Like columbine could probably name more wallflower songs and he can bog way. Bob dole i. It's right over my head. I have no idea i look. I'm surprised he got three hundred million. Based on the fact that that ship has sailed a long time ago dylan receives a lump sum between two hundred and four hundred I'm not sure what the what. The stevie nicks sold their publishing catalog for eighty million dollars. The dylan portfolio six hundred songs while other bands who have sold their catalogs sold. You know taking the money. Blondie barry manilow and the estates of john lennon and kurt cobaine. I believe john lennon the beatles. Paul mccartney bought them for like a ridiculous amount of money Like eight hundred million. Paul mccartney owns well. Didn't jackson by michael jackson and then mccray jackson and a falling out story there. But there's only one to look up jerry. Three hundred million eighty million two hundred to four hundred million. What did what did brian. Wilson's father sell the beach boys catalogue for another against the wishes without the kids. Even knowing and i think he sold it for like seventy dollars and a coke or something new never spoke to his father again obviously but if the beach boys is the one you would want because of the catchy jingles. Yeah that's true point and that the father sold it for nothing. He had no idea what he had. And what the value of wasn't a guy goes. Hey i'm gonna dig deep here. I'll give you five hundred dollars. Whereas i sold and brian wilson was never the same after it happened. It's a good point. But i think dylan's got a lot of those you know catch even though they you know might be whatever. The revolutionary songs at times they are a change in blowing in the wind and songs like that which will which will fit nicely in commercials. And we'll be sick of them all with and i'm sure he had control over it and limited the exposure but i guarantee you. He sold the rights to some two songs to some commercials. I assume right Yeah i guess. So i mean i don't blame me if you're gonna die soon and you wanna take care of you. Offspring kids grandkids. You say. What the hell. What do i care if not be capitalizing on all the different changes that are going on in the music industry. I bet it's like a five person team that he has controlling the catalog right. Like it's a he. He owns time. Bob no one said a need the money for anything the the couple couple of years ago. Long before covid were dylan on went on tour and performed at three hundred nights in a year three hundred nights in one year deal and he was like seventy five and i don't know anyone that went to see him. He wasn't playing the big rooms anymore but he's just addicted to performing and singing his songs and i must have just an insane amount of money already. I mean just. But it's like what bob cousy sold all his Collectibles always memorabilia. He said what do i need it for. This is going to pay for my grandkids education. And can you blame him for that. I wouldn't. I'm a big lira. Guy when it comes to rock and roll. If you consider dylan rock and roll and dylan for what i again. He's not my bag particularly. I don't have any bob dylan on my phone. But his his lyrics. If back on my i always think that you know if you get ten best lyrics of all time. Texans Bid Goodbye to the LuAnn Platter: Lubys is Liquidating
"Wondering, I'm David Brown and this is business wars daily on this. Friday. September eighteenth some sad news from my home state Texas. Luby's is shutting down on the surface. It's another casualty of the pandemic. Now, if you're not a Texan or haven't spent much time here, Luby's cafeteria chain and an institution. It's an understatement to say that for decades it's been beloved at one time. There were more than two hundred. Luby's Cafeterias in eleven states. Now, there are fewer than eighty left all in the lone star state. The restaurant chains shut its doors back in. March the loss of Luby's goes far beyond the financial implications for the business itself significant enough and even beyond the jobs of its workers the liquidation of Luby's marks something of a cultural shift one that began years ago. The birth of Belugas we know today is the subject of many. Texas. Squabbles was founded when Bob Lou be opened a cafeteria in San Antonio in nineteen forty seven as the company's corporate history claims or did it get it start even earlier with cafeterias run by Bob's Ancestor Harry Lubi? In Twenty Nineteen Texas Observer Writer Andrea Valdez felt the question was so vexing that she wrote I leave the Arcane Texas history quibbles to the more about Asli knowledgeable of our readers. Regardless Luby's was one of many postwar restaurant institutions that sprouted up to serve suddenly sprawling suburbs in the late forties and early fifties. Once upon a time, the announcement of a Luby's coming to town conferred to kind of signal that this place is on the rise in meant heaping helpings of chicken, Fried Steak Square Fish Fried of course, creamy macaroni and cheese and Jalapeno corn bread all at modest prices and serve with a bit of Texas style. You want more you got it. How's your mom and him with Y'all be able to come back next. Sunday after church you get the picture. Its old fashioned meals, liver and onions and Jello cubes became both famous and famously addictive. It was comfort food for sure. But in a fast changing ever more complex world that bright red Luby's sign was. A comfort in another way to sort of reassurance that simple things endure friendly servers, sensible prices, and the luanne platter half an entree two sides in a row. When a character named Luanne platter appeared on the TV show King of the hill. It was one of the coolest knowing winks ever broadcast in the lone star state. Some might say. The fact that you didn't have to dress up for a Sunday dinner at Luby's made it even cooler until Luby's wasn't cool anymore. By the nineteen eighty s he to become the cool equivalent of driving a fleetwood Brougham something grandparents did. By the two thousands Luby's was suffering at the hands of fast casual chains serving fresher healthier food like mad, Greens, and chipotle. By last year, it appeared that Luby's could be on the way out in June. The pompous family which owns Luby's which in turn owns fudd truckers thirty store hamburger chain attempted to sell it. The takers however, last week Luby's announced that it is dissolving the chain and fudd rutgers to the pompous family plans. To return the money to investors, it could amount to some one hundred million dollars. For the moment, the website proclaims that they're still open. So. Perhaps, some might want to run in and get one last Luanne platter while you still can nothing lasts forever. Alas, Lassen it's too bad that in the case of Luby's most people are okay with.

