Interview With Ben Seidman
"And welcome to episode. See how smooth welcome to before. Yeah welcome to episode four of the insider vanishing and on the line. Today i am lucky enough to have been seidman. Ben how are you today. Hello everyone hello damien. i'm wonderful thanks for asking you. I'm currently i was in. I was on a private island in miami. A couple days ago and then las vegas at the palazzo doing a show with derek hughes. And now i'm in the upper peninsula of michigan population. I think it's three now that i'm here. So you know things. Things change quickly guys. Don't get cocky okay. we're gonna kick off with this because some people we have listens around the world And you mobile night in the states than you are here so with no disrespect intended. Who are you and what do you do no no not at all. I'm very very famous. And the stance. But let's just let's touch without room misspent seidman who are you what do you do. You have forty three seconds. Okay i first of all used the first half of that to clarify that. No one knows who i am. And then i'll use the second half to say i do. Magic tricks mostly primarily on stage. You do stand up comedy in magic together. That's most of my work but my background is close up magic which i still do occasionally and still love so. There is something else that you might become more known for which is a new show on netflix. Tell us about that. Yeah yeah that's a fun thing. Yeah i'm very. I'm very honored to appear on a netflix original. That just dropped about a week ago. Called the brainchild and the show is a science show for kids produced by pharrell and also atomic entertainment. Who are the guys who did Brain games that apollo robbins and other great magicians also appeared on so they kind of they teamed up with ferrall design. This concept end. It's a kid show version of of brain games in a way where they want to teach kids about science. Which i think especially right now. I don't know how things are over in the uk but especially right now in the united states. I think teaching young people about science is more important than it ever has been and it was a lot of people who denying science in general so getting kids into it is great and yeah i did segments doing magic on that show and i think they translated it into all the languages so wherever you are listening from. Yeah if you haven't net flex go on there and you might you know if you're in korea. There might be korean person who has overdubbed my voice and And i think wherever you are if you get netflix. You can search for brainchild and see my segments. The ones that. I'm most proud of are on the episodes space and social media. So it's episode one and episode five and Yeah they're they're pieces. That i designed specifically for the show for the theme and i'm really really proud of that material. I've just seen them. And i've just watched them and i am. You see this is an interesting thing. Whenever things on television youtube comments always default to although they may not know the particular inaccurate they will say pre show or setup all stooges and i watched the first one. And i was like okay. There's something that that's crazy and the second one is a beautiful sleight of hand. So do you want to talk about either of them all sure. Yeah this is. This is the first interview that i'm actually talking about. So yeah i'm very. I'm incredibly happy with how they turned out. Obviously hindsight you always want to change things. But there's two interesting things. I think that are worth mentioning number. One is the social media. Piece was I'm i'm concerned one big concern with it and that's that people are just going to go with. Oh they're stooges and because it really looks clean it really looks good But i'm incredibly proud of the method that i developed. They are not stooges at all. I promise from the bottom of my heart. They are completely completely fooled. I didn't have them write down information before the show or anything like that. This really hit them like a ton of bricks and even though it looks completely impossible. It's a mellow. It's a method that i had developed several years ago and then continued to tweak and finally solved all the problems in time to make it work for this show so that is my promise. People will say. Oh it's completely sat up it. Is i promise you from the bottom of my heart genuinely fooled. It is really really impactful for the spectators live. Let's

They Call Us Sujata Day
"Hello and welcome to another edition of they call Bruce An unfiltered conversation about what's happening in Asia America I'm Phil You Jeff Yang, and we have a fantastic guests this episode somebody who wanted to have on for a while somebody loves and whose work Meyer and that is Giada Day. Actor filmmaker and the creator of a new film definition please which were incredibly excited to be talking about now Sujata welcome to the episode. Thank you for having me. Welcome. It's a power to Sunday night party. Suggest a day. You get that all the time. Oh yes. Nothing. Nothing like being agent and you know leaning into the name things because we get that. But SUJATA. Again, we have kind of all known each other ish like we've been in the same circles for a while and obviously been admirers of the stuff even doing since way back you know awkward black girl and of course you're working insecure. But this is a new thing right? Like a feature film and it's a feature film that seems. Very much rooted in your reality if you will. Since you wrote it and directed it and are starring in it. Yeah I Have you know done? Awkward Black Run I was on insecure and? Watching East race journey from the very beginning of you know s meeting on twitter and then going to her dad's doctor's office in Inglewood to shoot a twenty minute. Seen me walking out of there being like what the heck did. I get myself into. And watching her put awkward black girl on her credit cards and then US getting picked up by Ferrall for the second season and then HBO for insecure and. That entire journey alongside ISA. was such a huge learning experience for me which. All, culminated in the creation of definition please and me having the confidence to write the script and produce it and directed and starring it is all. Just snow grateful to have been part of ISA's. Happen in that gave me the confidence to embark on my own feature film and just get right into it and do it and. So I'm just so thankful that people are watching it now and enjoying it and. Sending me responses to the trailer and the film if they're watching it festivals. And it's just been really exciting to watch and. Also the it's not an autobiographical film, but it is really personal to me like all of my projects I start from a real place. So it'll be like a real person or a real situation that I was in, and then I will fictional is it from there so for example, this script started with me winning my spelling bee in fourth grade I don't know if you guys have been in spelling bees. Not Personally I I'm actually quite a good speller. Ford is worth. Much better that than like mass, for instance. But I've never competed and I'm sure you would crush me even at your fourth grade level. No I don't think you know what it's. It's probably because you were you always an avid reader. I was I was A. Kid, who kind of snuck books? Under the covers at night right and stayed up reading. Yeah. Yeah. Me Too and and I never trained for spelling bees and my parents never pushed me to do. I don't even think they were aware that spelling bees were a thing and in my tiny class of ten people in Fourth Grade One my spelling the which you know when you win out of ten people at doesn't feel like a huge win. But but it felt like a big deal everyone was proud. My teachers were proud of me. Mrs Lewis you know she took me to regionals. and. Once I went to regionals. It was just a whole other experience because there was a huge stage and it wasn't in the cafeteria anymore and there was a microphone and there was an audience and I think I got really nervous and I went out. On the first round and I misspelled radish. And I spelled it with two DS instead of one, and then I came down and Mrs Lewis Hugged me and I could tell that she knew that I was I was nervous and disappointed in myself but she was so comforting and I went back to my school and my friends just started. Me and making. Because I missed our such easy easy word. And and you know what I accepted the you know I accepted the bowling for that because I was like you know what? It wasn't easy word and and I should've gone out on a hard word.

