The Trial of Sacco and Vanzetti

"The crime itself took place on april fifteenth. Nineteen twenty a security guard named allesandro bernardini. And a paymaster named frederick param mentor were delivering the payroll for the slater. More shoe company factory in braintree massachusetts. The men were carrying two large steel boxes full of cash when they were approached by two men and shot dead in the street. The two men took the boxes of cash containing over fifteen thousand dollars and fled in a waiting car to make very long story short. The police suspected italian anarchist based on previous similar crimes. When running up a lead on the getaway car they found connections with people who had weapons that mashed the ones used in the crime. This led them to sako and vans. eddie when asked about guns. They said they never owned any yet. They were carrying firearms on their person at the time they were placed into custody and charged with murder on may fifth and the trial began june. Twenty second i'm vastly over simplifying the case at this point and how they were arrested but suffice to say they were arrested and this is where the real story starts. The trial was a mess on many different levels. The prosecution relied on ethnic differences between the italian defendants and the jurors. There were conflicting testimonies. The witnesses claimed that they saw different things and they had different stories for each defendant. There was conflicting ballistics testimony. The defendants politics were also brought into the trial to prejudice the jury against them. It was also brought forward that both men went to mexico. Nineteen seventeen to escape the draft for world war one. A defense committee was founded soon after their arrests. But they didn't really help during the trial vans eddie. At one point claim that their defense was so bad that they might as well have been working for the prosecutor's on september fourteenth. The jury took only three hours to find both men. Guilty of murder after the indictment. It's believed that the galliani organization began a bombing campaign in retribution in addition to a series of mail bombs sent to us embassies around the world. They were also responsible for the wall. Street bombing of september sixteenth. That bomb killed forty people and injured one hundred and forty three. It was the deadliest terrorist attack in american history up until that point at the same time of the trial. Most people in the country still hadn't heard of soko and vans eddie. The trial itself was really only reported on boston. It was only after the trial when the reports of how these men were treated were made public that the men became a cause celebre.

Why USC's Evan Mobley Is the Best Big in the 2021 Draft

"For the next two months in advance of the two thousand twenty one nba draft that is scheduled for july twenty nine. We're going to be dedicating an episode of beyond college basketball. Podcast to notable prospect. Same way we did in advance of last year's nba draft. We started this series last week with a twenty two minute profile of kate cunningham. If you missed it and you're interested don't find it today. We will turn our attention to another prospect who seems like lot to go in the top five of the two thousand twenty one nba draft. His name is evan mobile. he's a seven foot center. Who averaged sixteen point four points. Eight point seven rebounds. Two point nine blocks in two point four assists in thirty three point nine minutes per game in his one season at usc shop fifty seven point eight percent from the field. He was the pac twelve player of the year freshman of the year and pac twelve defensive player of the year. He was a consensus second team. All american who led usc to the elite eight of the ncaa tournament. Most mock drafts have him second or third in this. Two thousand twenty one. nba draft. So let's start with this dead leg. Is evan mobely to you clearly. Unquestionably the best big in this rat. Yes i think. That is unquestionable. We agree. I mean at this point. How about this. How about this for a quick complica- compare him to a recent big one. He played against and was good against james wiseman to me mobilize more versatile player with the higher upside and a year ago in a weaker draft. Class what's interesting is wise men went second moby might wind up going second or third we mentioned in the previous partly sided. I don't think he's going to go. I in this draft because of centers. And how they're viewed and how their role is changing By the year but it is interesting like if you put mobile wiseman even knowing what wise. Men's out like a year ago i would have said the same thing i think i would still take mobely over wise men coming out of college and we agree on the sofa. If we agree there yes mobis got to be the best big available in this

"Fitzpatrick. Let's see if we agree on this next player. I'm a. I'm a little higher on this guy too. So it's a mad rod- saint brown from the lions usc. Yeah he's a player. I like them a committee. He's very similar in a situation fitzpatrick you know he's gonna come in And i mean there's really not much competition for them. You know pyramid tirol williams. Yeah and i liked terra. Williams pyramids pray. He's okay you know. Those guys might actually be more talented than a Brown but they're also. Canada beat up players through their careers. And i don't really expect neither one of them to hold up you know. And it wouldn't be shocked if They're also very different. Style player that ahmad brad. I think my bracket can be a good underneath slide guy and whereas i i don't typically like sly guys you know where we were talking about driving with the second round when you're talking about getting guy the third round of a rookie draft you know that's cool because these guys are good. Probably get on the field and You know i like him. I just don't know what his long term value is. Because i would assume that the detroit lions are going to upgrade their their wide receiver positions at some point. One of the things that saint has gone for him as he has. More of a complete body work in college. Played six games. Forty one receptions for four hundred seventy eight yards seven touchdowns pretty good for six games. Last season seventy seven receptions thousand forty two yards six touchdowns season before that as a freshman sixty receptions seven hundred fifty yards and three touchdowns. So i was pretty impressed with his stats. So for that reason. I like him. But as cow saying am i gonna adjust him over bateman more those allies more either. The moore's no. I'm not gonna drop them over that but if he falls i will take a look at him because i think the saints brown is stepping into a situation that scrape for him and this is what i. This is what. I come back to saint bad and i. I know that these two receivers aren't necessarily the most similar by keep coming back to kenny. Golladay when he first went till lines. We'll see third fourth round pick. Also he came down where there was a genuine Where there was opportunity for him to be the number one receiver in the And he took advantage of that. That opportunity and same opportunity has been presented to saint brown. I don't think this same brown is as talented as golladay. But i think that that is close to the ceiling. Distinct brown house. That would which is why. I'm high him and in that aspect but low but there's also an equally as likely chance that saint brown is just never going to be able to send to wide receiver one

