The Recession Is Here

"Also, Wall Street CEOs are trying to come up with a new plan to rescue the first republic bank. We'll see about that. Amazon announced it's cutting 9000 workers. Recession is here, Friends, recession is here. It doesn't mean you're going to lose your job. It means a lot of people are going to get laid off at places that are big and want to get small when demand drops for prolonged period of time. As I've already mentioned to you, the Trump grand jury is hearing from a likely final witness on a hush money payment. It was Robert Costello, a partner in the New York office at David hutcherson in citron, who has previously waged his attorney client privilege with Michael Cohen, will be testifying about why Michael Cohen is not exactly the witness you want to hang your cash testimony on. But this Politico piece by the book DA confronts unpredictable opponent in Trump. Prosecutor and Trump, that's from Politico. It's just so crazily left wing. Prosecutor and Trump case, wades into treacherous political waters. That they're not treacherous. They're disastrous for the United States.

People Are Mad and They Should Be

"Fair amount of emails from you. People are mad. And you should be. And I think there's also a mixture, a combination of anger and helplessness. And I feel that. And I see that. And that's one of the most frustrating places to be in, right? Because you're really angry about something and you feel as if you're nothing but a spectator. I was getting texts all weekend Charlie, what can we do? Charlie, what can we do? Now, if I were to just offer a recommendation, instead of protesting the streets and all that, which is not exactly helpful in some ways. It's fine if you want to do it. Just be very careful to be peaceful and don't allow federal agents as agitators in there. I think you should do something like we should just all fly our flags upside down for a couple of days. Something like that that could be easily done millions of people do it. It would be, it would be a very powerful, but that doesn't do much, right? That's something that should be done. But I understand the kind of combination. Of helplessness and total and complete anger.

Spiritual Gifts From God

"We are talking today about gifts. We're talking about the things God has given you to help make him known in the world. And I know a lot of you are starting with me and you're just confused. You're like, I don't know if I have gifts. I don't think I do. And I just want to encourage you that if you are a follower of Christ, then the spirit has imparted gifts to you. He is giving you gifts. Every one of you. First Peter for ten through 11. As each person has received a gift, use it to serve one another. Each person has received a gift. This is what got promises, and you see throughout the scriptures in multiple places, the unique gifts that God gives. And they might be the same as your natural gifts that you had prior to becoming a Christian. You may have been great at art. You may have been great at communication prior to being saved, but you may have been given new gifts by the spirit once you were saved. In fact, biblically, I would say likely that is true. Now we all know that God knew before time who his children would be. So likely he put in you things that you were just good at and then the spirit comes and gives power to that and enhances that. Sometimes you get really tripped up on what are my natural abilities and one of my spiritual gifts. You know what? What makes them spiritual is that you use them for the glory of God.

What Role Would Secret Service Play in Possible Trump Arrest?

"You were in studio for journey the 6 and Joe, you talked about your unique role back then as the U.S. attorney for D.C. helping to make sure that the capital was secure talking with the capital police back then. This morning Dan bongino is a friend of mine, whose former Secret Service was talking on his show, but it's very, it may be tactical, but I think it grabs our imagination. The Secret Service has a federal protectee called president Trump. It is their job to protect this man every nanosecond of the day. The idea that they're just going to lead him into a police station or central booking, to be surrounded by criminals, people in handcuffs or whatever. Can that happen in America? Is the NYPD as Bragg's office really going to Trump the Secret Service? You've dealt with these issues. Walk us through the absurdity of tomorrow's potential event. Well, I think what's clear is that the president will have to be accompanied by Secret Service agents wherever he goes inside the police headquarters or the police station or wherever this booking is going to occur. If they insist on it occurring, if he is indicted, then the Secret Service will have to be present when he's photographed. I mean, they can not just Willy nilly, put him in the hands of the police. Well, they're not allowed to do that. So the Secret Service can't hand over the security of the president, nor can they allow him to go to a place which is insecure. And what is the Secret Service? Sorry. We can't control central booking. Therefore, we will not permit you to take our detail into central booking. Are we talking about an immovable object meeting with an unstoppable object? Well, the New York police had every means to accommodate the needs of the former president if they need if there has to be a booking. If there are charges, that can be done anywhere.

"Big, the big topic, a couple of big ones, of course, but potential arrest of Donald Trump, and I have to imagine newsmax already has resources in place. What do you guys hearing in New York City? Yeah, we are hearing that, you know, we'll see if he's arrested tomorrow. I think that will happen tomorrow ultimately. But we will be covering this tonight and it's interesting just to see how politicized this has become. And I think it's good for the American people to kind of see someone like Alvin Bragg. And there are already has been so much concern about him being the district DA. And this just shows the reason that there was concern when he became Manhattan district DA. There was concern about him already decriminalizing crimes of trying to make felonies of the misdemeanors. And now it just shows you the opposite. He's trying to make something that does this mean our into a greater crime. So we'll be breaking it down on the show tonight, obviously. But, you know, I think this is good for American people to ultimately see in the sense that we talked about. And it's getting a lot of attention, which is great. And

Oh, Trump is the first ever of a former president going to be indicted and arrested in a mug shot. Listen, they still don't understand this guy, Todd. This is an 80 year old man, okay? He doesn't have that many years left. He's never been arrested. He probably thinks it's funny because the whole thing is going to be tossed anyway. No, nobody cared back then, and it was, you know, is 7 or 8 times the dollar amount. This is a circus brag is going to backfire on him, the charges are going to go right into the circular file. You Need to Research What You Believe

"Look toward this next cycle though, conservatives and liberals as well need to be very much aware of one thing. You need to actually research what you believe. Liberals who are never challenged by conservatives to think about why they believe what they believe are not very helpful to their own calls. And probably not very knowledgeable on how to defend their calls. And conservatives who've never had their vision or their ideas challenged from a another perspective, a liberal perspective, you're probably really good in chat rooms and watching conservative social media, but you're probably not going to do a very good job for those who need to understand why you believe the way you believe. Why? Because you've not had your ideas tested. These are the things that I want to see coming up in this next presidential cycle. In the next governor cycling, in the next sentence cycle, the next house cycle in the next state legislature cycles is this. Let's begin to have the arguments in that conservatives and liberals lay out there agreements. Lay out their disagreements and say, okay, here's why I believe what I believe. Let each side have time and effort to make sure that they know how to lay out their arguments. Be challenged, change, move, whatever it takes. Because when we look at this, when we get to the point where we just simply are talking to each other and not talking about the country itself and talking about the problems that we've, then we're going to miss it. How do I know this? Because we're already starting to see bumper sticker answers. And what a bumper sticker answer is something you can place on the back of a bumper sticker and thank everybody understands what you're talking about.

What's So Special About Oil?

