Amazons Luna, new Echo and indoor flying drones: What you need to know

"Wouldn't these benchmarks ribbon has been all over this welcome band hey. So you spent the last forty, five minutes basically live tweeting in catching every bit of news. There's a lot to break down but let's get to what most people are familiar with the those are echoes speakers. Talk about the new Echo Speaker that looks a bit more globe ish or roundish yet it's a spherical design and Amazon definitely did a good job of keeping a lot of its hardware. CHANGES UPDATES quiet this year there were way more rumors last year, but this year the just you know there wasn't that much that we knew what to expect. We were hoping for maybe a home robot and that didn't really happen what I would argue about these spherical echoes is that people probably aren't GonNa WanNa bother updating their existing echo line with these products they you know unless unless the audio quality and the quality of Alexa, being able to understand you is so significantly better than it makes sense to do that Kabila stick with what they have except for the echo dots for kids which are ridiculously adorable in. are like you know there's like one that looks like a Tiger I. Think there's another one that looks like. Zebra. So I think they did a really good job of making them lot cuter in fetter for kids. Yeah. I noticed that that those are the the process of stuck out my eye because were so unbelievably adorable Annika see my kid like having a conversation with them that sound super. Precious. they did a lot with kids. They offered a kids profile talk about some of the kidnappings as relates to so that the family aspect of Amazon customers yeah. The kid's profile was probably the most significant one which basically. From what I understand about it if you create a kids profile then. You're echoes throughout the House will respond to your kid in kid friendlier kid appropriate fashions that something that you can already do with an echo doubt kids if you set it up that way, this way that feature could in theory follow the kid around the house. So you don't actually have to set up each device specifically for that, which is annoying for parents in case you want to. Listen to music that is in specifically or explicitly kid friendly so that that I would say it was like. One of the more significant amount announcements related to that, and I'm just curious if there were any other any extra privacy features that come with the kids mode. Just so folks don't have to be worried so for for the kids mode. They've they've done that quite a bit already where it's just much more targeted for kids So there are fewer services there are fewer skills You can't ask it a variety of different questions. So that it's much narrower, much more targeted for kids and it's been like that the whole time so. Just, basically, Alexa but much more curated version

Market Update with Alex Saunders, Nuggets News

"We just recently had bitcoin cross twelve, thousand dollars it ran up you know to to grand over the course of a weekend pretty much. While big money was asleep in, you know out on their yachts. And then it came crashing back fourteen hundred dollars in five minutes who's responsible for these kinds of moves behind the scenes you've been around forever. Can you give us any kind of insight into why bitcoin can be you know more exciting than ever pay pals on board US banks have been cleared to get on board why would there be a fourteen hundred dollar price crash in five minutes? So. As you say up in which the charts like daily, since two, thousand, twelve and. Becomes always been volatile because it it's hard to like get specific value and it's always despite some sentiment narratives. But now we've got these hundred x leverage which dominates trading in markets in volume and a lot of other things are getting their prospect. David from from mix in the lock. So I really try to particularly begin did not even look at that price m a lot of people always say that and not to worry about it but honestly that number on the screen now that we're getting from these hundred exchanges is just not relative. So if you arrive with negotiating OTC you, as you say, we'd probably be negotiating around eleven thousand dollars somewhere in the middle, but we're not wired about the day-to-day process if I'm going to buy million dollars of becoming a few on the weekend and it feels funny. Way Not rookie out Monday in on paying twenty percent less negotiating on seven I average price or something like that and that's why people really need to think about it because these big wild and try it is that you know the K levels that everybody's watching they know everyone stops even some of the exchanges that had against their own customers or whatever. So they can push the crossed this level of volume in liquidities inner on weekends where we've seen a lot of this stuff. You low time it gets pushed up on the weekend, and then he gets sort of smashed back down by Monday morning and it's just these guys. They can push markets around. So Tokyo don't worry about it too much. Yeah outlets, good advice and I think these derivatives exchanges is probably the biggest difference between this bull run and the last one. In fact, the very end of the two thousand seventeen bull run is when bitcoin was launched on Sami futures and bit. Mex- came to live like the literally the day of that was the top of the market. So with these with the huge money being able to make profit in both directions and manipulate things almost in three. D.. As opposed to two D now is holding dead or is that still going to be a profitable strategy for people that are just trying to get into crypto? Absolutely holding is still the most profitable strategy in Atto Ole as I really think you should just be dollar cost averaging into to join the May I'm a huge belaboring Theorem as well, but I guess that's up to you whatever ye locked. But over time these markets growing to an enormous market cap and when you zoom out, it's almost slightly SOCK on as low shots that we look at because of the exponential growth and people just. Tied down in the Diet a diet. All should aboard here or crippled he. Never, GonNa beat the bottom never gonna peak the top and you're getting get shaken outy few wiles. Enjoy the ride, use it to your advantage. You know set some low beads exchange, review the computer. When we have these thousand crash, you know just by a little bit extra from adult cost averaging stack because over time the wires cannot manipulate the process. It's it's going up into the rot as long as we continue to grow, which is going to grow into the trillions of dollars among cap for Bitcoin for these other leading particles. So use that. To your advantage Derby August football, even nowadays fustrating. one-sided caught a thought that we've got to leverage bitcoin people. I'm going to speculate outside D two, thousand, seventeen. That's something that was seeking is GonNa play out but then we saw excited like FDA at high leverage on these outs. So it was like a guy will allow people to. Try to outs on one hundred times leverage will I guess of course, the gravy and you might afford you in Allah and that sort of Chinese and now it's like twenty seventeen on steroids I think he's really going on honestly think that we're about to say all the robinhood tried his diabetes detritus. Most. Countries than we sold, the nasdaq-listed Company mockery strategy put money to bitcoin notes. It's to be I and now wants to be lost. We've seen that now with legendary invest poultry to giants I think we're GONNA say we'd State actors like governments or Central Bank somebody's going to be first and then that he's GonNa, stop the peaceful run lost

Shannon Sharpe reacts to Lakers GM 3 loss to Nuggets in Western Conference Finals

"III LOVES SIGHT THAT LOSS. From the Lakers and how about we break it down right now guys Lebron. What is third triple-double this postseason, but it wasn't enough against the nuggets. Last Night Denver led by twenty as late as the fourth quarter Lebron Ford in thirteen points in a last-ditch comeback at. Albury, finished with a team I twenty, eight, ten of which came in the fourth defend off Lebron the Lakers and hold on for the one fourteen to one. Oh, six Windsor Shannon. What is the biggest reason? The Lakers lost this one. They came out they came out and look like a team was to oh, and they just thought you know we don't come on here and do what we do and and not play hard and you could tell early on the nuggets were getting whatever they want. They drive laid up in the paint they you'll get to his dominant hand his right hand. Kiva phenomenal player. He's GonNa make shot skip that shot that he hit with the clock winding down on the right foot. I note most guys right handed shoot that shot Dirk Nowitzki made famous what he shot off his left leg I've never seen right hand guy shoot that shot up the up the wrong foot. I mean, 'cause we shoes tonight expected to go in everybody that's a bad shot clock winding up I expected to go in but I did not expect the Lakers to look this flat. We've haven't seen them even even against a Portland skip the first game even against the rockets the first game they didn't look this flat they I'm like broad do realize the western conference finals. you mentioned it a D. Two rebounds and they came in the last five minutes of the Game Hey deeply forty-three minutes. Avail one rebound white one rebuilt. If you tell me skill that the nuggets will out rebounded again by nineteen. If you tell me, they're going to turn the ball over the Lakers. I'm going to say the nuggets going to win the series, but I don't believe that I believe Lebron ad will play better I. Believe Lebron will be more aggressive because I thought the second the second in the third quarter. Eighty go it and it seemed like Lebron was designed to say you know what you gotta go hey, we're gonNA keep going. But skipped ahead, given up so much ground they had dug themselves. So much of a whole maybe if they don't allow get a eighteen twenty, maybe ten twelve now they can complete the comeback but I thought the Lakers played like a team that was looked. Like they didn't have they had a away game and if through this game away but what are the process what you've done if that you giving these guys confidence because now they think they can beat you they do they feel like Murray for sure thinks he can be yes and he's talking like He. SHOULD BE UP TWO GAMES TO ONE IS I've seen story before the thing is with this guy when he gets hot and. Those lash those last second shot because I saw him in game seven you remember the clock out of both have and he throwing up three's from twenty five from thirty feet and he switching. So he has confidence in their gaining companies but the problem that also has get, you can't have every guy that played for the nuggets with the exception of to a temp equal to or more free throws they Lebron James that tells. Me He's not getting he's not driving the ball. He's not aggressive enough or they're not calling it. So for me, that was the different. They just lacked intensity. They came out like a team that was too low and had the game to throw away I. Expect I know for certain and I'm going I, don't care I. don't care what the line he'll. I won't do on it right now you do I won't do right now.

Vic Martinez on what he learned as a leader at Disney

"Names Vic Martinez and you're listening to the hacking you leadership podcast guests series the most impactful leader mentor my life would have to be Mike Myers. A reported up to him in some way during my career Walt Disneyworld and he was always a shining example of what a true leader should be by just watching him and spending time with him. I learned that people should be taken care of instead of managed he taught me how to build effective teams and how to leverage people, skills and passions to get the best work out of them and best of all, he taught me how to own my mistakes and keep moving forward instead of dwelling on them. The first mistake meat is a leader of people might have been dermot first year as a Disney leader at. Disney. Most customers want to grow with the company and I assume that this personnel at down did as well long story short. I was trying to help them get out of their shell grow and apply to be a trainer. What I didn't do is get to know them better I or I. Would have learned that they didn't really want to be a trainer or teach people. They were perfectly happy as Kenny art is making caramel apples all day and anyone more responsibility in. Now focus on building relationships and really getting to know the person and more importantly their needs before I offer up any advice or offer help and career development. The difference between a good leader and a great leader simple. They care and they backup that care what action. I've been fortunate enough to be raised by amazing leaders I mean I was sixteen when I started with Disney our leaders were basically like my parents teaching me right and wrong every day. But my absolute favorite leaders were the ones who cared had empathy had natural emotional intelligence. One of my most favorite moments was when my dad came to visit me when I was an early cashier at Disney. He worked nights and weekends saw only got to see him a few hours a week and my leader remembered me sharing that with him months ago and confidence in he instead of telling me to go back to work, he said Hey Vick don't you go over data tour of the operation take thirty forty, five minutes. I thought I was going to get in trouble for for him being there, and and this leader decided to put me I in the operation second for about thirty, forty, five minutes. But that thirty forty five minutes was so impactful that I would work late or come in on my day off and and give him my best work. No matter what after that because of so indebted to. His kindness I don't have direct reports in my current role at NPR but I realize you don't need them to be a leader, a measure success as leader of people in developer talent by looking at attrition. If our client is leaving us then didn't see the value won't we offer, and that issue could be as simple as that were they think we're too expensive and when I hear that. I hear that they don't think we deserve to be paid that much for what they're cutting. So something's wrong. So work with many people to ensure that the client is taking care of sees the value of their purchase and continues to do business with us. Being in sales is really starts with me and it's up to me this at the right expectations and give my team the tools. They need to successfully onboard the client and when things go wrong on Yo on blame I just seek to understand entitles failures with a teachable moment and maybe add another bullet points at a checklist. Then I follow up to ensure it doesn't happen again and when it doesn't, I make sure to thank them I think this is a healthier way to work with others to accomplish the same goal.

Swastika, New York, Is Keeping Its Name

"There's a debate in this country over symbols and statues and place names that are tied toe white supremacy. So what to do about a small community in rural northern New York? Called swastika. This summer visitor proposed just changing the name, but local officials opposed the idea. Julia Richie from North Country Public Radio explains why Michael Al Kamo lives in New York City but loves visiting the Adirondack Mountains and upstate New York to cycle through its tiny towns and Hamlets and past historical cemeteries. He was on a trip like this winding through a remote stretch this summer when he noticed something else. Suddenly I came to a town called Watch. The Hamlets name was printed on a small brown street sign. He says he found the name jarring and disrespectful to Veterans of World War two, some of whom are buried in graves nearby, So I think it should be obvious that the town Should update its name and should pick a name that is not so offensive to so many Americans and so emblematic of intolerance, hate and tyranny. So al Comer reached out to county officials in August to see if they would consider it. He was soon directed to email the town of Black Brooke. Which has jurisdiction over swastika. The town agreed to add it to the agenda for their September meeting. And after about five minutes of discussion, the town's for counselors unanimously voted against it. So basically Was named by the founders of the area that settled there. That's black Brooke Supervisor John Douglas, who was at the meeting but didn't have a vote. None of the counsellors returned to request for comment. Douglas Saysthe Hamlets named far predates World War two and came from the Sanskrit word meaning well being the foresighted geometric character that represents the swastika has been used for thousands of years in Indian religions and seen as a symbol of good luck. Of course, That meeting was overshadowed beginning in the 19 thirties with the rise of Adolf Hitler, who co opted the swastika as a symbol for Nazism and anti Semitism. Douglas says. This is not the first time the Hamlets name has been scrutinized. There was concern that due to the Germans that everything that people may I have a different outlook on the name and some of the residents that were from that area actually fought or two and refused to change the name just because Hitler tried to tarnish the meaning of swastika. Douglas says the council didn't see a reason to change the name despite its widespread use as a symbol of hate and white supremacy today, I think that probably Maybe some viewpoint that it's associated with a butt that I believe there's others that do not associate it with. Hey, did the Hindus in the booth and All them today erase it from their religious history because of the Germans, Al Kamo. The cyclists who submitted the request was disappointed by the town's reaction. I didn't expect a quick, apparently quick, unanimous vote to reject the proposal. Social media response to the decision has been murkier, with some locals of the region bristling on Facebook at an outsider from New York City trying to meddle in rural affairs. But Malcolm Oh says he simply wants more people to see the Adirondacks for its natural beauty and deep history history, he says, at odds with the meaning of swastika today