"She's track that everybody likes talking about because in many ways. It was a precursor of what was to happen with Peter Green because this song was about his drug trip, and some people believe that he actually describes his early onset of schizophrenia. Correct a wonderful track later on covered by Judas priest in a more metal version, but I like the intensity of this original. It's Peter Green at his best. These clear sharp Itar notes very raw sound. Of course, the rhythm section is amazing throughout the records, so rattlesnake shake was also great track great blues than Oh. Well, there's a second part which is more more of an instrumental where he skips repeating a certain phrasing. It's very spiritual in that sense a bit of Acoustic Guitars. and. That's interesting to me that when he goes acoustic. He sounds very well versed in classical guitar, too. So just Great Guitar Guitar Picking Overall I think you're struggling to find your standard tribe, because the whole album is so good. Yeah, I'll just see the green Mehalle she may be. Oh well, but I don't know it's. Also the. Second track closing my eyes. I think that one might be the best just. Just gorgeous gorgeous ballot, it says. Just blows me away. What's your favorite track? Here is I said their listeners. Listen to this album from start to finish. If I had to pick one track, it would be fighting for madge really on track absolutely punchy, and when it comes to my rating. I'm fairly certain that I that I'll go back to this album so for not my ratings. Eight point five out of ten, and I was really pleased. My personal opinion is that you can never go wrong with any sixties act that blaze rock music especially from Nineteen sixty-nine. We all know that so lot of what's your rating? I say a nine nine out of Dan not many flaws here a classic record by all means. A record that can stand next to the records by the like of cream. The Rolling Stones led Zeppelin, but sometimes gets looked unfortunately due to some of these issues that we talked about so. If you're a huge fan of these bands mentioned. "But they. They went on to form their own band, and they decided to call a fleetwood Mac based on the names of their respective rhythm section John mcvie Fleetwood, so this early period was characterized by fantastic guitar too acidy, mostly courtesy of Peter Green but also thanks to Jeremy Spencer, phenomenal slide player, and then later on a teenager by the name of Danny Kirwin. Who is very prominent on the record it? We're going to talk about. Doing this show now, What's interesting about? This I lineup is the Peter Green had all the talent in the world, but unfortunately due to the extensive drug use, he had severe mental health problems that eventually developed into schizophrenia. So that's a rather sad story, and there's certain story now has turned into a legend of sorts, cow, he and Danny Kirwin lost their mind, basically at one point at the height of its popularity, this lineup went to Germany to Munich, and there as soon as they arrive, there was. was, a weird, looking group of hippies waiting on them with the man who wore along Cape and look like some sort of spiritual guru now what happened was that these people weren't really interested in the entire band, but the dragged Peter and Danny with them to a house with a massive party or some kind of spiritual session, and apparently a lot of acid was consumed, and those who were witness to this claim that Peter and Danny were never the same afterwards that at that point they took. Some kind of very potent acid. They act extremely weirdly. To the point where other band members were terrified, so eventually following this incident beat the green left. The band and Danny stayed for a little longer Danny was basically the frontman after Peter left because Danny was in many ways, peters protege. Peter was his mentor. However, Danny was prone to horrible emotional outbursts, especially after that incident, and his stint with the band ended very violently where he started smashing everything in the wardrobe, just before the show, and started bashing his head against the wall. So a very terrible and history of this band is already present early on, and we will see later on the other lineups weren't much better in that regard. So following these events the band goes through a series of changes. Bring on Bob Welsh, another talented musician who took over after Danny left, but they're real. Commercial Success came in Nineteen, seventy five. When Mick fleetwood discover a Californian duo so now these very British ban all of a sudden, because very American by bringing in Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and I'm sure that a lot of our listeners of well familiar with these names, these mega stars, so what they brought, the band was a more pop sound, beautiful songwriting that was both commercially viable, but also quite profound and inspiring on many levels, and this is where most people know fleetwood Mac from Salt Lake Sander. Have you been familiar with any of these things? The only things that I am familiar with are certain names, but that story just sounds mind blowing I mean thank you for that. It was really fun listening to. It's a lot of interesting facts and a lot of depressing stories..

