The Chiefs Win the Super Bowl and the Niners Blow It, With Cousin Sal

"Did the chiefs witness or did the niners lose this. And if the answer is both what is your percentage split. Okay well it has to be both. It has to be both because it's no coincidence. That now mahomes five and in games that he's been down double digits so you got that but it's also no coincidence that Kyle Shanahan in his last fourth quarter Super Bowl drives that he's called. Yeah as gone three and fumble six and pont. I'm stealing this off the Internet him. Sorry for whoever did this foreign pont five point three and pont seven turnover downs to an interception. ooh though I wanNA say San Francisco some as a sixty forty San Francisco right there is that fair. Well you left out the part that in his last two fourth quarter overtimes. Where's the offensive coordinator for the Falcons Against Patriots? The other time outscored forty six to nothing. Yeah I look at it this way you know. I had the big bet for plus three seventy five before the playoffs on San Francisco. It's twenty ten. They get a pick. There's twelve minutes left. They have a phenomenal running game that ends up finishing the game running for seven yards a carry. Yep like twenty twenty one carries the one hundred forty plus yards. I felt like the game was over. And I know Mahomes is on the other side line and they've come back twice but they have literally literally the perfect team in the league to run out a game like that up ten with more with momentum with everything you want and the play action was working And they had really figured out a way to control the pace and when you look at those last three drives it felt like that she switches sending the house and and like screen passes. Were there just all kinds of things that were false starts in the manner side not running when they should have one Bad plays as and I. I don't I never liked to use the word choke with sports because these guys are much better than we are but they've really blew it. That is one of in one of the all time and we blew it super bowl losses. In my opinion I thought they right. They kept their foot off the gas and first of all it happened at the beginning. The end of the first half an in what happened with that time management there will chant ended. DidN'T WANNA use a timeout. Looked like he was just happy content to go in the locker room ten ten yet but then gets a first down like to the forty about right and then as timeouts and then the drives fizzles but who knows if you start that drive. What one one twenty seven instead of like thirty seven? It's a different story. So yes we hold that thought right but so it's a key moment for a couple reasons. One they don't call time out before the chiefs chiefs punt so another forty seconds runoff by the time they get it. There's a little under a minute. Left there on their twenty. I was watching it thinking. They're so afraid of the chiefs chiefs. They they don't even want to leave a scenario where mahomes might get the ball back with thirty seconds left to reverse but at the same time if you look at the way they played pretty much this entire Gabe it was really kinda playing not to lose you. Know they had feel goes over and over again and they had a lot of like third and five and third and four zero where they you know they technically. If you're really going for the jugglers down territory at least a couple times. They're always happy to settle settled for three. The fourth in two was pretty egregious in the second half just because I don't know that I never felt like they try to grab the game by its throat. And and you need points to beat the chiefs team but when you think about the first forty eight minutes of that game it could have gone better for them because they didn't try to grabbed game by the throat but they're still sitting there with the lead up ten with the ball with the running game. That's gashing the chiefs and I think it's a colossal. We blew it lost. Like even if you go back to the Seattle pats game where Where the Malcolm Butler pick Seattle was still making plays to win that game? You know the pats came down. I'm from ten same way but Seattle is still like throwing haymakers back. They got that huge pass on the on the crazy long ball down the field that set up the Lynch played. You know I I just felt like the niners really rolled over the last ten minutes. And that's before we get to the defensive side of thing. It was really rough. I kind of in disbelief. That they'd when Super Bowl. I know you're bummed but I'm thinking about this from the other way. I think like I think he'd wake up tomorrow. Morning more bummed if Jimmy G. drove his team down the field this guy you got a second round pick forward we added for and won that game. You would've won money but all the Jimmy Jeez better than Brady. What's Brady doing? Brady inserts himself. In commercials is yeah. The Patriots are pathetic. I think we would have heard that would have been the narrative if the forty niners at one that starts a you know either way. I think we're going to start talk about starting earning a dynasty and I feel like we'll get we'll talk about odds next year's odds men and I'm sure but Patrick Mahomes is starting that right when you have a quarterback that just comes comes back. It doesn't really matter what's going on. Seems to not get flustered at all. Yeah that's a scary scary team. But I wanNA give the chiefs a little credit their running game the the biggest Sucker bat was like the forty niners minus thirty three and a half yards. I think it was thirty. Six thirty three right in there over the Chiefs it ended up one forty one to one twenty nine San Francisco and that's misleading. Because Patrick Mahomes in one of the worst Super Bowl bad had beats I can remember had forty four yards before he kneeled down has over on the twenty nine and a half for loss. Fifteen yard three kneel. Downs ended up with twenty twenty nine. So they really did have more rushing yards and San Francisco and you never ever would've thought that and that that's why they won the game that and the third and fifteen play I thought in the fourth quarter. It was why they want. I WANNA go back later to all the things the niners did wrong. And you're right. We should praise the chiefs. They had an awesome come for behind victory. They think were what the fifth team to win a super bowl. Where at some point in the playoffs they were down ten? I remember seeing that that tweet somewhere hold on. Let me find that ten three times. Scott Scott Caz Mar he said Only four out of fifty three super bowl. Oh winners trailed by ten in the playoffs until tonight. Nineteen seventy six raiders. Down Eleven to New England. The Sugar Sugar Bear Ham at the game. The first horrible horrible football US ever had two thousand one patriots snow game. Some people got Tuck rule game called Snow Game. Two Thousand Fourteen Patriots Seattle Two thousand hasn't Sixteen Patriots Atlanta Down Nineteen the Patriots. Were somehow involved all four times. This happened until Nice until today. So now we're talking five out of fifty three where they've trailed by ten plus and the chiefs became the fifth team to do it. So there you go so I They deserve it. They're the best. I think they're the best right. Ravens got picked off bad job by them chiefs to the best

