A highlight from ANTI BITCOIN BOB MENENDEZ CHARGED! SEC GARY GENSLER DOESN'T LIKE THE LAW (CRYPTO NEWS)

"Welcome back to the Thinking Crypto Podcast, your home for cryptocurrency news and interviews. If you are new here, please hit that subscribe button as well as the thumbs up button and leave a comment below. If you're listening on a podcast platform such as Spotify, Apple or Google, please leave a five star rating and review. It supports the podcast and it doesn't cost you anything. Well, folks, we got very interesting news, which I'm sure many of you may have heard in the mainstream media, and that is Senator Bob Menendez has been charged with bribery and a whole bunch of other crimes. And you may say, well, Tony, why are you talking about this? Right. Well, folks, Senator Bob Menendez, who is a Democrat, he introduced a bill back in 2022, which would help to stop Bitcoin adoption in El Salvador. And he was citing that the adoption would open the door for money laundering and corruption. Wow. Talk about hypocrisy, folks, right? This guy all along for a very long time, his track record, he's been accused of doing a lot of shady stuff and now he's being charged here. The folks at Bitcoin Archive said the senator who said Bitcoin can open the doors of corruption in El Salvador was just indicted for corruption by federal prosecutors who seized one hundred thousand dollars in gold bars and four hundred and eighty thousand dollars in hidden cash from his home. So politicians those who are often very loud and screaming against crypto are the ones who have a lot to lose and a lot to hide, who are probably doing shady stuff. For example, Elizabeth Warren, Brad Sherman, Gary Gensler, right? I'm sure they've got some really nasty stuff in their closet. And some folks have shown that Elizabeth Warren has a net worth of seventy three million dollars. And of course, her salary is just like two hundred and eighty thousand a year. That's a great amount of wealth she's accumulated from just a senator's salary, right, folks? But we know the game, right? This is why we got to keep fighting and we got to expose these corrupt bureaucrats and politicians like Elizabeth Warren and Brad Sherman. We know they are puppets on the string doing a lot of the bidding of the tradfi incumbents and people who would love to kill crypto and not just even kill crypto, but just stop or kill the startups and allow their banking buddies and Wall Street buddies to come in and take over. So I'm glad these folks are getting exposed. And President Nayib Bukele, who, of course, he's the president of El Salvador, he tweeted about this news. He said, this is the guy that called for an investigation against us. He ended up being charged, period. So I'm glad he's doing a victory lap there. Now we got some interesting news about a library in the SEC. So we had reported just about a week and a half ago or two weeks ago that library was going to file an appeal. And this is based on the Ripple lawsuit outcome. Right. It makes sense. We have new case law with XRP, so it makes sense for them to appeal. And the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston has directed library to file its brief by November 1st, 2023. Now of course, this is no guarantee they're going to win. But the point is, we want to put the pressure on the SEC and Gary Gensler. We want to expose them for their lies, hypocrisy and much more. So I'm glad library is doing this. Attorney Jeremy Hogan highlighted a video here with Gary Gensler being interviewed. And it just shows his hypocrisy that he doesn't care about the law. He just cares about his own power and his next job. And it's no wonder Judge Sarah Netburn said the SEC has no faithful allegiance to the law. So he says the crypto space is full of hucksters and noncompliance. Well, the reporter asked them, would anything a court says change your mind? Great question. Gensler said, well, no, not really. And of course, he looked very shaky. He's losing confidence. And Attorney Jeremy Hogan said, you can't make this stuff up. So clearly, this man has no respect for the law. He's just making things up as he goes. It's about his show, his power, his ego. And we can't have that, folks. This guy's supported by our tax dollar. He should be kicked to the streets. And I'm telling you, I hope that Coinbase mops the floor with his buffoon and the SEC so that he has so much pressure on him. He's forced to resign. I'm hoping that happens. Now, Stuart Aldarati highlighted that same video. And here's what he had to say. What's most concerning to me and should be to you in the full video clip, this is the shocking admission of an unelected bureaucrat that he won't respect the decisions of the courts. So I'm thankful for the judicial branch and the balances we have in the government that a corrupt scumbag regulator like Gary Gensler, as much as he can go around saying all kinds of nonsense and nasty stuff, he has to respect the courts in a sense of what they put out there. Right. The SEC has to abide by that. Now, he may not personally agree, and he can, you know, like in this interview, say, oh, no, I don't agree with anything. But at the end of the day, if he takes a loss, he takes a loss. Right. So we got to keep fighting. I'm hoping the industry keeps fighting back as well. Now, quick word from our sponsor, and that is Uphold, which is a great crypto exchange that I've been using since twenty eighteen. I've interviewed their CEO and many representatives so I can vouch for this platform. They have ten plus million users, two hundred and fifty plus crypto currencies, and they're available in one hundred and fifty countries. You can also trade precious metals and thirty seven fiat currencies so you can switch between these different currencies and crypto and precious metals at a click of a button. So it's a unique platform and they've been around for a long time. Once again, I can vouch for this platform. So if you'd like to learn more, please visit the link in the description. All right. Let's move ahead. Caitlin Long was at Mainnet and she was tweeting out some of the statements coming out of Mainnet. I was at Mainnet yesterday and I met her. I tweeted out a photo of us together. I was supposed to go on Wednesday as well, but I wasn't feeling too hot. So stayed home that day. But, you know, there was a lot of folks there. And Brian Armstrong, CEO, was there. He said the Biden administration has been terrible for crypto. Well, that's to say the least, right? That's an understatement. They've been horrendous, in my opinion. Caitlin also highlighted that 61 percent of pro -crypto voters actually this is she's highlighting what Chris Lee Hain had to say, that 61 percent of pro -crypto voters in 2020 voted for Biden. Democrats are at risk of losing them in 2024 due to anti -crypto policy. Absolutely right. And these Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot. Patrick Hanson of Circle highlighted the following, that the euro stablecoin, obviously Circle issues USDC, but they also have the euro stablecoin and it's now EURC instead of EUROC. So just an update there. So the euro coin is now EURC. So just heads up on that, folks. And I want to highlight something I tweeted out today, and I think it's important. And, you know, all emotions aside, all feelings aside, I was highlighting that I'm very bullish on Ethereum for the 2024 -2025 bull market. Now this is, once again, all emotions and feelings about Bill Hinman and Joe Lubin aside, I still want those guys to be held accountable. But as for the token and the code, it's getting adoption. And I highlight that PayPal is building their stablecoin in Ethereum, right, PYUSD, Citibank's token is built on Ethereum. JP Morgan is working on a deposit token, which is built on Onyx, which is a permissioned version of the Ethereum blockchain. Coinbase is obviously launching base, which is their layer two for Ethereum, or they have launched it, I should say. And there's a rise in institutional ETH staking. So I'm very bullish on ETH and this type of news, these facts now, not my feelings, not my opinions, but these facts of adoption from very big companies and brands has me very bullish on Ethereum. I obviously hold ETH in my portfolio. I stake it and I continue to buy the dip, not financial advice. You should do your own research. And obviously I'm not just bullish on ETH alone, but just there's been a lot of adoption. And I want to highlight that because it's about facts, not feelings now. And I'm bullish on Bitcoin, XRP, Chainlink and many other tokens. Let's talk about Core Scientific, which is a Bitcoin mining company. So Core Scientific sealed $77 million Bitmain deal for 27 ,000 Bitcoin mining rigs. The deal was first finalized in August with Anchorage as another party agreeing to an equity stake in the bankrupt crypto miner. So one of the key things is that BlackRock also gave them a bit of money. Guys, this was back in 2022. So it's kind of like to the Victor goes to spoils where Bitmain was in trouble and then a whole bunch of folks started coming in to grab up as much as they can. So the deal between the two mining companies will see Bitmain supply 27 ,000 Bitcoin mining rigs for $23 million in cash, along with $53 .9 million worth of common stock of the bankrupt firm. Apart from the mining hardware purchase deal, Bitmain and Core Scientific have signed a new hosting agreement to assist Bitmain's mining operations. The deal was finalized in August when a court filing highlighted Bitmain's plan to sell mining hardware in exchange for cash and equity. As part of Core Scientific's restructuring plan, apart from Bitmain, the restructuring plan also included Anchorage. And you guys may have seen my interview recently with the president of Anchorage and the co -founder of Anchorage, Diego Monica. If you haven't seen that, be sure to check it out. It says here, restructuring plan also included Anchorage, BlockFi and mass mutual asset finance. Apart from Anchorage, all other three firms chose a mix of cash and equity options to settle their claims. The expansion investment plan by Bitmain will come into force by the fourth quarter of 2023, pending approval from a judge. Once approved, the hardware will potentially add 4 .1 exahashes to Core Scientific's hash rate. The two crypto mining companies all have also agreed to work together to upgrade Bitmain's last generation miners hosted at Core Scientific's data centers to further increase the firm's productivity. So, folks, Core Scientific, I will be potentially interviewing the new CEO and I'll let you guys know when that's coming up. But I want to definitely get into the details here and what BlackRock is doing with them in addition to Bitmain. So I'll definitely be asking those questions once I get the interview locked in. But, you know, a lot of companies are preparing for the Bitcoin mining next year. And many of you may have seen my interview uploaded earlier today with Fred Thiel, who's the CEO of Marathon Digital Holdings, and Marathon is working with a sovereign wealth fund. So, folks, there's going to be a lot of capital coming to the market. You're going to see a rise in demand for Bitcoin as the spot ETFs get approved, especially around, you know, BlackRock spot ETF and Fidelity and so forth. So I'm very bullish, you know, like I've been saying, we are in quantitative tightening, fighting inflation, rates are high, but this will end right as it has historically boom and bust cycles. The Fed will eventually start its QE again. They're going to start printing money, global liquidity will go back up and we'll be back in a bull market. We just have to be patient, dollar cost average where possible. And, you know, don't look at the price every day because you'll drive yourself crazy. And, you know, it's very volatile. Sometimes it's moving sideways. It's very boring. And I know that's tough. But just, you know, take your positions, obviously do your research, take your positions and just be patient and then, you know, watch what these players are doing. Right. Not so much the price, but watch what the players like this are doing, who's investing, who's building, who's raising capital and much more. So that's what I'm looking at. And that's why I build this podcast to share the news, because, you know, this is not going to make mainstream news. This is not going to be on CNBC, Fox or CNN or whatever it is. Right. And a lot of people are not paying attention. But I'm glad I'm here early. If you are here early, pat yourself on the back because there's going to be billions of people coming in buying Bitcoin and other crypto at a premium and they're going to go to BlackRock and whoever else. Right. But you and I are on the side of smart money. We are on the side of BlackRock. We are on the side of Fidelity. Right. Accumulating the lows. And then when the bull markets come back, then, you know, the herds, the herd who watch Jim Cramer and listen to Jim Cramer will go by. And that's when I'll be taking profits. And I'm sure many of you as well. So once you understand the market cycles, both for stocks, even real estate and obviously crypto, you know, you can make money, folks. And that's what I had to learn. I had to unlearn the mainstream media finance and listening to Jim Cramer and all these things. Right. And study the charts and understand the market cycles and know when to buy and when to sell, because all those things, you have to be a contrarian. Right. You've got to go against your emotions. You've got to go against the herd mentality. And that's hard if, you know, all your life you've been trained to go with the herd. Right. From television and media and all these things, you have to unlearn that. And once you get it, boy, it's pretty sweet. Right. To be able to make a nice return, make nice money. And obviously you've got to diversify. I diversify into different tokens, into stocks. I've often tweeted and sometimes shared, you know, my positions. Recently, I told you guys I bought PayPal because Jim Cramer said to sell PayPal. So I bought PayPal. Right. I know it's not going to be some quick flip. It may I see I may see some nice returns by next year and that's OK. I a am patient investor looking to build wealth for me and my family. So anyway, guys, that's my approach. Let me know what you think. I would love to hear what you guys think about this news. Leave your thoughts and comments below. Hit the thumbs up button. Hit the five star rating on the podcast platforms. Don't forget to check out the merchandise store. Link will be in the description. Thank you for your support. Thank you for listening. And I'll talk to you all later. Thank you.

A reclusive young woman battles an alien childhood home. Caitlyn Deaver is super talented from last man standing to book smart but this time the director coaches her to breathe unrealistically heavy which would give her away in a heartbeat unlike Emily Blunt in A Quiet Place. Brian Duffield directs compelling visual sequences with radios turning on like Close Encounters of the Third Kind but we see the alien too early and often. Beneath it all is a subplot of regret as she writes apology letters to her best friend for her past actions but the ultimate reveal makes her unlikable for a confusing finale. Oscar Meyers iconic hot dog shaped vehicle is officially this morning the Wienermobile again. After briefly changing its name to the Frankmobile earlier this year I didn't even know that happened the name change lasted just four months. Maybe that's why I didn't know it changed his name. A highlight from Could Oil and a Gov't Shutdown Screw Up Powell's Plans?