"You're listening to ferrall on the bench. JT in for Scotty, ferrall. We're covering the breaking news story earlier today of Robert Kraft and the situation with him going forward charged with soliciting prostitution in what could happen with the NFL. What could happen with his ownership with a suspension? How does he clear his name? A lot of good reaction. Not only on the phones on also on Twitter at j t the brick. We'll get you all up here. You could talk about this. But again, we're not making light of this. These are very serious accusations. We're trying to keep it to a football perspective of what's going to happen next. Tony in Vancouver, Washington. What's happening? Hey, JT album makes sense for this. There is there is one small way that he can clear himself, and that's it. NFL teams like most major companies in this in the United States have a board of directors someone that protects the team against the leadership group or the ownership the falls astray with the law. You know, they can take they can censor the owner until his legal problems are clear, and maybe fortunately, take counseling or treatment, something they can present to the NFL into themselves that that he's in the right state of mind to run the business, again is does this make sense to you? Yeah. And thanks for the call. I gotta run on backed up here. I got to keep moving. Look, I think we're way way way getting ahead of this. He claims he's completely innocent. The patriots put out a statement his Representative saying he's one he's innocent of these charges. So let's remember that as we go forward here before we sent your him where we're wondering because these accusations are so severe and the cop said that they have him on film. He's facing charges a misdemeanor solicitation. He was not arrested, but a warrant will be issued his. Spokesman said they categorically deny all illegal activity and the NFL is aware and they're gonna monitor this. So again, I don't know what's going to happen with the team. But clearly, it's the personal shame of Robert Kraft who's involved in a case with a bunch of other men in Florida that he's going to have to clear his name from. I if he doesn't clear his name. There's no doubt. He's going down with the NFL. There will be a big suspension coming up. Here's Darwin's Zuck with a CBS sports update. Sports flash. All right, JT, Seventy-seven-year-old.

"It's all on ferrall on the bench dot com. Go check it out. Everybody's doing it. They just won't admit it. So. Let you go eight five five two one two four CBS Gaijin. So you haven't told me Carver high and mafia your opinion of this guy. Durant's little meltdown last night. We were here live and in the last hour of the show. He at his post-game presser where he went on. His just tirade about blaming the media. Let me say this is what he said he said y'all coming here every day as we about free agency is my teammates, my coaches, you rile up the vans about it. Let us play basketball. Let us play basketball. That's not really he went on and on. He said. Y'all need to grow up. And everything else. He specifically. He said I have nothing to do with the next. I don't know traded presenting. It's got nothing to do. With me. I'm trying to play basketball. You're coming here every day. Bubba Bubba Bubba. That's all I'm saying. And now when I don't wanna touch ya. It's a problem with me. Come on grow up grow up, man. Grow up. Come on, bro. I come here and go to work every day. I 'cause no problems. Played a right way. I tried to play right way. I try to be the best player. I can be on every possession. What's the problem? What am I doing to y'all? I mean, it is pathetic. If you ask me that he's like blaming the media for what what problems? Do you have in life, dude? Well, I mean, really what problems do you have in life with the fat stacks year? Megan. He's one of the best players in the league. He scars that. Well, he's scars at nauseam. He wins rings. He wins championships. They raised banners. He got his way he wanted to play her. Right. I mean, he chose to play there. Nobody we didn't push you there. Nobody helped you get that gig from the media. Are you blame us for that too? That you decided to go play with the super team is our fault too. And then everybody needs to grow you need to grow up bra that bra. I mean, honestly bra. What? Because you're such a miserable. Dude, how in God's name. Honestly can somebody explain to me? How can you be miserable? I mean, you've got to be depressed or something in life. It's gotta be a man thing to be depressed. I mean, and there's nothing I'm making no light of having depression. But you gotta be depressed or something to play with them and be miserable. Don't you? How do you play on that team? And all you do is win and went idols, and you're miserable. There though was he not miserable in Alex city must have been because he laughed then he talked about how great he loved it there. And how everything was so fantastic. No it wasn't. If you laughed because you didn't want to be there anymore because PG by dare and everybody thought he was going, but he stay because he liked it. Right. And now he's a rock star. They're like you're a rockstar there. Then you gotta when you're a rockstar there. But that's not enough to make you happy. He's just a miserable. Dude is what he is. He's a miserable. Do. And then what he wants to do is push it off on the media. It's the media's fault that I'm miserable. Because we bother you, bro. I don't give a rat's ass about your ass. How's that sound give a rat's ass about your ass and all your mental problems? And all your you. Don't like us and telling people to grow up. I mean, you're pathetic. You couldn't hack it here in New York. I guarantee it plays. Do us all favorite come to New York because I would love to see you come here. And I will put an over under on six months. You will snap like a cracker here because the media Cheryl drive you nuts. It's like having an anima every day of your life. Do you even with this media in this town, am I Iran, they will harass you until you stick a gun in your mouth? Honestly, I mean, they'll be in your face every day. And if they sense a weakness, I