Is Tutu Atwell Too Small to Succeed in the NFL? - burst 10
"Okay. This next receiver is a guy that you and i are. differ a lot on and with twenty fifth pick of the second round. The la rams selected to at well from louisville. Receive our end. I get their concerns. Ideal disguise five nine hundred fifty five hundred sixty pounds. People are questioning whether he's gonna be physical enough in the nfl. however this is a player. The i compare to markey's brown. I think that in order to be successful. He's going to have to gain a little bit more weight. But i think that to out will be able to develop especially with the la rams who don't need in the -sarily to be great outta the gecko. But i think that the upside for two atwal is especially there especially if he's going to have the matthew stafford throwing the ball and so it was back to murky brown when he was in college him and he had similar stats. Which is why. I'm bringing up the comparison the first place in his junior. He had seventy five receptions for one thousand three hundred eighteen yards in ten touchdowns. Now let me bring up to two atwal stats from his sophomore season. And they were very similar which end so to atwell in his sophomore year he had sixty nine sevens for one thousand two hundred seventy two yards and eleven receiving touchdowns and so these two guys. Besides the fact marquees brown ways a little bit more to travel or comparable. And if you're an you're seeing now to to out while falling to the fourth maybe even fifth out of your dynasty da and for me. I think that's a little bit ridiculous. Because for a guy that had a similar career to marquees brat and his cod season and similar upset that he should be considered a third round prospect for you and your dynasty rookie draft. And i'd say right now. Marcus brand is probably a second round. Pick but i think he could be worth a second or the round pick and this guy. Who's extremely fast as well. I think he's going to create separations and he's not just the speedster. He's not just the speedster he he gets receptionist as well on anyone who puts up almost thirteen hundred receiving yards in college. Season is a guy that is a good all amount of receiver as well. So don't just think of him as a speedster guy gonna occasionally break open deep here and there so yeah. I'm a big fan of to at wall of the i know Oh and one one last thing. He was picked in the second round so clearly. The rams do have a plan for two while. They're not just investing a second round pick in a receiver that they don't see being a great receiver in the long term and this by the way was the rams first pick all draft. If i'm correct so they might have even viewed him as a late first round pick. We don't know. But the fact that they spent their first round pick onto to By having good receivers shows you how much demands believe into Anyways kyle the floor is yours as to why you don't believe in to atwell. Well it says so much that i don't believe in two two at well. It's the fact. That so i am from louisville in. I watched a lot of this kid. He is a very good receiver. I agree with you. He's not just a burner. he is a good polish receiver and a lot of facets of football but my biggest problem is literally is just. This is and the fact that he's completely buried on the depth chart. I don't see any Any possibility of him getting in and becoming a number one receiver on that team like anytime. Soon robert woods. Anne cooper kupp. Both resigned extensions For last year So you already got those positions locked up now. You lose josh rhinos. But they already spent high draft capital on jefferson. Dan jefferson last year. So that position was already and then they spent another was a third or early fourth round. Pick onto harris harris could be used as a tight end. I think a lot of people saying he's going to be a tight end he he. They say he's listed as a tight end but he also weighs about twenty so if anything he's going to be like a a move titan. I don't see him being like inland blocker. But you already have tyler higby as well. You know it's just it's just a really crowded And you also have to sean jackson that they stopped they brought in you know so i. I'm just not sold that there's any opportunity for at least in the first year to now you like you said maybe a if you invest in this guy at the late third fourth round Me personally i'd rather just take dark throws on running backs. At this point you know even a third. The guys are projected to be thirds shrink or shrink. You know a rash of injuries and all of a sudden guys are going to get plight. Be starters and they're going to be valuable. You can train them. You know it would take a stream lee amount of circumstances for for you to for him to get on the plainfield him to productive enough for another team to to trade for him. It's just wide receivers just a position that you know if you don't put up stats people don't really wanna trade for him at all. I mean it's as simple as that you know and i know he has draft capital That's about the only thing. I think he has known. Form at one hundred fifty five pounds. I just don't know if it's worth the headache you know. But then again it only takes one person to trade and if you're only drafting him with the mindset of trading him than you're probably not gonna draft to tell to till In the first place. And if i don't know if it necessarily applies to atwells value the fact that the community hates him. Because there's going to be at least one guy and if you put up the stats. People are going to be willing to trade for him. So i i get that point but at the same time. I don't know if that necessarily applies to At wellness fair. Knock about the onto to at atwill. Because it's not actually something that to two at walt dead. It's more of the perception that people have about two. But it's it's what he didn't do. He didn't gain the weight which i think he will in the way he's still what in nineteen twenty years old. I think he's still

