"Another twenty five and so i was kinda doing fifty and ten fifty and ten as opposed to twenty five and five and at many learning throughout the week but one of them was that annoying learning of like. I really should use pomodoro more often that so active like so annoyingly effective years ago. I use it really consistently. And i've used it sporadically a little more recently and i did it consistently for full week and i was like. Oh yeah that's right. This is super helpful super beneficial. So that's what the pomodoro technique is. I have an app. That i use alongside my pomodoro ing called freedom. I don't know if they have it for mobile but mine is the desktop and you set a freedom session so it's twenty five minute. Freedom session added feature here. Is it blocks certain things on your computer so like you try to during the session. Go somewhere else on your computer. And it's like so sorry that features not available for the next seventeen minutes. Wow that is a good good resource. We'll put that in the box of goodies. Freedom definitely so. I didn't do that. But one thing i did do. Is i turn my wifi off smart. Which which was so effective because every now and then like open up. Google crime and nothing would happen. I was like oh yeah. That's right back to the whiteboard. Back to the google doc and so it's funny. This idea of a think week. I think while it was unfortunate that holiday go cancelled it was almost like the universe was setting me a message so it was like so weird that all this just culminated in his five day week that i got to sit down and noodle and brainstorming and yeah it was quite profound so you said that you were thinking of this week as being five days that set you up for twelve months. So you know me. Pete and listeners. You know me too. Like i love to be twelve months ahead. Give me two years. Give me three years ahead. And i'll work backwards from there. I must hear about how you turned five days into twelve months knowing that that is something in the past that you have been resistant. Is that the right word resistant to resistant or incapable. Maybe so i would say it remains to be seen if it was effective. And the reason i say that is because it was more of a mental model for me to get out of the weeds and less on this particular day. I'm going to ship this thing. Which i know is something you do really well and we joked about me being incapable of doing so. I didn't necessarily say on the twentieth of july. Twenty twenty two. This is going to be ready. I didn't necessarily do that instead. I used it as a mental model to be like. Don't worry about that thing that just is gonna come in and you have to do by the end of the week instead think about. Where can you invest your time. In a way that will set the rest of the year up for success. One of the things we ended up doing you..

"It's been for the two of us. And i you know. And i quoted jim from walking dead season one. That sound you hearing your that sound. You're hearing vets. God laughing at you while you're making other plans which i think john lennon actually like popularized saying but jim said it in season one of walking dad john lennon. Wow i would not have guessed that. I'm pretty sure he's the one who said it. Yeah harassing alright. So we are podcasting ashra in part two or akron. We're not really sure martin probably right. It's probably akron. Asher on though i do too actually and you know i wish i remembered now why i haven't stuck in my head as ashrawi told you about that series of romance novels that i really enjoyed. They always referred to the character as ash So because it would weird to refer to hear ms that's funny and then we have the hunted which i still have to watch. Have you watched that yet. And i've been a good girl. And i have not watched. Oh okay so we are wickedly behind. I plan on watching. Tonight's that i can avoid doing anymore plumbing. I might watch it tonight. "Hmm. We're back. We're talking money in retirement savings investing today. I had to go on an appointment, and I was listening to A podcast, and I mean I make podcasts. I listen to podcast. It's all good and and they were saying it was about exercise and diet stuff. And it says, you know, we have these best laid out plans were going to change it. We're going to change it all for good. And instead, we need to make small little steps in that direction. Because consistency is what wins and I was thinking the same thing goes with our money. So I have to consistently say yes, I can walk, 30 minutes a day or I can work out 30 minutes a day, But I can't do it two hours a day five. Days week. I don't have 10 hours for that. And if I get frustrated because I don't have those 10 hours that I'm going to say Oh, to heck with it. I'm not going to do it at all. Same thing with the savings and investing. See how I tie that together. You have to do what you can when you can. Because if you think you're going to drop £200 all at once, by working out two hours a day, no sodas, no junk food, No candy, no fast food. You're probably going to fail, and then you're not going to be anywhere. You're just going to be in the same spot. I want you to think about your money the same way Some people procrastinate. They think they're going to make up for lost time later in life, Because that way, I mean, you can see where it could change. I have little kids right now. I'm busy. We've got T ball. We've got travel, football, travel, volleyball tournaments. Whatever. We're buying new cars for the kids, then it's college. And if you haven't looked up all of a sudden you're going to be retiring with not enough money. The the fact that Typical workers who starts setting money aside at 35 are going to need to save almost 12% of their salary to catch up with a 25 year old saving 6% of the salary workers starting at 40 are going to have to save 17% of their salary to end with the same balance at age 65. So the goal is start earlier with less and keep doing it longer, a little bit of money over a long period of time and you're going to win. I can't possibly think that at 55. I'm going to start saving for retirement. That's not going to work. Well, it's going to work if I think I have another 2030 years. But what if I get sick and I can't? Um, I'm going to be out of luck, right? Stop making excuses. Let's revisit the reasons why people don't start saving sooner. The most common one of stress, which frankly doesn't hold water, we all experience stress in life financial stress. Is just part of it is part of all stresses at all ages. I can talk to my kids at 20, and they're just as stressed out about life of.