"Was drafted another god. I'm fairly high on From clemson at cal. I'll let you discuss him. I think about what rogers. I'm not nearly as high on rogers as they consis I think a lot of people saw him when he went to green bay. I think everybody's been so ready for the green bay packers to have another wide receiver inserted in the draft. You know and we're just intimidating in anticipating but you know. I really don't think amari rogers profiles is the number two wide receiver in the fact. That rogers is a situation is so up in the air to say the the to say the least you know. I am not projecting broader. You're gonna be there long term and if that's the case you know is jordan love gonna be all support a wide receiver you know. Are we even sure that amari rogers is better than allen. Lazard now is dead fund as the guy that they went out and got in free agency it to be the number to receiver going into last year before he opted out. You know he's back on the roster as well and he's only twenty seven years old. I think people are really forgetting about devin. Funchess to be honest with you You know this is a guy that has already been a top twenty wide receiver in his career. So i think there's a lot more competition in green bay than a lot of people are are are getting Giving them credit for and The roger situation really makes me uneasy. Amaury writers has some talent. I i just don't think he's anything special. I just think that he's at best a middle level starter of the nfl. And i don't see much of a window of him being much higher especially as long as davante adams is on that team. 'cause i just don't see that the target share i mean it's a. It's a team that clearly wants to run the ball as much as possible. So i'm not nearly as how marta riders. I i know a lot of people are people are taking them in mid second rounds now and i think that that's a mistake. I think he was the best of water. She would come out clemson for the tape stuff that i watch. Those are good points. There's a reason as to why. I say fairly high. It's because i have a lot of the same reservation that you do. But and i do. I'm generally concerned about aaron rodgers in the future in green bay with the quarterback situation. But i have to look back at amari rogers talent and what he did in his last year and clemson and what he did was ball out in my opinion. Seventy seven receptions. Thousand twenty yards seven touchdowns. Yes he had. Trevor lawrence thong him. The ball but still in a shortened season are very impressive. Numbers and amari. Rogers is a guy that has pretty much been undervalued this entire process and now all of a sudden he's going green bay people hiding him and i'm not high on him because he's going to green by on more high in him because of the talent and the potential that i see and i do think that he has the potential to be the number two receiver in green bay S a good gig. Because even if aaron rodgers is not there in a long term disturbance excellence head coach matt floor and they still have a quarterback enjoy jordan love and we really don't we haven't seen much from during love so we can't make a lot of assumptions. But he was still you still first round pick in an quarterback the has a lot of potential people were comparing him to patrick mahomes and he. He was more of a quarterback they just needed to be developed. So i think that. I think that there's a good chance that jordan love could turn into a successful quarterback if the packers ended up do and not Having rogers under center. So i think the during the love isn't a terrible option there and lathered and function function all could be a lot number two receiver in that office. But i think long term that amari. Rogers is the better prospect for may so that is why i tend to be a little bit higher on the mar bader's

"Turnaround. Flip them for profit moving onto the next guy who ran five picks later in the nineteenth pick of the guy that i am super high on. Its the army brown from north carolina. Going to the washington football team and let me tell you why i like damn brown. The rebound has six one. One hundred eighty nine pounds of has pretty ideal size for receiver but and north carolina. he had to terrific seasons. He's past two seasons in twenty twenty. He had fifty five catches for one thousand ninety nine yards and the twenty nine thousand nine hundred fifty one catches for one thousand three hundred four forty nine yards and oh by the way throughout. He had twelve touchdowns in his sophomore year in towns in his junior. This is pretty impressive. Because i'm not sure if the North carolina has had great quarterback play particularly either. It is not. I'm not super familiar with a north carolina. The program but how how how should be the number one pick probably next year so they. They've had a pretty good quarterback he's other classmate that's right. I did hear about how so okay. They did have how but anyway. A guy putting up static this two years as Sophomore and junior. And he's doing this by the way with fifty one and fifth in fifty five receptions so it's not like he's getting a ton of targets he's maximizing opportunities putting up staff that are up there with with the top of the top and so this is a guy that You could argue count. Wise in what he's produced typically makes him atop success in receiver in this class. But oh by the way. He's fallen into the third round. Now the draft and he's actually ending up in a landing spot better than the guys that went before him because the washington football team they have terry maclaurin but do they have a number two receiver. No the don't cam. Sims is not going to cut it. Let's let's be real here for second. Kempson is not going to cut this guy who's going to step in right away and be the number two receiver so if anything. I can see this guy having a top five season as far as rookie receivers this this upcoming season because there is such an immediate chance for brown shine. I loved the town. And i love the situation. So both those things matchup for me and ryan patrick in their offense while just knowing ryan fitzpatrick. He's a guy who likes to sling the ball He's not free for big throws and yami brown is a guy that could be a target while so this is an the situation to really like especially in the strip term but i think his talent overall what is what will help him. Secure the number two role for washington in the long term. You did forget. Courtesy meals with their in the offseason. Curtis samuel okay. yes courtesy. You might be the number two receiver. But i'm not. I'm not saying that kurdistan wills a lot in geometry breath. If i think those are two big comparable players and the down brown can still end up. Overtaken curtis samuel for the number two role because it's not like samuels established in washington. Anyway he's gonna they're gonna walk on equal playing fields if anything. Yeah to co plank. Roads honestly yeah. So i mean i you know how high was on diane. Be brian i think i was probably than anybody else in the industry pre-draft in you know the fact that he didn't get a super high draft capital. I think a lot of people would just never really caught up to where the hype was going was headed towards So now he kinda ended up back back to where he's at. I know you said you saw them. You know at the beginning of the third round in. I'm in motion address. At pretty much where i got him every draft. You know there was two guys. I walked away with almost in every draft i. It was karen's marshall because if he was following the second taking them and diani bryant third. I was taking him no matter what and wasn't trained. Now those picks and i wasn't moving up or down at sticking with it. So i ended up with jami round maybe beating my number one player at of all my dynasty leaks. So you know. I'm i'm really high. I think there's a lot of potential to proprietor curse. Amiel i do think we'll we'll out touch him for sure year. One you know. But terry mccaren is another guy you know. He did not have first round draft capital as a rookie. So he's only got a couple of years left before they have to really choose on renewing his contract whether they wanna pay him if they view him to be a. You know an elite receiver that they wanna pay top ten top twenty money. They might just let him walk. You know and if that's the case the brown is almost a cologne terry records. You know he. He averaged over twenty yards a catch with a lot of volume in college. Which is one of. it's got to be one. The highest of abo scouted and You know the way he wins is he. Wins deep wins. He's a burner he gets out feel and i think there's actually a lot of room for him to grow because didn't see him run a really complex route tree and north carolina. They didn't ask them to you. Know and as kirsten says you know why why would the team tell him to do something different and teach them other rouse when when he consistently wins for twenty on the field every time you know. They don't need them to do that but an nfl. He probably has higher upside now because he can still learn. The trees like we saw with decay metcalf in some other like a jay brown. You know the same knock on metcalf was he. He only ran Slants down the in the Mississippi offense coming out of college and look how that turned out you know now. He's one of the better route runners in the entire league to mix with the athletes athletic ability. So i really liked the army brown. And i think that You know if you're getting him in the late second and early dirty of your rookie drafts. I think you're you're walking away with one of their players in the draft. One of the guys that we both really like. You can expect for geometry brown to produce put up some big

