"To in fact they'll be from twelve thirty to three thirty eastern time on f s tomorrow. Then they go over to s. n. ny from five to six thousand sunday. F s two from twelve thirty all the way until the end of the car at six pm. Well when we came onto the show. Dave we heard the replay of this year's great to santoli pay at santa anita. One by life is good. That's the last time that life is good has found the winter circle. He's had a lot happened since that win. He got injured shortly. Afterward had to miss the triple crown races he's moved from bob baffert spar over todd pletcher spartan and he's moved from the west coast to the east coast. At least for the time being resurfaced in the grade one alan jerkins at saratoga last time out and looked like he was well on his way to a win. But was run down by the uber. Talented jackie's warrior thrilling stretch tool that day. They were miles clear of everybody else shows up now facing his elders in the one turn mile grade to kelso race. Four on these saturday card at belmont park and david aragona thinks that he's going to win. He's laid him. Believe it or not one to nine on the morning line. Great morning line. It's a hundred percent right. Life is good is going to be any enormous favored a deserving huge favourite. And it's really hard to see much else. I think you bring up a great point facing elders for the first time. I'm just not sure. Any of these elders can run with a horse. That was very likely on his way to being the kentucky derby favorite simply put it kind of looks like to me that not only is life is. There's a very simple way. We joke about it all the time when it comes to have handicapped when somebody why they like a certain horse. He's just better than these horses. That it's simple it's simple. At basically every race he runs would be this field. He's probably going to get the lead he's probably never gonna look back. He's one going further than a mile in the past. And this is a great tuneup for the breeders cup dirt mile where he is. The early odds favored at least offshore In those wagers. So i it sounds like you like life is good. I like life is good. Listen we're not really. We're not convincing anybody of anything here. It seems like a free square. It's early in the car to try to keep this race out of the pick sixes and the late pick five but it is start actually of a middle. Pick five tomorrow on the belmont card. It's a mandatory payout. pick five. They usually have to pick fives on the naira cards. One early the first five races on the card one late last five races on the guard. Sometimes on these bigger race days they'll add a third one and because it's not a wager that's offered every day it automatically as a mandatory payout and my guess is dave. Most people are considering this a pick four. Pick five yeah no question. The big difference is the takeout the pick five take guts only fifteen percent making it a much better.

"Listening. W gr Sports Radio five FT. Coming up here on the pre race show shortly. We'll be talking about the Goodyear tire strategy of the day, because if there is a race track on the circuit that chews up tires, it's Atlanta Motor Speedway. But first up in the batting order is our KFC winning moment. In the first five races this year, five different drivers had gone to victory Lane. Can we run that streak to six? We're about to find out here in Atlanta Motor Speedway, and I knew our strong area or car was not the short run. You know, we weren't that good On the short run. We could just kind of maintain knowledge. Larson, he would drive away but just maintain with everybody then After 15 25 sweet kind of start coming forward, and then towards the end of those longer runs, we really start coming forward. Now they dive into turn three Hamlin fans out to the top side margins heating up at the bottom. Blaine. He's got the leadoff for talk to Todd a lot today about our car hitting the racetrack pretty hard. And it upset and we got that as a race went on. It got a little bit better. Here goes Blaney. He'll go off to the tops on he'll go up to the Larson Lane to try to catch Larson. He gets a big run off the top of the racetrack. Larson moves up the block. Now plenty crosses over goes to the inside by a half a curling. He leads that lap with eight to go to start and halfway through the final stage. I had I had golf in this week. Made really good changes to our car and just hoping that it would be a long run towards the end. Here's Ryan Blaney, making a statement today that he is one of the winners at Penske Racing once again, down to the bottom of the racetrack. Here comes Ryan Blaney. A great run and a lot of patience this afternoon. Call Ryan Blaney, the comeback kid. He didn't quit. He hung in there he passes Kyle Larson late. Ryan Blaney wins the Bulls of Honor. "Out to be here. We've been here all morning. We haven't had a lot of calls, but there's a few people on hold. Should we take a couple brochure? 866 I love W J. Let's go to Georgia. Athens, Georgia. Where a buddy Lewis lives. Louis, What's the news over there, buddy? Yeah, I kind of feel like I like Marjorie Taylor Green. But we're going to go through this biological threat is going to backfire or need to do things like have vowed to you arrested. And all the ones who did the conspiracy against us in the US first and then go after these other guys in like China and all. So what are you saying? Lewis that you don't agree with what Marjorie Taylor Green saying. No, because it wasn't directed directly to the US It was a threat that went through the entire world. I think Italy is the one that had it hit the hardest. And, uh, everybody is not on the same playing field with this. We need to go after China for the whole world. Of being affected versus just the United States, even though we did lead the charge first, you're closing down the people coming into the U. S and stuff but concentrated going to biological warfare That's really going over. An extreme there when we need the cost real things that are right right in front of our face like the algae and, you know, trying to get the Republicans to grab a set and, you know, start lifting the lid again. That's right. Well, I get it. Lewis. I would be nice to do believe it's called nut up, right? Yes. If you saw that zombie movie, it's funny. He didn't bring up that whole thing about reacting quickly. Now they're criticizing Trump. Because when he was in office, he let this thing get out of hand. They've They've actually come out and said on television people with straight faces that Donald Trump didn't do enough and didn't act soon enough to to try to protect us from this thing. Was it January of 2020. I believe when Donald Trump said We had got to keep everybody from China. Yeah, from flying over here, Or maybe everybody from anywhere flying over here until we can get a handle on this thing. They lost their mind. All the Democrats and the media just started racist. Oh, my God. What a horrible rape. See? There he goes. We've been telling you how terrible Trump is, and there he goes doing it again. And then months later, when they finally realized what they should do well, like Well, Yeah, we should have shut that border down quicker. We should have stopped people from fine in here sooner. Why didn't trump do it fast? Didn't he do anything? I get that some people don't like Marjorie Taylor Green. I get it. But what if I told you She just introduced legislation to abolish the A. T F. She went to. She just proposed a bill that says we ought to get rid of the department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms that stuff people like Well, people like alcohol, tobacco and firearms. But Mr Oh, that's my point. They they're the regulatory committed over it. Yeah, the A T F is the group of people that don't like alcohol, Tobacco and firearms. The It's a bureau, right. Is that technically not a not a department, whatever the point is, What do we need him for? Really? What do we need The A T f four. Can someone give me a good reason? Why patriotic Americans is the EF. Are they not responsible for murdering a bunch of Children in Waco, Texas? Back in the night? Yeah, there was that one time Come over it. You know Waco camp. Could you imagine if Twitter had existed back then? Didn't they try to shut down talk radio stations for putting them on the air. The people that Branch Davidians I get it. The Branch Davidian guys were quirky and weird and quirky. Maybe they had some bizarre religious beliefs, but Were they not their beliefs? I don't think anybody was forced to stay there until the government came along, right? No. Was anyone ever they would have you believe that they were no, that's that they they they tell lies. They they tell these stories so they can justify the actions that they want to commit. People will come along, and they'll criticize Marjorie Taylor green, They'll say. You know, she made a Nazi comparison at an inappropriate time, and I'll think well, she shouldn't have done that. But but also she wants to get rid of Dr Fauci in the A. T F. Well, well, and didn't they all make very unfortunate Nazi comparisons as well, every one of them, But there's were targeted towards Democrat or towards conservative. So that was fine. 866. I love W. J. If you'd like to join the conversation. On this fine Monday morning as cowboy from Louisiana has done, cowboy what you called to tell us brother. Great be so y'all remember back in the day a little while ago when Kyle Larson number five right now he drives for Hendrick Motor Sports in the NASCAR series. Remember, he got in a little trouble for saying a little Racial Fleur while playing a video games and then Chevrolet decided he shouldn't be racing in NASCAR anymore. Well since then Carl Austin came back to NASCAR Hall. He's one Five. Count them five races in a row, including the All Star race in Austin, Texas. Million dollar deal. Oh, and by the way, Bubba Wallace is average finish of the season is 23, where he has spun out by himself. Five of those times. That's a great point, cowboy. Somebody's keeping score. Yeah, for those that don't remember Kyle Larson, the NASCAR racer got into trouble. When he was 27 years old. This was a year ago a little over a year ago, and he was doing online virtual racing because it's the pandemic and all and he used a dirty word that he ought not have used. But what if his defense was he was only virtually using the word. It was just a virtual word. It was just a virtual n word. Everybody relax. Don't worry. Hey, who remembers How much fun Ryan Lochte was in the last Olympics? Oh, so much fun. All right, Ryan Lochte in the last Olympics faked kidnapping. Wasn't that what he did Think kind of thing that he got taken or beaten or something? I almost forgot What happened to him? Well, anyway, uh, turns out he's failed to qualify. In the New Summer Olympics, so he doesn't even get to go this time. And that's the world record line. Lochte is well.

