"Half around higher than it. Because i do think that this year year two for him is one in which he takes a monster. Step forward Joe yet ross Dobbins is one of those guys who's kind of slipped through the cracks me at this point. Because i've often found myself at the beginning of the third round in need of a wide receiver. I've ended up taking receivers at that point. But i do want to throw a couple of stats out. That kind of support. Michael's point here. Now keep this in mind over the last nine games last season mark. Ingram was essentially bench for the ravens. And then things started to kinda take off for them a little bit over that stretch a dobbins had one hundred one carries for five hundred ninety three yards and eight touchdowns he averaged thirteen point seven fantasy points per game in that would have ranked him over the full season or twenty two tied with kareem hunt. So he's going ahead of that. Rb twenty two. He's rb seventeen off the board give or take as an early third round. Pick but if you take a deeper look at the way he produced. "I'm fifty fifty may believe when he first I was gonna say it'd be close to the twenty to twenty five percent. Okay. That's fair. That's fair. Andrew luck comes in. And number two. Really? I feel like there's three guys that come in at two three four. Am. I would would we agree. They're like kind of the next grouping. We all have the same top four lakh Rogers Watson. That's how they ended up landing luck. Rogers Watson in that order based on how we rank them mostly because Mike had Rogers at four. Dummy. So Andrew luck forty thirty nine touchdowns for those and five hundred ninety three yards. You could kind of throw out those first three weeks of the season as he hadn't played football in about a decade or so it seemed but he had an NFL record eight straight games with three or more touchdowns from weeks four through twelve after that up period. And he was great. And this is a team that I love this is a team that I think in threatened four in AFC time the reason that I would put Aaron Rodgers and Andrew luck ahead of Watson. Even the Watson's been great is just because you have a history of basically those two players dominating. If you've got sixteen games from those two players, I you know, minus the rookie year for Aaron for Andrew luck. You're pretty much dealing with the top five guy almost every single time. You look at Andrew luck the fifth best two years ago. Fourth best the second best fourth-best even his rookie year is best. So you've got this history of like what's the floor? What's the floor for these guys barring injury or something like that? It's like it's like quarterback seven, and you've got a lot of data to support that. Between those two so far. I'm taking the gamble of. I think someone's going to be for sure. Locked and loaded top five Aaron Rodgers, Andrew luck. They just they've done it too many times. Yeah, they're fully in the kind of prime part of their career where you look at. When Brady was there. You didn't really care what the weapons were Brady was going to be in your top five top eight lock has hopefully healthy too I- Hilden funchess Hebron weapons of planning. They'll probably draft. Some did you have anything you want to add about Andrew luck before we talk. Rod. No, not look. I'm ready for Rogers. All right press..

"I did not come up with this. But how cool is this on my Twitter right now, it says after hours is tweeting about this. We're trending at least on my computer screen now. We don't have as many tweets as Sassou K is that what you said is Davis. What's his name Saskia SaaS K? So the US silent one hundred fifty four thousand tweets about SaaS gay. I wish I had the foresight to look and see how many tweets Adam gates is got twenty four hours ago that would have been fun. But I I didn't. So yes, SaaS K is dominating any type of sports conversation. So is Tricia paid us. She's also got a lot of tweets like thirteen thirty two thousand of them right now. Anyway, back to things that are bad for your health. You're sending me some creative tweets, which I appreciate and we'll get to those you can post your questions for asking me anything either show Twitter after our CBS or on our Facebook page. Could you imagine the Carolina Panthers without Cam Newton? Could you imagine them? Benching him for a year. What do you make me go after Nick foles then? Teddy bridgewater. Ryan fitzpatrick. I mean, he was also in the NFC south. He could be available for a bargain basement price. The owner David Tepper. He's being completely honest. About how big of an issue. This is for the Panthers moving forward. Listen that is obvious to everybody who watched this team. There's no secrets there Cam shoulder. Obviously was initially laid it later in the season a second half of the season. If you want to call it that. I think it's pretty well known that he wasn't throwing your practices. That was probably a problem through office rhythm and at the end of the season. You know, we control the ball downfield, which was a big problem. Okay. So David tavern believes. He's not telling you anything, you don't know. As the Panthers dropped seven of their last eight games. And the owner of the team is saying he couldn't throw the ball downfield. I mean, let's be honest. There are some quarterbacks in the NFL who can't throw the ball downfield. Cam newton. I agree with him the Russ definitely played a role. It's like going out and only golfing once a week. I mean, you might hit some good shots. But you're not gonna be nearly as consistent as someone who's out there practicing