"I want to start with the russian multipurpose laboratory module which is i believe called naga for short. But it's it's a it's the new russian module For the irs. They've been working on for years. It's actually ready for launch supposed to launch on july twenty first. This is a big deal. Eight days later it will dock at the airport of these leads. The service module at the iss so the being added to the russian segment of the iss and in fact the cosmonauts are in the process of dumping some old stuff off the i s to make room for it in particular There is a docking port called peers. That there they. They did a seven hour long space walk last month. Who was the second spacewalk to disconnect peers from the space station they disconnect this docking module. Because it will be replaced by the new multipurpose lab module so peers gets disassembled or like disconnected. And it's going to be attached to the progress. Seventy seven cargo ship. And then they're going to deorbit those guys and they burn up in the atmosphere and that's the end and then knock a arrives and then they'll the cosmonauts will need to do another space walk to plug it all in and install everything there but then they will have a new russian science module and the iss will expand even further for the first time in a little while. So that's interesting on its own. I think the russians haven't had a dedicated science modules. So now they're they're gonna have their own dedicated science module. There's also i think a really interesting piece of hardware on this module and that is something called the era e. r. a. stands for european robotic arm. That's pretty good

Sell Me Your Climate Bombs

"Okay. So there are countless outdated old refrigerant tanks scattered around the country and Tim and Gabe say that the problem is you cannot just dump these tanks in the trash you wanted to take it to a dump, their knocking ticket they'll say, no, no that stuff's like hazardous material we don't want here. Material. The only thing you're allowed to dump, there is the empty tank when it's all gone. So you're really stuck it sits there on your shelf you have no use for and it's eventually going to leak through these cylinders cans into the atmosphere. If you're a professional like an auto mechanic or an H. back installer or if you're just one of those tinkers who hangs out at autozone, you might have one of these bad band canisters and. You could pay to safely dump the chemical out, but only a few places in the US will even do it and it's expensive. That's why they're canisters of this stuff just sitting in old garages rusting away and leaking leaking a greenhouse gas that is thousands of times more potent than carbon dioxide and getting rid of refrigerant is one of the most important things we can do to address climate change according to a leading climate solutions organization called drawdown. which is why Tim, and Gabe have come all the way to the gas station in middle of Nowhere Illinois to meet a man in a red jeep renegade named Geoffrey. Geoffrey. Geoffrey is standing next to a two foot tall canister refrigerant that people might recognize by its common name Freon. Jim In fact recognizes the brand name Dupont igloo. So what does this is? igloo Freon twelve. So where did you What did you find the material? Jeffrey says a friend gave it to him years ago Kim asks him if he was in the Business Jeffrey no but my friend was he said he got the refrigerant because he figured maybe he'd use it in the systems of antique cars that he was thinking about rebuilding, but he never got around to it. Nineteen years. Business on shelf shop. How did you hear US oft up on my facebook one day At this out of the blue, a facebook ad popped up that said, we pay good money for old refrigerant Jeffrey. I have some of that answered the Ad, and now here we are Tim and Gabe take a sample from Geoffrey. They do a couple of calculations where they add up the weight of all the refrigerant and have Geoffrey signs informs you're signing here that your. This is your material. Now you're handing over to us. You're also a test saying that it was sourced within the United States and not the US government or a native American tribe. Correct correct. Okay. And then gables out a wad of bills and starts flowing them one by one into Jeffrey's hand. Material. So. Shop. The Money. Except for the signing of the receipt and everything, it feels almost like a drug deal cash transaction in this dusty remote middle of nowhere. Tim wouldn't tell US exactly how much changed hands but he said it was in the low hundreds and yet this is Tim Gabes legitimate business. Their company is called trade water and they make pickups like this of all sizes from a one pound can the size of a spray paint bottle tweet forty, thousand pound job they did a while back where they vacuumed the refrigerant out of an old industrial cooling system after a bit of Chitchat Tim and Gabe wrap up with Geoffrey Geoffrey tells them. If he hears anyone else with spare refrigerants, he'll send them their way. Right on. Jeffrey how is that? That was painless was. Is If you find anymore you know where to call welcome you John Here In Europe somebody's got one of the. Transaction. Takes care. Did you hear that Tim just said we'll take good care of it for you. Yeah. Well, me and my how to Save Planet Co host we're listening in on this deal. Of course, we're on facetime with them and my co host name is Hannah Elizabeth Johnson. She's a scientist and she and I asked him and Gabe about that particular comment and you said we'll take good care of this for you. Because you you aren't GonNa take good care of it. You'RE GONNA destroyed. Exactly. Probably not We, don't really. We don't really talk about that very much. Yeah. They transfer all the gas from the little tank they collect into a huge tank that looks kind of like a missile and then they drive that missile looking tank to a fancy destruction facility. Essentially, an incinerator permited hazardous waste. Rotary, King Incinerator. So you burn it we burn you burn. Your like setting it on fire and we are. Do you see gas in flames? Is that what it looks like? We don't generally watch it being burned. View, it's see to their view window flame. Yeah. A big bright flame incinerating refrigerants at this special facility actually neutralizes most of the dangerous stuff ninety, nine, point, nine, nine percent of the bad stuff doesn't go out into the atmosphere time bomb diffused, which if you're trying to address global warming, this is a fantastic thing right after all this is Tim and Gabes mission. So, why don't they tell their customers about it? Well Gabe says, their customers aren't always on board with that mission. In fact, a lot of them don't even believe global warming is real. This is A. Farce that's been pulled by the EPA or a U.. N. and so people will hang up and say I'm not going to sell to you. I'm GonNa find someone else who's GonNa use this the way it was meant to be used. Now some people are really attached to their to their refrigerant. So now generally. Advertised we're gonNA destroy because we just never know somebody that will make people uninterested in the deal. That's interesting because it seems like. Is My co host I oughta it's all over your website, right? Like your website makes it pretty clear why you're doing this and if people are finding you through facebook ads they. Already know are you on the trade water website? Yeah. So. When we do these transactions, we actually use a different name doing business. Call refrigerant finders. Go to refrigerant finders website. You will see a different framing of what we do. The homepage of the treated water website has the words reducing the world's carbon footprint in big letters huge font over background of leafy Green Fernley. The refrigerant find a website there no leaves there's no mention of climate change. It just says we buy your old refrigerant and has pictures of men in work boots carrying around rest canisters.

