Clinton-Linked Lawyer Charged for Lying in Trump-Russia Origins Probe

"John durham expected to indict clinton linked attorney involved in russia. Probe this is. Sussman may have lied to top. Fbi lawyer james baker in a meeting on september nineteenth two thousand sixteen in that meeting sussman attempted to tie the trump organization to a russian bank. Alfa bank saying that they were using a secret server to communicate michael sussman. The fbi later dismissed those allegations so did muller and they were totally bogus. How did sussman lie. Durum has discovered discrepancies between susman's congressional testimony and his september two thousand sixteen interview with baker during their discussion. Baker claimed sussman told them he wasn't working on the alpha-bank project for any specific client. This directly contradicted his two thousand seventeen sworn testimony before congress in which he said he was working for an unnamed cybersecurity expert also perkins koi internal billing records which durham has shows that sussman build the hours he spent an alphabetic probe to the hillary clinton two thousand campaign. So here's the take away. The facts seem to show that sussman was intentionally provoking the russian probe on behalf of the former presidential candidate hillary clinton and then lied to obscure it. This was five years ago. Everybody half a decade ago. She want to know what the big takeaway is here. Nothing we've known about this for four years.

Some that are as tallest three hundred feet and hundreds of thousands of years. Old two thirds of all giant sequoia groves acres already burned down and wildfires within the last five years historic drought and heat waves caused by man made climate. Change are to blame for the extreme proliferation of fires in the area. Firefighters are working hard to protect the giants by doing things like robbing them in huge fire-resistant blankets that are usually reserved for protecting buildings. Here's hoping that they're able to save the general sherman tree which fun fact is the largest city in the world by volume it will become the biggest and most vengeful tree goats if we kill it via climate change we cannot let that

U.S., Australia and UK Unveil New Security Partnership

"The biden administration's efforts to counter chinese dominance in asia and support allies in the region is gathering steam. This week the us uk and australia agreed a landmark security pact in the indo pacific. The move will see australia. Build nuclear powered submarines for the first time the pack will also cover artificial intelligence cyber and quantum technologies. So what does all this mean for australia. Monaco's contributor in canberra ardebili. Gary sent us. This report the news that ustralia is going to be getting nuclear-powered submarines came out of the blue five years ago. We signed an agreement with the french to provide us with diesel-powered submarines. It has since become clear that these technology would not be adequate to meet security challenges. Plus they wouldn't be delivered for almost twenty years at the same time. Need security partnership between australia. The us and uk was announced called aucas. All of this is pretty big knees. Even if you're not someone to spend a lot of time thinking about submarines the full details haven't yet been announced but it is clear that it's all about sending a strong message to china. Tensions between australia and china has been increasing over the past few years so this deal is all about australia. Proving to beijing that it has big and powerful allies that it can rely on but it will get australia. Offside with other friends new zealand and pacific countries are avowedly anti nuclear. Oh new zealand has already said it won't allow the subs in its waters. Australia is a signatory to the nuclear nonproliferation treaty. So we can expect that e inspectors will be doorsteps wanting access and china has put out a statement. Saying it's irresponsible big questions now. Are this tacitly. What lawmakers heard yesterday was the continued frustration of survivors. Who felt that their allegations against larry nassar had not been taken seriously enough. They had been calling for change in calling for accountability for the failures of usa gymnastics of the us olympic and paralympic committee and of the fbi former olympic gymnast michaela maroney in her testimony directly. "Sean hannity during his monologue last night talked about milly either being he should be absolutely fired and tried for treason. If of course the account of bob woodward and bob costas book is correct. Accusations of treason are now swirling around the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff. That would be general mark milley. According to an explosive upcoming book from bob woodward millions accused of conspiring behind the scenes with communist chinese to undermine president trump in the fall of twenty twenty as the washington post details quote in the books account. Millie went so far as to pledge that he would alert his counterpart in the event of the us attack is counterpart being in china. The communist chinese. The book claims that millie had his chinese counterpart quote. Generally you and i have known each other for five years now. And if we're going to attack. I wanna call you ahead of time. It's not going to be a surprise. Okay so what they can attack us. I if this is true general milley would be traded to this country if true he should be fired and tried portrays an immediately given america's enemies heads up before an attack. Well that's the worst possible offense that are member of our military ever commit and there's more according to the same upcoming book and that is the general milley also conspired behind the scenes to neuter the commander in chiefs ability taken duct his constitutional role as commander in chief and conduct military operations. Now this this shouldn't be a right left talking point. I should be able to say to every democrat listening to the show every trumpeter if the chair of the joint chiefs was giving our enemies a heads up in the event of an attack. How is that not treason.

