NYPD Cop Plotted Murder-for-Hire

"Valerie Cincinnati paid her boyfriend. Seven thousand dollars to hire a hit man and kill his teenage daughter and her husband but she had no choice. What was she supposed to do? Try and take them out herself. She was in New York City. Police officer that's a good way to get yourself fired or at least on desk duty but that was twenty nineteen and she's had to change apart since then after folding prison laundry for a year last month she really really tried to be released on bail using the corona virus as an excuse to get back in front of a judge because too but the judge had good reason to roll his eyes and refuse in the words of the. Us Attorney in Brooklyn. The evidence in this case is overwhelming. Hey I'm amy and every Sunday Wednesday. Were here recapping. The story behind a true crime headline so. Let's get to it Valerie. Cincinnati paid her boyfriend seven thousand dollars to hire a Hitman and kill his teenage daughter and her husband. Did you get that because I had to read it a few times before? I believe what I was saying. She paid her boyfriend to have her ex husband killed because she was deep into a custody dispute with him over their son and she wanted him dead so she didn't have to share her. Nypd pension or her son with him and she was paying her boyfriend to have her boyfriend zone. Fifteen year old daughter killed because she was getting in the way. What offering to pay for your boyfriend to have his own daughter killed. Seems like a real dating. Don't but apparently Valerie thought he'd be into the idea. He was not because after she outlined the plant he right away immediately told the feds started wearing a wire when he was with her allegedly because her trial hasn't started yet but allegedly her boyfriend. John Rubel took Valerie seven grand and used it to buy five ounces of gold coins to pay the Hitman gold coins. Remember the days when you could just hand hitman cash and they do the job now you got to exchange the money for magic beans and give them those. It's just it's so complicated but Valerie says she was just giving John the money to buy gold coins. What's the problem? But let's just say that the cops the better the other cops that they're right and Valerie was using those gold coins to buy a couple of murders which did not happen by the way everyone save except Valerie. She should drop the soap in the shower anytime soon but she was trying to hire a contractor to kill. These people does not sound like she was very easy to work for according to court documents when she was told the Hitman was at her ex-husband's office in Long Island said he should be killed in the hood or the ghetto instead so it would not look suspicious and when she learned. This hitman didn't WanNA murder teenage daughter near her school. She said runner the F over. How about that K- and then when a few weeks went by and her husband and this poor teenage girl weren't dead. She asked the obvious question. Why was this whole murder-for-hire thing taking so long but then cheap further micromanage the process by telling her boyfriend to have the Hitman kill the girl his daughter over the weekend and then wait a week or a month to kill her husband so it wouldn't look suspicious and she should know because she's a police officer a police officer at this point law enforcement had had enough and they decided to give her what she wanted? A dead husband stood in my car glass on the floor and all over me and had me hunch over into the peasants and it's a picture that was that like Earth craziest experience. Yeah after she saw the pictures and the police told her he was dead. Her boyfriend recorded her discussing what her fake alibi could be if she was questioned about it. If these allegations proved to be true in the yearbook this girl would definitely be voted most likely to be arrested for being dirty cop kind of a not so smart super dirty cop at that among other damning Internet searches. She Google the phrase. If your ex dies do you have to share your whole pension? She might as well been googling. Dump things criminals due to get themselves convicted. She was a twelve year veteran of the NYPD. Working as a domestic violence officer in Queens. And that's where she met her boyfriend John Baruba in two thousand seventeen while she was working case. He's been called her sugar daddy in the press. Now he was fifty four. She was thirty four at the time and he paid her and Bill. So yeah yeah that tracks but then he got her suspended when he reported to internal affairs that she was hanging out at his house when she was supposed to be on duty protecting serving but then they got back together. Their relationship is not surprisingly described as volatile. Of course Jon is an exactly choirboy either. He allegedly threatened to shoot a guy over fifty four thousand dollar diamond ring in January twenty nineteen and was bragging about supposed ties he had to the Gambino Crime Family. He was also very proud of his friendships. With a couple of the actors who played mobster on the Sopranos so for Guy who seemed to be such a mobster wannabe. How ironic is it? That the first thing he did was drop a dime on his girlfriend. Of course if you ask Valerie's family they believe it was John who set the whole thing up to framer and speaking of her family at the time. She was arrested. Her brother was an FBI agent two months after she was arrested he committed suicide but again she insists she's innocent. Prosecutors say Valerie did her best to try and get rid of the evidence they believe. She destroyed to cell phones and deleted texts. But even without those phones. It's pretty hard to argue with wire. Tape recordings isn't it does not look great for you girl. Her trial was supposed to start on April twentieth. But it's been postponed while her legal team. Sifts through thousands of pages of text and calls between her her boyfriend and her ex-husband if she's convicted. She faces ten years for each of the two attempted murder for hire accounts and twenty years for obstruction of justice. I have a feeling this is going to be it for