"Time to slow down a little your. Time now. More, than pursue it was it was much I. It's still nice but I'm definitely. At a point now where? Be going, to bed. At like. I'm in like some. Like nine thirty. Every night I've only going to bed. So early every night so very well rested the first time in a long time. So now I'm like h Tina. Traveling, place I'm I'm ready but. All the time. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Man I mean maybe as a way to get into it, I wanted to ask you about this because you're one of the few people I've talked to WHO's actually had this experience you did at least one of those drive in shows, right? Yeah I did one in. It's not technically Charlotte but it's called the fountain. Outside a Shar like. Forty five minutes as a shirt. That I mean walk me through that experience because I'm I'm so curious what it actually felt like to play one of those shows, right? Well, you know it's interesting because. I feel like. Every. Time. They're still I guess every week or so. The climate surrounding. Coronavirus or country or if you wanna Mike. Rugged down to what we do in music. History. Shows and safety every week or every couple of waste seems like there's a different. Tone to. The overall consensus of. Or what's not or what's what's what's considered okay, and what's not considered okay. So at the time of Accepting the drive in at the very beginning of the pandemic but that's Close closer to beginnings. He's ideas started coming on board around and I was like well only if it's safe and. assured was assured it was going to be running with all the precautions. needed. Sauza guy let's do it At least could say I did warn in my lifetime looking back on this and. The entire experience break down it was so. So. Interesting. But it was also really great on the road team. Have that one little sense of normalcy for the back with that family right? Because that's family were disconnected from right now. Yeah. Dude I. I feel like normally I spend majority of my year with these guys in the it's the first time I've seen him since probably February which was pretty wild. You're the show was It was it was interesting was very I know there's been a lot of mixture of us in a lot of controversy and a lot of different viewpoints on the drive in but my experience I can only speak it test mice during read. The people that were vice show of. It was. It was extremely safe I got there and Obviously it's. It's a it's an interesting way out stage is not normal stage, but you look out there near. Plot of land. It's massive view. It's actually in a beautiful area north. Carolina was palm land in your ads they will drive in the middle of nowhere. You know when he started when we got there for the show We had a little green room of whatever you WANNA, call it like the bandages office. Entire thing I'm looking at this? This is insane like hundreds and hundreds of cars, but all all within their confined space. And I was like nervous. We'll see our kids gonNA like. Kids. Tend to break rules Orlean at our bend the rules. Like a follow them until they get into an arcade screw, we're going to go your own thing. What I notice was everyone was actually like. Inner areas tailgating in their own area so We weren't like. Johnny not allowed to drive a students staged way to walk to the stage, which is totally GUAC panacea at all but I walk through these cars everyone like in their own spot hanging out with a small group of people everyone had their masks which I was nervous as. I. Don't want to be one of those things where. Everyone's in their mask and everyone's raging I'm like, please please please everyone is saw. A FROM MY CO engine stage wearing their masks surprisingly a lot of people were. Staying in their cars with all the tour shut listening to the music raging. That's interesting. That's kind of why were they was it on like a like an FM. Station people to so this was this was this was one of those ones amodio station June into classic drive in situation and A. was kind of interesting about the layout was we had a stage in its smaller stage. It wasn't a big festival Susan that. Was Cool. Is Right next to the right of. The movie was the wall movie projector. Only thing is like hundred tall was thing is. The biggest movie screen of. The had alive live streaming camera angle couple of angles of the media Jank from booth cameras hooked up there were projecting like live casting off the big screen and they had that makes in with I brought my vj. So he was able to to display my content. On this really cool large movie screen mixed into my live cam feed and. It was really cool. It was like I've never seen anything like that for a show like scream out large. That pretty interesting show itself. it's it's weird because we had my own borders. So they were like festivals don't monitor so loud for me on like a normal joe for me,

Dr Aaron Tressler, DC Making Pittsburgh Healthy

"Welcome back to another edition of the Islamic Pittsburgh podcast. We are a podcast along with our sister podcast moving to live. The firmly believes in the ethos movement is a lifestyle, not just an activity I've said before some of our best guests come from recommendations or searching around in the Internet today's guest is actually coming because he searched out on the Internet and found me a couple of months back in sent me an email and said, hey, I've got this podcast making Pittsburgh healthy and I'd like to interview you for it and we did the interview will post that in the show links you can go listen to that podcast in IT'S A. Great, example of breaking. Down Knowledge Silos because there's so much knowledge out there. Sometimes, you don't know where to turn or sometimes you're just not aware of it. So I'm really happy day to be talking to Dr Aaron Tressler He is a chiropractic physician. He has a podcast her and as somebody who's on the north side of fifty. Also, what I think is great is he's taking the ethos movement is a lifestyle seriously because it fifty plus years of age won't let him share how old is if he wants not only is he a regular mover but he still plays rugby. So Dr. Tressler. Thanks for taking time to TALK TO FIT lab. About Movement and about your podcast to which I think is a great thing. Well, thanks for having me on the show. Ben. I love sharing my story and I love to hopefully inspire motivate people to get healthier whenever journey there on hopefully today after today's episode, they'll do a little bit more and have fun and like. I'm always curious as people who listen to fill out Pittsburgh. No one of my first questions I always ask every guest is are you a Pittsburgh native if so why are you still here if not what brought you to Pittsburgh? I am I grew up about forty five minutes east of Pittsburgh in the country and a went to slippery rock, my health and physical education specializing especially when. Back in nineteen, eighty seven and I moved West Palm Beach Florida get my teaching job when I was lived on there I began playing rugby there. I said they'll never come back. I said I have not coming back to the snow went to Chiropractic school in Georgia life and I chose that because it had the best rugby team. In any Brackley School, what are the best in the nation? And then after that, we had one daughter we my wife was pregnant with our second and I thought we gotta get we should get close to family so I did the trip back to Pittsburgh and I've been here ever since twenty six years here so and I love it it's it's great. So I'm always interested to hear when somebody does a career change into go from teaching to Chiropractic although I think you would agree that as a chiropractor you are teaching or educating it's just a different body but what was it at a? As a young teacher in high school or junior high school or elementary school says, okay I'm done with this. I'M GONNA. Go to chiropractic school. How did you find that path? It sounds crazy I I really believe God led my path the was orchestrating it. I didn't know at the time but I was Going back to slippery rock, they did a phenomenal job teaching. Physical Education is an education without her physical body. We have nothing that's how I look at it and. They so I, I graduated with the Palm Beach and It was looked at as like a gym teacher and remember parents saying to me once Did, you have to go to school to be a gym teacher and it just Just irked me. Teachers didn't understand the importance of integrating physical movement with the kids were they would say, Hey, the kids they didn't get their schoolwork that we're going to keep him out of your class to get their math at the wait a second. This is physical movement. This is just as important learning three plus three. So I had the best school in Jupiter Florida, a brand new school I was so frustrated I visited like university in Atlanta and I saw the rugby team and the rugby players me into just do it and you'll love it. It's great. I said, we're planning to get married my wife and I I said that let's do it. She said, okay. So I finished up my third year teaching got married. Atlanta Georgia playing rugby like two weeks later and I woke up thinking, how will you get here? So I love to I love Chiropractic I love integrating exercise movement nutrition lifestyle choices with the body and keeping his body healthy because it is absolutely incredible. I'm also always curious how people find out. There sports activities are the lifetime of movement where was it? You were first exposed to rugby from. What your age is, I. Know that that point in time in the late seventies early eighties a high school student. Rugby. Probably. Wasn't that comet I mean it's still common but I know there's a few teams in the Pittsburgh area. I. Never heard of it. I. Played Sports was a little kid by love football baseball and then going to slippery rock I didn't play their played intramural stuff and they talked about the rugby team I thought that's crazy. I am not playing rugby. You guys are saying when I moved to Florida my roommate. On the rugby team and I was playing softball for local church and I was the crazy I was diving into at second base diving for every ball. I'd leap filthy broken and this is a church league and they're looking me saying why you're doing this. If you'RE GONNA play all up. So my roommate talked me into visiting watching a game. So I went watch the game thinking that this is going to be brutally insane I. Loved it. I thought this is this is just what I want for pair spikes on a mouthpiece. The next Tuesday I was at practice and that was back in nineteen, eighty, eight of fifty. Four and I've been playing almost consistently several years off and on with the team Kinda folded up in that. Yeah. Fifty four still going strong. It's like celery shot shut me with some some rugby blood in my system and I can't get it up. My wife thinks I'm crazy but I think she's given up on trying to talk me out with this one.

ON The Frontlines Of The Youth Climate Strikes

"This week we go to the frontlines of the youth climate strike movement. There are hundreds of protests going on all around the world today as young people, school children from Australia to Iceland come together to protest about what they're calling the crisis of their lifetime climate change. Of course, what they see is politicians inability or unwillingness to do anything about it to the global protests that is underway right now, students and workers all around the world of flooding the streets demanding action on climate change, Maggie, Rulli that a demonstration in London with the latest Michael with thousands of protesters, right underneath parliament, and what's so striking besides just the sheer size of protesters here are. The age of people who are demonstrating almost all of them are students that's hiding just nine years old. We spoke to a group of seventeen year olds who said they're here today to fight for their future. Now, the goal of this strike, really all these strikes around the world it's a send a clear message to world leaders ahead of the UN climate summit happening this week in New York climate change protests happening right now in lower Manhattan this is video from chopper four showing the massive crowd marching from Foley Square the courthouses down to the battery among the people flooding city streets were students who were allowed to skip class today to join this 'cause. I told with Jerome Foster. who had seven sounded watching documentaries about our planet go activated and started climate blogging creating virtual reality platforms social justice. He's now eighteen has been climate striking for eighty one weeks in front of the white. House. He founded one million of us to get youth to vote this November Jerome is one of eleven million people from over one hundred and forty countries the climate striking and skipping school to tell us we need to act now. I stopped by asking Jerome where he is now. I'm visiting New York City I just moved here for college, but I was born and raised in Washington DC. I'm going to college at Peace University and Columbia Columbia basically majoring in computer science specializing artificial intelligence. are distance-learning others are like mixed waken coming class in? Their dorm near the off his classes, some of them, most of my classes right now are digital. Have One. Now. So tell me about growing up in DC and kind of what led you to get into the place where you founded the organization one, million US. So where I grew up in Washington DC right around like places. And forests and those like a huge place for me to explore my neighborhood. So I kinda grew up getting in touch with nature and after years of like understanding what nature wasn't had really appreciate it. I started watching documented by astrophysics and learning about like what are world's about like what a black holes water were imposed all these cool late science things, and after that, I started watching documentaries about my own planet and how our planet fit into. Astrophysics. into the rest of the world that every time they talk about something else beautiful it's like but humans are burning it down and but. Are Continuing to extract coal and an oil and natural gas to power earth than is going to continue to see species go extinct and like that was kind of a wake up call for me understanding that our earth is actually has like trouble going on but still being like six or seven years old was like. This isn't that big of an issue. Adults are GonNa fix this adults definitely going to step up and take action but Learning later on like it didn't happen. That's that's not the story as the navy faded it. kind of grew into another understanding that like if the corruption is the unwillingness to have moral clarity won't stand up to corporations and that they don't have the political leadership to acting say, we need to hold you accountable and like as older I was like, how can I get into? Really. Getting their attention actually taking action when my friends kind of toby lunch table they're like, Hey, you should start into pitch. Okay. Cool. So like for sixth seventh and Eighth Grade I posted every single day. and. Like facts and got to like and I was like I got to convince that climate change because back then like global warming is a hoax and everyone believed that that was the big struggle and like today it's not that same conversation. It's about how do we take action but back then it was all about is it real? And I did that for six eighth grade in ninth grade I trying to transition. To. More technology and building I reality environments. So I mean when you say like it's ten years, it has been view like if he started when you seven that. Yeah. I started virtuality company called Vr, and basically it was the idea that like we can use virtuality. Gaming Place, but actually civic engagement accident building empathy only a few people will be able to see it because it's so expensive to create and it's so hard. Tribute it out. So I, kind of transition into. into journalism and it was because I started watching my documentaries again. It was Leonardo DiCaprio's before the flood and like in the last five minutes he said we need commentators then covered as if it's a lot we need young people we need people to come out here and start talking about time change in a new way. So I was like I can do that. There's like I'm I'm I'm with around blood so like two hours. Later I I email my English teacher in accurate a blog called the climb reporter and one hundred, sixty, five articles like eight months and determine about climate change from east perspective sounds like we need young people in this movement because our future is directly at stake people will say their children's children but we're the Stojan. At this point we waited fifty years to take action. Our Future. Now,

