Why a dedicated Zoom device makes sense

"You'll recall that earlier this week I had a lot of fun with that new Microsoft Eighty, five inch dedicated device for teams meetings. It's only twenty two thousand dollars little much for my budget I. Don't know about you but it's been a week for dedicated video meeting devices after that Microsoft announcement though I gotTa love, Amazon's answer which came later in the week, a dedicated ten inch unit for two hundred, fifty dollars the echo show ten, which lets you go through Alexa to connect to zoom skype or Alexa to Alexa direct calls two hundred and fifty dollars. Twenty two, thousand dollars I think I'll take the cheaper one Alex, thank you. I think these dedicated devices when they're priced, right make a lot of sense i. mean think of the kids were stuck at home taking school on their laptops. Now, they could have one more unit just displaying the teacher and lessons which would give their hands free for schoolwork and no taking on the laptop make sense for those of you who are taking meetings all day. The same issue applies isn't it hard to take notes when your laptop screen is filled with Speaker video windows. Plus this way you wouldn't have to worry Webcam placement after all his best to be at eye level which most people ignore and not have the Webcam looking up your Chin that requires putting the laptop atop of a bunch of books which gives you a better look, but it makes it really hard to type. So the savvy speaker or student would have to constantly move the books around that dedicated service on the desk would solve the issue living atop the. Books that could just stay there and not have to be moved around. So Amazon has the echo show ten, which will be out later this year it'll let you connect the Webcam to the TV via the hundred and twenty dollar fired TB Cube device. So so maybe it won't be watching eighty five inches how about fifty or sixty sounds pretty good p particularly when you consider that you can buy a good fifty inch these days for about three hundred dollars. Now, the Amazon solutions won't be available until later this year. But if you have a facebook portal video chat device, you can use the dedicated unit now to connect to zoom because the update started rolling out today. The portal started one, hundred, twenty, nine dollars, and they're available in three sizes at eight, inch, ten inch or fifteen point, six inch. The addition that connects the TV which is called. Portal. TV is not yet supported for the zoom calls meanwhile, that's not all folks next week on Wednesday Google holds its annual fall hardware product event where it's expected to unveil a new top of the line smartphone and updated streaming device and a new take on the nest home hub video display unit last year's nest. Didn't work with zoom or initially even with Google's meat though it does now but not zoom zooms coming later, and I know I can pretty much rest assured that the new Google video display unit we'll be working with zoom and hopefully working well

Review: amazing TCL/Roku TV for $229

"Graham here with a question when the last time you bought yourself a new. Year after year. You know I've been amazed at the falling prices of sets that would garner seven hundred dollars two thousand dollars just a few years ago, and I just picked up a new forty three inch, T. C. L. set with roku built in for two hundred and twenty nine dollars. Two hundred and twenty nine dollars for a display that offers four K. HD, resolution and HDR. But forget about the acronyms I'm just amazed at what you can get now for two hundred bucks. I bought the TV for a non traditional reason to use it as a giant computer monitor to watch videos that I have edited on my laptop on my little sixteen inch laptop. So I paid fifteen dollars for a ten foot HD my cord. That's the Court of course that connects the TV to other devices and I connected it to my apple macbook pro. It went directly to the TV. I didn't have to spring for an additional twenty five to fifty dollars for a separate. Roku streaming player right so I saved money. The footage looks so great at forty three inches I had to wonder why anybody would go out and spend big bucks on a computer monitor a quick look on Amazon in a forty three inch LG monitor is upwards of six hundred bucks wow. So the other thing once I sit up the TV. I never had to plug in antenna cable box or anything defined oodles of programming. All I needed was a WIFI signal. roku screen name and Password and suddenly I had five hundred APPs available on the platform. A lot of them wanted money from me, but there was many that didn't there was so much free stuff I couldn't believe it. I mean I come from a generation that's used to connecting things to the TV whether that be streaming box whether that be an antenna whether that be a cable box. I mean this is amazing. I can act the nothing. so the APPS. There's the usual Pandora Hulu Amazon Prime Video Netflix's s on and on two big ones missing Hbo Max in NBC's Peacock. Financial negotiations, and then there's the roku channel which is a homegrown collection that supported movies and TV shows mostly on the older side. Batman bewitched movies like the perfect storm, dogs and cats. Crimson tide. And live news channels and these are really good from ABC. NBC and CBS. Accord cutters dream no cable needed. All you need is Wifi and you get more stuff than you'd ever Wanna see without connecting anything. So how cool is that? The picture quality I would rate as a ten for a two hundred dollar TV or five on the overall scale. If you're comparing it to the best of breed leads a fifty inch led from Samsung cost eight hundred dollars for the TCL set. You'll have to sit right in front of it. Turn the lights on low and not be on the sides and that way the pitcher will look its best for a savings of six hundred dollars I can do that.

