"To keep doing that? Oh my God, it worked again. Ashes and seconds. So all this back and forth obviously pisses off God so that night, the angels of God go to the Assyrian camp of a 185,000 men and when they woke up in the morning, they were all dead. Wait, if they woke up in the morning, how were they dead? Yeah, right, but that's what the book says. It says, and when they arose early in the morning behold, they were all dead corpses. So like, zombies? No, we don't get zombies till later in the book. But we do get zombies? Oh, hell yeah, Tana zombies at the end. Yeah, that's true, but to be fair, at the rate we're going. You Eli will definitely be dead, so. That's like 5 years from now, heath. Said what I said. Yeah, he's got a point. I mean, if you guys want to replacement for him, you'll soon Don still alive, still talking, right here. Yeah, also no. Okay. Well, I'm just saying the offer stands. Right, great. Thank you. And with that rather melancholy timers set, we're going to take a pause, but we'll be back in a month with even more. Bible peace is. Before we put the bow on this week's episode, I wanted to remind you that there's still time to pick up tickets for our live show in Toronto, VIP and platinum packages are sold out, but there are still general admission tickets available which you'll find linked on the show notes, and yes, we're going to be doing the entire show in Canadian. "I see. Kingston act a group of Assyria. Just serve it. What do you want from me? Yeah, we got a letter from hezekiah, the new king of Israel. He wants to know how much money for us to stop kicking his ass. Let's go 300 talents. Yes, sir. That's a good price. It sounds good. Right. But tell him not to trust his God because his God told me that we were supposed to invade him. And like, and like spread that around with his people. Wait, but is that true? No, I'm just fucking with him. I don't know, sir. Do you think that's gonna work? It totally works. Why have you for saying it? Yes. Okay. Everyone calm down. Now, I say calm down. Stop. Whipping your clothes off. We're all gonna go to Isaiah's house. And I'm sure he will work all of this out for us. Should we wear ashes and sackcloth just in case? I mean, yeah, I couldn't hurt. Uh, your highness? Hey, what's up? Yeah, so apparently the juice spoke to their prophet Isaiah's house. And he told him that God told him that they were going to kick our ass. Right. Yeah, okay, well tell them that I just spoke to God and he said he actually changes his mind and now we're going to kick their asses. Did you though? Again, no. I mean, sir, honestly, how many times do you think that's going to work.

"You hear me to the nurse? Come up. Come get murdered. So Joe ash. Yeah, are you excited to be king? No. Smart kid. Okay, so meanwhile, king jehoash is trying to get his. Is that the little kid? I thought he had a different name. He did. That's Joe ask. She's a different king. Well, how many kings of Israel are there? At this point too. How could there be multiple kings of Israel? Well, 'cause all of Israel isn't the same country yet. They're still kind of spread out. Oh, that's why it's called to kings, not to king. No. All right, well, what happened to the kid? He gets murdered by his servants. What? I had huge plans for that character. Hey, what? What's going on? The kid dies. Get the fuck out of here. I don't know what just told me. Okay, are we still doing the son will come out tomorrow? We can't. Kids dead? Seriously. We practiced for so long. I bought a wig and everything. I know you did. I saw. See, this is why you gotta read ahead. I told you, it's all wasted, everything we did. Anyway, jehoash is a good king, but he's having trouble with his high priests. You wanted to see us, your highness? Yes. The people are still worshiping other gods and their high places. I need you to collect some money so we could rebuild God's temple. Door to door, you wanna see that door to door? I don't know. Just ask around, put up a sign. Somebody will fund it. Doesn't that seem like it's gonna destroy our credibility to beg money for God? No, no. It won't. Don't be silly. I feel like it will. All right, fine. I'll just stop paying you guys and we'll put a collection box by the altar. Problem solved. I don't know you, hyenas. Are you sure this isn't gonna be like the biblical basis of a $1 trillion grift that combines taking money from the most vulnerable with using members of a religion as slave labor for the next 4000 years? 5. What are the chances of that? Sure, yeah, it's all good. Yes, probably fine. Don't worry about it. So then there are some more kings who are anointed, so, and then they do evil in the side of the lord, they die as a result. And now it's time for elisha.

