Did Bill Gates Seriously Short TSLA Stock
"Robbed our here and today we're going to be talking about bill gates response to on musk's claims the oregon podcast a couple of weeks. Back that get heard. That bill gates had been shorting stock. We've also got some news on the broader electric vehicle automotive market an interesting response from yvonne on an article from the washington post. And of course. We've gotta talk about tesla stock. It's about wild couple of days. We had the interview yesterday with alex rotter so we didn't get a chance to talk about it. But of course yesterday. Tuesday february twenty. Third tesla dropped to a low of six hundred nineteen dollars per share. That was down more than thirteen percent from the prior. Close then of course. We saw us swift recovery in the market. And from tesla tesla finishing down just two percent yesterday on the biggest volume day that we've seen in over a month and a half with sixty six million shares trading hands yesterday. So i talked about on monday and we briefly talked about yesterday in the interview as well. A lot of this is tied to expectation on interest rates. So yesterday fed chairman. Jerome powell made comments to congress. Indicating the current monetary policy is expected to continue for some time as economic uncertainty remains so not to get too deep into that. We've talked about that. Of course in the past but as far as tussles yesterday certainly was not isolated to tesla. Those sort of concerns were broadly extended to high growth. Stocks tussle obviously falls in that category. And i think the volatility there serves as a nice quarterly reminder that you have to be very very careful with stop losses on a volatile stock like tussle as for today tesla continue to rebound finishing up six point two percent to seven hundred and forty dollars two cents. That compared to the nasdaq up one percent. All right so i up today. I want to continue a conversation that we began a couple of weeks back after yvonne. Musk went on joe. Rogan's podcast for the third time and said that he had heard from people he believes would know that bill gates had shorted tesla. Yvonne brought that up in response to a question from joe rogan on the tesla semi citing that bill gates in a blog. Post a few months back had said that eighteen wheel electric semi is probably would never work so allen's claim here understand. We drawing a lot of attention not the first time something like this has happened between musk and gates last year. He did by his first electric vehicle. The porsche ticon. Which at the time. Maybe it wasn't so clear why he didn't by ordering vehicle up until that point. Well now we might have a better answer for that. But he talked about the decision in an interview with marquez brownlee and it seemed to be a relatively tepid endorsement of electric vehicles gatesville right up ranging anxiety as a problem and elon. Musk responded to that interview. Not necessarily gives purchase of tycoon but those comments in general by saying that quote my conversations with gates have been underwhelming to be honest and so that catches us up to today and then we have launched claiming that he heard gates which tesla now in the last week. We've had both cnbc and bloomberg asked gates directly about that claim. I think gates tone is important these responses so i will play the actual clip. The i wanna hear from andrew. Ross sorkin cnbc asking gates so so you're not sure tesla's stock were clear. Yeah i'm not. I don't talk about my investment. But i think he should be very proud of what he's done. Okay so technically there. He did say yeah. I'm not but it sounded like he was more starting a sentence of saying yeah. I'm not going to talk about my investments not yet. I'm not sure tesla because he interrupts himself and says i don't want to talk about my investments so to me. That's a no comment. Rather than a denial. What's interesting here is his reason saying he doesn't wanna talk about his investments but in the exact same interview. He talks about his investments multiple times. He says quote when i invested in impossible foods or beyond me or quantum scape. I was doing that just to help their own climate. Now it looks like those three will be very successful companies. And so i'll have more money to put into the tough areas a climate like cement and steel and quote. Okay so he says he doesn't want to talk about his investments but then he in response to another question talks about his investments in impossible foods beyond me quantum scape and then how does investments are doing and that i'll have more money to then go on an invest in other stuff. I mean how much more could you talk about your investments. And he uses the first person tense. You're saying i invested. He's asked about bitcoin and he says quote. I don't own bitcoin. I'm not short bitcoin. So i've taken a neutral view and quote so for bitcoin. Perfectly fine to say i'm not short bitcoin. Same question for tesla. oh. I don't want to talk about my investments that we just spent a bunch of time talking about. If you're not going to answer the question at least come up with a better non answer. That doesn't immediately contradict yourself. He has to have known that he'll be asked about that and yet seems completely content guard answer so that was last week if there was any doubt left after that because he did start off. By saying yeah. I'm not before interrupting himself as we said. Here's gates on bloomberg yesterday so we had five days to think about this answering the same question from emily. Chang yuan has in the past claimed you shorted tesla and i wonder if there's any truth to that Well you know i think. Test us on amazed seen company I wish you know own. Been more on the long side. But i it's it's great And you know i have. Lots of relatives won't tassels Helped by for them. So you know nothing. But positive thoughts about tesla role. Okay so if the answer to the cnbc question was a bit of a flood. There was a clear opportunity to just say. Hey i'm not sure. Tesla was jor tesla and again gates passes and he sure doesn't look comfortable to me answering the question. Belief is that it looks pretty clear. That bill gates was short. Tesla who knows if he's still is it'd be surprised but come on. How are you going to be all about climate change and then short the one company that's doing more than any other company on earth to combat it. If you don't think it's a good investment you think it's overvalued you can just not invest in it. No one has any problem with that but too short it push the stock price down. Make it more difficult for tesla to raise capital. That's something else entirely.

