Looking Back at the Nissan GT-R
"Arthur to GTRI's reign as the king of Drew Bay had had ended with one of the most controversial finishes in Australian Touring Car Championship history. The following rule changes heavily favored home favourite manufacturers. There's Holden and Ford over the Japanese Nissan but instead of giving up completely the GT our team. Regrouped and refocused. Would you say that they were trying to get. That's how we're going to do it. Got The team was now led by Kozo Watanabe. And is that the any relation to watanabe wheels. No idea so sorry. I'M GONNA look it up later. And Frankly James there. It wasn't a better man for the job Remember that Japanese Grand Prix back in the sixties where I mean the whole reason. This car exist okay. Well a young a young Kozo was at the very first one and saw the old prince cars get defeated by the British and Italian race cars. It was almost by destiny that he lied the. Gt Our team. The team wanted to address two main performance criteria number one understeer. That's when you know you turn your wheel and get a straight. Yeah you don't turn as well so you think it's the opposite of drifting. Exactly and to stiffness. I really wish we had that soundboard money in regards to the second. You know there's like spring thing. Yeah on the wall like that would be as ever Canaan and through the magic of technology awesome in regards to the second part. Art The stiffness engineer and test driver hero Yoshi Kato welded brace bars underneath the car. While testing an art thirty three prototype at the nurburgring to stiffen the car up. He's like the shit sucks. It's time to get her done. Get the thirty. Three's wheelbase was four inches longer. An an inch wider than the previous JEN. The bodywork was much smoother to Looking down downright slippery in comparison to the thirty two's boxy appearance. And so I mean you look at them next to each other. It's definitely a bigger car I I'd say that the R thirty three like when I think of GT ours. Obviously I think are thirty two or thirty three thirty four which we'll talk about later? The are thirty. Three I think is a little bit of the black sheep of the family and it's like a true middle child. Yeah absolutely I like when you said when I think of the GTRI. I'd never think of the are thirty three although it's one of the cool cars in the fast and furious and it's also one of the fastest. Gtri will will get into that and they're legal to import to the United States this year too. That's it's awesome. I know It turns out that this longer wheelbase was a great addition. The are thirty three was more stable at high speed and the reworked aerodynamics reduced lift in the Front by nearly half which greatly increased the grip which helped that understeer and like. I've driven Jesse's car couple times. And you drove your buddies Audi Audi of and s four like you're like yeah all wheel drive great. It's great but then we have it easy like get it. It's because you you get the oversteer from the rear wheels but then you feel this poll from their front and so fun more drive all wheel cars. The more that I get to like it becomes apparent that that's like the best settlement. It's the best way to power the G. R. had a redesigned all wheel drive system. That could better split the torque between all four wheels which saw the understood problem as well. The rear wheel steering system was also upgraded with electric Servoz instead of hydraulic pollick which could be adjusted on the fly faster and more accurately than the hold hydraulic high. Caste system. A lot of people think that the thirty three is face. Lifted Arthur to but as as we've learned not the case not the case what an IB signs team used the art. Thirty G ARTHUR TO GT are formula but improved on it in every way all said and done the thirty three was twenty seconds faster than the R thirty two round the nurburgring which is insane at seven minutes and fifty nine seconds making it the first production car to officially break into the sevens.