"Take the floor. I the next receiver. Which was after. Marshall at will was joss palmer from tennessee. He went to the chargers with the fourteenth pick in the third round palmer's real interesting i don't think he was on many people's Pre-draft list At least i did see him on any sleeper list. Or anything and i didn't actually do much scouting on them but He's interesting profile. He's got a lot of speed. Got decent size. A not a whole lot of opportunity but mike williams ended up leaving which i think. A lot of people are expecting with this massive contracts. You know this guy that could end up being the number two For herbert for years to come. So i don't see him overtaking keenan allen anytime soon but this guy could end up with one hundred plus targets. You know if if the things shake shake the right way so he's definitely somebody on my radar because at these spots. We're going to kind of get into this. Which you really want is somebody is going to be tied to an offense in quarterback that's going to have lost ability or you guys have You know opportunity because there's not really that much talent ahead of so i do like Palmer you know. I've seen him go all over the board as far as rookie draft. So you know. I've seen him go as far as late. Second in rookie drafts. And all the way into the fourth round so it it really is dependent the rest of your league of where you're gonna have to take him but somebody that i. I'm willing to sit on the back of my roster and and maybe wait on a year and see if he can get a role in in san diego to go forward. This is one of really interesting prospects because like you were saying how this is a guy that i did not have on my radar before the draft. I think we did a rookie draft. Or so. And i do not believe that this guy got a practice rookie draft. I believe that this guy got drafted Discussed at all in like guys like rookie. More and cal. Trask redrafted those guys. Over josh palmer but all of a sudden palmer gets drafted into third round. Comes out of blue now. He's gong to destination with the chargers. Where like you said tile is a genuine opportunity for palmer to become the number two receiver there in the long term because of the deal with mike and so there's a genuine genuine however my my concern with palmer is less about the opportunity and i think that's really what has helped him rise on a lot of draft boards and his why he's going in rookie dress. It's more of the talent and the fact that he wasn't even on my radar heading into draft is a little bit concerning. Because you want a guy that you are faithful on their talent because out of everything talent is what shines is not necessarily the opportunity being at the right place in the right time is good in the short term redraft. But if you're thinking long term you. Thinking dynasty will situations chains on a year to year basis. So do we believe that. Joss palmer in the long term will be able to be the number two receiver for the chargers. Or will they just go ahead and get just in harbor a new number two target after year or two and that's us a genuine the debate and something. I'm conflicted with because sure. I like josh palmer at the moment but i don't know if five years from now if just palmer's going to be relevant so for this reason i'm a bit conflicted unjust barmer although the guys that were drafted after joss palmer. I'm a little bit higher on those guys that i will look to target in my dynasty. Drought yeah well one thing palmer. He was at a tennessee correct. Yes yes so like i. I remember watching You know because i'm uk fan. So i remember watching tennessee. I think they were the only team in the entire country. That had worse quarterback play than kentucky last year. So you know they. I remember when we played them. What they were they they. We knocked out like three of their quarterbacks because they were so bad they were just thrown. Pick after pick. So i really do think that there might have been some talent here that maybe went under the radar from a lot of people. Because the sats weren't there but you know i think a lot of it might have been the quarterback. Play had absolutely atrocious flight that that's a great point there. That's that's concerning though just because you don't exactly know what palmer is going to be able to become. But if he ends up falling this guy that wouldn't be opposed to picking but but but as we were talking about you know we were talking about cell windows you know in no guys that i didn't care for because i don't really plan on playing palmer scenes one of the reasons why i think he's interesting. Is br regardless ever played for your your team your dicey team. I do think that there's going to be a cell window. At some point. Mike williams ends up leaving even if they do bring in another number one wide receiver to go next to keenan allen. You know somebody that's more talented the palmer. There will probably be more than likely be a weaker two week window or something at some point that people will get really excited about in. Call him a sleeper. And then you might be a turnaround. Flip them for profit

