"And he goes up portion bill. Just pay it perfect nineteen ninety-seven baby. I love that. yeah Yeah it's it's it's really really the linda tripp. Show right now. You gotta really invested in linda tripp side of the story or i guess it's monica lewinsky side of the story of linda tripp. But i don't i. It's that's a show that announced the follow ups. You're like fuck. Yeah like vision. I put out a list of my favorite things ever to rewatch. people resolve. J. is just captured. It's such good absurd trash but also like really good television. And that's just a thing they're never going to recapture again. It just like be because like you like you didn't like like knowing up the oj case But then if you did it was even better. Because you're seeing however was cast like nathan lane is f lee bailey Can of toys lance ito exact like java all looked like anyone was oj yes which is unbelievable. They didn't look anything like the character they were playing and in close. Yeah that that show was was fucking amazing it was top of mind because obviously Nor mcdonald was basically taking off. Snl for making too many too many oj jokes there. Also good though. There's so funny man. Is this what talent man. He's going to be missed. He his if you've never seen the compilation of norm macdonald shitting on oj It is essentially the same joke over and over forty minutes you will laugh equally as hard every industry. It's forty minutes long. And just the one that i i pull that was. Oj simpson's lawyers decided to skip hearings on dna evidence. Go right to trial asked why they did this. The replied we want to get oj quitted as quickly as possible to get back to doing what he does. Best killing people which is again. I can't do adjust as norm doing that. Over and over forty minutes is it's it's another world's next level other trailers though. Marbles hawkeye jeremy renner notably. From the renner app. Jeremy renner app happy rennes day everyday. We didn't know you work for barstool not the renter app outright. Get in but i did follow that saga i. I was obsessed with the app. And i found you guys through the renton on discourse kendra. "All right. Thanks for hanging in with us. everyone It's time for our question of the day but before we get to it. I wanted to review the responses. From the one. I put out in our last episode. So here it is. If you're a call. I asked if i set the number of wins for the navy football team this year at six and a half. Are you taking the over. Or the under. And i will say that we had a bunch of people get back to us on this one I said i would read the names of everyone who took part in the poll. And i've definitely honor that. But i think for future questions given the high number this time around if this keeps up i think i'm just gonna go with reading up to five comments that really get my attention so with that being said. Here's everyone who went with the over and there were total of. I think thirty six people altogether. So kevin hayes. Paul gary ski. Brian merrin brian butler jeremiah. Macaroni kyle. Sikanda tom campbell. Megan scrivener tom. Mcmenemy andrew hamby might gibson bill brenner. i've got lisa lisa here William bailey tom mortenson kurt mcclurg low crow lee reinhard chris warren Jared gibbs john ownby jeff marine and jeff i apologize. That could be marine. Just wanted to you know. Put both pronunciations in their nydia. White men lee baker. Michael davis michael read. Nick diario keith. Boring bill brown michael clark. Martin co nine mike. Hagan james latent steve mckinney rennell bone and romeo read. So like i said. I think about thirty six people altogether Went with the over on that. As i could tell over half the respondents did vote before the marshall game with the rest deciding sometime between That one and the mid game this past saturday against air force next we have those who went with the under and those were paul bar. Brian good road. Jane sable Melanie who loves her dog. Otherwise known as melanie dougherty john cable. Charles spiker chris. Mcphail gary brent. Dick wilcox jeff johnson. Tracy clark david tyler jeff pence. Tom nicholas td smyers. Patrick gabriel and james kenneally So there's a total of seventeen or eighteen in that group I think we can all agree that the over is going to be super hard. It would mean the mid winning seven of the remaining ten games and that includes playing two teams currently ranked in the top fifteen Right now notre dame is ranked twelfth and cincinnati is ranked eighth. I'm not saying it can't happen but realistically that's going to be a real reach. I'd love to be wrong though. So who okay. Time for this week's question. This is simple. yes or no win or lose. Do you think the mid rushing attack will produce more than three hundred yards against houston Just as some background navy had three hundred over three hundred thirty yards against marshall but air force held them to thirty-six net yards on the ground. Which is about as bad as it gets so Three hundred yards would indicate that the rushing attack is getting there now of course the big question is do they convert in the red