Left by i'd i know you're coming to us from new orleans this morning. You were with president biden on friday. What's the latest on the situation down in your state and what kind of federal emergency assistance will president biden be authorizing. Well we have all hands on deck down here. We issued a priest storm disaster declaration and then in the middle of the night after the storm hit. The president signed a disaster declaration so that freed up individual assistance for families and individuals and we still encourage people to go to disaster assistance dot gov and apply for benefits and especially those critical needs assistance. So that we can get money in the hands of people To do it and one of the reasons why the president wanted to come down and come down so early because he wanted to see things on the ground and we know what the problems on. we're actually Helping to resolve them and that is getting power back on in homes. That's getting gas too. Few stations desk getting tarps out there. So people can start to mitigate their damage. and then it's to to create and provide that assistant so people that do come home after a week of not having electricity to have to replenish refrigerator. And you know most people. Don't think of it in that sense but part of why we're here is we want to know what real people deal with. And that's a four hundred dollar expense. A five hundred dollar expense to replenish a refrigerator. So we wanna make sure that's just a small example of what we're doing but we wanna make sure we're meeting. The needs of people encounter them and let them know. We're going to be here for the long haul

Paying for College and Curbing Student Debt
"I heard about sharing kelly in her massive college debt through josh mitchell. I'm an economics reporter at the wall street journal in washington. Dc josh covered student debt at the journal for nearly a decade. And he's just written a book out this month about the federal student loan program and its history called the debt trap. How student loans became a national catastrophe. The idea of the federal government lending students money for college originated after world war two with a gi bill. There was a provision that offered qualified servicemembers five hundred dollars a year for college of continuing education gi bill. It wasn't until the late nineteen fifties under president. Whitey eisenhower that other groups became eligible for college aid. Josh says the idea took off shortly after another launch when russia sent its sputnik satellite into space. A new moon in the sky at twenty three inch metal sphere placed in orbit by a russian is super excited to read in your book that it was scientists who implored lawmakers and even the president at the time to come up with a way to get more. American students enrolled in science and engineering president. Eisenhower who was a small government type of republican really did not want the government to get involved in higher education. He felt like that was a state issue but there was this pivotal meeting that he had with scientists less than two weeks after sputnik launched. These were like top scientists in the united states including ceo's of big companies and they basically said You have to act now. You know if we don't act now if we don't get more people into science education. We're going to fall behind
How Much Does a Wedding Actually Cost?
"Experts project that twenty twenty one wedding costs will rebound what they were in two thousand nineteen if not higher so let's take a look at the twenty nineteen numbers. According to wedding wire the average cost of a wedding reception per couple was around. Twenty eight thousand dollars. Although i'd venture to say it was probably a little higher. Because according to the not here are the average costs involved with a wedding reception. Buckle up because it's a long one ten thousand five hundred dollars for a reception. Venue two thousand four hundred dollars for a photographer. Eighteen hundred dollars for a video for two thousand dollars for florist sixteen hundred dollars for a wedding dress. Three thousand seven hundred dollars for a wedding band twelve hundred dollars for a reception. Dj seventy dollars per person for catering and the average wedding in two thousand nineteen had one hundred and thirty one guests. I guess it's an odd number because of all the singles who want to go home or at least go to bed with a new plus one and that brings the total cost of food to nine thousand one hundred and seventy dollars. The rehearsal dinner costs on average eighteen. Hundred dollars five hundred ninety dollars for the invitations. One hundred dollars for the hairstylist hundred bucks for the makeup artist. Four hundred bucks for the party favors and last but certainly not least five hundred dollars for the cake that is a total of thirty five thousand nine hundred and seventy dollars to put that into perspective that the lot more than the down payment on one hundred and seventy five thousand dollar house or tuition for a year and a half at florida state university. It's a huge chunk of change. And again i would still argue that. Those estimates are probably low. I mean shout out to the bride. Who's spending one hundred ten bucks on a hairstylist. But if you're living in la you're probably spending five times that amount which brings me to an important point of course. These averages vary widely depending on factors like location. What time of year and even what day of the week it is. You're tying the
Jake Recaps an Unreal $40K Weekend
"Jake you had a good weekend. You finish eighth in the five hundred dollar bracelet event for almost nine k. You chopped the party to fifteen major for six point five k. And you finished second in the w three twenty one hundred k. Guaranteed whilst heads up to a ten cents and go grindr which that got so so you got. You got twenty three for that. So that's what people wanna talk about. Is that that specific tournament score both burkey matt burke who you've had on the show software why he was streaming it with you at his table from maybe fourteen down and he made the final table as well and it was one of the more wild just rides to the final table. It was pretty crazy. I mean it's funny. How things can change so quickly. Because i mean i basically the chip lead from like i think eighty cash biscuit the chip lead from when the money head down to maybe like sixteen or seventeen and then all of a sudden. We're basically like there's twelve left. Eleven that them on the bubble. And it's like there's and on my table. It's me burkey Vlad was was a turning rag Another attorney rag. And i'll emc each in then the other table go now. The goat was on the other table. Chair Whenever his name was hammy or whatever you know jamming fish that ended up winning it Who was just like a total wild card and so it was i. I was actually fortunate to be pretty card debt and not really have like any like supergirl spots we final table. I literally the first hand this final table. This this guy opens under the gun and then calls like twenty blind region with queens suited And i'm like and i had to like i wasn't even like jan j hammy called with the quincy to raise called. Maybe two hands later. I mean it was just it was just wild. It was like he basically just like would randomly go and pre flop for any amount and he would call any amount like it was actually kinda gross. Because with like five left's i think I was five or five. And i had like seventeen blinds. Ali opens the cutoff and have an incredibly easy region with sixes on the button. But i'm man like obviously this is just like a amazing spot but this guy might call with jack antonoff from big blind like he's stole the chip lead end up getting through and didn't really face any. Ah of those like crazy hands until we got ended up getting heads
What Is the 'Freedom Phone'?