Yes, ingrates, looking forward to this today, whereabouts covered a very interesting act a name that I've known for a long time, but unfortunately I hit and been very familiar with them until we decided to cover them our show. Their name is fleetwood Mac Right Lotta. Yes, fleetwood Mac. Mac One of the best selling acts of all time, so one of the most popular groups one of the most popular bands of old time, but fleetwood Mac stories rather interesting. Because when you say fleetwood Mac which lineup do usually mean. That's a good question. As this band went through a number of different LINEUPS, and you can say with a fair amount of objective not. that. Each one of these lineups was basically a separate band what they had in common, though was the rhythm section of Fleetwood Mac Mick fleetwood and John mcvie so Alex. did you know about this? No actually not, but I have to agree with you on the fact that day pretty much have a variety of a variety of sounds which will talk about. In regards to the album's. We picked for this for this episode and I'm really curious to know if the fleetwood MAC fan base is can't is kind of Split. What do you think I think? A lot of people are split the them there people who exclusively the fans of the early period of the band, and there are people a lot of them actually I would say who are exclusively the fans of the more pop. Pop oriented. Lineup from Nineteen, seventy five and onwards, but there are also those of us true music fans Kuchen, appreciate all of their extremely talented lineups, so as a band fleetwood MAC was founded in one, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, one, thousand, nine, hundred, sixty, seven in London and they started out as a blues band. Basically three of them members had a stint with John Males. Blues breakers now those of you who know Blues Music Music, know what this band meant for British Blues John. Mail was the guy who had Eric Clapton in his band, who had one make Taylor that went on to join the rolling stones, and the most important thing for this episode he had one and only pizza green for a year or two as well so Peter. Green John Macri and Mick fleetwood all played in the blues, breakers, a highly influential, fantastic British blues.
History in Five Songs 47: Bands of Individuals
"So this is episode forty seven. We are going to be calling this bands of individuals. I couldn't think of a snappier title. But this basically explains this concept and it's actually a pretty elevated concept If you don't mind me saying this is something I've always felt and it's an episode. I've been burning to do So let's just get to it. I mean essentially One funny thing about this episode is it's not very heavy metal or hard rock. Although I am going to be mentioning a lot of bands that are hard. Rock and heavy metal but my examples per se are not particularly in that field. But I am going to end with a with a classic heavy metal band so So all shall be forgiven. I hope by the end of this. I might mention a few Honorable Mentions Myself All right so we're GONNA do this one a little bit differently. I hope it doesn't go on too long. I probably will shorten up when it comes to the actual entries but I have a little bit of a along intro here so I went to you the fine listeners. And and said hey give me some examples of this and it's kind of funny The example started flowing in and I'm going to read some of those in in a second But what I realized when I was reading these examples is I'm not too clear on what my concept is for this. I hope by the end of this episode and when you hear examples you're GonNa understand what has always been stuck in my brain for decades essentially about bands. That are like this why I think there are certain bands truly truly truly like this. So let's just get on with that so I sent. I sent off a facebook cry for help here So what did I say here so So here's a really cool concept that I'm at four at need one. More as I said bands of individuals and ecosystem is created with a clear north South East and West. It's an ecosystem that has not one world but four five teams that comprise a complex world. I've thought this for years about these four bands. But do you get my drift strode. A few band names and if one of them just hits me like a lightning bolt. I'll know it but I don't want to explain further or debated. Let's save that for the episode. Only one of my choices is remotely a metal band. So that's what I wrote And yet just to explain a little more before. I read some of these Entries the idea here is that these bands create almost like You know you think of a little Snow Globe that you shakeup and there. There's the snowflakes in there. There's this enclosed world that is a weird world but very importantly this world is not one that ends up being kind of a unified sounding thing that a lot of other band's sound like it is a world unto itself that's number one but number two it does have an east west North and south. I mean it. Basically sounds like a world of individual players or Feifdoms that is making this up so doesn't sound like particularly like a unified whole. It sounds like a band or a record or song that you listened to where you can't get the members themselves out of your head when you're listening to it. You don't think the band name you think all of these original members jumbled up together at once. I think that explains it probably pretty well but let me tell you quickly and what I'm going to do here is I'm going to leave out. The bans That were suggested that are actually my choices anyways. And I'm just going to go through some of these very quickly dispelled the notion of why didn't include the more. How they they? Almost clay came close. Oh so we've got vanya Derek. I mentioned led Zeppelin Queen Cream and Russia. Okay all of those are pretty close but no cigar. They had certain things about them. That were almost two unified Long Story But those ones are are all pretty close but let's see Jacob Tannahill said sons of Apollo Mister Big Asia. Any one of them fit the bill and I actually almost thought Asia that I would include But Yeah I think he's getting the point here Sons of Apollo definitely. You know the big the big You know important band members. Asia supergroup The police New York Doll says Thomas Hackney also the