I think you've put your finger on a really important key thing that i've also been harping on a lot of people been harping on which is ball movement. You're seeing kemba walker changing his game to be more of a pure point guard then escort. I point guard. He's still kind of more of a score but compared to how usually plays he's passing the ball way more than he ever has. And marcus smart except for you know when he kind of feels the need to step up and fill in for people when they're missing for the most part he's also been moving the rock a lot more too so i think that's also been a really important part of what's been going right for boston recently. I thought robb looked good in both games with brooklyn like that's a team that could that i think they have to be considered the favorites to win the eastern conference at this point so to hang up against them. I think ultimately bodes well for the celtics. Even if it sucks that you didn't get the actual wind and then houston game. Houston is barely basketball team this year. So i don't know how much can really take away from that one they. They're they're really times dark in h town but you know it was. It was nice to see the main guys in jaylen and jayson. MLB announces revised 2021 Spring Training schedule
"Major league baseball announcing this afternoon. A revised two thousand twenty one spring training schedule with times. Cactus league teams like the reds are gonna play twenty. Eight came across thirty days with two off days and grapefruit. League clubs will play a regionalized scheduled. To mitigate travel afford the reds. They will start now. A day later than was originally planned reds playing the indians in goodyear on february the twenty eighth. We are sixteen days away from that. They'll have a day off on saturday march. Sixth on monday march twenty second. Finish up the cactus league on monday. March twenty ninth. They'll have to off days and then open the season in cincinnati against the saint. Louis cardinals a lot of these games we are. I think used for the most part spring training games taking place during the day and they've had more games at night in recent years certainly the last decade since they moved to arizona. I as a sarasota and before then plant city. The number of night games was typically pretty small. And there's been a few more. In recent years there are more for instance that first week of games. They played two games during the day and then four games at six o'clock mountain time. Eight o'clock here and then after that one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fifteen games in spring training which is not usual in fact. I'm looking here at their home games during the week pretty much. All of their home games are going to be at night. They have three saturday home games and then they have to. One o'clock games that are played during the day. And my guess here is. Maybe and i haven't looked at this. Because i'm kind of doing this on the is you could probably tell his night games against the indians to this year facility with but i wonder if that's in part because they want the indians to go and not travel as much so they're gonna play day games. I don't know but nonetheless more night games than usual but the date you care about. First game is against cleveland in goodyear february. The twenty eighth twenty. Cactus league games and thirty days there remains the possibility that cactus league games at least in the early going are gonna be five innings or seven innings. Just because there's not going to be as many guys in camp. At least at the outset we will see we will see sixteen days between now and and

Herbert only played fifteen games Clyde edwards helaire versus david. Montgomery all that later. But let's talk about the game. Dave i'll give you the first word. What jumped out at you. Thirty one two nine. Oh goodness So i picked kansas city. That was that was great. And i did it understanding that they were going to play the game without both of their starting offensive tackles. They've been playing without. One of their starting offensive tackles for a while but i also thought that maybe at some point within the two weeks that the chiefs were preparing for the game. They might have said okay. How are we going to go about. Playing football without are two. Starting offensive tackles against tampa bay. And i guess andy. Reid was like no worries. Mike remers got it and just kind of blows my mind so like i said after the game they were expecting more man coverage. That's a whole separate conversation. We have data that said that like tampa bay gonna play zone coverage if you remember the week twelve game they were destroyed by man coverage there no doubt that they were going to see a lot of zone coverage but the offensive line stuff. Man is unforgivable. And the fact that the chiefs didn't have a counterpuncher anything that tampa bay through at them. It didn't even feel like it was remotely close to the kansas city. Offense that we've seen for the last three seasons. It was horrible and it was embarrassing for andy reid and his entire staff It's it's it's terrible. And now they know look into city has a lot in place already for twenty. Twenty one homes ain't going anywhere. We're isn't going anywhere. Kelsey and tyreek aren't going anywhere They'll get back. Do vernay tardif at guard. Both the tackles will theoretically be healthy enough to play at least at some point early on in the season but they need to improve