"Of stay yes say florida nurse has been fired for posting photos on social media and cruelly mocking a newborn. Have you ever seen a newborn. They are ugly fucking purple covered in blood. Looking like an old man like shitting out a giant pale raisin it is vile bonus in this case the baby was born with a birth defects so this nurse is most assuredly going to hell the firing kind of make sense now. Actually sierra samuels. A neonatal intensive care nurse at jackson memorial hospital over there in miami was fired thursday following an investigation that began early last month after two photos of newborn with an abdominal wall. Birth defects were post Posted to our instagram account. See i kind of think she's less of a bitch now. I don't know when you make fun of someone's face. 'cause i like a cleft palate or i'll mangle or missing an eye or something like that's kinda cruel like if asshole all like turned inside out so you're red sox coming out that's gross. That's where that's notable that. I would look at that differently than if this woman was just making fun of an ugly baby. You know what i mean in this case. It's just a baby's body part that is like we're not. It's face stare at all the time but like some that's going on and it's like stomach area. The some sort of abdominal wall birth defect she wrote my night was going great and then boom and then that's the the caption to the picture that showed a baby taken inside of the hospitals. Newborn intensive care unit. Second photo posted by samuels. Showed the newborn again and had a hashtag citing the child's birth defect gas strodes. Geis's that's i don't know it's where a baby's intestines are found outside of the body. See that it's fucking freaky. That is weird. Yes it would be like if you saw that baby in real life. Your friend just had this baby you go you go in and visit her. And she's like look at my baby this little chunky and you see it's intestines falling out of its body. Would you say something or would you pretend it's normal at the very least you would question. He'd be like why innards coming out like that. I know it may not be the most polite thing to say but maybe the mom is all like hopped up on drugs. She's woozy from giving birth and she missed the fact the baby is wearing it's intestines as a scarf again. I just feel like it's different than if the baby's face was all messed up. Plus you know that this birth defect is fixable. There's no way the baby's going to go home with its intestines outside of its body. They're gonna stuff it back in so it was like a temporary birth defect. It's not like a brian pepper situation. You know eyes are bulging out for the rest of his. Life is a deep cut. Brian peppers who remembers brian peppers do a search for him. All right. yes the second photo. Posted by samuel showed the newborn again and had a hashtag citing the child's birth defect. I'm so yeah. The baby's intestines were found on the outside of the body exiting through a whole beside the belly. Button quote your intestines supposed to be inside not outside. Baby samuels sickening post read. It's not even that offensive. It's just like staving be up. His samuels posted several other photos of herself on the job was placed on administrative leave last month after the photos surfaced. Hospitals officials cited patient privacy as a top priority. Okay well that kind of explains why. She was fired while saying the blatant breach would be investigated employees. Who violate these. Privacy rolls despite being educated are subject to disciplinary actions including suspension or termination. According to the hospital officials and attorney last month said that samuels not only the newborns privacy but violated hippo quote with images. You have a certain expectation of privacy. That if you're in an area that you're in an area that you believe to be private and in this case a hospital even more. So i feel like i didn't read that line properly but it was very confusing. What with images. You have a certain expectation of privacy that if you're in an area that you're in an area that you believed to be i think maybe they just wrote the same thing over again twice a certain expectation of privacy that if you're in an area that you believe me private yeah. They did an extra in an area in this case. Fuck ever you know what i'm talking about. Good fucking crave new stories making me look like a goddamn idiot. I don't need any help from you. All right the child's mother has been notified of the privacy breach. Samuels instagram profile. Which is now marked as private identifies her as a mommy and a dry cereal consumer and up bipolar lover has more than six hundred followers. Quite the influence sir. I've got more instagram followers than her. That's fetig second-story we have for you. Today be mcdonald's customer who called in a bomb threat to an iowa restaurant because he didn't receive dipping sauces with his thirty piece nuggets. You know what that is kind of outrageous. You may have read the story. Initially this is an update. But i don't know. I don't recall reading that. He ordered a thirty piece. Of course you're going to need dipping sauce for a thirty piece chicken. Who the hell is eating thirty piece. Chicken nuggets dry or piece. Ten piece. i. I understand. Maybe your eating aside. You don't wanna dip. That's fine but thirty thirty. You need something.

"As you know have had such a kind of checkered. History of great works so called coming at the expense of populations. And i wonder if you know as you engage with these increasingly societal challenges. If we're equipped as a profession to address these will never be fully equipped. I guess i would say. My harshest critiques. For landscape architecture would be that we toil endlessly to make pictorial images of gardens that required incredible amounts of invisible labor and tried to make them look effortless. And we've done that in our practices in an art. We awarded those projects. We've also you know whether it's in our diagrams which don't include a kind of sense of you know who that humanity i keep like with a toured urban ecology book i was like i want humanity on every page and it's like a broad critique but you know even on the cover was like here's what i you know. It was sort of in every spread and ensure that was like different approach. Rate was like okay. Let's take this higher photographer to take ten pictures of this. One project was like. I just want to humanity to jump off the beijing. And so that assertive where. I've tried to take things and and then of course using these tools. Which are you know tools. But frankly get people excited about their ability to participate lake. If you spend ten years and you know thousands of labor hours working in jades to make them look sort of pristine like a natural glenn. That has always been there. I applaud that. But i also feel like that reads the people who we need to engage in the climate crisis now out and there's no way to either besides this kind of fetig of beano awe or wonder i'm trying to push a different which is how do i work. What do i do. How do i get in that landscape. So it is the tools that we've tried to to put forward are the tools of revealing the living things in landscape to you as you move through them safari seven which was like i can't remember. That was maybe two thousand and Seven that was an early early early days with ginette cannon..