"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Friday, September 22nd, and today we are talking oil, macro, everything that could throw the economy off. But before we get to that, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link at the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. All right, friends, well, we are sort of continuing the macro story today that we picked up around Powell and the FOMC this week. And one of the questions that Powell was asked was about risks that threatened to knock the economy off course. Two that he mentioned that we're going to spend a little time on today include oil prices and a potential government shutdown. Let's start with oil first. The price of crude oil has steadily increased over the past four months. From a low of around $70 in June, oil reached almost $90 a barrel for the US -based WTI benchmark contract and $95 per barrel and $95 per barrel for international Brent crude earlier this week. The price increase for crude has driven US gas prices back above $3 .80 per gallon, the highest level since last October. Overall, gas prices have ramped up by 20 % since the beginning of the year, according to AAA. Now, there are a number of factors all contributing to steadily increasing oil prices since the June lows. The first is OPEC+. The economic group of oil producing nations led by Saudi Arabia and Russia have recently curbed output. Production cuts, which were agreed to late last year, have been gradually implemented over the past six months. In July, Saudi Arabia voluntarily cut an additional 1 million barrels per day from its production quota, about 10 % of its previous output. Existing production cuts across OPEC have already been extended into next year and analysts expect Saudi Arabia to extend their voluntary cuts until March. On Thursday, Russia further constrained supply by banning the export of diesel and petrol. Russia is one of the world's largest suppliers of diesel alongside their status as producing around 12 % of the global supply of crude oil. The International Energy Agency said last year that Russian refineries produce, quote, roughly double the diesel needed to satisfy domestic demand and typically export half their annual production. Analyst opinions focused on the simplest explanation for the ban, retaliation for sanctions. Henning Gloestien of the Eurasia Group said, Russia wants to inflict pain on Europe and the U .S. and it looks like they're now repeating the playbook from gas and the oil market ahead of the winter months. They're showing that they're not finished using their power over energy markets. The Kremlin said the ban was temporary and aimed at addressing rising energy prices in domestic markets. However, they gave no timeline on when the ban might be lifted. U .S. and European policymakers have largely banned the importation of Russian refined fuel since February, which has required Russian supply to be routed through third party regions including Turkey, North Africa and Latin America. Now, OPEC cuts over the past year were predicated on a weakening demand profile heading into this year. At the time they were announced, recessions were expected across Europe and the U .S. China was an open question with the potential of reopening pushed back in the midst of additional pandemic waves. But since then, the European economy is sputtering along, albeit with dismal manufacturing data out of Germany. The sanctioning of Russian supply has caused European demand to be displaced to other regions with refining capacity, largely India and the Middle East. In the U .S., recession has been continuously pushed off into the future and oil demand is now back at all time highs with no signs of slowing. Although the Chinese economy has hit some turbulence recently, oil demand remains robust. Analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources. What's more, analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources in part to mitigate geopolitical risks as well as to shore up its manufacturing and transportation industries. So with oil prices spiking, many are wondering whether the White House will once again intervene in markets using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Between November 2021 and September of last year, the White House authorized a number of SPR releases. The final policy saw one million barrels per day provided into the market over six months. A small amount of oil was restocked earlier this year, but the SPR still sits at a little over half its pre -pandemic level. Earlier this week, a headline circulated proclaiming that quote, Biden says depleting SPR is on the table. This was later found to be a hoax with no legitimate source, but it demonstrates how difficult high oil prices could be for the U .S. economy heading into election season. To wit, many saw the SPR release as a political decision rather than an economic decision heading into the 2022 midterms. In the private sector, U .S. oil inventories have recently hit 40 -year lows of 46 -day supply, well below the longer -term average of 65 days. And while August's inflation reports already showed a small uptick due to oil -related prices, the effect is expected to be more profound across this month. Dario Perkins, an economist at T .S. Lombard said, That said, it is important to keep these recent inflationary developments in context. We are not yet in danger of undoing 12 months of solid disinflationary progress, not even close. Others suggested that high oil prices would have a greater impact on growth rather than inflation. Maya Bhandari, head of multi -asset at BNP Paribas Asset Management said, It really impacts the growth side of the Goldilocks equation rather than the inflation side of things over the long term. Theory is that sustained high oil prices begin to eat into disposable income for households alongside higher costs of production for manufacturing and logistics. These combine to reduce growth and potentially tip the economy into recession. Overall, this situation in the oil markets has, to some, many parallels to the liquid natural gas spike in the winter of 2022. Prices in some markets rose more than tenfold, European energy companies scrambled to secure supply at any cost, and multiple firms went bankrupt due to the volatility in markets. This week, Bloomberg reported that the trading arm of French supplier Total Energies has played a major role in bidding up the price of U .S.-based oil. Their source claimed that the firm is paying a premium for physical U .S. barrels, pushing the spread against futures to levels not seen since last November. With all of that said, there are some signs that the oil market is beginning to cool off. On Thursday, Brent crude futures fell to $92 per barrel, which represented the third straight day of price declines, which is the longest streak in almost a month. Warren Patterson, head of Commodity Strategy at ING, said the Fed's hawkish messaging has quote, put some pressure on risk assets, including oil. The dollar index has risen by 0 .8 % since Chair Powell left the podium, a large enough move to weigh on asset markets. Patterson said he still expects Brent crude to move above the $100 mark in the near term, but that he doesn't anticipate the move will be sustainable. So that is the view on oil overall. The thing that I am definitely going to be watching more than anything else is the political dimension of this. We are now entering the period where everything, even more than usual, is going to be completely wrapped up in what it means for the election season. If prices at the pump keep trending up, it seems very likely that the Biden administration will be willing to do what it takes, including SPR releases, to get those prices down. But that's just something we're going to have to keep an eye on. Now what about that other factor that Powell mentioned? Well yes, indeed, my friends, the US government is once again hurtling towards a shutdown after efforts to pass a short term spending bill were scuttled on the House floor on Thursday. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy attempted to marshal Republicans to vote through a package to keep the government funded past the end of September. Closed door negotiations continued late into Wednesday night, but were apparently unconvincing. The bill currently being considered is the $886 billion Defense Appropriations Act. The bill was stifled in the House after five GOP representatives refused to allow debate to begin by voting against a preliminary procedural rule. Democrats also voted against the measure and appeared to taunt Republicans apparently reveling in seeing the GOP's slim majority descend into chaos. Among the Republican dissenters was Marjorie Taylor Greene, who opposed the inclusion of $300 million in funding to the Ukrainian war effort. On Thursday, Politico reported that Pentagon sources have said Ukrainian operations have been exempted from any shutdown, making that part of the dispute rather moot. McCarthy sent House members home on Thursday night to return to Washington on Tuesday. He told reporters after the failed vote, quote, two people flipped, so I got to figure out how to fix that. That wasn't the impression they had given us. Now, this was McCarthy's third attempt at bringing the bill to the House floor. The current proposal on the table is a 31 -day stopgap funding mechanism to forestall a shutdown to begin next weekend. McCarthy remarked on the change in tone in Congress among that extreme element of the Republican Party, stating that, quote, this is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place down. Now, even if a 31 -day stopgap is passed in the House, it seems unlikely to make its way through the Democrat -controlled Senate. The bill includes a 30 percent temporary cut to domestic agencies and immigration law changes, neither of which are likely to get the seal of approval from Dems. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said instead of decreasing the chance of a shutdown, Speaker McCarthy is actually increasing it by wasting time on extremist proposals that cannot become law in the Senate. House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries remarked that the situation was playing out as a, quote, Republican civil war. Now, if it comes to pass, this would be the 11th government shutdown since 1980. The logic is that hard -line positions that don't enjoy support in the Congress can be put directly to the American people by shutting down the government and drawing attention to the impasse. Republican Ralph Norman said last week that, quote, we're going to have a shutdown. We believe in what we're doing. The jury will be the country. Still, the record on government shutdowns doesn't really support that strategy. Not one of the 10 previous shutdowns resulted in the dissenting group extracting concessions. Typically, the American people quickly turn on the party they view as blocking access to government services over a petty squabble. Alex Conant, a Republican strategist, said, This is such a dumb fight because there's no principle that we're standing on here. It's just bad tactics. While the dispute is nominally over excessive government spending, with Republican dissenters pushing for funding to be reduced back to 2022 levels, the underlying problem is, of course, the level of discord within the Republican Party. McCarthy was voted in as House Speaker after a record 15 attempts. The process took four days and frequently descended into a farce. This was only the second time in the post -Civil War era that a House Speaker had failed to be elected on the first attempt. Conant noted the terrible optics of a government shutdown of the Republicans' own making heading into election season, stating that, quote, Biden didn't win because of his political skills and soaring oratory. He won because Republicans blew themselves up with Trump. I'm afraid we're seeing history repeat itself, with the GOP once again helping Biden by shooting themselves in the foot. Of course, never one to shy away from controversy, Trump fanned the flames on Wednesday, posting that, quote, Republicans in Congress can and must defund all aspects of Crooked Joe Biden's weaponized government that refuses to close the border and treats half the country as enemies of the state. He added that, quote, This is also the last chance to defund these political prosecutions against me and other patriots. They failed on the debt limit they must not fail now. Use the power of the person to defend the country. Now, zooming out and trying to get away from the politics of the situation, which obviously is not the focus of this show. The reason that this was brought up at last week's FOMC press conference is that a government shutdown would halt the publication of government data. This would include employment, inflation and growth statistics, which are currently playing a key role in guiding Fed policy. Now, given how much the Fed has said over and over again, their policy is going to be driven by data, presumably not having access to that data would be a fairly big deal. Yet in spite of that, Powell tried to put on a brave face, saying, If there is a government shutdown and it lasts through the next meeting, then it's possible we wouldn't be getting some of the data that we would ordinarily get and we would just have to deal with that. Now, by way of some history, the longest ever government shutdown lasted 35 days. The dispute was around funding for the border wall and quickly turned public sentiment against the Trump administration. Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate, but the administration failed to convince their own party to fund the wall. At the time, Democrat Senator Jon Tester called it the most stupid shutdown I have ever seen in my life. However, if this week's display is anything to go by, that 2019 shutdown could soon have some competition for that title. Now, what does this all have to do with the crypto sphere? Well, I think in many ways these are just exemplary of the state of politics in general. And given that, perhaps it's not surprising that former Senator Pat Toomey is not optimistic about the chances of crypto legislation being passed during this Congress. Just prior to retiring from Congress at the beginning of the year, Toomey introduced his own crypto bill, which focused on stablecoin regulations. Now, the House currently has two major crypto bills eligible to be brought for a vote. One would establish a stablecoin framework while the other introduces more broad crypto regulations. While speaking at a Georgetown Law Seminar on Thursday, however, Toomey said, I don't see a path forward in the Senate regardless of how the vote goes in the House. He added that of the two, he sees the stablecoin legislation as having the best shot. The sticking point will likely be Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown. While Brown has been outspoken about the risks of crypto and the need to bring the industry to heel, he has so far remained extremely quiet on exactly what form of legislation would meet his approval. And of course, any crypto legislation would need the support of Democratic senators to pass a vote to become law. Still, during an interview on Thursday, Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad said that she thinks that Brown's lack of commitment to a legislative position might actually be a good thing. Shirzad said, Now, last week, Brown wrote a letter to head regulators at multiple agencies urging them to use their existing powers to crack down on non -compliant crypto firms. This of course seems to be the clear intention, at least at the SEC. On Tuesday, the head of that agency's crypto assets and cyber unit, David Hirsch, warned that more enforcement actions would be coming against crypto intermediaries, including DeFi protocols. Still, Toomey, who serves now as an advisor to Coinbase, views stablecoin legislation as the solvable problem. At the moment, Democrats are pushing for the Fed to serve a central role in regulating issuers rather than granting oversight power to state regulators. This preference is believed to be driven by the White House. Toomey said, He thinks that senior Democrats will get on board once the White House is satisfied with the stablecoin proposal. Although that proposal might have to wait until after the election, as Toomey said in the next Congress, I think it's quite possible to get something done.

"Because all it takes is three to run to the other side. And then somebody comes up with a proposal like Byron Donald's and other conservatives that say, look, I negotiated with our squishes, my language. Look I what got. Eight percent cut will still support the military, VA benefits will still support that, and major efforts to secure the border. Look what I got! No, no, no, no, and these guys are joking. They're just a joke. We're going to hold the speaker if we don't get what we want. Why don't you just run for speaker? See how many votes you get? This isn't about McCarthy. It's not about the speaker. It's about how five individuals are exploiting McCarthy for their own purposes. I want you to listen to this guy, Ken Buck. This guy, Ken Buck, is being interviewed on CNN. He's already confessed that he's been negotiating with them and talking to them about getting a job from CNN. CNN. About getting a job from CNN. So he's doing these interviews. He's showing up on CNN. In CNN. He's performing for CNN in hopes that they'll hire him. That's what he's hoping. And so what's the best way to do that? To come off as reasonable, you know. I don't think there should be an impeachment in Korea Joe Biden. This guy. On the other hand, he's one of the five on the

"And what's up everybody? This is Karrick with ACG and I'm here with Abzi, Johnny Silver and myself doing the best gaming podcast 411 number 411. Thank you everybody for joining you get a chance to check out the YouTube membership. We've got a new special on there for YouTube members. You can join it. You can become a part of the discord also scientifically proven people who become members of the YouTube more sex for sure, especially if you're a virgin when you get the membership and then you have sex 100 % more sex than you've ever had before. So you definitely want to be a YouTube member. We're going to talk about cyberpunk Phantom Liberty. We're going to talk about all of the Embracer cuts. There's been a ton of the Embracer cuts, which is really sad. We're going to talk about payday 3. We're going to talk about some review scores how that's all coming about going to talk about some new games that released that I want to ask these guys if they've played and I haven't told them not because I was trying to keep it secret, but just because I had forgotten to tell them prior talk about the DLC for Resident Evil 4 Ada Wong. What was that called? Do you guys remember starting? Starting over? Starting again? Starting? Isn't it something like that? Nope. Let's let's name it ourselves. Ada Wong bad voice actress does separate ways. Alright, terrible voice actress and then we'll talk about. Yeah, we'll talk about a bunch of other stuff. Welcome to silver who hasn't been here for a while. I'm starting to pay these guys again, not be not. That's not why he came back, but that's because because I didn't tell him that yet, but we finally got everything sort of situated here and I want to say how much I appreciate the support and stuff like that because it helps the channel stay on YouTube, which is a little bit difficult right now, but we're getting it figured out what have we been playing. Let's go with silver first because it's been a while. You said you've been doing some Payday 3? Yeah, a little bit today. Like actually managed to get some functionality from the servers. I've otherwise been down for a lot of people and get a couple of games in. Gameplay wise, it's solid. I think it's a significant improvement on Payday 2 in terms of just the gameplay, particularly the stealth. The stealth feels a lot less janky. It feels a lot more fun to engage with. It's a lot more predictable in terms of how you interact with it, where when it goes wrong, you have a pretty good decent idea of what went wrong and how you got detected. Where with Payday 2, it could be really, really janky. But I found it to be more predictable this time around. Gunplay is also a huge improvement. It feels really, really satisfying, really, really fun to shoot the guns. The animations for reloading and stuff feel pretty good. So that's also a significant bump in terms of the game's quality. So yeah, it's more fun to play. But unfortunately, the game suffers a lot under the decision to take it to online only, which is something that a lot of people feared back when they announced it a couple of months ago. Because it does require server functionality and the server functionality hasn't really been there. It has to be said that Payday 3 has jumped to the top of the Steam charts. So they've seen a lot of success and that does often introduce issues in an online game when there's issues with it in the data and early access leading up to the release. And so they weren't able to address it for launch either. Servers are crashing. And it's really frustrating for players who are going through a heist stealthily, like nearly an hour of prep work and stuff and you're at the getaway. And then the game drops you and you get nothing for That's it. happened a bunch to a lot of people. It also happened to me today. At one point. There's also some really weird decisions in terms of the multiplayer where there's no voice chat functionality inside the game, which is bizarre in a game so heavily reliant on proper coordination between teammates. There's no text, you can't use text chat in you can't even like if you click ready when you're like readying up for the lobby, you can't unclick ready. So you can't read. So you bet you best be ready. You better be ready if you click that button. Yeah. And yeah, it's just weird. And when the missions end, your team gets disbanded. So if you actually end up with a bunch of competent randoms, you lose complete touch with each other and you can't like talk to them over voice chat or anything to like get a sense of contact information or anything. So the social aspect of the game has been severely limited. The matchmaking itself is really poor. There's no like the crime net functionality of pay day two is basically gone. You basically just go to a mission, you select a difficulty and whether you want it to be public or private or or friends only or whatever or invite only. And those are basically the only filter options you get. And then the game tries to find you tries to match you up and fails frequently at the moment. But that those are all the only options you get. And that I find that severely limited and basic. And I would have liked there to be like more filter options like do you want to play stealth? Do you want to play loud? Those were filter options that were eventually integrated into payday two. And like their absence feels particularly odd here, especially, especially when you also coupled it with the absence of all the other stuff, like the absence of voice chat and stuff like that. It sort of compounds the issue. So it's, it's a very mixed bag. But yeah, gameplay, gameplay wise, really fun to play. Yeah, regardless. Big improvement from from payday two, I think. All right, Johnny, what have you been playing? There we go. So interestingly, I've been spending most of my time playing games on lines of P this week, which as you guys know, that's kind of a 180 from where I was at, we talked about the demo, I wasn't really happy with what was in there, right? I wasn't the game is better than maybe they improved it since I played it. But there's something about it that just fits perfectly into what I wanted. You know, it's a more linear, streamlined souls game, where I can kind of just focus on the leveling, creating builds, crafting weapons. Yeah. And just getting good at the game, right? Or like understanding the the attacks and stuff. So it kind of removes a lot of the getting lost and exploring, which is admittedly, a great part of souls games. But it's not something that I wanted right now, after being in BG three and starfield and all. Yeah, yeah, it's it's good to like not have to worry about that kind of stuff. Sometimes. Exactly. I just know, I won't be getting lost. Right. And I can kind of always trudge on at a pretty good pace. And I frankly, like the combat quite a bit, surprisingly, again, because I'm not a fan of perfect parry. And the game does basically rely on that. Yeah, but they've managed to make it really satisfying. It's kind of like a dopamine hit, you know, when you do get the perfect parry, because you can break enemy weapons, you can stagger them by doing that. So just kind of it feels powerful. It's not just like a gimmick, like an Oh, you got outplay. Yeah, right. It's like, actually, whoa, okay, this is powerful. Right. And you can physically see the effect to because the enemy weapon glows when you perfect parry. And this means you're breaking it right. You're in the process of breaking it. Yeah, by by parry. So that's a huge ability to impact their weapons. That's because that's pretty rare. I mean, I don't I don't know if I remember. And to visually see the weapon broken to let you know, it will be a sword and then the tip is broken, right? And they do way less damage. It's just cool, man. Yeah. Yeah. What about you, Abzi? What are you playing? This week, I played more starfield. And then I some played Liza P, I could like four or five bosses. And then I tried the 2 .0 update for cyberpunk. Oh, so you've been jumping or well, probably started the week, I assume with starfield and then starfield. And then when Liza P came out, I checked it out for a bit. I checked it out for a while. I think I put in like seven or eight hours in that game. Should I talk about it? Or are we going to talk about it later? We'll talk which one Liza P starfield or Liza P. You can talk about right now because just continue Johnny's part. What do you like? What are you getting from it or not? I think it's a fine game. I think it's a fun game. I think, however, it's it's it's less of a soul. It's it's it's souls like to the point where it's like a souls born Sekiro clone. You know what I mean? Yeah. So I think I think it tries to pretty much get a bunch of elements from those three main IPs, even Elden Ring with like the ways some bosses and some enemies kind of fucking go like this for like an hour and then like start hitting whatever. So it gets like the parry from Sekiro and like the left mechanical arm thing from Sekiro has like the bloodborne thing of regenerating health and like aggression. But with this one, you have to block so that you're able to do that. And and it has also you can argue that the the setting is more like bloodborne than anything else. And it has like the kind of tries to hit the atmosphere of the souls games. But I feel like they missed the mark a little bit because the characters do talk slow and like this, you know, I mean, like a souls game. But I don't think the VA is quite up to snuff there. Like it always pulled me out. It kind of felt like they're a little bit too tryhardy on that area of talking. But I think it's I think the fun factor is there. I think the fun factor is definitely there. Now, I think it's a it's the sum of its parts. What is it? What's the saying? It's greater than the sum greater than some of its parts, because when you hone in on like one thing, like one mechanic, like let's say like the parrying, I think it's tight parrying. I think it's a it's about as tight as Sekiro. But I feel like the enemies or the enemy animations aren't kind of built around that you can definitely get good at parrying. But I feel like with Sekiro, the reason why it really worked very well is because there was like a nice kind of rhythmic dance to it, especially with the sound effects and stuff like you could like close your eyes and parry a boss. So it had that thing where the whole game was, was kind of designed around that one thing, which was the parrying mechanic, I think it tries to do a lot of things. And it doesn't hit its mark, like really well with one thing, but all of them put together, it's pretty fun, because you have a lot of options. Like for example, for blocking, you can block and suffer some health damage and and kill that, like hit the enemy so that you get gain your health back. But at the same time, you can also perfect parries. So you have like, and then you can dodge as well. I don't think like the dodge itself is like really good and really tight. I don't think the because I think the hitboxes are kind of fucked in this game, to be honest. And I don't think the parry is like the game isn't designed around it, as I said before, so it's not like really right there. But them together offers like a better kind of experience because you still have that risk versus reward factor. I think it's fun overall, I just have like some issues with it, where there's like better alternatives that focus more on those aspects. Yeah. Gotcha. Super, super chat from wannabe dev. Perfect way to start the weekend. Glad to see silverback. Look at that. He's glad to see silverback. Thank you. Like it. Silverback. Glad to see silverbacks.