zone. Because that's going to be the big difference maker In any case. That's what i kind of wanted to focus on instead of just wins and losses right now because like i said i think they could be pretty tough to come by at least over the next few games. Okay we are in the home stretch here. So let's go ahead and push on through to our mid watch segment in our episode from a couple of weeks ago. We named the two athletes who focusing on in the fall and they were. Avery stole from the volleyball. Team and ashwin briggs from the Men's cross country team. We heard how the volleyball team finished up their non conference schedule and i think they've been really battle-tested as they get ready to start their patriot league scheduled this upcoming weekend. Every still has been a consistent performer over the first nine matches. She is second on the team and killed seventy six which puts her three behind team leader. Jamie llewellyn stole is also second on the team in points with ninety two and a half entitled third in service aces with six on defense as senior from your belinda. California is also one of the keys to the team's success. She ranks third and blocked with nineteen and she's also got thirty digs which is good for second among navies hitters. So as you can see still is right up there with the team leaders. In some pretty critical offensive and defensive categories that patriot league scheduled will be tough and having someone like her out there on. The court is got to be pretty reassuring. I always hear that term glue guy in sports these days. And that's kinda how i view her. She's definitely one of those players that helps keep a team together. And by the way. When i'm in annapolis over the columbus day weekend the meds will be playing two matches at wesley brownfield house and i plan to be there at both of them so i'm really looking forward to seeing them in action and i hope i get some pretty good photos to because i'm bringing my camera okay. Now what's going on with ashwin briggs from the men's cross country team As we've talked about the team is to a good start. And they won. Those first two meads but briggs did not compete in the first one. Because like i mentioned coach lens l. Went with fifteen freshmen and They pretty much ran away from everyone but in the navy twilight meet I mentioned at the team did sweep the first ten places and briggs did finish eighth. He completed the four point. Nine mile course in twenty minutes and just under fifty two seconds so we'll call it twenty four fifty one point nine five That works out to be a pretty blistering five minute pace. By the way which isn't easy to do over a bunch of rolling terrain that includes some pretty decent hills. Now as team captain briggs will be looking to keep the team focused over the next few weeks as the amidst compete in two more invitationals before that big star. Meet against army which takes place on october fifteenth. All right. that's going to do it for this edition of navy sports central. Thank you so much for joining us now. "The biggest entrepreneur destination on the planet. I'm Alex Wehrli. Welcome to business rock stars. Now let's go to mark lack. So how do you build a tribe in the community and profit from it? Joining us to elaborate on that as our guest Vincent? Dignity is the author of Secret Sauce and the founder of Magnifico, Vincent. Pleasure to have your brother. Good to be here. All right. So answer that question for us. Dumb it down. How do we take a tribe in the community? Build it. And then more importantly than that, right profit from it, so the common knowledge is give give give them take. So you used to be that you could write blog posts and eventually ask for things. I think that the age of the blog is dead. It used to be that you could get traffic from Facebook, Twitter and Google fairly easily. No one logs into Twitter anymore. It's dying. Facebook is continually napping page posts, and Google is harder than ever to get to the top of. So that begs the question. Where your blog post go, and I really think you should copy and paste your entire blog post. As your Facebook status update. Your passing. Facebook should be a professional Facebook into other people's groups where relevant And create your own community on Facebook. I really think this is the number one opportunity for people building their own tribe right now. So you start by inviting all of your friends that are relevant into the group, and I would do the group of a partner. So you have two people. This Facebook, not limit group posts like For example, if I have a Facebook fan page for somebody doesn't know, say, I've got 100,000 to keep a simple number. 