"Yeah i don't wanna feel like. I'm teaching all the time. I not stupid being find an old soul. Who's like twenty four. who knows. My type is definitely smart. Come home without. I come home with eighteen year old person and be like hi family like i feel. I don't know. I don't have ever been at the moment. We're going through some sort of like midlife crisis but wouldn't say that's so nice. We're so happy for you. Know it'd be thinking not lockers. I feel like i get older every day people would be like. Oh my god you guys are so cute. And then behind their back. They'd be like whoa. What's his problem. X-rayed siblings who were like nineteen twenty twenty one. So i don't think i could date someone as young as them so alien to me. The thing is my dating was never date someone younger than your sister and we only have two year difference so right now the question i've made a lot of mistakes and all of them were overage. There's three things that i think are important to know for any millennial that is thinking about dating agenda thing number one. Don't you can't use the laughing face emoji because they don't think it's cool. Oh yeah apparently the number ten berry millennial thing i don't like that they like after by genes that i was talking about buying jen's jeans where can i buy them by the ones with the big hoopla engines are out for them they hate. It are out. For jesse hates millennials. We can wear them all day. Okay okay but they don't like it so like the merger big ugly nineties jeans pretty much you find these ugly and the third thing that you can no longer say you call me and make that like thumb and finger thing. They do this like mommy what this is. That's that's no longer phone this this listeners. I'm so sorry that you can't see but Formerly what would happen as you put your pinky near her mouth. And then your thumb your ear and that was called me now apparently to flat hand. Because that's how you hold yourself on the we're learning new things every day. It's horrifying okay. Well i i've used none of this and still hooked up with gen z. So but i. I do like the i fan of the nineties jeans because i love i love. The ninety fashion is back now. Because it's kind of messy and like disgusting but like cool. Yeah and i bought myself some light. Wash levi's i had looked so i've been doing whitewash for like the past five years i. I started doing nineties before it came back. I did not do this many squats to leave anyone wondering if you buy the right pair these still now. What i would do is i would go. I would go to like like really really cheap stores and get their super cheap jeans and two. It's like is wasted. No but if it if it's right it's the feds trust me elect phil what is going can i if i make it to holland can i still go to drag branch of very successful drag brench in july. We were completely sold out following corona rules if we had a bottomless white sangria. It was super fine. Performing was my little kuni and the chameleon who we love bottomless. It was a spanish love and we had missed tipsy. Petron does does pull like tap numbers. Jeez life time and this was a theater so god tipsy and your thoughts. Dan's amazing aerial anyway. So had this dry. I'm tipsy yeah. Had a dj. Her name is shady. she also does busi- houses around town. She's amazing so follow her she so we had this dry sold out loved it. I'm meeting this wednesday to possibly do another six. You could come but you would need to get as of this week. A pc artist before going anywhere indoors. Theater bar or restaurant yet. But that won't last too long. There's too many pro doing right now at five filling so i'd have to get tested daily but like also have to get another test before going inside like i'm confused so you'd have to get a test every day so that you could put. That test can be put into the dutch apps so that they can scan it at a museum bar restaurant otherwise you could sit on the terrorists but then you can't come into p icy so they're not going based off of vaccine on the street no because they're cap can't scan your app so the the excelsior my excelsior pass from new york doesn't speak to. The dutch system is my friend from new york. That lives here has the excelsior pass moved here went and got his registered because he has a residence permanent lives here. So now has the full dutch apps from the excelsior. Good thing is though the mayor of amsterdam also said like she's not gonna take a she's going to take everything with a grain of salt because it will kill tourism Be everybody in holland has already fed up with the fact that this had to happen in the first place so embark restaurants even bars themselves are saying like we're not gonna we're gonna put up with this shit For too long anyway so. I think we'll be fine. Fine when they registered as president did they did the excelsior pastor. How did that so what you do is you. Take your proof of vaccination to One of the public health places that happens to be an act and then they're able to register that onto their system. Which then shows up but like you. You wouldn't do it if you're here for five days and so the test is free tourist. Come i take it every morning. But i think it's going to make things a little difficult for us on. We do monday night show with totally events. That's a really good production company here. That is like a seated dinner cabaret show with cartoon chameleon vanity. And everybody's there. And i would say there's quite a few visitors that come to that show every night. We're overbooked by around thirty to fifty seat. And if they have to get thirty to fifty tests and scan them all. That's gonna be rough but i don't think i mean money is money right and luke air. This is the twenty fifth number. This will be when is. When is the podcast gonna cause the nineteenth today. Well well and what is the. What is it. Called.