U.S. Air Force Launches Contest to Replace the B-52 Bomber’s Engine

"Here to talk about bombers. There is news just breaking as of May nineteenth the US Air Force kicked off a three way competition to reengineer. Its entire seventy six aircraft. Be Fifty two fleet and the the competitions going to be underway. They just released a request for proposals. Steve can you talk about what the Air Force is looking for? And what that means for the companies involved. Yes so on Tuesday evening or Tuesday late afternoon the Air Force released the our fee to start Step two of the engine source election the replacement for the Beef at T.F. Thirty Three's which You know design. That goes back about sixty years. And you've got three companies in the competition. Rolls Royce with the VR seventy five. Which for this competition. They're calling the effluent thirty We also have the engine. That's on the global six thousand that The Air Force is flying as as the e eleven As a communications relay. Pratt Whitney is competing with the w eight hundred which is another business jet engine and you've got Ge that has said that they are looking at offering either or both of the CF. Thirty four engine actually started out with the. A ten In still in service with the ten. But it's gone onto power of regional jets and Also it's passport engine. Which is the propulsion system on the bombard? Da Global Seven thousand business jet. So those are the those are the three competitions with air forces looking for is a new propulsion system. That as what what they say is basically the T.F. Thirty-three has kind of come to the end of its life beyond twenty thirty. They don't really see. You're very viable way of sustaining it. And keeping it in service. But of course they've decided that the B fifty two will continue operating beyond twenty fifty so they need something under the wings of those aircraft. Keep them flying and they're looking for something that it can extend the range by twenty five percent that can add a bunch of loiter time to the B fifty two's mission set and They won't cost too much and that they can integrate as quickly as possible. So that's that's where we are with the competition Steve Guy. Can you tell us a little bit of it? Gives us a little more sense of the engines? That will be competing. Hard High State Yeah I it's fascinating to me that this is competition is underway. It's it's really difficult to believe that in the early two thousands that they looked at this in the nineteen seventies even looked. This goes back a long way. Pratt and Whitney originally proposed a you know of the upgrades the T.F. Thirty three which courses based on the original J. Three engine that Pratt went. They developed some back in the in the late. Fifties and early sixties. Rolls Royce of course came really close more recently With an offbeat till Evan Option in the mid. Nineteen nineties with with Boeing as a team So it's been an ongoing thing but that was was four engines to replace AIDS so this is different. Because you've got eight engines. Replace eight engine. So how could that possibly work? So the the reason it can work is that over the last fifty years which is really the length of the of this program The original engine. If it's hard to imagine this but the actual fan amit served Pratt and Whitney engine that the the one that's on the inevitable at thirty three is about fifty inches the inlet itself and yet the bypass ratio. Which is you know the key parameter ready for the performance of this Is Only one point. Four three two one but all of the engines that nabbing pushed through for this replacement here. We are fifty years later. They're all between four point. Two to five point five to one bypass ratio but basically in the same diamonds and that reflects the fact that all those cores of shrunk at in you've got much more efficient fan flow and that so here you are bringing in these twenty-first-century engines however just to clarify that One of those engines at state mentioned. Jeez pushing forward with the CF thirty four DASH sandwiches one option. That engine actually will be this year celebrating. I believe it's twenty eight anniversary so it's it's not a near engine itself. Likud's relative to what it's replacing it still a youngster. Really Oli others estate mentioned on new business jet engines up just a little bit of sort of back of the envelope. Calculation and based on the published data that we've got. It's quite interesting. You look at the actual weight that bear way to each of these engines and do a quick so a calculation it at the moment they the tip thirty three. The ship said of bear engines weighs about thirty five thousand pounds. That's just mean a mechanical gear on on the on the pylon not including the case sings or even sometimes accessories. If you look at the calculated waits for the others the passport which is the other g engine would actually weigh slightly more about thirty six thousand the prod engine the Peterloo eight hundred which state mentioned which is the The J. Six hundred five hundred engine is sly is actually the lowest just under twenty five thousand. Pansy got an interesting calculation going on that but basically they're all within about three inches of each other in terms of inlet diameter all within a few hundred pounds thrust so it's very complicated competition and a very interesting calculus that the Athol is GonNa have to go through.

