How Does Facing Death Change Your Life?
"I recently had a near death experience. And if i died it would have been not funny exactly no but at least like no henry short story because i almost got killed in a traffic accident while driving back from getting my second covid vaccine shot. Oh that would've been a great short story right. I would have been willing to die for that story. But i didn't last start it so we have this. Lean version of the story in which the protagonist doesn't even die. But anyway i got my vaccine early in the morning on a sunday morning in queens which was about a thirty five forty minute drive from where i live and i'm driving back and i'm on the cross bronx expressway which is usually a highway. That travels at about half a mile an hour. It's just always jammed up okay. But on a sunday morning it was flying. Everybody's going you know. Not crazy fastball. Fifty five sixty like highway speeds highway speed and then all the sudden in the middle lane of this three lane highway under an overpass or would that be under an underpass. Under an underpass was a tractor trailer parked in the center lane at a full. Stop wow so. I slam on the brakes and i'm waiting to either fish tale and get killed or to hit him or hit on behind and none of those bad things happened anyway. Here's my point. I didn't die plainly but it was the closest. I've come to death in a long time. Maybe ever and. I expected to have some kind of emotional reckoning reassessment. I was grateful for sure. Don't get me wrong. But i did not have one of those hollywood moments like i am going to live my every day as if it's had less so here's my question for you today. Am i. broken is something wrong with me. Are you missing a chip. Or maybe this means. I've got a mature view of death. And that maybe even ready to

Tiger Woods Faces An Uncertain Future
"Also brennan. It's currently a little bit before eight pm eastern on tuesday night and we need to say obviously that this story is still developing but as of now. What do we know about the car accident involving tiger woods. Well at this point based on the press conference held by the los angeles sheriff's department and various reporting tiger woods was driving at what was potentially too high speed around a area in los angeles county. That had a pretty severe bend in the road. The vehicle travel several hundred feet from the center. Divider at the intersection and rested on the west side of the road. In the brush is seven fifteen in the morning. Local time in la reissued ended up on. Its sire and there's a picture of the car holy cow and needed to be pried from. The viewpoint was removed by paramedics wielding axes to which is to use for prying and we also use an to pry him from the vehicle he was taken from the coat with see a caller backboard for Spinal precautions was responsive at the time of standard and resume wait. He was removed from the scene on a backboard rushed to nearby hospital and a trauma center. As of now no evidence of any impairment. There was no evidence of impairment so subsequent to that we're not gonna make any There was no effort to draw blood for example at the hospital so as of now it seems like a really bad accident. What do we know about. Tiger woods is health at the moment. Will he was brought to the hospital. Underwent surgery mark steinberg agents said there's multiple leg injuries. It has been said that there are potential fractures in his legs. But the big thing that was kind of noteworthy coming out of that press conference was. Everyone's saying he's lucky to get out of his life. He was wearing a seat belt. But it's bad and it could have been a whole lot worse when we first heard this news and didn't know really any details and just saw the photos of the car. I think a lot of us flashed back to just over a year ago with kobe. Bryant's helicopter accident also. La did you also have that immediate reaction i did. It was eerily similar. Do you remember where you were when you heard about kobe bryant. I think everyone will remember today. This was kind of one of those moments so it was only about fifty five sixty miles or so from where kobe's helicopter crash was so definitely. I had that kind of haunting feeling. I think a lot of people did. How has the gulf world reacted to this new. So far fellow players golf officials the best way i could describe. It is a lot of people holding their breath not only for his health. But for what happened. I mean i'm sick to my stomach hurts to see one ear seven now. My closest friends know getting an accident. And i just hope he's all right just is weird. I kids you know ensure the struggle. It's been a journey with tiger woods and a lot of people have kind of come to a level of cognitive dissonance of balancing the man and the myth and the realities of the scandals that he's been involved with and the amazing greatness and today seeing kind of the juxtaposition between this and his crash in two thousand nine tigers wife of five years zealand nordgren told police she heard the crash and used a golf club to break the rear window and pull him out of the locked vehicle. Young raveling of this public persona. That was very much kind of construct when it comes tiger woods. This perfect person was perfect.

That you've earned the most notable programs if you're interested in hearing more about that which i have to assume you are stay tuned and you are going to hear every single bit. Stay with us. Who am i. Why am i still here. How can i uncover you. I was meant to be during my own transition from the. Us army the wounds of war especially those not visible continued to play. I walked through the pain of job loss of ptsd diagnosis often crippling anxiety by finally discovered the reason. I'm here to earth. And i knew i couldn't keep it to myself. So i wrote a book simply titled resolve resolve is a book that is apologetically faith-based a step by step guide designed for maximum effectiveness in the context of a small group of other veterans resolve provides veterans everywhere with the tool to help you step into your new life a life full hope purpose and vision for the future to pick up your copy of resolve head over to courage to fight again dot com. That's courage to fight again dot com so today's question surrounds the post nine eleven. Gi bill as no doubt. You've figured out by now and specifically how you use it but the truth is if that was the only question i answered on today's show who would be a very short episode now using the post nine eleven. Gi bill is really really easy now. Of course. I want you to listen to this entire episode and if you do i have a special gift just for you toward the end of the episode. But i'll tell you right upfront. Using the post nine eleven she i bill is probably the easiest thing you will ever do when it comes to taking advantage of the benefits you've earned through your military service now before we dive in. I want to share some of my method with you kind of how we came to put this episode together posted a question on the courage to fight again facebook page. I shared that question on several veteran focused facebook groups and we got more engagement with this single question than with anything we've ever posted and the question was just this is what has been your experience with a post. Nine eleven jabil. We got over eleven hundred comments and i've read almost every single one of them and around ninety nine percent of those responses. Give or take. They were very positive in nature. Talking about how easy it was to us how it was the best benefit you can take advantage of and how to get the most out of the post nine eleven gi bill and not only did those who responded answer that question but they answered so many more as well man here. I am rolling right into the episode. And i haven't even introduced myself yet so if you were here for the first time you may be like. Who is this guy. Talking about. The post nine eleven. Gi bill well. My name is aaron perkins. I'm us army. Combat veteran husband to a beautiful wife. Daddy to amazing kiddos. I'm