rat you have to run them through the maze of war. You learn what they're like entirely. You're never going to know your carter completely. Just making notes about them. You have to put them in the story and run the store and see how they respond

Catherine Coleman Flowers Addresses The Lack Of Basic Sanitation In The United States

"Catherine you grew up in lowndes county alabama. Can you tell me a little bit about it. And what it was like growing up there yes lowndes. County is seven hundred and fourteen square miles very rule. When i grew up we could actually pick plums and apples off trees and our walk through cornfields and actually pick up in ear corn off stock and could sink my teeth in. Actually you know life the way. It tastes is supported by the alabama river there. Lots of creeks and streams there. It was a kind of community. Where people were self reliant and everybody had a garden and when you went to visit someone it was not unusual for them to talk about with a hickman. A garden need to give you something to take home and that is to the black belt is where cotton was historically ground in the country. It's got the very rich soil. We've got to keep in mind that lowndes county was very agriculture Plantations their allowance. Kenny also has a history of activism. That goes back really to after the civil war Were african americans which make a majority of the county our fighting not only for the right to vote but the right to control their own labor and because of the type of racial trauma and violence that was inlands can gain the name bloody lowndes so i grew up at a time when it was great. Change a lot of people are coming to visit primarily students that were part of the su nonviolent coordinating committee. There were organizing people for the right to vote because allows carries between the selma montgomery area in most of the march for the right to vote actually goes through lowndes county. You've highlighted this statistic that eighty percent. I think people live in las county or not on a municipal sewer system which means when you flush the toilet. It doesn't go in the sewer system. Because somewhere else is that. Is that the the situation. Yes the situation. In but of those eighty percent will of the twenty percents that are on a municipal system. Some of them are pana wastewater treatment. A emanate flush system instead of just going into the lagoon is coming back into their homes. They the yards so we not only see failing onsite septic systems or lack of septic systems. Will we also see failures. Their current with the wastewater treatment plants wale kevin. Can you explain to me. How septic fifteen works The simplest well quite simply what a in does sledge it goes into it. Jeremy looks like a concrete container. It goes into that container disciplines be natural processes that take place breakdown the fluent that goes there and then it goes through feel is once it goes to those field lies is supposed to come out to almost like drinking water quality but when it when it fails that's not what happens it get clogged up. Once it gets clogged up or eighties gets waterlog. It comes back into the home when it comes back into the home. The fluent that we thought would get treated with not get treated actually end up inside the house so even if you're system your get you don't necessarily have effective sewage presumably. If you have no septic system or inadequate septic system it depends on what you define this worse Inadequate septa system is probably worse than not having a septic system because of their straight pipe. They're taking away from the house. That's just a pipe that dumps the sewage outside the house right they often connect. Pvc pipe to a connection there at the mobile home. So when a flush the toilet in go go-to their pvc pipe. And wherever it is it extends. Sometimes i've seen it go into a appeared outside of the home. I've seen go into a pastor. I've seen it go into the woods when you have a septic system fails or you. Part of a treatment system failed. It comes back into the home quite easily and that usually comes back sometimes. It could flood the homes. I've been in homes where you can see their lands along the walls where was flooded with raw sewage. You can still smell it or come back into a person's bath to whatever the lowest point of entry is gonna come back into the home. These failures can create serious health consequences. What are some of the health consequences that you see in lowndes county but in other places where there is inadequate sewage or a total lack of food system in two thousand seventeen we found evidence of hookworm in other tropical parasites that a journal related to be exposed to raw sewage. We found that allowance karen. We haven't done those type studies in other places however we have collected soil samples in this study is currently being period viewed with samples collected in five states. In those five states. We also found parasites associated with raw sewage.