Mock Draft 1.1: Houston Rockets

"Let's start with the houston rockets. They are one of three teams with the best shot of having the number one pick in the draft over fourteen percent chance of the number one. Pick a fifty two point one percent chance of winning a top four. Pick one of things that's relevant for the rockets is that if they don't get a top four pick in the draft. They must send their picked the oklahoma city thunder and so right now fifty two point one percent chance they pick it. It's it's really fifty fifty that the rockets even have their pick this year and thunder could potentially have to top five picks. And we'll talk about that a second when we get to the thunder but assuming for a minute that they get the number one pick in the draft. I have the number one on. Big board are sorry. I'm mock draft one point one km cunningham and i'll just say this about kate cottingham it is looking more and more likely that he is going to be the number one pick in any scenario that we can really think about it. Discuss right now he he. It seems like every team and scout. That i'm talking to the league has caved cunningham number one. I mean we'll see more on on lottery night on who actually gets the number one pick in which way it may go. But it's looking highly likely that cape cunningham is going to be the number one pick in the draft regardless of who draft where and certainly for the rockets. he fits indeed It's really a no brainer to have a versatile wing with his feel for the game and the way he can see the floor the way he can defend multiple positions. I think he's a no brainer for the rockets. But i could also say that about a lot of the other teams there so right now and mock draft one point one. The rockets get cade cunningham.

Clippers Look to Avoid Another Playoff Meltdown vs Mavericks

"Los angeles clippers. Where do we go from here. What's happening with the clippers. They lose the series. Let let let let's call. Let's play is the worst case scenario game. Now here's your host. When do what happens. Man playing this game if the clippers lose four row in their swept in the first round of the playoffs. What do we do with this team. You're not you're not trading paul. You can't improve yourself in the draft because to acquire paul george. The clippers gave oklahoma city. I think all of their first round choices until the year twenty four sixty six. What are we going to do with quiet. Leonard what did the legacy mean for quiet. Leonard what do we do with tyler. What are we going to be doing to team here. There's nothing that we can do to improve it bradley. Beal is not going to the los angeles clippers. There's no major upgrade that you can have. That can improve the los angeles clippers for next season if they lose four to the dallas mavericks. And i don't even think it's a situation where we're dealing with lack of talent. I don't want to call lack of hard. I don't know what the hell is doing. The los angeles clippers but right now multiple things going on where we thought. I shouldn't say what what i thought were just like You know this that and the other that wait a second here. Wait a moment memento. There's some really so much stuff really need to look into that. I don't know that can be fixed. I don't know if all of a sudden turn into an alpha dog. I don't know if paul george can turn really into that playoff p. side kick one eight option that they did. We hadn't seen him to be able to do that at a high level at least not enough to warrant him being able to make a return after a six year absence from the sport so i just think it's a long shot in terms of being a contributor on the field with the jacksonville jaguars and if he's not going to be somebody that's a productive player. I don't think it's worth the distraction again. This is another one of those moves. This offseason got a lot of those guys in that. Jacksonville jaguars locker room looking at herbert. Meyer sideways i going out there and trying to sign. I will strength coach. Chris doyle to be your head or strength conditioning. After what happened with his tenure there and now with bringing it over i just. It's a move that reeks of privilege. And it's a move that could undermine the credibility of your head coach moving

