"Because you know i was. I was battling with outrace all week. Leading up to and just went was the favorite in absolutely burned by a horse. Who i thought. I had a chance stepping turns because after the present. I said she's gonna love to turns. Well she did that. That's why lighter on the cutbacks. To teach is probably best running longer gets to give save for curls catch with that pedigree saint crazy beautiful with her pedigree and running style. No foil jack's page i. I did tell him earlier. I think a goes for as the best ability. She was by far the most impressive going one. Turn one mile on bass fault in turin. Really well in the doubles all. And i think she has the ability in in a tactical. Eat to be able to do that. But at the day in against them all in hopefully can get lucky with audios. Tricky with a with a wire-to-wire score now moving onto the next race Race thirteen the very one. Six is a mile and three sixteenths Stake off four females. And not really something that you see to common This early in the year You know these are not Obviously the greatest phillies in the affiliate mayor turf division but You know this is. The race is fairly wide open. It has some some interesting horses in here. You've got antoinette who wanna race at this distance saratoga oaks last summer so you know She's probably going take a lot of money in here and you know if you're if you really liked that effort which i know that there are probably going to be a lot of people who did she's horse that you can look at in here but i'm looking to a different horse Heavenly kirwin who is coming out of a pretty disappointing last start but she's going to be cutting back in distance and i do like that a little bit and you know the thing that really sold me on. Her was the fact that i picked of almost earlier and she was was beaten five and three quarter lengths of by heaven. Emily curling In a great three the maple leaf at woodbine going a mile and a quarter on the all weather You know again you can say it's the all weather but i thought that that was a fairly impressive effort for her. The effort at gulfstream didn't really go to all. But you know. I liked the efforts would bind for that reason. A bit of a bombs away thing in here. I know that she had that but is going to be running on a surface. We didn't really do to offer her last time but you know i'm going to take a shot and say second time on the turf. She's going to be able to do it. I could be completely wrong here but Eric said his latte last eric's bombs away. I'm going bombs away with a horse. Who has run on. The all weather had some very impressive stakes wins and Did beat a horse. Very impressive that i picked earlier on this. This is a if. I don't know if this really counts as bombs away but in my book. This is where i'm going with that in this race. I'm going to be honest. This was the easiest race the weekend for me. This is one hundred percent by most competent picks of weekend. A lot to some the words. I will give out my pigs in a moment. The nine were like goddess. I-in very very confident in her on. I'm not usually this confident when it's anyone even heavy but she has done nothing wrong in her to race career news all asphalt. She's coming off a layoff. She has not had a ton of works into this racing. Enough to be thin by dumont standards could their concerns to be had. But when you walk. When i watched her wrist she is just electric in the distance is one hundred percent. Her best friend here on my own three sixteen is probably in between which he loved that. That's awesome in between the distances that she's a one actually broker meeting going a mile in an ongoing amount breed. So you had to cut back. But i do like that. Because longer-distance awful. They're probably can get a little tired. So i don't think that's going to be a concern for her She the best thing about her though is under two wins they went one intermediate at one. Fifteen for three quarters when she was coming from second last eight links off lead and she won't find herb easily easily or an extra one twenty three fifths for three quarters of boundaries at churchill she close from last you know. Six eight links added one by three easily. That's which does not matter. She is just a supremely good horse in my any Speak very highly over. But i think she has that talent in the kick and i don't think many circumstances could be her allowance just biggest concern. But i don't think there's or some more competent in this weekend and now we're gonna move onto the feature race of this card the fountain of youth fifty kentucky derby points on the line for the winner this race and this is a race it has a ton of horses in it that have kentucky derby ambitions. Obviously you have the holy bull winner. Greatest honor as well as a prime factor who was the favourite horse In the holy bowl a lot of people expected to see him do what greatest honored did. Excuse me. I think that you know airtime to this. Last time i think prime factors going to improve and i do agree with that. I'm not picking him. But i did want to make that point that i do believe. Prime factor will run a lot better. You also have a blue to it earlier. Fire it will. It is very interesting to see as well as drain. The clock So this is a race. It's loaded with stakes winners. You also have tarantino who ran a very good race underneath greatest honor and You know papa to is a horse who we. We have said on the show. Some nice things about him. Jen not really a wing contender for this race. But just showing that. This is a very deep very talented race Train the clock. Don't really love Him going the distance again. Prime factor disappointed that he wasn't able to beat greatest honor and ultimately gets down to kennedy. These horses beat greatest honor. I really don't think so. Don't love Far you know aris a little bit more optimistic about fire will on the dirt than i am. I don't love fire will Going against greatest honor though. And i think eric's gonna agree with me on this. Haven't asked him whether or not he loves whether or not he likes fire will against greatest honor. But i'm assuming that eric is not the biggest fan of this. Being the spot to try fire will in. It makes sense given the calendar. But don't really think it's going to happen on at the end of the day. I couldn't really find anyone who's going to be greatest on who was super impressive in the holy bull and like You know we talked about it after that. He's continuing the or progression even though Orb didn't win the holy bowl continuing that sort of same kind of progression as he continues to race in his career. Yeah So far it will give them to run. A fine race is going to need it more than anything..