Is the Tasmanian Tiger Really Extinct?

"You've no doubt heard of the Tasmanian Devil or seen an animated version the whirling dervish in looney tunes cartoons. But what about the Tasmanian Tiger? It's actually not even a tiger at all instead a marsupial known as the Thilo seen and it's thought to have gone extinct almost one hundred years ago but did it really. While many experts believed the last known thylacine died at. Australia's Hobart Zoo in nineteen thirty. Six others ardently claimed that the animals still exists because they've spotted one or more in the wild. We spoke by email with Kathryn medlock. Honorary Curator of vertebrate zoology the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. She said the international Australian and state definition of an extinct species is that there has been no reliable evidence of the species for fifty years by this definition. They are officially extinct species although designated as officially extinct. It's difficult to prove that something is not there as opposed to proving it is. There are many cases of species being rediscovered. Many years after supposed- extinction we also spoke by email with Rick Schwartz an animal ambassador for California's San Diego Zoo. He explained that quote since the Nineteen Thirties. There have been a few claims Tasmanian. Tigers have been seen for brief moments in the wild however no substantial evidence has proven they exist at this time we also spoke by email with Neil waters of the thylacine awareness group of Australia. Who started disagrees a quote? Do I think the animals extinct? No because I've seen too and been coughed slash barked at by one in South Australia. In two thousand eighteen. There have been more than seven thousand documented sightings of Silas scenes or animals that appear to be Thilo scenes but the majority of those sightings on Mainland Australia. According to the scientific formula applied to mammals though it is extinct and has been since nineteen thirty six for fifty years. The animal was considered rare and endangered. This fact inconveniently keeps the animal as a recent extinction rather than an ancient one. We should lose hope over and forget about. Let's step back a bit. What exactly is Tasmanian. Tiger? Schwartz explained that it's not a big cat at all. He said the name. Tiger most likely was given to the animal by the European settlers due to the light stripes that went from the spine down each side on the hind end of the animal. Most people agree that the Tasmanian Tiger looks like a medium sized short haired dog with subtle stripes on hindquarters and the base of its tail. Tail was thick and muscular at the base. More like a kangaroo's tail than a dog's tail colorations were described as light brown and Yellow Brown with Darker Brown stripes. These animals weighed about forty five to seventy pounds. That's twenty to thirty kilos with a body length of forty to fifty inches or one hundred to one hundred and twenty five centimeters with that tail. Adding another twenty to twenty five inches or fifty to sixty centimeters most stood about two feet tall or two thirds of a meter at the shoulder. Schwartz said in our modern times we usually think of marsupials and Kangaroos however the Tasmanian Tiger had a number of unique characteristics being dog like medium sized carnivore. That's also Marsupial it. Size and features were more similar to that of a small wolf or large Fox. Combine that with the striped pattern on the hind end and thick muscular tail. Similar toy kangaroo. You've got a pretty unique animal and water said when you had a close look at the prince we find. You will see time and time again. The broad S- play of the toes and the Claude drag impressions from the massive fixed clause on the animals four feet. The reason they're split wide and not like a dog is because they don't have webbing between their toes their front feet also still acts similar to hands as they can both hop like a kangaroo or run on all fours as a result many of the prince appear that the front feet are literally grabbing the ground as they dig it on curves or high speed when pursuing prey when Europeans first colonized Australia. The Tasmanian Tiger was rarely seen the animals started to become increasingly blamed for tax on cheap however so private companies and the Tasmanian government attempted to curb population by establishing bounties exchange for dead violence scenes adding to their eventual extinction was the sad fact that Australia's colonisation eroded the thylacines habitat by the nineteen twenty s sightings of the Tasmanian Tiger in the wild became extremely rare and in nineteen thirty. A farmer shot and killed the second. To last known wild Tasmanian Tiger the final by Lesean was captured in the Florentine Valley in Nineteen thirty three and transferred to the Hobart Zoo on September seventh. Nineteen thirty six. The animal known as Benjamin died in captivity black and white footage recorded in nineteen thirty three would become historically significant as images of the final scene in nineteen thirty seven the Tasmanian animals and birds protection board a later to become the national park. Service launched a series to determine where thylacines still might be found. Medlock said unfortunately living animal was not discovered. The final search in the series was into the chain river area in Western. Tasmania on the search. Sometimes seen footprints were