as rhythm and timing and that feel every day. It's after hours on CBS sports radio. So obviously, if they're keeping all their options open and looking at worst case scenario hashtag things that are bad for your health as a Carolina Panthers fan. Not having your starting quarterback for two thousand nineteen. The idea though, is that you have to think long term, and and that's the job of an owner for sure. Of course, I'm concerned about it. I think you know, we and him are going to do everything we can to try to make that shoulder better. So I'm not going to be panicking about crimes Cam shorter this year. I don't think we're going to panic about Cam shoulder this year, hopefully as good, hopefully, he's great. Well, hopefully, Cam did get shut down the final two games because of the shoulder. And obviously the Panthers weren't gonna make the playoffs at that point. So there was no reason to keep him out there on the field. But I'll tell you this Bumi away. If it's that bad. Why wasn't he shut down before? They lost six games in a row. Seven games in a row. But as I mentioned seven of their last eight games. And they tanked they literally fell off the edge of the cliff. If in fact, the earth was flat as Kyrie Irving believes, they got to the end and to the edge and fell off. That's where they went. Now could the success of Andrew luck in taking a year off. And he didn't want to he had to they had no choices. They stopped started. They tried over and over to get him healthy without taking all the extra time. And every time he came back. He had soreness and every time he came back. There were complications. But after having the year away and after they were Uber cautious with Andrew lock. He comes back the season thirty nine touchdowns the second most of his career. They had an offensive line in front of them that protected him big time was it forty three forty five hundred ninety three yards. It was it was a right around forty five forty six hundred yards passing. So could that be? An encouragement to the Panthers as they think about what to do with their starting QB. Now, what about personnel changes again owner, David Tepper of the Carolina Panthers making all of his comments on their website? And he starts out by referring to general manager Marty Herni so started with Morty. I think you know, I think that he has a good handle good handle on the draft. And I'm pretty sure that he can look at the talent we need in the draft to make the team better, which I think he has contributed to wo- contributed to in the future. As far as Ron is concerned. Iran is a good coach he has a locker room still always had never lost. If you look through the season. What happened? There was some unforeseen things there. And again, if you look at camp shoulder, and you're really analyze it. You know, it was a couple of games there that if but for the shorter we would have won. I mean, I appreciate that. Mr. Tepper is just laid it all out there. But gosh, if your Cam Newton, and you're hearing that you kind of feel like crap like the poop emoji. That's how you feel to describe it and pictures there were a couple of games there. Now, I don't agree with any. I don't agree with that. You can't go back and rewrite history. You can't say, oh if Cam Newton could it hit a couple more passes. We would have one these games. It's it's not that simplistic. But the fact that he's even willing to say that if he could throw the ball downfield. There's a couple more games. We would have one. Ouch. That hurts. I mean, what about the the game that your defense gave up so many points that your offense couldn't keep up? There's a lot of blame to go around there. However, things that are bad for your health disagreeing with the boss. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. You wanna know another thing that's bad for your health? Potentially acting like a diva in the NFL. New Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach, Bruce, Arians course, you also have heard him on CBS all year is a member of our NFL TV stable. I'm not even sure he's allowed to be talking about players from other teams. But whatevs. He was on the Adam Schefter podcast. And this was his direct quote about Antonio Brown. There's too much. Sorry. Let me start that again reset. There's too much. Miscommunication too, much dot dot dot diva. I don't think he said the dot dot. I think he probably just took a bit pause. There's too much miscommunication too, much diva. He's gotta make better decisions off the field. Be on time. Do some of those little things. And then he even goes back to two thousand ten. When the Steelers drafted him and said, that's not the same guy that I remember from him getting drafted. That's not the same guy. I remember as a rookie. Again. This is the Adam Schefter podcast. He says he was the hardest working. He and Emmanuel Sanders. They went after it because Mike Tomlin used to tell them to dogs one bone. Oh, that's so Mike Tomlin. Why do we not have Mike Tomlin saying two dogs one bone? I want that Mike Tomlin drop can anyone do impersonations. So we can fake it two dogs one bone on. My gosh is that not. That's Mike Tomlin hashtag things that are bad for your health. Two dogs one bone. Anyway, you said the end of the season they were both winning for us to go to the Super Bowl. But he says Antonio Brown is different now. Areas was there as the offensive coordinator, he knows he's familiar with Antonio Brown, but doesn't like the direction that he's gone since he got paid hashtag things that are bad for your health. I mean, the the nice payday that I can.

