"Know that you're originally from canada. When did you move to the us I came down in a nineteen ninety four to permanently. I was actually had a congressional fellowship so i was in washington for a year and then went to michigan state for a year and been at florida state since nine hundred six. So you've been in the us for reading longtime right. Would you consider yourself as a canadian or a canadian american. Now i'm a us citizen and Still have family in canada and still try to visit a couple of times a year. But this is my home in tallahassee. And that's wonderful. I know that what i'm about to ask you is is a tough question because oftentimes it's harder for people to talk about themselves and put themselves into a box but i would love to learn a little bit about some of your core values to who you are and on your cultural identity. So how would you define new cultural identity. Certainly as you pointed out. I'm from canada so growing up. Some of the debates and controversies that we had in the sixties and seventies included a role of french and english languages and cultures in canada and the role of multiculturalism. That there was a lot of new canadians coming from different parts of the world and also their relationship with first nations who have often instill Experience discrimination ill treatment and so's debates. I think kind of shaped my sense of what it meant to be a canadian. And what meant to be a citizen in a country where you have those types of debates animating public discourse and when you're thinking about some of your core core values what are some of those things considering you know your background in canada and was issues of multiculturalism in the air i think Interest in other cultures is one thing that i've enjoyed and really benefited from over my life and also a respect for other cultures my own personal intercultural Experiences included working for my sister and brother-in-law and a farm in quebec when i was a teenager and then after high school doing church service project in mississippi and arkansas and united states and getting to know people in those cultures. So i think my i really do think that interest in other people other cultures one of core values and then trying to understand what it means to respect and understand each other. Sounds like you have a pretty multicultural upbringing. I know that you received your international affairs like myself but yours is from york university in canada than you got a fellowship that brought you closer to some of the south. Asian countries like india. And i know that you work is built on the foundations of diversity and you work with international students. You're very supportive of international students. You are teaching course on international communication. So when you're thinking about all of your personal experiences in canada in southeast asia on here in the united states can you give us some specifics. Specific examples of how these experiences shape your personal perspectives on international education. Certainly i think as a starting point We have to kind of understand that our personal experiences are one of many possible experiences that people might have in the world. So it's it's easy for students in the united states to think. Oh this is the way that television is. This is the way that people Communicate with each other or enjoy sports and so many of our cultural practices and focused primarily on media practices. we think. Oh that's how it's done and so a big part of my Focus on international. Communication with students is to try to understand how people use media. How the media organized. How cultures organized in different countries. So my courses themselves don't focus as much on the the interpersonal intercultural communication which we think of is intercultural competency. But i'm trying to understand media systems and media use in different countries around the world. Let's talk about diversity equity and inclusion and higher education because this is a term that you know we hear a lot about and people. Do you have a different conception of what diversity really is. And what am. I look like in colleges and universities because for some people this concept can be purely domestic as opposed to others it could involve a lot of internationalization and international aspects. So for you. What does diversity and inclusion mean here at fsu. And how are we growing this concept on our campus. Certainly starting from the domestic debates the united states diversity equity inclusion would say. Well how do we include the The groups that haven't had access to education public services and economic activity united states so making sure that people of color people from rural areas people from you know less wealthy backgrounds Have access to the opportunities that higher education provides and certainly. Fsu has really taken some major initiatives in that area with student. Success initiatives with the care program Trying to welcome really support students and not just getting them into the university but making sure they're going to be successful in getting the support from a cohort of friends and fellow students from faculty and staff. So i think that's one area of diversity equity inclusion is. Who are we serving in terms of the students. Considering the role of international students is also important because they bring through their personal experience and their relationships with people on campus windows into the world. That you can't get in a textbook or just in a video so you get to know people and build relationships and that's hard even if we're sharing the same space. It's hard to build those relationships so one of the programs on campus. That does a great job with that. Is the center for global engagement. That has a whole bunch of different programs like international coffee hour to facilitate the building of relationships between students from united states and countries around the world so i think domestic inclusion in our programs thinking about international students and i think perspectives that we have in our research questions are research are another important part of diversity that includes international so many of our faculty have research projects that are all around the world. Learning systems institute is a research unit that has projects a lot of them in africa but also in southeast asia and so really strong record of international education consulting and then part of our curriculum and program what we teach what the subjects. What's the content of courses. I think is another of diversity that that's the job of university to open up the world and have music languages cultural studies as well scientific and you know engineering studies that really engage the world and reach out to the

Assumptions about hurricane season face winds of change

"11. The planet is warming and it's having a notable impact on whether rising water temperatures are fueling a stronger and more active tropical storm season, and that is prompting scientists can to consider starting the Atlantic hurricane season two weeks earlier. Well, let's learn more now with Alison Wing. She's an assistant professor for Florida State University's Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science. She joins us on Skype. Thanks for being with us. We appreciate it. Good afternoon. Thanks for having me first to set this up. Describe the changes that we have been witnessing in terms of these earlier name tropical storms. We're starting to see the stuff earlier and earlier, aren't we? Yes. So in the last six hurricane seasons, all six of those years we have had storms named storms form in May before the official start of the hurricane season on June 1st and so It is something that seems to be happening more and more more frequently recently what our weather researchers considering besides an earlier hurricane season to accommodate these changes. One thing that the National Hurricane Center has already started. For this year. They're going to be issuing their tropical weather outlooks actually starting on May 15 now, which are issued every six hours during the season, just to provide overall overview of what's happening with weather in the tropics. And that would be something to help. You know, people be more aware of what's going on in the tropics, and you know if there's risks of tropical storms or hurricanes forming, But pushing the start to the actual official start to the season earlier is something that you know, could improve public awareness of the risk even more on because when we have these these storms Before hurricane season officially starts. The public isn't always necessarily as aware of the risk they may not have, you know, gotten their supplies and prepared their their homes yet for it, And so it's really a consideration and in order to recognize that we do have storms that happened before June 1st and you know what can we do to make the public As prepared as possible. And is there a way to try to impart to the public? How the storm should be rated like how strong we should expect? Storm's coming our way. It seems like sometimes there's confusion about that. Well, I think one thing to keep in mind is that the wind speed that we used to category categorize storms is category 12 and so on and so forth. That's only one aspect of the type of damage we can can receive from tropical storms and hurricanes. And so I think more and more. Forecasters are emphasizing the full range of impacts from winds be damaged, but also coastal flooding from storm surge inland flooding from rainfall and as well as the potential for tornadoes actually to be embedded inside hurricanes. And so the National Weather Service has some some products that emphasized those and I think that you know we going to see communication of this full range of impacts more and more, and you shouldn't focus solely on the