"You may have heard some chatter about a freedom phone. Five hundred dollar hands at that. Supposedly focuses on free speech and privacy. There's so many red flags of lethal recommend boy in this device. Let's break it down. Jane this is your daily charge joining me again to discuss. The freedom phone is seen. That's on expert and fellow. Lego disease patrick colin. Welcome patrick readings greetings. My fellow brick brother. So you're on yesterday to talk about the galaxy fifty two which was a decent five hundred dollar android smartphone. And today we're talking about different. Five hundred dollar hand said. Tell me about this freedom phone man. We're laughing because it. I think you gotta look at it as the whole thing in two things and if you look at the whole thing it's a five hundred dollar phone. It's on preorder now. And there's virtually nothing we know about in terms of specs and other features that we would normally spend probably this whole podcast talking about then. There's the other side of it. Which is the name freedom. Phone and its tagline is that it will prioritize free speech and privacy above anything else. It's backed by a self-proclaimed. Bitcoin millionaire named eric feynman he's funding the phone and he claims that it's freedom. Oso's ios or android will protect your privacy and that the app store is uncensored unsinkable. As the word he uses and the app stores called the patriot store so There's a lot of big claims A lot of this is tied to the second part of the phone. which is clearly. It's tied to
Bernard Lee Chats With Poker Pro Johnnie Vibes Moreno
"You have been playing cash for many years well over a decade and kind of mistakes cash. We're not talking high nose bleed kind of what is it. Been like for that because we will talk about your youtube presence. You're logging in how that really is taken off. But well prior to that you were poker player. It's not that you are of vlogger that plays poker. It's really the other way around. Is that you played poker for so many years and kind of logging has kind of come into this space how was it and what were your trials and tribulations playing cash poker for a living because everyone loves seeing the big scores but people don't understand the grind sometimes of six sessions in a row where you don't win everyone's happy when we have a twenty five hundred five thousand dollar pot and can show it on on air but how many times do you struggle struggle struggle and flush dr doesn't get there or you flopped upset and they get run a runner and now you're going home with you know only job in the world where you can work x. number of hours and go home poor right. I mean it's very rare that that happens talk about your trials and tribulations in how it got to the point where you really felt like you could steadily make a living at this. Because it's really hard. I remember the first day that i left my job as a software developer with 401k health benefits and all these things i remember thinking like if i if i don't make good money playing poker i can always go back and get offered job again and you know the i i i was doing. I was doing well right out of the gate. But you gotta keep in mind that it wasn't that difficult to make money playing cash game poker if you had a solid strategy fifteen years ago because the money was everybody you could find a two five game anywhere that was great and you know there was probably one hundred to five games on any given night in las vegas during this time so i i was doing well but naturally as you progress in any career you want to make more money than the previous year and you want to get better and you want to further your career and you know. That's that's easy to do. Fifteen years ago and poker. You know you could start applying one three. You can make thirty five thousand dollars that first year. Feel like it was amazing but the next year. You know your your goals maybe fifty thousand in the next year your goals. Maybe seventy five thousand. But then you reach a point where you're making around one hundred hundred twenty five thousand dollars a year and you realize that in order to make more than that you need to get substantially better. You need to find better games and the games needs to be big and what's interesting about. That is poker. Games were shrinking. They were getting smaller over the course of the last five to ten years and they were getting tougher. So no i even if even if you got better in your own poker game it didn't ensure that you were gonna make more money than the next year right. I remember i kind of plateaued about six years ago. Where i was in the one hundred to one hundred twenty five thousand dollar a year range and i didn't really see gray prospects for making more than that and and just as a natural Ambitious human being. That started sparking me. Like what else can i do to ignite passion in the game. And what else can. I do to keep things interesting for me. And that's kind of how you know. Creating the poker channel came about My my five ten game had died. That i was playing in san diego on a consistent basis. That game was no more. So i was in a precarious spot. Where how am. I going to continue to make this good money with smaller games and i thought it would be a perfect time to start a new project and i remember those first couple of episodes that i started. I didn't think anybody's gonna watch him. I was just. I was just trying to get better at public speaking. And you know perhaps china Develop some other avenues of interest at a time. When i was unsure where the cash games could take me As far as the ceiling was and it it took off after the seventh episode. When i lost sixty five hundred dollars in a in five ten in in one session. I picked up the camera and put it in my face and i was like this sucks because like this game doesn't run twenty four hours anymore. I got like eight hours a day. That i can play this game. It might take me a while to win back. Sixty five hundred kind of share that on my youtube channel and algorithm picked it up. And they're like wow. This is a real poker