2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame Class

"Pro football hall of fame I introduce the class of twenty twenty their centennial class and I am pretty diverse group here going in so what Mike let's run through some of these yeah and and some of these are so these guys are before my time so before your time as well some guys we saw a play so let let let's have a couple of these first Paul tag Lee boots and he was the the commissioner who took over for Pete Rosell he was the bridge between Roselle and die and Roger Goodell who we have today certainly the took the baton did a lot of good things for the game for sure yeah I get that now I'm not surprised I guess that he got in considering E. took it to a different level with TV contracts made a lot of money for the game took it into a different era yeah he's one of those it's like why do not in already yeah comic Marvin Miller yeah baseball I was a little bit surprised by that one or is it some other ones Donnie shall and and cliff tires are both a little bit before my time I I read you know I know the teams of Donnie shell played on a wood heater he was for the Steelers teams that were just absolutely spectacular are you know click Harris was a cowboy enough said so those two guys get in our let's run through a couple other ones he Jim covert I remember him with the bears as an offense of linemen I don't remember Bobby Dylan who was a D. back for the Packers Austin Dillon Tate today they made the right call Jack I was a beast yeah okay and we we was on the the body Packers of assuming yeah I'll wait like even before that it was like ten years before the merger all really okay yeah see played like late fifties and into the sixties mid fifties yeah okay all right so don't reach sixties they'll go back a little bit at New York Jets tackle Winston hill not that familiar with him but lions defensive tackle out Alex Karras who was a great player and also went on to be an actor he was in blazing saddles which Mike if you haven't seen it is an all time classic a movie that would never get made today because it's incredibly politically incorrect and he was the father in Webster which one of your favorite TV shows yeah Webster Webster and Bobby don't fill but Alex Karras is also said suspended for an entire season for gambling on football did you know that yeah early sixties yeah I miss the season are Scott Chicago cardinals this it tells you how far back that goes tackle Duke Slater goes into the hall of fame Cleveland Browns wide receiver Max speedy bears defensive and and sprinkle near giants GM George young who I remember he was a he was a guy who was there during the Parcells run when Bella check was it a says that when they had an unbelievable group of assistance there and he drafted very well guys like Phil Simms some guys really under the radar at large Taylor helped really kind of build that team cell George young goes and we know bill Cowher a Jimmy Johnson they they got their surprises on TV this past weekend what do you think of Calar I don't I think ours I don't think he's all famous hourly there I think is like the on this list of qualified to talk about this from worry lines up with my viewing yeah I you know I know he won one he got to another any was there a long time it's a great story because he's he's a Pittsburgh guy grew up there you know all that good stuff but what what's she in for longevity you know I mean I don't know I'm a a are they considering like contributions as a broadcaster to that kid I mean he's not that good only has been doing it that long what is your is on an hour a week yeah exactly yes I know it not look exactly are the interesting thing is that they they're some the hall of fame centennial class was selected by a special Blue Ribbon panel which included hall of fame board selectors league historians hall of Famers and bill Belichick yeah so there were thirty eight finalists were chosen from a list of three hundred nominees over the past five months and the hall of fame class of twenty twenty comprised of modern era players will be selected in Miami beach on February first the day before the Superbowl so you're wondering like the word the wise all these you know older guys well the the guys you probably saw play we you know we'll be getting in that cell that was that's the way that that that check out but shall I do go back to die shell for a minute now and I'll get to the reason why you wanted to do this for for a couple reasons but he's the fifth member of that steel curtain team Joe Greene mean Joe green Jack Lambert Jack ham Mel blunt and now dot a shell goes in from that Pittsburgh team but I am we should probably place for people again which we will little back but one of the coolest things I I heard was the the audio conversation between Harold Carmichael and and David Baker who's the the president of the pro football hall of fame but Carmichael goes and he was at all decade nineteen seventy selection when he retired he held the league record with a reception and a hundred twenty seven consecutive games he had a touchdown reception on almost fourteen percent of his career touches that's awesome any finishes his career with really good numbers in any near where you know again it wasn't like it is today where they pass as much as they did but in a plane thirteen years and really that's a little bit misleading you really play twelve years that thirteen year with the cowboys only played two games but he had almost nine thousand yards seventy nine touchdowns averaged more than fifteen yards per catch he was a stud and from nineteen seventy three to nineteen eighty two no receiver had more receptions yards touchdowns are games played that's pretty awesome do you wonder why it took that long but it was great to see him get and I'll tell you the other guy I mention this before we took time out they get send that never played a down in the NFL yet maybe had more of an impact than any name that we just right off that's the sable what NFL films did for the National Football League what which Steve sable date with his dad add both local guys and of course if you you know NFL films right over there mount laurel what they did to promote the game of football in the sixties when it was no where near the number one sport the country I mean you had baseball you a boxing your college football all ahead of professional football what they did to highlight the game to shine a different spot like to be creative in an artistic with the way that you look at the game utilizing classical music slow motion yeah replays you different camera angles you name it what they did to change the way that people look at the game was nothing short of remarkable and a and it's a shame that it's happened posthumously Steve got to win the Elbe doctors father into the hall of fame at the times the was battling brain cancer but for him to get in I thought was flat out awesome yes not he yeah got it back everything's under the contributions that side you have still to this day yeah I mean he tell me somebody who is more deserving I'm telling you AP is deserving is anybody so the one that I and I know Jodie touched on this when I was coming and I was listening to him and he's dead on about this it's a real shame and I I don't know if it's gonna happen former night I I I really hope it does but it's a real shame that I Joe Klecko didn't get it again this year if if you're not familiar with me you know when you hear Dan Klecko on our air doing eagles post games and and like you work with during the football season a damn good friend of mine but Joe was a great player he's a local guy grew up in Chester went to temple but was a phenomenal player for the jets eat play from seventy to seventy seven to eighty eight and the first Jeez for five years of his career the sac wasn't even cactus that so and he was a guy who literally you could play everywhere he played the tackle he played nose tackle he played defensive end you could move asides yeah you can move in every single place on the football field and all the guy did was the lever and and it's unfortunate because nose tackles indeed tackles are gonna put up monster numbers think about you know a guy like Fletcher **** could have a big game but because he's at being occupied by two tacklers or maybe is not getting a sack he's just he's creating the pressure somebody else gets the sack that happens often times you know but it it but a lot of those years even look like I was playing end they can keep the sack is that in other words like for example I seventy eight he was a defense of an I. seven eighty he was a defense of an eighty one he was a defense of that then he moved more inside your starting in in eighty two eighty three and the rest of his career but I know Gary Myers of Jody had on earlier in his show was a guy who really pushed for kind of the way ray push for for a tiny the Donald you know in a domino kind of pushed we double push for Dawkins yet Dawkins yeah double push for doc hold on which bush for Dawkins Gary Myers push for collect but it's he didn't get a ton of votes in the US and and that's you know probably not a great sign but I hope at some point they come to their their senses and and Joe Klecko gets and but that was that was the one that kind of stood out to me I know you know drew Pearson went on his his harangue about not getting in but that was one that stood out so what what it since we're on this Mike let let's play the Carmichael again so this this is it the audio of the phone call David Baker calling Harold Carmichael and letting him know that after all these years because Carmichael's but after this for a long time after all these years he finally got it my great grandma and to hear that you're gonna have a bronze bust in canton Ohio hello all men you're going to be a member of the centennial class and we're we're gonna tell you and keep your legacy alive forever yeah or what you're talking okay thank you great that's pretty cool I mean I think that's a genuine reaction right there what you got from hell Carmichael and it's it's well deserved you know this isn't just some sympathy vote that this is a guy who deserve to be at and your was ahead of his time in terms of the size and was versatile what could catch a long ball was a great are you know fade end zone alley OOP I could go over the metal versatile could do almost anything and you know play the game at six foot eight we came out of southern a small school and went on to have some great years for short was very good the playoffs still had amazing career so happy

Where Does Cam Newton Go From Here?

