How Can Muslims Support Democrats When Democrats Don't Care About Them?
"And it really is an amazing thing to me It's an amazing thing to me To be quite honest that the Muslim community can support the Democrats when the Democrats have guys like this or the Jewish community can support the Democrats When the Democrats are tight with care The Democrat party has figured out how to coalesce various disparate groups To support them it tries to identify the groups it tries to cater to the groups and it tries to upset the groups One against the other at least against the society I find it totally appalling And yet we see a lot of
Journalist John Solomon on Voter Rights and Suppression
"And I'm proud to present to you on Sebastian gorka's show John Solomon John welcome to the program. Great to have you with us brother. It is good to be with you. Happy Monday. Happy Monday. Here we go and happy Martin Luther King day. John. You're our go to guy if I may. And so would you explain to me the pressing is voting rights situation? You know, John, I didn't know there was suppressing votes in America. I didn't know I always felt as a person who just showed up and voted my fault was being suppressed. My vote wasn't counted because I wasn't one illegal. Number two, I wasn't dead yet. Despite what you might hear right here. Explain, explain to me, what is going on with this voting rights like they double that and they go to Georgia where they might very well have been shenanigans down there and I'm being kind in the 2020 election, but they doubled down. Could you break down what they want to vote for? And what they will end up with down in D.C., please. Yeah. Well, first off, the bill is in some dire trouble because there are at least four Democrats that are holding the line on it. Joe Manchin, Kirsten sinema, Mark Kelly and I'm thinking that the fourth one now just gave my mind. But they've got a little bit of opposition in their own party, particularly in these Democrats that are in the swing states. And so the bill may not happen. It may go the road of the BBB and some of the other Biden democratic plans. But the big thing that Joe Biden talks about being Jim Crow two is the idea that it is inherently racist. It is voter disenfranchising to ask someone to show their ID before they vote or descend in an absentee ballot. And this is an interesting thing because every poll that I've seen in the last year, including one, we did it just to know news says 70 80% of Americans support this. But there's a fascinating new poll out in Michigan. It surveyed Michigan voters who voted in the last election. And here is the ticker. African American voters, the very voters that Joe Biden says are disenfranchised by a voter ID. They support voter ID by Uranus, 79%. In fact, black voters were more strongly supporting of voter ID than all other voters
Senseless Crime in NYC Needs to be Addressed After Times Square Shove
"When I listen to doctor gorka, he says a lot of the things that I feel, you know, and he says with such strength and conviction, you know, Jersey Joe. Jersey Joe. He calls me, you know? But I love that. But I'm kind of like under the radar and kind of quiet, but man, I tell you what I've been taking the gloves off recently because of what's happening in crime. We just had and forgive me and I look at Martin Luther King day. I want to have some fun. We have some great guests, but I hesitate to do this every morning, but there is news that is unfolding, and to understand it as a look at the news before me. There was a gal that was like pushed to her death in a subway station in New York, and then Eric Adams, who we wish all the best for, by the way, the new mayor. You know, he's going like, he's going like, oh, well, you know what, it's maybe it's not as dangerous as it seems. It's just a misnomer that the subways that danger just kind of got pushed to her death. You know, how about in Los Angeles? You see this? And as you listen in LA, you know? In the town in the state where Larry elder will one day be governor. Hello. Oh yeah, you check it out. But there was a girl that girl in the furniture store to stamp. What's going on with the crime? The crime rate. And there's nobody in charge. No one in Washington. Nobody watching it. And at the time, my political beliefs, they say your conservative, I'm not more of an independent than anything else. I've had it with both party. I don't trust the Republicans. I don't think the Republicans are being strong enough, you know? My hopes are high for this year. Hopefully in November, we'll see a change in the House of Representatives, but my hopes aren't I, because once the Republicans get in, they just really don't do much. So I'm hoping that will
Hillary Vs. Donald 2.0: Are the Democrats Gluttons For Punishment?
"First off, let's start off with this idea, and I know it's going to make you cringe of Hillary to point, oh, come on, come on, come on, right? I mean, it's really, I think evidence of just how badly organized the Democrat party is. Really and truly because they have no bench. They have no one to go to Kamala was supposed to be the shining star. Good luck with that one. Kamala has managed to alienate everyone and doesn't really have any of the goods right to back up all her bravado. She's assigned things like the border and yet doesn't even go to the border. So Kamala is a total joke total disaster lowest ratings of anybody in recent history that's ever been a VP. And so the idea is what we go back to Hillary. Come. It's not just Hillary. They're talking about Hillary. Plus, Liz Cheney, as VP, I'm sorry. We've already had. We've already had a Cheney as a VP that didn't work out so well now did it. So a lot of people are talking about this. There was a big article written a prominent newspaper and now a former operative adviser to Bill Clinton is suggesting that he thinks that this could actually be something that's in the works. In fact, dick Morris has been quoted. This is the former adviser to Bill Clinton, is saying Hillary has set up a brilliant brilliant strategy that nobody else is able to do. And the worst Biden does, he says the better she does because she's positioned herself as the democratic alternative to Biden. I don't totally agree with that. I mean, hey, as a conservative, I should welcome that. You as a conservative should welcome that because Hillary has the ability to just alienate just about everyone, including a lot of people in the middle. I mean, that's why they went to Joe Biden, right? Because the thinking was, let's get somebody in there. That doesn't really completely totally you know what off everybody in the
Governor Glenn Youngkin Signs 11 Day One Executive Actions in Virginia
"I've been in kind of a wait and see approach to kind of see what is young and going to do when he actually takes office. Well, on Saturday, Glenn youngkin was sworn in as governor of Virginia. Immediately, Glenn youngkin went to signing executive orders, aimed at keeping key campaign pledges on reading from Charlie Kirk dot com. To push back on highly divisive critical race theory and to investigate loudon county public school members and officials. Glenn youngkin within minutes of becoming governor, he decided to do what so Republicans hesitate to do. Which is to fulfill on your campaign promises. Number one, Glenn youngkin has banned all uses of critical race theory and public education in Virginia. To restore excellence in education Glenn youngkin, signs an executive order ending the use of divisive concepts, including critical race theory and public education. Number two Glenn youngkin is said to empower Virginia parents against this kind of theme of the parents party. In their kids education, it is now the rule in Virginia to allow parents to make decisions on whether their kids should wear a mask in schools. Mask mandates for children are dead in Virginia. To restore confidence and integrity in the parole, board of the Virginia comment on the come of Virginia, not exactly sure who that one is relevant to the theme we're talking about, but it sounds interesting. The next one to investigate wrongdoing in loudon county. Remember the covering up of the father who came and complained about his daughter that was raped, the 14 year old daughter, and then they reassigned the male student who raped again. Glenn youngkin is wasting no time. He is doing a full investigation into that. Now, maybe someone could explain to me why Glenn youngkin decided to dress like Leonardo DiCaprio from Django Unchained. I don't quite understand the wardrobe selection. I don't have Twitter any of that. Maybe the Internet has already figured that out, but it's a spitting image, almost identical. Next Glenn youngkin is saying Virginia's open for business, no more lockdowns, and now than a couple to prevent human trafficking and support provide support for survivors. And then finally, there is a commission to combat anti semitism and then finally, to withdraw from regional greenhouse gas
Glenn Youngkin's Victory Was a Massive Win Against the Regime
"Now because of the lockdowns that society decided to enact as a response to the Chinese Fauci coronavirus, parents across the country for the first time decided to get engaged and get involved in school board, races and elections over the last year. This is part of the rise of the citizen. 2021 did not have many elections, but there was one in particular the start of the surface as a potential climax as a potential testing point of all these different political trends that we started to see in April and May and June of last year. Businessman Glenn youngkin was running for governor of Virginia. He was running up against Clinton operative and former governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, and Glenn youngkin was down nearly double digits in the polls, 12 to 15 points, some polls had him down. It seemed as if Terry McAuliffe was going to have an easy waltz to the governorship. There was no questions asked and Republicans would lose yet again in the ever increasing blue state of Virginia. Of course, moms and dads rose up in record numbers. Loud and county was tighter than ever before. The strong conservative areas got behind and junkin was elected governor of Virginia. Now we celebrated that victory that night. We did a whole live stream that evening. It was a massive win against the regime. It was a win for parents, the parents party that has ever increasing and strengthening in numbers. It was a win for those of us that care for educational mobility and school choice, vouchers, and especially the fight against critical race
Is the U.S. Becoming Venezuela 2.0?
