More Reactions To The FBI's Raid of Mar-A-Lago

"Here's The Wall Street Journal editor. Well, first let me play a little audio because there's a lot of great audio on this yesterday. Let's start with senator Rick Scott on Fox business with degan McDowell, cut number 8. Well, first of all, it makes you mad. I mean, this is unprecedented. A former president potential opponent to Biden in 24 is house gets rated. We know the Biden administration targets their opponents. Merrick Garland's targets, democratic opponents. This is well, here's what needs to happen today. Separately, mayor Garland, Christopher wray, Joe Biden need to do press conference, take all questions, explain why they're doing what they're doing, what each of them knew when this should scare every American until we get answers. This should be, you should have unbelievable concern. I got more phone calls. Let's go over to Ted Cruz. Cut number 13. That's exactly right. What we've got to do is win control of the House and Senate so that we have the authority to engage in oversight. It was interesting that the director of the FBI was there for one round of questions. At the end of the round of questions, we were supposed to have a second round. He said, no, I got a plane to catch. I'm sorry I gotta go. He didn't want another round of questions as chuck grassley observed. Wait a second. You've got your own plane. The FBI has a private jet just for you, so you're playing to catch it. You just don't want to have any more investigation. We need serious oversight. We need accountability. The people who have been political and partisan need to be fired. And if they broke the law right, let's hear Marco Rubio say the same thing. Cut number ten. You know, an FBI raid looking for supposed classified documents is a ridiculous alibi. Unlike anyone else in the federal government, no president can be guilty of illegally handling classified information because a president has complete and final authority to decide whether something is classified or not.

The FBI Raided Trump—but Where Is the Crime?

"According to The New York Times, former president Donald J Trump said on Monday that the FBI had surged his Palm Beach Florida home and had broken open a safe and account signaling a major escalation in the various investigations into the final stages of his presidency, the search, according to multiple people familiar with the investigation appeared to be focused on material that Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago his private club and resonance when he left The White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents according to a person familiar with their content. Mister Trump delayed returning 15 boxes of material requested by officials with the national archives for many months, only doing so when there became a threat of action to retrieve them, the case was referred to the Justice Department by the archives early this year. This is an insane thing. It is just an insane thing. So here is here is the bottom line here. The FBI is not trusted by many, many Americans. I mean, a majority of Republicans do not trust the FBI according to polling data. A majority of independents do not trust the FBI. According to polling data, what the FBI just did requires extraordinary institutional trust. This is an FBI under the auspices and a current administration rating the home of the leader of the last administration and the likeliest potential nominee for the opposition coming 2024. It seems like on the face of it, banana republic type stuff. It seems like on the face of it, pretextual, especially because if you're going to do something like this, there had damned well, better be a crime. The crime can't be something like the president of the United States when he left office. He brought with him stuff. Bill Clinton brought half The White House with him when he left office. He was never rated.

"Had Kansas and Missouri Arkansas having battles, Missouri. We saw Eric Schmidt, the attorney general over there when the nomination in the battle of Eric's Donald Trump chiming in with an endorsement of Eric with two candidates having the same first name, Eric Schmidt ended up getting the win and will face off to try and make sure the Missouri Senate race stays in Republican hands and then down in Arizona. Carrie Lake finally gets the final nod that she's the winner in Arizona. Maricopa County, Phoenix that screwed up the 2020 election has done no progress in getting any further along at being able to actually count votes and get through an election process. You know, you've got other countries where they can literally hand count ballots and they can do it in 24 hours. Maricopa County can't even get it done in a few days and they had chaos, they had confusion, like we saw in 2020, despite all the denials that there was any election problems in Arizona that it didn't get stolen from Trump, but a big week there, and then in Tennessee, where we're broadcasting from in Memphis, Andy ogles wins the Republican primary in the Tennessee 5th congressional district. Last night, as Republicans redrew that district in Tennessee, it's been a 9 congressional district state for a while. Traditionally, you've had 7 Republicans to Democrats in recent years. Well, with redistricting, Republicans redrew the lines in Nashville, dividing Nashville up, adding some of the suburban counties to it. And for the first time for the first time since reconstruction, the Civil War, Republicans have an actual shot to pick up Nashville and probably do that new district is about a 12 plus Republican district Donald Trump carried it by over a dozen points,

Donald Trump’s Perfect Endorsement Record in Arizona

"Trump made some pretty bold endorsements here in Arizona. So Blake masters has won. Mark fincham has won, rusty Bowers, who testified in front of the J 6 community, committee has lost and farnsworth in opposition has won. And it looks like Carrie is going to win. There's a 100,000 ballots outstanding. People are a little worried they say, can they still do some shenanigans with those 100,000 ballots, but talk about the type of voters and what are these ballots Tyler? These are the people that went to a vote processing center on the day of the election and then put in their ballot, of which, for example, my wife and my mother in law, they're like, we don't trust the mail and system. We're literally gonna go give I just thought of that as an archetype example of hard R's that did that. Am I right? Yeah. I mean, I didn't see the final number, but most of yesterday was trending like 85% of all the votes that were cash yesterday were Republican. And clearly the day of votes that were cast yesterday were 67% in favor of Carrie Lake. Which tells you that there's probably the likelihood is probably going to be a 60 something percent number for those early ballots that were dropped off because it's the same kind of people. Because they're confused, right? Because what the Democrats have done is confused everybody.

We Think Arizona's Kari Lake Has It in the Bag

"With us right now is the person who looks to be the Republican nominee for governor in Arizona and she looked like as if she was down, but we held the line here and he said, I don't know, there's a lot of people still there. Carrie like joins us right now. Carrie, first, the more important news, congratulations, happy anniversary. Is that 24 years for you and Jeff? Four years with Jeff, my husband sitting right here next to me, 24 years ago, we got married in Sedona. It was the best day of my one of the best days of my life. Well, it seems as if these couple days won't over overcome that, but might rival it. I will say the stress level was pretty high and I wasn't that stressed on my wedding day because I knew I was making the right decision, but, you know, we're living in times where our elections are on shaky ground. That's why I won because the republic is in jeopardy because of shoddy shady elections and people know it and they want to vote for leaders who will go in there and make sure that we restore honesty to our elections, which we do intend to do immediately. Yeah, and so Carrie, it looks as if, you know, the lead right now is 12,000 still a lot of ballots yet to be counted. Are you confident that with these final ballots, they're going to be counted ethically and transparently. We're getting a lot of emails to people that are still nervous. I believe that it's in the bag for you and onward to the general. What are your thoughts? All of our statisticians, all of our experts in this say, it is impossible for my opponent to come back from this. It's going to go in my lead just keeps growing. And my confidence is going to be ethical, what's going on down in Maricopa County, hell no. Since when did ethics come into play when it comes to Arizona elections? And that's why we have to reform them and restore honesty to them.