Her relatives back in pennsylvania had doubts as to whether they had killed her and their suspicion grew when they learned she had taken a drink from the mini bar right before collapsing. They took it as evidence that something else was a foot in just five days later it seemed they were proven right on may thirtieth at the bahia principe romana hotel staff entered a room to clean. They found two guests lying on the floor unresponsive. The housekeepers rushed to get help but it was too late. The couple was already long dead. The resort identified the bodies as sixty three year. An autopsy revealed they had eerily died from the same cause as david harrison pulmonary dima. All three were cardiac related deaths in which fluid filled their lungs. But in edward and cynthia's case no one called for help. If their hearts gave out at different times one of them should have been able to dial reception but there was no call indicating the two people suffered identical heart attacks at the exact same moment with three dead guests in under a week. The bahia principe chain realized they needed to get ahead of the press. The hotel company released a statement stressing that they were doing everything they could to help the families of the deceased and they would cooperate with local authorities to determine if there was any link between their deaths

She was using gritty for her electricity. Ah, variable rate company that charged her for $4500 last week. For five days of power. You knew, though, that the rates could go off. I did because they fluctuate every day, but some days it's 35 cents some days. It's 98 cents. I didn't think that it would be $1400 a day. I didn't even know that was possible. "Let's start today's show with a look at what you can find when you visit the largest of the greek islands crete. It's where the earliest advanced civilizations in europe were found more than four thousand years ago. We're joined by greek travel. Experts david and anastacia guy tanu. Our conversation was recorded prior to the covid. Pandemic closures david. How're cretans. The people who live on crete different from greeks and their outlook. I don't think there's a proud of person to be found in greece than creighton. Credence are extremely proud of their long history. There island and they're wonderful food. The people from crete really see themselves as being a little bit different to the people from the greek mainland anesthesia. When you think of the pride of crete people and the traditions. How does that survive in their dress. In the way the look when we travel there you can find that still worn by older people in the largest cities bad. You find it definitely in out in the country and in small villages and the further up you go on the mountains the more you find that and you have this. Very particular scoff. That they were on their head. It's black of course and usually there is also big moustache underneath definitely because that's Masculine thing and they have a black shirt in. They have brown trousers. That up. The very distinct and to create and usually black boots and i was struck when i went to crete that these traditions survive more there than elsewhere in europe. I mean everything's becoming modern in the same issue travel around more and more but increased. You do find those traditions alive David i was an increase just last june and having been there for a while i was wondering with ride. See some of these things like the old britches and the long boots and the the coach but to my great surprise they have not disappeared in fact they've now become trendy and symbols for the young symbols for the young. Would that be. Is that sort of an expression of independence. I think it's because they see themselves different and they wanted to let people know that they're proud of their traditions. There's lot of guns returned. There used to be synonymous with crate guns. But you see less of these days although when you go walking plenty of cartridges from the hunting season is that right what would they be hunting farm firm and anything that moves birds. Rabbits has if you're an athens. How easy is it to get down to create. It couldn't be more simple because there's Boats that do the trip overnight. And there's lots of lights with a gna so let's see you got five days crete. What would you do david. If you're helping me plan my very if going have five days. I would stick to the north and i would stick to iraq leo which is the capital and access point fo the famous minoan palace of knossos. And then i would go across honey. Which is the second city on crete. And it's just a beautiful Old venetian city from honey. Can't you go up to the top of the mountain in hike down the gorge of samaria. Have you ever had that. yes i have. what's it like. well you have a very long descend and the beginning. It's in kilometers about four kilometers to go down. You just go down a winding backing back inbound down and then you move through the gorge. But they're really beautiful spots at that gorge in you meet people. There are people there. There is once goal the gate in the result shepherd they who knows of course every guide and every person who goes often through that gorge unusually. He has cheese. And if you know you can well he can bring some other stuff out as well and you see. Also a lot of the very unique flora and fauna of crete and the. Raise your liking usually. You're uc wild ibex. That they have their only on crete and has a very funny name. Actually it's called click critically. Can i xe david. If i remember correctly the tourist generally catch a minibus or something up for the almost like at sunrise and then they walk switch backing down then. They have a long hike along the river with little places to swim along the way they reach a very very narrow part in the gorge where you can almost stretch your arms out and touch either of the sheer cliffs and then at the bottom you have a beautiful remote beach and boat waiting to take you to the next town from where you catch the shuttle bus back to your home. Base is still basically the routine that is still the routine la. They have come up with an alternative for the lazy person who does not want to do the whole walk. You can take a boat to. I think it's really the base of the gorge and you can do what they say. The gorge short way. When you simply walk up to the iron gates and walk back again undone to all the other stuff okay. So there is for the quick tourist and for the person wants to spend a little more

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner gives update on power outages and weather impact