Duke has a COVID-19 positive, is eliminated from ACC tournament

"Duke has been removed from the acc tournament because of a positive covid nineteen tests within the program. The blue devils were scheduled to play. Florida state on thursday night they were only four point underdogs so it was a winnable game in an opportunity to keep their ncaa tournament hopes alive. But now will not happen. Florida state advances duke goes home and given that duke remained significantly on the wrong side of the bubble. We now know that coach k. Will not be in the ncaa tournament for the first time since one thousand nine hundred ninety five dukes run of twenty four straight ncaa tournament. Appearances is over its unofficial for now but it will become official sunday. Dead-leg your thoughts. Well the timing is obviously wild right perish. It's march eleventh. Year ago march eleventh. When the rudy gobert stuff happened. You know by no means. Am i saying his repeating itself. It obviously isn't although it has been interesting to see how the reaction to this has caused a little bit of freak out. I want to remind people that this is duke. Is now the sixth team to have this happen to them. This is not the first time a team. This month has been knocked out of its conference tournament because of covid positive There have been others And so because it's too can because it's a it's a conference tournament and it's march eleventh. People are freaking out just a little bit given the given the air but a source confirmed to me that this was duke's first positive in its coaches and players periods since the pandemic began they had not had a positive the entire season. Preseason offseason anything I had a source told me it was a player who do not play against louisville with all this concern then drifts to well as louisville an potentially you know in some uncertainty to a small degree. But really that's not the expectation here Louisville which has quite an interesting bubble case. Oh by the way it's going to get in but that resumes week We'll see You know what happens there. But there's no reason to believe that louisville should be jeopardy from an eligibility standpoint because of what happened with duke

I think quietly really in on their roster I. . think There's a line after Florida State and Louisville another tier if you will. . When we get to the teams after that? ? I listen. . I. . Have Been Wrong about FSU LIKE I say it was good humor here but be tournament picks or general projections I have been off on Fsu more often than been correct. . Efficacy was twenty, , six and five when the ACC last season and lost Trent forest loss Patrick Williams lost Devin for cell I mean those are the teams four best players they're not that it doesn't still have talent but. . That would be just a hell of a deal there. . If Leonard Hamilton could make that happen <hes> to combine them with Louisville, , real, , quick <hes>. . I I actually think. . It's I think that Louisville can be close to what Lewis last season it was ninth and Ken Palm. . It went twenty, , four seven it loses all five of its starters but. . I just again legit because we're doing this in real time like just like David Johnson Samuel Williamson are are two names that are that in my opinion need to be on our top one, , hundred one players and then they bring carly. . The top of the ACC is totally fascinating I. . Really do think it's Virginia and the other four we've mentioned. . Almost, , put them in any order. . I can't quite see Louisville being top team in the league I can't get there but I think it could be super competitive and everyone below Virginia they're is GonNa make for an interesting race we had in our voting Miami coming in at six and then Syracuse at seven and it's interesting like. . Last season I remember talking about this briefly and then you know pain. . Democrats and everything's over. . So whatever. . But. . Here's Syracuse. . Again picked seventh in our preseason poll ACC poll. . In terms of the panelists, , some people had them as low as nine. . I think you had eight I had him seven. . "I alluded to even vigne jimbo's last season there they were gonna miserable game if they didn't reschedule monroe so this kind of already been happening <hes> you couldn't boot guys off the team because the a._p._r. Or was already so low you would have became an eligible so taggart's dealing with a lot of jimbo's is that weren't made to go to class. That didn't have to lift right. It was one of the worst worst i teams in the country in terms of working out and getting in the weight room. That's changed a little bit. The vibe is different here in quite frankly f._s._u. Doesn't have the money to buy him outright now so i think he is here at least another year. I do think they make a bowl game. This season the schedule sets up for it but i can tell you right now. Twenty twenty in this is massive for willie tagger. He not only has to have a winning season. I think he needs to get to eight wins. He needs to get to nine wins because right now as it stands despite all the turmoil going on on here. Willie taggart has the eight best recruiting class in the country the best in the state of florida. There's a five star prospect number. One defensive player in the country's choosing between in alabama and florida state any decisions going to be based on if florida state looks like they've progressed this year which is the big question for a lot of recruits in that twenty twenty class so this season is massive for willie taggart if you can get eight or nine wins you're gonna land even more guys that are contemplating coming here in that'll be a big way to resurrect this program awfully interesting program to keep tabs on things shape up relatively well. "Back in play for Bryce Harper it appeared that it was down to three teams the giants. The White Sox and the nationals as well. As the Phillies those three plus the Philadelphia Phillies and appeared that Philadelphia was going to close the deal. Well, now the dodgers reached out the Harper and his agent two weeks ago wanting to get that short term deal BUSTER only ESPN major league baseball insider when he was on the volcano show. Why would Harper walkaway from a long deal for short term deal Bryce Harper. And you decide you know, what I'd rather play for the dodgers. I'd rather play for the giants. It would basically be like one hundred and seventy five to two hundred million dollar gamble. And you would say, you know, what? I'd rather shorter term deal. I'd rather not playing for whatever reasons are, but Manny be walking away from a lot of money. The auntie rolls on Twitter colon ESPN and says I think he will sign with the San Francisco Giants. I don't know why just a strange feeling. There's a lotta strange going around now with Bryce Harper. The dodgers have his ear, but how much is he going to listen, especially when so much money could be left on the table in terms of a long term deal. Philadelphia's made pretty pretty clear. Pretty pretty clear that hey, you're the guy we want. Now, we thought about Manny Machado, but he's no longer available. You're the guy that we want now because you're the biggest fish still out there. A major league baseball, but often the dodgers got involved. And now Bryce Harper's delaying that decision until the end of the week. Maybe even a little bit longer, even though spring training games have already gotten started a major league baseball bus, the only once again to ESPN major league baseball insider when he was on the wheel case, oh, he said, this is what the Phillies needs to do when it comes to Bryce Harper the Phillies, you might be starting to wonder does this guy want to actually play here with the kind of delays going on here. If I'm sitting in John Middleton shoe, the owner of the Phillies, I'm calling Scott forest and saying look we've been talking for a long time. We we we feel very confident that we have the biggest offer on the table. If you wanna come here and take the money, if he don't you get twenty four hours to turn it down or forty eight hours, and it allows the Phillies to mobile, okay? Can you imagine Phillies have to move on from Bryce Harper? When it seemed that they were going to be the team to get him. And then the dodgers slide on in their give short term money a good amount of money. And then the out of the block when it comes to Bryce Harper major league baseball needs either place. He'd working you work in Philadelphia. You got the second biggest star major league baseball. The biggest stars Mike trout, even though Mike charter terms is at times has been off the off the range because it's not any good and he plays in the west coast. But you got plan for the dodgers or the Phillies, and that's going to generate attention. They're playing Beulah can't stand. Bryce harper. Want to see if he's going to fail that Plainfield ally. Bryce Harper once can make your work at the pushing his way out of the Washington nationals from that ball club. So it's not a case of major league baseball needing him in LA or Philly. Here's what it comes down to the owners don't care how looks. Many because they are not giving into to the players and the agents rice Harper picked the wrong time to be a free agent. A major league baseball five six years ago. You know, for sure Bryce Harper is getting eight years probably thirty three hundred twenty million dollars for ten years possibly four hundred million dollars with the numbers. He was able to put up with the Washington nationals. Eat on time. To be a free agent in major league baseball. And now the weight by take the Phillies offer when it seems that he's waffling on that now, especially the dodgers that may be more of a player any of us realize, Freddie, Coleman on Freddie and Fitz Simons on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. I wonder how much of this is going to be the new normal in major league baseball. I'm not talking about the dodgers sliding into the last second Jeff passan ESPN major league baseball insider when he was on sports center. This is what he had to say why the dodgers decided this time to say, let's have a conversation with Bryce Harper. It was just a stop in check. That's all they stopped over in Las Vegas. They thought hey, let's discuss a five six year deal somewhere in that vicinity. And that's what the dodgers want. They're looking at a short term deal. They don't want to commit to the decade plus long deal that Bryce Harper wants. And that's why at this point even though they have as much money as they do even though they have the incentive to get Bryce Harper. This. Doesn't seem like a match that's going to happen in less the dodgers stretch beyond that short-term deal that they'd like or unless Bryce Harper says it's better to be in Los Angeles than it is to be in Philadelphia. That possibility in my opinion is definitely out there. If he's delaying this decision until later on the week waiting to see exactly kind of offers going to be there from the Los Angeles Dodgers. But I wonder how much of this will continue to be the new normal or the normal and major league baseball. The owners have set the bar. The owners have laid down the gauntlet. Look, we know San Diego gave him ten years three hundred million Machado, you you can't expect that from us Brice. Philadelphia. Phillip does not wanna give him ten years with a contract. They don't want to do that. Now, they get desperate. They will. I went how desperate they are going to be. They mailing a Bryce Harper said will top off at seven possibly eight. We're not giving you a double digit deal like that. In terms of years. We're not going to do that. And if you're Bryce Harper and Scott Boras, you look and say, well, maybe the pack is played that paid that much. Manny machado. And he's about to disappear from major league baseball for the next two to three years because the Padres are not going to be any good would to go to team in the dodgers those World Series last year or go to Tina Philadelphia Phillies. We're that much closer with me getting into the playoffs in the National League and out at least this is gonna continue to be the norm of the major league baseball players in agents are going to be completely upset about it even more upset than they are. Now, the owners don't care how it looks. They are making way too much money. So worried about your feelings when it comes to Bryce Harper when it comes to Adam Jones when it comes to Craig kimbrel. Greg Kimble still unsigned, by the way. Over three hundred thirty saves can't find a team because owners like we're not giving you that kind of money when I give you a long term contract deal with their go play somewhere else. And the players are getting mad about it. But this may be their normal as long as they are in major league baseball lawyers sets Robert Kraft words, I thought I would never have put in the same sentence. That's next on ESPN radio. Anybody.

