"Buried some of the evidence as we might say, and she did this because she was basically using the people of California who were incarcerated is cheap labor for the state that is accusation from Tulsi Gabbard, and there's pretty good evidence to back that up. The high speed rail authority also pulled down important background information as well as board meeting minutes and change orders while Kamala. Harris was working with the high speed rail authority. So you see two different things that have already bubble to the top even before Harris was a possible vp pick when she was running to be president that her record. Now, let me tell you what's going to happen. If Kamala Harris is the pig she's going to continue to bring up how she was one of the first students who was bussed in California okay. If that's the case she attacked by over this. So you already see the problems with how she went after by no it was a presidential primary where they were trying to get the votes for the Democrat Party and so they were wanting to beat each other out. The thing is is Harris walked away giving Joe Biden, black us and houses going to resonate with people when they go out on the campaign trail, let's just look at what's going on in America rotten now, and this is where you need to educate yourself oaks Kamala Harris who kept an innocent black man from being freed because she wanted to use him as cheap labor. And she was a police officer which the minority community already feels that they are a hell down by. Okay. So you have these these instances here where you have someone who was the site of California's top police officer I, mess mess way to put. It has the attorney general and she purposefully buried evidence to keep people imprisoned especially people of Color. Because, she wanted to use them as cheap labor for the state It makes one thing that probably Kamala Harris is nothing but a hypocrite now, I'm all for law and order. I believe that if you break that law, then you should be punished I think that no one is above the law regardless of what the? Democrats may say about how ill about any conservative? At the same time though I do find it very odd that Joe Biden would be considering one person in Miss Bass. Who is a huge supporter of Fidel, Castro and communism, and now she wants to play that off been member of church while she's okay with killing babies and then on the other hand he's looking at Kamala Harris who has a terrible record towards her own people now I don't think skin color should matter I think that you should be innocent whether you're black white brown, yellow red, whatever it may be, and the same thing applies it if you are. Red Brown yellow, black and white, and you commit a crime you should be held accountable. I. Think that's part of our problem in our country is we don't really want to cover the real issues would just want to blame somebody else. We don't want to have personal responsibility. But Kamala Harris Rickard. Has Been wiped clean. What does that? Tell you? As Attorney General, you're not gonNA, be able to go back and see what she did..

Leading Democratic VP Contender Bass Defends Stance on Cuba

"Democratic representative Karen Bass, a top contender to be Joe Biden's running mate, is defending her past travel to Cuba and the sympathetic comments she made after the death of Fidel Castro in 2016. Past, says she was trying to express her condolences to the Cuban people when she referred to Castro with a title that roughly translates as commander in chief but is reviled by some Cuban exiles in Florida. Bass, who represents California in Congress, said she was unaware of the phrase is political significance in Florida At the time, she said, she wouldn't do that again and realized that that was something that was just shouldn't have been said after talking to colleagues from Florida. Cuba and the left wing US group that organized trips for Americans to build homes in the country, and during that specific trip, she actually went to hear Castro speak. Now. When Fidel Castro died in two thousand sixteen. Now remember she went there seventy three worn out talking about twenty sixteen, which was just a few years ago that same time trump was running against Clinton just keep in mind. She referred to Castro as a Commandante in Jeff, which is commander in chief. The people there if they have a car may be driving a car from the nineteen fifties. If you're looking to buy automobile like an old Chevrolet from the fifties or seeks early sixties, Cuban might be the spot to go get it. Cuba has been rattled with all kinds of different problems from hurricanes to political strife to the people eating out of garbage cans because at the end of the day, Communism Socialism doesn't work, but it makes us question. It makes us wonder what Cairn bias real intentions are. If she has been a Castro supporter since the seventies, the early seventies, it really lanes to the fact that most likely she's going to be of the socialistic mindset she's going to want to have this big socialism slash communism policies come in. But. It's not only the links to the Fidel Castro group that has gotten in hot water because we're also finding out that she has ties to the Church of Scientology. Now Karen Pass has come in and she has now said that she is a member of the first new Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in South? L. A. Okay. Number One, what part of Castro's regime do you think was Christian at all I? Mean if you're a baptist, if you're if you're a bobble believing baptists and how in the world could you support Castro who kills his own people? If you're a member of the new church New Christian fellowship, Baptist Church in South L. A. had to stand for abortion. How how do you support that I mean this? Is the Obama switch where they'll tell you one thing and say what I'm a Baptist and I belong to this church but it's the same time out of the other side of their mouth entailing you. Well, it's OK to kill a baby and it's okay to burn bibles. That's what they're doing in Portland right now, I don't know if you guys have seen that but in in Portland Antifa, members are burning bibles. So, we see the problems we see the huge issues with Karen Bass and some of the issues that may be presented with what she's doing. So there's no doubt. There's no doubt if by picks her, it's going to destroy the vote in. Florida with the Cuban x Cuban folks the people who came here and fled that communist country. Joe Biden's Potential Running Mate: Who Is Karen Bass?

"Campaign Campaign 2020. 2020. We We don't don't have have long long to to wait wait for for Joe Joe Biden Biden to to announce announce his his running running mate. mate. It's It's expected expected to to happen happen next next week. week. As As the the list list is is narrowed. narrowed. California California Democratic Democratic Congresswoman Karen Bass is considered a key contender. She's 66 chairs the Congressional Black Caucus. We talk about Bass with Washington Post political analyst and data columnist David Beiler, who has continued his Siri's looking at various potential Biden. Runningmate. Karen Bass would be governing choice rather than election choice. You know, she's a representative from California, California is not exactly a swing state so she doesn't have exactly those advantages. But her advantages would really come into play. Actually, when buying is in office so fast is widely known as someone who is a compromiser who sort of an incrementalist, not someone who is necessarily a purist, which really sets with Biden's governing style. He talks a lot about wanting to negotiate and compromise with the Republicans as much as possible. She is the head of the Congressional Black Caucus. On DSO. Dominating paths would be a real nod to multiple different groups that have been important to the buying campaign. There's black women who are the most Democratic demographic group in the country. There are black congressional leaders like Jim Clyburn, who helped revive Biden's campaign when it was really on the ropes in late February of this year. Andi. She's someone who I think you've seen in recent interviews has some instincts that are a little bit Biden esque When asked about the defund the police slogan she sort of did to step that. I think you reminded me. A fine one was to say, I don't like defund the police as a slogan, which is smart because that collection of words does not pull well. At the same time, we're sort of able to say they're these elements of the plans that I support. And those are elements of the plans that her constituents like so she kind of has a lot of stylistic things and a lot of talents and abilities that I think makes her sort of governing pick if you well, you alluded to this about the fact that she's from California, and you're not gonna get a Republican victory in California at least on this level. Is that the one downside to abiding bass ticket or are there others? I think the other downside is that the vetting Been relatively minimal compared to some of the other candidates. Now, Obviously, the buying campaign is doing their own betting with every candidate right now, and you know, putting him through the paces and seeing if there's something going on That they wouldn't want on their ticket. But Bass within the last couple months has come under fire for remarks where she called Fidel Castro commandant and Hef and sort of had a tone that lot of other people. Democrats from Florida in particular did not appreciate so the question with passes. Is there more baggage? When you look at someone like Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren? They've already been through the wringer and a presidential primary. Susan Rice has already gone through a Senate confirmation hearing. So the question with bass is also just Is there anything that you don't know that might be harmful, and the answer might be know that by knows everything and that there's nothing else there. But You know, there's some amount of risk in a pick that hasn't been in the public eye so much. David Beiler, political analysts and data columnist for The Washington Post, joining us on Skype.