player. That's making youtube videos. So i think that the looting to what you talked about before. I wasn't scared to talk talk about my thought process. I wasn't scared to say how i played hands. I was competent and my poker game. I think one thing that a lot of people have have happened as their newer poker players that are making you content so they're kind of more Afraid to just say what happened right and like you know because people are gonna show up in the comments and be like oh you played that like an idiot or what. Are you doing three batting without hand but for me. My confidence in my overall poker game. That part didn't bother me like if you were gonna talk crap about my game in the comments. I was fine with that. You know and i think that. That's what destroys a lot of people in the early stages shirt will have that confidence in know the when you sign yourself up for youtube comments the youtube comments they're gonna come come
How This Investment Could Change Your Kid's Future with Christy Wright
"The other day. My friend told me the story. And i was like what's so. He said that his mentor years and years ago said to him. Hey are you investing for your kids future and my friend at the time didn't have kids and he was like no i don't have kids in. His mentor. was like listen the earlier. You start saving for your kids and their future. The better off. they're going to be. You're going to be because he knew little something compound interest so he kept asking my friend over and over for like two or three years. Hey have you opened up an account for your kids. Hey have you account for your kids like no no. No no no and finally has been towards that okay. Listen i'll match whatever money you put in. I will match you. Because i want you to start investing for your kids future. So whether you've been in two thousand dollars i'll match it or put in two hundred. I'll match it but i wanna help you because i want you to be motivated to do this because you are going to be so. So thankful well. He finally took him up on it one day and he said okay. I'm gonna do this so with little. He was doing neck and fast forward. You guys almost two decades each of his kids when they turn eighteen. He hands the accounts over to them. And these accounts you guys had over two hundred thousand dollars in them just because he started so early and was consistent. I mean is that not insane. That is so so crazy and the great thing is they're able to use that money some use it for schools. Some of them used it for their wedding or they use it for down payment on their first home and guys that is the power not just con- insurance but the power of changing your family tree thinking so far ahead because it is crazy which is five hundred dollars. Thousand dollars can do over the course of eighteen
Low Rolling at High-Limit Craps
"Are some of your suggestions for a low limit player at a high limit. Craps table okay. Here's the first thing i'm going to say. I'm going to preface all my suggestions by saying this okay. The very first thing you need to do is set some restrictions on yourself so this may not work for everybody because you have to know your own self and you may not be able to live with restrictions. Okay but you do have to have some restrictions. If you're gonna do this number one restriction is you have to set a time when you're gonna give up or leave okay. Let's say you say. Well if i double my money i'm leaving okay so it might not by lose all my buy-in i'm leaving right or if i lose half my by in i'm leaving you just have to have some well defined definition of when you're gonna leave because if you say i'm just going to stay here for eight hours. Well playing with a limited bankroll at a higher limitation. It's eventually going to eat you up right. So you're not thinking in terms of time necessarily but in event once you fit this event in an event then you walk. Your time is limited. Play thirty minutes. And i'll be happy with that and leave okay. Maybe you can do that if it's a short time maybe okay but you can't say i'm going to say here all day and play this table. It's not going to happen crafts. Okay right eventually. You'll lose eventually gonna hit a bad streak and you're going to be out because as we know. Craps is a game of ups and downs. And honestly you're really sitting there hoping for the big role the big role and a lot of times. There's only one big role in session or a day or a day. Or maybe none allen but you're hoping for that big role so you're wanting enough of a bankroll that you can wait it out right so you can wade through the bad role. This is a very general statement about crabs. That would apply to anybody exactly anybody nope no matter what. But if you're on a limited bankroll it's even more important because you have this limited bankrupt. The second thing i want to say is that you probably should define amount of money that you think you can live with. Now if you're playing on a twenty five dollar table and you think well. I'm a low roller into buying with one hundred bucks. Well there's no way to play on that table with one hundred bucks okay or something. Just you put fifty bucks out there. You make to bats at seven out in your money half gone and you know you could be gone really really quit right so i think that really played twenty five dollar table. You're going to need between three and five hundred dollar
How to Price Your Product Service or Offer for Profit
