"Describe what a man's character should be like. We'll talk about the steps in a second, but give us some adjectives. I can just give you one, and that's engaged. I think if you had to boil it down to one, it would be engaged. A man is engaged in every area of his life. And to the extent that is that what you meant at the beginning by hustle, or is that something else? Yes. All right, so unpack hustle or engaged. Well, when a man is engaged in the world around him, he's very powerful. He has a power to affect the world around him. The world wants you to be passive, which is the opposite of engaged. And passivity in the form of passive activities, social media, watching television, things like that. Is kind of the kryptonite for men. And so a powerful man, a good man is an engaged man. And again, to the extent that I'm engaged, I'm going to be redeeming the world around me.

"The greatest influence upon you? This is a really fun question. For a lot of our guests, of course, it's their father, for some, it was football coach. It was their training sergeant. It was for Jack Carr, the former seal, the author of terminal list. He said it was fictional characters, heroes that he read stories about in your life, who the people who helped you understand the definition of what it is to be a man. You know, I was very fortunate to grow up in a time and place in America where I was surrounded by positive good male role models and most of these guys were military veterans. They had come back from either World War II or Korea. They were my coaches, my teachers, and a lot of guys at my church, when I grew up, we went to church every Sunday and my parents must have gone around to all the other families in search and said, if you see little Charlie doing anything, you shouldn't be doing. You kick his butt and then tell us and we'll do it again. Because I probably got disciplined by every guy in that church as a rambunctious young man. But those guys very often would pull me aside and say, you know, I see something special in you, and you've got what it takes. And that kind of affirmation coming from guys that combat veterans and things like that was very powerful in my life. And when they would take me camping or take me with them to work or hire me to work around their ranch, I was soaked up manhood from watching them. And I think that's something that our kids really don't get these days anymore, unfortunately. Our kids are going to have role models. One way or another. And God forbid it's something like sports star that paints his hair blue or some idiot on TV. There are plenty of positive male role models out there. I just think we've got to work a little harder to get our sons around those guys.

"What do you think of all the various options we have media, social media, colleges, we have the high schools, Hollywood, you name it, what is the most pernicious source of this assault? If you had to say military terms, the center of gravity for the assault on classic manhood comes from X, what do you think is the most dangerous? Public schools. You know, if you, if you read the book, Atlas shrugged, there's a very good quote in there from a woman in the book who is homeschooling her boys, and that was at a time when that was not done. And she said, I will not abandon my sons to a system that teaches them to be afraid. And I think that that's a very good description of what public schooling is all about these days. It's lowest common denominator education. It is designed to make your kids just compliant little sheep. And to remove from them, the impetus to hustle. And I think the one thing that you should be able to teach your sons if you don't do anything else is to teach them the concept of hustle and I think public schools do a very great disservice to our kids in that regard.

"For those who haven't met you before a senior war correspondent footage and coverage of late. Tell us a little bit about your career path, how you got to be. What did you say before we came on air? How many you just got back from a trip? How many nations in Asia did you visit in how many days? Half a dozen Asian nations in 14 days. I usually travel to about 25 countries a year. And I've been doing that for two decades. I started out in the special operations community in the U.S. Army, where it was in the army for 8 years, flew helicopters the last four of those. And then once I got out of college, I became a stockbroker for about ten years. And made a lot of money, honestly, but had this epiphany when I realized that all of my clients who were all multi millionaires told me at some point in our relationship, you know, I just wish I spent more time with my kids. And I realized that I was headed down that same path. And so I started looking for a way to restructure my life where I could have more impact on my children and have more time with them. So that's how I became a writer. And that, you know, that had its own challenges, but not the least of which it was a lot less money. But it led to me getting called because I was writing about military topics right at the beginning of the war. Getting called from certain agencies, news agencies to become kind of a talking head. And then got asked to go to the war zone and cover the war. And that's how I got to be a work correspondent.