"We're exploring a new theme on the podcast called the anointed. Anointing is taking oil and smearing it on someone. And it has a very specific purpose. Foil marks a person replaced that the bridge between heaven and earth. Cool. But why oil? Why not wine? What's going on? So what we're going to trace down in this conversation is there's a recipe for special anointing oil. You can find it in the Torah. The recipe for anointing oil is given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. And it's not just oil, it's oil and fused with pungent aromatic spices and it makes this incredible perfume. How creations packed with these plants that if you just ate the leaf, you would not enjoy it. But you crush it. Pulverize it, we're soak it, and then it can infuse this with a taste that just is like otherworldly. Well, I think the biblical authors want us to see in this anointing oil is the life of Eden condensed into a little dense liquid. The life of Eden begins with the water of life, filling the dry ground and forming the human, and then got spirits. Fills the human. Water and spirit. Marking humanity as a place where heaven and earth are one. And so to remember that place, or even to designate a place to be like that, we anoint it with oil. There's moments when through liquid and spirit, a person a place is marked as a special portal between heaven and earth to bring about that reunion of heaven and earth in some way. And I think that's where all of a sudden all these themes come crashing together. Of the liquid life and the spirit are joined images. And that's what anointing means in the Bible.

John Solomon Discusses China's Treaty Violations and the Wuhan Lab

"Is COVID origin secrets near the classification that in itself is exciting. Wuhan a lab's ties to China military burst into focus, talk to us about the latest things we need to know about our country, our government and the military biodefense lab in communist China, John. It's extraordinary. So no matter where we end up on whether the COVID-19 virus leaked from the lab or not, obviously the FBI energy department House intelligence committee Senate health committee all believe it did and growing other number of intelligence committees believe that. But here's the bigger question. No matter what happened with COVID-19, there is now irrefutable proof that the United States government has known since 2005 that China was violating its own treaties to not do offensive biological weapons they had an offensive biological weapons program. It was based in the Chinese People's Liberation Army at an entity called the academy of military medical sciences specifically the 5th institute. The State Department declared that in a document in 2005. Over the decade after they made that declaration, wide open evidence that the MMS that academy we just talked about was working with the Wuhan institute of virology, the place where we think the COVID-19 virus worked on. What were they working on? On Anthony Fauci's own site. On the NIH, you can find this. There was a study on anthrax. There was a study, a book, a book that said, coronaviruses as a class are going to be the leading edge of a new era of genetic warfare. That's the Chinese words, not mine. Those are the sort of things that were going on between scientists at the Wuhan institute of virology. And the academy of military medical sciences in China, the place that we said was the epicenter of an illicit bioweapons program, despite all that knowledge, despite all that evidence, no one in the intelligence committee, no one in the national Institutes of health. No one in the State Department stopped it. Millions of dollars flowed from U.S. agencies to the Wuhan institute of virology. And now we're hearing maybe also directly to the academy, the

It's God in control of your relationships. Of your comings and goings of your dating game, or is that actually in the department of another little deity? Is God in charge of the success quotient of your life and of mine? Of our aspirations and our dreams of our apparent successes of our amassing of things and have stuff, is this God of revelation in charge or have we delegated it to sub deities? To the degree that I allow anyone else or anything else to enable me to make my decisions, which I ought to make simply an obedience to God, I am violating the first commandment. When I put my job on the privileges of my task before God himself, I have begun to worship the privilege of preaching. When you worship your family as if you are going to have your family forever, you are no longer worshiping God. I want to go so far as to say that when you or I put our families, no matter how much we feel the right to be committed to our families in places that is God's alone, then we just violate the first command. Or your wife, or your husband, or your girlfriend. Or the one you're going to marry. Or your job. Let me end by turning you just a two verses. In the Old Testament, Jeremiah, and Joshua 24, God speaks to the prophet Jeremiah, and he says, I'm commanding you today. If you want to start boasting to make sure that you don't boast about these few things. There are 23. This is what the lord says, let the wise man boast of his wisdom. Or the strongman most of his strength. Or the rich man boast of his riches. But let him who bought sports about this that he understands and knows me. That I am the lord who exercises kindness and justice and righteousness on the earth for in these I delight declares the lord. Is it right to be physically fit? Definitely. Do we really need to stand in front of those mirrors all the time preening ourselves? Probably not. Is recreation wrong? Definitely not. His golf good. Depends how you play. But whenever even good things and good people take my heart, then I have ceased from obeying the first commandment. The final verse is in the book of Joshua, and if there's 24, Joshua 24, you know, the situation well. The covenant has been reviewed, Joshua has rehearsed the way that God has led his people out. He's given them a land and he's done all these things for them and then Joshua stands them up and he says, now listen verse 14 fear the lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the God your forefathers worship beyond the river and in Egypt and serve the lord. But if serving the lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. Because the fact of the matter is, we'll serve something. Or we'll serve someone, and every one of us when we walk out of these doors this morning, we go out to serve and worship. We worship at all kinds of strains in all kinds of ways. And the question is, are you going to worship the living God? Are you going to serve these other gods? Choose whether you will serve God or whether the God you're forefather Sarah beyond the river of the gods of the amorites and whose land you're living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the lord. Can I ask you this? Where are you in relationship to this first commandment? God's law has been written on all of our consciences. "Americans that I talk to use the word God with a large G to refer to a general principle of good in life. God is a cosmic principle or a God is a force or a God is whatever you want him to be. But the idea that God is self existent and he is to be feared and he is to be loved. Is nowhere in the reckoning. So we've got a paradox. And that is that while our knowledge of this God of the Bible and our knowledge of the Bible and a commitment to the core beliefs of historic Christianity, while all of those things plummet, America remains one of the most religious countries in the world. But at the expense of truth at the expense of the God of revelation at the expense of the reality of scripture at the expense of a commitment to the core beliefs that have underpinned all that built this place on the foundation in which it now stands, we're on shaky ground. That's why I say to you, these are days of great opportunity. To talk to our friends in these lines, to engage them in conversation, enough of this being known as a bunch of crazy people waving things and tramping around, we meet people one at a time, their lives are their lives, there's good, there's bad, there's problems, there's success, there's questions. There's everything by and large many of them are confused. Some have a background that is understanding these things. Some of them come from nowhere. Slogans are not going to do it. Trite expressions of the religious right will not transform men and women's life. It's going to take a painstaking commitment to engage in dialog concerning truth, concerning God, concerning the Bible and loved ones that say to you this morning, you can not do that unless you learn your Bible. Unless you know the truth and unless you're sensitive to those things. So when you see the people, you know, we had this thing on the ten commandments. Someone's going to say, oh, Bloomington commandments isn't that a drag? Well, you can say, well, they sermon was a bit of a drag to the ten commandments. They're not. No, they're okay. Why is that? And then you can start to tell them. Tell them that we must do this because of who God is and because of what God's done. Isn't that what he says here in exodus 20? He says the reason I want you to do this is because I redeemed you. I redeemed you. I am the lord your God who brought you out of Egypt out of the land of slavery and having brought them out to give them the law. Why? To redeem them? Not to frame that we have life. What has happened to us for speeder chapter one versus 18 and 19 check them, you'll find it. He says, we haven't been redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold. We have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. We have been set free, realizing we're unable to keep God's standard, casting ourselves upon God so that Christ would give to us what we do not deserve, then having been redeemed. We want to find out how to live. And number one, you shall have no other gods, before me. Okay, well, let's finally talk about gods with a small gene. What does it mean you should have no other gods before me? Or in your translation it might read besides me. Well, it would be like taking a second wife while you're first wife is still alive and well and happy to be your wife. It would be the breach of an exclusive relationship. And God says I am in an exclusive relationship with you. I have pursued you. I have redeemed you. I am your God. And therefore, you shouldn't have any other gods that take my place. Now, we need to realize and we'll see this again and again going through these ten commandments that commandments are not restricted to outward actions. But they are also relating to the disposition of our minds and our hearts. I don't know about you, but I think I come to the first commandment and I look at this and I picture scenes from subcontinents of the world with people dancing around poles or bowing down before statutes or going through elaborate incantations and rituals and mantras and so on. And I say full man. I'm glad I was born where I was born. So we don't have to really about worry about the first commandment. Because we're not into any of that stuff. I mean, we got the first commandment down. You shall have no other gods before me. Got it. I don't have any of those dumb gods. None of those idols, none of that stuff. We're not burning all that tissue paper like on the streets of Hong Kong. We're not taking perfectly good apples and oranges and leaving them there to rot. Waiting for the little deity to come by and feeling like a granny Smith some afternoon? We're not that stupid. We don't do that stuff. We've got it down. Hey, wait a minute before you go too quickly. You see, in paganism, the reason that they do all of those things in relation to God is because they believe that God exists for them. And so if they will do something for it or him or her, then he in turn will do something for them. So therefore, we come along and we do our little ceremonies. And then we seek to make God obligated to us. We see our mantras, thank God fills in for us. We do our incantations and then God does something for us. That's the view of paganism. Did you hear what I said? That's the view of paganism. That's the view of secular America. We don't know who it is. But we figure he's up there somewhere, and if we don't want to find out what you're supposed to do, then we can obligate him or her or it to us, and all will be well with us. So before we start congratulating ourselves that we've got TVs and we've got computers. Therefore, presumably, we don't have a problem with these gods with a small G listen. All of these things. All of the advances in technology and all of the improvements for which we're thankful can not mass the deep foolishness and immaturity that pervades our culture. Think about the best campuses now in the American university context. Those that are on the forefront, what are they doing? They're establishing professorial chairs for earth cults for feminine deities, and for new age nonsense. I mean, just give the brochures in check. Just check. And you'll find out it's true. What the people who put the man on the moon are thinking about worshiping the earth, all these scientific rationalists who woke up one morning at the end of the 19th century and realized that smart they could be are talking about worshiping some kind of feminine female God deity. Yeah. Why? Because when men and women ceased to believe in the God of revelation, they don't believe in nothing. They start to believe in everything. And that's where we are. It's not that men and women don't believe in God. It is that they believe in God's and any belief in Uyghurs means that we're not believing in the God of revelation. And so this morning, if the cap fits, let us wear it. Think of those of us even who profess faith in Jesus Christ, and we would want to go out and say, oh yeah, we've got this one really buttoned down. We understand this. We're not going to put any other gods in God's place. Can I ask you, do you have a comprehensive understanding of the rule of God within your life? I'm not asking you a divorce from me. I've been asking myself the question this week. Is God in charge of your Mondays? Do