"I'm sitting here with a gentleman named Daniel Schuman pronounce that crackling corrector, Daniel Shuman and actually Ganal reached out to me several months ago after hearing the plan strong podcast. Because he had a friend who was suffering from I believe it was some krones or else right of colitis and you were wondering if I if I had any advice or recommendations and I and I sent you a a whole protocol. It was based on a woman out of Columbus Ohio doctor Dr Pam Popper and did anything ever come of that. So you know one thing I've learned in this whole journey of mine is that I can't change people I could try my best I try to present as much information as I can. It's much. That's backed up by science. Ultimately. It was up to my friends who make decision I think. Obviously. He's in his own journey and he's going to have to figure things out and unfortunately I haven't been too successful within thus far. But I, believe in laying the groundwork at least and hopefully giving him some of the tools to come to his own decision one day and maybe See, some relief that he can get because he really is suffering a tremendous amount and the and you. You mentioned a little earlier that. So you you've had some phenomenal success and we'll get into kind of your story and your journey. But when you had that kind of success, you WANNA scream it from the mountaintops eight and. Because it seems so obvious that Oh my gosh I mean this is going to cure everything that ails you. And yet, people tend to push back a little bit right and so what have you found is kind of the smartest tactic as far as with friends, family co workers, and trying to impress US lifestyle upon them. So I think the biggest thing that is an individual canoe is to lead by example to show, and it's pretty obvious anyone who's seen me who's followed me the last couple of years has seen a tremendous improvement in my life in every aspect of it and if they can see. Especially, someone who knew me well, beforehand, they knew I was not a fitness guy I was not someone who Generally worked very hard on himself. especially when it came to nutrition health fitness and if they can see that someone like me can do something like this and the positive impact, it's had on every aspect of my life. Medically. Socially emotionally, my relationship, my children, my relationship with my wife, my intimacy it's really an unbelievable. Thing to see and. I think was a little bit guilty in the beginning of being a little bit maybe to gung-ho and trying to because as you said, it does seem so obvious it seems that there's so much science. This. Isn't just a fad this the way I see it. Hopefully learning throughout my whole life and I not I'm not a scientist. I'm not a doctor. I'm not gonNA pretend that I have all the answers to everything. But it seems pretty clear to me that this is something real and I know you've seen it. I've seen it so many times with people who have. Not, only prevented diseases but reversed it and have regained their lives and have become empowered to do something and to really change their lives in the people's lives around them. So. Yeah. Just being that example showing people this is something to do you know when people talk to you about protein and you know that's a sure you get that all the time where's your protein come from when you're eating a plant based? Diet. And if I could lead by example, say, Hey, look protein deficient you're not could show the my numbers from when I get blood work at the doctor's office. And that's that's where I'm at right now I was just trying to be that example China show hey, this is an alternative I'm not going to. Have the Hubris to tell you, I know all the answers to everything but this is at least an alternative if you WANNA go down. So many of the popular roots these days. This is a way to do it mindful way to do it. Really. Isn't I don't think it's not difficult honestly at the end of the day and. Just, it's possible as an alternative. So let's let's talk about that for a SEC. So you said you don't think it's that difficult what? Let's. Let's discuss your journey a little bit show. Where were you not mistaken? You started this journey into how April two thousand seventeen is that right? That makes it able to thousand seventeen I was twenty nine years old what inspired it? So I mean. It's a good question I. I was obese most of my life morbidly obese most of my life and every day was really a struggle was there's a lot of discomfort when that big you know my my biggest I was about three hundred and fifty five pounds. Not Comfortable way to live. So right off the bat, just being that big I don't believe I was ever complacent with a something that let me ask you this. So you say it wasn't comfortable being that big. What are some of the things that somebody that is? Three fifty and what are you? Like six, one, a non five ten okay. Okay. So three fifty, five, five, ten, what are some of the things that are uncomfortable almost everything just being in public being taking the train in on a normal day squeezing next to people you know at its most extreme I went on a family vacation to universal studios in the in Florida and I was very excited to go in this Harry Potter I. They have their this isn't in big castle. We waited online and get to the ride and we go to sit down and the harness won't close on me substitute big to fit in the.