Eric Fifteen Six one mile three quarters fifty antoinette four females last summer one hundred percent three second time five Jen eight links tarantino Emily curling Six eight links a mile and a mile

He has eighteen point so he does have work to do. If he's going to get into that derby field that and look it is still so so early we're talking about it's like talking about preseason rankings in college basketball right or or football i mean you can't until these teams start playing some games. You really don't know who's getting just look at uk this year right. Everybody had them ranked in the top five. If not in the top three things have fallen apart for uk. Here in twenty twenty one. But i i of look at. This is the same thing. Yes you have. Horses like rambler who sits in six fourteen points ran very well. Winning the outcome Last weekend spielberg thirteen jackie's warrior will see jackie's warrior pointing for the southwest in that showdown with essential quality next weekend sitting there. Twelve cockayne has been really impressive but has twelve points. Do we really know how good these horses are. Yeah we got a glimpse too but in horse racing in horse racing you have to transition that two year old form and continue your progression into your three year old season. So we'll find out when these horses get racing but trying to sit here and go through ceo. This horse has twelve points thirteen eighteen. it's really meaningless. Other than the fact that they have some points to their credit which helps them when they start running in these bigger races up the road. But you know again it's kinda like preseason rankings and some of these You know college sports. I just don't buy into a lot of those either but at least This is something that's in black and white and and they have numbers next their name. That's what it is right now and keep me in mind. "Too has the potential to win this race, but like a lot of here the seven ocean breeze in the Hor-. -SCONSIN are two very class tested phillies grease or wax timeout stakes David. WAS THIRTY IDOL OAKS. Mature Pretty well On. She's She's a winner going one turn. So I don't worry about actually. Cut Pinson et for -SCONSIN was second behind four. In the Beaumont last time out in to start to go one. Of our expert'll dams. Horse that hydrogen that rates back to win and I feel like getting away from four graces in the spot and ditching that US closer, and there's GonNa, be a lot of speed and. -SCONSIN is going to be my pick and hopefully just hopefully, a lot of money gets put on casual and a lot of money gets put hello beautiful and leave -Sconsin, not a very nice price. I could see it happening to other words as I will touch on quickly Monday. Call One of the last two races. Last off off layoff in keeping the, she won an allowance by three lengths, but I think she's going to be paced compromising and you love and compelling style won an allowance race at Ellis in her last star pretty impressively prompt. The peso she's could be benefitted by base, and she is by a constitution who just doesn't seem to be losing right now as higher and the last race we're going to get through today is the Ellis. Park Derby Fifty Kentucky Derby points on the line, and this brings back the very impressive winner, the Blue Bluegrass stakes art collector for his final tuneup toward the Kentucky Derby. Some other underneath him in this race, but ultimately I think it's art collectors race to lose another horse. Do want to mention Ano- door. Had, never, really you know we've been off all horses from the Breeders Cup juvenile since probably middle part of this year and Ano- door, no exception, his one race outside of Caliph One of his teammates California in the risen star was an extremely disappointing effort. He was better in the Arkansas Derby, but I don't see him stepping forward and winning a race like this against a horse art collector, and there's some really interesting horses underneath him a few that I would. Probably take over him in terms of underneath place. It's it's it's wide open in the sense that if our collector doesn't run his race, literally anybody could witness. It's very. Evenly matched to an extent. If, our collector runs back to that Bluegrass, any of his last four races. There's no reason he should leave us here. that bluegrass was ultra impressive. Some ultra impressive forces very big field and he he did it all very easily and I imagine kind of kind of the same race will play out here. It's at the end some easy horses, but then you have shared sense the outside. Indiana Derby last time out very impressively and but he was also second to starts back behind our collector beaten click. So we know are going head to head. Church sense. The step below. That does concern me just a little. Outside of that, you know attachment rate of pretty okay. Race in the Bluegrass US fourth and Matt. He's just he's always second third fourth, best buy places but he To our collector masculine Dr Post in races and with NY traffic. Skydiver also raises that that's nothing to discredit a horse for if you like he's GonNa be a maybe why force in this race, but he does make some sense of outbound fit and then one. Of course, I. Just WanNa. Throw out. There is the rowdy AIDS. Income don't belong in coming back from from Saudi Arabia in his last start one-fourth. It'd be Ohio Derby to step up from there and even other long-shot. Hubris. It those top two or don't really run their as they might just pull off the upset. So that is all we have for this week's episode. Again, like we mentioned, we've done it. We're GONNA have a ton of previews on Youtube. We glossed over this a little bit. We're going to go more in depth with the park service like we did with the travelers on Youtube both Eric and I, and we'll be back next week again like I mentioned Jay. PRIMM. PRIMM joined us for some travers talk and following this weekend. We will only have one Kentucky Derby prep left and remains to be seen if we even get any horses from the Kentucky Derby Trail in the Pegasus stakes, but that all remains to be seen. So we will see you next week or something by have a good one and good luck..

