A Live Animated Stage Production... Wait, what?

"Thing. I feel like i haven't spent enough time. Thinking about is how the pandemic will change arts not just what kind of pandemic themed stories will see and have already begun to see but literally how it will change the medium for some things. It's something that a lot of other people have been thinking about. However and some technologies that were previously relegated to low budget. College tinkering are starting to get their moment in the spotlight and the funding to boots. Here's one example. The royal shakespeare company in england is putting on a virtual production using real time animation created by actors in a motion capture space who will interact live with virtual audiences basically they have actors in motion capture suits and facial regained with corresponding avatars of their characters. The audience will be able to see both the actors and their characters as they move around and perform inside a virtual forest scene and as they go about the story. The actors and audience will be able to interact. What exactly that will look like in real time. I don't have a clear sense of. But on their website the royal shakespeare company says quotes audience plus to get holders take on the role of firefly's helping to light the forest and interacting with their mouths track pad or touch screen the actors respond to audience interaction and direction making each performance. Unique and quotes won't many different groups around the world have been working on similar technology. The royal shakespeare company claims to have been the first to pioneer this technology for a live theater performance. Back in two thousand sixteen with their production of the tempest in that performance. The actor who played the spirit ariel was kitted out with sensors that were translated into live animation on stage enhancing the magical sense of the character for audiences as our a artistic director. Gregory doran said at the time the way the technology was being used means quote. The actor becomes the marionettes and the puppeteer at the same time and quotes old now. Almost five years later. Technology has advanced even more allowing them in partnership again with epic games's unreal engine to make more sophisticated of multiple actors plop them into a virtual setting and allow an audience to interact in real time. The show itself is not a complete play like the tempest was but rather a fifty minute experience. Based on the world of shakespeare's a midsummer night's dream led by puck you as the audience will explore the forest and meet other sprites and ferries from the play working to prevent an oncoming threats of destruction. If you want to experience what they're calling simply dream you can get tickets at the lincoln the show notes if you just want to watch. Tickets are free. You don't even need to reserve them in advance but if you want to be a part of audience plus get to interact with the performers. It's ten pounds. And i think you may need to actually be based in the uk to participate in that. Their site checks the compatibility of your device before allowing you to purchase audience plus tickets and no matter which browser device were vpn. Trying to use. I couldn't get mine to be marked as compatible so you can try it yourself but definitely you can tune in for free if you are not in. The united kingdom shows are march twelfth through the twentieth at various times through the afternoons and evenings. So even if you're watching from another time zone you may find one that works for you but getting back to the technology of dream another cool thing that they're doing that as you're on that journey with the fairies if you interact or the actors change things up based on audience response the musical score will change accordingly quoting again from. Sec dream features a symphonic score based on recordings by the philharmonia orchestra conducted by principal conductor and artistic adviser sullivan. The recordings are expanded by music. Created in real time by the movements of the performers this living dynamic soundtrack adapts and interacts with the narrative and the prerecorded orchestral tracks and quotes. I'm super fascinated by this technology. In terms of its impact on both live in virtual theatre in general but also as an interpretation of shakespeare and other older plays you know so often performances of shakespeare set in his time with stuffy elizabethan costumes and settings feeling so intensely old and uninteresting to many people but shakespeare and his contemporaries were cutting edge. They were innovators. They pushed the limits and once he got over the paranoia of this being the devil's work. I think shakespeare would have been really into this giant leap forward in live. Theatrical portrayals are a or director. Dora thinks similarly telling the observer quote this is a twenty first century reimagining of shakespeare's play which is giving us a completely different vocabulary of imagery. That's extraordinary when we did the tempest in two thousand sixteen explored the opportunities that the digital world could give to us. I really did think then quoting the play. This is a brave new world. There's so much opportunity out there. It says if technology is now providing us with this amazing paintbox. We've a lot of very exciting talent that can find uses for those new tools and quotes.

The Book of Genesis: Looking At The Book Of Beginnings

"Is the book of genesis. Well it's the book beginnings and so it's telling us what happened at the beginning of the story that is going to form the entire arc of the biblical story. But it's important to remember that it's not just telling us what happened in the beginning. It's telling us what god did in the beginning and so it keeps god as the central figure of all of the action and that can actually as we head into this Season that lovey. Who wanna keep top of mind because we start to talk about whereas in the first eleven chapters. We talked about four events Creation fall flood and babble now in the second half of the book which is actually much longer than the first half. We're gonna talk about four. People abraham isaac jacob and joseph. I'm so mad at you right now in this present moment because when you say stuff like that it makes me. Did you have that going into next. Because i have been preparing episode run sheets and not one single time. Have you said we'll call. You know the first eleven chapters are really four events and the next forty eight chapters or thirty eight chapters for people because that would have been a great line from somebody else. I mean come on. It's not like i sit around at night map in this stuff out. Yeah and i'm never up to snuff so it asked the story. Arc moves toward a description of people. We do want to bear in mind that the central figure is still going to be y'all way and how he's acting in the earliest recorded Stories of human history for us so But but again it's a book beginnings meaning that all of the and i think we said last season. The genesis is often referred to succeed. Pot of the bible is where all of those themes wanna see go. All the way through to revelation are being set up for us. So that's what we spent a long time last season and we'll do this season doing is looking for what are those. What are the threads in. How can we begin to see them with greater ease and regularity as we move into the rest of the scriptures us great so okay so genesis book of beginnings first eleven chapters four people. Next section. Twelve through fifty is for events but jt. Why would why would. Why would we spend all this time studying. Yeah i did just get it backwards. And i said it backwards. Genesis eleven four events genesis. Twelve fifty four people in residual. Okay so jt. Why would we spend a whole season studying genesis. I mean like why not. Just get to the good stuff in the new testament and just roll. Yeah so. I mean. One of the things that i i think. The lord's really teaching me right. Now that i'm trying to learn in my ability to be a bible reader and a bible teacher is to see how really the whole story of scripture is in those first three chapters. It's also in those first eleven chapters that we did last semester. It's then it's in the next fifty minutes in the pentateuch. The first five books of the bible that really when you look at genesis to revelation the whole story of scripture which we think forms hold disciples wanted list hopes in this podcast. Is that you just know. The story of the bible may be able to participate in be participants in the story. And you can't. You can't participate in the store. You don't know is that they would see they would see that. The story of the bible really finds its seed form all of its hyper links through the rest of scripture. Here in the book of genesis genesis. I don't want to say that there's any book that's not foundational. We love all sixty six. The bible not including third corinthians kyle but all six bucks at arrival We we need to know. We need to love. Because god has put treasures there for us. But i i i do wanna say this carefully. Genesis is one of those primary pillar books that you don't get it right. It's going to be hard to get the rest of the story right. Yeah i think what you're saying. Jt makes sense. And i think one of the interesting things is when you read. Genesis is with somebody that you're playing and maybe you've also read a gospel or you're helping them read through the gospels. At the same time you start to realize that a lot of the the themes or the The images of the pictures or the the concepts of the theology. That's in genesis. And a really pronounced way is deliberately being communicated in the gospels and that those connections sometimes are really on the