the author of resolve a step by step guide. That takes you the veteran through the journey of rediscovering purpose. Meaning and passion in your life after you've left the military and as you've probably already guessed on the host of this podcast so let's dive right in at the top of the show. I promise you three things. Let's tackle the first one. How do i use my post nine. Eleven gi bill. Now i'm going to assume you're already eligible for the gi bill. So i'm not going to dive into that part. But i will post a link in the show notes about your eligibility and how you can determine your eligibility in case you need to dig into that a bit more but step one is apply for the benefits on the va website. And guess what. I'll post that link in the show notes as well. You need a few things when you apply. Here's what you need your social security number your military history and that just basic military history. You don't need your full your your details of where you're stationed in when you were stationed there and all of that. He just need basically the years you serve and the date service egypt education history of the schools. You've attended other degrees. You hold things like that and finally basic information about the school or trading facility that you want to attend because you don't have to attend just a traditional community college or university or state scored like that. You can attend a variety of training facilities. Let's say you wanted to become an h vac technician. There are schools or training facilities that you can learn how to do that if you want to become a cybersecurity expert while their schools training facilities we can do that so again just some basic information about the school or the training facility that you want to attend now. You can do this by mail. Apply by mail using the va form or obviously the most preferred way is to apply online. That's going to be the fastest takes about thirty days or so for the va to verify eligibility. And that's it for step one. Step two you're just going to reach out to the school. the understanding. here's that you've already been accepted or you're well on your way to being accepted to the school. So you contact the school and request to speak to the va rep and these are your best friends in the post nine eleven gi bill business. Now i know i've heard some mixed reviews about. Va reps But they do know the school and they know the va. So they're going to be able to share some things with you. Some indepth information that you're not gonna be able to find him the va website. You're not gonna find on the school's website you're going to have to talk to them directly and step three. Follow the directions of your. Va school rep number. Four step four. Get your education. It's really that easy now. Look with nearly all things. Va there are multiple paths to get to the same destination but those steps has share with you apply online. Contact the school link with your. Va rep. That really is the simplest and most direct route to taking. Hold of your post nine eleven. Gi bill benefits. So if i would have had just a single question for this episode. We'd already be done. But i promise you i would share with you and the next is really important and that is how to maximize your post nine eleven. Gi bill benefits now. There are a bunch of ways to do this. And i'll mention those in passing and you can do your own homework and figure out if those are something you want or need to explore. But i want to focus on just two ways to maximize your benefit so your options. As far as maximizing your benefit goes find a yellow ribbon. School is one option tuition assistance. Top up that's another program that the va has. You may be eligible for you may need to look into There's also the option of a stem scholarship science technology engineering or math. If you're majoring in any of those categories you may be eligible for scholarship. Veteran education courses aka vet tech also tutorial assistance if you're struggling with biology or chemistry or calculus or whatever may be and you need a tutor to get tutorial assistance with the. Va actually pay you to go to a tutor. She can pass that course now here the two i want to talk about all the ones i just mentioned are in this section of the website that talks about the posting. I love jabil bill. But all the ones i mentioned in this section are in a section called additional information very simple and one of those is finding yo a yellow ribbon school. Excuse me and the second is not mentioned in that additional information but it is getting that monthly housing allowance and again. I'm going to dive into that but let's talk about the yellow ribbons school here for just a minute. So the yellow ribbon program can help you pay for hire out of state private school or graduate school tuition. That the post nine eleven. Gi bill does not cover so tuition might be higher than what the gi bill will cover or you want to attend a school as a nonresident student. Non resident of that state in other words. Another thing this is more of a side note. Not yellow ribbon schools specific. Your state may also provide additional benefits for you as a veteran. And that is something you should look into with your state. Truth be told your. Va rep at your chosen. School should be able to answer that question for you or at the very least be able to point you in the right direction. All right so that is the yellow ribbon school piece. I wanted to talk about and the other piece. That's not listed in additional information. section is section one. Oh seven sounds very boring but it's very very important. And that is the location based housing allowance the location based housing allowance. Now you will get a housing allowance for using the post nine eleven gi bill and if you attend all online classes this rate that it is set at is half the national average of an e five with dependence for their basic allowance for housing. So that doesn't change unless the national average changes. I know when i was taking a few online courses. It was eight hundred dollars a month. I don't remember the exact number but we're the location based housing allowance. Really comes into play is when you were attending in person classes. Now i want to set the record straight here then. There's this common misconception that your housing allowance rate is based on where you live. This is not the case. Your housing allowance is based on the zip code of where you're attending classes. I'm going to say that again. Your housing allowance is based on the zip code of where you are attending classes. Let me just share a little story from my own experience. I decided to take some undergraduate courses my undergraduate degree before went into the army. But i wanted to just take advantage of the post nine. Eleven she i built a little bit wasn't ready to work on my master's degree or anything so i was like you know what. Maybe i'll just take some courses. I know i have to take at least one of those in person. So i can get that in person Housing allowance right that location based housing loans. Well right up. The road from probably ten minutes or less away was a campus of the school. I was wanting to attend. They had multiple campuses all over the city and the housing allowance. Right there was. I don't know eight nine hundred dollars. Something like that. But if i would drive an extra seven or eight minutes i could get the location. Based housing allowance ended up being like eleven. Eleven sixty seven. Ninety i don't remember now. It's been a few years but i was like. Hey i will totally drive a few extra minutes to get the extra couple hundred dollars or so a month because to three hundred dollars a month because that just makes more sense because i want to get the same education and going to get the same course the same credit for the course. Why not just drive a few extra minutes so again. The housing allowance is based on the zip code of where you were attending classes. And i just mentioned this but keep in mind. You only need to attend a single class in