"So it's kinda that feast famine cycle. That is super important. So let's let's look at this again strong fast again. We talked about that sixteen to eighteen hour fast. So you know like an eating window between twelve pm and six. Pm for example and then fasting between six pm to twelve pm the following day all right so strong fastest great. That's a really great. If you're able to do a sixteen to eighteen thousand daily basis you're very metabolic fit. That is very very healthy. Great strategy be doing on a regular basis. During the time you're going to get you're gonna get into what we call. Mild katose key tones are gonna get up usually around zero point five or so if you extend that fast out a little bit longer. Eighteen twenty twenty four hours right. You're gonna get a little bit more key tone production. So when i personally like to do is i will do. What's called a five to fasting. Where i do five days week wrongdoing strong fast and then two days a week where. I'm doing one meal a day so usually on wednesdays and on i just do one meal and then on the other days i'm doing two meals in roughly a six to eight hour eating window now the days. I do my one meal a day. I don't work out. I don't exercise intensely i move. I walk or something like that. I don't lift weights on those days in the days. I lift weights. Id two meals. That's kinda works best for me. As far as a strategy to keep my muscle mass and and to keep my body weight it helped me thrive. I the reason why. I liked to do the one meal. A day is because my brain feels amazing that get the key tones elevated i get more atop g in the brain reduces inflammation. I feel great now a three day fast or in what we call an extended fast three day fast. Maybe a five day or in some cases more is a phenomenal. Wait allow your body fully rask repair and renew after roughly twenty. Four hours fasting. Your body.

And they believe it's been a massive success that they've actually had higher productivity it companies in iceland by doing the four day week instead of the five day week and i hope that as employers have seen that flexibility still gets the job done and retaining workers is becoming harder and harder thing. They giving people more flexibility in their lives and four ten hour days. Let's stay instead of five eight hour days. It's the same number of hours at work but when you think about that thing. That was all corporate speak Five years ago or whatever work life balance and companies would say. But they didn't mean it but when you have somebody who's got three days threefold as they can do whatever i think about the people who work in jobs where they work Three longer days on and then they have three days off places that are seven day places. How much they love the three and three in this case. We're talking about four on three off. I mean it's something that. I hope that the bosses at various places will see the wisdom of in even for themselves. Having more time with family with friends. It will be a fuller life a better career doing that. And i think people are better workers when they have more downtime. Like that

"Always wanted a pison for a homeschool. Benny time she thought it. Prudent home schooled. By by far the michael said that if you home homeschool you would get more custody of as in he would have been more time over there because the whole reason we were having whole like five day weeks with hers because of school. The costco bovine homeschool. They don't have to have only two days with him so when he passed away was february eighth when he passed away from ultimately heart attack. Those that didn't hesitate at all at the end of the school year. She bought us out into homeschool that. I don't think she probably either 'cause next year. The school called her saying that they thought we were skipping school. Because we won't show up to class so this was the first time that the school found out that we're actually going into your home school. And after that yes she had all of us in homeschool just. The term homeschool indicates that she was teaching you at home. But yeah how the work did. Was there any education going on at all. Yeah i guess the only education got there is how to massage back with something. Because that's what we did have the time. Yeah no there is no education going on whatsoever so the older three kids. I'm a clue myself. We were the only ones into any public school at any point of our lives. All of and jamie the younger five kids they never to public school. She never had any go to kindergarten. Preschool they just went immediately into quote unquote home. School and there was no education on their whatsoever. It was mostly would sit down or do whatever she wants to. They were these textbooks that she did have though. But it wasn't teaching us was unlikely. Had some online klasnic like that. It was mostly us teach ourselves so then she would test is on these tests and if he gets something below sixty percent she would beat us until we got about sixty percent or seventy percent and that. You just can't by brute force you know like i got a fifty nine percent so this homage gonna answer this definitely. It's not like you're studying. You're being hit on the back of the head back with something with the pan. So you know there wasn't really any studying going on onto and a shows today some of my younger brothers and we got put into foster care and back into public school and showed you know. Some of them had none of the basic knowledge of kindergarten. To fifth graders of vevey important time to go to school you know and so they had a lot of catching up to do. Extreme catching up. Yeah all of us. I wanna have you talk about or tell about some of the examples of abuse because they're just just in what i've already heard what you've written. It's just a horrific what she did to all of the kids. Yeah there's one with the sewing machine and because she liked to so even though she didn't do it often she'd like to teach yourself so we had a sewing machine in the house..