Becoming Technology Forward and Data Reliant in Marketing with Roku's Sweta Patel

"How do you think about driving. Growth within marketing. And what do you feel like has changed over the years And the businesses that you've worked in can i. It's a really really complicated place to be right now to be a marketa it not only. Do you need the traditional side of marketing. But you really need to be technology forward and data the line. I think i think of them in three buckets like the way i look at these. Three levers are just kind of poke into a minute. And i looked at them in every job that i've had but it's just gotten much worse. Not only is is in enough growth to be had but you'll losing resource is having to just become more and more efficient and those three things i tend to focus on. Everything is moving so foster and humans can't keep up with it. I mean you need to be able to mock it and deliver personalized experiences at i. Cool at the speed over tick-tock swipe if you get to the consumer that quickly especially five years from now the relevance of you being around is just is just going to get northern and then with talking about like things like ticked off. The media. Landscape is so fragmented right. Keep her on instagram. In their own take talkin will watching. Tv they're watching multiple devices. And so you warm often channels than we've ever had before people are all over the place and they need to get to them quick us. So that's a challenge at roku the way we're trying to handle these things is we've really started to invest into a crm. And so all go. But before i got here we have channels. You know what they call multichannel marketing. We did that. Everyone's trying to do that and everyone's trying to do on me channel marketing but the way we're focusing about is really trying to now and get the power about platform out and one of my roles here at here. At roku is becoming hyper focused on really building tools automations so that the marches can actually be feeding the systems and and making the systems v. The brains of what we do is all this manual curation and execution that needs to happen.

"Oh, my gosh. Well, you know, Listen, I got 15 year old 2 12 year old, So I don't know that they're preparing it all. They just they live the good life. You know, they just they are in the seat of blessing. John Stacy. I 69 other hand. We still have some work to do. I'll be honest. We're a little bit. You know where those Those threes. If you're any Graham, you know the high eyes if your disk person, um and and so we get a lot of work to do a little bit of work to do so this morning, but it's the effort. It's a song like come in under the wire, So I've got a five year old in a in a anomalous five year old in a 10 year old and Get ready for the last day of school today. Mind to know And my son told my daughter Hey, this is it. Then comes Christmas break to which he replied Like the last few months, right where we've been at home and at school at home, and I got me thinking Christmas breaks gonna look totally different for these For millions of kids across the country. It's gonna look just like last week and the week before and the week before. We've been blessed, You know, certainly in our neck of the woods for our kids to go to school, it's It's tragic when you see the loneliness that this is not a It is not a comment on your state governor or whatever political affiliation you draw from. The fact of the matter is, is that the isolation and the shutdowns and the quarantines whether you again believe they should have happened or not. It has been devastating on our kids, Children because we're all relational, but they don't have the maturity. They don't have. Ah lot of the tools that adults have, and it's been tough on adults. I mean, he's going to say they don't have access to the Devices that medicine that we adults content to rely on. So it's It's been tough, but I'm hoping that 2021 is is going to be a much better year. For goodness sakes, just just relation Lee. The world just needs toe, take a deep breath and literally and figuratively right and start healing. All right, Let's go to Cameron in Columbia, South Carolina. Cameron, how are we doing? It is me. I'm sorry, Cameron. I'll go to this cameras. We got two kids got two cameras on this. See what you did there. Cameron from Columbia, South Carolina. Yeah, That's me. Okay, That's you. Sorry, Cameron. Go for it. Yeah. So I'm just kind of storm between two career passing away. One of them is more of something with my art. The other one is more Logical, But I could also have AH, connection to sow. The first plan is to eventually become Like an outdoor recreation planner, for or or in O H V, which stands for off highway vehicle program supervisor for like a federal agency, and then And or would be like an outdoor tour guide year round, but All the stuff start seasonally, which I have not quite gotten to get in there. It could be five years before I find a more permanent role, OK, and it's just gonna be A lot of