"Scott Sprint winner of name notary he won going a mile at Ellis Street sense big purchase price just fun to see those two to a chemo for a window with a nice young two year old who knows maybe we'll the breeders cup juvenile I came under this fall two other quick notes American Farrell got his first two winners of the year one in. Ireland wanted Japan, both Games are grid one winners So horse still gal four follow overseas racing and uncle Mo. he actually had a winner in the UK which is not very common but choosing how good of a sire uncle Moe's to have winters on multiple services across multiple continents and that's the last from the racist. This past weekend we're going to be moving on and talking about some of the races for this week and we're going to first talk about. Two of the stakes races at del Mar degrade grade one bing crosby. But first, we're gonNA talk about the. It's still ungraded, but it does have fifty Kentucky Derby points attached to. The shared beliefs stakes I did a preview for this over on Youtube. So if you WANNA go here, how super unenthusiastic about the the projected forces that we're going to get in this race because, there are six horses entered, but the best horse entered uncle chuck is like scratch and run in the travers stakes there some. News floating around the Ano- doors probably GONNA scratch for the Ellis. Park Derby. So I will lose two horses out of this race. But you know even if Anno door would on, it would only be a five horsfield none of the horses in this race None of the five had been super impressive to either of US at least publicly Eric has probably been a bigger. Naysayer of honor ap both have never been super high on him. Never Been Super High on the Horse. Is Probably GonNa be the second choice of the three point eight, million dollar yearling purchase Cezanne. Who is to for two but his two wins have not been great Adopt been great efforts for him. A thousand words. Also in here he's agreed to winter but thousand words has been. Seen better days since his two greatest stakes wins in the winter and then kiss today goodbye who knows with him he's a one time winner. But, you know anything can happen race like this ultimately as unenthusiastic as I am about Cezanne I'm a little bit more doubtful about honor ap being able to get the setup and erase this there. It's only going to honestly probably be the example of who gets to lead and who can you know I don't really think there's going to be speed tool and I don't think honore. P. would be. Able to get to the front in a race like this. So that's why I ultimately went with Sesana. If you want more my reasoning on in-depth analysis of these forces than definitely had over Youtube and check that out. But I don't really like either of these two favorites in here if uncle chuck does for some reason changes planes and run here, I will one hundred percent take him to huge in this race. I've kind of been dreaded talking about this race on the podcast because I don't have a lot of Nice things to say I'm a big college football fan and this is something I just thought of in my head and whole imagine some most people listen out there watch some amount college football understand what I'm saying. To me, this race would be like two teams from the American conference like. Central Florida in. MEMPHIS. Both undefeated in the conference championship game playing each other and whoever wins people would say they deserve to be in the College Football playoff and then when they get to the College Football playoff, which I guess is equivalent to the Kentucky Derby Right. Now, they get absolutely throttled by actually good teams that is kind of how I envision this this race right here I there's really no portion this race I like. But. I'm Kerry talent. Onery he's definitely the best so far that we've seen realistically. I really wish uncle chuck could win to kind of prove it these horse I've been very vocal about my displeasure grew it on t. with Cezanne those are really the two big ones. The other words I'm okay with but I know they're probably not much better than those horses So I'm just GonNa you know bite the bullet take on right? P. In reality I'm just going to be watching this race with with disdain knowing that they're going to win thirty employees impressively against that group knowing that they're not going to have much. Of Much of a say in the Derby outcome and the next reason we're going to talk about the other race that we have from del Mar is the one being crosby a winning you're in for the Breeder's Cup sprint. We actually recorded this segment yesterday when we did the podcast originally but Mackenzie scratched out so we decided we'd go back and reevaluate this race from the position of no Mackenzie in this race so even without Mackenzie this is still a very, very fun race Oh, it will be ultimately end up being nine horses but. Nine horses integrate one sprint at del Mar definitely not something to complain about, and there's really good horses in here underneath both of us were intrigued by collusion illusion. I ultimately went with Mackenzie just because I respected the glassy eyed. But now without Mckinsey here, it's not the collusion. Allusion is essential lock by any means but you know you look at him news four for four at sprint distances two wins this year he's been very good. He hasn't necessarily been beating the greatest of horses but that's not necessarily something that I'm going to knock him here in this race other than him also, I wanNA mention fashionably fast who ran second behind Mackenzie in the triple bed that was a very credible second and prior to that race he'd had a lot of winning efforts so. Fast as another horse it definitely underneath. Is One to consider considering there's also other really really good horse in here lexa Tony is another one that's not going to get a lot of credit because he doesn't necessarily have the winds. LEXA Tony usually runs. Some nice races he was scratched out of the Vanderbilt. Last weekend came out here. Be Ashamed to see what we get from him but even without Mackenzie this is still really fun race. Yeah really fun. If you want more my. Views on it then you can go check out my preview over on Youtube. But. Yeah. I go collusion allusion over Mackenzie, even before the scratch. I. Dislike how he's been a he's been running like that already has the win against older horses. It's really good now with the Mackenzie get a little bit more of. You know try to spice things of I think that wild man he's either going to be you know your second choice or he's going to be you know ten twelve to one I don't really know there's going to be in between but I think you'll be a nice price. I think people shy away from him because he's never ran on dirt. So while men Jackson I think people should consider and if you WANNA know why once again, go check out that Youtube preview I, I point out a lot of things that you can. Really..