pretenders I would say no on the pretenders I would. That wouldn't have come to mind. I wouldn't New York dolls that come to mind. Police is one of my honorable mention so with that band. You know you are thinking This this chicken scratch sort of textured a guitar playing from Andy. You know base. I don't think you think of sting so much base but you think of that vocalist and then also I with Stewart Copeland. You definitely get a unique drummer. That is a distraction. I mean you're thinking of him when you're hearing these police songs so yes that's a good example of what we're getting at here. Augusta Garcia parade. As mentioned the clash. I would say no I don't. It doesn't really fit the bill here. Thomas Hackney comes up with AKS little bit. That's kind of cool. One Eagles Blazed Barshop. Says no I wouldn't say so Going to leave Well no I'm not going to leave this one because I kick them out. Pat conners has fleetwood Mac. I actually was include fleetwood Mac but I couldn't see myself playing a fleetwood Mac song as one of our five choices here but definitely you get the yet. This is a perfect example. And like I say I was one of mine that was on the at the top of my head. You get. Basically these. Three distinct vocalists are all with their personalities and their baggage in their own solo albums. The whole bit Stevie Nicks Christie. Make Christine mcvie his Christine. Yeah and Lindsey Buckingham All very distinct vocalists. And you also get You Know Mick. Fleetwood is the is kind of the the patriarch of the ban. But you had get this very stripped down drumming John mcvie Idaho. Don't really think of him too much in this but Lindsay as well you think of a very distinct Sort of I said chicken. Scratch already with Andy Summers. Chicken scratch makes a lot more sense with Lindsay So again you're listening to fleetwood Mac song or a few in a row and you're thinking oh when's this focus gonNA sing or that one or oh. They're they're doing this together And then and then. Lindsey gives you this very stark guitar Solo And and you get this very sort of straight line B line kind of Feel to a of their songs so that is a ban when you're listening to them. I can't get the members individually out of their heads hence bands of individuals. Okay

Making over a 1963 Cadillac
"I found the nineteen sixty three cadillac in a driveway. And I wrote to the owners of the House because my in my county you could find anybody's name address to anybody for any property. I never saw this property before. I don't know why I never drew down this road and my friend said hey is a really cool cadillac. You'd be into it so I looked at it and it's a four door fleetwood and I really thought it would be cool to convert in whatever. Anyway it's been sitting in the same spot for forty years so I wrote the people and in the meantime I'm looking I haven't heard from them and they never wrote back. But in the meantime I'm always looking on facebook market for that kind of car like a car that looks rusty and really screwed up just like that. It's like perfect. The bodies like perfectly aligned. It's not crunched routed through to sue and so in a in an impulse. I saw this Cadillac. That just had just gotten posted. It was a seven sixty seven. Eldorado of sixty seven convertible sixty seven Cadillac convertible and so. I just texted the guy in through facebook market. And we wrote back and forth and as we take pay pal like y'all take some in pay pal if you pay me a little bit so I paid fifteen hundred dollars. He delivered it so because I was talking about that other car. Got Me curious to just keep looking looking looking for that type of texture on a car and when I saw this it was a really fast so it showed up in everybody's asking me always that the call from the front yard of the House nearby. It's not I just saw it in so now the car from the House nearby. I don't need that anymore. The satisfies that itch. Okay David how long do you think it will be before he gets out of the written back to? Oh you're muted David. I can't hear you haven't that killed my joke. I said when we record the next podcast. So it's a sixty seven Cadillac Eldorado. Keep saying it's called the Deville sixty seven cadillac convertible and it's it is like people say how bad is it? I'm like it's probably about. It's probably about three weeks away from being completely gone it runs drives has no breaks every time. I try to stop ahead of give myself like twenty feet to coast to a stop and it The floorboards are completely routed yesterday. Me AND MY BUDDY RYAN. We ripped the whole interior out would cut the seat out. You know it's it's basically a convertible that was probably left open twenty percent of its life to the rain so the interior seats are all moldy. And it's been stored for really long time. The Guy got it from has no paperwork heat and really tell me much about it. I think he's like a recovery guy who just like to close at warehouses and soften. He says he got it recently and he just put it up for sale. He says he got he got it running. He claims he put the carburetor on it. He said it was in a warehouse. He took it home. There was no carburetor on it. He found a carburetor and a junkyard. Put It on. It played with a for a couple of hours got it started and put it on facebook marketplace. And that's how I got so it's definitely has not gotten any attention this mice nestle over which I got most of them blown out and What WHAT'S THE PLAN. Are you going to restore to original condition or are you going to modify the whole worms? I just wanted something to creatively experiment with and Okay and So I'm going to basically make like a rat rod ahead a couple of teams tales like. Oh we're going to get it perfect again like no no that would take. That would take a lot. It's like Fred Flintstone Style. Like just kick the ground as you're the body lines straight. That's what I liked about the body lines straight so it's like a good. Both the frame seemed straight and Somebody played with the brakes breaks. Hopefully that just needed just because there's a lot of brand new brake parts. There look like they haven't gotten rusty so this if you look through a couple of shiny parts in the car that somebody like me that'll ambitious and then gave up on it again and So the wiring zoll horrible. It's going to be