"Stop writing. You should be writing to to express some emotion feeling a thought a a truthful statement. Whatever you should be presenting something. I i'm so tired of sifting through lollipops in unicorn bombs Just like yeah. It does d. Don't impress me. You don't impress me and you really shouldn't try to impress me. Because that impresses me more but come on lollipops in unicorns need to go. And and it's just i don't know it's it's it's funny. How many people still subscribe to that god of all the the diagram gotta fill each box gotta make sure it works to whatever criteria. It doesn't trust me. i died twelve. I had a twelve word. Palm accepted by a very fringy journal. opponent could never read to family god forbid or really anyone without blushing as twelve words and the editor came back and it started as a five line poem. He came back he goes. I like the first two lines. But i don't like the last three and he said i'm if you can edit it. I'll accept that. And you know when i was younger i would've been like screw that i'm not gonna. I'm not gonna do that. Come out you didn't accept it the way it is on the writer. I'm always right. But i made the edit became toward palm accepted. It is published in april. You know there's not a lot of people in my mind there ones essay. Edit you know most of your pole down something that makes sense to me. But i guess those two lines spoke to him and that's what matter and then he made it work for him good. We'll do this. I submitted a short fiction piece. Where the academic journal actually had a board where they had to review everything and he came back with the conclusion that i need to beef up the middle of it and they were still willing to consider it if i did that so after i did that. The reconsider it again and then they published it. And ironically. When i look at it even though i felt comfortable.

"Pause it right there Positive positive. So we are five lines into this song in a little while from now, if I'm not feeling any less sour I promise myself to treat myself and visit a nearby tower. Keeper's is going Gilbert and climbing to the top. We'll throw myself off. So we are five lines into the first stanza. Has already jumped off the tower. So that's when I when I used the hypothetical of a suicide did this. That's because I I I always come back to this song by Gilbert. Oh, so that's where I heard it several times. And then somebody somebody brought up. I don't know. Year two in tow Me hearing the song, You know that, you know, he's you know, climbing to the top of the tower and committed suicide. You realize what's happening and I went? No, I had no idea that's what he was doing. Even if the lyrics you know, some lyrics to songs are You know it could be muddled or depending on the style of the song of the style of the genre of music can be tough to toe understand that song's pretty well phrase pretty simply sung and yet to my You know, Tio my ear. It was like it. Never registered is there Is this one of those songs where it starts out? Sad And then earlier in the song he realizes maybe being alone isn't the worst thing in the world or something along those lines at the end of the song. Does he realize that life might be okay? One of those kind of storyline songs. Well, maybe not. I'll tell you what. I hear if you pause it, that's fine. Okay, So so we're.

A Funny Byproduct Of Having To Buy Fewer Products

"About our fancy frame TV. Over the last couple of weeks on the PODCAST and I guess also on the blog. If you've seen our last couple blog post, we've been talking about how we've been pleasantly surprised that the furniture we moved down here for the most part fit very well and naturally into our new home. Yeah, it is kind of amazing to say. We showed a bunch of stuff in the. The pod I mean we did have measurements for rooms, and we did have an idea of what we're going to wear, so we weren't just like willy. Nilly putting a bunch of things in the pod, but we knew as we loaded the pod like there is going to be a margin for error I'm sure we'll get there and something won't work the way we thought it. It would because there's really nothing like being in a space and moving furniture around like you can try to do that in your head. When you're not in the space, it's really hard to land on the right. You Know Group of objects in the right. Lay Out I think anytime. We've moved houses. There's been this process where like some of your old furniture doesn't fit in. In the new house, for whatever reason like maybe it's because of the scale of the peace or the exact dimensions, or even a style, but you know you have these pieces that just don't land and work I think we expected that issue with at least some of the things that we brought down, but again we're grateful. Most everything has pretty much worked as it is. Is Yeah were even things John was like I. don't even know why we're bringing this. And then we brought it, and like played a very important role like remember. We talked about those bookcases that we're using in the kitchen and they have like so much storage. They're basically like extending our cabinets using as a pantry fought to leave those in richmond or sell them in Richmond. Richmond because I didn't think we had a place for them. And Sherry was right and the table in the kitchen. There's like a round white table that was like a game table in our old house in the bonus room and John was like I can't picture for people being able to eat here. I can't picture it fitting in the kitchen and it like probably won't live. Live there forever, but it is so good for now and if it hadn't made the POD, we'd be in trouble once again. Sherry was right so I think it's been nice because we didn't have this kind of like panic buying mode when we got here. We're like we don't have a kitchen table shot for one real quick and pretty much the only things that we have. Have had to buy at least the big furniture pieces we've had to buy have been things we knew we'd have to get because we didn't bring them with us. Like our beds like we had to get an outdoor dining table and other side note as we were packing the dining table