"Words. Welcome back clay travis. Inbox sexton show there. You just heard a number of republicans on capitol hill calling for the secretary of state antony blinken to resign and guess what he is. Not going i would. I would be very comfortable putting a bet that he will not resign. Although you know who you never know. But i think it's very very unlikely. This is all about holding the democrats accountable holding the biden administration accountable for the chaotic and to call it. Poorly planned is a gross understatement. Withdrawal plan from afghanistan but all blinken asadollah. And i remember this. Remember all that all the talk. All the members of congress with benghazi open and i said at the time as soon as obama won reelection clay the idea of accountability for the debacle of benghazi in which four americans lost lost their lives. Any real accountability was gone. And here if you want accountability you have to go out and take power from these people in the midterm elections. Because they're not going to hold themselves accountable. Thirteen americans died in the midst of a chaotic withdraw. American service members in the midst of a chaotic withdrawal. Plan hit by suicide bombing. No one has lost their job over that to this day. Except what was it a lieutenant colonel. Who spoke out against the ineptitude of the senior leadership play. That's what accountability under democrat administration. Looks like speak the truth and you get fired. Otherwise you're part of the team you keep your job. Maybe you get a nice book deal. Yeah and this is why. I think sending messages in california can matter right. Because how do you register your disapproval. How do you fire back in a big way right now. That's the question we get. I bet balk more than any other from our listeners. I got that question again. Whenever i'm out and about i got it a ton from people in arkansas and be down in florida this weekend. How do we get back to normal. I think it's one by living your life. Normally it sounds simple but by embracing normalcy in your own life fighting for normalcy fighting for the things that would have seen very similar and simple and not outlandish before march of twenty twenty. And one of those things is. If you're listening to us right now in california it's not only removing gavin newsom. That counts as a win. It's registering i think. A massive increase in disapproval for his policies. Right what trouble lost in california by around thirty points buck. We got six million votes. Joe biden allegedly got eleven million votes. Okay six thirty point deficit. Imagine if we got it down as the republican party did to ten or twelve points. If it's a close election for california's sake. I didn't get why people are getting really nervous. And by the way Dub who is one of our producers on the show texted me that a european off-shores wear our european books where you can bet on politics. You can't legally bet on politics in america right now really that it's ten to one basically that that new some would lose and be removed from office. That's up was in sixteen. I mean not not a lot of difference in terms of what odds you could have gotten on trump being elected in sixteen. It's so fascinating. Donald trump is not. Running for office is not in office. I mean as a now. He's not running right. We don't know but he is not an american politics. And yet the go-to move just to give you just to give her a sense of how indoctrinated and how clearly true believers in the leftist orthodoxy. Californians democrat californians. Are all they have to do is bring up. The specter of trump somehow tie larry elder to donald trump as if these are guys with similar stories similar backgrounds but yeah they have some similar ideas but why is he the the the second coming of trump whatever will because it gets all the lips scared. They're going to go out and vote against this but notice. There's not actually any argument to be made that gavin newsom or for that matter. The democrat party of the state of california is good at their jobs is making it a better place to lisbon. Handles anything with its trump is scary. Vote against trump. i mean larry elder. It's pathetic fetig. But this is what that states at apollo political level has been reduced. Clay both know. California is as a geographic landmass. Basically paradise i mean you've got the coast and the mountains and ryan yards and i mean just the american dream you go back to the nineteen ninety s ever want to live in la. It was like. Oh my gosh. One of my buddies. And i had this debate. Imagine that we settled the country west to east. No-one live in the northeast. Right like if we'd started west first of all people like why don't we wanna leave here. You know like we're basically living in the garden of eden if you were in southern california if we had started to settle the country from e from west to east but it is pretty fascinating. By the time we got to the east coast like. I don't think there would have been any massive people who are like you know we have to live boston. We have to live new york now. Obviously i'm sorry under the bus from under the bus boston compared to la purely from geography. I mean it makes sense when you think about it when you wanna be close to get back to europe but if you think about it from the west to east california is an denic cannot pronounce that word correctly eden like paradise and they're ruining and it's been ruined it's being ruined by libs. We can all see it. We all know what's going on there. Psycho environmentalism their social justice progressive. Obsession all and just a hypocrisy to delete. Don't live they live in blinded cardi's they live in la r- while they pretend to care so much about everybody else. You know the poor. What we got. Dr marty mccarey joining us here in a few minutes. Talk about his wall street journal op-ed and why is it. The cdc just doesn't want to actually even have data.