person. that's it you can take the rest of your classes online and still collect the housing allowance based on the zip code of where you attending that one class. Now let's talk about kovic for a minute though we're we're still in the midst of this pandemic. I don't wanna say the middle. Hopefully we're nearing the end of it. But cova has missed a lot of things up our way of life our jobs our relationships a lot of things and it has changed the way a lot of schools do business and that is i'll say inadvertently affecting those of us trying to use the post nine eleven. Gi bill and some schools. They're not even holding in person. Classes yet and and veterans are facing this never before seen challenge and in fact. This was one of the concerns. someone maybe more than one person brought up when i ask about experiences with the post nine eleven. Gi bill. so. I just mentioned that you get paid at half the national average of an e five with dependence if you attend school all align. Let's say that's eight hundred dollars but if you attend at least one class in person you'll receive your housing allowance based on zip code of the school year attending so again when i attended in person. Who's eleven dollars a month so it made sense to at least attend one school. Excuse me or one class in person and this is where co vid really comes into play some schools. Excuse me some schools or universities that were previously holding in person. Classes do not even have the option to register for in person classes. Now which means that. If he veteran was attending in person in receiving that in-person housing allowance rate that housing allowance rate has suddenly changed to the online rate. And i've done a good bit of research into this. I have not found anything in my research for my conversations with veterans or anything social media no way to really get around this so to speak. So if you found a way to continue receiving the in-person housing allowance rate while attending only online due to covid. I would love if you would share that with us by reaching out to me at podcast at courage to fight again dot com. So i can send it out to the rest of our listeners. Finally and i'm really running low on time here but i promise three things at the top of the show how to use your gi bill. We cover that outta to maximize your gi bill. We cover that and now how to combine your gi bill benefits with another benefit. You may or may not have heard of and that benefit is vocational rehabilitation or volk rehab as it's often called now technically its known as veteran readiness and employment or vr and e but no one actually calls it that or at least not yet. It just hasn't a katelyn voc rehab. Though in fact is probably a better benefit than the post nine eleven. Gi bill pays for literally everything. You need special equipment for your degree. Plan pays for that. You have to pay for parking at your school. Pays for that. You'd pay for books pays for that pays for pretty much everything and just about anything you do that has to do with getting your education and i'm saying this because i want to reiterate it vo korea will pay for that and so it does seem at least initially to be a better benefit than the post nine eleven gi bill. But here's where you can. Combine them nate. Because you can't use them both at once you can use either one or the other because if you use vocal rehab or any it will cut into the total time you can use your gi bill. So here's the hack if you will if you use all thirty days of your post nine eleven gi bill and then apply for your vote rehab benefit. Frankly i'd opt for a bit more. Forty five sixty days. Something like that just to be on the safe side. But thirty days minimum is what i found volk rehab or vr knee or whatever. You want to call. It goes through a different process than the post nine eleven. Gi bill but leveraging these two benefits together is really the best of both worlds. And here's why. I say that because let's say you use just about all of your post nine eleven gi bill to get your bachelor's degree in psychology. But you wanna be a licensed professional counselor. Will you need at least a master's degree for that and you've used almost all of your jive. Ill what are you gonna do. Well then you go to your local. Vr knee or volk rehab counselor and say. Hey here's what i need to do. And then you move into the vote rehab program now again. Your mileage may vary. Because i've heard again a lot of mixed stories mixed reviews of working with folk rehab counselor but that is your process and again i will post a link to these processes or actually there's a few links but all these processes and all these resources in the show with that we have reached the end of season six episode. So what are your questions voice memo on your phone and send it to podcast kurds. Fight again dot com. So what's on your mind. What questions are you asking. What are your family members asking or join the post. Nine eleven veterans families facebook group and post your question. There have block of questions but the most important question we can ask ourselves. Is this have. I accept the forgiveness of sins. That only comes through faith in jesus christ well. I'll see you right back here. Two weeks from the day and the next veteran questions we'll be asking is this. How do i increase my va. Disability rating ohio and for the special gift. I promised every thursday evening is hosting a sous vide for justice guys who are veterans. Sorry ladies you're coming soon. The training for that. We will be walking through the resolved journey. Together get your copy of resolve for thirty percent off using the code asked and just head over to courage fight again dot com and click on. Why Does the Year Start on January 1?
"Every year. The earth orbits around the sun and we celebrate each revolution on new year's day. But what's so special about this particular spot in our orbit. Why do we use january first as the start of our year as opposed to some other day as we go back in history. Most human civilizations did not use a solar calendar they used. Lunar calendar's in fact if you look at the traditional calendars for countries such as china vietnam or for religion such as judaism and islam. They have lunar calendars and their new year's day changes it state every year. Our current calendar can be traced back to ancient rome. The very early romans way back at the founding of the city used to have ten months and that ten months system is still reflected in many of the names of our months today. Their first month was marcus named after the god mars which we call march after march came the months of april ass- maya's and junius the months after this. We're just named after their number until he has sex tellus september october november and december so yeah december are twelve months really means the ten months in latin likewise with november october and september however. Ten months didn't really fit nicely into a year. They had two full months worth of leftover dates. That didn't really fit into any month to rectify this around the year. Seven hundred pc. The roman king numa added two more months to the counter. I annual areas named after the roman god janus and february's which was now the last and shortest month of the year for romans. The beginning of each month was called the callan's so the start of the year was the callans of march or mark. I then at some point and no one is quite sure. When the year began being counted on the calendar of i warious january went from being the eleventh month to being the first month. This might have had something to do with the start of terms for consoles. Romans named their years after the two consuls and power instead of numbering them so for example the year fifty nine bc. Julius caesar wisconsin with kelp. Biblis it was known as the year of caesar bibi however was weak so there was a running joke that it was the year of julius. Caesar it might also had something to do with the fact that january i was the callans closest to the winter solstice. Caesar is actually really