The Theft of Childhood With Karol Markowicz
"Said this for a while that the left aims to steal the youth to rob the innocence of our children. That's exactly the name of a new national bestseller, stolen youth by Carol markowitz and Bethany mandel, how radicals are erasing innocence and indoctrinating a generation and Carol joins us now. Carol welcome to the program. Hi, Charlie. Thank you so much for having me. Tell us about the book and how are our children's youth being stolen? The book is an exploration of the way the woke culture has taken over all of our institutions, all of our schools, organizations, licensing, organizations, basically every facet of society, and is now aiming all of their power at children to get them indoctrinated. And to separate the family in the book, we open with a history chapter on totalitarian societies and the way that this is not new. This is, you know, we have new words for it and we have new ideas that they're trying to push, but the idea of separating the child from his parents and getting that child indoctrinated into whatever idea you want them to have. That's a really old tale and we're seeing it happening in America today.

Remains of 160 people found in Bay Area cremation warehouse
"Remains of multiple people have been found in the cremation warehouse in California. I'm Lisa dwyer. San Francisco Bay Area officials are working to identify the families of 160 people whose remains were found and warehouse used by a cremation business whose license was suspended. 6 bodies in the ash remains of 154 other people were found earlier this month at a warehouse in Hayward after the California cemetery and funeral bureau received several complaints from customers saying ocean view creations had stopped responding to them. Ocean view had its license suspended in 2018 and again last year and was not supposed to be operating or keeping remains in a warehouse. Many apparently were supposed to be dispersed at sea. The remains date back to 2013, but with poor record keeping and no contracts found, officials now have to check different databases to find out who the relatives are. I'm Lisa dwyer

GOP leader 'pausing' social media after liking naughty LGBTQ posts
"Tennessee's lieutenant governor Randy mcnally is taking a break from social media. Last week, 79 year old Republican Randy mcnally said he had no intention of stopping after revelations that he repeatedly commented on racy post by a 20 year old gay model and other LGBTQ personalities. The lieutenant governor of Tennessee has been accused of hypocrisy and was lampooned on Saturday Night Live this week for among other things, saying his intent was engagement and encouragement when he commented with hearts and fire emojis on a photo of the young man's backside. Mcnally has issued an apology, saying he did not mean to embarrass anyone, and says he's pausing all social media activity to reflect and receive more guidance. Mcnally denies having a record that his anti gay that says he supports traditional marriage and has supported legislation restricting drag shows. Mexican Cartel Claims 'Mistaken Identity' Over Kidnapped Americans
"I'm back with Debbie. We're talking actually about the kidnap and murder of two Americans in Mexico Debbie was laying the context for it. And you made the point that in the David Hartley case, but also in the new case, the current case, they invoke mistaken identity. Now, what I find strange about this is that you got four black guys from was it South Carolina in American vehicle. They didn't rent this car in Mexico. They're driving their own car apparently with the U.S. U.S. license plates. So is it reasonable to say that there were mistakes? Well, according to the Mexican authorities, they thought that they were Haitian drug smugglers. Which, again, doesn't make sense because what do the, what does the gulf cartel and the Los Zetas cartel or whatever? The two Mexican cartels. Yeah, what do they care about Haitian drug smugglers? I mean, it just doesn't make any sense, right? So, and again, U.S. license plates really, it wasn't around. I think that in these cases, they like to say mistaken identity because they don't want to give Americans the idea that it's unsafe to go to Mexico, that you're vulnerable if you go. So they say, oh, listen, no. The cartels are there, but they only kill each other. Once in a while, they can be they mistake somebody else from being in the cartels, and that's why they get a bullet between the eyes. But in general, there's no targeting of tourists, there's no going after foreigners. I think this is why they put other mistaken identity.

Why Do Cartels Kidnap Americans?
"I talked a couple of days ago about this very disturbing incident involving the cartels, Mexico, and the murder in Matamoros or in the modern Morris area of a couple of Americans and wounding of a third. So these are four African Americans who went down to Mexico in an American vehicle with American license plates, apparently one of them was getting some surgery, a tummy tucked something like that. And there was somehow cornered and kidnapped and chased. And then two of them killed by the cartels. And this raises all kinds of questions. It raises the questions about the border. It raises questions about the cartels. It raises questions about the security of Americans going to Mexico, which a lot of Americans do. Sometimes for casual purposes, if they live near the border, they go over to eat, and they come back, or they go on vacation or they go to get dental work done and all kinds of things. We know a guy who goes to get his dental worked out in Mexico because it's a lot cheaper. And Debbie's all over this topic and knows a lot about it. And the thing that you were telling me really struck me is that although we should talk about the latest incident, there's a kind of context. There's a background to it, and you've been tracking this stuff for at least a decade. For a long time. So back in 2010, it was actually September of 2010, a man by the name of David Hartley was skiing was jet skiing with his wife, and they were, they were jet skiing on this Lake that basically separates the United States from a merit from Mexico. And it's called falcon Lake, and they were just having a good time. I think they were taking photographs of this old church that's kind of sunk in a little bit on the side of the Mexican side. And all of a sudden, these two boats come after them, like speeding boats come after them, and when they saw that this was happening, they took off, right? And asked the chase began, they shot him in the head twice.

