"At least one single colored complete sub graph on four complainer vortices and this is just part of ramsey theory. Which is saying like. I have a shape. How big do the shape has to be. This thing held the definition of grams number. No ramsey th th the definition of ramsey's grabs number is odd thing. I read the first part. And i'm going to buy real gordon. Ramsey's voice connect each path to metric. I sees well an dementia connected. Complete graph funny but what that means is a hyper cube is like you take two cubes and you connect the corresponding verdict afford visual cube. You do it with two. Four dimensional cubes as the five cubits cetera. That's hyper cube. We have an app on our website. Breaking podcast dot com slash hyper cuba. Html and basically what is this saying. How many sorry to answer your question. That app is a hypoc bap which we've met him before. Yeah and the hyksos saying like if we have a hyper cube where you connect every corner to every other corner. So if were a three cube it would be like all the corners are connected to the all the corners all the edges are there but So let's say we did this with like a hundred dimensional cube or something. I don't some big dimension and you want you're asking the question. How does this have to be in so that if we colored every line that we drew redder blue. Would there be anywhere square with an exit where the square is in the squares blew. It turns out that the number of dimensions is very huge that That is the lower bound for the number of dimensions. Are wow okay and we're going to have to talk about two things to actually talk about. How gigantic huge number is so addition addition is just like two plus three is what five. Obviously yeah i got that and so two times three would be a repeated addition right two plus two plus two right yes and then to cube. Two to three would be two times two times two. Yes which would be basically repeated multiplication which in multiplication self is repeated addition and so exponentially repeatable vacation multiplications repeated addition but what is beyond exponentially asian repeated exponentially. Yeah and then repeated that interesting so imagine if you have four up arrows. So that's This is called news up arrow notation. So one up arrow is exponential asian to exponent to up. Eros is one step beyond expectation. So four up arrows. a three steps beyond exponentially asian. Oh wow so you could imagine. With four up arrows three would be gigantic number right. Yeah it'd be like it'd be much bigger than google right yes wa. That's step one step. Two is to take three four up arrows three and draw that many arrows between three and three and that step to okay this is what's behind exponentially exponentially ation now. He did that sixty four times. That's grams number..

"My eyes will weep bitterly and run down with tears. Because the lord's flock has been taken captive say to the king and the queen. Mother take a lowly seat for your beautiful crown has come down from your head. The cities of the negev are shut up with none to open them. All judah is taken into exile holy taken into exile. Lift up your eyes and see those who come from the north. Where is the flock. That was given you your beautiful flock. What will you say when they set as head over you. Those whom you yourself have taught to be friends to. You will not paying take hold of you like those of a woman with labor pains and if you say in your heart why if these things come upon me it is for the greatness of your iniquity that your skirts are lifted up and you suffer violence in the ethiopian. Change his skin or the leopard his spots. Then also you can do good. Who are accustomed to do evil. I will scatter you like chaff driven by the wind from the desert. This is your lot the portion. I've measured out to you says the lord because you have forgotten me and trusted in lies i myself will lift up your skirts over your face. And your shame will be seen i have seen your abominations your adultery innings your lewd harlot trees on the hills in the field. Woe to you oh jerusalem. How long will it be before you are made clean. The book of the prophet ezekiel chapter. Forty one then. He brought me to the nave and measured the jams on each side. Six cubits was the breadth of jams and the breadth of the entrance was ten cubits and the side walls of the entrance were five cubits on either side and he measured the length of the nave forty cubits and it's breath twenty cubits then he went into the inner room and measured the jams of the entrance to cubits and the breadth of the entrance six cubits and the sidewalls walls of the entrance seven cubits and he measured the length of the room twenty cubits and it's breath twenty cubits beyond the nave and he said to me this is the most holy place then he measured the wall of the temple six cubits thick and the breadth of the side chambers four cubits roundabout the temple and the side chambers were in three stories one over another thirty in each story. There were offsets. All around the wall of the temple to serve supports for the side chambers. So that they should not be supported by the wall of the temple and the side chambers became broader as they rose from story to story corresponding to the enlargement of the offset from story to story roundabout. The temple on the side of the temple. A stairway led upward and thus one went up from the lowest story to the top story through the middle story..