these jobs, you know, they're lower paying is seasonal. They don't really have any benefits than the other route would be to go to do some schooling for industrial mechanical maintenance, and then I would build into a maintenance role for Park or force. I could do that route. Interesting. More stable one. Yeah, that's that's what you were referring to. Oh, as the combo where you're you've got a little bit better pay. Better, Panya, but you get ability. Yeah, but you're in proximity, that park and your kind around all that fun outdoor stuff. Right. So I would do the schooling here in South Carolina, and I'm already about to pull the trigger on me. I've got half the money about to pay as I go, and I'm gonna move to the mountain west get involved, You know, volunteer for a year. I would do a regular job with the schooling right for a year and a half to two years And then after that two years, I'm gonna find a temporary role and then I'll just do that. And then I'll wait. So a prominent role comes up. I was just kind of wanting. Your opinions for is like, Does that sound like a better idea? Other than all the seasonal stuff, Which is just gonna be a roller coaster? Because it is? Yeah, I I think that it is a good idea because you can hear the confidence in that plan. I think you've fought this thing out Really? Well, In fact, a lot of people that call I've been on Penn month. I mean, I used to. I used to live in, uh, North West Wyoming and Asia. Yeah, No, because it let me tell you something. It's a good plan. I want you to do it. I just want to add one encouragement. I think you work your tail off. You get that industrial mechanical maintenance job and I'm gonna come back around in a second. But I want you to work your tail off on that, and put the money away and save save. Save. So you get to a point where you can make that full time jump into that work and you've got a buffer and you get your lifestyle to a point where you can see a path forward where you can get in and then climb up. But financially you've prepared for this. And the only thing I would say to you is I would double triple check. Whether not you need to go to school to get into industrial, You know that mechanical if it is engineering, Yes, you will. But if it's maintenance work, I would just double check that and see if there's trade schools and things for that kind of work, because you might be surprised for a guy who likes that mechanical side of things. The trades can pay very, very well. And you get trained so much faster, So I would just encourage you to a little bit more research because you seem like you've done a lot of research. That's right. And Yeah, a lot. So, Cameron, what is it about the outdoors that you love? What is a more I've always liked their pikes and I've yet to have my own vehicle. I just I love dirt, biking and hiking. Just Iike 200 miles out in Yellowstone Grand Teton parks all that it's just Have an idea for you and then building maintaining fixing things out in that world. That's that's what I care about. You know what I would do if I'm dude, Listen to me. I want you to really go do some more homework on just mechanical work. You make really good money. You know, Mechanic and you like fixing things anyway. And I think you might do a little combination of this dream. We've been talking about this plan where maybe eventually you own your own. Vehicles and thinks like you do anything, I'd have my own off road. God business. Well, you're going to have to have my own. Listen to me. Hold on my own tour guide. Hey, camera you're going to you're going to take this plan. And that's what you're going to go. Do you going to get out there and learn the area? jet blue get his name on the no fly list I mean that guy's basically it is good as a terrorist in my mind red flagged well let's say he is going through covert nineteen right now as we speak so while he's getting his hopefully he'll just have to service yes Brian this concert Brian what's happening brother the young guys trying good I'm a I'm a New York City teacher and I was lucky in that restaurant and get the name of the little scene that they ended up shutting down the schools I I understand the the the child care issues and the food issues I know a lot of student this time the only time sometimes they get meals but over the summer they actually have school that a designated just for meals that self and they can come and grab and go and I have fifteen hundred students they teach in high school and as you know teenagers aren't the most hygienic student that that is our building is like basically a giant Petri dish and attendance right now and yesterday was just a weird sense in the building it was like a lot of tension between teachers students and they're also very affectionate you know they come in they want to hide while I fight it phone yeah so you know I've instituted the foot have now with the elbow but you know they they really have this you know you think that that they're not letting people like five hundred people gathered now we