"And DVD Hey doctor leader men were back we are back ordered when a man who was born in Chicago I just saw him yesterday sixty six years old he's married and he came with terrible terrible back pains have back pain for four months and you went to the bone doctor orthopedic Anne had X. rays and he complained of pain is bought talk and well the orthopedic seven to an oral surgeons and neurosurgeons sort of injecting steroids into the spine that they're going to work and then you have a spinal MRI at one of the hospitals in the New York area and they said whether spinal stenosis and then there's the back surgeon neurosurgeon operated on him for spinal stenosis and while he didn't get any better and it got worse and worse and worse and worse and in terrible pain and then I got an MRI this is all in the last few weeks about two months eight weeks he got an MRI of the pelvis and whoa he was found to have a mass in this pelvis and he had cancer eating through his bones and then he went to a hospital in New York area he had chemotherapy which made him feel terrible and you had radiation treatments and review the radiation records it looks like they gave a dose that was too low to the wrong area he was complaining of terrible pain in the **** talks he had a biopsy of this mass it was added NO carcinoma poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma the site is unknown in America a significant share up to twenty percent of head and neck and other cancers are known primary on known primary the primaries never known and most people don't talk about why haven't unknown primary prostate cancer breast cancer lung cancer but most people don't talk about known primary which means the tests don't show where the cancer started just that it spread to the stage for he came to me very discouraged she couldn't sit down isn't so much praise of tall slender man you couldn't sit down because it's so much pain in those products and we had lots of time to study of lots of tests done and he got a chemo doctor that was pushing among chemo chemo chemo but he took the chemo and it just doesn't help women and feel terrible he lost fifty five pounds in this short period time went from two hundred and five to a hundred sixty pounds fifty five pounds in a matter of weeks and he's six feet tall he is terrible pain he has narcotics is reluctant to take everything's gonna get addicted and then we went through the tests and was doctor told him of the brain scans the head scan was all okay and when I looked at the the scan with the patient yesterday well there were four metastases in his head and while the patient became even more dissolution number one is are getting better with the standard radiation and better with the chemotherapy was getting worse and worse and worse and then they realized that he wasn't being told all the facts and then his doctor who told the world so slow growing cancer when in fact this man has cancers spread in multiple sites in disco he has a lytic lesion a cancer it in through the right hip and left hip and C. spine and the muscles around the spine the lumbar spine the inguinal areas the Drano the pancreas multiple areas he had chemo wasn't better it's standard radiation you wasn't better at one of the big hospitals in New York area and he came here to get better it came here to find out the facts and boy oh boy did he and his wife learn a lot in one hour together and points out several things house standard radiation and how radiosurgery is so different that we can give more intense treatment that's more focus to the cancer in a shorter period of time with higher success and that's number one thing that this mandated more success more focused higher does it last time number two he needed to have communication with his doctors and his doctors told him the brain had scanned was a okay and in fact the report showed for metastases there is a lack of trust between the patient and the doctor and the doctor wants to keep on giving chemotherapy is not working and nothing's working and then the doctor tells him it's a slow growing cancer in the men's lost fifty five pounds in a matter of weeks with cancer widespread it's clear there should be a lack of trust and that's what's happened in this patient with his doctors who've given given immunotherapy and chemotherapy and radiation and that's why so many people transfer their care here because here we believe the patient is the president of the United States of his body and this man is in terrible pain and terrible suffering and this is the work we do we often see very complex cases of people have gone elsewhere just because you're gone elsewhere and just because you've had chemo or immunotherapy or standard radiation doesn't mean all hope is lost we often see patients like him that we can stop the cancer and stop the pain and reverse the course and this is what we do so commonly and that's why it's so important to get a fresh second opinion it's not that big of me it's not bigamy to call two one two choices and schedule a date for a fresh second opinion like this man who in one hour an hour and a half learned so much about his body he's wants us to get involved he trusts center stands a communication is important in a sense good treatments important he understands of so important understands the rationale of radiosurgery compared to standard radiation or a lot of healthy tissue gets radiated verses radiosurgery with focused on the cancer with a few high doses that is very successful even for aggressive cancers like this even for metastatic cancers like this even for stage four cancers like this this is the work we do every day so often people comments he doctor Lieberman to treat stage four cancer the.

"I can do this job. It's like but tell me why let's really get into this like. What are you going to bring to this. <hes> and i think when someone shows that they can not only just do the job on paper because that changes so fast like were growing like crazy so you're not going to be doing the same thing that you came in to do in a couple of months but it's when they can really show that they're going to be a positive impact on our culture that i really sit up and take notice your way to build glossies way of doing things above and beyond just doing your job. We know a lot about glossy right now. Don't we currently yeah. We could write the encyclopedia entry but i think people want to know about emily to write the creator and yeah i. I thought she was really wonderful. When we met her yet she was gorgeous. I will admit i was a little bit intimidated. I kind of had that feeling of my belly like when i interview a celebrity like oh. I'm just intimidated because she's such a pretty person like honestly comes in looking like an actress lino just like the perfect five. Oh one you're like where'd you get those like camel coat victorian blouse sneakers and like her hair just so silky yeah you know and so i just kinda like erskine as well oh yeah so and then we're in this polaroid picture together and she's in the middle with their arms draped around us just like so casual and and i'm like half a photo way no. I think it's a cute photo but it's funny. You mentioned that because we asked emily what the one thing is that a lot of people don't know about her and you know it kind of doctors so in that case we asked morgan who is in the room with her and got hurt away in. I think you come off a lot more serious than you actually are law googlers earlier than i think people expect more uh-huh. I'm kind of what you see is what you get like me on instagram kind of the same as mu in real life is the same as me at work. I'm mad silly. It's actually really true. I'm also. I think people don't realize that i'm actually really nerdy. I get the cool girl thing i mean. She does look like a model she she though in person is very very approachable. Yes she totally. She sat down with us. She's like how long have you guys been doing this. You know she was great and i think to that point i think people do you want to know more about her and also how she looked so great so we did ask her some questions about what herself care routine is like i recently took up vedic meditation so i try meditate at least once a day for twenty minutes in the morning when i wake up and hopefully twenty twenty minutes in the afternoon but that one's a lot harder i also love baths. I take i take a bath almost every night especially in the winter like when it's it's not hot out i usually do it with either epsom salt and a half a box of armand hammer baking soda or i'll do himalayan sea salt that i buy in bulk. I just bought a fifty five pound delivery of himalayan sea salt. We also asked her about her. Favorite beauty hacks acs one that i recently have taken up is spraying my beauty blender with rosewater messed with <hes> soothing face mist instead of just is usually like running it under the sink. It smells wonderful another beauty hack with glossy products. Oh i blend together puff and beam of cloud paint to make my own custom blush color. I joke that this brand is like a cult but really it's like a giant girls. Club is where people are trading trading these types of tips and you know what they're loving and i think that's really one of the points that emily wanted to make with glossy is like you in the past would go oh into a drugstore..