a nightmare like Patrick's GonNa help move the wiring. I said he goes while we gotTA figure I go look if we could just put like a row of switches on the dashboard. That say you know left? Lincoln right link of the region his that would be easy if we just do that instead of China. So it's just a big experiment to play with and it like I said because it runs I can get in and started. It doesn't sound very healthy but it runs and that's figured half the half the battle so yeah yeah just the fact that you can get it to turn over. I mean that means you're you know you're further along than if it didn't turn over there would be quite a few reasons why it wouldn't move you know and that would take a lot to get so it's really you can at least attack at a time and a funny thing was is. I went on I I I got one on Ebay to buy like all the emblems and stuff for it and then I did buy two emblems for about sixty bucks and one of the blinkers in a said before by anymore. Spend any more money on this hunk of crap. Let me look in the trunk. And so the next day I look in the trunk in every single piece of trim was in the trunk so somebody got an ambitious thinking they were GonNa fix it a pain and and so it has everything even the headlight which is missing in the pictures. Has Everything So I'll just fiddle with it and learn about hydraulic roofs. Semite put my own. Convertible has no the convertible scissor top? It's called the scissor roof. It's all there it doesn't have the hydraulic motor. Which I gotTA figure out how to modify figure out but It doesn't have any canvas on the top so I'm going to get creative and try and figure out something interesting. Like an all tarp simply. Well I was GONNA say like I mean you already had the Fred Flintstone floor in on Fred Flintstone car. It had like bamboo that went up and then forward. And then there's like a piece of canvas that came over and it didn't convert all the back for like a rear window air. We'll go through. It'll probably be fine. Continue that Motif. Yeah so I mean that's just my opinion but I'm just having fun with it and it just reminded me of being a teenager and like figuring things out. I mean that's how I learned a lot so many mechanical things early on is like just wrenching on old cars and I was a kid out drag home any hundred piece of crap and start taking it apart and figuring out how to get started. So that's just my little. I wonder if a little kid me again. I

Called Matt Berry who are a member from a few episodes. I watched the show called toast of London about a mostly out of work actor and a nemesis the nemesis the actor. He's always doing really well well. And it's very funny but patchy I didn't watch all the episodes or anything. This is called toast of London which is to push. The rabbit is a is a comedy. Yeah as was ties of land that is set in the Dickensian Times in London and Victorian era of It's it's a police procedural it's got all the cliches of every single policemen show in cop show you've ever seen except it's funny and it set in the late nineteenth century. Insure you know what's coming to mind here. And this could be completely off the mark but as you're describing. Yeah I'm thinking of the Rani's is Santa. Rosa pro rasberry blow of Old London. The Town I. It's not like that. It's not like overall maybe not lows of violence or swearing and it really is like every single thing that people would have objected about. It's got it all right. Got Everything on our this Owl's Tom Shaw not not. So we see the Jack and Danny maybe a broom handle pickles. Sounds very creative. Raw Cava have a right whose title filth interested everyone straightaway could do. We could watch the whole show. I nine talking my language. You're it starts off with him. Committing violence against a man at a table getting him to confess to a crime that he clearly hasn't committed stands up and he's in the classroom and that children is how we get a confession out of a murderer who would like to see me and then he describes something really disgusting and put up the hang and of course he gets the police station. And as he's great nemesis this Dandyish fop called tenor of the yod. Because he's he's from Scotland Yard where he's just with the Mason so he has been jurisdiction they disagree and and and he's he's bosses always yelling at him and his boss has an adopted daughter. WHO's black black? Who wants to be the first policewoman? And he's got. He's forced to take on an assistant like a psychic who's been educated at Cambridge and it's very posh and all the cliches of a police show and it's hilarious is really funny and the swearing is great loads of swearing and newness and violence. Let's and it's it's just it's it's really shop. And well written and and like just pounds along lockup policeman on the pavement went chasing a miscreant with just whistle. And he's trenching pounds along bobby on the beat Recommend fill called animals. Okay it's a Directed by height. Who made the film fifty Tuesday's she was? "People are paying. Whatever they're paying and hype everybody else's in Dhaka's Mount Zion? Zay people hang to see fleetwood MAC either. One coming to see crowded hassle split ends not even the maligns though talk to see the NFL hotel back and it really surprised me. The amount of love like sort sort of like a fleetwood Mac. We're getting like a nine point. Four out of ten on the sort of applause meter. Yeah they were getting an eleven when when Neil if in saying I got you and and I dreams. I've I have an idea why that is. I know you're going to zip better songs. Notarial I think I I was really surprised at how popular crowded house became the first vice same like abandoned the NFL hotel. And I became this worldwide smash and and I had friends overseas. Some who were in a stray he'd come to strife. Are the reasons but happened to be that final final crowded House House concert. Yup Right and I said when we were we were home. That was this mass. He was on the news. You know you have no idea how popular and beloved like gloved disbanded. I was actually at that concert that at the process. Yeah and up never been a big credit house fan a like my man in songwriting. Everything and dreams song and it was packed and it was massive and it was every strata out of white society that you could imagine at that