You don't want us in your home, but listen, if you want to host a podcast, maybe bring out a nice spread for lunch or whatever, make it a party. I think it's a fantastic idea. Lobster can do that. Can you do extra work? Oh, definitely. There's a place right down the street from me best lobster roll you've ever had. We'll do that. It's called Tony's. I don't know. I don't know why Tony says the best lobster roll ever, but it does. Go down there, have a lobster roll, come back, record a podcast, make it all happen. I like that. Because we do have the Celtics Howard in the finals, Celtics warriors starts on Thursday, NBA Finals. I want to get into the layers in that series, but let's talk briefly about the future of the heat. Miami, yeah, that was as close a series as you could possibly get. Jimmy Butler makes that three point shot and I would argue that he were going to win that game Boston was not coming down the other end and scoring in that moment. Let me start there. You have a problem with you at bother shot. Dan gave 7. No, I know this is like the hot take item of the week in absence of anything more. Everybody must have an opinion on whether Jimmy should have driven past or into Al Horford as opposed to pulling up for three. I really don't have a strong feeling on this. I know that's like a total sin for anybody in podcasting or talk radio or anywhere else. We have to have, I don't. We don't know what would have happened if he kept driving. We don't know if he converts. We don't know if he gets fouled. We don't know if it's a three point play. We don't know if he misses. Who knows? We don't know what if he had anything left in his legs at that point after playing every second of the game. The three given the way Jimmy was shooting in that series is justifiable. Overall, for Jimmy Butler's career, he's not the pull up in transition three guy, right? But in the context of that series, he was shooting pretty well. I think he had just hit one, not that far before that. It's fine. And if he makes it, we're all talking about Jimmy Butler's a stud. He's a hero. He's clutch. And Jimmy does have a, by the way, a history of being clutched too and making big shots and making big plays at big moments..

"That experience has steeled them, prepared them, given a toughness that is unusual for guys who are in their mid 20s just entering their primes and is shown through in this playoff. So I think even though those guys are gone, some of what they brought sort of lives on today with this team. I'll end with my pick which I haven't yet made. And this is not a final pick. I'm gonna watch a little more film. I'm gonna talk to some more people. I'm gonna digest some more information, but right now I am leaning warriors in 7. I've picked the Celtics in every round of this playoff. I was super high on the warriors before the season. I think the Celtics top to bottom are a little better, but I think the health is trending in opposite directions. I think the warriors are rested and getting healthier and the Celtics just went through a gauntlet and are banged up a little bit. The knuckleball affecting games one and two scares me from Boston's perspective and the potential home court in game 7 although Boston just wins on the road all the time. And the warriors are awesome. So I'm leaning a week ago or two weeks ago I had Boston winning the title. I was gonna pick Boston every round of the playoffs. Right now I'm leaning warriors in 7, but I'm expecting and hoping to get a great series. If this somehow doesn't reach 6, either way, I will be dumbfounded. I'm hoping for 7 baby. "I'll be watching. Okay, I'm gonna say does that break mean break from the WBA finals? No, no, no. I will be able to watch the finals and enjoy the finals. Like, the game one I was going, oh, I miss them. I want to be there, but then I was like, I have a whole move to navigate. So this actually works out. We wanted you there. But yes, where can WNBA fans follow you after the season's over? All right, so I will be a part of the pre and postgame show with the New York Knicks MSG networks. I'm joining the ESPN NBA family. So we have different roles budding there. And then, you know, I still be doing around the horns debatable SportsCenter. It's funny you mentioned a SportsCenter thing because that may be the only caveat in which I'll do TV from my home over my little break. Because it's the finals. And if they need an analyst to jump in and back the finals, I'm gonna wake up and do that. And my mandate, I've told coach practice a bunch because we would finish a late game and semifinals and maybe the 7 a.m. show would want me. And it's a tough turnaround, but as a little girl having fallen in love with the WNBA and had this inkling of wanting to talk about sports on television, I see myself sitting in front of the TV saying, why aren't they talking about the WNBA? Semis, or now the finalists. And so I wanted to be there for myself. And so Renee coach and I just had a great moment joking about that. But I mean that, sincerely, the same way I get to show up for the NBA Finals, let's go. This is the WBA final. Let's talk about it. Well, you guys were fantastic in the studio. We had so much fun watching you. And thank you for carrying it to and for growing the sport and yeah, you're stuck with us now. So all right. So now let's get into the WNBA finals game number one. And I'll start with you with this Monica. What was the biggest surprise for you of game one? Obviously, Chicago one 91 77. But what surprised you about the game? I don't know that I was surprised, honestly, trying. It's so great to go back up and step game 5 ASUS Phoenix, right? We all agree. If aces handle their business, they'll be straight if they make it close, you give in Diana Rossi like. And that's exactly how it went down. Now, we had a Twitter spaces before game one. And, you know, you rattle off the things that feelings have been through. And I felt like at some point, it was going to catch up to them. The injuries, the numbers, the quick turnaround. And Candace Parker to me has Chicago locked in in a way that I think we thought. They would be when we heard about her going to Chicago, but had not seen through their glorious roller coaster of a regular season. So I can't there wasn't. I wasn't really surprised, honestly. Well, you're absolutely right in that Phoenix had gone through a lot, right? And I feel like we had been saying all along that we weren't sure if Phoenix had enough death because when you look at their big three, they've maybe got the biggest big three in the league. Now that's without really thinking thinking, but off the top of my head, I mean, I'm like, you know, EDD was healthy, maybe we're going to be having a different conversation. You know, Seattle does have jewelry, suburb and brianne Stewart, but I mean, looking at what just took place in the Olympics, Diana being named the goat Britney minor dominating the world. You know, Skyler digs has had a great season. They may have the best big three. But you know you're gonna need more support. And as time goes on. And the injury to key a nurse in just their overall roster makeup, they don't have as much depth as Chicago, quite frankly. I mean, when you can bring Stephanie dulson off the bench, diamond to shield off of the bench like you're starting 5 all score in double figures in that first game. There are a lot of things that caught up with Phoenix. In addition to the fatigue of having to play Friday and all that. But barring any excuses, did you feel like Chicago's defense on Brittany griner was what was disrupting her or do you feel like Brittany got in her own way? 'cause that's probably my biggest mystery or my biggest surprise in game one that Brittany was not more effective. Now, she did have 20 points. But we didn't see that same monster in Brittany grinder that we saw against Vegas. China is so crazy because listen, this is a space where we live and celebrate women's basketball, but we're having a constructive conversation. It is the BG dominant BG versus present BG is while the stats may not always bear it out. If you're watching, that is night and day and even going into Vegas, to me, if she was game 5 BG throughout the entire series, I'm like big decision. But we just don't get that consistently enough. And so it's hard for me to say which of the two it is because that is that lesser level of dominance from BG doesn't surprise me because I don't bank on that every day. I've been on her flirting with a double double. I bank on her being on the floor if she's healthy, but being dominant, like that is very much to me, it's almost a byproduct of the other two and the other two of that big three playing well and the role players playing well, 'cause I think when she's picking apart screens and her teammates are hitting those shots, then she's energized. And so now she knows that the defense has to account for my team's ability to knock down shots. And now I'm really going to work in this paint. And so Chicago's defensive intensity has been renewed throughout the series. And so I would give them credit credit there, but again, I can only imagine what it is to be 6 8 and be that be able to be that physical dominant. I've never had to play that position. But that is always sort of my question. Which version of BG is going to absolutely show up? Because while Candace may have drawn that assignment or even as ray draws that assignment to a degree, if she's locked in all the way, like that's a tough day at the office for either one of them. And you're not going to split, I'll stop her. Yeah, like no one should be able to guard her from what we've seen. And I think she's been more on in these playoffs and she's been off. Like, I can only remember maybe one other game where I felt like she wasn't locked in. And I believe that it's because teen started playing her in that one on one exclusive coverage. Like, that to me, once teeth started making that.