How to Get a Good Night's Sleep

"You'll sleep isn't quite right harrison. Things i think might be helpful to just get things back on track and before we get into tips though i just wanted to say do you feel as though sleep is the first thing to go when we experienced any kind of stress for me. It's really good. And it's just an indicator that i have a few more taps open in my brain than i can adequately cope with and that means that my thoughts begin wearing at three o'clock in the morning or my quality of sleep over the course of an entire evening just isn't good enough and sometimes it can be just because i've got too much on my mind and this leads me nicely into one. So if you are waking up worrying and then it becomes impossible to switch off and go back to sleep or if you find it a struggle to get to sleep because you're thinking all the things a on your plate essentially then making a list of all of them making a list of everything that's on your mind before you go to bed might help. It's been proven. I've spoken to several sleep therapists and sleep. Experts said that just the act of making a list of all the things that you on your mind can take the magnitude out of these things that seem really big because you attach all the other things to it like. Oh i've got to my taxes for example. And if you don got to do. My taxes means speech my accountant. I get really stressed. When is mike has an all. Will he have time for me. All of those things actually making a less kind of gets rid of a lot of that chatter and just makes them feel much more doable and is also really good. The next morning right. That's my to do list. They were with me yesterday. They were my mind. I'm going to do something today to make sure that that's not worrying me tomorrow. And it's been proven that a few minutes of mindfulness can take the edge off and make it much much easier to fall asleep so if you get into bed you're white awake will now. What actually whether you use an up whether you use a prompt of some sort a youtube video just counting your breath and just slowing down your breathing. But if mindfulness whether it's guided or not can we really make that difference to just get in your mind and body out of that mode to. Yeah you know what yes sleep. The seem like a good idea but this is also one the idea of writing down your warriors the idea of organizing your worries into something that you can then work through methodically and logically. This is also what you can take a little bit of a run-up i wouldn't be doing it. I'm not talking about making a list bed but if you are lying awake thinking about paperwork finances or feel as though everything's calls nita's organized than actually some time in the day to do filing to file things properly to get on top of your admin or just create an organized environment where you know where everything is that can have a really positive. Knock on effect of softening those concerns when you're trying to get to sleep so okay. I know this might make me sound a bit weird. But if you're a long-time listener you'll be no stranger to that. But i leave my office night but only a my office being my second bedroom but i leave my every night but only once. I've made sure everything is tidy. So i my desk so i've got my record. I'm obviously recording right now. So all my recording equipment out of my wires everywhere. I make sure that then nicely neatly wound up and put back in the drawer where they are recording device back ninety degree angle on my desk and when i leave at the end of the evening i use my call brush to like clete to rake through the copy or vacuum the carpet and anything i've taken out or use during the day. I put it back to how. I would have it if i had guests coming over the next morning and mentally. It ends my working day really neatly but the payoff is the next day. I am always and i mean always delighted to what to set foot back in my office. It feels like oh this is this is a place. We're going to do really good work today. And i know i said you know. Make it presentable as if someone else's coming around to see it but i'm seeing it and it's important that i have that feeling and that genuinely when i wake up in the morning at i think goku can you office today. I'm actually excited to get into the office. So that has definitely been one of the things that i have started to incorporate in the last couple of years that makes all the difference. The second tip is this one might sound really obvious. but it's dope nap and maybe it sounds really obvious for me. Because i've been working from home for eight years and so i've learned the hard way but if you're working from home for the first time or maybe the third time if you're in the uk and you're on your third lockdown but if you now have been working from home for substantial amount of time since we went into various stages if restriction around the world then. It's definitely tempting to have a quick snooze when you normally pep yourself up with a coffee or sneaky chat with a colleague in the canteen or out for quick walk. Whatever but while we're living and working in the same space it's easy for entity to drop and to think fifty minutes won't hurt and oversee no one's gonna see no one's gonna see you have a quick nap who cares but unless you're a great napa and that awesome effective ways to make napping efficient and actually work for you but let's revisit those in another time when another episode then give napping a real mess so like i said i've been working from home now for nearly eight years and nothing is a very very easy to fall into trust me. I've done it so so many times. But now i make myself go outside and walk around the block. The truth is that my body saying oh we need to sleep or or wouldn't wouldn't not be nice but the truth is the thing that's going to serve me better. Brain and body is a stretch. Probably some fresh air or just moving around. Because i've been sitting at my desk for hours on end my my heart rates will be slowed down. And that's why my body's like we haven't done much moving. Let's go to sleep now. Moving around for a bit. Even if it's just in another room even a bit of yoga will actually support a better night's sleep or more likely likely give you a burst of energy so if you get that i that three o'clock low what you think all honestly i could just kick off my shoes now and i could just go and put my feet up on the so. I just have a quick nap. No i find. If i walk around the block i come back and where i think. I was almost ready to finish my day. I've definitely got another few hours in me. And it's extraordinary. How many good ideas pop into your head when you out for a walk or you're in a downward dog come on. Who else has been there where you at your desk all day even working team. I've got. I've got to have an idea for this or i've gotta to do this. And you're trying to troubleshoot something and you at your desk in your in work mode. It looks like you're working really hard. You get up. Have a cup of tea or take a walk around the block pops into your head. That's me clicking. By the way the idea pops into your head a little bit of movement london he makes the body feel good but can sometimes just be the little bit of the release. The brain needs in the way. That when you're thinking of a word and you think really hard and then the second you start thinking about it pops into your mouth that kind of thing. The third thing make a nest and i mean literally obviously but just make your bed the most comfortable place you spend time so that it's an environment that lends itself to sleep and this is really important if your sleep begins to go out of out of wack. This isn't just about having nice bedsheets about the lighting in the room the temperature. I know it might sound nuts. Especially right now because we're in the depths of winter but i from my window for about five to ten minutes before i get into bed because i love the air in the room being being a little bit chilly. So that when i'm under the covers i can feel nice and cozy and i usually fall asleep listening to a podcast on a very very low volume and i use an. I'm ask so. I've got myself sort of prompt in with Coin she pillows but you know how many close your own thing. But i have myself mostly packed in with some pillows. I put an moscow on. And i have a pug 'cause playing and i spritz my bed liberally with some really nice leap spray so i used the one from a remarked if i use the one from this. I loved the one from the sanctuary. I always put the podcast on auto turn off. Say that it'll finish the end of the episode that i'm listening to on it's rare. It's really read by more than ten minutes of a show so that really works for me so that is just an. I sent in the bed opening the window for five to ten minutes. So it's nice and cool making sure that my bet is really comfortable that i've light blocked out and i've just got something quiet and gentle to listen to. That will help me get to sleep

One shot dead as Trump incites a riot, storming the Capitol building

"Wednesday. There was no precedent for a president inciting citizens to storm the capital. And it's been more than one hundred fifty years dating back to the civil war since a large group of lawmakers gave comfort to an insurrection but all that changed after president. Donald trump invited his diehard fans to washington filled their heads with lies that he had been cheated out of the election. And that vice president. Mike pence could overturn the result unilaterally and pointed a mom of them in the direction of congress. What ensued was one of the ugliest days for democracy in living. Memory trump has spent weeks whipping up his supporters with false allegations of fraud in the november third election culminating in a coal to march to the building that represents us democracy trump who has refused to concede that he lost a democratic president. Elect joe biden had urged his supporters multiple times to come to washington for a rally on wednesday the day the us house of representatives and senate was scheduled to set the results of the electoral college. They turned out in the thousands to hear the president say they should march on the capitol building to express their anger at the voting process and to pressure their elected officials to reject the results. We're going to walk down to the capital and we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. Trump told the crowd standing behind safety. Glass the white house as a backdrop speaking what is likely to be his last rally. As the sitting. President trump exhorted his supporters to fight. We will never give up. We will never concede trum said about fifty minutes into the speech. Some of his supporters waving trump flags began heading toward capitol hill. Where unprecedented mayhem ensued. Protested slipped easily through barricades with police filmed allowing protesters through storms the building and entered lawmakers chambers. The certification process was stopped and vice president. Mike pence and members of congress were evacuated lawmakers and staff members. A fourteen year veteran of the us air force was shot and killed trump flag hung on the capital. The graceful rotunda reeked of tear-gas glass shattered the pro-trump mall took over the presiding officers chair in the senate. They mocked its leaders posing for photos in the office of nancy pelosi one with his feet propped on her desk. Another sitting in the same seat. Vice president mike pence that occupied only moments before during the proceedings to certify the electoral college vote on wednesday hallowed spaces of american democracy one after another yielded to the occupation of congress. This began as a day of reckoning for president. Donald trump's few tall attempt to cling to power as congress took up the certificates in process of joe biden's victory it devolved into scenes of fear and agony. That left a prime ritual. American democracy in tatters. If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore. Trump said let the weak ones get out. This is a time for strength. He announced his lawyer rudy. Giuliani said to the crowd. Let's have trial by combat. Trump told his morning crowd that he would go with them to the capital. But he didn't instead. He sent them off with incendiary rhetoric and watch the coup in delight on television from the protection of the white house as night fell. A capital officials said the building had been cleared but outside some way from the grounds scores of protesters remained including members of militia and far right groups as criticism mounted that he'd incited a riot. Trump was urged to say more by a trump loyalist house. Republican leader kevin mccarthy and some of the advises who remain in the white house for he's dwindling days in office. Eventually trump posted a recorded video on twitter. I know you'll hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide. Election trump said repeating familiar falsehoods. But you have to go home now. He said shortly after posting the video received a twitter warning before the company locked. Trump's account altogether trump's failure to rein in his supporters stood in sharp contrast to his attitude last summer when he threatened arrests in the use of force to break up protests against racial inequality. When black lives matter protesters would tear teargassed and disappeared from the streets by unmarked police in rented vehicles.