"A time of the year to say. I'm gonna jump back in. I mean this isn't. This isn't taken a year off and jumping back in february. I thought he also also you know he be. We haven't seen it from the results nor from the tv footage but he was quite okay to get back as in his first race Into the tour of switzerland after a time off and He did a decent time-trial. You know he did the same time as corrupt pass and it was a hard time drought. It was it was a you know a slow time. Drop off the north course. And i think that's good for what i think. It's a lot better for come to milan to get back into racing. In this way like progressively waterton all of a sudden being again there with the first guys because then he's back into the spotlight and then the expectations are super high and then basically the reason why he goes out of it which is reportedly. You know the stress and the constant obsession to details. Never been able to take time off was the reason. So i think the way he came back is ideal and I hope we can. We can progressively a good good to greats. Tom malaga and the other thing. I think they'd be remiss not talking about is because it is in the news today and it just to even hear yourself say this just sounds you know you got a problem when you have to say this did team israel our startup nation. Whatever they call themselves has decided to take from the tour de france. That's the fucking headline like well. You know it is it is. I mean if we've seen we haven't talked about during the during the dauphinee but obviously we've seen the same struggle going on your for chris room during the donate east trying trying his it everything he has from what i hear the way he trains is incredible. He wants wants to get back. It's it's i'm sorry to say is just not there and i'm i'm afraid it's never going to be there again. At least not as it was before. And that's and you know there's no shame to say it's this super super big accident. He had ended they Degradable injuries and his and his age. I i who knows what happens. Guys remember when the early to mid twenties to come back the but he's mid he It's just it's i do think it's impossible at that age. I've been that age. I've been in the. It's not the same. The body that doesn't hits the ground differently. It hurts differently it recovered in. It just doesn't come back remember last year when we did the best of the blue train and we had just save on our show. We asked him about kris room and he said and he's been in the same situation he said i hope for him but i don't think so it's at that stadium in your career with that kind of injury. It's almost impossible. And he was right he was right now. Personally i if we talk about crystal You know i kind of feel. I kind of feel bad for him. Struggling like that and personally and that's my personal opinion. I don't really understand why chris from wants to go to the theater. Franz well hang on this. I'm glad you said that on. Because i i'm looking at george and of course georgia's friends with everybody. I mean you know. World leaders rockstars. All the best guy. Everybody so i george in in in christopher pensive and self friends though a dive a question for you george because just on the heels of what said is there any chance. He's playing possum. So i'm actually really glad you ask questions because i do remember you. Guys ain't something similar about my good friend bar. Kaddish now is won five races in the last two months in his clearly almost back to the top of his game in. It's pretty awesome. Obviously not go through the same sort of interest interesting injury processes crisper by went through a lot as a sprint. We all know how hard it is mentally when you just cannot do what you're born to do so i'm i'm looking at crystal. Yes he's got a long road ahead. But i'm thinking he's taken. Every little step is a win. He's he's made the tour de france. And i see his kind of attitude where he's like. Hey i couldn't walk two years ago. And i saw him. I saw him. I mean he could barely walk now. He's racing jordan brand. He's got he's got to look at in positive a way that he's very okay. He's not at his best. But i'm not counting amount. You guys can among account have my fingers crossed. He gets better and maybe we can talk about more after the see how he does Clearly he's arkham is best but it's good to see him still on the door. In the recent amount of respect he has for the race wanted to go even though he knows he's far from his best. I think it's a you know something to be respect now. I listen. you don't sign a con- new team much bigger budget. You sign a huge five year contract arguably arguably the richest contract ever cycling year got. Yeah you have to if you can. You have to go under that even if you're in the group eto every day that's of course this is first of all what i'm setting. My opinion is nothing against chris. Room i just reality. I think you know a champion at one the to france four-times who has worn. Jiro has cannot go to france to be in the repetto. That's just not just right. I mean and also as a team. It's not. It's not great for the image. I mean yeah okay. It can create some kind of sympathy. But you don't buy a lot of stuff with sympathy..