Sheriff William Snyder: Illegal Immigration Creates More Problems
"I thought correct me if I'm wrong like I said I follow the Martin county sheriffs but we're talking to sheriff Bill Snyder from Martin county Florida had an interesting interaction with a group of illegal aliens recently But did I see on the page recently there was some kind of a car accident incident with someone who was here illegally So again sheriff what you're saying here is it's not just that you violated the law by coming here illegally Yeah that's obvious That's why it's called a legal illegal immigration But you create the opportunity for sex trafficking Number one for people to be used as mules to pay off their dad which creates a drug problem number two but also if you can't get a driver's license and you hit God forbid it hurt or even kill someone Now there's no insurance company involved The person's hurt in the hospital as this kind of stuff all cascades and creates even more problems as a result of the illegal immigration Oh damn look this a complex public safety problem This morning when I came in the first report I looked at was Driver They don't have driver's license So what happens They get scared They're just they're people They're breaking the law that driving without ever having a driver's license They crash into a car They don't have insurance they leave the same We see that day in and day out We have so many unlicensed drivers in this county that we are starting an operation next week where we'll be targeting people who have never had a driver's license And so what you said is right Dan It's a cascading chain of events that marginalizes these people and makes legal people here more vulnerable to trouble to crime You're right

Sheriff William Snyder: Illegal Immigration Is High in South Florida
"This has become a national problem though hasn't it I mean you've been in office a while So you have a people like you here you've got a really good kind of sense for the county You've been here a lot longer than most people But if you seen the illegal immigration problem in this county Martin county I know you talked to other sheriffs around the rather large state of Florida as well Has it gotten worse in the state of Florida over the last few years And I say that because I think the obvious answer to the audience is expecting yeah Biden's in charge But what they don't know sheriff is like you said before given our proximity to Cuba we've had a lot of migration from foreign countries both legally and illegally for a very long time So you sense the illegal crisis getting worse It has been closed and right now it's really high We're seeing it you said that Arizona Texas our border states We're only 90 miles from a foreign country which would be The Bahamas and they're coming straight across We don't get near the traffic obviously That doesn't border gas but we are planning and here's the other problem because we're in South Florida that traditionally has been a large legal immigrant board population in various industries The families that are coming across in Texas now are coming here We have a report and video of the federal government unloading a bus of undocumented personnel at a rest day on the turnpike And then they just take a line into the community And they're here And I'll say this real fast If you come in here illegally and can't get a driver's license you can't get a passport You can't open a bank account You can't do anything You live in the shadows And that is a prescription for these people being victimized and they unfortunately sometimes they victimize others

Crypto's Center of Gravity Is Shifting Away From the U.S.
"All right guys, well today we have an interesting theme. And we're going to spread this out over a couple of pieces, and I think a good way to kick it off is to point to a tweet which really deserves the visual, but it's from Brian quintessence of former CFTC commissioner who's now at andreessen Horowitz, and he shared a chart put together by electric capital that is the percentage of all of the world's crypto developers who are in the U.S.. The proportion of the developers in the U.S. has steadily declined year over year. In 2017, it was around 42% in 2018. It was around 39% in 2019. It was around 36% in 2020, it was around 33% in 2021. It was around 31%, and in 2022, it was around 28%. Now, I don't think there's anything wrong with developers coming from all over the world, and the best way to read this chart or the most hopeful way to read this chart would be that other developers from other places got in the game. However, I think, as you'll see from our topic today, that there might be something else going on, and certainly that was the point that Brian was trying to make. The comment that he added to the chart was this. For Gary gensler, this is what success looks like. The point of course is the U.S. seems to be determined to push crypto offshore, and that is the theme of the conversation today. So we're going to start with a piece by Noel atchison who used to be the head of research at coindesk and genesis trading that's called the future of crypto markets will be driven by developments in the east. Crypto investors need to keep an eye on geopolitical shifts playing out on the regulatory landscape, specifically some upcoming changes in Asia. Noelle writes, as political experts focus on the diplomatic dance and building tensions between the United States and China, punctuated by some balloon shaped comic relief that might end up not being so funny after all, a more benign battle is brewing in the halls of financial regulators. While local for now, nothing stays local for long and global markets. The potential ramifications go well beyond crypto markets, potentially shaping economic influence that. In this changing landscape, is more geo strategically important than ever. Earlier this week, Hong Kong securities and futures commission or SFC published a proposed text of its upcoming crypto regulations, slated to go into effect on June 1st, and opened it up for public comment. Its scope includes the licensing for crypto asset service platforms, which were originally only going to be allowed to service accredited investors. The SFC is now seeking input on whether or not retail investors should also be allowed to participate, and what types of protection should be in place. Also open for discussion as the range of quote unquote approved assets, which in principle would only include a limited selection of the most liquid tokens.