"Jeremy the first line of your story is. He can't go out like this. It's kind of crazy to me that that is even being said about Cam Cam Newton in the first place. If you look at the situation with the Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton a guy that called Superman of former. MVP It is just hard to make sense ESPN NFL writer. Jeremy Fowler has spent the last few weeks reporting on Cam Newton's future going into the season of you to tell me that Cam Newton would potentially be on the way out of Carolina and there will be this big mess I would not by any stretch have believed you before we get into the confluence of factors that led us to this moment. Explain why it's so unusual to even be having a conversation like this about a quarterback like Newton will mean. It is crazy because he changed the game game. This is a guy that was bred to be a winner from his days at Auburn he won the national championship number. One overall pick set rookie records Kurds for total yards on winning. MVP in two thousand fifteen three different seasons of ten or more wins. Everything was lined up for this guy to be a top five top top ten quarterback for the next fifteen twenty years. Just terrible lineup. What an improvisational improvisational play by CAM? Newton he altered the way. We look at the style of the quarterback position. Because we've seen running quarterbacks before but this is a guy. I was flipping into the end zone quarterback. He's making the superman sign with his arms after scoring and and you know he was Such an imposing figure that he looked like a combination of a pass rusher linebacker and a running back coming at you full speed and the whole the mack truck. That was something ended. The League really hadn't seen before goodness isn't this is the NFL. You're not supposed to be able to do that. And then there was the off field appeal. This is a guy who would show up to. His press. Conference was a fashion show. He's got the bedazzled hats glasses being able to be Orally gifted. There's something that I think. A master to a degree. I mean this is a guy that we couldn't take our eyes off of whether whether he was on the field or do you think his style of football in some ways impacted his body in a way that led us to this point it has to be a factor. I mean we're talking about a guy who's taken eleven hundred plus hit since two thousand eleven and more than half of those have been in the last four years since around two thousand fifteen. That's more than Russell Wilson. More than any other guy. Things have piled up on them as a result he was all about power shear power that was part of what made him so great. He did bulldoze you in the open field. He could run for the thirty yards and so just. The pounding as a result has clearly affected where areas now so the first few years of camps career sort of builds towards this magical season in two thousand fifteen. He's the MVP and it all leads up to the Super Bowl and what should have been a high point for him ended up being a low one the pants lose and perhaps unfairly the the indelible memory for a lot of people is the fumble. He failed to recover. Do you think that game changed perceptions of him roll. It stripped him of his invincibility. One one personnel told me the Denver took his Superman Cape. They took it away and he was never the same after that. And that's probably unfair because it's one game on the the biggest stage but you know. Denver played a certain way where they kept hitting them. The seven six rushing four-ball comes out of the hands on the ground still on the ground picked up by the yard line. And since then cam sense of some really good moments but it's been a little hit or miss even on the field when he is in the lineup and so it was a turning point for a career that was at a wildly high trajectory at that point you're talking about not only an MVP season but he could get into the end zone. Whenever he wanted that year it was just? He played a pretty much flawless season. And then it all SORTA changed after that game so that super bowl will is kind of a turning point for Cam than what happened last season in two thousand eighteen well last season he was a potential. MVP candidate after the first eight or so weeks. The panthers are sitting at six and two Newton looks great. He's got nineteen total touchdowns you know he's rushing but he's also being patient the pocket making throws so this was a team That was on the rise and was sort of recapturing. Maybe the magic. They had a couple years earlier for that. Super Bowl run so it was nothing but promising at that point an annual in early Donovan. Where you go to Pittsburgh you go to Heinz field? You're thinking this'll be another turning point for your season and then TJ comes the blindside. He knocks Cam. Newton he runs right into that right right shoulder into the turf and he had already been on the injury report with a shoulder injury. They didn't think it was serious at that time but watts shot clearly reaggravated things to the point where by by the end of the year he was struggling to throw the ball. Forty forty five yards. I mean it was pretty ugly out there right. I mean he wasn't pulled but I remember number. They stopped using him for Hail Marys I N. It became apparent that something was deeply wrong. Throw by CAM. It didn't reach. The end zone landed fifteen yards short of the goal line. This is a guy that could throw sixty five yards on a rope. And so they're taking them out putting Taylor Heinecke of all people to throw a deep ball. I mean there couldn't have been a deeper foreshadow for maybe the problems that were rising with Cam Newton's future alright so he ends up shutting it down for the last two games of that twenty eighteen season and in the off season. He has some shoulder surgery but by the time this season starts it seems like he has recovered and things are looking optimistic again for Cham. How does the twenty nineteen season actually began for him throwing the ball? He looked pretty tentative. No touchdown passes in the first two weeks. He didn't really look as comfortable normally. Does you know that you can win games with them but certainly not an MVP level that. They're there used to so after the panthers second game against the Bucks. It's revealed that Cam has some kind of foot injury but nobody really knows what's going on right. There's a lot of mystery around the injury and all of a sudden campaigns out this fifteen minute youtube video go here we are just record. I want to be brutally honest. The video was him. Basically Chilin in a hat and glasses passes and he's in like this leather black chair and he opens up about his foot injury as I'm about to jog around realize okay. Uh I feel like in the game but it's like something missing. There was a bit bizarre. But it's it. It was good that he came on spoke about it. And try to provide some clarity and in that video basically said got hurt. preseason hurt the foot against the Patriots this is where I got him away because automatically. I got play we go. I can't let fans down. He basically told coaches. Hey I'm good I'm all good. You know I'm Superman. I can continue to play. And then once week two-headed reaggravated the injury. What happened offended with this footage metatarsal bones and they separate from the base of the? That's a list rank injury but if it's a really bad separation or some sort of break then usually need surgery. Cam has not had that yet which pretends everybody to believe. He's got a sprain but a pretty bad one just hasn't healed yet but he doesn't want to have surgery. I'm able to get the time off for me to. He'll get back to one hundred percent then. I have no doubt in my mind everything everything that we won't as a team can still be accomplished. He made clear in the video that they need to go away and get back to what I was. and that's significant anytime. A player says that that means they're out that doesn't mean they're going to rush back to play and so he basically new I think at that point I was GonNa shut it down

He failed to recover. Do you think that game changed perceptions of him will it stripped him of his invincibility one personnel exact told me the Denver took his Superman Cape. They took it away and he was never the the same after that. And that's probably unfair as it's one game on the biggest stage but you know Denver played them a certain way where they kept hitting them. The seven secs comes out of the hands on the ground and still on the ground picked up by. Jj Line and since then came sense of some really good moments elements. But it's been a little hit or miss even on the field when he is in the lineup and so it was a turning point for a career that was at a wildly high trajectory. At that point you know you're talking about not only MVP season but he could get into the end zone. Whenever he wanted that year? It was just. He played a pretty much flawless season. And then and it also changed after that game so that super bowl is kind of a turning point for Cam than what happened last season in two thousand eighteen last season he was a potential. MVP candidate after the first eight or so weeks. The panthers are sitting at six into Newton. Looks Great Nineteen total touchdowns. You know he's rushing but he's also being patient in the pocket making throws so. This was a team that was on the rise and was sort of Recapturing maybe the magic. They had a couple of years earlier for that Super Super Bowl run so it was nothing but promising at that point an annual in early November. You go to Pittsburgh go to Heinz field. You're thinking this'll be another turning point for your season and then Tj Awa- comes off the blindside. He knocks Cam Newton. He runs right into that right shoulder into the turf he had already been on the injury report with a shoulder injury. They didn't think of a series of that time but watts shot clearly reaggravated things to the point where by the end of the year. He was struggling to throw the ball. Forty forty five yards. It was pretty ugly out there right. I mean he wasn't pulled but I remember. They stopped using him for Hail Marys N. It became apparent that something was deeply wrong saw. I saw that throw by CAM it. It didn't reach the end zone. landed a good fifteen yards short of the goal line. This is a guy that could throw sixty five yards on a rope and so they're taking them out and put Taylor Heinecke of all people to throw a deep ball. I mean you know. There couldn't have been a deeper foreshadow for maybe the problems that were rising with Cam Newton's future all right so he ends up shutting it down for the last two games of that two thousand eighteen season and in the off season as in he has some shoulder surgery but by the time this season starts it seems like he has recovered and things are looking optimistic again for Cham. How does the twenty nine thousand nine season actually begin for him? Throwing the ball. He looked pretty. Tentative no touchdown passes in the first two weeks he didn't really look as comfortable as he normally. Does you that. You can win games with them but certainly not an MVP level that they're used to so after the panthers second game against the Bucks it's revealed that Cam has some kind of foot foot injury but nobody really knows what's going on right. There's a lot of mystery around the injury and then all of a sudden can't puts out this fifteen minute youtube video here. We go here we we are just record. I want to be brutally honest. The video Was Him basically chillan in a hat and glasses. And he's in like this leather black chair. He opens up about his foot injury. As I'm about to jog dog around. I realize I feel like I'm in the game but it's like something. Something's missing bizarre. But it's it was good that he came on spoke about it and try to provide some clarity and in that video he basically said got hurt in the preseason Kurt the foot against the Patriots this is where I got him away because automatically. I thought I got play we. I can't let my fans down. He basically told coaches. Hey I'm good I'm all good. You know I'm Superman I can. I can continue to play and then once we to hit he reaggravated injury injury. What happened is with his foot? Is You have metatarsal bones. And they separate from the base of the FA. That's a list rank injury but if it's a really bad separation or some sort of break than usually need surgery cam has not had that yet which pretends everybody to believe that. He's got a sprain but a pretty really bad one and it just hasn't healed yet but he doesn't want to have surgery if I'm able to get the time all for me to heal and get back to a one hundred percent is it. Then I have no doubt in my mind everything that we won't as a team can still be accomplished. He made clear in the video that I need to go away and get back to what I was. And that's -nificant anytime a player says that that means they're out that doesn't mean they're going to rush back to play and so he basically new I think at that point I was GonNa shut it down