"East was a gate to the inner court and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits and he led me toward the south and behold there was a gate on the south and he measured it's jams and his vestibule they had the same size as the others and there were windows roundabout in it and in its vestibule like the windows of the others it's linked was fifty cubits and it's breath twenty five cubits and there were seven steps leading up to it and it's best to be all was on the inside and it had palm trees on his jams one on either side and there was a gate on the south of the inner court any measured from gate to gate toward the south he hundred cubits then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate and he measured the southgate it was of the same size as the others. It's side rooms. It's jams and it's best to be all were of the same size as the others and there were windows roundabout in it. And in its festival it's length was fifty cubits and its breadth twenty five cubits and that we're vestibules roundabout twenty five cubits long and five cubits broad. It's vestibule face. The outer court and palm trees were on. Its jams and stairway had eight steps. Then he brought me to the inner court on the east side and he measured the gate. It was of the same size as the others. It's side rooms. It's jams and it's best to be all we're of the same size as the others and there were windows roundabout in it and in its vestibule it's linked with fifty cubits and its breadth twenty five cubits its vestibule faced the outer court and it had palm trees on its jams one another side and stairway had eight steps then he brought me to the northgate and he measured it. It had the same size as the others. It's side rooms it's jams and its vestibule we're of the same size as the others and it had windows roundabout it's linked with fifty cubits and its breadth twenty five cubits its vestibule face the outer court and it had palm trees on its jams one on either side and stairway had eight steps there was a chamber with its store in the vestibule of the gate or the burnt offering was to be washed and in the vestibule of the gate where two tables on either side on which the burnt offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering were to be slaughtered and on the outside of the vestibule at the entrance of the northgate were two tables and on the other side of the vestibule of the gates were two tables four tables were on the inside and four tables on the outside of the side.

"To stories called the blank flood mad. Libs noah's flood. He comes from genesis chapter six to chapter nine. It's the bible but funnier a show that offers fresh takes on familiar bible stories by spicing them up a little bit of humor. A whole lot of fun through humor. Investigate the timeless truths in these passages and explore. What we might have missed before. Hey friends just want to remind you. If you feel called support the show you can go to theon media dot com slash t bb f there. You'll find a link to our by me. Coffee dot com page and other ways to say. Thank you if you sign up for a recurring membership on by me. Coffee dot com which is just five dollars a month you will get access to the mad lib version of this episode with all the blinks that you and your friends can fill it in and make the flood story a lot more funny. Today's story is a mad lib. Which leg i just kind of explained is a store with a bunch of blinks each has a corresponding part of speech or a particular feature. So i wrote this story as a pretty faithful summary of what we find three chapters in genesis however i crowd sourced the blanks from twitter and random generators. So what comes out is a little bit different than you remember reading in sunday school without further. Ado let's get to the show. The world was now well populated but the lord. God was not interested. The lord saw the people's wickedness was so great and every thought of their skin was pure evil. This did not make god proud data these humans so god said i will blot out all humans that i created from the face of the land animals to especially that goat. I'm relieved that. I made these certain people however no and his family were the good guys around god. Clued noah in on the plan. I have decided to end all living things for the earth filled with so much violence. So make yourself an ark of colossal squid would make rooms inside of it. It should be five cubits long and twenty seven cubits wide and forty one cubits tall get a roof on it. Some various dax lounge area whole works. I will bring a flood of water onto the earth. And we are going to reboot this project but with yuna family. I'm grateful with so you will be safe by the way you're also going to save. Some animals. take thirty two of every kind of animal of the special clean animals and the birds take twenty seven pairs. So noah got to building. He stood mostly with the plans. But a decorative capybaras on the side of the ship looking at the finish arc. He was loyally surprised his work soon enough. The time was upon them. God called and said noah it's showtime. No one is family got into the juicy boats with all their animal pals soon though waterworks started the cliffs of the deep burst open rain poured from the sky. Then that rain fell forty nine days and forty nine nights. But noah his unnamed wife and kids sham having j v plus their spouses and then all the animals were safe in the archa archa. The ark was floating above even the tallest wrench. Everything that lived on. Dryland perished noah his family and the animal crew. Pretty much. all that was left. The cruise wasn't going to last forever. God did not forget about them. Luckily the lord pulled the drain. Cinta ludicrous wind to clear the water after sixty four months vessel landed on a mountain but the waters were still abating. So noah took one of the newts and sent it out in search of land. But i came back because it couldn't find a place to rest after seven days. No center out again this time. She came back with a chapel knees. Maple leaf no awaited another seven days and center out again. She never returned. It was now time to open the doors. With great strain know uncovered the arkan- put him in charge of traffic control. As all the animals started the stampede into the fresh ill informed earth now that the whole messy flood business was done. God said about declaring a covenant with noah god blessed noah told him to start multiplying on the earth then made a promise