mean, I smell the blood. They come running. I mean, they're like vultures don't tell me, I'm wrong, either this guy cannot hack it here in New York. He can't make it with the New York Knicks because all they do is suck and lose. Anyway. And one player is not gonna make them. Just win fifty five games down. You you can't pull that off on me. Because I mean, look at your boy right now Houston, isn't he the entire team like CB three don't even matter anymore? Does he I mean hardens the only deal? What are they at the end of the day? You got one guy scoring forty every night. And what does it get them? Does it get him anything as he want anything as he ever one rains that guy cannot come here to New York and win anything by himself, and he won't be able to hack the media here to save his ass. And it'll take five minutes for that relationship to sour that day. They have him on the dais. Introducing a New York again, this jersey and all his money, and everyone's gotta be sucking up to one four weeks later. He'll be at odds with the media. It'll take less than one month before they're in his face blaming him for every loss. He'll be blamed for everything even the s thirty five and night. Don't blame him when they lose. And that's all there is to it. He won't be able to make it here. Stay there. Stay where you are keyed winning championships with curry and Thompson, what you should really do as commend your boy Klay to stay there forever and keep playing with curry, and you and green. And you guys just keep one in banners? And that's all there is to it. He not wanna know banners in New York, but an next he won't be able to handle it here. He won't because he doesn't like any stress at all. He wants no one to ever ask him anything. He wants to be never bothered is that about right? He wants no one ever bothering him. Because I guess he's so privileged. We should all be so lucky to know him or we should only be allowed to watch him. But we're not allowed to talk to him or go near him. And then I thought him calling out the guy the reporter by name, Ethan straw. He just, you know, put him in a frying pan to blaming EMMY says you write stuff about me. But you never talk to me and everything else. This guy can't stand the media. And I don't know what did it to him because he was never a guy in Austin, Texas was he and then he really was never guy in oak city because when you're in oak city, there's like no media there. Right. So he's got the life of Reilly. It all started. When he went to the warriors. And people said he was taking the easy way out to go play with super team ever since. Then he couldn't handle people calling him out for what was the flat out truth. He couldn't get it done with Westbrook. So he went to play with a super team, and he got his championships. It's no different than when LeBron went to Miami. And got his rings. Everybody said he copped out too. So Durant never liked it and ever since those days Durant spent a day. Kabila true. Because not only was it soft and Oklahoma City. He was never criticized there, even when they lost. What was the one? They always wanted to what was the one. They always blamed who was the person whose fault. It was because he was a ball hog last Westbrook. It was never Durant fault. It was always Westbrook's fault. Everything was always green for him. Everything was always awesome. He's good as a kid people. Love them people applauded him. He was good at Texas. Bill. Pat him on the back of the everyone loved them. It was always blamed on west failed. Once he started getting any settlements of criticism. He went off the deep end, and you have the fake Twitter accounts. He was bashing people left and ride. He couldn't take it. He cannot take criticism at all. I've been saying that since day one of people saying, oh, we might come to New York. Good luck with that. What was the fake refresh my memory about the fake burner accounts? So was he was Billy. Donovan Westbrook on Twitter on was supposed to be a different account, but not realizing it was his own account. But he flat out said on his account stuff about them or bus and the fans are talking about him and take an easy way out like you blame them for his failures. Essentially, do you think he's gonna play the Knicks? And do you think if he comes at an exit smart, do you think you'll be able to hack it? He will not be able to hack into New York. If you can't take the media giving you any sort of criticism, then you should not come to New York. That's the last place because this team has been so bad for so long. There is nothing good written about them. So if you think you're gonna come in and also and everything's gonna be great and the just gonna write about. How mazing you are. They crucify the owner the GM the president the weather taxi drivers anyone that even goes near that building gets ripped to shreds. Look what they do to that Dolan. Now, not to say deserve it. But that guy he's making their worth whatever four something billion dollars. The Knicks are making money hand over fist sold out every game. They never win. But they bash that guy till the cows come home, they bash everybody, and then do you remember when they haven't started bashing Dale yet? But that's common because all that guy's done since he's been here is. Yep. And lose he talks a lot. Does fifty million interviews talks about how bright the future is? They have no bright anything and they're going to start blaming him soon too. 