"Debbie and I are chatting this morning about a couple of interesting events going on. Well, the first one, let's talk about Trump and his rally. He talked about, well, let's quote him. The United States has become a large scale version of Venezuela. That's what he's taking your message. You've been on this since. Oh, let me see. Well, I started doing presentations about this very thing in 2013. That's 8 years ago. Yeah. And drawing out the parallels. Well, one angle that you were telling me about what we were doing our lattes was, how the Conservative Party was caught mapping and that's how this happened. It happened because the right was asleep at the wheel. Talk about that. Right. So in Venezuela, back back when it was prosperous. There were two political parties that were dominant. There were probably smaller parties, but they were not dominant at all. They were barely even known. The two parties were go bay, and ACCION. I don't know what the acronym is for cope. I don't remember, but my family belonged to go bay. Copay was the center right party. Was the center left party. And when I say center right and center left, they were not extremes. But they were accused both parties of being corrupt. And so the center right party, which was the party that we belonged to was more for free markets, oil. They were very much into the inviting America and Britain, Great Britain to come in and put their oil companies in Venezuela and so basically they used that to help prosper the country and propel it to the very rich oil country that it

A Clinton/Cheney Ticket in 2024? Good Luck With That
"Welcome back to America first. One on one with Monica Crowley. So here's the additional twist on what we were just discussing with Hillary. Hillary, please do it. Just run. There's floating the idea that this is too good. Liz Cheney would be the veep choice. And then you'd have the swamp the utter most swampy of the swamp from both sides of the aisle wouldn't that be just superlative Monica? You know, clearly nobody has learned anything from Donald Trump's success in 2016 all the way through his first term as president. And that is that the American people on both sides are sick and tired of the corruption and darkness of the swamp. They're done with it. With the exception of those on the left and frankly, those are the Republican Party who get a lot out of being part of the swamp. The American people have their rejected it. They're onto it. They're aware of it and they are rejecting it. So if the Democrats want to go with an all swamp ticket of Biden and Cheney or Hillary and Cheney or Harrison guy knows who else have at it because they're not going to have much success with
Mark Levin Will 'Undress' the Democatic Party on 'Life, Liberty & Levin'
"But this Sunday on life liberty and Levin in my opening monologue I'm going to spend and do spend a significant amount of time on dressing the Democrat party as you can imagine it's quite ugly And I talk about something I've hinted about here Which is with the United States of America the United States of the Democrat party In all expand on that on Sunday and I hope you'll watch it If you can't watch it live I hope you'll DVR and watch it This monologue unlike others I don't have teleprompters I sit down with thoughts maybe a couple of notes that I write down before I sit down And I speak From my mind from my heart and from my soul I don't need to type things out in advance The Democrat party is devouring americanism With American Marxism
Jason Johnson: Republican Party Is a 'Dimestore Front for a Terrorist Movement'
"Jason Johnson is a professor tenure professor Morgan State University He appears regularly on MSNBC And this is a very in my view diabolical individual with a language that he uses And anything goes Anything goes It's really quite shocking So many of these individuals they won't condemn communist China For the genocide they're committed against Muslims So they take it out and attack the Republican Party I want you to listen to this man Why is he invited on MSNBC If the executives there and the executives at Comcast didn't approve of this kind of behavior Cut one go Here's the problem though We don't know if Trump's going to be on the back If Trump is on the ballot in 2024 it's the easiest thing and the world for Democrats because you could always run against the bad guy But I think the bigger more dangerous thing and I've been saying this for a while I'm working hard to never say Republican Party again Because there's not a party right There shouldn't fain to the IRA They're the plo to Hamas They're a dime store front for a terrorist movement They dime store up front for a terrorist movement
Mark Levin Renews Call for Pelosi Family to Release Their Tax Returns
"And so I will call as I have now for several years on the Pelosi to release their tax returns Nancy and big dummy Paul as well as little dummy Paul junior They should be releasing their tax returns And I would also argue there should be a special counsel to investigate the Pelosi A criminal investigation of the Pelosi and all these schemes to determine whether or not in fact They are clean There was a lot less of a pretext on leash a special counsel against president Trump So little that there was nothing Zero Zero except planted lies and stories by the Democrat party in the American media So will there be a special counsel Let's see which Republicans call for a special counsel I remember when Schumer demanded a special counsel to investigate Trump And I suspect he knew all along That the DNC and Hillary Clinton were working with Perkins coie and others to try and set up Trump But it didn't matter Let's see if his opposite Mitch McConnell will demand a special counsel To investigate Nancy
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler Makes His Pitch for Bringing the RNC to Pittsburgh in 2024
"Make your pitch for Pittsburgh 2024. Oh, well, yeah, so you pitched me as one of the four. Yeah, one of the four cities being considered for the Republican National Convention. And look, it's incredibly important that we go to a swing state such as Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh in particular, southwestern Pennsylvania. But there's also no better example of the shift you've seen in that party from the Bush Cheney errors to the president Trump era because in Pittsburgh, especially southwestern Pennsylvania, you've had these blue collar workers that have jumped to the Republican Party in droves. All four of the surrounding counties in the southwest corner Pittsburgh have gone from Democrat controlled counties to Republican controlled counties. That's very important. So for their RNC to come to Pittsburgh, what used to be the center of manufacture at least steel manufacturing in the United States? To what is now the shift in that example of the shift in the party from the old school Republicans to the Trump Republicans. It was in a large message to the rest of the nation. And I think it would drive out turnout in Pennsylvania, which is going to be incredibly important, moving forward to win Pennsylvania. So that's my pitch plus, it's just a beautiful, livable city, livable area. Look, I've been all over. I've been all over the world. I've been all over the United States. There's no place that's more beautiful than western Pennsylvania, no place where the people are
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler on Why Democrats and Republicans Can't Agree Where the Money Should Go
"What do you see? What do you tell the American people about hua Republicans and Democrats? Either party can not pass the way it's supposedly it's most straightforward function of government and that is to decide where the money goes. Yeah, it gets an absolute mass and a lot of the mess is really fueled by, I think just a lack of understanding from the outside of what the process is. And before, before I get to that, I'd be remiss if I didn't say this. Just getting back to big tactics briefly, we also need to adopt the European model of privacy, where individuals own their search history, and then they can sell it. So the big tech companies don't own it. We should adopt that to give a private property right in the search history. That would be the fourth thing we need to do with big tech I'd be remiss if I didn't say it. But getting back to the appropriations process, let's just say earmarks, for example, I grew up thinking earmark was a dirty word when I was not when I was not in. And then I came in and I realized very quickly in the state Senate in Pennsylvania where I served that it was one of the only ways that a legislator could fight back against the bureaucracy of the administrative branch. Because when I was in, we had at one point it's super majority in the state Senate Republicans. We had the second most liberal governor second only to Gavin Newsom in California. The only way I was going to get my constituents funding for some projects, et cetera was through the year more process. Now, we technically did away with earmarks before I got to the stage Senate, but we still had avenues to direct funding. And when I got to Congress, I found real fast. If I wanted to get funding for, let's say a lock and damn project on the monongahela river, which is a huge artery of our inland water system and a huge pillar in that inland water port that is the port of Pittsburgh. I was going to have to negotiate with some 20 something that just graduated from Yale or Harvard, who had never been on a walk and Dan has no idea how a lock and damn system operates has no idea why it's needed for industry and the movement of goods and services. And I was put in a position where I was elected by 780,000 people trusted to do a job for my district and then had to grovel behind some woke kid who just graduated from ily school. It's ridiculous. That's not how our system is formed.