Hong Kong Nudges Towards Legalizing Crypto Trading for Retail
"Today we are looking at some of the changing global alignment around crypto jurisdictions and this connects to our show last week on what was happening behind the Bitcoin and crypto price rally. One of the narratives that was emerging at that time in that I covered on that show was this sort of new optimism around Hong Kong opening to crypto trading. So today we're going to pick up on that story as we've gotten more details and a ton more discussion about it. On Monday, the Hong Kong securities and futures commission or SFC published its proposed rules for virtual asset trading platforms. The proposal would establish a licensing regime, but there are still lots of undecided questions. Including whether licensed platforms should be allowed to serve retail investors and exactly which investor protection measures should be in place. All existing platforms would be required to register with the regulator saying that they quote should begin to review and revise their systems and controls to prepare for the new regime. They also added those who do not plan to apply for a license should start preparing for an orderly closure of their business in Hong Kong. Consultation paper sets out proposed requirements, including assessing clients, risk profile, as well as setting limits to ensure that their exposure is quote reasonable. The regulator would leave trading platforms to perform their own due diligence on tokens, including assessing their regulatory status in each jurisdiction the platform serves, as well as performing smart contract audits. Exchanges would be limited to providing retail customers with access to quote eligible large cap virtual assets. Which means assets which are included in at least two quote unquote acceptable indices. While the criteria lacks a little definition, the SFC gives the example of a top ten largest virtual assets indexed as acceptable. The proposal also sets a number of obligations for exchanges, including a suitable buffer of assets held in cold storage, as well as a duty to inform clients of any hard forks, AirDrops or regulatory action. The SFC acknowledged the desire to offer derivatives trading on exchanges, but said that they'll deal with that issue in a separate policy review. The consultation will extend to the end of March with a view to launching the licensing regime in June.

So these bills, like the transparency act for stablecoins and the digital commodity act, which have been sitting around floating around forever and not moving forward for whatever reason, you can speculate. Are now getting new focus. And we're going to have to push some regulation. In the meantime, I'm moving my assets off all unregulated exchanges and we're putting them in Canada where we can find a regulated exchange company called bit by public and the name of the company is one or 5 that trades there. So we bought shares. We own a piece of the company and so that gives us access to the statements that companies making. In addition, it's regulated by the OSC, which is the equivalent of the SEC, the Ontario securities commission, there is no co mingling of accounts, the assets can not be lent out. They are scrutinized by the regulator, proof of assets, scrutinized by the regulators. So that's what we're doing. We're moving it all there. I'm going to have to interrupt you there because isn't it sad and wrong? That as an American, you have to be moving your assets assets out of the USA into a different country because the regulators in the United States just can't get the act together. The why is it that the neighbors on the north have a Bitcoin ETF approved and have these kind of products approved and yet in the United States where the most people got affected by FTX, the regulators that are nowhere to be seen. You're absolutely right. It is the question of the hour. But at the same time, I have a fiduciary obligation to protect these assets. I'm certainly as hell not putting them in an unregulated exchange. No chance. And I'm not putting it on an exchange that's in litigation with the SEC. No chance. I'm not putting it anywhere that doesn't have the scrutiny of a full-time regulator looking at each account on an ongoing basis. And the only place I can find that that's safe right now, as you suggested, the most advanced regulator is in Canada. That's where the assets are going. And that's where they're staying until we get this, whatever you want to call it, shit storm worked out because I'm not putting assets where they're not regulated. So just to be clear, you're a Canadian, right? And these assets are currently in the United States. And you're going to be moving these assets out of the United States into Canada. Yeah, well, let me disclose, let me be completely transparent. I mean, Irish citizen. I'm a Canadian citizen. I'm an emirati citizen. I also have all kinds of assets and investments in the U.S., where I'm an investor, and I pay tax. I can put these assets anywhere I want. I can choose any jurisdiction I want. I have access to the EU through my Irish passport. Obviously, I could put them in Dubai if I wish. The most advanced regulatory environment right now that I can find, the very first license ever granted worldwide was to bit by that is a broker dealer attached to a crypto exchange in Canada. In my opinion, that is the safest place on earth to put assets. So I can also see that it's also regulated as a public company. It's listed in Canada's wonder fi, you're going to see billions of dollars leave on regulated exchanges, looking for somewhere in the world where they can be put safely. And that right now is Canada. That's where my office are going. Why not just put them in cold storage? I mean, I'm assuming that a lot of your assets are not working for you. You don't need to be accessing the assets daily. Why not just put them into a cold storage cold storage cold storage custodian, et cetera?