COVID-19 Transmission is Solvable

"I wanted to star. With a really dumb obvious question, which is, can you describe to me all the ways in which you can look for the presence of virus that you would be? Well, that's not an obvious question at all. Within each virus viruses just like. Any other thing they have a genetic code, and then they have a bunch of proteins and the genetic code of a virus is Arnie, which is akin to a human's DNA, and so the same way that you could do a forensic investigation of a crime scene and use DNA defined if there was a human specific human at the crime scene, you can do a forensic investigation to look for Ra to know if there was an inside of a person so. That's one way and that's this tool that these molecular tools that we call PCR, and then there's a different way instead of using the genetic makeup and the Arna to look for the virus. In this case, you could actually look for the proteins that make up the virus and that's where these antigen tests really shine. So you can either look for the genetic code or you could look for the proteins I like to call these rapid antigen tests, transmission indicating tests. There's one other major way which is a quickly and that's to. Look for the immunological response to the virus, because humans are good at making immune response to viruses. So it's a different way and that's antibody based detection but that's I put it in a whole different category because it usually comes after infection. Yeah. So the first way looking for the aren a is the kind of gold standard that's exactly right and so if I go to the hospital and get a today, get a Cova test, the looking for giving me the using to see if I have fires in my system that's right and what's the cheapest that a PC tests could produce result that actual price of tests can be done for about six bucks maybe. Even less so it can be really cheap, but the differences, the whole infrastructure around PCR test they have to be done in labs. So you have logistics of transport you have all of the people working in the lab robots and and so generally, it really drives the cost up and as we've seen the average test costs anywhere from thirty dollars at the absolute low end up to one hundred and fifty dollars for some labs that are charging in contrast be CR, two antigen tests. How do engine chess? What do they look like? What's their cost in time profile they? They look like a pregnancy test and they work like a pregnancy test actually they can be made. A little piece of paper generally speaking. You put some of the sample whether that be some swab that's been mixed with some saline solution or saliva onto a paper strip, and it shows up with a line turns either for example, red if it's positive or blue, it's negative and those can be made in the in huge numbers. They don't require instruments they don't usually require. There's a few on the market right now that to get the. Sensitivity at the FDA wanted they have some instrumentation associated but in reality, these are used for malaria strep for all these different infections they've been around for very long time and they can be done just on a piece of paper and five minutes and they could get down to you can produce them for fractions of a dollar and they might be sold to the public or built by the government for. A dollar apiece or something along those lines. So you're you've been a the perhaps the leading public proponent public health proponent of. Using Antigen, tests much more broadly to fight this. Derek and I wanted to the first time I. Heard you give this argument you convince me about two minutes. And I still don't understand why why don't we have this system because I can imagine a world where if it's this if they're cheaper easy, then you know every kid before they went to school in the morning. Would take one of these fifty cents or one dollar tests, and if they were positive, they would say home in their negative we would know that could go to school like. If, I want to go to a restaurant, why can't I just sat stand investable the restaurant take test and wait for my response and if I'M If I'm negative I get to go to the restaurant it just strikes me as. This is a way to get going again. Why are we not doing this? Can you explain that I can I have a few theories I. mean they're not just theories. They're they're. In the middle of this. So these tests because of this whole sensitivity issue early in March or really in January the world decided that was the gold standard for these tests and I don't think and I that this will maybe come. We'll come across wrong for some people but there hasn't been enough thought place into what exactly does the PR test mean, and is it the right gold standard? The only pathway that we have to evaluate tests like this in the United States are medical diagnostic pathways there pathways designed specifically to ensure that a physician like a detective is getting all of the information they need to diagnose a sick person in front of them so it's really been. First and foremost a regulatory hurdle we have so devalued and de funded public health across our country and really across the world. That we actually didn't, we don't have a regulatory pathway to approve test whose primary objective is is one of stopping an epidemic verses one of diagnosing sick person and that has really led. That's everything up all of the companies that could be producing these these really rapid tests in the millions and millions they have been sitting on these tests trying to hone them trying to get them just a little bit better just a little bit better so that the so that they can pass FDA standards as a medical diagnostic. It's not just slowing down their approval and getting them out to the public. It's actually bottle necking the company's into creating tests that are not going to be as scalable because they're having to use more expensive reagents they're starting to put them with instruments and package them more. They have to actually become more expensive, highly manufactured tests. When in reality, they're just these little pieces of paper. That if we can do the cheap version of they can be made very fast, but they just won't get through the FDA at the moment

Luther and Difficult Times

"On this episode of five minutes in Church history, we are returning to spend some time with a good friend of ours Martin Luther, and we are looking at Martin Luther. And Difficult Times actually luther had many moments of difficulty in his life. But one of those moments was the peasants revolt of fifteen, twenty, four to fifteen five. Other uprisings in Germany immediately prior to the reformation. But in fifteen, twenty, four to twenty five. This was a much larger insurrection historians estimate that as many as three hundred thousand peasants were involved in this rebellion at various times and in various places. One of the flashpoints for this was in a place called Swabia. Swabia is in southwestern Germany. It's pretty far away from Pittsburgh, a good four hundred or five hundred kilometers or so to the south and slightly West it's down near Munich. It's beautiful country with rivers and. and. Snow. Capped Mountain peaks and fabled castles dotting the landscape in. Swabia is the city of Berg. Will in a few years after this peasants revolt will come into play in a major way and Luther is life. But back in fifteen, twenty, four, fifteen, twenty, five, the peasants in Swabia produced a document called the twelve articles of the peasants in Swabia. It called for in. The list of serfdom they raised various points of contention. and Prince's of the land. It's prefaced with an idea that this is rooted in the Gospel and that their understanding of the application of the Gospel has led them to this. So they published this and this was right in the throes of the peasant rebellion, and of course, the Lord's in the prince's were responding and both sides were claiming luther. Luther was brought into it in fact even the Roman Catholics. Sitting outside of Germany and watching all of this we're blaming Luther for this tumult and for this troubling time in Germany. So Luther responds he writes text that is simply titled a reply to the Twelve articles of the peasants in Swabia. He addresses his thoughts and advice to the peasants. He addresses advice to the nobles and he walk through each of the twelve articles and then he gives a conclusion. To bottom line his advice to the prince's Luther says this for rulers are not appointed to exploit their subjects for their own profit and advantage, but to be concerned about the welfare of their subjects. His bottom line chastisement of the peasants comes a little bit later in his document when Luther says. Preface, that is the preface of their document. You are conciliatory and claim that you do not want to be rebels. You even excuse your actions by claiming that you desire to teach and to live according to the Gospel, and then Luther says your own words and actions condemn you. So Luther was trying to draw attention to both sides of the issues they were having and draw them back to the. Table. So to speak to discuss what Luther says to pursue natural law and to pursue justice and he said to both parties used to do so without assuming that God is on your side and rather just act whether you are Lord or Prince or whether you are a peasant in a way that is keeping with the natural law of God has revealed in the natural order and in the pursuit. Of Justice. So Luther will give us the final word here in a classic statement now dear people there is nothing Christian on either side and nothing Christian is at issue between you. Both Lords and peasants are discussing questions of justice and injustice in natural or worldly terms. Furthermore, both parties are acting against God and are under his wrath as you've heard for God's sake. Then take my advice take A. Hold of these matters properly with justice and not with force or violence and do not start endless bloodshed in Germany for because both of you are wrong and both of you want to avenge and defend yourselves. Both of you will destroy yourselves and God will use one rascal to flog another.

What if lifesaving prescriptions were affordable for all

"Hi Hugh Ted Talks Daily today a super cool idea to ensure people have access to the medicines they need to survive and thrive Kia Williams the founder of the nonprofit serum saw both a problem and a solution that exists in the pharmaceutical space and her idea link. The two together should explain in her talk from Ted Twenty twenty. Every day in this country families are forced to make impossible choices when it comes to their healthcare. Like Kimberly who said? There is time I to choose between my food and my pills. It wasn't luxury stuff because I didn't make that much. It was like, can I get shampoo or conditioner? Things you take for granted and Debbie. Who Said you put your medicine in one hand your living costs in the other. Okay. Well, what am I going to do? Am I GONNA get my medicine or am I gonNA pay my bills? Will. I can't live without my medicine but I can't live if I don't pay my bills ten thousand people die every month in this country because they don't take the medicine that they need. More people die from not taking medications than. Overdoses and car accidents combined. But you can't take medicine if you can't afford it. Today the average household spends three thousand dollars a year on medications about a third of folks who are uninsured said that they stopped taking medicine as prescribed because of cost even folks with insurance. If they make under thirty, five, thousand dollars a year half of them report skipping the medications if their insurance doesn't cover it. So there are. Million adults like Kimberly in like Debbie who are forced to make impossible choices every day. We all know that prescription drug prices are too high. In our healthcare system that makes some folks uninsured and other folks underinsured doesn't prioritize people who need access now and need medications. Now, ten million, it's a big number, but it's also a solvable number because there's also ten billion dollars of perfectly good unused medication that goes to waste. So this is an injustice onto sides people not getting the medicine that they need to survive and to thrive. In, that very same medication being sent to a medical waste incinerator to be destroyed this waste is unconscionable, but it also offers an opportunity I started serum a not for profit technology company with my co founders Adam and George. To turn discarded medications into a lifeline, we may not be able to fix all the ways in which our healthcare system is failing us, but we can fix this one. Medications come from manufacturers wholesalers who have safety stock, and when it's short dated, they destroy it. It also comes from healthcare facilities like fiddles pharmacies in nursing homes who end up with surplus when a patient stops taking medication or when they pass away. We can use this untapped source of medications to supply all ten million people who need medications, and we can do this today. Serum get surplus medications by putting recycling bins into the hundreds of facilities that have surplus they fill the been and when the boxes full serum initiates a courier pickup to pick up that medication in we handle the shipping the tracking the manifests in the tax receipt medicine donors want to donate because it's actually cheaper and easier than the highly regulated medicine destruction process. And they're strong tax incentives to actually donate. We then deliver those donated medications to people who needed a new prescription comes in in our platform matches that patient need with the inventory that's available. Our platform then generates a warehouse pick lists. The medications are picked in the prescription spills. We are building the twenty-first-century pharmacy experience that low income families deserve patients can register in under five minutes and have access to over five hundred different medications A. Stable list of medications for everything from heart disease to mental health conditions

Heading into the Election, What Would You Say About the Tough Issues of 2020?

"Year ago the Colson Center launched an ambitious project that would equip Christians with answers to our cultures toughest questions, the kind of questions that tend to generate more heat than light whenever they come up the kind that many Christians tend to shy away from with this resource we hope to see Christians running into those conversations about God, Morality Truth and culture not running away from them. While the what would you say project is a reality. It's a video series with each video answering a single difficult question with answers that are trustworthy, credible, understandable, most importantly sharable among the questions we've tackled just in this past year our. Science and religion opposed to one another as critical theory biblical. When does life began? Does ripe justify abortion does the existence of intersex people proved that there are more than two genders how about this one was Jesus is socialist or does porn improve relationships to the Crusades? Prove that Christianity is a violent religion. You know all those easy questions that Christians get these videos can be found at either what would you say dot org or by going to the? So for these videos have been viewed over a million times now over the next twelve weeks or so with the election season in full gear, we've planned to set videos to tackle the various political and policy questions and issues that are front and center on everyone's minds. These videos will not only equip Christians for conversations about the presidential campaign and the place of faith in elections in the Public Square. But also about those issues that are central to state and local ballots, including abortion restrictions, education economics, race, and civic responsibility. For example, to videos already available address questions that many young people have about economics questions that have led this emerging generation to lean more socialist direction these videos are is. The answer and this capitalism only benefit the rich and over the next few weeks, we're going to release videos at tackled two questions having to do with the political side of abortion i. what happens when someone says I don't like abortion, but I don't think it should be illegal for everyone and according to a recent study. There's a significant number of Americans who think that abortion is wrong but are reticent to make any legal changes to its status including to even to horrific practices such as later term abortions. This is an issue on the Colorado ballot this year shamefully my state is. One of only nine that remain in which later term abortion is allowed. In fact, our states most famous late-term abortionists kills over two hundred so-called viable fetuses a year. That's why by the way we've scheduled, what would you say video on the issue of late-term abortions and early October and other series of what would you say videos? We'll tackle questions about voting. Why should Christians vote what if I don't like any of the candidates? Should I vote anyway and of course, how should we respond to that old line I'm not gonNA vote my vote won't make a difference anyway each what would You say video is short and it's sharable only about four or five minutes long. It's animated and interesting well researched solidly grounded in Scripture and based and a Christian worldview each what would you say video will leave you with three or four memorable points to help you weighed confidently into these tough conversations and to help you prepare for the craziness of the next several weeks we've created a downloadable full-color what would you say booklet based on the videos and entitled Your Guide for talking about the tough issues of two thousand twenty this resource walks you through hot button issues such as abortion. Critical theory whether Christians should avoid politics. My voting is just the beginning of our civic responsibilities. This booklets available with any donation to breakpoint in the Colson Center. Biden press secretary accuses Trump campaign of funneling questions to Fox News in spar with anchor