with outdoor dining table in Richmond, and it was routed in the legs fell off. So we basically bought the same sized table. It was a different finish in a different color, and it works perfectly like I'm actually really glad that one did fall apart in Richmond. Has that one was like seven years old and disbar gone, and even informed the decision like that one was would, and it was rotten, so we got a metal and resin one. That will not, so you know some things were just dumb. Luck. Something's were strategy, but whatever it is that led us to where we are. We both kind of expected to land me like okay so now we need a rug dresser aside table six lamps five. Cheers. But you know what I'm saying I thought we'd land and have this list of like huge furniture items we needed, and it's like all we really needed. Where the things we knew we needed off the bat like beds. Yeah I, think that's the point here is that we've been grateful that we haven't had to go on like this sudden shopping spree and the other thing I wanted. Wanted to point out that was interesting. As we are shopping for one of the other items. We knew we'd have to get which has been window coverings, because as you have probably seen on instagram. We've been using packing blankets. It's very swanky at Casa Peter Sick. Let me tell you packing blankets. They disintegrate into like a black soot, and it's all over your window sills, it's. It's all over your floors, but we have started to receive some of the curtains that we bought, and it highlighted something interesting about downsizing and going to a smaller house that I think we consciously have known, but this particular purchase was like a good case study to help us quantify one of the benefits of living in a smaller space and furnishing a smaller space I think. Think things that are more obvious to everyone is like Oh to clean and less to pay to heat and cool like we said that over and over again. It's like less maintenance if I only have one bathroom I, worry less about maintaining four showers, enforcing them leaking and all that stuff, but I think this is one of those things where it's like when we say it. But it's just a thing we consciously knew, but then it was really interesting to see the actual numbers I. Actually don't know all the numbers. John is going to reveal them to me. Yeah, so I actually went back and tallied how many curtain panels and blinds we had to buy for our Richmond House, which as you probably heard? Her say is more than twice the size of the house. We are now living in Florida. So obviously had more windows to cover. Yeah, I can't wait to hear the numbers. John was like their staggering. I was staggered, so keep in mind. We didn't have curtains on every window so like not in the kitchens, bathrooms or anything like that and having a dining room, either yes, so this is not representative all the windows, so we had actually more blinds, and we had curtains, but we had twenty four curtain panels in Richmond. House K Twenty four, and I should point out. Out In recent months before we left, we were starting to like double up. Some of the curtain panels to make them look thicker right. Some have always been double in our living room. That was four panels instead of to on that big picture window in our office. We had a big picture window with four pounds instead of two. Did you just count those to? Double them because I couldn't remember what was doubled, so the twenty four number is probably closer to like thirty or thirty two. Yeah, that's what I would guess. We also have thirty blinds throughout. The houses were also. Roughly sixty two different window coverings. That Jack's yeah I mean. It was a lot I. Remember hanging those. It took us forever and I remember buying them, and it was so much money. I remember the blinds. We were like Oh. Do we need lines? Backpedal real quick and when we got home depot and saw the total. Yes, so again thirty ish curtain panels thirty blinds. Are you ready for the Florida numbers? I can't wait in Florida instead of thirty. We only need eight curtain panels, eight curtain panels versus thirty well, there's the saving instead of thirty blinds. We need five blinds. Five lines is my favorite and. And we're being very specific about these lines, guys. No one has researched blinds more than us. We will share what we pick when it arrives and we're sure we like it I. Don't want to jinx it. Hence all the packing blankets because we're taking our time and I also just for fun also looked at the number of curtain panels in blinds that. That we had to buy for the Beach House and the duplex. That's going to be like a million. A million I mean feel like we're. It's going to be close because it was three kids nine bathrooms like it was six seven, eight nine hundred ten bedrooms like it's a lot of juices well, and it was also fifty two curtain panels O and And Forty two blinds, no regrets right. We're glad we had curtains and blinds, but it sure is nice. When what did you say it's eight and five here in Florida compared to when we tally all of those previous homes that we sold eighty two curtain panels and seventy two blinds is so insane. Yes, and we ironed in hand

How I Built Resilience

"Hey welcome back to how I built this resilience edition so since the pandemic began retail sales have dropped massively across the country is customers are staying home but cliff. Bars actually seen a spike in demand because their bars are really popular among healthcare workers. I spoke to Gary Erickson and kick Crawford from their home in Berkeley California. The company's been distributing cliff bars to doctors and nurses while also trying to boost morale among their employees to me a little bit about cliff bar. What's been the situation for you guys? We're lucky you know. We're an essential food products. We on March twelve was the day we decided to close. Our office is just in one day. All of a sudden. We're like we're not in the awful. How do we run a business when people are are not in the office running into each other and having meetings and and coffee together out trying to throughout so we have been adopting ever