Iran and Other Enemies Are Watching the Biden Admin's Vulnerabilities
"I think Iran and all of our enemies are watching Ukraine right now and are drawing lessons about the infirmities of the Biden administration in response to the Ukraine attack. Do you believe that our enemies around the world are watching right now? What we do, Vis-à-vis Ukraine's vulnerability. They're absolutely watching. Just as they watched our ignominious surrender and botched withdrawal in Afghanistan. And then in some cases, in the case of the Chinese Communist Party, explicitly used it as a propaganda weapon in order to weaken the resolve of some of our allies and cause them to question America's willingness to fight and alongside them and defend their interests as well as our own interests. So absolutely they're watching. And as it pertains to Iran, something to watch, it really concerns me, if you follow the Iranian press, there's been some gloating coming out of the regime right now, which suggests to me that there may be an interim agreement half resuscitation of the JCPOA that we can expect soon, which would be an absolute disaster. Another tranche of trillions of billions of dollars in sequestered funds. And Wendy Sherman's going to blame Donald Trump for that.
Kira Davis: We Are Heading for a Class Warfare
"When you look around you don't see these problems right The only problems most of the problems in your life has been the government response And it just blows my mind that these Australians don't want to hold the government accountable for their installation of a two tier system And that's where we're heading right now people We're heading for clause warfare Because right now even in the United States there is a political class and a wealth class that can skirt the rules these horrible rules that are in place and then there's the rest of us You know all you have to do is look at these pictures of these politicians at these fancy parties and balls and Mariel Bowser the mayor of D.C. She was in a nightclub celebrating her birthday Mascot of harsh mask mandates They have mandates now about gathering They're moving backwards there because of the omicron variant Which is nothing but a cold Again I'm telling you I had it over a whole family had it over Christmas Particularly if you're vaccinated it's not much of anything And yet they get to enjoy and then they're surrounded by servants who wear masks who have to wear masks What's the difference between them and the people serving them Nothing Nothing Except class
Beto O'Rourke Is Down 8 Points in the Polls for Texas Governor
"Some interesting news out of Texas, beto o'rourke, the skateboard man, the cool cat who almost upset Ted Cruz for the Senate race in Texas is now running for governor against, well, against governor Abbott. And he's down 8 points in the polls. And we're trying to explore what's going on in Texas. Now here's an interesting story. Texas Democrat named Ryan gillan, who's from the south part of Texas, Debbie understands that part of the country better than I do, but in any event he has defected to the Republican Party. And so honey, listen to this, he goes, first of all, he says, you know, many of us are waking up to the fact that the values of those in Washington D.C. are not our values, so he's talking here about the Biden administration. And then he gives three reasons. He goes the ideology of defunding the police. That's number one. Of destroying the oil and gas industry. Number two, and the chaos at our border is disastrous for those of us who live here in South Texas now. This guy, one is seat by nearly 17 points in the last election, so he's in a very safe seat. You would think he could stay a Democrat. He's probably just disgusted at what has happened to the Democratic

"Found your problem. You're on the wrong side of the road. I was on the right side of the road. I was on the right side of the road, so, you know, whatever side of the road I'm driving on is the correct way. I am the player in the matrix, not the NPCs. This isn't my footage. But yeah, no, I am so excited to see this just everything the detail in the world is so phenomenal. I can't wait to see if things like the games take advantage of unreal 5 and just what we get out of it this generation. Yeah, toda as you were saying earlier with a couple of games we were talking about. Like, we're just at the start, no one's taken full advantage of these consoles, and we're getting new engines like this. So as they get to learn all this stuff, we're going to get toward the really, really cool looking and I think feeling next gen stuff that we all want to see. I really need to go jump into this. But yeah, thank you. Thank you for bringing that one up. And thank you all for joining me for this episode. I think that largely wraps us up does before we leave does anyone have anything that they want to plug anything going up on IGN either an hour over the holiday that you want to make sure people check out that you can talk about I mean either he plug it earlier the matrix thing that I'll be at for this weekend. But that's pretty much it for me. Mark. Yeah, we have one final episode of dessert E to speed runs goes live this Saturday. It's more death's door. Everybody. Big indie game that people love. It's a fun episode. I largely had them turn down because I'm going to play the game over the holiday break and I don't want to just get spoiled on it. So I was like, yep, the levels are going and I can kinda hear them. I don't want to actually hear what they're saying. So maybe it's a fun episode, maybe it's all. We'll see. And then we'll be back in the new year for more devs react. Yay. Nice. Matt, anything on your end from the new side of things? I have Spider-Man tickets on Thursday. Yes. I can not wait. I've gone basically Twitter blackout because it's like the reviews are from no way home are pouring in and I'm like with an pouring out. I don't want to see this stuff. I haven't muted anything. The dangerously. I'm living dangerously. Let's see what happens. If he dies, he dies. I didn't read our review. I saw the score we gave it, but I didn't read the review, and I just, I'm going to watch it tomorrow, so I'm like, I'm just going to watch it. Then I'll go. I'm going to Mark I'm going to probably suggest you don't look at the comments of this episode because if we have just said we don't know any of the spoilers. That is how the Internet works. Speaking of comments, I will plug two of our people on Twitter that responded to one of your posts or no around stuff. So we have bingo skank at teela tech. I don't know if that was allowed, but it is, it's there now. I would like for them to rerelease persona 5 royal for any reason just so they can make some sick persona plates when talking about we were talking about the plates. And I figured you would love that. That's the only reason I would love someone else on a plate. Yeah. Yeah. And then for my non work related projects that I don't know if I can talk about on this show. And then for another topic we talked about around the plates as well. Tim bob Wii at lunchbox underscore Inc that's what I've been theorizing for a while. Really special plates to fit the console instead of collector's edition consoles. So yeah, we got a few people in the audience that are agreeing with this already. Thank you guys for submitting some theories and hype things another suggestions and thoughts and other words. Totally. And as we were saying last week, we want to obviously continue to involve you all in the show next year. So again, please write in to beyond it IGN dot com with your memory card stories of your PlayStation gaming history that you want to share those on the show, subject line memory card for those. Or if you have any memorable trophies that you've gone for, that you hated going for that you love going for any that you had a really great tip you wanted to share for those. You can also write into beyond at IG dot com with the subject line trophy tips, and we're gonna start making those a regular part of the show into next year. But otherwise, that's gonna wrap us up for this week's episode and this year. Podcast beyond. Jada Mark and Matt, thank you so much for joining me for this episode. Headlights. And nothing better to do. Thanks as always for that. That's stirring that stirring motion. And thank you to taio behind the scenes for making the show happen. And also even though he's not currently here, thank you to red for making the show happen throughout the year as well our regular producer and taya thank you so much for stepping in right before the holiday as well. "Feige. He's like, I can't allow this, but he doesn't. Tom has all the power. But yeah. It's been fun to be Spider-Man, it's a brand new map, it's a brand new chapter, so I've been having fun there. And then yeah, I've just been kind of like jumping in between things because I am actually going to be without a game console for most of the holiday break. So I don't want to start a game and then not be able to play it for two weeks. So I haven't been playing much else. But that's a little bit of what we've been playing ahead of our holiday party. Next, can I add one more? Matt, you were playing, I think you were talking about the matrix demo, right? Were you playing? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Playing it or, you know, taking photo modes in it. I've been experiencing anything. All right, experiencing it. Yeah. It was cool. I actually, I helped out Destin with his preview for it, and he was talking about how he didn't know in the opening moments. What was real and what was generated on Unreal Engine. And I didn't see the experience yet when I was looking at over, but one that I got in. I was like, oh, yeah, this is like, I know what he means now. Yep, I was also playing that game where I'm like, is this Unreal Engine 5 Keanu or is this real Keanu, you know? One at the end when you get to just walk around the city and like drive and stuff like it's insane. Yeah. Yeah, I turned off all the traffic and I think the top speed I hit was like one 52. It was really tough. I still need to jump in. Oh, it's great. Every generation I'm like, how can they, how can they get better visuals in the next console? We're definitely hitting that feeling now, and then I saw this. I'm like, oh, they just lifted it again. So now what you're seeing on screen, you get to bring up a control menu and you can change the traffic and all that stuff and you're just running around for as long as you want, you can fly to kind of the camera comply. It's pretty insane. I love the fact that how they kind of showcase how the different polygons and everything for you can turn on these different filters to see how things are made. There's different plaques scattered around the world where you can go and see how things are made and there's also like little challenges and stuff like that that don't actually time you. There's one, it's like a highway loop. It's like Trinity can make the highway loop in under four minutes. Can you? And so that's when I turned off all traffic and tried to hit one 50, doing loops on the highway. But yeah, I really love this. I think it's so cool and it really shows what the next gen is going to be possible. What's going to be possible in the next generation with unreal 5? So much detail. This is an actual clip of me driving before I turned off the traffic. I found your problem. You're on the wrong side of the road. I was on the right side of the road. I was on the right side of the road, so, you know, whatever side of the road I'm driving on is the correct way. I am the player in the matrix, not the NPCs. This isn't my footage. But.