"With me now is houston mayor sylvester turner previously served nearly thirty years as a texas state representative. He is in a command center right now. Monitoring situation in his city mayor. Thank you for taking a little time with us. And i don't want to start first with things aren't houston. Are they getting better. Chris in the last twenty four hours. Things have improved yesterday. At this time we had about one point. Three million customers without power Today as i talked to you that number is under thirty thousand in houston region yesterday The the water pressure was extremely low In fact hospitals were having a hard time getting but they needed Just to run a bear chillers to stay warm and other necessities today. The water pressure in the city of houston has increased And hospitals in much better shape at the same time people many of the people able to flush their kamoze improvement with still not wear. We want it to be but yesterday the pressure was below what we call twenty. Ps today as we speak that what a precious right around thirty so being things improving but again we still have some tremendous needs at. They're just zero in on the water aspect of this has been one of the more harrowing parts of it and a kind of a kind of cascade effect. We're going out water treatment facilities. Just explain to me what that means that it does. It mean pressure. Now you can you can. People can run water in their homes. That firefighters have water that hospitals have it is. That is that where things are correct. Hospitals now have watered. That can run the chillers. Keep the patients that doctors and medical staff Warm in in in in cool weather so to speak People able to take showers. Peabody plus two komo but because the water pressure dropped below the regulatory requirement twenty. Psi you automatically have to give ball water. Notices so you have over seven hundred jurisdictions around the state of texas a chieftain san antonio austin example in many others where there are bald notice requirements and that will continue to be the case probably through the weekend at the earliest that ball. What notice could probably be lifted on sunday. But i think for houston probably be monday. Which means if people don't have power because just also ball your water about two minutes but what happens if you don't have power then people are going to rely a great deal on bought a water and that's why starting today We started distributing water to those persons for example. Who don't have the means to go into a grocery store and purchase tomorrow for example will be masked water distribution site in the city of houston where we will probably give out tomorrow anywhere between seven to nine hundred thousand bottles of water primarily for people for families who already on the modulus. Chris and they just can't afford to go in and purchase two and three and four cases of water. And we'll do that Tomorrow saturday sunday until this ball. Water notice has been listed. That's really that's very helpful in understanding where things are. Let me let me also ask what your interfaces have been. With spill state and federal government i know females on the on on the ground. Have you been talking with aircraft that run the the grid with folks from fina. The federal government and with governor abbot. What are those interactions been like. Well i've talked several times with the ceo. Behead of eric hot And n n what he will say to you. Is that the system that we have in the state of texas. Our texas korea is designed for the summer heat. It is not necessarily designed for winter storms and then as relates to this. What happened in this. In the last four or five days that was simply not enough adequate generation supply available to meet the demand and the supply that they had reserved so to speak when with shop when some of the facilities came all flying of been made things even worse and let me quickly speak to those who are trying to say. oh the wind turbine frozen. You shouldn't be looking at renewables as a false false aligned. Being put four because the plants that came off line while natural gas plants coal fired. Plant Nuclear plants came offline. You wind turbine strobes. So it was a combination but when it comes to win and sola that's still only counts for a fraction of the energy that's produced in the state of texas. The rally at reality is that the state was. Ill prepared The other thing that i would add when i was in the legislature but twenty three of my twenty seven years i said on the on the committee that oversees our electric utility industry back in twenty eleven fouled a bill saying to the public utility commission that we need to exert greater oversight over urquhot to prevent blackouts of every kind that we have are experiencing in texas for four for these last four days batmobile. Chris was never given a hearing. And so for anybody. Who's just trying to place the blame on irc That's not enough as part of the story but it's not the total story. Archive is an agency of the state of texas is the leadership of that overseas or cat and what happened in this week with the failure. Not just urquhot but of the statewide leadership state representative state senators. Who didn't do enough to make the necessary. Structural changes prevent what took place this week but mccurry and as a result of that hundreds of thousands of texans paid a horrible price and they are number of stony that we live in the city of my city that anada that not allowed to date to go into next week. Some of them died from carbon monoxide. Trying to keep themselves

"five day" Discussed on The Industry
"Well not exactly. So when Elliott? Gould dropped out of the picture and there was a kind of scramble to possibly and it was a place with a really short period of time. I'm not lasted very long. Because he was what was I think? Generating the interest financing and the picture but there was a moment where the idea was. How do we? How do we resuscitate here? And what do we do you know? I was at that moment in time and only for a brief moment I was sort of. You know hot young thing and they're given I were together. And you know there was this momentary discussion and it may literally only been in my head up you know how about if I stepped into this film because because I I went like my youth works to my advantage in this part point here Elliott. Gould is around thirty two. When it comes to tiger is being made. Chris was still in his twenties and was probably a better fit for the role of Luther at least age wise. I mean I had a copy of glimpse of Tiger for one hundred years. I mean I used to carry it around all over the place I dunno I I had this kind of fantasy about resuscitating that movie in that I you know this was going to be a great thing for me to do. I'm not sure I was right by the way but you know that was my idea time but it never worked out for Chris. He was not able to get the picture mate and considering the effort that Chris put into getting. This made one question. Did pop into my mind at any point while you were thinking about getting this made. Did you ever think to bring this to your father? No there's something. I should point out to you about Chris. His father was directing legend. Don Siegel for those of you. Unfamiliar With Siegel. He was the man behind invasion of the body. Snatchers dirty Harry. Charley varick escape from Alcatraz and a number of others. The man was an absolute legend. I don't remember ever thinking of giving it to my father to get the next question I would think you. That's why would you and I guess that would open a Pandora's box you there. The dysfunction was between me and my father. Now it's a perfectly reasonable question. He actually he had a very interesting project about. It was a really weird little kind of