"All right here we go. We're back on racing down today. Episode Number Fifty. We got a lot of stuff to get to today. Three fifty three fifty point preparations on the docket for this week. In one hundred Fifty Kentucky Derby points up for grabs three more horses will be on their way to Churchill. Downs weekend. There's also a bunch of other stakes around the country this weekend most notably the grade. Santa Anita Handicap. So we'll get to all those book. I we gotta get to the action from this past weekend in Saudi Arabia and the conversation is coming up at. I've seen it come up in multiple different areas is about the winner of the Saudi. Maximum Security You know that is probably the most the Kentucky Derby incident and you know. I'M NOT GONNA come on here and you know say that the Saudi Cup has anything to do with the decision that was made at Churchill. Downs or anything like that or argue that the disqualification now because he's one twenty million dollars. Saudi Cup shouldn't happen I I am not gonNA come on here. Make that argument I just off you know really looking at it. It's unfortunate that happened because maximum security is really just such a tough horse. And you know there's not enough good things you can say about maximum security and you know that raise really showed that maximum security is one of the best horses in the world and obviously right now. The leader of the pack in the United States for older horse. Right now and be really cool to see this horse competing for your old year and you know depending on where he goes from here. Obviously you know. They already mentioned that. He's not going to Dubai. But just where MAC security goes from. Here I'm excited to see that. And what he has in store you know. I'm sure Eric will have some of his things. Say about maximum security. But that's something not lost museum. Fortunate -ness of the disqualification at the Kentucky Derby. Because you know this is a really really fantastic horse for sure. I mean he's slowly and steadily starting to shed that tag of being the Horse Sector disqualified from the Kentucky Derby even though it will always remember that way. If you were to continue what you did last weekend easily going to be more remembered as one of the better horses heading into this decade in this early part of the century the obviously he's now ten million dollars in earnings in at this stage career. It's only getting go go higher. It'll be interesting to see where he gets brought back. I met in. Saratoga is kind of the midseason point. Four the connections there But honestly I think he's already cemented. His legacy added great horse. Just you know like cigar did way back when of when he won the inaugural Dubai World Cup. Maximum security is going to be able to say the same thing for the Saudi Cup where he'd be a really good group of Horses. I might add Definitely was not lighten any sense I think every horse for the most part Ranta form in the Saudi Cub ibew. Probably the biggest surprise people contend but definitely not be By a quarter of a lengthy Iran. Huge She's also in so many other horses from the race but maximum security Kind of a rough trip was definitely a target especially for teas on Mutual Gustavo. Louisa has had to get created down the stretch. But you work down in that. Horses has tons and tons of heart. I don't really know I've seen a horse. Who Does Not WanNa let him worse by like maximum security does. It's quite impressive. How this works bears down to every time he races and I just think I I I think we all know. He's in pre twenty twenty if he stays healthy yeah. That was another thing that I didn't quite get that opening. Bid Is the fact that you know. Maximum security did all that won the race while Iran Ortiz was basically writing interference. I made the comment to Eric Baxter. Excuse jokers still out there kind of looked like a NASCAR and now you can say all you want about. How you know. Probably wasn't the best rider. You didn't have good character of Iraqis. I thought it was a good strategy on his part to do what he could to be. Maximum security obviously probably definitely in this country If he would probably would have been disqualified but I thought it was good on his part to do his best to win. Win The race. And try to keep maximum-security away because I don't think I if you run that race normally maximum-security just goes by with the rules over there. They run category One rules which unlike in America the disqualification rules are if you preventing a worse from running their best race. You get disqualified. There is. That's worse when when you run interference or not so if mutual Gustavo Iraqis does dat but the horse wins by Lincoln half. It's not a problem. Give what was within the rules so it was a good ride? Bhai Iran It was definitely a little malicious. I certainly Jason Service not lease with IRA. Teaser was on the first things. He made a comment about after the race. In the in an interview shortly after On national television I might add But at the same time that's I mean the races aren't one you know like a track meet where you can necessarily go between the lane. This horse racing and that kind of stuff can fly to an extent maybe a little over the edge. I think especially when acting security job inside. I really started to hurt an inside but I was happy that I read never intentionally drew contact although he was doing some blocking like you said NASCAR ask He never intended to make contact which I think was probably the safest thing and when he when he knew the horses about to go by he kind of backed off on trying to get through so are running more interference so while maybe was maybe a little militias It definitely was good race riding on his part all right so that. That's it for this