That's a great point. Because we mentioned that on Friday when this story first broke, it was definitely made sure that he was not part of a sex trafficking. Ring Robert Kraft was not the leader of a sex trafficking ring. But what was going on when he was in the place was next to each other? It's still a bad look. Anyway, no matter how you slice it. But that has gotten lost in the whole Robert Kraft sauce because of his name because liberty and is connected. The National Football League based on what I've read about this. You know, when you when you trafficking people in to do things, they don't wanna do against their will on thinking. That's breaking the law. I'm not the smartest person in the world. But I do know that but that got lost. Because of all my God, Robert Kraft is seventy seven years of age. "Or you are indigent we treat all defendants said the same and no one gets any special Justice in Palm Beach county. Now, let's be honest. Well, grown folks here, right? Robert Kraft is not going to see the inside of a jail cell. This is not as situation where Robert Kraft is going to have to look at years or even months even hours behind jail. No, he's not gonna be in the gray bar hotel. He's not gonna be in the who scowl the pokey the big house. He's not gonna see any jail time because of this, but the reputation jail could be worse because Robert Kraft and the patriots have always been big about their reputation and not so much. What you think about it? But what they think about it what they wanna maintain the whole image being put out there of the patriot way and the patriot organization, and we do things the right way. We don't keep people around who do things the wrong way. We're not going to have any of that. Now, you're right and wrong is going to be different than the patriots, right and wrong. But that's all they care about. Hey that was right. That was wrong. That's how we feel about that whole reputation because Robert Kraft. Has built his name. Not just being shrewd businessman, not just on hiring the right people or putting the right people in place when it comes to Bill bell check, for example. But he's always been big on reputation and making sure that that reputation may not be pristine may not be pure, but more than anybody else wants to give the patriots credit for he's not going to see any jail time, in my opinion. I don't see that happening. They may look and say all right seventy seven years of age. Do we really want to have that hill and plan out flag on to put Robert Kraft in jail? Even though he was on video twice. We're not gonna do that. But that reputation jail could be a lot worse for a guy that has so much to lose. Even though he's not gonna lose the team. Even though he's not gonna lose any freedom time by going to jail, but that reputation it could be big speaking of that. Did you see who was there to give them a bro hug when he got off the plane? Tom Brady, captain America himself, Tom Brady was there to say, Robert it's going to be okay. It's gonna be all right. We're gonna find a way to get with this and get out of this Bill Belichick though. Plane lands Robert Kraft gets off the plane Kara Tom Brady pulls up. They bro hug it nobility. No Bill, Bill Belichick anywhere. Nowhere to be found. I found that interesting. Maybe that's just me Bryson Virginia triple eight say ESPN, Bryce, we have to say about this on Freddie and Fitz. ESPN radio. Well, what you were just saying about Tom Brady. I didn't realize he was right there. Maybe maybe that's one of the reasons he wouldn't give up to the NFL. No. Bryce, I put it on the t for you paid in the middle of the fairway. So I'm not going to take you to task for that. When my friend well done. Until you. Yeah. So the thing about it. And you're right. It is going to be at hit on on on the reputation of Robert Kraft. And it is it is obviously frowned upon in our Spidey. It is illegal to solicit prostitution. But I think when you dig deeper in the story the thing that people really are talking about is the reason this was such a big thing is because it was the trafficking of issue where people were immigrants were brought to the United States under the impression that they were going to have legitimate job. Yup. And then they were forced into sex work without without their consent. And that's the biggest problem someone like Robert Kraft. I mean, even someone with much less means Robert Kraft should have the ability to find sex workers that are willingly doing it. And to not have that sort of that sort of judgment to me. He is is is his is his worst miss that not not not going.

