Goldman Sachs AI Day Expectations

"Robin our here. And today we're going to be talking about a couple of analysts. Updates one from goldman sachs about their expectations for a day. I think those are kind of helpful. Just to get a sense of what institutions are expecting for events like that then we've also got a bit of an update on that yuan. Musk source city. Trial some news out of china and a couple of stores as well bit of a tougher day for tesla again. Today though the stock did recover some in the afternoon ended up finishing down about three percent. Six hundred and sixty five dollars. Seventy one cents. The nasdaq was also down today. Nine tenths of a percent. So i know feels like a rough week for tesla. But it's been kind of a rough week for all automakers looking at a handful here you can see. Gm down six for instilling tests down about four and a half percent. Volkswagen in neo down seven percent expand down six percent average across the board of those down six percent so desolate spent a little bit worse. But not really all that much especially given the context of the nitsa investigation as the interest from that fades from earlier. this week. Everyone is going to be turning their attention to a idea of course scheduled for this thursday. It'll be five. Pm pacific time eight pm eastern time. I do believe tesla intends to livestream it. We don't have those details yet. But i think eli had previously said that they would though i can't find that tweet at the moment i'd be shocked if they didn't and also plan on live streaming as well so as i mentioned goldman sachs last night. Put out a note with their expectations for a day and in their introduction. They did note that this is going to be a purposeful recruiting event. So hopefully that stands from tesla has kind of cut through to most investors and. I think that really helps to keep expectations a lot. More realistic in terms of what was going to be talking about as goldman sachs. They expect hustle to talk about five key topics which they outlined in this note. I they say they expect us to discuss its. Ai neural net now strained. I would agree. That is something that we've heard tesla talk about both at autonomy day and then if you followed andrea carpathia presentations. He's talked a lot about those sort of

"Media that I think you'll find yourself if you ever produced content in this content Production, conservative media space podcast TV show radio show. If you ever find yourself in here, I'm gonna warn you now. I mean, some of you listening who are in this space can attest to this and probably nodding your heads. Some of your worst enemies will not be the liberals. You know, you expect them their death threats and all their other stuff that you know, you just get that's part of the business. You develop a thick skin to that quickly. They're liberals. You just learn to just ignore it. You do? You will. You won't even pay attention to it. What's really going to get into your skin, though, however, are some of your so called friends. Because they're on Twitter and they want to retweet or want to do a click bait article will throw you under the bus in a second, without even giving you the courtesy to be able to speak and say what you're going to do to correct the situation or if the situation can be corrected, how you're going to respond. They're not interested in that at all. They just felt like they could throw in a headline. Something like thereby generate is too short. Okay? You want to hear what I have to say about? No, No, We're not interested at all. All right, let's fair enough. That's odd, too, because you get people like you know, one of those like Todd Starnes for something on Twitter. Tesla Teases AI Day and Partnership With Famed Roboticist

"Let's talk about this news on. Ai day overnight. We got this tweet from dr dennis. Hong who is a professor at ucla and the founding director of their robotics and mechanisms laboratory. Anyway he tweeted out. This photo of some beautifully rendered computer hardware. Sang tusla a day. August nineteen twenty twenty one at palo alto california five. Pm pd so we had a date now. Looks like we also have a time and a location for ai. And we're left to speculate on what this hardware is and why dr hung is tweeting this out. Dr hong certainly enjoyed stirring up that speculation. He's got a number of tweets. Replies here as well as likes on other tweets that have encouraged speculation. I would say one of his first replies since that original tweet was to question asking if the ucla lab was now associated with tesla and fasd. Aung san can't say anything just yet with a couple of playful emojis at it. Of course we've seen tesla partner with academic labs in the past for research. Great example of that on the battery fronts being with jeff. Don somebody brought that arrangement up and reply and harm replied to that saying dot dot dot or something else dot dot dot blowing a kiss emoji if we dig back a little bit further we can actually see that this tweet that does have this photo rendered in. It isn't the first time he's talked about his involvement with tesla. It does go back a few days prior. So i found this tweet from july twenty ninth and it's in korean but it doesn't include another post from hong. I believe on a different social media platform. That's also in korean. So i translated the immature. But you can see hong talking about the secret project that he's involved in with tesla. Apparently there was supposed to be an announcement scheduled for the twelfth of august and that he's finding out via twitter that it's delayed till the nineteenth referencing eons tweet where he announced the date for at