arty movie idea that he fell in love with a this kid who was kind of in some ways. It was a similar story That he was he wanted to do work with me. He wanted to make a movie with me and I think he felt a little guilty in that he didn't fight to put me into or choose to put me into And I think by the way he made the right choice the The movie he made with John Wayne the shooter I to play the kid in it through our part. Okay our because Iran hours like really good in that and in many ways it was really playing into all the things that Ron Howard did terribly well and that I would have had to act terribly well And so I think you know my father probably made the right choice but I think he's still complicated about it but I never. I never even considered. I just didn't feel like Don Seagal movie to me. Herman Rauscher took screenplay and turned it into a successful novel. He's in his nineties these days and when I asked to speak with him about a glimpse of Tiger. Here's how he responded. Thanks for your email. The attempted adaptation of a glimpse of Tiger was a bad experience. All around and not something. I want to revisit now. Still I do appreciate your interest and wish you all the best. Gould would end up. Owing Warner Brothers. One hundred and seventy five thousand dollars for the loss production of a glimpse of Tiger painted off to twenty five thousand dollars a year over seven years and he also didn't work for almost two years. Afterwards it was his mash director. Robert Altman that brought back before cameras for the excellent. The long goodbye in one thousand nine hundred seventy three however before gould could be cast he had to take a psychiatric evaluation and be legally declared. Sane in interviews. Gould refers to his time with glimpse of Tiger as the debacle or the humble back. Gary is talking about it on the podcast. Wpf with Marc Maron Blink. Something that was called at the time. A glimpse of Tiger and the way I saw it it was the little prince in urban America right now and I was the aviator and the princess. This girl and I didn't know that I should have tried to cast my wife. Jenny and I cast. I wanted to cast Kim Darby and I said to her. It's going to be difficult. I've never done this before to be playing a part in. This is a different part of the car to be really frightening just like this and so if if you get frightened or you don't understand where I'm coming just say timeout. Put your make a tee with your hands. Call me over to the side. I'm like a doll. I mean I need you to be happy secure and comfortable but she. She was scared. And I didn't know that I was way beyond limits in terms of the comprehension of the people. I was working with us. I put my heart in my life. You know and and the movie didn't get finished or no it didn't and that was the beginning of the humbling. Yes Oh yes. There was talk that Gould was on drugs. And that this clause into freak out or have a nervous breakdown but he's denied that he hasn't denied using drugs. Mind you the totally admits to using drugs. He likes to smoke a little marijuana and do some psychedelics but he denies that drugs was the problem. Gould instead says things Like his problem wasn't drugs. Reality was or. He didn't know how to play the part or that he had no perspective. I even had carotene and Barbara. Hershey came to stay with me for a while and he had two dogs and I love Carotene. I felt guilty look at Karen and accounting family. They're great American actors. And what look what? I'm doing how to get in this position and to do this but I mean there was. Nobody really there with me. Jenny was there but I can't say that she understood. And I certainly didn't understood but I didn't know that I didn't have the right To create I thought that I could and so I had to pay for it. I had to find out that there are boundaries. And I'm fine with it. I paid for the product. Gould's production company was basically done. Never made a movie out of the assistant. The book I mentioned in the opener they did make a few dollars off that woody Allen picture though it was nineteen seventy. Two's everything you wanted to know about sex but was afraid to ask the touch. The Ingmar Bergman film that Gould Start in was released in. Nineteen seventy one and was a flop. It received mixed reviews and recorded a loss of a little over a million dollars after the longer by in Nineteen seventy-three Gould's career picked back up for better or worse and he's been working steadily ever since one or brothers would be fine. Yeah I know no shock there. They took a glimpse of tiger script and gave it to director Peter Bogdanovich to see if he was interested he wasn't but then took some elements of it. Flip the sex of the leads and turn it into a screwball comedy and called. What's up? Doc Is San Francisco. The city chosen by one of the most sensitive new generation of filmmakers. Peter Bogdanovich for his maiden comedy. What's up doc starring? Barbra streisand and Ryan O'Neal. Well there's not much to see. Actually we're inside a tiny drag any experienced observer of trooping techniques which quickly sense the not only. Was it a big hit for one brothers. In nineteen seventy two. It was a big hit for star. Barbra streisand who in case you don't know happens to be Elliott Gould's ex-wife. Thank you for listening to this episode of the industry. "Sorry, thinking, hey, maybe maybe it's going to be really dead. Right. Maybe they made a mistake in the and shouldn't be open this late news gonna who's gonna shop it midnight on Thanksgiving Day. Right. I get all my God. I to them all and it's packed. It's like a regular Saturday afternoon at the mall was unbelievable so many people. So I think what's happening is that people are going out or having their thanksgiving dinner. And then they're like, okay. Here's the new tradition after thanksgiving dinner or packing up instead of passing out. We're going to the mall. I guess it's exercise, you know. I it's it's just so ridiculous. To me. I mean, I understand the whole store opens at five AM or six AM on on black Friday. I don't agree with it. I'm not getting up that early. Just some great deal but open till midnight on thanksgiving. This just something wrong with that. I'm sorry. I just it's just weird. Yes. Well, we were so we did something a little bit different. I am I'm in LA for four the holiday. This is the first time I've been away from home. But this is kind of the first time I've been on the other side of the country. I've been away from home for a long time so JJ, and I decided that we were going to do something a little bit different than than we as a as not single people, but us as as a couple would do. So instead of doing a thanksgiving dinner. We actually did thanksgiving brunch. Where we had oh Margery actually Marjorie from turnkey. Marjorie are Alexander from our our company was over. And she brought a friend and the four of us had a had thanksgiving brunch. And then we were playing with the kittens most of the day, if you don't know who the kittens are what they are. We're fostering five kittens, I can't remember if we talked about that and then last week show. But anyway, we're fostering five kittens, and we were all just hanging out