"Smooshed in a basket for like, well, while it looks like someone tried to bread a bunch of bowling balls. Gross. Never mind. Just throw them out, I guess. Oh, got it. Anything is. Oh, tell all the followers of ball that we're going to have a big ball party. I thought you wanted that Jewish God. I am. It's a trap. We're going to trick them here and then we're going to kill them all and burn all their statues and turn their template into a toilet. Oh. Oh, you got it, sir. If I may say something, sir. Yeah, yeah, what's up? You. Will you seem kind of like a wrap up character, sir? I seem like a what now? Well, you know, when there's a badly written show or a movie that's got a lot of bad guys to ten minutes before they end, they just hire like Jason Statham, to kill everyone, the movie can end in a bow, it feels like that. Well, it's not like that. Oh, really? Well, what are you going to do when you kill all the followers above? You're going to kill a bunch of people and then die. Oh, no. No, you're going to kill a bunch of people, then die. Yes. And sure enough, after jehu has done killing a bunch of more of ahab's sons, the time comes for him to die. Oh, lord. Now that I'm old and dying, did I do a good job? Yes, I am very pleased. Your children to the fourth generation will be kings of Israel. Oh, nice. I was starting to think that this book was just going to be the same cycle of you getting mad at the kings. Someone kills that king, then you get mad at the new guy over and over again. And this shows that that cycle can be broken. You're not going to get mad at me at the end and cursed my whole family and the people of Israel. Right? Dude, I mentioned your family will be kings for four generations. God damn it. Then that, yes. Grandma at the grandma, Goliath, our father azai is dead. Oh, you poor things. Come give granny a hug. "Truthfully. Holy man. Please. So tell me more about the importance of emotional stability, guy who declared his candidacy about putting the word dominion on the side of his printer pretending it was a voting machine and then shooting it with a rifle. That's real. That's all about it. I feel like he tried with a real voting machine at first and it was like kind of bulletproof and nothing really happened. Two printer that would explode with the bullet a little bit more. The proud boy trying to rip that antifa protest. And what I love about that paragraph is that Jackson is aware that the right has been using words like molesting and grooming, but he doesn't understand why. So he's just like, I've been told that dad is molesting his kids now. Is that what I think? Anyway. He concludes, quote, it's not bottom surgery. It's mutilation. You've islamicized your genitals. What? You've islamicized yourself. Muslims do genital mutilation for women that have sex are committed adults. Wait, what? That's what Muslims do. You are islamizing your genitals. So yeah, you heard it here first, folks. Trans people, you are Muslim from the waste down now, so act accordingly. No arles until sunset? Yeah, sure. No crotch making. I don't know. People take your explosive diarrhea much more seriously. Jesus. And in adoption news tonight, a kid who would have a loving family doesn't because Alabama family adoption services is run by bigots and the state is okay with that because they work Christian about their bigotry. And no, this is not the story of a same sex couple getting turned away, though I'm sure that probably happened in Alabama last week too. Instead, this is the story of the browning family who has told that they'd be ineligible to adopt from the agency because they were atheists. In response to a question about whether their lack of belief would be an issue, the agency responded, quote, we could not work with you. We are not specific about one's faith, but the biological families we work with do request that our adoptive families have a spiritual life and to quote. I get what you're saying, but we're winning by two willing parents against the original. We win. That's the whole score. To zero us. Also, literally any time this adoption agency ever says anything publicly about how they care about children ever again. I'm just gonna stand there yelling like, well, almost as much as we care about them being the same religion as us. Like, I'm gonna be the fuck you Yoko Ono Twitter account, but in person. Right for this adoption agency. So right, yeah, so your first thought may be how the fuck is this legal, but since your second thought is almost certainly because lawmakers have spent more than a decade insulating Christian bigotry against the rule of law, I won't bother clarifying that for you. Of course, co owner of the agency Susan Wyatt insists that it's not bigotry because there are many groups they don't discriminate against. When contented by a local CBS affiliate about the issue, why it explained, quote, we've placed children with Jewish families, we did have an Indian family.

"That I mail him with? No, no, not that I can think of. Do you have a service to recommend to me for that? I can't cut, come on, heath. We just went over this in arbitration. I declare a meeting the high council right now. Arbitration has obviously failed us. High council. There's no need to bring the high council into this. I think there is a need to bring the high council in. Fine, I'll blow the concrete. I'm going to go get my light sword then. Oh, you're going to need the light sword. I was still in the box. And we're back. Next up in headlines in female to Muslim news. I don't want to say that there's an upside to anti gay bigotry. Well, I'm glad to hear that. But I'll let her hear that. I will say if the sizable cloud of prejudice does have a silver lining, it's the transphobic, it's downright weird in its final thrashing stages before death. And I would argue that there's no better example of this than Jaron Jackson, a right-wing Christian nut bag, who is running for a seat in the Oklahoma Senate, who declared this week during his live stream on Tuesday that transgender individuals are turning their genitals Muslim by being trans. Really? Well, so now I'm picturing a disembodied penis on a little tiny prayer rug bound to Mecca. And wishing we could make our own cartoon series. SUNY tunes, there you go. Fantastic. Angela? He's gonna do it now for sure. That's awesome. Yeah, so Jackson standing in front of a bookshelf that contains what I'm gonna call a baffling amount of crazy shit, like a single old boot, a bottle of red wine and a tiny trophy the size of my thumb. Okay. Took issue with a Reddit post from 2017 because apparently his Internet runs only slightly less behind than his values. Sorry, just circling back. Those are normal items for a bookshelf. I feel like you're being weird. Wouldn't you have a boot red wine and a small trophy? The size of a thumb? Why is that weird? That's fair. Stupid, you're coming with stupid. Yeah, so in the post, a parent is asking how they can support their trans kid. And Jackson has this to say. Quote, God's categories are good categories. God's plan is a good plan. It's a good order. Most of what we see today is a rejection of God's order. Most of what we see today are people seeing what God has made and choosing to reject it and deny it and destroy it and molest it. Okay, so like honestly, if he was talking about starlight flavored Coke, I think I'd be on board. Right? All right, there you go. He continues, that father, I believe, is criminally responsible for manipulating and grooming his daughter. And then he remembers he's supposed to be dead naming the kid and he's like, that father was criminally negligent to his son because that father has not built his worldview on truth. The sun is suicidal. The sun is messed up. Physically. Chemically. Emotionally, relationally..

"Sanders. And then I had to remind myself that's just our bit. It's not their bit. So it might sound like Rachel Hamm has no political experience or relevant skills, but she's not just some lady with a son who can see invisible closet attackers. She's actually an election empath, too. And she verified that Donald Trump was the real winner of California's electoral votes in 2020. She checked that by driving all over California before the election and doing empathy, I guess. And it turns out that pretty much the whole state was in favor of Trump at that point in history. In 2020 it was just a lot of Trump people all over California. So that's how we know there was election fraud because in the end he didn't get those electro votes. And that's what led to her latest announcement. She knows that California Democrats are going to try their best to steal the election from her too, just like they did with Trump. So she did some praying. And during an interview last week, she was asked about that. The question was, what are you praying for? And him said, I would pray that I win, and again, I pointed out, it seems like that would be the end of the praying. But no, she continued one thing that I've been doing is praying that if anyone tries to steal a vote that God would send the angels to steal that vote back. I'm sorry, we do not have a registration for yo meal, the watcher. That's a very nice halo, but I'm just picturing a ballot tug of war between a thousand eyed ball of flaming wings and.

