New rules would limit sugar in school meals for first time

"U.S. agriculture officials have proposed new nutrition standards for kids in school that would limit sugar and salt. Their proposed changes would focus on sweetened foods like cereal, yogurt, and donuts. Reducing the amount of sugar allowed or the frequency that sweets are served incrementally from 2025 through 2027. Sodium levels would be reduced by 30%, and whole grains would be added. Health experts say the reductions could help decrease the risk of disease in kids, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and other problems. But some critics say if approved, the new regulations would be a burden to fulfill a 60 day public comment period, begins this month. I'm Jackie Quinn

Tim Tebow Opens Up With a Fun and Odd Story About Cocoa Puffs

"His name is Tim Tebow, and it's always a joy to have him on the program. Tim, welcome back. I appreciate it. How you doing, man? I'm doing all right. You're always busy doing wonderful things. You have a new book out called the one year devotional mission possible. I love that title. It's a 365 day devotional of inspiration. You have always been an inspiring figure, even before you were saying very much publicly, just when you were playing college football, you have this desire in you to inspire people. And the first thing I want to ask you before we talk about the book is do you remember as a kid when that happened or were you always like that even as a little kid? Because that's just a beautiful value and I remember when I just knew you as somebody playing college football, I thought there's just something beautiful about somebody who actually cares to inspire other people that he hasn't met or maybe we'll never meet. Well, I think I had two amazing examples in my mom and my dad that actually influence was something that they talked about all the time with us that every day you have a chance to impact the people you're around and if God gives you a big platform or it gives you a small platform whatever it is we all have the chance to influence and I remember as a very young boy we were in public and we were walking by the Nile and I put in a bad cereal. I believe it was cocoa puffs and then a dad in his son came up and said, hey my son, he saw you and I was only a few years older playing sports, but I was still young and he saw you and you were his hero and he put cocoa puffs and I was like, oh man, I knew I just impacted him in a bad way because that's obviously not a good thing for you and my mom used it as a learning lesson is look. You know, you're only and I don't even remember I was young and before I was even in high school and I had influence and how it impacted people and she just always talk about the ripple effects of all of our decisions

Which Is the Best 'Indiana Jones' Movie?

"While we play our final cut from raiders as we move on to the temple of doom, talk to me. Which is your favorite. Yeah, well I was going to ask you here. So for me, I love grail, I find temple, you know, when kids are being whipped to kind of like, you know, Spielberg, George, what are you doing here? And raiders is just perfection. I mean, raiders, as you said, it's just, it's like a symphony, the pieces just fit together. So raiders is the one. Let me answer it this way. Raiders is the one I could watch whenever. I mean, there's no time I would not want to watch it. I wouldn't say the same about temple, for example. How about you? No, I don't understand. There are some people who temple of doom. That is their favorite indie film. And I personally, I don't get it. Because the creeps. There's value here. I mean, there's a lot of value in this movie. Apparently the chase in the cars or whatever they were, the mine cars. This was supposed to be in the first film. They couldn't figure out manage had to work it in. Well, they ran out of money and time. Is that what happened? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. They may have just written my entire film, they may have just written this entire film around that one stunt, you know, thinking, oh, this is cool. What are we going to do around this? But it does sort of harken back to those old cereals. We're back in the day. So there is something valuable about it. It did. There was a lot of copying of this kind of theme in the 80s. You saw a lot of other properties using this kind of theme after this. And it was a little creepy for sure. For me, last crusade is the funniest one. And therefore, that's the one I can watch the most often. Because I can watch anything with comedy over and over again. As long as I forget the jokes.

The Secular Left Is Scared

"Left, the secular left is scared. They don't understand that people who love America who voted for Donald Trump, people who love the God of the Bible, not only don't mean them harm, just the opposite, want to bless them. They don't know that. They think we're the enemy. And so they have, at this point, a scorched earth policy to destroy the opposition. Now, why am I saying that? I'm saying that. Because Salem media happens to have the money to pay for lawyers to defend against this stuff. It's why I'm on the air. Now it's hurt me personally because I share in dealing with the expenses for the legal stuff and being sued. It's mentioned in the article. But I just want to tell you, we are living in a new world. And they're coming for everybody. Now that's not a problem if you're willing to fight. If you're willing to fight, this is a wonderful time to be alive. But if you're behind the couch sucking your thumb pretending, they're going to come for somebody else and eventually you can go have your cereal, honestly, you've become part of the problem. You

"first cereal" Discussed on Truth For Life Daily Program

"Alistair begg explains why we don't have to feel anxious or alienated or alone. We're in the book of ecclesiastes, chapter four. Cars coming and going, driving north and south and east and west. People going about their business in the thoroughfares of life. And what is it that describes them? Well, actually, whether they identify it or not, they are without God and they are without hope in the world. And the sense of angst that they may feel, the sense of dissonance that the experience, the disengagement with their friends, and neighbors, the sense of disengagement in their own souls is all traced to this one pivotal and foundational reality. Now, in chapter four, he describes this condition, essentially, from four angles. When I read versus one to three, I wrote down on the page, you're better off dead. Versus four to 6, I wrote down just three words. Envy, poverty, anxiety, envy, poverty, anxiety. And once again, there is an overstatement here. Vigorously stating something for effect. Look at what he says. I saw all labor and all achievement. They spring from man's envy of his neighbor. The motivation, he says that makes the world go round is the desire to outshine the next fellow. The girl on the plane with the folder and the laptop is driven in part to make sure that she outshines the person in territory west or at least that she is not outshine by the girl who is in territory west. She being in territory center. And the wheel of life is driven by a competitive spirit. And the point that he's making is this, that when we are moved and stimulated, simply by keeping up with the Joneses, it will prove an insufficient motive, and it will provide no ultimate satisfaction. Now, loved ones hear me correctly, there are peculiar temptations in the land of the free and the home of the brave in this realm. And we have to handle them. You buy an ice cream cone in other parts of the world. You can walk down the street with it in safety. Now you get argued that that is because they don't give you enough ice cream. You could also argue that is because they give you a sensible amount of ice cream. Everything's perspective. But do you know how many times I have dropped ice cream out of an ice cream cone in the street? Do you know what that does to a Scotsman's instincts when all of that money falls on the ground? And you know why it fell? Cause I really only wanted one scoop with tranquility. I didn't want two scoops with anxiety. That's a paradigm of where this place is. This is our home. This is our place. Proud of it, sensitized to it, anxious about it. Envy, poverty, anxiety. Versus 7 and 8. I just wrote down one phrase. A house too large for one. A house too large for one. There was a man all alone. He had neither son or brother. No, and Jewish toil. No contentment. You see this picture is reproduced all across America today. I think of all of my experiences apart from going into bereavement homes, nothing has given me a sense of sadness like the description that is here. A house too large for one. North Carolina. Beautiful home, sat in the midst of acreage, which was in turn said in larger acreage. Split rail fence, corrals for horses, four wheelers, three wheelers, skis, for the winter, snowmobiles, for the winter, toys for the summer, large screen TVs, stereo systems, plenty of seats on which to sit in the great room, a large dining area, loss of silverware, all kinds of glasses for every occasion. And into the kitchen, you go, you find one cereal bowl, turn butt up, and a spoon, lying against it, and a coffee cup turned on its head. And then this lovely home lives a man all on his own. He never planned to be on his own. He didn't build a house for himself. And he's described. Right here in the pages of scripture. No end to his toil. And he says to himself, why am I even doing this and why am I depriving myself? Look at all the gadgets that I bought on where are my children to enjoy them? Where is my wife to embrace her? Where does it all go? How did I get here? And some of you may not be here, but some of you might be considering it as an idea, give up your silly ideas this morning. And finally, under versus 13 to 16, having done what I said, I wouldn't do, and that is. Take too long on these four things. I wrote under 13 to 16, it's lonely at the top. It's lonely at the top. This is a picture of continuity or discontinuity. The king gets old and crusty, too long in the sadly, needs to go, a young butt rises up. Everybody loves him. The young buck moves, perhaps from poverty to kingship, listen to the people cheering for him, look at the people following him, listen to the people criticizing him. Look at the crowd as it dwindles and Luke as he is now removed from the saddle and someone else gets ready to take their place in the process. And that doesn't need to be kingship and royalty. It can be the structure of corporate life in America. It can be the transition within the educational establishments of the country. You brought into the room and the people sit down. You know as soon as you sit down, this is not going to be a good morning, and somebody comes out with a phrase like this. Reginald, we've been talking. And we've decided that this company is going in a new direction. And inside yourself, you're saying, why doesn't this feel good? And the answer is, because that is a synonym for cheerio reginald. We're going somewhere and guess what? You're not coming. Me? Not coming? You who head hunted me? You said that I held the key to the development of this whole area. You're telling me that you're going in a new direction without me? Yes, and you know what? When we've dispensed with your successor, we will dispense with her as well. Now there you have it. Look at it. Is that a wrong summary? You're better off dead.