important to this story. While the names of the months were very similar to the months we have today. The keller itself was still a mess. Caesar instituted changes to fix this problem. Anti adopted the suggestions of a greek astronomer named side of alexandria suggested going to a tropical year more on that in a bit and created the three hundred sixty five day year with a leap year every fourth year. So that's pretty much. The story right. The roman set january is the first day of the year julius. Caesar sets the julian calender. And we get to where we are today. Nope because in the middle ages the system fell apart completely at the five sixty seven council of tours and there were a whole bunch of different councils of tours so you have to specify. The church declared that january. I was not to be celebrated as the new year as it was a pagan tradition. What replace january first. Well nothing there were. A whole bunch of different days celebrated oliver europe for centuries. Some places used christmas. Which was the winter solstice on. The julian calendar some use the floating date of easter someone back to the old roman march first. And some if you remember back to the episode on why. Christmas is on december twenty fifth us. The important date of march twenty-fifth start of the new year eventually. For a whole host of reasons pope gregory the thirteenth the problems with the julian calender and use the opportunity to standardize the new year back to being january first for good measure. They also made january first holiday which it still is. Today originally january. I was the feast of the circumcision of jesus. But now it's just called the solemnity of mary. Of course not. Everyone was on board with the new calendar. Catholic countries were quick to adopt it but protestant and orthodox countries were not in particular. One country was very late to adopt january first as the beginning of the new year. That country was england. England celebrated their new year on march twenty fifth. In fact their colonies in the americas. Did this as well up until seventeen. Fifty two in seventeen. Fifty england passed what was known as the calendar new style. Act also known as chesterfield's act which is when they adopted the gregorian calendar. The very first thing mentioned in the act was the problem with using march twenty fifth as the new year when everyone else in europe used january first including scotland so when england finally adopted january first as the start of the new year. So did the american colonies for the first time today. Most countries now use the gregorian calendar even if it's only for business purposes to stay instinct with the rest of the world new year celebration such as ted in vietnam chinese new year or rosh hashanah are still traditional festivities held on different days all over the world. The fact remains that there's nothing astronomically significant about january first even though it celebrating an astronomical event aka revolution around the sun so if we were starting new calendar from scratch. What would we pick before. I mentioned that sausage unease of alexandria suggested we celebrate a tropical year and pick that word carefully as opposed to a solar year because there are two types of solar years and they're very similar a tropical year is the time from one season to the next based on win the solstices occur. The current years based on the gregorian calendar are tropical years. However there's also a thing known as ideal year which is when we measure the position of earth based on the location of stars the difference between a ideal year and a tropical year is very small. He said you real year is only twenty minutes longer. This can add up. However the difference between the julian calendar and the gregorian calendar is only eleven minutes per year and that caused a lot of problems over the centuries this has to do with the procession of the orbit that is constantly changing their to logical places to define a new year based on astronomic principles. The i would be one of the solstices. This is something that humans have pictured for thousands of years and have recognized its importance. The winter solstice also is in too far away from january. First the solstice really has more to do with the tilt of the earth however and not the orbit of earth there is something significant about the orbited the earth. That is a point. We could use and oddly enough. It's really close to january. First even though the ancients had no clue the orbit of the earth around the sun is close to circular but it isn't perfectly circular it's a slight ellipse hence there is a point where the earth is closest to the sun. And it's called the para helium perihelion in the year. Twenty twenty one takes place on january second the date of para helium drifts. Over time in the year twelve forty-six para helium actually took place on the same date as the salsas in the year. Six thousand four hundred and thirty it will take place. On the spring equinox so january first is the start of our year which marks astronomical event even though the data itself has no astronomical significance set by the romans abandoned by the church only to be later adopted once again by the church so as the romans did celebrate the callans of january which honors janice the roman god with two faces one which looks into the past at the old year and one which looks into the future at the new

The NHL Inches Closer To A Return
"What's the very latest. Like i know this is very fluid and changing and what you say now is not going to be true five minutes from now but his as best you're able to to grab and try to grasp some water in your hand and not let it slip through your fingers. Where are we at. I think we're in the grinding stage. There grinding away at the protocols there grinding away at the schedule there. Grinding away at the setup the divisions temporary realignment there grinding away at the transition rules. All of this stuff and you know basically people have been telling me it's endless. Zoom calls trying to figure it out and the players in the league decided that they're not going to touch their ask ro. They said they weren't doing that. But in order to to a greater deferments they said we consider certain things one was not this upcoming season but next season which is twenty one twenty two extra five hundred thousand dollars on the cap. Another five hundred thousand a year later and the league wasn't willing to go for that. I know they suggested compliance buyouts but as long as the players didn't have to pay for them and the league wasn't going for that. I think that one thing that also had been talked about was could individual players. Say yes we're willing to defer even if the whole group didn't agree to it but that was way too complicated and it didn't go anywhere so they didn't go anywhere on the financials and now they're you know they're grinding away. All the other stuff taxi squad. How big the is going to be if the ross twenty five people. How does that affect the cab house. The realignment gonna work first. Minnesota was in the pacific and then saint. Louis was in the pacific. Minnesota was out and then they were talking about saint louis and minnesota going to the pacific and dallas going into the central division. Apparently dallas has said. You know we'll do whatever but they laugh the pacific a few years ago to get back into that that central time zone so they're happy With doing that. I know the players were hoping to vote end of the weekend maybe beginning of next week and the league sort of middle towards end of next week. I think that's what everyone's kind of aiming for so as you mentioned off the top. They're the latin packing that you mentioned that they're not touching the financial some conversation about it. And will you do this if we do that. But ultimately that remains the same and they move onto the return to play. All the protocols involve is this the rare case. And we'll do this all under the umbrella of the current incarnation of this. Nhl goes back to. Oh four zero. Five and bob good now and the salary cap etcetera. Is this the first case that we've seen where the nhl pa dug in its heels. Didn't give in didn't budge and one. Here's why i'm not giving you a yes sooner or later. This bill is going to get paid. I think this generation of players could say yes we won. We stood strong. We agreed to a deal. We didn't move from the deal. Though thing that the commissioner is right about from what he said publicly is that it's a fifty fifty deal yup and at some point in time the bill has to be paid and the biggest issue. The owners have is cash flow. This is why some of them are really upset. Cash flow is going to be down in the league. Because there's going to be no fans in the building. This year will not be fifty fifty. It's going to tip towards the players. Probably the most ever. It's going to tip towards the players and the escrow that's going to be collected is in no way going to be equal what's going to be owed. Yup it's possible. After this year the players are gonna. Oh the owners more than a billion dollars as a matter of fact depending on who you locked talk to. It's not just possible. It's likely i'm just being careful. 