I cringe a little bit. But i am embracing aging. I feel better. I feel more confident in know how to carry myself in this body which. I don't think i did very well when i was younger. Not dyeing my hair. I'm not thinking about what else. Who else i wanna look like. I can look at my crows feet and think that's years of smiling or my belly and say wow awesome. Daughters came from me as i look at myself in the nearer. I no longer look at the old lady with bumps and bruises and wrinkles and saggy arms. I now see the very fortunate older woman who has had a blessed life with amazing memories etched across my body my face and my soul despite. He's been with me for seventy one years. We've had a few bumps in the road but it has never let me down. I guess this would be a good time to say. Thank you bobby. You're listening to the pulse. I'm mike and scott. You can subscribe to our show wherever you get your part. We're talking about changing appearances. Many people look first surgical interventions to stop the signs of aging war to change something about themselves. They don't like women account for the vast majority of cosmetic surgery business but research shows men are increasingly getting in on this to reporter. Liz tongue looked into this a few years ago. Cool are the guys driving up. Plastic surgery statistics to find out. I visited a plastic surgeon named brandon clearer. We'll come on in near drumming. Brennan runs zone practice in media pennsylvania. It's a well-heeled suburb. Near philadelphia can be injecting botox here. That's very comfortable chair. And he says he's definitely noticed growing interest among men. This trend has been going on for more than four years And it's just growing brennan says about fifteen to twenty percent of his patients. These days are male. they are fathers. They are business owners. They are successful professionals. Somebody that is very comfortable with themselves but feels that there's this one little area they'd like to just tweak others coming on the heels of a major life change for instance a guy in his sixties or seventies who may be a widower and looking to really get back into the dating world but they look at themselves and they say i see some things about me that don't match how young i feel inside brennan. Does somebody work liposuction. Breast reduction stuff like that. But he says most of his male patients are focused on their faces. Certainly one of the leading procedures. We do as face-lifts. He's a lot of male patients. Also come in to get rid of double chins otherwise known as turkey. Waddles and for bluff rope lassie's a procedure lifts droopy eyelids and it can really make you look like you've just had your best night's sleep brain aziz not sure what's driving this growth in men getting plastic surgery. There aren't any studies on it yet. At least none that we could find but he has a few ideas and is number one suspect smartphones effectively. People walking around with a mirror at arm's length all the time a mirror that can take pictures and post them instantly social media. There are many many more photographs being taken in shared. Immediately patients will come in and say i. I hate being in these photographs because my neck look so bad. Another big reason brandon things. More men are getting cosmetic procedures done. Is that people are living longer. Which means they need to work longer to. They are not ready for retirement but people are starting to ask them and say you know when you retiring and so they come to us saying i really want to be able to project that youthful persona a sense of dynamism sense vibrancy. So what do brandon's patients say about their reasons for going under the knife i decided to ask one. Bill stroke our. He's a weight loss physician weight loss and weight control. We see the cheaters you know angels and martyrs don't need to be here as you can probably tell. Bill is kind of quirky guy. He's thin with glasses cleft chin and strawberry blonde hair but a couple of years ago when bill looked in the mirror. He didn't see any of that instead he saw this. This is year turkey neck. I guess and You know i get rid of it. It was about to turn seventy and feeling depressed It's hard to say the age for him. Getting older means the end of things. There's nothing really to expect. Usually end up checking the obituary pages. That's about it. So bill decided to take some measures and ahead of his birthday. He decided to cheer himself up. With a face-lift. I figured i'm not have to look in the mirror every morning. And if it's gonna make me happier and more motivated to do things than i will a year and a half later. His face still looks pretty good relatively smooth and no flabby skin hanging under his chin. But when i asked if he satisfied bill says i guess. When you're looking into mirrors yourself all the time you know you go The is starting to come back. And i you know my losing weight. Well what's going on the other thing. Bill worried about at least at the time was what people would think. Guys don't do that. Bob la remember. Bill is seventy. He grew up in the era of rugged. Tough guys men. Who didn't talk about their feelings. Much less what they look. Blake guys with a stiff-upper-lip guys like to do. What he thinks is best. John wayne you know be tough and rugged who cares what you look like. That's fred fetig. He's a former president of the american academy of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. And someone who's thought a lot about the factors that encourage and discourage men from getting plastic surgery. There has been a stigma where men are socialized differently. Men are i think more private about their looks. But fred says that may be changing. Men may be starting to feel a bit more comfortable being uncomfortable about the way. They look for the pulse. I'm liz tongue. We're talking about changing appearances many times. It's an illness or an accident. That permanently altered.