Farmer Predicts a Food Shortage in the Coming Months

"And now you've got these farmers out there, there's an African American farmer. And he was on the news saying, hey, you better pay attention. We've got big trouble coming. When you say there's going to be food shortages, or are we talking about things like what we see from Venezuela or from Cuba or from Russia where if you go to the grocery store, is it that they're out of honey nut Cheerios or are they out of all cereal? Well, most people don't know, calling for instance is in corn flakes and corn syrup. Soybeans are in all sorts of products that wind up in your local grocery stores. So when you don't have enough corn, you don't have enough wheat. You don't have enough soybeans. Those things, those are major items that we need to make all of these other products are not going to be in your local grocery stores. Like we've been used to for so long, we've had enjoyed lots of food in this country. So we've never, ever faced a food shortage. And I think that's coming in the coming months. The Biden administration that I've been urging to take more swift action still hasn't taken the action that's, I believe that's needed.

Now the marshmallow shapes and colors have all changed over the years, and it looks like the cereal may have changed or something has changed. I don't know if you've heard, but recently people have been reporting symptoms of nausea, diarrhea vomiting, and more when eating lucky charms. So far, the FDA says over 450 people have reported illness due to the breakfast cereal. They've not made a recall. They don't plan on making a recall because they basically can't duplicate or figure out what's going on. But for some reason, people are getting sick. All sorts of gastrointestinal issues when consuming lucky charms. People who've been sick from the cereal are outraged. Something's wrong in the process. And again, nobody understands why, and it's not like they don't make lucky charms on the same serial line that they make other cereals. Something's going on, but if you love lucky charms, I guess these days you might be unlucky. You better watch out.

"first cereal" Discussed on Money For the Rest of Us

"One farmer, Mike Barry, he's a 5th generational farmer in New Mexico, said he recently paid $680 a ton for liquid nitrogen. To fertilize his corn crop. That's about 232% above what he paid last year. What is he going to do? He's going to plant less corn. That is used for livestock feed. Because the price of fertilizer is so high, some farmers are cutting back because of the economic risk. If the crops don't turn out, they're inputs are so much higher. You're especially seeing this in the developing world, where farmers, small time farmers just don't have the resources to buy the fertilizer. So they're not planning as much. Which means there is a risk of less food. And with the higher cost, we could see food riots. Particularly countries that import a lot of food. Areas of Africa and Arab countries. Ben isaacson, he's a agriculture analyst with Scotia bank, said a lot of people think this is just going to mean that their bagels are going to become more expensive. And that's absolutely true. But that's not what this is about. What actually led to people going into the streets and protesting. It starts from food shortages and from food price inflation. With the jump in food prices, those that have food insecurities go hungry. During the pandemic, hunger rose 18% worldwide. About 720 million to 811 million people are hungry around the world. The United Nations says that this war's impact on the global food market could lead an additional 8 to 13 million people to go hungry. That's why no rudin zakhar ahmadi, who is the director of an Afghan imports company, said the United States thinks it has only sanctioned Russia and its banks, but the United States has sanctioned the whole world. Because Russia exports to the whole world and is a big exporter of products, food products as well as products used in fertilizers. Now, there are some positives, which is why investing in commodities is so challenging. The first is there's a surplus of rice. The one cereal that has fallen in price is rice over the past year, Thai rice has fallen 19%. Global rice inventories are at an all time high. There has been an excess of production of rice more than what is consumed annually. That could help avoid some of the famine issues. In addition, when we talk about inflation and the impact of food, there isn't necessarily a direct connection between higher food costs, the agricultural product as represented, for example, by wheat futures and what the final product cost in the store. Partly, it's because companies can reformulate what goes into their particular product, particularly for packaged goods. And in some areas where we have significant competition, think Walmart, think of European grocers, which are more concentrated, they can negotiate aggressively to keep cost down. Granted that hurts the farmers. Who often are subsidized by governments, but just because future prices are increasing for food, doesn't necessarily mean food inflation will be significantly high. Twinkle Coat (MM #4029)

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. Yesterday I was talking about my wife's love for dipped ice cream cones. She also loves what's called twinkle coat. It's something that a lot of little ice cream stands had when I was growing up. I think tasty freeze had it. We've got friends back in Ohio. We had a little small one called bidden Jersey when we lived in the suburbs of Akron and they always had twinkle coat or crunch coat. They were just a good little mom and pop walk up ice cream stand. I do miss those these days. You don't see as many of them. But when it comes to twinkle coat, I've often wondered, what exactly is twinkle coat? When you dip that ice cream in that little bin of nuts or sprinkles or jimmies, if you prefer, I'm not quite sure because the one thing is, there's no exact answer about what twinkle coat is. Twinkle coat being different than crunch code, crunch coat being basically like chopped up peanuts for the most part. But they say with twinkle code, it could be peanuts. It could be peanut brittle, and then in some sprinkles, some jimmies, a mixture. I've seen some people that use like fruity pebble cereal crunched up and make that part of their twinkle coat. I don't go to one place over another because it's got better twinkle coat. Although I bet if I asked my wife, she has her preferences.