"So let's talk about pricing. This is one of the areas that so many entrepreneurs struggle with i know i myself did the first story i want to share with. You is when. I came to southern california and i decided i wanted to be a personal trainer. What i did was ask around to figure out what everyone else was charging. An i determined what my price would be based on going lower than everybody else not the best pricing strategy and. I'll just tell you. Transparently that. The reason why i did that is because i didn't value what it was. I had to offer a classic case of imposter syndrome now. I was a very confident individual. I was even confident in my own knowledge and ability. But when i thought of other people who did the same thing that i was doing i thought about how much more experienced they were. I thought about how much more well known they were. And that made me feel like. I didn't belong there and that i didn't deserve to charge the same rate that some of my competitors charging so i charged forty dollars an hour when i knew there are other trainers charging a minimum of sixty five dollars an hour. Today i pay my own personal trainer. One hundred eighty five dollars an hour and there are still trainers out. There charging forty dollars an hour and here. We are twenty years later. I would bet that there are trainers out there. Maybe even trainers listening to this episode right now who are charging forty fifty sixty dollars an hour and they're far more knowledgeable and perhaps even more experienced than the trainers who were charging hundred seventy five two hundred dollars five hundred dollars an hour and if that higher priced trainer has a full schedule they also are enjoying a lot more freedom
The Hero from Season One
"It's time for another installment of si-hun it's still alive and this time we're going back to season one episode twenty-six the hero and it premiered on july fifth nineteen fifty eight sixty three years ago on my third birthday. The hero opens up with mike underwater. Telling us these working with. Dr george snider on a project to turn ocean plants into food. Apparently they need funding for their research. And that's where a millionaire elliot conway and his wife. Gloria come in you see. Elliot is a big game hunter and he wants to take his hunting underwater and he wants to hunt for sharks and giant squid only problem. He doesn't know how to dive. He needs mike to teach him and gloria so he can bag. What's down there. Mike price five thousand dollars now since it's going to research glorious says it's a worthy cause and a tax write off elliot agrees to pay like twenty five hundred dollars upfront and the remaining twenty five hundred when he gets his first shark. So now they're off to a place known for sharks portable ongko and they go in elliott's private plane and that plane. Looks like a dc. Three named misguided gal now. Puerto blanco is on the west coast of south america. A small fishing village with a new hotel. Not much more. Just as they're getting off the plane guy comes running up and he introduces himself as dr gomez. Any needs to use of elliott's plane to get a sick child to a hospital over three hours away. Elliot agrees so now. They're all set to start their scuba training. And mike tells. Gloria things will be okay if elliott follows all precautions glorious says he never does mikes response he better now before they start training mike scouts out the deep area offshore for sharks. We see a variety of sharks white tips black tips and even some clown fish interesting. Now we start to see what scuba training was like in nineteen fifty eight. Mike takes the couple through snorkeling skills and then talks about how the equipment is delicate and technical. He tells them there is only one way and that is safely theory in practice. That's what it takes. But elliott is getting impatient in the next scene we see mike demonstrating what happens when a balloon is inflated at depth and brought up boom. Goes the balloon back on the boat. Mike tells them it's called an air. Embolism and you must always excel. Exhale as you extend. Gloria asks mike. How fast and he tells her no faster than your bubbles. Elliott wants to know. When do we stop learning and go hunting. He wants his shark. Glorious says she's tired and wants to sit out the next dive. Elliot tries to coax her into diving. But mike says it's dangerous to dive if you're tired so now we switch back to the hotel and we can clearly see the tension between elliott gloria. Gloria tells mike that that elliott is a mixed up millionaire. He's an architect. Who inherited the conway oil company when his father was killed in an auto accident. Elliott doesn't want to really be an architect anymore. Just a big game hunter. Now elliott comes into the scene and he's carrying a spear gun that he's all proud of its cocked and loaded. Mike is furious and he and elliot start to argue. And in the argument elliot drops the spear gun. It goes off narrowly missing gloria and lodging in palm tree. Now we switch back underwater. Mike says elliott has be elliott has become pretty good. Shot with the spear gun. And they're shooting at this target. That set up kind of lake for archery. But mike says he just needs to stop pointing a gun at mike. Now we switch back to land where mike. Gloria elliott are working on camera to document the shark on elliott. Says he wants to order. Chicken cacciatore for dinner might tell them. Oh no that's too spicy before diving. Says okay good now. Probably order to and elliot goes off. It's just mike gloria now. Gloria tells mike she's unhappy made a big mistake in marrying elliot. Mike tries to console her and she tells mike he's sweet and she puts her head on his chest. Elliot sees this and is upset. What's going to happen when they go on the shark hunt the next morning. They are at the dive site. Mike cuisine i finds a shark and is ready to take them down for the hunt. Just as soon as you can get the bait ready now. The three of them are down below at seventy five feet. Gloria has the camera as mike elliott head off to the hunt just end we switched to the surface in a boat is approaching. Its dr gomez. He needs elliott's playing again. As you get close to the dive boat. He throws his anchor over the side and it crashes down into gloria breaking her rag might just happens to look back and sees the glory is in trouble and they both rush back elliott steps in and starts buddy breathing with gloria the sharks. Fresh off debate sense trouble. As the big one continues to circle. Mike is impressed. With elliott's calmness and sends them to the surface while mike fights a rearguard action again and he spears the big shark. We then see all the divers back on board and dr gomez says we must go sure back at the hotel. Elliott s mike. Why don't they haven't hospital here. In puerto blanco might tells him. It's always money. Justin dr gomez emerges and skulls mike for letting gloria dive in her condition. She's expecting a child in six months. And dr gomez congratulates elliott by saying congratulations senor. Now you need to take her back to the states to the hospital. That does elliott is going to build a hospital in portable. Ongko and keith tells mike it'll be done in six months. Mike says that can't be done elliott. Replies you don't know me when i go to work elliott conway the hero. You'd recognize him. That's larry hagman. J are jr ewing from dallas or tony nelson from my dream of jeannie Mike nelson tony nelson coincidence. Who knows