"Biden Eyes in Michigan, Joe Biden says Democrats in Michigan. Who voted for him and Obama twice but then voted for Donald Trump. Are basically Racists. This is a county that President Obama and you carried twice on then President Trump carried by 12% points in 2016. Why do you think so Many of these voters turned against the Democratic Party in 2016. You know, I think it was the feeling that they were taking for granted. I don't know that for a fact. And I think that he he used that dog whistle on race. That's one hell of a way to try to get back Those votes. And Michigan and Wisconsin accused them of B was being closet Racists. AAA racist that voted for me and Obama there. Ah! Yeah, they bought into the dog whistle. That's a home strategy. Bolt. What is a bold strategy? Cotton now as bad as Joe Biden is on camera His campaign press secretary is worse. No way. T J Duck Low Just this little weaselly looking dude, he made the mistake of going on with Bret Bear on Fox News yesterday. And listen. Bright bears, not a got your questions kind of guy. He's pretty straight up. As a matter of fact, he was asking some easy yes or no questions. And it didn't really go well for Biden's press secretary. What specifically would the former vice president have done? Well, let's get a few things straight. The vice president was not against the travel ban. First of all, second of all, let's let's remember, and he wasn't Brett. Let's remember an important distinction. Donald Trump was the president of the United States. It was on Donald. I'm asking you, Joe Budden. It was on the was Donald action toe actually protect the PT closed the travel that show Biden wrote an op ed in USA Today in January, warning that the threat was coming. Joe Biden said in February that Donald Trump should get people on the ground in China. What did what did Donald Trump do? Donald Trump was praising China. Donald Trump was praising President. She's response, saying that they had it under control. When clearly he knew, as we now know, from Bob Woodward. They did not have it under control. He should have been protecting the American people. He should have been putting real plans in place. So let me just confront in clinically dangerous. Understand. Let me just clarify your saying that Joe Biden was for closing down travel from China when the president did it. Joe Biden has been cleared. I continue the fact checks if they're helpful, Brett Joe Biden has been clear that he was not against that travel ban that he was for Joe Biden has been clear about how I can continue the fact checks if they're helpful. This has been fact checked into oblivion. Okay, I'm just asking the question. You're saying yes. He was for the shit. China travel ban when the president implemented it. 2 48 hours after receiving that briefing, the important thing about the travel babe, But I know that you will like to cite the travel ran. I know that. You know the president does. That's why I'm bringing it up are obviously it's going to be in the debate. Hold on. The important thing to know about the travel ban is that even after the president implemented that travel ban, tens of thousands of people came in and out, Take it. Then what was the question? You're going to send me some back goes on like this for, like, five minutes. This poor dude. TJ Duck Low, the campaign press secretary. He's worse on camera than Biden. Now, Here's Brett Baer asking a very simple question. Does Joe Biden have the questions coming to him in a teleprompter? Does he have his responses in a TelePrompTer because that's one of the allegations of the Trump campaign is saying Let's see how this question goes. Nobody ever used to teleprompter during local interviews or to answer Q and a with supporters were not goingto get this is this is straight from the Trump campaign they're using and what it does, and what it does is it's trying to distract the American just from there using and they talk about it every day. When you say yes or no, That's what they talk about it every day break because they don't have a coherent you answer Yes or no, Brett. They talked about it every day because they don't have a coherent argument for why Donald Trump. Deserves reelection deserves four more years. We know that he lied to the American people. We know that he has not shown leadership during this crisis, and they are desperate to throw anything they can against the wall to try to distract from the fact I understand, But you can't answer the question, but I am not going to allow. Okay, Trump campaign toe, funnel their questions through Fox News and get me to respond to that. So that's a no. Or yes, I don't even know why I got the question, wouldn't you? If you say no. If that was the case does Joe Biden use a teleprompter? When the answering questions to the press If the answer was no, wouldn't you? Would there be a problem saying? No. I understand the problem saying Yes, right. Why would you just lie? No, Not at all. Yeah, And then and then the other one. Well, well, You know what? I'm actually gonna have the E mail you the answer the memories. He's gonna email brown bear the fact checks right? I'll email you The fact checkers. Google Google? Yeah, That's not a good answer you You know it's bad when Joe Biden's coming up to you saying Listen, Kenny, you're pretty bad on camera, sir. My name's not Kenny. It doesn't matter. You're not allowed to speak on camera anymore. And this is coming from me. Joe Biden

"Welcome, back to the outcome rocket podcasts for re chat with today's most successful and inspiring healthcare leaders really wish that you could visit us at outcomes rockets dot health slash reviews where you can rate and review today's episode. We have an amazing guest. His name is Jacob Levinson he's the CEO at map help management. Jacobs. Extensive career is focused on being very dialed into the healthcare center. He's member of board of Directors Levinson. Foundation privately funded Philanthropic Organization Charter to really develop, manage, and fund diverse portfolio and humanitarian activities around the world. He's a member try private capital. He's just done so many things in realm of just contributing to this humanitarian. Capacity that his fit in health care makes so much sense and you guys all hear the passionate voice when we dive deeper. But what I WANNA do is open up the microphone to Jacob. So he could fill in the gaps in the introduction Jacob Welcome to the PODCAST. Thanks for having me excited to be on with you know get good job introduction nothing to add looking forward to next forty five minutes or so of of hitting some of these were topics absolutely in so Jacob why did you decide to get into the medical sector? You could have done so many things, but you decided to land here. Why asked myself that often? It's like a Greek tragedy. For your run from it, the more you run into it. So I grew up around a lot of active substance use disorder in my house it. Oh, child of the late eighties nineties KINDA GROPE UNSEEN KINDA staff and Watch family members struggle, and the last thing I ever wanted to do was a line my professional career with anything that had to do with addiction or substance use disorder. So of course, that's exactly what happened. It wasn't by choice it was I I don't know some sort of gravitational pull maybe back to what I knew. So I it's no I don't think it's any secret that you grow up kind of around substance use disorder, and then someone like me ends up involved in writing algorithms to detect active substance use I. Mean I've been doing it too right. So I don't know if there's a coherent explanation but I was born. Into the addiction world in that sense. Yeah. It was woven into your fiber as as kid and it was sorta like something you've been doing. So why not continue to do it? There's a lot of work that needs to be done in this space out there and I felt like that we had an opportunity to make some change and we need to put our best foot forward go do something. So yeah, it's exciting time and really pivotal Kinda critical juncture in history we're watching so many things transformed are going to drive this for the next generation to generation. So kind of having a a front seat of somebody that's really exciting. Yeah that's super exciting and so for the listeners, maybe you could dive in a little bit on what some of the work that you guys do and how it's relevant to the space shirt. So I'll try to keep it simple. We focus predominantly on individuals who have a substance use disorder diagnosis. What we call addiction is to kind of put that some staggering terms twenty two and a half twenty, three, million Americans fit the criteria for substance use disorder, which is a big number of that high. High, and this year to bigger number mind blowing than national economic impact of substance abuse a little bit different than substance use disorder but substance abuse is about seven hundred, forty, billion dollars annually. So that's almost in line with our national defense budget. But that's things work lost productivity. That's every dollar that is extended. If you will as a result of substance abuse sweeping up glass after you I rex everything. So and trump a couple of weeks ago declared this a public health emergency, a public emergency. We have a public health crisis opioid crisis, which is grabbing headlines Yes, but it's by far not the number one cost driver, nor is it the number one kind of killer in Dash Ud world if you will out well, let's set tobacco aside but alcohol far kills more people than opiates still to this day just doesn't do it in a headline grabbing away like a fictional overdose but to jump to question quickly, we managed people who have a sense use disorder diagnosis using peers, I mean people. Who are in successful recovery but what we do the truly interesting we tech enable them and we date enable them. So we put a lot of tech and other tools at their fingertips that help them identify people who are struggling, make better decisions and helping them ultimately, the whole game here is to improve outcomes for people, substance use disorder, and chip away at that seven hundred, forty billion dollars that were emerging as a nation.

"Occasionally. Even Nastase Curiosity rover stops to gaze at the stars. This is innovation. Now, bringing you stories behind the ideas that shave our future it was the two, thousand, seven, hundred, eighty, four, th day, or soul on Mars. NASA's curiosity rover aimed its mast cameras skyward about seventy five minutes. After sunset the purpose of the brief I session was to gauge the twilight brightness during this time of the year on Mars, there's more dust in the air to reflect sunlight making it particularly bright similar to bright twilights on earth after large volcanic eruptions on this particular evening the dust in the Martian. Atmosphere was thick enough that not even moderately bright stars were visible, but a to image twilight. Panorama reveals earth in one frame and Venus in the other both planets appear as mere pinpoints of light in the distance since landing in two thousand twelve, the rover has captured Blue Martian sunsets, passing asteroids and images of Mars two moons, Phobos, and Dimas as they transited across the sun and the images captured by curiosity make astronomers here on earth long for a chance at stargazing for months

"five minute" Discussed on Five Minute Feng Shui

"All cover funkaway topics that can help you improve your life sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Today we are talking about the good life I don't know about you but I love the good life to me. The good life is traveling where I want staying in beautiful hotels. There is nothing I. Love than a luxurious hotel, the feel of those Italian sheets. Oh my gosh. You know we all have different definitions of what is the good life for some people it's having a big big old boat to go on cruising around the lake or the ocean in Maybe for others it's too expensive car maybe it's a closet full of fabulous clothing jewels. You know we all have a different definition about it, but here's one thing that I think we all agree on having that material success that comes with. Having. Success is part of the good life whether that you have a better class of wine or you can afford champagne more often maybe you have beautiful jewelry and clothing nice handbags expensive shoes that thing we all have different. Expectations of life but one of the things that we can pretty much all agree on is that there are certain things that we have that make life the good life maybe it's a nice home maybe it's a home with a view maybe it's a an exotic vacation and like I said maybe for you or if you're like me you like a lovely hotel, there's nothing that makes me feel more opulent or pampered than staying in a beautiful. Hotel last year Tim and I went to Italy. We went to Venice, and then we went to Paris and then to epernay. France and we stayed in some beautiful places that I just you know it's something that you just dream of having coffee and breakfast delivered to your room. That's another thing. That's the good life for me I love having Room Service Tim makes fun of me because he likes to go and get coffee to starbucks or go. To the restaurant after we get up in the morning whereas I liked to have? Oh Gosh breakfast in bed brought to me, oh. There's just nothing more special I love Saint Regis hotels because when you stay at them, they have a personal butler who comes to your room and brings you coffee in the morning. So that's just part of staying at those hotels We stayed in one Saint Regis Hotel in Kyoto on the had a little. Private box that you're Butler has access to, and you could get your shoeshine. You could leave things in there and he would take care of them or you wake up in the morning and there would be a tray with gleaming Silver Coffee Pot in China cups to drink out of at just makes me feel great That's what I love. There's another thing that I love in that flowers frequently I love to have fresh flowers in the house. I bet you have certain things that you love to have. It's a big walking closet or you know A. Designer brand clothes you know whatever it is maybe if it's a maybe you've got a large screen, TV that you've got your eye on. Here's what I want you to know funkaway can help you get the good life, and that's because there is a part of your home that corresponds with the good life, and that is the front in the front of your Hong Corresponds to an area known as the Phoenix footstool now I bet you haven't heard much about that but we always here in functionally all about turtles and tortoises in the back of the home and supported the rear and all that kind of stuff. Well, the Phoenix is all about fun. It is it is a an element that corresponds to fire fire is about joy and optimism just think about how how slick, so warm and inviting when candles or flickering, and there's a fire in the fireplace. Fire is the element of fun enjoyment pleasure, success material awards. This is. One of the areas that it's like this is what makes life living yes it is great to have a good income and a good job, but the material rewards that we enjoy our lives whether that's that's a boat, a nice car beautiful home This is what makes life worth living. This is what makes life enjoyable and pleasurable, and this is what the Phoenix is all about. Now, the Phoenix, as you may recall from your your Lore and history is that this is the bird that would burn down and then rise again from the ashes. So this episode is Yes actually timed it's ninety nine, which is the which is the number nine is the number of fire and. Kind of coordinate sometimes with my the numbers of the episode and the the topics just like today because this is like a double fire number ninety nine, this is my ninth episode. In the Phoenix what other bird is is representative of fire. Now, before I jump in really quick I want to tell you that the episode podcast episode five, minute sanctuary one hundred is coming up at a very special gift for you and you'll only hear about it. You'll only know about it if you listen in to five minute punctuates insure to stay tuned for podcast episode one, hundred because I have a gift for you as my thank you for listening but let's Get back to this Phoenix footstool because it is the funniest thing in functional, it is the thing that is all about enjoyment and pleasure. So let's talk about that. Now as I mentioned earlier, we talked about the the tortoise, but let's back up even further. Let's talk about the armchair position. Now, the armchair position refers to the way your home is sited on your lot. So now for you apartment dwellers, you know you'll just have to hang in there with this Because, you can still have your Phoenix footstool to we'll talk about that. But the armchair position generally relates to the way your home is sited on land. So you typically want to have the the back of the House has a little rise or slope upwards or level is perfectly fine but we don't want is to have a house that falls away at the rear because this is just It's one of those things where it's like sitting on a stool all day yet the stool gives you a place to sit but not very comfortable for very long and you're back mind hurt that's because. You have little support and so having that rise is a is a an environmental symbol of the tortoise. The Tortoise provides support and it provides longevity just like you can sit in a chair with the back on it much longer than you can milking stool. It's the that kind of concept. Now, you also WanNa have I as you. If you can imagine if your your house looking toward the street on the left, you WanNa have a little bit of a rise or tall house next to you if you can if that's that's always ideal and on the right, maybe a little bit lower. Or shorter house What we definitely don't WanNa have is is a small house in between two big houses that that creates a whole other set of problems and that's a whole podcast. So. But the armchair position is something that is fairly widely known about funkaway. It's the idea that if your. Spouse were in a chair it would be an armchair there would be a nice high back. There would be a place to rest your arms on either side, and then here's what we're talking about today, and there would be a footstool for your feet. So you kind of want to imagine your house as an armchair and that there is an you know I don't know about you. But I love chairs like club chairs or bear share chairs that have that footstool that comes with them or maybe like a a nice. Cushion of some kind that you can put your feet up on. When you're sitting in that chair, we wanted to have a little rise little mound in front of our house, and that represents like our house where we were city seated in our house. We had that rise behind us and our we could put our feet out in front. Now, we're going to talk a little bit more about how you can represent. That in your landscape but this is how we want to view this this idea of the Phoenix footstool because really when you think about success and like you have arrived, what are you doing? You're relaxing right you're sitting there in your footstool with your feet up, you're drinking your champagne or your coffee or tea or whatever it is. Your is your favorite libation and you're able to relax. That's because once you've arrived. In. In financial terms you've also arrived materially. So for instance, may be have beautiful jewelry or nice clothing or a car that you enjoy driving those material possessions are the things that that make us feel good. That gives us a little bit more posh feeling. Maybe make us feel a little bit more spoiled. And Hey, there is nothing wrong with that because if you work for it and you have put your effort in, then you should be able to be allowed to sit back and relax and portrayed up, and that means enjoy that big-screen TV or that wonderful vacation that amazing crews of the Greek islands or whatever it is that your heart's desire and that means material success to you. So we've talked about this armchair position right and so we talked about that and how important is to understand that the Phoenix footstool is represented.

