Chelsea Coaching Carousel Continues
"Lampard site as chelsea the stevie nicks and don hutchinson here to discuss that decision. St let's start simply showy. Was it fair. i don't think he's fear. No the problem is that we're talking about a club that's not normal. We're talking about club that regardless of the name of the manager regardless of the cv yelich or experience or whatever it may be when you lose so many games You don't get a chance to to get back your way. You may have been before you lose games. You lose your job. That's kind of their immortal. And so frank just falls into the into the spot where others before him. Have you lose goodbye. don't they. Size it in the statement. They weren't saying any particular progress under lampard fair. I think that's fair. I do think though he should not have been more time. It's going to be difficult for him so when you are in difficult times. I would've thought. I would shut him a little bit loyalty and more only little bit patients and if it didn't work out in a month salmon chelsea was still in his position then tell them to stop in time and just seems a little bit off. What was it. What was the last straw. Well not not the luton game because they wanted strange when you suck someone to win we even. If it's in the autumn of to hold up in the league for example. I think he's an accumulation of things like the boys of said. The results haven't been good enough. He's the manager of the abramovich era with the lowest point tally per game again which is just not good enough. It's not good enough the performances that they've put the way they played no identity and we at the end of january. Now no patterns of plano star. There's nothing you can see really in the game. They played too many defeats sunday in the last six weeks and i think he also pays the difficult relationship behind with marina. He can argue that he wanted can ride. I didn't think the team was balanced. He needed a bit more time. Whatever excuses he can come up with. I think overall is just not good enough and and we've seen in the past sake managers who've won great things like marino konchalovsky and keeping some like sorry like to finish the season and finished with with with a trophy as well for he must have. Cavs' Sexton outplays Irving, shreds Nets in double OT
"All right. Let's do the nets again. That was the big story last night. Is the debut of the big three in cleveland and they did dig out of a big fourth quarter whole force overtime. Get's off three and it's scottie ties the game with what port two seconds remaining and the nets us a time out. The game is even at one. Twenty seven chris. Green here the fan that force double. Yeah that's whatever was saying as he had to stand for another five minutes of that game between the nets and the cavs and then sexton from there really went off scoring fifteen of his game. The rest of the way little shades of mariah carey fell right. I felt perfect long together. Joining together is going to be fine. You know tougher. Star especially up and down game force. But i no playing with kevin durant james harden just those names along right now. We're having some fun
Amanda Gorman makes history as youngest inaugural poet
"It's interesting that Democrats choose to honor poets and Republicans aren't really into that. That aspect of the inauguration. I think it's really Really beautiful the way poets have been able to stitch together an American collective narrative through their poems. You know, in the past democratic inaugurations, I've remember my Angelou. Marry Angelo reciting that poem, and I think that was the first time that I was moved really internally moved by hearing her words and then, obviously Elizabeth Alexander. So I'm looking forward to today. I think s so many of us feel a five relief but also cautiously optimistic. I mean, we we do know that there are domestic terrorists of sort of threatened to ruin this day, so I think a lot of people want to get to 12 o'clock. And they want to get sort of. They want to savor the day but also get through the day. So it feels like a new administration is on followed footing. And here's maybe where the poetry and prose meat a little bit as reported in USA Today this morning. Amanda Gorman told the AP that she was not given specific instructions on what to write for the inaugural poem, but that she was encouraged to emphasize unity and hope. Over quote, denigrating anyone or declaring Ding Dong. The witch is dead over the departure of President Donald Trump. She's calling her inaugural poem The Hill we climb. Woman says she has been given five minutes to read. I believe the My Angelo poem also was five minutes prior to what she called the Confederate insurrection on January 6th. She had only written about 3.5 minutes worth, she told the AP. She said That day gave me a second wave of energy to finish the poem, adding that she will not refer directly to January 6 but will touch upon it. She said the capital mob did not upend the poem she had been working on because They didn't surprise her and quote the poem isn't blind. It isn't turning your back to the evidence of discord and division. So some
The President's picture
"Now back on election night in two thousand eight. I was sitting on the couch watching the news. My career in photojournalism at morphed into a career shooting weddings. Not because. I really wanted that because it paid money. Such is life and so there. I was sitting on that couch. Not working the most historical election night of my life. The crowd is reaching a million in grant park. The anchor said in washington. Tens of thousands of people are gathered at the white house. Some tv journalist explained breathlessly. And i couldn't take it anymore. I looked at the clock. It was eleven. I gotta go. I said to man where she replied. No i gotta go make a picture of something and so a jumped into my car and sped down a sleepy military road. And then i loved myself. Where would i find a parking spot near the white house. Isn't it funny. How logistics can be such a buzzkill aloft. Again you idiot. Forget the white house. Go to the lincoln. Martin luther king marian anderson. I have a dream. I figured there'd be thousands of people just like the white house was a ton of the twenty. Six as i walked up at tv crew was walking away. Nothing to see here. My fellow agenda said to me. Helpfully barack obama's speech from bronco was coming through the radio. My fellow citizens. I stand here today humbled by the task before us. Grateful for the trust. You've bestowed mind-mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I felt lanka wounded into a candid camera prank twenty-six very quiet people who gathered around a single transistor radio in the steady drizzle. Not even a mile from where tens of thousands of people were screaming. Their heads off. It was around midnight and was very dark in the rain was fogging things up on my camera. But i'm made some pictures because that's what we journalists do the next morning at six. Am i emailed gone you at the new york times. I think. I wrote something like election night. Lincoln memorial twenty six people in rain in the subject filled to get his attention. Five minutes later. My phone rang. i chuckled. The photo ran the size of a stamp on the op-ed page of the times. The next day better than nothing. I thought then some woman named connie email me i say some woman comically because i didn't know her at the time she has since become a dear friend but back in two thousand and eight two days. After the election of barack obama. She was just columnist. I didn't know saying she wanted to write a story about my picture and she was on deadline so i called her back and some guy named sherritt answered the phone detecting trend here. Connie really needs to talk to you but she's just getting out show. Just hang on a few moments. She'll be here so i talked to share it for five minutes chatting about the election and everything and having no idea i was talking to a united states senator email. My sister woman named connie schultz interview today connie schultz. I love her. She's on msnbc all the time you dingo and connie wrote beautiful column. Everyone was excited for me. The grainy photo of the twenty-six folks in the dark and the rain that i shot for no publication in particular was suddenly gaining traction. My neighbor republican joe crowley loved it. He asked me if he could give some to his colleagues. I made copies. Joe gave them to members of the congressional black caucus he also brought one to the white house event and gave it to the president and that photo got framed and hung outside the president's study for eight years and that's where this story should end except that in two thousand sixteen after donald trump was elected. The new president-elect was invited for white house to by president. Obama and my old friend pete souza took a photo of that man. Sizing up the president's study. Will you see in. The photo is his orange hair as he pokes his head in and his hands on the wall right next to my framed photo. Pete's picture is awesome and that's where this story ends except for today because i've been getting e mail after e mail from people who've gotten their hands on president obama's memoir and in his memoir. He says that my photograph the slightly boring one of twenty six people standing in the rain is his favorite photo from his election night. His what president obama rights. But i worry the my memories of that night night so much else has happened these past twelve years a shady by the images that i've seen the footage of our family walking across the stage the photographs the crowds and lights and magnificent backdrops as beautiful as they are. They don't always match the lived experience in fact my favorite photograph from that nice isn't a drum park toll rather it's the one i received later as a gift. The photograph the lincoln memorial taken. As i was giving my speech. It shows a small gathering of people on the stairs that's is obscured by the dot is behind them. The giant figure shining brightly. Here face craggy is is slightly downcast. They're listening to the radio. I am told quietly contemplating who we are as people. And the ark of this thing. We call
How do I market a local healthcare clinic?