discovered and creek bed. The original plaster casts of these prints are lodged in the Tasmanian Museum. The Tasmanian Museum doesn't receive citing reports. And we don't have the expertise to assess them. This is done by the Department of Primary Industries Water and environment they continue to record reported sightings and take them seriously often however sightings films and photographs are released to the media through the people who are reporting them rather than a government body over the years. There have been several instances photographs and films purported to be thylacines in the wild but none have been verified as genuine evidence of an animal waters however contends that there have been dozens of credible sightings of Thilo scenes. He said actually hundreds of them too many to name one in particular was a bus load of tourists in Western Australia. Back in the nineteen eighties. Who All saw the animal at close range in broad daylight whilst on a wildflower tour the fact that we find headless Kangaroos. All over. His failure is a key piece of physical evidence that these animals still persist. But nobody to know about it. Because it's always blamed on either hunters or Satanists by. Ill informed people who don't understand how these animals feed waters has been working tirelessly to raise public awareness of this animals continued existence for the past five years meeting dozens of witnesses and collecting thousands of statements regarding sightings of this animal in. Tasmania and across mainland Australia. His work appears in the two thousand seventeen documentary living the thylacine dream which follows waters travels throughout mainland Australia. Collect evidence of predation as well as stories of sightings from witnesses who are adamant seen the thile seen both recently and historically

Earth Day with Bill McKibben

"Hey this is bill mckibben. I've spent thirty years working hard for climate justice. Sorry not sorry I wanNA start with trying to get a clear eyed look at where we really stand with climate change today and also what's happening in the US versus what's happening around the world. Most of the news about climate change is pretty bad. Wrote the first book about this thirty years ago. Nineteen eighty nine. A book called the end of Nature. At that time we were offering warning about what was going to happen if we didn't do anything. We didn't do anything so now. Now those things are happening. We've raised the temperature of the earth about one degree Celsius so far and that's been enough to melt about half the Shiites in the Summer Arctic. The oceans are about thirty percent more acidic than they were forty years ago sea levels begun to rise we see huge disruptions to the planet hydrological system the way the water moves around the earth. That's because Warm Air holds more water vapor than coal. She get more. Evaporation and arid areas and with that. Evaporation in that drought comes horrific fires of the kind. We've seen in California or most recently in Australia where we think a couple of billion animals died of course those seven or eight weeks of blazes. Once that waters evaporated up into the air. It comes down again and increasingly. It comes down and kind of gully washing storms. We've just come through. The what is twelve months on record in American history. We've seen the biggest storms and our country's history including the champion of all time Hurricane Harvey which trump something like fifty inches of rain. You can vision that on parts of Houston so this is the new normal now. That's a one degree increase Celsius and global temperature. The problem is working on a path to increase the temperature about three degrees Celsius. A little more right now even if we kept the promises that we made in Paris which of course our country is keeping and that won't be three times as bad as one degree. It'll be many times worse than that. The damage we're doing now is exponential not linear because we're going pass tipping points so that's the really tough news if there's good news and there is it's that the engineers have done their job as well as the scientists. The politicians have done. There's badly you know In the last ten years they've dropped the price. Solar Panel Wind Turbine something like ninety percent. And that means that the cheapest way to generate power around the planets now usually the cleanest way and that gives us way out if we chose take it if we mobilized like we did at World War Two or something then we could make enormous progress very quickly. We're not doing that. That's why we're building movements to try and force that kind of action and we're seeing now you know we're seeing the effects right. We're seeing these fires. We're seeing weather unlike anything we've seen in the past and it still seems like there's people that just don't see this as a critical issue. What do you think could change their minds? How do we get people understand the magnitude of this problem? The first thing to say is one needs to have swallow amount of sympathy for people because for the last thirty years when now no the oil industry has waged an all out incredibly expensive. Incredibly effective dish information's paying to get people to disbelieve climate science. You know they went and hired the same people who used to work for the tobacco industry and they spun the same set of livestock. Science was clear that we didn't know for sure on