"Welcome to truth for life. Today we're beginning our encore 2022 series, these are listener favorites from the past year or so, and our first message is titled who takes first place. It's from a series on the ten commandments. By nature we are opposed to having rules and restrictions on our lives, but we need to rethink the ten commandments. It's not a list of dos and don'ts given to deprive us of our fun and freedom. Alistair begg explains today how God's laws are actually a pathway to freedom. I invite you to take your bibles and will turn to the book of exodus and to chapter 20, as we both seek to consider the first of these ten commandments and also to give something of an introduction to the commandments in general. Exodus chapter 20 and verse three reads as following, you shall have no other gods before me or besides me. There's an interesting change it would seem to me taking place in many parts of our world, not least of all here in the context of the United States of America. Perhaps this is your experience also, but I find that people have no problem whatsoever about being prepared to listen or to read or to talk about spiritual things. Indeed, there seems to be a widespread interest in religion. So much so, that people are prepared to listen to just about any one or anything. That is the bad side of it. The rise of Islam, the inroads of all kinds of mystical elements that attach themselves to the new age movement are indicative of this very thing. And at the very same time, large segments of Christendom that which represents, if you like, historic Christianity, appears happy, simply to set up their booths as it were on the corridors of time alongside all these other little displays of the various religious options. And so we live in this kind of syncretistic pluralistic culture where men and women are increasingly interested in religion and at the same time decreasingly interested in doing anything that makes demands upon them. I believe a door of opportunity is opening for us. An opportunity for us to share with people that there is something that they need, albeit not something that they want. Indeed, that what they want is actually a mirage and that what they need is something very real. Time Magazine in the work of the previous editor in chief, a man by the name of grunwald, who was also ambassador to Austria, wrote an article titled the year 2000, is at the end or just the beginning. And in it, he writes, we are beset by a whole range of discontents and confusions. For a great many that dunghill has become a natural habitat. Observers of depravity would be stunned by the chaos of manners and speech. This is a secular man. He says, if someone observing us from a different vantage point, where to see the chaos in manners and in speech, they would be absolutely flabbergasted at the same time. He says they would be equally shocked by the Haley ubiquity of crime. They almost democratic availability of drugs. By the new varieties of decadence, rock songs about rape and suicide pornography at the corner newsstand says the man we are witnessing the end or at least the decline of an age of unbelief and beginning what may be a new age of faith. Now, before we jump up and go, this is terrific, you have to understand what this means. What he's seeing is that the materialistic mechanistic worldview, which is pervaded man in a quest, a kind of rationalistic scientific quest for utopia has fizzled out. They fired the rocket up. It ended, it has now begun to come on a parabola down. It's going to hit the ground. And so having decided that there's nothing there, now we're going to get into faith. The fact of the matter is, though, this is faith in faith. This is not faith that has to do with the object of faith whereby the ground of what we trust in gives credibility to our faith, but rather is just faith and faith. So people are happy to talk about faith. I wish I had your faith and isn't it good to have faith and I'm glad I have faith. Nobody knows what they're talking about. But they just use this word. And they read it in Time Magazine or newsweek and they say, that's it. That's what we're into now. Well says the writer, we will need a new sense of drive and less emphasis on our rights and more on our responsibilities. There's another Bible. This is just a secular commentator. This is just a man looking over the panorama of the human scene. And he says, we have given wide range to living on the basis of rights. Now we better think responsibilities. That's why I say it's timely for us to consider the decalogue, the ten commandments, because here God expresses the responsibilities, which he chooses to lay on men and women. Secularism, secularism, has not blossomed into the beauty that was offered up. And if you're a believer this morning, you understand this. You had to read your newspaper, you had to read your Bible, you ought to think these things out and be prepared to go out on a Monday and challenge the thought forms of our generation. Grunwald says we have gradually dissolved. We have deconstructed the human being into a bundle of reflexes impulses, neuroses, and nerve endings. It's true. Man is just a cosmic monkey. Man is now a turbo charged ape. And men and women are confused. They're really confused. And I believe men are really interested in