And the the story was delivered with police say start talking about the clowns. And these guys were in clown makeup and wearing oversized clown shoes. And then the anchor could not keep it going. And police said authorities said that the oversized clown shoes did not affect the driving in infraction. Just oversized clown shoes, you can throw them at any conversation. It'll brighten your day it really imagine Jerry Nadler walking in for what they're going to be doing now in the next probably next hour so voting in the house of Representative. Is that William bar? The attorney general's in contempt of court what if they all had to wear clown shoes. Would lighten the mood. See on TV just just the other day. There was a a rodeo clown or something in setting the screen. There was a personnel clown wearing a lot of clown makeup. And it said on the Chiron of the bottom of the screen. You know, CLYDE Fernley clown like couldn't tell. Swag horrible makeup explosion at I. Right. If you're gonna get Uber or lift today, which for many new generations.

"He's two hundred today. He's one ninety at training camp with dumb mccown soup coming around the edge, Aaron Donald come from another side. If filer all hitting him all at one time door -bility is a concern of mine. Should that should not be concerned about that? Oh hook. I mean. I think this is there's no history looking say Russell Wilson and Fernley mostly Wilson in terms of height dissimilar Russell's obviously, tolerant he's bigger. But for the most part Russell Wilson went through three years at North Carolina. Staying went through west kansin. He showed our ability to offer his college career. We've only seen Colorado at one year. I think certainly their abilities got to be a concern for you. When you look at this player as it moves forward. I think there's no down and some of these hits he's gotta take. And where he's going to get pressure from it's got to look for him. And I think that's going to be the concern. Now, he's got to have to be in shotgun pretty much most of the time, which is gonna limit teams running games at his best skills that when he gets out of that pocket and he runs around and he's gonna take some hits. You gotta be careful what he does take in terms of hits. Michael Borneo, the athlete joining us former general manager of the Cleveland Browns and raider executive, Mike. So when you look at this in in we're just on kinda Mary. Minute. When you talk about somebody taking him in the top half of the draft. They certainly got to have a bunch of things around him. Is this one of those situations where you're kind of putting your career on the line with this? I think you are. I mean. Folks now. I kind of at the top of the first round of they'll first pick overall. You know, he's really he's doubling down on his career. I think you know, he's the kind of things which was opposed to as you want some fun of history. You don't want to be the the guy the trendsetter that guy that breaks the bowl. I mean, we've had football full time at allies, and there's been nobody at this height. And this way that has established him one softened chips. It's just hopping and so you're on a trailblazing track. And if you think he can do it God bless, but there's no prerequisite that so that he can do it said you've got to be a little bit concerned. I respect this town, and I'm not a height stop because we've seen great players. Whether it's Donald be short. We've seen great players. But we haven't seen great quarterbacks point at this height with this way, and then able to place teen eighteen nights. Mike Lombardi joining us on Keyshawn l z and Travis and let's say that it is the cardinals. Let's say they do want to be the trend center. What does that mean for Josh Rosen? What's the market for him throughout the rest of the NFL? When we saw the one season that he did plays on a bad team with a bad line and was getting his head knocked around. You know, eleven touchdowns fourteen interceptions job a six under average under six yards. Not good. You know, the offense from skiing standpoint, wasn't good young line was a disaster. Know Dennis Ross, the one thing I do know about the NFL the NFL is like buying a car. What statement once you draft them leave the showroom the cost goes way down. And I think that's what happens to Josh Rosen. He's gone way down. And you gotta feel like can you rehabilitate this career could you get them going last year? They traded a three and a five about five spots the raiders to get them. They share. I don't think that market's going to be very strong for him. Because people are looking at sixteen and say. Really didn't do enough to give up a high draft pick for. Mike Lombardi of the athlete. Former Browns gentlemen and raiders executive, Mike. Appreciate you coming on this morning. Thanks so much. I'm Mike you, sir. Don't stay away too long. Quick quick quick draw. All right. Dave Roberts, finally said what at least some of us have been thinking. And it's not good news. We'll tell you what it is next..