"We're not going to do that. Only if we choose your VP because we want somebody in the of its our person. So you, Khun Bet if this bass woman is being bandied about That she's a left wing, socialist slash communist like IOC and the rest of them. You can bet your bottom dollar. They're not going to be talking about anybody who is not. So apparently they've done some focus groups and some polling on Kamala Harris and she and panning out too well, and you know why it's not because she's a woman of color because that's who Biden's going to get is a woman of color, whether he wants it or not. It's because Kamala Harris is totally unlikable. She's the crew relative ill of the field. That's out there. They don't like her people don't like her. She comes across is mean and nasty and a winch and nobody likes her. And so they're doing testing and they they go, okay? Kamala Harris is and testing well. People think that she's Well, they just don't like her. They think she is a witch with a capital B. And so we're going to find somebody else that they latched on to this. This bass woman. And people are going. Who the heck is this? Exactly? Who is this woman? So let's take a look at who this woman is because she's just sort of come on the scene. The hill has a piece on her. The moment, um, that have been building around representive. Karen Bass, Democrat from California as a possible VP pick for Joe Biden has come to an abrupt halt amid controversy over Cuba. Well, well, well. This from last night. The suggestion that Bass harbored some degree of past sympathy for the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro has caused consternation among Democrats in Florida. They were that selecting bass could seriously in danger. Biden's chances in the largest of the battleground states the stakes could hardly be higher. They worn Oh, my gosh, I hope they pick this woman. I hope they pick this woman. They worry that selecting ban Would be a mistake picking bass violates the central tenet of the vice presidential selection. Which is do no harm, according to Florida based pollster and Democrat strategist for Ferdinand a Monday It does not just do harm. It would very well be something that sabotages the prospects of carrying the nation's biggest swing state in an election that must be one for the future of the republic. See, here's the deal now when you're looking at strategy So you get this bass woman. And she's from California. And she's a Fidel Castro person. And you know, you got a lot of Democrats that air of Cuban ancestry. Some came from Cuba. But a lot of those folks Are no longer living. So they are the Children and grandchildren of Cuban refugees. People have fled Castro and so they still know. I mean, you know, they probably still have Fidel Castro dart boards in the house and all the rest of this stuff. Can't stand the dude but a lot of vote Democrat for whatever reason. I don't understand it, but they do. So you bring along a Karen bass who is sympathetic to Fidel Castro. But of course she would be because you've got the AOC wing of the Democratic Party that's choosing the VP. You're not going to find anybody on that wing of the part of this not sympathetic to a communist leader. That's what they are. They, Fidel Castro's fabulous So what are they going to do? I mean, they have to find somebody who doesn't like communism. And that's not what they're all about, So they're going to put a coming in there. There's no doubt about it. Cuban Americans usually cast around 6% of all votes in the Sunshine State. They're generally hostile to Castro, either because they themselves fled the island at some point after 1959 for younger generations, because stories of lost homes and businesses and perilous journeys into exile in the United States are embedded in the family psyche. Plays. Pick this woman, please. Because if you're the Trump campaign, looking from a strategy standpoint. Then you can pretty much just leave Florida and go campaign in some of the other battleground states. You got Florida. I'm not saying that they would do that. But you can pretty much say if the bass woman is on The Ah, the ticket. Then we've got Florida sewn up because the Cubans ain't gonna vote for And they'll either stay home or they'll go and vote for Trump. So we move on to Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Some of these other places that we had to have and did get last time. Bass is the chairman of the congressional Black Carcass has been a rising, rising swiftly in the field of potential vice presidents for Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, her advocates Argue that she is respected by all factions of the party and will therefore be effective and energizing progressives while not striking a discordant note, where the more centrist Biden She had was also being talked up in some quarters is a better choice than Kamala Harris, who had been seen as a possible front runner. Bass herself, Howard pushed back and political report that called her the anti Kamala Harris tweeting praise for the California senator and adding that she would be an excellent VP. And the same goes for anyone else on the list. Our record on Cuba was shunted into the spotlight after the Atlantic reported about her youthful trips to the island with a left wing group. The vin cetera most brigade primarily in the 19 seventies. The story also noted the basses reaction to Castro's 2016 death, She said at the time of his death was a great loss to the people of Cuba. And referred to him as a comandante on yet The phrase literally means commander in chief. In that context, it's widely seen as a compliment to catch. Really, No, really. She loves Castro, she says. His death is a great loss of the Cuban people plays plays, please, for the love of God, and all that's holy put her on the ticket. We'll be back after this..

"It has a long tradition, and we want to encourage any American that is not able to go to the polling place for any reason to apply for an absentee ballot today. With this universal mail in voting where you're going to see it literally. Ballots showered all across the state. It just it. It is rare for fraud and and we are headed straight. To the court to put a stop to it. Okay? No, he's not wrong. There's only one problem. This administration can't stay on the same page for more than five seconds seriously today. President Trump tweeted quote. Whether you call it vote by mail or absentee voting in Florida. The election system is safe and secure. It tried and true, Florida's voting system has been cleaned up. We defeated Democrats attempt to change. So in Florida. I encourage all to request a ballot in vote by mail. So he's now encouraging mail in voting in Florida. Why? Well, because probably somebody told him that if you keep discouraging mail in voting, Republicans won't get their ballots. But Democrats will So we now have mixed messaging on that as well. What What? Just what a mess all the way around. Now, Speaking of message all the way around. You know, the The Biden campaign continues to be a mess, but nobody's noticing it because basically, Biden's only role here is just to be bear it barely alive, like, not not super light, just barely alive. Florida Rep. Val Demings on Her Biden Endorsement

"Over the last two years congresswoman. Val demings of Florida has had a front row seat to history. She serves on the House. Intelligence Committee the House Judiciary Committee and she was one of the seven house. Impeachment managers who argued for the conviction of President Trump. And now demings name is being bandied about as a possible vice presidential nominee is she. I totally forgot to ask her about her Harley but I did ask her about trump Florida her support of Joe Biden and yes whether she wanted to be considered for vice president here at all right now congresswoman bowel demings. Thank you very much. For being on the PODCAST. It's great to be with you. So let's just jump right on in you endorsed. Vice President Biden. You are from Florida can he carry Florida In November can a Democrat. Win Florida in November. I have no doubt that a Democrat can win Florida the numbers and Florida's support that But what we're facing assist a matter of turnout and so our job is to make sure that we turn Democratic voters out when we looked at Super Tuesday I think if we watched the voters and listen to the voters the voters are deciding and I thank on Super Tuesday. They were strong. They were powerful. I think they sent a clear message about who they believe can lead our country and move a democratic agenda forward. We saw every demographic turn out and as you know Florida's a very diverse state And I think if what has happened what happened on. Super Tuesday is any indication of what will happen to in Florida's primary. I think that we're going to be in really good shape. Now I'd sort of bounce ahead I did mention you. Endorse Vice President Biden. But there's still contest right now. There's a bird contest you know what what I just feel so hopeful about. We know what we have experienced the last three years almost four now and there is no way. American families can go through another four years of what we've seen And so you know when I look at the democratic feeling as you all know several of my colleagues were in that race what I knew and we heard it quite a bit but I believed it to be true is that anyone on the democratic side would be better than what we have and now we're basically down to two individuals who. I believe if you look at what they believe in what they fought for. Then certainly Will be in better shape. I just happen to believe that one of them Vice President Biden really is the want to carry the agenda forward and really Unify our country. Which is so desperately needed right now. How damaging was it or is it to Senator Sanders. The comments that came out from the the old video of him praising Fidel Castro and then even his defense of his comments about Fidel Castro again from a Florida Lens was that damaging to his effort. Well again you've listened to the people and I think the people and those who represent them spoke loudly and clearly and I won't certainly will not guess about what Senator Sanders Sarah what he meant to say but what I do know. Is that several people who live in our very diverse state. Were upset by those comments. And so you know we're in the middle of a race. We're going to let the let full radiance to But I think you know when you look at Vice President Biden. He has been in the trenches fighting for issues that we care about for a long time fighting for issues that before it was popular quite frankly to fight for them like marriage. Equality issues like climate control. Certainly he's been a unifier along the way and I love what Whip Clyburn said I think most of all he said we know Joe but more important Joe knows us and that's because he's been there fighting for those issues and building those relationships longtime he didn't wait until he decided to run for the most powerful position In the country and so. I think like I said I just. I go back to watch the voters I know. There's a lot of talk about the establishment. I quite frankly find that I am not quite sure what that means when voters turn out in. Great numbers We certainly know how the African American turnout was led by South Carolina I don't know what the establishment means but I certainly know what people go to the polls mean and we saw