"Now she's got a really good chance tomorrow against as corny because corner of course doesn't have that huge weapon that can disrupt the pace of stood italina that can force her to get a little bit error. Happy and and cronyn played some physical tennis over these past couple of days. Not that fiddling didn't in her three-set win over. Rebecca peterson but look for alina. Civita lena she wins this title that's nine titles in nine seasons intense nine years in ten nine of ten years third as leave it all in west off with a w t tour. Title that ridiculous consistency. I'm not like saying she's a hall of famer yet. But let's be clear. Fiddling is still twenty. Seven years old irks us. Turns twenty-seven on september twelfth. She's got a good five years left in her of her prime and there's no reason with the openness of the wti to her. she gets hot. She gets his fit in for the right two weeks. Say it's australia states. May maybe even a wimbledon given the lack of sample size on grass courts for so many of these young players. They're is still a window first. Fiddling it's i would say it's even more open than the caroliina plus window now course. Plus cobas elite has been better than fiddling as elite throughout the course of their careers. Thus far but i still think the windows a little bit open for both of them so this is a good run for fiddling. I'm not saying she's going to win new york but this is a much needed. Confidence booster for her heading into new york. Of course now in the final she is going to take. Oh and by the way alina not fifteen in three in her career in w tate tour level finals. that's clutch. It's pretty damn clutch. "He tells you to take to be arms and call in the morning. What a disgusting display. What this gusting outing. And yes for those. That don't know talk about the nba finals game four. But if you thought. I was talking about the phoenix suns own. No i am talking about the referees. Oh my gosh down the stretch. Oh my so. I'm going to say the star cast and i mean this in the greatest way possible man the bucks. They really stepped it up. They really locked down. The sun men debts game saving block from john man. That's a final moment for sure. Chris middleton had a great game drew holiday defended the ball berry berry. Well they put pressure all over dat back court score forty two points but no one else got twenty. No one else did. Brooke new has definitely showed up. Yeah he didn't make three but he was in the block. Did i mention the honest game saving block. I don't know if you know this. But that's all you're hearing about two day. I took the time prior to recording. Because i wanted to find out if any analysts any swertz writer any youtubers Wanted to take an objective approach to his game. Because that's what we do here. We like to take an objective approach. First of all doc. I'm sorry you were way off. I mean also had you know the sun's winning it but a he'll really confident So you know little bit dot cloud there for you but people thought about how the bucks'll was got robbed and how you know. This is an finals defining game if this is a files defining fighting game. There's something wrong here folks. This is a problem. I felt like i felt like the angel. Cerdan was watching down on us last night. With the way these non calls and tickets early in the game totally understand that you're trying to establish something but in the game the rough swallowed their wilson's a just blew some really really bad calls on both sides. This is on both sides so those who thought that the bucks almost got robbed. I can understand but the sun got robbed this well. The son got route themselves. I hope the league look at the two minute report especially because i didn't see on. Nba dot com yet. And i don't know people are going to be able to see it really going be honest about it. Take a chance. Take a moment out of your time and look at the last five minutes of the game. Just watch the last five minutes a game. Then you'll see what i'm talking about. I want you to trust your eyes rather than your years and look at it for yourself for those. That are pure aficionados. You'll see exactly what i'm talking about the on the southern side I mean honestly this was a game they could have won This was a grind Type of game. Chris paul he played awfully. "Makes some decisions. Where you scratch your head. He had that side of the backboard jumper in game. Two rarely there's eighteen on the shot clock why are you taking a fading baseline jumper. But he's big any strong and he is a great believer driver and they just can't let opportunities like that pass. The sons are too good. Let's talk a little bit more about on. It's just the here's the overarching number regular season. Nineteen ball screens one hundred possessions. This is my second spectrum playoffs thirty and it's escalating every round. This is a reinvention of him. I another. i'd like to propose a rule of mr artist. So you ready sure. Finals discourse rule no and no finals. Mvp discussion allowed until one team has three wins. Like i'm seeing all this. Who's the finals. mvp right. I was the youngest. Is it chris. Paul nick right. I love nick. Right on fox. Sports i love is such a great guy. He's talking today about if you on his averages forty for the rest of the series and paul averages eighteen for the series. Even if the bucks lose. We've gotta give the kelly. Just see the series. Can we just see. We're three games of the series. It's two one can just watch the series instead of debating this award preemptively. and so. that's my rule. Would you would you sign. Would you sign my petition for no finals. Mvp discussion until one team has three wins. Yes wire we reviewing restaurants half with the appetizer. Sleek why reviewing album l. off the first two tracks. I'm with you. I sign with with bold ink. The way steve. Kerr wants to sign the you're going to wear casual they're On the sidelines. I will sign with big john. Hancock what do you expect the sons to do to counter jaanus in game four. Because you know. I've seen some some people thinking while they put crowd or more on him in game three in part because of aden's foul trouble or to protect from foul trouble at the beginning and crowder obviously guarded jonassen. The heat series last season got pretty comfortable right now against jae crowder. Jays gotten him a couple times a couple of push-ups offensive fouls. you know. Maybe you show more help at him and enforce the itunes and the lopez and the tucker's beach. You might see that i still have fun phoenix. I think i'm still starting aiding starting eight on him and seeing if i can get through the first five minutes without a foul is still our best answer maybe by far. What do you expect to see. The proof is in the pudding right like like. He played twenty four minutes because of foul trouble. He's still their best option. By the way there are no great options. I'm with you. they're to have to you. Know what do you do. You bring a third guy at the nail in the young. And as you said it's gonna require and it's going to require sort of the more marginal shooters require portis. Who actually is not a marginal three point shooter though. He has been in the playoffs. A little bit. I'm glad i'm glad you brought up. Puertas i wanna talk about portas because you know you can see. I think portis has become a massively important player in this series. Because it's clear but does not trust sprint. Ford's anymore defensively. Just keep he's decided. Jeff teague we jeff teague over you which to be a little inexplicable but i think that also goes to the fact that the bucks are a little light on playmaking and i think that's what bud is may be searching for with teak and he's made shots and if forbes is not gonna play portis has to play because they just need shooting they need another shooter on the floor for the playoffs jaanus and portis together. The bucks are plus forty four and one hundred and thirty two minutes plus sixteen in twenty three minutes for this series. Almost all of those minutes come with lopez on the bench that look seems to be working for them and you can see but in his rotation decisions thinking. Okay are small lineup. scott coniston tucker jaanus. It's just not enough shooting lopez. Just i mean lopez was settled in. Like just okay. No one is terrified of brook. Lopez's shooting threes even from the corners and searching. I'm glad you brought up portis. And i wanted to talk about that more because i think he's emerged as an important player in this series especially because he's playing against phoenix non. Starting lineups in those lineups have been a hit or miss. Let's say right. He's funny. Because i think you know bucks. Staff can have wrestled with the angels on portis because he can be a defensive liability. And frankly i saw a couple instances especially as a cpa and the eytan pick and roll where he is. You don't give us funny after the game in his press conference Podium game reports Where it he made sure not to state that. He is a defensive player. You can obviously kind of the glares from the rest of the bucks like yeah 'cause he was out of the rotation for it one of the earlier rounds it just like they don't entirely trust him to but yup but in the in the who do you trust list sweepstakes Forbes's is winning the battle. he's a way to split the difference defensively at his is a way to go small not instill maintain your advantage. I think all the boards. We had eight rebounds eighteen minutes the other night and you know again. He's he's the different splitter. Because if if you're not gonna drop lopez you know you still have the other starting foreign content like you know. They're still some and again. He's not really a rim protector either. But they're still showing size. I mean way back going back to the john hammond days like size was always something is team valued. You know we will. We will out link few We will out limb you. And i i think or is a nice way to kind of split the difference and as you said also a little more perimeter shooting which just a decongested especially for jaanus thinking about on your car you want an offer and you want it fast well then race over carmax dot com to get a bona fide offer.