100,000 likes slash followers on my Facebook fan page. My friend page And if I post something Facebook limits it to like 10% of those 100,000 actually going to see it unless I pay for my followers, which is so stupid. I have to pay for people that already following me. Um, but so my question is, Do they not do that in the Facebook private group? No. They nephew on pages because the whole business model is to get you to pay to get you to pay for Buzios, which can be a very effective strategy and tactic if you do it properly, But so that was my question is they don't do it in a private group, which is a key right now. In groups you can And even pay to boost posts. They may invent. So there's no way of doing you can't but so it is reaching 100% of the audience that happens to be there at the right time reaches A huge chunk of it. Engagement is really good in groups, plus the business page, you post something. What can you really do? They can comment on it. You can like it share it. That's it community. You do a good post. People start discussing it than other people do good posts. So we have good community management. Then you can grow that group in the right way and then itself perpetuates. So should I take my content on my fan page and go into a groups? I've got content understand page that I'm boosting. Should I go into these? 30 private groups that people have invited me into, which have half a million people in them across all 30 of them. And should I go in all 30 of those and share my fan page in there, so I get more likes comments and shares or at least I get more views that carry over into the video. I've just, uh it's great. No, no, Assuming its content, I would copy and paste the text in Fight like we don't share the video. Just copy and paste the Texas A separate post. Yeah, you can. You can put the video in stacking and view stacking, though, by carrying it over any other communities. Facebook will nephew if you if you're externally linking your external link linking, uploaded a video natively interview, you can share it to a group. Yeah, the video natively and my fan page. So it's native, not an external link, And then I'm boosting that to a targeted audience and then because the views carry over if I shared across 30 communities, I could get an extra 2030 40 50,000 views that stack on the video. The likes and the comments won't stack unless they go to the actual video. But the views the views would stack exactly Okay, and if it's good, quite good content. Saying that the strategy copy. Yeah. All groups need good content. And if you're starting at zero, if you had a page would have to pay to grow it. Now, If you invite someone to like your page, they can say yes or no to even see it. You invite something to group there Anybody fault they have to opt out. So you and your co founder, both of like 600, people on the first day, you know 10% or so we'll opt out straight away. But then that group has 1000 people in it. So these your friends or are you just straight up inside with the friends with your friends? And then from there, you just go and start randomly friending people into the groups and not necessarily you can invite people who you aren't friends on Facebook like email, one by one, the very slow process, But it's more the case. Of YouTube giveaways in the group. So we've got an e book on how to do cold selling on LinkedIn. Um invite 15 friends and we will get we will send you it and then click done. Yeah. So It grows itself and people. I only invited relevant people. So the groups is a strategy that you've really capitalized on this Facebook group specifically so we, Me and my co founder of the group, Charlie, So he does copy. I do traffic routes for trafficking Copy. It's three weeks old 2.5 1000 people in the group. Every single post has four or five comments, which is really good for Facebook groups. Um, and now we have an asset when we roll out our next webinar next book as the admins of the group. We're going to have Brilliant page rank in that group as the admitted a group. You can also send post by a Buffalo who's sweet on a Sunday night. I have all my post lined up. So I have a super engaged community in the trafficking copy niche so instead amazing free tools. People are saying it could even replace A lot of cold calling and cold emailing just having private groups just having a private groups that people like cult of copy, So you're bringing them in with the intention of adding massive value, nurturing the majority of leads. I forgot the exact scale, but I think it's pretty accurate that 2 to 3% of people in any target niche are ready to buy whatever you're offering now and 17 to 20% are ready to buy in the next 60 to 90 to 120 days. Those are what we have in nurturing funnel for, and then the other 90%. Approximately, actually, 80% approximately, are The device and the next year. This is whether it's a car a house, choose Whatever brand new coat people are ready to buy in that type of model. So you want to sell to the 2 to 3% of your community? Yeah, and then you want to also have the community as a whole, which is nurturing the other 80% Right. So great model is the color of copy Brilliant post on copy Brilliant Facebook group. He makes $300,000 from that once a month, he does a webinar and it's $100 to watch it live and you can ask questions Life or if you don't pay it live. It's $200 to buy the webinar. Afterwards, and it sounds like you're saying for the content but also watching how he strategically inelegantly goes through the process of Yes, I know you're.