with the kittens we had a lot of seat in a room. I don't know why. Flies through my brain here. Okay. Anyway. So it was a it was a gluten free. I think almost dairy free thanksgiving meal, which was which was really good because I didn't walk away with that wa- feeling. So we had we had brunch. And then we went out to thanksgiving dinner to a local restaurant and Marjorie and a friend went with us to tha that dinner as well to dinner as well. So it was the four of us. We spent the entire day together. We had a great time. It was really fun. We laughed a lot. We we were. I don't know chatting about everything and nothing, and as we were pulling away from the restaurant that we went to think it was called salt creek was the restaurant as we were pulling away from the restaurant. I could see the best buy was open. And again, this is thanksgiving evening. And there was like pick us out front or brunch. Is it afternoon or evening? No. So we had brunch. In the keep up with the story. Strict we had J twelve I know China we had brunch during the day at the house here we. We made brunch. Sorry, if I wasn't clear about that. And then we took a little pause for meeting. And then we went out to dinner a couple of hours later few hours later, and so as we're pulling away we saw like best buy was wide open. And it was packed and out front of the best buy there's all these pickup trucks with their flashers on. And everybody has like they must have been running a special on big screen television sets. I guess this is the time of year to buy a big screen TV. Yeah. That's typically what they do. Do you? Remember when when the plasmas and Elsie, well is is abort before LED or LCD came out. So instead, I sent him to your mom right in they were and they're really good and they smell good. And they were very yes, right? Yeah. Yeah. If they weren't good. Would you send the next ones to your ex wives? Well, it's funny. You say that because as you know, Strickland, we are now, let's see what's what's today's date when we're like twelve days away twelve th we are now like twelve days away from my my final alimony payment. Counting down to this for a long time a long time, and I sent him a text the other day when he said only fourteen days to go. I don't know if he got it because. When I said, hey, Doug. Do you want me to get you an advent calendar, so you can open the little windows every day counting down. Do you know that you're saying that if you did send that it went right over my head? It really does. So in the first window in the first window is like a a a little baby growing up. And in the second window. It's a it's a child going to college the third the third window is like two people. You all you see is the backs of two people sitting in chairs across from a judge. A guy with a wig the next one. The next one is all I got the next one is a is a guy any appears to be on a date with a much younger blonde. Wow. The the wait a minute is alimony from your first. Yeah. Marriage, right. Yes. Yes. Go like to the court. And then it goes the next one would be like a much younger brunette, right, right? Another wedding, right? Oh. Court date. The head a little bit there. Hey, okay. So it's really funny because not funny. It's kind of say in a way that worked poking fun of my life. But this is okay. December is going to Mark a very very important integral part of my life. So December marks my final alimony payment with from my first wife. Okay. My final payment and the divorce the divorce proceedings. The hearing for from my second wife, so December of two thousand eighteen is actually a very very upheaval pivotal time in the life of Doug Sandler, do you know the advent calendars, you know, there's like every day. Right. I mean, that's how they work. I mean, you understand how they're counting down to Christmas. When I was a kid. I love those. It's like, which one of us, my brother, I guess to open the window. Right. But you know, with a lot of them when you open the window. It's like what present you think. You might get her Smith's, right? I know this. Yeah. So maybe you can like all the things that you're going to do. With the extra money. You have right. Like one wanna be your tesla behind you know, you know, what? Strict here's where I wanna go would. I would. I really am looking for is just a breath. I'm just looking I really am. I swear I have not planned out. Like, oh my God. I'm gonna take my first month that I'm not paying alimony. I'm going to get a go on vacation the next month. I'm going to buy a car the next month. I none of that. I just want the relief just for one fucking month. Please. I mean, I know I wanted for many more than one month's, but just to have it just so I can just just relax for a moment. Just ramon. Okay. Okay. Fair enough. You can do that. You'll you'll have a whole lot more until the alimony from the next one starts. Jeez. I'm hoping I don't get like a Winnie Jammie. Like all of a sudden here. Here comes the court court papers in the mail. Oh, sorry. Remember, all those papers that you said that she's not asking for anything. Well, she's asking for rush. Rush to stuffing that that's not happening. At least be kind to me. I have been a good soul. I really have been strike attest to the fact that I have actually been a good guy through this entire process. Even a very good guy process the process, dude sucks. Yeah. Anyway. So that will start with the books. We don't know if that is the correct pronunciation, but the website is be.

"Electric vehicle, but it only is good up through the I two hundred thousand vehicles that a a menus and do they a specific manufacturer? So you could go to another manufacturer if you chose to right? Exactly. So like, let's say the Nissan leaf, right? The Nissan leaf is selling relatively well. So if you bought a leaf, it could be that you can't get a seventy five hundred dollar tax credit because they've sold two hundred thousand or more of them. I rather store not. But like the Ford Focus electric, which I bought already. I don't think is selling particularly. Well, so you could probably buy those for years to come and stars because a range of like. Twenty seven miles. Yeah. I know this problem because I'm getting so anyway, I just got an Email from tesla saying they've just sold their two hundred thousand vehicle and I'm like, whoa, dude. I I want my seventy five hundred dollar tax credit. So the way it works is as long as I take delivery on or before December thirty first then I get my seventy five hundred dollar tax plan. That's plan right now December. All right. So so the deal is this if you don't take delivery of your tesla by December thirty first I get it. That's yeah. Pretty much. Yeah. So you can get the federal tax credit. Yeah. That's it exactly. And and seventy five hundred dollar tax credit. So the the vehicle cost what? Like fifty five grand. So fifty five grand. So it's kind of like you're actually spending forty eight thousand dollars, then exactly okay. It's still, but I keep coming back to this. When I bought my two thousand eleven Toyota Highlander, I spent forty thousand dollars on it. I didn't put any money down zero money down I financed. The tack the even the sales tax on.