"I want to start with that document under who asked today's question tried. A bunch of things tried a bunch of things before asking. This question tried facebook as as a website. Did some free consultations kind of struggling and not really sure how to market the physical business. The physical clinic in the area in malaysia. So today my job is to help document on d. and everybody else who's listening has a physical business and give you the fundamentals the things you have to do to market that business. This is basically going to help you get people through the door okay. Everything else is kind of window window-dressing it will be sickly. Be adding fuel to the fire but if all some of the things that i mentioned say it's going to give you a good chance to get people to get your business to learn more about what you have and become a customer. First of all dr mandate mentions a website. A website is a must have regardless of physical business or an online business. This is how people find out about you. You want to own the narrative about what your business is. What is it about. You want to tell the story of your business. You want to give the information that people are looking for. I wonder if this business does that. The other thing. You have to answer the questions and you do that with your website. Your website is also a great way to be found when people search now one of the things that you need to understand the physical business. Is that search engine. Optimization is going to be your best friend because this is how people choose where to go for something like an aesthetics physician right to go to a clinic. They're gonna shop around. They're gonna do some research and they're going to do through google so you definitely need a website because google wants to see that you have a presence the second thing. Our argument other than a website is listing. Your business on google. Google will list your business so it's found as a local business that means when somebody searches for your business or searches the keywords in her business like aesthetics physician. Your business shows up on google if they're in your local area. This is incredibly important because you automatically get exposure just by being in that searchers local area just like if i write italian restaurant on google. It's gonna show me italian restaurants in my local area. So how do you get listed on google. Well it's actually a pretty simple process You can fall. The step-by-step process by literally writing list. My local business on google on google right then the in the search box. Google gives the steps. Okay but basically google just verify you are actually a physical business. And they're basically going to send you a postcard to address of your local business that it's going to say in google your local businesses at a certain address. It's going to send that postcard address and postcode will have a code will tell you this website. Enter this code. This will verify that this is actually a real physical business located at this address and once you do that. You can update that information on google and you'll be listed. This is actually rule number. One you gotta do this. You gotta list your local business on google. So people could find you locally. Now that you're listed. Google reviews are really important and they will get you to the top of that list when people search for your type of business in your local area so this is incredibly important. When you have a new business is to get people to review you on google. Now if you're on a clinic you have an advantage of the fact that people are filling out forms. They're going to spend a little time. You're clinic asana fast interaction. So even after their first consultation you hand them an ipad and ask to give you a review on the spot as soon as the concentrations over. It's going to take two seconds and it's okay. They've already spent thirty minutes to an hour. They're not really in a super super rush. Not going to do it but more people than not will do. And you'll get the reviews. You need every time. Somebody comes in for a consultation. I know you need some foot traffic to make the happen but this should be a practice. Should be procedure. Every time somebody finishes any kind of consultation give you google review next. You need to look into your local area and find some partnerships you need to find other businesses that will have similar customers and partner with them. Money you an example. My local burger joint has a deal with The local cinema where they have a dealer you by burger and drink and you get a movie ticket for x. amount of price so it's like a bundle deal so in this case. The theater is benefiting because they're getting free advertising. They're getting free marketing from this burger joint now in reverse. The theater will do a similar bundle deal. Advertising to the theater goers go and grab a burger from this local burger joint now if you have aesthetics clinic you may want to look into the local dentists. People that go to the dentist are often doing it for cosmetic reasons not just for health reasons and you can do some sort of partnerships or sort of deal where you can give them sort of discount. Some sort of bundle With every purchase of something at the dentist like checkup or a whitening and you can do the same for the dentist on your side. The players is that you're not just blanket advertising to every single person these are ideal customers people that are willing to spend money on the same things so somebody who's willing to whiten. Their teeth is going to be willing to do something at your clinic. They're willing to spend money at what you offer. So the deal makes sense for both not only the customer but also you in the dentists next if you want to do a mass offer and get maximum exposure you should look into offering a deal on groupon now. Groupon is not a money maker. You have to see this as a customer acquisition tool often people break-even they don't really make much money on the group on deal the whole point of getting the group on just to get people through the door so they can come back and be a repeat. Customer group demands that you actually have a pretty lucrative deal pretty attractive deal and of course they get their cuts at the end of the day. You probably don't make much money but again it's a customer acquisition tool to get them to really love your experience and then come back for additional consultations next some of us. We tried to get more and more different customers. Instead of trying to get the same customers to come in more often is another way you can grow your businesses. Hey instead of trying to get fresh blood incentivize your current customers even if you have five customers that once a year have five customers. Come once a month. You just went from five to sixty sales and you could use bundle packages. I don't massage therapists do this all the time. Where you they can buy in bulk where they could buy six therapies in one shot. Another method is what is done in the restaurant business. Where when they come in for the first time after the first consultation you give them like a card that entitles them to something for free with their knicks consultation. So for example. If i was running a massage clinic or massage shop. I can give him a card. That says you're going to get a free twenty five minute Foot scrub with your next treatment. So it encourages them to show up and comeback and even though you're giving away a twenty five minute foot scrub they're coming in for a consultation and they're getting another experience another win and it becomes more of a tradition more of a regular staple in their life to come to your shop to come to your business.
AI and the Evolution and Automation of Live Chat - with LivePerson CEO Robert LoCascio
"So rob. I want to dive in to the future of a and chat in the enterprise and the little bit of your journey there. But before i even do even ryan this company for quite some time when you guys started online chat in the ninety s companies public firm for twenty years. Here when you look to your business something. Like i don't know how many seventy or eighty million conversations you're handling in any given month when you look down at your business tried to find where. Ai could layer value for your clients. How did you think through that process. Because it seems like that's almost an endless There's almost an endless number of answers. They're basically looking at the data center. We do about seventy eighty million conversation month. I kinda you know that data we could take and look at how are use cases around banking and telco and and and retail and healthcare. These are big customer bases. Come from these verticals. How can we automate those conversations and so we basically just dove into the data we aggregated. The data looked at across customer. And we could see that there were patterns that made really good conversations. So that drove is to say okay. Let's build a host of tools and a new platform called conversational cloud in which we could enable large enterprises market customers to scale their conversation. Automate them and with the onset of covid the there was a massive massive impact contact centers the contact center agents help and nope he was there. They couldn't take calls so so they went home now. They're taking calls there and so there's been a massive drive to automation now because having someone work at home and answer calls just not the way to go. How do you automate that through a digital experience. That's really what's happened and obviously with the onset of covid firms like yourself or now in this position to potentially catch the opportunity to major way when you look at serve. What's potentially automated man even there so much to get into. I mean there's for each individual business that you work with you know maybe a work in with a one. Eight hundred flowers may be. You're working with us. The citibank guys work with some of the biggest companies in america here. The use cases are relatively bespoke And i know you. You worked on building a tool. That's at least understandable for nontechnical people. We definitely need subject matter. Experts to layer context and to structure or flow flows for these conversational systems. But you determine what the bounding box would be because even that feels feels endless and you need to kind of focus in somewhere yes we. We're all this under the header of commerce. And i fundamentally believe that conversation. Commerce is going to be the next leg of digital so we had ecommerce and now we're shifting see commerce and e commerce is is a very interesting thing when you think about like show up at a website and basically every website looks the same right. I mean top nab. Yeah data and google set those rules instead of you don't do that. We won't index you and that's why everything looks the same so what you're seeing is digital each brand doesn't have its own personality now with conversational commerce. You develop your own personality and you develop your own way to engage your consumers too like chapultepec. We had obviously during covid. What happened was people didn't want to go in and get a burrito and make They don't want to sit there for five minutes. Make freedom so chapultepec turn to us said we want to build an automation that somebody could come into their mobile device to any messenger front facebook. I message app and we want to configure a burrito and or whatever they want and they built. We built this Automation called pepper. It's called pepper and you can communicate with pepper. And then you show up at the door and the handed to you. And so that's the poultry. One we've got David's bridal which also people didn't want to come and people get married but do you want to go and sit in the store and try and addressing the one of the largest bridal companies in the world. We automated looking at different things for your body type for your style making an appointment. So you're the only one that's in that store. Don't have a crowd in the store. We built all that. This is just examples during kovin but every one of our customers get the ability to create a conversational experience. That's unique to them. And that's what makes commerce Yeah i i could certainly see the argument that linear text back and forth actually has potentially less less opportunity for really robust customization than you know. Really fancy dancy website. But but i get where you're where you're coming from. I think that there is like a. There's a certain flavor of the brand that you get from talking that maybe you wouldn't get from from a website and obviously what you're saying is that we can tailor that of course with a website. There's a lot we can do with color and features and video and whatever but certainly there's personalization on the conversation side. I could kind of see arguments on both sides there with respect to working with these big brands again. You're you're dropping some pretty pretty big names here. Names of almost everybody listening in has heard of what does it look like to set up these unique systems for them because obviously chipotle's use case which by the way feels very accessible. The number of burritos you can build is not unlimited right as opposed you guys work with delta airlines. The number of things i can complain about to my airline is. There's probably two dozen. You could tackle off the cuff. But but there's gotta be another four hundred that are just we're handing this to a human being but cipolla feels. Wow that feels like almost like dominoes. Chat bot was pretty popular. Winning hundred flowers was doing some stuff. Because there's only so many purchase options but when you go into different clients you got big airlines. You got these restaurant chains. What's that process of really working with them. Because there's got to be a bespoke build out part. You got your core platform you guys are able to use. You have a tremendous amount of data and a lot of staff obviously which it looked like to hop into these big brands and build out. Something that really drives value for our platform conversational cloud. We really broken into three areas in and around the three areas of need when you're looking at scale automation. One is the intent. We called intent manager in its technology that ingests all the conversations and then organizes the intense. So we talk about intense anti-business. What is it consumers. They haven't intention to do something with you. They want to buy something. They wanna customer care question answered and that's an intention and we call that technology intent so we organized the intense and it turns out as we all know. We all asking and attentively. So i may ask a bill differently than you do. But the technologists differences aggregate them. And then what you get to see a list of all the intense in your business. And what are the contents and where the mid level. I'm usually what we say. Let's go solve the top intense bam one and is thirty percent of all the voice calls. You're having