"5 nailed it. Nailed it. Good job. These guys have committed a crime. They have committed treason against the United States of America and it's constitution and word for word. The connective tissue was two things that both have numbers and you still manage to fumble it, dude. Just wow. It's like the telephone game, you know, with a bunch of people doing word association, his thoughts by himself are like that. That's rough. Sale, fuck, I got myself. Booth, John Wilkes booth. So yeah, I checked the website and apparently flashpoint live did not have a trivia night or any photos of an adorable toddler that won everyone's hearts and minds. So it seems like the Christians definitely lost. If we compare the two events, that said, I'm not sure why Christians need a convention to keep reinforcing your faith in provably wrong statements. I thought that's what church was for. Yeah, you already have. And next up in headlines, this is why Christian people should not be allowed to hold public office. Now, okay, it sounds like we cut ahead by accident, but if you're a longtime listener, you know that we could start pretty much every story like that. It's going to make sense eventually once we explain it. At least a lot of them. So this week, we got another reminder of this truth that we hold to be self evident. When GOP candidate for California's Secretary of State, Rachel Hamm said words out loud again. And according to him, God is going to commit voter fraud on her behalf. So she can win the election. Okay, but in God's defense, it's pretty much impossible for trinities to cast a ballot without committing voter fraud, so. I like that it's still going to be cheating, right? Omnipotent omniscient owner of the universe is not going to win her the election. No, he's going to pull a fast one during the election. Just have her get more vote. Whatever, it's a really elaborate plan. So here's a quick background on how Rachel ham got started in politics until very recently she didn't have any political aspirations. But then she had her little kid, she has a little son. She had him examine her closet. And as we all know, that changes everything, especially considering her son is a seer. What? And when the kid, yep, the kids are sear. So the kid checked the closet and saw in it. And he said, there's a really big guy whose power is pushing me to the ground. And that's when the man in her closet, that guy handed a scroll to the little kid and it said, on a scroll, I guess, tell your mom to run for Secretary of State of California. Also, that was Jesus Christ of Nazareth in the closet because, yes, it was. My favorite detail is the scroll. It's like Jesus easing his way into texting. Here's my problem. I'm so deep into the inside and running jokes. We've built Bible based theater in this show that I was sure you were going to tell me it was Sarah Huckabee.

"Perspective here. The Supreme Court is off the rails when it comes to quote religious liberty issues. But this is going to be a parting gift from judge Breyer to us. Hopefully judge Jackson will have slightly more sensible views on the separation of church and state. But even then, that's going to be a Sotomayor Jackson to vote minority for the foreseeable future. It's real bad and it's going to get worse and the only way to fight back against that is at the grassroots level. That's why I find myself as general counsel for show called the scathing atheist in the years in which people tend to be somehow less scathing and it just couldn't be more necessary. All right, well, Andrew, thanks so much for helping us make sense of this. And let me promise you one more time that eventually we're going to have you on to talk about something other than the judicial sky falling. That would be nice. Eventually, I would like something other than the judicial sky to fall. But that too, yeah. Let's see if we can make that happen. And in con con news, you know, as we were reflecting on the awesomeness that was American atheist convention last week, I couldn't help but wonder what Christians are up to at their conventions. Well, luckily, the news feeds answered my question last week as we learned that Christian nationalists gathered at oral Roberts university in Oklahoma, along with several elected Republican politicians and an event called flashpoint live to repeat a bunch of demonstrable lies about the 2020 election. Well, okay, but to be fair, repeating demonstrable lies is their entire thing. That's fair. That's the thing. Just be drunk at 3 a.m. at the bar and lie to everyone. That's what you're supposed to do to so much better than Christianity. Do you drink too much? Have a little Coke and lie to everybody at the bar. Come on. Yeah, but that's how the religion gets started, right? Jesus was feeling good. It was Passover. Everyone was sitting on the same side of the table and here we are. Right, so among the attendees were congressman Kevin Hearn, the state's attorney general John O'Connor, and several other state level officials. But the host for the evening was Jean Bailey, who works with tuple of demons aficionado and billionaire mega preacher, Kenneth Copeland. And Bailey got right to the bullshit, saying quote, there's one thing that I know for sure, and this is the raw truth. The raw truth was on November 3rd, 2020, president Donald J Trump won the election. Sorry, I got to go back a little bit though. Does anybody else feel like John O'Connor is the off brand leader of the resistance that got chased by the term O Nader or something? So later in the evening, preacher Hank coonan, who regular listeners will remember for predicting that the coronavirus wouldn't affect America because Donald Trump was pro life. Well, here's what he had to say about Joe Biden's administration. Quote, they're talking about Biden's poll numbers. What they really need to be talking about is cell numbers. Not phone. Prison cell numbers..

"Common to lie this brazenly, this openly, as you've set up in this court. And by the way, those lies have continued in the mainstream press. Yes. In The New York Times daily, which followed around coach Kennedy and spun this kind of ridiculous narrative. So just to be clear, coach Kennedy's argument is, all I ever do is the moment the game is over, I sprint out to the 50 yard line while my kids are still in the end zone, you know, celebrating. And then I kneeled down and I very, very quietly say a little prayer to myself that last 15 seconds. Now, we know that's a lie because apparently unlike the entire sitting Supreme Court, we've met evangelical Christians before, right? There was no the last time the next time an evangelical Christian prayer lasts 15 seconds and is quiet will be the first, right? It lasts 5 hours and takes place in the middle of an airplane, right? That's what these guys do. That's what the evangel part of evangelical is, okay? And it is well documented. This is the first cert petition opposition to assert petition. I've ever seen that has photographs in it. Why does it have photographs in it? Because again, the cert petition says, he's quietly petitioning for prayer for 15 seconds on the 50 yard line by himself. And then you look at the brief filed by the school district and there's 75 people in here. There's a little arrow that you have to point out where the coach is, right? And so this is really a repeated pattern over and over again. That started with quietly praying by yourself. Then escalated to pregame and postgame prayers with your students. Then allowing students on the team to join his on field prayers. Then he began standing, holding up the helmets from both teams and delivering motivational prayers to the players with kneeling Bremerton players surrounding him and sometimes, as you pointed out in the introduction, players from the opposing team joined also. So to put all of that together, the Bremerton school district said, under duh law, the lemon versus kurtzman test, this is very obviously an endorsement.