stuff with the Saudi Cup Stripping back over Cross sees out before we get to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks preparations that you want to highlight a Horse Zulu al folk who is turning into his own. You know I will highlight at about this point last year. This is were bricks and more bricks and mortar was not not saying that Zulu Alpha is going to be the next bricks mortar. Or anything like that. But you know he could do similar things to where it's very likely he's going to do similar things to what bricks and mortar didn't very likely that this is probably the top tier force in the United States. This year. You know at this point last year. Bricks and mortar was a great one Winnipeg World Cup turf and and then he had a great to race. I believe it was either at fairgrounds are one of the tracks Louisiana so to this point Zulu Alpha grade one winner Pegasus World Cup turf now. He's agreed to winner The Mac Ramadan down at Gulfstream. This past weekend. I think Zulu Alpha's in for a really strong really really strong two thousand twenty Keep your eye on him. Come for race like the turf classic the Kentucky Derby Undercard. That's where I would him go but not saying Zulu Alpha is an expert in order. But I'm not saying that he isn't either into Rena. Bricks and mortar was able to have consistent success last year is because all the worst is behind him weren't consistent. I mentioned on the show last week. That Group of forces that Zulu Alpa was facing. He actually used to be a part of that group they never were able to consistently put together strong back. That rates it's bricks. Mortar took it to a new level. Easily able to string together back Multiple consecutive good races in a row. And that's what God in his horse of the year title. And if these keep going the weather going is do. The wealth is going to be able to do the same thing last year Even though I was Kinda surprised after neier introduced the Turks Trinity Series that no horse really emerged from that as premier career force and to be chair. I mean we see that with Dirt horses as well on the on the Derby trail. They don't always shape out after the triple crown trail to be good and that kind of creates inconsistencies in the handicapped division like we saw maybe back Towards the end of maybe before the end of two thousand seventeen that you're got stronger as it went on but nevertheless China look into Alpa. Maybe like an expert in order. I wouldn't be surprised because once again the turf division isn't strong and If I'm going to throw one out there vitality is probably the best grass three year old male out there And I know. The connections are keen. Distract him out so he could be wanted content we know. He has loads talent. So at this point Zulu Alpha is primed at least stay home maleter force because so far. There are no challengers within a mile oven. So I'll also want to mention very quickly. Law Wasn't a good weekend for Dale Rome overall at Gulfstream. He does have a really fine horse in Mr Freeze. You know I talked about him. Pegues World Cup. That was a really fine performance by him. A second place now. He wanted to Gulfstream Park Mile. Go not to do by. He'll run on the good often mile I could see this horse is a horse could potentially get a great one win. I don't think he's a top older horse but he's in that second tier of you know very good horses. That could get a grade two. Maybe you know if favorable circumstances happened upset a great blonde but you know Mr. Freezes that kind of horse that you know. That's a great one race that is GONNA be a viable type horse. Probably doesn't win but he's still very fine horse so some good news out of the deal. Romans burned but on a day. That was supposed to be Denis's moment day. I texted Eric after that race. In you know I was a person who I've been on Dennis's moment since really since I saw him when the earthquake especially after Dale Romans on the show and I had mentioned that I liked Denis before I talked to Dale and after Dale. I love this horse. Something's clearly not right with Dennis's moment I mean you know there's you can lose a race. That's one thing and even. Dale said this. You know losing races one thing. But running last in Fountain of Youth Stakes like that. Dennis's moment is obviously better than running last in a stakes race like that so obviously something's not right with him whether he hasn't fully progressed from his two year old year or could be something physical we don't know They're never gonNA check that out and we'll hear from that one day they figure that out but something is obviously not right with Dennis's moment and he should be a lot better than that and we'll see where they go go with him going forward. I'm not overly optimistic. That he will get to the Kentucky Derby. He's still got a chance at one more preparation if they do decide to go that route with him but not overly optimistic. But there's still a chance you don't tug on Dennis's MOMA BEFORE I go to Mr Freeze del Romans. He said the still can't find out what was wrong with him and maybe he needed the time or maybe he hasn't taken that necessary step forward of two to three years old either way. There's a one more race to kind of prove that he's a derby horse that'll be wherever Romans puts him. I hope it's Bluegrass. That'd be the easiest fought for him and we've seen we've seen horses run poorly in the Fountain of Youth and come back and run a really huge race next time out. Addict of former champion is the first one that comes to mind is saying that Garam just other horses that performed poorly first off of a layoff from their two year old campaign. Brody's 'cause lost. The Tampa Bay became back. One the Blue Rask. So the IT'S NOT. How pressing is heavy from the Romans?.