India starts 'world's biggest' COVID-19 vaccination drive
"The world's biggest national vaccination campaign is now underway. Not in the U. S. But India today's the first day that Indians congrats the Corona virus vaccine and the Indian government aims to inoculate 300 million people by July. NPR's Lauren Frayer is in Mumbai. Lauren. Thanks so much for being with us. Thanks for having me Scott 300 million people is almost the entire population of the United States and they're going to vaccinate them all in less than six months. How do they plan to do it? Yes, So, of course, it's only about 20% of this country, and that's just the first batch. It'll take a couple years to vaccinate all nearly 1.4 billion Indians. But India is doing this in much the same way it organizes elections, which is spread out over weeks. Here, they're using voter rolls to identify people and just like poll workers carry Elektronik voting machines up to mountaintop monasteries and villages in the jungle. They have these mobile medical teams to bring vaccines on ice to the remote ist places in India. Now, most of the vaccines centers that open today are in hospitals in big cities like in Mumbai, where I am and we know today's the first day. What's the scene? Like in Mumbai? There's an atmosphere of excitement. It's frontline and health workers. Some of these air sanitation workers who are among the first one's getting vaccinated. Some of them got flowers from well wishers. Government ministers are crowding in everybody's trying to take Photos here is the dean of a medical school in Chennai. Her name is our Jayanti and truly a very privileged beneficially today. And I'm feeling absolutely fine. It's almost more than five minutes inside of the news. I'm feeling great. Now she's in the first group of 30 Million Frontline workers. Next in line is anyone over 50 or with a pre existing condition and which vaccine or vaccines? Is India using? Yes, so there are two in use here, one developed by Oxford University and the big pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca. The other is from an Indian company called Bharat Biotech. Both are being manufactured inside India. India is the world's biggest vaccine maker. And so a lot of the covert vaccines being used around the world will actually be mass manufactured right here in people choose. No, they can't and that is a bit of a controversy because most Indians will get the AstraZeneca won. The local manufacturer here is turning out about 100 million doses a month. Now half of those are for export. The other vaccine. Indian one is still in phase three clinical trials in data isn't yet out. Here is one of the critics. Deena's talk or is a public health activist. It may very well be a good vaccine. It's just that we don't know enough about except fricassee. Concerned absence off the efficacy data. I mean, people are asking the question talking. Why? Why did you do that? Why did the government approved this vaccine is what he's asking. And what does the government say? Well, the drug regulator says it wanted to have more than one vaccine available for Indians, the company behind the vaccine. Bharat Biotech, says its formula is 200% safe. There's really some speculation that the government just approved this out of pride really that it wanted to approve an Indian maid vaccine alongside one from a big multinational company like AstraZeneca. We've done stories here, of course, about hesitancy among some Americans about taking the vaccine. I wonder if that's reflected in India, too. It's much less of a thing in India. Actually, India managed to eradicate polio and lots of other diseases through big vaccine drives like this. India also has the second highest Covad caseload in the world behind the U. S. The viruses Devastated the Indian economy. And so there's a hope that you know this. This vaccination campaign allows India to return to normalcy.
India Covid Vaccine Campaign Begins
"Vaccination campaign is now underway and not in the U. S. But India today's the first day that Indians congrats the Corona virus vaccine and the Indian government aims to inoculate 300 million people. By July. NPR's Lauren Frayer is in Mumbai. Lauren. Thanks so much for being with us. Thanks for having me Scott 300 million people is almost the entire population of the United States, and they're going to vaccinate them all in less than six months. How did they plan to do it? Yes, So, of course, it's only about 20% of this country, and that's just the first batch. It'll take a couple years to vaccinate all nearly 1.4 billion Indians. But India is doing this in much the same way it organizes elections, which is spread out over weeks. Here, they're using voter rolls to identify people. And just like poll workers carry Elektronik voting machines up to mountaintop monasteries and villages in the jungle. They have these mobile medical teams to bring vaccines on ice to the remote ist places in India. Urban Meyer returns to coaching with Jacksonville Jaguars
"Smart there. Don't tip your hand. Their urban meyer. Even though everybody knows it's going to be trevor lawrence. It's the number one overall. Pick going to jacksonville. Here's the thing. Marcus what did you think of some of the things that urban had to stay today especially about adapting. Yeah that's the only thing that mattered to meals Obviously we talked about urban. Meyer never being. Nfl head coach. But how fast you get the respect of these rome in. How fast can you let them know that we all pulling in the same direction but you also want them to have their individual success. I think coaches missed that in the nfl sometimes like those things can be cohesive. They can work together. You can have teen success but also coaches. That's coming into the league. These acknowledge that a lot of these guys want to have individual success because not only does it further your career in the. Nfl helps your family off the field. You get paid when you ball and then when you set up for success so adaptability was amazing for me and then to. I'm not going to get caught up in this whole quarterback who they gonna take i. There's a dark room somewhere in jacksonville where there's a huddle of about thirty to forty people already. Printing a damn treble lowers all is to or submitted so they could put up on the website and sell out in five minutes. That's all that the jacksonville jaguars go sale jerseys like own a serious though. Y'all trouble or is being drafted number one overall. Obviously he checks the boxes with skill level and talent but there is a city ride known. This there is sweets that that need to be sole jerseys. That need to be sold and a shock of excitement around this organization franchise. I don't think anybody can do it. Like trouble lawrenceville.
How Docket is Revolutionizing Meetings Through a Product-Led Model
"Why did you start docket. Like what was the kind of story enter in the company and has your growth been surprisingly accelerated due to the year. We've had so yes to the second question. But i i have been in indianapolis. My entire career been technology mind tire career. I've been a junior developer at an early stage startup of ten people. I've been mid-level manager at a high growth company exact target and i've been a c. Level executive of publicly traded company in the one consistent thing through all those experiences no matter the company culture or the position i was in it felt like to high percentage of the meetings. I was in felt like a waste of time right. Just felt like they were often covering the same conversations the same topics over and over again and so As i started looking around for what. I really wanted to do from a career perspective. I really wanted to build a company. I've built lots of products built. Let's teams And i really wanted to focus all my energy investment into starting something from the ground up and this just seemed like with the technology we have in place today in with these before. Covid the slow move to video conferencing and this was a prime time to really bring the technology to the forefront in a collaborative way and really make this problem. Go away for for the average user so we started that and we saw immediately you meetings or something that people have an almost visceral reaction to when you talk about them and so it's a universal problem and we saw that immediately when we put your just simple website a little bit of of social of campaigns to drive awareness and it was immediate people were attracted to the solution started signing up starting using it and then when the pandemic hit obviously you had this huge focus on the need to find these collaboration tools. These tools now suddenly every conversation. You're having is a meeting right to make sure that you're being as productive inefficient as you can. Because it's very obvious on on a remote setting if you're wasting people's time and much more so than in local setting in fact so we've seen that huge ramp up and that lift and we early on identified zoom as a strategic partner for us. We wanted to make sure that we were in lockstep with what their road roadmap wasn't what they were doing. And that's paid huge dividends for us. Yeah i really wanted to get into. Because i think at marketplace is going to spawn simply the successful companies coming back to a couple of things on docket. You mentioned. I think you had fifteen thousand users and you mentioned kind of product lead so looked of dive into how you got your first kind of thighs and customers and then just get into how you the founder strategically thought about your go to market from the outset in how you thought about product lead so i kind of dive into customers or users High did you get from zero to like five customers or your fifteen thousand users in such a short amount of time for productivity growth company the user acquisition just has to be incredibly cost efficient right so we started out even before we had a website we started generating content that we would host on the website around just meeting management topics that focused around have productive meetings different types of meetings. That type of thing so seo is our kind of long term play. They're just generate content generate Organic users to the site and that's been working very well for us another aspect of what. We're we do. Obviously is meetings are naturally collaborative in nature so if one person finds dockets signs up starts using it for their team meetings. The other people in the meeting notice that the meetings of ran much better. There are artifacts out of docket agendas. Recaps that are branded docket. That are sent to people and they naturally click start signing up and start using it themselves so we have a very high percentage of of users that come through that viral aspect of the product Outside of that we did start playing with social ads in social campaigns. Just to see if we could drive interest and that was immediate it was. It's very easy to track people to this solution. Because the problem is almost universal. I think it was one of the finest bloom talked about the fact that they would if they had to create another company they would never create a company that didn't have inherent virality the the product like. They've they've learned the lesson that if the product itself is inherently viral things become a lot easier thing what. What's actually hard is not growth. It's monetization into a couple of things that that i was reading. Great tweet from david stocks just by sas companies and that also companies should try to think about teams and versus users. And this is like a good Thought exercise here and just hearing how you think about it because meetings could be a individual user tool and you could upgrade based on number of meetings. I actually don't know what your price is finite or you could try go for like large teams in large companies. How do you think about that as a user team till we Initially focused on the end. User your individual pain and our roadmap in our overall growth strategy is moved from individual team to business enterprise right. I mean just have have the natural growth that you're going to see from adoption of of the product itself lead into the roadmap and support large larger organizations. And so with that the way we've built docket as there's limitation on the number of meeting participants there's no limitation on the number meaning. You can have in the free version. It's use it as you can as best as you can to get more and more people onto the application and then we have a features in the first paid tier which is really for the small teams to help drive that conversion into that paid tear. You get more value out of it as you begin. Use it in team aspect you get some more consistency around the usage of the product and then the outcomes of your meetings are more productive overall Drives natural adoption. What are the interesting things that i love to get your thoughts nece. 