The vast majority of Texans have had their power of historic, according to the state's grid manager. Temperatures air back to above freezing in most of the state, But clean water could remain an issue through the rest of the weekend and beyond. The problem is low water pressure. However, at the same time, that's really the only option you have and maintaining water in your home. Thanks to all those burst pipes. Demand for plumbers now far exceeds supply. One Houston church has reached out to partners across the country to get volunteer plumbers to Texas. Chris See is the pastor at a classy, a Houston He says they usually try to organize emergency help like this for home repairs after tropical storms and hurricanes this time, we need a little bit more skilled labor mucking houses a lot easier than plumbing repairs on burst pipes, but Just following in that vein. "Want to start with a brand. That's new to me golden dom beauty. Now they sent us a bunch of products obviously full disclosure we will always full disclosure disclose things they send somebody products to try and i tried them and i wanted to give you a review of my trying them because when i first tried them i was like well. This is okay but then this is the thing isn't it. We always have to review things. And i think this goes across everything that we use is. Does it do what it says. It does. And on wti the thing that i actually really like about ron john. Beauty is it's not to be something isn't if that makes sense it is all about minimalists beauty. It's about getting the job. Don a us retouched photos in their campaigns. It's all about just making life easy and getting it done and even though it's called undone i do actually really respect that now. What i'm going to say is this is not a brand for beauty. Obsessed people like me. This is realistically i'm like. I know it's a brand. That's four main. This is not a brand for someone who's gonna spend three hours of sephora trying to get the exact right shade and coverage of foundation Because they've got the time and the inclination to do so. It is for someone who wants to get their makeup on. Get out the door and go about their day and with that in mind i actually really liked it. I did a full face I used the Unfound matt tent. Which i really liked very. It's very light coverage which it says again it says it so can't be matter at But it's really pretty re pretty vanishes vegan and cruelty free which we love the lip to cheek pallets. A really really like they're really nice. Gives me a real steeler convertible color vibe in such a win. The flush brow They sent me two shades and neither of them were perfect for me but the dark brown which i use a very light hand. That was pretty great for my bras. Which i need a very ashi tone very doc not darker than blonde but i need an ashi. Ashi ashi tone in my products. I use very light hand with the pen. That was great and the little brow of pa- made gel on on the other end clues double ended product which makes it a real value. Money win That was great. That was fantastic. That was too dark for me but as a product that does what it supposed to do. I thought it was fantastic. I liked the lip gloss over watermelon lip gloss which i've actually been wearing a lot. I enjoyed that and my favorite product. I have to say my absolute favorite would even believe it was the water highlighter. And it's one of those highlights sticks that feels cooling on application so called water for a reason very high water content and it feels cooling on the skin on. I absolutely loved

Dot Com. Dear what he's show this is from Mike by the way listen to the podcast topic of haunted houses came up, which then went into stories about seeing ghosts. Thought, you might enjoy a couple from a listener. ooh Yes. Story Number One, my grandfather passed I was back home for the funeral and the house clean out. It was maybe a week and a half after his death and I woke up in the middle of the night to my grandfather looking at photos and trophies on my dresser I called out GRANDPA. No response I turned on the light, but I couldn't see him anymore. We'll shocking and when I turn the light back off, he reappeared looking over things on my dresser. Yes I couldn't get a response. So I went back to sleep thinking if he was going to do anything to me, it would have already happened Jack Disloyalty. Hurt you. Yeah. Go scrambling lady'll. Yeah. GRANDPA's a jerk. All right. Story Number Two, twenty years later it's a couple years ago I was renting a very old house woke up in the middle of the night. I saw something this time it goes floating back and forth outside my bedroom pack. It had no real discernible body to it but the face was screaming and looked as if it were an immense pain scary an understatement and if I had one chambered I'm sure have soiled the bed. All right. I had zero desire to interact with it and I apply the same logic that anything was going to happen it would have happened while I was sleeping. So I didn't move a muscle and I tried to get back to sleep. That is a couple of ghost stories from Mike My. Rent, really old houses up totally new houses. What could explain this guy? I. Don't know. "Be fine is not an immediate danger speaking of president trump he is feeling better he spoke to the press after being discharged from Walter Reed last night. One thing that's for certain. Don't let it dominate you. Don't be afraid of it. You're going to beat it. We have the best medical equipment. We have the best medicines all developed recently. And you're going to beat it. I went i. didn't feel so good. And two days ago I could have left two days ago two days ago I felt great like better than I have in a long time I said just recently better than twenty years ago. Don't let it dominate. Don't let it take over your lives don't let that happen his medical team warning that he may not entirely be out of the woods yet for sleety trump who also tested positive for Cova, tweeted yesterday that she feeling good and White House Press Secretary Kaley mcenaney tweeted she has also tested positive. You guys I do want to