How Much Does This Cow Weigh?
"Golden was the kind of person who believes in experts, you know, people who had studied things people who knew stuff he figured they knew things that ordinary people just did not. I mean, of course, they did. Right, obviously elimidate golden goes to a country fair. This is about one hundred years ago in England. And there's this contest going on at the fair guests the way to the ox, Goldens, a scientist and statistician and he figures, hey, I can do an experiment here. Right. He's figures I'm going to take. Everyone's guesses take the average and compare that to the actual weight of the ox. We heard the story from James, sir, Wicky, he's an economics journalist. So he thought what you were gonna end up with was a really flawed guess because in his mind what you were doing was you were taking guesses of few smart people a few mediocre people. And then a lot of morons because he basically everywhere. Everywhere. So he figured the the the group's gas was going to be way way off the Mark the contest organizers gave golden the little slips of paper with everyone's guesses on them. He took them calculated. The average the average was eleven hundred ninety seven pounds and the ox the ox weighed eleven hundred and ninety eight pounds. So that in other words, the crowds judgment was essentially perfect one pound off one pound of this is super creepy. What's going on here? Is there? Some kind of like collective unconscious. Magic is like a ouija board or something. Right. But the idea that underlies this it is everywhere. The idea of the stock market, you know, thousands of random people buying and selling shares like when you hear that apple stock went up or the Dow plunged that's basically people guessing the weight of an ox, it's everywhere. Right. It's it's the price of oil. It's the price of orange juice all kinds of things that are really important to the world work exactly this way. But why should it work? Why should a bunch of random people a lot of whom have no idea what they're doing somehow magically produce an answer. That makes sense does this really work. And if it does why. Hello and welcome to planet money. I'm Jacob Goldstein. And I'm David Kessler inbound today on the show, Mr. golden, we redo your experiment. What's the Cas name, Penelope Penelope? Now that my says has lost all its territory what happens to the people left behind. She chose to take. So that she should starting Syria on raw and what about their children? How it ends a new series on embedded. So we came up with a plan to repeat, Goldens experiment. Find a fair and a cow in a big scale to weigh cow. And then he grit in the grit, and then we were going to throw the question out to the crowd. Ask the world. How much does this cow way? We didn't want to just limit it to people at the fair. So we figured we'd take some pictures post them online and asked the whole world to guest. So we went out to county fair in Burlington county, New Jersey, we met Penelope the cow in the dairy tent. She was sitting on a bunch of. Hey juiston. Kuzmich was taking care of her. Can you just describe what she looks like? Yeah. She's mostly black. She has white legs. And she has a white spot in the middle of her head, but she big black cow. What did you say? So I said holy cow without even realizing saying she's much bigger. She just stood up. She's walking out of the barn now. And she's way bigger than I thought when she was sitting down. We took some pictures of you Jacob standing next to the cow for scale and just for finally decided to ask people at the fair how much they thought Penelope wait as it happen. It was kids days. So there are a lot of kids. Which was fine. You know, non-experts what's your name K? Look how much do you think? Now ways. Six pounds. How'd you come up with that number? 'cause I'm six years old. You guys want to guess how much this Calloway's sixty hundred pounds six thousand. Dear how much you weigh? Not at all. I'm sympathetic looking at L P. I had no idea how much she weighed. Like, I didn't even know how to think about it that way more than my car that you a less than my car. I don't even know how much my car was more than a cow. I wanna say more than a cow. We found an older group of kids and yet they also guest on the low side, but they had this bigger problem. This this really more worrying thing, and it was a problem that adults also seem to have. And it was this the first kid said a number, and then all the other kids said, basically, the same number numbers that were like too close to the I it's like they're incapable of guessing anything different. How old are you? I'm ten how much do you think that cow ways? He'll hundred pounds. My news Gabriella, I'm ten and I think the cow as three hundred pounds. My name is kid nine seven years old, and I think the cow weighs three hundred pounds. People are not that different from cows. We heard if we don't know something we look for a leader. Even if the leader, maybe doesn't know any kanobi finished chewing, and