I said, oh, so you guys are getting rid of plastic bags. Apparently, you're gonna be getting rid of customers like me as well. And and she was very EKO minded. And she said, well, I think this is a good thing. This is a really good thing for the environment night went through. And I explain how produce and chicken and all that good stuff. And she's like, well, you can just wash your bags. I'm like, I'm not gonna do laundry. Every time I wanna go to the grocery sleds, also nutty, Google Fernley. Right. Energy for that. Thank you. "Right. Can you set up what it was like to have that happen was that sort of something you were happy about are baffled by and then how the big lebowski made? You look at that whole dynamic little different. I think it was by design because I really really spoke. I think a lot of it was my family heritage goes back to the teen. Hundreds and a grim. Father Kenny on not sure how many generations removed was a surgeon at the battle of sandy sinto. He was later the Texas State surgeon and also the sparks is are in deep, and it's was my mom side. That just totally took me out of where I was going to go with the western game. Another thing I'm gonna share with you got when I was doing these Falstaff beer commercials. I was over in Fernley Nevada doing these spots with another actor named Mike Whitney who's now did but a guy came up to me. Wrangler was sitting in the saddle guy came and put his hand on my. And he said are you Nelson? How they said this is a long time ago. I said, yes, sir. Should I let your debt? In went on from there. He knew you're dead. And that was. That was a special moment because he made he said saying the made you think about your dad definitely than you connected at all it just like my dad. Djamil? No that wasn't the dumb shit that he thought it was to be an actor. Anyway, the western thing. Yeah. It it really worked at always love dune love being outdoors. I love the fact that the outdoors was a primary character in the western genre. I love the mimic gravitated toward those the horses. Let the whole thing. And I love the implicity of the form. There wasn't a lot of gray area. It was black and white. But I did get to a point where I thought my ever going to get out of this thing where kids it was what I was doing. And it was down in New Mexico was New Mexico teases. I'm sure it was New Mexico on a John Milius film. And I got a script down there. This was a picture. The ref writers for TNT. Playing like a supporting role, but it was got was one of my favorite roles. John buford. Who is a officer. The northern forces. So anyway, I get the script in from the Coen brothers. And it can't wait to get off the set delivered to mid to set. Can't wait to go read it finally, it's going to be something else other than this western thing. 'cause it's it's a Coen brothers. Moves. Gotta be some crazy character westerns, right? I look at the script. And I it's a description. There's a song tumbling tumbleweeds playing in the background this kind of southwest accent sounding not unlike Sam Elliott. On the page description when he shows up, you know, dressed as drugstore cowboy looking not unlike Sam. I never going to get out of this. I remember going to the ship. The next day in talking to John who will new the cones. I said, what do you think minutes is not much apartment? So what do you mean? What do I think many? Gotta do it not doing right. Anyway, I went and did it and that led to the contender. I'm gonna definitely want ask you about that. But before we get there. I mean. Did sell that encounter short? Didn't. They know. Well, just I mean, that's a character that for many people's comes right to mind when they care the name Sam, Elliot among others. But sitting there at the bar with his bare chatting with the dude and among other things just obviously at first there's this feeling like here, we go again. But on the other end is that the moment where you kinda learn to just embrace it because it's there, and you can have some fun with been working for the brotherhood event. Right. And yet one with it, bro. I watched Jeff career from long before Riquet to California. Contemporaries, and you know, when he was working on CNN with his brother dead show. Jeff was great from the get-go Hannah fuckers that guy so good. So young Bank. Always good always attracted and have a chance to get to know him. And everybody thinks we all know each other right in this town, but never cross Baz. Jeff Walker that bully now. And when you are working with him on a project that is..