mention this while. We're talking about the president rolling quick coins commemorating. President trump surviving covid are already available for preorder at an online gift shop. If you're interested the one hundred dollar coins that say trump defeats covid on them are for sale on the website of the White House gift shop, which for the record has no affiliation with the actual White House but still kind of funny. Chris. Pass somebody puts it out in in in You can do that though. What do you mean? You can actually put. Coins like that, and the guy we don't know if the guy has gotten through Cova. Yet I mean feed it they say. The coin says trump defeats covert. Has the or twenty twenty. Chris Pratt was stirring up some controversy for an insensitive joke that he made about voting this happened last week he shared this instagram post to encourage fans to vote not for the presidential election but for his movie onward and he's had please vote for honored at this year's people people's choice awards. So his post said with all that's going on in the world. It's more important than ever that you vote just ask any celebrity they will tell you every day several times a day of vote, and then he went on to say the upcoming twenty twenty people's choice awards is the most consequential vote in the history of mankind times million infinity. Who Vote for onward for family movie of the year or else you will die no hyperbole click the link in my bio. Let Your Voice be heard and the marvel stars don't kind of back fired because some of his followers were saying come on we really need to be serious about this and get people registered to go out and vote don't be so insensitive here and another dirty another movie delay this time around it's the Batman which stars Robert Pattinson as the Cape Crusader it has been delayed yet again. So now, the release date in theaters being pushed back from October twenty twenty, one to March twenty, twenty two. Wow, that's waiting tally. Is GonNa Hollywood's GonNa Kill the movie industry? I mean, we're not getting wise movie theaters going to do. The Government doesn't bail out the movie heaters. They're they're going to be done when you've talked yesterday companies and you and I think you missed it. But one of the big movie chains I WanNa say it's cinema won the owns regal yeah. They're closing one hundred and forty movie theaters permanently. One of them's here commerce township. Yeah. The the one right by my which was up the united. Artists. Yeah. Yeah. That's a real. I actually think that I honestly think that people that are in the movie industry and they say that the reason why these guys are closing is because there still are two states, the two biggest California New York that aren't open with their movie theaters. And the problem is why open now because the movie companies aren't GonNA put out movies. So it almost defeats the whole purpose and I feel so bad for those guys in the government doesn't step up and do something like they do for the airline industry. Guess where you're going to be watching movies. You're be watching movies on your couch and it's going to kill the. You're not going to see these movies making the kind of money that they make. Hey. I do a lot of things my feet you I do the Lazy Man's load where I want all the groceries in one load. Absolutely. I literally picked out my door knobs based on what I could open with my foot quitting. We were remodeling our house. Yeah. Oh my goodness. I have never been able to pick out door knobs, but that is exactly what I consider. If I've ever met wonderful position. Yeah the lever door knob you can just open it with your foot. All you got to do is make sure keep your hamstrings flexible enough and it comes in handy for flushing public toilets to write. I wanted to bring you this information here about about Washington. This is you know, we are trying something to do with the format here in the morning show Washroom news on the threes and it's 8 43 and one of Tokyo's most popular districts, has recently added some Unusual new attractions. Transparent public toilets. That's right. The two new sets of see through restrooms have been installed in a bustling city centre famous for its busy pedestrian crossing. I know this sounds like this can't be, but They're actually part of an innovative project aimed at changing people's perceptions of public toilets designed by A Pritzker Prize winning architecture firm. The two new sets of transparent toilets have been installed in two parks. In the Tokyo area. A statement on the project's official website says there are two things we worry about when entering a public restroom, especially those located at a park. The first is cleanliness and the second is whether anyone is inside. So this designed tackles those two concerns by offering a toilet with glass walls that at first allows the public to see through from the outside. But once a user Anders the toilet and locks the door, the walls turn opaque. To provide privacy. The statement says. This allows users to check the cleanliness and whether anyone is using the toilet from the outside At night. The facility lights up the park like a beautiful lantern. About that now? Ah, one other item I wanted to pass along. And let me do this. Ah, this announcement like they do on television. When they show you something disturbing, this may be objectionable. I'm warning you in question. When you hear that you're sure to watch and call your neighbors and friends, right? Um Headline Flushing Public urinals can Spread Cove in 19, according to a new study. Everybody's selling these for like two thousand four nine or even at forty dollars some of them. It's insane you get a magnet and a sticker with it. This one is nine ninety nine so people are buying a bunch and I just wrote a little thing about what these are seeing. I've got one here. Let me show you if you're watching it. Facebook DOT com slash news junkie? And this is what it is. It's simple right is that is that the ones that the customer this is just a mockup of it doesn't have the logo or anything on it but these are a little