concert and for people who love fleetwood Mac every structure of white society to then get this glorious glorious surprise. Oh that's right this guy who we've always loved from from sort of nine hundred eighty The kells album because the others were very different albums Split ends right up to the end of Credit House. This is like this amazing Christmas bonus that nobody expects or they might have heard or but probably never thought about when we're thinking about going. Thank fleetwood Mac. The face of Neil Finn wouldn't jumped into the head and I think it would have been an amazing bonus love of both bands and I think he is especially really beloved by people. Well who who remember the band or who have a vague passing interest in in music on the Fox or gold whatever Christine mcvie has pretty much voice yet. She was always caught flat anyway. now gone pretty read thin she seventy-six okay like You know and she sings seventy six year old woman yet through a couple of moments Ortho as he was playing a sort of boogie. woogie Blues Piano bits falling behind the pace in practice. This is seventy four show. Thank you do improve onto interesting interesting thing Lindsey Buckingham I don't really know the story about why he was kicked out. And what Stasi's and I've heard that he's not in great crush sheils humane healthwise. Yeah possibly see beyond that but What struck struck me was Mike Campbell used to play guitar with trump hitting the heartbreakers was playing lead. Neil Finn kind of playing secondly slash rhythm having how many guitars and Neil Fhimah singing the Lindsey Buckingham pots right well. I've got this very crash hot guitarist. Mike Mike Campbell musician singer and Neil Finn. That's two guys to reply. Still Lindsey Buckingham. Whatever kind of guy? He Christine McVeigh. It was pretty. It was pretty impressive. Start replacing them with the strategy musician. A I don't think I can do the thing that really struck me about this right. Is that it. It was almost like watching. What would you call almost like a like a short-range showcase crash a showcase in that? It Kristie mcvay would sing a song and it would finish and then come on her and she got thank you thank you. It's great to be well and then and then Stevie Nicks is singer. Song by operators. Pretty much gone but she could. She could still aren't very good on the melodies and she confined to around songs. Couple of the rearrangements. I didn't love you. Know what a rabid fan. But I've listened to them off you know if there's no surprise supposed to sound she'd finishes on thank thank you. It's wonderful. I should do here which he stuff and then the then new fan would do his bit and thank you thank you. It's kind of like you're seeing four. Aw three four different artists and it's really weird fleetwood MAC geometry the bedbugs they magnificent.

Thousand One thousand thousand point five could wellbeing more than one thousand dollars Dar one point bay point that Eh that sort of very very impermeable Sort of barrier that we used to have in ninety seventy seventy nine when when we were kids right. When I listened to music music was a big part of all right entity? Yep Yep and what you liked what you didn't like I think we're equally important absolutely. Yeah I tell this to my daughter who who is even younger. It's good to love things but you need to hate hate things as well unless you have no taste I disagree. I think that we are now in an era where suddenly kids folles Sir inclined to go. I like this therefore I hate that. I reckon that's probably true and from you know you can you can you can You can sort of put the blame all explanation for this at the foot of streaming and digital music consumption the disintegration of the sort of packaged collection then known as the L. P.. And all the rest of it And Rachel the readily available information about every act. You have you have stumbled across you. Don't discover accent anymore you shade or they linked or you. What do you do discover? But it's not that sense of. I found them. I own them that we had when. Yeah when we were younger so I kind of think that it's all just a constant feed and there is no distinction. Mike you know my my daughter's listen to fleetwood MAC and cheese listening to Nirvana and she's listening to the pixies and and she's listening to Giorgio Moroder and it's like and I think that's awesome. Yeah I think that is really really great. I have absolutely no problem. But I think it's it's healthier than the way we We formed I'm out musical fandom identities healthier because it's more more open because because it's more open to imports it's more open to inclusive and diverse inclusive but it's it's diverse in. Its hyper minded I I I think that You know to extrapolate from your your assertion that it's important to have things to hide as well Nar Let's try young on that. You can I of cultural consumption but also embroiled in a broader sense. I'm talking I do want to hear more about about your. You'll fleetwood Mac so maybe there is a sea. We'll we'll get to that. Okay I I I disagree. I do think that taste is formed. Not Not by what you love but also by what you oppose and yourself. A selfish formed by that as well. The kind of person you are is not just about who you love and what you love and embracing everything and being diverse and an inclusive. It's also about what you oppose and that's really important when it comes to music because music is also about politics and it's also about society is not just about as much as I love music basic. That's just about being on the dance floor and having fun with you know. I'm a lover of soul music because everybody knows however it is important to have taste and have views and to propose and height things will as as much as two luffing. That's my view. We default you. That's fine I I don't think that that's that's a problem for our podcast We continue to put up with you holding that Strange Hairy Legged Yogurt. Eating love bead wearing dreadlocks. This is his constant five nights in Melbourne. I think the final night and Ustralia five million five Melvin yet The obviously people were there to see fleetwood Mac and people loved fleet with by really really loved. Neil Finn well yeah it was well when we say well yes but I mean it surprised me the degree to which I mean.