Colts face different Titans' threat with Ryan Tannehill at QB

"Sunday. It is the titans and Ryan Tannehill. Dan Hill really happy for him. By the way at the Indianapolis Colts Starwood Tannahill and the November December Munster known as Derrick Henry. Well here's the thing with tannehill now barring the complete face plan the question is just how many guaranteed years does he get from the titans because because he's GonNa be the quarterback next year. They're really the running an efficient effective offense. I think he's up around fifteen yards of completion over his last two games. The problem is with Tennessee. Hennessy is. He isn't throwing the ball a whole lot so we had eighteen. Pass attempts against Jacksonville last week. Now of course two rushing touchdowns in two passing touchdowns so he he wants somebody a lot of money in DFS. But it's it's one of those things where decided Lamar Jackson. You really don't think that that's tenable. Because he's a good Ron. Everybody's not an explosive one but then he had the nineteen pass attempts against Kansas City. A couple of weeks ago. This is how they WANNA play. So I think Tannahill the hill is a streamer streamer the quarterback the problem is i. Don't trust any of his wide receivers because AJ Brown had the big game and Jacksonville but two weeks exco. He had the terrible game just one catch against Kansas City. So I'm not really trusting any of that. I think Corey Davis is flat out droppable right now because I have a tough time saying to myself. When am I going to play Corey Davis in any of my line at this point and so I think he's droppable? Ryan Tannehill has accounted for for over nineteen fantasy points and multiple touchdowns in each of his five starts his nine point two yards per attempt is leading the NFL. He's playing really well. And I think the colts are a gettable matchup even if it's not a pristine one but the guy you always trust here is Derrick Henry. You had a third touchdown last week wiped out because of a screen pass. The the colts are really struggling to score points right now and we heard this week. That t y Hilton so far isn't sure he's going to be ready to go on Sunday. This projects to be a lower scoring game in Indianapolis and that means all systems go for Derrick Henry locked in rb one locked in court. DFS play tight end for the titans writings. Nobody worthwhile nobody useful Delaney Walker. Could be back. Johnny Smith didn't even have a target last week. He had a carry their they got one in target for Michael Pruitt. Firkh sir. Didn't have a target Dennis Kelly the backup. Tackle got a touchdown. The tight ends and Tennessee are useless. It's really Tannehill and Henry Henry at this point of the season the only two guys that I can consider with any sort of confidence.

Why Should You Stop Raking Fall Leaves?

Why Should You Stop Raking Fall Leaves?

"Hey Raines Jeff Lauren Bugaboo. I'm here to a lot of folks. Some of the best fall. Memories include raking in jumping in huge piles of leaves before squeezing them bags and placing them by the curb to be hauled off to the landfill. Well some folks are old enough to remember when burning leaves was standard practice these days however neither is looked upon with approving is raking bagging in hauling leaves. Away might make your yard like showplace but it's no longer considered environmentally friendly. Why well like we said those lawn refuse bags go to the landfill? And according to the US Environmental Protection Agency in two thousand fifteen yard trimmings accounted for thirty four point seven million tons of municipal solid waste waste the majority of that twenty one point three million tonnes was recovered in composted or mulched in state programs but ten point eight million tonnes still went to the landfill. That's more than eight percent of total waste generated in two thousand fifteen however if you have a law that you want to maintain getting rid of the fallen leaves is essential because not only will wet leaves smothering kill the grass. They can also prevent new growth from taking hold come springtime. So what are you to do rather than raking bagging. The University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Service suggests mowing the leaves a Mulcher instead. A mulcher is a machine machine similar to a lawnmower in that it cuts grass as he pushed along except it has specialized blades that keep chopping the clippings into very fine pieces by mulching dry leaves which essentially shreds them into dime sized pieces. You've created free food for your yard. The tiny pieces of leaves. We'll filter down between the blades of grass and add vital nutrients like nitrogen back to the soil. The ideal time to the leaves is when you can see the blades of grass start. Poking through the blanket of leaves that may mean weekly mulching depending on the size of your yard and the number of trees. You don't want to completely cover your lawn with a thick layer of mulch though so it leaves get too heavy rake the extra the ones in a pile and then spread them around your trees shrubs in addition to adding back nutrients mulching. Your Garden has other benefits. It helps keep weeds at bay Holds Moisture in the soil and helps moderate soil temperatures. Your lawn

NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football Betting Picks: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers

"Welcome in to the the board podcast powered by Fox bet week eight Monday night football edition dolphins steelers y'all are pretty excited for which would be a barn burner of a football game I'm your host firm joined by my colleague coast the one the only pain insider lots of enthusiasm I'm trying pain I'm not a premature whistle blower like we saw in Nashville but I still haven't positive mindsets get this thing going believe it you can achieve it and it wasn't the results were looking for either the college or professional football rain six but we persevere we continue to plow ahead and no we have a long season left in front of us so as we do every Monday we'll start the good the bad and the ugly we of course Dr Chow waiting in the wings to break down what the JJ watt injury means for the Houston Texans and he'll update us and some of our favorite quarterbacks the pain. Let's go glass half full what did you see this weekend that had you excited and brimming with optimism where do we start so much Scott the forty niners because I always leave things are more impressive when prior to the game it's not supposed to look that way so we a significant professional money come in on Carolina so it makes the win even more impressive to me personally because I just feel like they exceeded expectation and I managed and I think we both did here right to avoid this game now we dead value is certainly on Carolina like numbers wise right when you look at the number got six six and a half earlier in the week like Mason Rudolph was catching that same number in his first start ever on the road so value is I get it but I think we talked Thursday which is like a horrific matchup right Carolina doesn't have left tackle Bosa continues to like full-blown just eat out there I think he's got the highest pressure rate he's on pace to set the highest pressure rate for any rookie in NFL history right now kyle kind of talked about this the one above it average pass defense he played he struggled against earlier in the season which was Jacksonville the forty niners would obviously be even tougher than that he was the most inaccurate quarterback in terms of completion percentage expectation of sixteen percent below expectations the worst so far this week and we saw that at there wasn't very good can't stop the run we talked about that Cohen Short once he went out for the season and there was a big check mark there offensively from what I'm what I'm seeing from the forty niners is is Kyle Shanahan is just ahead of his time with what he's doing even though it's very basic right it's I think he's in this concerts jokingly kind of the real inventor of the exotic smashmouth right the ball is just like spread around there's all these interchangeable parts wide receivers are getting handoffs but like at its core it's very simple offense and I think the scary part here todd is like you look or seven and no right now in the NFC but they're without their left tackle there without the right tackle there without their versatile full-back call us check and I think I could wrong about this and it's probably not worth the money was paid but I feel like Jimmy G. has another gear that we haven't seen yet either which makes this forty-nine seem really scary well and I think some of that's got to be by design if you're Kyle Shanahan why reveal all your cards when you don't have to right now and then there's no doubt that Jimmy G. High profile passing attack is somewhere there I imagine as they can can you to build chemistry with Emmanuel Sanders able to get into the end zone and his forty niners debut it makes his team even scarier and I know pain we don't talk a lot about futures here because guys don't have access turn prices and you Never WanNa do hyperbole but right now when you look at the NFC or the forty niners the team to beat the more complete package outside of experience levels than the New Orleans saints tough to you obviously love with the saints are doing especially defensively that front seven has really taken another step I do feel like whoever gets home field advantage because the saints home field advantage so massive you'd give the you'd leaned that way with ever team had home field advantage certainly the games get a little bit tougher here in the next few weeks off for the forty niners so we'll see what they're made of but man ah X. still kind of leaned saints especially if they were the team that got home field advantage going to be interesting NFC playoff picture definitely a number of teams on their best day more than capable of putting up crooked numbers and more importantly getting stops on the defensive side but aside from the forty niners pain or are there any other teams and our individual performances that really stood out to you Daniel Jones right if you're a giants fan you have to pretty encouraged in whether you could've met seventeen or six I mean that's it's kind of a relevant at this point you know and I liked I saw accuracy wise again delivered a completion percentage five and a half percent greater than expectations four touchdowns no picks and I think that that last part there with the no picks is really impressive when you look at how aggressive he was six most aggressive quarterback in week eight so far obviously two games tonight but of all the quarterbacks that have played so far six most aggressive and the other thing is when you look at how he's doing it right now in general young quarterback he's been pressured a shit ton right forty six percent of its drawbacks pressured on the season most in the NFL among qualifying quarterbacks and he's this young young he hasn't flinched yet so I I really like I think you have to be happy for your giants fan of what the future could be with Daniel Jones so fantastic performance although in a loss did did get back door there so I know a lot of giants backers were happy that was the sharp side again closed five and a half some places so Daniel Jones got the pros money and look good again that he did one ill advised throw cost him dearly early in the game came back up the fumble yeah it was the fumble that probably could have gone I mean you it's a turnover no matter how you slice it but interception fumble just not sure he's doing it to throw but for anybody to watch that game was interesting there was a bad penalty at the tail end of the first half where the giants allegedly rough the ultimate leads the three for the lions and changed the dynamic a little bit in that context wonder if the giants would have actually had a chance to win that game outright if things had played differently but for alliance do nothing but bad luck I guess they wrote a break or two in that extra appointments made things a little wonky to some of the decision making it the nail to me how to chase a two and it's one of those things where you just start chasing points and you open that Pandora's box and if you don't convert things continue to create that downward spiral but a good performance from Daniel Jones you mentioned his second career game over three hundred yards four touchdowns then a nice job against a depleted lions secondary with the good I want to add one other into it of course it was in a losing effort Mike Evans yet again puts up Gargantuan numbers eleven catches hundred ninety eight yards and two touchdowns but one of those things that I'm not quite sure why the bucks don't look for Evans and crunch time when he was the stat stuffer all game long and the titans apparently had no answer in their secondary starting to get doubled a little bit dried movement of the slot to get them open and got doubled again so you know he had forty four percent of the buccaneers area are gesture die but obviously not enough however no you want to praise him and you probably didn't turn on the game quick enough but he did have the bad drop on the opening drive in the end zone the bucks were forced to settle for three instead of seven I did I did see that drop bring it up I do want to ask you about that when you throw through a little bit of congestion I know Matt Melons in your hands catch the ball all right so I wanted to find out so you your opinion is now well documented around Mike Evans if you're going to be elite God damn elite all right so that that's where I'm going with it was just really annoying game not going to complain right side wrong result and you go into halftime with the two hundred fifteen yards seventy one yard edge you trail that's a problem and then I thought we were gold right you fight your way back you blow you get up six late in the third quarter and then you know you hope officials can do their job good for Devon white by the way rookie did a fantastic job there sniff out fake laid to feel them out it was like a WWF and I believe they're wwe now but I'm old so wwf like a clothesline he just sent the snapper into orbit there in the all clearly comes out its return for a touchdown of course they blow their whistle so you can't you can't review it and it was a turnover on downs anyways because it was fourth down so said of a seven air when bucks up three with under Ford ago we were still down four in the problem is that you know you're not gonna your situation where it's four down territory or not kicking field goal to cover the spread for the good guys chase kicked to feel go forty eight yarder right through the UPRIGHTS two minutes to go get outta dodge with a one point loss single text bruce and eh lepers no team bet the board it's all about covering the number not winning games outraged good guy might have done it now if the good come the bad and this one is tough for me to kind of put down pain because I think they were very good for three quarters but it's the kind of game that you have to win on the road you're at the tail end of it's been a mammoth road trip the Oakland raiders finishing the game against Houston Texans were nearly two yards per play better as far as net is concerned and you look they did give up some penalty yards and everything else they had the football a lot less but they had an excellent chance to win the game on the road they outscored in the fourth quarter and to Shawn Watts and make some let real place to get the Texans the outright victory Deshaun Watson in Hopkins it's like the Russell Wilson Lockwood combination those two geysers like carrying goddamn franchise right now because Bill Brian is just continues to be a mess anyways I hate being singular play guy but you're one and you have a chance to kind of I don't WanNa say ice the game with your offense but certainly go up eight or if you decided to be a savage go for the to to put it up nine and there is a plan like second and six from the Houston twenty four in Gruden calls a run play and you'll lose a yard and now you're backed up to third wall and then you Veasley incomplete there and and you settle for a field goal only go for I love Josh Jacobs but the Texans Defense is superior against the run than it is pass in the Texans secondary isn't link absolute shambles with injuries right and they were down another starter who got injured in the game and as an offense you got tyrone Williams back and Jones who you trade four finally like kind of got into the fold now that he understands the offense after you were healthy as you've been at receiver like virtually all season attack the weakness man put it in the air instead then do that in that one specific drive could've put him up potentially two scores if they'd went for two and you rely on your defense against Watson and you got burn so to me there is some some mismanagement there was some playcalling late in that game as you kind of alluded to but they did blow sure well you mentioned mismanagement pain and it's funny you use such a word choice where do we want to go to Chicago bears and how they handled their performance against the chargers so I didn't watch the game because I couldn't dedicate enough time to it I'm GonNa go back and actually watch today it's one of those games that was really intriguing to me because guys that uh yeah I work with love the charger so much and they with the chargers plus four and a half and plus four I didn't see it so when there's games that's where my guys like adamant that this is the side and I don't see it myself on my I gotTa really pay close attention to this and because I have add I can't do that with like watching games so two one on and watch today but as I'm like tracking the play by play and now that I'm like looking at the data we just download it charges were not decide and we had this debate all week long and you may see something different but the charges were not decide but I'll let you share what you saw from the data I mean I'm just looking at just like two hundred and thirty one total yards of offense in the year two thousand nineteen on the road and you're only getting what would have been like three point two closing number I don it doesn't look like just by all the data that that was the right side