"All I still on Afghanistan still percolating with many people President Joe Biden. Recently made in appearance. When he was down, Uh, policing and Uh, first hand in Hurricane Ida and other locations. And one of the things that had to do with President Biden in a press conference yesterday was a question that was asked Chris, Uh, there are more terrorists wanted by the FBI in the new Afghan government than there are women. Does the president think that is a foreign policy success? And by the way, the caterwauling was from protesters? I'm sorry in the Northeast, uh, that were upset. With his Afghanistan withdrawal. Chris here a lot of narratives here. Ah, what do you make of this particular one? Don't believe that the as we talked in previous weeks, I don't believe that the withdrawal was handled. It was a colossal failure. Um, it was avoidable, which is even worse, And I don't think that the the administration has a good narrative right now about what's happening in Afghanistan. Not only are there people in a new Taliban government that are on the wanted list, but there are a lot of people in the government who are resuming positions that they held 20 years ago when we overdo them. So this is you know, when you look at the policies of the Taliban and putting in place you look at the, uh, the virtue, the virtue police that they're going to be back on the streets. It's going to be very much the Afghanistan that existed in 2000 and one when we overthrew the Taliban. How do you look at? That is a success. You know, we continually hear there's a flight of Americans apparently who are now out on their way out of Afghanistan. Um, but we keep on hearing from the State Department that they're trying to engage and work with the Taliban. I don't understand. That policy and You know, I think that we're coming. We're coming very close to 9 11, and it's very hard to look at what the United States is doing right now how we've shaped over the last five weeks in Afghanistan. And and not have a terrible sadness about yourself When you think about what happened 20 years ago on Saturday and what's going on in Afghanistan today? Well, uh, again, um Have thoughts about the anniversary at the end of our Time with Chris. But there are other concerns. A lot of folks will point to well Al Qaeda who is claiming that they have re established a presence under the Taliban. But it's also our other adversaries, including China. And a reporter had asked the president. It will, uh, concerning China and funding, the Taliban and the president said Tuesday, quoting it will be interesting to see what happens. And there are those that are concerned Chris of China's role because reports have surfaced that China was making moves to take over Bagram Air Force Base. From the Taliban. China's denying this But ah The incursion and the capitalization of now, uh, a country in All kinds of Distraught transition. What are your thoughts about those concerns? Well, you know, Afghanistan is in transition. Obviously, we left Taliban are back in charge, and now they're going to figure out where their equities and interests lie. You know, I I Tend to be skeptical about the idea of the Chinese trying to play an active role working with the Taliban taking over Bagram Air Grace. I don't know who they intend on striking if they did that there isn't anything really worth them a dancing their interest to do that. You know, the kind of the the kind of Muslim theology that the Taliban preach is exactly is worse 10 times worse than what, Uh, China has a million people in concentration camps because of their Muslim faith. It just strikes me that the Chinese Taliban connection is probably more about Americans American loss and it is about cooperation between the two of them, But I do believe it's a fluid transition, and there's going to be is a vacuum and I think you're going to see multiple players buying to get getting involved in Afghanistan, the player that has not been really brought up to the table in the news cycle. The Pakistanis and they're the ones who I personally think, because their their military intelligence services so close to the Taliban, they're the ones so why would be looking to over the course and where the Chinese connection would play through? Over the course of the next several months. Talking with C Square, enjoying the conversation at 7 24. In the morning final point on the Afghan situation, nearly 40 Republicans sent a letter to the president. Expressing grave concern over what they call the rushed and incomplete vetting of thousands of Afghan evacuees entering the country. Is there is this top of mind at all in the debate discussion, especially from the White House and Secretary Blinken? I think that the that the vetting is actually it is something that they're looking at very carefully because it is a sore spot. It's a political sore spot for or the Biden people. If, by any stretch the evacuees that came in from Afghanistan, the Afghan refugees that are in the United States that one of them ultimately committed an act of terror in the United States because they were otherwise asleep yourself. I think that there is vetting going on. I think that the Republicans are right to ask the question. I don't think that the fight administration has an affirmative obligation to tell Republicans in the public what they're doing. I mean, it's a fixed number of people that have brought in. It's not as if we have millions of Afghans roaming around. United States at the fifth number. It's a manageable number. And I think that we should be able to provide the American people without assurance. 