"Thank you very much them against us by the hang out with us. They hit thanks to shell Pennzoil performance line. I was talking to my dad about this. I figure who better to talk about a seventy seven year old man having issues being out there in public than a man who is the same age that does not have any issues on my dad. He doesn't have any issues other than being my father. And as a dad Robert Kraft allegations on Friday, then he was charged on on Monday. Case you missed it. Authorities say the owner of the patriots visit a massage parlor for sex acts on the morning of the AFC championship game. He attended the game in Kansas City later that day, and according to documents released by the Palm Beach state attorney's office Monday that was the second time Robert Kraft had gone to that power in a twenty four hour period. So I figured my dad's the same age Robert Kraft, my dad, just turned seventy five only two years younger than Robert Kraft as a dad, you're not necessarily what you love my mom, right goes. Yes, don't start anything. And I said, so why would Robert Kraft do something like this? It can't just be about. He's too big and too powerful. And that worried about anything else. He said son, maybe a seventy seven years of age. Just a lonely old, man. As a daddy his girlfriend half his age I seen her. She looks damn good. He said son and his wife die as a two thousand eleven he goes nothing, and nobody can replace that. Maybe it's just a lonely old, man. And that's the way he finds his way to that pain. That's not going to go away. And I've thought about that. And I said, okay, my dad's not crazy when it comes to stuff like this is still is strange. According to reports that Robert Kraft was the only person caught on camera, according to Michelle Steele, ESPN NFL reporter, Jupiter, Florida. Police department filed these charges. Soliciting prostitution with the state attorney, Jerry Palm Beach state attorney needs to decide whether he's going to keep both of these charges. And I know that you mentioned that twenty five of these guys were caught on tape. Robert Kraft is the only one that was caught white. What what did that issue today? What are the state attorney decides to arrest him for one or both of these count not once but twice and he went to the same parlor over a twenty four hour period with the AFC championship game going to be played in Kansas City. Now, we know he was not going to play in that game. And that thought back when my dad said son, maybe he's just a lonely old, man. And it can't just be about. It's hard to believe. I'm a firm believer in this. Anybody is capable of anything at anytime. Alan Iverson said it best. He says you never know people until you're round them onto you live with them. So it's very, easy, Robert Kraft. Oh my goodness. This upstanding guy. How could he put himself in that situation? He was caught on tape. Not once but twice. Alan Iverson, told you anybody is capable of anything at anytime, and even Robert Kraft who's been a major player in the National Football League. A stone cold good citizen in the NFL and outside the NFL fell victim to maybe just being a lonely old, man. Even though he has half his age, even though he is seventy seven. Years of age. You can always join the conversation at triple eight say ESPN, eight eight eight seven nine three seven seven six, Freddie. Coleman on Freddie and Fitz Simons on ESPN radio. Now, we go back to how powerful he is. Here's man that's not only an NFL owner, but he is worth six billion dollars. I said on Friday, if I'm Robert Kraft, and I'm seventy seven years of age, and I have a bout of loneliness, and I'm worth six billion dollars. I'm not going to Jupiter Florida to try to find some happiness. I'm gonna make sure the happiness comes to me where nobody can see that. No cameras are going to be around. But Dave ehrenberg is the Florida state attorney at a press conference. He says, I know he's big and powerful. I know he seems to be a nice guy, but I can assure you that our office treats everyone the same. Whether you have a lot of money,.

"The best part of your day. Well, I mean, and I said, no, wow. Wow. Asia's through that out make make you and I are not friends anymore. Well, you know, I mean Randy Scott is like I love Randy. But you're hanging out with the wrong raiders fan. Like, you still don't understand how Randy is a raiders fan. It makes no sense. Well, you should talk some sense until I wish somebody at some point in my life would have done that for me. The Lakers, obviously have been a topic of conversation tonight because of the way they played the last few games, they are playing a bad Memphis team. And and it's it's kind of what we should start expecting. I guess it's not that they're playing poorly distress this. They're not playing poorly. If you read the stat line, but they are losing to Memphis right now. Forty two thirty six is the score nine zero six to go in the game. And it's funny because these are the reminders sometimes the the story of the game is a little different than what what we see on the stat line because Brandon Ingram right now with eleven points LeBron with eight points, they're shooting the ball pretty well. They're shooting sixty four percent from the field into the line one. It's I'm looking at it in from the from the line from the numbers. I'd sit here and say games going pretty well. But it it's not Memphis winning the game. So three it's really, but it's again, though, it's a bad Memphis team. And I think that it's time to at least layer some expectations on. What the Lakers are going to have to do. We can have a conversation all day long about what it means. If this team doesn't meet the may make the playoffs and as much as it's easy to say. Well, what did we expect during the Western Conference? You gotta beat bad teams. Hold on. And I'm just going to say this because greater basketball minds than ours. Combined have pointed out a couple of things to us. Yes. The Lakers have lost to bad teams like pelicans and the next, but I want to remind you that the Knicks even when they're trying to tank can't take successfully, and they hung one hundred and thirty on the Spurs last night and actually won the game. Right. But look at the bulls. The bulls are awful and look how I I don't wanna use the word good. But look how not awful, not terribly sake. They've been lately. Right. The magic they're not as bad as they used to be. But the magic snap the raptor seven game win streak last night. I realize that teams beat good teams all the time here and there, but when you lose to the Knicks, and you lose to the pelicans. And now you're down. I know it's only four points. But now you're down to the fourteenth, seeded grizzly. No, I'm not. I surely in the game. I know you're right. I'm not saying anything darn right? I'm right. I I will say this all I will say is it if you're LeBron and you're coming out here saying we've got to find that next energy. We've gotta find that next that whatever that next year is and people have to play with more intensity. You don't wanna come out of the first quarter with the deficit to a bad Memphis team Ingram's found. The next scariest got fourteen points for a quarter and a half. Well, indeed mcmenamin did a nice job of pointing out that hey, some of the young guys have played. Well, even though in Tyson Chandler been the game seven minutes. You've got zero championship hasn't Kyle cruise should find your next year. Wow. You are fired up. Suddenly, you're fired. You know who else was fired up? Always Stephen a. The host of the Stephen a Smith show, which you can check out on ESPN radio, obviously every single Monday through Friday. He has no issue. We we we gave LeBron little Reefer Lear. Steven A does not agree with us. He's all in till LeBron out of teammates. Check this out defensively. They're missing assignments. They're not doing the things that they're supposed to do. They're not making open shots consistently enough. You got people sitting there talking about what what is this? The right approach will abroad. What other approaches he's supposed to take both? Lebron james. I'd be saying the same thing. I want to hear about guys talk about they want to trade a block by acting like they're a bunch of babies Magic Johnson was right? They're not babies. This is pro sports. Wow. And he's not wrong, but you have to know your audience and in part of being a good leader means leading the guys that you've got a knowing your audience, Mike, my tendency in life when things aren't going well, and I'm working with people like if we were playing a show back in the day and things one poorly. My first thing to do would be would just go up and yellow somebody. That's what I would do like when I was in charge of all of that. I would go up to the drummer. And I would just lose my mind. Like what the heck were you doing tonight's worship? You've ever played you stink. And what did they get your? And I'll tell you like Mike guitar if I if I talked to the star player like that he he loved it. I did that wants to the drummer. And the guy went into a shell and didn't talk to me for four days. And it was really sad. He didn't handle that. Well, you have to step back at some point and say, hey, you know, your your style of getting the most out of the people around you is only working if you're actually getting the most out of the people around you are the Lakers getting the most out of all of the guys if the answer to that is no, and whatever we think. Lebron's should be doing isn't the right thing. Because it's not getting the result. I think you, and I have had this conversation before about the decision that LeBron made to move to the Lakers was sort of about where he wasn't his life. And what he was trying to accomplish. Right. Do you wanna play with your buddies? You want the money? Do you want the legacy whatever at this point in LeBron's career? It's it's it's the legacy play. Right. He's won the championships. Brought the championship to Cleveland. So the question is what's next? How can he build the brand even more right? Well, part of that thing that he's got going right now is taking a team that hasn't been great a bunch of young guys and taking them to the next level. He's not doing a very good job of that so far, and if he wants to be part of his legacy if you want to be known as the greatest NBA player of all time, you need to do a better job of this. Because part of being great is making those around you great as well. And he's not doing that right now. Well, and I don't think he's if we're looking for greatness as some sort of an indication. Of getting the most out of players about around the young guys. We may never see that. I'm not sure how many of these young guys will be around in a year. No matter what happens at this point. I mean, this is going to be a team that's trying to address their roster by getting to max value players next year. They're going to try and add as much star powers. They possibly can around them. And then LeBron's going to try and will stars to be even brighter stars. And maybe that's what he's great. You know? Maybe maybe his greatness is. I'm finding a way to get more out of AD. Maybe that's more out of Kawai, whatever that's gonna be. Maybe that's the only calling card left towards greatness. Because if we wanted to see him help develop young guys to be great. That's not happening. Now is he has. Sound like a ridiculous question is he himself as good as he used to be is that part of it to God? I mean, do do we think LeBron today would be LeBron of six years ago one on one now I mean, and that's where he's still a physical specimen, and I will say this. I think it's a it's an incredible testament to the NBA I'm always championing the star power that they have been. I think one of the great things about the NBA right now is if you want to have a conversation not not not about legacy not about anything other than right now. Today, you got a one night you want you want a guy on the court. There will be people that will make an argument for hardened for Durant for Steph. One one series game seven game series who won seven game series back's against the wall waiter, take everything who do you want. Katie. I think he's the hardest to defend right now. I think katie's the hardest person defended the NBA I still think I might go with LeBron because he's proven he can do that. And I think he's a little I think at the end of the day he's mentally tougher than Katie. No doubt about that. You don't I don't think the katie's a bad choice. I just think that LeBron has proven. He can do a lot with a little and he hasn't like there's not that much follow. No, you're right. Yeah. I mean that's fair. I think you could make a reasonable argument for harden for Steph for Katie for for Anthony Davis for Kawhi Yanni's goddess. But that's also a huge, you know, think about it. If you're having a conversation about quarterbacks in the NFL, how deep can you go before you realize that you are really treading water on quarterbacks in the NFL right now where? Maybe five deep before you're like. In the NBA right now. I think what we're seeing is this between the the established guys in the new guys. And the impact you have when there are so few people on the court, right? Like a star in the NBA means so much more than it. Does. I think in any other sport. Because the limited guys on the court. I'm looking at it saying, okay, I think it's one of the true brand statements for the NBA. There are guys that can play there. This many guys they can play at that high of a level. Brandon Ingram is up to seventeen points, by the way. Bradley's grizzly still lead by four but Ingram has having team. You know, and this is one of those nights where they're going to have to figure out the other side of the Lakers. And we know this is part of their issue is been on the defensive end of the floor. I mean are they going to at some point play any defense because you got anything just any defence a little bit of defense. I'm not asking for a full on effort just a little bit of defense. But we're going to have all eyes on this. Because let's be honest if the grizzlies come out and do this and the Lakers continue to lose two teams that they need to be better than this is going to be the conversation after every loss it will mount. And that's part of the problem here tonight, the grizzlies are outrebounding the Lakers, that's the shootings very similar runs. Still only has eight points. But the the rebounding has that's that is the difference. So again defense anything we continually trust Ron we'll just take over and it will be enough. No because his father time it's going to take over at some point still undefeated. And if he can't figure out a way to take over and they lose to the grizzlies. Somehow some way I'm just saying Golic and wingo. Tomorrow morning is going to be all about what's wrong with the Lakers..