'cause they blame everybody the media in this town, they will attack you until you literally jump off a roof with ought to be next year. If they don't start winning next year if they get any kind of free agents, whether Timur some of these other guys will always cap room they'll start blaming him and getting on him or if they don't get anybody. They'll start blaming him and get on him because it was what? This guy is supposed to be a fun with all the players, and he can't get anybody to come here. That's when it's all going to start for him. If you come here asserts winning sure, they'll love him. But the second you start screwing up the second. You don't you think you're gonna go New York and not answer for nine days of the media. Good luck with that things. What do you think? Well, look, here's the one thing that you have to remember is that the Knicks PR department is actually some of the you know, the worst in the league. So what they they if he told them that he doesn't wanna talk to anybody. They actually don't care about the media. They would they would actually put the wall up for them. They're good at that. They don't let anybody talk to anybody over there. They've thrown reporters out they've done. They don't allow access. So it's actually if you look at it from that side, you know, if you don't want to talk to anybody at that place. They don't care if you don't talk to anybody. So well, then they'll just Basha, right? They'll just bash up quotes, and he won't care and interest will never talk to anybody. Care. You can't just put from the fact that he doesn't it's not like last night. He won't have to go sit at a table already cares about some guy writing things about him like eaten straw. What? Do you think? He's going to do in the yard where they just make stuff up for von if this guy smart, he'll stay where he is. He's in a cushy situation. He you know, all the heat that he's getting right now is about free agency. It's not about his play. It's not about if the warriors win or lose. So what are you mad because I mean, the guy? Great every night. No one ever questions his game. They question is what do you think you're going gonna go to and they asked him. He didn't wanna talk about it anymore. The guy should just stay where he is keep winning titles gonna stop talking about it play. And just keeps just stay out there. The NBA is more profitable based on the off the cord stuff that we do than it is their game..

"You're listening to ferrall on the bench. Eight five five two one two four CBS four to do seven is the number to get on the bench. Ted in Illinois. You're on CBS sports radio. Hey, thanks for taking my call get right to it. The Rams getting no love from riders that I'm reading or nobody on the radio. And I understand that they had two or three games bad street. But I said I was in Chicago watched the game they give the ball to early. What ten times? Maybe I said there's something here right with girly. He's he's injured. They're protecting him. Come to find out. I was right. Bring you in C, J Anderson who's been what Charlotte, and then he was with the raiders, and they didn't do anything with him. He's got wheels comes off the bench. What's up hundred sixty seven yards the next game? What one thirty one fifty somewhere in there? But no one's talking. I mean everyone's talking about the two-game skid the three game skid. Nobody's talking about. There was a problem. They fixed it C, J Anderson. I'll shut the phone off. And listen to what you have. There you go. I don't I don't have a problem with that. He did a good job when they had to have him step up. And I mean, I think their plan, obviously is you know, girlie against Zeke. I think that's what we're going to see on Saturday night. And if not and if girlies banged up and he's not doing well, then they'll probably go back to that. Well, but it is what it is. I, you know, I think this game's going to be a lot more than just that. I think there's going to be so much offense. So many big plays passing the ball to everyone underneath too tight ends to deep roots bombs. I think you're gonna see all of that from from Goth and from Dak and I think Zeke will have a strong game. I you know, he's been fantastic lately. Vertu Cowboys, and they both have great is obviously the Rams have some kind of an in that they have had time to rasta, you know, people just refuse to accept the fact that that by means anything, and I'm just not that dumb. I mean, you get a week off to get ready, and you're resting and chilling and watching film, and they're out beating themselves. Up and playing and then travelling and everything else, and I think that take some kind of a toll on you in some capacity or another we'll see if all that factors into it. But the Rams have handled their business when they have injuries. They have guys, you know, step up, and that's the way the world works now. In sports. You have a guy drop you gotta have somebody else step up and get it done. It's that simple. I mean the Steelers had bell didn't play the whole season. They start Connor and Eragny put up huge numbers. Then he got injured. And then you gotta go to the to the next option. It is what it is. So we'll see I don't, you know, frankly, I don't believe C Anderson gonna be you know, I I it's not like, I don't think he can do something. But I, you know, I don't think he's gonna be frankly, the reason they win, but he could be I mean anything's possible. I just you know, who knows? S j in Oklahoma City, you're on CBS sports radio. Yeah. Hey, ferrall. You remember back when you're playing basketball at facial cuts? Yeah. Well, I mean, let's think about that. I mean, thankfully, a very ruggedly handsome, man. Thank you. A couple more battle scars on you only adds to the froma ski. Yeah. I mean, I remember that game. I got cut up a guy sliced my face with his cO. Cain fingernail. Oh, man. And I got a big cut on the side of my nose and up into my face and on my chin. There is definitely blood and everything going on. I was gushing blood on the basketball court, but I kept playing. That's because you're a warrior, but anyway, wondering. Do you think? Whether it's college football. Now, we're seeing a Sweeney take him to the last three from saving. Right. And then in the NBA Golden State's not on top right now. Is there any kind of changing of the guard going on in either sports, or is that just fool's gold or in one or the Clemson Clemson just took the changing of the guard. They're the team now. I mean, you know, you went two of three from that's pretty impressive. Those games were the first to great this one. I thought was ugly. But I thought Clemson played fantastic. So you can't take anything away from them. And I do not see right now a changing of the guard in the NBA at all. I think I think the warriors are going through the motions to be honest with you. I just think they're like did you see