Oh, I wish no, with my body I'd have been shot in the head. Okay. Yeah, we're more like the old leather and glue, I guess. Of course. And with the thought of dead horse meat on your mind, I suppose it's a great time to pause for a word from this week's first sponsor. Blue apron. Aw man, not boring old spaghetti again. Tell me about it so boring. Hey, hey guys, what are you complaining about now? Oh, hey Noah, we're just tired of eating the same thing day after day, you know? Well, why don't you guys try blue apron? Blue apron. No, no, absolutely. Watch 1.79. I already agreed. You can't keep your own stopwatch after the trade coffee incident. We said we said that you couldn't keep your own. So blue apron delivers. Now we have rules that just apply to me. Absolutely not. No, no, this is the kid excuse all over again. You cloned Anna's phone and texted me the baby is really, really hurt during ads so you could get a point. We have arbitrated this already. Lots of fresh ingredients. Apparently we need to arbitrated again because you're a cheater. Okay, you know what? Let's get Andrew. He's on the show this week for headlines anyway. He'll talk us through this. Fine, let's go get him. I suggested it. The better way to cook. And now, back to the headlines. In our lead story tonight, the Supreme Court seems ready to unravel decades of precedent on coercive school prayer in a case about a high school football coach whose lawyers claim that he was fired for engaging in quiet, private prayer on his off time after football games. And that's true, except for the part about the prayers being quiet and private and the part about him being off of work and the part about him being fired. What really is lying about that? What really happened is that he led students on his team and the opposing team in very loud prayers on the 50 fucking yard line immediately after the games. Repeatedly, even after the school's administrators asked him to stop and explain how that would be seen as coercive. And when he refused, they didn't fire him, they put him on paid leave until his contract was up at which time he did not reapply for the position and move thousands of miles away. I could see him not knowing the word coercive, but it still definitely. Yeah, exactly. I think it'd be weird to pray with the opposing team 'cause you'd be like, let us win this one.

"Policy genius and by the first choice in Mother's Day gifts for the deity who fucked himself into his own mom at a pool arrangements. My county has 27% fully vaccinated people, which means 73% are karens, brads, and QAnon shamans. Demonstrating that we did, in fact, evolved from filthy monkey men and women. As. Thursday. It's April 28th, and it's clean comedy day. So felt your Hmong out of my blistered cornhole. At least we tried. I am no illusions. Eli bosnic. He then write, and from I didn't even know what that meant really sexually. From legal weed, New Jersey, legal weed Ann Arbor Michigan, and legal AR-15 gunfights week across Georgia. This is the skating atheist. Oh, this week's episode, the Supreme Court will be anything but upside down butt plug Jesus guys back. That'll make sense, eventually. Maybe. And we'll soften the blow of biblical genocide with more funny voices. But first, the diatribe. You know, if this was any other venue, I wouldn't do them the favor of talking about their stupid fucking viral marketing campaign, but considering our audience, I'm pretty confident I could talk about a Jesus based TV show for quite a while without increasing its viewership. So here goes. There's this show called chosen. It's a multi season series about the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth that distinguish itself even before it debuted by crowdfunding over $10 million as every press release the show has ever or will ever put out notes. That makes it the most successful crowdfunded TV show or movie of all time, which sounds good as long as you don't look at the list of all the other most successful crowdfunding projects of all time. I mean, I'm not going to say they're all stupid, but 15 of the top 20 are NFTs and three slots below the chosen on that list as an effort to build Trump's wall through KickStarter. Anyway, despite this amazing crowdfunding achievement, you've probably never heard of the show. And if you ask its producers, that's because the mainstream media hates Christianity and refuses to talk about any other stuff. And if you ask anybody else, it's because nobody's heard of almost every TV show ever. But regardless of the reason, the show decided to do something about it with a viral marketing campaign. The campaign started with a series of boring, uninspired billboards all over the country with messages like binge Jesus on them, right? But then a few weeks after those showed up, they were all mock vandalized. The virgin Mary got silly glasses, Jesus got dressed as a clown and the website chosen sucks dot com was conspicuously painted over the show's actual website. And to be clear, it would have been hard to do a worse job baking vandalism. The font is far too sloppy for a good graffiti artist and far too legible for a bad one. The vandals were super careful to never cover up the name of the thing they were vandalizing, and the messaging was hilariously safe for work. The most profane the vandalism ever got was a reference to ice shit you not. Poopy butts. And if you go to the website that the fake vandals send you to, you're gonna find a video wherein Satan interested discourage you from watching the show and tells you that you're good enough without Jesus, but alas, there is no level of falsity that self evident to Christians or they wouldn't be Christians. So many of them were outraged that someone would blaspheme the image of Christ in such a blatant manner. They called their local police departments. They called the companies that owned the billboards and most critically, they called the local media. Just like the people who planned and paid for this whole campaign intended for them too. Of course, now the producers are apologizing and saying they never intended for anybody to think it was real. I mean, how could they have possibly predicted that reaction from a group of people that over represents the undereducated and has been primed for a decade to seek out persecution against them that doesn't exist? According to the public religion, research institute almost 60% of white evangelicals believe that there's a lot of discrimination against Christians in this country. That's about twice as many as believe. There's a lot of discrimination against blacks and Muslims, by the way. So obviously they were going to freak the fuck out, take pictures of the sign and share them all over social media to prove their point about how oppressed they are. And no apology from any advertiser for anything that caused more people to see their ads has ever been genuine, though this might be the least genuine one so far. And I should point out, by the way, that tricking people into thinking these things were real, isn't the only thing they're apologizing for. Because even when you tell devoutly Christian idiots that the spray painted silly mustache on Jesus was put there by a Christian, they don't stop being mad about it. Turns out they take blasphemy, super serious there, but alienating their core audience was clearly worth it as long as it ends in the media outlets talking about their show complete with image of their ads. Now, as fucked up an admission as it is that these producers are perfectly fine given Jesus a clown knows if it means a few more clicks on their website, there's an even more fucked up admission hiding just below the surface. Because what we're talking about here is a fake.