"Okay. This next receiver is a guy that you and i are. differ a lot on and with twenty fifth pick of the second round. The la rams selected to at well from louisville. Receive our end. I get their concerns. Ideal disguise five nine hundred fifty five hundred sixty pounds. People are questioning whether he's gonna be physical enough in the nfl. however this is a player. The i compare to markey's brown. I think that in order to be successful. He's going to have to gain a little bit more weight. But i think that to out will be able to develop especially with the la rams who don't need in the -sarily to be great outta the gecko. But i think that the upside for two atwal is especially there especially if he's going to have the matthew stafford throwing the ball and so it was back to murky brown when he was in college him and he had similar stats. Which is why. I'm bringing up the comparison the first place in his junior. He had seventy five receptions for one thousand three hundred eighteen yards in ten touchdowns. Now let me bring up to two atwal stats from his sophomore season. And they were very similar which end so to atwell in his sophomore year he had sixty nine sevens for one thousand two hundred seventy two yards and eleven receiving touchdowns and so these two guys. Besides the fact marquees brown ways a little bit more to travel or comparable. And if you're an you're seeing now to to out while falling to the fourth maybe even fifth out of your dynasty da and for me. I think that's a little bit ridiculous. Because for a guy that had a similar career to marquees brat and his cod season and similar upset that he should be considered a third round prospect for you and your dynasty rookie draft. And i'd say right now. Marcus brand is probably a second round. Pick but i think he could be worth a second or the round pick and this guy. Who's extremely fast as well. I think he's going to create separations and he's not just the speedster. He's not just the speedster he he gets receptionist as well on anyone who puts up almost thirteen hundred receiving yards in college. Season is a guy that is a good all amount of receiver as well. So don't just think of him as a speedster guy gonna occasionally break open deep here and there so yeah. I'm a big fan of to at wall of the i know Oh and one one last thing. He was picked in the second round so clearly. The rams do have a plan for two while. They're not just investing a second round pick in a receiver that they don't see being a great receiver in the long term and this by the way was the rams first pick all draft. If i'm correct so they might have even viewed him as a late first round pick. We don't know. But the fact that they spent their first round pick onto to By having good receivers shows you how much demands believe into Anyways kyle the floor is yours as to why you don't believe in to atwell. Well it says so much that i don't believe in two two at well. It's the fact. That so i am from louisville in. I watched a lot of this kid. He is a very good receiver. I agree with you. He's not just a burner. he is a good polish receiver and a lot of facets of football but my biggest problem is literally is just. This is and the fact that he's completely buried on the depth chart. I don't see any Any possibility of him getting in and becoming a number one receiver on that team like anytime. Soon robert woods. Anne cooper kupp. Both resigned extensions For last year So you already got those positions locked up now. You lose josh rhinos. But they already spent high draft capital on jefferson. Dan jefferson last year. So that position was already and then they spent another was a third or early fourth round. Pick onto harris harris could be used as a tight end. I think a lot of people saying he's going to be a tight end he he. They say he's listed as a tight end but he also weighs about twenty so if anything he's going to be like a a move titan. I don't see him being like inland blocker. But you already have tyler higby as well. You know it's just it's just a really crowded And you also have to sean jackson that they stopped they brought in you know so i. I'm just not sold that there's any opportunity for at least in the first year to now you like you said maybe a if you invest in this guy at the late third fourth round Me personally i'd rather just take dark throws on running backs. At this point you know even a third. The guys are projected to be thirds shrink or shrink. You know a rash of injuries and all of a sudden guys are going to get plight. Be starters and they're going to be valuable. You can train them. You know it would take a stream lee amount of circumstances for for you to for him to get on the plainfield him to productive enough for another team to to trade for him. It's just wide receivers just a position that you know if you don't put up stats people don't really wanna trade for him at all. I mean it's as simple as that you know and i know he has draft capital That's about the only thing. I think he has known. Form at one hundred fifty five pounds. I just don't know if it's worth the headache you know. But then again it only takes one person to trade and if you're only drafting him with the mindset of trading him than you're probably not gonna draft to tell to till In the first place. And if i don't know if it necessarily applies to atwells value the fact that the community hates him. Because there's going to be at least one guy and if you put up the stats. People are going to be willing to trade for him. So i i get that point but at the same time. I don't know if that necessarily applies to At wellness fair. Knock about the onto to at atwill. Because it's not actually something that to two at walt dead. It's more of the perception that people have about two. But it's it's what he didn't do. He didn't gain the weight which i think he will in the way he's still what in nineteen twenty years old. I think he's still

"Now to god. The i know that you are extremely enthusiastic about Terrence marshall going to the panthers. Twenty seven th pick of the second round just a few picks after escorts from lsu tears marshall to the panthers. What are your thoughts on this cal. I'll pick it a fantastic lang spot. you know. I think i was super high on marshall. Probably highest of just about anybody in the industry All all college season. And all you know predrag and my my enthusiasm is not where one bit. I love the landing spot where some people might be turned off on it You know I know that he is not maybe going to be immediately. Be the number. One with robby anderson and with dj more there. But i think he's going to have a clear role from day one because if you look at his body type and how profiles ios not just a big bodied receiver he also is a a burner to i mean he is true burner and You know high jump. High catch radius any any provides the wide receivers did not do as your which was give a teddy bridgewater. Now is going to be darnold. But they didn't have anybody to score in the red zone. You know everything. They they scored was from like you know deeper out or the the running backs the mike davis or you know. But they really didn't have anybody in the red zone that they could produce. So i think marshall steps in right away and could be. I bet he has a real legitimate chance at leading all rookies in in receiving touchdowns ex year. So you know it's somebody that i like. As far as a talent. I think he can easier to age. Well in that offense because He is going back with his former college coach. Now the head coach of the of the panthers. So i think that this guy drafted him whereas he might have fallen a little bit in. Nfl draft because there was a little bit uncertainty right before the draft about some of his medical history. I don't think coach takes them at high if he has any type about about the about his foot injury so i think that this is going to be the guy that's going to be all help you. Now you're gonna have some flashes. He's going to be probably inconsistent. Probably a lot like a like. I kind of value him a lot. Like the where i had claypool asher whereas i kind of knew that there was going to be a lot of competition for targets but i knew that there was gonna be a lot of upset especially if somebody gets hurt And i just think that there's gonna be a lotta touchdown and he's a big guy when people start really understanding how much of a freak athlete is. Don't be surprised if this guy is being compared as maybe even number one wide receiver in this class next year. That's that's how upside. i see you know. I do think chases a better prospect but you know they were on the same team and You know even on the team with jefferson and chase He marshall was extremely valuable piece of their natural shape team. I mean he. I think he had like fourteen touchdowns or something you know. And he had costa twenty yard per catch average on the team. I mean he he really is a tremendous player and then when those two guys left last year you know he played over about a. I don't know about six or seven seven games. you opted out. And he averaged one hundred and fifteen dollars. You're talking about more leading devante smith. It was really. I believe tears marshall who bleeding the country in yards per game you know before he opted out and he also was averaging close to two touchdowns a game you know and this same competition is all those. Stc guy so. I just liked body. I can't i hate to sound like a broken record. But i really do like big receivers. It's not the smaller wide. Receivers can't thrive in that bayer wide receivers don't bust. I just think that when you historically look at all the body types of players that are generally over six foot in there like over two hundred pounds to twenty six. I'd say two to twenty is about the average. You know we get the top hand wide receiver fantasy for fancy standpoint every year. That's probably about the average. So i like my guys. That profile big catch raises. So i just feel like they're more consistent with a when when you get that's capable of being a possession receiver getting first downs and touchdowns. I i like their consistency versus having a field stretcher. We might put up forty points in a game lake. You kyle i am. I am feeling good about carrots. Marshall and about what he's gonna do in his nfl career. The only hold back that. I have with taras marshall and again this could be viewed as a positive based on what i'm going to say in a second is so terrorist marshall hops into offense with dj more lobbying said in christian. Mccaffrey already there. So you're already looking at the possibility of being the fourth target there in carolina which i deal and add that to the fact that sam darnold who i think everyone considers at this point to be in the bottom. Half of the starting quarterbacks is throwing the ball to terrence. Marshall this is this is clearly not ideal so short term. There are some concerns. I do think like you that he's going to be great in the red zone. Short term era. You're gotta be thinking while sam. Donna already has connected to robinson clearly. The carolina organization views. Dj moore's or number receiver cj. Metcalf a christian mccaffrey a year a year ago. He broke the record for the most receptions for running back in a single season ever. She has to view him almost as a receiver. At this point with the matt of receptions which is insane that he's getting one hundred receptions i think it was a year or two ago so that that's not ideal but dynasty football dicey football so not necessarily great redraft person. In my opinion but dynasty football is about the long game and the long game. I see in the long game i see turns marshall absolutely thriving because we don't know a five we anderson's gonna be in carolina long-term. We don't know what the scenario is going to be with. Sam darnold or with christian mccaffrey. Dj more but we know the is one of the best receivers in this class in. He is talented enough will were at some point career. He will get an opportunity probably sooner rather than later if not this year to really showcase what he can do and he has the talent to be a number one receiver. I love his size. I loved as a big bodied receiver. That's a great fan a red zone. There are a lot of good things about terrence marshall and so what i was saying earlier is the fact that not going to be good in the short term is almost a positive here for you as a dynasty are because now we're seeing him fall to the third fourth fifth round pick of the second round which is lower than it should be gone if anything. This guy should be going at the back half of the first half so now because the term concern that comes with marshall. Now you're gonna be able to go up there and gets terrorist marshall and you're not gonna have to reach from either he's probably just gonna fall right in your laps and you're gonna walk is one of the biggest winners in your dynasty graphs. Because here's a guy that has a potential to be a top five receiver in this