since? Yeah it's it's interesting because we have like certain to businesses going on we have our office business and then we have our essential business are two bakeries one in Indiana twin falls. Where making sure that everybody's safe unhealthy. It's really different to have to do this right now. What's crazy so your headquarters. Essentially in Emoryville is closed down right now but you also. Your manufacturing plants are still operating because presumably. There's a demand for cliff bar. People are kind of want to keep things that that are shelf stable and lasts for a while I guess is. Have you seen a big increase demand for cliff bars redid and we did? There was a pretty good spike. And I We were maybe in third place behind the paper and Sanitizer But it's calmed down. You know I think the the object has mellowed out a little bit. But we're still there's demand demand is high and also you know we know that our product is a really essential food for healthcare workers. So far we've given out the first art march three point six million bars to food banks and healthcare workers frontline and then on another where on the second round. Brunell committed another three million through programmer calling Baked with love incentive gratitude Gary when you have been in crises in the past certainly with this business and when you think about it from a leadership perspective. What kind of advice could you give to somebody who is a leader? Even if it's a small business and they're kind of dealing with what's going on right now. I helped would sell duster couple. Things one is Don't be afraid to ask. Question has no answer Kind of off of Wendell Berry mad farmer manifesto of his about four decades ago. I mean we are asking questions every single data we have. We don't have any answer to but you can't be afraid to ask those questions and then if you don't have an answer today maybe tomorrow we've I can't even count. How many of questions. We've had to ask that. Don't have an answer. Maybe one could be like What are we? What is it GonNa look like when we go back to the office like when we first asked the office when is can happen? And what are we going to be walking around with right vase mouths on? And Are we gonNA be social distancing when we're back in the office and how's it going to work people you know. Eat and you know we. We don't have an answer for that right now but we're talking about and then the other part of it is just inattentive. You have to be hyper attentive to everything every day minute by minute hour by hour day by day and went and if your attention to something that comes up and we have people emailing US sane. Have you thought of this? What about this? How come this does happen? We're not doing this. Then you connoisseur out that you have to go to like how are we going to doubt and then as soon as you can't take some action and don't sit on things because we don't have time to sit on things we've been making decisions where we have to act now or tomorrow and we as sorry? We're screwed so adapt and take some action. I'm curious I mean. Obviously you are a bigger company much beer company than than a lot of the vast majority businesses in the United States. But if you think about this crisis and this is a little bit tricky because it's a sensitive word to use but as an opportunity are there ways to think about opportunities or to kind of focus on on the other side like how I mean because even with your business you're GonNa Change. They're going to be things about your products that change when when we come out the other side of this question. We don't have an answer to yes. Go ahead well. I mean I'd like to take a shot at it. I think long you know it. Does you double down in refocus on the things that matter for us? I think it's refocused us to consider what's really really important like taking care of our people but also how we work being efficient with our time being creative looking at a problem imagining scenarios. That don't exist yet like what if this happens. What how are we GONNA REACT? It's really made us much. Nimble in some ways yeah for sure. this is a question from about supply chain which. I think is is interesting. How are you dealing with your supply chain and and are you looking ahead to because it's you rely on nuts and on oats and on a variety of ingredients mostly domestic but some imported? So how are you kind of dealing with? The the possibility chain will be disrupted. That's another question that we don't have a full answer to because we don't know you know we're hoping that that were on getting close to the other side but it's still going to be of months we right now good and because we were in that essential category so we're not super worried about supply chain but were daily back to the daily attentive to it and always kind of ask our suppliers like we're good right. We're right and we do have our frontier team on our side chain. Every morning we we meet together with recalled the coveted nineteen task force. So were meeting every morning with this task. Force made up of ood manufacturing lead our legal team our HR team Our community team and our communications team. And we're we're doing that. So we can keep track of all these things and so we have teams under them that are tracking supply chain all the cliff bars that are going to the stores are. GonNa want in the future inside of balancing. That out is just a big rash or is this going to happen. You know slowly and then you know what level are being of yet but it's interesting that this is a time. This is the first time that our business models to kind of a full test like it's easy when you're not easy but so we have this five lines business model you know sustain Your Business. Our brands where people are our community and our planet and it's worked but now we're in the crisis trying to keep this model ally We're not just a successful company over here. Supporting our community and giving thousands of hours of community service not no work in the fire and we're trying to continue keeping those values in tap and living values so so far so good but Has Not Been Easy.

