Better ideas better, Um, you know better everything and it's a guys like LeBron and staff. They commit their whole life to that. You know, they extend their They're they're They're career years. You know they're sweet spots for by several extra years. It's really something to watch. You know, they say your twenties is a lot about your talent. Your thirties is a lot about you and your work ethic and And, you know, can you keep it going? You know, I saw Bob Meyers said that he felt like you guys need veterans and that you'd like to add veterans and free agency. Where do you feel like this roster Needs of veteran or to Steve? And are you the kind of guy that are your was part of the plan in the off season? Do you? Do you pick up the phone and be like Hey, you know, you know, after talking with Bob, Hey, we want this guy, and now you're gonna go recruit him. I mean, our two head coaches get involved in recruiting veteran free agents. Oh, yeah, For sure, Sure, I'll do that. You know, it's uh, It's something we're planning on this summer, and we've done it in the past. But I think getting playback this year and everybody watching Staff and dream on this past season. I just think we're more likely to be in the game on a few guys, And so we will. We'll all be on the phone once we know what's what. And we wait. Target a couple of guys and at this point we don't know who those guys were gonna be. But we do have Ah, really good. Sense of of what we need, You know, just based on this this past season and how our team played as a group. You know, we talked and I said we used to do like kind of stuff. Appreciation. I was, like, done what? That after a while because I couldn't talk. What do you mean by saying the same thing over and over, But I would like you to say a couple words Aundre Mom because you mentioned Dreamin on how key he was. And I just think I don't know if I've ever seen a guy impact the game that averages like seven points a game. The way The way he does. I mean, it is. It's truly amazing to watch him out there and his mind working and running the offense and running the defense and helping guys out getting him in the right spot. I mean, I g. You know, I've seen it all the time. He points guys in the right direction. And then all of a sudden the play opens up. He knows exactly where they should be. And what the defense Is doing and he's just a guy that numbers do not jump out of you, except for the assist numbers for power forward slash slash center, But just a few words on him because I think he he is just an amazing player. He's such a unique player in what he brings. To the game, and not many people can Actually dominated game without scoring double digits. Well, he is, um he's unique. You know, He's the only guy that I've ever seen who could dominate the game without scoring it all with Dennis Rodman on and Dream on is Similar to Dennis you defensively in that he can control A game by just how willing everybody and guarding all five spots on the floor. But dreamers a lot better than Robin was offensively just because he handles the ball so much needs to get past her and kind of runs the team for for us, and you know, his pick and roll game was staff is so unique and those guys just have such a good feel for each other. The way they operate the way they'll invert the screen. Give give dream on the ball enough Stef screen and then you know, turn that into kind of a quick give and go. And it Z really beautiful to watch. But I was I was just really happy for dream on. You know, last season was tough for him to. He was used to call him along to Bible, you know, with It was playing step both being out. I mean, the poor guy was out there by himself half the time and he was so frustrating for him. So I was really happy for dream and he just had a fantastic year and re established himself as a great player in this league, And then the exciting thing is he really wants To, uh, to win a title. He really wants T back in the you know, back in the in the limelight as a group of the team and he's so motivated this summer and And I think you know we're all from that We didn't make the playoffs. But, you know, we have to look on the bright side, Which is that our teams and you know, really good frame of mind. We're going to be, you know, knock on wood gonna be healthy going into camp and and we re established that that connection between dream on and step, which is Really The, uh you know what the rest of our team revolves around so Very exciting. Let me ask it quick because you mentioned Rodman and you played with him. So you would know. I've always contended that he was a much better player. All around player than he ever showed because he loved the rebounding and he was getting all the notoriety in the pub for the rebounding. So he didn't want that any any other numbers to take away from his rebounding numbers Because I thought he had more to his game. Offensively, he wasn't gonna be a 20 point score, but I think you could've scored 10. And he was he was a pretty good passer like you watch him out there. He made some nice passes, but it was almost like every time he touched