voters they have something very specific in mind that they're looking for and in this election and in the last few elections in particular twenty sixteen election her surgeon was that the personal thing that people in America are voting for is change they want the system to start working for the people instead of just for the fat cats now back in twenty fourteen a couple researchers at Columbia northwestern university's Martin gallons and bad Benjamin page discovered that all the way back to around the late nineties early two thousands that if you looked at public opinion surveys about what the bottom ninety percent of Americans wanted to have happen legislatively and compared that with the actual legislation that passed there was no relationship between the two these somewhere in the late eighties early nineties or or maybe even the late nineties but you know they didn't they didn't go back to quantify the exact start point but certainly for the last twenty years the legislation that gets passed through Congress does not reflect the desires of the vast majority of Americans instead what it does reflect the desires of the top one percent their interests their their social interests their political interests their economic interests are consistently made into law but the interest of the bottom the you know the the the bottom ninety percent of us now which is a good arguments were were literally no longer Democratic Republic because in a democracy I mean the whole definition of democracy of functional definition is that what the people want is what the government does that's why you have the we the people first three words of the of the preamble of the constitution and the declaration of independence as I recall and so yeah this is this is what a democracy is an it's not us anymore and people this people in only known intuitively they noted got level that's why when Donald Trump got up in twenty fifteen and he said the system is rigged it's not working for you anymore he says make me president and I'm gonna raise the taxes on these rich people and lower the taxes are working class people is I'm gonna take such a hit I would take such a bath I would be hurt so bad but I'd small right thing to do for my country I really and he got up on that stage and he said do you know I'm the only person on this entire stage always other Republicans I'm the only one who will not cut social security and Medicare of course he has proposed cutting it and every single one of his budget that he's got the staff for both agencies in every single year he and the Republicans I mean he was lying through his teeth and all this stuff he said I'm a guy is gonna bring your homes your jobs back home from China wrong actually there's been more outsourcing since he's become president yeah he had some terracing now they interrupted some a few things button short term and in fact now yeah I just got an email from a pharmacy that I've used over the years online pharmacy and it can actually Canadian pharmacy and they say that they in their email they point out that all the drugs and all the raw materials for the drugs in all but the vast majority the drugs sold in North America the United States and Canada actually made in China what appeals are pressed in India but the raw ingredients are are all coming out of China and the the supply chain disruptions the associated with the virus out of China and **** in courting is not the word that they use what they use what they said is you know there are export limits because China wants drugs to be available for its own population first and foremost are they represent the possibility of shortages particularly with important pharmaceuticals so you know this is the amount that ago two months ago I was saying get a ninety day supply whatever you take you know if it's important to so but anyway back to back to what people vote for some ritual but Culver was saying basically people want change they want the country to work for them again what is that that's that's basically a populist message and that's what trump and it's part of why he's in the White House I mean the biggest part of why he's right in the White House is he had a little bit of help from some some billionaire oligarchs and foreign countries a bit of Saudi Arabia and Russia apparently the top of the list and that he he you know he lied through his teeth and he had ripped the Republican party's in Wisconsin Michigan Pennsylvania Ohio I engaging in massive voter suppression throwing hundreds of thousands of people and every single one of those states mostly people mostly black people in so in urban areas off the voting rolls and we just saw this this week or the mayor of Kansas city is black showed up to vote where he's voted for every year for for every week in a last old town elections board of himself four times and he wasn't on the voter rolls anymore Missouri took him off the rolls while they got a good Republican secretary of state so they would be you know who this is why the Republicans do this but the bottom line she was saying this is what people want and so there's this really interesting conversation with her that it is popping up in a in a bunch of different sites and I'm sorry I don't have my normal printer here side I did I was able to print the whole article out it wouldn't it wouldn't print right so I just took a piece of it so I can't tell you where this came from but you should be able to find it fairly easily with the search on her name B. I. TCO C. O. F. E. R. I believe it is actually I can tell you it is B. I. T. T. C. O. F. E. R. Rachel RAC AGL Hey how she what she says is that many voters especially those independents and swing voters are very susceptible to negative campaigns Bernie has a weakness in that regard because it's going to be supported by a party that is an apt at messaging well that's gonna be the case whether it's burning or Joe right and she goes on to say those who oppose Bernie Sanders and think you could do in the party are overlooking how Bernie Sanders is the only present the one presidential candidate primary candidates who can negate Donald trump's populist advantage in terms of messaging is probably a major disadvantage to go into the general election with the Washington establishment candidate such as Joe Biden this is Rachel but cover Obama to trump voters are going to support trump in that contest with Biden it's an almost automatic if the Democrats win very Sanders able real opportunity when those voters the election it was messaging possibility.

The 1992 Little League World Series Scandal

"Event the International Youth Sports while it might Okun Image of fun and innocence throughout its seventy three year history. The tournament has been plagued by scandal and on the afternoon of August. Twenty Ninth Nineteen Ninety. Two as spectators watched the Filipino team celebrating on the field after clobbering their American opponents. They couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that something about the situation didn't feel quite right. Welcome to sports criminals. Apar- cast original. This is the third episode in our March Madness. Special this month. We're counting down the top thirty one sports scandals from nineteen ninety. Two Thousand Twenty. I'm Carter Roy and I'm Tim Johnson in today's episode. We're going back to nineteen ninety two and the Little League World Series Scandal. Zamboanga city located on a small remote island in the Philippines is most famous for its canned sardine industry but in nineteen ninety two. It was the city's Little League Baseball team that caught the world's attention the team from Zamboanga breezed through the World Series Tournament. Demolishing everyone in its path until trouncing a squad from Long Beach California in the championship. Game fifteen to four from a gold medal in boxing thirty years before the boys victory represented the most significant athletic achievement. In the country's history they returned to the Philippines as heroes where President Fidel Ramos through them. A parade in the capital city and awarded them over forty dollars in scholarship money. Nearly everyone in the country celebrated the team's victory everyone except journalist Al Mendoza as a journalist. Mendoza's job was to tell the truth. Which wasn't always easy in a country like the Philippines twenty years before dictator Ferdinand Marcos had banned anything beyond state-sanctioned news and only recently after a regime change had independent news outlets resumed operation. Just a day. After the team's Victory Parade Mendoza published a column in the daily Enquirer with the heading mothers. How old are your children? He not only cast doubt on the ages of the players from Zamboanga City. But whether they were actually from the small town as they claimed to qualify for the Little League world series players must be between ten and twelve years old and the player must live within the geographic boundary of the town or city that his or her team represents for example. Boy From Austin Texas. Can't play on team from Dallas. Ten to twelve is also a tricky age because of the disparity and boys sizes and appearance at that age some of almost reach their adult height will others are still under five feet tall to Mendoza and many others the Filipino players looked too and too poised for boys that age after he published his column. The American League president fact sheet of questions to his counterpart in the Philippines to confirm the players were the correct age and if they were all from Zamboanga City in his response the Filipino. Little League president declared that all the players were of legal age but admitted that several from outside Zamboanga city had been added to the roster because the original players weren't able allowed to travel to the United States. He explained that Zamboanga City is a very rural area and that many of the boys were needed to work on their parents farms. Others had been too afraid to fly. He also maintained that if the substitution hadn't been made the original team from Zamboanga City would have beaten the Americans by twice as much but days later Mendoza and his colleagues revealed that excluding the eight players added to the roster from other cities the six players actually from Zamboanga city. Were all over. Asia anywhere from thirteen to fifteen years old and had assumed the identities of younger boys in town that the team had replaced their original manager with coach from Manila. A coach who couldn't even speak or understand the dialect used in Zamboanga City. Furthermore the parents of the overage athletes had also assumed false identities in an effort to maintain the ruse. Maybe the Little League Baseball could overlook the replacement of a few kids who were too scared to fly but when it came to systematic fraud perpetrated by multiple generations. They had no choice but to strip the Filipino team of its title and awarded to the boys from