Where to buy hand sanitiser as coronavirus spreads

"Worldwide because of coronavirus in Maryland at least five people have tested positive and one Washington DC visitor from Nigeria has been treated in a Maryland hospital blah blah goes on and on and on there's no vaccine since December when the outbreak of the disease began in China began to spread to other countries including the United States which has resulted in area retailers reporting a surge in sales of hand sanitizer cleaning agents and other items Grohl's market in Ruxton has had trouble keeping hand sanitizer Clorox wipes and with bleach and cans of milk in the stock quote I've never seen anything like it said assistant store manager Jeff major who has worked for the company for eighteen years Wednesday the store brought in two cases of beer L. hand sanitizer they sold out that day quote I think rubbing alcohol will be the next thing to go said general manager Tom Gilbert as he motioned towards a shelf missing the first two rows of merchandise fingers crossed we'll have hand sanitizer by March fifteenth he said are you noticing these sorts of things in your neighborhood are you noticing have you stocked up told you I went to buy toilet paper last week and there was no toilet paper at Costco none I went to a grocery store and they had toilet paper that wouldn't say they were fully stocked there about half stocked should have bought the whole thing eBay has banned the sale of hand sanitizer not because they don't want people to have hand sanitizer but because people are charging an arm and a leg I told you about how you can buy like a one of those small little pocket models for like twelve to seventeen dollars so there's opportunism capitalism always finds a way what are you noticing any of this stuff I'm just curious if it's how widespread it is because there was on social media over the weekend there were videos from Australia of all places of people literally fighting over toilet paper there's one mother daughter team fighting with another woman because the mother daughter team had a a shopping cart literally filled with toilet paper like overflowing we filled with toilet paper in fact in one area of the country they have put a limit on how much toilet paper you can buy because people were hoarding toilet paper is this just paranoid do you feel like you know the better safe than sorry Monaco is the way to go back to the sun story sandy Pierce spent the better part of Sunday searching for disinfectants preferably her trusty Lysol or Clorox her journey from big lots in Lutherville the CVS in harbor east in all she went to nine stores before calling it quits quote I wasn't going any further all this for a damn can of Lysol end quote piers said she hit the jackpot at Walgreens on York road in Timonium where she found a twelve ounce can of Lysol spray it was eighty dollars she exclaimed the private school teacher in realtor said she usually shops on Amazon but she said the supply shortages and price gouging forced her to embark upon her weekend quest I have noticed this I have seen it like even Amazon which stocks everything is out of hand sanitizer and they are selling second hand because you people don't know this but you can go online and sign up on Amazon and sell whatever you got on Amazon doesn't seem particularly useful for certain things most people don't go to Amazon for things that they usually go to eBay for so you're probably better off going to eBay but in general you can sell whatever you want and if you notice because my dad likes Hydroxycut keys I don't know why I don't know what the differences between the hydroxyzine oreo but he says the the oreos are no good and hydroxy loves hydroxide is always love hydroxyzine kid you just can't find it so I I found a money bag now if you're not looking if you don't shop around because you can pay the normal price for a package of cookies on Amazon you can also pay the exorbitant price for a pack of cookies on Amazon you just have to look at who's selling it and how much each you know how much it is per package and the size of package and all that sort of stuff the same is true for every product in there you can start your own company or just sell it out of your own house and decide to do you're going to charge fifty Bucks for a pack of toilet paper now if you're in the market for Sharman and you're not paying attention you just see all the search results there Sherman okay good I'm gonna click the Sherman added to my cart let's go check out I recommend you pay attention to what you click on online but people don't and it has happened mistakes have been made and you're screwed you bought it you lose the deal so you see all these things I went looking and I just out of curiosity I was looking for hand sanitizer and the hand sanitizer on Amazon was no different than the hand sanitizer on under eBay it was exorbitantly priced shall we say an eBay did not have or Amazon did not have any of their own you know like in stock sold by Amazon I'm looking at it right now let's see germ X. hand sanitizer regional travel size one point five ounces seven dollars twenty five cents that's what you're dealing with here so the paranoia the fear stoked by