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. One of the things that my wife loves, I wouldn't say more than anything, but she loves a good ice cream. But she loves a dipped ice cream cone. Kind of the ones you get at dairy Queen, they do the chocolate dip in the years past they've done the dreamsicle or the butterscotch or the cherry. Well, they've got a new one this year. It's called fruity blast, and it reminds you of fruit flavored cereal. Of course, my wife liking the dip cone and liking fruit, flavored cereals, wanted to go try it. So we looked around, found one of our dairy queens that actually announced they had the fruity blast dip cone and when we went to get it. Well, I couldn't understand. I think the machine was broken or they couldn't do it or something wasn't right, so he couldn't get the fruity dip cone. My wife got a chocolate diploma and she was just as happy. I got a blizzard, so everybody walked away happy, but at the same time, I'm kind of curious. Because while I like the dip cone idea, I had one of the dream sickle dip cones last year. And I like a dreamsicle. My wife doesn't, but it tasted like the old dreamsicle did. We're gonna go try again this weekend, looking for a fruity blast dip cone at dairy Queen. And if we can't get that, I'll settle for any ice cream.

Speaking of ariana grande day singing releases a large amount of endorphins. In your brain so if you're ever in a bad mood you can feel almost instantly better by singing. Like jonjo does with the on his on his own guinea. We'll tell you what the song is. He can download it to your playlists. I tried yesterday with a couple of songs and it actually works. Not like spotify where you hear a song and you don't recognize it but you hold it up. Recognize the song. This is ugity coming the song so we put the link to that so you try yesterday and recognizes long so like lady gaga did i did woo will know nunu. That's the first one. I thought they had found it right away and a couple of other options. That were pretty good. Obviously not that. But we put the link up on our website. John jane rich dot com for those in all other like acts. That's there's a lot of music wounds today that we didn't talk about on the radio so like we always say if you have an idea for our show we want to hear about it and someone has an idea but do our phones work not. We'll see here her idea next Don't dial your act drove us. Call our john. Jay enrich drug six to eight eight eight nine hundred thirty three all right so our votes working out grant. Let's see are you there quite the reception. We've been having some phone problems all day long. So what was your idea cat. Well so i had an idea after listening to you guys talk about ted lasso and positive and uplifting his and i thought about why if is i had a segment called lasso moment in other words. It's it's time when we know we chose the good in an otherwise really terrible bad situation right. So here's an example. So i Was in a relationship about eight months. We decided i worked at the travel industry and we decided we were going to go on this trip and I went to his apartment the morning of the tippers condo. And because we're gonna ride together. And he decided he needed to hop in the shower now. Basically the first time i was left unsupervised and his honda because otherwise i'd always been there with him so like any normal woman would do. I capitalize on that time. And i knew i knew through the apartment i open doors. I enjoyed. I looked everywhere. Flip through magazines. And i got to the bedroom and i opened his table and i noticed condom. Now we've been in a relationship or eight months and i wasn't using condoms with me but my first last moment was well. Maybe they were from before we started dating so to test. My theory i counted said condoms and i left it at that right. Let's do that that. I didn't say anything actually wasn't even really mad. Because i didn't know if they were while we were dating if they'd been there since nineteen five. Who knew so fast forward about three or four months later. I again by myself alone in his condo or whatever reason i think he might have gone to the store for whatever reason i was there by myself on supervise once again so the first thing i did was i took a head. Count upset condoms. I want to the bedside table. I counted common. They were there but there were some missing. And i know wasn't using me but i literally. My lasso moment was at least using condoms. Oh my gosh pas immune how she still well. Did you ever find out who the person was i. I honestly i didn't ask. I was like you know what we you know we were. I believe in an exclusive relationship. Obviously we were not but since we weren't and as a severe like tip for him. I at least saw bright side of the fact. Well at least he's not putting my health at risk. So that was my boss moment. Where i saw the good in a very sad situation very valid so rationalizing it right so you think we could open up our phones if they're working and say call and share with us your ted lasso moment where.

Jason is down your little yarn and let's get out of here talking about dick talking about balls. Okay so like. I said before when i choose the movie i kind of like go into a meditative state and just sort of like eventually. The next movie becomes clear to me and This time i woke up this morning made some coffee. Eight a little fiber one cereal and Watched think i was watching to be as watching one of those free streaming services. Can i just take this moment to say to be. You can really benefit by hosting this show. Oh god yes to be. We need a sponsoring them up at least six times episodes. Yeah for sure. What like i said. I'm pretty sure this is onto right. When i woke up frankenstein and the monster from hell started. Okay this is a hammer film from the seventies. is this connected to the brood. Well you just watching that. That's what you that's what. I woke up out that you'll find that it's very easy because of one Drunken lout to link to this so I love hammer films. Which you know that. That's just a production studio in in london what years frankenstein's seventy four. The hammer films goes back into the. I wanna say like the late fifties abbott. I could be wrong. But they definitely made a sixties movies too. But it's all christopher lee. Peter cushing terence fisher wrote and directed a lot of them But it's horror of dracula the curse of frankenstein. I mean they've there's hundreds of these movies we have course. They went into the fifties. I think they did the mummy. They did the version of the hound of the baskervilles. That i always remember watching as a kid awesome. So i started thinkin Oliver reed you don't have to look very far into his credits to get to like christopher lee or coaching or what you know alcohol alcohol abuse just you name it. Vomit is big fan vomiting. But anyway so. I've been wanting to do a If not a hammer film at least a horror movie from around that era like the early seventies Sets are awesome. The atmosphere is great. There's like you know. I mean christopher lee and peter cushing. Oh yeah you can't go wrong so of course. I picked one of my favorite movies. That might or might not be a hammer movie so you can either disregard everything. I just said Or i will be proven right by next week. I would hate to be proven right. Yeah of course so that. Got me thinking. I i've got. I've had this movie on my list for a long time. It's one of my absolute favorites. Long story short oliver reed was in curse of the werewolf switch. It hurts me to say what is one of the best of the older werewolf. What have you ever seen it. I don't believe in nineteen sixty one..