"We're going to hop right back into it and we're going to start with rishaad bateman from the baltimore ravens. He was picked with the twenty seventh overall. Pick in nfl draft. And there's been a lot of conversations about rashaad bateman as to where he compares to some of the other receivers in this class. I know in particular out of people have been comparing him to rondo more but is there a conversation to be made that he's better than other receivers qadir's tony that went before him. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on this call. Would you have to say about rashaad bateman. Yeah as far as a baby. And he's a guy that i think. A lot of other people in the industry were were higher on that. I was going into the draft. One thing i do think kind of happen with his leaning spot is these kind of seemed to fall down in some bricky drafts that i've seen and he's kinda back to where the place that i kinda thought he should be all long You know if he falls any further than where he he's kind of going like i've seen him fall as far as like Seventeenth overall in in some superplex ethic. That's just a little bit of over reaction from the from the market you know It probably settle down. He'll probably move up a little bit more as addressees goes along closer to the season. But i think there's people need to be really careful because we saw with. Aj brown where he went to a a a lesson desirable situation a few years ago and people You know pushed him down too late. I you know second second round rookie drafts and turned out to be a pretty big mistake you know. You can't overreact. To situations. Lamar jackson still developing as a passer. And we really don't know whether the baltimore offense may open up or not you know the part of the reason why they might be writing so much inhabit says low volume and passing is because they really dependent on their own their defense and the running game but it also might be an issue because they didn't have the water receivers with the skill sets the to produce so bateman adds a very vital piece in my opinion that they did not have or last couple seasons in in a possession. Receiver know that moves change as well as a another red zone threat to help out with mark andrews because really their receivers have not been responsible for touchdowns last and Marquees brown where i think. He's a good. football player. Is for a stretching the field when he's healthy i. I'm not sure that he's the type of guy that you really want to depend on in dynasty especially in ppo release because he's not going to have a high volume with the with the average depth of targets that he gets. I'd argue that this landing spot for bateman is fantastic landing spot for a rashad baby because you have an offense here with mark. He's brown and like you said. Mark brown is used primarily as deep that this is not a guy that's gonna be demanding by receiver one targets. I think he's gonna be demanding some targets. But he's the guy that's a good deep threat and he's going to have big games here and there but the baltimore. Ravens are lacking a number one receiver. And they haven't had a number one receiver for quite some years. And i can't remember quite frankly the last time they had a number one receiver and resod bateman guy to me that could hop right in there in become a true number one receiver for the baltimore. Ravens this is a great possessing catch. This is a guy that is just an all great receiver. He's going to be a great match with lamar jackson. And he's probably gonna get some solid targets away out of the gate and so i was. I'm pretty how. I was pretty high on them. Before the draft started. I had him publicly about my fourth or fifth best receiver and landing spot to me. Doesn't change anything for rashad bateman. I still think he's worthy of a late. I ask pick in dynasty rookie drafts. You could depends. Maybe even a little bit higher. But i think overall basements a great receiver and i would even argue because i know a lot of people are considering bateman to be the top of the second tier for receivers. But i would argue that. Maybe he should be considered with the first tier receivers as well because if considering jalen waddell to be in that first year a battisti receivers this year now. People are than i have to make the case. The bateman is right up there with jalen waddell because you look at geelong competition and wolf Devante parker for targets. And then you look at batman's competition for targets as well and you have like brown and the opportunity is actually better for the women's and i'd have to argue that. Lamar jackson is a better quarterback than a tiger. Ryo as well and yes. I know that they've been known for the running game in the past. But i think that's naturally because they haven't had an alpha dog receiver like rishaad based in also rashaad. Bateman is a guy that is going to be able to handle a lot more targets than jalen watteau. I don't see as high as many targets in receptions for jalen models i actually think that rashad bateman of very good receiver and he's someone worth considering in your dynasty rookie draft him would be a great value. Fell to like the back half of the first round in your dynasty rookie draft okay. Let's move on