"This news just in according to the or Florida police department Robert Kraft, seventy seven year old owner of the patriots has been charged with two cows of soliciting prostitution at Jupiter day spa craft spokesperson, categorically denies the charges but the Jupiter. Police department says there's videotape evidence. Can make at this point is that he has been charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution again. It's not a headline that the patriots Robert Kraft, the NFL this point. Time, but everybody's have. Spain and Fitz on ESPN radio the ESPN app and siriusxm channel eighty tastes and Fitz, Nicole Briscoe in for Sarah Spain, and as you just heard, obviously, the the news of the day Robert Kraft has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution. And this is so difficult to figure out how to move forward from an NFL standpoint, Nicole because let's face it, Robert Kraft isn't just a known. He's not he's not he's not the owner of the lions or the owner of the Texans or the owner of the titans like he's not somebody that if he were standing on a street corners fairly nondescript too, many non diehard fans, he's one of the faces of the NFL, and that makes it difficult when you're trying to figure out what to do with the information because he's also sort of a brand a brand that's represented a certain way, we can say whatever we want about. The patriots is an organisation Robert Kraft. Is sort of a brand that has been sold to everybody as a certain type of guy. Like, I remember the first time I was in Foxborough. We took a tour of all of the things that Robert Kraft had contributed to in the Foxborough area, the the craft YMCA in Foxborough is gorgeous. Like, it's it's alarming, and you think about the philanthropy and the money given to the area and what he's done and how he's been active in. And you know, we think of as sort of like, everybody's happy grandpa. He's live. He's living large believing. Right. And and it's cute when your Grandpa's party, and with Cardi B, it's not cute when your Grandpa's this in a massage parlor, gross, and all the things that you just said sort of make me feel a little bit cheated because I feel like we have been sold. We've been sold this image. This. Conservative sort of holier than thou every time he talks about his late wife. It's the my loving dear late wife come up with some glowing way to speak of her. And I'm not saying I bought it this whole time. But I'm not saying I thought that this was going on either. An and because of that I sort of feel like I've I've been cheated. I've been lied to. And I find it a bit annoying that maybe maybe sort of L a little bit. It's just like this is so unseemly in so gross. I'm gonna ask a tough question. This is legitimately a tough question. If he had just gone to a street corner and pick somebody up from a street corner. Would it would it have the same effect? I think and the reason I ask that is because the the human trafficking part of this is such a major part of what makes it difficult for everybody to to cover, and let's be transparent. He's been he he's he's charged been brought on a misdemeanor soliciting prostitution. There's no indication as of yet that he knew anything about the traffic going on. However, it just feels Ekier for two years because of the traffic. So for me, I think what I find it gross. Yes. If it was just he went to the street corner. And it was soliciting in that way. Yes. It's gross. But I'm not as offended, and I think it boils down to sort of the the idea of content. If you go to the street corner, I feel like that's a a business. This is the oddest conversation. I've ever had. Sorry. This is a difficult business transaction between two people who know exactly what they're getting into with this particular situation. And and look let's be honest as we had Michelle Steele line. There is no one who is saying that Robert Kraft knew that this was a human trafficking situation. There is no tie there. But the problem is if that was the situation as police have said is there, they're alleging this was a human trafficking situation that takes the idea of consent out of it for me, and it makes it worse. Because now you've got these people at this orchids of Asia day spa. Who aren't there because they're trying to earn a dollar? They're there for their livelihood in a way that we can't even wrap our minds around. There's no consents. And that is where I am deeply disturbed. I'm also, and I'll be honest. I said this earlier I'm disturbed that it took six months for the police to gather all the elements that they needed for this investigation. Because I realized that this is how investigations are done. But they knew that there was a problem. That's why the investigation happened. And if it took them six months of them somebody's sitting back in washing. Women continually be victimized. It's just it's awful. And it's tragic, and and it comes back to one of the most difficult parts of this is that absolute innocence is being proclaimed by Robert clap grabbed. Now, according to the affidavit again, go Google it. If you want to see it it's very graphic. So graphic very graphic. They say they have video evidence of it. There isn't a lot of middle ground in this. So I have a hard time to Michelle's point in many people's point at this point is like, hey, it's a misdemeanor. It's going to get pled down. That's probably what's going to happen. I don't know how you can proclaim. You're innocent so strongly in loudly with this video and then walk back and take a plea deal. So how they're going to spin it. And and spin is the only way you can. But even if they do spend this. I just don't know how they're going to spin it, and I'm going to be like, oh, okay. That makes sense now. And that's why I expect after it's all said and done for the NFL to come back in and. Lay down a heavy punishment. I mean, I expect that heavy are we talking a lot of money six seven game suspension like they they live on earth. Or are we talking about? No, this is you need to wash your hands of the NFL. And you're done you need to sell the team. We need the Kraft family out. I think that honestly the they'll probably levee something in the range of six or eight game suspension and a massive dollar amount. That's what it feels like if I will say this. If they did if they did come in and say, you know, what we don't want to be associated with that for our brand anymore, and you did it. And so you can't own a team. I wouldn't have hard time with that that comes back to my punishment because you're asking a man to sell his dynasty at the the prime. That's the that's one of the most difficult part. That's the same thing. We saw that would they clippers. You know? It's like, hey, you know, Donald sterling to sell the team like, oh, shucks, you sell the team for a multi-billion dollar profit. So that is what part of what makes it hard straight ahead. Dodgers fans, Bryce Harper. We've got updates all over baseball. We'll get into it next. Spain and Fitz it's.