"Of the usual three house cleaning our problems would be somebody who instigated the toilet. Dealt with toilets very dirty. That's house cleaning. Yes exactly so. We're a home because we got exposed to covert by somebody at work so different joan. I lived together in an apartment. We're sitting here shoulder to shoulder. We share one cereal bowl. We're the monkees reaction in different homes. But we are at one of the team was exposed to the wuhan lab fever. So as a precaution everybody's gone to their separate corners. So that jake sullivan there. He's an interesting dude he went to. I think it's oxford yale and then back to oxford again or he went to. Yale says a yale yale oxford than back deal anyway. I heard him one time over the weekend where he dropped his g. because he's a very precise speaker and clearly like just an insane brainiac which often those people make the worst decisions but He's just like insanely smart and he went to college when he was like sixteen. He's one of those people you know and I heard him drop his g. Once over the weekend in such a clearly intentional trying to be just a regular person guy. It came off so clunky. I mean i almost spit out my food as i was eating watching people at home are watching this and i just think ho- come on you've never said watching or blowing or walk in in your life and it's clear on the look on your face and it was really uncomfortable for you just then to try to try to do the whole. I'm just a regular guy who went to yale twice. People at home are just watching and hoping for a delicious hot dog. Sausage your beverage. That's what it was like. yeah but anyway. So he's talking about the. The overall strategy in the white house has been doing this for weeks now where they make this false comparison between one hundred thousand troops engaged in battle every day or nobody and not any of the you know myriad options in between that that we could have gone with and the american people polls show. Of course it depends on how you ask the question but polls show people are fine with getting out of afghanistan. I'm fine with getting out afghanistan. I think but. I don't like the president presenting it like It's an all or nothing proposition because it's not We still have to get to the question of. How did the country fall. As soon as the taliban started running across the country to come six days to get from one end to the other out of how the hell did that happen. And how did we miss that. And that hasn't been completely answered yet. And i ended up going back to a book that i've read before called. It's spelled h. U. e. the historical capital of vietnam is that pronounced way. It's not pronounced hugh things pronounce wet. Sounds right the book. The book is called way. Nineteen sixty eight. And it's about the ted offensive so little history lesson here if you're too young or paying attention in school or whatever the ted offensive The the guys on the other side of the war from us that we're wanting to Run us out of the country They secretly planned an offensive and all of a sudden in january of nineteen sixty eight attacked a hundred cities at one time over running them and really was the turning-point of vietnam war. It was absolutely the turning point to where we The the public opinion switched and we had to get out and all that sort of stuff but the extent to which we did not see coming an invasion like that that they had been working on for years really reminded me of afghanistan and let me read just a little bit from the book way. Nineteen sixty eight. They're talking about. General westmoreland who was the guy in charge at the time the general speaking directly to lyndon johnson the president as we lead up to this. This isn't late. Nineteen sixty six. This is months before an invasion of a hundred cities occurs and nineteen sixty. six late. Speaking in manila westmoreland summed up his progress by noting a great improvement and kill ratios the number of enemy killed per allied. Dad's claimed successes by every other measure. The number of enemy soldiers who surrendered battles also increased. He set the number of casualties. He leaves on the field of battle rather than carrying them off his rising. The stream of refugees choosing their government security over viet cong domination continues to grow the flow of information about the enemy from the people in the countryside increases weekly. This is july six months before were overrun. We have made steady progress in the last two years especially in the last six months on his way to the white house. Visit westmoreland step is playing in honolulu and told reporters that the war was very very encouraging. I've never been more encouraged in my four years. in vietnam. This is months before they launch an invasion with thousands and thousands of people that they'd been working on for years and overrun a hundred cities and put us on our feet and we didn't see it coming at all. The guy in charge was saying the exact opposite. We're on the verge of winning. Things are going absolutely fantastic. And i wanted to skip to one more thing because this really gets to how we ended up where we are in afghanistan because he was hitting with those all those statistics to To justify to you know the evening news and to the president of how we're winning and it's just a matter of time and practice there was every incentive for field commanders to inflate or even invent body counts it was how their performance was assessed and it became one of the greatest self reporting scams in history. Everyone knew it was going on some of the senior. Commanders discouraged the practice but it was so widespread and so hard to disprove that few if any of the field officers were disciplined for it. So they all knew that everybody was lying. It was the only way you could get a promotion. It's the only way you could stay out of trouble. Nobody was ever disciplined for it and they just applying. It sounded exactly reading a couple of those pages about vietnam and particularly nine hundred. Sixty eight sounded exactly like the book is reading last week. The afghanistan papers about the commanders on the ground. They all knew they were lying to their commander and commander knew that they were being lied to and then they would just put it all up the chain to the president who didn't know johnson didn't know he was being misled just like obama and and probably bush and trump also didn't know they've being misled either and and so it's clearly just the way it works have to add to that there's another layer of it because people in charge of an effort as they're looking down or taking information that's coming up to them they will self select good news as well to fulfil their own egos or their own hopes or whatever so it's almost like double filtered bull spit it actually mentions at some point and how it was compounding because at every level you would pick the best of the best information and And send it up the chain so the person making the decisions just like a jake selwyn was talking about there. Joe biden decision to make. Joe biden wasn't getting good information. He probably actually didn't have the slightest idea of the talibans capabilities. Just like lyndon johnson didn't have the slightest idea of the viet cong capabilities. Joe said last hour. Can we write this on a sticky note and put it on the fridge or like on the oval office desks. So the who's ever president five years from now twenty years from now fifty years from now doesn't get involved in another quagmire in which all the military people are lying to them about the reality on the ground right right well and then it gets even more complicated or less reliable in that you have a giant ideological struggle going on in both cases and in the case of afghanistan. You have the neo cons. Who believed that. They could transport democracy and liberty to the middle east. And anybody said you can't is a racist and a bad person and probably hates their country and so you're appraising evidence outcomes now while fighting this giant ideological battle and we all certainly realized from the trump years if we hadn't realized that before people will tend to self select information that backs up their side and ignore everything else so it was pre internet back then but had the same sort of situation where you'd have General westmoreland or lyndon johnson going on tv and saying things in the reporters on the ground. But you wouldn't hear about it for a week. Because i had to write a column for the washington post or wherever the reporters on the ground would say. That's not what's happening. I'm here and i can see it. For instant for instance. I'm looking at some of the responses to the president's speech on a friday in which They immediately got like. Ab was watching abc. News in david muir goes to the guy in country immediately like seconds after the president speaks and says is that accurate. No that's not right at all. So i somehow we need to come up with a system where our presidents aren't completely disconnected from. What's happening on the ground yet. It's clearly true. we have. You know an extra feature with this one in that. I think the president's disconnected from reality or his own cognitive abilities so old horn. Mr mr president gotta contraire answer. Al qaeda is in afghanistan and so is isis. We gotta take a break. But i just i found the exact quote so i thought i'd hit you with it so The president said the row down. The ground is that these people can't get through The the president didn't say that that's what they said on. Abc news so abc news. David muir who hosted the president's speech on abc on friday. The president said he has no intelligence that the americans have not been able to get to the kabul airport. The question obviously in does that square with your reporting on the ground immediately said i mean just totally not in panel said from the ground there couple after the president speaks. You got somebody. They're saying i mean just totally not. Wow ruutel what does that do to our psyche as a country when the president is saying things that are you can watch it on your tv side-by-side that you're either being lied to or the guy has no idea what's going on like us talking about vietnam or is it just so clearly already a gigantic hostage crisis that our hapless presidents terrified to say anything. I don't. I don't know but that was friday was one of the most astounding performances by president. I've ever seen just strange. What's your guests maliciously lying misled by his own people or senility tech slide. Warm up. sorry. I thought you were asking me go right ahead. Text line four one. Five two nine five k. ftc. I think you've got a guy who's been truth. Challenged since he was very young now in the grip of dementia and what comes out of his mouth. It's it's like a random phrase generator who knows what will say next phrase generator. That's not good. We're broadcasting from home because we got exposed to the covert. I feel fine. you find Yeah actually. I'm kind of sniffly. But i'm always kind of sniffly. Oh joe's got a don't think typically reliable system yet. Jack.