"Devin ninety top of the hour. Jump back into these texans and what to expect seven one three two two five seven ninety. You may not like the franchise but you had to like yesterday because they did a lot well. Tyrod taylor was spectacular. Not just deficient and protect the ball in play. It safe did that. And i think he's more louison when you say that you know. Why do you think he's watching of course not but he's a really good guy to have. That took shots when necessary. I think he's more patient than to shawn. Watson differences watson is so gifted that at times. He tries to do stuff he did that. Maybe shouldn't get the same type the hero stuff. Yeah there's there's a little bit less watson is a hero a lotta times but has the hero thought process. You've gotta to be hero every time which can get him in trouble but he's so good. He bills himself out with with tyrod. Taylor he is five yard flat route. That's the hero. And then when. I gotta make a play. I can't and he did remember this guy's been to a pro bowl now known limitations to where you're taking me you. So he made some throws down the field. His doesn't have great arm. Strength for starting quarterback in the league at this stage. No the show and makes us thursday because he has a big owner. He's gotta throw it on time. Tyrod taylor has. He can't be late him like he threw the ball to burn cooks in that one them as it was one of those lucky balls where he threw it up and brandon went and made the catch while he had two guys wrapped around yet. And i mean like but they look he. He made Throws on job out by the received by cooks going up and battle owned if you become the defender if if you can't make the catch but with that in mind yeah it. And it's a hard thing to teach quarterbacks guys and you know this we we all do is just the approach of trying to tell them we all know we all know what our strengths are okay. We do the hardest thing for a quarterback. Maybe it's for any athlete at any position is coming to grips with your weakness when you realize that. Listen you know what you can do. You make that throw. Can i throw it on time. How do i feel mentally of. I studied the intangibles that come with it. It is the ability at some point in your career to put ego and pride aside. Now we all have that like. But let's face facts. If i'm a big guy but if i were to go it. Inbox the the heavyweight champion of the world. You'd know that you're you're asking. Yeah so no. You're stay away. You know your limitations will me on the golf course on friday. When i was we played in tournament a hole that goes back to the right. I know my limitations. I can't hit the ball of the right very well. Guess what i did. Try to put out in the middle fairway or the amateur donna. Par-five to sixty five away and waits for somebody to get off the million limitation with water in front hit dead the ball up there and then hit your third shot limitations understanding it. I've never hit that shot. So i'm going to try right or if i hit once in one hundred to play the analytics come into play be smarter. It's the same at quarterback. The key is when you get to a certain point in your career. Is we all want to see. All i can make the throat. No you can't do. What mahomes yesterday. I'm not just talking about tyrod. Most cats in a league. So when you know your limitations your strikes even become more heightened and you know how to get to them better. And i'm convinced of it as sure as i am. Anything and tyrod taylor. I believe at this stage now. He'll make mistakes throughout the year. He's gonna make some. But i believe recognizes it. Why can't make the thirty. She didn't throw stafford made coming out. Roll out throw throwback deep across the field last night i mean the cats lead to start making that throat and until you recognized forget the strikes. We know that what your weaknesses into to stay away from him. He's stay away from him no matter what part of life. It is steady week. This man and tyrod taylor did a great job of that and to recognize him and saying no problem it may be a weakness but i know how to make a strength by throwing a little earlier and being on time so it is. I know it's tough to come to grips with because ego and pride get us all but at that position. You wanna talk about getting yourself in trouble. See there's no ceiling when it comes to when it comes to like a mahomes. He doesn't have to get to a point where he says. Man what am i limit. There really is not so you can make every thrower some of those. He wouldn't attempt but he makes them. He's seen results for for guys that don't have that skill set. Once you understand your weakness if weaknesses a hitter is a high fastball. Guess you ought to do probably not layoff it. Yes we do everything you can. That's a weakness. I may hit it once in a while. But most of the time i got no shot my bat speed slowing down. I can't get up there and get it stay at and tyrod taylor did a great job of enhancing his strength by staying out of his weaknesses. Eight o'clock hour. Did you expect to see what you saw yesterday. Well there are a lot of questions yesterday. Sean that I just didn't have answers four. And i didn't expect the texans obviously dominating the fashion that they did The defense looked as good as it did. During the preseason against trevor lawrenson his rookie debut getting as many intercepts into the entire defense scott last season so there was some positives there from an energy on defense that they were trying to get under lovey smith and then just seeing the run game and the use of running facts but something that i was wondering to see how we'd heard david coley saying he wanted to do that. All these establish things there and we saw it diverse units using their running back throughout the game. But you know you have to reset expectations that this was last year last place team and the texans show that they're not the worst in the afc south and in the league so it is isn't energized game for a team that's trying to establish you know. So there's something to be said about trying to establish some competitiveness and You know taking that first step here. We'll we'll see how that continues against the cleveland browns. Who had the chiefs on the ropes for a long time on sunday. So somewhat impressive First week win for the texas. Is it Fool's.