"While ago, it will make things very difficult. Both teams practice outside this week. New dry. Football's will be ready for every snap ads for the field threat talked about it earlier the chiefs install the heating system a couple years back under the playing surface of the field usually around fifty degrees. But that also means it softens guys while you're only testing their shoes. That will be an issue today. Tried to figure out there perfectly. But more than anything. It's cold. It's loud. Every play. You told me the same thing. Ryan. We're not worried about this weather about communication making. Sure, we're all on the same page, Laura. Thanks very much. That's always the challenge. When you come here to Kansas City is trying to stay on the same page. They like to promote it the loudest stadium in professional sports play one hundred forty two decibels here a couple of years ago. They're going to be loud today for this game between the chiefs and the colts coin toss took place at midfield. Kansas City won the toss they deferred to the second half. So Indianapolis will get the ball to start the game. The chiefs will take the field in their red uniforms with white numbers, white pants and red helmets Pulitzer in their white jerseys with blue numbers white pants, and they have the white helmets time for the opening kickoff. Brought to you by peleton. The game changing indoor cycling by any weather is perfect for peleton. No matter how rough it gets this winter. There's always a ride waiting for you at home. Harrison Butger has the football teed up at the thirty five yard line. Zach Paschal weights yards deep in the end zone. Butko to kick it away for more left or right? And we are underway in the AFC divisional playoffs. Haskell cutting up takes middle field. Spread ahead of the ten angles. Fifteen twenty Attias tackled right there. Anthony, Sherman getting down to make the stop. And we will see Andrew lock in the Indianapolis offense on the field. I at the twenty yard what a season Brantley look forty five hundred ninety three yards thirty nine touchdowns second in the NFL that category to Patrick Mahomes. Marlin MAC is the starting tailback big game for him a week ago with the wildcard with one hundred forty eight yards on the ground t y Hilton Dontrelle Inman, Chester Rogers are the wide receivers. Eric abroad is tight end. I intend for Indianapolis. The twenty yard line over on the right hash two receivers. Right. Single bad. Luck. Luck will open up in the shock Yanni. Takes the snap. He's going to hand back running. What side wrapped up and proper a loss. Kansas City was all over that. One back at the seventeen four comes charging through. It'll be a loss of a couple and bring up second out along. Well, that's one of the things we talked about Laura just hit on the communication part of it. And how much of a factor? The noise is going to be on the snap of that ball. Andrew luck in shotgun. Just hands the ball off underneath deep. Comes off the ED's tackle. Brayden Smith is a little slow coming off the ball Forbes able to get up the field quickly and make that tackle in the back loss at three back to the seventeen yard line. Luckily, go under center second down at thirteen receivers. Right. Luxor days next chiefs defense, proud, bacon, noise. What takes the snap? He'll talk it out the back right side cuts it up along it offers twenty yard line out to the twenty-five breaks. A tackle any dives out to about the twenty eight Daniel Sorensen, the free safety comes up to make the stop. It's a run a ten and that will bring up third down to three we'll tell you about the colts. Upfront. Ryan Kelly is the starting center with Quinton Nelson. The rookie pro bowler and Morton Lewinsky at the guards and Smith and Anthony Costanzo are the tackles chiefs upfront with Chris Jones and Alan Bailey. Derek naughty isn't the middle. Justin, Houston Depor. Anthony Hitchens Reggie Ragland of the linebackers scheme. Nelson. Kendall fuller the corners. Eric Murray starts Eric berry today at strong safety. You just heard for dangled in the free safety. Third down at three football is at the twenty-seven overall. Opening grab the ball game. Lock is the shotgun. Three receivers left. Luck gets the snap. Back to throw for the first time since he speak brochure over the middle. And it's incomplete looking for Eric Hebron, the tight end diving catch just over the thirty. He couldn't hang on an idiot. Apple Lewis goes three and out. And that's a big three and out Ryan for this Kansas City defense when you consider the colts coming into this game or number one in the NFL in third down conversions Andrew luck. At two receivers opened the two inside receivers just crossed underneath right at about five yards. This is caused some confusion, but the depth of the linebackers for Kansas City allowed them to get the first down just not able to hang onto that football though. And now they have to point Rigoberto Sanchez the putted away. Tyreek hill waiting Bill backing up