the media by people who don't know any better is having an impact will it have an impact on politics I don't know but it's definitely having an impact on people's behaviors there are people all over the world who are scared to death when the evidence to this point has shown not to be worth it not to be worthy of being scared to death being cautious absolutely being aware being alert yes no question about it washing your hands how disturbing is it that so many people need to be told to wash their hands in order for them to wash their hands the unit makes you want to never eat in a restaurant ever again if you need to be told to wash your hands it's just scary scary stuff says that the bank to the sun interview article hand sanitizer sales in the U. S. more than doubled in the four weeks ending February twenty nine compared to the same period a year ago according to market research firm Nielsen sales of thermometers spike spike fifty two point three percent during the same period sales of dried beans spiked nearly eighteen percent according to the Associated Press the disease is weighing on the minds of consumers at Grohl's market major re called and that an elderly customer require inquired earlier this week about the health of the stores Instacart

Mediterranean Diet Grabs the Top Spot for Best Healthy Lifestyle Plan

"There is a topic that you WanNa talk talk about this week. Yeah absolutely. We're talking about the Mediterranean Diet today. Okay because it's ranked number one by the US News News Best diets what the. US News does. is they evaluate thirty five different diets and they get input from a panel of experts. Experts including doctors nutritionists Dietitians and people who specialize in diabetes heart health human behavior and weight loss and they They basically look at criteria to rank the diets based on whether they meet the USDA my plate guidelines for calories portions vitamins and minerals as well as whether they help or hinder weight loss and also they have to be relatively easy to follow so so the Mediterranean Diet as ranked number one this year for twenty twenty but it also ranked number one last year and it has been in the either the a number one or number two position in previous years as well so The Mediterranean Diet to me is. It's it's almost kind of like like a no nonsense. Overall healthy approach to eating and living in. And what's really interesting is when we talk about the Mediterranean Diet. Hi and unfortunately the word Diet is in the name but I kind of wish. It wasn't because it's really a it's a lifestyle. It's a lifestyle and in fact when you read about doubted you see that. It doesn't just only incorporate the food aspects but it also talks about The lifestyle of having you you know being active in your life and also about Community sharing meals with family and that type of thing so the whole idea of family dinners is even even a part of the whole philosophy of a Mediterranean diet lifestyle so And it's been around a while the one one really interesting being History on the Mediterranean Diet was that you know it's been research since the nineteen fifties early findings emerged out of something called the seven countries study which began in nineteen fifty seven and it was. It was directed by a A researcher named Ansel keys from the University of Minnesota and he brought together researchers from all over the world to collectively steady the medical questions of the time concerning specifically cardiovascular diseases among people who were living in countries with a variety of different traditional eating patterns in lifestyles. And what what came out of this. You know there were. He looked at twenty two different countries. But what he presented in his research was seven of them and They found that the healthiest people were living in Crete which is one of the islands in the Mediterranean region so by the Mediterranean reflects the food and social social customs of people that live in countries that have a coastline along the Mediterranean Sea. So this is going to include places like Italy Greece Spain Inter in Turkey so so when we think of Mediterranean. That's you know the countries that were thinking of and then also the food and customs that come from that region agent and this goes back centuries so recent research shows like what are the types of foods that they eat and not only that they they look look at if someone is living in the United States and they're following these same dietary principles and lifestyle principles that they can get similar results as what have been seen in the studies of people who have been following this way of life for for generations. So What are you know? Everyone probably wants to know. So what's included and and we eat. And what do they do. The question is what do they eat in. What are they? Don't eat right. Well that's a really good. That's really good okay. So what's really kind of fascinating is there really is no one exact Mediterranean diet because the guidelines reflect different foods from all these different countries. But what what we have done is we've sort of Honed it down And and looked at it so Aside from the fact that processed foods are not included did In the Mediterranean Diet. This is a very almost like pure processed free Iva Diet in fact you know if we wanted to make a comparison between the process free lifestyle described in my book. The science of skinny and the Mediterranean Diet is very similar You know there might just be different difference in portions and that type of thing So aside from that What's really kind of cool about it is? It's kind of unrestrictive and simple. The calories are