have fifteen hundred people in that giant featured seeds kids that they're invincible and they aren't going to use the same practices that maybe the informed adult well I mean I've got a lot of friends everyone of my friends that lives on Long Island it works for the government and in one way shape or form right like the the work at the county there a cop or they're a teacher so I know a lot of teachers and the teachers that I know are always sick they're always sick because they're in school so school and mass transportation we're still just jamming people in there and let them spread out all what you said you just heard from that the previous caller who is a teacher basically classifies as are down by sixty percent and then there's Sen attendees six seven cents forty four down yeah but also the the ridership on the subways are down twenty percent twenty nine point two percent thought enough twenty percent again but there are people that have to go to work like we are going to work come to work I mean there are other people just like us that have to go out get up in the morning I know work I know you know and they need to keep their business is open I mean this is just having a profound effect on everybody all of us right but I mean there's not a single person it's not inconvenience in some way and I understand that there isn't a perfect system but what is the goal right the goal is to stop the rain to contain the pandemic right so if that's the goal then we all have to figure it out we all have to put ourselves out to achieve that goal Dr Bobby in Bridgewater Bobby what's happening Hey guys good morning Britain all the conversation on it you update update you guys that some Jersey school districts have starting to close I live in Bridgewater and we got a message yesterday that were closed through March twenty seventh right now with more to come right and I and I think that's going to continue around the country you know I didn't Maryland close their schools for three weeks now I don't know how they're gonna make up those days I don't know if they're gonna do it virtually with the kids you know online or any of that stuff I know that's what department is doing this kind of told me that yesterday they're going to virtual classes for the spring semester allows him to stay involved in everything else just can't be interacting with people so I mean everybody's going to feel differently about this we understand that and there are a lot of people that you know can't just stay home with their kids and that's that's the hard thing for the mayor I I understand it's not an easy call I'm not saying that it is yeah but none of this has been and and that's why I keep going back to that I mean it wasn't an easy call I know it's two different things but it wasn't an easy call for the natural history museum to shut down your event I mean it was an easy call for you know the think about all the money in the people in the the workers in the stadiums and all the stuff that's going on I mean that these are not easy call us seven love did a really nice thing thousand dollars yeah hello it's all let's see we'll do that as part of this update yes he and we brought you by sport clips cut the weight download the sport clips hair cut app and check and see yes he donates a hundred thousand dollars to the workers in Cleveland I work at the arena there where the Cavaliers play to cover those that are the hourly workers the vendors the employees that are obviously being put out of what I said I see to me that's a god gets it yes and I hope in you know in most the basketball players do get it you know they are woke yeah they should all be awoke awoke and I should say and do the same thing if they can to a certain point cannot authorize or you know not all not all the guys are a hundred twenty five million dollar contracts but you know sort of I think that was a great thing that Kevin love did I applaud him wholeheartedly play a little couple things here sure sure go so obviously the conference championships college basketball I started dropping like flies yesterday right around eleven thirty is which is inside a half hour the opening tip for the games that were scheduled not the case at the garden though we're St John's and Creighton actually played the first half before the big east finally called off their tournament here was the Johnnies radio broadcast leading up to opening ten it's time now for our Ridgewood savings bank keys to the game and Brandon Tierney along with those I mean I gotta be honest with you make I don't even really know what I'm gonna waste my time give me these things would not get a plate there's no way this game is going to be played it's a tired and he turned out to be correct good job on Britain's date yeah the basketball they were learning in real time of the other conferences calling off their tournament I cannot believe this things be in place and I have a serious question what is the endgame here there's not gonna be that you doubly told about how the world can you have.