we took her over to be weighed. It's actually pretty unusual to one away cow and the scale they had of the fair was not for. What kind of scale is this? It's actually like a truck scales. What it's for same sauce scale use for big trucks and stuff, which we use it the way the tractors during the tractor pool for the work it'll work for a cow. Yup. Testing bam. You were obsessed paranoid. Arguably paranoid about keeping the result of this secret. You didn't want it to leak out? I guess Gan all of these people had gathered actually, can we can we clear commune seriously clear, everybody out except for just a minimum of people. Like, can we swear you? Okay. Just see everybody else. Everybody else over there. Here's sin walked Penelope up onto the scale. We watched this little digital display. Okay. It's one thousand three hundred and fifty five pounds. One thousand three hundred and fifty five pounds. We walked Penelope back to the dairy tent. And then we went home the next day. We posted photos online of the Cowan you may right. I was there to give some sense of perspective. We put you on the tractor scale. Yes. Hundred and sixty five pounds that much. That's how much I weigh then our colleague courtroom buoy here. Put it all up online guests the weight of this cow, and the ideal was our hope was that lots and lots of people would guess because the fundamental question here. The thing we're trying to figure out is if you have a bunch of random people making their best guests at something. Do you get close to you know, the truth? Do you get close to the right answer? So we put it up, and we waited for the results to come in. All right. It's been up for how long now two minutes comedy entries as fifteen inches reload. Reload. Here we go. Still fifteen still fifteen come on. Oh my God. That's all we're gonna get fifteen. We'll re tweet this.

"See two thirty six to Saturday to interim titles on the line Holloway is the main event rematch of a fight that happened back in February of two thousand twelve you've spent time with max hallway earlier this week. And I think it's great for Holloway that leading up to this fight. There's not a lot of talk about you know, his his head and his way cut and him slowing. The words remember going to your take a fight his last fight in December. It was like he was under the finest of of microscopes, everyone was just like scrutinizing every single thinki- did and said. This time. It feels like there's a lot of that pressure off his shoulders. Are you getting that sense from him this time, could you tell us what sort of mind said he's in as he prepares for this one fifty five pound title fight. Yeah. I mean maximum has sort of that demeanor where his cool cucumber. You know? I mean, you could kind of pick up on it around the or ticket stuff because he would get just a little bit snappier if reporters asked him about, you know, how the weight, and you know, he would get kind of educated and say, I've never missed weight, you know, like pulled from fights. But look back on my record. I've never missed weight and get agitated about that. But by and large even even during those times, it's been. Work with calm. Confident. I mean that that's that's sort of what has come to define max. And that's what makes them so special makes it so good. But he's just so comfortable in the fight week. And then in the fight itself. So that's what he was when I was within this weekend. I can't say that like I saw him. And I was like, wow. This is a different max I've never seen before because he's been that way before. But of course, you know, I think I'm happy not see him cut down to one forty five for this light. I'm excited about that. And I think that this. I think he's team is aware that this is one of those maybe last fights where max is is kind of on a rocket ship right now, he could be you know, he wins this fight. You know, you mentioned this on your show. And it's what I've heard as well that you'll see would like be fighting Dhabi Semper maximum this. And you're talking about him fighting could be which is one of the biggest fights of the year is not decided a year. There's a potential rematch out there. There's you know, at that point he'd be a two way champion. So he is like right on that customer rocket ship of going superstar. And I think I think they know that and they understand. That and they're doing sort of last kind of where he's a champion, and and he's one of the best fighter in the world. But he can still walk around in a public place and really not notice I think that they know that that's about strange, you get the sense that he's kind of playing with houses money here. Because if he loses he still the one forty five pound champion if Pori loses who knows when he'll ever get another crack at a belt of any kind. I mean, it was so hard from just to get this title shot eating get one in WC and taking him so long to get you see tennis. Oh, feels like there's like an immense amount of pressure on poor ya, and there's really no pressure on hallway..