"And now the low has welcome to the low post podcast. Nba finals intermission edition. We have two days off between games. Three and four and so. I thought it'd be a nice time to take the temperature of the nba finals with the one. And only kevin arnovitz live on site from milwaukee wisconsin one of my favorite cities visit. I'm jealous that you're there. Mr arto you i am well. It is a nice summer city midwest in the summer. You can't beat it. I mean chicago for the draft combine. It was like lollapalooza there. Every single place was packed. It was it was absolutely on fire. The pandemic was one hundred percent over which is a little bit frightening and a little bit disconcerting. And a little bit exciting. All at once. So mr arnovitz. We have a series do we not. We have ourselves series as they say. Here's where we stand after game. Three everyone is is crapping on this series because the three games have been double digit games. Not the most exciting games. I actually i feel like we are primed for a classic. I maybe i'm just trying to wish it into existence. Lavar ball it into existence but through three games. Yeah they've all been double digits. But i feel like tactically. This is a really interesting series and it. The sons took a two old lead. The bucks is expected they would respond to. So here's where we are. The scoring margin for the series is plus three four phoenix. Here's how even it is..

"Cautious. I know they feel like maybe. This is a unique opportunity. You look at the landscape of the eastern conference all the injuries that things had to break their way for them to get here but this shouldn't be viewed as it janas. Only twenty six years old hasn't even entered his prime yet. He's under contract through twenty twenty six. I'm that extension. Made everybody happy. Reward him for awarding you by treating him with the utmost care. I wouldn't be that desperate to win it all right now. you wouldn't. Would you play him tonight. He has even practice yet. Maybe if he goes through shoot around maybe if he can work out maybe you use the practice court and he can get some time with his teammates. He hasn't even played with his teammates and week. Let alone game forgot how to play basketball. He's just recovering from a need jury page. I'll bring you in here. would you play on tonight. Say he's played with these guys. It's not like he just shows up. He's a stranger from out of town. No i would play my willis reed him in the game. I'd put him in for the first five six minutes. See how he's tested on the court whether or not you can proceed with him. But i think it would be the most no lift to the box. The players knowing that he's willing to go out there and try it. I mean you're going to what saving for next year and hopefully you get back to the final snow. Try it right now. Do the most you possibly can to get him in shape to play for them. And i think you don't wait for the shoot around you. Don't wait for before the game. You just put him out there on the court because he knows exactly how to play with all these guys i think. Lopez in middleton and holiday would welcome him being on decline. There's a couple of things at play here. Right clinton yates. The injury looked terrible. But now we know that he has no tears and it's that he's questionable today. Do you get them back today. For game one. Do you wait till game. Three or game. Four game five or do you just say you know what we could be here again in the future other seasons. Let's sit them out for the entire postseason clinton if he wants to play game one you let him play game one and you gauge the rest of the series upon that. I just think that if you enter a series of the guy like honest who so important to the rest of your team and you just don't have him you're almost bearing yourself off the rip loose. I don't necessarily know this team should have been favored before y- honest was questionable. And now that he's not play. I don't think that you can sort of into this from a competition standpoint and give yourself a chance. I definitely think you playing if he has the ability to because he is a difference maker asked vegas do today jaanus upgraded to questionable. Emily kaplan's you play him tonight. In game one. Here's how i plan. I tell every single guy take as long as janas does at the free throw line and then he'll be there for game two. That's as easy as that jokes. None of them were jokes. Everybody okay the kita this series though. Is chris middleton jrue holiday because they were absolutely fantastic being more aggressive offensively when he was out the key is okay if they do play how can. They maintain that or maintain that when they have the floor. General mcchord and. I'm not sure how that plays out. So i really think. There's a lot of question marks for the milwaukee bucks. Don't talk to me about this. From the phoenix suns perspective as they go to their first. Nba finals in twenty five years. Plus and their first playoff match ten years. We said that already. What an amazing run. They've been on and the first finals for chris paul. Of course he has a chance to disprove one of my theories and that you can't win a if a player around my height six feet is your best player chris. Paul control games. Can he exert his will on a series. And that's the big question we. I think we've only seen a handful of players really under six six when finals. Mvp he's the favourite twin finals. Mvp can he put off and control things on both ends of the court exert his will in this series. You know he's going to be the most desperate to win this and he's going to basically i think he's going to basically transmit his playoff pain throughout all these young teammates. They haven't suffered playoff pain. He suffered plenty of it. I think he's not going to allow them to to have any sort of it from phoenix's perspective the keys to victory. It never ceases to amaze me how beginning these conversations about the suns and devon booker's name is not front and center. the guy's got seven thirty point games. Playoffs got to forty burgers issue over thirty five nearly thirty five percent from the three it over forty percent from the floor. If he's cookie the bucks don't have a chance. I mean that dude is what makes this team go. I know paul is the leader but if book or fills it up. I don't think he's looking at anything than maybe. So it's going to rise because eight. And he's shooting seventy one percent which has never happened in the shot clock era. Going back to bob cousy. Who was a six footer j. And he'd lead to a team to a lot of championships with bill russell. I just think today we talk about jaanus. But aidan is played against the best centers in the league when they haven't been heard and he's he's done more than any of them during the playoffs. I he's going to be just outstanding key in this year leaning phoenix. It sounds like what he paid. Clinton did more could be lucky to get to a fifth game at thank you what he believe. Janas can't play a one hundred percent and devon booker's cooking like he's been cooking all playoffs. Yeah this is going to milwaukee sorry because of the uncertainty. Give me feed. Emily kaplan phoenix's way to really get excited for the series you know what l. s. u. This because you've covered the game long than l. All of us combine here. This matchup howard beck called mind boggling that we've got here because it awesome that we got here. Is your mind boggled more than usual or do you think this is awesome series. Yes i do talk about teams that have been in the nba finals for decades. I think this is such a positive for the nba. People who say well it's not new yorker la but here's what it is it's it's a small mid market teams that are there and reached the finals that shows you. You don't have to go through a process in philadelphia to actually get to the head. Goes through quite a process off season. With all the attrition phoenix knoller mid market. I think we all agree. It's an enormous city. The top ten in markets in the country. But it's a batch that we've never seen before an nba finals. History gotta enjoy that part. It we'll move on last.