'cause i'm getting my math from everywhere else and i haven't sat down and done it myself. But it's likely that they're going to owe them more than a billion dollars and the problem. Is that the schedule of that. Pay is slower than the owners would like. So there's gonna be some cash flow issues so they're unhappy but what it means is. Is that the cap is not going to go up. Maybe for the entirety of this. Cba yup so that affects the players and the other thing is at some point in time. This money is going to become do. And what's that going to mean like their owners right now. Who are saying their concern. Is that this six year deal. There's a time where it gets triggered to seventh year if the losses are at a certain amount and they will be so after seven years the players are still gonna hold the owners money and that's going to become part of the next cba and what that's gonna mean and this might send us all into retirement. Jeff is that six or seven years from now there's gonna be one hell of being negotiated all because the owners are gonna come into. Its saying you owe us hundreds of millions of dollars and the players are going to say well we think part of it. Some of that should be forgiven worried about this. This is a long term thing. But i can tell you the owners are thinking about it now and the league is thinking about it now so the only reason. I say it's not unequivocal. Yes for the players is that there are some players playing now who are going to be hugely affected by this. What was the line that you used on me on hockey central. Oh this is Travis ajax sang jack hughes. Yeah you're going to pick up this bill and that's definitely part of this so i think the current players. It's a win the guys who won't be playing in six or seven years. It's a win but the guys who will be it's not a win historically though is just as an aside. I mean bob. Good no talked about this in the four. Oh five negotiation salary caps always pit player versus player. Because you define a pie. Everyone fights for their piece of it so it shouldn't come to any surprise that again. This is the players association. Saying you know what if anyone's going to get stuck with the bill here. It's going to be the kids. The rookies amongst all the players that are capped. And everybody is the rookies triple capped. You know there's a team salary cap. There's an individual players salary cap and there's a rookie salary cap as well. This is the history. This is the history of Of the of the nhl or and happens in in every sport is always the guys that are coming in like. Listen shane right. Hasn't played a single game in the nhl. He's affected by this decision. Yes absolutely and you know if go back. Fifteen years. The highest paid players in the nba or the picks glen robinson number one. Pick think nine hundred nine ninety five sixty nine million and the people in the league were like we're stopping this. The veterans are said. This is crazy so they came up with the nba rookie salary cap. You look at the nfl. The quarterback so used to be taken to the top of the draft. Anybody got taken to the top of the draft huge deals. The veterans said. We're putting a stop to this and they did. That's the way it works and it's not just like that in sports there's unions all over the world that do this kind of thing they take care of the current worker at the expense of the future. One it's not unusual and that's exactly what happened here sooner or later. This bill is going to become do okay so you talked about how this to the grind time right now in the nhl in the players association trying to get this thing hammered outs I'm curious about a couple of things here on vaccines in a second But in the summer players were allowed to opt out. Now is a much different time. We didn't know as much about covid. Nineteen as we do now. We knew the we are heading into unknown. But was the bubble entire landscape. Can we just didn't know there were questions. And there were certain risks as some players opted out in. Everyone said no problem we understand. How much is opt out an issue right now boy. That's a great question. I think we could see some retirements. Yep i think the other thing is how comfortable do some people feel like playing if you watch the news and don't live in a cave or read the news. We are two or three months away from the vaccine. starting to have a real positive effect on society. We probably won't have full fans until next season. Dr fauci said a week ago. The next league to begin its season with full fans will likely be the nfl in september but were getting closer however these next two months. They're going to be ugly painful

"Against what's going on out there in the markets will clinch OUGHTA. Pullback yesterday. Unsuccessfully. Really. Look. Like I say H die that we can solve it and there's five days now one, two, three, four, five minutes I can solve I mean we have really gone anyway you know we sort of bubbling around in a bit of Ryan. So, what are the main to me was I should say We'll aged either we bubble. The moving criminal a little closer back to where process currently now you know. I looked at try pullbacks. Pullback. We saw I saw as consolidation that occurred back fall looks pretty much from the twelfth of October to the seventeenth of October just Assad Roy. Zippy zippy's easy ZAP. And and then we saw that little bullish candle now that bullish was on the seventeenth of two. and. What we say from, there's a just a really great run. You know it's just a bloody good move simple as that. That's it a really, really really strong move. Sorry From here. What are we were? Options will as we consoled Loa well, it doesn't look at this moment. Look things can change very very quickly bitcoin strong right now let's not forget it. You know the clothes that we had yesterday. Is the highest close that we have ever had on the x shot, but we haven't closed that high. Let me tell you the last time we close at home that that close. Thirteen, six, full five. That's the the loss close that we had high was the eighth of January two, thousand and tank. That's a long time ago. You know that's that's a long time ago. So. It's it is looking incredibly bullish and we could certainly say bitcoin just tackle and just say you know what? Thank you mother for the rabbit shot the guys hold Shot the guy the horses bolted and off we go on I, rip. Of A? So, these are the realities of our marketing aged. As we consolidate, we get closer to having an opportunity where we look to be too overboard. And then. We can. Off Again. Tell you the truth. I love a little pullback really would. Pay The guy. Nor what what Bitcoin Golf Forever said why? But I wanted to get up with simplicity why because I tried? The a trade for living radio. So what I want I, want to pull back because pullback software paternity PULCHRA breakout. It'd be fine. The three strategies designed around