"So we're dealing with the red day the hangover from last night's FOMC meeting It's like a delayed reaction to what Jerome Powell said last night We're gonna have to talk about what Jerome Powell said because at the time when he was speaking Nothing happened to markets But afterwards what we realized is exactly this we realized that what Jerome Powell did last night was he may have actually broken the market What is it that he said that actually scared people and why is it that right now if we look at Bitcoin? Here we are. We are at twenty six thousand five hundred and forty. You remember before FOMC last night. We were at twenty seven thousand four hundred We thought we were gonna get a pump We also touched the top of the Bollinger Bands and now we're gonna come down if we start coming down again to the bottom of the Bollinger Bands we could go back down to Twenty five thousand one hundred and fifty five. So what did he do? What did Powell say? What did Powell do that has set off this reaction that has set off the Dixie look at the Dixie The Dixie is now had one two, three, four, five six, seven eight nine We are in the tenth green weekly candle for the Dixie and to make matters actually even worse if you go into the daily the Dixie has just had a golden cross now You know what a golden cross is the golden cross is the opposite of the death cross When you have a death cross usually prices continue to go down when you have the golden cross That's when prices usually go up and I'll take you to the last time that we had this golden cross Look what happened to the Dixie. What Abbott is doing, Governor Abbott, sending these people to New York, they need to continue to do that. The only hope I see for change is when Democrats push back, send these illegal immigrants to Democratic controlled cities all over the country and making it real to Joe Biden's party. This is like a rabbit hole, but, you know, posture is a very interesting topic because there's lots of studies out there that show that actually fixing posture doesn't do absolutely anything to preventing pain. So you could say posture is a shitcoin. The best way to fix your posture, I think, is just sell your chair. So, Sam, I've been doing a muscle activation technique, which is basically a realignment of your nervous system, I guess, so you have a bunch of different muscles that help your joints to mobilize your joints, and oftentimes we get micro injuries and some of these slow twitch deep muscles stop working and then your body compensates, of course, by utilizing other muscles around that muscle group or within that muscle group to compensate, and sometimes those muscles start refiring again and sometimes they don't. And so I've been doing this thing called muscle activation technique, and my posture has actually improved because this technician has gone through and ensured that all of these muscles that are around these joints for mobility and range of motion are activated. And I feel I actually it's almost like magic. It's just really weird thing because you don't really you can't really tell what's going on because you don't really feel a lot of these muscles individually. But after doing this for about 10 sessions now, I feel better physically than I have in a long time. My posture is better. It feels like my body is working in much better than it has in the past. And it's really been it's really and he and he actually and people have noticed my posture getting better. And it's just a really it's it's probably the best health care money because he doesn't take insurance or anything. It's probably the best health care money I have spent in the last 20 years. Wow, that's quite an endorsement. Well, that's great. Happy it's up for you. Muscle activation techniques. What's up, Terrence, Dom, good morning. Yeah, I've been working on my posture, too. I look back at like old bull market charts, Bitcoin, and then in my posture, I like puff up and my everything kind of comes much better. I just have to go on internal team videos, watch my great colleagues, Steven Lubka and put them. Sometimes they look the same to me because they have the exact same posture and they're the same height. But yes, that's always a good reminder to improve my posture. That is true, as you learn about Bitcoin and you stop watching every single five minute candle staring at the chart and just stop worrying and go outside and start learning about other things, start learning about the network, reading books, the posture improves. So there's a little benefit there. Dom, yeah, I saw you make an announcement about the proof of workforce. Congratulations. Pretty cool. You want to tell us a little bit about it? Yeah, thanks, Sam. I got a little background noise because I'm on the big red. But yeah, really awesome to get that thing up and going. We put it, we tweeted out our board, which is, in my opinion, an unbelievable board of directors, including, I see in the audience, the one, the only Joe Carlasari. So I got mad BJ Dictor sound effects. I got my BJ Dictor sound effects loaded up right now. So, yeah, no, just doing great stuff, doing some great work, really excited for it and excited to talk more about it at Pacific and connect with anyone who's looking to bring Bitcoin to workers and unions and other membership based organizations. So really cool stuff. And yeah, man, super pumped. Yeah, I think it's a super cool nonprofit just working for, to educate people about Bitcoin, these unions, these pensions. Congrats on getting that off the ground. I think it's a really important effort for the next bull market to kind of start protecting workers and their future retirement. So with Bitcoin. Yeah, it's a tough group to crack sometimes. And it really helps, you know, was thinking about like, what's the best model and the nonprofit model being able to come in with no product? No, like, hey, sign up here. Like, hey, here's the cards on the table. We want to help you figure out how this works with your organization, whether that's just education, whether it's adding Bitcoin to the balance sheet, you know, enabling lightning payments for your members, you know, whatever that is, we just want to provide the tools and then let them kind of find their way on their own. Yeah, probably use the Nakamoto portfolio. That's a great tool right there. It's going to help a lot. Check it out. Nakamoto portfolio dot com. Play around with those tools. Extremely powerful. Yeah, that's a great tool for sure. Kind of pivoting a little bit, but like. Did you guys see that video of the guy getting his engagement ring back on like a reality TV show and then saying, you know, oh, that's a Bitcoin. That was hilarious. I could play it for you if you want. Yeah, why don't you play it? Vanderpump rules, right? You're still wearing your engagement ring, huh? Yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm going to give it back to him. Do you want to know? I mean. Don't give it back. No, I'm not going to keep it right here. Thank you. That's a Bitcoin. I love that so much. It's like every Bitcoiner thinks that you start like pricing in everything in Bitcoin. It really does become your unit of count in your head. Once you give the girl the ring, don't take it back. Yeah, you're going to want to make sure you're. You're positive on that one. Another reason not to put data on the base layer, right, like marriage certificates. I kind of think the days of expensive engagement rings and expensive weddings are going to end fairly soon with housing affordability at all time lows and so forth or in all time lows for at least for decades. You mean because diamonds are a shit coin and they dump them in the in the ocean off of the coast of South Africa? Yeah, basically, I think it's already the demand is already down, but it needs to kind of die a permanent death. I think the greatest marketing campaign ever. Yeah, diamonds are a rabbit hole. Like I'm going down that rabbit hole, the De Beers company and how they control a monopoly on the entire supply. And it was a huge marketing campaign. And there's no scarcity there. Girls aren't going to want to hear that, but only it's only for certain only for certain sizing and color. But yeah, then there's like these lab diamonds, right, that you can't even tell the difference now that are better. Yeah, I'm not going to get one of those, but they're shit coins. There's no scarcity to them. And they're wow. Really, Sam? It's progressed that far. You're already thinking about a ring. Congratulations. You heard it here first on Cafe People. I wouldn't go that far, Peter, right? But if I was, there's no way I'm going to get her a lab diamond. I saw this video of somebody like in the front row of an NBA game. And I guess there's like a gun that you could check rings to see if they're lab grown or they're regular. And they were going down looking at the big rocks of these celebrities. And this guy, his wife's ring, and then it shines red that it's a lab diamond. And she just gets so pissed off and throws it at him and runs out of the game. Whoops. Rug pull. Rug pull. Or that gun was inaccurate. Because again, you're like trusting the third party source. That's the whole point of bringing it back to Bitcoin. But that's the whole point of Bitcoin is you can self verify that you got real Bitcoin from whoever sent you Bitcoin because you're running your own node. Whereas with whether it's gold or diamond, like the Chinese got swindled for billions of dollars. I think of fake gold bars that were actually tung sun and just gold plated. I like how quickly you think on your feet, Terence, but I don't think she's going to buy it. Yeah. Terence is like, oh, did you think about the gun? It was the gun, bitch. It was the gun. Oh, my God. Hey, guys. So a friend of mine, actually, this is timely. A friend of mine just bought a lab grown diamond and he paid 1500 euros for it. It was 3 .07 carats. And a traditional diamond would have cost about 50 grand. So it's completely destroyed the price of diamonds, man. That's insane. Yeah. Over three carats. And it's chemically, he showed me the certificate is chemically identical. It's still got slight flaws in it, but they literally just they're basically just printing diamonds now. Right. So they've become dollars. I thought it was funny. That's hilarious. The stock to flow is going down for diamonds. Anyway, his wife, she's delighted. She's got a $50 ,000 diamond around her neck. Does she? Got to get one of those guns around here. So check out, check them all. Yeah, I'm intrigued about that gun because what he was saying to me was that he said chemically, they're identical. So I'm not sure what the gun's doing to identify it being a... They find the flaw, right? Because natural diamonds have flaws. So if it's natural, there's going to be a flaw. It's inevitable. You can't see it, but you can see it under like a magnifying glass or whatever. Well, I saw the certificate of this lab grown diamond and it had flaws in it as well. Oh, wow. Yeah, they artificially create the... Yeah, Chris, did you verify that there was a flaw? That's a valid point. I mean, I did trust. I didn't verify. So I stand called out. Yeah, a lot of Bitcoiners are pretty hesitant to separate with their sats. But I think a white is a good investment. That's when you know you got a keeper. Like I was going to buy you a diamond ring, babe, but instead I stacked into cold storage for us. For us. Sam, you might have something there. A ring that's a self -custody hard wallet. You might be something there, dude. I'm actually seeing... I remember in 2017, I saw rings and watches with like little tiny QR codes in them. I don't know if it's a good idea to have a lot of your Bitcoin on a ring or I saw another person with one in a necklace. So there are like things like that. It's not great security. It reminds me of how like in India and stuff, they wear their gold. You know, they keep it around their neck and wrists just because it's the safest place to be. I mean, I guess if it's just a receiving address, you know, I mean, somebody could hold me down and track it down and figure out and whatever. But I mean, you know, that could be your diamond ring. You know, instead of the diamond up there at the crown, throw a QR code up there. Just be like, babe, you're going to be stacking. We're going to stack for the rest of our lives together now. We're going on a stacking journey together. How do you carry across the border more than $10 ,000 in value without having to report it? You wear it. Or Bitcoin. I have friends who move tens of millions of dollars or millions of dollars of their net worth, like 90, I don't know, 98 % plus of their total net worth to leave China, leave South Africa, come to the U .S. and never go back. And at the time, at least, they were too dumb to stop them or even question them. We just left, one -way ticket. Yeah, the fact that Bitcoin is digital and that anybody can escape like an authoritarian regime or war with some of their wealth, you know, that's when you think about like the ESG narrative and even like KPMG report talked about the S and how that characteristic of Bitcoin really helped people in really tough situations and think about how else they would do that and kind of realize that like Bitcoin is a solution there to a problem. And BlackRock and State Street are closing up ESG funds as we speak, which is, I think, a positive development. Yeah, I kind of reject that entire framing. I think it's led to a lot of misallocation of capital and kind of influencing boardrooms about how they invest their capital kind of impeding free markets. Yeah, ESG is a control scheme. I mean, we've seen that, but what are you talking about about BlackRock shutting down ESG funds? I don't know about that. Yeah, BlackRock and State Street have just been closing ESG funds in 2023, kind of shutting them up. And that's a reversal of the trend over the last couple of years. And BlackRock, Larry Fink, I mean, in the early 2010s kind of spearheaded a lot of these efforts, really gung ho about ESG. The last couple of years, they've seen a ton of pushback. And now we're kind of seeing them close up ESG funds. And I feel like we're seeing a shift in sentiment around the entire movement because I think people are realizing that like, A, some of these goals are completely untenable. And then secondly, you're hurting the poorest countries amongst us, like the developing nations, by preventing them from accessing cheap energy sources. And you're really making us weaker and less resilient by shutting down oil, gas, and fossil fuels. And so you're seeing a ton of pushback on it. And so BlackRock and State Street are starting to shut down ESG funds. It's just kind of like a flag post in my mind of this ESG narrative that was so, so strong the last decade. I don't know if anyone else has opinions there, but... Yeah, the only thing I have to say is I feel like Larry Fink kind of jumped on the bandwagon somewhat later after the ESG narrative got a lot of traction. Then he kind of added fuel to the fire, which is a huge name and was very outspoken. My point is he's added fuel to the fire. He didn't start the fire, but he kind of... So he's a politician ultimately, right? Like he's very political, even though he knows finance. To a manage massive fund that manages, I don't know, $9 .6 trillion or whatever, you have to be political and you have to read the tea leaf, so to speak. And yeah, react to the times. I think the exception would be somebody like Vanguard that might do a lot less in terms of ESG or jumping on the latest trendy whatever, because they're so focused on index funds and they're member -owned. This was not an ad for Vanguard, but... I just remember Larry Fink writing... And I just remember it made a lot of waves and kind of definitely added fuel to the fire, like I said, Terrence. So they shut down two dozen ESG funds this year, just to give some stats there. Yeah, I wish I could say like, you know, oh, maybe they really are being orange -filled and whatever, whatever. But it's probably like you said before, I mean, like ESG stuff, it's untenable over time and you get to a point, it probably just isn't profitable. I don't know than any of this, any of what I'm talking about, but just I'm just going off a gut, like the ESG stuff is unprofitable because the economics don't work. We've talked about that. You can look at the windmills and the solar panels as perfect examples of that. But I mean, just the overall thing, there's a good book, I've talked about it before, called The Prize. And it talks about the control of energy on the planet and how there are groups that seek to control other groups through the narrative of controlling what type of energy you're using, what is acceptable energy use, all of this stuff. But in the end, if you're going to try to make like, you know, bets and gambles off of this stuff, like you're going to have to pull your rug early because it's not, at some point, the economics don't work. Well, not to mention too, you know, it's the trend of like having an ESG report for a company. I want to see some of these companies that are like, you know, Nike's ESG report, which I don't know the details, you know, but you know, there's some low wage labor being done. And then, you know, you got this shiny ESG report that's like, you know, sustainability, we've done this and ethically, we've done this. And also, you know, behind the curtain, we've got this going on too. Yeah, I mean, it trickles all the way down, even now, like in web design, web development, like if you want your website to rank well on Google and whatever, then, you know, you have to build your site, you have to have that in your mind while you're building your site. You have to make sure that it's going to be well received by Googlebot and, you know, all these other stuff. And one of the things that they've been pushing is how ESG friendly is your website? Like your, the processes that it runs and, you know, are you doing it correctly and coding it correct? There's more than one way to code. And, you know, it's like, man, okay, I understand the idea, like, make your website work more efficiently. Like, of course, duh, like, that's what we're doing. But Google of all people to tell me about energy use of a web platform? Come on. Yeah, Chrome is pretty bad. Yeah, go ahead. I was orange peeling and no, I was I was just like at insurance, kind of talking to them about Bitcoin. And it was a bunch of claims professionals and lawyers. They were very like, you know, obviously, these are like super risk adverse cohort of investors. And so we were there just like talking Bitcoin as like the weird Bitcoiners at this conference. But I found out that 90 % of them take into account ESG when they're thinking about investments today. And that's in the most recent Goldman survey. So 90 % of insurers consider ESG when making capital allocations today. And at the same time, their number one worry in that survey was inflation. And so it's one of those things where I don't want to give credence to the framework. But it's so ingrained in some of these like traditional capital allocators minds that maybe just by playing into it and saying like, well, here's how Bitcoin is actually, you know, quote unquote, ESG and just kind of like Trojan horse in it through their their silly framework is the strategy that I took. And it kind of kind of went well. I kind of like said, like, although I reject this entire framing, here's why Bitcoin actually kind of achieves your goals. That's kind of the tactic that I took.