"Iconic one and I know will be part of the NFL one hundred because they interviewed me for it I was celebrating a hundred season in the National Football League and iconic one not just for the box but journey in a light I'll never let you forget it was to quarterback Danny Kanell hell okay got you first first interception like in college in the pros now not put me on blast one but to your point yeah the you know that one the that was the game where we know we have to win because you talk monkey on your back I don't necessarily stop what. not for good yes but we knew we had to go to Philly and when we we had to and which could be a you know Tony Dungy of fire could be Philadelphia nearly knocked us out of playoffs you know prior we lost two million because our Superbowl journey was have brought presses but we're just playing cover too and he thought I was coming you looking for a heart to Antonio Freeman you know I skipped out well we're both supposed to go and then I get to catch it and then I think in those moments I look at it now I I see how they catch the ball. gross kind of outside of the frame while body I know one fact that I didn't catch it clean but I was already running because I knew that I'd made a play and you know ninety two yards later you know how much everybody now you know who did it and it was one in eight I I really enjoyed the living that moment and a lot of Philly fans don't like reliving the moment they tell me every time I see them how much are ruin their childhood and all this other stuff like man's plan of the house to my job but it it's special and my teammates wanted to be here this week and one that I see compound the card they always remind you thought about that place but to me it was just another place not a place that I had to make well of the many you'll see it on Sunday but that's all it's going to be in the the hall of fame real eventually of course that's run there but it is we know that run the ball was with moving world is it the right move for it for you for you run a I I mean it I I think it's a no brainer visit the right mode well look. it is no one would ever make a bad movie maybe someone that that that don't work out for them guy go somewhere else it into something better once they leave but for that organization I feel like they always make the right moves for them so in that regard yes it's the right move and okay if this if if he is that much of a distraction to the football team that they feel like they have to let go after being there for what we can have then it's the right move for them yes now is he an immeasurable talent absolutely he is but it is an immeasurable headaches even more so but I've had pretty comes is my Tom one of the year years and you know he he simply said. put out fires with these all day long and maybe we'll just have to figure that double check the mac crew there realize we don't need this type of distraction on our football team more about when it yet it ships yeah about we're not about the high. in the self promotion and and the other problems that come along with having a guy that impacted influence negative or positive on on a football team "And you know, when they see something blatant like to call down on the field. And you know, what the officials on the field though, that hey, you guys missed the call or hey, this really wasn't a penalty or maybe even combining that with some additional coaches challenges during the course of a game. It seems to me like the expanded replay in major league baseball works. Why not do it in in the NFL? But don't you hate expanded replay major league baseball, Mike. I'm a big baseball fan. The idea of saying, hey, let's get home run. Right. Okay. It's gone way too far and major league baseball. They are they they went way too far with replay. So I don't like that as an example. But I'll ask you this as a follow up to your question the booth official. Okay. So the for so the roughing the passer check the non pass interference check every call every plate. What about the Cal Roby Coleman got away with pass interference earlier in the game? What about that one? Are we looking at that? Yeah. I think you can you could probably limit it. Well, first of all I disagree. I think. It works in major league baseball, and I really like it. But that's a whole nother subject. I think what you can do is limited to penalties that are perhaps fifteen yards or more or potentially fifteen yards or more where they're going to have a real impact. I mean, the reality is that that call costs New Orleans the game, you can talk about their calling selection and all this and that but the bottom line is costing the game. Yeah. And you're right, Mike, and let me be Johnny pokes holes through again, I agree with you. But if we only make it fifteen yards. Let's say I pathetically. Everything's the same. And instead of Nicole Roby, Jack that guy up he holds them off the line. And it's a five yard penalty. You'd have the don't ever defensive penalties automatic first down except for off side. So now now we're doing holding now doing five hundred now we're doing illegal has in the past. We'll rough in the passers fifteen late. We're doing. Everything everything becomes so to make the fifteen yard distinction is to eliminate other penalties that are supposed to be automatic first out. What if they called helmet-to-helmet, and they got it wrong. That's a first down eight hundred Mike. Thanks, eight three zero five fifty to join us WJR buffalo headlines, real quick. "AM and ninety four one FM right now. Forty six degrees. Nice skies in Denver now on Colorado's morning news. Always nice skies in the day. When the Broncos win, it's a football winning Friday. The Broncos getting that victory to snap a four game slide linebacker von Miller lived up to the mid week promised to be a wrecking crew in last night's forty five ten win over the cardinals Rosen hit and the ball knocked free. Von miller. Hasn't he tries to scoop it up? He does Miller has it. And he's tackled inside the fifteen yard line of the cardinals second strip sack of the game for von Miller Miller. Tallied four tackles two sacks to force fumbles and a fumble recovery. Head coach Vance Joseph says Miller stepped up as a leader in what he said this week about dominating Arizona. It didn't bother me that he spoke that way because our team needed that push. You know, we're close to being a good football team. And I think by pushing his his teammates to to guarantee a win was what we need it. Now, the Broncos are not worldbeaters by any stretch of the imagination, but they are three and four feeling better about themselves divisional game at Kansas City a week from Sunday. We're going to speaking with seven six Ryan Edwards. More about the game coming up here. Eight ten on Colorado's morning news ski season returns to the front range this morning. And there are a pair of weekend openings on tap the first one today at a basin, and that's where we find KOA. Newsradio Connor shreve or people getting psyched now that we're what an hour away. Yeah. Still an hour away. But this lift line is really started to fill in April behind that group that has claimed I chair in order to do that. And they got here on Wednesday. You may think they're not you may be right because the difference between I share and second. Chair is getting here on Wednesday versus getting here at about nine o'clock last night. But it actually even goes further than that trailer. Tom says he the Ripon are.

"Almost four fifteen yards a game thirty four points a game. And. Obviously the halfbacks a great player. It starts with him as forces on scheme in past game is built off that the quarterbacks playing really well he's hot and they've got three really good receivers and Cooper cop in woods and cook. So it's gonna be a challenge. I challenge on defense office like that. And we we play Kansas City, very similar setup. But we're looking forward to it. It's going to be a nice challenge and no one stopped him. So he's out to see weekend. Broncos faced a challenge similar to this with the chiefs a couple of weeks ago. I don't think anyone and they'd be the first to tell you expect they'd give up three hundred yards of rushing to anyone. But certainly the New York Jets we knew about as crawls big playability. Vance Joseph talked about that last week and actually use some of that sound from VJ on the Broncos warm up in the redbird farms game management last week. But von Miller is not getting to the quarterback. And that's noticeable Bradley Roby. Certainly having his struggles. But Vance Joseph said on Friday that he will still be the starter at corner contract, you're so will he bounce back? He was the best Broncos player defending passes last year had seventeen pass deflections the most by a Bronco in the last decade. So will he return to that form, Chris Harris junior still the Lynch pin of that secondary? But secondary, certainly frustrated. So speaking of that frustration here is von Miller on his level of frustration with the lack of sack production to this point always frustration with. I'm not going out there and doing my job. Of course is the things that I could do. My job is the rest of passer. But any day, I gotta tackle the ball. I gotta stop tanning from going for three hundred yards rushing. And whatever they went for pass today. I play defense.