"They're shuttled to the side. By the time this issue came out. It had already been announced. That bobby allison was leaving rainier racing at the end of the season to hear. Bobby allison tell it. All the way back in the fifteenth episode of our show the seeds were sown for that split during the nineteen ninety-one daytona five hundred. Which was just the second race that bobby had driven for that team and he had won the first ever assad and there had been a lot of controversy about the team. Run at a pontiac. Lemons in the nineteen eighty-one daytona. Five hundred and then came the race itself sunday. The car was just incredibly good and the crew. Chief said we can't leave the race because if we do. They're going to outlaw costs they're gonna outlaws anyway now. Saddam run a new. And i say see you gotta to stay back in the pack until till the end says back in the pack until really late in the race and Just had a couple of wheel marks on the side of the car guys. We're trying to raise for in and drafts and all that stuff. And so i said to the crew chief we need to go ahead and be leading because again that getting this thing torn up. He said we'll go ahead and do what to do. So i don out front. And we're sitting there. Smiling and ran out of gas ran out of gas. And i was supposed to painted with twenty one laps to go and it ran out of gas with nineteen laps to go. The crew chief decided not to call me in. How frustrating was that after after having such a good car. Well it was really bad and it was. It was even worse because it put me at odds where the crew chief and with you know with the race team and you know. I wanted to go raise. I wanted to go fast. And i wanted to win. But i didn't want to have to to be in a constant argon situation where the and the the crew chief blame the running out of gas on my lousy jesse setup used up all his guests. Yeah so you know it really It deteriorated our effort right from the very beginning. We had a year where won some races but we never never had good communication and never had a happy race team effort and attend the year. I left and then we talked about the split in episode fifty four. I know that bobby was particularly disappointed about that. Races wail and. I think that he's mentioned the kind of maybe hurt your relationship. Do you remember anything about that or no. I don't i don't remember any bad and anything over that. you know it. just one of them planes. You know that you know. I've always wondered back. What did we do wrong. Did we did. We don't figure the feel managed correctly they went. I'll get the gas in it without we did so many ups and then the next thing he was leading the race all time. So that's gonna run. Burn more fuel when your front breaking there yeah. I don't know any way wasn't meant for us to win. We didn't steve. You had a news feature in this issue about their parting of the ways bobby layman rainier racing and waddell wilson wa l. Said in this story. I'm not sure how the break-up came about sometimes you put your head down working hard and trying to win and you don't see things you should but i've heard it said that bobby and our arguing and feuding that we couldn't get along so help me. We never had the first crossword people actually think we were at each other's throats but that is not the way it has been now. Although bobby didn't specifically mentioned the controversy with the lemoyne's he still sounded pretty upset. In your story. Bobby said fill. This team has put forth more effort than any other team here. It did the work. Under unfair circumstances and under a state of confusion. It's like a guy working hard to dig a ditch. Delay a waterpipe to his house. He runs into rock but he cuts through it and keeps going. It gets halfway to his house and all of a sudden the water company comes along and says you can't dig that ditch unless you do it on the other side of the yard. There's no way that guy can dig another day each with the same enthusiasm now. If you read that quote today out of context you would think that. That team was in complete disarray. And that the season had just fallen apart. Bobby won five races with ranier racing in nineteen eighty one including the season opener and the season finale. Both of which came at riverside. The last five races of the year is worst. Finish was a fourth and he one or finished second in the other four now to top it off. He finished second to darrell by just fifty three points for the winston cup championship. My question is this this by what happened in the daytona. Five hundred with the lemoyne's and then him running out of gas. What might have happened if bobby had stayed with rainier racing i think they would have done very well. Like you said. Bobby won five races that year but when he talked about something being unfair h talking about the weight nascar leslie against grandma dotty at daytona and they kept altering the rules to alter the lemond and bobby was just not happy with that at all and neither was harry but i thought they overcame it nicely to the point where i was winning races. I don't think bobby. April forgot what nascar did and despite his victories i think he just did not want to be involved with the team any longer because he thought that team might be target. So bobby is out of the twenty eight car. Which left team owner. Harry rene looking for another driver for the next season and there was a separate news report in this issue that richard petty had talked to hair about joining his operation. Not eighty two. So there's food for thought. Well it led to the thought that. What's going on and pay enterprise that richard will want to leave the team and and you know as well as i do what happened just a couple of years later. It was gone tom for two full seasons. It was also reported in this story. That if richard didn't take the rod another candidate was mark. Martin and mark is talked about turn in that deal down in his podcast. So benny parsons started. The nineteen eighty two season with rainier racing but was released in favor of buddy baker midway through the year so richard petty and the twenty eight car. Mark martin in the twenty-eight car. I loved to read stuff like this. Just for the factor speed..

Mark martin Bobby richard five races harry mark darrell Martin Bobby allison today nineteen laps twenty-eight car Saddam twenty one laps benny parsons bobby Both second race richard petty second

The christmas cd has quickly plunged the nation into a double dip recession when investors learned at one time screen couple john travolta and olivia newton. John had reunited after thirty five years for an album of timeless christmas classics. Investors had no choice but to pull money for markets immediately. We were already on shaky ground with the collapse of the us subprime mortgage market and the reversal financial crisis in europe. Consumer confidence plummeted. After american saw the new album with a picture of travolta and newton john holding cups of hot cocoa. We believe that other countries find out the album features a christmas song that pays tribute to summer nights. We could be looking at a global contagion. This is the blackest day on wall street in two decades. Is the onion news network. You're listening to the best liberty oriented audio streamed around the clock on the air and online. This is the liberty radio network at l. r. n. dot fm. It's time for declare your independence with ernest hancock. And now they always from I'm sorry dale brown is from detroit. He's telling his story we're getting into the whys and what fours and damn commercial break so after this this Here we're going to go into after show and get the good good because there's a lot of phil- philosophical stuff going on here. You have to recognize not that you would be influenced by race. I don't care but the society. How do you deal with that. How do you cooperate it do you. Do you know what your solution here truth. Truth is the solution for nine out of ten of our problems. There is no such thing as race race was created racist scientists in europe. Which is why it's the word that it is. It's not a chinese word. If my african word is not a hindu it is the word from europe. It is a european word created by scientists. They were teaching pseudoscience around the idea that have caucasoid. Skull was superior by design from god. This is lies so you'll get your doctor. Johann bloomberg created the five races which nobody even knows what those are but nobody wants to be them. No one wants to be a caucus. Wait i promise you. Nobody wants to be a need royd. I promise you a away. Nobody knows what a cap weight is Australoid we got that australian. We can get that one and mongoloid. Please don't call asians mongoloid. That is not nice. It's not appropriate. But that is the five races now how we and then he said dr johann bloomberg german fake anthropology obviously said that the european brain are the caucasoid brain skull was superior. Because it's from any name david caucus oh a skull. Because it's from europeans in the bible. The beautiful white man is exact words. The beautiful white men in the bible are from the caucasus mountains so he will call this skull caucasoid. Now if you don't study history and we don't study truth then we actually don't know that that's insane so we'll continue to even use it because it's very calling people caucasians. Nobody wants to be called the caucus awaited. That's insane was called the negro. And but guess what black colored negro black colored negro what europeans want to call them cells. Because that's what our ancestors were told. We're african there's no such thing as a black colored or negro person but if you tell a person over seventy five years age they're black. They're offended if you tell a person who's under say seventy that they are a negro or colored. They're offended they wanna be black now. If you're under sixty they under sixty you want to be black. So here's what you are descendent of an african. It's okay now to not use those words that were created by corporations that indicated that someone was property of africans. I which by the way. They didn't call them black. Negroes africans still have a problem with enslaving africans. Right now twenty twenty. One is a very serious problem. Millions of africans are enslaved. I don't mean like digit servants. I mean as in you have no freedom and you are being tortured. Yeah we bombed libya and then the slave market. No no no no no sir. No sir no sir. Not even close all over the other parts of africa already. Okay what you're seeing in. Libya is what happened when mobile qaddafi allowed did not trust the The arab africans so he incorporated the darker nubian africans bodyguards and his trusted servants basically and then when they got when american. Cia helped They were able to deep to go in and give arms to the majority population. Which is the arab north african who then took revenge on the dark nubians that had all the privileges under muammar qaddafi. Own dale dale man. He's got a lot. We're going to definitely not even interim we're going in the after show. We'll get in all this stuff but we want to get back to detroit and you know and pinpoint you're doing because the only reason race comes into this is because it's made politically as a racial thing and i'm like it's not a racial thing. It's a civil human right thing and are using race as a justification for something. And i'm wondering how you're dealing well. How have always dealt with it first of all through truce. There's no such things race so once we realize fiction we can move forward. There is no burst of you. Look at your birth certificate. You're born after nineteen sixty eight northbound. No w p r n word on any of your stuff gay. There's no such thing as a cpa or see or w any of that crap and it's not on your passport. It's not in your driver's license. If you're a race and then was identified. it would be.