Jr pg and at some point. I'll be playing. It don't really know when that's going to be but that's enough rambling We did have fell. Calm day Twenty twenty winter addition and we got a few tidbits of information about the new legend of heroes. Toddle kiro no koseki if you notice the thumbnail for this Podcast are the two newest main characters is a third as well but these They dig use some high-rise resolution images of the to unsure why the third one was kind of like ashaari pow We'll get you later but still no names for these two characters but we do have a bit of information stuff. You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. If you'd like to see all those. I did put up a slide show video on our youtube channel. A dawning resides cuba. There's no spoilers going on in here. This is all preliminary stuff in the news story arc. So we don't have to worry about that type of stuff the ladder this latter half of the trails. There is about to begin. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. Supposedly it talks about wiz walt. The country established by those mejia's. They did it themselves to studies. The magic research institute But the the real kicker with this one and you can see it. Is this places overgrown. It looks like it was built kind of in the middle of it are on top of a giant tree. And there's just this tree just going right up through entire town is really cool again Trailer is how long was trailer of about three and a half minutes. Like i said in japanese so you can't really tell what's going on but it is kind of cool to see some of the visuals in action Four it but if you're elected shake those game out for yourself you can check out the demo for it It is now live on the east shop and One who feels the demo before its release will even pick up one hundred mine. Intendo platinum points here is the Short official description of the demo experienced the games at risk and reward system character strategy and stunning visuals in the latest braley default to final demo in this demo. The games four men characters are already other journey with jobson abilities at their disposal. I downloaded this. The other night. as if getting the switch away from my kid was hard enough with minecraft previously The kid did pretty good for Christmas and her birthday. And i now had to contend with her own copy of animal crossing so she and my wife can play two switches and who copies of animal crossing so they can will each other's islands. I know she also got the Spyro trilogy which. I really enjoyed those games growing up. So i can't wait to play those with her and relive those moments and she picked up mario maker to so. I'm not seeing that switch for a while. Maybe once she goes to sleep. If i don't have anything to play eck fired that demo. I would like to see how it is shaping up as will If you've got some free time and you're looking for d'you monster hunter rise. There are to say ten videos in total. Let's do a little no here. One two three four seven eight nine ten eleven twelve. There's twelve total. So i check. They were they were released in two packs. I take them all and made them into six long. You can do that going from Things like the switch axe gun lance hammer sorted shield heavy light bogue gun. Land is long swords and even the hunting horn. Over is from publisher. D three Developer felicia quite heard of them before. But still no word on it. I really hope they bring this over because it does pretty fun but yeah nothing Nothing quite yet. i'll go over some of these ones. That are just videos. There's a fifteen minutes of new footage from christ tales. This is previewing the present and future game play of it Remember this game got pushed back to early. Twenty twenty one. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Obviously you're doing with a system of past present and future while stuff can go wrong and working Just the way that you would like it to work New genesis the fantasy star online. To almost say reboot but definitely the new version of there is the opening movie for it and you should probably check this out. If we're looking at over fifty minutes of new footage as well mostly the character creation for its but this opening movie You know typically when you see these opening movies. They're using a pre rendered scenes. This was actually created using parts of the in game graphics. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. They got some good voice. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Twenty twenty one Unless you're in these countries in the no fast if you are but we are a western primarily focused podcasts. Maybe there's some rules preventing that From happening if we're interested in getting it on a closed beta for the game. They will have one for canada. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. There was a global announced trailer for it This came back It came back in march of twenty nineteen in japan. Dx and the They were supposed to come on japan on february twenty eighth. they have been delayed until march fourth. Twenty twenty one in japan. So if and when a western. What's going to happen for that. it's now going to be About five weeks later. There's my heart says one thing amonte says another and there's different things to have to consider overall ought to make that final decision here real soon on what that What was looking forward to our thoughts here are coming out this week on. What next-gen consoles really mean for audio

"Up on it moving on from there. Let's discuss three d audio for second is covered this. I'll probably do a video but dax on the ps five and on the xbox they do work it's crazy. They worked very well. They're very loud dax or again digital analog converters they take a digital signal from your usb that's pipe from the console into this chip and the chip then translates it into something you can plug your headphones into some better. Some are worse. The nice thing about bow systems is they work overall. They seem to pump out the right amount of volume which was an issue with the past consoles in particularly the ps four. I was also question. Does three d audio play through those as well as the tempest. Three d audio engine. Play through your deck and give you those upgrades it absolutely does. Let's talk about three d audio just for a second three d audio slightly weird on both systems on the xbox they do have a hardware chip for three d audio. It's very very impressive chip. But they didn't name and didn't bring it forth as something to really discuss where sony called. There's the tempest in gems and it is very powerful additionally you also have software kinds of systems. Dt s. you've got at most different support for those as well and what these do what they're supposed to do is not only help you with your normal stereo separation and you're channeling but with atmos in particular and others that are full three d. It's supposed to make you feel like the audio is coming from very different points in the game world and not just discreet left indiscreet right or somewhat muddy left in somewhat muddy. Right now the past systems did have some support. Like i said for. Disd ex As well as at most on the xbox on the ps five. You can't get this through. Hdmi be aware that the only way to get the three d audio effect that they're going for is through. The headset plugged into the controller. Or a deck. Why bring it. We'll because it's not the greatest right now spiderman has some okay three audio but the best one is probably call of duty when i was playing call of duty with the three audio both on the xbox and on the ps five which i gotta admit were about identical in their quality. I didn't really actually feel like the. Ps five was much better. In fact. I've talked to multiple people who play both and i don't think anybody does the for example in the second part of the first level. There's a helicopter that flies over your head. And if you have all the three d audio setting set on if you have a nice stereo system or headphones for the xbox or if you have your headphones or adapt for the ps five. It really does sound like that helicopters above your head. There's some really nice of the three and some effects which i'll start covering more reviews but as it stands right now. The big question is is the three d audio a feature that you're missing or a feature that they missed and i would personally say at this time. It is a feature that they have missed. We have not seen a jump in the three d audio really paying off yet. I'm sure we absolutely will. As these companies come more to grips with what's going on and everybody sort of gets out of that emergency panic mode which we see right now. Where a lot of these companies are just trying to get their games out there so that people can play them. I'm a big fan of three the audio. I think it's great. I have the three d. pulse from sony. Which by the way. A lot of people were assuming. That was a special headset. You need for the sony playstation five. You don't you do not need that headset. that's a normal headset. there's not anything like magically special. That's a branded sony headset. That they've made some adjustments to nevertheless a normal headset will work as long as it's not super high power requirements is long as you plug it into the controller or the dak. You will get those. And i think you should try it. You should definitely play with those and adjust them with the xbox again h just works looking at and sort of stepping away and looking at three d audio. there's an excellent gamasutra and g. d. c. video on on youtube game developer conference where you can read about gears of war and the three d audio there. If you want to really hear how three d audio is done well in a game go check that video out. It is a longer video. It's like forty to fifty minutes. But they cover everything from clues in sound reverberates bouncing different layers discreet abilities for particular surfaces to eat up sound phenomenal job in that video. You should definitely check it out gears of war.

Hey we have a lavatory, we detected there. during the Situa- we just talked about that the pilot did not have flight instruments as reference for flight therefore, the pilot flew visually. about one minute. So everything came back and let's see why is it that they ended up holding for a while they run some checklist or something that the deal oh, I think he was waiting for the weather to improve. A bit before they came in for their landing. Yeah. Sensible. Relying, his attitude indicators. And other instruments. Yeah. Urinate Visual Reference Yeah. That was smart. So you know you'd think that was this the airplane that was kind of Pretty new or was that another one lows? Let's see Oh. August fourth twenty seventeen. Yeah. So it's Relatively, new airplane Not, sure. Exactly. What happened there some kind of electrical. Weirdness apparently yeah. I mean a supply problem but the thing that really concerns me as if you get a supply problem to you main instrument panels. Avis or whatever type of aircraft urine you would expect perhaps to lose some. But the one thing that should you should always bail rely on is you standby instruments they should be from a completely separate power sauce. Often. Just connected almost directly to the battery so that regardless of what else you've lost, you've got something to go on to help fly the airplane. the fact that he lost his signed by insurance as well. makes me seriously concerned about the architecture, the electrical system of of this aircraft. If, they find a full of manages to take out. So many buzzes by all buses that they also lose their same standby instruments that for me is a major concern. Yeah. I'm wondering if if that was something about the way, the electrical system was designed and manufactured or maybe. There was some kind of maintenance done to the airplane and they didn't connect all the bits and bobs correctly. I don't know I saw. The aircraft should be so capable on the ground before they get on something incorrect deep rooted of self diagnosing electrical problem If they wouldn't have got to have on, they had known that they had a major potential right room with their instruments. Sure. So this is just It happens. On a bus of had some problems in the pasta with unexpected glitches which have taken out all the display units but never have I heard of an Airbus having a problem with standby simultaneously that that is just nine national that is not supposed to happen. Ever. But did apparently in this case, and thankfully, the weather was good enough for them to maintain control their come. We had some pundits who had enough skill to bail to continue to fly the airplane the even relatively poor visibility with. They managed to interpret what was happening to the aircraft in their Themselves and not get fooled and not getting a situation where they lost control. So fantastic