"Number thirty eight. I shared my first draft with someone. I'm writing a book for middle schoolers. It's my first fiction book and my first attempt at writing for kids. I'm writing a book. I'm hoping will shine a light on what it feels like to grieve. As a child. I lost my friend when i was nine years old. And he was five and i've lost quite a few close friends and family members since then molly has been to so many funerals that by the time she was seven she created her own line of caskets. I'm not kidding. She even wrote a freaking jingle. She had been nine funerals by the time she was two. She considers herself an expert and critiques funerals based on their funeral. Candy as she calls it. But i digress. I'm writing a book. A friend has been writing something so he asked me if i would read his and if i would send him what i'd written so far mine is a first draft a very rough first draft. It's not in order there a random chapters. It's a farican mass. But i sent it to him. I do not let people see beneath my beautiful so to speak. I like polished clean. I don't need perfect. But i need almost perfect. I used to need perfect. But i made myself and rob crazy like when i would vacuum the carpet in our apartment. Not let them walk around. I read something about female slaves who before quilts and they would purposely. Put a flaw in it in the beginning of the project because nothing is perfect and when you are no longer worried about perfection you're able to enjoy the process that truly changed my life. I don't do perfect anymore. Gwen i have a party. I don't wash the floors. They don't know they didn't bring in the dirt on their shoes. And so help me. God any a you. People come to my house for a party. And i catch you looking at madame floors but i do clean the house. I like buttoned up and clean and neat. But i leave. A flaw with this first draft was not in any way clean or need or buttoned up. It was a freaking disaster of a mess. And i let it be seen. I hit send. And i couldn't on send sometimes bravery letting people see your mess. Episodes of broken to brave are released every tuesday and thursday. Thank you so much for listening and for joining me on this journey of healing and growth. If you wanna go deeper into the story and hear it from spouses perspective. My husband and i have a patriot. Only show where we have an extended behind the scenes discussion of every episode which also post twice a week. Here's a sample of our latest patriot. Only companion podcast so for me too. When i think about grief. I've had a lot of various griefs in my life and and Lots of mourning for various things. And and you've lost friends So we lost joint friends together at young ages in our thirties. And when most people don't lose friends and Yeah and and so. I think for me it was. It was very much a cathartic sort of. I just feel like if i can if i can give one kid like someone who understands right so that they see somebody understands grief to me. That's what you were trying to give. That was the gift you're trying to. Yeah so. I haven't finished it. But i have a friend of ours Said you know. oh. I'm writing this thing i was like. Oh i'm writing. I'm writing this book. And he's like. Oh my god trade me you know and i thought oh my crazy like i don't let people see things aren't finished you know or like aren't polished and kind of cleaned up a little bit and i was like really like okay. I have to do this like if i'm bristling that hard. That needs to be something on the list. Yup and so. I sent it over. And i just said i'm not gonna make this pretty free. I'm not putting it in or it's no order. There are not really chapters yet like it is just chunks of random shit and ideas and it was like four of them are formed scenes. I mean most of them were formed sean's but they weren't had no cohesion right weren't it's not really structured yet at all not at all and and so. That was a really scary thing to hit send. Yeah and to that is that is something. That's very hard for me bill. And especially okay. So like i allude to the to this in in the main episode that You know i might have had a a slight issue with perfectionism and not letting people See my flaws. Were and like i remember. When my brother was coming my younger brother was coming to visit us and in minneapolis. And i vacuumed like three times in the hour before because i was like oh my god the lions are gone again like you. You'd yell at me if i walked. Oh my god no you could not walk on the on the carpet and neither one of the cats would walk across yell at him again and and for a twenty something who gave a crap about someone's house like he didn't care with like he wouldn't have noticed fire with feces thrown everywhere. You like all right. You got a fire. Yeah so. I mean that the lines in the carpet but that was me you know that was me hardcore at that time and And i really really loved that that thing about the slave the quilts rum because read me. I mean it truly a to this day i m. I remind myself of it all the time that you put up. Put the flying on purpose and because nothing is perfect. There is no such thing as perfection. So start out putting the flaw in and and you are free then to just enjoy the process beyond that. Because you're not worrying about making a mistake you already made it. And the way and that was absolutely the most the single most defining lesson of my life. I think that to hear the rest of this episode and get other exclusives become a patron to broken debris at patriotair dot com. "In his line of duty essentially you know she is killed directly because he's an assassin and didn't cover his tracks i guess she's she's pretty forgiving in having she's she's not too angry which is which is an interesting way to viewer for the first part of the movie but it's also a typical movie note you know it's like i'm in a better place i'm understanding what what were some of the the difficulties you had a figuring out the conversations that vanessa and deadpool we're going to have before you came up with the post credit sequence which you did not have till very late in the game so just just really about the vanessa dynamic yeah well in the first draft the that they break up she doesn't die in in our first draft of the script sh the two of them just broke up and then we thought oh now we got up the stakes a little bit and deadbolt movies work i think ryan i always says it best when you take everything away from him at the very beginning we did it in the first and we felt like well what are you take away from him in this one and that's his family and and so yeah we just we track that story out and and again she dies you know in the first five minutes of the movie but but it really becomes the emotional spine of the movie as he keeps coming back to our in trying to reconnect with our so i it gave us that that emotional breadth that we needed to take us through the script read anything to add no no yeah that's that's because you told me something quite funny about yeah earlier we definitely made it feel like heaven was a great place like she's like it's great up here like she wasn't upset because you know you can do anything and having you you you can eat whatever you want and you can go to jurassic park you know and you can do all these fun things and so we just want we sold the idea when he was talking to her that oh no it's awesome up here day like don't worry about me just to take that edge off of like you fucker that's year the reason i'm here you're still you you you idiot like that kind of thing but we worried about it.