I can't believe I'm even saying these words out loud when he surrenders in Lower Manhattan. Now there's been a debate about whether or not he'll be handcuffed. Of course he's going to be under the guidance or the care of the Secret Service to protection of the Secret Service. I guess they have to accompany him as he goes through this the indignities of this process, Arthur, will he be handcuffed or not? If I'm betting $20. You have a whopping 20. I'm going to say no. You don't think I'm going to say. No, there's a lot of discretion. There's a lot of discretion, even if Donald Trump wanted to be here for the photo op of it all. I don't see it happening. I see the Secret Service stepping in. You know, it's interesting. You talk about jail, right? Imagine he did get sentenced to jail. Imagine get sentenced to one week in jail. It was the Secret Service guy going to sit in the jail cell with him.

Look, I've lived in this world. I grew up in this world. My dad was an assistant district attorney in the Manhattan DA's office under the DA who was called Frank Hogan. He was there for three decades plus. And, you know, Frank Hogan had an expression and he said, never play politics with people's lives. And in this particular case, Alvin Bragg is not just playing politics with Donald Trump's life. He's playing politics with the American lives because on so many levels. But on the most obvious one is people may want to vote for him for president of the United States. Now this does not eliminate him from running for president of the United States. What it definitely puts up speed bump in his path. If anyone could turn lemons into lemonade, there's no one better at it than Donald Trump. He'll figure out as you just said, some way to make this mug shot into something positive for his reelection. But it's just not how the system is supposed to work, Mike. And that's the bummer of this hope.

It was really a surprise to see that. And in the days that followed in the hours that followed, even more surprising and horrifying to perhaps not more horrifying. But pretty surprising was that mainstream media outlets started advocating for the use of these. He him pronouns and were prioritizing the use of pronouns over discussing the victims and the children that were killed. And things like that. So it was pretty surprising. Also, then we saw on Twitter, Twitter started banning people who were talking about this other thing, which is upcoming Saturday in Washington, D.C., several networks, some of them antifa affiliated all of them trans advocacy groups are organizing what they are calling a trans day of vengeance outside of the Supreme Court. And what is this even about? They're talking about bringing buddies wearing masks. So they think it's still the summer of 2020 out there. And they're still going ahead with this despite the shooting.

"Want to not the overlook again, another tragedy in Nashville yesterday. In this week of what happened in the shooting at the school, again, tragic person, mentally unbalanced, I don't care what anybody says, you don't do that without having a problem in your life. Also, it's really interesting to me, is, again, we're starting to hear some of the, you know, take the gun mentality from this because they were using AR-15s and others in this situation. This was someone who posted online that they were choosing targets or choose a target that was not defended. Again, soft targets are the problem here folks. And it takes nothing away from the tragedy of the ones who've lost live. I'm in prayer for them. I prayed for them. And you can't make it up. You can't take a parent and give them their child back. And then just doesn't happen. But it is sad to me that the more we're seeing that more and more of these shooters are picking soft targets. In other words, targets that are not hardened, they're not. You know, in a way of being protected, it should be more of the concern to us. And then you're gonna have the whole issue with the transgender issue here and it's already, you've already noticed that they're not talking about this as much in mainstream media. Folks, it needs to be talked about. It was pointed out by someone just the other day that just in the last few hours about this tragedy that they want to go after this quote, assault rifles in which you had 7 killed yesterday, but yet in Virginia tech, just about 15 years ago, you had somebody with a handgun kill 30 something. I mean, folks, it's the target, not the weapons being used. People who have mental imbalance who want to do things like that will find whatever weapon they can to Harlow's harm.

Charlie, I don't think that terrorist acts by a completely insane group should change us ever from our course of following our Christian values following the values that we know that work for children for our society and we certainly should never renounce these views or if anything denounced the views of our faith just because of some horrific acts that were taken out in response to that faith. And when I look at these bills, when I look at advancing these types of things, I think it should be advanced across as far as far as the country as we can get them. Because again, we are talking about bills that are not. They do not touch anything when it comes to over 18. We're talking about bills that target children, that whether it becomes drag queen story hours, these drag story times, the family friendly drag shows and increasingly transgender surgeries, procedures, hormones, that are given to children. These are life altering surgeries. And in many cases, Charlie and I've said this on human events daily, that when you are given testosterone, specifically, every study that's come out has shown this that it increases aggression. And so young men, you learn to deal with this at a young age. Well, some guys don't quite learn how to deal with it. But a lot of your formative years are spent learning how to control that aggression and how