"The music you heard just there at the start of the podcast is done by Ryan Stillman. Most of you have heard the are have listened to the show for well know that. But if you show Ryan still with me today Ryan. How's it going? It is an honor to be here now. It might be a fact that I'm negative. Twenty five in the racing dudes fantasy league. It might be a fact that last year I was the champion. But it's also a fact that when Aaron and I get together it is pure magic and this is going to show you. Do not want to miss because today we have for you. The annual mid season racing dudes fantasy league awards. Is that correct? Aaron this correct Yes yes what an opening. Yeah you're right. We do have the midseason fantasy awards now before you stop the podcast and say I don't care about their fantasy league what we've done is it's basically a Kentucky Derby update that we've wrapped into award so we're GonNa Talk About Fifty Kentucky Derby prospects during these awards. So don't don't don't quit listening to the show it's definitely a derby intensive segment there. That's going to be a lot of fun. That was your idea to do the awards. I think it was a great idea. And then also we're going to do some handicapping because it's still as a handicapping show the oaklawn pick four for Saturday. We're going to cover it. We're going to do it a little bit differently. First of all magic. Mike usually handles the pick four so we don't like to get in their way with that but again apologize to him this week because there's just no big race that we need to talk about the. It's a really kind of an off week before eight weeks of pure chaos for the Kentucky. Derby trail just really blows up. So we're going to. We're going to kind of steal their idea. But we're going to put our own little twist on it Ryan. You and I have not even looked at this pick for yet. It Okla part and the reason why we did that. We're going to go race by race and we're going to handicap on the fly so you can kind of if you're listening at the idea of this is the process that these people go go through win handicapping. Another good thing is with this. We're going to actually combine a ticket. So it's Kinda like find a friend at the track type of thing. That's what Ryan and I like to do a lot when we go because Ryan loves to gamble. He loves going to the track he doesn't handicap this on a daily basis but he also has a few. Just you know a few good horses to throw in here there. That'll help us cash. So I'm kind of like demanding handicapper. He's the guy that's GonNa try to help us build the ticket. We're going to go in together on one monsour ticket. We're going to spend a little bit more money because we're going to split that thing up the levite before it. Oaklawn is always great on the weekends. It's especially good this Saturday so that is also GonNa be in the show today. It's kind of a jam packed. Show for having a guest right. I mean you. You've really come up with some things here. Well I give you credit because we're GONNA see the process of actually handicapping today and we're going to have a fun time bag on our boys in talking about all of racing's favorite thing to do. Which is the Kentucky Derby and by the way it is heating up we got Charlotte and you just popped onto the scene. We've got some crazy stuff coming up in the next few weeks. We've got the San Felipe coming up. Right I mean. These are some exciting races in basically. It's Bob Baffert game to see how he's going to campaign the biggest amount of forest is I've ever seen him have with an actual chance to make it to the Derby starting it and let's see where we both feel. Things are standing with this league right now because basically our our teams combined basically cover the entire horse that you need to follow for this Kentucky Derby Trail. So let's see what the pros thank right. That's is is about. Yeah exactly so. It's really funny. That you mentioned the San Felipe because my greatest member of the sample memory of Philippi was when Mackenzie quote unquote beat Bolt. And then got disqualified. But it was the greatest memory because the race was because I saw you kiss a man that day I kiss on the head. I kissed him. I I made a big bet and I thought I'm going to the window in the steward said no sir and you kissed him on the head so it was a double a shot to my manhood in my fantasy league there. Because that just took me right out because right after losing those points Mackenzie off the trail and that was it so I love. I'll never forget that as long as I live. Sorry we gotTa do saw today before we get on with everything so Y You the gas. What's best he thought it? You go first. 'cause I got a great one I gotTa grow you go first okay. That's great my mind. Pretty cool actually. This is not something I thought it would be talking about but I got. I got it through a shoutout to the racing. Dad My dad right now so for for people that don't know and that's probably most. I don't I don't really talk about what he does for a living on the show. He's a basketball coach. And he's the assistant basketball coach at a small high school. Just about ten minutes ten fifteen minutes down the road and they played for the Conference Championship On Tuesday night and they want it so they were the conference champions This this team or the school has not won a conference championship since nineteen ninety nine. And they've only one two or three the whole time so this was a huge deal. It was a really cool thing to see You know the head coach has really a tremendous job. There are very to me very throwback basketball team and the fact that they are very disciplined. They play very under control. It was really cool because my dad has. He's been Coxsackie for awhile. He's Kinda coached football but he moved over to the basketball side three years ago. And the core of the team they have seven seniors will. They were sophomores. Kind of just starting out when he got there sue. Kinda watch those kids progress. I haven't watched a ton of action live but I have watched them four or five times over the years to