7 25 in the morning with C Square and transition, increase ourselves to our economy. Economic statistics, G D p et cetera, and also unemployment numbers have been recently released as well. You know, we're looking at numbers, and it's clear. I think the macro the top line numbers show that there's a slowdown this summer. That Delta actually has had not nearly as bad as the original outbreak of Covid. But Delta has an impact on the economy. You know, the number of jobs created was really missed the mark significantly. 255,000 verses about 6 50 50,000 expected unemployment rate is still relatively low 5%, which is a good number number of people outstanding are jobs that are unfilled. It's just sky high, and so there's a complete disconnect between unemployment and job availability. We're looking at, you know, solid, but not maybe not as spectacular GDP numbers and the number to keep your eye on as we get into the fall is inflation, which is, you know, Essentially, inflation is the silent killer for wages. It eats away at paychecks. And so right now it's been rising at 5% per month. And so we need to keep an eye on that, for for average citizens well 5% per month. Goodness. Goodness when we are having conversations about inflation. There's an inextricable link to the amount of spending debt that the nation is engaged in. And This has to do now with that $3.5 trillion social spending bill. And Senator Manchin. We invoke his name quite often. And other moderates. They're pushing for a lower figure than that amount. And mentioned said last week I, for one won't support a $3.5 trillion bill, or anywhere near that level of additional spending. But it's on the table even if it's reduced its additional monies. And part of repayment of that. Is to raise the top individual tax rate to 39.6%. Yes, it's currently at 37, however, on businesses the corporate tax rate I understand Is at 21%, and that would be an increase to 28%. Those increases are passed down to the consumer, which of course, mirrors inflationary rates. C square got to help me understand all of this is this thing gonna is this thing going to get through? Well, one thing I want to mention that the onset and that is how this is happening. You know, when I think about what I'm going to spend, I go out and identify what it is that I want figure out how much it costs get do do do the math. And I go and buy. It noticed. The Democrats are setting a number 3.5 trillion, and right now today, literally right now, as we're on the air They are actually trying to write in those numbers, so they set a big spending number, and no one seems to agree on what is supposed to be in the bill. There's talk about new expansion of Medicare for dental and eye and hearing. There is a universal pre K There is childcare tax credits so people can work. They want to do an immigration bill to legalize all the dreamer kids. It is..

"Get a new york red and bypass this rich new york bred program well and a in fact Now that you say that it might is that that isn't you know. There's that diva banker but that that is horse. That is the horse. I'm pretty sure diva banker in the bears. Yeah he is. This is the mayor we talked. I talked about this yesterday. With the with andy or indoor. Nick camera that was claimed for a nickel got her head head to tour in an allowance keeneland so then he dropped her in for eight thousand she. She wins that for fun and then she comes right back into new york clears the state bread allowance first level. Yes so she's obviously in good form right now. I i didn't know what to do. I think i ended up putting her for anyway. Let's go back to the fifth and Civilly twirl for me and blitz to win. Yes the problem. I then you mentioned cayden. There's also my brother. Neil lucky brodie my brother neal's out really. I just went through. That crossed it out. So maybe i'm wrong. This is now fifth number five knowing at the wrong one yesterday says good good. Glad you corrected that then you you talked about the first earn certainly certainly jeremiah can win with first her but debut at over a mile not from a big base but he's over five in the last eighteen months and you look to my brother. Neil for john toscano rain credibly at monmouth against open now i. It's hard to know without digging through that field. What he faced but now comes back a lot of times. That's a alive angle. Horse that faced better In open company and now back with their friends same can be said about lucky brodie for noda that Is coming off of of you know. Granted he was nowhere to be found but actually did not run. Badly in terms of in terms of figures ran a figure that that is not far off here. So i i am a little scared by the to ten to one shots more so than than the first r But i'm gonna try to tip toe through. I mean andy yesterday said just because of how difficult the sequences later that you may just have to be narrow in the in the