"Today is the day where names are flying NFL free agents who's going where the raiders have added Trent Brown, but the latest is at the forty Niners have made a signing. Kwan Alexander signs a four year deal fifty four million dollars for the weakside linebacker. He's a stack linebacker played with Tampa. Good player, but he's coming off an ACL but six one about two thirty runs real. Well makes a ton of tackles coming off the ACL. There was a lot of thought that maybe he would resign in Tampa. He's only twenty four years old. And you know, he's he's got he's a guy who's sideline to sideline you can run. He can break down on the open field against an athlete. And that's what this game is becoming the NFL. It's no longer the two hundred and fifty five pound take on guard, stack and shed game nemo, no more. That's not the game anymore. You better be able to get out and space cover somebody in an open the open field breakdown in open spaces against an athlete and bring him to the ground. You better be able to do it pretty consistently and Alexander when healthy he Alexander's guy who can do that. He's he's a really good Blitzer. And he's got a lot of speed. This guy's gonna play in the sub packages. He's nice now he's coming off. The I don't know how. How much you'll be able to contribute right away. But he's a good player. He's a good player. And he's a really productive tackler. If you look up some of his stats skies makes a lot of plays, and he should help should help a defense that you know, they got Warner. But they don't have a whole lot at linebacker. So this is a guy who can cover a tight end. This is a guy who can break down in space make plays you know, as I said sideline to sideline. And if he's healthy should be a nice pickup, by the way. We should tell you before we go.

"More than fifty five pounds worth an estimated one point eight million dollars. Similarly over the weekend checkpoint agents stopped to separate methamphetamine smuggling attempts resulting in the seizure of nearly one hundred pounds of meth estimated value of over three million dollars. But that's okay. Because you know, the dams are fine. What the current levels of fatal drug overdoses in the United States of America seventy thousand Americans died from fatal drug overdoses in two thousand seventeen why we don't have the numbers for two thousand eighteen I don't know. But I haven't seen them. There is a bit of a trap. Here are a potential trip. You know, the Democrats we were talking about this yesterday, and I played a little bit of CNN or audio. And there was more that I could have played from the various democrat television entities. They have been nudging the Democrats saying, well, you know, gosh, it looks like if Friday comes in the government shuts down it looks like the Democrats might actually take the fall because they're the obstructionists. Right. And and now today the Democrats had performed a little bit of a judo move here on the inept, incompetent or. Disinterested. Republicans on Capitol Hill. The Richard Shelby of the world who probably really don't want more border security in the first place because they're go along to get along rhinos for the most part, and they're not standing up for what the voters wanted. They're they're just kind of letting it roll over them. And they're and they're fine with that. Now, what what I digress. What what happened here is that the the political geometry has changed overnight. And it's the fault of the Republicans who were negotiating with the Democrats yesterday and the Democrats betrayed them. Again, the moment they walked out the door leaking their version of the deal to their allies in the news media who dutifully smirk carry it forward. Now, everything now looks like well, there's an offer on the table and they've come to it. So if the president doesn't accept it. Then Trump shut down the government. That's what happened here. That's what the Democrats pulled last night. They shifted the political responsibility for a Friday shut down to Trump and away from them. And I think the Republicans in congress kind of see it this way too because it doesn't go to the Republicans in congress the fault for the shutdown. It all goes to Trump. So in reality, politically, the Republicans in there negotiating on behalf of Republican voters nationwide. Just they're the ones who gave up the ghost here. They're the ones who capitulated they're the ones who. And honestly, they've they're they're tricking the president and they're sticking it to the president. The president is now the villain on Friday. If the deal doesn't go through right? That's what the Democrats accomplished yesterday. There's nothing really for there's nothing. It's fifty five miles of border barrier. That's not nothing. That's it's two thousand mile long border. The Democrats know that and I've said this many times, you can spend billions and billions of dollars to know affect and they're fine with that. In fact, that's what they want. They want to spend billions. So they can go on with their ally. George Stephanopoulos, and they can say we've authorized x number of billions of dollars. They've just done it in ways that they believe will be incredibly ineffective that won't work that it's not their money. They don't mind spending. That's why we have twenty one twenty two trillion dollar national debt because these clowns don't care about us or about anyone else other than themselves. But if they can say, well, we had an offer on the table that was agreed to in principle by the Republicans on Capitol Hill, which is what the Democrats leaked. Last night in violation of their agreement. Then then the responsibility goes to President Trump for any government shutdown, and what's on the table is really basically a a pittance in the scheme of things. Now, the president also has been painted into a bit of a corner with this national emergency or state of emergency on the border thing. That media lies about that all the time to their dozens of these national emergencies in effect right now, Barack Obama declared states of emergency again. And again when he was president. But now, they're like, oh, this is unprecedented because they lie about everything. And it's just sorting through the lies takes most of your day. And then you're exhausted by you get back to your life and the liars on Capitol Hill of one at south where they exhaust by their fanaticism. Right. But the the dollar figures are not good. What should the president? Do. I think if the president has tricks up his sleeve as the chief of