"Beyond personal plays along. She also seems to know exactly. What's up with a wink and a nudge? Trump has been making the press and the public complicit in his lies since forever. Take the two thousand seven launch of trump vodka a great tasting and. I'm very proud of the fact. Actually that I don't drink but you see what he did there too great tasting dot com. And I'm very proud of the fact that I don't drink but it's a vodka that people really like it you know it's taken off. Like the only place. Trump vodka took off was Israel where it was marketed. As Kosher for Passover an investigation by the Jerusalem Post found some trump vodka was not kosher And when they joined the trump organization trump's children also learned to spin hyperbole and deception. We have many projects that are actually selling. I talked forty units in Panama Panama. We sold it a five hundred percent premium anything. The luxury market had ever experienced prior to our entry when it comes to the trump organization misrepresentations were frequent now. Trump is doing the same as president since January twentieth. Two Thousand Seventeen. We have been documenting every false. Or misleading statement made by President Trump. Glenn Kessler is editor of The Washington. Post fact checker. He spoke with trump INC producer Catherine Sullivan in August. And how many Arab to today as of today so as of August fifth the numbers. Twelve Thousand Nineteen Kessler says. They don't even do that. He tells defensive I never told Don mcgann to fire muller no collusion. No obstruction was a complete and total. Exoneration Andy Fudges seemingly inconsequential stuff. "That common fifteen minutes say fifteen percent or more on car insurance you know lot of people complain and and we're certainly I think we're past this point because we realize head trauma is is that we have now for years yeah real thing it's not a figment of our imagination it's not society getting soft it is a necessary reaction to evidence that we simply as society had to react to and we have that's great thing you know it's really starting to really really ruin the NFL for me with a hand and it just it hit me again last night but it really hit me in a way that it hasn't hit me before now has nothing to do this is not I one of the sinks to winter on yeah I had the over which I won I had no I had no side right this is a role that although the three points that but this is a material to that this is just a football take no other agenda. I don't think that it's fair anymore to allow and to to have a a template within a game where. and for a moment independent of last night okay where we just in totality where our team could maybe not handle their business through the course of fifty eight or fifty nine minutes and because the way the rules are set up and the timing mechanisms of the game and I are not set up where you can go seventy yards in nineteen seconds if you have a time out fifty eight for your fugal it basically still the game yeah we just become a real problem which is exactly what happened last night it happened last night but I was but it again it's not it's not about whether the same rates or the Texans are it happens too much you watching game you want your game and you watch the battles in the trenches and the flow chart and you know which team is on point who protects the rock who plays with integrity who's not overly penalize who really quote unquote deserves to win and then because you have well you know one pass interference one little bubble screen that somebody rambles thirteen yards and scoots out of bounds and here comes a hundred ninety three or kick a try not to the field any bags at the fifty yard because again headed to the moon these days because they they're still strong and that the physics behind their kick it every every angle is accounted for it's hurting the game yeah I mean there's never a two minute drill do what Dr yeah Hey Dan Marino wore these stars from back in the day two minutes felt like all my god to and again I know because we get a happy medium like two minutes feels like I got though I do go to the bathroom I could crack a beer I could check out of this two minutes we're not even close to being done but that's what twenty three seconds to start to feel like yes you're right for football whoa I beat it's I think it's the efficiency of football these days in especially with some of these a league quarterbacks we if you give it it was also Tom Brady see it all the time with Tom Brady you given less that let you know as long as it's more than fifteen or twenty seconds any as almost the whole field to go you can make it he's given position drew Brees is that way the Ben Roethlisberger is probably still that way the certain guys that you know they can do it Phil Rogers Rogers is Philip rivers he's got. they've been around for a long enough time that they can they know what defense they're going to get because defensive coordinators get scared at this point and so