Come on. it's the championship you've got to watch. That's what we've got certainly tonight with that in mind. We've got a lot of first timers here in the nba finals guys. We've got beat a team where no one has even been in a finals. Other than jae crowder who played six games last year with the heat after that these are all newbies. New faces as you you know. We're we're used to the stars always being in. This people have talked about that. Lebron james is in it. Every year or steph curry's in it every year or it's kobe or tim. Duncan this is a this is going to be some new faces for the first time in a while that we're seeing but it doesn't mean their faces that we don't know chris paul being one of them as a guy who is making his finals debut after one hundred twenty three playoff starts. It's the most in nba history. Karl malone and john stockton. we're behind him. As they had their back to back. Appearances against michael jordan. Those bulls didn't work out for them. We'll see if it works out for chris. Paul with that in mind x. factor in this finals. Don't don't monica. Is it chris paul. Not of course got a little. I don't under- right. I do not understand how. Chris can be considered an ex actor. I talked to c. J. paul corresponds brother and he said that. Thank god that they finished at nuggets series in four games. He said kris found out he code after game for the next day and so who knows how much of that the rest of the series missed right right. And i could've you know certainly affected what happened against denver who they swept him so it wasn't an issue against enough. He missed two games but it like think about if the sons were like the bucks and they had to begin their next series three three days later and then had to play three games in six days. Chris would have missed maybe five games so things have gone love with the sons. This fin this run. They've also played great. We'll see if they continue all right. "If you're honest. isn't there another guy. Thinks interesting is an and you ramona. You know this. Could you spend time at staples rope lopez in the post. I mean i. I i love him in the post and i think you need somebody that's gonna make eight and fatigues make make eight work make eight and fouled trouble looming he. He's kind of like a think lopez a hidden key. You know. he's a veteran guy. Yup you want that championship Is getting towards the end of his career. He savvy I i really think he could be an x. Factor in this series intel. If they can figure out he could be aggressive against atan a younger player. Still still trying to figure things out that that might might help the books some in a big way. Bryant went when we had brook lopez's in la okay. And he was at the lakers. Do you remember. He was kind of throw into that trade. The diangelo russel trade. I don't wanna say his career was like in jeopardy but he was like in a low point. And i remember rob pelinka from the lakers kept going on and on about roque lopez like this was for hand. He was a heated at trade. And you know and other people just kinda saw like they may put them in there to make salaries match something. Right and one of the better trades i would say the weights shook out and all the other ramifications and laker history and brooke was raised for them. He was like he was their number one option that year his team. They've ever know like he was really good for them. That was like sort of resurrection year and had a couple of We forget like brute. Lopez has an all-star level. Talent like that guy can play and you kinda they got him real cheap after that you know after stint in la but but the people have believed in brook lopez all along throughout his career because he has a lot of talent. We just haven't seen it all the time. Like sometimes it kind of comes and goes but it's it's not you know for lack of effort. It's not for lack of trying. He's just and i will speak for stanford man because i am a stamford girl. Okay and i. And i understand. We used to have something called paralysis by analysis. Okay it is a comment affliction among stanford athletes. Who where you just kind of over think things. And and you're you get a little tied up in it and it's it's it's kind of got him drought a career here and there but it's is not something he has not. He can overcome it. He because he does all the time. And if it's just something that's kind of always there. Sometimes it gets his head a little bit but i. I've always debate man. I just in in you get somebody like that on the stage like this boy this. This is his time to show out great for them. Those last couple of games on this well just cracked but a little bit earlier and buds taken out of incoming for you know the way. He's coached the offense. But he has been brook lopez's biggest supporter. Yeah in an era where teams on him on defense and they have to sometimes put him in drop coverage and sacrifice looking for a little bit foolish. I mean bud believes in protecting the paint more than he does defying the three pointer. Although i will point out these guys are the number one and number two teams in the playoffs and defending the corner. Three just a vital shot and not only it but only young allowing the fewest number events since you brought up the corner three. I'm going to give you a losing. We're going into game one here and i want to. This is a matchup. I will be watching okay. P j. tucker and devon booker. i don't know the. pj's going to guard him. But i know that when debbie started out in the league. Pj was one of his nets. And you know earl. Watson was their coats. I just you know he. He's he there's a lot of exxon people. Ryan mcdonagh earl watson who. They're sitting back looking looking pretty good right now. In terms of the talent they drafted developed. Okay and earl watson used to let p tucker guard devon booker in practice and he would never call foul the idea of being. We're gonna let. Pj go at book and just do pj things. And it's going to be iron sharpening iron. And and i don't know the pj pj has defended kevin durant in these playoffs. Like imagine going from durant devon booker. Let's an amazing skill. Set that you can do both. But i wouldn't be surprised book a little bit. It was amazing. It was amazing. Pj tucker ward devon booker Signature shoes practice. That's awesome it's awesome. I mean that is a fun. Little bit of sons history. That i that. We're gonna see how play play out these finals but major holiday. I guess you could see a lot of drill on on devon. But i sorta think drew will be on. Chris allies Pj on the switches be on devon or starting also situation. Yeah but but that's fun. One devon booker are pretty. I've been very impressed with his mental strength in these playoffs is obviously incredibly gifted. And he's a hard. He's a very hard worker but his mental strength for his first playoff run has really impressed me. But i it's interesting. That tucker did that today. i have no. I have no idea what he's trying to do. I mean look. I don't eat any claim that he had no idea what you know. Way out right. He dies every she'll for our disbrow. No idea what i have. No no the biggest shoe collector in the nba of the exactly his client where those shoes and when he when he was on the flight home he thinking about where he's going to go get him back. It might be the reason why they flew home like us. I'm still i'm also by. They didn't pack to go to phoenix. And just go straight the phoenix. Like what was the point of. I know we wanna milwaukee juju though right like it's a little bit of like you're going to game six. Let's close it out but you kind of have to realize you might. I mean if they would lost come. Home for you also got more time in phoenix. But now i know that pat riley like the old pack one. Suit thing like yeah. Yeah you could have said you know. Boys were packing for phoenix. Because we're going to go take care of business in atlanta. It's one of those things that you don't say until after you win. That's the way we packed for a week. But think about it just from our standards guy man tomorrow. I got a flat of milwaukee and then the next day i got a flat a phoenix from. That's a lot. Yeah just confusing to me. Why i mean these are younger. Guys and yeah. They're.