College Football Bets: Week 1

"On. Espn dot com chuck section. I've given them out daily wager. But you know we'll rip through a few here i want to start with. Ecu this numbers come down a little bit. They play thursday night against appalachian state and look. I think he's us live dog. Jay vermont talked about it as well. They have a bunch of veterans including senior quarterback and app. State's been a little shaky as well. And they have a new quarterback and chase. Bryce you might remember him. He played a key. Clemson then transferred to duke ten and a half a lot of points for team that always seems to pull games out of the hat and have crazy place at the end. I like myself getting double digits plus ten right now but still i would out jumping on on ec as long as you get double digits and maybe a little sprinkle on the money line. That could be some fun The came by actually liked the most Kinda scared about it and it's umass and everybody who listen to pod on a somewhat regular basis knows. I'm kind of the betting bully as humans. A frequent guest. Your calls me. I like to bet on bet against bad teams. Just just do it right. Like orioles season win total under. I've certainly bet against umass in the past but thirty eight is just way too many points. And i'll tell you why won't bell and umass went out and got a bunch of transfers. Their quarterback is a six foot five inch from from colorado like the university of and or colorado university of boulder. And they have two running backs that transferred in one from rutgers. So a team that was like. Fcs not too long ago or fcs quality has some real players and you only have to get thirty eight now pits good. But they're at tennessee. The following week nerd uzis not a guy who's going to run up the score. He's old school. Fourth quarter they'll bring in the is a little bit and on top of that. Probably the best handy angle. I have is the offense coordinator for pit is a guy named mark whipple. He's coached umass twice head coach. Also the most recent time was just a few years ago. This is not situation where he wants to embarrass his former program. Umass is a special place in his heart. Whipple's going to call off the dogs as well. So i just think if you can get about two touchdowns even if it's garbage time i think plus thirty eight is the play in. That game is crazy. As it sounds another game. I like is essentially a coin. Flip game and it syracuse minus one. And a half. you might remember. I've talked about it with jay motto. The over three in the win total. They're going to split time at quarterback. Babies made that announcement. I don't love it. I would prefer. Tommy devito to be the entire time but dual threat with michigan state. Sorry mississippi state transfer garrett schrader. They're just better at a lot of positions that ohio but most importantly syracuse addressed. Their offense align issues. There was a pathetic. Offense couldn't even average average about two hundred fifty yards per game. Not passing just total yards per game. The veto would be injured. A lot spent a lot of time on his back. If they're okay on the offensive line this is just a syracuse team. That's just better. No more frank. Solich at ohio. Bob cats will rotate. Quarterbacks curtis rourke. Who's obviously the brother of nathan rourke the former stud bob cats quarterback and then armani rogers transfer from unlv. Ohio's very good. They looked good last year against the too bad teams really bad teams in the mac akron bowling green. But i think use gets there which is better talent especially with vito healthy and maybe we hope and improved offensive line. Fourth play i want to talk about