"Fifty nine seconds to go first half from sprint center in Kansas City, with Robbie Hummel, I marquess to share Dietrich Lawson's had his opportunities here early on even though Kansas is down five years had terrific looks and he's been isolated with the much smaller tail Horton Tucker, however cashing in has been an issue just two of seven from the field four points really getting after it on the offensive glass, they've got five offensive rebounds outrebounding Iowa State right now by seven you have to think though, the points in the paint, ten six in favor of the jayhawks could be much more could have really cashed in and made an impact early after a member candidates trying to make highway state go big Iowa State trying to do the exact opposite to that. Make them go small right now, we're kind of stalemate and looking at numbers that count. What you say in the paint, Kansas all ten of their points in the paint. I was stayed only two of six from three point land Kansas has it out of the break. Bribes out of the right hash using. The screen from Austin gives it up to Dietrich Lawson just inside the art let's type passed out today to shoot Dodson being hounded goes to Grimes with five with four catching wrecks off. The iron rebounded by Cam lard. Stayed up five having it with wiler Bab on the right way will give it to large get it. Right back to his left double team up to out left side. It goes to Halliburton fifteen on the shot clock. He's got Dietrich Lawson covering passes out. Shea off off the switch pushed out by Lightfoot gets into a plea. Missed the shot high rebound at its Marcus Garin on the baseline. He's got it down towards the docks. Expects to the free throw lights hash out lakeside guarantees wide. Open three missing another outside shot. Another offensive rebound for Tajik. They set up Lawson off the deck drives hard contact. No, call missed the shot. Here comes the other way. Wiler Babbit to the corner hawk right corner. Three missing and a with another rebound state. It's getting some terrific shots. Not falling right now. But Steve promo will take that any day of the week. Got married off of great ball getting a corner. Three wide open. Poets right now at a premium in both fan base is trying to give their teams some energy. Here's Dotson on the drive runs into lard. And it's gonna be a block Paul on large will get helped up and that'll be two free throws for devan Dotson continues to attack the basket and from the perimeter. They are really driving the basketball. Now, the problem has been with a patent. They haven't been able to get anything out of it. I state actor credit their help side defense coming over stopping the basketball right there. The von in making the officials make a call him heart Saudi at jar. I think I would state thought they had a charge. John Higgins says not here and Kansas thought they had free throws. And the official made the poll was John Higgins, you called it said, no shot. So nobody's happy. That's right bounce from the baseline into Garrett sixteen shoot Senator half to go in the first half that Dotson tries reverse layup. No, three five contested a Datsun with the foul. Loose ball. Fouling wiler. Bab living at the basket, but not coming away with anything. Have to think of your guard him you have to make and use the ball. You cannot let him turn it down multiple times here tonight or we've seen him do that getting right to the bucket. But again coming up with nothing. Fifteen by Tange this Iowa State was the ball fifteen to ten we're nearly halfway through the opening half. Makes the catch on the left drive his passes stolen Datsun trying to be traffic down floor reverse is God why Bab was trailing. Let them go. Forced a tougher shot. Dr mehta. Doctrine made a concerted effort to get to his body use that physical contact to get them off balance terrific finishing transitioning Dotson that gets the Kansas fans on their feet. Fifteen twelve Iowa State wiler bad dry. Spike, and it stays in place to Kerry Dabbagh Grimes, driving reverse. Kansas with a chance to tie the game at the free throw line night where we have seen Kansas really struggled to finish the basket. How those last two the fourth one from devan Dotson doing his thing fielding the basketball and in Britain dried going underneath the using the basket to feel the defender really impressive to freshman too. Big time finishes camera large committed the foul. That's his second. It'll put Quinton Grimes at the free throw with a chance to tie the game. Grimes had eighteen points. Sixteen of them in the first half last night in the semis. That he misses the free throw. Half minutes to play in the first half. Fifteen fourteen Iowa stayed maintaining its lead. They'll look into the big twelve sixth man of the year, we're up high with Palin, Horton, Tucker. Tyree Halliburton Baxter Horton Tucker drooling on top of the arts price cut to his less passes. Instead Wigan from the left baseline drive gets too in the air got contact on a shot that missed hesitation move by the sophomore, and he'll shoot to Wigan blowing by who continues to have a tougher path here. Nice head fake, get Mitch life. Put up in the air understand that the player at. That's when you're golden right Brougham which Lendl's Wiggins and does and earned the trip to the line which right cookbooks up his first foul. Six. That's no good. Sophomore. Canada. Mitch Lightfoot led to the bankruptcy. David McCormick back in. So Bill shelf rotating, his big. Even out those minutes here in the first half was a check in pops out offense. Rebound Jacobson, spins and hooks it in coming off a career, high sixteen rebounds that's inexcusable for the Kansas jayhawks not blocking out on a free throw attempt. Bill felt not happy with that. That's a big swing after failing to make the three point play on one end and not close it out on the other seventeen fourteen Iowa State grinds up top to news just back in the game. They'll switch to more, Charlie. Boy, the drive down the lane high off the window. Layup is good just into the game. Charlie more scores. A guy that came into cans with big-time expectations. Probably has not lived up to that. Just two points yesterday in Kansas win, but a blow by driving a pretty right hand. Finish the towel. Transfer gets Kansas seventeen sixteen Iowa State the ball Halliburton pump fakes long three drives the late against bribes puts it up and puts it in his slender frame. He is such a tough player. Nice. Head fake. Nice right-hand-drive gets to the bucket and use side. So well to finish over the top and small guards cyclones up to a three point lead eight oh, five to go in the half quarter drive, the baseline Norton. Tucker says no way, so they go to Grimes inside McCormick. And are reaching in the mid post on the reception of their past and that'll be a foul Jacobson. Michael Jacobson picks up his first that is number six on Iowa State. And we have a time out here in Kansas City with eight minutes to go. The big twelve championship on the line tonight. Iowa State leading nineteen sixteen over Kansas..