him the other night against the kings? They both put up over twenty. They both made over twenty three's. Both teams had forty one threes in a game. The warriors can do whatever they want. They beat the Knicks ass internet Spang done by like thirty. These games are practiced to them. That's all these games. Are this is basically an extended show they're doing and they put on a show show bills fans. Pay hundreds of dollars to sit in the oracle. They it is an extended practice. What did you think of the guy Wiggins after the game when he got in the fight with? It was not. It was not Wiggins that got in the fight was Schroeder. But Wiggins after the game, they said that he was making an, you know, gay comments or something and he denied all of that. He said he never said any of that stuff. Sure. He didn't problem is they have the video of it. And it's obvious that he says it did you see him sad. So they're talking about the whole play the gun. Well, knocked out of the hospital try to dunk on him. And apparently shorter took fence we thought that he heard him that he did it purposely that he hit him in the head like that. I said, I don't know why ticked off. And. So word just saying that as a slang negative term. And they have video of the interview and he's like. No. We can see what you said you said that. Oh, I didn't see that. So so you saw and actually say it. He came out today and talked about how much he loves the LBJ. I spend it if you didn't. Yeah. Yeah. So I guess Noel got can cost right. He's he's out now with a concussion the best odds to win the MVP. James harden, even odds genus, the Greek freak at three two two LeBron dawn and Joe Embiid ten to one odds. Anyway. What else I I saw this one? Everything looks good for a Terrence bud Crawford. Amir Khan fight according to our good old friend. Bob arum. T bud t bud. It looks like a both fighters on board and the paper is being finalised. Right. That would take place on April. Twentieth and headline at ESPN pay per view card the first of the seven year deal. The network has with top ranks. There's Terrence bud Crawford on the bench. Always excited to come on a bench and get ready for his next fight. New York and Vegas spots. We're talking about. It's a big fight in Konic Robert have a lot of people fly to their fights. They have good fan bases, blah, blah, blah. That's what a place like Vegas. Looks for customers to come in and fill hotel rooms a place like the garden looks like they wanna feel sees doesn't care about filling hotel rooms wherever I'm very optimistic. The fight is going to happen. There you go. Where else do they have the fights, basically? Right. He fights in Omaha. No one wants to go there for that fight. So they guess it is right. I mean. Where would you rather go see a fight Vegas or at the garden mean for us at the garden? It'd be easy. It's right down the street. Vegas is the home of boxing. Right. Absolutely. Probably used to be the garden back in the day. She could we say that maybe right. But those days are gone when was that many big time fights at Madison Square Garden anymore. The ever I read this thing you see the story. I wrote I say a booming divided boxing business in two thousand nineteen you see our boy, Richard shaver of ring star sports is all over this article. They're talking about the PVC. They're talking about Al hinman that he's a trailblazer. He's helped elevate the sport bringing any ESPN and bringing a FOX, and they got deals the PBC with. ESPN FOX F S. One top rank has a deal with ESPN does zone is now sleeping with golden boy and. Back in two thousand fifteen is the BBC was launched it negotiated a series of time buys with various hours with varying degrees of success while still having cards over broadcast on Showtime finally able to secure multi year rights deal with FOX that began in late December with German Jarmo Charl co headlining from the Barclays, meanwhile, one of them lost that fight. Now they have zone. How do you think that went with the fight with canal in that rocky fielding didn't he beat his ass? That was terrible, isn't it? Yes, he killed him. Right. As far as I remember. Yeah. I think they I can't even remember it was like December fifteen or nineteen or something like that. It was that weekend. And I don't even remember what he did doing. I know he beat him that was easy anyway. Golob can comes to design or they're gonna get Cannella and Golob can three. I just don't wanna watch that. Again. I thought the first two fights were fixed. I really did. But we are going to pack Yao and. Browner the problem Brunner. He is a problem because he's such a pain in the ass. Baseball win totals. They have those out now Carver high. How about this Houston ninety seven and a half Yankees ninety six in Boston ninety five and a half. So they win the World Series. And now there are ninety five wins dodgers ninety five Cleveland ninety one and a half cubs. Eighty nine cards eighty eight and a half nationals eighty eight and a half tab, eighty five and a half Atlanta, eighty four. I'm just looking at these the Mets eighty three and a half we're going to go to the World Series. Now that they got Robbie casino. Anyway. San Francisco Giants damn Seventy-three Jesus. They have the Phillies eighty three wins. You think that'll be the case if they get Harper Machado might as well, go hop on outline now just in case, right? I mean. Yeah. So did you see the? Free vodka for life offer for our Tammy Pinera. The Columbus blue jackets if the. If the year old becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, he could leave the blue jackets, right? But they're trying to keep him there by offering him free vodka for life. Just what he needs to become a raging alcoholic. All he can have free bottles of vodka pouring all day long. If you have a greeter at his condo that serves up vodka shots. Everybody that shows up right? There you go. Anyway. So Super Bowl odds. Cowboys plus twelve hundred do you like those odds? I don't know about that egos, plus a thousand colts plus thousand chargers plus nine hundred I guess, they don't have a shot Badri are plus six hundred Rams plus four fifty chiefs plus four hundred saints plus.