the depth of that offensive line and add talent to it along with adding maybe another. Pass rusher on defense to make quarterbacks uncomfortable that that's where we're headed. I think the offense will be fine but just really an embarrassing display by the chiefs offense in the game against tampa. Yeah the homes. First time he's lost by more than ten points first time he has not scored. His team has scored a touchdown in a game that he started since high school It did not happen in college. Had not happened in the pros And then yeah you re looking at the set for next year. We'll talk about this later. But the bucks have some key. Free agents okay. Shaq barrett played on the franchise. But i guess my question. No quarterback had ever been pressured as many times as mahomes was last night and yet tampa. Bay blitzed five times. They sent more than four rushers. five times. I don't know that there's any game planning when you can do when you're five guys up front. Just got their butts kicked over and over and over again by four guys up front. I don't know maybe they just got that and you don't blame it on the coaching. You just tip your hat to To the bucks front four and and and the secondary obviously play. Great to chris. Turner defense i prepared everything about holiday inn iguala essentially this. I mean it's biased. So you have to take it with a grain of salt. But i'm pretty sure steve. Kerr has listed. And i think that would dollar said that drew holiday was basically a defensive player of the year level caliber defense. I don't think either of those are quite true. I think it would allah. Yeah in washington inside. But they're fantastic. I don't think they're both defensive player of the year level. But they were both you know. Premier perimeter defenders. Yeah in watching drew in that series like he gave ray allen problems I'm here was on like he was kinda funny because in watching drew play a current game yesterday. Just it's kind of startling. How similarly he's playing offensively than compared to now he's not laying off at all. He's right on top of you. It just a suffocating defender and showed through in using credible I actually thought out of all the defenses that i that that that we walked in we talked about if you drop the seventy sixers defense in today and obviously you're not starting spencer hawes at least i hope not Say you have elton brand out there and you put that at the four. Because that was her sixth man that you're actually no They were weird because they just played like. They played like ten guys but they gave the bench fad. Played like twenty three twenty four minutes a game in a second. Most off bench louisville was their leading score off the bench that you're actually and just leading scorer in general and let's say But like that defense would hold up better today than i think. Their their defense is fun to watch like audrey. Your dala andrew holiday making rotations together with thad young out. There occasionally like i don't i. It's the kind of thing where it's like. I know that they weren't going anywhere. Which i don't always agree with. I mean think about that. If you keep jrue holiday with andrea dolls twenty eight twenty nine at this point thad. They're not a great. Maybe you get somebody. I don't know. I'm i just figured out how fun that defense would be to wash me. It's not playing as well as they were last year last year. At this time very opportunistic. They were taking shots. They were getting turnovers. They're not really doing that anymore. And look i mean covers. Say everything right. How many times You know they're not blowing out teams they're letting teams come back into games. Third fourth quarter. They'd been happening for weeks if it happened. All the way back in tampa game. For god's sakes so i mean this is a trend that's going in that direction and now with an unhealthy mahomes. I think there's a lot of paul's a lot of questions can be fastened to see where the money goes in. That game goes more on the buffalo side or not one in eight or whatever in their last nine games or something Against the spreads. They're just not getting it done. But you know the number was bleeding. I started at one went to one and a half went to two and a half to three. But here's the deal. Look i couldn't agree with you more. The last year and i never thought their defense was great to begin with. I just thought that they had patrick. Mahomes tyree kill travis. Kelsey sammy watkins. And they were and beyond that williams had all these guys that were speedy and they were faster than everybody in there and that quarterback was so amazing and it was just like they were down ten of down in the super bowl. They still won. But here's the deal. Cleveland did whatever they wanted to that defense. On on sunday day literally moved around did whatever they wanted. He threw the ball if he would have got the ball again. If they don't come to fort down the third and fourteen in the fourth and one if they don't cover it they're cleaning gets mayfield's going down in scorn hagan's fumbled at the end zone through the end zone. They lose that opportunity and then they cry about it. Whatever doesn't matter because that role has been there forever. It is what it is but my point is. This is off alot. I think buffalo josh allen and that passing game is is even on another in the pen. House floor of the condo and up and browns are living down on the eleventh floor. The penthouse's where josh allen list. I