"Save mart three fifty s in raceway. One by kyle larson leading the line share the laps leading and winning both the stages and winning the race for the second time in as many races I'm starting to think that we might have an wanted to get your impression before we hear from kyle and his crew chief. Do we have the potential of another jimmy johnson. Kyle busch jeff gordon kind of talent on our hands right now mark. I don't think there's any question and it reminds me it hearkens back to the days gone. By when you would see. Mario andretti in a sprint car. On the thursday night driving indycar then heading to daytona to run a stockcar kyle. Larson is kind of cut out of that mold. Hill race. Anything anywhere and to be honest. I'm really surprised. Usually rick hendrick has pushed back on. That doesn't really want his guys doing anything else because it puts in jeopardy right the sponsorship and all the things that goes on as far as the cup series teams but part of his deal with kyle. Larson is like look you come to race for me. Your schedule is your schedule. Do what you think is right. And he is racing all over the place he's winning. He's in the groove. he's feeling it. And like i just said a few months ago. He's not that tall but right now. He's ten feet tall and bulletproof i. It's it's so funny that you mention that does because you know people might think to themselves. Okay you guys are getting out a little bit over your skis here. Comparing you know this this five race run or whatever to you. Know a seven time champion. But i'll say when. I was driving into the studio here tonight and i was listening to the broadcast the performance network. I thought to myself this is very jimmy. Johnson esque performance from from cal larson. And what he's had for the past three weeks. You talked to her five weeks. You talked earlier in the segment before about how you know back to back wins. Isn't that unusual. And it's not but he hasn't finished lower than second since hands us. I mean he has three second place finishes and then two wins in a row. That's five races in a row where he hasn't finished less than second. I mean that's incredible rick hendrick. Doug has really turned this whole thing around. Not only are the cars and the team itself better but at one point he had the oldest for driver lineup now. He's got one of the youngest and he is good for a while with all these young guys. They are going nowhere. you know. You will never read about william byron. Chase elliott kyle larson or alex bowman and the silly season news. You will not know. They're signed up and they're going as long as kendrick wants him. Where could you go. That would be better right now. The answer is nowhere at the end of all of this. We did get a chance to catch up with kyle larson and our headed. Abo- had a chance to ask him a few questions in victory. Lane and kyle larson winds here. His first road course win at his home track. You were dominant all day. You've had some notable victories in your career. Where would this one rank for you. It's definitely up there. I think every driver wants to.

"From otis for dot com and otis magazine. I'm arianna on this is that what is forecast. Wows why do we even start back you. It certainly delivered today with the race. Full of drama and fought break and ending with a very unexpected podium. Sergio perez claimed his fast red bull victory funded by sebastian battle with his first aston martin radium. Pa taking p. Three on a day when neither of the championship contenders scored any points. We saw two big accidents today causing end to racist of launched row and max western both incidents strikingly similar as they suffered from left. Rear tire failures giving rise to questions about those parental tires. The race ended up being incredibly manic. And i think it's safe to say that none of us could have predicted how today played out. And i'm joined by jonathan noble might spoil dot com f. one editor and jess mcfadden director of district strachey for export network. Thank you for joining may. Now before we get into the race recap. Let's kick straight off with your ratings jess. Yeah it's always. It's always hard to go straight into a rating the race like best because the so much unpack and where we get insane. Events happening then. Don't want to just go based on the sensationalism of big crashes and things. You wanna go a little bit more and go. Actually how good. This was this race as a race and those a lot of talk right at the beginning of the fact that when hamilton's got the lead over leclerc that it was going to be really boring and kind of like a management set procession to the to the line but us no week goal so there was a lot going on and see we did have the instance that we had a much. I think i'm going to give it an eight point. Five ten k. I think it was. I think it was. I think it was good. But i think without without the taya complications it could have been a little bit more of a straightforward rice even though themes the first initial pitstops were interesting and we had lots of things going on and it kind of it was starting to settle until we had launched stroz blow out and all it all changed totally changed. But i guess that's the nature of back like we know this stuff can happen backer but until that point it was kind of going into a bit below for me and then it it kicked off so i wanted to kind of like could come out and just ten because i'm still living on a high right now of everything that's happened but i think having gone away and had think about it i'm going to give it a solid eight point five not still strong gusts very strong john a you on the same wavelength of the difficulty of giving ratings like this. Is you have a sensation race. Then the next race is better than if you give one more point. Then you end up giving five races down the road you have to give thirteen points out of ten for some. So you quite gas. And i'd love to have to give thirty now. Tend to some races. Quite carefully awarding high points. I think we've out the without the verstappen tire. Blowout and without the louis instant would have been a much less spectacular race Body was it was good quite rarely. Do you get an opening phase to race where No one's able to break away basically the unpredictability of the undercover the over the strongest. And then obviously the red flag drama fat So good but there were equally a phase where it looks like it's going to be a straightforward ripple one two with louis third vet'll forfeit ghastly fifth. So it wasn't. It wasn't building up took a chandelier. We had in bahrain for example where the race was coming alive and really uncertain could go either way and if you re run it you wouldn't be sure what would happen side I've not sure if eight point five but it's more than more than a seven do important. Five's we'll do. I feel like you should be allowed. Maybe i'll give it seven point five just because if if it'd been a class of battle potentially between the leaders say peres max louis. They were fighting more for the win down. Think you'd elevator into the layer of eights. So i'm going seven point five. I am quite easy. Pleased if they even raise his monaco. I quite enjoyed so lost. People activated it so my my bar is quite quite low. Can you bought your bars quite and yet you're gonna give seven point four the low-powered i'm quite heart of master. Say about you arianna. Did you give it right. So i'm i'm going to go in the middle of uta. I'm gonna say an eight. Because i agree. I think the the drama of it definitely elevated it and allowed the race to unravel away. It did but had not been for those fake instance. I think we wouldn't have actually seen much more as you guys have said so. I'm going to go in the middle for eight. I think it was super exciting. Really really exciting. And i cannot predict it on wrapping like that. Atl which i know from a race. And i love back. Yeah definitely a little bit by staff but for anyone who may have missed the race all might just want to relive the How exactly did it go down. While off the line charlotte i held onto the lead but on lap three to pass the ferrari to take the lead and before long bike ride bose also made their way to the class who dropped back to fourth. Hamilton was the fastest three to pit on lap. Thirteen how briefly as gazi was let past. Meanwhile the southbound put in a strong in and the red bulls able to take advantage of hamilton's delay meaning the stop stopping rejoined from his pistol. Four seconds ahead of hamilton. Paris pit the following lap and managed to come out with pits ahead of hamilton. Meanwhile off the salting p eleven to was also making up places and after his pitstop online eighteen he came out behind in p. seven on lap. Thirty one disaster struck when launch drought had been on a lowest in on the hard tyres experience select retire fadia crashing into the wu on the main straight and bringing out the safety car and a close pit lane off to the safety. Cauvery stop continued on top form overtaking.