Trump demands reporter takes off his mask at press conference

"Take it off the president of the United States telling a reported to take off his mask to ask a question. Then moments later applauding another reporter for not wearing one those exchanges part of a rambling nearly fifty minute press conference a press conference that was really more political rally a political rally in disguise or maybe not. so much of a disguise filled with wildly inaccurate statements including this one about the handling of the pandemic. We are. An absolute leader in every way. An absolute leader in every way, and that follows the president's tweets this morning which he claimed he's getting. Very high marks and our handling of the corona virus especially compared to other countries and areas of the world. Now compared to other countries, the US is leading in overall cases when it comes to getting the virus under control though when it comes to having a plan, not leading the president continues to focus on a vaccine one that isn't approved or even available. We're going to have a vaccine very soon. Maybe even before a very special date data, I'm talking about. Well we know what that date is. It's the election day and yes, everyone wants a vaccine but we're waiting on that we know what works masks and the president really still not advocating it. That's not an absolute leader. The country again is at a crossroads there's an opportunity here for the president he can lead he can put forth a plan to slow down the spread of the virus. And most importantly, he can follow that plan himself or he can continue to undermine the nation's top experts like he did today when he disparaged once again, one of the only tools that has been proven to stop the spread of the virus mask. It's something that could also save as many as one hundred, twenty, two, thousand lives by the end of this year according to one influential model. The president. The issue of what happened when you were. Cleaning you're going to have to take that office. You can take it off your your health feel your wed.. Well if you don't take it off year. Old So. If you would take it off, would be a lot easier. A lot lot better. It's better. Better. The president. As you see, they're trying really hard to get Jeff Mason to take off his mask. I'm going to speak with him in just a moment moments later though the president was praising another journalists for not wearing a mask. Space on some of your tweets Do you you sound so clear? As opposed to everybody else where they refuse. Jeff Mason Reuters, White House correspondent is out front Jeff. This of course is not the first time that the president has tried to get you to take your mask off during a press conference. Of course, just on Friday, he was telling all of us to wear masks over the holiday weekend. When he's asking you to take that mask off. Do you think it was really that he just couldn't hear you couldn't understand you or was there a different purpose there? It's a good question. I think he probably does have a little bit of trouble hearing and I think having had a microphone there. If the White House had set, one up might have helped but I my solution was just to speak a little bit louder. And I think that that took care of it. In that case, the fact that he ended up raising another colleague later, who didn't have a mask on though does go to the mixed messaging that this president has employed on masks throughout the pandemic he did start to embrace them more in the last month or two wearing one for the first time in public when he went to. A military hospital but certainly for the first several months of the pandemic that was not a standard for this president and as you noted in your introduction. It is very clear. The science is very clear now that wearing masks and have a a huge impact. Yeah it certainly is I was really struck today in watching this press conference. The president really seemed to be using this time to air variety of grievances and what's fascinating too is that this was happening, of course at the White House and yet there were a number of moments that felt like that airing of grievances was really more of a campaign rally. Yeah. I mean the the president didn't have any other events today for Labor Day while his opponent was out campaigning although he does have a robust campaign travel schedule coming up. So it's not that the president is planning to stay home but he did today and he used the backdrop of the white. House. As the setting for news conference in which as you say, he went off on on many different topics criticizing very sharply vice, President Joe, Biden, and Senator Comma Harris for their basically. Criticism of him on the vaccine and also taking off a number of other grievances with regard to the economy to Russia and to the Atlantic reporting about his alleged comments about US war dead is it your sense and even from your sources at the White House that we will be seeing more of this briefing miserable takes you back to the coronavirus briefings right? which eventually stopped as we know because of some of the statements that the president made but are we going to see more of these? Briefings that are really just a a rally in disguise well, those those corona virus briefing stopped and then they did restart again shorter versions in the White House press room This was not that particular model today since he was outside and it was not. One of the shorter briefings. But yeah, I think on the days that he does not campaign or isn't out traveling for the campaign he still wants to get his message across and he has used the White House and use the podium beat in the briefing room or be it today in front of the North Puerto Rico. Puerto. Rico as a place to get that message out and he starts with several minutes of his own. Comments and then take some questions and that's what he did today. To, get back to your question. Yeah I'm sure I'm sure we'll see that again.

A Culture of Silence

"Hey welcome to the. podcast politics, race, and culture from a multi layered POC perspective I'm money. and. Joining us from Overland Ohio professor. Jeanette. Is Cultural anthropologist author and professor of Comparative American Studies at Oberlin College Hey Gino welcome to the show. Thank you so much for having me and thank you for being in Ohio. We need you and joining us from New Jersey. Also, very important state is Pam Gumbo spot mashes a veteran of foreign policy organizer and a senior political strategist. At the Working Families Party welcome. Pam. Thank you so much for inviting me. All right. So we are looking at a sad story, the story of Vanessa Gin. But we're going to put it into a larger context. Right? We hope everybody knows the story of. She's twenty year old specialist in the US Army who went missing from Fort Hood army base in Killeen Texas, which is about. Fifty minutes away from Austin. Right at the end of April. When many of us at least here in the east coast were in the throes of like pandemic insanity more than two months. Later, there was an extensive manhunt. Finally, there was a grassroots campaign led by let the women service members and veterans, and there was national each and the family was finally told that their daughters remains had been found with the backdrop of a global pandemic and you know this real. For Racial Justice long-held accusations have reemerged into the national spotlight around the military sexual violence in the military. Violence and how you protect yourself from other people who have guns and you're living on a base in the military and so many other intertwined injustices in systems that ultimately were responsible for says, disappearance and death. So Pam you've been actively involved in the campaign for justice for Vanessa is well is speaking out on these issues in fact, for years Gina You as an academic have written extensively about the military's relationships specifically with Latino and Latina communities. So gene, we're going to start with you talk about the significance of this case and what it's putting into the national spotlight from your perspective. Well, as you say, this is such a tragic set of circumstances that brings us here together but I think it's also really kind of an important opportunity to honor Vanessa's life and. Hannity, incredible activism, an extraordinary advocacy of her sisters, her younger sister Lupe and her other sister and her mother to bring this to national attention and I. Think. For me one of the things that. So extraordinary about this is that for some people, this is new that this is something that is surprising to people because I think for many people like Pam and others who are have been in the military know that issues of sexual violence and sexual harassment in the military have a long history. And Violence Against Latinos and the way that in social media and used media have framed this as femicide. We also know that this has a long history in our communities alongside history and our communities. So for me, this is a real opportunity to draw attention to things that we don't want to pay attention to enter really hold our elected officials accountable to addressing these longstanding problems that have is incredible impact. On Latina's and women's lives and on their families and communities that they have sworn to protect and that they have enlisted in the military to try to protect, and so I see this as a tragedy that is also a real opportunity. Pam Do you see it the same way tragedy? That's an opportunity from your perspective as somebody who served in the military what stands out about the importance of this case I. Will tell you. I. Organized Around Pretty Heavy topic sprayed ending wars, militarism violence holding the department, of Defense, accountable and when I heard about the disappearance, right because we can't forget that she was disappeared choose disappeared for months and I learned about it through Spanish language media and social media networks not through the English. Media networks and the sowed and devastating part is that Vanessa is one of thousands on thousands. And I think the social media explosion that happened with Vanessa that Hashtag shows you how prevalent this is what is different however, I do think that we are in a reckoning moment in this country where everyday people are no longer satisfied with hypocrisies. Yeah and what greater of hypocrisy than the daughter of an immigrant joining the military to give her life for what rate what caught my ear when I heard. Gloria. Vanessa. Ganz immigrant mother on the Spanish language news. She was very clear about what was happening. She said me e my daughter told me that she was being sexually harassed by a superior right and nothing was done. There was little to no urgency. has also done what often doesn't happen, which is she has not treated the military the Department of Defense generals she has not treated them with blind allegiance or ability. She has said I don't care that I'm a working class, Latina you're going to respect me and you're going to give me answers which is different right and I think that blind allegiance we'll get into it but blind allegiance to the. Institutions have really lead US astray and not had any accountability for

Traveling To London

"If you're planning a trip to Europe, you may have noticed that a lot of flights in the United States connect through London through. Heathrow airport, and sometimes you're left with an awfully long layover instead of wasting hours hanging out at the airport. Why not head into Lemon for the day we've invited. London guides, Steven Beck and Debra to join us and share their tips about getting into the city to make a damn it, and then getting back to the airport in time for your flight. Stephen, Deborah. Thanks for joining us here in our studio. So. Is it realistic to have a long layover? Let's see. You got a eight hour layover in Heathrow Deborah. Is it realistic to actually check your bag and go into town? Very easy. It's fifty minutes on the P- me underground. To get into central London and it's soon. You've got the the express. Heathrow express goes into. Paddington. Depending. And from there you've got the time outs, fifteen minutes, every fifteen minutes. So four times in our and you're downtown and less than half an hour. And, and when you can go into town, you can go out back the same way and just as reliable convenient. Yes. So Stephen most people would go through Heathrow, but it's also conceivable. You could land in Gatwick, London's second airport and yet because a good connection into London, a similar thing, the Gabrielle Express and that heads into Victoria in some ways if it depends where you want to be in London, but if you wanted to go to Buckingham Palace or Westminster that's even closer. So it takes thirty minutes. Okay. On the fast train and Deborah. No, we were discussing about leaving luggage. And building some time for perhaps maybe a delay. But you know an hour and a half, maybe a couple of hours. If it's got workings, if you allow that on either side and you've got eight hours. Yeah, you could afford in. London. When when you are going back to the airport as an American, especially, you should give a little extra time. I. Know The from the Airports in Europe, you have to go through security hoops to fly to the United States. Yes. Yes. You have to allow time also to get into, there's Gatwick Express but southern rail. One of the other train companies, they run a service into Victoria, which is about every thirty minutes. It's a lot cheaper than the guy he expressing takes about the same time. Okay. So there are ways to get quickly efficiently and economically into London a lot of people are stressed out by Heathrow because it is five terminals I. think generally when you go to and from the United States, use terminal five, is that right? Depending on the airline? Terminal to terminal five or. Four. Okay. So I've been trying from seminal three with virgin in Delta. Okay. If you're flying in and out of different terminals, how tough is it to connect the terminal? It's very easy. Follow the signs. It's really well signposted what about the practicality of your bags if you have a chance to check your bags through, that's the best thing. But if you're picking up your bag, is there a way to lock it up or do you check it onto the flight You can't even check on that early to a flat out. I, don't think they have those baggage storage facilities Bernardo. We're thinking about this and talk about this. Heathrow, at sint pancras up Paddington. South. At. The airport. Don't take it into town. Yes. Yes. Yes. You can pre book as well. Online. You can pre book to leave your luggage. Should save time good tip