"One hundred fifteen yards and two touchdowns shape. Patterson through one hundred ninety six yards and number fourteen. Michigan overcame a seventeen point deficit to beat northwestern. Twenty two seventeen on Saturday Higdon gave the wolverines the lead with a five yard Ron with about four minutes and six seconds remaining. Left. Formation. They bring Mason now in motion. Patterson in the shotgun. The snap. What? Jim Brandstatter with the call their Michigan whose foreign one and two and one the big ten help northwestern to ninety seven yards of total offense in the final three quarters. And had six sacks for the game. Jim Harbaugh post game as a big win had overcome some phantom calls and. Just a lot of stuff. You know? I really thought so many guys you can tip your hat to right now starting with shake Patterson quarterback. I mean, tremendous job Joshu, Che chase winner vich, and there's a lot of heroes in this one. But that was a great comeback win. All right, Michigan hosts, Maryland next Saturday in east Lansing, Michigan state top central Michigan thirty one to twenty Brian Lewinsky ran for two touchdowns in the first half. He had sixteen of twenty five for one hundred and eighty five yards head coach Mark dantonio controlled the the line of scrimmage certainly from defensive standpoint and came up with some big turnovers. And then we're difficult to move the ball on. So I think everything was pretty lopsided in that regard. And then the fourth quarter came a little bit interesting for us, but that's football for you the Spartans entered with the nation's top ranked run defense and held CMU to five yards on the ground in the first two quarters. Michigan state lead thirty one two three before leading the Chippewas rally bid in the fourth. The Spartans go back to their big ten schedule with a home game against northwestern. Next Saturday the Detroit Lions in Dallas today against the Cowboys Detroit is looking for win number two on the season. Kickoff is at one o'clock. And the Tigers fall to the brewers in Milwaukee two.

"Fifteen yards and two that score. Georgia's got the ball. They'll start at their own twenty five yard line with two or three to go in the opening quarter. And we are tied here. At columbia. Your score is seven seven. Thank you very much Mike and Notre Dame after the early miscue as well has bounce back late first quarter. Let's check in with Kevin Casey. You go first quarter and Notre Dame now up seven to three on Wake Forest too far Armstrong thirty yard touchdown run. So far so good for the most part for e book seven of ten passing for sixty six yards. Wake Forest got a Knicks Skiba thirty yard field goal to put them on the board. He's also missed a thirty eight yard field goal. So Wake Forest has moved the ball into Notre Dame territory or a couple of times only three points to show for just over two minutes to go first quarter. It's Notre Dame seven four three to Dave Preston right now. Minnesota and Maryland Dave one eighteen to play in the first quarter. Maryland leads Minnesota fourteen nothing tie Johnson. Squirts up the left sideline for an eighty one yard touchdown. As the Turks reached the end zone for the second time of the afternoon. This was a lightning quick possession to plays covering ninety one yards. The other scoring drive and eight clay March covering seventy five the turps started with one hundred fifty one yards rushing. They were held to under two hundred yards last week in a loss to temple to see four for five passing thirty. Yards in the afternoon. The Terrapins bringing a ton of pressure early two sacks and hurry for the Terrapins. Golden gophers convert a fourth Intuit midfield. They have football in Maryland territory, but Maryland leads fourteen nothing just over a minute to play in the first quarter. Thank you. Dave BC and Purdue has been a good one so far second quarter just underway. Let's go to Tom McCabe and Ross eight stadium. It is tied at seven and Purdue has just gotten the ball. They will start their latest drive at their at their own thirty five yard line. Boston College scored its first touchdown of the game with four thirty two to go in the first quarter. Anthony Brown the quarterback on third down passes fifteen yards to tight end, Tommy Sweeney. And again that ties the game at seven a sixty yard kick return by Michael Walker. Put Boston College an excellent field position there. So far this afternoon. Walker has one hundred twenty five yards on his kick. And punt returns Purdue with one touchdown. Also in this game that came midway into the first quarter DJ knocks the running back taking it in one yard quarterback. David blouse so far this afternoon is six of seven for sixty two yards. Anthony Brown the quarterback for Boston College four or five for thirty three yards. So early in the second quarter, we're as seven Boston College and pretty all right? Thank you very much, Tom so good one. They're not so good for Nebraska today. The big house where Michigan is running away with an early. Let's check in with any cap. This is one of those instances rich ride genuinely feel sorry for the fans that either Amtrak or drove or flew up from Lincoln for this game. Their team has shown absolutely nothing here in the opening fourteen minutes of this contest that's one seat to nothing. Michigan then Mason with a couple of touchdowns for the wolverine. His last one from four yards out. He literally went into the end zone. Untouched. That was preceded by a twenty six yard counter run by through Wilson. Nebraska, defensible extra are just all out of sorts in the offense of line can do. Absolutely nothing to protect Adrian Martinez. The freshman quarterback so promising and that opener against Colorado injured his knee. There came back today for the first time after missing that game against St. last week and his offensive lines giving him no help. And he's been unable to use his feet to get away from the edge rusher rushers from Michigan. And if he can't get downfield himself Nebraska is going to have a tough one of it. And they are right now with twenty to nothing Michigan hundred and seventy four yards. Total offense for the wolverines to just thirty four. Nebraska minute. One to go in the first quarter. Michigan has the ball in its own end. An extra point failed blocked blocked. Extra point is the only reason why Michigan right now doesn't have a twenty one nothing lead fast. Start for Michigan today, which is bounce back nicely after the season opening loss at Notre Dame. And just getting great production in all phases of the game. Ronald more just a second ago. They seventy yard touchdown. Reception to give Purdue the thirteen to seven lead with a point after pending more on about a ten yard pass broke a tackle. And then just bounced outside and it was off to the race that nobody was even close. He will have a spectacular career with the Boilermakers just a freshman playing in his fourth game, so far, but he has been something special and gives the Boilermakers fans reason to hope in the future so Purdue on top by a score of thirteen to seven. So so far not a bad bounce back for the big ten after what happened last week is we're still trying to figure it all out. And how that all happened is we bring in Tom Cornell CBS sports dot com, and you can follow him on Twitter at Tom Cornell. You how that happened last week a Tom, and how can the big ten recover today? It was. Yeah. That was not a pleasant tweak to be a big ten team or big ten fair. That was just, you know, losing a bunch of games that you're not supposed to lose. And really it's not just win the big ten in the last few years. It started to restore threat detection is one of the better confidence in the country. There were people even wondering last year if the big ten was better than the SEC to have that kind of weekend kinda kills that momentum from a perception angle. But I I don't think it's a killer. Because if you look at things Wisconsin lost and that was bad. But if you look at Wisconsin scheduled for the rest of the season, including thirty Iowa still got games against Michigan. They still got games against Penn State, if they can you know, improving win and win the west and they're going to play the big ten title game against Ohio State or somebody. So they still have a chance to boost that resume get to the playoffs. Should they somehow rebound in win the big ten and then on the other side there were still rough losses, but Ohio State BTC TCU? That was a big win. Michigan is looked. Much better in the weeks since the since the loss to Notre Dame and the opening week. Penn State is still undefeated, it'd be it'd be Illinois on Friday night. And Michigan state still only has one loss has a chance to prove. So while it was bad looks at a conference overall. The good news is it's top teams the ones that we still expect to be the playoff contenders aren't dead. Most of the Wisconsin was the only one of those teams to suffer a loss. And like I said, they still got plenty of chances to improve the reputation is it did it look good depth perspective. But overall, I think the big ten still their playoff hopes are dead by any means, but Wisconsin left with no margin for error, and they take on Iowa tonight at Kennex stadium where the hawk is our ten and two in primetime since seven and those two losses both in the final seconds. You know, this has become a must win for Wisconsin. Here can they pull this off against the team is very similar to them. Not if they don't play better than they did last week. I mentioned last week. We were talking about the game of BYU. How Wisconsin gets western Kentucky. Mexico looked like it was going half speed because that's all it had to do to win those games. And last week. I don't know if they if they were going half speaker that was just what was going to be this because they look exactly the same last week gets BYU. They just ran into a team that was able to take advantage of it. So I think that maybe it serves as a wake-up call for them. And maybe they get to play like Wisconsin team that we expect them to be coming into the season. But like you said there's really no room for error because they do have those games against Michigan. Penn State coming less than they they're undefeated in the big ten so they could still win the west and still get to the conference championship game. It's just as far as having any kind of resemblance of a playoff hopes. They simply can't afford another loss in tonight's game against Iowa is huge simply because the way things have looked at this point in the year. It really looks like Wisconsin in Iowa are your two main. Intenders for the big ten west. So for both of them to open their conference seasons with a game against each other. This is a huge game for both of them right off jump. So it's important for both of these teams win because that way you get the tiebreaker over the other words, effectively if the two of you are the two teams competing for the division title of the year. This win gives you somewhat of a two game cushion over the other urban Meyer returns this afternoon. But what about the job Ryan day? Did how much did that put him on the coaching carousel? Oh, I think you're definitely gonna see Ryan days popping up this winter when jobs come up, and because it's obviously he steps into a situation where he's had one of the most talented teams in the country to coach, but it's still a difficult situation for somebody could just step in becoming interim coach for you know, a guy like remind who's won national titles. He won a national titles. Ohio State and keep things moving and keep the team from becoming distracted by everything that's going on off the field and all the talk surrounding that program and things that happened within the last few years with sack Smith to key. Keep them focused on what they have to do. That's commendable. That's something that I think athletic directors are going to see the whig. Yes. They're just see the way the offense played in the just, but they're also going to see how he handled the situation is that's really important for when you're looking for coach to run your program. And he got you know, he passed the flying colors those first three games and getting that win against TCU if huge because that was the one game, I think that you had to be concerned about with urban Meyer suspension 'cause you very good TV. They were able to win that game. Got you. They not only won it. But they were able to they were losing the game at times, and they didn't they didn't fold they lost. Nick, both one of their key players on defense, who we don't know how long he's going be out at this point. But they lost him during the game last week, and they were able to play over and overcome it and beat a really good team at a quota quote neutral site that was twenty minutes away from the team they were playing campus again, Nick Bosa you mentioned it a second ago out indefinitely after the core muscle surgery. How much of a concern is there with that? It's it's the concern. Listen, ohio. Our state has plenty of talent they recruit very well. They have guys that can step in and fill in. But the fact is we're talking about dick Bosa who's not just accounting player on a good defense. We're talking about a kid who you know before the season started before this injury started. There was talk that you know, he could be the number one pick it attract. He's that talented. You can't just have somebody step in and take over for that. Because you could see a pass rush is so better official to any defense that he's the best pass rusher that Ohio State has so losing him is not insignificant. And as we've seen at times this year, the Ohio State defense has a tendency to give up big place. They allowed him against Oregon state. They allowed some last week against TCU and having somebody like Bosa on your defense helps cover for that. Because if you give up a big play he's just as likely to go back and get the ball back put get and put the offense and second fifteen or seconds seventeen after a big play to get momentum. So his loss is not insignificant. I don't know if it's enough of a loss to derail Ohio State season because they still. Have plenty of talent. But it's something they're going to have to adjust to it, especially with you know, maybe not this week. But with the Penn State game moving next week. It's something that might be felt more later if he if he continues to miss time talking with Tom finale of CBS, sports dot.