not a concern. The foundation is built upon anti inflammatory plant based meals with a focus on deeply colored the fruits and vegetables especially the green leafy types such as Chard Kale and spinach and the non starchy type. Vegetables like artichokes folks cauliflower eggplant tomatoes And then a lots of different herbs and spices like Basil Bay leaves Fennel Garlic Parsley Lee Rosemary. And sage and lots of beans beans tend to be A A focus in the Mediterranean Diet and less red meat in in fact in in the most of the Mediterranean traditional societies Red Meat or pork was only eaten. Minimally like maybe yeah well well not only even just like a side but also like only maybe once a month or on a special occasion like a birthday or a wedding or something so it was not a regular learn every day food and so then that still is tantamount part of the Mediterranean Diet. And why it's been used a lot of heart health studies. So it's you know because people who have cardiovascular disease and need to improve their diet Eliminating the saturated fat from Red Meat's is one one of the the keys to that so Is consuming more fish. Is that a an aspect of the Mediterranean diet or no yes in fact fish is one of the main animal foods. Okay in the Mediterranean diet it does include some dairy But in much smaller amounts than what like our USDA guidelines would recommend which USDA guidelines. Tell us to eat three dairy servings a day in the Mediterranean Diet it's very minimal And in those countries and look look in the traditional diet it was mainly from either goat's milk or sheep's milk and they would make that into cheese so they didn't sit there Erin. Drink glasses of milk right so In the US it you know. The Mediterranean diet is recommending low fat dairy which I would probably not recommend that I would recommend whole fat dairy but in the minimal quantities that We they see in the Mediterranean Diet. Do you mentioned that in the science of skinny I do okay. Yeah I say whole milk is is preferred but you don't need to consume a lot of it and it's actually kind of optional. Really no one needs to eat dairy And I think we see that in the Mediterranean diet that it's it's very minimally focused and so you could even leave it out One thing I like about the Mediterranean Diet also is that it's the percentages of the what we call the macronutrients as the fats carbohydrates and the protein we see a higher air percentage of good fat. And of course olive oil is the main source of good fat olive. Oil Fish and nuts are where most of the fat in the Diet comes from and these are all unsettled basically monounsaturated and also some polyunsaturated from fish like the Omega threes Are are where most of the fat comes from. And it's about forty percent of the caloric intake per day is coming from fats which is higher than in what the USDA guidelines recommend but yet we see really good health with people following this on the flip side. Though you have the other part of it is that we have you know all all. The carbohydrates are complex. Meaning it's from beans or from starchy type vegetables or from whole grains so we. I don't see any processed grains in the Mediterranean Diet so the complex carbohydrate percentages are are lower than what we would see in the USDA guidelines and then the protein is quite moderate anywhere between Fifteen to twenty percent of calories coming from protein so most Mediterranean meals. Actually look. Vegetarian is that they're very plant. Centered yes so you would see you know. Mostly vegetables on the plate Probably some some beans or grains and then very minimal amounts of fish or You know if if red meat is consumed. It's like it's like I say it's minimal and it's not often in the in the month so Now a couple of other things they also include red wine oh And that is for the polyphenols that are in the skins of the grapes. And when they're fermented into wine it increases the concentration nation of those polyphenols and so that tends to also be quite heart healthy and lots of 'em antioxidants. The polyphenols are antioxidants. so however it's not unlimited The recommendation is. It's one five ounce glass of red wine for women per day and two I five ounce glasses for men per day and that's the recommendation but of course one thing I always tell people is if you're not already a consumer of wine you you don't have to add this into follow the Mediterranean Diet. It's it's it's there but it's optional. You mean the the wine right the wind like you know you you know some people say oh. I don't drink red wine or I don't drink at all right so I can't do that and that's fine. You don't have to do that. That's the other thing about. It is very adaptable. You could make gluten free you. Can you know you can adjust for different food sensitivities that or food preferences. This is that a person would want to do so. I'm not surprised that it's ranked number