never destroy the earth by fairies again to seal the deal the lord sign in the sky and egg so all future generations would know the waters would never again destroy the world. Okay okay. i know this story might sound a little confusing. Let's focus on the actual story without other mad libs features god's center flood to clean up sinful planet today. The genesis flood doesn't really help god's pr. It seems kind of unnecessarily cruel. But let's focus on what the story wants us to focus on. God doesn't like sin but god does like righteous people. God goes through great lengths to protect the righteous people. Even though they don't always end up being perfect they never end up being perfect. I mean right after the flood. Noah messes up nevertheless god is faithful to those within god's covenant arrangement so all in all. The flood story is about god's love of goodness and god's commitment to thank you for listening to this episode of mobile but funnier be sure to join us next monday for another great episode. Whats Next for Quantum Computers

"Time for the second half of our two part. Quantum Wednesdays miniseries last week. We talked about cubits and entanglement which are two core concepts help you understand quantum computers. Once you understand those two ideas, then you can start playing around with quantum computers. And that is pretty exciting. Chris Bernhardt is a professor of mathematics at Fairfield university. And the author of the new book quantum computing for everyone. And here's what he says we hope to actually do with quantum computers now that we have them. One of the really exciting things is the IBM has put a a quantum computer in the cloud. An anyone complained with anyone can. Interact with it. It's got a nice graphical interface. So the way I see things moving forward now of that we're going to have teenagers high school. They'll learn a little bit of quantum computing, and they'll actually be able to play with a quantum computer. And what they'll do. I mean, it's difficult to tell. I mean, but once you once you go to tool, and you start experimenting there's going to be lots of things that people will find interesting, the IBM computer is called the IBM Q experience. And as of may twenty eighteen there are three processors two of them are five cubit processors, and the third is a sixteen cubit processor, and you can interact with it using simulations or you can actually run the computer actually store your program and running on the computer, let's get it at that. Because the state of the technology is really confusing because it seems like I've heard of companies that have like two thousand cubit machines. And then I hear about another company. That's like oh ours. Even more powerful, and it only has two cubits. And it's I don't really understand. How one is more powerful than the other year so alert confusion is through q waves, so q. Wave his got some computers with thousands of Cubans. But they're very special machines just design for solving very special problems on the question of whether they actually doing anything that a classical computer com to is is not clear, I think some people feel that anything you can do one of q waves computers, probably do with a classical, computer. But what Google's doing so, Google and other companies are developing quantum computers. Using far fewer cubits Google is working on a computer the supposed to have about seventy two cupid's. And this will be sort of a universal computer one that will tackle any problem too. You can program into it. And they expect probably. This year to announce that they've actually got a problem that this computer solved that a classical computer cannot solve. So this will be what's called the era of quantum supremacy. When this problem being solved on quantum computer that cannot be solved on a classical, computer. And of course, initially is probably going to be a highly contrived problem, Google, probably this year will some problem that's been sold in a quantum computer. That cannot be solved on a classical, computer. And then I imagined fairly shortly afterwards they're going to be actual practical applications probably to chemistry. Okay. So they're basically just going to you think they're going to design a problem just that's purely designed so that only quantum computer can solve it and not necessarily solve any other problem in the world. But then after that they're going to actually start solving the world's problems. Right, right. Yes. The first of the next step is to actually sold a problem that you cannot. Not sold on a classical, computer. That's the next step. I'm more of an educator. So what I'm really excited about is this little quantum, computer. IBM's put on the cloud that anyone could play with. So I I hope that new p- we're going to see kids playing on the quantum computer and coming up with their own little examples. This is much like what happened with classical computers. Suddenly we had these home computers when you can have a computer in your own home and start playing with it. So I think the same thing is just about here with quantum computers. Now that IBM's pretty on the cloud. But in terms of actual practical things, I think the first thing we're probably going to see is applications to chemistry where chemical reactions really fundamental level. A quantum phenomena to understand them. It makes a lot of sense to simulate them on a quantum computer. So at a very general level how much more powerful is a given Kwan. Dm computer like maybe the one that's on the cloud right now to this laptop. I have in front of me is that even a question that's answerable mode. It's really is not going to be so anything you could do on this quantum computer on the cloud. You can do on your laptop. It's not until you get up to about seventy was so Cubans you stop leak, it something that's much more powerful than a laptop. I'm the thing to remember about Cuba's each time, you add a cube it to your computer. You double the power, essentially. So in some sense, you think it's been two to power seventy two total number states. Now, the one you. Yeah. That's a good first approximation. I'm the other thing with a quantum computers. Is that you've got to do a lot of Eric correcting because they tend to interact with the atmosphere's errors creep in. So you gotta you gonna lose us a lot of Cubans to era. Correct. So it's not quite. Right. Doubling the power each time. You had a it because you could add more cubits to era.