"Poor. That's like what it didn't have a development team of 200 people. I'm out. How dare you come out? It didn't have a half a $1 billion budget. How dare you? Waste my time. Even a game. No, it's good, right? It's always good, but yeah, I think Sony in particular could probably improve the most out of the three. Just today. Nintendo did an indie roll showcase, right? And that's a really helpful way to get Indies on the platform. Notice. Xbox has been flirting with the idea at Xbox on Twitch streams, which has happened to three times this past year, right? But like PlayStation doesn't really do anything like that. They're most recent state of play was all Indies. So that's right. That's like. But I think the state of play problem is larger because that show varies so much time and time like, at least when Nintendo you know when they're doing an indie world showcase what it's specifically targeting, whereas with a state of play, it's like, okay, well, they said it would focus on death loop, but I'm also hoping they reveal sly Cooper 5, because it's a PlayStation. And so like, it's something they need to figure out 'cause yeah, I agree with Matt, if it's ID at Xbox, you know it's Indies, and then yeah, today's nindi world showcase. Yeah. Where people were so mad at the most recent state of play at a they said it was gonna be Indies. But people see state of play state of play is also where they showed 16 minutes of horizon forbidden west, so. Yeah, definitely a branding problem that they need to solve. And even then, like, the most I think about sales opportunities with Sony. And the biggest one I always think about is golden week, which is something that you do every year. And that's always like, because I know, oh, there's a cool JRPG that's out right now. I can wait for a couple months for golden week to happen and then pick up a cool Japanese game from PlayStation. And that's kind of like the most like notable sales event that I associate with PlayStation is that there's a week of the year where a bunch of cool PlayStation Japanese games go on sale. But they're like, but it's not India related, you know? So it's Tony doesn't really have a strong indie brand, which is kind of weird for now because like the PS4 era early on, they were hard into Indies. Yeah, well, it seems to go in this rotation of things where it was like Xbox to Nintendo for a little bit to PlayStation back to Nintendo back to Xbox back to plate. It does sort of go in a cycle of who's supporting indie's the most. But you know, I totally agree. I think it's great to see this stuff behind the scenes and I do hope we see more of it come to fruition publicly as well. There are occasionally indie focused PlayStation sales, but they don't get the same sort of like fanfare that a golden week sale does. And I think even on the state of play bent, like PlayStation will, they have done a couple of times this year. They're like here are 6 cool indie games coming to PlayStation. And it's 6 different PlayStation blog posts doled out over like two and a half hours. And that doesn't have the same impact as a 20 minute sizzle reel hype show where it's like hearing the cool ones. And I think like those cost more to produce those are more intensive, yes, but I do think that is getting more eyes in front of games for switcher for Xbox with idea Xbox, then here are 5 blog posts for you to go read. And I kind of hope they start to lean into that. I will say like a huge shout out like credit where credits do, even as these changes were needed, I will say, regardless of what happens on the actual PlayStation store, if you want to know the best Indies to go play on PlayStation, you should be following shohei yoshida because obviously in his new indie roll like that man, so consistently is highlighting and promoting and spotlighting the cool Indies that are coming to PlayStation on his own personal account and has been excellent at doing that since his role shifted into focus on indie and partnerships in that way. And that's how devs react to speedrun upset ideas. Tweeting about them like perfect. Yeah, that's the way to go. But yeah, no, I hope we get to see more of this stuff front facing as well, but it's nice to hear that changes are happening behind the scenes obviously it's not a like everything's fixed. We're good to go, but it is a sign of hopefully progress over this generation that we'll see. But you know, speaking of both the indie games and the exclusively only $70 games that Matt wants to play. I do want to spend only plays those. I do want to jump a little bit into what we've been playing over the last few weeks and just kind of like what is on our radar as we head into our holiday breaks. And Jade, I'll start with you. What have you been up to playing recently? Oh, well, like I said, I just picked up kenna and finished it already. Was really fun experience. I definitely can kind of see when I were talking about it a couple of weeks back about hey, what about kenna? And you're like, can I was fine? And yeah, I feel like it was fine. I feel like it would have done so much better if it was a launch title for the PS5. I feel like it would have been received a lot better as the first kind of site of the PS5, not after seeing a few other things. But I really enjoy that's going to be the creators of this made a majoris mask short. And this is actually, I first knew of them. That's how they wrote the same. Yes. And so I was super excited for kind of leading up to launch, and then there's just.