"And so many people in there are rave to me about this technique and how has helped them on so many things and this is something that I am passing on with love to you because I. Know at at one time or another everybody, we all want something to happen. We all want something good in our lives to occur, and I want to share with you this wonderful technique that has worked for. So many of my my insiders I, call him insiders punctuate insiders and has has helped me personally and I can help you too. So this is called the grant your wish technique and when you're working toward a goal like to sell your house or maybe finalized divorce like I said earlier or attract new love you don't have to wait when you have a sincere. You WanNa find a way to bring that desire to a vast right. So this technique as I said, was share with me and it's been a proven. It's proven to be a very valuable way that I have helped clients and readers and subscribers and My daughter's improve their odds of success. I've gotten so many testimonials about the grant, your wish technique, and if you use it, I'd love to hear from you. So if you use this technique, I'm going to share with you how to do it. If you use it and you find that what you want to happen happens After you've got this setup, then struck me a note I love to hear what you used it for how it worked in when it happened. So let's talk about this Now, this this technique is. Perfect for using for anything that you want to manifest. So what is important to understand is that it's there really super simple instructions but and I'm going to go through step by step. So this is what you're going to need to do your grant, your wish technique you're going to need some some products. The first thing is, is you need a red folder. Now, this can be just something that you get at at at office. Max Or Your local office store and I like to get a really pretty red glossy when I used to actually sell these kids and I tell you they flew off the shelves and but I don't sell them anymore I don't do products any longer but anyhow they I get a really pretty glossy bright red folder and it doesn't it just needs to have pockets on the inside or can just be like a regular file folder so if you don't want to Get Fancy. That's fine. The other thing that you're going to need our two bamboo flutes, they're they're called Chinese flutes and you can get those online Amazon or at your your favorite funkaway plays many of them have these flutes, their actual bamboo, their hollow bamboo flutes, and that's what you're looking for the hollow bamboo flutes. Sometimes, people use them to our to counteract beams or they use them for other other functional applications, but they're not really hard to find A I. think there's a place called functions way Dash Import, dot com they always have them. They're not very expensive but you can find them just about anywhere online. Anywhere that sells punctuate things and then you're going to need a a link of green and black ribbon I like you can use satin grow gain we've been it doesn't matter, but I would get a piece about eighteen to twenty four inches long of black and green. Now, when I say green I mean Kelly Green you know like the the green of of a pretty spring leaf not that chartreuse yellow green, not that deep forest green but a Kelly Green leave color you also want to have. Solid black ribbons so don't get anything with any kind of of print on it. You just want very I always buy a either satin or grow gain Ribbon Kelly Green and black twenty four inches long, and that'll be plenty and what we WANNA do is use this in our at our front door. So we're going to do is if you let's say for instance, she wanted to sell your house you're going to take all of like your listing papers that you have from your realtor maybe you have a sales flyer out the box. You know I sometimes they have sales flyers, and in front of your home when you're trying to sell it, you get one of those and put it inside that red folder. Now now, with the red folder, you're gonNA take the two, the two flutes and you're going wrap them you can tie one end with the two pieces of ribbon, and then you're going to braid them just rap the the ribbon around the two the two flutes, and then tie it until you run out of ribbon and then tied up at the top. So you're GONNA I usually. Will tell them at the bottom and then kind of criss cross those those ribbons across the the two flutes and then time together up at the top and you're gonNA look for a small table. It could be like a little of a bench. It could be any you know anything really just a small table and what you WanNa do is on the small table you're gonNA place it. You can stand at your front door and to the right of your front door GonNa put that little table, and this is where you're gonNA put your red folder. With your house sale papers in or maybe divorce papers or your resume. If you're looking for if you're looking for a new job and then you're gonNA put the, you're going to put the the two flutes on top of the red folder. Now, this has to be at the rock to the right of your front door as you're looking on the inside at your front door like you're ready to go walk outside you can you're looking at your at your door now don't don't distress if you have a wall there or there's no space for. A table you can get a hanging wall pocket or you know a basket or something, put it on the wall next to the door and put your put your your your folder there with your with the flutes and that will work just fine. But what's important is is that it is at the right side of the door and this will make a difference for you. So let's talk about some of the ways that you would use this. So as I mentioned this is a perfect technique to use if you're looking for a job you're in A. Place your resume or CV and there. Maybe you have a job announcement that you. You have that you really are interested about put that in your red folder now I do believe let's. We'll let me let me talk about other ways that you can. You can use it. Let's say you're looking for visa to to go to another country or something put a copy of your passport, your travel papers or applications inside of the red folder. Your divorce isn't coming coming through. You can place your papers for that and and write your wish for what you. Would like to happen and place it that in the red folder. If you're facing legal problems, you can place those papers in the red folder. If you're facing bankruptcy anything that you're you're dealing with like that, you're having problems at any legal documents that you have to put in there. You can those in the red folder and have that on the table with the with your bamboo You maybe you have too many bills to pay and you need a promotion at work right out the promotion, the job promotion, you want what you want to. Have maybe you want to sell your house you would put like I said, all of those house papers in that red folder you can also to attract someone like bring somebody back to you. You can put your love letters inside of them a picture inside of the of that of that loved one who's gone inside your red folder and have that have that place. There are next door you can put a book or Business Proposal a manuscript school papers, college applications anything to go in that folder. Now once you have that folder with your documents then. You'd so important you just put those flutes right on top of it and put that on that table and make sure that it's on the right as you are looking in out you know standing at your front door that's where you wanna put it so just WanNa make sure it's not as you're standing at the front door on your porch looking in your house and on the right it's on the right as you stand for inside your house looking at your front door. It's ahead of you. That's where the table goes on the right. This is something that I have seen work and. Make things happen over and over and over again even if you just have a simple wish, you don't have any papers, maybe you just have a wish for something. This is it's called grant your wish technique and I am I'm here to tell you it is amazing. How often this happens what what you want to do though is you really want to focus your attention. Some people WANNA put Lena four or five or six different things, and my feeling is I'm a big believer in the power of one that means you focus on one thing whatever that one thing is that standing in the way of your happiness. So for me when I first. Learned about funkaway, the thing that I wanted to do was move. So I, wanted that means I had to get that house sold. So I focused solely on that. So that's I want to impress upon you is is the power of one how different can make in your life. You can really focus on the one thing the standing in a way for happiness. So maybe that is getting that divorce or maybe it is a attracting someone new maybe you.

"Your host, Katie Weber publisher of the red, Lotus letter function easy for wealth each week, all cover funkaway topics that can help you improve your life. Sure inspiring stories, and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Hello, and welcome to today's episode of five minute funkaway. We're talking all about Yang Energy. That's right. This is the energy that keeps our blood pumping that gets US excited. It's not the Union Oh you know. Sit there and meditate. but we're GONNA talk about Yang Energy, that is that up and moving get it going kinda energy red colors, bright light, excitement, sparkling lights, all the kinds of things that get us up and moving 'em get our blood pumping, and this is something that really need and boy do we need it now here with covert epidemic or epidemic? It's pandemic more than ever. We need some energy and infusion of of of energy. So let's talk today about Yang Energy and how you can use. It in your home in your life because it is so important that we have at. Yang. Energy is what keeps US alive it keeps us moving and going and working and pushing ourselves and having fun and excitement. That's Yang Energy. You know. Now, of course, gang energy is often associated with the male energy, but it really isn't just male energy. It's it's a when we think of yen in or Yong if you, WanNa call it that way. But you know I'm from Texas I say Yang Y'all. And yet energy is that energy that is sleeping energy what I would call it a slight being asleep you you need rest it's the time when you're quiet when you're contemplative, maybe meditate. Sitting in the bath and soaking that's yen energy union is dark and it retreats and it's holding kind of energy whereas Yang is going and blowing and and exciting, and an active and movement and light, and it is It's it goes forth. Yin Energy goes in and Yang Energy is the type of. That we need every day, that's what gets us up in the morning is Yang Energy and what goes gets us to sleep is yen energy. So if you WANNA, think about those two kinds of energies that way that's a really good metaphor for them and it's as you think about it, it's really not so relative to to male and female as as Yin and Yang implies if you think about it sleeping and resting as opposed to being active and energetic. So but even so you know a lot of people say you know it's a man's world and and and it is true because the world's a busy place it's full of Gogo drive and that requires a lot of young energy. Of course without Yang energy we'd stay in bed all day and be too lethargic getting done and functions way needs Yang Energy we all need young energy. When functions was I practice in its earlier days, it was actually a YIN study It was the assessment of burial locations that were selected specifically to give a family a long lasting legacy. Then functionary became a study for the living, not just the dead. Because well, Hey, the dead habit they they've got attorney to sleep it off while we've got to get things going right we do. So we definitely want to think about a functionary now as decidedly Yang that that Yang Energy is the preferred energy in a home. So while balancing and yen and sanctuary, and that that kind of ideas is an important concept in functionally the scales. Really need to be tipped little bit more Yang Direction. So the homes and businesses and offices are more energetic and grow and so that the people who live in those homes are more energetic girl. Now, when a living space is yen that energy tends to go in that direction. So that could be all kind, create all kinds of problems with loss loss of health or relationships, loss of wealth or. Physical vitality can even lead to death. In extreme cases. It can also like low metabolism create depression just sort of a downward outlook and when I think of yen houses a really good example that's very timely in today's world or hoarders hoarders have very yen houses that becomes they become this receptacle of just stuff that goes in and never comes out and that's what happens With those types of homes once they start in that in that Yin Direction, they typically stay in that direction but learning the importance and value of both Yin and Yang Energy means that when you have Yang Energy in your home, your home's energy will be tipped in favor of the spirit of Yang Energy and that helps your family thrive and makes you relationships fulfilling hey, makes maybe middle sexy, right And it makes your health vibrant and wealth is abundant. Now, when life is too yen, it feels stock or dull. You don't feel like you're moving forward and this is a time when you WanNa, have a good apply a really good healthy dose of Yang Energies and there's lots of ways to incorporate Yang Energy in your home also to your health and your life and even your personal outlook. So let's talk about some of those ways that you can develop young energy will the first one that comes to mind is To Stop Worrying Start Acting many times we think that worrying is productive just like ruminating over things is the answer eventually will worry our way out of a negative situation. Will you know that never happens right that rarely works in fact, it almost never works right? Instead we're often we all put up making a hard decision or taking decisive action choosing to worry instead but once you make a decision or take action, you get amazingly out of your Rut and start life starts moving again even when I started doing this. This particular podcast I listened to a few other podcasts about funkaway and and and While they had some really nice content. I've heard other podcasts on this subject and and many of them are treat the house as it's a it's a sacred place and it's like, let's let's go. That's my take on. I wanted to be active and energetic, and I. Don't WanNa put you to sleep while you're listening to this and there are all kinds of things that you can listen to with..

"Cover functionally topics that can help you improve your life sure inspiring stories, and always end with three easy to implement tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your. Life. Hello there and welcome to this episode a five minute way see we're going to be talking about a topic the I don't really go over a whole whole lot because it just doesn't really happen that often, but it does happen and that is I. Think there are some times when People need to move the house just isn't support it for them and it's not one of those. Things that can be improved really. By moving things around because if if it were, I definitely would tell them You need to just move this here or change your bed that that way that kind of thing and It's really not something that I feel like a qualified functionally consultant recommends because getting up and moving house or changing your apartment isn't something that you do like a hand back. You know you just don't like swap your wallet out and off you go there's a whole lot involved. There's a lot of expense. It's a lot of time. It's a lot of energy and. So you know picking up and moving really it's just not something that just any old body wants to do just because. Well, you know I, don't like where the toilet is and the kitchen just not that. Great. So you don't WanNa. You know just pick up and move who does and this comes from somebody. I have moved more times than I wanna even tell you about and if I had to move I, think it would it would be the end of me right now. Especially during Cova but you know there are times when I do think it is a good idea and it is something that needs to be considered when they're certain criteria and we're GONNA be talking about those criteria today in this episode. But before we get started I just want to call out a particular listener who is a member my private facebook group the year of the rat facebook group I call them. The funkaway insiders and she is a just a dynamo, an amazing woman, a special education teacher in San Diego and just a darn nice human being a really really special woman. Her name is Susan Star Girl. That's how we're GONNA caller Susan star girl from San Diego and I just WanNa call her out because she listens to this podcast and she's also been a subscriber of mine since two thousand four now. If you don't know how long I've been publishing that has been that's my entire career. I actually started publishing the red slaughter back in two thousand and one, and so this is like the early the nascent days of when I began publishing and I just WanNa, say how special she is to me because of that I've seen her go through houses is living in in Plano Texas and then. Moving to to San Diego and and she's just a really wonderful person and I, it was really nice. Last year I went out to San Diego, and my husband had a little business to do and we decided to make kind of a long weekend of it and I invited her out to lunch and the two of us just sat and talked like we've known each other like fifteen years like we have. Anyway, it was great to be together with her. She's fabulous lady. So my hat's off to my wonderful wonderful Susan. Star girl. Thank you so much for listening and being part of my red-letter family I. SO appreciate you. Will let's start talking about when she move out because there are going be some times. When you you've just do need to move and like I said as an experienced functionally consultant I think you should have some a lot more tricks up your sleeve. You ought to have some knowledge and skills to help correct a problem So you don't want to move because your house is function perfect. Because here's the newsflash. None of them are there really are no functionally pervy Tallis's every. House has to have a bathroom somewhere. Every house has to have a kitchen or a toilet or you know a laundry room garages that kind of thing we have to have those kinds of things and we can't just have a pervert house and there's no way I want to have a house that doesn't have indoor plumbing. So I will have a toilet and I will work around it. No matter what corner it's in and here's what I can tell you. You will survive almost all houses. It is true but there are few stand out in my mind. I'm going to talk about that because I do think that you can gain from this experience and having worked with so many homeowners and seeing what their lives are like what they're experiencing it is It really gives me a wide array of understanding of various homes in and knowledge about them in there. But there are some circumstances were I do think moving is a wise idea. So. Let's just diamond in when. People, come to me a lot of times for consultation. They're they're actually fearful they. They are worried because they've heard from other consultants in fact, many times. I'm I'm the second consultant someone's talk to and and I have I I do a lot of Recovery, consultations like help pulling them back from the ledge as it were from someone who's scared the living daylights out of them and told them that their life is just going to completely unravel many times. They're afraid they've been told that they need to move out of their homes and they need to do major renovation. They're afraid I'm going to tell them that you have to move out of your house or move out of here or move this wall and that kind of thing and really. Like I said, a qualified functioning consultant really tell someone their home is hopeless with regard to funkaway hopeless for their live and in fact, good. Functionally, consultants will talk to you about your life in addition to your home. So if you have a fun Schwab Consultation Number One, make sure that somebody is asking you what is your experience living in this home? Because when a consultant does that, they're trying to understand how the house is affecting you and they will look at your life and your home at the same time because they're kind of like mirror images of each other and it gives a lot of insight to know, okay. This person's looming this kind of house and this is what's happening in their lives. Now, of course, you know a lot of people like I said earlier, worry about having a toilet in their career sector, but they're thriving professionally maybe your life is I think you're really best indicator of your functional it's not necessarily your bathrooms are located so rather. Than focusing on a functional problem area of your home. Taking stock of your life is actually.