"To jump the gun and decide you've got everything figured out. When reports start to leak, and you start to get information on things like things like charges, and that's what we're dealing with. Now is Robert Kraft has been charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution in Florida. The question is how do you get clarity? And understanding from the smartest people around that can help you cover it. And that's what we're trying to do. Spain and Fitz on ESPN radio the ESPN app. Siriusxm channel eighty Jason Fitz. Mcdougal Briscoe Nicole in for Sarah. And we've been talking a lot about Robert Kraft. But part of the debate part of the discussion, I should say at this point is about trying to to wrap our heads around. What all of this means what what exactly is in front of Robert Kraft, and frankly where it goes from here. So we're presented by progressive insurance. We're going to head to the shell Pennzoil performance line. We're ESPN's, Michelle. Steele joins us to help us. Get some of that under. Standing michelle. Thanks for the time. You're there. What's the local reaction to this story? Ben at this point. Because I just came inside from one of our live heads, and we were asked by a woman from Florida asking, you know, why we were why was ESPN outside the courtroom told her. Shooting was. You know, she put her hand to her mouth like, you know, as the as they say the cheese gotta aware that away you're tasking. When you go out. I think she met like Robert have been disguised or something like that. Just based off of that and dodo evidence that we just came across this evening. I think that people really really shocked, and I think that they should be Robert Kraft is not just a New England neither fixture around here in Palm Beach. She's known as a great philanthropist. She's known as a great supporter. Ironically of the most organizations that try to prevent situations. Like, the one that we are learning about more in south Florida with the parlors and human trafficking and prostitution and everything else the locally action. Honestly is just a shocking surprise Jason is I honestly think that I fall in the same category. And I asked Jason this earlier is like how did some of the things that we saw today in the affidavit come out impact sort of what you thought of this. And I'll be honest like I knew what the charges were going to be. But then when the affidavit when we see sort of the the graphic description of things, it's it only adds to the shock of it. So. So from someone is there in in being a part of the press conference in listening to the Palm Beach prosecutor's office speak. What did we learn today? Yeah. So a couple of different things really stood out to Nicole. You no one is without a doubt. Timing. Right. I mean, it's it's so stunning that January nineteen in January twentieth or allegedly win those events took place. Unique to end of the AFC championship game. I'm sure you guys already addressed this. But you know, it's worth mentioning again because it is so funny, you know, and not only were those within twenty four hours of each other. And this is the second thing that really took me aback, but they actually pulled over his car on January nineteen that was the first visit checked his ID, even though he was a passenger in the car and that allowed the police to positively affirm that it was Robert Kraft. And then he went back the next day. To me. That's an indication of how little she suspected that. He's part of what would end up. A larger sting one that involves over ten business is at this point. Shutdown. Defendants potentially millions of dollars and craft. Really did not know that. Allege that he knew what we're talking to Michelle. Steele on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Spain and Fitz Jason Fitz, Nicole Briscoe Luma's for Sarah Spain. So obviously at this point. He's loudly proclaiming he's done. Nothing illegal as this unfolds. How do you expect? I mean, how do you expect them to go out and and deal with that moving forward? Yeah. And by the way, I should mention that. I did. She would be an oversight on my part. The reporter for sportscenter down here in Florida covering this case not to check in with craft spokesman, and I did not get a response back. That tells me they are sticking by that initial response. I they sent out on Friday, which is very unequivocally deny that he engaged in any legal activity guy is that he's taking this very seriously. He's hired from big guns down here outside counsel. Jack old name. I I'd actually not heard the name before. But I'm told that she's really well regarded and in this area, she's practice criminal defense law for something like thirty years, and he's best known for actually being on the defense team that he's obviously not in the sports world name is Jeffrey Epstein's, but he's a multimillionaire. Well known as a sex offender, and this is this is the defense lawyer who Robert Kraft has selected now that we know today for sure that he doesn't need to appear to be processed. He doesn't have to appear even at his arraignment. You know, this case very much is in the hands of jackal burger, the defense attorney and the prosecutors to kind of figure out, you know, all right? Are we gonna play the fun out? Are we going to go to trial highly doubt that because they've got video evidence? I mean. That, you know, most likely outcome here is is that he he plays this out gets community service fine and has to take that class. Okay. So let's let's talk about the video evidence. And the the pictures that could come out of this. You said it earlier this the sunshine laws in Florida, some of the the broader laws in in the country. What could we see in terms of what the police have for their evidence? Yeah. My understanding at this point is that for sure he's off the top like crafts attorney will get everything that all the video evidence that they have including whatever happens inside the fall also get any other paper evidence. You know, I know that the police actually did what's called a trash poll also known as a dumpster dive behind the massage parlor, and they found an excel spreadsheet at all this financial information. I'm assuming that craft attorneys. That as well. And I'm told that Florida's called yes. Sunshine laws if the sensually transparency laws are really really strong down here. So I wouldn't be surprised if that video at least of him entering and exiting this ball eventually man in public hands. I mean, this might not not even be at TMZ situation where you know, who knows how they got. It might be a situation where the police literally relief is that I'm actually talking to the state attorney today, if I could not believe that they would possibly really the video of what happened inside and he'd been. Yeah. There's like a provision where if something is pornographic, they wouldn't do that. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he Robert Kraft in shape or form, perhaps even by the end of the week of him at least entering an accident this massage parlor and guys. I want to underline here. It is a misdemeanor. You know? This is not a song. We're talking about for somebody in his. You know who? So prominent he go on Shaw. He's still the head of the patriots organization. It's just it's just a message massive embarrassment for him at this point. It's a misdemeanor. But there are a couple of key phrases in this obviously one he's been charged with the the solicitation, but we keep hearing the phrase human trafficking, and I know a bit ago that you said is not alleged that he knew about the human trafficking element to this is why is that an important distinction. Well, it's because trafficking is a crime. And that would elevate this to a much more serious enough. So that's why that's important. There is nothing in the charging documents that indicates or alleges that she knew about the underlying human trafficking. That's the whole reason. But he got caught up that he got by things in this investigation is because. Human trafficking is a real issue. And it's a real issue in south Florida, if alleged that, you know, these women were traffic they were coming here for what they thought when the job then massage parlor and forced to be sex worker is that. That is horrific and diet why they decided to do this investigation across so many businesses agencies counties tax down here in south Florida. But yeah, I do want to emphasize that there is well occasion that craft knew that these women for traffic, but I will say that the prosecutor said at this time, so maybe they're doing some more digging. Here. The big question, of course, is why why would a guy is worth six point six billion dollars. We went to this over the weekend the close by over the weekend of it's like next to a nail salon a Thai restaurant outback steakhouse. I mean, it's the most nondescript I mean, maybe I'm answering my own question. But it's most nondescript staying in the strip mall, just like an average, you know, mom and pop business, and they were charging like fifty nine dollars for massages. Just. Weird to me Jupiter's, not that close to Palm Beach. It's about a thirty minute drive. It's it's odd teeth still that he chose that place. And why would he do that? But we just haven't put his story. Hopefully that'll emerging the next next days and weeks follow it as it continues to unfold by following her at ESPN, Michelle, Michelle Steele. Thanks so much for the time. We appreciate all your insights extra joining us. Yeah. You bet you guys brought to you by Pennzoil synthetics taking synthetic motor oil performance to all whole new level. Make the switch to Pennzoil synthetics today. Straight ahead when Robert Kraft when Robert Kraft returns to the patriots. There's one thing that Nicole doesn't want to hear the owners say we'll tell you what that is next. Spain and Fitz on ESPN radio anybody who.