"Animals to now have you ever looked back and pinpointed this as the reason so many people stopped watching i don't think that many people did stop watching i think that that the audience split in said yeah we we lost some people we definitely did and we knew that before we went into john wants to know in the initial year after the draft which superstars do you think benefited the most from the brand extension life field definitely did later on other getting railroaded think ben wall did guys like that there were few wants to now seeing how they on the tag team division wise would have not made more sense to focus the entire tag team division on one brand rather than create two sets of essentially useless titles we did the tag team donal was only on smackdown it wasn't attacking title on raw well eventually there was eventually yeah but in the beginning we didn't taylor has a great question who the fuck thought it was a good idea to have mr perfect tap to task with tuesday's peterson or as you got to impression what the fuck else is gonna do adri wants to know was there ever any consideration to bring in developmental prospects as televised draft pick as a means to launching them i think that's a pretty good idea you could have had a quote unquote rookie and showed us that line and vinci or jr used his old blue chipper line a used with the rock any consideration for that ever.

"Was there any sort of strategizing based on hey we think there's an opportunity for a bigger hispanic audience on this network on this night or was it just sort of arbitrary just let's just try to mike now we'll know the upn audience in the feedback that we had gotten they did have a strong hispanic demographic and we saw that they were you know that demo who strong on upn so we cater to michael wants to know why was this held a penn state does vince just say we're doing a draft next week and penn state happened to be the book of any i think okay yeah yeah that's that's what happened it just we knew what they were gonna do it it didn't matter where where it was really that wasn't that important it was all about television josh wants to now was there ever any consideration the draft or superstar shakeup of giving someone a franchise tag to sort of lock that one superstar on a brand no i think i think again going back to rock and awesome rock really identified with that smackdown brand doug wants to know was there ever a plan for mr perfect at this time he went very late to rawal was vince down on him at the time i definitely felt like he had more to give if given the chance kurt was kind of winding his career down at this point and there just weren't there weren't any plans for him he was there to get guys over.

"No i'm saying wasn't discussed no do do do you get an ounce teams in the draft in the nfl well you know i mean it just wasn't it just wasn't discussed we figured that the announced teams report of the brand it didn't get discussed until vince thought it would be great to throw the announcers and everybody into the draft it's just funny to me that you know he say things like you know what the nfl do that but in the end of yoga drafted together so i would love for to the the dallas quarterback he's got to bring his center the dallas cowboys select the offensive line from iowa what the fuck i need somebody to do that this year during the aft it's if i take the quarterback i gotta take his center to use each other dami likes contour of his ass that fits my gosh well listen let's get to some questions and i want to do this sort of rapid fire with your eye fast we've got a lot of questions coming up but i do want to remind everybody that we've got some tremendous show's coming your way next week we have got what came in second place in our wrestlemainia poll and it's going to be tremendous it's wrestlemainia four so go ahead and set your calendars we're gonna be enjoying that one on march thirtieth and it's going to be wrestlemainia four now the week after that just a couple of days before wrestlemainia on april six we're going to cover goldberg in the wwe that's going to be tremendous because that's the day he's going into the hall of fame and what are we going to cover the following week well set your calendars boys and girls because april thirteenth is going to be all about and i think this'll be fun the first time that raw beat nitro in the ratings that went down on that same day which is kind of fun april thirteenth nineteen ninety eight that's when we finally see mr mcmahon and still cold in a match it's tremendous the following week on.

"In a in a i don't wanna say a smaller pond but a maybe a bit you know less fish in a bigger pond that make sense do you think those any sort of consideration when you guys were sort of splitting up the roster's about who likes to ride together that sort of thing talked about it and vince didn't care so i know a lot of people might not know we're talking about right now but sort of behind the scenes not on camera not storyline wise not how show matches in real life guys were better friends with some than others and so rather than everybody just travelling by themselves living on the road can be hard so wanna develop friendship and have sort of a battle buddy you've got somebody to go work out with somebody to eat with somebody to ride up and down the roads with if you want to somebody double up on a room you can cut down expenses etc etc and people sort of become creatures habit but when you've got a traffic like this some of those you know little allegiances are split apart and now people are sort of left on their own and now they don't have they're all traveling companion and they've got to sort of find a new one the you remember since fan says i don't care and i get that because he is trying to put the best product forward but he does have to sort of keep everybody i dunno motivated happy whatever or at least has to consider it.