when as great investigative reporting over the last five years now makes clear the oil companies knew everything there was to know back in the nineteen eighties. You know they understood what was happening. Exxon had great scientists. The product was Qurban. Of course they were going to study it and when scientists told them with great accuracy. How much and how fast it was going to warm. They were believed. Exxon started building. All its drilling rigs to compensate for the rise and she level they knew was coming. They didn't tell the rest of US instead. They embarked on this very expensive and very powerful campaign of lying so I have some sympathy for people who were taken in by that. Why the good news is their number. So fallen dramatically with about seventy percent of Americans. Now who understand that? There's a problem the polling in the Democratic primary shoes. It's either the number one or number two issue back and forth with climate change voters minds and that's true for all voters Republican Democrat Independent. When you ask them below the age of thirty young people really get in our leading on this issue so I think the problem at this point is less trying to persuade the remaining thirty percent who are ideologues and unlikely to get persuaded. I mean if you spent the last couple of decades marinating and rush limbaugh. You'd be resistant to clear thinking to the challenge. Instead is to get some part of that. Seventy percent really engaged in the fight. We don't need all of them. We can get five. Six seven percent of Americans really engaged in this battle. What I think we can win it and change the political and economic ground rules. But it's GonNa take that kind of hype.

Black Friday: TV buying tips

"Start with four K.. Hr I think most people Sorry Four K.. Hd are most people know what for K.. Is it's more resolution. What exactly is hd are the simple answer is you're GonNa get better contrast and more colors? Actually the folks at best buy said. You'll have a a bigger box of crayons and I think that's the way to think about it HDR of some flavor because of course again being checked there are different. Flavors is is GONNA be on most if not all the four K.. TV's that are out there You may find some without But there are different flavors. You have dolby vision you have. Hd are ten and at this point. Most consumers shouldn't worry too much about especially when we're talking about the low prices you mentioned at that range going to get a good. TV is going to be the best. TV's are going to be the TV the the GEEKS or drooling over. I don't think so. I don't think that matters for most people again better contrast more color more color bigger color Palette all right the other buzzword that that gets a lot of attention when your TV shopping dolby atmos- US and all sorts of dolby stuff. You want to tell people what exactly that is. It's more it's richer sound you know at most. You know if you have an elaborate home theater system or even you know some of the best of the The sound bars out there You know you'll get the effect of of sound coming down down from the ceiling and and all around you. "fifty inch" Discussed on KGO 810

"The same stuff differ day. Basically these apps would secretly click on ads in the background and without your knowledge all generate money for the developer, and they were tied to the same Chinese app developer. So all your data guess was being sent to China to they've been pulled from the Google play store. But not before they were downloaded get this ninety million times. The most popular is called selfie camera, which alone was downloaded about fifty million times because people love their cell fees, also a flashlight Omni, cleaner, ram, master, smart, cooler and total cleaner. So basically, which wanna do is make sure they general of any of these apps, and if you're androids running. The problems you might have to do a whole factory reset and adware, Android. They kind of seem to get to go there by lake peanut butter and jelly. This next story. I wanted to bring to your attention because as I was out on the internet this past week a lot of the internet bloggers and the tech journalists were all excited about this that if you have a Google home running the Google home assistant. You can now listen to YouTube music for free. Okay. And they're all excited about this say, wow, you know, if you've got to go home, you can get you to music for free, and it's not really free because there's advertisements in the music. So I sat there I thought to myself have they never heard of commercial radio stations. I mean, there's like they're all jumping up and down that I can get Google music with ads on my Google home. Assistant. Google like you to give them ten dollars a month though, because then you'd become a premium user or you can just listen to your local radio because again, that's free. Now, if you like the Microsoft surface, but she wants something bigger Microsoft says they have just the thing for you. It's the surface hub to s collaborative display now. This is a one of those displays that you just gonna tuck into your laptop bag. It's a fifty inch touchscreen PC, and the price tag means that you must really really you really really really want this. It's going to run nine thousand dollars just for the display. That's it. Then you want to tack on another fifteen hundred for the movable stand because you need that. And it does