"Radio all day, and you continue to raise the bar day in day out. I love it. You're listening to ferrall on the bench. So. Richard shavers here. The just the greatest guy ever like, you know, over the years. You know, how much I admire you and look up to you in this in this game in boxing. You are one of my favorite people I've ever met in this business. Thank you. Thank you. Bruce favorite of all time. Now, you weren't here earlier when I was talking bad about people. But I I did a really good job of would you say cutting through people's hearts that I don't like this business, and I did it for Bruce in your honor? And his he wasn't making many comments. But I did them all for him. Because you know, I can I can lead you through the woods. All you have to do is hold my hand. And I'll take you through the deep brush to talk bad about people. But I was talking about the the business and how nasty it is. It is it really is. So I guess my first question is because I followed you your entire career and the magnificence what you've displayed in this business. And now you've done this new venture. And I haven't spoken to you since you took off and started doing ring star. And my first question to you is like has it been everything you thought it would be in terms of like, it's a very tough challenge for YouTube. To break away from the enormity of what you were at golden boy and the biggest fight man in the business in all boxing. There was no one bigger than you at all bar, none. And then you went off and started your own company because it seemed to me that you got sick and tired of playing games with people. And you wanted to do your own thing. That was my guess. And so I was like, wow. This is going to be a challenge for this guy. But I know you're smart enough to do it. How grueling has it been or has it not been at all been an easy ride for yours have been very tough. Well, you know, sometimes I look back in the you're right with golden boy was able to build up the biggest promotional stable, which may be in Bonn group ever existed and be dominated the sport. We had all the big pay per views. All the big names, everything we had everything. But in the end of the day, I had to do what I felt was the right thing to do. I have to resign from golden boy because it was just not anymore direction. I believe in the company was going to go, and I decided to put in, you know, put it in my resignation, and I left, and I took some time off to reflect if I really wanna go back into boxing because I've done it against all odds. Because when we started an Oscar me started golden, boy, nobody gave us a chance the old told us, I don't king and Barbera's guys. They're going to eat you alive. You know? I mean, you are great fighter Oskar. But what the hell do, you know about business, and these guys are Swiss banker, he knows even less of business in boxing. You know? So you're gonna have no chance at against. All odds, we were doing it. So I was thinking really long and hard. If I want to do it and do it again, and it was very encouraged by events. I went to a handful of boxing events. I had fighters. The public fans come up to me and say, hey, we need you back. We want you back. Why don't you give it another run? And then so that encourage that really encouraged me, and it helped me sort of like steering me in Mumbai direction. But then it was really the World Boxing super series the fantastic Ali trophy, which I got involved in vetoes people from Europe. And they want me to help them build up that boxing tournament which is terrific tournament. And that sort of like gave me the last push to say, okay. You know, what let's do it again and just around the corner back there back then we're talking about two thousand and sixteen. Gordy Olympics in Rio Olympics, and I saw some great young talent there, and it was approached by actually some of these young fighters they came to see me before they went to Rio. And I said, you know, what? Now, the time has come. So I applied for my boxing licenses again in the different states, and I formed drink star ring star sports, which I'm building now. And I very fortunate to fighters I was able to attract from the Rio Olympics something which nobody has done the gold medalist super heavyweight. So like the cherry on top of Tony Yoka. Big star in France has a big deal now in France, and I built up bring star France. Now, we do about six events there a year, and then I was able to sign the silver medallist Joe choice from year who is going to be fighting on this card who is clearly one of the most talked about young heavyweights oven calmer up and comer. And then I was able to. Then actually, right. My my old friend make good friend. Shelly Finkel great show who brought me many of the great fighters, which we. He has wilder as well. Had he had. He's I talk about heavyweight an eye for heavyweights. He was the manager for Mike Tyson. He used to manage was to manage click corP. He's demand for wilder. So this guy has an amazing eye for talent. So he comes to me. And he tells me I found this fighter. He's an Olympian as well. He's from Nigeria and man can this guy fight. I've never been easy excited about the fighters. Shelly tells me since Mike Tyson and the fighter he's talking about. His name is F a shock. He's the one that the guy got in the ring and rant. Yes. Looked at him and ran out the that's the guy undefeated signed the contract. He knew how much he was gonna make he signed the contract weeks before the fight. He will so K to fight. But then he saw the guy across the ring. And he said, you know, what I want to take off the guy who ran out of the ring that's F Jacques by. So I was able to sign him as well. So if you look at the four best heavyweights in the world young heavy day, I've got a mall and same in awesome of the other way classes like greatly to wanian kid, the best young American fighter Mexican-American who's there? Who's the Lithuanian kid his name is a month Stagno onus is he fighting here. He's gonna be fighting in China. And he's I'm he's ready to go into the Bruce told me about it that he's incredibly we can fight. Anyone? Do you see the thing is like like choice is going to be fighting on Saturday. He has no six fight six win six knockout. And he's basically ready to challenge for world title, and some people say, yeah, you know, typical promoter like why are you saying that how can the guy possibly fight for a world title off the six fights? Well, you have to remember the game has changed. Today's amateurs are not like yesterday's amateurs. Yesterday's amateur amateur boxing every wearing headgear right now today amateurs dunked were headgear anymore, including in the Olympics. No