"You if you played a doctor. Who drinking game instead. Take a shot every time. The first doctor grabs his lapels. Laster guys knew. That's his signature. Move you know his signature gesture. Yes yes boy yes my dear so it was really fun to see. It was I i loved the interaction. I thought it was very interesting. The concept that you know we're going to the same place and now then. The doctors become a legend. Because it's been that six seven hundred years whatever it was so yeah. I joined the story a lot i did not find. I'm always the one. Take a drink pacing. I thought the pacing strong it served it well because it felt like you know as you guys talked about two stories you had part one part two you know then a second story part one part two and i think it served it really well so i really like this a lot and john. How about you. What are your reactions to the store. I know i'm guessing you've seen this obviously before. So so what did you make so many thoughts during your rewatch of this. Well the thing that always grabs me with this story is a the show was originally supposed to be about time travel. Well here's here's our time travel. Here's consequences that can happen. you've got first off. You got dodo with her cold okay. Well it's guess what she's going to affect everybody and later on it turns out that the that of preempts the the manos into Becoming more intelligent and becoming the the guardians of the second part of the The cereal but Yeah it's a it's just a fun story altogether and you always you always get the The people start talking about how How the costumes look back. Then and all that. Yeah they're gonna look goofy but it's yeah it was sixty sixty five. I believe she's six. Yeah sixty six yeah. Yeah you're going to have that but it's a the some of the acting is a little corny all round that story. Yeah it's it's just two stories put into one cereal as just so much fun to watch. Bring up a great point because one of the things that i loved in noticed was watching this again. It's it's been a while since i've watched the arc so so what i what really struck out for me was this. This is some solid science fiction here because it's a very strong science fiction privately especially for time travel because what we're seeing in this episode. Is you know goto. Who is a character from a different time coming to a different period. And she has you know. Obviously what you know something that we consider to be pre you know not not not a big deal obviously the common cold but two generations that have been exposed to this and you know especially you know yoko far into the future that this immunity has been has been bred out of society. It's a big deal and you think it's something you would think it'd be something that would be having a lot more often in.

"There seems to be like a hard ceiling to how many people will care enough about like a new toast. Crunch are lucky charms to interact with the post But the monster cereals seem to have this huge cult of personality Especially fruit and yummy. Mummy amongst the sort of nostalgia hollick's over on twitter and so many people are glad to see them back with monster mash cereal. Which is you know. We've hyped up several times ever since news of it first came out. But this is a fiftieth anniversary reunion of all the monster cereals because a count chocula franken berry debuted in one thousand nine hundred. Seventy one boob area appeared on the scene a year later. Fruit brute howled on shelves in nineteen seventy four with yummy mummy wrapping up the monster serio crew in one thousand nine hundred. Eighty eight Beckon twenty thirteen actually general mills did bring back for bruton yummy mummy in their own independent serial form. That was a huge year But now they're coming back again this time all in one cereal that is the proverbial monster mash cereal itself And i'm looking at a box of it in front of me right now and i know we talked about the box last time. But it is truly stunning. I mean the sent me even just the image is beautiful beautiful. This is a war. This is a work of art. Yeah this is. We're talking to your bed next to you. At night it's worth nail into your wall and framing is worth taking to your grave into your your monster mash mausoleum. Even the caveat here is that this isn't the five and one perfect cereal mash up that it might sound like rather each of the five monster cereals contributes something different here in the cereal itself. We've got crunchy ghost pieces from franken berry and blueberry we've got swirled ghost and bat marbles from the count and then orange and yellow monster head margaret's from route and yummy mummy respectively. Okay so what this means is that you know besides being an aesthetically pleasing cereal it kind of just tastes like blueberry real okay Just because blueberry already was like this vague amalgamation of generic indecipherable fruit notes. And just by mashing franken berry in there. You're not really adding a whole lot of distinction and the markets obviously aren't really individually flavored. Like anything to begin with See you know. I can forgive them for not putting chocolate flavor in there which might have been a little bit weird. But i'll admit it would've been nice to get some actual citrusy lemon orange or perhaps even sharing notes to represent You know our fallen monsters free per in yummy mummy. But ultimately you know. I don't know if i can really hold a grudge against them. Just like you know. People have been wanting to bring the monster cereals. Back to their oat flour recipe for a long time myself included But at a certain point he just needed to embrace the monster cereals for what they are which i think are like sort of these five horsemen of the coming halloween season on if you just take them at face value for for what. They are still a totally mindlessly multiple cereal. I feel like you know. Poor it poured in a goblet or chalice. Eating out of something very thematically appropriate. Toss them edible. Cereal glitter in there and give it a little bit of extra color put on some old goosebumps episodes and have yourself a merry halloween time here in august. I guess or ghost if you will so it's not it's about what you'd expect you'd say it's not like it's it it tastes like you missed cereals together. It's like when you go to a restaurant or a gas station or something. And you mix all the sodas together and it just doesn't like oh this is sweet. This is really sweet. You're really buying it for the spectacle of it. And honestly i think it's a worthy spectacle the gimmick here was supposed to be that the the monsters would also released their own cover of the monster mash and doing original song but The the qr code on the back of the box. Just takes you to monster mash. Cereal dot com. Which at least at the time of this recording still only says you know coming soon or whatever so maybe just hasn't launched yet. Yeah a little bit of extra mastering or or remixing it. They had to do this. This hot tune that will blow us away too so you can't really detect the chocolate at all. Because i was the only one that i was wondering how it if it blended you know. It's like i try eating the margaret's individually to try and see but it's hard to tell whether that's just like me projecting what i want the marble taste like versus what they actually do which is just like sugar or whatever so eating an actual bullet by the spoonful. You're not gonna get any chocolate out of it. Well that a worth worth. Now here's a here's the actual question if this is hard to get. Is it worth tracking now bowl of it or is it just sort of like you know. Make a matt remember it in your head like imagine it. Visualize it at the moment is a bit hard to find. Apparently people live in mostly getting it from sort of more regional grocery chains. Like your your jewels or your acne or your derisive piggly-wiggly of the world But actually got a box of this sent to me by kindly sent to me. By matt of dinosaur dracula who really got early hookup of this stuff by finding it his area so I've heard that it will be coming to a much wider roll out to general supermarkets in the coming months. So i wouldn't i wouldn't sweat about trying to find it now. I think you're not really losing anything unless you're kind of person who needs to really kick start their halloween spirit months in advance. I think would be a good a good cereal to buy right on the coast of october. To really put you over the edge into the great orange black carnival. We call the halloween season. I did also the get the chance to try monster mash fruit snacks..