"So I'm curious to see if we get more acquisitions in the coming years, but hopefully it just means a cadence of more awesome first party games is kind of my hope here at the end of the day. Any other closing thoughts before we move on? Yay for video games. How dare you? Here. What? Last thing I just want to mention on the news front was if you haven't read it, please go check out Rebecca from our news team's wonderful follow-up piece about Sony and its relationship with its indie partners. This was sort of a follow-up to a report that we had earlier this year. When was it? It feels like both weeks ago and years ago. Back in July, where the difference. It was months. Exactly. Where rev sort of broke down the frustrations that many indie devs have been having in terms of getting promotion and support from PlayStation sort of behind the scenes on the PlayStation store, things of that nature. And I really love this follow-up. I definitely go recommend you check out the full report of it. But essentially, Rebecca kind of broke down. Kind of the key issues were, you know, behind the scenes tools and forums and processes for getting your questions answered for getting support from Sony in the first place. Actual just communication issues of not really having great communication with those partners. And helping to find ways to get actual promotion on the PlayStation store in front of PlayStation players outside of I think it's in the article sort of the usual suspects. And so several people, including some of those that spoke to previously as well as a few others, did say that they have started to notice change. And progress behind the scenes. And obviously there are like foundational things it seems within the tools that PlayStation actually use to talk to and deal with indie partners that need updating and fixing. But they seem to be in communication more. It seems like people were saying, you know, support emails they put in, used to take weeks, if not months to get answers if they ever did get answers. Now often are getting answered within a couple days, they are noticing a bit more support on getting those games prominently on the PlayStation store. And we've even seen something I think this week with pray for the gods, which is a game that's been announced for PlayStation for a while. Got a surprise drop on PlayStation. It got like big showcases on PlayStations Twitter account several times. The PlayStation blog, the PlayStation store, at least for me, it was pretty well highlighted. You know, it seems like the issues are not a 100% fixed by any means, but it's really good to see this progress being made. I don't know if any of you had a chance to check out the article, but just curious. Yeah. Yeah, it seems that the biggest complaint is that steam just does it so well and they use algorithms to kind of, you know, curate lists where actual user engagement is what makes it where if there's like underground indie buzz about a game, people are checking that game out they're reviewing it and they're downloading it and their wish listing it and that will make steam automatically show it off more and there's often sales and stuff like that where like you mentioned earlier the usual suspects is kind of like PlayStation has this curated list of just like everybody loves X Games. So that's going to be on the indie spotlight, right? And it's going to be like, you know, you're just kind of like, all right, well, some of these smaller people, yeah, it's kind of the same problem a lot of industries have like Twitch, right? You go to twitch and if you make a brand new account, you're going to be shown the same ten accounts, right? Like the biggest, the ten biggest Twitch streamers. And you can have someone who's doing really, really cool things and they're averaging 20 viewers and so they just aren't pushed because they're not averaging ten 20,000 viewers that these battle Royale shooters, people are, you know, doing so, I definitely understand the frustration there that it's really hard to get noticed and so I'm glad that PlayStation is taking the necessary steps to show off because I play more indie games than I play regular games or triple-A games, so regular games. So I'm always happy to I'm always happy to learn about really cool ones and see them get more promotion. Yeah, I have a philosophy for me. Whenever there's like a sale on the PlayStation store and I see something that I want to like, I just recently picked up Kenneth because it was on sale and it's just when I had kind of overlooked throughout the year because of other stuff came out. But any time I pick up a technically an indie game. But I bought something else. I can't even remember right now. But anytime I buy something in a sale from like a big triple-A, I always go and look in the indie section and I buy some random indie title for like anywhere that's like three to ten bucks. I spend an extra three to ten bucks to support in any developer. And I play their game. I think the last one I played was like toran, which was this like this ico kind of like esque game. And it wasn't the best experience I played in 2021, but it was kind of a cool, just like way for me to experience something in these done. And so that's just something I do to support the indie developers out there because I know it's a hard time to get their game notice and I may not shout out every Indy one I play, but I try to. So yeah. Only games that cost $70. That's it. That's the only buy the big ones. Very.

"Though I don't have a record player. Let me tell you. We have a broken record player for years, but we keep buying vinyls instead of buying a working record player. So yeah, I feel like I love my record player. I get so much use out of that sucker. But yeah, continue. No, I was just pretty sure I have vinyls. I thought Matt was going further at that point. No, I just no. I've been lucky in that every place that I've moved in with my roommates. They have a record player. Oh nice. There you go. Very nice. But one day, I will be on my own. Sans record player. And box of finals that I can't play. I was gonna say dozens of vinyls and yeah, nothing to play them on. The saddest story since pair of baby shoes. Anyway, moving on from their PlayStation did have a little bit of extra news, kind of under the radar, but I do want to talk about it because I do think it's an interesting one to speak to this year. Late last week, PlayStation announced their 5th acquisition for the year. Of a studio known as Valkyrie entertainment, which will quote 8 in the development of key PlayStation studios franchises. Valkyrie entertainment is maybe not a name most people out there have heard. I think is probably not a wild thing to say. But they have worked with PlayStation in the past for quite some time. Most recently, they've been partnered and working with Sony Santa Monica, both on God of War 2018 and have been working with them on the development of God of War ragnarok. They've also worked across company lines. They worked with Microsoft on things like halo infinite for to motor sport 7 and other titles, both on console and PC. So they very much feel like a studio that's going to continue to aid and support other PlayStation studios in this case, which is sort of what we've seen with nix's as well, which was acquired earlier this year. A studio kind of most prominently known for PC ports and handling things there that they obviously do have in development or in-house developers who help the creation of games. But I thought this acquisition was really interesting because I'm curious what you all think of sort of PlayStation's total acquisition plan so far. As I said, this was the 5th studio they have acquired this year. Fire Sprite, blue point, house mark, nexus, and now Valkyrie. And nothing that they've acquired, there are some tremendous teams in there, but nothing they've acquired has been like, oh, we need to respond to the Bethesda acquisition, or we need to acquire studios in the same way that Xbox did when they acquired what was it. I think compulsion, the hellblade developers forgive me, I'm going on there. And ninja theory, thank you. I wish someone knew their name. But yeah, they acquired 6 names or 6 studios all at once, and then double fine within within a year. And then Bethesda a couple of years later, they very much were going for names to help bolster their first party studios. And like just to have games. To me, to me, this feels like PlayStation wants to make sure the teams that they have and the teams that they know are working well, have all the support they can while also still introducing some new smaller teams into the mix. But I'm curious what you all think about this because it is this isn't like an oh my God, they have bought the biggest teams in the world. Like I said, I think most people probably didn't even know about Valkyrie before this. Yeah, I think it's just gonna say so like there are two I would say they've acquired two big ones, right? They required they acquired blue point, which primarily made PlayStation games already, which they're famous for the remakes they make. Most recently, demon's souls, and then House Mark, which was basically full on PlayStation as well with PC versions of their game. I don't think we're gonna see that the Bethesda level, I guess Cinemax in this case would be is like, that's an acquisition I don't think we're going to see for a very long time. What an acquisition of that scale. The fact that they acquired a huge publisher that owns some of the most beloved studios of all time, like I just don't even know what PlayStation's version of that is. I think you nailed it when you say like, this is more on the level of like double fine. Like, hey, double find you're going to make games for Xbox now. We're going to be hands off. This is just your games are going to come to us. And that's kind of what it's kind of seems like with House marketing blue point. I would be interested if PlayStation really wanted to get into the game. What where they would look to? You know what I mean? Like that would have to be something of that level. My thing is I don't think they need to. Like the whole Bethesda acquisition was because Xbox needed games. They needed to bolster their first party where they had already has a bustling first party. And so PlayStation acquiring I think Valkyrie and nixes are the two that make the most sense to me and just to sort of give why I think this is the reasoning and you can all tell me if I'm crazy, but in the PS3 generation, even though that was a weird console developed for naughty dog had the output of the three uncharted games and the last of us, whereas on the PlayStation 4, they had uncharted four lost legacy which had been at least served as a DLC agree to something a little bit bigger. And then The Last of Us Part II at the very, very end. Like, and you know, even a company like sucker punch had a few infamous games in there and then had infamous second son at the very start and then ghost at the end. I feel like PlayStation wants those teams to be able to get back to a more like two to three year cadence rather than a four to 5 year cadence. And so these teams being internal having direct access, not having to worry about signing contracts or dealing with any of the minutia of business can just pay Valkyrie. Oh, you're working on halo right now. Damn it. Yeah. You don't have to worry. Yeah. That's all it makes sense. Yeah, I mean, you have to look at it like games are in the terms of scale and scope are only increasing. We're only getting bigger. Nobody has tapped the full potential of the PS5 yet, like, or the Xbox Series X for that matter. Nobody has tapped the full potential. So I look at this as Sony as future proofing their business model, like you're saying Jonathan to increase the cadence of those games. I think it's going to make these type of acquisitions make sense for Sony to do because this allows them to have the more core things focused on inside it insomnia..