"I do think that You know both of these teams. I think a couple of players of clayton. The finals jae crowder But like i know nobody ought either one. Nobody's got a ring six. Pm pacific letter sixty. I'm sorry thank you. I was just about getting a little nervous there well. I'm trying my first finals. Game in vegas is going to be sunday. That's a five o'clock pacific to say this. No this is the thing you know about. My friend march ears every town. He is the mayor. Kay he knows everywhere to go in every town like every new. If i haven't been to a place marker shutout. His restaurant list runs ten deep and every town. I'll be i love it. I'll be a comfortable. You'll be your sweet. I'll be in a comfortable setting. I will say this one. Nba player a very major star. Once told me that You know there's there's a vegas for everybody and then there's vegas for us. It's a totally different. Exactly what they mean. You know separate entrances. Let's put it that way. Let's yeah nba players. By the way it's first superstars to on beers stayed quiet. So i think spears's may be entered into those hallways once or twice but i have a whole bunch of failed failed. Stakeouts that i'm done in vegas because i didn't have access to the right entrances. I would be waiting in the lobby. I i liked that story from It's it's it's really kind of funny now because beverley. But i love the story from two thousand the summer of two thousand nineteen in the clippers. The i don't. I don't know if i was at the night of the earthquake. Oh yeah okay. Earthquake continue says the guy from the bear knock on wood where they got brad georgian kawai the gun the same night and i can't remember the name of the italian so some really was going on so all of the nba was full. Pietro's maybe wanna pietro's k. spirits. You know which italian restaurant was. They have a bunch of private rooms and now is one of the italian restaurants in one of the hotels and they have a whole hallway of private dining rooms and there was all these different parts of the nba. Players in beverley was going down the line. Talking smack lebron was up there. And paul georgia's the hair and Soap lebron was there with some lakers and paul Paul george was there and beverly Ran up and down talking smack in and out of the private rooms Because the kuwata's on brand that's on brand gutters on. That's part of the secret. Vegas that Yeah i won't be the secret vegas. I'll just be in the shadow finals. It's all i'm gonna say People with private rooms and he got his own. There's there's a roster of our teammates you're going to be there. It's almond say and You know while you guys are working. We're going to be you know. I mean i'm going to be working. Don't get me wrong. i mean team. Say you're hanging out with the gambling guy you know i'm not saying i'm just saying you know i'm not. I'm not pretending to have any special access. I'm just saying i've got this. Okay flirt sprint. I don't stay on the strip all right. I don't stay on the strip. And i don't usually there anymore. I am to open at so you know. I think it's important for phoenix to you. Know obviously The clippers had some momentum coming off of the utah series. Winning the two wins without kawhi and then the sons came out in game. One of that series granted. It was a tough turnaround and that turnaround was a factor in that series. Where the where the head to win on saturday night in salt lake and then play on sunday afternoon. Phoenix but booker comes out and has a forty point. Triple double chris. Paul is not in that game. That was a huge win for the sons to establish themselves in that series. So here are the bucks coming off of two games where they've played pretty well one of the things that's happened. These last two games as jrue holiday has been unlocked a little bit offensively and it's you know mike. Holders taken some fire for the way operates as offense and seeing how well holiday plays without jaanus is a little maddening. In you say how come. He doesn't play this way more often. How come bobby. You can't get more out of bobby portis because it's not like i know. Janos tends to stop the ball. But it doesn't mean that you have to play that way and so whatever the point is they've played pretty well the last two games really put their foot down on atlanta to win game six in atlanta. So i think it's going to be important for the sons. I know that their favorites in game one of their favorites the series. I think i saw today there minus one eighty. That's pretty heavy favorites. And you know if if the bookmakers feel that jaanus is either not gonna play majority of the series or when he comes back we'll be limited which is a reasonable guess with that injury I think spears The sons getting game one to stop the bucks. Momentum could also be pretty important. yeah. No i'm i'm with you. They got they got to win. Game more Especially.

"Is a club it's fun it's all renovations Are such where it's it's it's for a club atmosphere and It is i money williams. Toby this year yeah okay. He said he thought it was allowed us place in the offs out as he had ever heard it. There's a there's an oracle to this place right now. Well it's an old. It's one of the old. I know it's been renovated but what's one of the oldest buildings now in the league and so it's designed i mean you know the square footage of it is smaller than your normal mb arena. It's more compact than your normal mba arena and therefore it has a better chance to create noise but again you know you're in the finals. Every team be fired up. A part of it is these fans have experienced this in a decade. They've just been in this super-charged fame broadening nortel's they're gonna here in arena. Any hanis once in the arena. They have they have the hub. what what what. He calls his botchy. But what do you call the grill. Like where everybody sits around will know. They cook it. It cooked you're like you're at the restaurant they give it to you the global. Oh okay i see. But i was like benny. Wow that's a pre cova. Benny honner was a A big time. Nda place players like to go cheesecake. Factory sang chang's deserting yourself saying that could be right about that Houston's by we. Am i wrong the other other places now spares you know they go to places that we can't get in well they go to places we can't get in in some cities or in a bubble. Well that's true but Lot of cities you know There's one city that. I won't name where i ran into where i've rented a players at olive garden. I can guess samuel. Oh man you call it right off the bat. I wouldn't yeah wouldn't that wouldn't have been did you. Forget the famous episodes in cleveland. Oh yeah xl for sure. Did you ever go there now. I don't think i did. I was the i if you wanted to see anybody from the cavs after a game you go to. Oh well he he kept it open late for them and he you know but yeah but you know yes. I sorry to say and by the way. It's been a long time since. I've been to that olive garden but i did see players eating in olive garden in salt lake city. I don't mean to be offensive. I'm from cleveland folks. I'm not from paris. i'm not throwing stones. I'm just saying what are you going to say. I saw half murga street. Grill the place in in salt lake and then go to park city. Yeah parks all right. So here's the thing. When these teams play in the regular season they played twice both times. the game was a one point game and both times. That difference was made By devon booker free throws and so as you look at this series This is a stat that i just find unbelievable. I've mentioned on the pod last week. The sons have won. Twelve consecutive games decided by five points or less well and it's going to play in the regular season. They won by one now. One of them was far back. In fact tori was playing for bucks. The one was late in the season. I think youngest might have missed one of the games chris. Paul swabians anyway So the close games. And here's the thing. I want you researched Why the suns are so good close games. I mentioned this last week. A little bit but the real answer i came up with was two reasons number one chris. Paul doesn't turn the ball over like ever. You get zero turnovers unless name. That's amazing race. He's got an almost he's got almost a six to one Assist to turnover ratio in the playoffs. A three to one is considered very good Six he's he's like five point seven to one so it's almost six to one. The other reason is the other thing is they. Are the number one playoff free. Throw shooting team in history. Who's made at least who's hit attempt at least two hundred fifty. Don't be no not a team to play three games. You know I think it's like Eighty seven percent or somebody that these two okay eighty six percent so and we know that milwaukee is free throw shooting especially with the honest is suspect at best says the worst free throw shooter still in the series so something to keep an eye on here you know and again. I don't know what will happen with the honest. I have no idea when he will be in there but you know. I think we're going to see who low scoring at least by kern mba standards and if the game is close. I i think if favors phoenix the other thing. I'll say the bucks on this isn't going to surprise anybody who's watched him in all the bucks. Your number one in the postseason in in in scoring in the paint and they shoot almost seventy percent In the restricted area. I mean that is all y- but also a brook lopez shoots like sixty has been shooting sixty three percent in their Bobby portis shoots a row. Heist cheryl high percentage in there So that's their game. Their game is score in the paint In fact i've it frustrates me when they don't shoot more in the pay but guess who. The number one defensive team in guarding the restricted area is phoenix suns. Feed and that is because the andre. The other thing is the bucks live on second. Chance points I don't think they were number one. But the average fifteen second chance points a game in the In i i was in the last series are just total I'm getting somebody stats from john. Shuman from mba dot com. Who is just you should read everything he writes. I mean it's very numbers heavy but He's one of the best at it. so what i would look for is You know de'andre eight and to be a very big important factor in this series because their their defense at the rim and their rebounding is You know no walkie needs those baskets at the rim and they need those second chance points. And that's where eight and comes in. So you know i've I've sort of felt like de'andre eight and has been the bellwether. Is that all the term bellwether we can. I don't know where it comes from. But i think people know that term. Don't you of spears. i don't know what i'm saying. Is we know the history of bellwether. Am i talking about. Benny hana's still well. Essentially bellwether means if one is a leading indicator tracks right like so essentially if it's typically used when we're talking about elections or something there's like missouri used to be bellwether whatever direction missouri goes. That's the direction that the election is probably gonna go right. Yeah so So bellwether sent. It probably has to do something with the weather term to be highest. I would say ring the bell when the tornado. And i don't know a really really really important player in how he plays and i'm not saying he's got average. He's had eleven double doubles in the. Yeah the sixteen games. They've played but it's not. I got i got the background. You ready okay. it's a. It's a middle english term.