A highlight from Crypto Update | Ethereum Activity Lags Despite Network Upgrades, Altcoin Volatility Surprises

"This episode of Markets Daily is sponsored by Kraken. It's Friday, September 22nd, 2023, and this is Markets Daily from CoinDesk. My name is Noelle Acheson, CoinDesk collaborator and author of the Cryptos Macro Now newsletter on Substack. On today's show, we're talking about Ethereum activity, altcoin volatility, and more. So you don't miss an episode, be sure to follow the podcast on your platform of choice. Just a reminder, CoinDesk is a news source and does not provide investment advice. Now, a markets roundup. Markets this morning seemed to be recovering after a rough few days. Bitcoin has been fairly range -bound for the past 24 hours and at 10 am Eastern Time this morning was up 0 .6 percent, trading at $26 ,607 according to CoinDesk indices. Ether has been doing better so far today, up almost 1 .1 percent over the past 24 hours, trading at $1 ,595. On the week, Bitcoin is up 0 .4 percent, while Ether is down 1 .8 percent. In traditional markets, yesterday was the S &P 500's worst day since the aftermath of the S &P 500's steepest drop in over 100 days. This morning, however, stocks are recovering, with the S &P 500 up over two -tenths from yesterday's close, NASDAQ up almost half a percent, and the Dow Jones up one -tenth of a percent. In Europe, the FTSE is also recovering after yesterday's late trading slump and earlier today was up two -tenths of a percent. This comes in spite of economic releases this morning showing contracting activity from the service sector and a steeper -than -expected year -on -year slump in UK retail sales. Eurozone data out this morning showed a deeper -than -expected contraction in manufacturing activity with new orders declining the most in nearly three years. The German DAX index dropped sharply on the open today but has since largely recovered. The Euro Stoxx 600 index is down almost two -tenths of a percent. In Asia, Japan's Nikkei index fell just over half a percent as the country's year -on -year core inflation came in slightly higher than expected. This is fueling speculation that the Bank of Japan could end its negative rate policy early next year. However, economic growth is a concern. Data out today showed that business activity in Japan slowed to a seven -month low in September. In China, the Shanghai Composite closed up over one -and -a -half percent yesterday. Recent data suggests the growth slump has bottomed out. This is fueling optimism that recent stimulus measures will speed up economic growth. Hong Kong markets also had a good day with the Hang Seng up over half a percent. In commodities, the Brent crude benchmark continued its pullback trading at $93 .27 per barrel, down almost eight -tenths of a percent over the past 24 hours. Concerns about global economic activity are outweighing concerns about tightening oil supply. Yesterday, the Russian government announced gasoline and diesel export restrictions in order to stabilize fuel prices in the domestic market. Gold lost some ground yesterday as investors reacted to the prospect of a stronger US dollar, reaching a weekly low before climbing again. Earlier today, it was trading down almost eight -tenths of a percent at $1 ,927 per ounce. Stay tuned. After the break, we'll take a look at Ethereum activity and is the crypto market's largest meme coin becoming stable? Meet the all -new Kraken Pro, the powerful, customizable, beautiful way to trade crypto. It's Kraken's most powerful trading platform ever, packed with trading features like advanced order management and analytics tools, all in a redesigned, modular trading interface. So head to pro .kraken .com and trade like a pro. Not investment advice. Some crypto products and markets are unregulated. The unpredictable nature of the crypto assets market can lead to loss of funds and profits, maybe subject to capital gains tax. Welcome back. In this section, we're going to look at what's going on with Dogecoin volatility. But first, despite network upgrades, Ethereum's activity is not picking up. In a recent report, JP Morgan analysts noted that Ethereum's Shanghai upgrade, implemented in April to enable the withdrawal of staked tokens, has not delivered much of a boost to network activity. Ethereum's daily transaction count has fallen 12 % since the upgrade, according to the analysts, and the number of daily active addresses has dropped nearly 20%. To be fair, the purpose of the Shanghai upgrade was not to boost Ethereum transactions. It was to encourage staking by making it more flexible. Ethereum's security depends on the spread of its staking network. It has succeeded in that. Since the upgrade, the number of validators has increased by almost 50%. Also, the circulation of Ether has always been heavily influenced by DeFi activity, which is still grappling with regulatory uncertainty, recent exploits and last year's market shocks. But network activity is an important part of liquidity, which is significant for investors. And Bitcoin's activity has been recovering. The average number of daily transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain has more than doubled over the past few months, while the number of active addresses is more than 10 % higher on a seven -day moving average basis. Looking further out, Ethereum has some more upgrades in the pipeline, which will be focused on increasing throughput and therefore also, in theory, network activity. Given the community's success so far in implementing ambitious changes to improve the blockchain's functionality, Ethereum's declining activity now should not necessarily be taken as a sign that the network is less interesting. And finally, just in case you needed more evidence that these markets are, well, strange, this morning Omkar Ghoboli reported that Dogecoin, the largest meme token by market value and typically one of the riskier crypto investments, now has a lower 30 -day historical volatility than Bitcoin. Normally, a decline in volatility signals deep market liquidity and maturity. With Dogecoin, neither is the case at the moment. So, as with Bitcoin, below volatility is yet another sign that investors are staying away. That's it for today's show. I hope you all have a great weekend. "At five, six hundred billion dollars of total market cap for Bitcoin, if you include all the Bitcoin that have been produced today, a sovereign who wants to go park fifty billion dollars because they happen to have a five trillion dollar set of assets in their overall portfolio, that would have a huge impact on the price of Bitcoin. With me today is Fred Thiel, who is the CEO of Marathon Digital Holdings. Fred, it's great to have you back on the show. Great to be here. Fred, we last spoke about two years ago. I'm excited to hear the latest updates around Marathon Digital. I'm excited about the boom in Bitcoin mining in the United States. And Marathon is certainly one of the leading miners. Tell us what's new with Marathon. Well, compared to two years ago, we've grown a lot. We're now with over 23 exit hash of installed capacity, about 19 exit hash operating, just waiting to turn on our Garden City site, which should be any day here. And we've also expanded internationally. So we now have a 250 megawatt installation in Abu Dhabi, 50 megawatts of which is up and operational. That's all immersion. It's the first site that we've designed, inspect, built and operate ourselves fully. So that's very unique conditions. It's the middle of the desert and next to the Persian Gulf. So it's very hot, very humid conditions. But we have this great relationship with the local grid operators that allows them to balance the grid using our Bitcoin mining, which they love at the moment, which is great. And that site should be fully operational by the end of this year. And then we've recently announced some additional machine orders. So we'll be growing our capacity to around 30 exit hash in the near to mid future. So we're very happy with that. Another thing, we announced a week ago that we were going to essentially redeem about $417 million worth of our debt for equity, which will put our balance sheet in a really strong place. We'll end up with a little over $300 million of debt with over $400 million of liquidity between cash and Bitcoin. And coming into the having, we think it's really important to have a strong balance sheet with no short term debt and a position to take advantage of whatever opportunities arise. Yeah, that's exciting. And I'm curious about the Abu Dhabi location. Was it more of a, let's say, friendliness to Bitcoin mining in addition to, let's say, low energy costs? But also, it seems in the Middle East, there's more opening up to crypto in general. What was the strategy behind positioning yourselves there? core So the desire was a couple of things. One, balance the grid, because in the summertime, they use four gigawatts of power. In the winter, it's only one gigawatt. So it's a huge asymmetry in the power need. And they had just put online a new five gigawatt nuclear power plant. And so they have this excess power. So what do you do when you have excess power? Well, you find a customer for it. And Bitcoin mining obviously being an easy customer to use because we have the ability to be an interruptible load, which for their needs is perfect because in the summer, they don't need four gigawatts all day long. They only need it in certain times of the afternoon and evening. And so where initially they were going to consider longer curtailment periods, they're actually doing it in very short increments now. It's working so well that they're looking to automate that whole process, which will be great because we're ready for that automation.

A highlight from Ep380: Now I Realize That It's An Even Bigger Problem Than I Thought

"But I do want to let you know that realistically, podcasting is taking off. Podcasting is growing. I know that because I helped many podcasters launch a brand new show just over the last few months. Most hosts never achieve the results they hoped for. They're falling short on listenership and monetization, meaning their message isn't being heard and their show ends up costing them money. This podcast was created to help you grow your listenership and make money while you're at it. Get ready to take notes. Here's your host, Adam Adams. Hey, what's up, podcaster? It's your host, Adam Adams. And in this episode, I'm going to talk a little bit about urgency. Urgency is the thing that lights a fire underneath your ass. If you've got a fire underneath your ass, you're going to F and move. You're going to start moving. You're going to get up and you're going to do something. So there's this guy, super successful, multi, multi, multi -millionaire, several businesses. And I work with a couple of his friends who are the same. I work with a lot of people that are very highly successful. Something that I notice about these highly successful people, not all the time, sometimes they figure out what they want. They make the decision. They go do it. Like it's so easy. It's so simple. And other times they want to be frugal with their money. Even if they're a multi -millionaire, they want to be frugal with their money. They don't want to spend it all in one place. They want to make sure that they're going to get the value for what they're doing. And this guy, I'm going to call him Chris. That's actually his first name, but I'm not going to say his last name. This guy, his name is Chris and all of his friends keep pointing him to me. And he's had two different conversations with me, like almost two years ago. The other one was probably close to a year, like the end of last year. So getting really approaching. And I just dropped it because he had those conversations. He had those discovery calls. And I'm not going to force anyone. I'm not going to high pressure sale anyone. And, you know, someone like Chris, he's going to make the decision when he makes the decision. And I reached out to him yesterday and during the text messages, it was a Facebook message. I just asked him, hey, your podcast is being really successful. And it is. I want to get your story on my podcast. And he said he came back with basically almost a direct quote. I'd be delighted to come on the podcast. And by the way, I've been thinking about your services to grow my podcast. And here's the direct quote. Now I realize that it's an even bigger problem than I thought. Now I realize that it's an even bigger problem than I thought. So Chris reaches out after a year or two. We could have been giving him more listeners and giving him more social proof on his podcast, having more people that he could do business with. He's already a multimillionaire. But in two years, he lost out on a shit ton of listeners. That could have converted into actual dollars. And in his case, this might not be the case for everybody. He charges a good price when he works with people. And so in his case, he avoided, let's just call it six grand a month. We'll just agree to disagree. He avoided around six grand a month twice. And it cost him perhaps many, many hundreds of thousands, maybe even over a million dollars over the last couple of years. And he says, now I realize that it's an even bigger problem than I thought. So I want to reach out and give that urgency to you. Yes, this is self -serving because I can support you and I'll make money too. My team will make money too. I get that. You got to understand where my heart is actually coming from. It's coming from a place of you needing to have a fire under your butt. Sometimes, some of us, we just won't make that decision to start our podcast. And because we don't get in front of those people for a year or two, we end up losing out on a lot of money. We end up having more competition than we would have if we just started now. There is about five million podcasts today. There's about five million. Of course, there's way more YouTube channels. The last I checked was 60 million. I'm sure we're pushing 100 million. I would like to pull up that number and verify it. But I am sure that it's way higher than the 60 million that I checked it out on three years ago. We just crossed five million podcasts that are out there. When Chris had a conversation with me two years ago, there was only around 1 .8 million, which means his competition is way more than doubled, way more than doubled in his competition. So you wait and you lose out. Urgency, light a fire up your butt and figure out what you got to do, whether it is doing the same thing as Chris is now going to do, hire somebody to help market his podcast so that he can stop missing out on those hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, or whether it's you finally launching your podcast, or whether it's something about your business or your health or your family relationships or your spirituality. It doesn't matter. Urgency, that's what we're really talking about. Chris says, now I realize that it's an even bigger problem than I thought because he waited one year and then another year. And now he's freaking out because he knows that he's got to get this started, this marketing started or else it's going to make a negative impact on his business. We've got to get in front of those other people. It's not competition. It's not like that. I'm not trying to give you a scarcity mindset, but I do want to let you know that realistically podcasting is taking off. Podcasting is growing. I know that because I helped many podcasters launch a brand new show just over the last few months. It's how my business is staying in business, being able to support people that made that decision. And if my team is helping them do their marketing as well, they're going to grow and they're going to have a lot of listeners. I'm hoping that you get that urgency. You make the decision that you need to make to get off your butt and do something. Do something that benefits you. Think of something that you've been postponing. Think of something that you could have started a year ago. You could have started six months ago. You could have started three years ago and you just have held off. It might become a problem if you don't do it right now. Urgency. I'll see you on the next episode. This is serious. Don't go. Now that you've gotten whatever value that you feel that you've got, the actionable takeaways, you need to implement the stuff that you learn. If you remember me talking about Bird Church once and they learn how to fly and then they walk home. I don't want you to walk home. I want you to fly home. So take the steps, take the actionable steps for your benefits that you can become a better podcaster. That's the only thing that I ask of you. And I'll see you for more actionable tips on the very next episode.

A highlight from The productivity trap

"In this episode I speak to Kate Cocker about the productivity trap and the importance of everyday happiness for leaders focusing on mindset and effective communication. We discuss the importance of maintaining a positive mindset and finding happiness in your work, realising that happiness is a personal responsibility and that taking control of your own happiness leads to a more fulfilling and productive work life. In this conversation we also look at the importance of communication and understanding expectations in the workplace. I create clear thinking and decisive leaders who can amplify their influence. Contact me to find out how I can help you or your organisation. And today our guest is Kate Cocker, how are you doing Kate? I'm good thank you Judith, how are you? I'm good and it's very warm here. It's very warm. I've just come back from Kenya and I can report that it was cooler there than it is in the UK right now. That is absolutely crazy talk. I know, I know. Crazy talk. So Kate, what makes you happy in life? What makes me happy in life? My brain immediately goes to being on the water. So I love my paddleboard, I like going out on my paddleboard and spending time on the water just being able to think and empty my brain and that makes me happy and my family make me happy as well. And also just feeling like you're being productive, I don't know if you have that, that productivity hit that you could sometimes get. Feeling like you're moving forward as well. But yeah, my happiness is really, you know, if I think about the things that make me happy, my brain goes straight to the water. That makes sense because it's so peaceful and there is a thing about being in nature isn't it that makes a big difference. Yeah, and I think as well, like if I ever get to do some open water swimming with friends, I'm always quite alarmed by how the world looks different when you're looking up at a duck. That makes sense. When you talked about happiness and productivity, it's interesting because that doesn't make me happy, but it would make me unhappy. So if I was not doing things in a productive way, I would be unhappy, but it wouldn't be a source of happiness. That's interesting, isn't it? So talk to me a bit about that. So what makes you unhappy about the productivity element? Like not achieving that, sorry. Well, it's just a waste of time and effort, isn't it? It's just like, what's the point? I'm very much one of those people that I don't run lists, so I don't do lists of it. I put it in my diary, right? So if it's not diary worthy, then I'm not going to do it anyway. And if it's in the diary, I like looking in the diary and going, right, today there's these things and here's the time, which of the times I'm going to do it, and I just do it. I run by the diary and I just don't like lists because it feels like lists are running me rather than I'm running the list. And almost everybody I know who runs lists never complete them. So again, for me, it feels like a waste of time and effort to write down a list of stuff to do, which you're not going to do, it seems a bit silly. Whereas I guess for me, I make the decision, I'm going to do something as I put it in the diary. Yes, I'm led by my diary. And it's funny, I've got friends who say, you know, they have other friends who will say they're going to do something and then don't, but if it goes in the diary, I'm almost like I'm controlled by the diary. I'm like, I'm there, I'm committed and I'm in. And if I don't make it, I move it. But you move it. You go, I can't do that today. So I'll move that. Yeah, absolutely. But I am a list maker as well. I've definitely had to learn that there are two things. One is that really there should only be two or three things on your list, right, each day because then you actually do feel like you tick them off. But the list is always going to be there. So I seem to have wrestled with that slight disappointment of not getting things done is now replaced by, you know, it's okay to step away from the list. It's almost just a tool for me to remember, you know, I'm actually more afraid of forgetting. That makes me unhappy when I forget. So actually having the list is a useful tool, I suppose. Yeah, I think for me, the very few times I'm on a list is if there are things that is a discrete thing, so like if I'm designing a new website, and then I might start putting things on the list of things to do, but in my head, I call them, it's my snagging list. Yes, I like that. So it's things that is like, you know, it's the snagging list as opposed to a list of stuff to do, but then that maybe that's just the way my brain works. Yeah. And you have to find that. I mean, I do think that there's a level of, especially for business owners, we do fall into the productivity trap, don't we, in terms of having to get things done, like feeling like we've moved the needle every single day is the key to the happiness. As you just said then, like if you have a list and you don't tick things off, it can be a real source of disappointment and unhappiness. So whatever works for you, really, you know, the biggest trap that people fall into, I think, with lists is that you write this huge long list and you forget to do what you do, which is allocate the time to the task. And then it's always very frustrating when it takes a lot longer than you were expecting it to, you know, but at least if it, you know, I am exactly like you, if it goes in my diary, it gets done. And if it's on the list and it doesn't get done, well, you know, it'll find a place in the diary and wait till tomorrow. I think that's what you said. There was a key, allocating time. So I think I've got a project to do. I will allocate the time and put multiple points in the diary of the amount of hours I think it would take. Yeah. Whereas I think you're right. You look at a list and somebody says, I don't know, I don't know what people list like, clean house or something. It could be 10 minutes or five days, couldn't it? Yeah. And that's where the frustration comes because, I mean, it's the time management thing, isn't it? It's like, I remember starting in work and having to learn how to manage my time by writing lists of, well, tracking what I was doing in the day versus how long I think things took me. And that's where the wrestle, I think, of unhappiness comes because you can only disappoint yourself when you're setting yourself up to fail. If you haven't actually assessed what it is that you want to achieve and how long that's going to take you and have got good at understanding yourself, then that's when the disappointment and the unhappiness flies in, I imagine, because you're constantly just looking at all the things you've not achieved.