Alex Wehrli $100 $200 $300,000 2 17 10% Facebook 100% LinkedIn Google Twitter 30 communities 90% 1000 people YouTube 100,000 Vincent 30 Sunday night

Oh i'm glad i'm happy to do it. And i hope to and the thing. I hope people take like. You need to agree with us all the time or we're saying like if you don't understand what we're saying fuck which point is we could just easily be wrong. Sometimes you know. This is the thought process. We're being ourselves. We're being honest or some of that is like you know over the years i started things. Are you like. Actually you know. Not think about this. I i i think this is more correct or i'll find myself disagreeing with old things. I thought or whatever the thing we do here that i hope people can take from it. Is this being honest and authentic. That's the part of our people take from me. Is you know you don't have to front for everybody else. Just say whatever's gonna make people feel good as long as it's not coming from a mean callous place or something that's okay yes okay. It'll be like i'm not comfortable. "Anyway one guy was like i see it more like the wwe where the winners are women. I said i would. And i was like. I'm not even gonna engage with this guy because it's just going to open up a can of worms and i don't want to but that's exactly what i was saying. I was like you know funny in the. Wwe the people who are playing are in on the. They're in on it. We're not saying that production sort of skews things for certain people okay. That might be true. But i certainly wasn't in on any secret manipulation and that way i think it's a good reminder you remember that i see it online. Sometimes that buddha quote it's like about how to gauge whether you should say something and it's especially true on the internet it's like i don't know this tell me new you'll be the perfect person to come to for this like you're supposed to ask yourself. Is it true what i'm about to say. Is it necessary. ending right. is it kind. Yeah is it true. Is it necessary. And is kind is kind and all those knifings a fucking. Psa the next talk do. That's what we're gonna do stairs talk teaching teaching internet manners again. I can't they. I mean nobody's doing that. Nobody's asking even one of those questions but we really should just pause for a minute. But here's the thing. We're preaching to the choir. The people that need to hear this aren't listening to bring him. Yeah we need to get on. The joe rogan podcast. How do we do that right. Yeah let's talk to those guys. They they could learn a few manners. Oh man it just it. It can get in your head. It does a little like it gets it. It gets how do i. I'm aware of the potential of it getting in my head. I'm aware of how it like. I can see it happening. You know yeah. But i am. So i'm not taking the bait. And i and then i just went through and i was like you know what i'm just going to use the power of blocking people and deleting and you don't have any space for that so bye bye bye fun. I get tagged and stuff sometimes on twitter As soon as i see that it's about the challenge mute the whole conversation. So i don't continue to see it but people will say like she's never like been held accountable for this thing or that thing and she's never apologized. Meanwhile we've done that on the show. It's just like you said we actually have just because you haven't heard it doesn't mean we didn't do it right. Yeah oh my god you you and you should be ashamed of yourself or how you treated. Yvonne do you want to asha von about that. The one who commented like five comments up with the hearts and the love you like her. You mean her. Are we going like from how things were back there. "Is what we would call medical misinformation right. Despite the fact that it only gets applied when it's something that we say script to get more people vaccinated said well over the number again. I remind myself. Three hundred fifty million americans have already been vaccinated. They're doing fine fine fine. Why feel better right. They're doing fine right joe. Some people die doing fine. You know it's so funny but here here's what's a just for fun idea right there. Okay so we have three hundred twenty eight million people make sure you guys are seeing that close that real quick three hundred twenty eight million people in the united states and biden says three hundred and fifty million people are vaccinated now. I don't even know where you would get. Where three fifty coming from right. There would claim over five hundred. Six hundred thousand have died which is completely falls based on the obvious reality that some of that's not accurate based even at their own admission but they don't want to connect those things or cases. I don't even know where did that come from. It's just such an interesting thing for them to spit out and no-one corrects nothing. You know all my little pocket number. That i'm gonna not claim correctly. It's just crazy that but you know. Are we gonna point that out and be like fake news. I mean i'm sure somebody covered it and said oh. What a gaffe biden. He made a mistake. he was talking about something else. Well see the difference. Is we tell you things that are vac. based we can prove and we get censored for misinformation. He'll say things constantly wrong and it's just a chuckle. An old joe you know. He's struggling just crazy to me but obviously still half the country's unvaccinated despite what they want to scream at you and force you into this is the reality. Now one more point on this censorship topic and i'll show you some more censorship. I wanted to reiterate this point by the way that gateway pundit at the very least corrected their mistake and no sort of pointed last american bag bond but then still left the wrong video and this is in regard to the thing we caught on this show and basically went viral because info wars stole it and then shared it as their own work putting their own tag on the video as you can clearly see. This is my video with my highlights. But here's what's interesting. He corrected it caught cots. Abc deletes it. No you didn't do anything. You stole my work but the point is they just removed the video because this is because info wars is not on your side guys if they're only trying to do this to their own benefit and they look if they wanted to make this correct all post my video or the clippers star made which is the exact same information but they'd rather just remove the one that has forty-five comments underneath that. Says you stole from ryan ryan. And that's why they probably removed it because they're just trying to keep the flow going without pointing to anyone other than themselves in people that are towing their line not the truth but their party line.