Can you tell this story? So I have access to mojo's Instagram account. And if you want to follow him, it's mojo and Lucy Liu. That's what it is on Instagram. So my girlfriend Bridget, she originated the account and she has access to it too, so we can both post-op. So I went to look at his account and it says, hey, we can't continue unless you give us your date of birth. And I went, oh, well, okay. And it said, even if this is for a pet or a business, you still have to give us a date of birth. So I figure I'll give a mojo's date of birth. Mojo is 11 years old. Instagram comes back and says, you are not old enough to have this account. You are suspended. And then it went through this whole thing of I had to send them a picture of a driver's license and all this other stuff at all. So to try to get them. And of course, I didn't realize that because I didn't originate the account. They're not accepting me. And in fact, I'm blocked out of his account now. Completely. I'm completely blocked out of it. So sherry says to me, why don't you get a driver's license with mojo's picture on it? Wouldn't you know that there's somebody online that for all 50 states you can have a driver's license of your pet made and put on a plastic tag that I guess you could put around their neck if you really wanted to. And it's like 20 bucks or something. So I have and we're going to post this. We're going to post mojo's dry first license because on it it says, height, one foot, 6 inches, wait. 20 pounds. It looks exactly like a legit driver's license. But the picture is mojo the schnauzer it's so funny. So I get in touch with and I said, so I've screwed something up and she goes, what did you do now? And I said, I said, I screwed this up, but this is what happened, and this is the way it happened. She goes, I don't have time to fix this. So she gets home and she's still like, why do I have to fix this? You did this. And I said, you have to originate the account and everything else. So finally, after about four or 5 days of not being sure what was going to happen and being threatened that mojo will permanently have his Instagram account vote from Instagram, we finally got a reprieve. I'm still blocked out of it. They still think that I was up to something with this account. So I can't access his account to be able to post anything on it right now. But I'm happy to say the mojo does, once again, have an Instagram account. And if you care to follow him, it's mojo and Lucy Liu, on Instagram. Of course, Lucy Liu has since gone across the rainbow bridge and dancing around with other dogs and cats. But you can still see her on her Instagram and great news, great news for mojo. Now that he has a fake ID, he's hitting the clubs this weekend. We're here to open the father and sharing bald next. This is bomb cherry. Now, let's open up the bobbin sherry, archive vault. Alrighty, so the question is, can Friends with benefits ever become true love and happily ever after now for our first caller? It's not working. Let's see how it's turning out for yvette. Good morning. Good morning, how are you? Good, so you started out as friends with this guy. We did. We did. He was in the air force and I had gotten off of two year bad relationship and didn't want anything to do with relationships. You didn't. You didn't want to have a he didn't either, really. He was young and he was only 18 at the time and so he didn't want a relationship either. So we both decided, please be Friends with benefits. May I ask your age at that time? I was four years older. I'm still four years older. Yeah. Well, you always will be. Yes. Something that like. And if you find it, give us a holla. But my father said, and this goes to hazel. My father said, why buy the milk when you can get it for free? There are plenty of fish in the sea. And we decided I decided after a while that, you know, I fell in love with him and first, and then I didn't want to play that anymore. So I decided to step back and when I stepped back, he realized how much he loved me. Ah, took away the bait. It will work. And I've been married 23 years this February 2014. 24 this February. Telling you, you have to, you have to create, it's all capitalism supply and demand. It is. You have to diminish the supply of the pee if you want to enhance the difference. But my question, ladies, is how did a vet do this because Friends with benefits was not invented until like ten years ago. And we lived together. Does that sound like the kind of woman who waits for somebody else to invent Friends with benefits? No, she doesn't. When she's going to the air force and saying, do you have any 18 year olds? I know. Right. He looked 12 at the time. He looked 12. Yeah, you're making worse for yourself there. I know my father, my father, just he laughed, but he fell in love with him just as much as I did. And he's my best friend, and I tell everybody who's having a bad relationship. You just got to step back. You can't give everything up. You have to hold back a little