"We gotta talk villa villa eighteen so i don't really know where to start with the villa art at the front door but the front door we originally like when we first got there we checked right in and dropping stuff off at the villa really quickly and you walk into this front door and it's like an open kitchen and living room open concept with these giant french doors behind and the small little patio that just overlook the gulf so i think that was my mistake not french doors according doors that literally it's three doorways on the left side three doorways on the right hand side okay literally full allegation corden so it brings oh really love a good accordion you've probably thirty feet of of door space to open to your backyard just happens to be one fairway and the yeah it's like they just got rid of the whole wall for you direct yeah they movable wall they took out an unnecessary wall and just put in a guess they call them accordion windows so we walk and we're just like what the fuck is going to stay our place that we talked like this is amazing bedrooms right yet so all our villa looks over the first fairway of links and then a lot of the holes the way that it's built their kind of each a little bit right it's tiered that you can just see this magnificent vista from there we're having a couple of peers checking him davila so we had a four bedroom villa the up huge kitchen said like big table for activities and all that living room beautiful that opens up into the you'll see in the video taj about you'll see it and the four bedrooms and then they're all it's all new rights the bathrooms lurch you or the biggest fan of the i mean i'm a big aren't our guy when it comes time to relax todd rest and relaxation for people that don't know yep so when i settle in and i find my place and i'm on vacation i'm looking for the amenities and the the amenities they had so you walk in put my stuff down in my room and walk into the bathroom of course as soon as i get somewhere you know you gotta kick the shoes off you gotta get let those dogs breathe hampton and i go into the bathroom and my floor is already heated so my toes are just warm enough and just the biggest mile comes down my face when i when we heated it it's it's warm warm just bad slow legit heated floors in the bathrooms the showers have the waterfall option get the main shower head up and you can just flip it up and boom it comes down the waterfall on you and you're sitting there and you're like i'm just on these cliffs in this waterfall in my shower in my perfect i don't over gets better then you get out towel time so yeah i mean as soon as that's done they give you an rowbotham but i was dot every day that i have a rope with me yeah so i'm more familiar with palestine okay and what taliban is basically you know you've got a nice sunny day you might have a porch overlooking something you take a shower you're settling in your just all smiles you probably cracked a shower beer just because things are that good yeah get out of the shower body might get a little cooler feet stay warm and i throw on a towel go right out to the deck and i'm just hanging there in a towel time you couldn't rip smile off my face it is the most relaxing thing of all time body's completely free and you just got a towel on it was it made me happier seeing how happy you are during the second we walk through the door to the villa i just i don't know how you it was almost like you just teleported into a towel really quickly you were just like it was i couldn't even blink you were just in a towel so the villas are there insane all so beautiful about the first time you lay in your bed poisoning it's the best mattress you've had in your life the giant giant mattress just kind of like saint you just sink into the mattress you look over to your right and you're looking at this golf sunsetting again or the stars the bazillion stars which mesmerize so much so like.

"They're putting more villas they're building a new club or a clubhouse at cliffs clips courses only two thousand sixteen in open so they're finishing the clubhouse there the building another they're building a three course and they're building another of course we got a little insight analogy are building another golf course on these other cliffs just down the road a couple of miles down the road but yeah these villas there's going to be new villas there we stood up there we're like okay we're in somebody's future living room mary nice get to the eighth green eight th green is an awesome massive double green house with anytime you get one of those just like you're just throwback to the old course absolutely i actually played the thirteenth pin the first time we were there because the eighth china touchback left and side shot my approach into thirteen which was a beautiful shot but fifty yards right of eight bread headed to the the the wrong flag eireann flight it just wrong flag that these things are going to happen then we wrapped up nine you know and it's it's a nice 'cause it's that was like that was bonus that was like you're stealing golf didn't even know who are going to get that nine in arrive or to meet some people hang out and have some beers kind of settle in and just get excited for golf and like talk about what you know the match is going to be what the games will be etc and then andrews like we need to get you out there and play nine and realize that sounds that sounds perfect time we'll do that that was sold on the wasn't before went anderson out there and play nine i was sold on the trip completely yet that absolutely i he gets it this is perfect so we wrapped up the nine holes we owe back we had a lovely lovely dinner on this deck outside just perfect weather we gotta talk about the weather the weather whether it was i mean on the five days was shockingly beautiful and we got stretches of a variety of different weather out perfect started out as it could be like glassy water even the gulf which they say is like never that way was literally glass through the first teen eighteen holes that we played on thursday yup and then it kind of changed over some weather came in throughout the course of the week we played in all sorts of weather and then yesterday it was like we got one day we got intense win but it was sunny and warm next day we got sunny and windy in the morning and then super windy and rainy for like six or seven holes which we were like let's bring it more you pack reindeer its links gov up we were like eight transfusions deep at that point and we're like it's lakes ego let's go you're putting out videos and you literally kate him and hear each other talking because it's like blowing so hard rain howling down yeah and then there's like no humidity it's just this perfect like fresh type weather and it was worth dumb right because we're from the united states of america we think like oh nova scotia canada like that must be cold it was warm like seventy three degrees but sixty four and like seventy nine degrees the holy the entire time so going back a second when we show up to the airport all of us are eggs rigs myself have like a little bag and then what you do on golf trips is you just bring your golf bag and like you just stop it with close to protect your club old trick yeah.