"Of course was sixteen for twenty five so obviously he was much more efficient. And excuse me on a gay on the biggest stage. He went out there on a very poor free throw shooter and his seventeen of nineteen. Thank you chris. Paul's post game. Five comments that may be motivating but my point is a jaanus just did more overall and i would even and i've said this stick by this. I have long saying that magic johnson's game six in nineteen eighty was the best individual performance in nba history. And i'm gonna stick by it. And and the reason i give it that even though i'll say giannis had the best game on the close out was because of everything around the game magic being rookie a twenty year old rookie. His teammate karim. Who was injured was the mvp of the league that year. He's going against dr j. one of his idols and iconic philadelphia. Seventy sixers team so all of that. Can you imagine if a twenty year old rookie with forty two fifteen boards seven assists and i think four steals play jumping center in the nba finals. I mean we will be crowded. It would be ridiculous. The hype around him. So i think with all the stage with everything that was going on around that game. I give magic the edge in that. But the reason i say janas performance last night could even top that is be just from a basketball since. Forget the age and you know the plan dr j. and all that is that magic to your point got help. Jamaal wilkes is a hall of famer scored. Thirty seven points had ten ten. Are you two minutes right. You know magic was great but he also had great play elsewhere. Where's jaanus and to your point. Jordan did not have that. Yeah not only that if just even go back to that that magic point the whole if could a twenty year old do it today. No because magic is legendary and. I'm glad that this actually has come up because maybe this now gets us back. It's a judge in light top ten or goats or whatever people want to call it properly because for some reason magic keeps getting knocked down but we forget he was twelve mankato. Cb you watch you. You're in this industry. I'm in we hear this stuff now. You kidding me. He gets knocked down. I've seen again. Let's lo is their consensus. Best point guard ever. I live in the top five. Don't include magic johnson. I've seen plenty of them. I mean for real yes. of course. I've seen plenty of them. I have yeah. I've seen i've seen plenty of my point is. Is that no tears to your first question. No twenty euro could do not twenty or on the planet. That could come in and do that right now. Because there's not a twenty year old and a planet that's magic johnson. He's legendary that's number one number two. You already covered it. I was gonna touch on. It looks game. Thirty seven at ten and forty two minutes. He also has kareem on that team. And i know creams cream is engine. Crane is out that that laker team is still a very very very good basketball team. Back to the point. Where i i still have questions about. Middleton this one series or a few shots here near these playoffs. Do not clear for me. I still feel how i feel about him. I still feel about that raises. Est i understand. I understand that but also got help in different ways. That jordan did not get help in his closed. Be portis even before that much. Love who me. I mean come on..

"In fact one of the talkers worked a at a paint company. Wrote up a marketing plan. The director of marketing. Shell didn't even let him finish and then he got fired for this. I think we covered this story a while back. But then what ended up happening once. He decided to become a full-time creator. And i think that was just a really bone headed move on the company's part and that. Cmo's part you should be embracing that because you would sell a ton of paint and have people calling in to say you know. How do i miss this. And that what can they mix with an right along. We don't know that you can do custom mixes like that and people will help you to write. They think you just go to bear and you get the pre made ones you can actually do custom mixes so is was one thing that like a lot of people are learning on that sundsvall. Yeah so let's look at the guac dance by Second year so this one here. "I'm fats. I don't see the word fat when you are when when when people are describing themselves as fat. I don't see it as a I don't see it as degrading but when other people are using fat to describe someone who is that they need it venomous way. And i can tell when you're being a jerk about it but also being fats and being black as earned me quite a few ridiculous interactions with people online who are just looking to seek attention from someone who's doing something positive and It's it's not always It's not always easy to ignore or to not be hurt by those kinds of things. But i think for me especially blackhaws players. In general the community has shown up for me in ways that have been able to continue to encourage me when it comes to play at. The root of everything mock. You asked me before. What joy do i get from cast playing at the root of everything icons display for me so my joy the fact that my joy does not stem from external validation It comes from the fact that. I'm happy that i made a thing. That looks exactly the way that i wanted