"Part of today's is they in their defense in the story. It's hard sometimes when you never experienced all they had seen. Jesus do up to. This point was healed people. We will be sick. he'd halo. Somebody's laying there you know. They can't walk all of a sudden running around so they're only experiences. Were that So you know remember. We talked about how great abraham was because he reason to the resurrection. Obviously they weren't doing that because they thought the opportunity had been missed. And you're right. They didn't really listen to what he's sad. And let's see a reason to that joel. Hey the age old thought is other words death and people who the doubters in their mind. They still have not come up to grips. Jesus has destroyed he to share it and the humanity so the by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death that is the devil and free those who all their life. We're we're we're trapped right a because their fear of death they say. Well that's that's the end instead of the beginning right. Which is why the experience of lazarus's resurrection to your point or to the to pastor's boy is then what opened up the ass to say. Okay i got it now. So that's why she anointed is like in an s why he said you know she's just prepare literally our and she knew that he was gonna listen to hard concept to grasp for most us. However if you're really listen what he did here. When you're reading this you realize that they were asking for healing without being specific. Got my when it didn't happen. And he basically said. I love him so much that money giving the resurrection that went way beyond healing. Just thinking that this only happened to other times in the new testament where jesus reyes somebody from the you know. One of them was. He just touched the coffin in ago. What the woman. Yeah but just thinking about that because then all of a sudden i started thinking about all those times thinking well that shows too that he changes the day ed environment. You know that you find yourself in. It was almost like a different angle of giving. You hope. it's like he'll resurrect you but he can also just take whatever environment this creating death or that you think. And so that that's what are our realized that because think about it from lasers perspective. I mean you talking about bonus and a feeling of. Don't give her a again eat. Where am i ask after that sir about death anymore. Just he's just wasn't worried about it because and that's what i think the point. He was making his when you jumped john twelve. And you see mary down here. Porn out the perfume. What if you really weren't wasn't listening in this john eleven. She's got it now. She not only got what happened to her brother. She figured out because now she started looking in the future and she realized this is why he came jazz. I use their other words a proper understanding of what went on that day. In those few days proper understanding that would really help and he'll a mighty throng of individuals. Who live in the united states their greatest fear in what's motivating them with from the corona virus to whatever. Is there fear of death. Sure i mean they will pass. Fda you have do this you have to do this. The medical profession but all of this supersedes anything. The medical profession could ever do. I would say she's beyond. Get the right medicines. It'd be does this. And this and that now their he maleeha we think we can say and the cdc offers this and that and the other and the government's running and putting rules and regulations china. "If you don't really think about that you're like what does that at all up gotta be glorified so the messenger goes back. What does he do. You gotta read between the lines. But what's he married. Martha we're good right. Jesus said were da. Didn't say that knows. It all said the cygnus well not end in death so a couple of days later he you know he keeps doing his ministry. And the disciples weren't listening because he said well he he need some sleep and everything will be i. And there's they started talking about is disciples replied will lord if he sleeps he will get better. Jesus had been speaking about his death but asaba start meant spiritual amid a natural sleep so once you see this difference in hearing. And they weren't getting it. Nobody was getting it so then so so then he told disciples. He tries to explain to them. Still not getting. So then verse. Seventeen his arrival. Jesus found that lazarus at already been in the team for four days. Look he missed the funeral. The graveside i mean he died. So now you're right. They're hot because they think he's asana god. They basically gave gave him a message. He gave a response and he's wrong well because they're looking at situation and it was really good point. They're like god gave the word he he. He spoke on it but the circumstances were not. They couldn't see how he was right. Well he he. He said he went janda. He's dead he's not here so that's a that's a key point because they weren't listening to what he said so martha twenty-one lower if you had been here my brother would not died so they're angry and he did this whole thing about why we get angry at guy which i thought was really good. Because he's like come on if you would admit it. There's been times in your life your anger god because what you read is not adding up with what's happening in your life and your mad so he's like you're like well i'm not gonna pray show you my or i'll go to church raw show late. I mean with these things you know. I mean 'cause you're angry. You're you're math. So so then it says but i know In verse twenty two that even now god will give you whatever you do. You said your brother will rise again in. Martha's well no hill rise again in the resurrection at the last day with any declares this you know. I am the resurrection and the life and you know the story eventually wheat. Why does he we even though he no. He knows he's gonna raising from the dead. Well his point was. He gave her the comfort in that statement. This cygnus will not end in death in basically what his point was we. We put a period after the war. Death is death is over and here. Jesus put a comma after death. Now this own you that you didn't get that if you trust him that's what he said. And so you know really. The whole point was sometimes in your list. And you look at the circumstances and you gotta find joy and trust from that water to the wilderness. And the and the persecutions that calm because you know look this. This same thing is going to happen to us at our resurrection. So there's two things kind of going here. You have your spiritual resurrection when you hear jesus and you die and you're buried and your as we went through rome and six in detail if you really believe that then you trust no matter what. The circumstances are your comment so his point. We want to heal them and we won't on our terms now we look at situation. We're like you know the one you love is sick. But i won't help now and if it doesn't work out like we wall..

"What you think because while you're there one of the things that if you if you ever want to say you listen to what jesus said. He's the model. And i said jesus said after the after the beatitudes the last little statement one of the last little statements. He said give the gift to the one who askew and do not do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you and i gave him a little update. Said i there's a redneck about a from me and his yard is littered with equipment all kinds of equipment. I said most to that equipment belongs to me. I said he didn't steal it. It's in his yard. I said he just forgot to bring it back. Said jesus said give the one who wanna barf him. What i had named walked out the door and some dude come marking up the that was in the audience. And he said he said jesus said loan ones. You wanna barf me. I said yeah. That's what he said he said. I i need twenty dollars. I'm i'm running low this week so i thought well he says braced and you said if i ask you for twenty he said. Dj said give it to me. I said i got my billfold out. I got to ten hannam to. That's what he said. i said. Look if you go drink this up with wine or whisky. I said it's new. I said plus when you buy something. I said you bring it back. I said you're gonna pay me back. He's pay per debate. You know so he must have twelve. He didn't click me. You said jesus say long. The ones who are on the sermon is kind of like our kids. You know when you're raising up. He was hearing you but it wasn't necessarily listening. There's a different and and my point is. That's what happens in sermons. Because he the guy was preaching. And he's i've had people come up so as best sermon you've ever braked and he's like well. That was probably the best time you ever listen. It's a two way street. I mean you can just come in there and let it go over your head or for some reason not participate so out of all the thousands of sermons that i've heard that you've heard if you made me get it down to the most memorable ones it'd be less than twenty but there's about twenty that i'll think by this was one of them. It was one of the twenty. And he's he's got another one inside the top twenty it's pretty which it 'cause he preached the last time i hardy movies that water to the wilderness and look. It wasn't like he come up with something. That was not there in the bobble but i just never thought about. Jesus has this moment. It's a holy spirit. He god gives him his identity there with when he said he didn't have to do that he did that for us. But he's like. This is my son whom i love and i'm well pleased. And i love the spiritual application of that to us when when we baptized of god declaring that we give the spirit. And that's where your identity comes from maine gods this my son or this my daughter and so it's like the greatest moment or or one of the greatest moments i guess the virgin birth and then this happening because he gets a spirit starts history in ministry and what's the next thing that happened forty days in the wilderness. Well that came in an accident. That's what happens to us when you find while the guy that wrote you. The letter of the day said he basically was saying. But i'm still addicted to porn. And i'm still. I'm not observing. I'm not deserving of being a son. God i'm too sinful he had. He was having a hard time realizing he was claim and he had a fresh start and he had imperishable seed in the spirit. He he just thought it would all go away. But that's why he forgot. Forty days in the wilderness amended..