"Fidel Castro Castro's regime was brutal but much to the surprise of many Sanders continued to defend the lake comments later here's my friend and colleague Dennis Prager take it away folks back in the nineteen eighties Sanders had some positive things to say about the former Soviet Union and the Sandinistas in Nicaragua and everybody was totally convinced there is explaining why the Cuban people didn't rise up and help the U. S. overthrow Cuban leader Fidel Castro he truly transformed society we're very opposed to the authoritarian nature okay but but you don't because it's unfair to simply say everything is bad you know when Fidel Castro came into office you know what he did he had a massive literacy program it's not a bad thing even though Fidel Castro that he loved the dissidents imprisoned and and that's right and we condemn that please wait he condemned the okay like to first of all FIFA via please transform the society that's key that's exactly what the senators wants to do in the left wants to transform American society exactly right they love to Castro what's wrong with that he he he literacy campaign I've talked about this this is the left the left the left it does not think but clearly morally it's it's it's a broken moral compass show you can deprive people of all freedom you can torture people who want freedom but if you taught people how to read then you're you're that's a real plus what if somebody said you know listen and this is this study using advisedly this is a fair comparison obviously Castro did not have extermination camps what what if somebody said look of course with Hitler did to the Jews and others is despicable but on the other hand you know the guy did conquer inflation that was ravaging that Germany made full employment he built the autobahn able to Volkswagen slot more than that by the way ironically more than Castro did my answer to this but he's got full literacy folks I rather be illiterate and freed the literate and be told what I can read but the left doesn't value liberty therefore healthcare all health care right everybody got pretty crappy healthcare so for the tourists who visit and they've shown special hospitals this is this is the man this is another reason why I say I look to the Bible for six so much wisdom hello king arose a new federal rules actually king arose a new king arose who did not know Joseph the new generation arose that did not know communists that's what I could say about the new generation so they could vote for this fool this moral idiot.

Olof Palme assassinated - Feb. 28, 1986

"The day was February. Twenty Eighth Nineteen eighty-six Swedish Prime Minister Olaf Palme was assassinated. The case remains unsolved though the investigation of the murder is still underway. Olaf Palme got his law degree from the University of Stockholm in one thousand nine hundred eighty one. He soon joined the Social Democratic Labour Party and got a job. In Sweden's Defense Ministry in Nineteen fifty. Three Palma was hired as the speechwriter. And Private Secretary of Tog Earl. Under the Prime Minister of Sweden from nineteen forty six to nineteen sixty nine palme was elected as a member of parliament in nineteen fifty seven and he continued to climb the political ladder in nineteen sixty three. He was appointed cabinet minister without port. Folio that title just means that he was elevated to the rank without being given responsibilities for a specific area of the government's activities from nineteen sixty five to nineteen sixty seven. Palme was minister of communication and in nineteen sixty seven. He was minister of Education and Culture AS MINISTER OF EDUCATION. He advocated for the inclusion of Marxist thought in curriculum and in nineteen sixty eight he marched against US involvement in the Vietnam War Homma morphed into an outspoken opponent of US foreign policy and as a result relations between Sweden and the US deteriorated in nineteen sixty nine. He was elected chairman of the Social Democratic Party and he became Prime Minister of Sweden. Pomme continue to be critical of the US's involvement in the war in Vietnam. He forged connections with cultural leaders and politicians around the world all the while gaining more international attention. He spoke out against apartheid in South Africa. He allied with Fidel Castro Prime Minister of Cuba at the same time Sweden with undergoing extensive social reforms. Some of the issues that these reforms affected were subsidized housing. Social Security Maternity leave and other family policies. This meant that taxes in Sweden or some of the highest in the World Palma's first term as prime minister lasted until nineteen seventy six when the lack of support for the Social Democrats led Palma to fall from power during this time. He acted as a mediator in the Iran hostage crisis as well as the Iran Iraq war but he was once again elected prime minister taking office in one thousand nine hundred eighty two. He continued to focus on international issues addressing wines like disarmament and security but he had evolved to become a little less politically controversial on February. Twenty Eighth Nineteen eighty-six Palmer and his wife least bit. We're walking home from the movies in Stockholm. He did not have bodyguards with him at the time just before midnight. Palme was shot from behind the first bullet which hit him in the back severed his spinal cord a second bullet Grace Lee bit. He was quickly transported to the hospital but he was declared dead mini conspiracy theories about who killed. Palme are merged a man named Chris. Dr pedder shown was arrested and convicted of his murder. But the conviction was overturned in Nineteen eighty-nine and pederson died in two thousand and four. Investigators have suspected the sweetest military. The South African Secret Service and the Kurdistan Workers Party though there were many witnesses to the shooting and thousands of people have been questioned. The murderer has not been solved.