"At four winds casino in south bend along with Adam dollar and crisp black childhood with you as we lead you into nerdy. Football's a take on Florida's state as a five thirty pre game right here on the home of the Irish ESPN one thousand and Adam undefeated Notre Dame will be without a quarterback. He and book. Brandon wimbush will get the start against the Knowles today. Even though Jerko fill your bitch. The freshman quarterback is what are the win. But when when Bush was the quarterback in the first three games of the season. He was solid. He was not prolific. But he was solid there. Do you see a difference at quarterback with wind Bush after all this time being away and not being the starter? I think that they'll be fine with against Florida state. I don't think they're very good on defense. I think this is a different time for Florida state is different Florida state team. Then we're used to in the past. They've kind of they know where they are this season. They're wrapping it up this season. I have to. I believe that if this was the college football playoff that invoke would find a way to get on the field. And I think that this is a good place much like we've seen with the bears with clean immaculate. This is a good place to rest him and get him healthy, and Brandon wimbush will be fine. He's been a starter before he knows how to handle the offense is he as effective as Ian book. No. But he knows he can be a decent game manager as long as it's turned over the ball. Their defense will carry them. They have one of the best defense in the country, and they should be finding is Florida state. He knows how to handle the offense. But we do know in the first three games of the season when he played one touchdown for interceptions. They beat Michigan Boston vandy. And then the offensive output really stepped up when book came into the game so dramatically different offense with wind Bush in there. So I get it. He knows what he's doing. And as a spot start. I think they'll be fine especially against Florida state today. But golly, you nail down the head for the games where it's going to matter more they will need in book in there, especially if they're planning on getting to the playoff and winning in the playoff, and I think. The advantage for the fighting Irish today is the fact that Florida state's been a mess. They're four and five there two and five in the ACC the teams that they've lost to Virginia Tech. Syracuse Miami, Clemson NC state, some of those things are pretty good. None of them are pushovers. So Florida state even though having a down year and a tough year for Willie Taggart and all the things going on with that program. It's not just an automatic win today, especially when you're backup quarterbacks in there. All right. Let's have a thorough breakdown Notre Dame and Florida state Notre Dame vs Florida state. So Trevor manage from college game day on ESPN radio talked about the difference between in book, Brandon wimbush. It's a fall off in style. David because book is a much better passer. He unleashes the capability of those terrific Irish receivers and tight ends because he gets the ball with them quickly. When they've got a step to be able to now make one guy miss break out into the open field. He's also plenty good enough runner to do a lot of things on the ground. It'd be a threat. But he's mostly at threat with his arm mostly because he Abel's those guys on the edge. Brandon wimbush isn't nearly as good a passer. He's okay. But he's more of a runner and thinking about wimbush is that as a runner he's one of the best running quarterbacks in the country. We talk a lot about what he doesn't do. Well, but I think it's important to remember what he does do well on the ground. He is phenomenal. Now, I guess Michigan that first happy through some great passes. But then he started he's been inconsistent with his arm, but you turn loose on the ground with Dexter Williams is one of the best running backs in the country. All of a sudden that makes a one two punch of the running game. That is still a potent force for the Irish. And so he's got a lot of experience. And there are things that he does extremely well. I think that because Adam the offense has been able to definitely get better under Ian book. I think that definitely means that we're going to see some improvement from win Bush. We remember the first three games, they weren't bad games. But they were pedestrian games offensively. And this is why the switch was made. Brian Kelly said at one. I just couldn't sleep. I was going back and forth. Who should I start a quarterback because in order for us to be even in the mix for the final four despite the victories. If you're not winning in impressive fashion. You're not going to be able to be considered. And so I think that with wimbush as a quarterback today. I see some improvements as far as running the football him to connect connected. Who is receivers it won't be the book type outing offensively. But it'll be better than the first three games. I agree with you. And I think that Brian Kelly saw the writing on the wall with Alabama. And he saw the writing on the wall with Clemson. And you look at Clemson putting up seventy seven points last week. You look at Alabama and their offensive output with two quarterback and what they've been able to do with their offense. They're extremely scary. And he looked at his team. And he said, yeah, we can be a decent team with Brandon wimbush. But when it comes down to it, we got to put up points. We can't just win gains by three we can't just win games by touchdown. We have to go out there. And we have to have style points. We need to look good, and we need to become as efficient on offense as we are on defense in the answer to that is so far. It's been in book. Absolutely. And you know, consider this Brian Kelly throughout the years has made mistakes in season with quarterback juggling and figuring out which guys the hot hand and who he should play. He's figured it out for the better this season. And it's really the first time that he's done the right thing with quarterbacks in season. So you know, he sees the other teams he sees what Dabo Sweeney did at Clemson. Switching out two Trevor Lawrence you see what Tunga bylaws done, and they do have to keep up offense to be in the conversation now without even book today. The one thing we need to obviously point to is the fact that defensively the third best defense in the country in SNP. Plus the Notre Dame fighting Irish going against an offense that's been atrocious this season. So Florida state comes in with little to no effort on offense. That's going to be able to put points on the board against one of the best defences in the entire country. So you start backup quarterback. And we know the difference is between book and wimbush. But really it's going to come down to the play of the defensive side of the ball for for. The fighting Irish against floor say today, that's what it's gonna come down to right because the floor state can't score wimbush can just kind of go through the game. And just don't make any big mistakes and the fighting Irish win today. Chicago's college tailgate on ESPN one thousand ESPN app. Jonathan Adam Chris with you broadcasting live from our favorite place for wins casino in south bend on your way to the game. Or if you're gonna come back from the game. Stop by the four winds casino in south bend, a terrific place. Can't you keep Grylls where we are? When you go into the building you turn to the left always to the far left and you'll see the key grill. Great food and great atmosphere here every time we come to the grill for four winds casino. So from Florida state standpoint, and Adam I'll hold you to this. So Adam told us a couple of weeks ago that more than likely this'll be the end for Florida state when he any games based on their schedule. Right. You felt so I think that Willie Taggart here's what's really weird about college football. So Florida's day comes into this game four and five a couple of wins away from being bowl eligible. And so and so. Even though they've had losses against tech. They won by ten against Sanford that game was actually closer than the ten because that was a tough game for floor against Stanford. It's called much closer to the to say so loss against Syracuse loss against Miami loss against Clemson munc- state. We've lost three of their last four. But here's the thing that we look at here in boy anytime that you are on your foot on one banana peel and the other one almost out of a job Willie Taggart already has given up his play calling duties to his offense, coordinator, Walt bell. I mean, it's the middle. The you even try you find yourself in the middle of the season as OC. So I'll ask you again based on the schedule. Yeah. Will there be any more wins can get a fifth win this season? No, no. We'll look who they play. They play Notre Dame today. Then they have Boston College in Florida. Yeah. It's tough find a win. Well, I mean Florida's not a world beater. They. Could beat Florida. Why can't they be Florida? Florida's top fifteen team. Okay. They're not. No, no. It's not going to happen. Sorta gave them a game today. Lord state has done yet. But then they went out and they scored twenty one unanswered and and won the game. So as of right now, no Florida state's winning another game this season, and for Willie Taggart it's going to take it might take a little bit of time. He's got to see what he has Florida state, and he's got to do some recruiting. And that'll be fine. That'd be back this Florida state quite the homecoming. Well, well, no question is quite homecoming. But the question is is all all the teams in the state of Florida, whereas Florida states because UCF there's UCF there, south Florida. There's Florida Miami Miami. What about lane kiffin the owls where you going to go play for lane lane kiffin the owls to well. How about this? You mentioned the fact that Willie Taggart's giving up the offense coordinator or call play calling duties to the offensive coordinator, how about bell. You know, the reasoning that he said to the media this week to why he's doing it. Because of the team needs them in so many other areas during the game that he just can't handle the playcalling anymore. How about that? Didn't know Hugh Jackson was scratching Florida state Seminoles. So I mean, it's a mess. Their offense is a mess. Dahlia right, he needs time to fix things there. Florida state. It's a homecoming for him. So I doubt he will be out after one year. That's not going to Scott frost isn't going to be out in Nebraska. Right. We all have on time. Y'all can't come in like less miles in with Nick saban's players at LSU. You you can't do that. But he can do that in Kansas. Well, I mean. Dan..