staff suggested on Sunday, I think if there are other pools of money that he can tap into. If he can get construction projects up and running then perhaps you take the deal, but he's going to have to be able to convince his voters and supporters that he is getting closer to the goal closer to the goal. And then there's this. There's this other reality. We talk about the Democrats all the time we've been talking about this for years how they're the fanaticism with which they pursue their their generation long objectives. They always take twenty five percent of the pie. When there's twenty five percent of the pie to take. And then they declared she hot on the other seventy five percent of the pie. They'll take what's in front of them. They'll grab the money because they're like Bank robbers, and and we always indict the Republicans for that. I I'd say that the Republicans on Capitol Hill the Shelby's the negotiating team for the Republicans. They have I I'll say let us down. I'd say that they failed. I'd say that they were not the people that we should have sent in to negotiate. I'd say that they are weak and feckless and that there probably disinterested in additional border security themselves that they are okay. With the seventy thousand fatal drug overdoses in two thousand seventeen. They too are okay. With the level of gang activity and gang violence in the United States. They're comfortable with that burden on our hospitals in our schools, and our jails our courts and everything else they're fine with all that because it doesn't affect them directly. And they gave the president and all of us. What is a not great deal fifty five miles where you want. Five point seven billion this year, you'll get one point three seven five. So plus you got sucked out between her teeth and anti we'd we one more. So it's not it's not it's got nothing to do with securing the border. It's whether Pelosi can say they got less than what they wanted. And and therefore it's a victory for us say they've shorted the American people, and they're proud of themselves for it. They genuinely are. And they got a reduction in the number of beds is actually a reduction compared to what was on the table in December one point six billion dollars on the table in December that deal was turned down. We went to the government shutdown now, the Republicans come back and say, okay, we'll take one point three seven fuck. These guys are not negotiators. They suck the the Republicans that that are responsible for this. Are awful. And I don't know why we don't have real negotiators in there with real negotiate, and they're all afraid of the government shutdown, and they're too stupid to know that the Democrats were in a position to take the fall on Friday and. Yet other a couple of different ways to look at it. And I want to hear from the president on this. I want to I wanna hear what the president has in mind has anybody noticed that the president spent a little more a little more measured lightly? And that includes the state of the union, and and some other public, declarations and statements and moments where he's been presented by the news media with opportunities to to step in it, and he hasn't and and he hasn't even tweeted about this agreement in principle. It's nine forty seven in the morning, and he hasn't even talked about it. I just say I mentioned this to my best girl yesterday or Sunday. I think I've seen a change in the president's behavior in the last weeks, not months couple of weeks, and that maybe he's taken the Dow from eleven to ten or or something I'm I'm not taking that to the Bank yet. But I'm watching very carefully. Now, do you take the one point three seven five billion or do you shut the government down? Because now it's all Trump's fault yesterday. It was going to be the Democrats fault. Even CNN was forced to admit that yesterday and the Republicans who went in there and negotiate it just gave the Democrats on the hill. Everything they want it. Now, how does the president dig himself out of the hole that the Republicans on the hill placed him into do you shut down the government on Friday? Oh, and I I feel for the employees a lot of government employees around here. We're very directly affected by these government shutdowns. And I gotta say, you know, who was the liar. Say well, the government employees cannot be used as pawns animal. Of course, you're using them as pawns, they're they're using you as on the Democrats to a lesser extent. The Republicans are using you as pawns, and look what the Democrats are fighting for here is open. Borders says to not secure the border is to release more illegals into our country. They don't care what kind of crimes they committed. We've got who's this nitwits? Menendez, right? You have the Menendez cut from yesterday. Senator Bob Menendez is the one with the, you know, the underage girls, and the the doctor pal who's in prison, and and all of that good stuff. He was on with wolf Blitzer. Wolf Blitzer was talking to Senator Robert Menendez. The democrat from New Jersey. Talking about illegals and the president is making people illegal just for illegally entering our country. And what what you you're a lawmaker look at your business card. Blink real hard a couple of times. And then join reality wolf Blitzer and Senator Robert Menendez, the democrat who just narrowly escaped a prison sentence a couple of years ago. It's still a democrat in good standing, and he's like what what drunk driving. What we call illegal aliens are inter-country barreling around the roads drunk without a driver's license. We call them illegal we'd actually arrest people like that what kind of a country is this the deputy director of ice says a cap on beds in his words would be extremely damaging to the public safety of this country. Was that for a second. You see that that was the Democrats being painted into a corner and the Republicans had the high ground yesterday yesterday they were in position to take this fight to Friday, and the Democrats were going to be forced to capitulate because even CNN. Had to point out again. And again that the Democrats wouldn't take. Yes. For an answer. The Democrats are not listening to experts. The Democrats are not listening to law enforcement. The Democrats are making life more dangerous even CNN they were they were sort of cringing when they were saying Alison Cammarata yesterday, and so on and then Senator Menendez responded, the reason that they are already eight thousand over there budgeted amount. So they're violating non-response is because.