"Papa morales everybody popho. Good morning we have. I look at the The last five races of the card for tomorrow and also the last five races the cards for for saturday. You know whether is probably gonna play an issue. We'll have to see how the track is gonna come back And how it's going to be ready to host for that seven race. I mean i think the track is fast. I think you can lean heavily on a fire but if it's not been thinking go a number of different directions and honestly. I don't think there's a ton of speed in this race. no. I'm not a lot of early and i know he's got off track form and he's a number but You know if it's not tackle. Just say i like four or five six four american power from a speech standpoint like looking at Looking at bikinis on on and off. Track and i liked his last race. And then i kinda liked to wicked trick grand second album. Dr post and that was coming off. I mean the horse ran Seven days before it still ran second to To dr postal for For linda rights and also has proven improving form on on an off track So i like four or five if detractors. Ready anything but fast. I tomorrow in the seven. No and if it's you know if the rain does come and if the track is too wet I saw i mentioned earlier. Keli breen probably about seven thirty this morning when when his forces came out including forensic and he said he doesn't have a plan b. Actually he said there's not another prominent sprint that you know that he can just pivot to you know in the next couple three weeks so as long as the track is a sea of slop. I think he's gonna run. But then you've got then you've got a different set of conditions to evaluate and this is. This is a little bit of a of an extra problematic issue. Given that you got the true north. The sprint double To you know to tie to Saturday and it's the first race of the six races in the twenty cent pick six. So there's a lot kind of hanging on the on the track conditions and you know forensic fires involvement. I think more time up until post time tracks all the track. I wouldn't definitely wouldn't finalize any- opinions day And you know. Luckily if you're using the win with the click of a button you can just look at how the horses on on tracks rated other than bath so That's just another element to vote in you. Moving along the a once again. I was kinda looking at track not rated bath and i like the Parksix seven with. I the horse. It is intriguing. Is our excuse me five five. Six eight Eight more on. I think the last few races have been pretty darn good And it. It's going to be probably a higher price than some of the others in here I kind of like avenue but formed win. Pushed pushed her down a bit. They're not saying interesting when But she was one of the prices that That gonna trying to chop nine to five but unfortunately chubb wagon. Was one of those dual qualifiers did both on equity base and formed. The win. got us that. He's the favorite here. Also and she just thinking back to pimlico to i mean she was she was top chart In the ski pat. I mean it's nice when it pushing the price down but when you try to a point you're trying to beat the morning favorite and then you look on your shoulders and she's ranked And the top and i. You know. I'm not going to get beat by the beker outright. From a win standpoint that i'll include her on the maltese. And that takes a steve the to new york a mile and a quarter on turf. Which i'm sure will not be rated fast. Did you rated good already today. Or it's good today right now starting out. Yeah so. I don't anticipate a lot of drying out So good at at maybe best tomorrow and This is a this is tricky race. Even i know it's part of that two dollar pick four which i'm really interested in i do like harvey little oil And some questions about if she can get the mile and a quarter. She was actually closing pretty decent. In the breeders cup. Classic go two mile and three sixteenths. I think you gotta use her. Of course i think you gotta use the The invader thundering nights. For joseph. O'brien and then i'm also can use the to virginia joy. Chad brown on i read. Rt's i watched the last week to replace us about or four of the links that she would really never ask. She wanted little bit geared down She's proven off lasix and She's going to be well. I don't know he'll tend to one but she'll be higher than some of the others in here. Well you know and bring me to To a question that Fits in here with the joseph runners. How're we when we looking when we're looking at form to win Rankings and and you know whatever changes we make like for instance i just added yielding With the you know at the prospect of it being less than less than it's going to be less than firm. I mean at the very least there's going to be cut in the ground That seems where you know. Seemed certain but what do we do about a horse like thundering nights and the other international runners that that the system does really not have scores for a more. Have a equa figure. It will have a form to win time. So it's like. I said i was playing around with filters for for a mile and a quarter race. I usually look at amount. Nathan puerto but Actually run a little bit further. So if you just look. I actually just looked ten for and up. And then you've got a limited sample size so you can look at between nine and ten or ten enough but if you look at ten and ob- It's virginia join. Thundering nights one to Mainly because some of the other ones don't have samples. I haven't gone that that ten along but it does have the a average four the one time. Another thing you have to consider speed is when these uris come over. Didn't running on deeper ground overseas so that affects the The times of they're obviously going to be as fast as if they run on.

six races new york saturday two mile Nathan puerto today Saturday seven race Chad brown ten tomorrow nine Eight Six twenty cent last week first race joseph two dollar five races

"Top 49 times, how many times over the top three Five times because we did we did a thing actually did a block a little while ago and we were looking at drivers that the drivers with the best records that had run in five races or more. And then I thought, Well, you got guys that have been the top 35 times, and Ted Horn was the only guy that was in the top 35 times and never won, however, how many times did he finish in the top two, once another contemporary of Horn was the great Rex Mays, one of the superstars of the 19 forties. Mays was a picture on the front roll, but was one position away from landing on the Borg Warner Trophy. I was thinking, probably That if you were to say who were the greatest, who were the most deserving winners that didn't win? I'm not too sure that I wouldn't put Rex Mays first, Abby it up with all the respect to the other guys, and I think a lot of people would a swell And the fact that he He left so many I mean, he was He was young. Uh, on a handsome and and very outgoing, So I mean, he was a he was a unease E hero. Because he's 22 23 24 years old and running, you know, leading the thing. But he ended up he ran in 12 races. He led nine But the latest that would she ever lead was lap 99. He never let a single lap in the second half, but that was because he Had a problem. You know, either blew up or or, you know, last time getting a problem fixed. He started from there. It was on the pole four times. And I know that doesn't sound like much now. But back then that was a big deal is on the front row seven times. And then in In 40 he second behind Wilbur Shaw, and I don't know that there was any You know, we didn't have to make like a lengthy pit stop, I think sure you know clearly won the race. But with May 2nd and being so popular And then he comes back. The next year to finish second again to the four day was Mauri Rose combination, and so when you you know, when you look at that thing, well, golly Harry Hearts was second three times and didn't win. This guy was only Price. But again, I think, even to this day if you give it to the historians, um many of them would put Rex Mays right at the top still become the Tinley Park expressed pioneers the Rideshare program on the way to his best finish at the Brickyard. And the Clown Prince of Racing just misses the top spot in one of the great duels and speedway history. This is heroes of the 502nd one A 93 w i. B. C This is what's happening. "Racing at indiana grand kicks off at two twenty five The second leg is a second level allowance. Go in three quarters. Yeah and got to two favorites in here. I made one six two five afforded verse and and the the six keeping a classy and made him eight to five Visited verse coming off a good series of races at turf way on synthetic he has won on the dirt in the past. And i think that's important. I'm not going to downgraded for that and Vivid versus you know could be doesn't like the lead but he's more of a stocker mid pack type a horse and You know continuous You know Claim the source to starts back towards is very popular in the clean box with four claims from his last five races last rates for the first time that he wasn't in for a claiming price so we couldn't be cleaned out of that race and So diverse i think finds a very good spot in here keeping it. Classy Won a couple of open allowance races. they're not a at indiana grant Last year one other than in two other than Then tried six. Competition didn't go very well and then Ran a little bit of a clunker But that was pretty good grace in october. The six the top three horses all came back to win a next time out. Still street for. I think it's amos Kirker upstream owns part of social streets. That was that race in october. The six in seoul streets not a bad horse at all so I think he's taking on easier as well in here. And then.