"About Fidel Castro he destroyed freedoms in that country he played picks winners and losers and kill them and put them in prison forever you don't give a Pat on the back for anything it's funny the truth is truth sorry if you want if somebody wants to all of those congresspeople that you mentioned just so happen to be supporting other candidates just accidentally knocked out once in a while you know the truth is the truth and that's what happened in the first two years of the Castro regime what is the answer you get from thirty centers there welcome to the box section show everybody you would think that Bernie Sanders might take the off ramp here that CNN was clearly clearly providing him right there that he could walk away from his comments about the literacy program by the way the literacy of the Cuban people went from somewhere in the mid seventy percentile range to like maybe ninety percent and that was at the cost of the enslavement of the entire island the appropriation of not just rich people but middle class people's property indoctrination programs master tension mass executions torture brutalization and yes huge numbers of people risking death as a Cuban immigrant to this country now a proud American explained it to me always remember that people were not just willing to risk their own lives but fathers the mothers were willing to get on rickety rafts homemade homemade rafts and risk the possibility of watching their children drown before them or their children giving my sharks that's how desperate they were to get off of this island that Bernie Sanders things integrate literacy program now we're not overstating this this this is no longer that point in conservative media you say come on is this is this man to just get a rise out of people or is there a little bit of media exaggeration going on here we have a socialist who is now on a glide path to becoming the democratic nominee for the presidency and not only does he not hide the fact it is a social is quite open about it obviously but he won't even repudiate his previous warm comments about some of the most awful to tell a turn regimes on the planet and this guy wants to be in charge of the executive branch of the United States government in less than a year I think it's a big deal I think we can all of you this is something that is worthy of our attention and our time and just remember this as scary as it is the Democrat corporate media at the CNN MSNBC New York times washing post industrial complex they'll they'll find some way to push Sanders on us they they don't care anybody but trump anyone who they think will give them some of what they want even if it means a complete abandonment of some of the core principles of this country for now well really since the beginning and if you look at individual rights and constitutional the constitutional restraint on government and then you look at what the Sanders administration is already proposing to do it's effectively at war with the founding principles of this country he wants to turn us into a all that's right kind of like what Obama said fundamentally transform the country that was his promise and now Sanders looks to finish finish that process this is troubling to say the least it's something that we should take very seriously we have to take it very seriously Bernie Sanders also takes all the wrong lessons from history and from other models around the world all of the wrong models he somehow has managed to spend his entire adult life distilling the incorrect lessons of state control authoritarianism intervention by government authorities in the markets all the wrong lessons that that's really his his magic power he's always he's like Joe Biden on foreign policy to always get it wrong Bernie Sanders on the market I don't what creates wealth and prosperity for all people always gets it wrong all he knows how to do is class warfare agitation he doesn't even know how to implement that class were for agitation after remember that he has even had experience at the controls he's just a loud voice on the corner yelling about millionaires and billionaires in all of golf X. and you're going to have free this and free and they're all going to be paid for by the rich except well everyone's going to pay for it there aren't enough rich people to pay for the things that brace sent center says that he wants I've had a number of jobs in the private sector and the people that I have worked for at least the owners of the companies I work for they have been wealthy I've never had a I've never had a job that Bernie Sanders would offer me right I I've been I I've never worked for somebody who Bernie Sanders we would be able to do anything other than extract from so he's he's demonisation of the people that are actual job creators is counterproductive in the most clear and the most the most evident ways he he simply does not care though he's going to continue with this and he also knows that he has to bow to the wokeness of the left which is suppose is unsurprising here's what he says about who is vice president for example will be played club ten your question is about a vice presidential part of the ticket all the answers we will do that at all but it's a little bit presumptuous right now I will tell you one thing though all you know is that person will not be an old white guys out I can say in all seriousness our cabinet an hour in ministration will very intentionally looks like America important all of our people see themselves reflected in the administration of the president of the United States and we will absolutely do that this from a guy who is really the oldest of white guys running for the presidency from what is I believe the widest single state in the United States but now he's Mr diversity because he thinks he has to be in the democratic primary so the media can go along with all this to look like they're not selling out whatever principles they pretend to have how's he going to pay for all this we'll figure it out I mean this is really become a common talking point left to pay for a hundred trillion dollars will come from somewhere keep in mind right now people might have to consider the possibility that we are facing because of because of manufacturing sure the manufacturing stoppages and supply chain shortages a change in global GDP as a result of corona virus that's a route that's a real concern I don't know if it will happen that's a real concern and you also have twenty three trillion dollars or so of U. S. dad already piled up there are economic ramifications are happening all the time from fat and Bernie Sanders suggesting let's just make it a hundred trillion dollars I mean he is he is walking into a a room full of flammable material and he's got a flamethrower in his hands and he's just saying what could go wrong this is really something that we all have to take very seriously I did not think of Joe Biden became president you weren't going to have a you know the massive destruction of wealth that you would have under under a Sanders presidency let's understand this by inviting would be I would have done some bad Democrats things in a wooden certainly would have been as good as trump nowhere near it but the error how each sort of go with what the corporate interests and the Democrat donor class once on some things Bernie Sanders it's not clear the corporate donor class can control him at all and it's also not clear that he even really understands the ramifications of what he says he wants to do he's claiming for example that we'll just figure out how to pay for things when we decide that we're gonna pay for play twelve mark there is there is a lot of detail here you can look for for yourselves on the website it is not matching the price tag that some put it about thirty trillion dollars for the Medicare for all transition you do have lots of different ideas in here I'm not saying you don't know how much you get about halfway there the question becomes how do you get the rest of the world there was a study for finals.

Democrats unload on front-runner Bernie Sanders in likely preview of tonight’s debate

"Of Bernie Sanders is going to be ready to take incoming from all of the candidates this comedy made on sixty minutes talking about Fidel Castro and the idea that the literacy program he started in nineteen fifty nine when castle took over absurd as Eddie Gomez you know one of the leading experts in Cuban American affairs told us our last hour Q. I have one of the highest illiteracy rates in Latin America at the time the only reason that the the change things as slightly under castor was because you want to indoctrinate the kid's into of Marxism for example when they're literally alphabet the F. stood for Fidel the C. stood for chegar no boarded Bernie miss out on this where do you miss elements in there someone who up Debbie mark mark so Powell congresswoman South Florida Democrat was criticized over this Donna Shalala democratic congressman from south Florida's criticized over this as well M. Bernie has to say the only reason they're back in the they are backing or where they're criticizing him is because they are politically motivated here was for his comments I think teaching people to read and write is a good thing and by the way all of those congresspeople that you mentioned just so happen to be supporting other candidates just accidentally knocked out yeah an instance for mark is Marxism that's of those cuties religion come on Bernie another town hall meeting mayor Pete Buttigieg's distance himself from Bernie Sanders as well as a Democrat I don't want to be explaining why our nominees is encouraging people to look on the bright side of the Castro regime when we're going into the election of our lives of course this is a good thing but why are we spotlighting the literacy programs of a brutal dictator instead of being on ambiguous in our condemnation about the way he's treated his own people that's because you fed up Bernie Sanders you know arm in arm with the day or taken from Nicaragua and he refused to call Maduro a dictator all those kinds of things tonight they're gonna put his feet to the fire about this during this debate what happens in the state of Florida Gomez told us he believes five ten percent of Cuban Americans might vote for Bernie Sanders look in the state of Florida it's always been one percent the last alarm elections right one two percent that's it that close national elections have been yeah yeah so if you wind up taking a Miami Dade County and Broward county boards they need that heavy population they need to over riding only win the Democrats do to be able to counteract the the deal to the lives of the Ford at the I. four corridor and where there are more conservative Republicans in that area you need Miami Dade and Broward county if you take the Nicaraguans in the Venezuelans in the Cubans and you save them we'd like the idea of socialism they are not going to vote for you or they're gonna stay home and you're gonna lose the state of Florida bacon if you lose the state of Florida you're in real trouble in the Democratic Party there's no question about this and that's why the hierarchy of the Democrat party going crazy right now now this thing may very well be over on March third I think it will be all fourteen states that are having of primaries on March the third have Bernie Sanders in the lead all of he wins all of those and the train is on the tracks toward the nomination but you likely won't get enough delegates to win the nomination outright it'll come down to the convention right and what happens then is the five hundred super delegates the members of Congress the former president of the United States members of the Democratic National Committee all get votes and if they take burn it away from Bernie even though he's got the plurality of delegates democratic party's done everything they might decide to do is to say will save the future of the Democratic Party but not putting a socialist in charge that's the only way they take it away from knowing they're gonna lose either way yes yeah

Strategist Steve Schmidt Discusses Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump

"Do you think that Bernie Sanders is the biggest threat to your president trump? Right now I do think so I would say that the biggest threat to president trump is president trump. What do you mean by that? Well if he's on his game as he was at the state of the Union there's a candidate in the country that can beat them if there is a second choice of than himself it would be Bernie Sanders Bernie. Sanders brings out outside game in a similar fashion. That president trump did in two thousand sixteen interesting moment there with Tim. Scott of South Carolina Senator Bernie Sanders coming off a big win in Nevada. And on Saturday we will come to what is only. Let's remember the second primary of the political season. Let's talk about the state of our politics with us. Now Steve Schmidt a veteran former Republican strategist us since left the Republican Party. But he's here with US tonight. That's all we care about. Let's take them one at a time. Let's start with the Republicans. Start WITH SENATOR. Scott's point the biggest risk to donald trump is donald trump because we just had shannon petty peace with with a straight face as a reporter. Say It's another one of these crises corona virus. That trump didn't start himself. Well Look Tim. Scott is correct. I mean the person that is always created the most powerful for Donald trump politically is is donald trump but since his acquittal by the Senate as he's purging the government of anybody he thinks is disloyal as he is taking his revenge is he is a visceral rating the rule of law in unprecedented fashion. Interfering in criminal cases the Department of Justice his poll numbers are going up and so he is consolidating power at an alarming rate in doing so liberally. Let's talk about the Democrats and as we do. I WanNa play the Clip Bernie. Sanders campaign manager. Came on with Chris Hayes earlier on this network tonight. We'll look at that one of the reasons that I love and fight for Bernie Sanders. There's integrity and honesty. You get with him and what that means is when you ask them a direct question he gives you a direct response comes from his heart from his soul. Tells you exactly what he's thinking right and that means that sometimes you may disagree with his perspective but you know he's he's shooting straight with. He's not playing a political game. So when you ask them about. Hey how about Cuba and the Castro? Oh well he's an authoritarian. He's engaged in human rights abuses however there were some good things that happened in Cuba. We should acknowledge those two. And that's an honest answer and then other people will play political games. And that's why for instance Chris. I think over the course of this campaign. We've benefited from the fact that his stray shooting his integrity. His honesty rises above other people's efforts to try to offer political barbs and try to throw cheap shots in the kitchen sink at him that were tonight and at a CNN town hall and the last hour people to judge just said in effect here. We are as a party. We're talking about Fidel Castro. Indeed and they are and you look at travesty of a debate if you're in the business of wanting to remove Donald Trump from office. The one thing that wasn't talked at all about in that debate was trump or trumpism and so the campaign managers talking about Bernie Sanders Integrity. Is he showing integrity by not releasing his medical records? Is he showing transparency and integrity by not talking about the Price Tag associated with student? Loan Forgiveness Free Pre pre K. daycare for everybody. And there's no price tags on any of this. It's a dishonest progressivism. That's NO DIFFERENT THAN DONALD. Trump's dishonesty talking about the Mexican paid for wall it's all fantasy and so when Bernie Sanders goes out there. He starts talking about well. Here's the good sides of Fidel Castro. I think it's important to understand that there might be a constituency for that in this country but it's a really small one and it's certainly not enough to get you into an electoral college majority to win the White House. And it certainly dooms your chances in Florida. How do you process the fact that tomorrow night? We're going to have seven people on stage. Two of them are billionaires. Two of them look at real double digit poll numbers knowing that money bought those poll numbers not some inner need to have them as our next president. How do we process that well? I think they're two different cases right so first off. Mike Bloomberg was the mayor of New York City for twelve years and by any objective standard. He was one of the most competent successful leaders of large government anywhere in the world over the last quarter century. He was a profoundly successful mayor. I think it's a mistake for Democrats to attack. Somebody like Mike. Bloomberg who grew up in a middle-class circumstance and is a self made man is one of the country's greatest philanthropists and I disagree with him on a number of different issues but if you are invested in progressive causes. It's hard for me to think of anybody who has done more to advance progressivism whether it's on gun issues whether it's on climate then has Mike Bloomberg so the notion that Mike Bloomberg is on that stage somehow illegitimately is not something that I really understand. Tom Steyer has been an activist in American politics. Now for some period of years he has communicated a message. He's gotten the requisite poll numbers to be on the stage. The question will be after the South Carolina primaries. If you have eight moderate Democrats all of whom might have a greater chance of beating Donald Trump and does Bernie Sanders? Will some of those candidates get out of the race to help coalesce support around the strongest? Moderate candidate? Poor the issue right now in the Democratic primaries you cannot make an objective judgement and say Bernie Sanders is going to go down to Donald Trump in the swing states on the basis of poll numbers because the poll numbers. Don't support that in those states. But when you look at Bernie Sanders positions that we should criminalize illegal immigration. That we're going to take health insurance away from one hundred fifty million people who have private health insurance a of other issues the type of rhetoric that you saw him use on sixty minutes talking about Castro. All of these issues come together. In a way that I think objectively with James Carville said is disqualifying for somebody running for president in somebody. Who'S LIKELY TO LOSE TO DONALD TRUMP and I think that's what you're saying. A lot of panic in the democratic electorate in the democratic officeholder class in these days really focused on Steve Schmidt always a pleasure. Thank you for

Inundate people like Santa Line for hours to get to go against this place cappella so good news but as always. There's there's always bad times. Civil Liberties were being whittled away as Labor. The unions lost the right to strike independent newspapers. Were shut down and religious institutions were harassed Castro removed opposition to his rule through executions and imprisonments as well as through forced emmigration though there are no exact numbers the Cuba archive estimates that tens of thousands were murdered with a documented fifty six hundred killed by firing squads alone even more Cubans were killed by state forces when they tried to flee the country which occurred during the nineteen eighty Kanamori river massacre where fifty six were assassinated by the Cuban government Vermont on July six nine hundred eighty attempting to flee Cuba. That's my day stain. The kenmare river masks on. Oh Oh also the tugboat massacre of one thousand nine hundred four. So the nineteen ninety. Four incident happened during the early morning of July thirteenth. Nineteen ninety four when a stolen tugboat. The full civilians attempted to escape the Bay of Havana. The tugboat was a state. Owned boat. Called the What's thirteen in Spanish? GSA trace okay. Thank you Marzo or the March thirteenth. That was the name of the ball at thirteenth of March. Was the name of the boat so just a few mas off the coast. The march thirteenth was rammed by four other boats that had pursued it out of the harbor. Both civilians and crew were swept off the decks by jets of water that were fired from the other boats. In once the march thirteenth had sank. The survivors weren't offered any immediate aid. So only when like a Greek boat accidentally stumbled upon the scene did Did Anybody Buddy attempt to rescue those. who were still afloat in the water? So I'd have a total of the seventy two people on board. Who are just trying to escape in this? Like old ricky tugboat at least thirty seven died including including a dozen children and being very sad. That's awful let them leave. Yeah let him believe doing you any harm cheese. During Castro's searle hundreds of thousands of Cubans fled the country generally settling just across the Florida Straits in Miami. It's the largest exodus happened in nineteen eighty when Castro open up the port of Memory L. to to allow exiled Cubans living in Miami to come claim their relatives upon their arrival. Castro also loaded the ships with Cuban prison inmates and mentally ill people oh mine sent them then back to so he was like. Oh you left your grandma. Euro Bela here. You can come and get her and then you're like okay. I love my boy. I'M GONNA go pick her backup and Havana. Then then. By the way you have to take all of these murderers yeah here you go take these murderers with you. Oh my God in all Paul. Nearly one hundred twenty thousand Cubans left their homeland in nineteen eighty alone to find sanctuary. I S holy cow. Although there's no official show Count Castro is believed to fathered at least nine children so again with his first wife he is on a fee delicto. Who actually committed suicide in February burri? Twenty eighteen after a battle with depression But Castro and his second wife Dalia Savelli had five more sons and he also had three other children from three separate women in a two thousand. Eight documentary claim that the Cuban leader slept with at least two women a day for forty years. Sometimes a third one came in after dinner so two to three women every day for forty years. Yes doesn't seem possible. He CODA use that time to work you. You know all the time you save shaving. He was actually saving that he was banking. That time. As as you banging yes a former catcher official said quote. I don't think he would have stayed on for as long as he did. If got all the incredible women he had access to as President Senate Barth. Yeah Yeah So. After the nine hundred ninety one collapse of the Soviet the Union sent Cuba's economy into a Tailspin Castro's revolution began to lose momentum out without cheap oil imports. An eager Soviet market for Cuban sugar and other goods Cuban unemployment and inflation grew the contraction of the Cuban economy resulted in eighty five percent of its markets disappearing. Oh my God they were relying heavily on the USSR. Oh my gosh show. Cashew remained adapted keeping control the government during dire economic times He pressed the US to lift their economic embargo but it refused. Like you've been a jerk shots thirty year. Yeah like I duNNo. Cash showed then adopted a quasi free market economy and encourage international investment. He also legalized the US dollar and encouraged limited tourism In in one thousand nine hundred sixty visited the United States to invite Cuban exiles living there to return to Cuba to start business. Okay okay like if people are going to be like Oh okay. They're coming coming back. Raft opened a restaurant. He's in two thousand one. After massive damage was caused to Cuba by Hurricane Michelle cash showed declined. US humanitarian aid but proposed a one time cash purchase of food from the United States. President George W Bush's administration agreed and authorized the shipment with the fuel supply running dangerously low. Castro ordered one hundred eighteen factories to be close and sent thousands of Cuban doctors to Venezuela in exchange for oil imports.