'cause you're innocent under space I'm sure always trying to figure out your price packaging. So we had joe thomas. He is the co founder of loom. That was some time ago. Actually when they were earlier stage and they actually were going at a similar path. 'cause we were early. Adopters dot used loom at spread within a company. And it was they were basically trying to get as many individual used products as possible many users and they were then trying to upgrade your team based features recently at they switched the price and to monetize of the core value which is just anyone who's creating a video you can get five minutes or you have to upgrade to get any amount of minutes and so it seems like you're kind of going on the path. They initially went down. Which is like the is the core value for me actually immediate and then you wanna try to price team based kind of features and did you ever think about what kind of business it would be. Just kinda monetize the core value which is the need for the user. Absolutely it is one of those that we're still very early stage and we plan to rate quite a bit on pricing and packaging to learn. Because you you have hypothesis is you start out. But you really don't know We're seeing Good conversion rates On the paid tier as is but there is a large opportunity to to experiment with that especially as we move especially from a small teams into the large organizations where we now have organizations that have hundred seats four hundred seats. That type of thing is what's the value to the organization as a whole it had to be priced to make sure you're giving the premium
Here's what will determine whether Urban Meyer will succeed as Jaguars coach
"So rj breaking news here. It is a live radio show in anytime we have breaking news. We enjoy it especially when it's the news that just came out a short time ago. That urban meyer is the new head coach of the jacksonville. Jaguars so what you're saying is the podcasts. Are going to spend twenty five minutes speculate. And if he goes there or not aren't live okay. Except that i agree with you. I find this fascinating. Remember now i'm in ohio state graduate and obviously to some degree in urban meyer fan. I'm not a huge urban. Meyer fan to be honest with you because i don't love that every it seems like there's a a prima donna element to him aspect to him. The idea that okay. When i'm wanted you know it's like the girl who that always likes the guy chasing a right but once she said it was in. She's looking for that next guy to chase her. Because let's be honest if you're getting rewarded if you're getting flowers and candy. It's fine right the day to day grind isn't as fun and if you look at what the buckeyes of done sense. Urban meyer laughed with coach day. You can make the case. It's superior though they haven't won a national title yet that you know is your two year period. You could make the case that urban meyer did better. I don't know but i mean so. Now the question is well how much urban meyer is recruiting. Lay the groundwork. And all that. And i think that's true no doubt about it but in the nfl. You don't recruit. I mean you could say you do to some degree with free agency but it feels like to me. One of the reason college coaches don't do well in the nfl isn't because they're so overmatched that it's not that the xs and os are so beyond them. I have no doubt urban meyer's ability offensively especially with his scheme with his coaching. Ability is going to be fine if not extraordinary but it feels like that to be a great college coach. At least half of it is recruiting. And you're taking that great attribute urban meyer highs in making a nonfactor.

Yeah actually that was probably hard them writing the application itself so now i just need to work out when the next meeting. I can attend as in submit my application. "All cover funkaway topics that can help you improve your life sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Today we are talking about the good life I don't know about you but I love the good life to me. The good life is traveling where I want staying in beautiful hotels. There is nothing I. Love than a luxurious hotel, the feel of those Italian sheets. Oh my gosh. You know we all have different definitions of what is the good life for some people it's having a big big old boat to go on cruising around the lake or the ocean in Maybe for others it's too expensive car maybe it's a closet full of fabulous clothing jewels. You know we all have a different definition about it, but here's one thing that I think we all agree on having that material success that comes with. Having. Success is part of the good life whether that you have a better class of wine or you can afford champagne more often maybe you have beautiful jewelry and clothing nice handbags expensive shoes that thing we all have different. Expectations of life but one of the things that we can pretty much all agree on is that there are certain things that we have that make life the good life maybe it's a nice home maybe it's a home with a view maybe it's a an exotic vacation and like I said maybe for you or if you're like me you like a lovely hotel, there's nothing that makes me feel more opulent or pampered than staying in a beautiful. Hotel last year Tim and I went to Italy. We went to Venice, and then we went to Paris and then to epernay. France and we stayed in some beautiful places that I just you know it's something that you just dream of having coffee and breakfast delivered to your room. That's another thing. That's the good life for me I love having Room Service Tim makes fun of me because he likes to go and get coffee to starbucks or go. To the restaurant after we get up in the morning whereas I liked to have? Oh Gosh breakfast in bed brought to me, oh. There's just nothing more special I love Saint Regis hotels because when you stay at them, they have a personal butler who comes to your room and brings you coffee in the morning. So that's just part of staying at those hotels We stayed in one Saint Regis Hotel in Kyoto on the had a little. Private box that you're Butler has access to, and you could get your shoeshine. You could leave things in there and he would take care of them or you wake up in the morning and there would be a tray with gleaming Silver Coffee Pot in China cups to drink out of at just makes me feel great That's what I love. There's another thing that I love in that flowers frequently I love to have fresh flowers in the house. I bet you have certain things that you love to have. It's a big walking closet or you know A. Designer brand clothes you know whatever it is maybe if it's a maybe you've got a large screen, TV that you've got your eye on. Here's what I want you to know funkaway can help you get the good life, and that's because there is a part of your home that corresponds with the good life, and that is the front in the front of your Hong Corresponds to an area known as the Phoenix footstool now I bet you haven't heard much about that but we always here in functionally all about turtles and tortoises in the back of the home and supported the rear and all that kind of stuff. Well, the Phoenix is all about fun. It is it is a an element that corresponds to fire fire is about joy and optimism just think about how how slick, so warm and inviting when candles or flickering, and there's a fire in the fireplace. Fire is the element of fun enjoyment pleasure, success material awards. This is. One of the areas that it's like this is what makes life living yes it is great to have a good income and a good job, but the material rewards that we enjoy our lives whether that's that's a boat, a nice car beautiful home This is what makes life worth living. This is what makes life enjoyable and pleasurable, and this is what the Phoenix is all about. Now, the Phoenix, as you may recall from your your Lore and history is that this is the bird that would burn down and then rise again from the ashes. So this episode is Yes actually timed it's ninety nine, which is the which is the number nine is the number of fire and. Kind of coordinate sometimes with my the numbers of the episode and the the topics just like today because this is like a double fire number ninety nine, this is my ninth episode. In the Phoenix what other bird is is representative of fire. Now, before I jump in really quick I want to tell you that the episode podcast episode five, minute sanctuary one hundred is coming up at a very special gift for you and you'll only hear about it. You'll only know about it if you listen in to five minute punctuates insure to stay tuned for podcast episode one, hundred because I have a gift for you as my thank you for listening but let's Get back to this Phoenix footstool because it is the funniest thing in functional, it is the thing that is all about enjoyment and pleasure. So let's talk about that. Now as I mentioned earlier, we talked about the the tortoise, but let's back up even further. Let's talk about the armchair position. Now, the armchair position refers to the way your home is sited on your lot. So now for you apartment dwellers, you know you'll just have to hang in there with this Because, you can still have your Phoenix footstool to we'll talk about that. But the armchair position generally relates to the way your home is sited on land. So you typically want to have the the back of the House has a little rise or slope upwards or level is perfectly fine but we don't want is to have a house that falls away at the rear because this is just It's one of those things where it's like sitting on a stool all day yet the stool gives you a place to sit but not very comfortable for very long and you're back mind hurt that's because. You have little support and so having that rise is a is a an environmental symbol of the tortoise. The Tortoise provides support and it provides longevity just like you can sit in a chair with the back on it much longer than you can milking stool. It's the that kind of concept. Now, you also WanNa have I as you. If you can imagine if your your house looking toward the street on the left, you WanNa have a little bit of a rise or tall house next to you if you can if that's that's always ideal and on the right, maybe a little bit lower. Or shorter house What we definitely don't WanNa have is is a small house in between two big houses that that creates a whole other set of problems and that's a whole podcast. So. But the armchair position is something that is fairly widely known about funkaway. It's the idea that if your. Spouse were in a chair it would be an armchair there would be a nice high back. There would be a place to rest your arms on either side, and then here's what we're talking about today, and there would be a footstool for your feet. So you kind of want to imagine your house as an armchair and that there is an you know I don't know about you. But I love chairs like club chairs or bear share chairs that have that footstool that comes with them or maybe like a a nice. Cushion of some kind that you can put your feet up on. When you're sitting in that chair, we wanted to have a little rise little mound in front of our house, and that represents like our house where we were city seated in our house. We had that rise behind us and our we could put our feet out in front. Now, we're going to talk a little bit more about how you can represent. That in your landscape but this is how we want to view this this idea of the Phoenix footstool because really when you think about success and like you have arrived, what are you doing? You're relaxing right you're sitting there in your footstool with your feet up, you're drinking your champagne or your coffee or tea or whatever it is. Your is your favorite libation and you're able to relax. That's because once you've arrived. In. In financial terms you've also arrived materially. So for instance, may be have beautiful jewelry or nice clothing or a car that you enjoy driving those material possessions are the things that that make us feel good. That gives us a little bit more posh feeling. Maybe make us feel a little bit more spoiled. And Hey, there is nothing wrong with that because if you work for it and you have put your effort in, then you should be able to be allowed to sit back and relax and portrayed up, and that means enjoy that big-screen TV or that wonderful vacation that amazing crews of the Greek islands or whatever it is that your heart's desire and that means material success to you. So we've talked about this armchair position right and so we talked about that and how important is to understand that the Phoenix footstool is represented.