bit different than the ones that get copper. So they're anti microbial doesn't hold all the viruses and stuff for long germs. If you have the door Knob here on on the studio you take that and you push down so you don't have to touch it and you can open those up. You can pull the poll ones. God knows when the last time it claimed that handle or haven't I mean it's filthy probably you can flush public was just one of those things that just magically happens in this house might actually. You can't go to the grocery store and you know when you see the Fridge. Doors in the freezer doors could pull those opens touch all that someone stepping on your foot. You can tap them and say. Hey you're stepping on my foot. You could probably hold this in brass knuckles somebody. Okay we pinched. That would make it a weapon. It's something we can't stabbed people sell you can hit the ATM pin pad without touching it and sign her name on most of the newer machines. You can put your debit card at gas stations. Hit the elevator button. Use your phone without touching the screen all of that stuff with a simple key like this and it comes with a magnet for game of magnets. Fortunately for something you the first five hundred blew the hell out a couple of hours and the Saint Patrick's Day magnets are gone. But we do have a ton of extra magnets different ones from the designs all over the years. And you're going to get one of those and a sticker along with your news junkie clean key but like I said look do do a live. Check your right now. Actually check the APP where we sell this stuff and earlier. We were down to just three hundred left so we had already sold seven hundred with a couple of social media posts this weekend and of course like are you. GonNa get a thousand. Moore's though I think we'll just sell these and have this be it okay so we are right now down to two hundred and eighty five clean keys. That is all we have. Those are going to sell today so get them while you can go to get sky. Wall DOT COM GTS KYW ALL DOT COM by one for you for your family members for whoever it gets you away from like ninety plus percent of the things that you have to touching public. You Wash your hands in the bathroom. And then he grabbed the dirty door handle. We all know this experience goes and you'll get used to using it. I've seen some people are like Donna. That silly to be honest. I don't want that I just want the magnet. Whatever but trust me I use this and I'm not one of these people who goes above and beyond and not some kind of crazy germophobic but it's nice it's like hey if I can protect myself a little bit as we go through all this crap with the simple key. That goes on my keychain and it's got a news junkie logo on both sides Bam oh I'll take it and you have to do trademark. Nobody else has ever use that right. You go to get Sky Wall Dot Com and get those while you can but those will almost definitely be sold out the second round selling out all thousand of them. I'm sure before the end of the show to get Sky Wall Dot Com. So I did watch this weekend. Watch the whole thing in fact even paid for it mostly because I couldn't find a free stream of the pay per view of C. O that went I did. I did find a stream on. Espn plus of the first. The first part of it. Because I don't have that and then I went and signed up and got the actual live event. And I said let's see. This is the first real major sporting event since all this stuff went down. There's GonNa be crowd. It's Jacksonville and I don't know any of these fighters but let's watch. It was awesome. It was awesome really and the crowd not being. There actually made things really interesting. So for instance you sit there and normally when there's a fight going on the crowd of ten thousand up to fifty thousand people is screaming and just that's most of what you hear is yeah. Put them in a body bag and all the things that they're screaming at these fighters but now you hear them heavy breathing you every punch you could hear it. Landing could hear perfectly the conversation between the corners and the fighters so like when they would go you know. Pull your punches up to this. Watch him when he does this. It was really kind of interesting. One moment that I thought was raping of that stone. They just like he can their skin with slapping skin and stuff all that but one moment was Joe Rogan. Always pops up in the interview to interview. I guess in the Octagon after the fights are going down and goes up there. And he's interviewing this guy's a great fight out there how you think he did Did Great I was excited. Everybody stays safe out there Blah Blah Blah and then. Joe Rogan goes. Let's say the guy's name is John Smith which it wasn't Geragos. John Smith everybody to know on the audience says it was like three people. His corner is going like this and it worked so much better. I think than even wwe. Because I think wwe Kinda thrives a little bit more off of the crowd being there. They're part of the show you when you go to see that you're part of thing because someone is anatomy. Someone's the hero smack. They have the whole entrance where they're staring. Everyone Dow Right. They did make it. Work just took a couple of trials and errors before they kind of locked it down their system. At least I think you have see showed that this can be done. They tested everybody. There was one fighter who came back positive. They scrapped the fight in quarantine that fighter. Everybody was out there and and doing their things safely if there was even a ring girl or whatever they call her just one. There was only one that could do it. The entire time thought. Maybe they could do without that but they they had a setup going. And there's another one on Wednesday Jacksonville and Saturday from Jacksonville and I really thought they pulled it off. Let me what you think at facebook dot com slash news junkie or via dispatch or anywhere else. You WanNa comment over the covid stuff just to knock it out of the way in a couple of minutes here. The case is going up. Overall cases are not really important anymore. It's the amount.