pullbacks or breakouts. That's it. Boom Shaka Laka Saunders. Whitening say what does on? Basically. I didn't come in on the fifteen but tell you what? He a little bit sleigh for the time being. So what happened yesterday was we did move down. We moved down to a low all who are twelve, thousand, seven, hundred, seventy, six, hundred, close at thirteen, thousand, sixteen army closed above the thousand wants gang. With currently ops fraught now half percent the one to thirteen, thousand, one, hundred and twenty dollars and I'm just keeping an all out a pull back into that twelve pullback level. You starting to increase you know back in that cradles on the top of the crowd was on, which is a ten is now twelve, six, five nights a pretty close. Keeps creeping up as the market continues to console that bitcoin is looking of super duper bullish. What else have we got on the odds right now theory and pulled back to that four hundred get a in their took a tried yesterday. Da. On the sixteen hour. Said I wasn't gonNA try brought my rule pretty dirty I'm a cellphone that but high. Go to just go to shopping up. About decision I wasn't feeling good. That's why site when you're not feeling good, you shouldn't be trying I did the wrong thing and I pay the price of intimate down on that down myself but just down that I might have. I. Mike Errors I am. So. This wall doesn't make it. Any easier doesn't get any better way artist therion brought now's rod licking cradles. Any trades there on the day. But tell you what if we can push out from here? It's going to be such a beautiful Trenton thinking they'll be lots of good opportunities yesterday down three point five percent now currently at three, hundred, ninety, four, Dole seventy, seven off hop a half of a percent right now law on excel paste over the correct that twenty six, mock yesterday we were down two percent we counted twenty four point nine cents I just below twenty, five Dan points to the rave of. BITCOIN cash did reject the two seven, five resistance. So he bounced off to I three, thirty five, the lower end of that channel had talked. I don't try channels, but it's a very simple horizontal plight, very simple horizontal level that I look at to help me. Rebounds Twenty Three Thirty Five, and we raised up to two, hundred, seventy, five, sixty, five, which was the brand of that resistance that will now back in a to sixty point three, five, Selah full point. Three seven percent yesterday. So we are still in a very nonstop translate what bitcoin up trying to see our even exile pay it's not trend, but it's pretty crafty bitcoin cash beautiful uptrend onto lot coin next, which is also in love looking up trying to pull back three point four, five percent. Yes, I currently. It's at one point three, one point one, percent, fifty, seven dollars fifty. The wake he's only starting to look a little bit better. Michael Malone -- Shame on NBA for not allowing coaches' families in bubble
"Nuggets coach Mike Malone went after the NBA, on Friday, calling their policy of not allowing coaches to bring family into the bubble quo criminal in nature. So you're speaking to reporters ahead of game two and Malone answered a different question about the bubble by saying, he needed to get something off of his chest. So let's play the clip is day number sixty and and the reason I bring that up is because The players have their families here, which which they deserve, which is the right thing to do. Referees are allowed to being one guest, which is great for the referees. The coaches, the coaches are not allowed to bring anybody. I say shame on you NBA. This is crazy. I. Miss My family and I think I speak for me speak for my coaches and probably all the coaches down here sixty days and not having access and not being granted the privileged to have my family come here to me is criminal in nature and that shouldn't be Jin at all so I want to get that off my chest. So. Nuggets coach Mike Malone very upset there I know some other coaches sort of a you know had his back with these comments. Tasks way. What do you think is Malone overreacting is fair. What's your opinion? Well, let's just clear this scenario here just to make sure everybody's got it. Straight the players didn't have their families until this round either so they went. Fifty fifty five sixty days without seeing their families either and thinking back. I. It's Kinda surprising that they didn't demand that from the beginning or or at least a lot earlier right. So other twenty, two teams that came down there. Now, there's only eight fourteen of the teams didn't see their families whatsoever but now to to Michael Malone's part of it because it is surprising that. The players are allowed. So about fifteen of the thirty five people that come with each organization, the fifteen players get their families to come with them but the other twenty don't, and that's surprising a really surprising that I I didn't know the referee ruled that the refusal. To know that at all, I'm not sure win that took place if if that was from the beginning or what, but it would make sense for the coaches to have somebody a significant other possibly there are there are probably they're older as well most of these coaches. So a lot of them probably don't have little kids that would wanna be down the bubble, but significant other would make sense and and I'm just surprised looking back. We didn't go. We talked about the hundred and thirty five page manual over and over and over again in the months of April and May and June while this was happening. And all the rules and know we weren't really up in arms about it because we know it's a players league and they get first crack at everything about looking back. Yeah. It would be make sense not just for the coaches and the party to have somebody there but the players as well from the beginning and. I don't I'm not I'm not gonna get nickel and dime in think this hotel room is gonNa cost much I. Know It's costing the the NBA A lot, but they can afford to put up. Or even. An older these coaches are older may not even cost them another hotel room they could just be in the same hotel. Now I'm nickel and diming make sense that have their families there at least. One or two people they don't have to have a cousin Joe and cousin bill come on but at least their their their nuclear core family. That would that would make sense. So I'm with I Echo I echo coach Michael Malone. Salon couple months, but they probably should have had it for the whole time and not even now? Well, no, you can't say I don't think we can say they everybody should have had it from the whole from the jump from the start because we let's try and remember like months ago how insane like this ideal even was and whether it was even going to work and we were pretty convinced the more people you try to add into the bubble, the less likely it is going to be successful. So that meets sense like I'm sorry guys you are going to be away from your. Family's players included I. Think we're the frustration is coming from with the coaches and I think rightfully is it sounded like the NBA at the time when they're making the manual going through all the logistics and say, okay, well, the players like you know if they're here the playoffs, they can bring people down coaches. We don't WanNa lock that in right now because we're not convinced this whole experiments going to work this whole campus things going to work, but we will revisit it. That's what it sounded like they sort of said to them they didn't say no, you never see your family again. You want coach come down here and your coaching. It sounded like, yeah, that might be a possibility. We'll put that on the side burner and then we'll revisit that and now we're at the point to revisiting it and they have decided that they're not going to do it and it sort of probably you're a coach down there going look this is working. This is a safe you know why can't we now the coaches that remain here with now opening up of rooms and stuff like that I think. That's a fair like frustration if I was a coach.