on a high spiralling kick has it at the twenty yard line runs. Right slips and falls of the eighteen gets back to the speed running wide. Right. Picks up the block the quarter of the twenty twenty five thirty thirty forty self grow behind it out of bounds. They're gonna Mark you out up with a forty four. There is a penalty. Flagged down all the return. Tyreek hill stumbling down but was able to pick that football up and a big return. We'll see if it's gonna stand though. Fifty three yard kick. Twenty five yard return. John hussy is our referee today. And we'll hear from it. It looks like this is coming back. During the kick all the receiving team number thirty nine. I valley. So instead of having the ball at their own forty four or forty five yard line. Kansas City is going to start back inside their own fifteen yard line. They're going to have it at the nine Patrick Mahomes. What a year for him the second year out a Texas Tech fifty touchdowns five thousand ninety seven yards. Damian Williams is the starting tailback tyreek hill DeMarcus Robinson it. Sammy Watkins back from injury will start at wide receiver. Travis Kelsey is the tight end. I ten for Kansas City shot. Gutty takes the snappy fixed. The handoff fires. Potpie? He'll look over the twenty between the hash marks diving down out over the twenty one yard line. I of course, play a pickup of eleven on that throw to tyreek hill. Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Even at this early age with the with the play fake in the quick throw on the slant with Williams going right to left us a quick fake underneath that draws the linebackers in just the slant right behind their shoulders the linebacker shoulders into tyreek hill chiefs upfront with Mitch Morris at center camera ain't Wiley the guards Mitchell Schwartz at Eric Fisher attackers Kansas City for their own twenty more broad Minneapolis was in the neutral zone. Benico Autry came across. Let's see if he was draw. This is on a fraction. Did he go Autry starting inside with Margus hunt for Indianapolis Jamal sheared in Alquitaine? Muhammad are the starting defensive ends Anthony Walker Nause good the linebackers along with theory is Leonard what a year that. He is at first female pro is a rookie here to see your Kenny more are the corners gathers George over the safety. I down at five now for the twenty six for Kansas City. The holds is back in the shotgun. Two receivers. Right. One of the left, David Williams. Wind up to the homes, right? Here's the snap. A whole just going to hand it off sweeping cuts it up at the numbers. And he's out to about the twenty eighth still driving lakes four they'll give him the twenty nine and maybe a little bit more ecologically. You just jumped off site a second ago to stop but a good job by Williams. Kept those lakes driving, and he's all the way out close.

"Nine yards five touchdowns. Robert woods. Fifty six catches seven hundred eighty one yards five touchdowns. And Sammy Watkins who as we know is someone that has a lot of issues. Thirty nine catches five hundred ninety three yards. Eight touchdowns. Those are decent numbers. Great numbers. But they're decent numbers for your top three wide receivers. So that after the two thousand seventeen season Olson goes to the raiders with the raiders in two thousand eighteen with Jon Gruden so there's an opening for the quarterbacks coach, and Sean McVay elevates Zack Taylor to be as quarterbacks coach in two thousand seventeen that would be that was the year that that Taylor was the assistant wide receivers. Coach in twenty seventeen Jared Goff completed sixty two percent of his passes through for thirty eight hundred yards twenty eight touchdowns seven interceptions. I mean, they're solid numbers. Right. They're not great solid. But remember you Todd Gurley. This year. With Zach Taylor as the quarterbacks coach completes sixty five percent of his passes better throws for four thousand six hundred ninety eight yards about eight hundred yards. More from the previous season. Thirty two touchdowns twelve interceptions. That's a that's a really good season. That's a really good season for quarterback not off the charts. Crazy good. But really good. So you could see the Goff. Kind of took the next step this year. But you wonder is that progression? Because of he's just in the league another year or because of the coaching. I don't know if you can figure that stuff out let me know because I don't know anybody who can. Zac Taylor had an impact on Jared Goff from last season this season. The thing I I just worry about. And I don't know if this is a concern inside the bowels of Paul Brown stadium. But if you got a guy who's only been a Taylor has a history with the Miami Dolphins. And and then he had he had some interim I believe coordinator experience with the dolphins. So I'm not trying to run down. What he what he what his resume is. I'm just saying that in a league that is constantly Morphing and constantly changing. They've hired a guy who's been