"five hundred dollar" Discussed on Post Reports
"Authorization from fda and the judge basically said at that didn't hold much water either overall. The this was a precedent setting decision. There have been other lawsuits brought around the country around the possibility of mandatory vaccines but in some of those cases. The judges have sidestepped rulings. In this case it was pretty clear. This judge was making the point that the hospital was well within its rights to set his policy and if the workers didn't like it they go somewhere else so once this ruling happened. How many of the workers said well okay. If this judge has decided that we have to get back stated we just have to get vaccinated and how many said. I will not work at this place. If this is going to be the requirement so the judge's ruling landed in this weird limbo land where about one hundred eighty employees had been suspended. They hadn't gotten vaccinated by the dublin. They had two weeks to go through and get vaccinated eventually twenty five of them so did but in other hundred and fifty hundred fifty three to be exact did not get vaccinated and they quit. Some of them have already found jobs. Some of them were fired by the hospital for failing to get vaccinated jennifer bridges the nurse who led his lawsuit. She told me when we talked earlier. This week that she'd been recruited by nurse staffing firm that had seen her speaking out said that the firm supported her and some of her colleagues may now come join her still working in healthcare but for a firm that doesn't believe in mandating vaccines when i spoke with jennifer bridges on tuesday. She told me that she had to excuse yourself from the interview for a moment to take a call. It turned out that call was with alex jones. The founder of infowars a right wing website that also has amplified conspiracy theories our next guest as other amazing lady taking action. Jennifer bridges here is the texas monthly headline. She's leading the fight against mandatory vaccines texas. She also happens to be a nurse. Alex jones had jennifer bridges on his program last week. They talked about why the protest was so important. And why they were both so against mandatory coronavirus vaccines. So get into what's happening. What spurred you to do this and also your other discoveries definitely on basically long story short. They tried to bribe us with a five hundred dollar. Bribe to take this vaccine then pretty quickly. After that they made it mandated that if we didn't take it by the seventh of june we would be suspended for two weeks unpaid in then we would be terminated so we fought that part but we didn't win so we will be terminated in about a week but that's completely okay none of us on this lawsuit in a great deal others do not want to take this experimental shot right now. This thing is dangerous. So i would imagine that even though workers have been dismissed from houston methodist. This is going to continue to be an issue that them and some other organizations just given the sheer visceral over whether vaccines should be compelled for coronavirus. So what is the hospital saying now about the repercussions of this decision. And i would be curious to hear their articulation of why this is so important to get everyone in their hospital system to be vaccinated. Yeah that was a question on my mind to especially as someone who's covered healthcare for years. But when i spoke to the ceo mark boom back in may he said look. We are overly concerned with protecting patients. We will do whatever it takes to guard against rescue in the workplace. I believe we have a sacred obligation and duty to care for our patients and protect them from harm and covid vaccine is a perfect example of how we can do that. If workers don't wanna come along then this is not the place for them if they do wanna come along the this is a way to set an example for the rest of the healthcare industry. Everybody has been weighing this question. I mean in healthcare. The vast vast majority all saying they fully intend to be mandatory. It's really for. I think just about everybody question of when not if and i would predict it you know in the future. It'll be virtually universal across hospital health systems home health agencies at nursing homes. This in offices are large physician groups etcetera. Because it's the right thing to do. It's what protects vulnerable people. And frankly it's what we hear consistently from the people. We serve true that some other healthcare organizations university of pennsylvania has him said we want to be like houston methodist. Many hospitals in dc maryland have said they're going to impose vaccine mandates but that took weeks and weeks of i watching what was playing out in houston other organizations. Were not running to follow suit until they saw a little bit more. What had unfolded. Then he no. I'm curious if you have had this experience because i feel like With us on the podcast and we've struggled to figure out the right way to talk about people who don't want to get vaccinated because we don't want to give air to false claims about the risks or the safety of the coronavirus vaccines at the same time. You know wanting to acknowledge the way that a lot of people feel which is not entirely convinced so. I wonder how you are navigating that.