"Sleek pink list on apple tv. Plus ooh what. Stephen king is the writer. Watch while you know he is. He wrote the book and he adapted this for screen and wrote every episode I think if. I'm not mistaken. This is stephen king's first cereal. But apple's toting it around. I mean you go on apple. tv. They've got you know the big people on the bottom and their like but guess well as attached to this though j.j. Abrams is executive producer. So ooh interesting combination. Pablo laret is the director of all episodes. So how is that working out. That cast holy crap. Is this kind of your dreams and gas though. If you're going to do a tv series would this is not be your dream cast. It's a coup of casting it's a coup casting We've got julianne moore had headlining at the titular. Character's you say clive owen. Who who who writing lizzy store. I'm joan allen is back where you john. We've been pressing. You may have been around. But i have missed joe and you don't recognizer just put it out there general. Never when you watch it you're gonna go. Where's joann allen but who was this actor. This actress amazing. Work is that joan allen look hip the girls of makeup. Okay not this character. Up dane dahan. Who always reminds me of the and cap. He does Jiang jennifer jason leigh. She's showing up she's back. And then ron jones. This is not your. This is us performance. I'll tell you that. This is a limited series so this isn't We believe at this point in time. It is a limited series. I do believe it has a beginning middle and end and you know the question is. We've both watched the first episode. I watched as much as i could. And if it's more than one episode so you know the question. Is the stephen king. It is not you know short story you know in the stephen king Like let's just go places. Stephen king it also is the creative freedom of of apple home tv and in combination with that. You cast it in a way that you know. You can go certain places with some of these actors because these are award-winning app. Place you can go literally anywhere. So with that combination critic should miss be a slam dunk. Shouldn't this be a home run and any other sports metaphor that you think of this really should be one of the greatest moments on television is itself. Yeah i mean when you read these people. I mean i was i how what they made together. Gotta see this so honestly see lease. He has experienced the tragedy. Her husband is dead. Played by clive owen. Scott he's a famed author and not famed beyond that. He is an author has like hypnotic powers. I mean some people who read his stuff says they feel like they can't could it be. What could it be. everything was right. They feel like they own him. Yeah now we see in numerous moments in the first episode where he gets shot and the shooter says him. You stole my stories. You stole my mind Now this has already happened. Lisa's grieving essentially lucia stock. Doesn't know what to do. She has scott's manuscript scripts in the house but she won't release them and that anger some people insured does in particular the characters played by dane dehaan and runcie jones then placed jim. Dooley ron plays professor. Nash meal the professor raft shows up to lisi's houses. Like give me major scripts what to do with these opponent fan. He's like you idiot. You shouldn't even have them right. Go back to waitressing or some exactly. Yeah yes we won't repeat those nasty words now. It was really mean just nasty and the moment he shows up. Lisi's off to do something urgent. I mean he won't get out of the way as she. You know returns the favor at the professor. You know hooks up with jim in japan like she shouldn't have these in much worse words some so. What's jim going to do about it. Now we see also has two sisters. Don't run to him in the library. I just got anyway. That's right just going to be other way up now. Has two daughters Play by joan allen and jennifer. jason. Leigh so don't know two sisters that's not me. What did i say okay. I was the only black says the mandate played by. Joe is having problems. I'll just put it that way some soon as problem. Yeah yeah why the source. We see in flashbacks that she does have her own relationship with scott. What's that light. Well i'll quote. She says it's sweetest water. I ever tasted now. I don't toke. Donald tell you don't you don't want that one now that you can't even imagine what that needs unless you know the book or you've so there were moments when i was like wait. Did i miss something tonight. I don't know what is happening. Critic critic text music we watch this outlet. But is this. When i saw the reference of that i thought what the heck does he have me watching and i'll come back to this. There's a reason why asked the rettig so so okay. And then jennifer. Jason leigh character Darla is kind of in the middle of lisa and a man it was like she has the least problems among every anita will grounded. Exactly she's like okay. At least you can handle amanda this time. I did it last time. Probably the time for that.

President Biden entering his Rose Garden briefing massless, the White House confirming vaccinated staffers are no longer required to wear them. I think it's a great milestone Great day. Has been made possible by the extraordinary success we've had in vaccinating so many Americans, President Biden says. There have been about 250 Million vaccine shots in 114 days. Crime and public safety were top issues during last night's debate for mayor of New York. All eight mayoral candidates were there for the virtual debate. Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang is clinging on to front runner status. Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is on Yang's heels running for mayor of the city of New York to be juiced crime, royal economy address racial inequality off portability and prosperous city Hall. Adam served in the New York Police Department. Pennsylvania voters will decide whether to make greater anti discrimination protections explicit in the state constitution. It's believed to be the first time voters will decide the racial equality issue on a statewide ballot since last summer's George Floyd protests. Valid question. Asked whether a section should be added that says equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged because of someone's race or ethnicity. Civil rights groups say it potentially could lead to policy changes in housing, policing, education and other areas. Bye from the Bloomberg Interactive Brokers. Studios. Michael Byrne. Thank you so much post when you were talking to Patrick Armstrong, three Me always interesting. You always learn something. Mr Armstrong, and he said he has a portfolio constructed of 14 times earnings. Including Madonna, which, I guess is it a giveaway price right now, You know that's that's extraordinary pop. That's like that's like an Are you before gray hair working 5 14 times earnings in this marketplace, You're paying 20 times enough north of that first cereal makers he scoured powering, he says, looking for that. This has been impressed when the value investors make money, and this is one of those times it's been, you know, a decade of us. Before those good folks have really had a good market here, but you've got this rotation trade time. That's since maybe September of last year is what the pros tell us that it's been really been working and that you've got this reopening, and it's all kind of coming together for those folks. You know how you have a crush your career like I'll say, 20, but maybe of lying. It's like 10 grades cups of coffee, right? Had a cup of coffee with a guy when of my favorite favorite people on Wall Street work with Mr Kogan and Thea, Others at Pioneer Group. His name was David triple. Although I'm sure you know and David Triple said to be the biggest problem with values you wait, Wait, wait. And you really wanted to keep going. Yeah, And sometimes it does. The value trap is you know how has been explained a lot of times and you know it. Zit jumps out there particularly these markets get, you know overheated, for example, and you're looking at the S and P a 23 24 times earnings You need to say it just can't go any higher can't get you better Let me try to rotate out of some of these names. Into some of these bigger names, maybe dividend playing names, safer names that have just just screen so cheaply. But then you have to step back and say they're cheap for a reason. David Leveaux, it's JP Morgan Today. I love this phrase. It sounded like a Sweeney phrase You wanna own growth? And rent value there. I like that. He's not our opinion. That's very interesting. That's really that was his basic strategic. Take on what to do. Yeah, I'm looking at the markets here, Tom, you know again After those first couple days of this week, quite.