"Acting like a mirror for this guy was beautiful it's burned in my memory too because on that old hey just took a picture of the three of us and somehow made myself look like i was five foot three which was woken large heck's did you photoshop that that was actually not on purpose i don't know i don't know you would know nothing that photo show this picture of the three of us because the heck stugotz it's obviously myself brett and lurch in lurch big fucking guy so i call them lurch just a huge person but i'm like pretty bretton i are similar size yup you're maybe an inch on you in this picture you legitimately you look like the same size as i don't know what is happening literally the same exact size it's insane phrasing in my like my head look smaller than your head like i looked like you just at photoshop i looked like a photoshop shrinkage it's almost like you're standing like thirty feet behind us and you're just small you know the camera like except you were just we urge right dwarf it allows top you on i do in that picture though so i'm not totally totally beautiful picture ever and you look like tiny person i'll get that was kind of a tough break but anyways we wrap up that whole like i said it's par four it's almost it's just it's that good as good as it sounds put him out there the videos that we put out which are going to be phenomenal yup are going to show it and hopefully do it justice and all that then we wrapped up the front nine the eighth hole well this you might have had but in your arteries on the walk from six to seven you kind of walked a little over over these ridges and over a road and we see these these wooden i don't wanna say pedestals but wouldn't upright kind of platforms yes and we were kind of wondering thought they were pitcher opportunities or sunset opportunities and so we asked andrew afterwards said hey what are the wooden platforms he goes oh that's where the living rooms are going to be for the houses that were going to be out there and it goes so you give a look to the people that come up your where they're going to be sitting on their couch ouch watching sunsets and golf from on these wooden plant which was that was another golden golden hour we just stood up there on one of those little future livingrooms shot up to the team over there that's a nice sales marketing effort chance to show on your property so the place developing.

"The promo code four at checkout so pose golf you wanna talk about that round that night or do you want to count a we'll get to that in a second so let's you're right we get out and we have no idea what to expect and i will say going into this and i've talked about this other podcast before when you go play worldclass course that you've kind of saved up for thought about forever and you know it's going to be atop course you'll ever play there's an urge to look at every single whole online the hole by hole tore study at know everything about it before you get there i've done that nothing i've also done where i arrive at no nothing because you want to preserve that surprise factor i i liked i liked eddie rolling onto a t and being like i have no idea what this whole is let's just see banned in another places i didn't really do much of our i didn't preserve it i kind of knew everything i just couldn't help it this both courses i didn't know really anything before we got here and so every hole that we saw was a surprise and there was a point on the front and hind where we were playing lengths because cabot cliffs i think is ranked number nine on planet earth by golf digest i think that's and cabot links is ranked fortieth or something like that so things like the clip courses better and all that and there was a point on the front nine when we first played at that that first night where we just looked at each other and said i don't even know how cliffs could be better than this this it was so good absolutely i hole course i hold sectors just nice open parfive of big wide fairway oh i hole for swing of the the tour for mayor the trip i andrew the gm i have michelle who's was in marketing i have another member of the staff and i hope my drive off one of the villas you might have hit billy billy and i was just like oh no yes sorry made a loud and thought thought so sorry okay all right yeah right the rules u s like can we hit it over there hit that yes it open over there yeah no that's that's inbound right yeah definitely sure twenty dollars at one point one of the windows boys no worries so my first instinct on the course was held linxia place i know you guys have probably have you guys played links golf before in limited truly limited nothing nothing nothing nothing prize by the firmness in the fastness and all that yeah so it'd beats you up to it beats up this it beats up your shins your feet the course the terrain is so firm in so links because it just gets windswept whole all that that pounds your feet your legs right now we're at the point we're all like icing our legs which is what you want that's links cough i mean that's the full experience but it's not like around greens and all that it's not sixty degrees it's like bumps and runs in putz and all that we gotta talk about the the sixth hole the harbor harbor whole yes we got to the harbour whole i at sunset and it was one of those like immediately we all took phones our like picture time that was stunning stunning abscess yes we had that pacific we have the pacific sunset but not but in the gulf the gulf pacific sunset thing and we get it and we turn because those part of the par three fifth hole before it yup is gorgeous gorgeous little hole but it's going out you're not facing towards the sunset would say that's going south west almost very very yep it's also elevator legal yeah so when you hit that parthree and you get up right green you're elevated and then you get to look down six which is just awesome i mean so six is a par four that wraps it's dogleg left par for that wraps around this cove and in the cove is just this much justic harbor that it's like i don't so call there's lobster boats in there from the seas and at that point in the night with this onset and the glassy water i mean that's a that's a picture that just burn in my memory i'll never forget because he's got like clouds kind of reflecting a little bit off the water yeah but it's it's just you know the water is.

"And he's i mean and we'll get into everybody at cabinet but they are the most hospitable people in the world and then going and we'll get into this second tell you one rule there one rolling enrolled rate so you ask for anything they're going to figure out a way to do it for you and it's i mean we'll get into every second of the trip but it is not just like i'm trying to keep this conversation on point man it is a five hundred everything like in jeff ramble on and spit it out kind of the king and operations i think it goes down from him yes and he's just set a precedent and they do everything in their power to make sure that you are it is gonna be yes they nail it like you said they said that to us multiple times we have one rule yes that's their only rule and they know it they everything we possibly wanted we just made a phone call and it just arrived everything was yeah there it was perfect it was flawless really canada right we have this reputation like oh the cajun's are just so nice and they were like ten times nicer than that they were just phenomenal but we arrive and we had you know we got like five thirty six something like that we arrive we really had no plans where like we'll just do a couple of drinks let a little dinner we'll see andrew we meet andrew and a couple of other of the folks the staff in the marketing department all that helped us and helped book our trip and all that stuff did a couple of drinks with them and andrew gets it so much that he was like look boys and andrews is such a beauty crazy man i love we're kind of back and hockey culture we didn't really know they just call everybody a beautiful and beauty so andrew gets and he's like boys look i know this is nicer having drinks with us out on this jack which it was it was fabulous he's like but the reason you guys come here for the golf you need to get out on the golf course what's do one or two drinks with us you're not here for us you're here for the golf we popped over to cabinet links right out in front of us play the front nine at cabinet links you know the sun's out late here right so it's like you can play ten o'clock bill and i think that's why he knew to like you gotta get on the golf course because when we were there we saw some of those beautiful sunsets of all time and one hundred new shared a bunch of photos on instagram etc but man was that sunset unbelievable you don't wanna miss a single second of those sunsets actually the first one you know you kind of have the pacific coast you're going to be like holy shit this is going to be unreal and then it delivers and its unredacted i pacific sunset i've ever seen in my life where it goes down over the ocean yup and i think on the gulf so everybody the cabinet is on the western side of the nova scotia like peninsula with this island what's this island called this is cape breton kaelin raton island yes and the cliffs of nova scotia the cliffs of cabinet are on the western side that's why we keep saying pacifico.