They extended stay hotel room. I was living in and not aside instead of going going back to room. I just bought a van. So i bought. The van is not a living there that year and the same thing is happening now so as life changing as that was at the time that sum of money for me My bankroll is like you know bigger than that. Now and so the mentality is still the same is like oh you. Have you know a role that allows you to fire bullets in a five hundred dollar tournament. Worcester next move. Get a hotel room for eleven dollars as continuously free is on the weekend and By an air fryer so you can cook a five pound bag of potatoes and just live off of that the whole the whole time. That's why i've been doing. So i come in his room sunday. I have a five pound bag of potatoes from walmart. Cosby like two fifty and cook those potatoes. And i don't leave this room from sunday to friday and potatoes all week that that's what i do so this is funny man rich i get the poor the poor i live so i can only imagine if i'm lucky enough to have this store keep going i can only imagine i'm going to be eating out of trash go by the time by the time a millionaire. Oh man this is such a dream. And i bless man i'm looking. I'm looking out of the window over the they is skyline from. Like you know thirty fifth floor the masquerade tower. "And i'll tell you them again on the way out of that video. This is what people are policy. Ladies and gentlemen. Merrick garland what he says is the attorney. General is policy. That's policy now. Well did he write it down and build it into the fbi handbook. He doesn't have to. He see attorney general. He gets to dictate the allocation of manpower and money as to where we are going to prioritize enforcement intelligence opportunities within the fbi. And he's telling you all right there that he is going to allocate those resources towards a white supremacist terror threat. That he says needs primacy is number one. But what does that mean. Ladies and gentlemen the fbi is barely as big as the nypd personnel wise. The nypd might be bigger the numbers fluctuate. Think about that. The new york city police department has roughly as many personnel as the fbi that covers the entire country. They only cover new york city by sliver of the land mass of the entire united states. This is zero sum. When merrick garland goes out there and says we are going to allocate money and people towards a threat. I just told you as the top threat even though we all know it isn't it's a threat. It's not the top threat even though we all know it isn't and you have say twenty thousand f. b. i. agents. I don't know how many there are now twenty twenty-five actual agents maybe a little more and you say we're going to donate dedicate. Excuse me one tenth. One twentieth of the workforce stretch and not to al qaeda. Then those are people not investigating al qaeda very real. You know some commentators. I'm gonna lead to knock other people. They all have their area of expertise. But i've been there. I've done this. This is not just. Oh it's just merrick arlen posturing for by no no. These are actual agents not getting paid to investigate isis and al qaeda and getting paid to basically investigate a threat. We're having a hard time finding threats to investigate. This is real. When i was a young age. I'll never forget this issue on my neck. You when you come out of secret service training they stick you on treasury trae check cases phosa the dumbest cases ever dumbest than that. We should be doing so much more. We protect the president. They should've left that to the irs. Or someone else but for some reason the secret service at the time didn't wanna give it up. I love the service but it was just stupid. They call them. Teach investigations. what would happen you know. Whatever jogi gets a tax their tax return check back treasury sends them a thousand dollar refund right. They've overpaid in their taxes. You'd get it every now. They usually do it electrically but back then all of it was done via treasury. Check folks criminals new right right around the window of time. The treasury would mail out refund checks. It's like a certain window a time when people do their taxes go mailbox diving steal the checks sinan cash we would waste more time on these dopey investigations for a five hundred dollar treasury. Check leave that to the irs are others or the treasury department ortega or whatever it was. Why would we do that. And the answer is because someone in the director's office at the time..

"He had the books on the shelves and they were his special books and his mom. Who kinda she kinda sneaks into his room and takes them and reads them and the only reason she breeds them is to be little him and be little his favorite book. And so there's this there's a scene where he's like he walks in and the books are sitting on the table and he is just like he feels like part of himself has been invaded by his mother who is constantly haranguing him for not being who she wants him to be. And there's this really. There's this conversation but you can kind of see the hurt in his is that she is literally just saying that. No this this character in the series of books reading is stupid and it's not until the third book the book that you hate that. He's even showing a modem of that the writers showing a modem of talent and that's upsetting and that was a moment where it's like. i. I can't imagine my parents coming in and just reading books for the sole purpose of just demeaning my my interest in there are these moments that can kind of sneaks in where it's like a little jab of like. Yeah this isn't just you know an unfair a faceless evil character this is a human being and yes he is a horrible person and does horrible things but there are moments where a tragedy with them just like with what he did with brady. It's also a little easy to forget. How old morris's because he so threatening you kind of think of him as this younger character and we know that's not true because they basically tell you you know. This dude is sixty. but he doesn't really move or act like someone who is sixty you know. Usually people are kind of like mellowing out around that point in time and you really get this feeling that he just has this rage inside him that he can't contain and it's amplified as soon as he sees the notebooks even and you know there are a few things i want to mention about. Peter's family still. But morris is probably the most interesting character aside from peter in this. I completely agree. I think i think king has has outdone