"Yeah i I i kind of walked into this thinking. I been familiar with a couple of. I made songs just through honestly through rock band since like guitar. Hero type game and I never went into them right but like a recognized causing listened to them and metallica and some other like eighties hairband like metal. Rock heavy rock bands and You know like like oh. This is the album. We're listening to is searching on spotify. I see the cover art and it looks kinda his kinda hysterical Definitely like comic book esque does not provoke strikes in may at all but but i know this is like a rock just listening to the first song i'm like no i'm getting myself into like hard rock here but everything i read up did a little bit of agreement before it got into it was like this is a heavy metal album so my my head like a appre prejudice like we expected this to be like. Yeah i was already kind of thinking like this is definitely not going to be for me. I'm not a heavy like heavy metal guy scream. Oh guy While i can tolerate tolerated. And i do love heaven utah at times. I'm just not into the metal. That's like sounds like an airplane. Just going down a runway and just never taking off shadow to my man. Keith richards Yeah like it just doesn't seem like that. That's i just expected this to be like that Not palatable to me. And i was surprised at how much it was not that So yeah. I'm not sure if i answered your question you always do even when you don't ask I think bias is something so important to analyze before we dive deeper into the themes. The story the lyrics vocal performance even instrumentation because that bias can very frequently like just put up a wall and that wall can be really comforting it. Can you know this is my define space. And i don't really go outside of it But we had to face that bias jumping into this iron maiden album. And i definitely had the bias to like. I had a roommate in college. And this dude loved screama music like alexis on fire like just very purina g- worse worse than a punk vocalist. Like it was just annoying in and actually. When i was thinking of which album. I wanted us to listen to actually was going to go with. Acdc's black. on black. But i listened to three songs of that album. And i was like i can't do it like there's no way this is just to scream. Oh this is like such heavy metal that it would just be an uncomfortable experience. So one thing that i did think. Listen to the first song album before i selected it was. Oh my god this kind. Of reminding how i felt listening to the first song off of king crimson album twenty percent schizoid man. Y'all go back and listen to that first track off of that album. You can play that you can insert that song in this album and it would generally fit in that same fetig so it was more palatable to me than at acdc type of album but my bias was definitely in the range of like man. This is gonna be hard. This is going to be heavy and this is.

"I had to learn anyway because i didn't have the money to hire anyone the first two years of mine saudi. It was zero employees company. And so you have to learn the business. There's not as hard as people think. In fact you can still a lot of the stuff and the april grams. I mean they will really deep also super expensive. You can still a lot of that stuff into a couple of powerful but you can learn in a matter of hours in month to that can accelerate your odds of success bats indefinitely. You got started. That's how i got started at one hundred percent it was out of necessity and i wanna say this too because i remember when i was starting my coaching business. First of all. I was so insecure. I was terrified. I was so young. And i just felt like a fraud. Right as the hell's gonna listen to me who should give me their money like. I'm no good. So i had all of those fears and doubts that most of us have more starting out but similarly. I didn't have the money to have anyone else. Be able to do my marketing so i had out if it was going to survive and i want to underscore something you said mission. It's not rocket science. It's actually so much easier than people think. Probably why i get so passionate about. School is because people don't wanna be pushy. They don't wanna be aggressive. They don't wanna come across like used car salesman. They don't wanna feel like they're force people to do anything because they have big hearts and they have huge integrity and ethics. And i was like wait. I have to tell you so much of the stuff that you see out there about extracting as much as possible and you know like yellow highlighter forcing people i was like there's a whole other way that's aligned with your heart and your values and your creativity and the best of who you are as a human your ability to be compassionate number. Fetig listening comes into still creativity generosity transparency. All of that. That's the ingredients for super powerful. High converting marketing. If you know how to do it right. And so that's where. I not passionate about teaching people about how to do this themselves even if they build teams like. You have an incredible team. I have an incredible now but as an educated business owner. I'm no how to hire people who get it. Had a higher road. They're doing so. It's like in the beginning stages and you may also always wanna do it yourself. i also do tons of my own marketing. Because i love it. It's a of avenue to make a difference but for anyone who's speaking of starting rolling a business it's like like you need these fundamentals because no matter how technology changes. I'm curious if you'll agree with us whether it's ticked off or instagram or any other form if you don't understand messing if you don't understand consumer psychology if you don't understand how to create irresistible offers all of the deep stuff that doesn't change it doesn't matter about algorithms spray and all that stuff is irrelevant if you don't have the foundation but once you have the foundation no matter how technology changes over time you can try exactly so. I'm seeing someone post on the chad mine. Belly has an amazing digital marketing team. Yeah we have a digital marketing team comprising eight people. But you know how we started. We started with me. Buying a book on copywriting and figuring out how to write copy and then months later after i figured out the basics of writing some copy on a website buying a book on email marketing and figuring out how to use an autoresponder and by email so when the business owners stocks and invest in your growth. You start layering on all of these advantages. Guess what you're never gonna stop growing but if you take that approach your business will never stop growing number yet. Luckily to break. I want to add some context yes. Marie went on to stop a system called b. school. It's an online program marie. How long isn't it six weeks long but there are other jillian. It's like an enormous library of masterclasses that you get because lobby How many hours over six weeks. Let's see each week. So every single module is anywhere between like. I take two hours to four hours in. And there's a lot of fun sheets and the funds where the content consta- life. And i just want to give this contacts for people for someone who's just starting out in everything is brand new. It's going to take them a little bit longer to do the fun sheets. Because there's that learning curve for more familiar but they need to refine and deepen the fundamentals because they've been distracted on too many other things. They may be able to go a lot faster so quickly. So what marie did was. She took everything she learned and because she's such a dynamic teacher rather than you have to figure everything out yourself. She simplifies the process for you. In the six week program called school and this is the one that has become one of the biggest online programs in the world's sixty six thousand students from six hundred fifty industries under them. Sixty increase will check out my team posted links and you will see the shore amount of case studies. I believe in though guys. If you appreciate mine valley for bringing marie on if you enrolled in school from our link we get a small gilliat credit. We appreciate that but you don't have to do that. You can go directly to review dot com now. Marie i want you to break it down for us. Like what are the key things that one needs to master to build an effective business like what are the topics. What chapters absolutely so. The first thing that we do when we dive into strongly is called profit clarity. That's module number one. That's identifying who is your ideal customer or client and i highlight ideal with flashing lights because so many business owners. They're big hearted. They wanna make a difference to everyone. And that's understandable but it's not wise and so we've really teach you how to identify who is going to really be the best match for your financial goals for your impact goals and also for the sweet spot of who you are as an individual what you bring to the table your style right so we want to have that meshing of who you can best serve. Who's going to be the most.