"Watching you follow all these rules of behavior engaging in the sort of behavior you consider normal. Normal. That's the thing norms of the behaviors we consider normal and the different Nord of influences of our different cultures. Tell us what is and is not normal or acceptable behavior. For instance, it's perfectly reasonable to wear a tuxedo to the prom. But not to a baseball game. It's perfectly, okay. To invite a clown to a children's birthday party. But not to a funeral. Why were you can argue? There's no real reason why just habits built up over time in our cultures. But that's not the case. There is a reason why norms serve a valuable function. In the book Galvin explains that evolution shaped, our brain. So that we are naturally in biological programmed to conform to normative influence study showed that infants prefer hand puppets that engage in our most fundamental socially normative behaviors like helping others to open a box full of toys is that preventing others opening that box or worse. Still opening the box and stealing the toys before the others. Could get to them by age three children will openly and vocally sanctioned other children who do things that are considered taboo in their cultures by saying, no, no you aren't supposed to do that. This predilection for creating and following norms makes us unique among animals, no other creature engages in behavior for purely normative reasons studies of non human primates and children who together are taught how to drop a ball into one of three boxes to get a reward will copy the behavior, no problem. But if they are then shown by another of their species that dropping the ball into a different box will also give you the reward only human children will switch to the new box. Other. Studies have shown this as well only humans will conform to the behavior of others. Just for the sake of conformity, even if the conformity is a relevant, even if the behaviors require us to violate the truth of our own senses or better judgement. Even if those behaviors harm ourselves or others why because norms serve a vital function human. Cultures developed norms to solve communal problems to reach goals and to deal with group threats the unites they allow us to quickly nearly ever loosely coordinate, and they help us to cooperate. They are here. Isto we perform them automatically and intuitively and the origin of most of our norms. Was the deal was some problem of collective action in the past. And since doing the thing the norm demands keep society bound together, we keep doing them either. Be don't really notice them or understand why we do so. Yes. Back to the topic at hand tight and loose cultures. Geffen says in her book that the major difference between all cultures is how people react when someone violates norm, for instance, in most of the United States if you do wear tuxedo to a baseball game people will just think of you as quirky. They might even reward you for it with praise and attention if you violate a more sacred norms. Say you wear a clown cost him to a funeral. You might get publicly shamed. But you're not going to be flogged or stoned. And it's not unlikely that somewhere right now. Someone is having a funeral where everyone is wearing clown costumes. The United States is a loose culture. We are perfectly. Okay. With someone dressed as Darth Vader playing a tubal riding a unicycle peddling del sidewalk, but in places like Singapore things are different in nineteen Ninety-four. An American teenager was sentenced there to four months in jail and a public caning for throwing eggs at cars. Singapore is a tight culture, even the lightest violations of norms. Bring strict sanctions, spitting on the street are not flushing public toilet. Would you a thousand dollar fine strictly enforced? There's no drinking of alcohol between ten thirty PM and seven AM strictly enforced..