think they can go in there. Move the ball throw the ball all day and get a lead and take that lead into the fourth quarter and it will come down to canton matt. Defense stop mahomes in the fourth quarter. And and what's so fascinating too in that game is you're talking about the strengths of each team. Right the strength of the chiefs throwing the football patrick mahomes and the strength of the buffalo bills. Besides the way josh allens played this year is that secondary. They're they're they're fantastic group. I again just watching them. The last three years kind of assembled this team general managers on a fantastic job of putting these guys together. And that's going to be like the heavyweight match up to me. It's ken mahomes tyreek hill. And then travis kelsey company go out there and throw the ball on the secondary effectively and they really don't have much of a running game at this point. I mean levy on bells i think on and then you have actually ty words layer with the injury and williams played admirably yesterday and he stepped up in moments at times. But i don't think you really fearing that guy know if that's the guy you're gonna make beaches so be like nick. Williams beat me if i'm buffalo there. I'm i'm content there. That i will live and die with but that's what the match ups all about and i think the secondary honestly up to the task and then you're telling me mahomes not one hundred percent fascinating game. I think next sunday for sure. And and the bills over ton of credit to you because every week somehow i don't know how they do it but they find ways to get stefan bigs open all the time and every week you look up. There's crooked numbers are on the eight for one eighteen touchdown nine for ninety nine and two touchdowns and i'm thinking i. So why don't we double guy. When do we just take on out of the equation. Nobody's been able to do it. And i gotta tell you the secondary the chiefs. That's the last group. That i think is really gonna do it. Look they got more than him to they got beasley. They got tight ends. They got I think they terrific. Yeah right i mean. It's it's unbelievable to me that you know. Look going into the game and i hit both of those games the packers to win and the spread and the bills to win in the sprint. And i said coast to coast the audience and at carberhighcbs huge bills fan. I talked to him off the air. I was like look man. The cream rises. This team won. Thirteen games for a reason now. They've won fifteen games. Kansas city's one fifteen games. I'm not surprised in the in the in the least that these are the two teams plan for the afc championship. Yeah i'm not surprised by either. But i can tell you you know from a from an old patriot fan perspective. I can give you. There's the years where. I always felt really good as patriots. Fan like it fell off in our building where you know. We're the number one we're gonna crush it and then there's years where you feel like. They're hanging on by a thread starting to feel like kansas city's hanging on their match up. You know there tough match-up there because kelsey is a is a very unique weapon. There's there's nobody out there really like him and then tokyo obviously with that speed. You know the fact that they can score in one play. That explosiveness is very difficult. And that is one of those. Momentum swings mentioned that johnson interception right the momentum swings some playoff games everything and had cleveland have that momentum swinger that higgins touchdown things would have been much different. Inspirations will of the wisps has somehow managed to be even more beautiful and I say this as a person who plays a lot of video games and looks at a lot of video games so I hope you don't take this as excessive hyperbole but it is seriously one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen. It's incredible I have had a four K. TV for years. But this is the first time I've ever really felt like I'm seeing a substantial benefit to the technology and I think it's mostly due to the diverse color palette and the way light streams through the trees. It really it just looks absolutely incredible. It also plays great. I sometimes as the quality of a game on how willing I am to forgo sleep in order to play and this is a game that kept me up very late last night. I think it's one I would like to give a proper review to here on the podcast. Which is something. I want to do periodically but my early impressions are very positive. There have been reports of the pre release version of the game experience severe issues Ben Kutschera for example over at Polygon wrote after playing the pre release version of orient seeing what condition it is currently in however and receiving an official list of known issues. That should be fixed in the Games day one patch. We've decided to hold the publication of the Games Review. I didn't play a pre release version myself and was able to start with the day one patch so far about two to three hours in. I haven't run into any issues. That doesn't mean there aren't issues. I could just be very lucky but I wouldn't let reports like that scare you off the day. One Patch seems like addressed a lot of issues or he and the will of the wisps is currently sitting at a ninety one on metacritic which is an impressive score. Also speaking of metacritic review embargo lifted last night for neo too though the game doesn't come out until March thirteenth. It's currently sitting at a very respectable.