fifth and in the tent and my brother. Neil i also had louis sayas and it just seems like hearing mclaughlin these handicapping very well when he's picking spots. Louis say as every race. Now i try to look see where say is liens. I did not use my brother. Neil but i agree scary all right. That takes us into this sixth race. That is a maiden thirty For fillies and mares three quarters and here too. You got a couple of obvious players. We talked to rudy yesterday and try to get a hint or two about Penelope pitstop but what What are your thoughts. Took a little shot against. I think my top two i flip flopped in just about equal. Confidence put starship dreams on top. I went four three five. And two starship dreams. You know it looks like it debuted at the kind of build on it was up at finger lakes so thorson might get overlooked a little bit becomes back. Lasix blinkers on drops. In for tag. There was a sibling. Cults such great heights that one it's career debut couple years ago at laurel and a maiden claim. We're going for long. So i thought there was a little early and again i thought the debut up at finger lakes on the sloppy rack was one to build on some equipment changes that may move the horse forward a little bit so starship dreams over miss penelope pitstop looks kinda logical having shown the early speed and faded in the debut that was also maiden special weight so is also making that potent move into a maiden claimer and then in the third slot i used bonkers. Who tried to dirt last time dropped down. The claiming ladder ran a well beaten fourth. But i thought it was interesting back in for a tag today lower tag even and cutting back to the six furlongs for mike maker with louis siazon boards of bonkers is interesting for three five into and i think You know we're we're pretty much. The same lemme just turned back to mind payers four three two and five for may starship dreams and penelope pitstop shining haulers and bonkers who if if grudgingly and and defensively i suppose Last race i on the move to saratoga certainly doesn't inspire confidence with their back. Numbers that i think fit perfectly with this field so and again. It's mike maker louis. Say as i think you're right. Defensively has to be included or considered third leg. Is this The allowance group. That i made the play of the day Community adjusted for me the nine but there is just one horse after another that that that can win our impact. This interested i. This is one of those races where i set competitive very competitive written at the top of the page. I didn't use yours. I'm not arguing one bit against it. I went one. Ten eleven and two thought. Miss delicious person starts of the korean particularly to starts in three starts back showing the early speed attracted my attention day. Trainee leaves from the rail. Did not show a whole lot last time on the move to saratoga so again that's a concern but at this source can get back to and from the rail. I think that's possible. Get back to that front. Running style might be a little bit interesting under velazquez. Maybe gonna take them all the way around second slot. I took a look at jordan's. Leo tries to cheer for the first time for todd. Pletcher put.

"Been living the life she wanted. Were stashed the years the greedy therapists that i am. I wanted her to acknowledge to douglas that. She had a huge part of the responsibility by not asking him to redesign the relationship so that it worked for both of them of course there is no guarantee that couples talking about what they did or did not do will work out. That's why there might need to be ten conversations. Not one magical one. Finding the courage to have ten. Conversation is not something. many people can do. One partner fails to say enough about how they are feeling and the other partner fails to find out what's going on. It takes two people to have ten conversations. Collecting resentment silently is so much easier on the website. I describe four ways to look at resentment. In general it can be said. Resentments are not clean straight or true emotions because there is always a twist the next time you are feeling resentful. Ask yourself which one of these four fifths number one you are preparing yourself to feel something again and again and again and again unwilling for the feeling to pass. Hamlet is a play of resentments. Hamlet becomes a ghost of himself because he is buried in resentments. He holds himself separate from everyone and against everything number. Two resentments are about obligations. Put on you from the outside. Ask yourself who is on your back who you need to shake off. Maybe you need to find your own backbone so you can shake them off. Duty is to do what is do based on your own insight and your own choices. Duty is not imposed from the outside people fail to make a distinction of what has meaning from within versus pressure from others and their judgments number three deal to is often really about pressure from other people there are truly resentments. Ninety percent of the time hidden underneath guilt. It's nicer to feel guilty. Because you're only hurting yourself on. Fortunately too many people drown themselves under tons of guilt. And then they end up suffocating and not saying what they need to say.