"Now, our exclusive conversation with retiring bond king Bill Gross gross disgust, having Asperger's in his conversation with Bloomberg's Erik Schatzer. For better for worse, Bill, we've all read and heard things about your personal life were you able to compartmentalize all of that? Or did it distract me? I think so. But you know, you never know. I mean, my personality. And to get personal an aspirin and asked burgers can compartmentalize they can operate. In different universes. The other universes affecting them as much, and so yeah, I had a nasty divorce and still. Feelings about. But I think he did pretty well. In compartmentalized not that. I didn't wake up in the middle. And starting damning one side of the other. But when I can do work, it was all business and. I don't think it affected me that much. But you know, it's hard to know. I didn't know you burgers. Is that what you meant in February two thousand sixteen in one of your outlooks, you wrote about Michael Lewis's book and the movie it's fond the big short. You said that you shared an attribute or an affliction. I think is one of the heroes. If you will that book Michael bird, Dr Michael berry, and it wasn't his glass. I exactly so I read that book. And Lewis is a great writer, and he he within that chapter about Mike. He listed ten things that aspect is have that Michael had as well. And I read them to go and some of them were not being able to look somebody in the eye, which I'm not doing very well at the moment. Singular hobbies like stamp collecting them cetera. It's under I go. That's me. I go. And so I took the book out to my ex wife. I said. Reap this. And she read it, and I think that s burgers, and she said you do not you do. But she said, you do I said, how would you know that said, well, you know, when we were having dinner with Bill Gates and Melinda. And that was like five years before at a Duke reunion fundraiser is home to said we were sitting at the table. And I looked at gates and looked at you. You said you were going exactly the same thing at the same time mannerisms were all the same. And so I had heard that here. That's burgers, mild form. So I went to psychologists and it said here's ass burgers. So I said went into tell me as you said. Because I thought it might hurt your feelings. Notice about yourself. Yeah. But it explained a lot not not that. I'm sort of proud of it. I wouldn't be telling you. I'm proud of it because it explains a lot about me not that all aspects are not geniuses. Some in the intelligence thing is not necessarily a big part of it. But. My personal behavior and ability to relate to people in my singular harvesting collecting this and this and this and this. Yeah. Hey. So maybe I do. And so I did go to a psychiatrist and the first meeting at the end of it is just too. I said. Asper? And she said, oh, yeah. There is. A line of thinking that says people with that condition do better as investors. You think that's true? I think so. Well because it will. I've understood it. In my experience. It's allowed me to stay at thirty thousand feet as opposed to be on the ground. Basically the conditions wondering which I'm sorta here and. Other people will know come into a room, and they say Bill, I'll go I'm off here. And so that's not necessarily good in terms of wonder one people think here angry or a hole or whatever. But it helps you to focus on longer term things without getting mixed up on the details. And so I think it. Yeah. I think it was very important because it allowed me to take what we call. The secular pro chip in federal long-term view. And it was it was a good view. The take us an burger now if if I was a quantitative trader hedge fund manager day to day minute to minute, boom. Not so good interesting. Do you think it helped you identify patterns better? Probably. But I never thought about it in those terms, but probably from the standpoint of again of thirty thousand feet. Yeah. Yeah. Because it allows me to just forget about the minutia and to focus on one thing, whatever it is at the moment as opposed to five different things. Now, I'm going to get a little metal on you. If I may second order if you like. Okay. Do you think finding that out recognizing it and perhaps coming to terms with it on a personal level help to her? I think it helped personally. Explained a lot because you know, I'm introverted basically, I'm pretty good here. But. I've always had problems going up to somebody. Say hello. I expect him to say Hello to me because I'm a wheel because and Aspar so it explained a lot. And and you know, like, you say it. It's a mild. And condition autism right on the border. It's nothing to be ashamed of like I said, I'm proud of it because it explained why. In in part why I was who I was. Not gonna gate. Upbringing my family background and how I came out of the other. We all come with a personnel as you know, you've got to betcha their different, right? They certainly are. So there's all of that. But I think it helped a lot. Relieve a burden for me. It's not necessarily my fault. I'm trying but I just can't compete with the extroverts. Like, it would be nice to be able to do that was Bill Gross who reigned for decades as the bond king at Pacific investment management. And now is retiring more than four.