"Were playing poorly. I wondered what was going to happen if they were going to be able to. Keep cleveland from brennan. The clock because figured that is get the ball in the way. They're running the ball. Cain city couldn't i didn't think their defense get off the field chiefs evens terror right. Yeah i i didn't think they could so for me. it was. I was impressive. Cleveland cleveland going to be dangerous but don't know people who quit on pittsburgh mistake because even at halftime i'm like they look bad bingo there. You go so texans take care of their business win seven one three two one two five seven thousand nine hundred. And what's not to like about tyrod taylor. This is exactly why they brought him here and at this stage. I'm just telling you. He's more patient than the shawn. Watson is not nearly as spectacular. Yesterday he was sports. Talk seven ninety. Back to the sean salads berry show on sports talk seven nine hundred houston astros your rockets your voice seven three two two five seven ninety your thoughts on what you saw the texans yesterday. Here's with tyrod. Taylor said about him number. Fifteen to tyler. And i just i do. I've always loved his approach and professionalism and yesterday he was about him the way he played but he sure as hell doesn't make it about him. I was fine There's never about me it's about coming out and doing whatever it takes to detain win and ultimately we came came away today with the win and that's always fun I was excited. It was good to have stadium. I mean last year planning la. We didn't have any fast home in any of their home games just to have the atmosphere back was definitely fun. And i'm looking forward to each and every week just being able to play with a great group of guys who got in the locker room and compete him. That's tyrod taylor. And i was just impressed with the way he handled. His business is impressed with the defensive and offensive game plan. So i'll ask you guys the number one takeaway for you yesterday aside from the opponent. It's not very good clean football. That's that's the most important thing. Because i think that's what they have to do more than anything else as to play like he's clean and maybe the the other takeaways that did create the turnovers i i do. Wonder it's me out loud when they play teams. That aren't gonna turn the ball over as much that will protect their quarterback more. How do they win or teams that have defensive fronts. That are gonna shut down. They ran the ball well yesterday too but i would say the number one thing that stands out as they were able to play clean football day and they really didn't make was it outside of that i draw. I mean they didn't make of mistakes they just didn't which is that's how you win and think about you. Were talking about mistakes and how important you know. Non three announcer or try to keep your punter on the sideline. The cleveland browns and the kansas city chiefs. Until late in the game that had done that in punt till the fourth quarter cleveland. Cancer at one point and then the then the guy drops lit laze around. I mean unbelievable. He hadn't plotted the whole game. Comes out there and i was. It wasn't cold in kansas city. Gotta secure the football tyler. What's your takeaway away as the game was going on or as you leave the game. I think just tyrod taylor being able to throw the ball downfield. I saw good couple attempts. Obviously the fifty two yard pass That set up the amendola touchdown. But i mean just looking at the stats. Average is eight point eight yards pass. That's pretty damn good. Passer rating was one point. One also pretty damn good. All of that of that elite be close leading the league. This year may be a top three. I mean that's obviously we're way ahead of that but efficient. They had what almost four i guess they had four hundred and fifty four and forty nine told yards. Here's here's the staff that stood out the most to things on the negative side. If you'd find a team you better be able to understand that. If you find a quarterback who's really efficient moving coverage around you're going to face somebody you're going to have to give him a. Can you generate pressure plan zone all the time. That's what that's what. I got to see against quarterback. Who's a veteran. And really good. If you're just gonna rush for and not pressure them with those guys who you have to blitz degenerate pressure against a good quarterback if probably being a little more trouble but as long as you can pressure and force turnovers and not be out of position. One thing i loved yesterday. They were in position most of the time and knew what they were doing. And even if it's two or three yards mean the read interception. I mean the way that they played if not spectacular because they didn't like you watch arizona like chandler jones five sacks. Oh my gosh. that's making rest challenge title there you go. We got a little bit of the league. Tj's already three behind him. J. watt right but the other the other side of it is that if you stay home and make in right position tackle. They tackled so much better yesterday. Then you're gonna have a chance to win a lot especially when you protect the ball on one side and get turnovers on the other. But you're going to have to generate pressure on the other side not allow quarterback to get locked into other plans on the whole time. We're going to get him. The staff that stood out the most to me yesterday. And you know how. I feel about rushing attempts. Big plays they made. They made efficient place at one. Point time i think that they had six consecutive third down conversions. I think which you don't expect right based on their history goes back to what does he do instead of force in the big play. Tyrod taylor gets the simple one and then was good enough yesterday to make the big play. Forty one rushes to sixteen now. I understand jacksonville mayor chase. Yeah and they're going to throw a lot but that also is a tribute to the texans. They jumped out hit. Some big plays cooks played good football yesterday and they made some big home runs but they ran it forty one times which we knew going in was going to be that but forty one rushing attempts and he threw the ball thirty three times. They play a bunch of snaps. Seventy four snaps like college football. That's probably more than they will average by at least one snaps. You're talking next week. Against cleveland go. Go watch them and they're going to run the ball. They're going to run the ball against the texans and they're gonna milk the hell that clock. I would imagine the average last year. Sixty some snaps at team only get them in the averages i would imagine the. Nfl average is in. This is in the low sixties is my guess. I haven't looked. But when you get seventy plus snaps and win turnover battle. You're gonna win a lot of games. The total plays for. They ran at sixteen times and throw it fifty one sixty seven until there's one team last year that ever seventy snapped per game on the offensive side. It was chargers. The.

"People with your is. This starts training. Seventh graders and trevor lawrence like i said we'll be special but you're when you're young like that and your first start you lock in because you don't want to be late making a throw. So what do you do you stare guy down or two or three. And what are these great players. Do they drive to the football. Because there is in zones for anybody who doesn't understand that in zone coverage defenses is watch the quarterback in man coverage the defensive players is are on the man. They don't watch the quarterback so when you play a lot of zone. The quarterback has to be very Sly and smart with his eyes. You almost have to be a the ability to understand where your guys are and to move people out of areas. You wanna throw the football. And if they're in the area you staring to that area. And then you go somewhere else and trevor lawrence will learn that over the course of his career. Tyrod taylor was efficient. If not explosive they ran the ball. Good enough all three dudes and even birkhead catches bug dead. What he what we expect him every now and again to catch a ball of flat and make a play. They had everybody involved. They made the big play. And i don't know if we're going to see them. Hang close to forty again this year. But i what jacksonville against i don't wanna hear is people i know like i said i know the naysayers are going to say. Yeah but they played a team that sucked. But i look at it as well. Thank if sucked like the team. They played it sucked. Then we'd really have. They took care of their business in a day when they should have one at home and they did and they just didn't win. Thirteen to ten day manhandled jacksonville in every way possible in the football game and now they know what they got. They're going to get an angry team. They're going to get a team. That should have one and be kansas city. Today they had them they had them dead deride success little plays on the road in a hostile environment and they got beat so they will go back to work and try to get it because they can't go down and the cleveland. Browns are a playoff team so the the ability to stay focused on this and they will feed off the good and the negative. the negative. there wasn't a lot now. they'll watch it on tape and they'll see things. A guy moved here was out of position here. Or why did trevor lawrence make this throw. You gotta be able to get here but if you could turn it over win that battle all the time the the turnover battle and your protect the football. Listen here think about some of these games. Now brady threw fifty times and one and a few other guys. Had one other quarterback yesterday was up in the forties and one. I think herbert through forty seven times prescott. Fifty eight lost. I've never had to throw it in the weekend. How many times guys through a tunnel past. Timmy hell tyrod through thirty thirty. S prescott fifty-eight lost josh allen. Fifty one lost cousins. Forty nine loss gov fifty seven loss trevor lawrence fifty one lost and when you hand the ball off and are efficient. Throwing look at jameis. Winston had the best game. I've ever seen a quarterback cowboy through for a buck forty eight cassidy throw twenty fourteen at twenty but was efficient. My favorite play about this. And we're gonna go break. We'll come back my favorite player. You watch the saints game. Yesterday it was first and ten with about three thirty seven. I think to go in the first quarter drops back. Milks milks at the pocket stays there. He's got plenty of time. The old james swinson. I swear to you. I'm sitting there watching this game in the right when he threw the ball landed twenty yards out of bounce. After the old jameis winston would've tried to force some deep route. Four seconds late. This is the sean payton effect. He didn't like throw it out of bounds. Be efficient with the football if they do that. The new orleans saints aaron rodgers that agreement actors look disinterested yesterday got their ass kicked but here in huston a lot to discuss seven one three two one two five seven ninety. The texans team was impressive. Now are we put them in the super bowl. No are eight guys. Go into the pro bowl today. No but i can tell you this if you didn't like this. Well let's see him against cleveland. All right then let him against the next team. I would feast off this. And if i'm them they got to get over it quickly but enjoy the tape today. If you're the texans because a win like that can get you rolling. It one thing that did show true of veteran team. That doesn't make mistakes is in every game. We saw it and pittsburgh coming from behind one of those days yesterday in the end. The texans enjoy.