they sit back in these zones on if you have a time out like the saints did last night it's stealing yes I eat no guys going to be fifteen yards back so go up to fifteen your hard to create a the catch a hook call time out and you're you're right the worst about about but they take the time out they take away the five lines most of the times but if you have a time out of some I knew that the same for winning that game as soon as as soon as they had that tax I thought they were gonna use it before they didn't as soon as they had that time out on that last play that drew Brees through I think it was to Michael Thomas day was over you know it's over time out two seconds left will let's drills a field goal game is over and the heroics of the show on what's in which were spectacular in of itself because it would be passes on the first of the Hopkins is right they would walk. they weren't you know like I'm being given Duncan and they don't go to any takes off and he's you know breaks a couple tackles and gets twenty thirty yards distrowatch it was still on the ball down the field including the one if you're watching years on the network to Kenny stills a new acquisition it should have been the game winner to will lots with utmost confidence just drilled that fifty eight are seven yards easily indoor and in Orleans easily bother them see the footage of Anderson tried now when he had nobody bang this the extra three order whatever water whatever was in the nineteen seventy and he took a half a step before noon on an angle like a just a direct path to the ball one half a step out of how we kicked it as far as he did this is beginning to ruin the integrity of the game of why do you hate it because I don't want to kick her to have that much influence on the game I understand it's a necessary part of football I get it but you can't have both he myths at you know bang helmets for fifty nine minutes and then you know based on on just on the the lay out of the field and get the timing mechanism and the precision of the game I don't know what you do dear rewrite the rule book did you got tweak something I don't know if you can that this it ruins the game but think about but if you do it enough and did follow me here for a second do it enough a creepy become legendary I one of the reasons we're surprised about Adam in a teary from last week as you mention in the top of that in the first segment and we talked about yesterday as well with the three missed field goals the reason that we it's shocking to us that that happens is because he's become a legend in the NFL certainly with the stops that he's been at because in moments to win the football game it even at the Superbowl level he's done it consistently we're going to the reasons the Tom Brady has all those championships is because they had an infinity here is the kicker and he would drill field goals with no time left all the pressure in the world on him he D. drill it was it was over and over and over and over again so we came to expect it but now that he's what is the forty four it's a forty six babies forty. six whatever it is for these forty five like I said I it's almost to the point where if Adam been tear reason that point it at that has that opportunity you want to see him do it because you know he's going to do it and with the expectation of the novel and it becomes if people if we go up kicking a legend dot sorry I mean what I'm saying kicking gluttons that's how kicking legends are born I get that but is is well lots of kicking legend nobody both these guys Adam from sixty if he if he does this on a regular basis to win football games he will be does it on the right I mean think about this team lacks either bangs in a field goal their own or scores a touchdown with thirty one seconds to go yeah what's up one the ensuing kickoff. into the stands basically yes you know that that's going to happen take it over to twenty five yeah but it does look even that's not exciting to me but it was smart like some paid yeah given comes across the second half he didn't use timeouts hit two time outs with thirty three seconds on the ballot boxes always have time out in the back part II right. we need to I'm not discrediting him it's better in time because you see all these coaches that half the time beginning of the second of all you have a place to ramble died out call time you take the five. in a passing league take the five year typically don't call timeout unless it's like thirty one and you and you don't have a plate in the end you got a you know scramble to get a call and workable that template so moment of like that yeah good I I got to. take the time out good coaches don't do that and they get rewarded at the end of game I'm not take some great Sean Payton's a leak we love we have on the show every year is a great coach at which he was coach my team I love Sean Payton we I always half right as the way I'm not discrediting short I'm not discrediting these the saints in their execution or