have features four K resolution you can split the screen for video chats big meetings. It might be something. But I just heard you say something the back of your mind because I do have that ability that you said Kim fifty. Inches agree. But do they have something bigger and the answer to that is yes, they have an eighty five inch model, but for that you have to drop twelve grand, and then you can put four them together. So that this you have this massive wall display, and that's going to set you back around, you know, say a hundred grand by the time you buy all the parts and pieces in tables and mounts and things like that. If you lose power, but you still need to have everything on the display, you can add a battery excess Serie and that's going to cost you another fifteen hundred dollars the fifty inch models ships in June. But she might have to wait for the eighty five inch until next year. So that gives you all kinds of time to schedule meetings and spreadsheets so that you can justify buying what? And I don't know if you remember that we had this self lacing shoe craze last year that lasted for about. I think it was ten days seven to ten days. Nike's upgraded versions finally hit stores a couple of months back, and they were so high tech that you could actually bring them. "Nine. It was a fifty inch pioneer plasma TV. It's sold for twenty thousand dollars were you selling some of those? We were. Yeah. If you had the money you want to be the people that have that. Now, I think you can buy forty fifty inch TV's for twenty thousand dollars. But it's amazing just how things have changed nine thousand nine hundred eighty five is kind of win win TV became stereo. And we started moving the sound system in the TV in the same room and made the first home theater systems. And then we did the big projection you remember these big projectors, but the size of a VW beetle that sits on your floor in the curve screen, and oh, yeah. Top gun was the big big movie back then it sold more home theaters than anything else. And that. Was in the mid eighties. And then of course, you know, right at the turn the century ninety nine two thousand we had flat-panel. We had HDTV was introduced we we actually launched the first digital satellite HDTV program here in Saint Louis. So have a lot of I, you know, we're we're a small local company, but were you know, we have great relationships with our vendors. And so we can introduce a lot of cool technology to the people of Saint Louis. I don't know if you've ever seen the guy on C net in his name, Steve Gutenberg, not to be confused with the actress Steve Bergen, he calls himself, the audio affiliate, and he writes reviews of different speakers headphones, and I was going over I go to his site. You know, every every couple of weeks or so just to check out his articles. He wrote a great piece yesterday about he said, here's the best reason to upgrade your audio system, high fidelity music will actually make you feel better. And he goes in he's absolutely right here because there is the sound to your ear. But there's also the emotional connection that we have with music, and you know, this better than anyone in. I have certainly had this appreciation for years because I'm an audio guy. I've worked in radio we're headphones nearly every day of my life, but you can hear things, and I I want people to understand this. And this is what this column is about as you put it up on Twitter. I'll do that later today that if you have your little ear buds, whatever they're called from your iphone. If you put good headphones on our good speakers, you're going to hear things in that music layers to that music rhythms to that music different aspects of that music that you will never ever here on bad speakers. It's just it's just the way it's a it's a totally different experience. It is absolutely an emotional experience. You know, we give people goosebumps when they come in here and audio demonstration. And we're one of the last places that you can actually go in and and get a good demonstration. Because we have these wonderful demo rooms listening, rooms and music is passion, music and movies. Are the passion of our business? Now, we do a big automation business, smart homes lighting control security systems everything else, and that's cool stuff. But the passion is audio and video that that's what brought us here today. Yeah. You know? I can listen to a song. If I if I like a song, I think a lot of people do this. I want to hear numerous times the somebody Eric church country guy. I like right now. And that song what what was the song? I told you lot Dave climb because he's an intriguing look this up because I don't want to misquote the title. But the point is I've been listened to it a lot in my car. Some of it is the name of the is really good song. We should probably have that ready to go. The listen to my car multiple times on account. We hear the song, and my and my headphones on my totem speakers that got from Senator, and I heard just different parts of the guitar in different things in that song, which is fun to sort of explore which is one of the reasons that I like to talk about good audio and visual the other thing. That's amazing. You know, going back to his column on CNN is believe it or not you can get really good quality that doesn't have. Have to break the Bank. You know, if you wanna go crazy, you know, you can go crazy mild awhile. With some