Solidify your trust in the world of artificial intelligence and the world of artificial intelligence. We'll see you there. Hello, welcome back to the MiningPod. I'm Will Foxley, joined today by Rajeev and Varun from Auradine. Thank you so much for joining today. We're really excited to talk about the new ASIC product you guys are bringing to the market. How are you guys doing? Doing great. Thanks for having us, Will. Definitely. You know, the market's clamoring to know more about you guys. The first time I heard about you was from someone who reads into Marathon Digital's deep SEC letters that they put out there, their filings. And they're like, what is this company Auradine? What's going on with this? And people are wondering about it. And then we found out this summer, you guys were public, you guys raised $81 million and there's a lot of momentum around the product you guys are bringing to market. So that's why we're having you on the show today because people have a lot of questions. I'm sure you guys are excited to start producing a new miner for the Bitcoin mining market. So let's just start there. If we could get an intro for both you guys, like your past backgrounds, what Auradine is doing, and then also on the product. My name is Rajeev Kimani. I am a Silicon Valley technology executive and entrepreneur. I've been in Silicon Valley for 30 plus years. Have been involved in multiple successful startup companies, as well as being a C -level executive in public companies. My background is in computer science and engineering, and then also an MBA from Stanford. And this is my fourth startup that we believe is going to be bigger and better than those other companies before this. Yeah, my name is Barun Kaur. So my last company was Palo Alto Networks. I was in the founding team and did two more startups before that. And I started my career at Motorola after I finished my PhD. Awesome. Thanks for that background. Fortune just did a great piece on you guys for like detailing the company. And it started from the question like, how did this company raise $81 million just like on the background here? And maybe you guys have some disagreements with that, but that aside, I like the ending of the whole fortune piece, which we'll link in the show notes, which is, and you guys are coming into a crowded market and raise a lot of money based on your background, based on the things that you guys have built before and as exited from successfully. So with that being said, let's talk about Auradine, the product that you guys are bringing to market and where you see it fitting into the competition landscape. Yeah, we started Auradine with a big vision and the vision was to build an infrastructure company for the next generation of the web infrastructure. And we believe that blockchain AI and privacy are fundamental building blocks that will really revolutionize how we all work and play. And we think that as we started to look at these spaces, we started with blockchain Bitcoin being the biggest blockchain and the most successful that there is. And then during that process, we connected with marathon. And what we said is, what can we do that's innovative and different than what has existed before us. And prior to us, as you know, what has happened is that Bitcoin mining has gone from CPU's to GPU's to ASICs. And then all of the ASIC providers have moved, have essentially been Chinese companies. And so what we saw was two things. One is that we need to provide a very robust US supplier of this technology, which is very important, especially for US and North American miners in general. So that was a very important aspect. But the second aspect is, was to do something that is much more symbiotic and constructive for the energy ecosystem. And so we have done a lot of innovation in bringing out this product, which is our very first product. It's the first four nanometer ASIC in the world. And we've executed extremely fast when people look at us that literally within from start to getting a product out in the market is not much greater than a year. But we have executed extremely fast on this. As you can imagine, we have an amazing roadmap in front of us. And we have some amazing capabilities in our first product. So we are super excited to bring the Teraflux mining product line to market. Awesome. Yeah. So it's kind of going on that whole line. Tell me a little bit about like the market you guys are building in. I noticed that you guys are building within the US, as opposed to Bitmain and others who are building mostly out of East Asia. Bitmain of course has moved its facilities a lot of times and they're mostly out of Malaysia. But then even like the chips themselves are coming out of Taiwan or in the case of MicroBT, they're coming out of South Korea. Tell me about your guys' supply chain, where you guys get your ASIC parts and how you guys choose to manufacture your whole machine. Yes. So I'll give an overview and Varun can add to it. But essentially, well, first of all, we are a US company. So we are a US incorporated company. Secondarily, the chip design is entirely done in the US. So we are based in Silicon Valley. All of our engineers are based here. So that's a second very important piece of it. So all of the intellectual property, the second. The third thing that we are doing is that we are, in terms of the foundries, we are working with the leading foundries. But what we paid extra attention to is that whatever technology that we use has a manufacturing plant in the United States. Now, turns out the two leading foundries, TSMC and Samsung, both have US manufacturing locations. And we wanted to make sure that those chips could be manufactured in the US. Very, very important aspect for us. And so, you know, even though some of the Chinese companies have moved to other parts, the reality is that the US has restrictions about access to leading edge process technology. There are tariffs. Are those companies bypassing tariffs using certain corporate models or not? Those are questions that are yet to be answered completely. But that's something that we have to do that for the US vendors. Awesome. Yeah. So let's go into the product itself a little bit more. And I like what you noted about like the difference of tariff restrictions. I think the geopolitical issue with ASIC importation itself is an under discussed topic. So from what we're seeing from public numbers right now, it looks like you guys released 22 joules per tariff for this machine with a plus or minus 8%. Curious a little bit more about some of these details. You guys can take this question as you want. Is this on the chip level or the system level? What do you think about that 8 % deviation from the 22 joules per tariff hash? Is that like higher or lower than you're seeing from competitors? And then from there, let's talk about the four nanometer chip that you guys are working on. Yeah. So this is the first product is four nanometers. The specs that we've done are at a system level, not at a chip level, because at the end of the day, customers care about system level specs. And then the plus or minus 8%, what happens is when you're in the leading edge process technology node and you're building the silicon, when you're manufacturing the silicon, there's a deviation in the capabilities of the silicon. And so that is really to capture that. Now, in terms of our competitors, we've seen numbers that are plus or minus five, and actually in other cases, plus or minus 10 % as well. Now we are early in the game. So as we get more and more learnings from building larger quantities of products, we can refine those numbers, make it a little more tighter. We may be able to improve some of these efficiency numbers as well, but we are coming from the point of view of being somewhat conservative. Other vendors before us have tried to be aggressive and then have missed expectations. And we hear that from customers. And so our goal based on our prior track records is to try to see if we can be somewhat conservative and delight people on the upside. So that's our philosophy. Barun, anything? No, I think that's... Great. I don't know if you guys have released these numbers and it'd be curious to see if you have or have not, but hash rate and then power at the wall. Have you guys discussed those publicly yet? Yeah, the hash rates, you know what, the world before our product, which is up till now, is that typically people give you a miner that runs at a certain terahash rate and has a certain efficiency. And what happens is that today, if you want to be able to go up and down, people refer to that as overclock or underclock. That requires either a firmware change or a different firmware, or you have to change the control board, or you have to write software on top of it to turn on and off these systems very kludgy. It's really, I would say it's still in the dark ages, so to speak, relative to the rest of the technology infrastructure. And that's because Bitcoin came from being more of a hobbyist product to the data center scale product. And it has done a bunch of batch work along the way. What we have in our systems is we have built in from the ground up the capability to go up and down in terahash rates, all the way from zero to 185 in our air -cooled systems, in our immersion systems to much higher numbers, some of which we haven't disclosed. And you can do that very fast. And that's super important for people who want to work with energy partners to bring down energy consumption and take advantage of some of those curtailment related economics that we get in a very rapid timeframe. So we have all of those capabilities built into the system. We refer to that as energy tune. It's patented technology. And I think people are going to love it when they see it. So we've done that. But in addition, what we've also done is we've made sure that these systems keep operating at high temperature ranges, which again is critical, as you know, in certain parts of the country, temperatures are getting hotter than they used to be, and miners are shut down for 10, 20, 30 percent of the time. In our case, it will keep running and will keep hashing and keep providing the economics to the miners. Awesome. For the four nanometer part, I want to go back to that. The energy efficiency, there's this general idea that as we go down to the size of the node from eight to seven to six to five to four, it's supposed to become more energy efficient. Tell me a little bit about that and energy efficiencies you guys are capturing within your new model and also how it compares to the market as of now. Yeah. So today, most of the products that are shipping are in five nanometer or older process nodes. To achieve energy efficiency, you do need leading edge process technology. In addition, what you also need is design and architecture to enable that. These Bitcoin mining systems run at very, very low voltages, and to make that work at very low voltages relative to every other product is a complex engineering and technology effort. And so we have both of those things in motion. As I said, we started the company literally a year and a half ago, and we have brought to market a product in record time, matching the best in class that exists in the world today. We have more tricks up our sleeve as we bring additional products to the world at Halfing and beyond. And we believe we are going to be the best in the world, if not within plus or minus a few percent of the best in the world. Both now as well as we go forward. So super confident of that. Right now, as you know, the world is in kind of the 21 plus or minus in terms of deployments. We think it's going to get much better than here. But when we talk to customers, we see there are certain customers that are very sensitive in cost of the miners. Others are more sensitive in the efficiency. But both of them care extremely about the variability and the energy tune features, which we think is going to become a must have requirement going forward. So yeah, let's talk about the auto tune features that you guys have put into this. From my understanding, there's a patent around this. How do you guys look at this technology compared to some of the other technologies that are out there? I mean, there's definitely lots of different firmware options for controlling a miner and controlling its temperature setting. What are you guys sort of doing different when you're building this unit holistically? Yeah, very different. Very different than anything that has been done before. So in the past, typically at a single miner level, you could actually run it at a certain terahash rate or shut down the miner, put it in sleep mode. Then more recently, people have started to put together an eco mode, if you will. That's the state of the art that exists today. And what people have tried to do is solve some of these fundamental problems through putting software level turning on and off of the miners. Not the most efficient way to do it. What we have done it is things that are inside a miner. And so we have these capabilities that are unique, very different than anything else that's been done before, where inside the miner through API calls, the hardware is able to change and adjust the various terahash rates and so forth. And what all you do is you just give all these inputs to the miner, and the miner figures out how to do it and does it, rather than trying to do it in a crudgy fashion outside through some software mechanisms. So that's very different, and that's where we have a patent for the energy tune and autotune capabilities. As you might expect, things like Bitcoin price, energy cost, transaction fees, temperature, all of those are inputs into trying to figure out what is the optimal point for the miner to run. More and more variables are coming into the picture. And to top it off also, autotune has the ability to go to tens of thousands of miners and be able to do an energy tune on each of them at the get -go. And we are trying to get to a point where we can do it in a few seconds so that it is in line with customer requirements where curtailment can happen at that short period of time. Now, there's a distinct difference between... So the autotune is one feature and there's the energy tune is another feature. Now, the energy tune also to couple with what Rajeev mentioned, we are using a machine learning techniques to do dynamic voltage frequency scaling so that each chip can be tuned to get to the optimal joules per terahash. A highlight from Were SBF's parents in on it? Follow the Money

"Welcome back, everyone. I am Cass Pianci, and I'm joined as usual by my partner in crime, not of the criminal sort, Bennett Tomlin. How are you today? I'm doing well. How are you, Cass? I'm doing good. It's been busy. It's been a very busy week for both of us. But today's episode is going to be about SPF's parents, the Bankmans and the Freeds, and their what appears to be increasingly important role that they each played in the criminal elements of FTX and Alameda Research. They called it a family business. They accepted incredibly large salaries. His father was getting a million dollars after requesting it because he was only getting 250 ,000 before. Mom pushed and tried to ensure that any money getting sent to the charity arm of the company had two steps of separation, two degrees of separation. And just really shady, weird stuff going on over there with the Bankmans and the Freeds. But those are kind of vague descriptions of what's going on. Bennett, why don't you walk us through some of the seriously criminal elements and what is happening? There is a decent amount of allegations contained in this lawsuit from the FTX debtors in possession against Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried that at a high level alleges that they were involved in specific aspects of the business and were closely connected to various alleged criminal acts and criminal acts people have pled guilty to. Starting with Joseph Bankman, he was involved with Alameda Research as early as 2018, which is when it was founded, and stayed involved throughout the entire time. The first several years, this appears to have been relatively informal. He directed FTX towards their first law firm, suggested their first accounting firm, was involved in consultations for hiring of certain executives and things like that. But none of this was documented in any kind of formal way. Eventually, in January 2021, he decides that there should be some kind of piece of paper that describes his relationship with these entities. And so he creates a document that describes his work for Alameda Research and FTX and FTX US, saying he's doing a variety of pro bono legal work and consulting work for these entities. What's interesting, of course, is that he was the signatory for the FTX entities and for himself on this entity. Really has kind of vibes of that loan agreement between Bitfinex and Tether years ago, where JLVDV and Juan Carlo was signing for both entities. And so that was one moment that really struck me as I was going through that is that he felt the need to, after providing advice for several years, finally in 2021 documents it and says he's providing this pro bono legal advice. This did not stay pro bono for very long. Later in 2021, he would take a leave of absence from Stanford University. And after he took this leave of absence, he allegedly told an FTX US employee, I'm no longer getting paid by Stanford because I'm on leave, so you should have me on salary starting December 1st. In December 2021, this is when he finally entered into a formal employment agreement with FTX US, where his nominal title was Senior Advisor to the FTX Foundation. You said it was $250 ,000. It was actually $200 ,000 a year, plus bonuses he was supposed to be getting paid. And this is where we get to the fun part that you made an allusion to before. He went to FTX's head of administration after signing this employment agreement that clearly said $200 ,000, told this person that he was supposed to be getting $1 million a year starting in December, and then he sends an email over to Sam Bankmanfried, his son, that says, and I quote, Gee, Sam, I don't know what to say here. This is the first I've heard of the $200 ,000 a year salary putting Barbara on this, meaning he cc'd in Sam Bankmanfried's mother and his domestic partner to help him deal with this contract negotiations that happened after he signed that contract. And it worked. It worked. Within two weeks, Bankman and Fried were gifted $10 million in funds originating from Alameda. Within three months, they ended up getting their $16 million mansion in the Bahamas funded entirely by FTX. And over the period after they got that mansion, they were able to expense something like $90 ,000 in various other expenses. And before he signed that contract agreement in December 2021, I do want to make clear he was also provided with an option to purchase shares of FTX US and FTX trading in November 2021. Before he was even employed with FTX, he was getting large options of shares. So yeah, I think that kind of is a good initial overview and we can get into some of the details he was also involved in, but they were receiving a lot of this type of monetary compensation. Yeah, well, I want to specifically bring up here some things that really made a red flag go off for me were, for instance, how they were keen to keep the residencies, the properties that they were acquiring with these gifted funds and all this money that they were essentially taking from customers, to be clear on that, that they wanted to ensure that that money in those properties would be shielded from a bankruptcy. And I'm just wondering, like, why, if they're so confident in this business, if they're so confident in their son, if they're so sure this is the future of finance, and I get it, you want to shield your personal property from a bankruptcy, but you just got gifted $10 million. You have to know this isn't exactly personal property, right? Like, you have to know your son is giving this to you. Your son is making money from the company. How is he making all of this money? You haven't really nailed that down yet. And you still are just letting this all transpire. Nobody was asking any questions is kind of what I'm getting to. But the questions they were asking were about, like, ensuring that they were shielded from any problems in the future. Yeah. And we should clarify the timeline a little bit here. There's a 2021 email exchange where FTX's general counsel wants to set up a meeting with their law firm to discuss how assets, including primary residence, can be structured to be bankruptcy remote. And Bankman quickly kind of responds in this email chain the next day and says it would be great, all else equal, if we could have the founders put money into property in the Bahamas and sent them a link to a description of an offshore trust structure in the Bahamas. He then discusses this with a lawyer in the Bahamas, another Stanford law professor, and his brother -in -law, and then ends up saying something we might use when we buy property in the Bahamas. And the reason I'm belaboring this point is because it happens, I think, about a year before they actually end up getting the house. And then, five months before they get the house, there's another thing that happens, and that's that they apply for residency in the Bahamas, permanent residency in the Bahamas. In order for them to get that, there's a $15 ,000 fee. That's also paid by FTX. And so I think what that kind of shows is this kind of series of planning that went into them eventually getting this mansion. They started discussing how to structure this about a year before, and I don't think they ended up using those trusts, at least not at the time of bankruptcy. They had already gotten their residency months before they got the property, and then they got the property. They wanted to benefit from this. There's no doubt about that. I mean, there is no doubt. I just want to be clear, and we're going to link to the very thorough protest article that goes over all of this, but it is very obvious. I think before we get to the crux of this, I first want to delve into this a little bit more. So Stanford yesterday decided that they were going to return all of the donated funds from this family, which amounted to $5 .5 million, which is a lot. I mean, I know that they get a shit, a metric shit ton of cash every year, but the idea that they're getting $5 .5 million in a single year from one family, one company, you know, essentially one family. That's how you get your name on a building and stuff like that. So they were donating a ton of money to this educational institution. All I want to say is that I think Stanford is disgusting. I think we see this in a bunch of these higher education, these private institutions, probably equally common in great public universities as well, but the ones that we hear about are like MIT or Harvard or Stanford accepting money from Jeffrey Epstein or accepting money from these guys, and then, oh, okay, you're returning it. Great. Well, you know why you're returning it? Because you got caught. That's why you're returning it. You're not returning it because you thought it was the right thing to do. Now that it's all coming out in these court documents, Stanford's giving the money back. They didn't do it one minute before that happened, though. Isn't that interesting? And I, you know, I think you should get into kind of the details of those donations, which there were many over this period, but like, oh, what a nasty, nasty way for a university to operate. I think the elite private colleges are at a special risk for kind of this because so much of their, like, existing structure is based around taking in cash and converting it to some vague elite authority. Speaking specifically about the donations from FTX to Stanford that appear to have been directed by Joseph Bankman, there was one that came from Paperbird directly to Stanford University. And this one was interesting because there was a lot of discussion about which entity to use. And what Bankman ends up saying is that he thought it should come from Paperbird, which was one of the entities that Sam Bankman -Fried owned that held most of the stock for FTX that investors were buying into. The corporate structure of FTX is a mind fuck. But this shows Bankman was aware of parts of the mind fuck. He says Paperbird can use the deduction. And when he discusses alternatives, he says we can have another entity loan Paperbird money, but that requires some paperwork. Eventually they get it all sorted out. FTX transfers money to Paperbird into a newly set up bank account, which immediately sends that money on to Stanford. There was another four million dollar donation to a Stanford fund for pandemic preparedness that he described as pretty much a no brainer. Bitcoin were transferred from Alameda Research's FTX account eventually. There was another series of donations where it was proposed that they give 1 .5 million from the FTX Foundation to Stanford College. However, the initial 500 ,000 for this came from an Alameda Research bank account, and the second 500 ,000 came from an FTX US bank account. There was another donation they did for a Stanford blockchain conference so they could sponsor it. That one was only 10k. But again, it kind of points towards how Bankman saw these entities as interchangeable. He said 10k is so little it doesn't really matter. So if we think that having FTX US is easier or safer for some reason, we should just do that. And what's most interesting is you talked about your name on a building. And there was a Stanford University employee who provided comment as part of this lawsuit. And this Stanford University employee apparently says that internally in Stanford, these donations were categorized as directed by the Bankman -Frieds. And like when they specifically got the big $4 million pandemic preparedness donation from Alameda, this person even reached out, should this one be categorized like the rest as from you all? Or is this one somehow different? And so yeah, I think that those donations kind of point towards how they were specifically using these commingled customer and client funds from across all these different entities in this self -promotional activity of giving these donations. Yep, there's more to where this money went, how much was spent, why they were in control of this. But I think the question that everybody wants to ask and is wondering about is how are they not being criminally charged with anything yet? And will they? I think we should hold off on that question for just a moment, because I want to talk about how Joseph Bankman also made sure other people he was related to and friends with got paid while he was in this position, because I think that's kind of fun. They talk about one example where he got a Stanford law student a free trip to the French Grand Prix tickets to the race so they could go and visit that. But I think the more interesting one was a hackathon that they had planned that was run by his sister. Bankman freed Sam's aunt. They hired her at a rate of $14 ,000 a month to prepare the FTX million -dollar hackathon and crypto summit held at the Miami Heat Arena, which was the one they put their name on briefly. They spent a total of $2 .3 million on this event, which was attended by 1 ,200 people. They were spending crazy amounts. They said she was authorized to spend like without a budget, whatever it was needed to get this event done. There was so much of this kind of like self -enrichment here that we'll get to your question as to how are they not being criminally charged. That's just grift. Yeah, obviously. The other person we need to talk about, of course, is Barbara. Barbara Freed, Sam Bankman Freed's mother. In her specific role, she, as you alluded to at the very beginning of this episode, described herself as her son's partner in crime of the non -criminal sort. And Sam made sure to sing her praises to his team, making known to her that he intended to rely on her direction regarding who to give to, how much to give to, and how it should be disclosed and told them that it would be good for them to follow her advice as well. And what seems really interesting is she seemed to have a great deal of control. The lawsuit even alleges she was able to unilaterally commit funds of Sam Bankman Freed's to her political action committee, Mind the Gap, meaning without Sam's authorization, she was able to take Sam's money donated in Sam's name to her political action committee, which is a great deal of trust. And even inside her own committee, when she had to talk about some of these donations, she would say things like, I don't know exactly what interconnected entity he sent the money from, but the business is real and revenue -generating, which again, I think, points towards kind of the interchangeability of these entities for these folks. What I think really gets interesting is Nishad Singh, who has already pled guilty for conspiracy to defraud the federal election committee, as well as a variety of other conspiracy charges. He was one of the people who appears to have served as effectively a straw -man donor for Sam Bankman Freed, and was advised in this process by Barbara Freed, Sam's mother. At one point when they were discussing donations to her organization Mind the Gap, and she suggested that, now that my connection to Sam is publicly known, because we don't want to create the impression that funding MTG is a family affair, as opposed to a collective effort by many people, including some mystery guy Nishad Singh, which is when she was suggesting that on their end, they would prefer if his name was the one that was donating to Mind the Gap instead of Sam Bankman Freed's. And similarly, she was worried about a lot of their political donations. There's a really telling one, where she's warning him in an email, And again, later, just the last one to really put kind of a cherry on top of her seeming knowledge of some of the criminal acts that Nishad Singh has pled guilty to. She said, And I think this, as well as some of the more specific tax advice that Bankman Freed was giving on FTX their specific finances and stuff like that, point towards potential knowledge of criminal acts. I tweeted out shortly after I read through this lawsuit, or as I was about halfway through reading this lawsuit, if I'm being honest, And as you alluded to previously, that is kind of what this feels like. It feels like these two law professors, who should have known better, had high -level knowledge of things that people have already pled guilty to, and were deeply involved in the business. Bankman specifically was even mentioned on an internal document as a member of the management of FTXUS, along with only a few other names. They had knowledge, they were inside the organization, and they had some amount of presence. One last thing that I think really hammers that home. When we went to consensus, and we talked about this in our episode that we did after that, Anthony Scaramucci was talking about his experiences in the lead -up to and aftermath of the FTX collapse. And one thing he said that seemed to be corroborated in the lawsuit is that Bankman was involved in them attempting to get the emergency funding. And as we said, and we shared the audio clip of Scaramucci saying it, Bankman apparently told Scaramucci, Anthony or intimated to him, that there was an asset liability mismatch at FTX. What happened to me is I was actually speaking in Sarasota, Florida. There was rumblings that day, I think it was November the 6th or something like that, or 7th. The Monday was the 7th. And then I got back to New York and I spoke to Sam's dad about the problem, and it was intimated to me that it was an asset liability mismatch, that they were leading redemptions and there were assets available, but they weren't necessarily liquid, and they needed time to get the liquidity, and they were looking for some rescue plans. And so at that time, I was a good citizen and a partner in the business. In fact, they owned a piece of my business. I was certainly trying to help them on their fundraising round.