drew Brees in the great catches at and the resilience and I I'm not that much to do with it it's the process it's not the specifics of last night it's the poor it's the it's the specifics of the process that have become too worldly so get just to finish the formula all right Europe by a point while forty one your vehicle yeah eighteen next goes up by one day and that they need so we can't call goes out of bounds no one can return it you take it at the twenty five you secure the boundaries as you properly pointed out don't let it get to the sideline in the middle of the field you got the one time out of my store receivers why they'll be in the middle of feel for a twenty four yard game can't you. at the end of that would go through the twenty five two with the minimum his old forty five he's getting ready to sniff midfield time out all right Donna so they go from thirty one to that probably takes five six seven seconds time out they have twenty three twenty four seconds you've got a quarterback is have we efficient you've got to basically go twenty more yards which he does recorder back to the forty yard lines two weeks and hit the field goal but it's too we should you put the pressure on the defensive coordinator take a risk well that's part of the equation yes yes I agree to play man yeah yeah sure thank you you could throttle yourself by playing may get burned but you also you limit the easy the ease of completion specially when a team as to time outside the surprise I don't know if I'd be surprised by this but it did did bill o'brien realize that there were two timeouts left for the saints because if there if you had to have it due to time outs left for the saints you can't play zone yeah that's true you just can't yeah half because it'll it at that. and so it's I put this more on the defensive coordinator you have bullets first we gotta get bruised somebody's got hit on can't let him stand there in front of. wide receiver you know way. yeah I I wanna get on my soapbox the but it this is the problem of the NFL the kicker is it you know it's kind of a bailout and again it's not necessarily specific. this is job. give me mad at the kicker because. the kicker I'm just I think the kickers get too much influence I think it will win a kicker kicking a fifty eight yard field goal like the way that will let's did and how it was set up by drew Brees yes they were. in the pantheon of his of his to his throws they were probably at the bottom of of difficulty yeah everything I do because they were wide open you know thirty or twenty one thirty yard throw one for eighteen yards or whatever it was but then well let's keep the faith that was a sixty yard field goal indoors with nary a breeze with the most benign conditions L. on perfect he still had to make it I had an idea like credits good kicker he is a good cook my team told trials for kicker. let's throw yeah I would think will close on my team at this point or whoever we tried out there Monday night to go to the heart of the gay guys good as a part of the game they can't change that. they're not going to change that I'm not saying that the arms in the short it means just eight Adam Sam to break in using that was it Sam Ficken that you knew Kickin kicker that we actually sign of where the hell is he from. I know I know ray Mickens. Sam Ficken sixty well figured no es big whiskey from he was with the Packers he kicked at Penn state is a good. the worse the guard worth all the guys love and basically he was the best of the five they brought in house. Carli Lloyd you never showed your new year negated your argument moment you're desiring a kicker to bake a cake in the moment because it's a part of the rules until not I've got a list comply and try to try to do it I don't know do you think people really like seeing all these walk off kicks you think the row height it go lost I don't know what what am I missing something walk of kicks are now exciting and here's the other problem at least we'll get the update for mac we get them about that about the second but if it at least at this like the eighties with the nineties and you can play defense then I might say it's not as punitive but you can't you tell me why did why don't the blitz in one of the bring the heat because they're terrified of a briefing on the quarterback getting with the shoulder pads fifteen yards Janet somebody thought that at the sixty yard illegal content automatic first down five your you can't do anything through the almost have to lay back and pray to god that somehow somebody shakes it off the off the upright like the bears. nine eight five five two one two forty two twenty seventy can tear the shell so that's my little take on the kicking seem get accepted right now in Baghdad abounds after that Charles Davis our number two little Fox Sports analyst Kevin Durant with some really compelling takes on the NFL we will do that at the top of the hour and we get to the in bands at about at the rack which is right now..