And that's now making me hungry however We still have more of a show to take care of and right now. We are going to hear from the reasoning daytona. Five hundred champion from front row motorsports. Because tom got a chance to catch up with mc driver. As he's affectionately known michael mcdowell this week to talk all things racing five races. In the hot start for mike mcdowell and the thirty four team and their outlook going forward into the remainder of twenty twenty one. Sit back relax. And here's michael mcdowell on the madness michael first of all. Congratulations from all of us with motorsports this on your big win. I believe that you would have to still be somewhat walking ten feet off the ground although obviously run some raisins since then and for the most part you guys are having a pretty good season this year. Talk about first of all what it was like to actually win the great american stock car race and talk about your season since. Then it's been you know like you said incredible when that eight hundred and you know just to the sports for a very long time and to you know dream of getting the victory lane and the finally do it and to have it be the you know the biggest race of of our season of our downward daytona five hundred. It was you know. It's all a bit overwhelming. And but it's been amazing and it's been yeah just a great experience you know for the team and for my family. It's you know it's been on the real and and like you said he About the same time you load up the next week and you gotta go racing in unfortunately for us. This season has gone well. And you know. We kicked off those first three races with top tans and So it's it's been a great start the season not just because of the wind. But you know at the speed that we've had in our race cars and just The momentum that we've been able to build and So yeah it's been you know it's it's what you dream of hope to come out the gates and have a strong start. You know to get locked in the playoffs early and to do all those things you know so early on in the season it's been pretty awesome has winning the five hundred changed your strategy at all in terms of how you've approached the races since then because i know we hear talk all the time about getting a win early in the season allows you to maybe experiment more and try some different things during the season. Because you're already in the playoffs. And then of course there are other teams. That say we'll know a every play. I'll point every stage points important. You can't really Get too far out left field right. How has it changed your approach with your team at front row. You know. i think it's given us a little bit of flexibility. But i you know i would probably lean towards the second part where you know every race matters and every point matters and you wanna run. Well i think that you do. You can be a bit more aggressive with strategy. Maybe some setup but at the same time you're not going to go in with something really unproven tribe just because you know with no practice and and no qualifying you just. There's no opportunity to to fix you know if you if you do miss it and so i think you know i don't wanna say it eliminates but there's limited amount of opportunities where you can get outside of the box with the schedule on so you just try to make every weekend count and score as many points as you can now looking ahead at the schedule. Of course we've got a dirt race coming up in a week or so and then you've got a number of new road courses this year. That aren't normally on the cup schedule. I look at it. This looks like an opportunity for michael mcdowell to win some more races here with a road courses and of course you got the superspeedway still to come when you look at the schedule. Do you guys feel confident that We may be able to sneak thirty four car back in victory lane again before. The season's over. Yeah i mean definitely think that you know the schedule. Lynn's it's hand us but like you said with you know with road courses and in being new venues and at new road courses at exciting for us and and we still have some great racetrax schedule you know with with three more super speedways your you know so when we looked at twenty twenty one. Democrats are now unlikely to win a majority in the Senate: Here's where things stand

"Republicans are enjoying a much better election than anticipated. Republicans are now poised to maintain their majority in the Senate. I just received a very gracious call from Sara Gideon conceding the raise voice of Republican Senator Susan Collins, speaking earlier today in Maine, a state that Democrats had considered a must win to have a chance at flipping the Senate. No. In the House Republicans are expected to pick up seats shrinking the Democrats majority down to single digits for more on this NPR congressional correspondent Susan Davis is here. Hey there, Sue what went wrong, so to speak for Democrats? Yeah, I mean, it's been a complete reversal of fortune for Republicans down the ballot. There had been this widespread confidence that Democrats were going to take over the Senate that they could gain as many as six or seven seats. And that Democrats were poised to grow their majority in the House by as many as 10 to 20 seats. Obviously, not if that happened. I think the one thing everyone is pointing to right now is just how wrong the Poles were. I think in that main Senate race that's a great example. The Democrats Sara Gideon, she led in public polls all year long and yet still fell far behind in the race. I talked to election analyst Sean Trendy this morning, and he told me that polling simply did not account for Trump's support that a significant number of Trump voters just were never accounted for. Those are the exact people that when you hear a phone call in the person says Hi, I'm from the New York Times. Would you take it all? Just go click. I think it is that straightforward. I also talked to Democratic Congressman Ami Bera of California today, and he said that the polling was way off from where it was in the 2018 midterms. And that's when Democrats won. He basically told me he just thinks Democrats couldn't account for the effect that Trump has when he himself is on the ballot. While it looks like Republicans will hold their majority in the Senate, Not all races have been called. Can you tell us what still outstanding? Yeah, There's still five races that haven't been called 47 have been called for Democrats 48 for Republicans won were watching really closely Is Michigan. There's a Democratic incumbent there. Gary Peters. He's running narrowly behind a Republican John James. Obviously, what could be a pickup opportunity for Republicans. North Carolina remains really tight, but incumbent Republican Senator Tom Tillis is leading. You know, that was always seen as a state that was critical to the majority. So if Republicans hold it, I think that's one of the reasons why they seem to feel pretty secure. Right now. Alaska hasn't been called, but I don't really see any reason there to think it's going to be a Democratic pick up and Last one's Georgia. There's two Senate races there. One of them is going to go to a January runoff, and it's quite possible. The other one where it's held by incumbent Republican David per two, might be able to hold it off and win it out, right. Given that there are some races that are going to be uncertain, at least for the next few days does that What does that mean for the Senate majority? It does, and you know, depending on how Georgia goes, it could take quite some time. North Carolina in particular, could be tight and could be subject to court challenge. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke to that reality earlier today in Kentucky. You can anticipate in close elections, Both sides will be lawyered up and we'll end up in court. It's happened over and over and over again. Nothing unusual, and I do want to see her. I think McConnell has a point, and it's worth focusing on that. I think a lot of people are really nervous about what's gonna be happening with Balan challenges. It's really not uncommon, especially in Senate races to go through court challenges. Before they're certified. It happens almost every election year. That's NPR congressional correspondent Susan Davis. Thank you. You're welcome.