"What ADD Q and all this is about and why it matters Kate. Hello. Hi. So before we get into the Super Bowl speed running. We need to break down. What speed running is? I think I did an okay job of describing what it is. But how would you describe video game speed running? It's just completing a game in the shortest amount of time. You can usually in one sitting there sometimes, you know, if you have to be that for hours, maybe there are bathroom breaks. Usually if people are trying to do that, it doesn't always rely on that just a level of skill there. That's a huge part of it means things like finding exploits shortcuts secrets and sometimes even relying on the game being a little bit broken. Yeah. I wanna talk about that you mentioned finding exploits. And last year, I watched the legend of Zelda oke arena of time glitch run. So explain what that means how you might exploited the faults in the video game to beat it faster. Honestly, this is where it gets kind of confusing for me, even sometimes it like a glitter a bug in the game, which is just a malfunction in the way, a game has made all games have them. It's just being able to walk through a wool that you shouldn't be able to do. But sometimes it's really complicated stuff. Like, man. Manipulating the the numbers in the actual games coding to make things happen. As those things you can do and poke them on way. You can spawn like poke them on an items that you. Shouldn't have because the numbers in the coder all messed up because of something you did already understand that one is that how you find out about it. I watched the game yesterday where a guy said if you run into this wall, four times, wait, ten seconds. And then run into it again, you'll be able to bypass the level. And all I could think was how did you know that? I mean, it kind of makes me think about Vanda snatch which is that new net. Flicks black marathon thing if you've played that played that watch that something like that. Yeah. That that has a lot of things like if you pick up the family photo twice. Something different will happen. You know, people are just doing that. But with games, so how many people who's who's doing this or people have never heard of this before who does this. How many people are in this community? Oh, hundreds thousands, probably. But only a few who looked professional enough to make a fulltime job out of it. Usually those people are making money through a streaming on twitch and getting donations three that maybe sponsorships to there are some really amazing speed run as like the. There's a Twenty-three-year-old American called Panja panga who completed Super Mario world in one minute and thirty eight seconds. And then he played it blindfolded and only took fifteen minutes and fifty nine seconds. He used musical cues to try and figure out when he was supposed to do things saving. What kind of time dedication every talking here? That's interesting question. Because I it's like saying how long does it take to become a good run? Like, you might be born really good legs. And you know, you can take years to train those legs to be better legs. Kind of like that. But I would say it would take years to not only learn how to be good at the game. But also how to be in the community is very community based thing because people are always finding new exploits that they share with each other and try to replicate. And then on top of that there's the actual time of doing the speed right now some speed runs as I've mentioned take one to two minutes. A matter of seconds to complete and some take days, for example, the legend of Zelda breath of the wild which came out last year. It's been a long. Yeah. Maybe before it was last year. Okay. Wow. That speed run the hundred percent speed around which is gathering a lot of stuff takes thirty two hours. Right. But it's still that's impressive to do that in thirty two. Oh, yeah. Very steep. Do you think these? I mean, it's funny. You mentioned that you know, you talked about the time dedication to beat Mary three in in one minute or the time it takes to bring Mariel world. In in a couple of minutes is not dissimilar to the training that it would take to try and win a marathon or something like that. And really I was just thinking that if you if you sub out video games for like hockey in the conversation we've had so far. This is an athletic pursued. What do you think speed runners are athletes in their own way? That's really controversial question. It's like asking if games are art. I would say that. I'm not qualified to say whether the speed Reynoza athletes because I don't know enough about sports. But it does take a lot of the same kind of traits that takes, dedication and effort, and perseverance and training some gamers even have specific diets. I think that's an east boats. They have a team, and they put them on a specific diet to make them could it came well something so yeah, maybe we need to expand. What an athlete is. Oh, maybe we need to come up with a term that applies to people who athletes of the mind, right? I want to address some of the folks who are rolling their