Not just trying to take advantage of an influence or signing a piece of clothing or a you know a more private shopping experience. It's actually building in a platform that drew that delivers experiential value. And i. i just think that to me. That's the real goal here for any marketer. They've they they relaunched and none of the folks that we knew are there anymore but they relaunched it and with a new look and feel and the whole new effort and i put a note into both the pr company and the and the company and the people and selves through linked into say. Hey i'd love to learn about what your goals are and everything there and just get to know you a little bit and didn't hear anything back said they do. They know who you are. It's close enough that i'm totally into. Yeah all right. We'll be right back. Starting.

"Season and you can bet i will be there I don't know if you've seen what the hall of fame resort company has been doing with canton that area. I mean if if you would have gone to the hall the football hall of have you ever been to the pro football hall of fame. I cannot sally it yeah. It's getting a point now where you could actually go and enjoy yourself because fifteen years ago it was. They were doing a disservice to the nfl. Now they really fixed it up. They've added this whole thing and what they're creating which i think will be done in two or three years. It's it's like disneyland for football. They've got their adding our next field and and and more retail area. Another little stadium on sign. And you've got a hotel on the none. All these things are new. They're happening within the next couple of years. And it's it's wonderful to see that plan. Come together where. I think canton and the investors of really said. We're going to embrace this thing. And not just have one building where you go in you see see basically Golden bus of these guys. Heads that sir. That's it but now it's really turned into something so kudos to them i. You'll have to come. I'll take you out to dinner or something. You'll be so close. I would love to. I would absolutely love to i would. Yeah i i've i've been meaning to go forever and actually did have some Did have some desire to go this year because of course jimmy. Johnson is being inducted this year. But you know you know life. Life gets in the way and delta variants and jimmy johnson because of his Championships that he won at miami university correct. That's yeah that's four. Super bowls defy bay game correct. "You're all in you know you went all in space spending a brain dollars on this thing right exactly. why not. just you know it's the same thing divvied up a little bit. Look at it and i've always said i've i've of course grown up in the event business. I've been to so many events and trade shows and expos can't even tell you that's the biggest thing that i can understand when somebody would spend a million dollars on space in an expo and it's the most boring space in the world. You have a couple tables. You've got some brochures in you've got mostly guys walking around answering questions. I'm like you spent a million dollars. Plus probably another million dollars on s- sending the equipment and all the people there in this is the experience you're going to give them like. Why did you spend the money. If you're not going to invest in it and i think a lot of people forget about that it's like just the space is one thing that's that's spray but you have to spend probably what do they say. Generally at least twice as much may be more on the creative to activate that space. Yeah that's i mean. And i don't think that's being i don't think no it's not not gonna. I'm not picking on toyota. Because i think they actually have the best commercial of anyone. I've seen i though the one of the The the woman with no legs. Who's the swimmer who i. I love that commercial. I tear up almost every time. I see it but well the first three times. But then you like this one again right but right the first eighteen times. Let's say they spent. I don't know couple of hundred million dollars at least on this sponsorship. Do you think they spent six hundred million dollars on the making of that krino. And here's the thing knowing. How commercial shoots work. That i guarantee you. They have hours of footage of that woman. Saw the guy running all they've got other athletes that they didn't use they've got you know they've got hours of footage In this kind of thing so yeah. What would have been great. This is of course you know. Tell them how to do their job. But that commercial which is fantastic. Which is if the for those of you. That hadn't seen it. It's it's a woman. I think she. She was born in the ukraine. She didn't she was up for adoption. And an american family adopted her knowing that she would have to have her legs amputated in and now she's a world class swimmer or she became a worldwide. Swimmer is fantastic right. Wouldn't it be awesome to have a documentary on the back end of that where you could really get into shore and you could do that or through multiple stories. Then you're really like all you really expanding the experience but no unfortunately speaking of experience are you excited about the the kickoff of nfl. come on. i mean. I mean all now all of our european two minutes that time of year. It's that time of year. But yes tonight as we record this. On thursday august fifth tonight is the hall of fame game where the dallas cowboys will square off against the pittsburgh steelers amongst all the celebrations and revelry of the hall of handle. You just sell can't lutely so. I mean it's not going to be much of a game. Obviously because none of the starters will be playing and it will be all the you know the bit it will be touched football pretty much for for most of it but you know it looks like all of the season it is the kickoff of the.

"If unions are dying in the united states than someone forgot to tell washington labor leaders about their demise the state ranks fifth in the nation for union membership and that strength can translate into political power. In fact organized labor has helped democrats solidify one party rule in recent years and in turn unions have notched a series of legislative victories. Olympia correspondent austin jenkins reports in collaboration with the seattle times on the rising influence of unions. Right here in washington state. No further amendments. Look he was march of two thousand eighteen lawmakers in the washington house of representatives. We're about to debate one of the most contentious pieces of legislation of the year and goes substitute senate. Bill six one nine nine on it had to do with state funded homecare workers. These are people who bathe dress and feed elderly or disabled adults in their own homes. The legislation aimed to privatize this quasi-public workforce democrats don't usually push for privatization but state representative tana. Senn said in this case it would benefit the workers and their clients with this bill. We are reducing the paperwork so that we can increase care but that argument rang hollow for minority republicans. Who insisted the bill was about something else. Ensuring that homecare workers couldn't opt out of paying union. Dues this is nothing more than a payback to a union that was republican state representative. Joyce mcdonald getting gaveled down for impugning. The motives of the bill's supporters in the end house democrats passed the homecare bill without a single republican vote in fact. Republicans were so incensed. They refuse to vote on the bill. A move rarely seen that. Vote in two thousand. Eighteen sent a message. Democrats were back in control and olympia. After several years of divided control if the end of the two thousand eighteen session unions heralded the passage of bills that had previously been bottled up under split control. Equal pay voting rights prevailing wages and bargaining rights in the years since democrats have grown their majorities and continue to approve union backed legislation some of it high profile much of it. Well below the radar. I think one of the things that we're seeing is a real effort. A concerted effort to take advantage of the fact that the governor the senate and the house are all democrats at the moment. This is professor. Kim england directs the harry bridges center for labor studies at the university of washington. She says washington has bucked the national trend of declining union membership in large part because of the state's robust public sector and service worker unions..

"I just hope it changes some attitudes from from people because it just really. Burn. When the people just are wrote. wrote and they just by down and crawl, and they say get a test and it. What do you need a textbook and now why? Wasn't their story. They waited seven hours to get a test. And then what are they going to do with the task? It doesn't matter if even negative. We're GONNA. Call you positive and it's It's just way too much. Government and too much dependency in a wouldn't be so bad if they were doing it and everybody recognized this and just dismissed them. That's what finally happened in the Soviet system they. Everybody knew what they were doing, so nobody believed what they say, but we still have. People easily terrified from the and yet even with my negative impression of all this I still give a lot of people pass because I'd say boy I say. People are getting sick. People can die from this and you guys are just you know endangering the world doing this, but. There's a lot more to it than simply saying that you have to lie to us about what's going on and you. We can worry about the virus and the danger of it, but in a proper perspective, but to turn it around and say it needs to do. It requires us to do something we have never done before, and that's the lockdown and now stories. You read locked down, so we're GONNA. Kill more people than the corona virus. It may have already happened, but it's. It's just once again. How are these problems? saw is really by politicians and bureaucrats and money grabbers and all these things. Things, and then there will be an incentive to make things worse and use it for political reasons, so is a mess and I think as an outgrowth of the fact that our country is bankrupt. You know I wrote a little article. I'll go bankrupt financially. We're bankrupt and morally bankrupt, so this invites this and I think the disgust with what's happening invites the extremists from to get in office, and and they're there and who knows I think this is an important election not that I think Dick..