At the Races With Nick Tammaro

"Churchill getting started would bind with they're the first really too big weekends they also course got the international later in the meet later in the fall and and that brings in some international shippers this woodbine mile just the mile either northern dancer the more you look at it. I thought was was was intriguing and there's plenty of other a lot of stars on the card including Holy Khaleda and pink Loyd. WHO's I I for a horse? That's one like twenty seven in a row. Nobody seems the talk about him or pay much attention to him. Bob Tillers streaking sprinter and here's a streaking sprinter victim Rio depends on where the sprint destination is. I think might Tapei at times but shop racing form a yes to the windows. Definitely Pink Floyd is is really sort of a marvel in terms of how he's performed well routinely I of course needed him to at least be third in this race last year in the contest and finished fifth so the pink floyd stop it will be nowhere near Wreck Stale Ontario and so his chances tomorrow we'll probably increase exponentially. He's in the early. They put the bold venture early on the card actually in fact when I went to the stakes together and put them up Derby Trail Oh. I didn't even look that that early on the card so I didn't even have to go back in fact I don't know if I did go back and put it up but there are a couple couple of very nice horses here including Carlin's honor the Jack Oxley Breezy York good old Yordan approaching half a million dollars for a chiefs would and Stewart Simon you know a lot of your a lot of your local players in the sprint scene but pink Cloyd is now twenty one twenty six and it really was late last year September October that he started to show some some frings signs of tiring and Kinda sputtered out at the end of the year could. Could he be beaten in here. I don't think so no it looks like he's he's back where he needs to be and I don't really know I guess other than Caroline's honor who's supposed to be particularly big threat to him in the spot so he he should get the job done. I mean it's always nice to see good. Horses do Well York than obviously was in much better form coming into this last year having run a good second pink Floyd Royd individual and and that was also during a period of time where pink floyd was having a really hard time getting out of the gate so he's a little ornery for a seven year old gelding and he had a little bit gate trouble really about four or five races in a row going into last year's bold venture he he's not he still not they really particularly the obedient or when it comes to getting out of the gate or being trained for it but he's definitely a little bit better spot with that right now so I think given that he's he's inform and should be sitting right off of the of the pace. If you worked in may be line to the front end. I think he should be okay before we talk about the Canadian the end the grade to which does start the cross country and will incorporate the pebbles and the nightcap at Belmont Nixon thoughts about last week at Belmont. We talked about this Jockey Club Derby and oaks and the Grand Prix. I talked to Andy on Tuesday. The Grand Prix was oddly contest than I thought but some some quick hits on opening the opening salvos at Belmont. I guess guess I'll try and keep it as charitable as possible. Given I took my shots at it last week but I think they played out largely. How we expected decide thought was a pretty impressive winner of the Jockey Club oaks overcoming? I think by all counsel was a pretty negative pace setup and winning is much the best running down Wonderman who I thought probably got a little bit more the run of the race and the American contingent as we expected in that race as well as the Jockey Club Derby were pretty much no shows and it could also be that the American continuing is pretty thin out by now. We'll talk about the pebbles and a little bit but the pebbles is going to be the ninth race for one hundred thousand dollars or more for three year olds fillies on turf going back to June sixth six and that's insane so the ranks of American horses that are ready to go a mile and three eighths early in September. We're really not very not very robust and and that proved out on the lady side and I thought Spanish mission I I actually thought he was totally out of position and thought that he was about to have a Jamie Spencer Special before he was able to overcome it and get the job done so a little bit. I know that the horse was capable of overcoming his writer. I I would imagine he he should be one of the better distant sources that we could potentially see over here next year given that he's going to be off now until the spring and there's just obviously connections that have problems shipping over the Grand Prix North American Jockey Club invitational brought to you by whatever most pretentious name of all time that was one of the most oddly run races I've ever seen first of all. I don't know how the hell everybody knew. Marconi was winning that race for fun and then to watch the riders of both realm and roaming union gather a hold of their horses so strongly almost as if they were waiting for Marconi to catch up and take the lead after he blew the break so that he could go one sixteen flat it was basically sort of the epitome of what we complain about left and right about American American dirt racing right now and you know in this day and age of sort of turf occasion of American racing where everybody points to turf races races are run like turf races. It's almost as if one horse makes the lead all the other guys say okay well. They're the pacesetter we're just GONNA go ahead and sit back and wait for them to come back to us and the majority of the time on the dirt that just doesn't happen even so shockingly Marconi was able to set a pedestrian pace and and went on with it and I I obviously would not have been a big fan of his at the price he went off often. We talked about how it looked like a bit more competitive race on paper the other todd pletcher trainee your to blame. I thought ran pretty well. He was able to stop the pace on the inside but you know I don't y horse like roaming union was in there if he wasn't GonNa GonNa contest the pace especially given that he's from connections like Michelle Navin who generally have a pretty decent idea how to win dirt racist so that was is a little bit of a head scratcher. you know look my personal opinion is that if there's any thought given to this turf triple. I really hope that same amount of money is committed to a dirt program and trying trying to incentivize horsemen to get there and run on dirt more frequently really try and build up the claiming ranks again because it's kind of embarrassing through the first three days of racing. I'm I'm sorry through the first three days of Racing Belmont there were seventy eight horses total entered to run on dirt and there are over seventy eight horses enter to run dirt in the first day at Churchill so I if the same number number of races and and that's that's not good. That's a big big problem that creates a big problem in the winter so that's my hope for it as it is. I guess we'll see probably a little bit better from Spanish mission in the Diese Lisa next year well we turn to Belmont today and into the weekend a couple of very good maiden races actually as part of that card and maybe we'll touch on them but let's let's look at the cross country pick five and it is comprised of of the three three of the stakes would bind the Canadian the mile and the northern dancer that you know you the top of your head. You wouldn't have thought it the three of them were as complex as actually I think they are and then the pebbles and the turf sprint claiming nightcap the eleventh at Belmont so let's start with the Canadian you know this is an interesting field the and really they'll competition. Idea should probably go off a pretty solid favorite. I don't really see how tactically you could make a real stand with her and she's a horseshoe. Obviously needs to lay back and make one run and you know those types generally at the mercy of the pace and this race does not look like it's going to have really any pace speak of so so she's going to have to overcome that now. I will say that you'll Rosario getting back on board to me feels like a very good thing. It does seem like she's just a little bit better horse when he's John Her but now the flip side of that is that we know Joel style. He's GonNa take her back and let her make one run so I mean they're they're going to. There's going to have to be some pace in here that you can't really foresee and I guess the hope is that Dixie moon and or starship do believe maybe show a little bit more speed than they have before. That's if you're back competition of ideas with any great fervor because obviously what this is shaping up as a situation where Holy Helena has a big tactical advantage on the other favorite and and she's been effective at Woodbine in the past. You look good winning the dance smartly last time Jimmy was giving a little bit of time since and I think she's a horse that that will really get the run of the race and and that's GonNa make her toffee. This could be a situation where on your your pick five. You're really leaning on those two pretty heavily and maybe you could give a little bit of a nod holy Helena on one one more additional ticket. I did want to try and make a case for to Riga and my hope is the Tyler Galileo. Maybe a little bit more aggressive with her than Johnny. Velazquez was was last time he finished just length and a half behind the competition of ideas did get into a little bit of trouble amazingly. She got into trouble in the three-horse rates which it happens of course and with a little bit cleaner run maybe second off the off the layoff off the ship in we can see some improvement grim oceans been a little the little laid back with her she she ran on July twentieth didn't work until August thirty first but might be one of those horses that can stay fit without doing that. I I'm always very very in tune and was looking at his horses in these kind of scenarios as they they generally overperform relative to their odds so I'm GonNa go ahead and include Theresa's well the and will include could starship jubilee more than likely those two has backups because I think they each offers some appeal at what should be better prices than the two chalks should note that ah Jimmy Jerkins after sending Holy Elena opt for the dance smartly basically is as left her there and oh my Gosh the stronach trainer but my Woodbine what is yes thank you Mike Doyle. Mike Doyle has been handling and Jimmy is on TV with seth deny after after precision is one and he told the story about Jimmy said he got the notification is it is stable mail all that Holy Helena had worked Labor Day weekend and so gets the notice he opens it up and Airy Jerry Sees Holy Elena six longs one eleven and three Jimmy said got on the phone to this is Mike what's going on up there and he said I really don't worry though or she did it easy. Did it easy the track was the polly was slick. It was cold or whatever yeah what eleven at three and you know what I did. I brought up with Jimmy that great story that is his father told about Bo purple and going out to Hawthorn for the Hawthorne Gold Cup on Tuesday the race as was Saturday and on Tuesday he gets a call from a Chicago sportswriter and said Jerkins. I wanted to ask you for comment about outvote purples work and said what about it. He says well he he he went a mile in one thirty. Two and three Korea broke the track record or mile. I think he went to violent at eight and broke the track record. What what forty seven forty six shades or something and and and Jerkin said you know? I'm sure he'll be fine and sure enough. He went out and won the Gold Cup but that was funny. One one eleven and three