"Like a minivan rid of the headrest out and they lose them your parents two kind of fake stop with it not brody violence but then you can just do that so we took all those out the space here now people can only go pro footers that we've got midst just it was the most comfortable i've ever been we had three hour drive that's what it is three hour drive with halifax up to cabinet gorgeous dr i'm tom telling you get about halfway halfway there you get the water views for the first time everybody's leaning like jurassic park where they're trying to see the t rex we're all on the side of the van like looking for the ocean what is it the gulf of saint lawrence lawrence oh see i liked that gets golf i think it's gulf of saint lawrence we'll call it the sea is he's nice bays basically it might as well be the pacific ocean yup because all of the views back yeah which we'll get into sunset sturdy electric hard not to the gun on this trip truck ritzy came in i thought you were a little defensive about bennett you're like i i don't think anything could beat that thought you were very excited about betty or you're almost trying not to measure this up to that yes and then five days later you've changed tones yes and that's just what it that's how these things work you want to compare them which trip is this or that they're both very different places and all that so we'll get into some of that but the sprinter van down on talk we get in they got a cooler with ice cold waters in their ranks we stopped by liquor story grab some peers were having pops cold pops nice beautiful we got the local beers we did a little bat blue some also canadian petals such better so local alexander keiths is on we just did the most generic like canadian beers we have heard of and he started ripping them so three hour drive down we had the we have the tunes going you start to see the ocean you're doing the drastic park thing you're just is excited as you can see it went by lightning fast how do anything to be back there right now anything anybody to where we we talked about that one point on the drive where we were about fifteen minutes outside of of cabinet and you're like this is the moment right that without your started running out so i'm so i'm just going to sprint there nobody could beat me i'm so right so we arrive okay you pull in you go to hell like you you kind of start high and you drive down a little hill you start overlooking the whole scene with the clubhouse the courses you're wondering which holds that which you'll which courses this what am i seeing where's the villa were to the villa built charlottesville eighteen philadel role in pop right up by the catholic backdrop type situation like front desk everything's very centered yes awesome little homebase basically roll out right away our boy andrew who is sort of communications these genes gm at all okay oh he's a hat the gm best guy ever yeah drew hands down is the nicest guy you could ever meet understands why you're there why you want to be there you know the gulf being the main draw.

"The show on and look at this stuff that they probably some of it's like but some of its section quentin quentin amusing and stuff like that is what we need to get people to chuck people to to the game congratulations on all that you're doing as mediocre as it is these newer younger hip or forms like barstools four targets had three back surgeries he's had one fusion we welcome in from barstool sports rigs and trent guys welcome to the show all right cabinet links in nova scotia canada it's it's the boys we got a hell of a crew we're just coming back from a trip we are literally on the van the sprinter van which is a sad moment we're all rocking cabot gear it's myself it's producer heads my roommate lurch and we got office manager breath was going head of programming breath unites so we have a ton of talk about feel like a lot of people out there probably don't know a ton about cabot links cabot cliffs probably don't know a ton about nova scotia canada so again wants to set the setting we are all pretty much rock and cabot gear i may have the most aggressive cabinet habit anybody's ever purchased i'd i'd say more electric than addresses to be honest with you you like test lurch doesn't like no it's it's quite aggressive what do you even call that pederson seersucker within the logos yeah that it just it dominates everything it's clout my hat dumb hegg's had his first big week out there running around film and while playing golf at the same time have to say heads your best the best nickname i've ever heard is that your caja joy i mean yeah i i went out i got myself a little visor and then all of a sudden on k j and you know well i mean the story real quick hey just was walking down the fairway and somebody does he looks like a golfer and dylan who will we'll talk about later of our caddies dylan i'll just leave each other we'd kitchen at the same exact time and then from there on out it was you were cage hr the visor does it just seals the deal hegg's is a swedish asian combo with a k j choi visor just exactly like so that was nice and again he's rocking the the cabinet visors and all that we got tons emerged one of the best logos in the biz in the business my favorite actually of all time it's just tough to say now it's so fitting with nova scotia you kind of like no it's on the water and then they give you this like amazingly late ship that looks like it's about to arrive and it's a ship that is arriving that's arriving and then you're a cabinet it's got the sale the giant sale and even even put in like four ripples of water underneath it and then cabinet and then they put that little dot in the million over makes it looked that that works but it's just phenomenal phenomenal logo found the location dot com i'm okay that's where they're arrive it's all part of the theme speaking of arrival so cabinet is an inverness nova scotia canada it is you said that correctly to the inverness no you got a.