"Sort of system for kindle valla as well but again we don't really know so that's one thing that we can at least kind of we kind of know kind of extrapolate now. What do we know about the readership of kendall valla. We know about the readership of cereals on other platforms and from talking to other authors from reading the posts on facebook groups other social media about authors who are heavily involved in cereals. We know that these readers do skew younger than the general reading population. We know that there are some genres like why a romance that do really well in cereals and we know that they're probably they're less likely to Jump to novels than near someone who maybe downloads a free book in. Ku they might enjoy that author and then go buy their other novels Or other free to them. Book in that's in kindle unlimited then go by other novels that aren't in kendall unlimited that. They're they're novel consumers but cereal readers aren't necessarily novel-readers there you know there's some overlap but it's a different market altogether. So what does this museum when we think about these things. And what does this mean in terms of making a decision on whether or not to pursue kendall allah. Because i'll be honest. I i can't i can't go through everybody's everybody's intricacies end and thoughts on this but i'll tell you guys a mind because i was really excited by this idea and i i've been interested in celery cereals for a while. It was a structure that i like And as a podcast the idea of the weekly content is definitely appealing to me but it was something that i'd had several ideas that kind of came too late for the cereals phenomenon design the fad was over. I had one that. I envisioned first cereal. And then i. I could bleed and packaged it into a book and actually to touch back on one thing. We do know about kindle bella. They're not looking for books broken up and they're not looking for content. That's freely available elsewhere. Those those are the content freely about billable elsewhere thing. That is something that you can't put on vella. So i have now kind of barnes. My chances to do that story developed. Because i patched it up into a novel instead of doing a serial but i have some other ideas for things that were cereal and i thought maybe one day. I'll find the right forum for this. Maybe when i have time and now that i've developed by illustration skill. I'll turn this into a comic an ongoing comic. But now i've like okay..

"You're going to always be a center in other words. You're always going to be without salt. You'll always have no real light to put on the lamp stand because you have no real righteousness. Look jesus came to save us from our sins but he also came according to i john to destroy the works of the devil. Where are the works of the devil. Moshe manifest in the human life in the wickedness of the human heart. So as we look at these beatitudes we need to understand they. If attained will bring a saltiness to our life and we will not be no. We will not cast the law aside. Some of you believe. I'm shaking my head in the leaf. I'm i'm incredulous. Some of you have been taught by wicked men even though some honest men who are just deceived and women that you can never leave your sin. Well if you can never leave your sin you can never be saved because to be saved as to be safe from wickedness from sin. Jesus does not soften the standard of righteousness increases it now. It's clear and i shared this yesterday. If you have not listened please go back and listen to yesterday's message. It's very clear that the law cannot bring righteousness it instead brings condemnation and there is no condemnation for those who are in christ. Jesus romans the chapter so there is a standard of righteousness that comes from god from source outside of the law and that is by the faith of jesus christ we are made righteous by the faith of jesus christ as we place our trust in his atoning blood. There is a total transformation. That happens in our lives. So if we're going to understand the beatitudes we have to understand that they will result in making us very very salty. It will cause us to be brilliant with light. They will cause us to be filled with the glory of god. We're going to talk about what that will look like. But let's just quickly review the very beginning place for salvation. The entry way into the kingdom of god is to begin to have great conviction regarding the wickedness of my human heart. That's what i read for you. Out of john bunyan as christian begins to read the word and conviction begins to come upon him. He recognizes that if there is not a dramatic change in his life he is going to go up in flames. His city is going to go up in flames and his family will be destroyed as well. If you don't understand that you have not yet begun with the. I b attitude. That is the beginning place where jesus starts the gospel message. The other wickedness of the human heart the grinding poverty of the human heart very concerned today. Because we live in a hookup culture. God gave us sexuality now. What are we going to do with that sexuality. Are we going to allow it to be perverted. You understand that when people get together sexually they are dealing with the most sacred part of a man or woman's heart they are dealing with the very essence of what it means to be human. And if we live a life of sexual uncleanliness as one cereal for an educator said to me i wake up in the morning pastor and i have a different woman in bed every week or every day. I don't know. I don't know what her name is. I have to really think to to remember what her name is. I picked her up somewhere and and we had sex and we slept together and his heart had grown very cynical and very hard and That's what happens when we violate the most precious thing that god has brought into our lives sexuality now we go the other direction and we can say sexuality is wrong. I'm just gonna shut down my sexuality my my most intimate desire and my heart for union with another person. I'm going to just shut it down. Then we have to deal with masturbation we have to deal with with unclean cleanness look shut everything down and then we have to begin to ask the question. What do i do with the most intimate part of my soul. How do i deal with this. What does it mean to be human. It certainly does not mean to use another person for my own lust. It certainly does not mean to comfort myself with masturbation or some other form of sexual pleasure know sexuality for god means to human beings who are eligible to be together come and form one body one spirit and they produce children as one man said if you don't have children what is your life four. That's one of the major accomplishments of life is to have children and then to raise them in such a manner that they will serve jesus and then to have that family unit of fellowship and love and safety. That's the basic building block of the human society and it all centers around our sexuality. Is it any wonder the devil has gone after sexuality in such a rabid way to convince us we should sin against almighty caught and against our own bodies. Well when we come to blessed are the poor in spirit it involves everything. That's in her life. The loneliness.

"The people going i'm going to try to dub and some sexy music over the using that to be guest do it. So after the success of what they call toasted wheat flakes tons of imitators flooded the market with new versions of breakfast cereals. One cereal was created by a former sand patient. Charles w. post who was their biggest competitor and post was clearly inspired by his time at the sand because when he stayed there he couldn't afford the fees so he paid his way by working in the kitchen so he was like up from up close and personal with the cereal make so it was very obvious. That post cereal. Yeah wouldn't have happened if he had an estate at kellogg's resort. What wait what they call it. Health spa multiple cyril makers wasn't a bad thing for americans however who loved all the cereal options Just a little side note. This was a really great time for cereal. For a few reasons. The boom and industrialism caused people to have to eat a fast and convenient breakfast the less farmers who could spend a little bit more time at home eating breakfast. More people are rushing to work Also prior to this healthy eating trend. People were eating huge breakfasts And they were just eating whatever they wanted like. They talked about having stake in cake for breakfast. Steak 'n cake. Sounds pretty fucking bad. It was just people were eating whatever they would have for dinner for breakfast. smith towns. amazing. If i saw someone eating steak in cake i would immediately assume that they were insane. I don't know if it was like a meal of steak cake but it was just like whatever you had leftover or whatever or cake just what was in the fridge. Whatever for whatever yeah and people were feeling the effects of eating heavy. It was basically an epidemic of indigestion like people talked about it constantly. People were not feeling great because they were just kind of eating. Whatever the hell they wanted right. So basically cereal was the perfect solution to a multitude of american issues Unfortunately the successive kellogg's cereal and the sanitarium didn't prevent other issues from a rising Will kellogg john's brother Never had a very good relationship with his older brother. It seems like john was a tireless workhorse and considered his younger brother lazy. John as we can all kind of pick up by now also had extremely high standards for living a moral life..