Welcome to brainstorm a production of iheartradio. Hey, brain stuff, Lauren Vogel bomb here. If you've ever watched a police procedural, you've probably heard a description of a suspect that goes, something like this. The suspect is a six foot one hundred and eighty pound Caucasian male wearing a white t shirt jeans, and so on, but what does Caucasian really mean, it's easy, of course, to acquaint Caucasian with white, but that one word Caucasian touches on issues much deeper than skin color it kindles questions of race and the very origin of humans it even exposes the topic of whether race exists outside of our own weird minds. Spoiler in humans. No genetic basis exists to separate our species into races. We spoke with Joseph graves, a professor of nano engineering and the intern dean at the joint school of NATO science and engineering in Greensboro, North Carolina. He said there's no scientific justification for use of the term Caucasian. It's actually a nineteenth century INTERPOL logical idea that was based around a false conception of the origin of the human species. I was in the caucus mountains the caucus mountains run from the Black Sea to the west to the Caspian Sea on the east in an area, that's considered by many as the crossroads between eastern, Europe and western Asia. These mountain ranges two of them, the greater and lesser are due east of Italy due north of Iraq and do west of India. The southern tip of Russia. Lies to the north of the Caucasus mountains to the immediate South Georgia, a former Soviet Republic. This is where Caucasians true Caucasians. Call home people from Georgia rusher Azerbaijan and Armenia hail from that area. But Caucasians as I identified by German Interpal, just union Frederick bloom Bach, and as some still think of the group today lay claim to a lot more real estate than that in seventeen ninety five in the third edition of his book, titled on the natural varieties of mankind. Blooming book building on work by sweeter, scientists careless Lineas and others used the word Caucasian to describe one of his five races of man, he determined each through scientific. Methods like the measuring of skulls and tied each distinct. Geographic regions Caucasians were as Bloomberg presented them the white race and included people not only from the caucus region. But also those from Europe northern India and parts of northern Africa. The other groups Bloomberg identified tied loosely skin color were Malaysian native American and Mongolian though, Bloomberg found that the quote, many varieties of men are as present known to be one and the same species his work. Nonetheless was seen as giving scientific credence to the concept of biological race. Over the years that notion has been abused in order to separate groups of people often by skin color and to declare through some bastardisation of science the superiority of one race over others. Also years after Bloomberg scientists found that the earliest humans didn't come from the caucus, but from Africa in modern day, the opium. Copa classifying humans into races. Whatever boombox intentions continues today. The term Caucasian is still rolled out occasionally and not only on TV police dramas grave said I was just at a conference here in Minnesota where researcher from South Africa kept referring to herself and others in her country as Caucasians, I think it is very very much a white supremacist racist ideology, I think it has to do with your Centric, racial ideology. People wish to hold onto the special designation exemplified by this term Caucasian beyond Caucasian. The US census bureau has its own definition of race, quote, a person self-identification with one or more social groups and asks respondents to choose from its own categories, white black or African American Asian American Indian and Alaska native native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander. The census allows those survey to choose some other race as well the census bureau's definition of race, but it self identified and based on social groups. Is different than blooming box in that. It's notably social not scientific and supports the now widely accepted finding that race is not something that supported by science genetically speaking someone can't be of the white race or the Caucasian race or the Mongolian race. We are of one species, according to the national human genome research institute, humans are ninety nine point nine percent identical in genetic makeup. Gordon hudson. A professor of psychology at Canada's Brock university explained in psychology today. Scientists generally do not recognize races biologically meaningful yet scientists including me discuss race and described the racial composition of our samples to be clear. I'm not advocating that we ignore race. In fact, there are many dangers ignoring raises a social topic race's real but race is socially real not biologically real. Yet, the term Caucasian despite its problems has proven stubbornly resilient, some people perceive it as being more scientific or dispassionate than saying white. Even though the exact opposite is true based on the words origins from a proven Lee incorrect hypothesis and later used to perpetuate prejudice in two thousand four graves wrote a book called the Ray Smith. Why would pretend race exists in America from the introduction? Quote. We must recognize that the underlying biological diversity of the human species cannot be artificially portioned into races because races are simply not biologically justified. If we can understand that all allegiance to racism is ideological not scientific then we may be able to silence. The biggest once and for all. Early voting in 2018 midterms is breaking records

"In the Vada twenty-five thousand young voters who have cast a ballot early that is also a five times higher given the fact that as a group young people tend to be more liberal, in fact considerably more liberal than the population as a whole is that bad news for. I'm not sure you would think on the surface that's number. But also more Republicans are very voted early than before. And overall is great news for the country. They say on pace Jacqueline with the population proportion. We're going to the best best midterm turnout since nineteen forty. So if you're gonna have a democracy and be the beacon of freedom is showed up the boat. We have not been great at that as a country. So that's good news. You know, the conventional wisdom is big a very high turnout Democrats, very low with the Democrats, very it'd between good for the Republicans. I I just don't know anybody that thinks it's gonna flip. I know a lot of people I guess conventional thought is that the house will. But I don't know four hundred thirty five races individually. I don't know who's attached to their congressman or woman, I know that the Republicans to make it easier themselves with forty plus retirement. And I'll be Paul Ryan did much for the Republicans as Wayne duck speaker. He was raising money. I didn't see it nor have I seen anything done about healthcare. And I'm afraid the Democrats are gonna pound Republicans with that. Does the healthcare issue bother you? Is totally screwed that up. We skinny repeal replace no deal. I don't blame physics for that. At all. Because you know, he, you know, he was a businessman. He took over here about how bad ObamaCare was how sixty five year old being forced to paper for birth control devices. You know, how how much the premiums are how they offer any type of affordable alternative how bad ObamaCare was those actors wanted to stay it. And it was so bad that frock Obama didn't run on it. Now, he's actually talking about a great thing. Because Republicans totally screwed it up instead of coming up with a new plan will make this one better tearing it apart trying to make it better with no cohesive. No cohesive message on it.