Improve Brain Health

"I'm Mary. Mickley and I wonder how you are doing this week. I hope you are noticing. How your heart feels win, you encounter stress. When you encounter joy. When you encounter the wide range of emotions, we all experience. D Today. In today's episode, we continue with our heart rain series. Where you are discovering. How to manage the health of your heart and brain? They are so interconnected. In, fact I was doing a little research for this series and I came across an article by Harvard Health Publishing. This is an article by Dr Monique Tello. It's titled Green. Health rests on heart. Health guidelines for lifestyle changes. And she starts off the article. Talking about how? Right now the world is experiencing an epidemic. That is projected to get much much worse. When I read that I thought she was talking about the coronavirus pandemic. We are experiencing. I read further and she is actually talking about an epidemic of dementia. Of affecting fifty million people. And millions more. Of their caregivers Dr Tallow goes on to say that. These staggering numbers are projected to triple by twenty fifty. So in this pandemic. We are all experiencing. There's this epidemic of dementia which stress contributes to so what we're experiencing now. Is Not likely helping to improve our odds. To battle dementia. Dementia is a progressive heartbreaking deterioration of brain functioning. Associated with aging. And there are different causes of dementia, the most common Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia Cz. Are, now thought to be closely related to and impacted. By this same diet and lifestyle factors that you follow for your heart. So you. Heard. Physical exercise such as hundred and fifty minutes per week is one of the number one ways to combat dementia and also to protect your heart health. Eating a plant based Diet in this article. Dr Tallow explains is crucial. She says there's so much substantial research showing that eating a diet high in fruits, vegetables and whole grains, which includes some healthy fats and seafood is associated with a significantly lower risk of cognitive decline and dementia and also heart disease. So. Think about your diet and the amount of. You're getting. These are also great lifestyle changes. We can make to improve our odds if we happen to contract the corona virus. It's also recommended to quit smoking and to minimize alcohol. Use especially if you already experience cognitive concerns. So how is heart health related to cognitive health? It has to do. With conditions that clog the arteries of the heart. They also clog arteries of the rest of the body including your brain. So it all boils down to damage of the arteries. The blood vessels that are critical blood, flow and oxygen delivery to the organs. Reducing stress and making sure that you have positive relationships in your mind. In fact, there's other research that shows that. Your relationship are pivotal to your heart health and your brain health especially romantic relationships. If you're married or have a partner. These significant relationships in our lives impact our heart and brain health greatly. So take care. Of Your heart and your mind. By eating well, exercising by staying away from alcohol and smoking. And reducing stress and improving your relationships.

"Hi James How're you much better much better we? We actually tried to buy gas couple of weeks ago and I was. I was a little busy just kind of all over the place. It's like I can't it but we're back. I like to compare it to win. You're going through your IPO. And I think we tried to podcast wants Dan and we also can't it because it just wasn't happening and life comes and goes you're busier. Us busy and I was a little busy but not market. Yeah we'll welcome back. It's good to have you back. There are a few interesting episodes last time we tried. But I'm glad to be back at regularly scheduled programing. Yes yes absolutely absolutely. It does make the question. Then why are you so busy? Yeah well it's funny because I watch the new podcast service a couple of months ago with the Czech restarted daily updates whereas basically me reading it and that was part of the date updates if you already paid for the daily update you could also get a via podcast so there was a lot of interesting technical parts to that too. You have it tied in tracking and in all the different sorts of things that went into that but it was a station to my sustained business model but it wasn't something new so what I also want to do. Experiment with what would it be like to make purely paid podcast and again part of this is I was really proud of my talk about this? And how does trajectory is? I'm proudest of course but I'm also really proud of the business model and it really makes me happy to see folks pursuing this model and going forward and companies you know like sub stack wherever might be trying to build businesses supporting people winding this. I'm all for it for support of love to see them doing that. It's kind of one of those things where I once thought I would build a company like subject and then I realized actually I'm better off focusing on Chakri billion companies really hard. It's difficult Howard stern rather than Siriusxm. Some of those lines and it was gratifying to come up with this model. And then it's Kinda cool that anyone other people will invest in these folks to do all the hard work to build it up so other people can do it. Which is totally fine by me. I want to see this model succeed. I WANNA see it out there and so I've long argued in thought you do a similar thing with podcasting is so I wanted to sort of experiment and push out here too. Not just because I think it'd be cool and maybe make a little money but just because I want to see this model independent creator model and become more things and so I sort of wanted to see what else we could do with it. Thus the new podcast dithering with our friend John Gruber and three times a week. Fifty minutes per episode. It's short google. You know exactly what you're getting which I think is real sorry. I'm kind of rambling here. But it's become the genesis of the businesses interesting but I'm super interested also in the genesis of the content side of it. There's a few things I thought about it. The actual content and the look and feel and the aesthetic of dithering is absolutely a shared project with me when I speak about the podcast itself. I'm saying my part of what is definitely a two-part relationship so I wanted to be super super clear about that. So if I say me or I than that's just because John here and I'm sorta speaking for myself but one of the things that I've thought about is what does it mean to sell content on the Internet and I wrote about a little bit this week because you're selling zero marginal cost good your so bits right. I mean literally selling email and the whole trouble that the news industry has encounter in the content injuries encountered is. It's really hard to sell something that doesn't have some sort of marginal cost attached to it. It turned out that selling a plastic disc was a lot easier than selling. Mp threes right or selling a book is easier than selling tax on a page newspaper of actual paper. It's the actual physical aspects of that and the difficulties of producing it and disturbing it and getting in front of people that was actually the foundation of all these different businesses and wants distribution became trivial. An easy it turned out that that actually was bad for business. It was good for the sort of content producer as far as reach goes but as far as actually making a living. It wasn't so great after all so one of the things that I thought about is. What am I son? The daily updates am I sign an email that never felt quite right in the whole micro transaction thing. I've always been skeptical about because it takes a lot of work to produce something in produce Oughta work. There's no guarantee is going to be a pickup and then try to sell it and I'm not sure that that's a sustainable sort of approach for publication or sort of an independent journalists. What is more attractive is people that are invested in your sort of ongoing production of content. And this idea that I'm going to do this thing. And you're GONNA pay me not necessary for the thing itself but for the ongoing production of this thing. It's like the difference between like discrete and continuous instead of paying for discrete items. You're paying for sort of continuous production and the output ends up being discreet items but those are sort of worthless artifacts worthless in terms of marginal cost perspective. That are evidence of the ongoing production. Which is what you're actually paying for. I'm not sure if that makes sense. Eight does make sense but let me grounded with another example from we've talked about. This was when you describe this model in the context of local news. You would pay someone to go. Collect the local news for you and reported but some days they might report well. There's actually no news today and you still pay them because you're paying for the piece of paper or the email you paying for the process of them to go out and do this and you need to pay them in such a way that they can reliably make a living doing it. That's exactly right. That's a perfect example like I'm paying for them to do the work to tell me that nothing is going on right like it's the effort that I actually want and I want the output from that but it's almost like if to integrate the effort with the output instead of trying to sell these discreet output items. It's all one package. You'RE PAYING FOR THE ENTIRE PACKAGE. And so you take that and you apply it to a podcast. Well what's a problem with some podcasts? I mean we worked very hard to keep our podcast to about an hour and it's kind of predictable and sometimes we go along and we feel a little sheepish about that because you want people to if they start expose know about how long it's GonNa take and say something that our Fred. John has been a little less disciplined about like fuck has to go an hour to two hours three hours or whatever which is fine it works for him but if you're purchasing something that feels overwhelming on one hand and other hand you want to get something for your purchase right and so this is one of the ways. We arrived at this idea of three fifteen minute episodes a week. It's exactly fifty minutes. Every single time is three days a week. It's very well defined exactly what you get and I think that's an important piece of this business