bit and I ignored him for a while and he realized, wow. I really need her. Burn off? And so you've had a very successful marriage 23 years. Yes, it would be 24 February 7th. Once in 18 year old guys, it's the old fog you turn off that. Get ready now. Like you said to the chicken hawk. Show them the ball, but don't let them have it. It works. It works. Up first. I had to train the boy. Romantic. I'm over Yosemite Sam. Thank you very much. That was say it again. Say it again so I can remember it. Say it again. It's the old FogHorn leghorn mentality. Show them the ball, but don't let them have it. Yeah. All right, a vet continued success. No, it's Yosemite Sam and I trained the boy. I trained him well. 24 years? Bob and sherry are giving you a necklace a day in May. Beautiful necklaces from Landon lacy jewelry. But i moved here in ninety eight ones here too late ninety nine and then moved away for about a year and came back so had just a little break there. But you know. When i moved here we had there was a chain of group john. Harvard's down in buckhead went down there and Hops i think that was a national brew pub. Chain right alfa reta percy's fish house. I think was one yup. So personally i you know. I don't think i got here. Maybe after them or just a name on the name it was weird. At that time there were talking. Seemed like of brewpubs opening in buckhead. Yeah it was the cool spot then. Buckhead was great at that time for those in atlanta. That are old enough to remember. That was a really cool spot to hang out before all the stabbings by nfl stars in the l. That's right yeah. that's shortly. Before i moved there. I moved there africa at lame so i came with a wave of lameness that over todd area brought it with i feel bad because i used to come down and hang out at the all the various places the coyote ugly makers and whatnot and back. It was great. I ever seen anything quite like it before john from there you work summit atlanta bruin. I think I did most notably you founded terrapin beer company here in jordan when i was working atlanta brewing. That's when i met spike. Actually john roberts had just left to go start his group up and spike was the cellarman atlanta brewing right so he took over the brewer in the hired me on to take his places the cellarman. And that's where we met each other. We start talking about opening our own brewery someday short four and a half years later. We finally managed to make it happen there. You go and see. I would love to do. I've said this before. I really wanna do a like a georgia bruin family tree and i'm sure it would be the same in many other states but just to see who started wearing where they went from there and branched out. I know. I think i mentioned this before. But one of the guys that was one of the first employees at sweetwater actually has a burrito. Met again columbia. Now there was there was a guy. One of the one of the guys i know is married to a lady from columbia and he went down there and he's like of all places i'm in many in can also there's crappier and apparently lots of cocaine so you're pretty well sets the rumor. Yeah or what you need there but terrapin you know John i think a lot of people look at you. Guys as part of that group of of some of the brewers year with the atlanta bruins the john robertson in his pro max bloggers even martha's villain terrapin really broke a lot of barriers for georgia. Beer right oh absolutely. There weren't many of us back then and we were fighting really hard to teach people what craft beer really was. Yeah and that's so the laws. I know it was two thousand six before we can even do. What was it. Six percents cap. think so. Yeah it was. Yes and that was a big. It's winter when i came out with that monster beer tour which the obvious custer pass those monster beer tours. Oh the those beers. When i when i. That's around the time i came here. That was the thing i look for that. There was so for such a long period of time the monster beer tours and the What was a side project. yeah the side projects. Oh love the side projects to those went back quite a ways to right. Wow two thousand. Seven two thousand eight. Maybe the first one. I believe was hop shortage that you know with that whole thing that went down with nobody can get any ups. Yes the big hop shortage. Those were a tough time for beer. Oh it was very trying times a week. That's when everyone had to sign multi year contracts if you didn't have them before they would not give you any hops at all so that the funny thing about the hop shortage attitude was crap. We're gonna run out of hops. Let's just put them all in this spear just loaded up there. Put them in there right. And that's you know we were We were talking. I think that that's a sam adams. Our jim cook actually helped a lot of small breweries out to to keep brewin- beer by helping them get hops right. He absolutely did. I say he's a very solid dude. Yeah he had excess hops and he put it out to rumors all across the country. The helped.