"On the volatile personality will be as great player but that looks to be on site which by the way Jon Gruden was asked me about twenty minutes ago if you had a comment he said no we'll give you that will actually give you the within that serves some point later on today so we'll probably get some resolution with the stuff maybe yeah a five ounce mint later today official nothing ambiguous about that now an official announcement well we have the official start of the season of course the great rivalry between the Packers and the Chicago Bears and we're joined by general spent all twelve years of his career in Chicago terrific linebacker seven pro bowls made it all pro team back in two thousand five as well and thought about lance Briggs is with us here on tiki and tear the CBS sports radio lance what's have nobody ready for some football the what many good. and I'm this is the best time of year from the. it is yeah you're right brings it all out that's right that's right I think you made the Pro you're all pro the year I made mile pro in oh five but you were you were coming in I was going out I was I was at all yet at that point yeah sure did I sure did I was me and Brian we get in together yeah pretty close the deal yeah exactly so it is you look at the beginning of the season and look what this all all season has been. interesting for the bears you lose your office of course our defense of court as you say a big Fangio goes out to Denver but the talent is just so amazing are you expecting the same level of success as last year this season even though things have changed just a little bit no I think yeah I expect the I think more I spent more takeaways I think one question. on the quarterback I could bigger things from this from this group because another capable we all of their table they're going to they should they should see things faster than they did last year they should expect things quicker than they did last year and you know for the only the only question mark you know we were a great coach like job Donna with his you know that if it ain't broke don't try to fix it it also really is just you know keep the ship's thirty. you should study a let your let your dog. those guys go out there and do what they've been doing yeah in the main one of those lands as we all know is is Khalil Mack in I mean we've seen talented linebackers over the course of the the NFL a guy who could do it like he does it from the edge and then I was even the linebacker position as well how special of a player is here we are we is hyperbole around him received actually that good. now you. he's that good you know a lot you know I watch every week you are watching he killed every week he's he's one of those guys. you've got the the bad you understand exactly how the you know the bye week you come off the Baltimore you'll see a big load off the wall you know but he just knows exactly how to work the guys from from inside right to speak to is know how to get the ball out he's a fallen where he's one of those guys that you use when you try to go around try to find a reason not to hi the high for the top dollar you can't find it you can check I like that expression without a lens brings former lie back for the bears now early on yet success you guys got to the Superbowl when you were playing you had at least four double digit win season maybe fifty one in there but at least for and before last year's renaissance lance and I remember last summer we were told to somebody who was by cool is that from Chicago from the score lords homes we had on the show that we do not for you probably know that a large homes and we're doing the preview lance right and he's like I nobody cares about the bears me take you like what cares about the bears it seems like the energy for the bears I know didn't die would dramatically dissipated so now that it's back bears fans is it's Super Bowl or bust or they still somewhat realistic that it could be an incremental step forward without getting to the Superbowl where's the bear fan right now well let me tell you you know I'm at the I'm at the courtyard here and just a few minutes ago we got on the phone so you was a rowdy crowd the district's field everybody's out it's a Thursday thought my question is you know who's working. your own as far as the you know yeah but but but but everybody knows about cited everybody they know this team right here's a ball of reaching lord they're capable of reaching the. Miami this year so that I think that the expectation I think that the team the. we have a thing that. yeah the you know let you just mentioned you bet your down there the courtyard by Marriott with Matt forte who is a great runner in in in his own right when he was with but with the Chicago Bears tells about the Superbowl sleepover contest that you guys have going on. accu pretty cool you know it's an opportunity for for you know the winners. they're going to run out of one of the suite and the people of Xebel stadium and I'm gonna have the winners are gonna sleep over and they'll be the first ones to wake up in the stadium well Sunday and I'll be quite an experience yeah right makes is a kick in there lots of food. I was still coach may be although right sleeve all right either because that would recruits. that actually is very cool very cool print a very cool and that is what I say what idea let's let me ask you this you know this is walls I yeah you know you want to walk by the kicker in the locker room and you really don't want to have to worry about much just do do your hundred ninety pounds we're just do you freaking job kicked the ball straight on kick off don't let a return it. oh boy I mean when there's a situation like the bears had a year ago and it's really bled in this entire summer all I mean is this going to derail the season because the kicker still mess. not you know I like I like the situation now because you know there's a lot of. what a long resume on there right now you know there's not without you know walking in the sand all these guys. ticker or this or that even the creative talent you know right here with with with today. and that kind of the the formula that started for radical you know run came in we didn't know what we're gonna do we're like I've got a guy coming to go to court gonna be good updates photos we came in and he started his percentage during a his career with the bears weekend one of the.