"Your health is wonderful and money isn't concerned than you don't have a funkaway problem. Even if the bathroom is in your well sector, your relationship corner or at the front door, it really doesn't matter. Another problem is that people frequently think that they are stuck where they are. Now with a little ingenuity, you might find that a new home or condominium apartment is possible. We're GONNA. Talk about that because I want to talk about how you really D- to look at your life and and and determine what's making you. Happy. What's making you on? Happy where where things working for you where they not working for you and then you go where they're not working for you go look at those areas of your home that they correspond to. So for instance, if your health bad while you're GONNA go look at the health sector in the east what's in that portion of? Your home and have romance is really good. I would be looking at what's going in the southwest corner. What's happening there? These are great tools and ways to analyze your home and and the good way to be thinking of it rather than this home has good function or that how has good functional because the doors this way the bedroom is located here the kitchen is over there and so on. Looking at your life is the best indicator of whether you're functionally is working like you want to. But. Let's say, for instance, upon reflection life really isn't working for you. Things are difficult and they've been difficult for a long time if you're really not sure whether to move or not. Doing this sort of personal assessment of your life is a good way to take stock of whether these are things that you can possibly change about yourself or change about your life or if this is something that just seems that it doesn't seem surmountable to you. So let's start talking about what some of these some of these things could could be in the way they could be showing up in your life. So for instance. One is that life has been one long uphill battle if constant struggle and misery has been a bigger part of your life than than the happy and joyous parts since you've lived in that home, then that might be something to think about when you're generally unhappy and you have the inability to make key areas of your life, take root and grow. This is a good indicator that the house or apartment isn't supportive or beneficial for you. It could also mean that the environment that surround your home is affecting your home your life. Now, this is something to to consider too sometimes it's not the four walls that are impacting your life. It's what's outside those fourth wall falls because. Functionally starts on the outside and goes in. So the type of environmental way that you have makes a big impact on how the house is working for you. So for instance. I remember seeing house out in. California my husband and I were we flew out to to California to go look at homes out in thousand Oaks California. He had a job offer with a a large biotech company and This was cost two thousand eight and we were looking around at houses and one of the houses that we were taken to see was house it was literally perched on the edge of a cliff. The back of the house when you walked when you drove up to the house is a beautiful circular driveway, and then when you looked outside, it just draw you know twelve feet past the front. The rear of the house it just it dropped off like you know like an absolute cliff. Well, it was clear that this family was struggling for some time and the the just that sense of desperation that was coming off of he's homeowners was palpable truly in what? I think was going on there was there was no support at the rear of the House. There's just no support and that's that meant that it had this environmental support that was a problem and you could actually see i. you know I had a fear of even being in the house because I thought one good little earthquake grumble and that. House, we go. Just down the Canyon in I wondered how how Life was for them how it treated them. You know that that family that lived there. I think it had been sort of you rolling rock up Agrees Hill, and so when you look around and you're trying to assess your home or your apartment look around we have one of the members of my facebook group had had. A comment about her she'd been looking for house and she was putting up pictures of houses and there's a couple of functionally knows. Out there and I can't go through all of them here but a couple of them are you don't really WanNa be across from hospital church you don't have big power lines cutting across you. You don't want to be looking at a ditch. You don't have a big parking lot at the front of your house things like that. You also don't WanNa. Have you know sort of ugliness drizzly maybe you have for instance I we we looked at a house not I. Don't know a couple years ago and in Houston it was beautiful neighborhood it was so pretty. Big beautiful trees at pull totally renovated. And there was a big tall fence in the backyard I. Mean, it's beautiful house really wonderful. But right behind it was a big construction yard with all these big trucks and you could hear them Dr Ram. Route. All the rumbling of the trucks and it just you know we're not gonNA. We're never going to overcome that and we're always going to be hearing it feeling that rumble if we moved into the House and I'm certain that that family did notice that and so if you are looking at your home look around to see what's inside your doors do you have beautiful? Beautiful Surroundings Jeff, Nice curb appeal usually I can almost tell you. With some certainty that I almost ninety nine percent certainty that most houses the have beautiful curb appeal have beautiful funk's.

"Cover functionally topics that can help you improve your life sure inspiring stories, and always end with three easy to implement tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your. Life. Hello there and welcome to this episode a five minute way see we're going to be talking about a topic the I don't really go over a whole whole lot because it just doesn't really happen that often, but it does happen and that is I. Think there are some times when People need to move the house just isn't support it for them and it's not one of those. Things that can be improved really. By moving things around because if if it were, I definitely would tell them You need to just move this here or change your bed that that way that kind of thing and It's really not something that I feel like a qualified functionally consultant recommends because getting up and moving house or changing your apartment isn't something that you do like a hand back. You know you just don't like swap your wallet out and off you go there's a whole lot involved. There's a lot of expense. It's a lot of time. It's a lot of energy and. So you know picking up and moving really it's just not something that just any old body wants to do just because. Well, you know I, don't like where the toilet is and the kitchen just not that. Great. So you don't WanNa. You know just pick up and move who does and this comes from somebody. I have moved more times than I wanna even tell you about and if I had to move I, think it would it would be the end of me right now. Especially during Cova but you know there are times when I do think it is a good idea and it is something that needs to be considered when they're certain criteria and we're GONNA be talking about those criteria today in this episode. But before we get started I just want to call out a particular listener who is a member my private facebook group the year of the rat facebook group I call them. The funkaway insiders and she is a just a dynamo, an amazing woman, a special education teacher in San Diego and just a darn nice human being a really really special woman. Her name is Susan Star Girl. That's how we're GONNA caller Susan star girl from San Diego and I just WanNa call her out because she listens to this podcast and she's also been a subscriber of mine since two thousand four now. If you don't know how long I've been publishing that has been that's my entire career. I actually started publishing the red slaughter back in two thousand and one, and so this is like the early the nascent days of when I began publishing and I just WanNa, say how special she is to me because of that I've seen her go through houses is living in in Plano Texas and then. Moving to to San Diego and and she's just a really wonderful person and I, it was really nice. Last year I went out to San Diego, and my husband had a little business to do and we decided to make kind of a long weekend of it and I invited her out to lunch and the two of us just sat and talked like we've known each other like fifteen years like we have. Anyway, it was great to be together with her. She's fabulous lady. So my hat's off to my wonderful wonderful Susan. Star girl. Thank you so much for listening and being part of my red-letter family I. SO appreciate you. Will let's start talking about when she move out because there are going be some times. When you you've just do need to move and like I said as an experienced functionally consultant I think you should have some a lot more tricks up your sleeve. You ought to have some knowledge and skills to help correct a problem So you don't want to move because your house is function perfect. Because here's the newsflash. None of them are there really are no functionally pervy Tallis's every. House has to have a bathroom somewhere. Every house has to have a kitchen or a toilet or you know a laundry room garages that kind of thing we have to have those kinds of things and we can't just have a pervert house and there's no way I want to have a house that doesn't have indoor plumbing. So I will have a toilet and I will work around it. No matter what corner it's in and here's what I can tell you. You will survive almost all houses. It is true but there are few stand out in my mind. I'm going to talk about that because I do think that you can gain from this experience and having worked with so many homeowners and seeing what their lives are like what they're experiencing it is It really gives me a wide array of understanding of various homes in and knowledge about them in there. But there are some circumstances were I do think moving is a wise idea. So. Let's just diamond in when. People, come to me a lot of times for consultation. They're they're actually fearful they. They are worried because they've heard from other consultants in fact, many times. I'm I'm the second consultant someone's talk to and and I have I I do a lot of Recovery, consultations like help pulling them back from the ledge as it were from someone who's scared the living daylights out of them and told them that their life is just going to completely unravel many times. They're afraid they've been told that they need to move out of their homes and they need to do major renovation. They're afraid I'm going to tell them that you have to move out of your house or move out of here or move this wall and that kind of thing and really. Like I said, a qualified functioning consultant really tell someone their home is hopeless with regard to funkaway hopeless for their live and in fact, good. Functionally, consultants will talk to you about your life in addition to your home. So if you have a fun Schwab Consultation Number One, make sure that somebody is asking you what is your experience living in this home? Because when a consultant does that, they're trying to understand how the house is affecting you and they will look at your life and your home at the same time because they're kind of like mirror images of each other and it gives a lot of insight to know, okay. This person's looming this kind of house and this is what's happening in their lives. Now, of course, you know a lot of people like I said earlier, worry about having a toilet in their career sector, but they're thriving professionally maybe your life is I think you're really best indicator of your functional it's not necessarily your bathrooms are located so rather. Than focusing on a functional problem area of your home. Taking stock of your life is actually.