2-Day Cradles On Offer XTZPERP
"Have a few things that are interesting from where I stand right now the the markets on the to dive back into the crowd sign on both on. Bitcoin. On the day and we got little bullish channels I should say in the crowd on Bitcoin are theory on exile. On. bitcoin cash on lot coin nobody it's they cod Donna not so much Braun Ales and link. Now that doesn't mean tried them at all as is the one I like the most guy will look at that against the federal looking really really good their. Loss way we saw pullback on Bitcoin. The first time in what one, two, three, four wakes down two point, two, five percent, and like I sort of hinted or touched on last week there is potential full further downside I try to get back to ten thousand wouldn't be out of the wouldn't stretch it. It's it's still had a very big moment. Now's extended on those moving averages massively, but it has you know I. It is outside of those moving averages. Snap back or pullback. Into those averages in a healthy looking trans wouldn't be outside of the realms of positivity. Breakout through the hive yesterday, which is only eleven seven to five that much are a little bit more strength. A bitcoin suddenly have that four hour trend. Looking much more bullish and I'm hopeful to say that today and give us some conditions for further upside throughout the wake. Across the market, many of these markets have. Indeed had a pullback and opportunities may present themselves. So that those, it know how to trade the cradle pullbacks on that to date going to have a little bit customer scan. That's what I liked. The most others noise little to date candle for the moment. Eleven thousand, six, hundred, thirty, four on. Bitcoin right now theory look I said on that some. Tonight's back into weeklies very extended three, hundred, ninety dollars and eleven cents down point two percent loss weight. We saw pullback GNAWING, ten percent. A ten percent pullback on third not. No surprise really author had had such a stellar onto the outside, not really too much for me at the moment wants a guy want to see the highs of the weekend with talking about? Three Ninety seven thirty six, ultimately I WANNA take full hundred that allow the four hour timeframe backing up trying to pull back into that four hundred level will be worthwhile considering. X is a twenty, nine point three cents down off percents today during the week down where loss weight down six, point six, three, percent, the four hour I wanna say break above twenty nine cents and then we'll have that uptrend in motion nothing that familiar bitcoin cash very similar. It's GonNa break the high of two hundred, eighty dollars sixty five that four hour to get back into the motion on the wake lost weight. We saw pullback the level to seventy, five, sixty five, which was all resistance within that channel that we help a months. It was down seven point eight percent it has tested that level right now. The two-day of a bullish candle cradles on, but it's a very messy looking chart. Lot Coin has bullish candle in the crowd on the on the two-day I wanNA save breakout three, sixty, one, sixty I that will have us with a mental following backstory Cried I gotta be honest demolished we did have a wake pullback last week down five point five percent right now not much else that may on lot coin based Vail's thirteen percent down. I don't really like anything about this the right now. To the long saw potential for shorts guy. Is still going to get better clarity for me though at this moment in time one, only three right now on the. Don is also come off. When I look at this way, we've had the most bearish weekly across all these lakes, the moving average. The ten has now cooled back up the price. We down twelve point, six, percent loss were sitting at twelve cents flat. And A MACHO SIPA MAY ON COW Donna. Barnett's lost week pullback seven percent. That trend is still very much emotion there on that weekly I do like the look of it to be fair I just needed to do a little bit more to twenty one dollars ninety three rot now. Else another one here on to die, Looks Very Austin David Abolish Channel News to break the high of three dollars thirty nine. Then, we'll have that in action further up saw potential looking more lockley lost weight. We did once again say fourteen point four percent not surprise considering it did have a fairly strong move to the upside throughout the week before. Rounding out the top ten is link right now in link last week did have a twenty percent pool by now down one point eight percent at Fourteen Dole is ninety a guy not surprising considering the Gusto in which it moved to the upside. So right now, a guidance really about watching these high watching the the high timeframe's really. Looking out for opportunities might present themselves. A couple of opportunities hard times like with token to sort of markets but it does look clock Ignatz just work itself out a little bit say what it wants to do it's not shiny. Any real amazing strength thraw now I'M GONNA patiently waiting to stay with the next move is and just take
The Plague of Justinian I
"Welcome back to another episode of five minutes in Church history. On this episode, we're talking about a very dark moment in church history and history the plague of Justinian. The first first let's talk about just in the first he was born in four eighty seven. He came to be Roman emperor in five, twenty seven and he reigned until his death in five sixty three at the time of becoming Roman emperor the barbarian tribes controlled much of what was the Roman Empire The ostrogoths controlled Rome in the boot of Italy that extends down into the Mediterranean Sea the visigoths controlled Spain, the vandals controlled what was formerly North Africa the Roman empire was a fraction and a mere shadow of its former self just Indian ruled from capital at Constantinople. He was determined to bring back the glory that once was the Roman Empire. To do so he would need to launch military campaigns to the east into the Iberian Peninsula to the south and the vandals to the West and the ostrogoths into the north. He had to launch military campaign literally in every direction. And he was very successful after a decade or so of military campaigns warfare. Then in five forty, two Justin faced a new invisible enemy. Well, we'll get to that in a moment first a few more points on just in the first, he is known as giving us the Codex Justinian us it's also sometimes called the Corpus juris civilised. This is the body of civil law. Someone took the time to count it. It's somewhere around the neighborhood one million words. It was a massive rule of law to govern the Roman Empire contains laws on criminal and civil matters on trade, but it also controls laws regarding heresy and Orthodoxy, and even laws regulating paganism. Another thing about just in the first is that he is the creator of the Huggy Sophia he was not the architect though he had significant conversations with the architect and was very influential in the plans but it was under his watch that the Haganah Sophie was built from five, thirty, two to five, thirty seven the old basilica had fallen during riots in that city and just in use the occasion to build what was the biggest church the Roman Empire ever saw its length was two, hundred, sixty, nine feet. Its width was two hundred and forty feet and extended a height of one hundred and eighty feet. It was a massive structure. The HAGIA Sofia. Well, that's just any in the first. Now, briefly on his plague in five, forty to the bubonic plague broke out. This is the your cineas pestis. What came to be known as the black plague. It would come again in the thirteen hundreds and it would manifest throughout the Middle Ages and the time of the reformation. Back in five, forty, two, it is believed to have started in Egypt. This plague then carried on merchant ships too many nations and to three continents. Africa Europe Asia it is credited as the first pandemic in recorded history. It brought all of the efforts of Justinian one to a stop it ended the military campaigns devastated the economy. It ended up killing millions at its height. It would take five thousand lives a day in the city of Constantinople alone. Even. Just any in the first contract. Did it. But he survives one of the stories from that time PRA copious notes of the effect of the plague on the people it caused them to shake off the unrighteousness of their daily lives and practice the duties of religion with diligence but sadly, he also notes. That as soon as they were rid of the disease, they went right back to their old ways. Well, that's just any in the first, and that's the justinian plague five, forty two