Like when you're just like yeah if you're not getting like the bag you'll just kinda like your failure but i think as close a lot of the time we don't think about the fact that those people that are making the that age and like they in this season where they're prospering. Achieving are very very small fraction. It's a very small amount of people but because these are the people that were seeing every single day you start thinking oh crap it's everyone. Yeah but it's not. It's not that's the problem with social media. I saw really beautiful salmon. I think it was yesterday actually What's his name. His name is steven fetig and he was talking about like Salmon me like it was like a whole. I like it was it was a concession in his church. Oh okay onto salmon here and he was talking about how a lot of the time we place pressure on our lives to be a certain place and sometimes like speaking from on spa from my perspective. 'cause i'm christian like sometimes god will let you go through that situation but it's not even supposed to be where where you're like. You're kind of gone off his part. And you're saying i need by twenty five on need to do this. I'm in a relationship now. I'm happy but he doesn't. she went. She gives you a purpose until at five years later Because you're so hell bent on. I twenty five. I have to be married or twenty five. Have to do this because sokhom you do me. I'm still working on your plan. I'm still working on the path that list. And i think we need to stop doing that. Someone that i was watching now saying what's that When When you make plans god loves yeah legit. It's true i. It's not your life like that. You have to trust in person. Yeah that's the issue with social media it. Is we compare trust. Yes if they go to someone gets it at twenty three then you block out the twenty-three depression and how will these issues life crisis picking themselves apart mr and it is very sad like it is really really sad like if there's anything that out like like like my younger cousins who my sisters to like be able to learn from me is that you're where you're supposed to be at what you're doing right now is enough if you're working hard and you have ambitions you just have to push for yes. Some people might get before you but it doesn't mean that what the work you're putting in isn't isn't going to be lack. Effective people sometimes get hell bent on the destination and not degen. "Katie benner has just labeled trump supporters. Not trump is writ large half the country at least enemies of the state quote. Today's january sixth. Select committee underscores. The america's current the americas is new york times. People aren't hiring their best anymore. The america's current essential dilemma national security dilemma work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling ah politicians supporters enemies of the state katie benner by the way covers for the times the justice department as americans. We believe that state power should not be used to work against a political political figure or political party by. And there it is. There's that but it's going to negate what she just said by. What happens if a politician seems to threaten the state if the politician continues to do so out of office and his entire party supports a threat. Well what happens is you're going to if you can disingenuously but nevertheless you can label your political opponents half the country enemies of the state then you can more easily justify weaponising the full force of the federal government against those people including the nsa which has a foreign service mission and yet was just caught spying on tucker carlson a domestic very very popular. I guess you'd call them political dissident because he opposes the liberal regime but it's very as mainstream as they get he's got the highest rated show on cable news and yet the nsa which is only supposed to be looking at threats outside of the country spying on him the fbi going after don donald trump's campaign in two thousand sixteen a democratic party using the fbi as its enforcement arm to spy on the political opponents. That's that's pretty scary. The jailing of political business. I mean even if you look at the the way that the january sixth people are being treated compared to be on the january. Six people relatively wrote very little damage. Didn't kill people. The only person who died in political violence on that day was was one of the trump supporters and yet they get the book thrown at them and they gonna rotten prison meanwhile burns down federal courthouses and kills a bunch of people and they get off the hook. Broadly off the hook that is because the people are considered good useful. Soldiers for the liberal establishment and the trump supporters are enemies of the state and we treat enemies of the state differently than we would treat soldiers for the establishment speaking of enemies of the state. The you know that insufferable cop officer done the one who said he was called all sorts of terrible names on the basis of race. He had no evidence of this whatsoever. Cameras all over the place that days zillions of hours of video but no never found any evidence of the dubious events he's describing so officer done has something to say about enemies of the state. He says that the people at the capital the people who stole pelosi's lectern or much much worse than the b. l. m. rioters burned the country down. First amendment protests. Is what this country is about the first amendment the constitution as the democracy of it. But once you start attacking people attacking things. Then that's wrong. You know what that goes to the riots. This summer they were wrong. If you peacefully protest sure but the riots and the violence and the demi this summer wrong wrong. And that's the exact same thing that happened at the capital but their goal was to overthrow democracy which is a bigger threat to america while big of you to say that that killing dozens of people and burning down businesses and homes and courthouses. Do big of you to say that that's wrong. Hey look i'm a reasonable guy. Okay i think killing dozens of people as wrong. Thanks thanks man okay. I'm glad we can at least agree on that. But that's the exact same thing that happened to the capital. No it's not no it's not. They're not even close burning down city after city after city killing person after person after person burning down police station