"Think about the collars that are going to change the year if it'll bloom and seem to about adding fruit trees anything that bears so that could be nuts. That could be fruits. That could be apples or citrus. Or whatever plant grows well in your in your area. We have a home in south Texas. On the Gulf coast in it we've got citrus trees everywhere lemons grapefruits and pink naval oranges. That are just divine. They taste like a if a if somebody were to put a An Angel into a an orange. That's it would taste like it's the sweetest thing so find something that bears fruit in son. Whether like I said it's a it's a A nut or a fruit of some kind. It's even flowering trees that that bears. Its when you have a home that is surrounded by trees that are giving you something like beautiful flowers or nuts or fruits it becomes more your home becomes more abundant and that's always always a good thing all right well. I hope this is inspired you to get out into the garden and to do some landscaping and just drive through some neighborhoods. Drive through your neighborhood and look around and see if you can spot the houses with the Garden Dragon. I think you're GonNa love doing that as a little experiment. "Beneficial energies in your Zodiac sign or your bedroom or your home direction wearing real gold or silver can help you and give you an energetic boost now. Let's talk about the symbols that you can wear. You don't always have to wear things that are related to function Just having like ever saying a simple gold hoop is that round. Shape is the shape of Heaven Long long type rectangular shapes or shapes of growth. You WanNa look at shapes and make sure the only thing that you really want to avoid is anything that is very pointy or at. That has any kind of point so like for instance. I had seen one woman who was wearing a starburst type of necklace and it was a diamond this center and then it had the the raise that rate at that's sprayed out but they all kind of point up at her her neck so it's really not wasn't an auspicious sign. Personally I so think of of those types of things when you're looking for jewelry that's going to be. Enhancing is not going to be hurting you so think about anything from the infinity. Look like the eight Is An sometimes called the infinity? Sign the mystic. Not a dragon. Peacock Chinese coins or eggs I know I have some of those Russian eggs Jewelry pieces that's very auspicious. But they don't say Chinese The but the egg is a very auspicious shape. So look for shapes. That are appealing to you and that And our Attractive as well because if they're attractive they usually have great punctuate. You always want to use symbols and where symbols. That are appealing to you personally. So like for instance. When I was designing jewelry for home shopping network I wanted to create jewelry that used funkaway symbols and fresh and fashionable way. So one of the most popular pieces that I created was a necklace. A feature all four celestial creatures of the Tortoise Tiger The dragon and the Phoenix and they were all in one big collar necklace and it was a huge necklace extremely colorful and It was and it was big in the thing that was amazing as it has all four of the Cardinal Directions North East south and West are represented on that so that brings the goodness of all those directions to anyone who wears it. Sold out right there on When I was doing the The presentation there on home shopping network that morning and that was very exciting to see it. 'cause it was like one of my very first pieces. I differ them. So you want to look for items that speak to elements of functionally. So maybe that's metal or water or would or fire and An earth those are the three elements. And you're going to want to look for those elements that create beneficial for you Beneficial energy for you and one of the ways you can do that is by wearing gemstones that are suited for you by your birth element now birth elements the annual elements that take place.

"Make sure you put your dress up put on. I'm wearing earrings today. As a matter of fact white White ABALONE SHELL. Eary's think they're really pretty. They have a sort of a around per lesson. I feel like I need some heaven luck and so here. I am wearing my jewelry. I wear a watch. Where rings I wear. I wear earrings every single day. So really good for You know boosting our energy and bringing positively to us now. Let's talk about necklaces? Because these are power packed I love necklaces and I love big necklaces and as a writer and speaker. It's something that I really pay close attention to in. It's so important because it is accentuating your your throat your face and your head and this is the part of you that receives recognition recognition is so important in function. Why it's the roundabout way of money. So you can wear things do things for money and that's fine but it's really important that you looked to get recognize and wearing a necklace is a great way to do that because when you are recognized that means that someone will think of you. They'll point you out. They'll say oh you know. Carol is the perfect person for this job They will say I know I wanNA talk to Carol about such and such and they'll think of you that recognition aspect is really important so we're beautiful necklaces especially when you have something important to say. You're giving a talk anything that you're are you feel like you need to kind of Raise your your notice at work. You want to get more attention. A beautiful necklace. Necklace is a gorgeous frame is like a gorgeous frame around a painting it calls attention to. What's inside the frame while complementing the the painting at the same time? So when you find that you're lacking in recognition and notice at work where a beautiful necklace to draw positive attention eh recognition One of the things that that Kinda jumps off the page for me right now is The Deborah burks. Who's on the Corona Task Force here in the United States? And she's often speaking about the virus and she's an Works with Viruses all over the world and As a specialist in this and one of the things that you cannot not miss her because she when she's on stage at the White House and and in the press room or on Press. She wears a different scarf every single day. And that scarf like a beautiful necklace calls attention to her. It says listen to what I'm saying. Pay attention to me because I'm important and I have valuable information to impart so think about that when you're wearing a necklace and you want to make an impression you want someone to notice you. It will call that attention and recognition to you and help. Kinda raise your profile as well especially important for anybody at work right now with jobs being tentative and worrisome it can be very valuable to have a beautiful piece of jewelry or necklace or scarf around your neck to bring attention to what you're saying and your authority knows talk about another aspect of functions. I am that are functional. Jewelry is that it's protective so just like we can use functional to protect our homes..

"Of the Red Lotus letter. Funkaway easy for wealth each week all cover functional topics that can help you improve your life. Sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes now. Let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Hello and welcome to this episode of five minute funkaway. Today we're talking about clocks and their effect on us you know. There's been a lot of talk in the functionality world about whether clocks represent good functionally or not and like most things in life. The definitive answer isn't a yes or no instead. The answer is it depends. It's the exception to the rule to find an instance where a funkaway answer is black and white. It really is There is no clear answer. Except there are some clear. Do's and don'ts and we're gonNA talk about those a little bit later on right now our at home with corona virus and Cova nineteen all around the world. Everybody's kind of in sympathy with one another. It's kind of Nice. You know that were having a a worldly experienced that all our humanity can have some understanding for one another in what we're going through in one of the things about this whole cove in corona virus. Thing is that we are much more aware about time than ever. I mean think about it. We're we're we're told it's going to last this long exit GonNa peak here. It's going to do this then. And there's really no clear time line and so a lot of us are quarantined or rather stay at home orders or these are times where we are very time focused in very aware of the tick tick tick of time so we thought you know if you're at home. I know that I've heard this. My parents tell me they're in their eighties. They really feel confined because they're older in. So many people are feeling so confined right now in a very time aware looking at the clock hearing the tick tick tick that like I was saying in so I thought well what better time to talk about clocks then then now so here we go. Let's talk about The funkaway of clocks and what they mean and And some Doosan dotes for that. So as far as as clocks go many times. It's whether they're good functioning or not really relates to where they're placed now when they're place right and used properly clocks really aren't a big concern in functions way but when they're not that's when trouble begins in general though clocks really aren't considered to be auspicious in functionally because it is representative of the passage of time and when clocks oversized it represents an oversized presence of time in the passing of time and it implies death that's why these oversized clocks that are so popular on design blogs and decorating stores. They actually symbolize death and being under the gun of time. My Mom Brooker hip about a year ago and sadly I know that the rehabilitation nursing home that she was in was very beautiful. Place very nicely decorated. But it just made my skin crawl obt to tell you the truth that just I all. It was a carefully decorated. It was it was clean and all that but The people who own the the nursing home were avid hunters. So as soon as you walked in the front door. There's all these magnificent animals. I'M NOT GONNA call him trophies but there are these magnificent magnificent animals all stuff though the soon as you walk in. There's this symbols of death and I so that bothered me. You walk down the hallway and you see their dining area and they have an enormous Clark so these people can't even be impeach piece as they're eating their meal and without having to stare or eat under the gaze of this enormous clock that I'm sure someone thought was really great decorating and it's just not it was seem just cruel to me when I when I saw it now. A lot of clocks are are actually. I'm going to say they're energetic beings. They're not a being a per se but they haven't energy about them and what's interesting is. There is a lot of connection to clocks. I'll give you a story of that about it. Many clocks are known to stop when someone dies and that happened in my life. My grandmother fought with her sister. My aunt who is named for over a family heirloom clock that was given to their parents and her sister my aunt retain the clock