"Is love cleared back music. You lovely MAC music love it. You like everybody likes Fleetwood MAC? So some crew members working at Mickey D's in Fleetwood England, got a chance to meet Fleetwood MAC after thousands of Facebook users joined a campaign calling for Stevie nicks to work a shift. The restaurant event on Facebook called upon Stevie. They head into the branch, this is in Lancaster here of McDonald's, almost a namesake of her band. While the petition prompted twenty thousand signatures, Bandou instead invited the McDonald's workers to attend their sold out show at Wembley stadium. The other night. Yes, sounds like a much better option than having to go and work in. Photo taken backstage shows the McDonald's crew. Hanging out with Mick, and Stevie in John mcvie, and Christine. Rest of the band before being given the chance to watch them from the side of the state. Cool, actually, it was a pan tastic evening saying, we would MAC live have the opportunity share the experiences. Some of the Fleetwood McDonald's team said the franchise owner, I'm still amazed the band gutting touch. We're lucky our restaurant shares the name. "And Fleetwood was a wonderful player. And you know that was one of the other guys, I gave it was fleet when second right now at six on that he's a really good player to Brian Melville. What's up Ryan? Mike, are you? Good. Said yesterday that he is mentally colored than the rest of, of his, his opponents. Okay. And they Victoria minutes like Mejias. Maybe now, if you're, if you're McElroy, Dawson Johnson. That's, that's, that's like a knock on them, though. So. Go out there and do first of all doesn't Johnson his best friend. The best friends, okay? They work together. They lift weights together their best friends, they love each other. So there's no issue there. What kept saying is I think right now that I have an advantage in these tournaments and he came in here and stated that anyone else shot, sixty three so who used to say the same thing that used to ride APL, Jack Nicklaus. Technically made a quote, which tick people off where he said. I know when I walk into a major, I have eighty percent of the locker room beat by walking in the door. What he was doing was being honest as what he was doing. He was being honest. Off to a good start. You know, now he's putting a little bit of nine. Only listen, he's ready put the pressure on himself kept his not worried about this kept going forward. I don't think I don't think he's going back with their well, if I'm macaroni Jonathan that going three, I'm taking personal. Well, what play better? You know what? Dustin Johnson won't be teams with them right now because, you know speed finish inside them speech will be team with him tomorrow. Unless fleet will be team with them, but maybe they'll be teams on Sunday. Maybe it'll be team together on Sunday, but they are best friends, so. They are playing. Let me see what number they're playing the plan of three of laying eight. I think the play in the bait right now. His Tiga plane eight yards today KEPCO safely on a green Molinari safely on the green tiger. Looks like you safely on the green. Yeah. All had really nice shots, somebody hitting close. Mullen, they're all three have makable putts on a. That's what they all right now. And kept his forehead of Fleetwood, who is six ova, Paul and Fleetwood is.

"He is my fix but a bitch. And then you gotta look at the bomber gotta look at the Fleetwood the walks it that dusty Johnson, correct? Yeah. I mean, I basically told you Fleetwood is my top choice. So I like him as my top choice. And then Fowler is my second. But obviously, I don't trust Ricky in these situations. But I think unlike Carver high in the sense that he's he keeps getting closer and closer. And he seems unfazed by the press. Anything else? He's a great golfer, and you would think like Sergio Garcia can do it who has been all over the place. This guy's game has been everywhere in a river in the woods at grandmother's house you name it, but he wanted to master. So he can do it. Anyone can do it. If you ask me that struggled, and there's no one that struggles more in majors than Rickie Fowler. So I think one of these times it's going to break through, and you know, he's played there. So many times he's he's done. Well, there I think he's dangerous with those odds. He's got a shot for sure. So I'll throw him in there. Why is your voice shot that you picked him? You. Listen your top five to win the masters. The last five to seven years. Everybody has had Ricky Fowler that he just hasn't got everybody picks them every year. That's not a shocking for you to say the shot. Yeah. I'm not. I don't think it's shocking either that I picked him. I really don't. But it is. I think he's just shocked. We both picked him. I I like, Tommy Fleetwood. He's been playing golf everywhere. But it's very hard in my opinion to pick a winner of golf tournament. Very hard to pick one person that frankly wins and ask our or an Indy. Five hundred or. Golf tournament. There's so many people playing in it. You know what I mean? It's you have no idea. What's going to happen over four days? It has done. Right. So a lot of people think that the guy that's in the clubhouse lead after Thursday's gonna win it. And a lot of times that guy on Thursday and Friday is in the final pairing on Sunday. It's weird. So anything's possible. You better be ready to go on Thursday. Because if you're not you'll be left behind our the ones that get you know dig and from the jump enter in it from the jump they're usually in it the whole weekend. Then sometimes guys fall off for sure there, you go Virginia wins the national championship. Over time over Texas tack with their twelve free throws in the extra session. A lot of them were files to stop the clock. But they got some nice reverse calls with instant replay that help.