"Functionally topics that can help you improve your life, sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes now let's get started on the five minutes. That could change your life. Hello and welcome to a very special episode. Five minute functions way. This is all about fertility, and we're GONNA be talking about ways to improve conception. Today as the day after my thirtieth anniversary in just knowing that you know Tim and I have been married now for thirty years, and I had actually recorded on this podcast yesterday. Unfortunately, it's also mercury retrograde, and this is my second recording of this particular topic, because the first recording was unfortunately recorded on a different microphone. A camera with a microphone in that I have my regular podcast microphone and wouldn't you know? My camera microphone picked it up and I didn't check and just double double league. Be Certain that this was the correct microphone. So here you go lessons for mercury retrograde. Always check. But my my yesterday my anniversary. Brought up a lot of tender feelings about on the years, and we're all tim and I have come from what we've done in accomplished in those thirty years, and without a doubt one of the most. The most important thing that has come about has been our son, and it took US ten years of trying before he came into our lives, but ever since those little brown eyes of set their gaze online I have been pulled by the tractor beam of love. And you know it's a it's a really special thing, and I know the pain and I know the struggle of trying to get pregnant of having infertility. It's something that runs in my family and it's just not one of those things anybody. wants to go through, but it just how it worked out. But there's no question that one of the most beautiful things that you can do is have a baby. Come into your life and to have that experience of of. Share your love with this new child and it's it's an absolute. Wonderful Time. Yes, it takes a lot more focus, but gosh, it goes so fast, so you just got to enjoy every single moment well, let's talk about funkaway and pregnancy so when it comes to places that increase our odds of getting pregnant. Many of us probably think more about our doctor's office and we do our own home, but just as you would look for underlying medical reasons that might impair your for Tilleke you also want to examine your. Your home to make sure that it supports conception now from the perspective of funk sway infertility can be attributed in part to energy call. Chee on. That's maybe the key that's been blocked or stagnant. This ancient art aims to balance the energy of a place for the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives there, and was some functionally fixes I think you can create home that encourages positive energy and conception. Let's talk about the mouth of cheap now. Your front door area is the mouth for your home. Just like you have a mouth on your face, and your mouth determines how your nutrition in if your lips were sewn shut, and you just had a little space for a drinking Straw will chances are, you would be really limited in the amount of nutrition that your body can take in and assist same thing with your home when you have a front door that's blocked. Maybe you have a French a tree. Tree in front of your front door or there is a straight Arrow runway to from the street to your front door. These are all things that can kind of throw off that energy and create either rushing energy. Maybe you get pregnant and then and then lose the baby, or it stops pregnancy, so there's not any conception that can occur now. When everything is in harmony, the energy that comes into our home is called she if flows like a river. But when that environment really doesn't follow that key principle of a function that energy stalls in the result can be anything from headaches and fatigue to job troubles and infertility so to bring your home into balance. We always want start at that front door. which is that mouth of Chee, so you should be able to open up your front door and have open space in front of it. There's no no poll right there. There's not a a tree opposite the door. If a block entryway that that encourages a block of conception, so let if you do have a block such as. A tree or a pole or something? That's right opposing your front door. Then we want to put a wind. Chime on either side of the front door to help lift that energy away. That's because the main purpose of a wind chime in Funk Shwe's actually the lift energy those tubes, or like a straw, and they pull up energy and funnel it away from the House. It's really more important to have that than to have that sort of tinkling kind of sound that wind chimes. Have that so pretty? That's really why we want to put that. wind chime on either side of the door. The other thing that you can do is aimed a light at the base of the tree. You can even get those solar lights that can just put it at the base of the tree. If you have a tree, that's opposite your. Your front door. Shine it up that tree now. If you have a mirror, opposite your front door. That can also be a impediment to conception because what it does is it pushes if you can open your front door and see yourself in a mirror, it pushes conception energy right back out the door as well as money and opportunity, so we never WANNA have a mirror placed anywhere near the front door where it can push away that that precious energy of conception and it's really crucial to make sure that there's no, there's no reflection of the front door and if you're if you're you have a alongside way in Ames straight at your front door. Break that up a little bit with maybe some plantings on either side of the of the walkway, or to create something in the middle maybe a little circle in the in the middle of your of your sidewalk to help create like a little planter or just something that will help. Break up that energy, so it's not quite so straight because that can. Can really create some problems with not just getting pregnant, but staying pregnant, and that's what we want to pay. Close attention to is anything that can interrupt that that very fine energy. Let's talk about the bedroom Obviously the bedroom is always important space in funkaway..

"Some make your water sizable enough to count, but not so big that it's out of proportion to where you're placing it very key, and you'll know that by your eyes so I can't give you really rule of thumb, but you. You'll know for instance. There's a in my mother's neighborhood. When I draw into drive into her neighborhood. There's a house. And, IT'S A. I would say an average average home in the United States and There have a enormous fountain. It's really a fountain that would be much more suitable for a grand five thousand six thousand square foot house, and it just dominates the front of this this home and it always looks sized and they. It seems like it doesn't work very well. Because sometimes it's on. Sometimes, it's not on. But it just dominates this home and it. Justice doesn't do anything for it other than to look odd an out of proportion, and if you have a fountain or a water feature like that or swimming pool, then that's going to actually draw some negativity toward you. We don't want that so very important that you keep that that size in that proportion now we also want to make sure that. That, you place your water well, and besides at the front of the House. What else can you do because some you know? Some people can't have water at the front of their house. It just the way it works out in terms of their landscaping, or there's the way it looks. Maybe it's a homeowner. Association Says No. You can't do this and you have to approval for whatever you do. I totally understand that the you know we can't always have a functionary perfect house, and much as my I might like. It's true for me, too. So what else can you do well? Let's let's talk about having water on. It's important that you place it well, so let's just talk about if you can have water. At the front of the House it would be good if you could have the water on the left hand side of the door. That is as you're standing in the door. Looking out toward the street. There's a water fountain to your left or some type of water, feature, or fall or something like that. have it to your left as you're standing in your door. Looking out to the street water features that are placed on the right of the front door. King attract predatory females. So if you have a for instance you're in you, have your marriage in. You have some concerns about some infidelity particularly for a husband. Then when you have water on the right, it can cause potential for wandering now if you're not worried about that whatsoever you can in in this would be a good placement for your for your fountain. In terms of the way look and and the way it would be size than you can place it. There I, don't I? Don't subscribe to that belief that if you have water at the front of Your House on the right side. That's you're standing in the door looking out. It's on your right I don't subscribe to the belief that you're absolutely going to have. Your marriage fall apart I in fact I've had water on the right side of my house many times, and that has not been a problem whatsoever in a punctuate friend of mine. She's done the same thing. It just depends on your relationship, but that's that's been a an old wives tale with funkaway for a long time. Now another thing you might WanNa. Think about is adding some kind of a water feature in your living room or your Home Office and also in the wealth corner the southeast, because this really benefits by having water there in the wealth corner is is symbolized by this small leaf for a leaf of a blade of grass. Is that small thing that we want to grow grow grow because that's what we WANNA do with our money, right? We start out small, and we want to grow grow grow, and having that water found. Found in the southeast corner of your home or your living room is a great way to help attract more assets to your life, and to gain more more money and to grow your investments. We want to see them grow, and so this is a really nice place to place it. The other place where you can place water is the southwest corner. This brings prosperity to the woman and to the family. It's a really powerful way to add wonderful energy your home, and to your relationship and to make a profitable Or relationship, and especially, if a woman if you'RE A. Single mom and you want to really add some extra some extra security to your income at a little more opportunity for growing your income. Really Nice way is to add some kind of water feature in the southwest corner, and this is good for all homes the east. Of course this is a good corner for growth for health for family relationships. It's a would sector and it is. So happy to have water there. It's like a big tree. That's how we symbolize. The East is a big tree, and what a trees love lots and lots of water, so it's a really nice place to put that, and if you WANNA put that put a water feature in the east corner of your home, your living room or in your garden. It's a really nice place, my four, and then lastly the the water sector is the north, and that is the sector of income that's because we want income to be continuous and flowing like a river right, and it doesn't dry up. It's not just a stagnant pond that will dry. Dry Up that kind of thing, we want to make sure that we have this nice smooth constant flowing income, and a way that you can stimulate dot is in putting a waterfall I, really like waterfalls in particular waterfalls that have you know that movement and three have three falls, or six falls really auspicious it adds extra beneficial energy to your water feature when you have either three or six falls and it it stimulates your career Your Business.

"Think about the collars that are going to change the year if it'll bloom and seem to about adding fruit trees anything that bears so that could be nuts. That could be fruits. That could be apples or citrus. Or whatever plant grows well in your in your area. We have a home in south Texas. On the Gulf coast in it we've got citrus trees everywhere lemons grapefruits and pink naval oranges. That are just divine. They taste like a if a if somebody were to put a An Angel into a an orange. That's it would taste like it's the sweetest thing so find something that bears fruit in son. Whether like I said it's a it's a A nut or a fruit of some kind. It's even flowering trees that that bears. Its when you have a home that is surrounded by trees that are giving you something like beautiful flowers or nuts or fruits it becomes more your home becomes more abundant and that's always always a good thing all right well. I hope this is inspired you to get out into the garden and to do some landscaping and just drive through some neighborhoods. Drive through your neighborhood and look around and see if you can spot the houses with the Garden Dragon. I think you're GonNa love doing that as a little experiment. And if you feel like sharing that with me please do all right well. Let's end up with our latte with our three tips as always here at the last of of five minute funkaway..

"Beneficial energies in your Zodiac sign or your bedroom or your home direction wearing real gold or silver can help you and give you an energetic boost now. Let's talk about the symbols that you can wear. You don't always have to wear things that are related to function Just having like ever saying a simple gold hoop is that round. Shape is the shape of Heaven Long long type rectangular shapes or shapes of growth. You WanNa look at shapes and make sure the only thing that you really want to avoid is anything that is very pointy or at. That has any kind of point so like for instance. I had seen one woman who was wearing a starburst type of necklace and it was a diamond this center and then it had the the raise that rate at that's sprayed out but they all kind of point up at her her neck so it's really not wasn't an auspicious sign. Personally I so think of of those types of things when you're looking for jewelry that's going to be. Enhancing is not going to be hurting you so think about anything from the infinity. Look like the eight Is An sometimes called the infinity? Sign the mystic. Not a dragon. Peacock Chinese coins or eggs I know I have some of those Russian eggs Jewelry pieces that's very auspicious. But they don't say Chinese The but the egg is a very auspicious shape. So look for shapes. That are appealing to you and that And our Attractive as well because if they're attractive they usually have great punctuate. You always want to use symbols and where symbols. That are appealing to you personally. So like for instance. When I was designing jewelry for home shopping network I wanted to create jewelry that used funkaway symbols and fresh and fashionable way. So one of the most popular pieces that I created was a necklace. A feature all four celestial creatures of the Tortoise Tiger The dragon and the Phoenix and they were all in one big collar necklace and it was a huge necklace extremely colorful and It was and it was big in the thing that was amazing as it has all four of the Cardinal Directions North East south and West are represented on that so that brings the goodness of all those directions to anyone who wears it. Sold out right there on When I was doing the The presentation there on home shopping network that morning and that was very exciting to see it. 'cause it was like one of my very first pieces. I differ them. So you want to look for items that speak to elements of functionally. So maybe that's metal or water or would or fire and An earth those are the three elements. And you're going to want to look for those elements that create beneficial for you Beneficial energy for you and one of the ways you can do that is by wearing gemstones that are suited for you by your birth element now birth elements the annual elements that take place.