himself with creating a character that is equally terrifying and also sad in what i think is interesting is the way how much we spend in his in his head about how he sees society. And it's it's like i kind of brought the. I mentioned this a little bit earlier about superiority complex. But there is a part in the book where he's talking about how he can make kids laugh even though they don't like him and he's like but that's okay because they're dead enders and it starts this like this paragraph of him saying you know they're dead enders heading for dead end. Marriage is dead end jobs and they'll raise dead end kids and dead grandkids before coming to their own dead ends like he continues on this whole tirade about how everyone else is inferior to him. And he says that morris was meant for better things and so it's this idea that he kind of lords himself over them and we spend so much time in his head that it is it is frightening and he is an interesting. I think he is probably the most interesting character in this book. But i am curious what we wanted to touch on with peter's family so we haven't talked about his parents too terribly much. We mention that you know. Tina was taken by morris. And she's friends with barbara. Who has germs little sister but his parents are so focused on their problems. It's kind of like not that. They don't care about their children because they clearly do. And that's why they're so focused on. You know getting out of this terrible financial situation because the dad is you know on disability and things like that because of what brady did but it isn't until very late in the book when the mom figures out. What's going on. And i really like how you can tell that. This light bulb is going off in her head. And she's like oh no oh and then by. Then it's too late for her to really confront peter about it to do anything about it before morris shows up and you feel bad for her because you're just like oh you finally figured it out and they're just gonna crush that dream of yours to you know work this whole thing out with your family and obviously they do get to do that by the end. And you know peter's doing that photo shoot and things like that and everything's all well and good by the end of it but they have to go through so much collective trauma as a family to get to that point. Where the mom's like. Oh it just hit me. What's been going on. yeah. I remember exactly why thought this but there i think there are little sections of the book. Were almost kind of insinuates. That may be she or or his father kind of knew that may be. The money was coming from from peter. Not really but they didn't want to like address it because you know it's it's a five hundred dollar paycheck. It's coming every month or so and it's it's helping keeping them afloat. So i do think that there's that that sorta pull where they probably know that this isn't just coming out of the goodwill of of some random stranger that it's probably coming something closer to home but if you kind of interrogate that then there's a chance that it will just go away and they need that money so and i did think it was kind of funny the moment that you know she finally is able to address it and she calls him and he's basically saying not now mom. I can't talk about this. It's twenty thousand dollars. Why can't you talk. No no you just got to trust me. There's someone come to the house. Be careful and so. It's the moment that like they're kind of relationship. Switches where she. It's kind of switch through the entire thing where he's kind of been taken care of his parents but at this moment that power dynamic is certainly you know outta whack where it's the moms like completely in the loss as to what's going on in the sun is trying to again save his family from certain death. Yeah you mentioned earlier to how simple the plot is. And i think there are a lot of king books that honestly have really simple plots when you sort of sit in break them down and so many of them involve writers..

"Buffet at wednesday at two pm. No i think. I do think it'd be funny the next time if i do miss like a monday in the offices for like a huge final table i can't be in the barstool office. Play one hundred fifty k. Yeah i would say speaking of wap it just so happens that they announced the full schedule for this fall. So it's not going to be in the summer they're gonna give covert a little more time to die out but after not having. Wap last year besides some random weird online stuff they did. They are having a full eighty eight tournament schedule starting in october with a five hundred dollar tournament with five million dollar guaranteed called the reunion. They by the way. Wctc loves just making up names and slapping them on tournaments and putting the prize pool like astronomically huge and it works so five hundred dollar reunion starting october. First five mil guaranteed ton of starting flights. You can play all then. There's flights on friday. Saturday and sunday and to meet that guaranteed. They need ten k runners. So they're not holding back like it's they're fully prepared to have the ryobi just like zoo like it used to be. It's there are going to be zero protocols. Which i'm fine with like i'm fine with it. Seems like things are great. I definitely want to get out there for that. You can't really beat a five hundred dollar buying with five million dollars. So is google glass in between. That's one thing or masks required at the time. i don't think they're going to acquire either. I don't think most casinos are already saying master optional. And they've taken out the glass between players. That would be my only concern about actually playing. And i talked to mitzi about this before. I'm a big You know throw a one hundred dollar chip in twenty five. That could get misinterpreted. And if i'm not the only one having that issue like i think it will. I think it's going to go on as just regular. They don't put out an eighty eight events schedule with any precautions. I don't think it's like they're all in there. It's all or nothing with them. they're they're going heavy. There's lots of be excited about to because look at the numbers around the country since live poker's come back and stuff right now in houston and florida and even vegas is having summertime stuff. It is pop at man. People are sick of not being able to play everywhere crushing guarantees. And i think this is going to lead to. Even though it's a different dynamics wall the heart of football season the fall. It's not gonna be one hundred and thirty degrees..