"Tonight. You have the double header at the garden you have Xavier and Villanova Xabi needs probably a winning over to be a team that can get tournament. I think they at least need that. And the other three teams are all in Marquette was impressive last night. And on the players golf right now you have. Fleetwood out in front. He is twelve under par harmonised ten furic day. Kisner Poulter McElroy. That's where we are. Right now. How Keith Mitchell? Patrick reid. But right now, it's all Tommy Fleetwood twelve on the fall, he's been playing brilliant. You really has Ryan talk. What's up, right? You good. What's happening? That's an awful sorry about the play off. Yeah. Well, you know, let's wait till we get the full story, but doesn't sound good. That's for sure. But I called for us. I wanted your opinion 'cause I'm kinda conflicted with us. When Sunday comes with Eli manning hugely light manic fan. Giant fan. And I it's emotional. I guess so you think about is the timeframe out. What would you do what what is your opinion about it? I stated the same thing for two years. And that is if the giants are ready to commit to a quarterback, then I understand and it's time to move on. And they should move on completely. I don't wanna halfway if they don't if if the giants feel like we just don't have anywhere to go for quarterback. We we don't feel quarterback is here. Future quarterback. Does hasn't shown up yet? Then keep Eli because we will last year when as many games as you possibly can. And then go after your quarterback next year. I mean to me that's the way to go. I don't want them to have ally. Here pay him that money and then bringing a quarterback because what will become as soon as you draft a quarterback. Or if you bring Rosen here if you bring a quarterback in the first round it's going to be about playing the quarterback the fans the coaches everybody always wants to get onto the future. If they know this allies last year, it becomes exactly emblematic of Kurt Warner and Eli where Kurt Warner had a winning record. And they sat down to put Eli into getting experience because they wanted to move on to be the future with you put the same year, and you wind up going no way that you. So to me, I don't like those seasons. I think they don't make any sense, you think they could win with Eli this year or you think they I think they have a lot of holes to fill. I think I think they can move. If you tell me they can put the defense together. I think he likes to do enough for them to have a decent year if they can get some people to play. Offense. I mean last year as bad as things were and they played their list. Four games without Beckham and scored very well. In three of the four games got shut out in the Tennessee game. The other three games they averaged over thirty points. They could have won. Aac games last year very easily. With that team. And with all that craziness that could've won eighteen games and their offensive line was just putrid. Conor in Belmont. What's up? What's happened? Hopefully..

"But they are surrounded by people publicists managers who want to make sure that they don't do something that is contrary to the image that they're trying to, cultivate, so what is it like when you're in. In a session with somebody. And either that person or that person's people think that there are things that they should and should not do. And how do you get them to do something that you think they should do even if they're reluctant? Well, well, you just hit the nail on the head. When it comes to the strategy that somebody that I really think that they are going to be, you know, a partner in crime and make a great photograph really have this experience. Then I would bring it up on the phone usually a conversation before we get to far into it. However, I would say seventy five percent of the time when I'm working on a on a concept, I'll sort of do it. I'll put it together. It'll be ready by the time they get there. And then, you know, usually a sort of a pre shoot meeting go over concepts and sometimes. The publicist will step in and go like you're not doing that. And then they'll go. Well, yes, I am or they'll give it some thought. And they'll say, I don't think this is quite right. And then nine of ten times they kind of come back, and we figure out how to make it work for everybody. But you know, the rule is you don't give up too much because somebody's going to get, you know, nervous about it. If it's not the publicist that might be the artist. So I always lean towards not giving it up to quickly, you know, without being like a total surprise of, you know, here the flippers and the baby seal, you know, I feel like you gotta you gotta just kind of use into it. And I have a good track record after doing this enough times to where I think people can get excited that while he put his energy into this. And he really cares about this. And I remember one of the first experiences with Rolling Stone where how the opportunity to do that play. That was with Fleetwood MAC, and I was. Supposed to call. Mick Fleetwood at a recording studios in New York, and I picked up the phone, and I said, hey, I got this idea about the picture with you and John mcvie, and he was like a really what is it neces-? What do you know? Celebrate your twenty five years Rolling Stones twenty five years and kind of push it together and do a great wedding photograph of you, and John and there was dead. Silence. Rice. And he goes all right, Mark. I just have one special request, and I was going. Well, what's that? And he goes, I want to be the bride and that to me that was the biggest help in terms of the way that I encourage that process. It's like if you give somebody something that they really feel they can visualize and see and play with. It's it's fun for them. I wanna ask about another picture of Curtis Mayfield. He in a bed. You're shooting kind of above him s if you're almost kind of a human drone looking down on him and his bed 'cause you talk about how that picture came together. How you staged it? The way you stage it or how much of that was actually where Curtis was in his life at that point. Well, that's how we met him the day before the shoot, we, you know, typically the way that I will I will work is is try to, you know, have a meeting before if I can if we're in a town, and we're. Sussing out a location. So obviously Curtis was at home. We went by to look at the location and make some decisions, and you know, the the really the only movement he had was in a little bit in his hands and a little bit in his head has neck. So that's how we saw him in his room. This is where he spent most of his time, and I was quietly getting to know him and talking to him, and he was just the sweetest soul. And I said had this idea about photographing you from above because I just love this environment. And I said would that be okay with unit goes absolutely goes?.