Absolutely. That number again is 844580 wdbo 8445809326844580 Wdbo. Andre. What kind of things do we have in the tech world to talk about today? Well at the bottom of the hour will be going into our three big things in tech, including changes coming to Microsoft blue screen of death in the pet and didn't connectivity between the human mind and computers. And also why some popularly used apps may have ended up compromising your social media passwords, of course, more about these interesting topics at the bomb of the hour when we get to our big three things in the tech world. But of course I want to start today show we're talking about the importance of, uh, being able to get quality reconditioned commercial Quitman. The keyword is commercial equipment. Over the choices that you see in the big box stores with consumer model products that aren't built to as high of a pedigree. Sounds like a good idea, Chris. I think so. Absolutely. Alrighty. Well, of course, as you know, back to school is going to be starting back up in just a month or so. And of course, businesses have been getting back in the full swing with a lot of people returning back to their office environments. We also have a lot of families there just in need of a good Meyer computers for the home. And so, of course, many times when people think I needed new computer I'm going to go to that big box store with a pretty red or blue building and I know what they have an electronic section. They must know all about computers. I'm going to go over there thinking I'm going to get a really good deal on something. Um, But here's where the gotcha happens many times these machines that you see at the big box store in these inexpensive 223 $400 price range. They're not really going to win too well. Unfortunately, as many of these loans systems have slower, lower and processors like Athlon ones. Pentiums sell Iran's These machines are going to run very, very slowly. I'm sorry to say and a lot of times these budget machines also have very little storage capacity. And then on top of that consumer model computers just aren't necessarily made with strong of hardware components. In general, they're not really made to laugh. They're just pushed, pushed out for mass market get you the cheapest thing on the shelf possible. They might have pretty colors, but they might not hold up. So of course. Uh, what do you do when you find yourself looking at products and like I'm I'm has to be having second thoughts about these machines. They're not going to run well, they're not going to be reliable. You're just going to cost me money unnecessarily. What do I do? Well, here's the answer. It's refresh computers. He has a refresh computers, the systems that we have our commercial grade systems. That means that these are computers that were manufactured to the highest standards and specifications for use in heavier duty environments. Such as businesses, companies, large enterprises, government entities and the like. So these machines are built for the rigors of everyday moderate usage. And of course, when the big these big organizations go through their technology, refresh cycle every 3 to 5 years or so they surplus these systems out. And then we get them where we're able to wipe them clean them, refurbish them and test them and then load a fresh image of windows 10 to meet a like new standard and, of course, backing them by our own in house warranty as well. So many times, Even though the computer might be a couple years older, they still meet all the latest relevant mine standards. They come with a genuine licensed copy of Microsoft's latest Windows 10 operating system. And then, of course, you end up getting a lot higher specification for your dollar. Including, uh, say if you're looking at the big box store to $300 might only get you an entry level system that same to $300 would get you a more mid range system. Such as a core I five or core I seven. They will run very, very smoothly for your everyday usage. We're going on the Web office and document tasks and we have complete system packages under $200 that would also include Keyboard, mouse and the monitor, and we also take.

"Yep. So, you know, the reason is the lawsuit was filed on Wednesday and the Trump administration followed a response on Thursday and CNN will file their, sir. Reply Thursday by five PM, which we are recording before that. And and. Then the court will will rule on Friday that is you know, the typical way in which temporary restraining orders get entered an immediate kind of turnaround. Hey, you've got to do this because we have a situation that is changing day by day. And we want you to preserve the status quo in in any complaint. What's the first thing that that that we do in reading a complaint down see who filed it? Yeah. We we we go to the very bottom. Right. So the bottom we see that. This was filed by Gibson Dunne and Crutcher one of the largest multinational law firms Covington like law firm, the home of among other things gene Scalia, Antonin Scalia is somewhat less talented son against to my squared off in the past. And and in particular, the lead partner on the the Gibson Dunne filing, not the working partner, the working partner and filed. This was Theodore Boutros, not somebody. I know the lead partner whose name appears on the pleadings and therefore played a role in the overall drafting of these briefs is Theodore be Ted Olson, former Bush, solicitor general, Ted Olson and probably the most prominent the most well respected. The most certainly the most highly compensated lawyer on the planet. Ted Olson is a conservative George W Bush era, Republican former solicitor general he has crossed over on a couple of issues in particular on some gay rights issues in the late two thousands early twenty tens the fact that his name appears on this is very very significant. And it is it is literally like if you wanted to draw number line where you know, one poll is written in a napkin in crayon and pink nail polish, and you know. You know, the the plaintiff is pro say the other end of that line is represented by Ted Olson. Yeah. I I mean, I was wondering what you're expecting. It's not like you're gonna find the earth law guy had plus based law. Guy we covered while presenting CNN. Yeah. I wasn't. Yeah. I would've just skip that part of it were me, but you wanna know who you're dealing with. I guess well and and look at big law firms like this, right? Like, I told you you know, I worked for Bobby burchfield. I was invited to participate in the two thousand recount efforts. I was invited to do work for the tobacco industry. Right. I did do work for the alcohol industry because like around that. But but right, but I didn't but I didn't do work for those other two clients, right? And there are other important clients over the years while I was Covington in particular where you know, to the extent that it had political sensitivities, the the firm always permits all of its lawyers to you know, kind of sign on or off of of of politically sensitive cases, Ted Olson. Is. Even if you didn't do that. Right. Like Ted Olson gets to call his shots. And so it is it's not just of course, CNN is represented by a top notch law firm. But but the fact that he wanted to take this case, I think is the significance of that. Yeah. Then what you do is you scroll back up to the causes of action. So this begins on page fourteen. I cause of action violation of the first amendment that seems to be pretty straightforward. The allegation is defendants initially claimed that they revoked Costas press pass because he quote placed his hands on an intern. That contention is not accurate as we talked about. The president himself has stated that Costa's on conduct was not quote, overly horrible and Kostas credentials were actually suspended because he failed to quote, treat the White House with respect and of quote, those justifications are hollow and hardly sufficiently compelling to justify the indefinite revocation of White House credentials the sole justify. Is there dislike for plaintiffs? Coverage of the administration that is insufficient to justify a restriction on plaintiff's first amendment rights..