"That's the worst thing from from his opinion that we should allow the president to do. But constitutionally he does have the right especially, even if it's a declared war. You can't tell the president how to maneuver the troops. I mean like after World War Two broke out simultaneously with Japan and Europe. And since it's been considered, an is a real war. They can't be micromanaged. They you know. Somebody's GonNa have to make a decision. If you want to win the war in this case, though it's so different and we've already said this this. This is one of the flaws in what they're trying to do. Manage Award. That's not a war and doing it without a blatant violation of the constitution. Has a footnote I. Don't know if you noticed this I wonder what the media's GonNa, make of it. Did you see the Jeff Sessions was defeated? Stay against trump backed candidate and. Sessions is really key in the beginning of the Russia gate. He's the one who recused himself from it for very dubious reasons so I don't know what it means, but it's interesting, but so we'll we'll. We'll follow this and we'll see what happens We'll see if trump's able to I. even if he wants to you, but what's over to something? We've been covering for a while. While Dr Paul, and that's the critical issue of Florida and Texas into a lesser extent, Arizona which are grabbing the headlines. In fact, let's look at this I clip. This is the scare headlines of the week Florida's passes. Seventy seven thousand cove, nineteen cases, twenty nine hundred deaths health officials say this is the scare quotes, and you'll see it everywhere from drudge to any every one of these. The news outlets that are obsessed with this, but what's fascinating and I I saw this last week and I didn't really say anything because I. Just wasn't sure and I didn't WanNa. Bring it up, but let's look at that next clip. This is a twitter account. Rebel Cole. Who I brought this up back on July eleventh..

"You're disappointed, because of course you're against the surge in oh seven, you're against the war in the beginning and sometimes our our friends especially when the Democrats held Congress, we had a lot of allies in the Democratic Party against the war in sometimes, they would come up with a resolution that was probably a well meaning, but it tended. Tended to go overboard in to push the president in even though you don't like strong president beyond the constitution, but within his constitutional balance, and so we would try to tinker with say hey, can you change this a little bit and and make it more about the appropriation funds, the authorization of funds, which is what Congress has the power, and so this is this is all the bad things back then that you would have rejected now coming back into bipartisan way. Isn't it interesting? We were working on bipartisan? Group to prevent this from happening and going in now they've turned around. Say Oh, we're bipartisan. We're GONNA work with the Democrats and the Democrats going to do this to keep them there. You know so. That's that's their big purpose, but it's also I think there's a deep state influence in this about where we are in the deep state, certainly wouldn't agree with trump on his foreign policy and I, it's it's something that I think is is very important because it has to do with our empire, you know and how you? Protect the empire. An Empire means protecting the reserve currency of the world protecting enough power to issue sanctions so this this whole thing since they'll never be satisfied. No matter what trump would do, the only thing they can do is what they tried to do. And when they tried to prevent his election and this. This is the they they need to power. It's a power struggle, and that's why this election is. A IS A. A big deal and it can get. I imagine it's going to get pretty nasty before it's all over so but the unfortunate thing, though if you want to be a little bit cynical, you might say yeah, yeah, really, what does it matter? It seems like even if even the trump's versus the pollution all this the deep state. Still you know pretty powerful long-term. The policies don't change even though right here. This looks like. They're not faking disagreement. I think they honestly one to. It's more more power than bringing US home. You know or or keeping or keeping in those places so and it certainly is never a money policy. They. Way They they've pass out money. They're not gonNA. Take any money away from the from the. Military Industrial Complex, and there's a bill coming up. The DA is up and they're trying to put this in here in whether they put something in with teeth. Or whether they just make public relations statement that we don't like what trump's doing remains to be seen remains to be seen, and we're not. Trump is no peace, nick. He's busy rattling sabers in the South China Sea, so we're not here saying hey, we got peace candidate, but the fact is a Washington needs war to survive, and that's one of the reasons..

"We are raising money for kind of funny future. Hopefully, new employees hopefully, a studio world tour for sure we just got back from Arizona. We're gonna come to do. We're doing our normal morning show today kinda funny daily KF af then at noon issue coming out with the announcement stream recapping where we are on the thermometer. Recapping what he's doing in twenty nineteen talking about new stretch goals talking about Howard to be hanging out with you the rest of the day playing video games. Drink and doing a podcast having a good old time. Hopefully, you're seeing it live. So, you know, or maybe you're getting this later, and you're like wise, everything after twitch now, you know, today, we're brought to you by quip in alien blackout. But I'll tell you about that later for now, let's begin the show with what is an forever will be the rope report. Five items on the road. Baggers does Gary. Yeah. Next generation is knocking at our dorm excited about this Jian Joe scrambles a made up name, and I don't care how many UK k people try to tell me they've met him annoys a real person. He's not real berry. Berry many times. Did you meet him? Did he look the exact same every time or as I g and hiring different? Joe scrabble's every time I refuse to believe Sony might be shifting first. Parties to PlayStation, five Joe rights, or whoever this man is Sony is apparently having its first party studios. Focus on PlayStation, five game development. But we may not see the fruits of that labor for some time industry analyst Daniel Ahmad who has previously reported inside information ahead of official confirmation took to reset era to explain that quote in general, most of the focus for Sony first parties to us is on PS five right now is still early to talk about nexgen. But I imagine we'll hear some whispers come out GD, and quote, he added, quote, PlayStation or PS five Deb kits are out there. I've heard positive things about it. And quote Sony has already officially confirmed that it's begun on. It's begun work on creating a PlayStation five and several third party publishers, including Scranton, but says the inactivation are openly working on nexgen games. Are you shocked Gary what no I'm not sure? Obviously inevitable. You know, PlayStation, five will follow PlayStation four's, surely as as night follows day station. Five begets PlayStation six it's then adventure. And eventually if you remember that beauty that glowing orb that would remember the PlayStation nine. It was like a crystal ball thing. We'll eventually get there. But no as Neville is still a someone who's excited about next generation stuff. It's exciting to to see the the evidence. It's actually happening. That's the thing that I want everybody who's listening or washing right now to embrace this moment. Wow. Rumors have PlayStation five. This is so exciting. But why because like six months from now, maybe even a year, depending on that's actually we're gonna be so sick of talking about rumors PlayStation five, and what it can do what it can't do in. Like, I remember when we got excited for Orbis. I remember when we got excited. I it's funny. They bring a Joe brings up GDP here. Because of course, you see the games developer conference here in San Francisco and Marsh every year spring. I remember when that was the first time the PlayStation, four pro news had leaked right where somebody had overheard another developer talking in line for a sandwich, or whatever and started putting all together. But eventually we just get the point of like just give me the damn thing. Show me the real thing. Explain what PlayStation five is. And that's I'm not there yet. But I feel like I want your opinion on this. I feel like next isn't going to be boring, but I just. I don't think it's going to be. It's not gonna be this giant step forward. Right. Like, I feel like we've got graphics and fidelity and sound all stuff to not the best that can ever be. Because obviously, you can always get better..