A highlight from A New Point Of View (The Basin)

"I'm coming to you now from the basin This is a special bonus teaching that I recorded just for you to break it down a little more Take it a little deeper. I hope you enjoy this overflow message. Let me know. Let's go Since I'm saying there's so much more to the story I just want to point out that so much more to the story May not just mean that it isn't finished yet like that. There's more to come but it also as a phrase could mean The story as it has been so far is much different Than what you've been told about it because in storytelling point of view is everything so I want to talk about that point of view is everything Point of view is everything Have you ever had a situation that felt really big to you in one moment and really small in the next what was different? You know the situation obviously can change but let's say it didn't have you ever had a situation That felt in the moment like the biggest thing in the world later you saw That kept me up at night that Okay, it's probably That the point of view changed the point of view changes sometimes because of you changing sometimes the point of view changes because of you as You change the way you see things changes as you mature as you grow as you get tools You should be able to look back over your life and go oh Wow, I was a jerk there and you don't even have to necessarily Call the person and say I was a jerk four and a half years ago But at least to know it moving forward and sometimes you make Repairs in relationships and sometimes it would do more harm to open an old wound But see the point of view changes Because of you changing and if you don't let God change you that's where you get stuck in a story you go Man this always happens to me and never gets my way and everybody always picks on me What is the Why is everybody always picking on me character, maybe you can put it in the comments for me, I don't remember but you know point of view is everything when it comes to I A friend was telling somebody the other day About working with a certain individual and I was like it was awesome. They came in they gave their all it was incredible Person sitting in the room didn't look like they were on the same page as me this person who had come in and worked with Me I had seen right they were they were all in they were going hard The the person in the room had been involved in the lead -up to the person coming in to work with me And in the lead -up the person was really difficult Non -committal indecisive I put a lot of extra strain on my team who was helping to arrange all of the details and so You know in that particular situation The person that was sitting in the room with me had information that changed the way that I saw the story There will be times in your life We're either an outside Observer or an inward witness Will call to your mind something that you just know happened this way. I know they took advantage of me I know I did 97 % of the work and got 3 % of the credit And then Time shifts the story Because of you changing growing evaluating Experiencing life gaining ability for empathy because of you changes your point of view changes now I'm gonna bring this to the gospel real quick because we could do Joshua and Moses, but we could also do Jesus and the disciples Moses disciple Joshua Jesus discipled Peter Imagine the difference of Peter telling the story about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane before and after the resurrection Imagine he's telling the story they came up to get Jesus. He was praying we were sleeping Maybe he leaves that part out of the story he was praying we were sleeping and I was trying to help Cuz when Barabbas came to get him I cut his ear off and Jesus didn't even appreciate what I did for him He put his ear back on he undid the work I did and then all of a sudden You know at the cross when when when he denies Jesus in the courtyard and then isn't there at the cross and then he's out fishing and Jesus comes to get him and talks about feeding my sheep and he goes on in his ministry in the Light of the empty tomb rather than in the shadow of the cross. I believe he told a different story After He had lived through a few stages of life and you will too you will too maybe at the At the time he wrote first Peter because he was older than he's saying humble yourself Like you don't know What you don't know point of view is everything. I was young and now I'm old, but I never seen the righteous forsake him and You know, we are not always on the same page with God. We're not always on the same page with God's Spirit It may be helpful for us today sometimes to Find those points of communion in contact with God so we can get on the same page so that we can have His point of view You you know that God has a purpose in the earth And he's working that purpose in your life and there is a bigger picture Than any particular incidents or preference there's a bigger picture than your past up to this point or your present pain and To get into that place with God where you can say, all right Lord, I want you to be my new point of view and that means Allowing him to speak things about you how he sees you because God sees you different than you see you your situation your struggle The injustices that have been done to you the mistakes that you've made and what you need to do next and what you can do next Point of view is everything The same Peter that was saying never Lord telling Jesus what to do was saying humble yourself because of you changing because of view because of you changing as you change your point of view changes point of view is everything and In the story, so little exercise that I was introduced to recently It was saying how would somebody Who admires you describe you Try seeing yourself through the eyes of Someone who admires you now that's hard for me because I am very self -critical. I have a hard time Giving credit myself and because of that I probably don't encourage others as much as I should but I'm working on this and The advice see yourself through the eyes of someone who admires you Sounded good to me and a little fluffy if I'm honest, but in the process of considering it I realized that my wife Holly Sees me through eyes of admiration and it's not the kind of admiration that's based on a lack of information Where she she doesn't know me really well, and she only sees a certain side of me So she admires me she sees everything She sees the days in the past where I couldn't get out of bed because I was depressed she sees the days where I go hideout in my man cave mind and Barely engage with the family. She sees the days that I'm irritated. She sees the days that I'm short -tempered She sees the days that I doubt myself You Know on an even more practical level she sees the messes that I make she sees the slob that I can be and Yet even today as I was waking up. I Opened this letter that she had written me she gave me a stack of letters for Christmas and there were only about four or five of them, but I was on the fourth one and She put a picture of me with a little note about me and it was a picture that she took of me getting ready to preach in Los Angeles last year and in the picture, I'm kind of like sitting there with my head in my hands with my Bible in my hand and I know how I felt in that moment, which was like I'm not the man for this Who do I think I am going out to preach to 12 ,000 people at the forum in LA? You Know I feel all this self -doubt and I can almost see the self -doubt when I'm looking at the picture, but she wrote me a note Saying thank you for working hard. Thank you for not just relying on your gift strictly, but seeking God to preach to us And she said I hope you forgive me for taking this picture without asking your permission And I thought Man I need to see myself sometimes through her eyes because All I see in those moments is what I don't have what I'm afraid I can't do but she saw a man who was trying to seek God and Lean into him Point of view is everything Point of you the point of You the point of your life is Not just to be self -serving the point of you The point of your life is to not just be a consumer who eats all the messages that professional marketers Send to you every day the point of you is to glorify God and to know him and to make him known and The land which I promised Their ancestors Joshua is getting God's point of you point of view What is the point of you being in this Marriage, what is the point of you being in this family? What's point of you being on that job? What is point of you being in that city, Toronto? Wichita Houston Charlotte What is the point of you being there? It's so the glory of God can be revealed he told Joshua you are leading these people into the promise and God is Fulfilling his purpose and from God's point of view it didn't start with you So don't start with you. How could it stop with you? He began a good work and you'll be faithful to complete it God sees The end from the beginning that's his point of view point of view It's everything I Believe That God can take you Into the future. Do you remember? The Apostle John he said after this I looked and there before me was a door standing open in heaven John revelation for one Yeah Yeah, that was different point of view, right? The voice say come up here. I'll show you the things that much must take place after this God said I'll show you Get with me Get around people Who not Will flatter you not just gas you and Not only admire you in an empty way people who God can put in your life to see the things that God put inside of you a view point of view Kingdom of heaven is in you And living from the inside out looks like trusting God Even when you can't see what he's going to do Getting his point of view his promise and walking in it Hey, I hope you enjoyed the podcast And if you did Make sure to share it and subscribe so we can get you all of these new messages as soon as they're available I also want to take a moment and thank all of you who are a part of elevation whether you support us Financially or serve with us or just share these messages It's because of you that we're able to reach people all around the world and if you want more information On how to be a part of elevation click the link in the description Thanks again for listening. "Welcome to Gospel in Life. When it comes to marriage, we often use words like soulmate or the one. These words can reveal an underlying belief that to have a good marriage, you just have to find the perfect person. But the biblical vision for marriage is starkly different. It's a way for two imperfect people to help each other become who God intended them to be. Listen as Tim Keller explores the meaning of marriage. This passage in Ephesians 5 on marriage, for the last time, is a slight mistake. This is not the tenth sermon on marriage. This is the ninth sermon on marriage. And this is the last one. And I want to start off right now by saying, unfortunately, there's a lot of people that I've talked to over these nine weeks who said, Are you going to say this? Are you going to say this? Are you going to get to this? And I said, Yes, yes, yes. I don't know if I'm going to do it. I've got to be done tonight. We're done. I'm tired. You're tired of marriage. And I've just got to finish tonight. From here, I've said, Well, I'll say this or I'll address this person. I'm not sure I'm going to get to it all tonight. And I want to apologize ahead of time. Don't be too mad if I was somebody, if you're somebody that I talked to, you know, somewhere in the last few days or a few weeks and said, Yes, I will definitely address that. I'm just not going to get to it all. Tonight, I would just like to talk about the, in some ways, the peak verse of this entire passage. I won't even read the whole thing again. But it's Ephesians five. And I just want to read chapter five of Ephesians, verse 32. We've been going in these evening services through the Book of Ephesians. We've come to this passage on marriage. And we're going to look for the 21 to verse 33. But I would like to just read you one verse and expound it and try to pull the meaning out of it. And it's verse 32, where Paul says, This is a great mystery, but I am talking about Christ and the church. He's able to say all this stuff I've been to. It's all been about Christ and the church as well. If I was going to name this sermon, I would call it, and maybe I should someday name this sermon something besides marriage number nine, I'd call it the marriage supper of the Lamb. What Paul is saying is everything I've said in these verses, you can say about the marriage state and about the gospel state, about relationship your between you and Christ. Put it this way. This verse is teaching us that there are some things we would never know about marriage if we don't know about how you relate to Christ by faith. And conversely, there are things we would never know about our relationship with Christ if we didn't know about marriage. When you look at marriage, you see things you would never know about our relationship with Christ otherwise. And when you look at Christ and our relationship with him, we learn things about marriage you wouldn't know otherwise. Did you catch that? That's two sides. And in some ways, what Paul is saying is if you don't know both marriage and a relationship with Christ, you don't really know either. In a sense, one teaches you about the other and you can't completely understand one without understanding the other. And all I would like to do is lay out, though you could go on infinitely thinking and reflecting about this, I would like to take those two headings and I would just like to say there are two things I'd like to mention under each heading. Two things that we learn. First of all, what does marriage tell us about our relationship with Jesus? What do we learn from marriage? What do we learn from being married? What do we learn from what the Bible teaches about marriage that teaches us what it means to be a Christian? And here are the two headings that I would just like to say. Two things and let's look at them. First of all, I believe marriage teaches you about repentance and grace in a way nothing else on earth can. It teaches you why your relationship with Christ has to be based on repentance and grace, not on works, not on good deeds, not on performance, because your marriage relationship could never be based on your good deeds and your performance. So first of all, what marriage tells us about our relationship with Christ, it teaches us about grace. And secondly, marriage teaches us about the relationship of intimacy to fruitfulness. I'll go back over both of these. Secondly, marriage teaches us about the relationship of intimacy to fruitfulness. I'll try to be loud. I know I've been in the balcony. I know it's hard to hear me from back there. First of all, marriage teaches us about grace and repentance. A lot of us think we know about it. We think we know what it means to repent and believe until you get married and you realize you don't know much about it. It was pretty interesting, for example, yesterday for me, just to hear briefly a place where R .N. Hatch at the hearing said, sexual harassment is unforgivable.

A highlight from ROLLUP: Ethereum Absorbs Alt-L1s | SEC vs. Stoner Cats | Mark Cuban's -$870k Wallet Hack

"Layer two summer is getting hotter and hotter. Three new roll -up ecosystems have joined Ethereum just this last week. This isn't just another OP stack. It's not just another Arbitrum or ZKSync. These are brand new ecosystems coming into the Ethereum layer two roll -up fold. Bankless Nation. It is the fourth Friday of September. David, what time is it? Ryan, it's the Bankless Friday weekly roll -up where we cover the entire weekly news in crypto, which is always an ambitious endeavor. This week, no exception, yet we persevere into the frontier nonetheless. How are you doing this week, Ryan? I'm good, man. Back from permissionless, feeling energized. It was great to meet the community last week in person, get some proof of humanity. One time a year that Ryan manifests. Yeah, some hugs. Well, handshakes, high fives, stuff like that, fist bumps. Yeah, it was great. Anyway, okay, we got some topics of the week, David. The SEC, they're coming after the celebs, man. Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher. Gary Gensler does not like what they did with their NFT project. We're going to talk about that. What else we got? But why this NFT project? Is it because of the celebrities? We'll talk about that. Coming up after that, Ethereum collects three new roll -ups this week. Two of them previous layer ones, now layer twos on Ethereum. And the third, based on Solana. Solana on Ethereum as an L2. What is going on with that? We're going to cover that. And then Ryan, what's after that? We got Coinbase. Apparently, they have a 570 ETH work of Alchemix's money. How in the world did that happen? And should they give it back? This is kind of an MEV question. Legal question, moral question, some big questions. It's a quandary. It's a real quandary we got on today's episode. And then speaking of quandaries, Mark Cuban, he lost almost a million dollars in a wallet hack. Not good news. We'll tell you a bit more about that. David, before we get in, we got a message from our friends and sponsors over at Bridging Protocol, Platform, Layer Zero. What do they want people to know? Layer Zero and Google Cloud have partnered up and they are ready to bring the interoperable cross -chain apps of the future to you. This is what they want to do. So, of course, what is Layer Zero? It's a simple modular framework for applications to use the Layer Zero smart contracts that exist on 15 different chains. And then Google Cloud as the default Oracle between these different smart contracts are the service provider for passing messages so that apps on different chains can start to be woven together. So Google Cloud is the latest option of Oracle's for Layer Zero is served as the default. But, of course, Layer Zero, if you want to pick your own Oracle, that is something that you can apparently do. So visit LayerZero .network for more information if you are working in the world of cross -chain interoperability. Cross -chain, we're moving from this world of cross -chain to a multi -chain, which is different. You deploy once and you got to cross many different chains. So very cool stuff there. David, let's get to the markets though. Speaking of cool stuff, how are we looking on Bitcoin price? Is that cool? No, it's not cool. Not cool stuff. Bitcoin lost $100 in the week, which isn't that crazy. No, that's not that crazy at all. I mean, it's not cool, but it's not like bad. It's definitely not cool. Yeah, it's something in the middle. How about ETH? It's worse. Definitely not cool. Down 3%. Started the week at $1640 currently at $1590. I think I saw a low of $1575. Not, not cool. It's not cool. Thanks to Kraken for these charts though. And if I press reload, does the price go up at all? You should try that a few more times. How many times do you do that per day? Just like, you know, if you don't like the price, you just reload.