after police station after federal courthouse stealing property after property after property and threatening to do it again with the explicit support of of members of the democrat congress and senate and the sitting vice president. Now that is not the same as making a mess of nancy pelosi desk. It's not it's not even close. They're completely incomparable. Events and yet we're we're having to not only is he saying they're the same he's actually he's actually then later saying what happened at. The capitol is worse because they want to overthrow democracy burning down courthouse. That's federal gordon. That's not overthrowing. Democracy burning down the symbol of the justice system. That's that's not overthrowing democracy but jumping up and down with a horn hat on that is pathetic the fetig so what are we going to do about it. We're just gonna complain right. That's what we're gonna do. I think the only people who are who are doing their job in this entire fiasco and i hate to toot my own horn. But it's those of us on the communicator side of it. It's those of us in the conservative media. It's those i'm not saying. Look i think it'd be much better. If legislators rashy taking action or judges we're taking action people with real hard political power. We're taking action. But all all we can do if you have a microphone. All you can do is call attention to this stuff that the mainstream media won't talk about all you can do is call attention to not only what's happening in the news but what that what that relates to from a philosophical perspective from an historical perspective. You can provide context. You can lay out the plan of what to do. But if you're not sitting in congress if you're not sitting in the senate if you're not a legislator if you're not in the bureaucracy not a judge then you don't have that hard political power to do something so do something do something guys thankfully..

Yeah and then they blew him out, I couldn't believe it. Syracuse. Let me down I like I said, I hit that Tulane Lane win and the South Alabama points I hit the game now let's. Let's talk about what did you think of the Florida state debacle up ten thing you've got this guy nor valid halftime keeping his players on the field and doing some pathetic raw raw speech in front of the cameras he knew he was on camera that drone flying overhead. I thought that was so cheesy and then they went to the locker and what they do play chess. I don't understand what happened to that for in the second half I. Mean You talk about Fetig? They're back to their losing ways. Again, how do you lead ten nothing in your opener with a new coach in Valencia you're winning it doe. Campbell, and then you laid that egg. Yeah. You know that's been the Mo for Florida state. Now, four straight opening season losses I mean since nineteen seventy six, I believe is the first time that it happened but bobby bounce first year. But just to give you an idea, this team can run the football still one, hundred, nine rushing yards against Georgia tech offense align line is still a concern there. Were working progress from an offensive scheme perspective. They're not gonNA blow people out and I'll tell you this. If they drop another game along the way, expect his team to quit much the way they did a couple years ago. Those defensive players in stores Sean Day Samuel More than Wilson they're gonNA, start to just keep in the way they did against. A couple years ago, and and that's the problem. The culture is not where it was even at the end of where Jimbo Fisher was and that's where my more leads to turn it around. They got the on both sides of the ball interior. Defense Lines until they fixed that this is possibly another five, hundred, eighteen for twenty twenty. So. This week. There's games like I. Don't know if you saw that Campbell Georgia southern that anybody cares. But they they lost by one to him and getting all kinds of points and then they play this week against Coastal Carolina team that beat Kansas. How embarrassing is that for? I know they beat them I think they destroyed him last year do but how embarrassing is that for less miles? He's making all that money at Kansas I know Lawrence isn't exactly a football paradise, but is it not embarrassing to lose to them back to back years? It is just an unfortunate. You know luck of the draw in terms of the the talent Carter Stanley is starting quarterback graduated. You know defensively where they were a couple of years ago they were a lot stronger from a decentralized perspective than where they were last year in your number one from less miles. So as they play these better teams in the big twelve speed type of teams, they don't have the offense to match them score for scores. So they're gonNA have to grind out wins. Could it be very difficult and I agree with you and you have a team in Coastal Carolina that comes to your house your favor. By seven points you lost in this team last your twelve to seven and got embarrassed you're supposed to win that game somehow somewhere you're not supposed to get blown out and you know less miles needs to turn it around. I agree with you. But again, who's going to take that job now after less miles in turn it around Walkman Gino is not waiting in the wings anywhere for just you know get them back on track like they were in the mid two thousand. So I think smiles is the right guy but he has to step up and now this team needs to progress especially on on the defensive side of the ball. So Notre Dame plays USF and. You know I was less than impressed with Notre Dame against Duke I was more impressed with cutlass and do the way they played the whole game they came out of the gates tough. They finished off they gave it everything they had, and they look at both of these teams like. First of all Notre Dame plays US after laying twenty six and then Duke. Plays You know they're laying foreign in that game against BC in Durham tell me what you think of those. First of all, tell me what he thought of Notre Dame's performance and then how do you think they'll rebound against us and then what did you think of? Duke. And how do you think they'll do against specie? Yes. So I thought Notre Dame is what I expected. I br I told I started on college football. Could I like Duke from the first half perspective because the way they played against Alabama and the fact that Notre Dame was without their top three leading wide receivers