Well spend less except for staying at home. So we're here to give you a little bit of inspiration today. Talking about one of our favorite places and the place that has the brewery of which which travis sporting the hat from this brewery. So heather hates this hat. I don't know why I love it. she hates it. But we're going to British Columbia today with you and this hat is from a story in British Columbia right outside of Whistler Coast mountain represent so I figured she said tribe. Your hair looks awful. Go put on a hat. So this is what I hate that. Trav- your hair looks awful. Go put on ABC. Wait a minute make us on her. Might just relaying. What happened five minutes before play guy either way quarantines getting us? It's getting a lot of time spent together and you know we somewhat too much time. We're used to spending a lot of time together but court excuse me. Quarantine is a little bit of a different animal. I do not hate the hat. I hate this. You literally said I hate this head a little too flat for me but anyway regardless British Columbia and we love the breweries in British Columbia. Yes today this is part of our quarantine. Diaries session so you can watch us on. If you're watching it then you get to see that if you're listening on the podcast and you do want to see our faces our situation and see what had a might wear for the next one. You can go do our instagram at extra packing peanuts and check it out there. So these are shorter. Form unedited podcast. That we're putting in addition to a regular Tuesday longer form podcasts. So that you have more wanderlust more travel love in your ears during the quarantines as we all go a little bit stir quarantine that's like during the quarantine it is now. I think a proper now. I think it should be Catholic. Quarantine entreprenuering quarantine and so what we've been doing recently and what we're going to do today is our best of series and this is where we pick a destination today. British Columbia Heather has a few card down there. She mixes them up and then she asked us and we don't prep for this at all. What our best memories of this specific places so today. We're doing a whole province and it's GonNa be hard because we spent a lot of time in British Columbia and we've gone all around British Columbia. Obviously we spend a ton of time in Victoria. Think Hoover Islands part of British Columbia? Spending time in Vancouver. We've been up to whistler. We'd been out to the Okinawa Gin. So it's going to be hard to pick somewhere places but hey that's what happens. That's the tough job of being travel. Podcast SO WE HAVE DESTINATION. Diaries and we have one. I'm pretty sure on Vancouver so we don't have one. I think on the whole of British Columbia. So you'll be getting some new content here with this little mini series. And I guess we should just jump right in. Let's do it okay. The first card is oh how appropriate best during so. I've been thinking a lot about this. And she told me redoing British Columbia literary four minutes ago and there have been a lot of places that we've drank at Including Vancouver we one time. We're in Vancouver for twenty one days and I did twenty one breweries and twenty days and I was pregnant so I did zero breweries. I mean I went to them but yeah so and we've spent a lot of time in Victoria. And some great wineries out in the Okinawan and all but for me. I think it will come back to a beer. Coast Mountain honorable mention and because of the hat. Awesome little brewery up in squamish tackling games. Garmisch just south of whistler fun little place cool like everything wanting to bury small little joint. That heather actually stayed in the car because again. I think you're pregnant at that point and she took a nap. I just went in and had a little flight by myself. You know really neat. People could be the coast from the brewery. No but it's called coast to Coast Mountain. Which is also a weird name. My name like it's just a weird. You're just taking two words and putting them together but it works and I love the hat and I'd like to branding but my number one favorite. So it's not honorable mention. Okay right you told me that we could go longer than fifteen minutes. Because now we have a compressor so we can put it on. Igt No if you read our post from last week. But I had the hardest time trying to get our videos out because if you video over fifteen minutes you have to do it from your granddaughter and it has to be an MP anyway. It was a whole long saga. But I bought the software. Because what does one do? I mean we needed. We needed to get the videos to you. We needed to get the videos. You so then Heather told. I said we are GONNA be fifty minutes is going to be hard for British Columbia said. Oh no no we got we got the compressor we can do want so. My overall favorite drink is strathcona brewing in Vancouver for two reasons. One Strathcona brewing itself has really good beer. Super Cool brewery really hipster in in like a gentrifying neighborhood for sure but they also at the time we were there and I'm not sure if the guy still does this but there is a gypsy. Burr call who runs a Burri called superfly. Meaning he doesn't have his own brewery brews at Strathcona and comes up and bruised. They're apparently lives in a van. No joke down by a river and then comes up to strathcona debris here and there and this was two years ago so things could have could have changed this super flex beer is awesome so they sell super flex at Strathcona brewing and their beers incredible and then bring has their own beer and their beer is really good too so those my if you want the best drink we've had in British Columbia head to Strathcona brewing. Try and try to get your hands on superfly which you can get in grocery stores and convenience stores to

Presenting Remotely In The Age Of Covid19

"Thanks for joining me today. Debbie thank for having this you know we are in strange times and this is For me I think a huge topic as people trying to figure out how to overcome some of the challenges of now suddenly working remotely. You know it's like a whole new world so I I'm wondering if you would talk a bit about how presenting remotely is different from presenting. Lives right well. First of all Presenting remotely has the technical challenges as you can imagine People get a little nervous especially the first or second or third time. They're doing it because not sure they can be heard. They're not sure they can be seen. Which means you should get on the the presentation fifteen minutes earlier to make sure everything's working the way you want it to do just as you would get to the site of a presentation earlier so the key thing that. I that I have deduced is. It's really different about presenting remotely versus presenting live. Is that if you're presenting remotely and you need to use visual aids to accompany you as most of doing business presentations. Typically you're using powerpoint or keynote or Presi in order to help make your point in order to to explain what it is. You're talking about to persuade your audience. When we've done that live traditionally. We may know that our slides aren't terrific. We may know that they're really not an aid for the audience. They're really more of a crutch for us as presenters. But we've let it go because if were good enough at presenting. We can overcome bad visuals folks because we're lives and so the audience can ignore the screen behind us and just pay attention to us or the audience. As you've told me in the past that you do when you're seeing a presentation that requires a lot of reading. You read this slide first and then pay attention to the speaker well if Speaker Yep if the speaker is just in a little box down at the bottom right hand corner of your screen or in some cases. You can't see the speaker at all. You're just looking at the slides. The speaker really has no No well certainly has no physical world to play because you can't see them and even if you can see them in there in the tiny little box in the right hand corner. They're playing a tiny little little role at the bottom of your screen and the right hand corner and now your slides and taking center stage and because of that it Nell be. Who's you to take a big deep breath and and and recreate slides? That actually will be a visual aid for your audience and not cue cards for you. Wow that's huge as making me new. I have to go back and reduce videos so okay. Sorry it's okay. You got a time exactly the good rating. That's the good news all the time. We spent driving to work all the time. We spent quite frankly getting professional closing on on days. We're GONNA sit in our officer or in our cubicle. All of that time is now hours. And that's time that you really really really should be spending on editing. Your powerpoint decks or your keynote presentations. You need to look at them and say to yourself. Okay I've known forever that these really weren't optimal and now I. I can't let this go any longer because I can tell you that you present virtually and your slide are bullets with tons and tons of taxed. Your audience is absolutely positively going to read it and then go back to what they were doing and if you have to download the presentation ahead of time and so they can read it ahead of time. They're not even in a show up or if it's mandatory to show up. They're going to have it on their screens so the think they're there but they're not gonna be there because there's no reason for them to be there because you are superfluous. You are not added anything to what your slides are telling them right. So so. The solution to this is as follows. You need to create slides or visuals. If you're in keynote or pretty. Your visual cannot be self explanatory. Every one of your visuals should have what I call the Factor the audience should see slide and think They should not be able to understand the slide without you to explain it and even more than that or coupled with that you should be feeding them this information that they cannot make sense of on their own one piece at a time and that's why God invented animation with powerpoint so that you can feed it to them one bite at a time so that people don't get overwhelmed so that we know that they're looking at what we want them to be looking at so that if you're so for example let's say that you now have to Do Training about About about A website or you're a bank right and you're going to be doing training for virtual colors or your virtual customer support and these are New People coming on board. And they don't know how the screens work and you're going to teach them how these screens work my advice when you share your screen rather than sharing screen actually for education purposes. I would do screen shots of the screen and put a circle around the part of the screen that you want them to be looking at. You know when you're talking about here's the field where you enter the customer's name. You put a circle around that field so it really draws their attention to what you so you're and you're in control of that then that's exactly right. Yeah that's interesting and by the way everything that we're talking about holds true when you are delivering a live presentation. You should still be delivering a live presentation using these tests. But when you're doing virtually it it just becomes exponentially more critical that you you follow these these rules that I'm talking about or or use these tools that I'm suggesting because if you do that a couple of things will happen number one. You'll have an audience riveted. They're not going anywhere. 'cause they can't figure out what's on the screen and they need you to explain it to them. That's the first thing the second thing is if you if you build the visuals in a way that you know they're looking at what you are talking about because you're using animation to build a bite at a time or you're putting circles around things or squares around things that you know you need them to be looking at now. You have an audience. That's not getting overwhelmed or confused. And by the way it right now in our lives there so much uncertainty. There's so much fear that when we do get to present to a group the last thing we want to do his layer on all that and using them right we can find a place for an hour or fifty minutes where we can provide education or or comfort or Frankly even convinced someone that what we're proposing is a good idea for them and that's a gift