of the receivers out there that are what's the highest price speaker? You have you think well, I can tell you. We've got a pair of the abou- hours and Wilkins at their fifty. Now, they they could fifty thousand thousand appear do we don't show him. But on the way. We have a pair on the floor for twenty four thousand. But then we just put together this cool little to channel system with occupy receiver that streams blue do bluetooth from your phone plus a totem or a project turntable and a pair of a paradigm speakers for eight hundred dollars project turns it was really nice. That's like if you look at the reviews at there because they did that. And I got one from you guys. It's it's rated as like the best intra level turntable while damage your records. That's the main thing people are spending a lot of money on vinyl in the vinyls way better. And it will not damage your records when you play this vital thing is interesting to another thing that I read recently is there's a company out there. And I think it's a little pricey. But if you're really into this stuff, you can ship your old vinyl to them, and they'll do this cleaning process. It's very thorough. I mean, it's not going to take out all the dings and the pops and the cracks, but apparently cleans him up pretty nicely. Well, David thanks for coming in. You've got the began resale going on this weekend. So. Have we do I'm gonna tell people about that in a second. So we got it. We kind of do the commercial in a minute. But I know there's great deals that are going on. And you know, I'm a big fan. And I love the passion that you bring in. I have a passion for entertainment and music. So that's why the two things go together. So I appreciate your sponsorship of my show as you know, so David enjoy the weekend. The the anniversary celebration is kicks in tomorrow. We'll see you soon. Thank you young from everyone. Mark.

"It's been a long time since and it has rained this much this long, and we go to AccuWeather world headquarters senior meteorologist Elliot Abrams. Elliot, good morning. Good morning. Larry, John the total rainfall so far has been over five inches five point twenty or so and three and three quarters inches of rain. Just yesterday. When we talk about those numbers like four or five inches. Right. Doesn't really sound like that Muslim ass. Not a great distance, but imaginative of fifty inches of snow. Yeah. That would get your attention. This is significant because for the one day total yesterday understand it was a record for the date. But second most we've gotten behind Ivan. You'd have to go to two thousand four for that. Right. And that was a bad storm in terms a lot of damage a lot of basements, flooded and streams and rivers all came up. And this one wasn't he? Well, was it Gordon, but? It was just as strong as wasn't any stronger than it would have been just as a low pressure area and a warm front. That's really was main thing was but now finally the things getting ready to drift away, good riddance, Stewart and the weather will improve for tomorrow and Wednesday. Yeah. In actually been watching some of the readings on the the creeks and streams in the area and a lot of them have already peaked. Now, the rivers the main rivers still have to come. But the creeks and streams that flood so many neighborhoods and homes peak like yesterday afternoon or evening, and there will be a few episodes of heavier showers today, but probably nothing that caused a general widespread problem across the area that hasn't already occurred, and then it'll gradually improve as we go through the week. It'll get kind of steamy. The mosquitoes will love re breeding how nice toward mid week. It's going to be around the eighty eighty two degrees each afternoon, then we'll be watching Florence and that storm is like the ram into North Carolina in the wait probably around Thursday. And if. If the computer models, right? It's just going to be total devastation because storm will stall and caused flooding rains. It'll be a multibillion dollar storm. If that occurs. Alternative of moving north westward toward our area. It would mean that the rain would be aggravated at the end of the week. We start all over again. But the models are not showing doing that. So right now though, there is great concern. I know the already started evacuating some people in the Carolinas in parts anyway. Well, I will be the higher ties already. There's some flooding owing long at each high tide along Virginia North Carolina coast, and that will worsen rip currents and things like that. But you know, you want to be the people want to be out of there before the storm actually hippie has then places get cut off Elliott, you're saying Virginia, North Carolina. Is there a a fine point yet on where it'll make landfall right now, it looks like it's aiming for somewhere around Wilmington, Myrtle Beach. But let's also remember sue thousand miles away still. So it saw plenty of time to change direction and had had someplace else, but all the models sort of converging on that area. As being the most. Thank senior meteorologist Elliot Abrams sand. Yeah. So you got the one two punch, Gordon who, you know. Let's let's be honest. We didn't think it was going to NAS this much rain at this early. The original models had it going by us. Ed, Pat, bypassing us completely obviously that didn't happen coming up. We're going to update because of the rain major traffic.