"Educators went that crispness? Yes. I said, We're not paying them nearly enough. Yeah. Okay. All right. There's your vice president. All right? I think the giggle queen fits perfectly and people are emailing. Um, you know, that guy said this that listen, I have very thick skin. I've been doing this a long, long time. You have to stay up nights. If you really want to try to get to me. Um I'll give you an example. Here's a Who's this from they never put their names. You know, like good Democrats just got this in. You are a loud mouth Know it all bigot. You constantly berate Joe Biden. Yet Trump was the worst. Can't Repeat that of them all. Just wait until you have that next major heart episode. Maybe it will eliminate your racist asked from the planet We got rid of one big mouth. Racist bigot in 2021, Rush Limbaugh. I hope you'll be the second. Okay, that that's pretty much the tone and tenor of a guy that emails, illusion, 23 or something like that. But, um, I'm sorry. It just doesn't faze me. Maybe 20 years ago, it would have, but it doesn't. Now let's go to your calls. Let's go to David in Santa Anna. David, how are you? I'm good Red man. What? You know there's a lot of folks out here love you and you've got a great show. We just appreciate you so much. And don't pay too much attention to those delusional emails out there. Thank you, David. I appreciate it. What's up? Well, I just got to thank in. I think I've figured out why the gaggle queen giggles so much. Um, when you consider that she came in dead last or near dead last and Democratic primaries. Now in another year or two. She's probably going to be president of the United States. A just the absurdity of it. You know, I don't you know, she It's enough to make anybody giggle, and I think it just occurs to how absurd it all is. And there she is giggling so their way that's just my take on. You know, I think, David, I think you're right. I think she's giggling so much, but because she just can't believe what good luck. She fell into your right. She couldn't even win Democratic primary in her own state, and now she's she see, I'm giggling out, and she's the vice president of the United States and probably in a year If the Democrats get their way she will be President. David. Good call. I appreciate it very much. David Fort Worth, Dave, How you doing? Quite well, sir. Great show and in reference to the last caller about the nickname that you've given her, which I love. Uh, my daughter is in that age bracket that he's worried about, and she she started talking about the hair sniffer. That's the name and I said, Well, we talked about hair sniffer, and she said, I'm talking about Biden. I said, What do you I went on, and I looked online. And sure enough, the weirdo creeps up behind people and spent mostly women smells. Their hair smells, kids hair. It's just bizarre, but, um, so anyway, I love the nickname but anyway, I I wanted to kind of ask a serious question, because I I really don't know the answer. I'm not not tongue in cheek. Um, I've had loved ones in my family, uh, friends and grandparents that they begin to get older. And I don't wish any ill will against Biden himself. I hope I hope his health is good because dementia and Alzheimer's is a horrible disease, and it's not. It doesn't pick whether Republican or Democrat but he tends to genuinely and from his neutral standpoint is are going to be, he kind of loses. Track and any kind of kind of bumbles around and I think really does lose track of what his message is, If there is one, but also to your point in his speech is the if you if you listen to him back in the eighties and nineties course he was younger guy, but he was he was enthusiastic. He was energized. He had flushing it in his voice, but He doesn't even seem to have enough physical energy anymore to really articulate or finish words and it and it just kind of fades into a whisper, and he'll leave a couple syllable. Awful words. So my question is. What do we all joking aside? What do we factually really know about his mental and physical health? Because if I just flew here in a flying saucer, listen to that speech. I'm thinking that guy is, uh Is sick. I'm worried. Yeah, we We talked about that here, uh, off the air. During the breaks, You know, he looked like perhaps he was medicated on some type of medication or And I'm like you as much as I don't respect What he's done is a politician or the giggle queen for that matter. I wish no ill health on anyone. I've seen too much of it myself and my family and people that have passed and so on. And I don't and you're right. Alzheimer's and things like that. That's a that's a living nightmare. And you wouldn't worse but wish that on your worst enemy, But as far as what we know about his health Don't know anything. I don't know. You know, I'm not sure. Um people throw things around that they pull off the Internet, and that's pretty dangerous because that's so you know, that's how fake news get started. And If it's out there enough and repeated enough people start to believe it. I don't know of any health problems that, uh, that Walter has. I hope we didn't have any. You know, we're all going to get older and with age you, you know you miss a step or two. Um, I hope that it's just a natural progression. And that you know, something isn't medically wrong. I'm with you on that, Dave. But I don't have in