headgear. So they are used they're much more pro-life or ready. Do you think that's a good idea? Well, I think it's a dangerous thing. Yeah. If they get caught in the Olympics, and they can't compete anymore than it's dangerous thing. But in a way, it's a good thing. Because you know, it prepares them to go pro and the fight. It doesn't have to be having an professional fighter doesn't need to have twenty fights before he can go and challenge for world title, and the less every fight even the easier fights these fighters have to go through a tremendous training, sparring and takes a lot out of them. And if they can if they can achieve that to become world champion off the six seven eight fights. Like we've seen with low marchinko is not a perfect example these images today are different breed of amateurs, they're not typical amateurs like in the past and if they can fulfill their dreams in the number of nonetheless fights, then it's better for their health. So I'm all for it. So we'll come back with Richard shaver and have a big segment with him because I have so many questions. I wanna ask him. I want to send it back to New York. Now, we'll get an update with Jay Berman. And then we'll come back with ring stars. Richard shaver. And I wanna ask him about a lot of these fighters and how he's been able to have that. I for the talent that he's been able to find all over the world and not just in front of him here in the United States that he's been able to go to every nook and cranny wherever the fighters are he's he's finding them and signing them, and it's an incredible story. And what he's putting together is really special at ring star with some of these great young talents. And I can't wait to hear how he was able to do it. And how he's flourished and had that is always had the I for boxers and for talent and for business, but he's finding these kids. He's diamonds in the rough. It's just crazy what he's doing and I'm digging it big time. I can't wait to watch the kid fight on Saturday night. Joyce. So we'll come back. Let's go to Jay Berman in New York with an update on what's going on especially with that. Laker pacer game..

"ROY Williams coach of North Carolina tonight his quote after the Carolina heels got whacked by Michigan is applicable, mafia. The ferrall ballers listen to this right now we stink end quote. I think that's a perfect analogy between our team and their team. We sucked we sucked at a time that you can't suck. This is very true. I don't even know what's going on here. Jeff bronze highschool threatened. The on the modern Kansas classes after a threat was made at school because of his decision to stay at Purdue. Now, you know, you're a loser. You know, you're a loser. When you start threatening to me what hurt people at the high school. He went to thirty years ago. How pathetic do you have to be human being if you want to call it yourself that to what are you gonna do blow up the high school? I mean what what's going on there? You're gonna hurt a bunch of kids because some guy's not gonna coach your stupid college. I mean is that not the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard that that is high school in Louisville right where he went to school. They threatened the someone threaten the school and the kids because the guy wouldn't take the job at Louisville. How that is the worst thing I've heard today. Like, are you kidding me? His dad is at a with the football team there. It's just absolutely moronic. It says here Carver high's working on his jump shot. I'm taking it that people have asked of Carver high could come to the rescue of the ferrall ballers anything could happen. Anything is possible into the future. Here. I have to say the story that makes me want to hurl this week. Is the continuation of the Baker Mayfield. Hugh Jackson cheese festival still going on. It is just so pathetic. Who gives our rat's ass about him leaving the Browns and going to the Bengals he's a crappy coach, it doesn't matter. What color is wearing. He's a crappy coach. I don't care if anybody says, I'm sick and tired of hearing about how Hugh Jackson is this. And that what he is. Is he sucks? He's a terrible. Coach all you ever. Did was lose wherever he was. He has done nothing but lose he's a loser. I'm sick. Erin it. And then just this whole bed about Baker Mayfield, not like him and not taking his word back and everything out. It's pathetic. Asking him. Like, he said what say ready he he's now clarified three times that he's not taking back. What he says he feels the way feels they keep asking them about it. Like like if his opinions going to change every day. It really is pathetic though, that the media just won't let it go. Like, it's so dumb. Who cares? What he thinks of him. He's gone. He's not a part of the Browns anymore. Stop who cares. Try to win games. Like you're doing you beat the Bengals now go on to your next game. I mean, what are you worried about that guy for how far is that guy in their heads? I mean, it really is. Unbelievable. Isn't it that they just can't get rid of him? I mean for a guy that what did he win win this year two games before they fired him? I believe so. Yes. So they want to without him. Right. So or something like that? Right. So he won four games. Is that two three three games? He went three games. All the time. He was there. And he's there for three or four years when he he wanted three games. Right. Is that about right like shot up who cares about this this loser? And I can't even fathom some would give him another job as a head coach. He's such a disaster. Clayton and Ohio. Thank you so much stigma. Call man love the show. Thanks for your picks, even more, man. A thanks to find out. They don't know what they're doing. It's a great thing. It's cheap people love it. And they and they win and they make money. That's all there is to it's almost tougher now with your podcast to get someone's getting information from that. I hope people like it. We work really hard on it. I know it takes a lot of work as a pain in the ass. Batman. I can only imagine I've been on hold and I was like thinking Buckeye Buckeye Buckeye Buckeye. And then I was like wait I need to speak my whole conference here. Right. There's not enough respect for the big ten. I mean, how is Clemson. And Notre Dame just like skating through with ACC schedule like who wouldn't want. I actually I disagree with you Clayton. I thank God Notre Dame how to brutal schedule and Clemson is what it is. They all they've done in the last three years is when I don't wanna hear there's no team in the big ten better than Clemson, including state. And that's all there is to it. Right. And then let's just let's clear