"Make sure you put your dress up put on. I'm wearing earrings today. As a matter of fact white White ABALONE SHELL. Eary's think they're really pretty. They have a sort of a around per lesson. I feel like I need some heaven luck and so here. I am wearing my jewelry. I wear a watch. Where rings I wear. I wear earrings every single day. So really good for You know boosting our energy and bringing positively to us now. Let's talk about necklaces? Because these are power packed I love necklaces and I love big necklaces and as a writer and speaker. It's something that I really pay close attention to in. It's so important because it is accentuating your your throat your face and your head and this is the part of you that receives recognition recognition is so important in function. Why it's the roundabout way of money. So you can wear things do things for money and that's fine but it's really important that you looked to get recognize and wearing a necklace is a great way to do that because when you are recognized that means that someone will think of you. They'll point you out. They'll say oh you know. Carol is the perfect person for this job They will say I know I wanNA talk to Carol about such and such and they'll think of you that recognition aspect is really important so we're beautiful necklaces especially when you have something important to say. You're giving a talk anything that you're are you feel like you need to kind of Raise your your notice at work. You want to get more attention. A beautiful necklace. Necklace is a gorgeous frame is like a gorgeous frame around a painting it calls attention to. What's inside the frame while complementing the the painting at the same time? So when you find that you're lacking in recognition and notice at work where a beautiful necklace to draw positive attention eh recognition One of the things that that Kinda jumps off the page for me right now is The Deborah burks. Who's on the Corona Task Force here in the United States? And she's often speaking about the virus and she's an Works with Viruses all over the world and As a specialist in this and one of the things that you cannot not miss her because she when she's on stage at the White House and and in the press room or on Press. She wears a different scarf every single day. And that scarf like a beautiful necklace calls attention to her. It says listen to what I'm saying. Pay attention to me because I'm important and I have valuable information to impart so think about that when you're wearing a necklace and you want to make an impression you want someone to notice you. It will call that attention and recognition to you and help. Kinda raise your profile as well especially important for anybody at work right now with jobs being tentative and worrisome it can be very valuable to have a beautiful piece of jewelry or necklace or scarf around your neck to bring attention to what you're saying and your authority knows talk about another aspect of functions. I am that are functional. Jewelry is that it's protective so just like we can use functional to protect our homes..

"Of the Red Lotus letter. Funkaway easy for wealth each week all cover functional topics that can help you improve your life. Sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes now. Let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Hello and welcome to this episode of five minute funkaway. Today we're talking about clocks and their effect on us you know. There's been a lot of talk in the functionality world about whether clocks represent good functionally or not and like most things in life. The definitive answer isn't a yes or no instead. The answer is it depends. It's the exception to the rule to find an instance where a funkaway answer is black and white. It really is There is no clear answer. Except there are some clear. Do's and don'ts and we're gonNA talk about those a little bit later on right now our at home with corona virus and Cova nineteen all around the world. Everybody's kind of in sympathy with one another. It's kind of Nice. You know that were having a a worldly experienced that all our humanity can have some understanding for one another in what we're going through in one of the things about this whole cove in corona virus. Thing is that we are much more aware about time than ever. I mean think about it. We're we're we're told it's going to last this long exit GonNa peak here. It's going to do this then. And there's really no clear time line and so a lot of us are quarantined or rather stay at home orders or these are times where we are very time focused in very aware of the tick tick tick of time so we thought you know if you're at home. I know that I've heard this. My parents tell me they're in their eighties. They really feel confined because they're older in. So many people are feeling so confined right now in a very time aware looking at the clock hearing the tick tick tick that like I was saying in so I thought well what better time to talk about clocks then then now so here we go. Let's talk about The funkaway of clocks and what they mean and And some Doosan dotes for that. So as far as as clocks go many times. It's whether they're good functioning or not really relates to where they're placed now when they're place right and used properly clocks really aren't a big concern in functions way but when they're not that's when trouble begins in general though clocks really aren't considered to be auspicious in functionally because it is representative of the passage of time and when clocks oversized it represents an oversized presence of time in the passing of time and it implies death that's why these oversized clocks that are so popular on design blogs and decorating stores. They actually symbolize death and being under the gun of time. My Mom Brooker hip about a year ago and sadly I know that the rehabilitation nursing home that she was in was very beautiful. Place very nicely decorated. But it just made my skin crawl obt to tell you the truth that just I all. It was a carefully decorated. It was it was clean and all that but The people who own the the nursing home were avid hunters. So as soon as you walked in the front door. There's all these magnificent animals. I'M NOT GONNA call him trophies but there are these magnificent magnificent animals all stuff though the soon as you walk in. There's this symbols of death and I so that bothered me. You walk down the hallway and you see their dining area and they have an enormous Clark so these people can't even be impeach piece as they're eating their meal and without having to stare or eat under the gaze of this enormous clock that I'm sure someone thought was really great decorating and it's just not it was seem just cruel to me when I when I saw it now. A lot of clocks are are actually. I'm going to say they're energetic beings. They're not a being a per se but they haven't energy about them and what's interesting is. There is a lot of connection to clocks. I'll give you a story of that about it. Many clocks are known to stop when someone dies and that happened in my life. My grandmother fought with her sister. My aunt who is named for over a family heirloom clock that was given to their parents and her sister my aunt retain the clock even though their mother had given it to my grandmother and so it painfully reminded my grandmother of the loss of her parents. Every time she'd visit my aunt's home. Were this clock was prominently placed. However when my grandmother died my aunt obviously was still alive but with my grandmother died. The clock stopped at the exact time of death and it never worked again. It's really interesting. How people relate to clocks and relate to two time pieces I know. Many people have written to me about clock. Stoppages when someone's died or there's been upset I know people who only can Wear mechanical watches. That electric watches don't work for them. And so they have to use mechanical ones like the Rolex that is self winding or the type that you actually have to wind. It's fascinating to me. I find absolutely fascinating. Now when we think about funkaway it really requires balance in everything so when a clock is over sized that means there's an oversized emphasis on time. So hey o'clock like these. These big decorator clocks that you see. It made me feel more pressured to do more in the day. Feel like you can't manage your life feel like time is running away from you can even make you feel physically ill just from this pressure all the time you may find that your you have A feeling of pressure all the time and on the other hand there are times when a clock actually can do some good and handle some functions as most severe energies so for instance there are two type of illness energies that we talk about in functionally in once called the five yellow and the other is called the black too and these are a strong energies and when they're together or when you're worried about their influences a chiming or pendulum clock is one of the best ways to wear down their energy that illness energy that they project with that smooth swinging back and forth of a pendulum or clear. Chime ringing out I love pendulum clocks. They are actually some of the best ways to bring movement to a house. That's two still so that makes them a really great activator. So if you've got an old grandfather clock with the pendulum or you've got a ticking clock with the pendulum. These are great for areas. That have illness energy Like the East Corner this year in twenty twenty does it's also good for activating positive energy. Like in the north the northeast corner has a terrific energy for money and income potential for making money through classes and having a a clock chiming there can activate that that energy there. So there's some really nice ways that clocks can be beneficial in function by now. If you WANNA know more about the energies of the year be sure to check out my year of the rat article on my website. You can go there by going to Red Lotus letter dot com forward slash rat and get more details as I'm going to mention some energies In these do's and don'ts that it you might WanNa look a month and see where they are and where they fall on your home because you might want to activate or hold them down so let's talk about some clock. Dues things that you should do clocks do use a pendulum or a chiming clock to activate the six star of networking and benefactors. This can bring windfalls nice financial surprises people out of the blue. That will tell you about an opportunity. Just this is what I would call. Sort of the falling star. Wish upon a falling star just falls into your lap some good news and having a chiming clock or pendulum clock. Wherever that's located that six star in in in this year in twenty twenty it's located in the southeast corner of your home. That's the wool sector. Do use a pendulum chiming clock to activate the one star of opportunity and income this year. That star is in the North East when you have problems with illness. Financial difficulties serious serious problems. Even cancer. Things like this We want to handle those energies and M. Wear them down this year. The these are called the earth stars too in five five yellow to black. I mentioned earlier this year. The five star which is the really serious one is in the east and having a pendulum clock. There will help. Drain that energy. This the East is the star. The oldest son. It's also the star of the family. So we're going to see family disruptions. You're as we have seen This year people are losing loved ones to Cova Job Difficulties or creating crises in families. You know so we really WANNA handle that five star in the East so in the east corner of your home. This is a great place to have a pendulum or chiming clock. And it's also good in the south corner of your home where the two stars that can create problems with everything from relationships to nagging illnesses and nobody needs any illness this year. We've already got one big one on our radar and that is definitely enough. Another do is to make sure that you may that. Your clock is not over size. And that you don't get one of those big giant decorator clocks. I call them because when they will dominate your room. Very important to keep those imbalance. Remember what I was talking about earlier about. We don't WanNa feel overly pressured about time. We're already time conscious enough as it is right Do Hang clocks in hallways in living rooms or in the kitchen Keep them on the smaller side. Don't hang them up too high. Because then that means that they've got a dominance over you. You WanNa have them where they're at a reasonable height not really way high up that that could really put the pressure of time on you. Do make sure that clocks next to the bed or small and not overly bright if their electric you know. Sometimes I've stayed as a guest at a hotel or friends houses in those darn lights are so bright. And you don't sleep. That means that clock is influencing your sleep. Even you can't get rest with that clock so you want to You know look at that clock that you have next to the bed and see if it's too bright and work on that. Do make sure the clocks in the bedroom. Wake you to a pleasant sound that you enjoy chimes or birds or something like that you don't WanNa have a buzzer. That just wakes you up with start that that awful grading and now if you like that and that didn't bother you but you know what I think. It's a lot more pleasant if you could have a clock that wakes you up in a pleasant way to birds chirping or something like that and he has a lot more pleasant now. Let's talk about some clock. Don'ts don't hang a clock too close to the front door where can be viewed at the front door again. This puts pressure on time in. It's also money because the front door represents money and income and opportunity coming to you and that means that you're gonNA always be pressed for money and we don't want that so make sure that you can't see a clock from the front door. Don't hang o'clock in the dining room because this implies death and rushing to eat nobody needs to be rushing as they're enjoying a holiday dinner or maybe hopefully Cova celebration dinner. Maybe you get together with your whole family and just have a big meal together to celebrate once. It's all over but you don't WanNa clock in the in the dining room so take that out of there again. Don't hang those oversize.

"Host. Katie Weber publisher of the Red Lotus letter function easy for wealth each week all cover funkaway topics that can help you improve your life. Sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now let's get started on the five minutes that could your life. Hello funkaway listener. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your listening in today in every week. if you've been listening for a while It's been A lot of fun to do these podcasts and to share some time with you and get your feedback. I love hearing from you. And if you are listening to five minute functionally note. I love love love to hear from. You really makes my day when I hear from somebody that you know. The layer learned something in a podcast or they heard something they hadn't heard before really makes my day so shoot me note. I'll be sure to answer back because it means a lot to me that you're listening. It means a lot to me that you take time to write so Give me a shout love to hear from you. Let's talk today about the color. Purple is a color of wealth and wealth in a variety of forms. Let's talk about how important this is in terms of functionality. Now we all know. Purple is a potent color. I mean in every society. Purple has held a special place and special meaning. It was said that Leonardo Da Vinci believed that meditating in a lavender or purple colored light was improved by factor of ten and purple has long been associated with wealth nobility stature religion piety even magic and sexuality there is a saying that which is door is often colored purple and And I don't know that I believe that but I do think that purple does convey a lot of messages to the to the to the I you know. Purple is a mixture. It's a mixture of that soothing. Calm blue with a boisterous energetic. Read that makes it. The most balanced color purple is associated and long been associated with royalty it symbolizes that power and nobility but also luxury and ambition. It Conveys Wealth and extravagance purple is also associated with wisdom in dignity independence creativity mystery and magic and in fact some seventy five percent of small children. Choose purple over every other color in that amazing A Fun fact about purple is that Cleopatra. It was her favorite color and has continued to be a color that's been associated with royalty or high honor like the Purple Heart awarded to American soldiers who were wounded or killed in war so obviously purple is very special color. It's also true in functions way In function there's one color that is suitable for any corner of your house in that color is purple. Purple is the color associated with any of the directions as a beneficial color. You can even say. It's the FUNKAWAY BEIGE. That's actually that's something. I coined. I've called purple a functionary base for a long time. But you know purple isn't always the easiest colored live with so if you have strong feelings about purple. It's it's probably better not to use it but if you think you're space will look strange with purple. Just maybe avoid purple but there's a lot of range when it comes to purple purple is Can Go from the PALEST lightest lavender. All the way to the deepest darkest inky hist Auber gene of a deep eggplant right This is a color that has a lot of life in it. So there's a lot of ways that you can use. It doesn't all have to be that that purple dinosaur that we all know when we think of Purple Purple doesn't have to be that grape jelly or the great bubblegum. You know purple really is a great wealth color. It is a color that goes so well with wealth and success. Both you think that they're different but there are you think that they're the same right wealth and success but they're actually very different well is actual accumulation of money and assets. Were a success is the ability to use those assets. Have you ever thought of it that way? Success is could be defined as when you can take whatever you want by whatever car you lie can afford the expensive clothes or the Nice hotels that kind of thing. That's success wealth is different than success. Isn't that interesting to think about that? That success is the manifestation of wealth whereas wealth is the accumulation of assets. I love to look at those fine points in functionally. I never had thought of them That way and always kind of lump them all into the same bucket. Sorta like money. Money was all in the same bucket. But there's different types of money to and Like for instance. There's income right salary the money you get in your check career From your salary from your job but there's also wealth that could be something maybe an inheritance it could be Your 401k your investments real estate holding stocks bonds all those kinds of things those are assets right that so there's a completely different types of money but it's still it's still a form of of wealth To have a job to have an income and to have assets but they're distinct ones. Think it's really important to understand those just like having wealth and having success also very different so when it comes to generating wealth chee so whether that's income or wealth assets or success. The obviously the you know the NICE CLOTHES FANCY CARS. That kind of thing forever. You want to have that extra energy no matter where that is purplish color but it is a stimulating color so it's not always a great idea to have purple in a bathroom or kitchen or even a bedroom you could use some Pale. Shades are little bits of purple but not too strong because remember. It is a combination of blue and red red is very stimulating. I think there's a saying it's a Chinese say Mayor Mayor Happiness Purple. You know something like that. And it means it's a blending a harmony of two distinct Two distinct elements fire and water. That's success and income. See see how that works. I love that I think that's such a great Distinction to know so. Let's talk about the wealth that purple can bring you. There is the wealth of recognition. Purple is an excellent color to add in the south sector of your home or living room office. This is the fame sector. This is the success and social Renown and sector. This is recognition sector in particular. It's really good if you're in a sort of a power position like if you're the principal or an owner of a business. Purple is definitely a power color so attitude a south wall for added. Prestige or to further your ambitions for fame Purple will help you get recognized. Just think about that Movie Stars they're hounded for their autographs because they have achieved a level of success that gives them recognition. Recognition is a great type of or a type of of success. Now purple also can help you.