Out there with the bag I was at Methodist Hospital in New Orleans piece for the Katrina had a front row seat about day to two or three national guard troops kinda use the, hospital as a whole point which was a good thing and they. Were scattered, around different spots What kind enough to set up a stock pot Nicole stock out of tomato soup day three and I went to go fetch fetch soup for the, girls working on the labor, and delivery unit patients that were left This middle. Age lady in front of us and the line while the girl was serving soup and she asks what flavor is that National guard, girl goes tomato soup Well I want chicken noodle Everybody in into room just stops and. Froze, and looked at her Right next door in the chapel Was conducting prayer for the dying now where people wrapped up. In the sheets on the floor, and one of the guys goes why don't you go ask those people in a chap What flavor soup date would like an. Interest brought out the rage and cynicism EMMY and I thought for a moment. Everybody in the room with gang up on it and part of me. Just wanted to help prevent, it and the other part of me, wanted to stand back. And watch it happen it just told me the selfishness in the. Stupidity that type of Christ but I mean overall generous it's. It's a constant battle for me, not the human race so cynically when things like that And Mike you have. Witnessed a post apocalyptic moment, the likes of which most people will, never experience and that's. Where you really begin to see Human nature laid bare but I think part of this is where we have allowed the left to intrude upon values values. Decency kindness, respect and we have allowed to sort of attacking in the way that these. Mobs of, gadflies attack those who are decent normal. Natural you know this idea that you're being given. Free soup and you would demand another soup How the mob should say get out now Get out you get nothing but we have so celebrated. This idea that the complainer is the king. I own a place called redneck country club we're, not, on yelp and. People will. Tell me man, you're yelp reviews? You're, great and I'll say you know what. Honestly our yelp reviews could be the worst I don't give a damn because yelp. Is a place that cowards go to criticize I have. Friends who owned restaurants and bless their hearts they have to live. Off of. The public opinion of their restaurant I don't I can't imagine how you do it because, a lot of people go out, to dinner not to enjoy a nice meal but to have someone to insult criticize and, be forced into sitting there and hearing them insult. Them because that's what the hospitality industry's become I watched a, woman European woman She was being she was being. Harassed by a guy he obviously had some money he had all the, little name, brand products the, the really really multi thousand dollar tee shirt shorts slippers you name it. And his two kids were beside him and. He had come to this particular hotel and they, have, a year round. Residency also. And he had, he had toured? The, property and at the end of it. He was scolding this woman in such a manner that my kids saw it in. Came and told me by the time they told me. It was already over but they were telling me awful things he. Was saying. That this woman and at the end of it as several of us walked up to, kind of see what was going, on he said well you just have to understand I've been travelling for twelve hours and, I'm exhausted you've just harassed a woman who is. Doing her job for in Europe Answering too. Many questions are doing too much talking because frankly you want someone to beat up on we have in our culture celebrated the bitchy complaining awful. Human nature, my, wife pointed out to me. Yesterday morning a guy was complaining at the hotel. Where we're staying and she said he's waiting to get something for free And. He complained for about five. Solid minutes and we waited, until at the end, of it they, said sir okay we've done the. Best we could do the power had gone out wasn't their fault it was. A citywide power outage or town wide power outage and she goes he's trying to get, something for you watch this and so. We're watching watching he's complaint, how dare you you, don't have any. But Cole food you don't have any hot. Coffee you don't have any and you would have thought, he was on, the Titanic but it was a citywide A power outage in all of Aspen, and she, goes. He's. Trying to get something free watch and. We watched and we washed, and at the. End she goes cert there's nothing else I can do I've, done the best, I can do is there anything I. Can do. For you and he said. Well you should cop me, for one day free, that was the, idea that was the idea that. If I complained loud enough if I squeak long enough there is this idea. The illegal aliens coming here They have this mentality before they arrive you're. Not grateful to a country that might possibly play host to you, compared to the country you've, come from with. Strife. And war and poverty and famine no the minute you, arrive don't ever seem grateful grateful or the. Week complain this is a nation that celebrates the complainer.