a position coach. I just wonder if if if if the smart guys at Paul Brown stadium understand they got us around this dude would some really good young minds on both sides of the ball. But more important with a really good savvy defensive coordinator. And their their names. I mean can throw any kind of names you want out there. I believe Don Capers is available cardinals were looking at Capers before they hired Vance Joseph now, he's at three or four guy. I don't know. I don't know if that translates to what they wanna do here. Whether or not they they view him as somebody that would fit that position. But my fear is is that if you hire someone who doesn't really have the resume, and it's a thin resume for his act Taylor. No, no commentary on whether or not he's a good or bad coach. It's a thin resume. You gotta support him with really smart savvy guys. And that's why it's great to go out and hire somebody that's been in a program. That's really really done. Well, higher sombody in a program. That is the talk of the NFL. But more important, you're piecing together a staff that is going to be equally as important as the head guy that you're hiring. And so one way or the other whether you like that tell you don't like this act Taylor if he if it's anybody besides Hugh, Jackson, whatever whatever turns you want about this higher the real heavy lifting is yet to come. I want to know what you think about this. I really do. I mean, I I mean, I because I don't want to sound like some old man shaking, his fist at the cloud saying where have you gone NFL?.

Roberto Osuna makes Houston Astros debut, tosses perfect eighth inning against San Francisco Giants

"ESPN, app Allegra, Pilion this morning for Mike Golic junior Kennedy talk a little bit about the New York Jets and their quarterback situation. Sam, darnold get a chance to show what he can do in a real game on Friday meanwhile the big, question hovering over New York Giants camp is the contract status of Odell Beckham junior his representation leaving giants camp yesterday without a deal getting. Done because impart the giants have pegged Beckham's market value at. A total annual average salary lower then she's wide receiver Sammy Watkins according to. Our Josephine Anderson here's the latest on Odell Beckham junior's contract situation from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter got a, situation here where both sides want to get. This done before the start of, the regular season both sides are motivated, to get it done and when the deal is done assuming that they can work it out I would imagine it would make him the highest paid wide receiver in the game because you could dress up a deal to look any way you want in really come down. To the structure the deal and the guarantee Right but the big thing for the giants and for Odell Beckham mystic get that deal done to give him that long term security these sought after that the fellow wide receivers from his draft already have gun Adam Schefter on the six. PM sports, center, last night. Talking. About the Odell Beckham junior contract situation and I've I've read some some reports that people believe this is trending in the right. Direction which is which, is all well and good but I'm I'm I'm sorry If I'm Odell Beckham junior's, agent and, the giants say well we're going. To give Odell, a salary That's a total annual average salary less. Than that of Sammy Watkins I'm not just leaving I'm laughing in their. Faces and, then I'm leaving Sammy Watkins is nice player got a contract. From the Kansas City Chiefs last year Sammy Watkins had seventy catches for five hundred ninety three yards he has one account a. One thousand yard season, twenty had a really good year and thirteen games just over one thousand yards, nine, touchdowns nice player but it's Sammy Watkins I think, the Kansas. City Chiefs, overpaid him. And and yet you know to to bring him into the, conversation with, Odell Beckham junior. Who is in the conversation among those. Being the best wide receiver in the NFL that is ludicrous ludicrous and I get it it's a. Negotiation and you gotta start from somewhere and okay so the giants. Up their asking price. I mean I I get, it it's gotta start. From somewhere and you know you're probably gonna low ball the guy I. Mean I, understand but if if our motel Beckham junior Afam Odell Beckham. JR junior's age I'm sitting down I'm trying to get a deal done what would be the highest paid wide receiver in the. NFL I'm watching this, wide receiver market explode And you mentioned the name Sammy Watkins it only better be because he's, among the names whose salaries will be dwarfed by what I'm about to get or what I'm about to get for my client owed l. Beckham junior and Sammy Watkins, are not in the, same stratosphere not, even is not even in the same. Conversation. If I'm talking about best wide receivers. In the, NFL, no-one's Mel yes. Sammy Watkins that's not even. A name you, pull out to sound really, really smart. And nothing, against him.