eyes right now, and who may be spitting out their coffee and everything we just said, so millions of people watch this. They watch other people play video games, really really fast. I watched awesome games. Quick. I watch speed runs. But let's be fair. There's a lot of people listening to this right now who may not understand why watching someone beat a video game as fast as they possibly can is entertaining. What do you say to that? To go back to the whole running metaphor. It is amazing to see someone at the top of that craft. You know, you watch the Olympics because it's not like you're looking at those people and saying I could do that. It's not like you're going to a hockey match and wanting to play hockey, it looks brutal. But you're watching the speed is. And it's amazing what they can do. It's amazing what like human hand in mind than is capable of. You're gonna say watch it to see games that you actually enjoy I like watching legend of Zelda and Mario speed runs because they games I grew up with. So you get to see those games in a whole new way. You can see them go through the walls like I said and behind the scenes of the game. And there's all this kind of broken architecture, and it is like, you know, turning the game on its head. And you get to see it in a whole new way. I also want to say that when you watch these games. There's there's a record on the bottom that the previous record that was set. So when I watched it I'm always trying to find out whether they're going to beat that record. If you're just tuning in. I'm Tom power. This queue of speaking with video game journalists, Kate gray. We're talking about speed runs. Video game speed runs. The reason we're talking about it is that the biggest speed run event the event where people try to beat these games as fast as they possibly can and raise money for charity is called awesome games. Done. Quick. Tell me a little bit more about awesome games. Done quick. Okay. Awesome games. Done quick. It's a twenty four hour seven day. Livestream marathon which features hundreds of different people trying to complete different games as fast as they possibly. Can. It's all going out live on streaming services. "It was in previous seasons. Yeah. I think the. You don't know what's going to happen in the rice, MS soon as a coach yellow will safety car, whatever you don't know how long that's gonna law. So you comedy plan for the total laps. The you're going to need suddenly at the start of the race. Anyway. I'm sure some circuits will full on this sort of magical. Total race time of being close to that full five minute. Point. And so you could look pushing harder to go fast to get over that forty five minute Mark and then reduce the total rice by by that one laughable in tight a cautious approach. Since assume that you might cross the line, forty four minutes and fifty nine seconds and still have to complete two laps. Oh, it's gonna be interesting. But yeah, I mean in the attack mode. I think you can kind of get a feeling of what it's going to be as I understand. It's gonna be probably let two blocks full minutes full books. Two minutes all one block of eight minutes. I mean does any Feddie finite amount of outcomes, and you can probably get decent idea of what you'll general plan will be. But it has it has did you find attack because I was as a Pierce traditionist? I wasn't super up for I thought. Well, okay. The racism mixed up enough is forty five minutes. You're doing the first that the championship contenders. Go out I in qualifying anyway, which is another new rule that you didn't mention my every terrible handwrite say the top five in the championship will always go first out in qualifying. So they again to apart from the first race because this new, but so that always have a bit of a disadvantage there. So it's always going to be a bit of mixed up. Grit to me it was like fine. Leave it Valencia quite apprehensive about it. I thought it worked really cool. There was a time. Where was it was it you will leading or Antonio was leading someone was leading and they had to take their extra power. So they went out wide have been look it doesn't matter and they lost two places, but they'd engage the attack mode. So they now the wording full power behind these tomb within chasing them and trying to put it was cool, actually how how easy is oppose it attack mode on a normal formula racer. Yes, find out but. Depending looking Riyadh for example. You know, you've got some straits where the overtaking will happen, but then the attack mode in the back mountain section is we might call. It is almost pointless have that extra power. You're not gonna really utilize if you'll sat behind someone new just going to sit on that bumper and conserve energy rather than exploited extra power. But then when you get on the streets. It's certainly big enough difference to be able to decide to go for the overtaken pull up alongside them and try and pass them. You're consuming more energy that point save go to weigh out. The pros and cons certainly getting track. Position mood always be Mobin official than saving energy.