the information. You know, I wondered aloud the same thing about Nancy Pelosi. Um, sort of the female version of Walter. She kind of gets lost dinner in her words and repeats herself and then it Great communicators. They are not probably weren't ever but things like I saw yesterday with that speech. It was I was almost embarrassed for him. Not, uh, not in an ugly way. But in a way like you know, he really is not up to doing this today. Maybe in a day or two, but not today. That's what I thought. Dave. Yeah, and I can only assume with with what went on with the election. I'm sure that the administration would have no problem and in and let's face it not releasing a. You know, an honest physical or assessment from a doctor. Um, I I remember as a kid, you know that the physical and the full report to come out and presidents in good health. He's got high blood pressure, but he's going to I was going to walk or jog or whatever. And I just haven't heard. Maybe I missed it, But I haven't heard anything about I don't think you've missed it. Um, you know, because we talked amongst ourselves here and You've got people that immerse themselves in the news every day, Five days week. Some some of us are here six days, but I've not heard. Well, you remember when Hillary Clinton not to To get off Walter for a second. But Hillary Clinton, Um you know, she had a couple episodes where she stumbled or fell, or, uh, yeah, over there, all of them. Yeah. And they were. I mean, there there was when they think it was in. I can't remember what city but that the group kind of grabbed her and pulled her into the van. They didn't She didn't stumble. They dragged her into the van. You can see your foot. Scraping into the ground again. No, no Ill will. But there's something something's definitely going on there. Yeah, absolutely, Dave. Good call. I appreciate it and good for your daughter, by the way, because that was a big thing during the campaign, Dave. Thank you so much 1 800 to 88 w b a p 1 800 to 889227 going to get right to your calls next. President.

Now we just jameis winston he gets on by the saints. Full-term make him the starter. No question about it so we don't gotta hear this time hill stuff. No knock on tyson hill. Pay some hill tasting tasting. Tyson doesn't matter. No knock on him. But i just don't want him on the ball to throwing the ball man no again no shade. But i wanna see jameson. Get his opportunity to rebound another guy. That whenever i talk about them there's like hey there's hate from all corners you know demons. Winston left the bucks and tom brady brownsville. Superbowl wanted the first year. Well how can you say he's good. Wrote you understand your tom. Brady greatest quarterback of all time to to james winston who was still young who still developing. Who still growing no one's saying he's tom brady. But for fantasy purposes dynasty purposes and just even for a team i mean. i'll the quarterback. I think he can get things corrected. Is he perfect. Oh is he the best. What are the best. No but he has potential man he really does. He's better than some hill. He's better than that option. So let's get. Let's get that made their deal and make that official also seeing them just random headline here by seeing the titans finally Traded the offensive linemen. Isaiah wilson their first round pick Twenty twenty first round. Pick these kind of things you see this as a fan of a team you know. Just put yourself in their shoes for a second. I know i know they're the enemy if you're not a titans fan but the fact that your team has to trade a first round pick before the next season starts i s terrible man. It's as bad as the raiders. Have not limbaugh because they understood. What the hell. They were doing with him but he was later pick. But this guy didn't even get a chance to play. Because kobe did all that and then he calls all kinds of issues he was tweeting stuff out and delete and stuff. Titans saying get out of your man. They literally they treat him for nothing. They traded a him seventh round. Pick in two thousand twenty two for seventh-round twenty twenty one. I think just terrible it is. That's horrible man. If i was a fan of that team i'd be pissed and that's a good football team. It's a well run football team so to see that happen to them sucks. But i'm glad that they cut that in now. They got rid of that. When you when you see that kind of stuff grow him. Just get rid of it. So if you're a titans fan while you're not happy about the pick you gotta be happy about the urgency that he took the no nonsense approach to just move on from. It didn't work out. He wasn't working out. You move on cut bait and you and you move on i. I respect that quick action. You know when when is justified. When is justified. I believe it's justified in this case. So hey you know. Maybe the dolphins will have something here ability to work there. It don't look great. The dolphins take chances. That is a hell. I talked about limbaugh. They took limbaugh from the raiders to that worked out. Well so you know maybe this one workout. We'll see just a quick guys at mashhad deck press dak prescott cowboys fans up to mad man. Don't be bitter about this the oklahoma longer. Okay who cares. You got your quarterback of the future. Next four years you guys gonna be slaying. The rock arsenal a wide receivers and running backs have fun. Man just get