even though their mother had given it to my grandmother and so it painfully reminded my grandmother of the loss of her parents. Every time she'd visit my aunt's home. Were this clock was prominently placed. However when my grandmother died my aunt obviously was still alive but with my grandmother died. The clock stopped at the exact time of death and it never worked again. It's really interesting. How people relate to clocks and relate to two time pieces I know. Many people have written to me about clock. Stoppages when someone's died or there's been upset I know people who only can Wear mechanical watches. That electric watches don't work for them. And so they have to use mechanical ones like the Rolex that is self winding or the type that you actually have to wind. It's fascinating to me. I find absolutely fascinating. Now when we think about funkaway it really requires balance in everything so when a clock is over sized that means there's an oversized emphasis on time. So hey o'clock like these. These big decorator clocks that you see. It made me feel more pressured to do more in the day. Feel like you can't manage your life feel like time is running away from you can even make you feel physically ill just from this pressure all the time you may find that your you have A feeling of pressure all the time and on the other hand there are times when a clock actually can do some good and handle some functions as most severe energies so for instance there are two type of illness energies that we talk about in functionally in once called the five yellow and the other is called the black too and these are a strong energies and when they're together or when you're worried about their influences a chiming or pendulum clock is one of the best ways to wear down their energy that illness energy that they project with that smooth swinging back and forth of a pendulum or clear. Chime ringing out I love pendulum clocks. They are actually some of the best ways to bring movement to a house. That's two still so that makes them a really great activator. So if you've got an old grandfather clock with the pendulum or you've got a ticking clock with the pendulum. These are great for areas. That have illness energy Like the East Corner this year in twenty twenty does it's also good for activating positive energy. Like in the north the northeast corner has a terrific energy for money and income potential for making money through classes and having a a clock chiming there can activate that that energy there. So there's some really nice ways that clocks can be beneficial in function by now. If you WANNA know more about the energies of the year be sure to check out my year of the rat article on my website. You can go there by going to Red Lotus letter dot com forward slash rat and get more details as I'm going to mention some energies In these do's and don'ts that it you might WanNa look a month and see where they are and where they fall on your home because you might want to activate or hold them down so let's talk about some clock. Dues things that you should do clocks do use a pendulum or a chiming clock to activate the six star of networking and benefactors. This can bring windfalls nice financial surprises people out of the blue. That will tell you about an opportunity. Just this is what I would call. Sort of the falling star. Wish upon a falling star just falls into your lap some good news and having a chiming clock or pendulum clock. Wherever that's located that six star in in in this year in twenty twenty it's located in the southeast corner of your home. That's the wool sector. Do use a pendulum chiming clock to activate the one star of opportunity and income this year. That star is in the North East when you have problems with illness. Financial difficulties serious serious problems. Even cancer. Things like this We want to handle those energies and M. Wear them down this year. The these are called the earth stars too in five five yellow to black. I mentioned earlier this year. The five star which is the really serious one is in the east and having a pendulum clock. There will help. Drain that energy. This the East is the star. The oldest son. It's also the star of the family. So we're going to see family disruptions. You're as we have seen This year people are losing loved ones to Cova Job Difficulties or creating crises in families. You know so we really WANNA handle that five star in the East so in the east corner of your home. This is a great place to have a pendulum or chiming clock. And it's also good in the south corner of your home where the two stars that can create problems with everything from relationships to nagging illnesses and nobody needs any illness this year. We've already got one big one on our radar and that is definitely enough. Another do is to make sure that you may that. Your clock is not over size. And that you don't get one of those big giant decorator clocks. I call them because when they will dominate your room. Very important to keep those imbalance. Remember what I was talking about earlier about. We don't WanNa feel overly pressured about time. We're already time conscious enough as it is right Do Hang clocks in hallways in living rooms or in the kitchen Keep them on the smaller side. Don't hang them up too high. Because then that means that they've got a dominance over you. You WanNa have them where they're at a reasonable height not really way high up that that could really put the pressure of time on you. Do make sure that clocks next to the bed or small and not overly bright if their electric you know. Sometimes I've stayed as a guest at a hotel or friends houses in those darn lights are so bright. And you don't sleep. That means that clock is influencing your sleep. Even you can't get rest with that clock so you want to You know look at that clock that you have next to the bed and see if it's too bright and work on that. Do make sure the clocks in the bedroom. Wake you to a pleasant sound that you enjoy chimes or birds or something like that you don't WanNa have a buzzer. That just wakes you up with start that that awful grading and now if you like that and that didn't bother you but you know what I think. It's a lot more pleasant if you could have a clock that wakes you up in a pleasant way to birds chirping or something like that and he has a lot more pleasant now. Let's talk about some clock. Don'ts don't hang a clock too close to the front door where can be viewed at the front door again. This puts pressure on time in. It's also money because the front door represents money and income and opportunity coming to you and that means that you're gonNA always be pressed for money and we don't want that so make sure that you can't see a clock from the front door. Don't hang o'clock in the dining room because this implies death and rushing to eat nobody needs to be rushing as they're enjoying a holiday dinner or maybe hopefully Cova celebration dinner. Maybe you get together with your whole family and just have a big meal together to celebrate once. It's all over but you don't WanNa clock in the in the dining room so take that out of there again. Don't hang those oversize.

Purple is the color associated with any of the directions as a beneficial color. You can even say. It's the FUNKAWAY BEIGE. That's actually that's something. I coined. I've called purple a functionary base for a long time. But you know purple isn't always the easiest colored live with so if you have strong feelings about purple. It's it's probably better not to use it but if you think you're space will look strange with purple. Just maybe avoid purple but there's a lot of range when it comes to purple purple is Can Go from the PALEST lightest lavender. All the way to the deepest darkest inky hist Auber gene of a deep eggplant right This is a color that has a lot of life in it. So there's a lot of ways that you can use. It doesn't all have to be that that purple dinosaur that we all know when we think of Purple Purple doesn't have to be that grape jelly or the great bubblegum. You know purple really is a great wealth color. It is a color that goes so well with wealth and success. Both you think that they're different but there are you think that they're the same right wealth and success but they're actually very different well is actual accumulation of money and assets. Were a success is the ability to use those assets. Have you ever thought of it that way? Success is could be defined as when you can take whatever you want by whatever car you lie can afford the expensive clothes or the Nice hotels that kind of thing. That's success wealth is different than success. Isn't that interesting to think about that? That success is the manifestation of wealth whereas wealth is the accumulation of assets. I love to look at those fine points in functionally. I never had thought of them That way and always kind of lump them all into the same bucket. Sorta like money. Money was all in the same bucket. But there's different types of money to and Like for instance. There's income right salary the money you get in your check career From your salary from your job but there's also wealth that could be something maybe an inheritance it could be Your 401k your investments real estate holding stocks bonds all those kinds of things those are assets right that so there's a completely different types of money but it's still it's still a form of of wealth To have a job to have an income and to have assets but they're distinct ones. Think it's really important to understand those just like having wealth and having success also very different so when it comes to generating wealth chee so whether that's income or wealth assets or success. The obviously the you know the NICE CLOTHES FANCY CARS. That kind of thing forever. You want to have that extra energy no matter where that is purplish color but it is a stimulating color so it's not always a great idea to have purple in a bathroom or kitchen or even a bedroom you could use some Pale. Shades are little bits of purple but not too strong because remember. It is a combination of blue and red red is very stimulating. I think there's a saying it's a Chinese say Mayor Mayor Happiness Purple. You know something like that. And it means it's a blending a harmony of two distinct Two distinct elements fire and water. That's success and income. See see how that works. I love that I think that's such a great Distinction to know so. Let's talk about the wealth that purple can bring you. There is the wealth of recognition. Purple is an excellent color to add in the south sector of your home or living room office. This is the fame sector. This is the success and social Renown and sector. This is recognition sector in particular. It's really good if you're in a sort of a power position like if you're the principal or an owner of a business. Purple is definitely a power color so attitude a south wall for added. Prestige or to further your ambitions for fame Purple will help you get recognized. Just think about that Movie Stars they're hounded for their autographs because they have achieved a level of success that gives them recognition. Recognition is a great type of or a type of of success. Now purple also can help you.