"To thing of as we nation right now where they're talking about how uh pass interference in college football works and for those who don't know the difference in the nfl says spot foul if tom brady throws the ball sixty yards down the field and the guy trying to catch id has someone who passed interferes with him the ball is spotted all the way down the field where the player had the opportunity to catch id and the official throwing the flag says it happened right here this is where we spot the ball so you can be on the opposing forty yard line throw it down to the opposing 10 if there's pass interference at balls going to be spotted on the 10yard line wall now would be fifteen yards and that's it so fitch so for foul happens after fifteen yards then it's penalty boom fifteen yard penalty automatic first down here we go versus the spot foul um look i i i don't think this is very difficult these are perot's these are the guys were chosen to play in the nfl these are guys who if you get burned there should be a real penalty to it and furthermore you get thirty seconds left on the clock now you're going to start to get past interference left and right in my opinion because coaches will say what the hell with the don't give beat deep just grabbed the guy's a lula and we'll eat the fifteen yards come the popular strategy will not i yes and that's what i worry about because that would fundamentally ruining hurt the game love pat it's tough to play corner in the nfl and i get it with all the offense of rules maybe this is something that needs to be adjusted but i think there needs to be a bit of a sliding scale you can't just cabinet fifteen yards or else nfl teams and yuling hoods worth the sitting there going akg make it fifteen yards eu idiots uh i'll put on my door may go or look lagged morons uh you know it's worth is sitting there poland the hoodie even tighter emotion rings and laughing.

"That that is the reason that they actually ended up losing this game i think that's wrong and if you don't look at every individual call that was made the too big calls in this game in terms of yardage were pass 'interference penalties nobody's even arguing i think it was the fourth quarter jaylen ramsey penalty uh that was called for pass interference i think everybody would agree that was blatant so nobody's even arguing that no the voest most of the argument i have seen comes down to a first half past and and ramsey penalty uh that was called for pass interference i think everybody would agree that was blatant so nobody's even arguing that no the voest most that he did and i think that it was the right call that was made is it a borderline call may be i think it's slanted a little bit towards the patriots in terms of should it be called or not that boy a didn't need to do all of the contact that he did and i think that it was the right call that was made is it a borderline call may be i think it's slate i've been making this argument for several years now is that pass interference in the nfl should be a fifteen yard penalty if you are concerned about the impact of officiating and judgment call from terms of the likelihood that it would be called a maya argument here and i've been making this argument for several years now is that pass 'interference in the nfl should be a fifteen yard penalty if you're concerned about the impact of officiating and judgment call from officials then make pass interference be a fifteen yard penalty in the nfl to there may be your argument then as well the guys will of the to commit pass interference a lot more well okay that's fine i mean we have it in college football and i don't think that college football defensive backs commit pass interference intentionally that often because it's fifteen yards versus a fifty yard touchdown pass or something like that i think that that's the that's the right call that you should just apply fifteen yards to at all the time so if an official gets it wrong it's just a fifteen yard penalty is it a substantial yardage yes but it's not like it's a thirty or forty yard penalty like sometimes we see.

"The one thing that i have you know i've been saying for years you clue you know we have hutuled national put all week you have the ability to to look at this we put so much responsibility especially on a referee to see in you know fifteen yards behind the line of scrimmage in and try to kitchen angle to see if that defense then comes in and it's the water back in the chest during the chinnery the with the state's that you know all these illegals hits why not take thirty seconds a minutes and make sure you know that we do we have a foul that's one of the problems the nfl you know you just don't have that up the ability to replay those he the only go gets it's not part of the replete situation so i think that that would be you know goes with all the rule in dude is they do with a call a situation and i think they would be three assets of the national football agent so you spent so many years over a decade on on sealed as a raft witness you know we hear all the time and it's kinda like a throwaway comment but you he used witnessed that you've lived it how high speed these these massive athletes are and how violent you know the game really is that we know just because it's physical lousy extreme physicality i mean i it do you think us i've always felt evolution of training and nutrition and await athletes are as as pe as we learn as a society i think the game is even faster now than maybe let's say ten years ago would you agree disagree or maybe you could even talk on how fast the game really is when you're on field i would absolutely agree with you because when i first get into the national football league coming to south eastern conference i was with me it how much faster it was at that isn't that was you know 25 years ago.