In the south zone because we know how To's owns and right here in the south zone. Undertook about eight hundred turkeys in the first week. Okay. Opening day. They took just shy of three thousand birds in the youth season. They took a little over thirteen hundred birds. And I noticed that in each one of those cases the numbers are down not a lot, but they're down noticeably from. Last year across the board. Not sure what that's all about. I don't think it was the weather this year, and we a little more fullish this year. I think earlier well that could be but it was a little thicker and a lot of gobbling about a month before the season started. I've I've always argued that are season opens a little late in Ohio. "five ounces" Discussed on Bloomberg Radio New York

"Twelve fifty five ounce and west Texas intermediate crude fluctuated between gains and losses on changed right now at forty five eighty eight a barrel. I'm Charlie pelletan. That is a Bloomberg business flash. You so much Charlie Pellett. You are listening to Bloomberg BusinessWeek carolmassar, my co-host Jason Kelly taking a few days off here during this holiday season. Coming up though, folks, we're definitely on Washington watch. And we are headed seems like four government shutdown, but we'll see a few hours to go and we'll see whether or not the folks in Washington and what happens with the president of. We'll see if we get somebody to move forward. Roles are going to talk all things retail. It is the last holiday weekend before Christmas. So we'll get a check on some of the trends that we've been seeing and what the activity has looked like and also another chapter in the career of DreamWorks founder Jeffrey Katzenberg, Gina who he is really well known to the folks on the west coast also making some inroads in Silicon Valley. We'll tell you exactly what he's up to. And then we've got the investor who made billions betting on macro strategies. Well, known name we're talking about George Soros. He's paring back on that strategy big time. And then we're going to wrap it off at the cost of the twelve days of Christmas. In the meantime, we gotta talk about the fifth day of trading because it's a rough one again, certainly one for the bears. So let's get into it with our team here in our Bloomberg interactive brokers studio Dave Wilson in the house wearing a lovely Christmas. Tie. Is it musical not? Here's a cold. But it's die cut. So you really highlight? The ornaments that way, it is it actually looks like ornaments. Dave Wilson of cars are stock that our Bloomberg news along with Elena Papina not wearing a holiday tied nor a holidays are ugly Christmas sweater. But I'm not gonna be there. Alina Pena's equity markets reporter at Bloomberg news. Dave Wilson, let's start off with you. I think going into the session today were already down about four or five percent and those major equity averages and we're building on that downward momentum. Here we are. And I'm just checking out because you go back to last Friday. We have the possibility of the fifth decline of one percent or more India S and P five hundred and six days, and as it stands, you're you're talking about, you know, the biggest drop over that timeframe since February of this year. So going back to the last time, basically the market. So that had a connection. Right. You might say and this time around was fired because early on I mean, stocks were doing okay because you had a lot of trading related to the expiration of stock index futures index options and also what's going on today. All right on individual shares. Yeah. I mean, the triple witching is it's called which will play out again a little bit at the closing bell. But beyond that, I mean what really struck me is that when you saw stock. Kind of take a hit just how badly the fangs did they were sort of at the front of the pullback you might say. And I'm just looking now Apple's down two and a half percent Facebook four and a half percent lower amazoNcom four and a half percent lower net. Flicks five and a half percent lower and Google's parent. Alphabet down two point six percent. You're looking to class as share so and I'm just saying random here. Just picking one of the things I picked up apple it is down thirty four percent from its high on October third. So it's been a pretty impressive pullback. It certainly has. It's interesting though, you still have Amazon and Netflix higher for the year, but the rasta turn lower especially Facebook down about twenty eight percent as we speak. So they're headed for the first losing full years since the company went public back in two thousand twelve puppy commodity, and on all of this you to or watching the equity markets, what's of interest to you. It is interesting that the best form in sector this year. Well, the is down for the year. But the sector that's down. The lease is utilities. When was the last time this happened? This happened in two thousand eight so all the FANG stocks all the technology mega cabs. I get an absolutely killed during this selloff. And now we are seeing the index under after an index fallen into bear market, the S and P is close. There was a little bit of a optimism early in this session when we opened higher we were up. About one percent at some point. We're back down to the red a lot of uncertainty. Not a good way to end this week before Christmas. So let's just remind everybody that last year in terms of the s&p five hundred we were up about nineteen percent in two thousand sixteen. We're up about nine and a half percent. Go back to two thousand thirteen we were up almost thirty percent. I mean, we have had quite a dramatic run-up Dave as money has been cheap. You certainly have the central Bank by keeping rates low encouraging folks investors, specifically to go into riskier assets as somebody said to me in an interview yesterday saying, you know, we've all gotten a bit spoiled. You can't expect this low rate environment cheap cost of money environment to continue. Absolutely. And you can really break down this year's performance in the stock market to two periods. The first nine months of the year where you basically saw technology companies that consumer discretionary category retailers and a whole lot more. Which led the bull market all the way back to March two thousand nine