"Oh yeah fans out there. i hear it. We got krinsky and all that momentum then rollerblades came out southern california hockey was on fire. We took down the lease in game. Seven we headed into the my off montreal canadian. We're gonna take them score. These scored a goal to take the lead and then they took it away and it all went away. Yup in all went away. I remember i was at that game. I think i was even doing post game for this mason. I know you want to say i've been in. Many wins have been losses. Thanks for the call man. Thanks for the call. Yeah i was there. But i was also i was there in twenty twelve when they won the stanley cup. Okay and i was there in two thousand fourteen when they won the stanley cup for those all right so you can't blame you so you can't blame me for that came. Let's let's sneak one more in here. Let's go to jose and southgate. Jose seven ten. Espn what are you doing man. Yeah hold you guys say. I enjoy your show. Toss they steve. A part of the family has season tickets so looking forward to that. Awesome stadium Who man whose house house baby you go there you go back. I'm sorry go ahead. What's the game you'd like to have back okay. So i'm gonna have snaking five in the dodgers when they got vob or our noble vengeance but the game obviously being ram game is last super bowl. Brandin cooks was wide open in the end. Suggesting that out and forget about that. How about those. No holding on cooks toward the game right before. He got through that interception. Yup that tenure lane and that Girly a call for a whole and that big run twenty. I run with a put the rams in the in the fifty yard line or something. Yup i would have to say the rams with all the other ones all the other got to win championships. The dodgers this year. But yeah with the rent i mean that. Was this harsh here. Man new quarterback new attitude new stadium. Man steve appreciate it. Like i said i love your guidance. Show miss ireland. Make make sure you stay high for him. We'll do in. I'll see. I'll see you guys in sofi stadium all right. Thanks for calling appreciate that. Yeah boy if you told me before that game that the rams defense was gonna hold new england thirteen points. Yup that was the year of the high flying. Rams i would have said. There's no way we lose that game. No way we lose a game and by the way he's completely right. Yep brandin cooks was wide open and gough missed him. And that was the turning point of the game. As far as i'm concerned because that puts back in it now would have made. That would have made the game ten ten yup confidence that goes with that right. 'cause i always wonder when a quarterback misses a receiver. What point do they realize. They missed him but is it after the play. The tape does anybody to tell them or is it like after the game. I think it's right afterwards. I think like they see it as soon as the ball doesn't leave their plays over there. Like oh it's right there then you're thinking about it the rest of the game. Yeah it's just hard to believe that. Jared goff the same jared goff that i saw throw for a million yards against the kansas city chiefs on that night game at the coliseum that that guy could devolve into what he was last year. Confidence is a fragile thing. Yeah and obviously completely lost confidence in them. Oh well he lets himself. I think too. I think so too. Yep new year new attitude new stadium new quarterback this year here momoa. I feel it home of the rams whose house rams house coming up next. They missed it last last year. They missed the fans us here. I'll absolutely did all right. So there is a very significant book. That came out on this date in two thousand three and it has impacted sports in a way. That is impossible to miss impossible to miss. It's one of the most significant sports books written in history. I got that coming up next for you. Mason ireland seventeen. Espn yeah keyshawn. Tomorrow morning search your day with keyshawn. Then you got your travis and sleep show. I heard part of that today. They were talking about cobra kai which is show that i heard that planet -olutely love. I was listening to travis today. Yeah yeah. I was listening to them. I don't know what's leeward. Has against cobra kai so weird. It's a great show. It's a great show and sleeker doesn't get it and it's not max us and then s okay. So i want to get to this. Madonna thing here in a minute and a minute. But first momo yeah one of the significant sportsbooks in history history was released on this date in two thousand three any venture. any guess. Two thousand three zero guesses okay. It is michael lewis money. Oh yeah money. What i love about. Michael lewis okay. First of all condolences diminish family had think is one of the kids was killed nicole. God really horrible. Look what i love about him. He re- he created his own genre. Yup create is on jonah. It's smart intellectual and it's awesome. I just think it's so hard to do that in this world to just come up with something and everybody now knows a money ball. It's like it's like when you when you go to hollywood pitch meetings and they say it's like this meets this yup. Do you know how many books have been so. It's like money ball. How many shows and movies the moneyball meets whatever moneyball meets whatever exactly. I think that it was the advent of us knowing about analytics. Percents no idea that this stuff going on. Yeah but billy. Bean was ahead of the game. He was really the. I mean you could say bill. James was the beginning of it. But really i think billy bean was the progenitor of analytics and major league baseball and it sorta let the cat out of the bag. All the sudden we knew how the sausage was being made and everybody began making it the same way. Do you think people other teams looked at moneyball and said up. We gotta do that. We're behind. I absolutely do. This is what everybody does. Every copycat league or not copycat is a copycat in life. Okay so if you have a movie and never goes. Oh what's the next. Whatever it's it's the next whatever and and so like. I think that moneyball was the thing that one everybody wanted to copy that as a book and a movie is as a jump and then it also opened a door. Something that's been going on and probably a lot of people in the field knew this was going on but the couldn't name it. Yes they couldn't name it. I've just got a text from bed. Lines pitch three projects a month under the. It's like money ball but for the best. I mean that that's how that's how john redefining. It was wanna bench pitches. it's fantastic. he's really good a likable person. Smart smart likable. joya work with. So here's here's the thing that i don't underst- never understood about this. Why did billy bean spill the beans. you know. He probably had no idea. That's where mike lewis was going. Go you think so. You think he didn't notice. All of the firing of the trading pain yoga and putting hattiesburg at first base and bring in chad. Bradford and all that stuff i think that he spilled the beans to michael lewis and i think everybody all the sudden decided you know what now we know. Billy's formula yet..

"Allen's a little bit better. Technically i think that cooper has a little bit better quicker footwork to two separate cd. Liam is going to be a top ten ish receiver after this season and with that prescott. Michael gallup is a top twenty wide receiver and the nfl now without dak prescott. That number goes down a little bit. Because dak prescott is able to get the ball to places where michael gallup is able to really flourish. Which is something that other. Quarterbacks aren't good enough to do to to really show. What gallup does well. And so i like the wide receiver just wide receiver trio of the cowboys better. Yeah with tight ends. I do like the bucks. The buck's trio of typhoons is is outstanding. You've got him in a besting targeted when you're talking about the wide receiver trio. I think it they aunt antonio brown still get the benefit. The dow. Yes name recognition. You know us obviously a superstar the steelers but the fact of the matter is he hasn't been at since leaving pittsburgh you know his head case of two different places with with the raiders. Obviously things that worked out the patriots. Either i mean he had some important plays at the buccaneers last year. And they're in their ryan by one at say he was like a big x factor. Big i mean you mean Co wise is name. Scotty miller he. I mean he was just as important as antonio brad. If not more in that playoff run i think i think if you're ranking trios and you're putting tampa bay right now over dallas his trio. Are they gonna just has to do is more people are familiar. Tonia browns in michael gallup michael galliano third-round pig you didn't have the name recognition and he doesn't have the publicity and he's a big personality a lot of people know about him like you said it. Honestly that's what i love about. The cowboys. receiving group. Right now is there are really no big personalities. Cd is just a kind of a normal dude. From everything that i've been able to see cooper is incredibly reserved and why dude is well. It's a really awesome group. And i wish. I hope that they're able to keep all three together. I just don't see how to keep gallup. After the season him in him and tak had that really special unique relationship on and off to feel. Like you're saying dak knows how to get in. Get him the ball in like tight. Windows are only gal can get it Not every quarter. I can do that. They have that connection there and it seems like it's been that way since his rookie. I remember his first. Career is washington at fifty yard touchdown or whatever that was Ever since then. They've kind of forced together on the field. I mean you see them together. Rangers games here in town. I think i think if you ask stack give will do everything in his power to keep gal is like you said i don't know if they can afford it. Are they gonna make that work. If you're just wide receiver trios out. Deathly taoist at the top of the league I don't really see anybody else. That can really challenge. I mean there's duo. Second john for sure but when you put one two and three Is to stock up real quick. That bleacher report article had metcalfe unlock it at number two ahead of ahead of dallas earlier. I don't have i. I don't have a huge problem with them being ahead of the cowboys but people are somehow sleeping on. Julio jones i that he was injured last year but he was still putting up numbers playing through a strain hampering for most of the season. He is still superstar. I think he's still pound for pound the best wide receiver. Nfl i think that the most dangerous wide receivers tyreek hill. But that's a different conversation. I think julio jones's still for my money and the best received the nfl but guys that's all we got for you today. Thank you for finding that Last the last su there by the way cold. Yeah for sure. Also love the headset loving the audio that we are getting from patterson now i am very game exactly man. I'm excited to keep this with. Listen we're we're getting into june. NFL Franchise Tag: What it is and how it works