to. That's what keeps me grounded when those ridiculous comments come in. But i will not discount the fact that with people defend black cost players. When people defend plus sized cost players or non straight size nontraditional or noncanonical. Qasr players of it does help it. Soothes. it soothes the pain that comes with being in the public eye and sold. The community is really good at that. A lot of the mean comments usually come from people who are outside of the community. They just see a picture on instagram. Where they see a video on tiktok that may show on there for you page that they weren't specifically looking for and they're like you know what today's the day that i'm going to jerk in for me. That's not a knee problem. That's the problem. I don't know what happened to you today. Made you feel like you had to say something to discredit someone else's hard work in order for you to feel good today but past the initial pain of out. Schwab do say that to me. I'm moving onto the next costly. I'd moving on because i can't. I can't allow someone who doesn't know how hard i've worked to Player to steal the joy that i get from. It's not easy to make. Lee sings and to put yourself out there. In to create content people don't create content. Don't know how hard it is to cook those things together for a targeted audience. And so i don't have time to break down and be like i'm not gonna cause play anymore because i've worked to art of worked entirely too hard so i will keep going. It's nice to have the community support. But again i honestly for me. All the I don't wanna by the way where. I just wanna talk to come to talk about our Raises suck and how all that. I mean earlier not and i think it was last night. There was a costs who headed amazing. Message about our You should really be doing with black. History even does any month in general but especially towards the blackhawks players and black history month. And she's like you're not really going to get anything out of trying. Do argue or give the attention to these trolls that that those bald they want. They want you to respond. They want you to break down. It's not even that of anger for most farted. Seems like they just think they're very funny. Yes yes thinking very humorous. If i say these racial slurs or if i it just kind of arrive annoy you to death and i mean yeah in your example of people. The community coming together. That's something that i think is just amazing that i think people tend overlook about the internet. It's always the bad things but when you see something like that there are people from all over the world and all over the us that disappointed some people. There's going to be that community that there is spread out willing to help each other willing lift each other That's something beautiful about the now. Earning even the trolls. I mean that's the other thing is that i from what i gather with all the blackhawks words i've interviewed. Most these mean people they'll A go online and do it. They don't experience this in person at cons. Now get the reason. Why is because all these guys are scaredy cat sway. It's all animus. He does get pitcher. You don't even get much detail. That person is because they know that i it especially. They're trying to mess with someone falling. That's going to be there. But if they reveal. What that person's. Because i mean this support for some costlier than source strong. They even have teams dedicated. Buying who this person is and sometimes it can get crazy. I don't support bullying trolls either. Support checking trolls in making sure that they are held accountable for their actions But honestly you are absolutely correct in saying that if if you attempt to run up on me atacan with a racial slur will regret it and not just for me. Because i don't i when i go to I roll folks. Who have my back. And in general most people who go to conventions are looking to have a good time. They just want to socialize with other people like them. So if you're coming in here and causing problems you're not gonna just catch it from me. You're going to catch it from other congo irs. Who are pissed that you've come into their space to create toxicology anger and disappointment. So do not suggest any of these trolls. You know attempts to say any of the things that they say online to black hospital specifically at a personal kind. Because you don't you don't you don't want that problem you really do And they know that that's why anonymity is a shoe for them. I think as far as what's blackhawks players are focusing on especially right now in black history month where it seems like the racism is proliferating at a faster rate which i do not understand. I always when i'm encouraging other players. Who are going through cyber bullying especially when it comes to racist things i always remind them. To quantify not qualify. And what i mean by that is for every five racist comments that you get on a cost play posted yours remember that there are twenty five comments praising your work in value in you as a costlier not just the blackhawks player or the black version of that character as a player in general created content that somebody loved. It's very difficult. Because our the way our human brains are trained we.