What do we think about the new Samsung galaxy S ten well are we lay Blumenthal from USA day? He's been playing with phone for days. And he's going to feel everyone in on his thoughts about the new the latest galaxy. We learn things are on jet. Yes. The galaxy s ten s ten family really comes out on Friday, March eighth and I've been using the ten plus for the better part of the last week and a half, and it's an excellent phone. It's got a beautiful six point four inch display. That's the ten plus model the ten in SNES slightly smaller displays absolutely stunning screen of really cool new fingerprint sensor that after software update seems to work fine that puts print sensor inside the display. It's got five cameras. Total three on the back and two on the front of the cheaper. Remodel the us. And the only has a three cameras or ally. The headline for the people that have an essay Rana's nine what are the major improvements differences with this phone? So the three main differences the display it now is similar to the iphone that goes edge to edge in covers Samsung says ninety three percent or just over ninety three percent of the display. There's a little cutout for the front camera as opposed to the iphone in the pixel which have what's known as a notch that little bar along the top of the phone the fingerprint sensor is no longer on the back. It's now built into the screen, which is really cool futuristic vibe there. And then lastly, the cameras so on the ten plus which is the motto I've been using for the last week and a half. There are five total sensors three on the back to on the front on the back on the SMS ten plus in new Oltra wide lens, which is something Sampson hasn't had on their phones on their line of phones. At least before I let you take. Really wide angle shots. And actually, I found to be pretty good and on the front on the S ten. Plus, there's a second camera for better, I guess depth than southeast. Okay. Who let let's go to those five lines. And so one of them is wide one of them is normal. And what end the other one the other three are what? So they're five centers. So the three on the back are wide, which is the standard lens that most people use a telephoto lens which provides an extra zoom, and then this new Oltra wide mode. That captures more of the field of use. Samsung says is a more complete field of you similar to what you see with your eye. All right. So after using this phone for week and a half would you ditch the eight or the nine to buy the new on the nine I'm not so sure just because last year, you probably spent a lot of money to get the nine and the differences Walter nice the altar wide lenses. Nice. The fingerprint sensors, cool, the display looks great. The nine is fantastic phone, and it still is a fantastic phone. The new software updates at Samsung has started rolling out with Android. Nine are excellent. So there's no real rush. If you just got a phone. On the last couple of months, even in the last year to necessarily digit and jumped to the new one if you have an eight and the battery starting to go, and the cameras may be isn't performing as well as you would have liked then. Yes, if you're happy with galaxy, and you love that phone the ten plus or the ten line released a natural upgrade and one that you'll be pretty happy with its phone season. "five line" Discussed on KOA 850 AM

"Sorry, folks. I was waiting forty five seconds for the printer to print five lines. Obviously, greetings, welcome back. Rush Limbaugh, the network and the Limbaugh institute. Great to have you with us. Your phone calls in this hour, eight hundred two eight two two eight eight two if you want to be on the program, the president just had little gaggle with the medium. In the in the Oval Office in the upshot of it is is that he says he's got tremendous Republican support on this. This is in reaction to there's an AP story out there saying that the Republicans are cracking reform. What's the headline Republicans cracking? That's the drudge headline Republicans cracking. It means Republicans going wobbly Republicans getting nervous they knew about that. They always cave during Republicans shutdowns they're used to having caved before this. So they're out there getting nervous and so forth and Trump was asked about it. And he said he's got tremendous GOP support listed some names. And he said that he would be the I know if he doesn't have the support of congressional Republicans and spent some time going after people in the media as well. Jonathan Karl ABC news that Trump wants a deal says he'll go the route of calling a national disaster on the border. If he has to. So all indications are that the president remains committed to this. I think the story is like Maggie Haberman the New York Times saying that Trump let it be known at the luncheon yesterday. He didn't even really want to do this speech last night. You know, he didn't even really wanna do. It yo is being forced into doing this by his communication stamp his hearts, really not in a dream on you people. I don't think the media has earned our right? Our expectation to believe them. I don't think they're even close. I think the default reaction to anything. They report about Trump ought to be. We just don't believe this. Now, we're going to wait for independent confirmation of it. Because we know you people are out trying to ruin this man and his presidency. And so anything you say about him, we're going to be suspicious of and Trump took it on directly today again pointing out that ES tremendous GOP support and that he'd be the first to know that if he if he did. But you know, what what what's say? Just for hypothetical purposes here for the fun of it. Let's say the Trump begins to lose some Republican support. You think he could still go this alone by definition? He can go it alone. I for one happen to believe, you know, you've heard stories that Trump is isolated and alone in the White House. And these stories basically were out there over Christmas. Trump was supposed to come down here. Supposed to come down to marijuana go, which is his resort. And he was going to spend to complete weeks and before the trip. What was the media saying the media was saying that Trump's exhausted that he's depressed that he hates the White House, and he despises Washington, and he's got to get back home. And he's