"Yep. And previously about five years before this coq had allowed up to fifty percent of the beverage sweetener to be high fructose corn syrup, and then when it came back. It was allowed to be one hundred percent. And so it was there's some there's some debate over when they specifically allowed this. To happen. Whether it happened a few months before new Coker at happened. Right. When it came back. But certainly when it came back they were fully embracing high fructose corn syrup as one hundred percent of this weakening element of coke. And obviously they've gone back to try to market the cane sugar in coke that's been a swingback against high fructose corn syrup in recent years. But at the time, high fructose corn syrup was a much cheaper alternative to Kane sugar and they wanted to save costs. So this happened right around the same time that they brought coke classic back. So people were saying this was a cover for them to be able to make that choice. I'm not endorsing that part of the part of the conspiracy. It's just one additional element. And then a third element that has been written about by historians and endorsed by others of high like time magazine is written about this high times magazine. So two times magazine is what's written about it. They've used it as cover alternately to replace the ingredient that was the coca leave. They didn't have cocaine in the drink, but they use some of the same coca plant in the eighties, of course, cocaine major problem. So they didn't want any association with that. So the us this opportunity as cover to replace some ingredients sourcing like that as well. So that's one of the other suggestions that's made about this. The biggest one though is that it was a fail on purpose to make specifically Pepsi tasting beverage seem unappealing to the audience of United States beverage drinkers and kill it for forever for once and forever. And that's what they did. So basically these two stories that we're talking about are very similar where new coke is like the Michael Jordan playing baseball of soda. Yeah. I mean, it's original coke suspended for gambling Antonio in the in the beverage worse. Yeah. We're gonna win this taste. No. Let's throw it. We're just this time. Everybody thinks we're going to win. Yeah. That's probably what happened for sure. Brigitta coke and a Torius gambler. Original coke is a reason. Why a lot of people gamble as it turns out about them. So yeah, you're right. And it's the same time period. Right. It's like the eighty to ninety five it's that same decade where the internet is just about to come into being. But we're right at the edge of that in. And so who knows what people were willing to believe back. We certainly were willing to believe it. I don't know. I don't know if there's anything else about this want to get into. But I think we've pretty much covered. Okay. Key. What are your thoughts on this? So you want me to give it a grade. I'd say I just I'm very skeptical of anybody coming up with such a cynical internet style scheme. Let me wickedly say to counter to you the biggest marketer in the world at they had come up with the most successful marketing campaigns in the world at that time, courtesy. Don because of Don Draper mean Joe Greene weighing in because of this because of this this blunder, if it's viewed that way is used as an example that anybody can screw up. Anybody can make a mistake. But coke was clearly very sophisticated when it came to marketing more so than most corporations in the entire world. I mean, cokes whole thing is marketing, they're taking what is alternately just a can of sugar water, and because they've marketed in the way that they have a made it most successful product in the world. They know what they're doing with marketing, but it died. So I'm on their estimating coke. You push me up to a four. I was on board. I I really was. I was probably at about a six or seven I felt like that. This was good. But I have some questions still about this in terms of not being number one. Would that be the ultimate worst case scenario for Coca Cola where where did not work?.

"Over the moon um he explained it as the best day of his life is really special it's astounding to me that she found the dress that her father had kind of put up in it that he had found five years before she even got married what was steve's reaction to her walking out in that exact dress i mean he was lowered he was shocked and he told me that he it's kind of surreal right when you're in the moment you don't really know how how you're feeling that how you reacted but after he had time to really reflect about it he just he said it was the best day of his life that he just grabbed her and didn't want to let her go that he was so thankful because it was so thoughtful and so loving what she was able to do for him i don't think we can overstate the coincidence of her finding the dress it wasn't as though she remembered that he had pointed it out and held onto that photograph and that five years later when she was on the verge of getting married ordered the dress from the site that he had founded on no it was like it fell into her lap and so i'm certain that what he saw he was just blown away but then to hear how it actually all materialize must have been so special for this family did she end up wearing the dress for the rest of the reception no she did not i mean as i explained it i probably give a poor description but this thing is heavy it was probably six layers deep she stayed in it for a couple of songs enough time to get everyone back out on the dance floor she took some pictures with people sadly though mike wanted to be able to get a picture with her in the dress and he didn't because she they couldn't find each other in time for that to happen so after a couple of songs and everyone was on the dance floor she slipped away and put her wedding dress back on.