this up really quickly. There's only really I mean, what is there one and a half. Good teams in the big ten. One and a half. So like, Ohio State. Yeah. And what Michigan? Northwestern is anyone afraid of northwestern at all. What they did was they got into this position because they were able to win in the conference with the pathetic games that they play. They did a good enough job to get into the big ten title game where they are fourteen point dogs, again, they get no respect at all. Because there's no team in that conference. That matters. They've been trying to sell in cramped Penn State down our throats every year since I've been alive Jack in Baltimore. Go ahead. How you doing tonight, man? I'm average. All right. So listen. Pittsburgh needs to win at least three of the next five days. Right. They got the chargers raiders. The patriots the saints and the Bengals right? How did they win three of the next? I think they can I think they can beat anybody. I think that one of the problems. I heard Ron cook told me tonight that they always lose to the raiders. I just don't see that happening in Oakland. I think the raiders are as bad as it gets in the NFL this year. You look at the worst teams Arizona and the raiders there right there. Head to head. So I'm not worried about them. I would be very worried about the chargers saints and patriots. And I'm not worried about the Bengals it ought to be honest with you corn and taxes. Mike, Rick, right? Quick up very much offensive coordinator. Yes. Or no. You do. I think he should be calling the plays. Yes, sir. I I don't really have a problem with that thought. Miami's defense was good this year. Obviously, I think number two the country. But the reason why I thought that they had the record that they had was because their offense was so bad. So the defense was good. But not good enough because they're wasting their wasting that defense. So I agree with you. They're wasting it. Yeah. It's it's it's horrible. I mean, they're fair to Midland are very average football team. And listen, I don't think Mark richt that they're gonna do better than than Coral Gables. I like him as the head coach for now. I think he's gonna do a good job. I think he's done a good job. I think he dealt with what he had this year. What he had was to average quarterback so horrible fence a wide receiver that went AWOL. And they just weren't good with the ball. And I thought that they were, you know, defensively solid. But I don't think they were as good as they were last year defensively when that whole turnover chain thing started I thought last year they were better. I thought this year was a real disappointing year for the canes. I mean, they won at the end of the season tech and Pitt. But does anyone really get scared about vodka and pit now pets ACC championship? But they're probably going to get their ass. Be. So I don't think anyone really respects him that much Mary Ellen in Virginia. Get her again. Hey, what about this name? I partner before for Nyden was Angstrom. Yeah. I mean, Hank Schram was the legendary coach obviously with the Kansas City Chiefs. I used to love watching him. What is rolled up magazine in his hand? Like the game. You know, what do they call it? The the program the game program. He had rolled up in his hand. He was one of the one of a kind in the NFL for sure. Accident. I was thinking about too key Jackson was as good as they get. I mean, I sat there and went to the Rose Bowl. And I sat and watched a Roosevelt game with Ron Dane, and Wisconsin I sat literally one row literally the last row in front of the press box. And I was three feet in front of key Jackson for an entire game. Listening to him. Call the Rose Bowl on television. It was awesome. And plus at the Roseville, they serve beer, and that was back in the days when I drank and I was hammered for the entire game indicate Jackson, call the Rose Bowl is great. I gotta hurry Allen. And South Carolina got twenty seconds. Hey, I love the show. Thanks it up. I'm a truck driver. You kept me going. All right. Right. Y'all have a great time out in California like say just keep keep the show. Whoa, nelly. I love that guy. Keith jackson. Whoa. Nelly. Nelly college football. Here we go just busted that off. Did you see Magnus Carlsen kept the chess world championship over your Bianco? The American loss missed that one. There you go hottest coaches will not do that tonight. Kyle Korver goes back to the jazz. What a thrill that has to be form. Good evening Salt Lake Lonzo ball says he'll play tomorrow despite the ankle. There you go. "Robin lundberg here on cbs sports radio that's my new game waiting for the beat drop on flashing lights at the end of the show one more with you i used to i i don't know if they have a problem used to say we say segment segment toll show i mean there was like a slip i didn't mean to call it the segment if you're not supposed to do that one more segment here with you before i turn it over to scott ferrall ferrall on the bench coming up at ten pm eastern time let me let me preface this by saying like i'm going to say there's a story i don't want to talk about and i'm tired of talking about i really like legitimately tired of talking about and i feel bad that i'm tired of talking about because sports talk radio we all have been inundated with talk around the protests during the anthem i don't call them anthem protests because they're not anthem protests they weren't protesting the national anthem and i greatly respect what those guys are trying to do i am sympathetic for their cause and i think it took a lot of courage i hope i'm an ally in getting these conversations going and and hopefully you know initiating some sort of change but at the same time the protests itself and all the stuff around all the noise has taken it to a totally different sort of meaning it's gotten muddied so much especially when it was appropriated by the dude in the highest office right now and it just became too hot button topic that a lot of it got lost in the noise and i think even the players involves realized that especially like after the whole dust up middle last year became a protest of trump instead of a protest of what it was before and and i think the people behind it including eric read the forty niners realize as much and they've said as much and that i wanted to make sure i say before i say it's not a story anymore it's not people aren't talking about it except for the nfl which seems so obsessed with it continues to allow it to be a story it continues to be a story because of the actions of the powers that be the nfl you know keeping colin kaepernick out of the league keeps it a story if he were to sign with the.