"Hey, I have a friend that's been selling me on Devin Booker for, like, the past two years. He sent me clips all the time. My Instagram. Yeah. And he dead So send me clips Zach LaVine and I kind of started catering more to the vein this year but then of course with book and making the playoffs. He that's all he shows me now, but I still personally feel like Zach LaVine is still highly underrated. Considering our fellow. His skill-set is very similar to a different book of gives you. Yeah. Well, you know, here's a difference off exactly the answer of this year was, was, was better. Let me see. Yeah, I mean, it was really much better. Especially from an efficiency standpoint offensively. So what separates him now? What separates him now. So I just got text is is the defense and I wouldn't have said that Booker was any better than Levine? Although the dean is really right, he really struggles. He passively a lot of the time but after what I've seen in the playoffs Booker really has been giving out and being affected on the defensive end. We've not really ever seen that from the Lovin and that's probably what's going to separate, but that's a good call. Back trying to pick between those two is really tough. I would probably go with Levina authentically and I'd have to say, Booker has been better defensively? Is that a better team? So that that makes a difference as well. So I don't know, man. That's a really, really tough call. That's really close. If you want a value offense, more than you got to choose the beam. Hot take. I guess. I don't know what else. What's happening? Gabriel, do you want to say something? Well looking at the future of this, Phoenix Suns team. Do you think they can continue to reach Conference Finals or even the NBA Finals game next year's considering, you know, we don't have the this kind of season we had where everybody got injured and so you know it's a good question. Obviously the 63 thing is an interesting thing to keep an eye on because if you start to decline that's going to make it a lot harder for them to do that. And I don't know if campaign you can like, you know, be groomed to fit that role as a starter and then they bring somebody else in and then they could would keep it going. Everyone else though is very young and they can develop and you know, guys like Mikhail bridges are going to get better too. So I think that they're primed to be you know in that mix. Which is kind of like weird because all of a sudden like the Utah Jazz kind of where do they stand in that? They weren't supposed to be that team and all of a sudden you know, Justice artist Sons like leapfrogging them or not. I think maybe they are and so as I'm really high on Phoenix and I'm high on the Hawks. I think the Hawks going to be terrific, they stay healthy. So yeah. So I think that that they can certainly keep it going. The question really is, is the campaign taking off for CP3 eventually. I don't know how smooth that's going to be, if they can make that work then yeah. Then they should be good for several several years. The Nuggets too will probably be up there in the Western Conference the they they probably will. Yeah I wonder if we're going to find out that the that losing Grant ended up being more painful than it than they thought it was going to be. I'm, I'm headed take the safe mean. It's going to be up there cuz I can't see..

"Middle the Bucks aren't in the finals if Middleton play the way he does last night, and even in like game three down in Atlanta when he just took over in the fourth quarter. I mean, listen, by the way, the books that were they are without him even with the heavy on his healthy. Like you know what I mean? Like you need not in any way like that was that he's been the linchpin and I've been talking about him for years now. How he is like the the go-to guy for pick-and-roll, you know, he he ends up playing like this star role in their offense a lot month. Be honest does. And that's sort of a function of be honest has inability to shoot because it's like from deep and not wanting should any mid-range shots. So it's it's a lucky thing that they now lucky. It was a great development, they got him and he developed into this guy but he he is as vital as the honest is. And you know what? Like, they could probably be competitive without be honest. I don't know if they're going to. I only, they're going to beat the Suns. Be honest, can't play. All I can tell you is that it's a miracle, that Yiannis didn't are multiple ligaments in that inch with an injury. It was also strange to me that he's standing, you saw them standing up a lot in that. Game on that knee, I only, I can only imagine it must hurt when it's bent, right? And when you're sitting and it's been Ninety Degrees that, that must be where it takes more than when you Santa Claus. But even, even if he had like her elbow or something, he would have been standing the entire game. There's, there's nothing you could do to like Jonas is full Full Tilt, everything for sure for sure dead. Before game five, before game five in Milwaukee PJ Tucker. Had gone to a bar in a bar and the bartender had said that PJ told him that if if the Bucks had gone to a game seven in the final East Yiannis would have played so you can take that with a huge grain of salt..