"That has never won a super bowl. That i think has the best chance to win one this year. And that's the cleveland browns. And if you've listened to this podcast since we launched it back in march you know absolutely head over heels all in on the cleveland browns. This year. I'm all in on general manager andrew berry in the job that he's done over the course of offseason this off season because i think baker mayfield is a guy that has got as it comes a quarterback he is taxing comes for defense to defend of anybody in the league. Not named patrick mahomes. Not just because he can make all the throws but because he's a threat to run for a first down. Every time he scrambles and it can make plays out of the pocket so i look at baker mayfield and the fact that he's getting odell beckham junior bag that he already has jarvis landry and the browns offense has the potential to really level up this year. When you look at the two running backs that they have in the backfield maybe the best overall rushing attack in the entire nfl. So i look at them. And i looked at the browns and at what happened last year in the postseason when they lost to the kansas city chiefs in the divisional round when andrew berry went and he watched what happened to the kansas city chiefs in the super bowl against the buccaneers. He figured out what they needed to do when they went out and they did john. Johnson was an awesome addition to the back end of that defense. He's one of those hybrid linebacker safety types. You can get you. One hundred twenty tackles can intercept two or three passes but in a seventeen game schedule he might get you. One hundred forty tackles. He's that good. He's that much of a difference maker. he's that much of an impact player. On a defense. There was close to being one of the best in the league. To begin with went out they needed pass rush help. They needed to be able to stop the run. They needed somebody to plug opposite of myles garrett then went out and they got cloudy. So that's all about stopping patrick mahomes. It's about stopping patrick. Mahomes from stepping up in the pocket and running for first downs. It's about pressuring mahomes in big spots. And he might not be the.

"Love. He's not winning more than seven or eight games. I'm sorry it's just not happening. The packers can be as optimistic as they want. Brand good can be as dug in as he feels. He needs to be that he was right about your love if love is the quarterback one if he's the quarterback by week seventeen. The packers aren't a playoff team. But i'm very bullish on. Jared goff finding that next year in detroit. And that's one thing. But the roster around jared goff to me is as talented isn't as close to being a playoff however team as the minnesota. Vikings are and. I think that they have the best chance of any of the nfc teams that have never won a super bowl of going and making that list or at least making a run at getting the super bowl for the first time this year. Then you flip the page over to the afc. And it's a much tougher gauntlet. Because i really believe. And i've said this many times that as long as patrick mahomes and andy rita together the kansas city chiefs of the prohibitive favorites to go to and win the super bowl. So if you're in the afc there's a chance but you gotta have your a game in the afc title game likely in arrowhead against the kansas city chiefs to to the super bowl. Let alone when it wants to get there. But the teen to me number three overall in this list and number three among afc contenders the tennessee. Titans because how can you not love with. The titans have done this off season. They go out then. One of the premier wide receivers in the nfl in julio jones who some scouts boy is still via best wide receiver dropped minimum offense with aj brown derrick henry and an ascending quarterback ryan tannehill coming off the best two year stretch of his career. Ten hell's going to be better ten hell was going to take another step forward. This season having julio jones on one side having aj brown on the other. Having derrick henry in the backfield the titans are a team that i think can make a real run especially because of their offense..

"Of none with one subscription get stacking the box and the met lombardo show and of course we love those five star. Reviews really helped grow the show. Let me know what you like. What you don't like and some guests might want to hear from. I'll go out and try to get them in. Of course february. Twenty twenty two is super bowl. Fifty six taking place in los angeles and you know the teams that are the favorites to go there. You know the mall by now. I don't know that there's a more complete team in the league in the tampa. bay buccaneers. There might not be a more dominant and explosive team. The kansas city chiefs. I think there's a real chance we get a super bowl. Repeat matchup in february. But i think it'd be a lot of fun today as i approach my summer vacation. Recharging the batteries before the football season really kicks into gear with training camps before the season gets her. You know it's common out like a jail on rails. It's going to be here before you know it. I thought it would be a lot of fun to look around at the teams that have never won a super bowl and look at the four. That have the best chance to hoist the lombardi trophy for the first time next february and the top of that list at number four. We're going to go reverse order worst to first if you will. I put the minnesota vikings and there aren't that many teams on the nfc side of the docket that have never won a super bowl and there are even fewer in my opinion that have a chance to break that drought. I think the vikings are right there at the top of that list. I mean you look at the candidates you can throw him in the hat and pick one. The vikings are much better position than the carolina. Panthers the detroit lions the atlanta falcons and the arizona cardinals just because of their quarterback situation. I went to dalvand coke. He might be the most dominant running back in the entire league. Just in jefferson came in and was a rockstar as a rookie last season and watching what he did in your one justin jefferson in my opinion has perennial all pro potential at the wide receiver position and of kirk cousins. Winds up being the guy. Long-term justin jefferson is going to develop into his favorite weapon. And i really don't think that anyone the nfc especially in the nfc north touches the packers or touches the tampa bay buccaneers in terms of talent in terms of depth than what comes to the packers especially if aaron rodgers is the quarterback and he's behind senator in september. Who knows if that's going to happen. But if rogers isn't if he decides that he's just had enough that he's gonna retire that he's gonna take a year off fines be damned giving back signing bonus perorated salary be damned forfeiting his twenty twenty one salary be damned if aaron rodgers steps away somebody to win.