"Eleven deaths in one thousand which is one point one percent which is like pretty great. Yeah also sidebar. Are here which is still part of under good news. I guess Cashier loved ice cream. So much. Chance that during the nineteen sixties. He ordered the construction of the greatest ice cream parlor in the world. Oh Havana so he had his secretary Celia Sanchez. Help design the plans for this. They named it Cappella after that ballet about a life-size doll Covered that in episode one zero five whole closer tiny dancer so cashier had a special breed of cow developed. That could withstand the Cuban weather and he had a favorite cow named and who broke Blanca White utter utter who blanca favorite cow. So the Capella. This domed to story. Sorry I screamed. Palace was a dazzling spun. Sugar White with stained glass windows and seating for thousand what So before the revolution the Cuban people loved quote Howard. Johnson's ice cream astro told a visiting journalist. Shortly after Coppola opened referring to the then conic American brand quote. This is our way of showing. We can do everything better than the Americans. Coppola scillies is a state run ice cream parlor which to this day employs more than four hundred workers and serves four thousand two hundred fifty the US gallons of ice cream a day to about thirty five thousand customers a day so time they were like we're going to have the best ice cream in the world. They had like twenty five flavors flavors. It was super cheap. Oh come you would order like five scoops of ice cream. At a time they would call it like basically a salad like on Salata like a we kind of get yourself like five different scoop super cheap so nowadays they don't have nearly as many flavors and apparently the quality's not as good as it was when cashier was office. But but like it's still there and it's a it's a tourist spot to five thousand people at one ice cream parlor. I can't wait to hear it. Actually I don't think I've ever heard any French words with a Spanish Accent while you're here. We go great excited. Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was born on August thirteenth. Nineteen twenty six near beat on in in Cuba's eastern Oriente province. So he was the third of six children. I'm he had two brothers Rahul and Roman all of whom you may have heard and three sisters Angela Augustina. I don't know it. They're spelled like that. No I love your like Angela. uh-huh from the Chicago so his father's name was on hell. He was a wealthy sugar plantation. Asian owner who did most of his business with the American owned United Fruit Company. His mother had been a made to unhealth first wife time of Fidel's birth uh-huh scandal And by the time Fidel was fifteen. His father dissolved his first marriage with his first wife and was in married his mother at age. Seventeen Fidel was formally recognized by his father took that long for his father to be like yes. This is my son and his name was his. Last name was changed from ruse to Castro. So Fidel grew up in wealthy circumstances actually among amid the poverty of Cuba and he was educated in private Jesuit boarding schools. I'm from an early age. Castro showed he was intellectually gifted but was also a little bit of a troublemaker. I'm he was often more interested in sports than studies He attended Clay Hill the lawless in Santiago Cuba and then L. Klay. He'll the Belen in Havana where he was a pitcher for the school's baseball team and he also played basketball and ran track. I'm so how we've talked about like what if Stalin had stayed on whether man academy like what if Hitler had been accepted art school. And there's a similar legend that Castro was scouted by or tried out as a pitcher for the Washington senators in the nineteen forties Mike but was rejected. However there is no actual evidence that he ever had a tryout with Eddie American baseball so later on people tried to use this rumor to attribute Castro's anti-americanism to his bitter disappointment? Failing at a baseball tryout is that seems to be an urban legend but think about the alternate universe where Hitler was an incredible famous artists. Like ooh I haven't had had eight off Hitler in my house. I wonder how much it's worth or like the most famous weather man in Russia. Joe's Uncle Joe Stalin on and Fidel Castro. The the starting pitcher for the senators. He was so cut one. Three world series is up just turned everything around for the real real real alternate timeline. Yeah for sure crazy alternate time line just thought experiment so after Castro graduated from college. wjr Or Klay Hyo as they say in late nineteen forty five. He entered law school at the University of Vienna and he became immersed in the climate of Cuban nationalism. I'm into you. Imperialism and socialism by nineteen eighty-seven cashiered become increasingly passionate about social justice and he traveled to the Dominican Republic to join an expedition attempting to overthrow of the country's dictator Rafael Trujillo. Although the coup failed before it got started the incident still kept Castro's passion for reform alive and he traveled to Bogota Talk Columbia the following year to participate in the anti-government rioting that was their Castro also joined the Partido or tobacco an anticommunist political party founded to reform government in Cuba. It's founder Cuban presidential candidate Eduardo. Sheba's lost the nineteen forty eight election but inspired Castro to become like a big disciple of his He pledged to expose the government's corruption and warned the people about General Fu hence you'll Batista who is plotting a return to power He was the president from nineteen forty. Forty two nineteen forty four in Cuba however she bosses efforts were cut short. After his supposed- allies refused to provide evidence of government wrongdoing and in August nineteen fifty one one Sheba's who did a weekly radio broadcast. He shot himself on Air W-WHAT's trauma. Oh my God I thank God it was radio and TV so this was like Castro's like friend and his mentor. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah. So in. Nineteen forty eight years prior to two she. Boss's demise cash remarried Mutai Diaz Balart who is from a wealthy political family in Cuba. They had one child also named Fidel. They nickname him. Missile delicto meaning little Fidel in nineteen. Forty nine so the marriage showed Castro wealthier lifestyle and gave him improved political connections around the same time he developed developed interest in the work of Karl Marx. Hey and became intent on running for a seat in the Cuban Congress in March nineteen fifty to a coup led by General Full Hensel Batista successfully overthrew. The government in the upcoming election was cancelled leaving astro without a legitimate political platform and little income with which to support his family. So Batista's back in office. He set himself up as dictator and solidified his power with the military in Cuba's economic elite and the AD is government recognized by at the United States so cash oh and fellow members of the Party. To- Orthodox organized a group that they called the movement and they planned an insurrection. Oh on July twenty six nineteen fifty-three Castro and about one hundred fifty. Supporters attacked the Moncada military barracks outside of Saint Jago to Cuba in an attempt to overthrow. Throw Batista the attack failed and Casher was captured and tried and convicted and sentenced to fifteen years in prison and his brother Rahul was also among those imprison but while incarcerated Castro got his group together he renamed his group the Twenty Sixth of July movement and they continued to coordinate their activities through correspondence respondents in while in prison he and his fellow prisoners were ultimately released in nineteen fifty five under an amnesty deal with the Batista government and he traveled with reinhold Mexico where they continued can you to plan the revolution around the time his wife Michelle left him and like jetted the hell out of there and went to Spain. What about feed the League? I think they left there was still in Cuba assuming fidel had some family members they pro but his wife she empty right off so cashiers in Mexico. He met with other Cuban exiles as well as the Argentinian rebel Ernest Stowe Che Guevara. Hey who believed that. The plate of Latin America's poor could be fixed only through violent revolution curly so Guevarra join castres group and became an important confidante and helped to shape Castro's astros political beliefs on December second nineteen fifty-six. Castro returned to Cuba aboard the boat. Granma I'm sorry. Yeah like Alah Ella. Grandma Grandma G. R. A. N. M. A. is the name of the boat. They run He had about eighty insurgents with them and they had a bunch of weapons and they were near. The eastern city have Manzanillo Batista's forces this who they were attacking Batista's forces killed or captured most of their attackers but Castro as well as his brother Rahul who CHECA Vara and a handful of others were able to escape into the Sierra May Straw mountain range along the island's southern coast so over the next two years Castro's steadily readily growing forces waged a guerrilla war against the Batista Government. My God so they were pouring out of the mountainous jungle. Yeah like yeah attacking their guys. They're on the grandma. They tact group but teases group killed most of them and and then the guys that live like hidden in the woods and manage to like gather support because they were like this was bad where yeah so they so so they basically spend the next two years like growing forces and they organized resistance groups in cities and small towns across Cuba. Cashew was also able to organize is apparently well government. He's able to carry out agrarian reform and controlled provinces with agricultural and manufactured production. While hiding out. So it's kind of like the Cosa Nostra like he was kind of running like a parallel like system. Like a protectorate system in a way Hey So enough people didn't like Batista then they were like well. The guy in the woods is while we've got some good ideas. The guy in the woods has some great ideas so beginning in Nineteen fifty-eight Castro. His forces mounted a series of successful military campaigns to capture and hold key areas throughout Cuba. I'm so combined. With a loss of popular support and massive desertions in his military Batista's government finally collapsed. Under Castro's efforts in January nineteen fifty nine Batista himself fled to the Dominican Republic. So at the age of thirty two. What Astra successfully concluded his guerrilla campaign to take control of Cuba man? What have I been been doing? It really makes you so. According to Encyclopedia Britannica cash was celebrated as a hero for toppling Batista's authoritarian Tehran regime. Okay Yeah Ed Sullivan. The host of America's. TV's most popular really big variety. She flew to Cuba to tape an interview with Castro on January Eleventh Nineteen fifty-nine where surrounded by about one hundred armed men Ed Sullivan talked with Castro. whom he likened to George Washington he called cash show a fine young man which were the same adjectives he also had used to describe Elvis Presley And later that day in Havana Castro taped an appearance for the team. News program face the nation and he also talked with a few other famous. Talk show host and newscaster so Castro. who had yet to declare himself a Marxist said that he thought the American people were quote? Nice Oh oh thanks so he he did all the stuff and he kinda authoritarian regime and everyone was like great job may are young guy. Hi Great Job. Oh boy so here we go. Provisional government was quickly created then with Manuel Unwell installed as president and Jose Meteo Cardona as prime minister and that quickly gained the recognition of the United States and cash show himself arrived in Havana to cheering. Crowds and assume the post of commander in chief of the military in February nineteen fifty-nine mirrow suddenly resigned and Castro was then sworn in as Cuba's Cuba's prime minister and meanwhile hundreds of members of Batista's government were tried and executed so Castro implemented far reaching reforms by nationalizing factories and plantations -tations in an attempt to end. US economic dominance on the island among these reforms it was announced that the new government would based compensation to foreign companies on low property values that the companies. He's had negotiated with the previous Cuban governments in order to keep their taxes low so basically like the American factories came in there. Like what super cheap to build here. So they said well. You're not going to actually make a lot of money off of that because you bought that property for super cheap like trying to trick us. So American companies ended up feeling the negative effects of these measures ocean that led to a significant strain in relations between Cuba and the US. During this time Castro repeatedly denied being a communist but too many Americans has policies closely resembled the Soviet style control of both the economy and government in April nineteen fifty-nine Castro and a delegation visited the US as guests of the National Press Club Cash show hired a public relations firm to help promote his tour but at the time president. Dwight Eisenhower refused. He used a meeting with him in. May that year cash assigned the First Agrarian Reform Act which limited the size of land holdings and forbade foreign property ownership. Oh so even if you have if you were a foreign Foreign country that owned property on Cuba like nope not anymore. Wow yes yeah. So on that surface the intent was to develop a class of independent farmers but in reality that program led to St Louis in control with farmers becoming government. Employees sure. Yeah Yeah and by the end of Nineteen fifty-nine Castro's revolution had become radicalized with purges of military and government leaders including the president who Toria and the suppression of medical of any media. Critical of Castro's policies his government also began establishing relations with the Soviet the Union horse the. US are sent more than one hundred Spanish. Speaking advisors to help organize Cuba's defense committee.