"Of shots takes obviously very different game than the honest has just a really cool dynamics. I guess those were the two or three things that stood out to me but Yeah it feels pretty. It's always pretty important to try to avoid going down. Three one but ear in particular just seems massive given that they'll be going back to to Milwaukee and the fact that you know trae is is not hundred percent. Probably won't be for the next game. Big big win for milwaukee to come up big at the end there. Let's talk about janas because you mentioned the middleton closer all and i've been talking about this all season and it's been a gradual transformation and i think the nets matchup exceleron jaanus to his credit has accepted this role in it said. Look if i need to essentially function as a center and screen and dive over and over and yeah i'll get my isos on the left wing over there in my sweet spot and i'll do okay on that but i'm going to be a screen center. Which way sounds the most glamorous part of the nba. you'll get a lab here. There's especially if you're onto a lobby offense rebound. It's not the most glamorous thing if that's the best and the numbers show it. If that's the best for the team i will do that. And it's marked a sort of evolution in his role to the appropriate place. I think and jaanus you know. I don't know I the lack of jumper the free throws and by the way. I really enjoyed the crowd counting on the free throws and i see well. They're starting to count too early. It only starts. Just let them have fun. He's violating the rule. Let them have fun. Let them enforce a rule at the nba has chosen not to enforce. Of course the nba gets mad at the fans for doing that. Because it's embarrassing. Everyone involved so we focused on that. We focus on the lack of a jumper every time. He has a crunch time blunder. Which if you're in crunch time all the time could your team is so good. You're playing late in the playoffs. You're going to drop a ball at the end of game. Five against brooklyn every once in a while jaanus for the playoffs. Twenty nine points thirteen rebounds. That's number one among all players five and a half assists shooting sixty two percent on twos. Let's not really talk about the threes of the free throws. He is having a phenomenal playoffs. And we have the singer again. Every time he has a blender the memes combo janas has no bag. Look at the honest lacabeg. Look i don't know. I don't have any bag but i know you got some bag for averaging thirty in the playoffs. I'm sixty two percent shooting from playing great defense across every position. Yes sometimes looks uncomfortable. Guarding trae on switches. And all that. It's trae young. That happens like he's a little slippery star. I think this has been absolutely phenomenal. It's time to stop nitpicking. They nitpicking his. Okay that's part of the deal when you're the best player on the team and you're playing at the highest stages the nitpicking. His part of the deal right people are going to expect a reliable jump shot. People are going to respect this and that the guy is having an incredible playoffs and the bucks are where they were two years ago. Which is to wins for the finals. Can i give you a good honest stature. Jaanus and i took note of it last night. He played the whole third quarter last night. And he's done that a couple of times in these playoffs against nets to and and i decided. Let me see his minutes. Janas cracked forty minutes seven times already in the playoffs. How many times do you think he cracked forty minutes in the playoffs combined in twenty nine thousand nine when they made the conference finals last year. The bubble where they didn't make the conference finals. I'll give you maybe one or two. Because i know that was one of the things i harped on but about constantly Was always confused. Why they would needle stick of it. Thirty five thirty six is if he was going to spontaneously combust if he went thirty eight or thirty nine to okay. One was a double overtime game in toronto. Wow and the second. The second was the season on the lying game. Six loss in toronto. So that's what it took in previous years for jaanus to play forty minutes. Maybe it's bud. Maybe something has changed with his body or his conditioning. I don't know but sometimes he's the third quarter sometimes comes out for like forty five seconds pops right back in. It turns out playing your best player. The two-time ldp all whole ton of minutes is really really helpful. When you're trying to win playoff games. Yeah no i'll go back to the beginning of your your point You know. I i wrote a piece in. It was interesting. 'cause i even kind of frame the piece this way Go back to that game. What was it. I guess it was game. Five of the net series. Where jaanus i think finished with like thirty two or thirty four had all the rebounds normally has but was just getting pillory by everybody because you know at the end of the game. He's either not wanting to shoot or he's taking jumpers. James harden his waving off the help than the double team down in the post in janas tries to shoot a fadeaway instead of going right at injured james harden and you know in that was also game that kevin durant just went off and You know i'd had to go off and had to play the full forty eight or whatever durant had done that game and so it became really easy to kind of pit the two of them against each other and look at all the stuff durant can do one year removed or season removed from the the kelly's in he's by himself and blah blah blah blah blah the. Mvp's and you know. I was critical in that story too. But i think the way we even headline the story that i wrote after that game was that You know there's really nobody like honest and that's both good in. Its if you want to call it bad. In some ways it has its negative. Stu where he honest was not necessarily a guy that is completely comfortable completely used to guarding the other teams best player possession after possession after possession on the wing whether it's durant if he has to try to take trae that's different than somebody like what we saw with the bron- we've seen him do that where he had to guard durant and ten years ago he had to guard. Derrick rose that. Mvp season in lockdown Which seemed hawaiian. Paul george have to do that. So it's different from that standpoint. It's different from the standpoint. The oddest obviously is not someone that you're extremely extremely comfortable with taking jumper after jumper. We're used to seeing. I'm extremely uncomfortable uncomfortable. So it's one of those things where we expect that of to at peasley. Expect that of guys that you know that have the reputation that he has the the sort of accolades he has but he's not a typical in any part of the reason we love what he can do is because he's not typical at all. We call him the free for a reason. So i think you just kind of have to live with some of that we have to remember. He's twenty six. This is an age where most of the biggest names in the league have not won a championship by that point. Got us didn't even start playing the sport until pretty late pointing may do it this year to win the whole thing but it i do generally like when guys are still kind of working through it and they're still contributing a really positive way particularly in a in a well rounded way so different from somebody like simmons to just kind of appreciate the stuff that they can do at think honest. I mean there was the video that i don't know if the bucks put out there to ago when he was a practice kind of laughing delight..

"Eight eight eight seven to nine three seven seven six talking the NBA finals kicks off on Thursday in Toronto as the warriors there for a fifth consecutive time. We'll take on the upstart raptors and joining us now to talk a little bit more about what's to come here in this series, then what could happen here in the summertime is our ESPN front office insider, Bobby marks, Bobby. It's Dan Grassi. Thanks for joining me today. How are you? I'm good, Dan. Good morning. How you doing? Or I'm out west. Good afternoon. It's okay. We, we cater to all that. How surprised are you that Toronto was able to engineer the comeback from two zero down in this conference final and stunned the bucks? Beyond surprise. I mean, I think I picked Milwaukee and five games. And I thought after came to in Milwaukee, where they got blown out I thought that, you know, we could be looking at a short series and I think the biggest surprise is that role players. I didn't know if I could trust the fed lead the surge of Bacchus, even in even Kyle Lowry in a in a series to get them to, to an NBA finals. And you I think did tell the you know the game three certainly the you know, the multiple overtime games kind of gave him a little bit of a little bit of a lift here. But yeah, I am I'm surprised. I thought Milwaukee's bench with kind of overwhelmed this Toronto team. And, but here we are Toronto going to the to the finals for the first time now I know disrespect on Nick nurse and everything that he accomplished his first year at the helm taking over for Dwayne Casey, but Cohen Leonard, was obviously the difference maker for this rafters. Franchise in at the very least when massage Jerry made the move by the this was going to be at minimum of one year flyer. We don't know what the summer is going to have in. Sore for Colli. But do you think the fact that they were able to finally get through the Eastern Conference and get to the final that so far this move has been validated? The trade for Kawai..