"What is a franchise tax. So you hear this word a lot. I always used to think franchise tag means. We're just gonna see that player on that specific team for the remaining of the season but there or for the next year but they're a little more complicated in that so every offseason teams have a two week window to plot to a one year franchise tag so once the player gets tagged they can either sign that contract or a long term extension. Which is the more i think. That's the more popular use of the franchise tag because a of teams don't want their their coveted players to hit free agency and they don't want another to swoop them without getting being able to offer them. I so these salaries for for each tag varies by position and the price is set by either adding the top five paid players from each position or it can be one hundred percent of a player's previous year's salary so twenty percent Increase in that salary so by position quarterback at least twenty six million a year with the franchise tag water. She was get seventeen million defensive ends get around seventeen million but less than receivers linebackers get fifteen million and so on and so forth. I think running backs get around ten million so it all depends on how guys are being being paid at that specific position so teams only can use this once a year and they can only use it on one player you can use it on the same player different years but yeah you can only had us one tag per year. There's different types of tags. There's an exclusive franchise tag which means players can't negotiate it all with other teams. There's a non exclusive franchise tag where other teams can make an offer and then The the team that has that player can match that offered and take the player And then there's a tradition. Tax tradition tags are similar to non-exclusive but players get an average of top ten position salaries instead of top five. So there's a little bit of a my discrepancy there and once the tag is applied teams have until mid july to renegotiate the contract. So like i said most common use for these franchise tag is not let a player. They want hit free agency. They wanna keep them around and then negotiate a more long-term deal to save some money and get under the cap for the foreseeable future so these somewhat can be slightly unfair A lot of players disliked the franchise tag for example on robinson is voiced his opinions against the franchise tag because it plays a lot of restrictions on upper-echelon players. So when a player like allen robinson gets franchise tagged they can't really find the real market value because they have that set price on them and if they wanted to go explore free agency then they could go interview with a bunch of teams test the waters and see what their actual worth is rather than getting a set number Just put on them so that's somewhat unfair This makes them have no financial security past one season. So if there's an injury then you know they just their value could just completely plummet. Under the franchise tag now players can hold out. That's really the only leverage they have in the su- situation but you know that's asking a lot of a player to put their public. Perception line put their reputation with the fans on the line and so most players don't do that but it has gotten to that point before so most cases players work at a deal for the tag comes into place in july which is the deadline for them to restructure. Or make that deal. So now i'm gonna get into what players have got tagged so far and What does that mean for. These teams moving forward. I player i wanted to discuss. Is alan robinson so. This one was obvious when it had to be done. Bears have a lot of uncertainty at the at the quarterback situation. So i don't think they wanted to make a long term deal without knowing where what direction they were gonna go with the quarterback. But you couldn't let player of this caliber and a player. This talented gopher nothing in return so in twenty twenty roms a career. High one hundred two passes for twelve hundred fifty yards. And he's only twenty seven which is pretty remarkable considering everything he's been through he had a tornado in two thousand seventeen with jacksonville. And he's really played with really bad quarterbacks over the years he's had blake bortles who's a backup slash bouncing around the league and he's played with mitch trubisky. Who's a failed first round pick for the chicago bears. And he's still been that he's had that production there no matter what. So i really wanna see robinson play with upper echelon quarterback and i just think if you give him a russell wilson someone who's above slightly above average maybe even just average than his numbers will go up. Even more is ridiculous so like i said he's a true number one receiver. I would argue top five in the league. He's either gonna play for seventeen million in two thousand twenty which is what his franchise tag number. I think he's looking for more around twenty million and easier gonna play under that contract or he can hold out. Which i think is definitely a possibility with this player just because of the displeasure. He's voiced on social media and kind of how players of rallied. His teammates have rallied rallied around him and they really want to see him get paid but when you look at the market value so he's gonna get paid seventeen million the tag next year.

UCL Trouble for Chelsea?