Xbox Is Coming to Your TV Without a Console
"There's been a lot of video game news lately but some the caught my years was that microsoft is looking to bring its xbox game pass service directly to television. That's correct the xbox game pass ultimate subscription service which you can of like microsoft's answer to video games as what net is to movies and tv. It costs fourteen ninety nine a month and currently gets you more than one hundred games on. Pc's and android tablets and phones all without an xbox console now microsoft says it wants to make the service available on more screens including working with tv's and the company is working with tv makers to embed an xbox experience to internet connected devices so basically if you have a tv and a good internet connection you can bypass the three hundred to five hundred dollars. You might spend on a console and have all your games stored in the cloud. This would certainly seem a great way to expand the xbox audience brett. I mean not. Everyone wants a console and right now not everybody can get the new console. They want because they just aren't enough out there. By the way cloud gaming could be the future games as google and amazon. Both app services running now and playstation has playstation. Now service that lets you stream games on. Pc's in addition to its game consoles amazon. Let you stream on. Pc's max amazon fire tv and on smartphones and google stadia streams games two. Tv's it uses google chromecast but it also streams games to various tablets and devices so. It's not a giant leap for a tv to have an app or a bit of software bill inside to do this. Yeah absolutely and it's interesting too because they're gonna also introduced a couple other ways you can Play xbox games. Microsoft said it's also building devices to connect just for streaming game so almost feels like a roku or chromecast but just for your xbox and it's also going to have browser gaming so you can play games on google chrome safari microsoft edge in the next few weeks. We're likely get more news from and xbox before e three in the summer game fester over because there's an xbox in but does the showcase coming up so keep listening in the days ahead as we'll break that down for you

Steps to Help You Create Your First Offer
"I wanna talk to you about your introductory offer now. I coined the term baby offer. I dunno like maybe ten years ago. And i think a baby offer is just hopefully a a way to look at the first offer that you make that is less intimidating. Oftentimes you'll hear business mentors and advisers. Tell you like dream bigger. You gotta dream big. You gotta go big. And i think that when we do that sometimes we make mistakes and we go to big and we create something that is more advanced than our lifer is ready for or more expensive than your relationship has the merit to command if that makes sense so in other words if my lifer has just this is the very first podcast you've ever listened to and you're just getting to know me and i tell you i've got this amazing course that teaches. You need to know about business marketing. And it's twenty five hundred dollars. You're not ready for that. We don't have a relationship on that level yet. I need to prove myself to you. You need to invest a much smaller dollar amount. And see that i can deliver and then some and that it works for you and that you trust my way of teaching and that creates a level of trust then allows you to make the next greater investment now. Certainly there are always exceptions to this right. Like if i have some pretty incredible marketing in place and you stumble upon an add your cold viewer or a cold audience. You don't know who i am. You haven't spent any time on my podcast. We haven't spent any time together. And you have a need and we have done an amazing job of targeting those people who already can afford or already at a level where they understand making that type of investment and the return on investment. Yeah that could happen but more often than not businesses about relationships. It's about figuring out if we trust people and how we can work together and we build on that in the way that we build on that is by creating a customer journey.

Initially the thirty ninety was fifteen hundred now has gone up because inflation and tariffs and taxes and all that other stuff but the rtx thirty eighty ti was on sale for twelve hundred dollars which is quite expensive for it. It's a pretty big up. It's like a five hundred dollar increase from the thirty eight eighty in general so there is a bigger price tag for it but it was sold out quite quickly. "You should be able to benefit a little bit more than that. You're adding more value to society than just having someone watch your kids and let's call it even guys you know what i mean. It's it's i feel like a lot of people and like women. They want to get out. They they have to choose between having a career or being being a mom. Because it's almost the same whether your paycheck versus your whole paycheck naked. Just go to daycare. Five hundred dollar difference or something worth it. You're right now honestly. Do you see anywhere in the courses system's flawed but that it can be corrected or is there anything i hope i hope so eventually. But there's been documentaries put out. There's research and people advocate for Scientific research that just says as far as reducing recidivism prison population if we invest in our children and focus on early learning. Then you're probably not going to raise criminals right so there's research is there and it's just a matter of very plain to it's very easy for people to understand even in catching them. Yeah i mean just just invest in the future of your society. A very common a lot of a lot of the newer billionaires you know in in america really do understand that and everything is tied to a system that government that banking and all those systems and there's rules and regulations and that's all that they play all the rules all the societal issues take forever to change because there's not a financial benefit to that person to do it in that person's doing what they're doing for a financial benefit in my opinion. You know more than you know. I'm really here for the people. And every year education elementary education. They get de funded. They're out there trying to raise money out front for some. I swing set out backers from stupid stuff you know and trying to get their all these fundraising things and everything. They're spending so much time doing that. Thing to try to raise money to keep their school going that it's taken all this time away from those kids actually learning you know. So what's the answer. I mean funding funny needs things in funding the education of our youth. And it's going to happen through the internet we have we have you know internet's going to be available to every human and when that happens you have these things like the khan academy khan academy and there's a lot of learning tools that are going to the platforms are going to teach. Our kids are the future. We're going to go to school the same way in the future. Watch but that's that's hard socially if somebody it is i mean it really really riley like with e-learning like it problem. It's terrible it was problem. Terrible for the teacher..

Why there's this this. Attraction of populism rejection of globalization a turned inward rather than outward looking for solutions in the past rather than the future.