that defense. Ranked compete eagles fans be bitter about carson wentz carson wentz fans. They'll be mad at jalen hurts. He's going to be fine good. He's quarterback you don't want to believe it reasonably good. This team is gonna do whatever they can to make sure that so of jalen hurts doesn't do good the end of the day. It may just be jalen hers fault. Because i really do believe the eagles are gonna do whatever they can to to to You know to to pump some real life into this offense and jalen hurts the first step he really is. I'm excited about what they're gonna do all right guys. That's it for today. I hope you appreciate the video if you like the video. I do ask that you guys. Please his scribe on youtube comment. Get involved in the conversation in the videos. Raina see how we could do these. Great if i'm gonna see if i do the videos every episode or if You know the video ends being patriotic type thing or whatnot because they are a lot of work to do every single episode five days week. Biden Takes To The Road To Push His COVID-19 Relief Plan
"President biden is on the road this week. He wants congress to pass his one point nine trillion dollar covert relief package. And so he's making the case for it directly to american citizens last night. He was in wisconsin for a town hall produced by cnn. and host. anderson. Cooper asked the question. When is every american. Who wants it going to be able to get vaccine by the end of july this year. Npr national political correspondent. Mara liasson is good morning mar. Good morning joe. Biden took a lot of questions about vaccines and also a lot of questions about when schools are going to reopen. How yes school. Openings have become a really controversial issue and a potential vulnerability for the white house. The republicans have been saying that biden is not being aggressive enough on something that too. Many americans is the most important signal of getting back to normal. In addition to the many reasons why it's important for kids and parents to get schools open and one of the reasons that this could be potentially damaging for the white house is that the president's press secretary had set a remarkably low bar of what biden meant by school opening. She said that he wants half of them. Having in person instruction one day per week by the end of his first one hundred days last night biden said that was a mistake in communications. He wants to see k. Through eight classes back five days a week. Here's what he said. We'll be close to that. At the end of the first hundred days you'd have a significant percentage them being able to be opened my rent. My guess is they're going to probably be pushing to open all for all summer to continue like it's different semester days a week or a. I think many of them have five days week. The goal we five days a week. So that's a more ambitious goal. But as biden pointed out is a state and locally controlled thing can set goals put out guidelines. But it's not up to him. Speaking of ambitious he still wants one point nine trillion dollars. There are critics of his plan. There are economists. also who say that's just too much money it seems like biden is saying. Let me make the case to the people who are suffering and explain why we need one point nine trillion. Yes and he did that last night. He pointed out the polls show that many republicans even trump voters are support. The package the package has very very high approval ratings and even though it's not popular with republican members of congress biden also defended the price tag saying. There's a consensus among economists. About spending more rather than less. And you know both biden's treasury secretary janet yellen and the fed chair. Jerome powell have both said that a bigger package is better and if it does spark inflation they can handle that. What's unclear is if the package will get any republican support in congress. Despite those bipartisan talks. You know senate minority leader mitch. Mcconnell told the wall street journal that he thinks the first step to unify republicans and of course. They've been badly split. Deeply divided is to unify around to the relief package. This is what republicans did in two thousand and nine. when they opposed obama's stimulus

Haven't complete technical issues. There's nothing more frustrating. Then getting up from your computer or your system on Friday and going about your business and coming back on Monday after nothing has changed the entire weekend. And all of a sudden stuff will work. And you're like, Wait a minute. No one's even touched this computer the entire weekend and all of a sudden stuff will work. Its like Jinx looks a little guilty back there behind sleeping. Maybe she's touched something. No with our giant wolf, that would have been easy. I mean, if a Saint Bernard touches something, it leaves a trace, Dave. It leaves a trace more on that in a little bit, But if I sound a little irritable, that's what it is. Very frustrated with technical stuff. Because I'm I'm a well turn it on and off. See what happens. Maybe that'll help. I don't know. And then you call I t And they're like, OK, start by turning it on and off And look, Look, I got one move. That's it already. Did that do it again. So there you go. I can hear that echo to grant very, very faintly. And I don't know why. We're going to figure out our technical issues.