"Five sixty K SF. Oh. So I want to repeat again nations have changed in the past. But they usually changed this radically and this dramatically only effort country has been invaded and conquered by a foreign army. But you see we have a foreign army. It's called the democrat party. They they basically represent a foreign army because every poll that was recently done across the spectrum race has nothing to do with. It are are saying immigration is the number one problem in America today. Now, how do you resolve that problem by letting everyone from the third world into your country? You know that can't be done. That's the end of your nation. How many times right told you that a sell a human cell an animal cell a plant cell. Animal cell has a cell membrane, which keeps all stuff inside that cell in their plant cell as a cell wall keeps the plant pro to plaza inside the cell. What happens when you break the cell wall? It uses out and bad stuff uses in. That's why nations developed borders. Now, let's look at the Vatican. Where the communist pope resides in glory with some of the most expensive art on the planet. Do they have a wall? Yes. It was built in the thirteenth hundreds. It's unassailable from the earth and level, and it was built to repel Muslim invaders pope to tell you that wall's work. That's why I built a wall. And if he doesn't believe that he ought to have one of the walls removed. I let the hordes go into the Vatican and help themselves to the treasures, so it's all a bunch of lies. If you believe this stuff, they're throwing at you. There was so much money involved in the illegal immigration world. Whether it be smuggling immigrants bringing in drugs, whatever it may be related to it. There are people making fortunes off it. And a lot of that money gets kicked up to the politicians. I mean, don't be naive. Please doping. I even think all of them love love immigrants so much. Okay. Be clear. Now, let's talk about my show for a minute. Because it's the first day of a whole new show and people are confused. I'm getting e mails from New York saying we're trying to listen to your podcast. We can't. That's because the podcast does not go up..

The host Norah O'Donnell is talking to Republican strategist, Dan senor who is one of Paul Ryan's big buddies enter talking about the impact of Republican retirements on Democrats taken control of the house. I want you to listen to this because she starts out talking about the House Republicans are retired left. A lotta open seats, including speaker, Ryan, those House Republicans that retired and left a lot of open seats, including speaker, Paul Ryan said I don't want to be around when Democrats are in charge. And he called that all the way back in January. These fields to say today with a smile on his face, and he feels the same way today. I don't wanna be around when Democrats are. Are in charge. You said it all the way back in January. Why what was there in January that indicated Democrats are going to be in charge? The Blue Wave this incessant never ending excited. Drumbeat coming from left wing, America left wing media. That was going to be a big Blue Wave. I don't wanna be promo. God, I don't wanna be here. When a democrat you're in charge. I'd say a lot of this is rooted in deep down these people just don't like Trump, and they don't want to succeed. If Trump is a factor in it. That's pretty much a a never-trumper mantra while they watch much of what they've devoted their lives to happen than BMC lamented. They oppose it..

Even though I came up with it, Shelley Elgin, Illinois, you're on with Mark. Good morning. College talk about this issue with family destroying each other, essentially. Go ahead. You're on you're on the air with Mark. I couldn't hear you. My mother was eighty six and my sister who sixty one. We're. Fans and extraordinarily the election. My mother like mom electoral college, she'd never heard of okay, fine. I I am the people that are considered the swamp. Educated professional person. Yup. I'm everything they say, it's terrible. So my sister. She didn't want me to be refund originally because she thought that I would have. And she also they cut me off because they couldn't handle anything. I was saying I was trying so far not Tom and Condorcet. So I'm used to this or I think. Us. But the things that amazed near like when my mother looks at me and says, you're the smartest person I know bay so incredibly stupid, how can you support that man? And then as you mentioned funds. Discover because we never talk politics that my friends all of them supporting Trump all highly educated. So you're not supposed to be highly. Yeah. You're not supposed to be highly educated. And not be able to see that. He's awful and terrible and this disaster. And personally, he's even worse. How could you not see that? Because you see I've never thought that much of degrees or what people call intelligence as much as I look for wisdom. What can I learn from you? And so the degrees don't mean much. I mean, I have only master three, but it so I don't care. I'm not impressed by degrees. I met and know people have PHD's I'm not impressed by them. So that doesn't concern me. But the elitists of the country, they think they figured it all out, especially where I live in California, and in New York and places like that that how did you ever vote for this disaster? The fact is I'm not going to go over the list. I did on Monday. I think the things he's done the difference. He's made has been you. And some colleges have said the the best president they've seen in their life lifetime. So I I don't get the other side is hard. But I do get in some ways. Visceral emotional that this bumbling fool.

And the in whatever his name was was in there yesterday says we are where we are. Sorry. You don't like it. That's just the point just because they are the leading artists doesn't mean I have to like them does it and just because they're the leading artists. Do you think they talk to me? Now, they don't talk to me. I grew up with literate artists. I wrote I grew up. What do you think I play rock and roll four from the fifties? First of all, I love it. But there's a reason for it. Have you heard the lyrics? Glorify women women are beautiful. It's a different thing. Now the lyrics from these filth artists. Debase women turn women into garbage living in the metoo generation. And I'm supposed to worship gutter rats who talk about beating up women and using them like tissue paper, you got it all wrong. Look at the lyrics that these these junk heads, whereas the lyrics I haven't here somewhere, it's all about drugs. Sex glorifying showing off with things that they own. Showing off where you know, wearing stuff like jewels in their nose stuff like that. I don't like it. I'm sorry. I'm not into it. So I don't care if they're popular it's not my audience. Meaning it's not for me. I don't like it. I think it's filth. You talked about using ecstasy. I'm supposed to say, oh, yeah. That's great use.