"Guy comes up to dopey messing with money like i said. I'm not taking it back if they got thirty days. I like your own tyler. I got one last good like empty set thirty days if i turned that bad bad boy and twenty nine days and twenty two hours still under the thirty thirty day but the problem is don't come back with pit stains on it right the odor and stains what eventual what ended up happening so he came back. He came to our starring basically said man. I came all the way from the gallery at a return. This which tells me one thing. There's a lids locker room and the galleria. The only reason you came from gallery is because they also told you know. We're not taking it back so once. We had mostly geared to kick him out. He didn't come back. I'm just like dude. You cannot be this dumb and try to passes office. Like oh i didn't wear it. Okay so let me ask you this. Who's jersey wasn't steve. Nash throwback phoenix suns. So we'll wait a minute. The sons are in it. But nash out of it nationals. Air as the coach. He's out of it. Well what did he. What was his reasoning for bringing back. Oh it didn't fit right bro. You clearly warrant several fit right. Hey about center house app. Tich use to the logical. I'll take out. I'll take that. That's that's a good one all right. Mc what you got So i will go to complain about my toe. But i've done playing about that actually able to put a little bit of pressure on again which is feels kind of nice I'm going to go to baseball and friday night. Minute maid park is really about the whole weekend. We keep doing this every single time. They play new opponent. Announcers teams say dumb ass. Things down into the corner at goes land. Plucks it out of the corner yells around added he say. Walk on an rbi double from the oregon alvarez houston wins to odd game two of this series. Fortunately hung another slider and alvarez. Didn't miss it makes you wonder i mean they were all over the sliders. That is the voice of former big leaguer. Recent former bigly gordon beckham who's played in the astros division. By the way the last two years of his career briefly with the mariners. he knows the astros. He knows how good they are but instead of saying well why do you keep throwing the slider. He said makes you think gordon beckham took to twitter the next morning because i saw this. This is also by the way after the white sox Tv crew for the pre-game show is in their studio before they tossed to a game. When ozzy gi and whoever the hill the clowns are that they have in there and they literally bring out a trash can and they're banging and they're saying we're having a little fun and the dumb ass host is sitting there saying. I was going to do this but my wife would let me because i've got a vibrating band aid on bleep. Out of here with your crap. I'm so sick of it. Gordon beckham took to twitter said brantley thrown slider almost left the art gurria throwing a slider. It was laced to center alvarez throw a slider at the end of the game makes you wonder as my way of asking. Why the guys Why the guys kept going to to it. Simple as that folks won't then say that idiot don't say makes you wonder we know what you're insinuating. You ask your up there doing the same thing that twitter doing left and right spewing a bunch of crap in a sport that you played in an era that you know is littered literally with sign stealing so bleep. Off with your crap. Excuse we all know what you're insinuating and move on with your lives. Your team cheated to. Oh by the way you're white sox team has literally been rooted in cheating. They have been had players. Admit to stealing signs electronially relaying them via the scoreboard in the eighties. So screw off it off if he really wanted to be if he's going to do it the right way instead of saying makes you wonder just say it. Say if you're gonna if you're gonna say makes you wonder just flat ask them up and say well. I think they're cheating still or i think cheating and they're the only ones do it. If you got the balls to do it step up and say it. Don't don't don't let people guess although there was no guessing involved. Let me ask you this along with that. At some point in time as astros fans win do when do we is astros. Fans get over it. Not worried about with these idiots are saying it's not so lightly stupid and lazy right. Don't you think they know though that it's going to get under their skin. I mean if they think it's getting on the players snow. I'm talking about the fans skin. Worst they know it. They're looking for reaction. That's fine like i. But i if they keep saying you say something. That's a dumb ass statement. I've got no problem with people. Klatten bag at all. There's no doubt. I just the greatest satisfaction as astros fans and players. You should get. Is this the way they're playing now. That is the way but i get their frustration. 'cause part of mine was going to be. You gotta be more creative. They're not as tight as symptom that the nbc white sox pre game show. I know you'd mentioned if they had done it. You gotta be a bit more creative than bringing a trash can on the set. They know how old i mean. There's gotta be something more to your creativity than buying into what everybody else. If you're gonna claim do something really create if you really want me to buy into an actually give you a pass for doing some stupid. Just as a guy. Just have somebody come up there with the taste and really when we our buzzer to play the astros basketball. Like i'll laugh at that. Yeah make me laugh somehow. Someway that would be That would be nice. If you're gonna do make say okay. That was funny even though they suck it was funny But i you know the moment part of it and you know the astros can moan less the fans because well it's pissing people you just got your ass swept four straight four straight If you're in chicago from a team that a well well maybe better better right guys maybe better get clutch hits when it matters meaning the opposing team so i got a lot of respect for the white sox players but the constant barrage of out. Here we go again is just. It's tired and maybe you wanna change your philosophy gear posing city. It's not working your your approach to the astros and thinking if it's not working they're handling every trash can you hit and every stupid ass comet you make and every insinuation you make and they just keep stepping up their game tyler. Anybody on the line but before we go to break fake sure. I didn't miss anybody now. We are good at seven one. Three two one two five seven ninety. If you want to chime in. "Discuss this just for fun. The daryl morey raphel stone What could have happened and what would have happened. This franchise had to happen before i do. I ask you guys this question. Who's the most valuable player on the astros right now. Probably jose altuve. I would That's a tough one. You can also give you Endorsement right there. That there's three everybody talks about. How often modern blue don's hitting really well. The pictures have each held. Their own mccullers have done really well has been amazes back to kyle tucker's power healthy michael brantley insistent on the injury. I mean you know the being out for a minute maid. He's only hitting three hundred forty one that's think about. That's what i'm saying. That's why i ask the question. This is not easy. I would've where i would have gone i. He's making all the all this i mean. He's doing everything in terms of leadership. He's this is where you get caught up. Actually into the word of value. The leadership aspect of defensive aspect. I mean he's got the whole package goal right now. I and i understand if there's three other choices from other people get it like we've just set here michigan five dudes bad eddie. Know what the crazy thing about. It is the guy that i guarantee you that everybody on this show when we did our preseason okay who who would finish the highest in the mvp voting in two thousand and twenty one. On the astros. Bregman name would have come up more than anybody's period and it did it did and here. We are in steve sparks. Hear them. say when you're talking about nasty and your fierce player at the plate Isn't even in the mention that tells you how good this team is. And just how good that guy is. I mean he's a player what he's one hundred percent. He is fantastic and he's not even in the conversation when it comes to who's the astros. Mvp normally would a teams go. Like if i say okay. who's the. Mvp in toronto. What would you say lobby. Line growth. Right doubted yeah about the angels showroom. Right i mean normally otani right now. Yeah so the good teams go around for them you can now. There's also that thing that will we get a lot of guys doing some sometimes. There's one guy who sticks on this astros team if you ask you may get five different names three weeks ago a month ago. If you remember on this show oh you'll he's gonna finish the top five in we were talking about the mvp and really get the pub possible. You're talking about starting in the all star game all those things. Now it's korea. It's been out to the hell. Would maldonado does not statistically. it's not him but just for his value to the team. You mentioned the word value. I mean tucker. Home runs and rbi's of his avatar. Some of those hits would have fallen early on good gracious. Michael brantley like i said could lead the league hitting a you. Go your john's like you're you're probably your biggest. What's the word i'm looking at me like. Oh my bigger than life hitter in the batter's box who is just can rake but i- correa probably i out too but man i don't. I don't think it's a great argument to have so. I just wanted to run that by gays and see where you were as we head towards mid point of the season and if you brushing at least al did what he stay healthy and can carlos correa a handle all this stuff that's going on because when you're dealing with three hundred million dollars or around there whatever were discussing just us talking pressure mounts and a normal human being some. That aren't normal. They step their game up and play to a level of like. Wow that's inhuman and he's playing a tremendous top level now and then others can't handle it. He's handled it and so if we had the question at least into half the season we've seen him in postseason moments when it comes to money that's different the different egg and he is doing everything he can to keep himself if this continues in major league baseball. Mvp talk and I don't know if it's possibly to say quietly but he's kind of emerged. Whoa and here. He is on a team. That is the best team in the american league. And quite frankly many. If you're watching it closely you'd be hard pressed to say. They're as good as any team in baseball and they're proving it. This ben simmons the harden simmons but it goes back to rebel stone and coach silence the net group in an ownership. What would have happened to this franchise of ben simmons was here. I mean their ability to navigate through this period of rebuilding would be completely hampered by his massive contract. You wouldn't be like impossible. Because they're going to have enough room on the books but they would have been stuck with an albatross of a contract and it would have set the rebuild back by literal years because it is so decade. You can't move like nobody can move this guy. If the seventy sixers want to move him this off season you would have to attach draft picks with him. The rockets would have been stuck with that. They would have been stuck with a guy who literally can't do anything in their offense. They can get away of what she's scared to do. And he's making massive money in you would have to trade away draft s. That you just got to get rid of them. Yeah and and and then guys for him now. How's he going to rick. I mentioned it. How do you recover in the locker room from this. How how do you not the fact that we all knew he couldn't shoot. Nobody said dude. What are you doing. pass up. A twenty five footer contested. When you've got other people need to shoot it on your team but no guy in the league. Passers this up guys. It's a dunk at the rim for a six ten guy over six foot player. That really wasn't there to stop it. There's no way that i mean that's as easy as it will ever get by. It will never get an ease and think about all the stuff all the money. You're getting paid and we question you're shooting and you got an opportunity. I'll just finish the fact that you tried to didn't even attempt it. He didn't want to look at the rim. And i don't know whether to say you're that you're so week. What a what a bitch ass move or to say. This is deep seated stuff. I mean why. Why don't you finish now. I don't know we make a big deal of it. I would say no. Why because in the locker room. They're not they're making a huge deal of it. And doc rivers can't even you're not even committed to four years in one hundred forty million left on a contract i've seen. Can't he be the guy. I don't know if your question that i'll tell you what if you're questioning. He's not the guy and then the other side of it is. You're like when you're you're superstar. Mvp type centers like well quite quite honestly the turning point or the difference was not that. I don't let me find out a way to say this. We and he said we when he knew he exempt talking benefits. You lose that respect you guys. I don't know how you get it back in the locker room. And i don't know if you're a front office how doc rivers walk into darryl maurice office looks face and says we got a chance with this..