"Cyril lived in exile then for more than a decade until the accession of the emperor gration and three seventy eight gration held the nicine faith and was pleased to have one of his kind at the head of the mother church in jerusalem. So cyril was able to go home but powerful people continued to raise questions about him and a council at antioch in three seven nine deputized gregory of nisa to go to jerusalem to investigate the matter gregory went and found cyril to be perfectly orthodox though he judged the church in jerusalem to be a moral mess how could it be otherwise when its leadership had been unstable for decades finally in three eighty one cereals authority and jerusalem was officially confirmed by the first council of constantinople by then he was almost seventy years old and he was left to rule in peace until his death and three eighty six through most of his tenure as bishop cyril was tossed by unpredictable waves. In a vast sea of cleese gaskell politics. His life was tumultuous with many forced 'exiles and many indications he was sometimes mocked by men who should have been his allies and he was sometimes vindicated by those who should have been his enemies. His life was an adventure in international politics and intrigue and yet he's hardly remembered at all for that he is remembered instead for his cata. Catechal lectures as i said earlier. There were twenty four of them one introductory lecture than eighteen lectures on the basics of the faith and then five lectures on the sacramental rites of the church. And these cyril covered all the basics of the faith. The creed the commandments prayer. And the sacraments. It is the most thoroughgoing catechal program we have from the mid fourth century. Each lecture was addressed to the crowd of adults who were preparing to be baptized. that year. The empire was still very much in transition. In those days and the baptismal classes could be very large and the audience included the full range of folks. You might meet in a typical neighborhood. Some were educated professionals. The most were not cyril spoken away that reached everyone simultaneously. His words were simple but they sparkled with poetry and immediacy his teaching was deeply biblical drawing from both the old testament and the new testament and since he was preaching in jerusalem. His scriptural stories were often set in familiar local places..

"Yeah, yeah, part of the problem, but I think you know everybody is gonna be able to evaluate themselves differently based on the things that I know we're in control of which are our behaviors. So I put a little health habit assessment tool together, and it's literally just asking questions. Tito, help you identify. What behaviors are you or are you not engaging in Because I know if you're engaging in a lot of these behaviors, there's a very good chance that you're a healthy human specimen physically, mentally emotionally. But then there's always gonna be maybe some things that you are doing. Really well, maybe you eat really healthy exercise, But you're just a hot muscle stress and you don't sleep. Well, that's not healthy. That doesn't make you a you know the optimal human. Are you spying on me? Michelle? Is that what's happening right now? Because you pretty much just nailed it. I just had this conversation. I'm like, Okay, look, I exercise I I'm eating right. I cannot lose a pound and I haven't slept in, like a year. Ah, but welcome menopause. There you go. So in any case, that's enough about me. Um, So what is this assessment look like, cause you it covers everything. It's not just how much do you weigh? What you're being my, You know, Whatever. What's your waist size? That's not it at all. No, it doesn't even focus on those things that all those air those air outcome measures which definitely I think at some point outcome. Measurements are necessary. We should know our blood pressure, blood, sugar or cholesterol, waist circumference. But I know if you engage in the behaviors necessary to be healthy, you will have probably pretty healthy outcome measurements as well. You're not in charge of outcomes. You're in charge of behavior's OK, so we first have to assess what behaviors of my engaging in on Ben. Of course, if they're ones that are helping me, the healthy, high functioning human. I want to keep doing those. If there are ones that maybe could use a little work, then I'm going to just Herman and my ready and willing to do the work and then we go from there. All right. So if people want to start an evaluation, what is that process look like Just filling out the form, I think. Did you put it like I didn't? You didn't. Did you send it to me in that last e mail? Um if and I was sent it, okay. But okay, I can put it on the blogged very, very easily. But why don't we run through some of that stuff? Can we get that started? Yes, we can. Through into the past. There you go. No. Did you totally did in the meantime, while I'm pulling that up, Dave, you look like you have some questions there. I do. Actually, I'm just absorbing all this stuff. Yeah, I'm kind of wondering what this customized human being needs to be healthy and happy. S o. When I get your book, I'll be able to find myself Then. You know, Dave, I'm going to give you credit for coming up with this because at one point you said to me My book is kind of like a user's manual for how to be a human. And I thought that was just the hugest compliment ever because that is kind of what my mission is right is to help people be better human beings and because we're not taught the ins and outs of what that looks like. That's how I teach and that's kind of how I wrote the book and so and because everybody's different. What it's going to require you to change is very different From what it requires me to change in my life because we're just not the same person and we're doing different things. Um, so the health has habit assessment will ask things like, um, rank on a scale of 1 to 5. I'm energized throughout my day. I consistently get at least 10,000 steps a day I eat at least five servings of vegetables a day. I so comfortable confident with my current weight. Get it least seven hours of sleep per night. I consume five or more different colors of produce every day. I sit fewer than five hours per day, So it's just I don't even know how many questions around there, But it's cool that punk funk, funk, funk, funk, funk, funk funk for I wasn't gonna say anything. I was gonna let Dave get there on his own, But yeah, When you hit the vegetable one. I was like there's no way James passing this evaluation. There's just there's just people need to understand to one of the things that this, I would think What kick it into gear is, I would say to myself well, what is a serving of vegetables? I don't know if I'm meeting that standard because I'm not sure which would then precipitate Maura investigation into what I have or not. Have you know what I mean? So that in and of itself, just the exercise of doing the exercise may help you understand what you don't know. You know, you can't manage. What? You don't measure choosing vegetables count, uh, kind of, but then you're gonna have to go to the I consume at least 20 g of fiber each day. And if you're juicing your vegetables than throwing out the fiber you don't get to count that, But I get fiber from other places. So that's okay. What do you get? 20? G. Have you ever measured I have my fiber. One cereal every morning. That's like 5 G fiber. No 78, maybe fiber. One cereal? Is that what you were eating? It's like eating bricks. Fiber. One cereal. I look everyone cereal. I am and I have one here specifically for for Dave. I practice good posture at all times. Okay, guys. I just added Michelle's, um, fitness evaluation at the very top of the block when I get down with the show all kind of add a little something above it so people will know what it is, but it's It's a pdf file. So you have to open it up that way. But it is you've you nailed a lot of them. I have strong positive relationships with 5 to 10 people, David What? What? This is David persecution. They've got nothing with you, Dave. I'm just messing with you. My blood pressure is less than 1 20/80 score, Dave. Right there. I get Get a positive one positive you got you got that with nailed it. Um, and my waist Circumference is less than half my height in inches. When did that become a thing? You know, that's actually always been a thing. We just don't do it. So here's a great example of the general guideline right? The general guideline is less than 35 inches for women and less than 40 inches for men. But your height matters. So when you measure out the belly button, your waist measurement should be less than half your height in inches. That's not for men too, because men, their their waist is like lower or, I don't know. Is it lower? I mean, I guess it kind of is gotten queen. I'm gonna claim I'm gonna claim my height from when I was 18. I'm not going to claim my height now because they have compressed vertebrae. So that zoo not fair. Oh, well, But Dave, you're spelt. You're You're not a chunky monkey. It's not a problem. But your waist size is that I've got your very close to being where you need to be there. Even if you shaved off the interest you've lost because your spine is compressed. You make it sound like you're the Hunchback of Notre Dame, though I kind of feel no, it looks normal. I mean, looks normal. Anyway, I used to be 59. And a quarter now 57 thing. So what do we do, Michelle, if you because you've got a score here, because, um, rank the following statements from 1 to 51 is never five is always And then at the bottom, you have kind of a scoring system here. What did you do this and all of a sudden, you're like below 50. What? That's a problem..