watch them progress to watch him get better and better and better because when they were sophomores. They're all starting. They took their lumps. They weren't a bad team but they weren't great but now to get to the point where they're seniors now. They win the conference championship first. Time since ninety nine for that school was really cool. It was really cool to watch that so I just wanted to. Kinda give him a shot. I know we listen to the show so you can make you feel good. I it was. It was really fun to watch. Wow that is huge man. I mean honestly you shed a tear did you? I mean that's pretty. It's pretty big thing and so it was weird so funny you said that no. I did not because I. I don't have the emotional tied to those kids. Like like he does in the head. Coach does but yeah. He shed a tear after that. It was kind of weird I I went up and gave him a big hug as I was really just kind of just proud that they were able to accomplish that. And I know 'cause you know phone calls text messages after every game. We we talk about the kids. We talk about how they're playing you know. I know how much he cared about. Getting those guys any amount of success whether it be a conference championship or just you know. Hey let's win fifteen games this year. This mini goals but to to have the kids be successful because he cares about him a lot. He's been with them since they were babies so to speak as far as basketball high school basketball goes so yeah he did and he's not a crying man so it was. It was kind of a special moment it really was. Wow that's huge. You've had a run of special things a union. Jared between which you just talked about now the blues winning Chiefs winning triple crowns winning. It's been pretty magical man as a sports fan you kind of. Are you like living in this? Golden like Aaron your head going. I can't believe this is happening. I mean yeah it's it's been you're right and that's that's a really good point and and the thing about the blues has never done in the chiefs hadn't done in fifteen years and now. I go watch them and they had done it in. Twenty years with the basketball team is kind of weird. When you think about it yeah is. Never GonNa get any better than this probably not. Who would play your dad in the hoosiers version of that story? That's a really cool curiosity would you? Would you cast a new one dislike? Hopefully not the guy drunk guy that drunk guy was the assistant coach that give it a game or two and they got kicked down and all that stuff happened but yeah hopefully not him. My Dad's got like a gene Hackman thing going on. He's like an old old guy yelling atom all the time you know he's always he coaches the JV so the JV varsity and I walk in and the JV's they're really good. I think they've only lost one or two year and I think it was like thirty four to ten. They were head in the third quarter when I when I walked in the gym because I I went for the high school game. But you get there early. And they're still playing thirty four to Tunas Garay. They're doing good. You know and is just chew and some kids ass out here. Twenty four points in the third quarter but yeah. That's that's his style of coaching. No doubt out right now. You kicked me out. Don't come back until you learn to keep your mouth. Listen Very Gene Hackman Moment. I can see good. Came President now right so so it's no way. GonNa top your best thing. Congratulations on that. The best thing that I saw today was Aaron and I tend to like talk in randomly. Get into these strange conversations about horse racing in like things that most people aren't thinking about we were talking about Rachel. Alexandra in I asked. You the question. Is that the best campaign you have seen since you've followed the sport and just like if you could talk about that your answer. That question was like the the highlight for me. It was like whoa days not filled with much. So we've learned that well the answer. The question was To to just Kinda make sure everybody realizes I followed the sports where I can talk about it. Intelligently since two thousand seven so campaigns before two thousand seven chime in with those if you'd like but I just I don't know enough to sit here and actually have a conversation about it but two thousand seven on I would I said her's or American Pharaohs would be the best campaigns As far as one year that I've ever seen and you think about her campaign. Not only will we never see it again. It will never even be attempted again and I told you we may live to worth three hundred years old in never see a three year old filly even run in the Woodward let alone win the would like that is just insane concept and back when she did it. I had no idea you know the significant. She's facing the boys. Well she's done that you know however many times you know high school and preakness and now that I've learned about the game and it's like that doesn't three billion the Woodward I mean. Can you imagine that now even like even like a songbird who was hit Rachel but like she went to Saratoga and she had the big hype and she ran so well they didn't think about going to the Woodward with that was like a not even a race on the list. Right it's incredible when you think about the fact that like we might never see affiliate preakness again in from the position she wanted from. I mean it wasn't just the campaign it was all the things she did in that campaign. Were so ridiculous into Beatson Yada for course of the year I mean the next year she she wanted and she was defeated during that campaign did the year she did nothing wrong. It was it had to be the most remarkable campaign. And it's it's really a shame when you think that people the next time you saw her is a forty year old. She just wasn't the same as in. Yada was just. I really feel that next year. Push Than Yada and I'm a huge fan. My first day at the track we need to the classic so I mean she really drove me into the sport in like. If that's your first data track you're hooked but Xanada because there was this quote unquote rivalry which was never really a real rivalry..