Welcome in and how difficult is it as a professional baseball player or athlete to play and relevant your place so good against great teams and then to be able to keep your focus when you're playing teams you're supposed to be. Is it difficult what we get to that. Can i have a different interest song. I i wasn't feeling that one. All right tyler. How 'bout stepping up your frigging game the gas when you are tyler tyler. You're gonna take one pitch at a time. Steve probably pick. And yeah Is this a good team. You think i said last week steve. We had you on obviously early in the weekend by friday was saying that i felt that in a long series and i know we're a long way away for that but in a seven game series. Find me teams better right now and i believed that i didn't know they were going to sweep the white sox but i and this is a team that's injured and overcome and benches playing better steve. You've seen what toro and mccormack's added something. We've seen mile straws elevated his players a start. I mean there's been some good things bullpens elevated a bit. We've seen the starting pitching go deep so with that. It's easy steve to get up right. I mean on these things but your insight on how is it to stay up against teams. You're supposed to be well. They're not gonna sleep. Walk in july and august this year on the road like every team does because it's almost impossible in a long season not to feel tired when you get in at three in the morning and you're you're change time zones and you walk into a place but there's a there's a little alarm clock there now. It's called the fan in all these stadiums that are booing them and Getting them up for every season. So there's no sleepwalking. Into thousand twenty one for the ashford and that's what makes a really dangerous. I think you go into any city right now. That's hostile environment. And they're not they're not going to lay down so they're going to keep the pressure on that only they're not gonna lay down for any particular game. They're not gonna lay down in particular inning when they're up by five runs all right. Yeah and make the pretty found no doubt steve. Sparks joined steve eleven. Thirteen seven in a row. In what was. I mean plus. We looked over in. You discussed this. We have on this show their the home stand with the white sox prior when you had to do with the red sox at home and then you know with the padres and the dodgers and then go on the road and play toronto in a red sox at your back and play the white sox at home in pretty impressive so with that in mind. What's been your through that difficult. Stand at home and on the road. Was there something you had mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Defense was there something made even over this past week and these four games. That was your favorite thing you saw with the ballclub. The one thing that sticks out to me more than anything else is the way. Martine maldonado calls the game in runs the pitching staff and when the astros score a couple of run just three runs. What's for the little subtle things like soda. First-pitch breaking ball the next innings. The other team can't get that momentum back by ambushing you fast ball right away. Does little things that that are really subtle that keeps the the momentum in the astros favor. And i love i love the way calls a game and it works with staff and you know every once in a while. He'll stand up and he'll fire one back at at bell in all of a sudden vowed that back up you know if he does a couple of pitchers out of the zone. He's not really concentrating. You can tell just seems a little maldonado's doing to keep everybody on track and during the spanish at their own right now. The entire staff has era under two. They're bashing this team's gonna continue to to rake but I love the way. Maldonado keeps it together and i love when a catcher is pissed like that steven at the message is as to the fans in the stands. You know you're in between you're talking you watch on tv and you get to see it because you watch it closely as that. Rip it back to the pitcher to say dude. Don't make me come out there. i wake up. I'm not wasting a visit but almost all back to you just as hard as you through to me and and we'll move on. I love that message. Stephen concerned he had. He's admitted that he hadn't been himself now. With the quad injury. The lingering part of this team good enough to overcome long stints of injury. Like a guy like bregman. Can they win the whole thing if he's up and down the whole year well if they're getting healthy by the playoffs think that's the main thing is i. I haven't felt and he said i'm not speaking out of turn. I hadn't felt he's been a healthy than the nineteen. Just something doesn't seem right to me. You know just doesn't feel like you've been as usual stuff we're It doesn't look athletic. And agile and all the things that we've seen in the past. He just looks like he's holding back from something that i've always felt like it was something tightened his hamstring. And that's speculation. But the other thing is is he said that he has all right mill last year and a half and you could tell so Our eyes aren't lying so we know we need Bregman to get healthy and you know the hamstring in the quarter connected. If one's getting really strong there is a good chance the other one there's a deficiency there and if you try to burst and beat out a double play that's all these all happened so they're going to be super careful again you know and they're going to wait a week a when he's ready to play and hopefully you know he heals really quickly that that's one good thing it just gotta get that right something in like we gotta figure out where what it is in his gate. The way he runs it that causes so much issue. Because we've seen guy. Ron say remember we talk show. We've seen ron say waddle waddle around it and never come out so Something's in this causing these issues and to have a healthy breakfast when he's healthy even among all these great hitters on this team. He's the most dangerous. He's he's the nastiest guy on their team with the bat in his hand. We gotta get him to go out there and show steve sparks sports. Talk seven hundred. weekly visit. Steve how's dusty handle this team this year. You think what seems like a really well agreed. Agreed like the lake. I like blake. Taylor pitching two innings. Yesterday you could have got said you know what we need to get James click said something on the show in pre-game show yesterday the kevin nash and fell there and he said that They told hobby air when he went to the bullpen. That they're gonna keep him extended you know they. They wanted to go to three inning.

Stephen Martine maldonado last week Ron yesterday Steve friday august James click steve eleven two innings Maldonado stephen Taylor Bregman maldonado july ron steve Yesterday