The M one mark three. Now the only rule was that we didn't violate the embargo in other words. We didn't talk about the camera before we were supposed to Which was really unfortunate timing for me because they lifted the embargo on Wednesday morning about one. Am and you know. The podcast publishes Tuesday so I just missed it by that much but you know as it turned out. I'm kind of happy about that now because we've all had a chance to look at the various reviews of the em one. Mark Three by the other folks on the bus and now I get a chance to sort of talk about some of the issues that they brought up so it all worked out right. It all worked out. There was a moment on the bus and I was talking with a fellow journalists that I realized how the reviews were going to go for the camera. He was disappointed with the not updated censor As are many reviewers the comparatively low resolution. Lcd is one million dots. The non state of the art of Electronic Viewfinder two point three six million dollars the lackluster performance of AF tracking. And what they said was the relatively high price for a small sensor camera which is one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine dollars. Those are some of the things that I was hearing on the bus and I wasn't hearing a lot of discussion about the other aspects of the camera of which there are many so I'm going okay. So my approach was while I was there. I'm not an apologist for Olympus nor any other brands so I didn't feel the need to defend the camera or defend them or really defend anything. But I did offer a few tips because I have experienced with the mark to with the pen. F with practically every Olympus camera in the Mirror era. I just left it at that. Offered my tips and left it at that. But I decided what I would do is lead off this review addressing those five comments and again. There are things that we have seen in reviews published over the last week. Then we'll get onto the stuff that I like so I guess the way the mood that I'm in today. Is that as a kid? There were nights where I just ate the vegetables I the soggy cauliflower the Stinky Broccoli. You know whatever it happened to be just get it out of the way and then. I could really enjoy the mashed potatoes and hamburger okay. That's what I'm GONNA do today. We're going to have some overcooked cauliflower. I already now before I get into the specifics. I do want to make a general comment. About Olympus the Olympic mindset that I've learned over the years of working with them in their cameras and what they do as in my opinion is they take a very holistic approach to the devices they build and they will live and die by those choices in other words. I never got the feeling that they were looking so much at the individual components the sensor or the electronic viewfinder whatever in isolation in other words them saying we have to. Have you know the top of the Line Electric Viewfinder in our flagship camera? We have to the top of the line. Lcd If the have you know a brand new sensor every time. I never got the impression from them that that's the way that they think the way that I see them working is that they designed the camera and they're looking at the whole camera. They're looking how everything works with each other in the camera and interacts with the system. And what they WANNA do is create an experience that I think is unique to what other manufacturers are making. I don't feel that they are individual component driven as much as they are experienced driven and I sort of sum up the Olympus Approach to photography with what I call the three CS. Now these are mine. Not There's however I will live and die by three CS just like they will buy their cameras and I think there's design. Principles are driven by compact creative and capable. Those are the sort of words that I kind of here here and there from them and that I get when I work with their devices so keeping those three C.'s. In mind compact creative incapable. Let's take a look at some of the complaints or the most common criticisms of the mark. Three at the top of the list is the non updated twenty point. Four megapixel live moss micro four thirds sensor when Olympus debuted this sensor in September two thousand sixteen and that was in the em one mark to is scored the highest according to the EXO mark of any for third sensors Edging out the Panasonic Competition and the twenty point three sensor that they had just launched in the NF earlier in the year so it was the top of the line. Four third sensor in September two thousand sixteen when it came out now that same twenty point four chip is in the M one mark three but the difference is that the mark three has a true pick nine image processor compared to the true pick eight found in the and one mark to and in fact even in the an one x they are true pick eight processors but there's two of them so there's a there's a little horsepower there right but They are true. Pick eight and nine so at the moment the mark three is the only camera has the true pick nine in it by the way the that launched earlier in two thousand sixteen has the true. Pick seven in there now. I can say that after shooting with all three cameras. My view is that it's the processor not the sensor that we should be focusing with the mark three and I talked a little bit about this sort of stuff in last week's podcast. I mean if you think about the evolution of smartphone cameras and where the real progress is made from you know iteration to iteration a lot of that progress in the computing power in the software. Not so much the sensor itself and I think that's where the upgrade is for the mark three now would I love new sensor in the? Em One right yes. Of course I mean we always would. I'm not going to say no to. It is like saying one hundred dollars you know slipped under my front door. Of course I would. I would take that. And when they do come out with a new sensor which I know they will at some point. We'll all put on lamp shades and run around the House with arms waving in the air of course but at the moment. I don't think that this camera the mark three should live and die by this twenty megapixel sensor that has been a proven good censor. I think we should look however at the processor. That's powering all these unique functions that this camera can do so you know. That's my take on the non updated sensor. Yes I would love to have a new sensor. I am not crestfallen because we don't next complaint. The three inch one point zero three seven million dot very angle touchscreen. I heard a little bit of carping about this and you know I will agree that reviewing images on the mark three is not quite as lovely as let's say the Sony a seven Armar Four. That has a three inch. One point. Four four million dot rear. Lcd