"Sidewalk. They just go just from the curb but then they stop or there's absolutely no sidewalk or there's no path that goes to the front door and when there's no water way that home is starved or dying of thirst that pathways your waterway of income. So many times will find people that you see houses older houses that are like that and you see them just deteriorate if the house is really old this might have been fine years ago when the house was built but each year as the House ages. Anyone who lives in the house will see their finances diminish as well as health problems growing. Now how do you correct that? You've got to add a new front sidewalk and the more permanent. The sidewalk is like a poured concrete. The better it is type of walkway because it will help bring more water chee to the front door more quickly and that will mean that. Your House won't be starving anymore for energy that water flow. Remember we've got to create that now you can do some. I've seen a lot of houses recently. That are they're doing these Pathways where they have Like crushed stone or crushed granite and they have big Flagstone pavers and I will tell you that while that might look Nice architecturally it's not good functions way and the reason. Why is you want a a solid unbroken smooth path from the street or your driveway to your front door? This creates the smooth and flowing energy. So if you would imagine. The difference between a smooth will conduct water more than a broken sidewalk made of discrete. An independent pavers right. So if you're Put Water on this payers. They would just go off the sides and into the gravel or something like that so while those look really pretty in the very contemporary looking and all that good stuff. It's not good if you WANNA have more money and you want to add more income opportunities. Now let's talk about the afflicted House. Pathway now this house may have a walkway that is too small. It might be old. It can be cracked or crumbling or lifted from tree roots or something like that and that means that the quality of the Energy. That's going to the house and the opportunity and money is deteriorating to whenever a sidewalk is cracked or crumbling or broken or shifts it disrupts its ability to deliver water energy or CI to the front door cutting off income and opportunity and making the quality of opportunity and income decline over steadily over time. So we WANNA make sure that the walkway to our front door is in good condition. And that it delivers chee to our door smoothly and auspiciously. I think anyone listening to this would agree with me that when you walk up to a home and you walk on a really nice pathway to the front door there is a special feeling about that and when you see a home and you drive through neighborhood and you see homes with you know pretty winding pathways and pretty sidewalks plantings and flowers. It just is appealing and that brings that that beauty that it has beauty brings money. So when you have a beautiful home or a beautiful Sidewalk and beautiful curb. Appeal to your home even if you have a simple house if you have beautiful curb appeal and it's neat and tidy and And it's flowing and it's it looks pretty It's amazing what that can do for your life and for your home all right. Well we are here at the end of this episode as always here on my three tips always trying to make your walkways auspicious looking and attractive with plants and other landscaping elements tip number to do what you can to create smooth winding and curbing solid pathways. These delivered the most beneficial and they deliver chee the most regularly. Those broken has are not a good idea Another great tip number three is to add lighting two pathways. This encourages more Yang Energy to enter your home. It's more specials. Lighting is always auspicious. So if you want to add more Admiral Energy to your home especially if you have one of those houses where you have a sidewalk with a goes around to the side of the House and you have a side entry to your home. This is really key that you do plantings go along that sidewalk and that you add lighting that says hey ci come this way to the front door and that means hey money come this way. All right there you go. There are My suggestions for your your pathway to wealth Make sure that your your front door is a conduit for accepting money income and opportunity as well as great energy in Your Life. Have a terrific week. Thank you so much for being on five minute. Functionally and listening. I was great talking to you. Thanks for listening to five minute punctuate. "Hello it's Katy here. I hope you're having a great week. What an amazing thing I am looking at this episode is number sixty seven. I can't believe it's already So many weeks have gone by that. I I started this podcast. It's a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy listening to it. If you do see me an email I love to hear from you. I have so many people on my My private facebook page. And if if you buy my Twenty Twenty Year of the rat funkaway forecasts success. Pack if there's a gold level membership and it comes with a membership to a private facebook page where we can interact and talk with one another and I can answer your funkaway questions and we have a lot of fun. It's really great. 'cause I'd like to hear comments about the PODCASTS. A lot of fun and we have a great group Really supported loving lots of fun and we share a lot of funkaway two bids and and secrets and tips. And and just be there for each other support one another and We just have agreed. Functionally time Today I introduced a new Thursday activity which is throw out Thursday which means every Thursday. I'm challenging my Facebook group participants to Throw something out today. I threw out a sack. Full of new clues actually throw them out. I'm sitting them into threat up. They give you a free bag and you can mail it in. And they'll take your clothes and put them online and sell them for you and give you a little cash. I mean how can you not love that? It's a great deal. I have new clothes that would have been sitting in my closet. I never wore and I wasn't going to wear so This is one of those ways that you can help. Energy to move in your in your life is by Paring DOWN SO. We were doing that today. In the group it was fun. I saw people putting posts up for everything from old mattress toppers at Gotten Kinda cruddy That was Mona. She was Putting her mattress topper in there and I thought that was absolutely awesome. One woman. Tina mentioned how she threw away a two jars had to pickles each and and she doesn't wasn't GonNa have those Itty biddies in there and that's what I call those. That kind of energy is just like that shampoo bottle that you almost ignore in the shower. It's just like a little like a tablespoon left I Shan't shampoo and it but you don't use it but you don't throw the ball out either. You know what I mean. This is a perfect activity for throw away or throw out Thursday. Instead of throwback Thursday we have throwdown Thursdays. Another one of the group members Helena. was showing some decorative items that she was throwing out of her beautiful home and someone is going to be really happy with those donations and see. That's the point. Isn't it with Something like daylight that where you just take things and pitch them Whether you donate them or just they go in the trash Whatever it is you. Recycle them it's a great way to clear energy of what you don't want in your life to open up energy for what you do so with that. Let's start talking about your front pathway of wealth. Now there's a lot of emphasis and thought an energy about the front door and functionally. It's a really important in the is a key area of your home in functionally the size. The direction the color and the condition of the door all influence the occupants of the House and were the business and how successful or unsuccessful they are. But what delivers you to that front door? It's your home sidewalk or garden path when that pathway is missing or afflicted so is the quality and type of energy from your home. So that's why you want your door to be auspicious looking. You want your pathway or your sidewalk up to your front door to be auspicious looking. The pathway is another way of looking at water because water brings opportunities and income to us in funkaway. This is the type of energy that flowing energy right. Because we want money to be flowing like water right and roads and pathways in front of our home are considered water pathways so when water is running smoothly and easily this promotes the wealth and the health of the home and it's occupants and this is what makes curb appeal such an important part of building your home's functions way and also the quality of life that you lead so the appearance of your front door and front walkway instantly set a tone for the kind of energy that you haven't house and the type and quality of opportunities and income you experience it's what makes the type of walkway you have coming from the front of the House. Such an important part of creating the kind of functions way that creates a kind of life. You enjoy the most so. Let's talk about the sidewalk and pathway points and ways to improve them and improve your home. She and your wealth the first when we WANNA talk about is called the poison Arrow path. Now this is one of the most common problems with your with front sidewalk. The sidewalk is usually at the street in Will Run straight to the front door. This type of sidewalk can cause rushing chee and is often described as a poison arrow. That's because it looks straight as an Arrow right. I know you've seen those houses that have you park on the curb and you can see the sidewalk. Goes straight to the door Now when it's looked at as a waterway this is the type of Pat. That's akin to a fire hose. In other words it delivered so much water as so quickly it can be destructive. And if you've ever done any kind of Water pressure Worked with the water pressure hose. And you're cleaning sidewalks. If you get anything on on painted it'll just take the paint right off rushing. Water can create rushing energy and a poison. Arrow path delivers that energy too quickly. And that can cause problems with the sector. It's associated with in addition to creating like hostility. That's aimed at the at you if this is your kind of house so you might find that you're under under fire. People are coming at you or something or there's problems That you have to face frequently. This is compounded further. If you can see from the front door out the back door this really can cause serious accidents. Serious health and financial difficulties even bankruptcy even broken bones and serious accidents Now this is actually something to happen. with my husband we were renting a house that had a sidewalk. That was straight and then you open the front door and it you can see straight out the house and this was a vacation rental in Hawaii and I bet it wasn't about twenty eight hours after we got in there. He was on the beach and ended up breaking his leg shattered his leg. As a matter of fact and this was in the sector of the East. The front door was in the east. Which is the sector of the foot and leg anyhow? He lost his footing on in a SAM pocket and he ended up shattering his leg. So it was a really. This is a very Drastic example but it is something that can happen so if If you have a south facing house and you've got one of those poison. Arrow pass This could create. I damage can create heart attacks. Things like that so You really really want to Take those That straight rushing energy kind of seriously. So let's talk about how you correct that right so we wanna do things to soften that sidewalk and like plantings You can create You can take out the Center. Section of the sidewalk at a circular area or make create circular beds. You could create a little sidewalk. That goes out on a circle like on a path and then put like an earn a pot of flowers or something in the center. You'll you can come up with some ideas that will look a attractive in that will will At your curb appeal. We don't want to put something in there. That looks goofy because then that would take away. Curb appeal but you can run planting beds alongside. Oh and maybe some stones or something but what I would do is try to break up that straight shot and by making some kind of Sidewalk that that is in the middle that interrupts that maybe the Abed Planting bed or something like that would be helpful that you have to go around. Maybe you have a water fountain there. Let's talk about the starving house. Now this is a house at starred for money and income now many times. This is something that we see with pathways or sidewalks In that or homes. That are older that they maybe have a partial.

"Hey and welcome to another week of five minute funkaway this week. We are winding down to the end of the year in. I am so excited for twenty twenty two com. I've got some fun plans. In fact I've got a bottle of champagne that brought all the way back from France from my visit to the Champagne region earlier this year and I love having fun plans like this. You know when it comes to function. Some of the best punctuate you can have isn't have any doesn't have anything to do with turtles or fountains mountains or facing directions. It's about fun. You know one of the best ways that you can raise your function and have good. Funkaway is just had fun enjoyment festivities and happy times to your homes. I love having fun at my home. It's I like to laugh. We have a good time and it's important that the energy at home is light and bright. Because you want to feel Like you're happy at home right And there's if there's any place that you need to be happy you shouldn't have to escape your house to feel happy. You should be able to walk through the front door and feel good that you can See some happy memories looking around or you just feel good being there. You know when it comes to having fun. The vibrations of laughter in simple enjoyment will permeate the surroundings of your home. And if your home is the place for you know happy gatherings full of festive people than you've done a lot toward me here funkaway better. I promise you and that can change your outlook your happiness in. I believe your bottom line to. I haven't known now I do know. Some people who are wealthy aren't unhappy but by and large. My wealthy clients are some of the happiest funniest people I know. They're really light hearted Really most truly wealthy people have lots of fun and enjoyment alive mostly because they can afford it. What is it Money doesn't buy happiness but you can buy a yacht and pull up next to it. I'm a big believer in that. You know that when you're very serious or you're always looking at the negative side of life you know that energy of money isn't going to come to you. It's going to be harder. It's going to be a slog instead of joyful and When we approach life in it in a more joyful manner I think life approaches us in a more joyful manner. But that's not the only reason why I mean. Every time we have pleasant and enjoyable times in our house we build our happiness energy and this kind of Energy Creates Shane. Chee and this is called. Butte Xinke means basically beautiful energy and this Xinke raises our energy level and that attracts prosperity as well as business and financial opportunities. So try these tips. I wanted to talk to you about how to improve your fun. Sh- way to help you in your life enjoy life more. Have more pleasant times at your home and improve your bottom line too so number one is make sure that you have fun at home so make your Home Party Central. You know by inviting guests and enjoying pleasant conversations. Good Times you do a lot to lift the energy of your home. I remember when I went to do some functionally Trini in Singapore. I was invited to a couple of parties and in fact when I went to do training with Lillian to. She has a a party for every class that she has. She knows that inviting all these people with this. Great Energy will Lift the energy of her home. So Make Your House Party Central I. It really can make a big difference in terms of the energy of your home in your life. You know even simple things like playing games with your family Fills your home with laughter. One of our family favorite games is called guest yours and is like guest and then T. U. R. E. S. It's SORTA like charades ton of fun. Gosh every time we break that out we laugh and laugh and have the best time You know and and try making a family meal and put it in the formal dining room on Saturday or Sunday nights as a weekly treat you know so often if you have a formal dining room it just gets ignored except for you know a couple of special holidays you know and and and you know that that really should be used. I I believe I think it says hey even a simple Sunday night. Dinner is a special time with your family. I'm a big believer in that. I I really do. I think it makes a big difference. You know all these things when you use your dining room regularly and you treat your meals even your everyday meals a special and you're just In your family having them over for a special meal even when it's not a holiday that raises the energy of your home and and and speaking of your home I think about how you can live in up your inner home which is yourself you wanna live in yourself up. A friend of mine once joked that she had enough black clothes in her closet to outfit eight women for a funeral and it's true and You know we love. Our black clothes have really tried to move away from that in the black section of my closet gotten smaller and smaller every year. And I've found that you know can bring extra energy to yourself and lift your personal cheap. By wearing bright and vivid colors The colors imbue us with their energy Like on days that I wanna be extra productive or energetic. I'll wear Brown slacks like Bigwood with a red shirt which is fire because bigwood makes big fire Now if money's on your mind wear black pants and a green shirt maybe you want to get everyone to to Get along as far happiness.