"There's a fill in you know all of that and then you have the what's the guy the oh the other the other brother children. Yeah where he wants to be emperor he. He's the bastard. And he's like supposedly very ugly. Is that like a hunchback and all these things and he's supposed to be the evil one because that's what every wife of the monarch does if birth tucson's one who's going to become the next monarch and the other one's supposed to be downright evil and apparently he's just bad at being evil like you can't even do that right but he doesn't have the forte so you just think like it it you know it takes us this guy this turn where okay he's going to. He's going to show us his plan to usurp and take over the takeover thrown like they do in he even even does evil person monologue which the doctor out is like. Okay now you're going to tell monologue and you know. Give a speech and tell me your plan. He's like yes i am. He's like he's like. I'm not actually going to become emperor of my kid is and we're like what kid. Yeah slept with you as as as we as we find out like this is just been going on and on and on repeating itself. So i'm sure there was some hapless woman who is like. Oh this is my role. I i to the child from the bastard son i so and you know and all these horrific things happen to her in the course of her bearing the child and the child's being this well i kept envisioning like some mix of damian from the omen and like the really creepy blonde hair. Kids from children of the court kept imagining the baby from twilight. Maybe a little bit to be creepy. All knowing saying that's like let the handler. You only supposed to be like five. Yeah but it's talking like like a like an old like a not not in a not even a regular run of the mill adult. But just somebody who's i dunno not right and that's not quite mental level but there's still. Yeah yeah. I mean if you thought if you thought are you. My mummy was bad. This is on a whole other level. Are you make in the lake length. They look like distortion. They've put on the voice to speaks when when he's talking about you know. Oh you know. We had a child. And i kept him away from from mortals and he's got his own language and you think okay so this kid is going to be throwing throwing his feces at the wall or something and and you're gonna call him holy in an amazing for doing so. I wasn't expecting you know some some. Some eldridge abomination to come out. It's like how could how would how would isolation like that really make you. That i don't know after a year and a half of somewhat isolation maybe some of us have all gone crazy. Yeah seriously like how like what is going on at like. Yeah this this. This is not the farce comedy. The the parody that that we that we were lead to to lead to believe in the beginning here. Yeah well even then like wait. What's her introduced to the child. And you know just realize realize how evil it is and the fact that it has got like these weird like psychic powers and is able to like you know destroy you know read people's minds and destroy the mentally like he takes like one of the women makes reagion reversal. The point where she just turns into. Like little google or something. And i it. The doctor slowly starts to figure out what's going on. Because he and furbish get separated kito doctrine convenient had to get separated furbish or becomes the emperor decides to anoint him as the god part of like the power structure. There so you know. Furbish is doing things. Like introducing things like democracy in voting. A which is for your. Sometimes you just gotta like well. Yeah can while. The doctor is stuck with the the Like the historian. The scribe eugene. Yes who is for supposedly being the know. The historian dairy kitted very timid and doesn't seem to know a whole lot is vague about eggs is so the doctors like i think i understand what's going on and i thought like maybe this entire universe was like the constructive like an author and it was like an author who just didn't have very good ideas. And that's why most of the people seem to so generic ed. Why they're.

"About it because like the emperor is supposed to perform a miracle wins. Windsor crowned to show their show their divinity. And apparently it's got to the point where they're all like the his his predecessor drew a rabbit out of a hat in this in this one. He doesn't actually do anything except draw the card. The deck of cards. He's nine to one the like produces the card that someone else's drew the americal and then there's there's always an assassination attempt but they got tired in like you know it's just for show so they use planks and it's so wherever for waste ammunition bright or this fake assassination attempt still gets killed for doing it. Yes and it's like okay. It's this the first couple episodes like this. Entire farce of you know absolute monarchy and and religion and making fun of religions who that have kind of lost their reason or lost their purpose and they just kinda do it just to do it and then it turns into something entirely different gifts. I keep forgetting is there. Because whenever i listen to this like oh yeah. This is the one that he gets he gets. He becomes a god worshipped. All.

"Of twenty twenty two And i've already mentioned to rob southgate to maybe doing like southgate media group booth so it's not necessarily pod spent podcast specific so then we could just promote just southgate media. Group shows in general know if sp- specific podcasters like obviously i could be there to promote the fires. Fan girls angled standard In any others that are local enough. That are part of the network that wants to come and do that. Acts like rob. He's in chicago so it would be easy. He's come down before So he's know this far out he's like oh i think about it. He's like i got. I told him what the dates word. He's like noted her. And i let i tweeted it but specifically it was like i told uh sell naked san about what happened with the podcast awards like telling you guys sounds like yeah popcorn next year for speak. June and. Nick is already like if i can travel. I will be there so at this point. Nick is already like. I'm ready so it was. It was fun. I very happy with the way things turned out From what i've heard from a folks who are are in the know The owners Of of pop. Popcorn are very happy with the turnout as far as numbers. There's definitely seem to be a steady stream of people in the vendor all We were we were at a corner at a crossroads For two aisles. Which was a blessing and a curse because people would stop in said crossroads. And you'd had that look of like. Wait what i am i n where am i going. Which direction is more than once. We had people what rome i like. This is seven hundred which the west room that way that that sort of thing make a little. Thank this way this way. This way that way they really late in getting a a floor map So That would have helped. I think if the map up the will sooner so people actually look at it. Get a feel for the everything but again. The there's several things that like fell through the cracks. And unfortunately that's a side effect of the having to navigate with the convention center and the city and the county and the state as far as what would be allowed and what would ins- so literally up until like three days before the convention was supposed to start. They were getting like word from like the. Yeah the government's like you know like the local. Cdc and stuff like these are the protocols that you're gonna need to follow if you're going to have your events how that may affect the things that they wanted to do in layouts you know that sort of thing like how far apart of the boost can have to be you know that sort of thing So unfortunately because of that there are some things that fell through the cracks.

"This year at excessive amount of anime related. 'cause place which i felt like an old woman all day just like these goggles kids would walk by with their rightly colored wigs. That are you know with pigtails out to you. Know go into the next time zone and you like school outfits ordered the volleyball outfits because there's that one animated that apparently everybody plays volleyball Sports enemy yes. Sports anime a thing Very all the kids will walk by these outfits and they look really good but those of us at the table which kind of look at each other and be like Question just only is and you know you'll you'll be getting. Yeah we were selling. I feel like an old person. Like i don't know what the kids are. Into these days there fell. Animate manga light novels. All those all. Those things are actually getting really every not that they haven't ever been popular but it's kind of reaching a fever pitch days it's it. It's just a thing. I mean they were there. I mean there were some that. Like i recognize just because i think they're mainstream enough like there were certain like the school uniform. There's a very specific one. That i knew was like my hero academia. Yeah i recognize some of the dragon. Ball z and Was a no no ruto ruto. Yeah like i recognize some of those I recognize the volleyball. One even recognize the uniform. The i have no idea what the ama's called. But i know it's the woman who two kids play volleyball but yeah there were a lot of may cause plays in the cost contests and actually the gal who won Best overall i believe hers was from an anime. It looks like some sort of geisha. But it's inspired by some sort of animator mango or something demon slayer is it. No i don't think so There there were some people from. I think there was one from demon slayer though But yeah it like eight. It looks really good yet. But if if you're gonna you know where that where that hair. Yeah it's it's insane. Yeah the good kind of and say yeah. Yeah but to me. I was just like hey whatever floats your boat. Just i'm just gonna be like good for you. Meanwhile i'm over here in my jumpsuit melting. Because it's five billion degrees so but anyway. Yeah so the guys always fun. Even if i don't get it. I can appreciate it like. Yeah like i'm saying last week after participating in the their contest in conjunction. It was telling chauncey this too. I was like you know. I've been on both sides of this as far as like causeway. Cognitive circuits are i've entered. I've been a judge. It's not easy either way. You know because it's like as a judge you really want to like. There's like you wanna give it to every wanted to give everybody. Because i'm like is like you took a big risk. Know putting yourself i. It's it's hard enough just dressing up and going out in public even even at a convention where you're going to be with like minded people. There's still i was going to be a part of. You'd like people think weird. 'cause i'm wearing a pink carer that sort of things cosby in general. It takes some guts to do it takes even more gut stander contests so as a judge of like. I just want to give you a price just for having the guts to do this. A yeah yeah so and There are a few times Because because of like The room layout everything. The broom was connected to like a loading dock area so they had all the 'cause players there and they would just come in. They'll walk the path in front of the audience. Stop in front in the dead center. Where like the media cameras and the video cameras or south. Although there was a guy that was doing steady cam dot bless him because he would go over to where the would walk in and then he would be walking backwards as they're coming. You know along the aisle in some people were just. Apparently their gear was stuck in fifth year. And we're going one hundred miles an hour and this guy's walking backwards trying to maneuver and this is not a straight line either. So he's like maneuvering rat shares. I'm sure bunch of wires on the floors how he did not bite it several times. I don't know so. Give that guy a goldstar I'm sure it'll look really good. Though whenever the video goes up presumably on youtube. I think i believe he was one of the pop con media. People did not like outside media and but there there were several times where someone they denounce them they will come in and they would walk the you along the the fronts. Get to the center where they're supposed to stop in pose. 'cause this is the chance for you. Know like mom dad take pictures of their that sort of thing to show off for all the other media for the sponsors to to see that sort of thing but every now and then they'll be someone that just they would come up and just he he going kind of like princess vestments baseball's in the wedding where they're like yo where she just walks up. The island keeps going when she decides she doesn't want to marry the guy it was kinda like that and i could see like the reaction to some of the people taking pictures like some of the media people they would just be like this look on their face like stopping and i'm like it's nerves it not that cure. Maybe it in my head on my. It's just nerves. It's like it's one thing to think what is like but once the door opens and you have to walk out there in front of all. Those people even logically. You know it your head. You're like yeah this is okay. i'm fine this is not the yes. It's a little nerve wracking. Like i'm not being sent to like my execution or something but just sometimes your brain does just like i need to get out.

"Right this is what mcgregor mcgregor's made for for dustin poor year. He isn't as excited about that. And he sat down with bread. Okamoto and he kinda disgusted a little bit. Let's take a list fighting's hectic man. I don't i don't really like you know i. I wish they were home-buying. Pay per view which was empty arena by the pay per view. You do nice nice man. I have a lot of people going. Family members friends who are very excited. And it's good. It makes me feel good to see this direction of the world or of america at least with the with things opening full capacity just a little bit of normalcy back in our lives. It's been a crazy couple years here But fans yelling. It's like i said it's hectic you're in the locker room warming up and you go out there. You have to walk through the tunnel and people are spilling beer and yelling crazy stuff at you when you're about to go fight this man. Five year life in front of the world. It just adds more chaos to it for me you know. But that's just that's fighting. Yeah that's what that's what it is. Look at your eyes your eyes oh no. Dc qatar counter likes connor. Likes to walk out of the water. He likes that right. I can't even eat. Because i'm conor mcgregor. I'm the notorious shadowboxing these people all out. These people are out waiting for mcgregor as he left dinner. But then you got the poor you on the other end saying kinda wanna do it in an empty arena. The athlete loves the crowd. I mean like you said the raven's game you know the crowd's going crazy. How much did you go in the baltimore knowing that. That's what you wanted. I wanted to walk in embassy stadium and say look. We're here. yeah. I love that right. I wanted somebody to run a slant and it just be me and him in the middle of the field. I like that for for you. You were talking about of the nervous anxious energy head going into the last fight. If i'm conor mcgregor this excites me. What are you thinking about that. I mean come on ice me why why. I don't understand why. I don't understand why it because the crowd has lifted him to a lot of crazy performances. Boy that's not. I don't like that you know the word that stuck out to me chaos Remember early on in the show. You spoke about conor. Mcgregor is life outside of the ring. We got it. Yup right the chaos and so now that's the way conor mcgregor gets that chaos back into the arena back into the fight and he loves it. He plays to it right when when he comes out and he's and he's hair right. Everybody's doing that right over four to fight when he's looking and he's like all those things that feeds who gregor is and so now it's about dustin being able to create right. Dustin wants to create the same atmosphere we had before fans was about normalcy wanted. He wanted normal sparring. Vive verses. you alley fight. Field doesn't know he seems to want a more. It's more intimate right like it's me and you write manoa model dozens from lafayette right. Dustin once that like like you said your industry you not stick off my shoulder. You know my mom twenty minutes with also again. Dustin wants that dust is want. I want you and me. I don't want you to get energy from the crowd. I don't want any of that. What do you got to think about it too conor. Mcgregor i play with that tony. O'brien and people in some things happen toward the end of his pittsburgh career. I felt like i had an issue with him. Here's the issue. I never had with him. I knew he played for fame right. I knew he played for money. I knew he liked the glitz. Glamour the lights but the thing about this made him work harder than any officer player. Ever see and so. I had no issues with them because i knew when the lights were only up young was prepared and i think that's what conor mcgregor fights for that right. Four thousand eight enough Oh you'd think the crowds in june. Yeah yeah he he didn't he didn't bill this legacy of the notorious to fight it for four thousand. He built that to fight in front the largest list of celebrities to fight in front of full arena. And that's what he'll get this dude. His crosser insane. I mean there's beer getting thrown all over the place. It's like. I hated like the very soccer matches. It's like those crazy soccer matches you see in europe would kinda mcgregor fights man. I cannot wait until this weekend. It is going to be a fantastic main event but the fight card itself is going to be tremendous you have to sixty four is one of the biggest paper views that i've seen for a long time. You get conor. Mcgregor versus dustin four for the third time trilogies are the best thing in all of sports. Nothing quite matches it. Make sure you tune in saturday. Ten pm eastern.

Which if you've listened to our episode talking about the supernatural. You know that the the the series finale was quite divisive for a lot of people. If yeah it's unfortunate that things happen the way they did because of the pandemic so it's kind of hard to really put a lot fault on people because of that because it was a very unfortunate situation we did talk about prodigal son to people in the audience are like oh yeah So speculating on the ending of that. Poppy of the schedule. And so i just went in and highlighted all the panels. I was on input a a to note to it. I'm like my not at my table. Chances are i'm at a panel. Check the schedule. Minor highlight so. And i even had one person those like. Yeah i came by you ear. But i saw your your. I saw you ready to pay also come back later like why did that so i'm glad that's the thing that they offer. So 'cause betty has yeah. Yeah that too in pastures like i made my own print out. I didn't do that this year. I made a a graphic with my personal panel schedule. That i posted on social media and then realize after i was already there that i've actually gotten one of the panels onset.

"But now we're getting prequel so we'll get in your school. Yes yeah that yeah. Yeah that was just about. God is there. There's going to be a prequel series called the winchesters essentially so. I think it's gonna follow john mary. I think seems to be the rage these days. Yeah yeah one four. But jared jared and his wife or spearheading it. So yeah okay. Picture jerry Yeah yeah. I have issues with flocks to even now fox yeah fox unfortunately has killed one of my favorite shows so it has ended until unless it gets picked up. You know unless it gets a lucifer type thing where somebody set up so But that's the series prodigal son which only which was only it only got two seasons and again got screwed because of the pandemic as far as production was earned but It was such such a good show for being on the surface seeming to be just another like crop cop crime drama type. You know criminal minds type thing but they did such a good job about subverting. A lot of the tropes that you see in tv shows like that And the fact that you know you've got michael sheen and there ju- my love playing. You know this serial killer. But yeah i was. Yeah it's currently. It's been canceled in the ending was just like it does wasn't blah. They left us with cliffhanger every day. You know the the the little fandom that we have a prodigal son read it and the very numbers in there very her trying very very hard to campaign to get somebody to pick it up. And i know the show runners. You're trying to find somebody to take it. But so far. They haven't gotten any from the person. stay at the day. Ender this son. Yeah well no the the deandre serial killer. Yeah wasn't he. The doctor is yes she. She'd kidnapped him. Catherine zeta jones. Yeah yeah in in self-defense. Honestly that was in self-defense. But yeah it's like is is martin dead is he gonna live and they've yeah we've got ideas for for martin whitley's character you know regardless of what happens to him. He's going to have a places like we just one more season two. When you get shows like that. I think you need. I think three seasons minimum. I think because you really get your first season to get a to introduce all your characters and then second is like really getting into plot but yeah it's yeah thing on a anger and it needed another. Yeah just one more is all we rent other. Dr does that two seasons and stuck in limbo probably dead and Zoe's extraordinary playlist. Anybody that kanzi. i mean you know. I know we hadn't introduced me so i just want. Everybody knows i year they do. You know your reputation precedes you. Do you know why. Yes you john f allen and used to be reading my work all the incoming light you know i forgot i thought we were in the Went over there and offering. I haven't seen in a year and you know we caught up and something you saw some things. He saw somebody you knew at a convention. Strangest whose names of there's somebody else coming slowly. But surely the villagers awakening no pitchforks too early for that. Broomsticks.