Fifty nine seconds into the third period. Two zero Canisius leads face off to the right of crystal. You look at differences in a game last night. They had three power play goals and they win at seven foot three tonight. No power play goals in they're down to nothing. Early in the third. Zurbaran? We'll take the face off for air force. Against Alger for the grips far circle. Puck sports in the corner. Levin gets through it rented around picked up by Bowery turns and goes Marshall Bowery through the neutral zone. "Fifty, nine, two, seven JIMBO Fisher. One of a number of notable coaches making their debuts with new teams this year. So Jonathan Vilma I'm gonna give you a list of first year coaches, and you tell me which one you think is most primed to have success this year there actually twenty head coaches in the f. b. s. in their first season or are they. New team, one way or another. And a lot of them have high expectations. Who do you like on this list to be set up for a big year. We'll like Kevin someone. He set up have a big year because of those coaches, he has the most dynamic player in Khalil Tate, and they can go out. They can score points and he'll figure out how to handle the defense. Then you look at the Pac, twelve south and you say, well, it's wide open. He can go out there and frankly, a realistic shot at winning the Pac twelve south, getting into a Pac twelve title game. And you say, as a new coach, I coach with a great quarterback and Khalil Tate. We make it to the Pacho championship game that's success. Let me John. What do you think there's one conference that had a ton of coaching turnover was the SEC five of the fourteen coaches are new, six count, Matt, Luke who wasn't interim coach. Last year. I gotta go with Joe Moorhead and you saw it there on the stats that we just posted because he has the cupboard full. He has a full roster of guys who are ready to play and have success now. And by the way he's considered a quarterback guru. Well, all he did was tell nicb FitzGerald to clear a space. On his mantle for the Heisman Trophy. That may be a little bit early. That might be a little hyperbolic. But if you've got your quarterback believing that he belonged in that conversation, it can go really long way in the tough SEC. How about chip Kelly? John? What? What? What? What? What are the expectations realistically for him there for this season? Well, let's start with this in the big picture intern UCLA into what he had Oregon, the short answer. Yes. He can't turn UCLA to what he had Oregon because of the talent that he's drawing from in California for this season. He said it himself. He's missing the speed that was the name of organs game when he was their speed speed speed. He's missing that right now. He's going to have some young guys. They're fast athletic. He likes it. He's going to start willing spate over at quarterback. We had to see how it works out, but what what's he gets his guys in there? He'll be really good. Talk about expectations. What does JIMBO Fisher have to do to to walk away with people saying that was a successful first season? Well, I think they put a lot of pressure on him with the higher. Right seventy five million dollars..
Jalen Ramsey of Jacksonville Jaguars on quarterbacks -- Josh Allen 'trash,' Matt Ryan 'overrated'
"Ramsey is one of the NFL's most well-known trash talkers and he did not hold back. They didn't interview with g. q. and offered his unfiltered opinions on several NFL quarterbacks. Some of the opinions are that Joe flacco quote sucks. Matt Ryan is overrated. Ben Rothlisberger is decent at best. And on Andrew luck. I don't really think he's that good. And I think his most fishes opinion, Josh, Josh, Allen. He said, he's trash and it's going to show too. That's a stupid draft pick to me. We play them this year and I'm excited as how I hope he's they're starting quarterback. He also said that was good in the playoffs. Obviously, that's his quarterback, but I don't have a problem with this. I really like personalities. I think they're good for everybody. They're good for the league. The good for our brochure and Jalen Ramsey is very good. So walk, he walks, he talks right blush. And so I don't. I don't have a problem with him going out there and giving his opinion go back it up and don't be mad when people come back at you, that is where you have to. You have to the line, like if you're going to talk trash than be b, that, but he was. He was me man. Well, he was totally honest with exception about Blake Bortles. Yeah. And, and I mean he gave his opinion, doesn't have Doesn't to. have to. That's not real. It's not his real opinion. I don't know, hook the Jaguars don't think so. They got the ball back what fifty nine seconds ago in the AFC championship game and the first half and decided to take a knee like they clearly do not believe what he sent. He said that they did not trust them. That's not Jalen Ramsey's call obviously. But he said that the team did not shut the team did not put the trust in Blake, they need, but he he is. He's the, he's the dirty south version of Richard Sherman, right? And he's in that he's in the prime of his career was Richard Sherman is coming. He's out of the prime of his career and look. It's a position to which you're allowed to talk track, which is why I love it. Just laws you You back. back in the back it up, right? What she does. So I like it and Josh Allen was asked about it, and he said, he doesn't care, which is the response should