the boy just goes. Get it out of my hands. I just all I wanna do is go chase the basketball. That's what I do. That's all I'm going to do, And I always thought you know what? Instead of averaging 18 the half rebounds, he pregnant average 16 rebounds. Head points and five assists. We're gonna be talking about a bunch of the NBA playoff games. But the Clippers based on what happened to them last year, blowing a 31 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. You know, Paul George has just this this playoff wait that just kind of falls down upon him during the postseason. And you wonder at what point the Clippers and I know it's just one game. But you you're at home. You lose by 10 to the Mavericks. I mean, there are some things that they have to fight through it overcome more than just Luca Dockage. And the Dallas Mavericks. No doubt it's tough, especially losing that first home game like it ZWAH game. Ultimately, you gotta win forward to advance. So it's not the end of the world. But that home court advantage now shifts to Dallas, and it's more. It's not even about the home court advantage. Is Maura about the mental side of it, right? Because if you're the Clippers you go. I know what happened last year. We can't have that happen again. Now you're down a one Does you know this doubt? Start to creep in. Are you like all here we go now. Are you trying to play outside of yourself? And I think there's something that you had to worry about. But as deepest the Western conference is that you need those guys. And look, they're not gonna play spectacular every single night. But you need them to be good to great rather than just Yeah, that maybe they didn't find there was okay. Those two need to really carry the load because otherwise you're just going to be. The other guy here that I really wanted to take some time to talk about is Scottie Barnes. And Scotty was interesting over the weekend. They kind of blew out Colorado late in that game to get to the sweet sixteen and then against unc-greensboro. There's a weird game like it felt like they were in full control the whole time while being like two and half to three possessions ahead of them on the scoreline. The whole game Scottie Barnes has taken four shots so far in the NCAA tournament as well to that has it really decided to go for it on offense yet. He's got ten points. He also was really good against Colorado. I thought like six points, but he had five assists. He had three steals. He was great defensively only played twenty two minutes and only wage like had one foul. So like it's not like he was in foul trouble the whole game or anything, but I thought the minutes that he played were really strong like the the line-ups that they were running out with just Him and Raekwon gray like those lineups dog. Monsters it is so hard to deal with those small ball Florida state line-ups that are bigger and longer than you are almost regardless of the time with just those two but also wage war in the five are essentially the point guards who bring the ball up the court with Raekwon gray and Scottie Barnes, like it's a total inversion of how they run things are how most teams run things. Yeah. It doesn't make a ton of sense on page and Raekwon gray is coming off ball screens. And then you have Scottie Barnes kind of playing point guard and can switch one through five defensively. He can rotate he's super versatile defensively covering ground and switching back to me by far his best skill. The offense scares me. I know it's only been four shots and he tried to get the ball more early into the post with balls that had 13 points that first game hundred Seventeen and seven. It's more the the ball skills and the perimeter when he's Dumbledore trapped get a bad turnover on advance past against unc-greensboro had a turnover late when he turned his back. Can and try to play point guard and Isaiah Miller from unc-greensboro is an also a monster albeit a smaller monster, especially defensively if he does that but they lost possession. They're really still like him back in in the dumps pot and making plays from the mid-post That Elbow if they do some big debate ball screen stuff off there. He's great. It's just the him trying to be a point guard. It's not always him being home theatre cuz I bring the ball up in as soon as he crosses half-court hits away and Dives. So it's like it's not even really point guard type stuff, but I just don't love it when he has the freedom to kind of try to create a play-off. I like him more as like a second option guy, maybe coming off a screen attacking versus shifting defense rather than like, we're going to give him the ball and have him run the offense. Yeah off Scotty is to me a really high level role player and that's like people are going to take that the wrong way. I hope they don't like I think Scotty Barnes can be like a Top fifty player. NBA is a role player, but I think that's what he is. Like I don't I don't see enough creation skill for having said that like there were some flashes against Colorado even though he's taken four shots and 45 minutes or whatever and rented a tournament..