"And keeps <Speech_Female> you in those circumstances <Speech_Female> that dress themselves <Speech_Female> up differently <Speech_Female> yet. Replay <Speech_Female> over and <Speech_Female> over again <Speech_Female> funkaway is about <Speech_Female> flow and movement <Speech_Female> fear <Speech_Female> is about stuck <Silence> and stagnant. <Speech_Female> Fear <Speech_Female> keeps us frozen <Speech_Female> by keeping <Speech_Female> us in paralyzing <Speech_Female> situations <Speech_Female> that we can't move on <Speech_Female> from. Sometimes <Speech_Female> you have to stand <Speech_Female> circumstances <Speech_Female> a job or relationship <Speech_Female> that depletes you <Speech_Female> because of the reality <Speech_Female> of children <Speech_Female> or you've got house <Speech_Female> payments to make or <Speech_Female> eating <Speech_Female> but <Speech_Female> it doesn't mean <Speech_Female> that you can't grow <Speech_Female> out of the situation <Speech_Female> and move on <Speech_Female> from it <Speech_Female> and just <Speech_Female> like taking <Speech_Female> action. This <Speech_Female> is a can't say <Speech_Female> enough taking action. <Speech_Female> That is the <Speech_Female> antidote <Speech_Female> to all these <Speech_Female> cheat traps that <Speech_Female> we've talked about today. <Speech_Female> Like living <Speech_Female> in fear <Speech_Female> problem loving <Speech_Female> in the worry cycle. <Speech_Female> So let's <Speech_Female> talk about the <Speech_Female> three. I wanna <Speech_Female> leave you with three <Speech_Female> tips. The three <Speech_Female> things that <Speech_Female> keep you <Speech_Female> stuck one. <Speech_Female> Is <Speech_Female> the complaining <Speech_Female> trap <Speech_Female> if you complain <Speech_Female> about the circumstances <Speech_Female> but you don't act <Speech_Female> on it then it's <Speech_Female> going to keep you stuck <Speech_Female> right. The <Speech_Female> same thing is true <Speech_Female> with with <Speech_Female> the worry circle. <Speech_Female> And that is <Speech_Female> thinking that you <Speech_Female> are <Speech_Female> more <Speech_Female> noble or <Speech_Female> you're actually making <Speech_Female> an effort <Speech_Female> by spinning time thinking <Speech_Female> about it and <Speech_Female> ruminating <Speech_Female> on it and your wheel <Speech_Female> spinning <Speech_Female> the antidote has <Speech_Female> got to be <Speech_Female> always <Speech_Female> action no <Speech_Female> doubt about it and <Speech_Female> then lastly <Speech_Female> i wanna talk about <Speech_Female> when you're just <Speech_Female> at your <Speech_Female> wit's end <Speech_Female> you're at the end a <Speech_Female> 'europe and you feel <Speech_Female> just desperate <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> this is <Speech_Female> also a trap <Speech_Female> and i know <Speech_Female> sometimes there are <Speech_Female> situations where <Speech_Female> <hes> where you're <Speech_Female> desperate and <Speech_Female> you can't despair <Speech_Female> but this <Speech_Female> can lead to <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> More of <Speech_Female> a deeper hole. <Speech_Female> This is the <Speech_Female> concern that i <Speech_Female> is that desperation <Speech_Female> and despair will <Speech_Female> create a deeper <Speech_Female> hole for you. <Speech_Female> I know <Speech_Female> i know <Speech_Female> People in circumstances <Speech_Female> right now that <Speech_Female> are just. <Speech_Female> They're desperate <Speech_Female> feeling they feel <Speech_Female> so much <Speech_Female> despair trapped <Speech_Female> and hopeless. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Here's what i can say. <Speech_Female> Move into <Speech_Female> a neutral <Speech_Female> emotional state. <Speech_Female> try to take <Speech_Female> away. Make <Speech_Female> sure that <Speech_Female> in your mind you go. <Speech_Female> I hate this. <Speech_Female> This is horrible. <Speech_Female> My life sucks. <Speech_Female> Everything is <Speech_Female> bad. Whatever <Speech_Female> self talk you <Speech_Female> have just eliminate <Speech_Female> it. Just <Speech_Female> say okay. it <Silence> is what it is. <Speech_Female> This <Speech_Female> is what i'm gonna do. <Speech_Female> This is my <Speech_Female> style. My <Speech_Female> plan and <Speech_Female> these are the steps. I'm gonna <Speech_Female> take. <Speech_Female> But i'm not don't <Speech_Female> put labels on <Speech_Female> things of void <Speech_Female> making <Speech_Female> any kind of <Speech_Female> labels slip <Speech_Female> into a <Speech_Female> tra- emotional state <Speech_Female> i know <Speech_Female> it's it may <Speech_Female> sound hard <Speech_Female> but it's actually <Speech_Female> not <Speech_Female> hard to take <Speech_Female> judgment <Speech_Female> the more judgment. <Speech_Female> You can take <Speech_Female> out the more. <Speech_Female> It will lessen <Speech_Female> that dispersion <Speech_Female> and despair <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> okay. We've <Speech_Female> talked about personal <Speech_Female> and she traps <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> where you can <Speech_Female> fall into them <Speech_Female> in mitt. <Speech_Female> You may have one. <Speech_Female> You may have a whole <Speech_Female> bunch of them. I <Speech_Female> know that. I <Speech_Female> gave you some examples <Speech_Female> that showed three <Speech_Female> or four right <Speech_Female> there in my <Speech_Female> example of <Speech_Female> not wanting to move <Speech_Female> my big old china <Speech_Female> cabinet <Speech_Female> so <Speech_Female> And <Speech_Female> what happened once. I stopped <Speech_Female> complaining about it and thinking <Speech_Female> back ruminating <Speech_Female> about it and <Speech_Female> despairing about <Speech_Female> it and actually got <Speech_Female> out boxes in <Speech_Female> wrapping paper <Speech_Female> and <Speech_Female> actually started putting <Speech_Female> everything away. It's <Speech_Female> amazing how <Speech_Female> energy got moving <Speech_Female> again. That's <Speech_Female> my big tip for you. <Speech_Female> My big bonus <Speech_Female> tip take <Speech_Female> action <Speech_Female> all right. I will talk <Speech_Female> to you next <Speech_Female> week. On the next episode <Speech_Female> five minute functions <Speech_Female> have a great week. <Speech_Female> I'm <SpeakerChange> thinking <Silence> of

"The the the the free officers were concerned. They claim their intention was not to install themselves into government but to reestablish a parliamentary democracy and he himself even though he was technically chairman of this organization as far as being an officer he was only a lieutenant colonel so he didn't think that the egyptian people would see him as someone with any authority because of his low military rank so when they decided to go ahead with their coup. They selected general Butcher this nagy to be the quote unquote boss and lead the coup in name while nassar is in the back actually pulling the strings so they planned they play on their coup and the revolution coup. Whatever a officially started on the twenty second of july and was considered successful in declared so the very next day they sees a free officers. She's control of all government buildings. Radio stations amd police stations as well as the army headquarters in cairo so obviously they had more than just fourteen people they had help it so But while he the reason that he is listed in here for nineteen. Fifty three is on the eighteenth of june. Nine hundred fifty three. The the monarchy was officially abolished in the republic of egypt was declared with neck eib As as president and nassar and the rest of the free officers were expected to become the guardians of the people's interests while leaving the day to day tasks of government in the hands of civilians They asked the former prime minister. Ali mahir to return of essentially become prime minister again. So they're gonna have a president. I guess an prime minister and to form an all civilian cabinets And then they formed a or they governed as revolutionary revolutionary command council with nagy as chairman and nassar as vice chairman So really again. You've got the kind of these guys with like the top seats. You know president prime minister but they really have no power because nassar and the other people pulling strings in the background though and it just so happens that That that the situation did not last very long. I don't imagine why like. Oh yes you're going to be president but you're not actually can do anything. I'm going to do everything you're just going to be the face you know. Don't look at the man behind the curtain and you you are going to wave and make everything look good. Yeah and your people like me here was like i'm prime minister but you're not letting me do anything. This sucks so eventually he got ousted and actually in fifty four nassar becomes leader of egypt so though russia little unstable egypt also a little unstable things are just kind of off kilter several parts of the world during this new sits. Kind of kind of the I guess byproduct of world war two and england so that point had been the world power and they kind of a world war not the not not quite like roses. You know it was kinda fallen apart to begin with anyway for them but world war two just kind of kicked in the teeth. Yeah yes it at this point. you know. it's like you know. England trying to recover for war to and their king had just died recently and now they've got a new monarch your queen elizabeth had just become queenie. You know the year before. So you know it's like they're trying to figure out this this new monarchy and everything so yeah just the england was just like back. We just take a breather. We need we need like the world the five minutes to catch our breath. Leila's was just kind of in turmoil for the most part. Yeah i mean united states. I mean well okay. More more like the the western hemisphere. There really wasn't a whole lot. Oh just unrest going on other than like small pockets. And that's you know 'cause 'cause are the side of the world really hadn't been touched by world war two as much as like europe and asia and all that had so that's kinda why we're like well Yeah i mean we still have the cold war with with soviet union but other than that wasn't a whole lot we have to worry about. Yeah especially like political power now. That kind of thing. Now we're going to have our own issues. I mean yeah. I'm not saying it was all. It was all sunshine and daisies over here but a heck of a lot better than you know. Yeah sure is getting ousted and stuff like that. Yeah that is true so So that's nassar so moving on to Our next a person in this case and actually going back to russia and that prokofiev's or sergei prokofiev. Who was this will actually be a halfway decent to talk about. Thank goodness Because he was a user said When we did our anesthesia discussion Russia's culture.

Well thank you to everybody who tunes in and listen if you're tuning in and listening for the first time. I'm so glad that you're here. If you're here for the you know. I don't know the fiftieth time. Either way i really appreciate your. You're listening to five minute functional. It's a lot of fun for me to do. And it's something. I look forward to each week. Now let's start talking about your house and the energy that you have around your house because sometimes we have tennessee to kind of overlook things we can just let some things kind a slide like those dirty windows. You know weekend or that cabinet. That won't close correctly in what i want to impart with. You is how you interact with. Your house can have an outer reflection and this is. This is something that we don't really talk a lot about with functional a lot of times we're talking about you know where to put plants or where to put certain colors that kind of thing and you know obviously find a way to improve your home's look and feel. This is a really important part of functionality. Just like you know. Finding what symbol goes wear that kind of thing and function is is often called the art of placement in. Although it's often about making changes to your home to create change in your life sometimes we need to change our homes simply because we don't like the way they look or function now. You don't have to have a reason to employ funkaway other than you simply wanna go from an environment that you you put up with two one that you enjoy and the reason why is every time you are tolerating your home. It creates negative energy. We have our energy drained. Whenever we look at an area we go. I gotta clean up causing you. Look in that corner yama gosh anita clean nuts sink or i need to re cock the tub or whatever it is every time you look at something and you see something that needs to be done or that you're putting up with or that you're tolerating in your home it brings your energy down and and that's an absolute truth because when you have something your home that drips that daily annoyance that energy has to go somewhere. So where does it go..

"They're officially calling it now in the call lipin spiderman. And now they're calling the blip in here. So i guess that's what we're calling the blip anymore. The snap though wanda was one of the people that disappeared for five years so she gets brought back and of course sets vision died right in front of her twice once by her hand and then by thanasis you know she gives thanos a run for his money and with between her and carol. They could've taken him out if he had not you know brought on them rush really Your powers come from an infiniti stone. Watch out that's all. I'm saying Yeah yeah so in know tony. Stark sacrifices himself to get rid of thanos and all his minions. And then the last time we saw wanda was at the kind of memorial service at the cabin So So it's now about three weeks. After that thanos being defeated fully and antoni starts death and everything so last we saw wanda she was with Hawkeye yeah talking about their those a loss because we also lost the tasha which is weird to think about getting a black widow movie like natasha. Not gonna win it. no that's before. I ne- y So now we are in our first episode which is in black and white takes place about the nineteen fifties the episode one film before a live studio audience which it actually was. Yes they actually of they did if you if you have not watched the assembled on either the behind the scenes stuff do so is just crazy just how authentic they wanted these first two episodes to be. I mean they wanted authentic through all of it. But especially these black and whites sitcom you. Dick van dyke that the which i you know type. Tv shows and i love the fact that they actually because the first one the house is styled. After the how the home in the dick van dyke show they actually went and talked to dick van dyke to make sure that they got this as the are correct to the way it was when they made the dick van dyke show. I love that. Yeah i mean there. There are some of us over here. Who like grew. Up on sitcoms nick at night or or you know wars run ones and i'm just like i loved it. I loved every minute of it. And i know you know it's kind of its own funny little genre and it's not quite as quite as much done today as it was back then. But you know it's just it's charming. And it's swift. And and the the effort that they went through to to to make it to make it authentic elysabeth olsen and paul. Bitney are straight up. They are so channeling. All those old sitcom actors. I'm like it just warmed my heart that i'm like oh you guys you actually do care. This is awesome. When i love it. The yeah they use authentic lighting they actually filmed with similar cameras in black and white so actually vision is painted blue because actually better in black and white than the magenta lead. he normally. Is you see the behind the scenes which that's in color and you see baalbek walking around with vision makeup on but he's got a blue head hands and it's like wait a minute that's not right but it's the way it works in black and white they did. They sometimes needed to use odd colors because it looks better in black white for those. That don't know here's a little weird piece of trivia house. Their walls were pink. Yeah well in the the addams family the exterior. It was bright pink. Yeah and then you know in doctor who in the black and white ones the center console was was like mint green. Yes isn't that great. It wasn't gray or white or anything. It just looked better on on the black and white film. Yeah yeah so but yeah. I'm definitely one of those people that Grew up with a lot of the sitcoms on nick at night obviously reruns that own. Yeah like i said there. There's there's a certain charm to it and that they went so they they worked so hard to make it authentic assist. It's great it's not. Just it's not just a cheap gimmick they actually put some effort into it. Yeah yeah and i it starts. It kicks off. Most of these episodes have a era appropriate theme song to go with all the music was done by the lowest who are all the first coco and yeah so or frozen and our cocoa has ever been stuck in your head and this music is now getting stuck in your head. You can blame them because the same. It was so awesome. I love all of it. Yeah a well. With the time periods as von. Yeah yeah i bounced around different ones getting stuck in my head as here one. I just i just love.

"That's all right yep And then another thing. We did not mention when talking about the cartoon but she did bring up or some of the easter eggs in the movie including Quasimodo's i where he's overlooking the town of paris lamentable. Able to be out there and you see Characters like bell walking through the town. There's the carpet from latin. Actually think besides bell. I think well the townsfolk is also one of the townsfolk from The beauty and the beast when you bell is singing about yeah provincial life and it's the lady this like i need six to the big big bosom lady with all the kids yes i'm pretty sure she's in that same to actually spotted her first. I well you know that one takes place. In france hunchback notre comes in france. Yes so it it would. It makes sense to have to have those those characters. Although i don't think bbs's takes place in paris. No it's well it's supposed to be the small little country town i think. It's been to be the provence area. But still it's enough. They figure same country. Let's throw those easter eggs in there. And you know that's less design that you have to do. I guess yeah suppose. I don't know i'm just throwing stuff out there. Hey you know. Disney loves easter eggs yesterday so following as much as pixar. But yeah they do. Yeah so Thank you shall lane for the feedback and the reminder of some things. We did skip over last really got into the weeds. Yeah so hopefully. Hopefully you turn. You got something out of that if not. Oh well yup well. I know chauncey he was working like behind me and could here at least my side of the conversation. He's like you're really getting into like. Yeah we were i i blame. I blame the depth of the source material because we are talking about something. deep tend to little deep yourself. At least i. i don't know what they're before. Thank you victor hugo. Just wait till we talk about. Lay ms which funnily enough. I had seen a slight remember life theater speaking of of going to the hitter the save day that we recorded that episode last week. Because you know time so a year ago it was a sunday. And i went down to bloomington to see a life reduction of ms but it was the same calendar date so apparently a february six is victor hugo day for me i don't know It's just how it happened. Yeah it's just the way things happen So but yet. We're going to have to talk les miz at some point because that is one of my absolute favorite stage musicals of all time and i will need to send you a link to a proper performance of it. That's not the movie. I have never seen jackman. I had never seen a stage production of it. I have seen the movie with Jacqueline with hugh jackman and one with liam niessen. That is not a musical. yeah which. I quite liked. That was the first adaptation of i. I've ever seen which is kind of weird. Because i had a lot of friends in theater and stuff growing up and they were like all like ms was there saying and i was like okay cool. Maybe i'll watch it someday and just never got that. I saw the one. That is not a musical. And i'm like oh. Hey this is kinda cool. And then i saw the hugh jackman one and i'm like okay. Sure yes no your introduction. Did the musical is hugh jackman russell. Crowe year yeah. You're gonna have the same response you had like. Why is everybody obsessed with this. I don't get it actually was my thinks like people have been losing their minds about this my whole life and i finally see it and i i mean i understand like the whole story and all that or an of by mike. This is not my thing. But i mean jared would probably have the same reaction you did. 'cause they yeah he Their family goes to a lot of plays or they did when we're not in a pandemic like the theater. There's just some that. I'm like okay. I'm over hyped on this you can. You can simmer down now not trying to sell me on this. Yeah and and let's go. Let's go see the music. It's my favorite aunt. So yeah you know. We love reading.