"Tight and leak free is really essential especially now when there's a respiratory issue going on now the other thing you can do is to add metal to the south corner your home. Remember early on in the this podcast. I talked about the to illness star. The sickness star has moved to the south. We want to try to keep red colors away from here. We want to avoid using candles and instead we WANNA do to kind of drain to start is to add metal objects like wind chimes or pendulum clock. Or if you've got a ceiling fan just turn it on and leave it on all year long put it on super-low and just LE- let it stay on. That will be very helpful for draining. That illness energy. Because you know we want to fight this on a bunch of different fronts right the other thing we all want to do is. Here's another front. It's the east sector of health and wellness. We want to manage this now this year. The five yellow is there. But because it's there we want to do the same thing that we're doing in the south corner because both the south in the east have an earth affliction and that means adding metal colors there Or metal elements there. That could be a wind chime. It could be a big metal bowl. Anything that you can find that metallic and that you see prominently will help You can also use a wind chime. You can use the ceiling fan if you have one like I said just turn it on and leave it on super-low all year long just let it drain that energy and my favorite is a pendulum clock. That's one with the the pendulum swings back and forth. This is a really great way to drain the energy from from the five yellow. And this is in the eastern corner. Now this is your corner of health and wellness. It's also the the corner of the family so we want to keep that good and healthy and we wanNA keep that five yellow from becoming a problem now. The other thing that we want to think about is adding some other alternatives seven star remedies This is something if if it's if it appeals to you personally then I would suggest doing it The seven star is off of Pot. You know or managed with images of Dedi such as Christ. Buddha in fact there's even a a Buddha. That's just for illness called Blue Medicine Buddha. And it's very easy to find They're online. They're they're Buddha's and they're all blue like the name says you can also put your religious shrine if you have a home shrine you can put it in this in the center sector to help manage the seven star. Another old remedy was to add a prickly CACTUS plant that has thorns here So that might be something you want to do in your center sector. But you don't want to have a fleshy plant like jade plants or flowers. Really what we want. Flowers are okay as long as they're blue like a big blue hydrangea. But typically. We don't WANNA have. You don't WanNa have other things like a like a j plant or something like that. We Really WANNA had those water elements so that could be like. I said a picture of water. Blue Colors It could be images of of the seashore or lake. It could be a picture. It could be a Seashell it could be figuring of fish lot. Anything that is going to Bring that water energy if you have if you can put a a water fountain there or an aquarium there. That's also another great element to have in the center sector to hold that seven star down and and it's it's good for helping you. Maintain happy relationships health and also income because the seven stars a cutting star like job loss pink slips that kind of thing. We really want to watch for that right now. The Zodiac signs that really want to be extra watchful during this corona virus Include Rabbits roosters and horses. These are the signed are are the signs that are most prone to health concerns this year. And we want you to be a little extra vigilant as well. Of course all signs need to be a little extra vigilant this year. We all do but especially rabbits roosters and horses why They are the signs that The rabbits have the to deal with the five yellow. That's where it's in the east and rabbits or east animals roosters or west animals with the nine star. This is that fire in the lungs like I was talking about and horses have the to illness star. So they're more susceptible to the seventh star and the problems with lungs breathing and so forth. So this is what I want everyone to to really focus on those those particular science but everybody should definitely watch because we all are dealing with the the east sector. Health concerns the seven middle seven center star that we have to deal with in the two in the south to all concerns this year. Well there you have it. This is hopefully a good review for you. I hope you've enjoyed this episode of five minute functions. Way Not to scare you but to give you tips and ideas of things that you can do around your home to promote wellness to promote health to check on keep checks on income problems like you know. Make checking those faucets and so so important because We're all in the right and we we absolutely are we're all in this together and I want to make sure you are safe in. Okay in your family is to all right. Well let me wrap this up with three tips for you All right tip number one at healthful symbols around the House that is a plant in the east. I really liked three sticks of green lucky. Bamboo set in stones in a glass vase promote health. It helps to drain the five yellow and helps promote good health. So I really liked that. That's a a a terrific place to add that is in is in the in the east to counteract that five yellow. I also like flowers in the southeast. There's there's a growth aspect of the southeast and it's also about your money in your income you know. The stock market has taken absolute beating and this sector it relates to your retirement savings 401k or stock investments. So I love to see you. Add some really nice white flowers. They're white orchids something like that to protect those assets so so important number two is make sure that you have water to hold down the to hold down the seven star. That's in the sector so water can be water. Colors like blue colors. Water can be actual water like tabletop fountain. It can be a symbol like a fish or a seashell and and so so importantly check those faucets and sinks for any kind of water leaks really key number three resist fear resists fear. Keep Your House light and bright do fun. Things spend time in nature. Find things that give you joy and do them. If there's ever a time that we need to go out and just enjoy. Maybe you like the starbucks Frappuccino. So that's one of my favorite. I love MOCHA Frappuccino. And it makes me happy and you know I also like the Sonic Cherry linemates Oh my gosh love those even something as simple as that do what makes you happy. And keep that light and bright. Okay listen I hope this was helpful for you? I really enjoy you being here. And we're all in this together and we're all going to get through it together. "Sidewalk. They just go just from the curb but then they stop or there's absolutely no sidewalk or there's no path that goes to the front door and when there's no water way that home is starved or dying of thirst that pathways your waterway of income. So many times will find people that you see houses older houses that are like that and you see them just deteriorate if the house is really old this might have been fine years ago when the house was built but each year as the House ages. Anyone who lives in the house will see their finances diminish as well as health problems growing. Now how do you correct that? You've got to add a new front sidewalk and the more permanent. The sidewalk is like a poured concrete. The better it is type of walkway because it will help bring more water chee to the front door more quickly and that will mean that. Your House won't be starving anymore for energy that water flow. Remember we've got to create that now you can do some. I've seen a lot of houses recently. That are they're doing these Pathways where they have Like crushed stone or crushed granite and they have big Flagstone pavers and I will tell you that while that might look Nice architecturally it's not good functions way and the reason. Why is you want a a solid unbroken smooth path from the street or your driveway to your front door? This creates the smooth and flowing energy. So if you would imagine. The difference between a smooth will conduct water more than a broken sidewalk made of discrete. An independent pavers right. So if you're Put Water on this payers. They would just go off the sides and into the gravel or something like that so while those look really pretty in the very contemporary looking and all that good stuff. It's not good if you WANNA have more money and you want to add more income opportunities. Now let's talk about the afflicted House. Pathway now this house may have a walkway that is too small. It might be old. It can be cracked or crumbling or lifted from tree roots or something like that and that means that the quality of the Energy. That's going to the house and the opportunity and money is deteriorating to whenever a sidewalk is cracked or crumbling or broken or shifts it disrupts its ability to deliver water energy or CI to the front door cutting off income and opportunity and making the quality of opportunity and income decline over steadily over time. So we WANNA make sure that the walkway to our front door is in good condition. And that it delivers chee to our door smoothly and auspiciously. I think anyone listening to this would agree with me that when you walk up to a home and you walk on a really nice pathway to the front door there is a special feeling about that and when you see a home and you drive through neighborhood and you see homes with you know pretty winding pathways and pretty sidewalks plantings and flowers. It just is appealing and that brings that that beauty that it has beauty brings money. So when you have a beautiful home or a beautiful Sidewalk and beautiful curb. Appeal to your home even if you have a simple house if you have beautiful curb appeal and it's neat and tidy and And it's flowing and it's it looks pretty It's amazing what that can do for your life and for your home all right. Well we are here at the end of this episode as always here on my three tips always trying to make your walkways auspicious looking and attractive with plants and other landscaping elements tip number to do what you can to create smooth winding and curbing solid pathways. These delivered the most beneficial and they deliver chee the most regularly. Those broken has are not a good idea Another great tip number three is to add lighting two pathways. This encourages more Yang Energy to enter your home. It's more specials. Lighting is always auspicious. So if you want to add more Admiral Energy to your home especially if you have one of those houses where you have a sidewalk with a goes around to the side of the House and you have a side entry to your home. This is really key that you do plantings go along that sidewalk and that you add lighting that says hey ci come this way to the front door and that means hey money come this way. All right there you go. There are My suggestions for your your pathway to wealth Make sure that your your front door is a conduit for accepting money income and opportunity as well as great energy in Your Life. And I'm going to talk about that in next week's episode of five minute functionally now as always one of the things. I like to do as low as we're GONNA at a mentioned earlier. We want that spark of life so really really important that That you add some red paper to the back of your of your board. I often One of the things I did is I laminate. I'll I'll take a piece of card stock and all put red paper on the back and then laminated so it's all it's red This is a great way to activate it. Now you can also add a piece of red ribbon to it if you if you'd like to do that or you could tie or taper glues Chinese three tight coins are also really auspicious and great to add to your vision board. And don't forget you've got to be able to see where you want to go so you've got to put that vision board where you will see it often. It's really important. You can put it wherever you're going to see it a lot. It's really important that you see that That vision prominently now. Don't forget you can add visions. Excuse me can add images. You can also add words. I like doing both. I think they're both very powerful in their own way so You know rather than just having images or just words I'd say do a collection or do a assembly of both all right now if this Has hasn't gotten you excited about doing a vision board. And it's amazing. How having the two together can make such a difference. Now place this tip number two is place your vision board where you see it frequently the more you see it the more those images go into your brain and influence you and you start doing things and start attracting things and things just seem to fall into place. It's it's amazing how it happens number three is to activate your vision board with red. Make sure this got plenty of color but also that has some great red color in it I gave a tip earlier that I like to. Put My vision board and backed with a piece of paper and then you can also laminated as well. All right that's all for this week's episode and I look forward to talking to you next week on episode.

They're really light hearted Really most truly wealthy people have lots of fun and enjoyment alive mostly because they can afford it. What is it Money doesn't buy happiness but you can buy a yacht and pull up next to it. I'm a big believer in that. You know that when you're very serious or you're always looking at the negative side of life you know that energy of money isn't going to come to you. It's going to be harder. It's going to be a slog instead of joyful and When we approach life in it in a more joyful manner I think life approaches us in a more joyful manner. But that's not the only reason why I mean. Every time we have pleasant and enjoyable times in our house we build our happiness energy and this kind of Energy Creates Shane. Chee and this is called. It's SORTA like charades ton of fun. Gosh every time we break that out we laugh and laugh and have the best time You know and and try making a family meal and put it in the formal dining room on Saturday or Sunday nights as a weekly treat you know so often if you have a formal dining room it just gets ignored except for you know a couple of special holidays you know and and and you know that that really should be used. And I've found that you know can bring extra energy to yourself and lift your personal cheap. Make a list of ten things that make you happy. It's whether that's hot chocolate in the morning or cute figurine on your desk. If you see something you really love and I mean really love by it. I don't care what it costs just by it. You know it's amazing how honoring your feelings brings the most wonderful and amazing things back to you.