"We're not here today. We gotta go to Fidel and so we woke walked into Fidel and I don't know. There were definitely people that didn't go with us and there were a lot, but we rolled into Fidel at about seven thirty with about sixty to seventy people. And you should like. Ace air. They were like, they just looked at us and one of the guys on our board had new their management well, and he's like, we're really sorry. But this is what happened there like Amman, no problem. At least they really accommodating. Yeah, they were. They were actually really great us and I can't thank them enough because they kind of serve as our interim home for a while while we were homeless for a little bit. Yeah. And so we lost SE. We were wandering much like our team currently is get to that. We'll get to that. Yeah, but yeah, so we were there and so we kind of launched a search for a new home bar in eventually wound up here founding fathers. Yeah. So I gotta say, this is my first time at founding fathers and nice one guys. This is a really nice bar. This is like the cleaned is looks very modern and like lots of TVs like, that's, that's my big. My first thing I, I will not miss a game or miss any part of the action when I'm here. Yeah, there they have been fantastic. I Greg and all of his staff here Greg's the general manager. They've been. Fantastic with us. You know when we when we first approached them about coming here, they were really open. To listening to us and what we were looking for, what we wanted in an in a home bar, and they are really honest with us about what they could and couldn't do when they wanted to kind of work on, let's say, build their relationship between the club and the bar and. They've just been fantastic since we've been here. You know, we the, like you said, the places is always clean when we walk in God. Yeah, it's, you know. Got great light big windows in the front that opened up once the weather's warmer atmosphere does seem just like when I walked out of my, yes, I could see myself coming here, not in any arsenal like attire, but like just coming here like not doing game day. My friends would be like, 'cause I live right here in point breeze like, so I'm not that far away, but let's go to founding fathers. It's on you like a boost cruise down south street. Yeah, no, absolutely. And, and you know, they've got a great lineup of beers. They've got a good food when the kitchens open, you know, it's, it was really the total package. And when we were looking for and like you said, if you've not been here before for for a sporting event, this has got to be like the highest ratio of televisions to to space and super, that's in the city at a sports bar. In my opinion, you know, it's just everywhere you look is a television with stuff on. And when we've got our games, it's just us on the TV, which is really nice. So, yeah, it's basically everything that's playing. We did. We did run into a couple of, I won't even call it hiccups because nothing kind of overlap, but are I..

"Staff he often the film with the announcement of fidel steph uh what was a response and cuba at the time i think fidel uh for good or for bad affected every single cuban he was the most impactful person on their lives except maybe you uh for their parents at the turn out in the streets so the millions of people that line the rude as the ashes travelled across the country i think was a genuine outpouring feeling for free dow and who knows what's going to happen next raul scheduled to leave in march uh he term limited himself in sowa but he's also been suffering from poor health similar to his brother not as bad as feet up what was rewarded fidel suffer from uh fidel had some type of intestinal problems that i don't think they've ever particularly talked about it when i saw fidel die he certainly had memories about me and we talk for a long time but he was not physically strong a we see all these spots on his face uh he denied year old man by got lots of things on my face that i didn't have what i first met you will blatty think some people were remain very loyal to him and other saw him as a cruel dictator i i guess is not uncommon uh there are people who remember stalin with grateful ronda so there are a people probably pretty much remember when the shah of iran with great fondness and then others who hated them uh i i think that everybody reacts of based on their own personal experience so um i think that one thing that's interesting is that i've had people who have exiled themselves from cuba people who were in jail in cuba people who have been lifelong supporters of feed owl i think they've watched the film femme things in it that they like found things in the didn't like but they were all very thankful that we made the film and they think it's a a pretty honest rendering of what's gone on a cuban during the past fifty years what legitimate include your own family us into this project uh my poor family was dragged into this from the very very beginning god the initial cam work in the film was done by by my wife keiko who was a much better cameraman than me um i was donna cuba so much that i.