there were at the forefront and this quarter. It's been all about trying to play defense in the midst of these losses. You mentioned utility stocks. That's one example, real estate is another consumer Staples food beverage tobacco that also fits the theme. So it's been a real transition. And now the question is whether this is something that's just sort of a one shot deal. And we go back to where we were once you get to twenty nineteen or does that really become sort of the beginning of trend suggesting that investors or a little bit skeptical about where the economy goes from here. One thing for certain is we've had more volatility. Maybe it's a little bit above normal. I don't know about that. But we certainly have had more normal volatility. More swings in the market. I mean, if you had I don't know we've into cash at the end of September on the S and P five hundred you would have been up nine percent for the year, which would many people would say that was a pretty good year. And if you think about it, that's absolutely crazy. I just talked to one trader who said he has thirty percent of his per follow following cash right now, that's the most since two thousand eight so people are really taking a step back at this point. And people are looking to see what's going to happen next. If you think about this year on a broader perspective think about how we started this year in late January and February such a dramatic sell off. Right. People lost a lot of money all the retail investors that piloting in January as the markets had did you for a moment? And all those people who feilding later over the summer as the s&p was making you highs in September. They just now crashed again as the markets is down sixteen percents. Senses Hines cameras and not a good way to start the year. And not a good way to end the year. I do wonder Dave in terms of valuations in terms of our earnings outlook at some point do smart investors, just say, well, wait a minute. You know, based on what does earnings outlook is for this particular company. It's pretty cheap right now that may be the bowl and be a cheerleader. But I just. Logically. You have to look at the market that may very well be the case, but you have to kind of take a step back, and look, and I had this chart the other day talking about the drop in the price learnings ratio for the s&p five hundred that the only times basically that you've seen bigger declines are years when there were bear markets own nine hundred ninety four when it was really a bear market for bonds. And stock kinda got caught in that. So you put it all together at the very least, you're not paying the kind of prices. You were going back twelve months for shares here, and hopefully, we'll get some more insight as we get more earnings. Hey, folks, thank you so much Elena. Pena equity markets reporter at Bloomberg news. Dave Wilson are stocks. That are Bloomberg news. He's going to be along later on quick check on the Bloomberg markets by the day, one number that tells us a lot this number today sixty days Japanese, prosecutors rearresting Nissan's former chairman Carlos gone on fresh more serious allegations in financial misconduct. And so it looks like could be a few more days that he's spending in jail. All right right now, let's get a check on.

"Don't be afraid to wear some of your tighter more form fitting clothes in the winter too. I know it's really fun to throw in a scarf in big chunky sweater. And just look all cozy and such. But what happens is if we don't wear jeans jeans, come you're meaning jeans. If you don't try on those means like every other week, you know, what's going to happen. You're going to try them on and you're going to be like, okay. Hose a personal of my jeans in the dryer for so long sober, Sean. These genes who is it. We have that conversation. Okay. So what's going on? There is those genes have shrunk actually the person who's going in them has just expanded a little bit now, sometimes expansion can be just from inflammation. So if you've ever gone to put on your genes, you're like what in the world late word is like three days ago. What am I gained ten pounds? You might have eaten something very inflammatory and your body is holding onto water or you've done such a difficult workout. And I know that sounds bad. But it's actually good thing that you you've created microscopic tears in the muscle tissue. That is created some mild or intense soreness and that soreness is accompanied with water attention in the muscle to help repair those tissues and you'll go to slip on your genes. And you're like what the heck a why are these so tight I've been working out? It makes no sense. Don't worry about it. It should be gone. The next day. Drink a lot of water, and I know people are like wait if I'm holding onto water. Why would I drink a lot of water well because your body needs a certain amount, especially when it's healing. And if your body. Feels as though it's not like your body has feelings. But if your body how do I say this if you're not getting enough water your body's going to hold onto water to perform its functions if you're giving it enough water it will then realize it doesn't have to hold onto water. It'll kind of flush through as a general rule. You should be drinking enough water that when you go to the bathroom your urine is a very light yellow almost clear, I know, this is Tim I but mine is always clear because at a minimum I drink four water bottles every day four water bottles have about twenty five ounces. I created a system. So that I could develop a habit because I only drink diet coke. I hated water and eventually weaned myself off of diet coke and onto water. But then I had to figure. Okay. Like do. I just keep refilling the same water bottle. And so now, I use three water bottles. I fill them up the night before they are insulated steel bottles. So they stay cold for twenty four hours. And I do that. The night before I sit on my clothes in night before I pick out my clothes. I'm going to wear after my workout the night before I cleaned the kitchen, I put my makeup bag aside. I pull out my keys I figure out what we're going to do. Like, I have everything slip. I wake up and I only have five minutes to get ready, boom. I can. And even my water bottles have already been pre filled with lemon ginger water,