"The numbers are ugly for Florida state seven punts and an interception. Make up there. Eight possessions, thus far they have negative four yards rushing on sixteen attempts sixty nine yards passing. So just sixty five yards of offense compared to two hundred forty seven for. Clemson they've done most of their damage through the air. Trevor Lawrence true freshman is eighteen thirty one for one hundred eighty eight yards and two touchdowns. Both of them going t Higgins the leading receiver for Clemson six catches for sixty two yards. But this about sums it up rack Christian Wilkins, the defensive tackle is out rushing. Florida state right now Wilkins had the big man. Touchdown from one yard out in the second quarter. He's got one yard Florida state has negative. What yard on wanna carry out rush? Florida state. Yeah. I mean, you went through the numbers Ted. I mean, I think here's kind of the way that I look at this. And again, I don't mean to beat a dead horse here. But when you're playing the number two team in the country, and you're unranked let me just read through some things you mentioned at seven points. Eight penalties minus four yards rushing. Sixty five yards of total offense to ten on third down. And no sacks. Just take out the team names, if you're unranked that you're playing a top four team in the country. Can you beat them when not? Your first half performance. You can't do it. So they got thirty minutes left to football. They're going to have to get started early. They're gonna have to put a touchdown on the board right away. We're going to have to hope to get a turnover or to flip it over. If you're Clemson if you don't turn it over and don't get too conservative. You're gonna win the football game. Because you're spotted four score league. That's kind of where we're sit with thirty minutes left to play second half is on the way. Our halftime score. Number two, Clemson twenty eight Florida state nothing. You're listening to NCAA football on Westwood One..

"florida state" Discussed on Talk Python To Me

"I was a student at florida state university i was actually studying theater in biochemistry and i did an internship outscored the mic yeah but i did an internship at a lab and realized that i could not see myself doing biochemistry for the rest of my life i also knew that i wasn't gonna make a whole lot of money doing theater so i was really interested in forensics so i figured if i couldn't do the biochem side that i would go to the criminology side so started in criminology and it turned out that fsu had just launched a computer criminology program in so this is i think my junior year like summer of my junior year of college and they were like hey you've really great mask or is like why don't you to take a programming class and i did and i absolutely fell in love with it it was like an internal programming plus plus class nabil un enigma machines simulator or walls school the rest is history yeah you have this really awesome so this sort of datadriven chronology is this law like a little bit like csi like forensic type stuff or what what kind of things would you have done there yeah there's a lot to focus on security ought to focus on digital forensic sell taking like a dead harddriving trying to reformulate a lot of data that you can get off of it and that kind of stuff that sounds pretty interesting and i guess you know you were thrown right into like the deepened with c plus plus if you like that than you know this whole thing must be for your exactly hat and i think that looking at my history and high got into programming and coming from a cs background it was very very focused on theory and compilers and all that that's definitely where a lot of systems from i'm sure so how'd you go from cplus plus the python lets a bit of a complicated answer so part of it was that i started building a lot of like side projects with friends in so we would go through and like figure out how to build a web scraper and stuff like that and then we started building api.

"In place for the acc championship i don't think he buys going to go to go back to the arkansas state hurricane game and say that should costume sultan now i will say this there is some news about rescheduled football games florida state now has rescheduled their game with louisiana monroe and that was a game they weren't going to reschedule but now because of a season that has gone further south than anyone could have predicted now i want to reschedule again because of trying to become bowl ills record wants the practices he didn't care about the mode didn't care thing about it and and that's something that riot aerobic activity exactly right he added can clearly they need to practice right but so so that's above all the games that were murderers' row that's that's the most wanted and i have it it's it's some it doesn't surprise me they try to reschedule is just surprise me is this late in the year and that they're in this position i wonder and i meant to look this up and i just forgot your would monroe i guess monroe would not have gotten paid because the game was canceled so their motivation to go to get their paycheck right florida state's motivation is to get the ball practices uh and they may need that i mean it's it's very possible that that that would be their sixth victory it's uh it's amazing work this in the situation but that's where there aren't any chance monroe winced that game yeah well that wasn't that'd be it if data rescheduled a game for was december second so it's a championship saturday but i'll tell you this too and this is something it might not mean so much to jumbo but certainly means a lot to the university florida state hasn't missed balsas nights and eighty one.