"More head on over to video dot dot com. Or the daily racing form YouTube channel, they'll be uploaded by Friday afternoon vis race goes through the Bill mocked trained hidden scroll. And Matt we talked about hidden scrolls pros and cons on the expanded stakes preview the race of the day. Of course in this race all three of us to try to go against the favourite and Mike your horses and undefeated graded stakes winner. Yeah. It'll be interesting to see what coma can do in here for George Weaver tsa's three year old debut off a little bit of a layoff. So you know, he has things working against them here. It's a tough field for his first start back. He's never been in a to turn rates for his first time around two turns. And he's giving away some recent Sita some good horses in here. But this horse ran twice as a two year old, and he ran legitimately well and both of them. Let's look at the second of the of the two starts that grade. Three Nashua one turn mile. You got a nice trip in this race stalking. The pace. I liked the way he takes it over. And then I liked the way he kicks it in here when the runner up network effect comes for him in the stretch. He's a little green here. He started looks like he's trying to lug it a little bit. But we'll straighten himself out when he sees network effect calming. And he finds another gear and finishes. This race off. This source has a lot of talent. I think he might be square price in here when you consider all the other options, and the fact that he's off all those things I'm willing to get this source of chance in this race square. Price gets Lasix for the first time as well for his to turn debut and couldn't work out a nice trip sitting in the second flight. Matt your force lack stakes experience. But what he does have is victory around turns at Gulfstream Park that came in his most recent run this the eight global campaign. Let's go and take a look at that one right now, I recognize a lot of people probably look at it and say, well didn't really beat a heck of a lot not a lot of running going on behind him. I don't think local campaign has ever looked like a loser any point either of his two lifetime starts, and I can understand some reluctance to really buy into this horse considering regressed eight points on the buyer scale. But Dan, we talked about it in stakes previ- he paired up as raw time form ratings of one six those numbers alone are relatively close. I think the paired up numbers suggest a forward move is coming here. And he's another one that's going to be probably pretty close to double digit odds. I wanna give the number one code von or one more chance for trainers should mcgahey. We talk about how Bill mutt? Rarely wins with first time starter and shut doesn't win too often with them either. But code of honor was the debut winner at Saratoga last summer. And then he made his second start in the grade one champagne, and we break from the gate in the champagne, I watch code of honor go right to his nose right there. And that I think compromised. His chances just a little bit. We'll pick up the tape in a bit as they turn into the stretch. And you'll see the code of honor is very very wide swinging into the lane. This is a lot to ask for a horse stretching out a quarter of a mile face in winners for the first time and start number two and you rally solidly to finish second behind favored complexity after this race code of honor had some issues he missed a start in the Breeders Cup juvenile. He missed a start in the rim sin, and he made his three year old debut with very disappointing performance in the mutual. Macho man stakes my opinion of that race is that he was under trained for that race that shook did not have him ready to roll he has been working bullets over the pace and park surface leading up to the fountain of youth. He draws great inside post position. And I'm hoping that John Velazquez can work at a trip in a race where there is a lot of pace I'll go with Kotova honor. He's six to one of the morning line and the fountain of youth to learn more about some of the pedigrees of the horses running in the fountain of youth. We've got Nicole Rousseau's pedigree pick, and then we'll head on over to Craig McAliskey of time for you. US? He's got a paste projector for the Honey FOX stakes on the fountain of youth undercard. Hey, everyone Nicole Russo here for out of the gate ready to take a closer look at the fountain of youth. Here's the field for the race set for Saturday at Gulfstream Park. It offers fifty Kentucky Derby points to the winner. And it's a chance for a few previous graded stakes winners signalman and Vico medicate moving forward. But it also represents a chance for hidden scroll and global campaign to take their first step up to the graded level. Both are coming off. Impressive wins at Gulfstream. Both are regally bread colts with families that will suggest that they would relish more distance. Let's take a closer look at each of them.