Sony Clarifies PS5 Backward Compatibility

"Did mention sort of the one substantial actual bit of PS Five News. We got inbetween shows of course covered Mark Sunnis in-depth tech talk about the PS five. From last week that was originally meant to be. Gd Talk so if you didn't check out that episode you go listen to last week's to figure our thoughts on that a very complex discussion but after the fact. Sony updated their playstation blog. Post about this not once but twice to clarify some of the backward compatibility confusion that stemmed from was unclear about mark. Sunni's fifty minute long explanation. What could possibly leave room for clarification? Of course no. It was very buttoned up into the point and nothing uncertain for fans know there was some Scuttlebutt even having Turnley about whether or not cerny was discussing the fact that all of the library would be backward compatible and only one hundred games would be available launch or if only one hundred games would be available in the PS fives boost mood from ps four or some other combination of. Maybe we'll only actually get to play. Twenty Games backward compatible The update that the playstation blog actually put out was with all of the amazing games. Npr's catalog we've devoted significant efforts to enable our fans to play their favorites NPS five. We believe that the Omer overwhelming majority of the four thousand. Ps Four titles will be playable. Ps fought were expecting backward compatible. Titles will run any boosted frequency on. Ps five so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions were currently evaluating Games on a title by title basis to spot any issues that need adjustment from the original software developers in his presentation. Mark Cerny provided a snapshot into the top one hundred most played ps four titles demonstrating. How well are backward? Compatibility efforts are going. We are have already tested. Hundreds of titles are preparing to thousands more as we move toward launch. We will provide updates on backward compatibility along with much more news in the months ahead. Stay tuned. So that's kind of worrisome. Honestly we dug into it a little bit last week but it it sort of makes me think that That fans are going to be finding problems in these games that weren't caught initially by Sony's in house developers and testers because the if they're going through on a case by case basis. I don't know if that's how the xbox hard works because their message was very clear of just like all the old games work here now whereas playstation they're like what we it seems like they basically prioritized that most played once the most popular ones Which is good. It's a good start Indefinitely better than the complete lack of backwards compatibility. We've had them. Ps Four but It makes it seemed like to me. You're going to play some like you know. Sort of niche game two years from now and find a bunch of technical hiccups in it. And then you're GONNA ask them the patch amount and they're going to say we don't. We can't justify the time and resources to do that. Like I have the playstation now APP. I don't know where I might have stuck that in the folder that might be just like pushed all the way down the train from other games of playing before it Because it's something I don't really use a lot but it's also like they. They've changed up the languaging on that a little bit when it started it was just like a streaming thing and now you can download some games and so I think they really need to scream from the rooftop sue and not just for people like awesome people listen to show but like you know con. Consumer Carl or whatever like the guy walks into a store. Yeah I mean like right now. You can download. Ps Four NPS Games and play them off line. And that's not really the thing that I think they're shouting about enough because I've thought about man. I would love to revisit some. Ps Two games. I don't have the chance to. I can download these re masters of the final fantasy games. When they're on sale but game passes get literally every remastered final fantasy game from the past like two generations. So why wouldn't I just wait to play

And when they do their breaks are too long shorter more frequent breaks or more effective. There was another key finding the most productive workers did not use their brakes to answer Email check Facebook or text their friends, they stepped away from their computer entirely. It's good advice for all workers. And perhaps even for our children will may spend hours at the computer doing homework and then our staring at their phones scrolling on social media. "One thing and people are unwilling or unable to have a real conversation and debate. But I'm gonna argue here that no one even wants to or is able to learn. So this is the sort of funny viral story today, there's a teacher, and I hope we get more information about this now that this post has gotten more attention, but a teacher stopped his class. And at everyone all the students leave their phones out on the desk with the volume turned on full. And they recorded how many notifications the students got during the entire fourth period. So for me in school period was fifty minutes. I don't know if they're on a different schedule system or something where it's double that or whatever. But for me, it's fifty minutes four not that you're getting. But that's all right. I don't remember exactly what school ended at three eighteen. So the tally the results chart about it. It was it was probably math class or I think the point was here. I think he made it academic in nature. Statistics classroom. But they got the kids got four hundred fifty tax messages three hundred Instagram notifications one hundred and fifty emails, and then Facebook Snapchat group that one is Twitter and a couple of phone calls as well. Like, that's the that's the one reason. I doubt this data is the phone calls. What kid is getting phone calls during school? How can that possibly be who's calling the kids got like fifteen phone calls whose full phone calls? The only people could be calling them our kids in a different fourth period class. Against their parents who else is calling you who would be calling you. How could that many? I would think maybe one phone. Call maybe robocalls. I guess. So we don't know what grade and we don't have any kids. That's why I'm saying I hope we get more information about this. But let's say you take all those distractions. Adema divided by twenty five kids go with that that's an average of fifty two notifications per student and the fifty minute class. So that means one notification a minute. That's your student. You're sitting in a classroom. You get one buzz a minute per student. And if there's twenty five kids that means if they're not notifications evenly spread out, that's one buzz every two seconds. For fifty minutes straight. So that you put them all you turn all the phone on loud. Put on the table. Buzz. Buzz. Facebook. Email. Phone call on Twitter on to of one for fifty minutes straight. Try teaching in that environment. That's impossible. A teacher must ban phones in class. Right. That's an absolute must. There's no way you cannot ban them. So I used to be addicted to my phone. From time to time actually yesterday yesterday. The phone took me away from my kids. They got a one year old and a two year old grace turns one next on Wednesday. So me, and the kiddo is we route walking in the park before dinner. And I checked my phone probably five times in three minutes. Have you ever done this routine where you do the time? It is you pull out your phone and you look at it. And you put it back in your pocket. And you're like, I don't know what time it is still. You you you're so passively. Oh, okay. And then two seconds later wh-. What do we do that with my watch as well? Which is strange thing. I wonder why I don't know. Maybe it's just a habit that I've picked up. Yeah. I really do look at my watch like three times before I realized what time. Why do I wonder where that comes from? I was I was totally not in the moment with my kids until Jack came up to me and said is that your phone daddy? And is that your phone daddy? The door will. And I said, oh, you idiot to myself Jacksonian to why are you not present in this moment? What are you doing? So far away. And then I wrestled in the grass like I should have been doing all along. Why went to checking my phone at five thirty. It doesn't make any sense. So I get it. I get the phone addiction. And it's horrible. And these kids have it. And I'm reading responses from teachers to this, and it's pretty split as a couple teachers who say that's terrible and kids can't focus and pay attention, and it's the bane of their existence that after constantly tell kids to put their phones away, and it's horrific. And then there's teachers who are like bother great one teacher said phones are a great resource tool. Whatever that means, I don't even and the more basic, which is well, it's part of reality. And you gotta deal with phones. And you gotta teach around him, and blah, blah, blah, blah. Weird that some teachers are split about. I would be. You put a put a basket by the door, and you throw your phone, and there is no reason for it. You can go fifty minutes. He'll be fine. I got around here, but I'm not exaggerating. I'm not exaggerating on this. Actually, I want to come back and prove this more. But I'll make the point here. Among the younger generation the future.

"Everything settles back down to it's easy and comfortable. So, of course, doing something over and over it when it's easy and comfortable becomes a habit because it's not hard anymore soon as something it's hard, you need more intentions to actually do that. Because all your mind goes, actually, this is a little high prefer ease prefer comfort. So can I just want to understand that? So so a habit. Let's say stress eating like that feels like that is what you mean. Like sure that's something that will exist without effort because it makes you feel better. You're going to get hungry as a stress than easy. It's easy going to the gym when you're out of shape. Yeah. You know, just doing it a bunch of times isn't grading habit automatic. Got to do more. You gotta do more cues more triggers to make you want to do that. Because you know, it is like if you're out of shape, you could have gone the gym six months in a row seven month comes up your body goes. No, man. Yeah. Yeah. So those kind of habits they're called deliberate habits deliver habits are have is you have to will and cajole and goad and trigger self into doing because they're good habits to have. But they're not easy to implement. They're not like, of course. Let's go running in the morning when you don't wanna run. Yeah. So you have to have things that make you wanna do it. You have to have things like from example for me when I go to my office because I'm a creative person. I don't want to do things for the people in a funny way. Like, I don't want to you know. I don't have a team call. Yeah. So right on my computer posted in says who needs you on your a game, which is one of the questions asking here Janner? So it's like, okay. Needs me again, gosh, my team really needs to show up today. Okay. You know, what my customers been waiting for this thing? My coaching client over here needs a sink for me and it mode. I if I don't ask the question. Yeah. I don't get to work and a lot of people. Void the questions or the triggers or the things that would make them go to work. So I think that's really important. I also think that throughout the day, the world's largest study ever been done on productivity was done by productivity app and forgetting productivity out. But what they did is they have all this data, and they can associate how people rate their productivity. They can see how many tasks they check off and the checklist of the app, and they did this for I believe it was over four million people, and what they found which is what I'm teaching for very very long time. Is that the most productive people take breaks every fifty minutes five zero five zero. I've been actually their study said fifty two minutes I've been teaching fifty minutes forever. Because. Just you can tell if you sit in a chair, and you work for a while your body gets a little restless, but a lot of people up Howard through. Yeah. And now, they're postures compromised their mind and get a break, and what they really need to do is get up walk around. Get some water maybe to Yassa flow on the ground or stretch out lay on your back. Go walk quickly rather do ten jumping Jackson four Burke's whatever it is. But every fifty minutes is a great time to take a break. Even it's really just stand up stretch out. Get some water. I'm terrible closer everybody is what goes my phone when my but hits the chair. See I tell me about your phone is either weapon of mass distraction or can be incredibly powerful tool to keep you on track. So I said a fifty minute timer and almost one hundred percent of them. Even now, I'll work it goes up, fifty minutes, my Brian. I don't need a break. And that's the number one challenge. We will have I don't need to break and then the birth out. Yeah. And they never saw it. You actually buy recharge several times throughout the day. That's what meditation is so powerful. If you meditate once or twice a day at little recharge. That's going to give your mind break your spirit break your creative edge of break. And then you come right back at it. Even when I'm writing and you how you get an afar, I'm right?.