and that would her in book as he got acclimated with the quarterback wadden sea where relationship in the second half they got going were able to run the football I expect owner dame though to start passed against. South Florida. So south, Florida is a good. Team they're not an elite defense they're small they give up a lot of yards that heavy out that's a launch should dominate them. Just Scott is fantastic coach, the former clemson offense coordinator, but they are they do not have the horses to keep up with Notre Dame I, expect. Notre. Dame to blow them out and I like Notre Dame from a first-half perspective to get it done. They started slow against. Duke, look for them to pick it up against. South Florida. They should be more in rhythm in the first half. Boston College Boston. College is where my better bet scotty the way I look at it as I like the way do play it and chase rice stuffed up but I take out going down from a defensive perspective from the Heavier Offense Alon. Notre. Dame in the second half now they face a fresher team in Boston. College. playmakers, they don't have a solid quarterback Rossel's more of a game manager. They're going to utilize heavy offense align to wear them down I. Think Boston Colleges Alive Dog here they're catching six and a half they haven't played yet. That's not in their favor but I think the fact that do plead Notre Dame I..

I didn't know there were lessons to be learned in this. I. Can. My takeaway is I am not wearing these out again or if you're trying to you know. Yeah give off a different kind of message they're. Like Oh, I didn't know these crush leggings. Obviously it's a new covert style. Wow, okay. So eventful week for both of us shifting gears to other last week, we had a very controversial question Mary controversial would you rather? So the question was, would you rather someone whose political stands is at Fetig like they couldn't care less about politics or someone who is has very strong political beliefs, but they're opposite of yours. And I kind of knew where this will be headed in terms of polling. But. I didn't. I didn't realize how mad people would get. Yes. Question. They were mad at me for even posing it. Personally. People took it. I'm like guys a would you rather? Just too extreme everyone's like we need an option in the middle class. I get it I get it's not ideal. No one saying if ideal. You're not supposed to be ideal ideal. Then you knew like it'd be easier for you to pick which answer. So with Uh said Julie, what would be your answer? You know I actually flip flopped on this one. Which is Easy I know I think about it way too much like really liked to reason with these wedgie rathers so I actually watched the RNC the first night and I must say that it was the most comedic value I've received it a log ass time ed I'm sorry if I'm a fan getty what that shares the values here, but I'm just going to say it I won't go to watch on it but it was someone rooted like one of the news outlets wrote it up as like an SNL skit gone bad like an actual SNL skit and it was like. "So yeah I don't know if that a sense but it does still have a lot of thoughts. I don't want everybody on the Internet to suddenly second guess themselves be sick being being. Because what you're gonna go that's just going to end up. You're going to end up not doing it. Not Posting at all. Because you're going to get into a mind thing about you don't want everyone I don't want I can't believe I'm saying this but but I want everyone to be deeply thoughtful in meaningful before every posed. I think that would make for very boring Internet. Like I need a silly silly picture of people's kids. Yeah it's funny. I'm saying this because you know most of the time we're GONNA argue like we all need to be a little more thoughtful on the Internet and I think that that pertains to the news and politics and whatever but in terms of our kids and our families and our joys in our lives I guess so I want people to not be in a mind spin about it. I want people to be able to freely share like we're on this Sunday -cation or look at how ride my life is right now and not feel like that. That's the bad side of bragging but it's to me it's totally like I love to cheer on a friend WHO's like like look if it's amazing place where I am or like I won an award. Yea like you can feel the difference between a person who who is obnoxious about things and when people are just sort of sharing their joys and to me there has been a backlash two people sharing their joy a little bit like nine. I noticed a lot over the holidays but I noticed that the Latte you know for years now this has been a thing maybe like on Mother's Day this comes up again or father's Day like a lot of times it's around a holiday where there will be like a big influx of posts posts of people being like. Maybe you're in pain right now and I see you. Maybe this isn't a joyous holiday for you and and it's okay if you're not happy around this time and that's some of the FETIG and it started out. When those when those posts I sort of became a popular thing like really really beautiful like I thought? Oh we're really acknowledging people where they are and that sometimes holidays are harder. Families are difficult or whatever in really liked it but as the years have gone. And there's been like so much of this these empathy signaling posts. It started started to make me be like we'll cannot. Should I not post about how awesome my mom is. Because it's going to make somebody feel bad that they grew up without a mom at all or with a bad mom or whatever and so then I don't post about my mom so there's any wrong without. I'm not saying like I should be able to Brag Brag about anything I want to. That's my argument. Here I just think a weird backlash to digest like joyous joyous posts even on like the back to the family thing people who post a lot of their families if they never go deep if they just like. This is my beautiful family all the time. That's their entire feed. It is how beautiful their family is in a beautiful city in beautiful clothes. I personally sometimes enjoy those accounts like I think there candy and I think that they're fun but there's always always the people who are like. I think that that is vapid. And I know you're not going to please the tens of millions of people on the Internet but like I do think this this thing of like if you're not posting about social justice all the time or if you're not posting enjoying it if you're not posting joyous picture and then giving a bunch of disclaimers about how We're having a wonderful time but I it's okay if you're not. Here's my three disclaimers before I tell you about that I had a great time I just it gets like so complicated and again then back to the very heart of what we were saying. It ends up to me that people who fall in the middle which most of us fall in the middle of moderate the modern lives we just stopped hosting. Because we're like. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. I don't want to be viewed as Brag. I I don't want to or alternatively if I'm the person who's going through a hard time I don't WanNA bomb everybody out by posting my hard time like we all get we can get in our head about And I I just I. There's no conclusion here on a sum up for this but it's just like I watch it online and I watched people backpedal and I watched people slowly stop posting a certain genre of thing. They sort of pivot to posting only helpful posts. It's you know Bake Bay. Stop posting about their family or they stopped because they feel like well. You know the country free is a mess right now so I can't post a thing about how happy I am because somebody in my life is going to be like it's GonNa seem so insensitive. Yes feels insensitive. Gosh you said at night and I'm like and we all want to be sensitive. I hope that people who listened to the shore also want to be sensitive and also want to share their grief reef if that's what's called for joy if that's what's called four but a lot of us are second guessing all the things. Yeah and I think that to to be ironic for a second CAV. I'm going to put a caveat in here. disclaimer having empathy is a really good thing right like I I think we would all agree like man. I wish we would all be a little more empathetic on facebook like fee swell so like I don't WanNa say empathy is not bad. Of course it's not it's fantastic Dick and I'm super thankful that there are people that are mindful and want to be inclusive in their social media posting. But the thing that I often go back to is and I think that this is separate from uh-huh the privacy wanting to pull back a little bit for quiet and Privacy Sake. This is kind of a sidebar. A little bit but like something. I like to remind myself that I can't be everything to everybody. I cannot control someone's response to my own life and when people have taken issue with something that I said or they get on me about how perfect my life seems to be okay and how everything is super magical in my winter wonderland mountain town. I always tell them like man. The follow button is free like you do not half half to fill your feed with things that make you feel bad That make you angry. That make you feel less than that. Make you second gas your own parenting decisions. That like I mean the list could go on and on and on and on and on right like I think that as as much as we want to be careful with what we post I think we should be equally as careful about what we choose to input put like. What's what are we following in based on where we are in our life right like where I am in? My life may not be where someone else's and they may take issue is something that I say or something that I do. or how my life shaping out and that's okay. Don't follow me. It doesn't hurt my feelings. I'm not your shot of whiskey fine and I think that we're we're struggling without permission. Were struggling with trying to figure out what healthy input looks like an also what healthy output uh looks like on social media and I do worry a little bit about you know people who have something really really valuable to say and that would be really helpful all are in some ways censoring themselves for the fear of not hitting all of the check boxes on someone else's list right and making that person happy and hitting every mark were never going to hit every mark for every person it is absolutely one hundred percent impossible social social media litmus tests are really crappy in we shouldn't institute in it is forcing people to withdraw to step back because they are so fearful of breath saying the wrong thing social media. I think I mean that's like another problem I think with that. I don't want to bash on social media this whole time because it is wonderful but it used to be a place where you could make mistakes and you could say the wrong thing and have a pretty interesting dialogue about it and maybe get your mind changed. It is not really that anymore or it is moving away from it. I shouldn't say it's gone. 'cause there are still pockets of it. Great folks who engage well but yet it's becoming difficult difficult. It's becoming more and more difficult to get it wrong and to learn and to engage well because of all the things that we've mentioned before and so. Yeah Ah I mean like you said. There's no right or wrong answer. There's no clear path forward. I think we're all kind of trying to figure it out but can't really figure it out unless you bring it out into the open in the kind of lay out all the things on the table and go like what are all of the messy aspects of social media and how we start to sort through it in a way. That's healthy for me. Healthy for my family healthy for the people I mean community with breath and for those who make a living right on social media and sharing content like healthy for business healthy for brand whatever the case may be because it has to be. Aw composting so it it. It's super sticky messy and I don't know no restaurants or I don't think so when I was in thinking about your vox later about scout asking you all the Y Y Y Y Y I started thinking about it to myself why I do I do this. There's so many layers at the most Jong Layer. It's just fun like I totally. I love it a good picture. I think think my kids are cute. I like sharing it like you know. It's not it's not deeper than that like it's just fun. But then on the deeper layers eight years of it. It's hard to remember it. It really is hard for me to remember what life was like before four social media. I feel like the last ten years. There's always been social media since I've had children and actually almost oh since I've been married I remember when I got on facebook and posted wedding pictures and and so my life before all all of that when my teenage life my early twenties and all that it's almost hard to remember how I.