"Like. What if you need milk, and can you run out and get it? What do you do? Are you hunker down in front of the fireplace with every blanket on in the house? Kirti much hunker down our grocery stores, close they even stopped a rural mail delivery. So I won't get mail today. What else did they closed down schools man gas stations are closed libraries closed. Our urgent care is closed. My goodness. If you needed nine one one I hope to God, you never do. But if you needed nine one one would they be able to get to you? Yes. Nine one one is operating the sheriff's departments operating. I moved from six million people in Phoenix give or take to fifteen hundred people. So there's a lot less services up here. So I guess the question is is not what's closed down. What the heck is still open. Yeah. And my town the Dollar General is open Dollar General poll. Okay. I haven't left my house, but the Dollar General is open. All right. Is that a dollar store is that what that is? Yeah. It's kind of like a really tiny like WalMart type store. I hope they sell mittens or something over there in good sold out eight. Oh my gosh. So that's the only thing open the store. All the restaurants and town close Angela is used to be a Phoenix resident for nine years. She moved to the upper peninsula of Michigan says one fifteen is worse than minus twenty at the very wrong time, you sort of waited a year. Angelo. That's for sure we're kind of joking around. But I mean, the the important question is Amazon prime still available. Can you still order some mittens and get it delivered same day? We don't have same day here. That's an outrage me to be back to Phoenix a third world country. Angela come on. So you know, you're in for cold. But seriously, how are you dealing with it is it so bone chilling that you just can't get comfortable kind of like the heat. You can get so hot. You just can't get comfortable even at night to sleep extra blankets. I have a hundred and fifty five pound dog that snuggled up you just deal with it. You learn to adapt. Well, no wonder you move from Phoenix two hundred and fifty pound dog was making your sweat all the time. Yeah. That's true. Exactly. Well, can the dog outside to do his.

"Hundred fifty five pounds of campaign, lose any weight and mattress gonna have me. I don't go really the doctor that much like ever and there I'm just gonna die like one day. I was going to have a piece of fried chicken, or whatever and will be an just won't realize the whole bodies club because I just won't know the difference. That's what's gonna that's how. No, I've lived the good life. Still young. You can host the spy herself. I yeah. I I mean, the idea that like I I mean, we feel bad for ceasing everything and his health is the priority. But like the fact that our fifth starter just like has a heart problem and really not great. I hope I wanna feel bad for me. Also, like, it's like, okay, maybe we should address like this. You know, have an option for if C C, you know, get sick or something during the cease there are two now major issues with our starter. He has a crying need problem that he's had surgery on the off season like three years in a row, and he's got a heart issue, and we're just going to go into the season with and he's fat. Yeah. Which is thing he said on the podcast will has he says why retired from baseball after this year? He's gonna lose a lot of weight. He won't lose it. On ironic. No, I think Ruko of seriously. I listen back. No, I'm pretty sure he said that seriously, and he's like, well you should to complete opposite. Usually, you're not playing anymore. You're just gonna fat peach ship when coal pro athlete thing out of the way. I'll probably try to get in shape. Maybe it's almost like he admits that like the fat is. I mean, he's right. He knew remember when he tried to lose a lot of weight like was actually terrible. So that he just he kind of does knows gonna be fat fat guy in order to pitch in. It's just such an interesting than ever. I can see me when you think about all the issues seat like he's just fat like hit, Al alcoholic issues Mia, shoe hard issues. Guys or some shit. He's gotta run a hell of a book. Wait book is can be fire account. Yeah. I don't read much. I think the last thing I read it was like gang story in like fifth grade. But the holocaust I'll read cici's book hundred percent. I probably reading any more than two pages. I'll rea- five hundred page book about from CeCe. No doubt about it. He seen shipment to the whole thing. Like, I think now we can trade sunny, I think we got the clear because he passed the stress test fully, and he's completely clear by doctors said he's good to go. But I is that mean we can trade sunny or do we kinda have to hang on. 'cause she's like yelling veteran experienced now that could be crazy that we may go into opening day with sunny grain Greg bird on this team and Bryce Harper. Manny Machado, not like how pathetic is that? How pathetic is that? Unbelievable. Literally. Unbelievable. I mean. Yeah, I guess. Yeah. They could. I mean, I don't know you think that was the hold up. They had a war. It was the whole. Yeah. But they had time before they knew CC was having these problems to trade him in. They had it. They didn't know who's about the die. Right. They had time to trade sunny before the show while I think in general he wanted to wait out the market. So that he finds teams that need starters. Like, there's really no he's the best option. Think waiting always is progress, but not like January thirteenth waiting. It seems like it's the Padres reds. But I don't fuck it. No, they'll show someone is discussed possibly packing him with end heart, which I think would hurt and hearts value. But right. Attaching and with grey to you wanna treat into heart for starter. Yeah. Let's what team is going to give you a another be weird star. I dunno patching sunny to Miguel heart does anything to increase the value trade. Yeah. Now doesn't make sense at all really. Fucking suck..