"They might have jets, but it was a fifty minute flight. So yet you still get Chester fifty minutes. They had the spinning big paneling propellers on the side, George Junkin blow. Flying. I five champagne to Chicago. I have a jet. That's forty minutes where your seats like timing. Oh, hi. Had I had to buy two seats? Really? Yeah, I had to buy two seats so I could put my legs. I have a video of it. I had to put my legs to the side in stick my feet out into the aisle to fit on this plane. It sucked for you, but I'm really happy and so did. So that's up in we trips to Poland. We get to pull into connect for flight and we're, we're coming back in and this one I'm in first class, you know, living the good life sitting next to my dad, and I got like the bed and everything so beds, first class. Now they get. You can put the seat all the way down and lay like makes smell a little bit. We don't know what does your dad the two seats as well? No. Oh, I gave him the exit row. Nice. I'm such a great. So I try to sleep for like I set an alarm on my phone and put underneath the pillow. I tried to sleep for like the first three hours of my flight. And I had thought question the worst flight attendant, maybe in the history of the world. So I'm sleeping in you get meals in first class and you get meals in Konomi too. But I don't know. I've never flown to Europe and academy, so so she's I'm sleeping like, got my thing on my pillow around my neck among other pill on my head. She starts poking me. Poke into the point where I think it was what. You could have been ignore like, do you walk right now is like no. Enough this? Oh, she's like I literally like because my dad is also like, doesn't have his eyes open. She's reaching across my dad and poking me. And so I'm like. So I won't. Our to fall back sleep. So this wanted to sleep for three hours. So she ruined the second hour of sleep for another hour. I wake up and I decided to watch Westworld on my laptop and she just comes in, I got my headphones in and I'm watching us world. She's just standing in the aisle staring at me. Standing staring at me. So I took my thing out and I was like, yeah, she's like do on food now. I will tell you what I wanted. Like I literally has like, is there a button. I literally eight right before I got on the plane. She was literally just standing there staring at me like she looking. No is an older lady. Hot..

"Copy selloff montenegro and the beach false were observed by there because that regiment was doing very frequent training flights with also these pilots from zombie and that's dr to affect the flight's actually started to say what is this would be very strange yellowish orange allies that would appear suddenly this guy and actually one detail that i can recall the time concert that's in any other case it starts to always fifty minutes after the training flights would spots so training flights airplanes would take off and fifty minutes later these phenomenon these reddish yellow ball would stocks to appear and devils many speculations what's happening there the headquarters was receiving these reports from the commander of the regimens before which was retired generals won't which he was the commander rather time of the regimen and the one point she actually decided to try to specs that's was so there are also suspecting that's maybe somebody is watching the airports so that is called somebody would know that their planes are taking off and that would be the explanation of this fifty minute gap so once you decided to go with the complete radio silence tell anyone about his plan to stockton you'll twenty immediately and she made decision and so they could see would this phenomenon appear again and actually appeared so somehow it's always know when they're flying again wendy's fifty minutes gap would bash so he tried to intercepted but we have to consider that this was coco it was subsonic crew lights airplane so the maximum speed was about eight hundred kilometers per hour and she couldn't do much they secret doubt that they put 'em approach this phenomenon beyond ten minutes are about six miles roughly so they had to make a decision because these phenomena was really tuning them at was affecting the wide spills pilots were speculating bringing all sorts of problems and they decided to ask the self righteously for help and that's actually reminded me about day to programming christopher mellon whereas you mentioned also when these incidents happening around strike groups they had a plea for shop right should investigate this stay connotes right yeah and they ask the help from elites the airplane units which was located around belgrade's on the military airports but i need sun and they're they have make twenty one right supersonic airplane completely different domain now and they requested for airplanes to come for help so they could quebec on the specs what happening there and they received special mission and i actually i was the first guy who actually located and discovered to from that special mission which were even mommy and even it was not easy to locate them but i was somehow with good connections they gave me the number and even wellrespected the she also is a counselor in vietnam on the flight simulator post although he's retired but she's still watching oxy's job and the so i was able to interview human she explained to me everything was wisconsin so they actually received orders to intercept and shutdown if possible this ufo of the story codes and rights and the day flew from belgrade and seems to a secret mission they flew very low so they would sort of sneak there so because these phenomena was all this leading no these spend their happening somehow always knew and the first day when they arrived so david ready and again they the first group of fair plants with again to cough these was these training air flights and these were now the base so the job their job wants to being the air around again sixty minutes when the phenomenon appears they would land and then the supersonic makes went you would take over the situation exactly that that was what happens again so the training group lance and now even takes off rides and the she's planned was that she will not fly too fast because again they knew that they couldn't approach closer than six miles so he's flying steadily with sorts of subsonic speeds and as soon she approaches six miles then this his moments now right so he has a plan she turns on the after burners and immediately makes takes off with very now big speeds towards the phenomena actually she's plan worth sweaty soon cables in the range of the term a cape thirteen rochester within for red homing navigation and she heard the tone in their plan that was the signal that day that she has walk and that.

"It's fine yeah like that's a huge issue because of this character is supposed to be us and this is who we create in the beginning but you don't relate to them it's not like garo right girl is girl he is who he is so it's not like we had some sort of super personal to what he said what he did because we knew that we weren't really supposed to be him but we are supposed to but you could you could you could as girl like make minute changes absolutely how lenient he was very that's a good point i think though because he was already established character but the i don't know maybe via has their own personal back story that makes sense why they talk and say these things we don't know obviously we just kind of got thrown into this fifty minute demo that you sort of like remember dragging origins where you pick very basic like trait backstory elementary like oh what's the defining moment in your life so it was killed or you join the circus whatever not not apples obviously but yeah it's it's stuff like that that you can pick but otherwise yeah i just feel like the dialogue felt very forced to me that's exactly yes the other concern that i had because i walked away from that demo and the only character design i could really remember was the cultists so there are these cultists that you come across in the demo where they have essentially become so obsessed with technology that they have replaced most of their body with with machinery so they're mostly robots this point knew st kind of their face and it's mostly just it's just robot like your your main buddy throughout the demo p looked like literally i could have been anybody don't know him from tom and then there's another lady in the democrat comes in later who's supposed to be working for this corporation and again i'll just like i feel like a lot of these designs just feel super i think i walked away from that demo thinking generic this feels like a generic sifi game and that's what was kind of freaking me out a little bit because everybody else was giving you know tens or like this is the game of the show or whatever but i just felt like maybe i was crazy i don't think you're crazy your opinion is your samer and you are entitled to it and some i don't i don't think i think the feeling of its generic sifi game i mean from what i saw i was pretty much hooked and it takes a lot for me to be hooked on a game like this i was really interested in the world i wanted to explore i wanted to meet some of these characters i wanted to look at the crimes emails unfolding to the left of me and see what happened there i wanted to immerse myself with in this world but i think what may have happened and i could be wrong is that you had read everyone's tweets and their praise going into this demo and i think your expectations were just completely through the roof and i know for me personally if i have expectations like that going into something you just look at it like super different lens whereas i just went into slightly hung over i'm like i've heard i've heard good things about this game that's not to take away from the fact that i still think the demos extremely impressive my hung over nece had nothing to do with like me liking game more i'm just saying either i went into it expecting something good and what i got was something great yeah i wouldn't thinking like this is going to be some defining thing and again i think the tech was very was pool technology part of it great awesome but to me that's not why would play an rpg i'm not gonna play an rpg because there are no loading screens i'm not gonna play in our pg because my brain with the wind has just turned off but you know those aren't threes the technology isn't why i'm playing does game when i'm playing is for the story and the layered and you know yeah being able to explore and discover things and so i think i was kind of a mmediately turned off just because of the way the character was speaking and then the rest of the demo just kind of like hoping that the dial would somehow get better yeah didn't know it's something that i.