"Welcome insulation of spnfz down. Thomas during the today by allie. Moreno gotten off coffee. You'll be hitter flags on a big win for you today but we start in the champions leaks good matches. Isn't it coming up over the next couple of days. We'll stop at looking trump. Let's go madrid against chelsea some other. The chelsea as favourite not six to four on to advanced next trying athletics. Eleven to ten men rapids. He absolutely flying in la league the first half of the season they have somewhat just a little bit foreign off. Course levante being very much thorn in that side. You're against on wednesday lost on saturday. Let's welcome shall we. Don't just sit low. Lo look ahead to this game. Say let's start off with a athletic perspective xiaowei. What's going wrong with them. They all right. I think we'll go move the wrong with them. In part was that this was likely to happen at some stage. Although perhaps not in quite this way bear mind. They've now dropped many points in twelve days as they had in the inside season up until that point but is in for full-on collapse in all four games. It's one victory to drills the fate as a site. that'd be on such good full. It was fifty four fifty seven points at fifty fifty seven points in the first half the season that it feels like a glass. I think in a way if you look at the results before this games way they were always on edge there again where they were just about coming through very light winner. You've are weiner out of s for example that going behind much more often than previously remember they concedes remedies minute behind in the entire season. That's not happen more often. They're conceding early goals. They gonna seven games in a row conceding so it was the probably some point tip slightly now not into a full blown crisis but certainly into a situation where they were necessarily gonna mean sign that level incredible efficiency in winning games that they had up until fruitful weeks ago and coming up against a chelsea side. Don still unbeaten under to call but very very ordinary against hanson. Yeah just methodical. The hard sites watch chelsea they get. The job done. Didn't against that in the drawer but they were hard. Watch nothing. thomas tickle early on. I think he's testing these players. Think he's testing. Mentality is testing the players and different systems. Put the weekend. He lasted fifteen minutes and took stripe off again so he didn't work took off the ball put about so it's a chelsea sought while you won't you come on west off whereas the where's the attack and fled just very very methodical. Caffeine phoenix can tighten me. I can't imagine be free flowing ends and talking football full three job so don just call chelsea methodical and if you think of you don't feel like hey look at them they're open. They're attacking they're going to commit number full and so therefore if you have an athletic team that has been struggling to get results and you have a team. That is quote unquote methodical. Then yes you're exactly correct. This is not four three. this is set pieces. This is very tied very tactical certainly in the first leg in which is going gonna make it physical from. They have to get back to that. They've lost a little bit of that and they've lost a little bit of attention to details in the game against the weekend. Golda was not scored by motorists early on. There's the ball over the top from set piece attack and said piece of mind on a mis-clearance goes over fifty yards and morales one one situation against like that doesn't happen against atlantic city. But it's been happening more and more often over the last ten days or so they have to clean up those details and clean those details where you're going to find something that is going to be very very difficult to beat

"We played atlanta and it was a close game i think the second one and then finally broke it open and i kept saying that you know people were like. Oh my god. I gotta within seven. I was like yeah but atlanta or maybe it was washington washington. This kept late they had to like. They're playing their absolute best football and just keeping in the game. I think that's what's going to happen with the chiefs. I really do. I think that you know that. Todd bowles is going to have something for this defense from what they're gonna try to do. Think the bucks. Agonize should have a nice counter for which is very important because what i loved about. The green bay game is when we got pressure was four and green bay countered with rollouts bootlegs and wagle's that todd bowles already had an answer. Okay it was like when they do this. It didn't take a quarter and a half. They didn't take three possessions locker room and talk about it. As soon as aaron rodgers started coming out he started. He's like okay if you see them. Roll out your the cornerback. It outside guy you go you leave your man and you go at him because we're not gonna get him outside so he has time to look downfield. Take bigshots right. We're not going to give them that. We're gonna make him do is throw it to the guy who seven yards downfield. We're going to make the tackle if you get the first down. That's fine we're gonna with seven to twelve yard gains instead of thirty forty fifty yard gains running. Let him attempt it so having the confidence to sing. Todd bowles think it through. Because i think the chiefs are gonna come in looking like the rams the rams all ran eight times and if todd bowles is ready for that and he has a planning to work on it for two weeks. I think that casey struggles to score. You know what you're saying is you. Don't think it's a shootout. You think that this is a lopsided game towards the buccaneers. I think the bucks win by double digits. I think i ran. I gotta tell you. Okay okay let me ask you this. How much of that is you really taking off your your biased fan hat and just trying to be as unbiased analytical. Possible like beyonce's yourself bryan. Have you ever known me to talk about a game with my fan hat on okay. Well it's not it's not vegas has the chief by three because everyone thinks the chiefs. They haven't lost. That's why everyone picking the cheese. Yeah if you really look at this with the chiefs do well. They.

"fifty yard" Discussed on Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red

"There's no doubt there's absolutely no doubt that the draft this year was the least valuable draft of all time because the ncaa season was pretty much just he acc and a couple of exhibition games. It was really hard to tell who is valuable. But the other thing is as the over the last ten years as mls Homegrown academies have become more important the really valuable layers were scooped off the top by the grounds or they're already stashed the rose so like there are guys who are in college and are also playing for ny rb to And they belong to red bull but there are you know and if they and they're also going to school and if in the end they wind up panning out as really good soccer players. Rebel already has a claim on them and with with the exception of the country being minnesota. That's what it looks like right now. Like cool bassett was never gonna be a super graphic gore. Bassett was gonna be a guy that the rapids at acclaim. So that's why the draft is less valuable there still value there because there's still some players who washout of academy there's still some guys who really don't develop as players until they're twenty twenty one years old and it's great that there's a place for them because in other countries those guys often just passed over and they wind up having to be jean-yves vardi where they grind it out in the seventh division. Before they you know kind of like surprisingly make it to to. Mls matt were you. Did you have you kind of like a grand philosophical way. Did you have any big thoughts about the nature of the super draft in the changing world. We live in First of all markelle just a quick fact. Check for you. It was fourth and fifth. The dc had their overall pick saw grafting. Kim arnie smith of ford from clemson west at the rapids could have had their eye on when they were originally picking six and that michael shields defender out of wake forest. But certainly a as you can attest to having watched a lot of men pit. Men's soccer lots of acc players drafted in the upper half of that first round draft. But i think. I think just with the size of men's soccer mark even as we seen the pandemic just the state of college athletics in this country kind of cannibalize a lot of those programs in soccer not be very high on the top list because it has a a decent roster size. It's a pretty busy schedule. Pretty busy travvy skipped travel schedule. There would be a little bit more expensive And then obviously it's one. That doesn't make any money. I mean if you're talking about g you maryland university of virginia. You're lucky to have any of those programs. Have a thousand people going to and even then how many of those units with comp tickets or people who only paid five bucks to get into the game when you compare that to somebody who if they want to sit you know you know fifty yard line. Twenty rose up at ohio state alabama at cetera. They're paying you know easily. Probably one hundred fifty bucks assuming before cassidy stadium again. Not the reduced capacity saw her gridiron..

Kim arnie smith five bucks Bassett fifty yard one hundred fifty bucks fifth fourth Twenty seventh division clemson red bull first round michael shields this year twenty twenty one years old six maryland university of virgini bassett ohio minnesota