"Subcommittee tuesday. Kobe has had a devastating impact. On former purdue university tracker estimates that almost five hundred thousand agricultural workers have contract et far the study. that woman. delauro Cited not leave. Your workers have the highest excess mortality in the compared to other workers that increases even higher twenty percent higher for luchino agricultural according to cdc guidelines farm workers part of phase one b the second group to receive the vaccine after frontline healthcare workers. California governor gavin newsom has still said The state will provide thirty four thousand vaccine to farm workers and thousands of now being vaccinated pop-up clinics in the fields hosted by growers run by the county health department. So far data shows just sixteen percent vaccine. California have been given to latin next residents even though they account for nearly forty percent of the state's population And black and latinx next californians are suffering the highest rates of cova deaths in the state. Meanwhile here in new york the news outlet documented new york reports more than fifty thousand farm workers were removed from phase one bt or at the last minute just before new york opened up its vaccine rollouts to other workers including those in the food industry like grocery restaurant and food delivery workers. This comes as colorado idaho michigan. Say they plan to start. Vaccinating farm workers this month but some states have restrictions that could deter workers like florida which grows much of the nation citrus fruit where people must prove residency to get a vaccine the new york times reports. Some pharmacies in georgia have turned away. Immigrants unable to show a social security number and officials in nebraska say immigrant workers who lack legal status at meat. packing plants will be vaccinated last for more. We go to modesto california where we're joined by stella cisneros agricultural worker program legal director california rural legal assistance also with us an ethic new york. Mary jo dudley director of the cornell farmworker program faculty member in the department of global development at cornell. University would welcome the both to democracy now stella cisneros. Let's begin with you. Lay out the issue in california who is getting vaccinated. Who's not right now. Farm workers are eligible to be vaccinated. workers became eligible to be vaccinated right after a healthcare workers and those aged sixty five or over. There's other workers that are included in this group as well teachers other food industry workers childcare workers as well as emergency services personnel Those are the the workers that are currently eligible to be vaccinated in the state There's been problems however with the way that vaccines are distributed wide they are run by the different counties. is especially the public health departments. And there's been a lot of inequities that we've seen throughout throughout counties because of the decision by the governor to Put a people age sixty five or over before individual employment sectors that was originally the antennas the cdc recommended But that was a last minute. Change in the state as well. Could you talk about just the issue of being able to schedule. A vaccine appointments that so much of this is being done online and some sometimes in extremely complex forms you have to fill out online. The impact at this has on farm workers that are living basically in rural areas. Maybe don't even have internet accessibility. Talk about the the those who are trying to help. Farm workers get on the list of oh eligible vaccine recipients to get appointments definitely that has been a challenge and a lot of counties. Some counties are only allowing appointments to be made online some local pharmacies that are now supplying the kobe vaccine are also only making appointments online. That's a huge barrier to individuals who have either little technology literacy or Who who lack access to broadband services or other reliable internet or cell phone services. There's also been issues with call centers or excuse me where can make appointments by phone not having either spanish speaking or In the case of farm workers in california individuals who speak a mexican indigenous languages So there's just the barrier of actually making an appointment once agricultural workers become aware that they are eligible. There's that challenge that we've definitely seen expressed throughout the different counties in the state you talked about the situation specifically in riverside county in california a county. That's nearly fifty percent hispanic and it's become the first according to the new york times the first in the nation to prioritize farmworkers vaccination definitely. I'm so in that area What appears to be happening is there appears to be a pretty strong connection between the local public health department and employers in terms of providing either papa vaccination efforts Other similar efforts like that. I'm actually bring vaccines Into the fields That's the first county that i've that i am aware of that is doing a program like that. In most other counties it falls on the local public health departments In some other counties there's also collaborations between a local clinics and other service providers that have a deep deep connections to the farmworker community but in riverside does appear to be that that's certainly being Exemplified as as a really good example of well we need to do statewide And that's certainly something that you know. We would love to see replicated in other counties that are still struggling to vaccinate. A farmworkers riverside does have a A significant farm worker population but actually farm workers. There's more farm workers in other counties throughout the state Specifically in the central valley. That's actually where governor newsom A week ago made an announcement on that more that he was actually going to allow an promote eleven pop vaccination sites in the central valley specifically. I'm to address that concern which is that They're a large there. There's a lot more farm workers that live there and they have really struggled with not just vaccine access but also the distribution of the vaccine did seem like for some time the the vaccine distribution was being done by the number of healthcare providers in each county and so in one county in the central valley for example they had the second lowest vaccine a distribution numbers even though they had the fifth number of kobe related. Deaths the change in the this provision of pop-up vaccination sights will hopefully address that concern but also The governor has said that more vaccines are gonna come to to that area because it's essentially a two fold problem. It's not just. Do you have an effect scenes. But also do you have the infrastructure to actually be able to provide those vaccines to the.