got to get back to familiar surroundings. And he's got to get back to where they're at least some people who don't mind him being around, and then the shutdown came and Trump announced that he was staying in Washington for the duration that he was not going to be going to Merrill, log. Oh, and so then what did the media do? Other media started with these stories. Trump is is elated and alone spending Christmas with no friends, and nobody there in the White House, and they tried to create this impression that this is a very dangerous time we have this. Isolated lonely despondent depressed. President stuck in the White House. Nowhere to go. Nobody wants nobody wants to hang. Around with this is this is what we got as news. Now, I think when you start talking about political isolation, let's say a bunch of Republican members of congress. Do go wobbly. We wouldn't be surprised what we. This is exactly why Donald Trump was elected. I don't think Trump supporters, the Trump baser or whatever the idea that all of Washington would from time to time be aligned in a raid against him is anything other than what was expected. It's why he was elected. He is a known outsider and we were talking about yesterday. I still don't think anybody in that town knows how to translate Donald Trump. Let me tell you a little story without names. I had occasion what in the past twelve months to play golf with some people in the Trump regime. Three of them want to me. These are all limited government people. These are all very loyal and reliable. Conservatives not a never-trumper among them. Don't misunderstand. But they all work in government. And I'm telling you for eighteen holes. They were talking a different language. And it was clear to me that they relished it. I mean, they're in government, and they've got their jobs there, and they very much. Appreciate them. But there was no indication of there being any distrust of government or any of the things that you and I. Associate with it. Now. My my point is. Trump's not one of those people Trump is not a government guy. He's a private sector person whose life has been lived whose successes have been realized as far outside that realm as you can get the closest Trump came to it was occasionally toying with the idea of running and donating to various candidates, but in terms of living his life and running his business. His relationship. The politics was dealing with whatever regulations stood in his way. But government was not as day. Government was not his way of life. Even Trump's supporters in the government, even people that love Trump and the government is their way of life. Now, you add to this into the mix people who hate Trump enter in government and love it. And that's mostly the media because the media is as much a part of government is the democrat party is in. In their own minds. At least I don't th they disconnect and divide here is such that they still cannot even if they wanted to. I don't believe understand Donald Trump. I don't think they have the ability. Just step outside their world and look at how people outside their world live. They judge everybody on the basis of how they live and what they do what they say in the context of their world. And they judge it your upper down positive or negative based on that. It's the height the provincialism, and it's egoistic at the same time because there is no other world. And there's and if somebody in it does it adapt to them. Then they are the problem. Well, Trump is not going to adapt to them. I think he tried actually the first three maybe six months. He tried to adapt when he tried working with them on the ObamaCare repeal and replace in a number of other things some of his staff choices came from suggestions of the GOP hierarchy the Republican National Committee. He tried. I think he made every effort to try to adapt to that world and it got him nothing. It got him nowhere. It ended up that he ended up with a bunch of saboteurs. I have a story yesterday that I didn't get to. But I saved it, and I have it right here. And I I think this is right on the money. It's Steve Hilton who is the Brit. That came to fame during Brexit now works, Fox News, and the headline of his piece here Mattis Kelly March to the establishment beat Trump was right to fire them. It goes on to say was what's been going on for the past year or more? Is that elements of Trump's inner circle have literally been plotting to stop his agenda in order to protect the establishment and Hilton names names, Gary Cohn who was one of the early economic advisers. James mad dog Mattis secretary of defense. John Kelly the chief of staff and Rex Tillerson. Madison. Kelly may have been heroes in combat. But they don't know much about civilian government. The way they behave was not just disgraceful. But frightening. They tried to impose their military views even after they'd been rejected by civilian leadership. They were self righteous subversive in disloyal and swampy at the same time. After leaving the army Mattis was paid two hundred and forty two thousand dollars and up to five hundred thousand dollars invested stock options by the company, General Dynamics, they build tanks submarines and munitions. He also received twenty thousand dollars speaking fee from defense giant Northrop Grumman. John Kelly was paid one hundred and sixty six grand is an advisor to DynCorp or din corporate company gets ninety six percent of its revenue from government contracts, these ex-generals along with other former and current establishment stooges in the Trump administration just love telling their buddies in the press off the record, of course, about their noble role saving America from disaster by controlling it. Crazy president. Well, how did they get hired in the first place? As you know. And as I have reminded you on several occasions, I have been flummoxed extend perplexed by many of Trump's staffing choices. But as time has gone. I think I understand why they were made he was attempting to placate. He was attempting to build a bridge to these people. He was attempting to adapt. He was attempting to unify and it was a lost cause because the people to whom he was reaching out. We're wolves and sheep's clothing. And has their objectives to sabotage as much of his agenda as possible. And of course, if you remember when mad dog Mattis was hired. The.