And you think what would people be interested in reading about one of the stories that is sure to get their attention is one about their taxes going up and, that's the story that moved just a few. Minutes ago here on the Bloomberg terminal the IRS moving to. Block New York and New Jersey efforts to skirt the state tax cap this of course is. Part of the, new tax law a cap of ten thousand dollars. On deductions of state and. Local taxes, we're going to bring one of the authors of that story Laura Davidson she is Bloomberg news. Is tax reporter. Joining us from our bureau in. Washington DC Lor great to, be with you So tell us what's happening here and why. This is bouncing so high So yes so in the tax law change. The congresswoman and said you can only deduct up to ten thousand dollars, I've your, state and, local taxes and in high tax states like California New York New Jersey lots of taxpayers have, bills that way exceed that know twenty thousand thirty thousand forty. Thousand dollars and they, used, to be able to deduct all of that so the states can hey let's. Look at ways that we can find. Some sort of work. Around here so people can still write that off basically what they said it's sort of re characterize. This as, a charitable contribution donation to the state or the county. Created you know basically set up state laws that funds can be created you. Can donate that and then getting full deductions on your, federal, tax return and the IRS and treasury are coming in here saying no we don't think this is a legitimate charitable contributions that you basically have to meet a bunch, of other requirements, if he wants to get a. Full deduction hair Jason as you know Muniz do, not trade like equities so I wouldn't be. Surprised if there's no reaction but let me just put this into perspective Our viewers relative to the triple a benchmark yield. California's the AA minus rated state and they're trading right as a AAA, because there's, such high, demand for tax free bonds and California that you're seeing the same yield even though there is, much more risk than a AAA curve in part because you. Have residents that are, fleeing, trying to find safe haven places to put their money Laura I want to. Ask you what is your first thought. On the impact that. This has on some of the residents residence of high tax states have already third calling their accountants. And lawyers, saying hey you know what if I moved to particularly. In California Nevada Texas lots of low tax states that are that are close. By and it's it's not super easy to do that, you, have to meet a lot of requirements but the people likely are going to see their tax bills go up on if you're a higher earner your homeowner in one, of these states, but this is really not the. End of it you know states could challenge this, they could change the work arounds that they've Passed a, far too to comply. To of further get around the IRS regulations The mad about this New York New jersey That they were, feeling they were targeted by Republicans in congress and they're getting really creative about, how they. Can basically save their tax payers the money and so is there sort of an effort galvanizing among opponents of this either on the? State level or even at the federal level because I have to think that members of congress may be. Hearing from constituents who are squawking about this so states have. Been a little bit in a holding pattern they knew this was coming from the. IRS they've known for a couple of months they were kind of a waiting to see what. The IRS is, gonna do and then, react and, of course congress could do something, you know if Democrats take back the house this is one of the things they've cited is they want to repeal this. Cap on on state and local tax deductions but remember, the Senate is unlikely to flip it could but but not likely and and Republicans still hold the White House. And they would veto any efforts like this so it really need to be until Democrats have more of a lock on on congress and the White House before there, could be a law change that could died. Can. Make this better for high tax, States Great Laura Davidson our Bloomberg news tax reporter joining us on the phone from, our bureau in Washington DC you're listening to. Bloomberg.

"Is well kind of three to five ounces of animal protein uh which is about the size of your hand would all provide around that twenty to thirty grams per meal which is important when i say per meal not just at dinner notching at lunch but all throughout the day breakfast lunch dinner than there some snacks and there as well chris let's remind people explain he say had the twenty to thirty grand seems to work well uh per meal works well for people what is it about preteen that's so seemingly magical we hear a lot about it we see it on packages that i think it's also provides in context and why you as a professional recommend people are getting this much on protein in each meal absolute limited number of things that certainly protein does for us but the to come to the two big ones that is that i usually turn to and looked to people are most interested in our our one protein helps show you up so in terms of the term is called for tighter day i'm so if protein helps joe you up think about the importance of that at a meal particularly breakfast so you can be more satiated throughout the day at a number two of the other big component of protein is that it helps build and or maintain muscle of course when when doing resistance training so not independent of that uh but if we look at those two pieces the weight management and or weight loss piece to it because it helps fill you up and the muscle building potential uh protein it is certainly really really important and so i i usually point to those two things like i mention of course protein those other benefits bought big picture the weight peace andy in the muscle piece i think curve what most people are after now chris as people are sitting listening to the s sometimes i guess women can get overwhelming and thinking about how how that in every meal and that's one of the reasons i wanted to do this typecast day on protein powders because when we did the protein vare episode within the closed this on malini life pie task faced a group the question.