"From Romain lettuce. What's for lunch today? My Slater not chocolate. On make sure things fine. Bring Tupperware full of just chunks. Well, you know, the upgrade I wanna make some of that's moving on its own. Is this supposed to be this is the next upgrade we're gonna do? I have maybe no exaggeration twelve different Tupperware styles of Tupperware in Tupperware drawer. It's just chaos. Madness. The tupperware. There's a tough headquarters Tupperware. We're like three blocks away from the Tupperware building down engineer road. There's Tupperware headquarters right down there at I don't know. I imagine people in their burping Tupperware things all day long. There's an actual there's a Tupperware building. I tell you on engineer wrote in front of our building here in the convoy district, formerly the current Mason mile of Delhi's, go down to engineer road and mercury and there's a big Tupperware edifice doner. I can just imagine what they're doing. They're all day doing stealing and unsealing Tupperware. They should also be careful of eating some chocolate to according to the efforts chocolate of saying is better looking at Bowers candies mode mode. Yankus is that he would say it, Mark your your of Scandinavian descent. You just need is and mo- DJ ES ks. I just say it's probably all the stuff people either the Christmas holidays. Here's the other thing in the middle of the government shutdown. Everybody's saying oh, people are losing their houses have been three weeks. It's terrible. And we find out the first check they're going to miss is going to be tomorrow. Now, I'm not advocating that pain on anybody. But isn't that backwards is this the first checks are tomorrow? And these reports have been like here's Bob Fernley and MRs Bob, and there's their puppy and look at how well we're gonna lose are not going to happen that fast. You could you could sit around twelve months and not get addicted. So it's just there's a lot going on here in the middle of this. They're saying now the pain really begins because the first checks are missed tomorrow and van the FDA says we're halting routine food inspections for all going to die while it's good because all day. Divest farmers and all the food companies. They've they've really been wanting to poison their customers, absolutely. Can step aside. So all the food companies can finally do what they've been wanting to poison everyone. That's true. That's exactly what I think we're up doing flying lessons and all that hidden at Chem trails button. Always up there. Just trying to think who can we get? Hey. Exactly where the nose using the last night. Am I guess slightly in cheek your that's Mike Slater coming up at noon miles him was there, Dan, Neuner technological? What do you have for us miles? You part of that operational exercise one o'clock at the border today. Doesn't say no, I don't think. So I hope not marinas article news article about the doomsday scenario if the shutdown drags on. I love the words here. Eight hundred thousand paycheck lists federal employees plunged into dire financial straits because we're visiting the first check tomorrow, which is all watched. But every single one of those were plunged into dire financial straits sort of imply intent. Yes, of course. Yes. Well, but Trump said all along it's the shutdown Schumer that Trump shutdown. What's driving Schumer and Pelosi nuts is they're not used to a president that they're pressuring who keeps saying bowel stick with it as long as you will let you whether you like that or not you gotta admit that's kind of refresh. Shing. Because normally there would be a compromise. Now, there'd be a conversation. Like, Kamala, Harris said a conversation conversation. And then we're we're done with the conversation. We want you to do it our way anyway. So. What percentage do you give camel Harris of winning the democrat nominee, just democrat? It's going to be pretty crowded. There's probably be a couple dozen running seventy five percent, but she's the right gender. She used the I I'm not sure if Hillary is gonna come back and say, wait a minute. This is my deal again get out of the way, that'd be fun to watch. But she also representivity to minority now, I do not I don't believe that he'll read all nice to know, she listens to the show as well. At any rate. Then Cory Booker Spartacus will probably be jumping in soon who am I forgetting their Bernie Sanders. Robert o Rourke. Hispanic guy, Robert o Rourke? Goza back that Robert Aurora Albert over Joe Biden dam was ill person gave me a number by the way. Number percents. I think she gets a chance or how much would she get how much how much chance do you give her out of point five percents that night? And again, Alexandria Cossio Cortes. I mean, there's another twenty twenty eight she can't be legally running for president because she's not avai jet. According to what's that document against the.

And then we get well, then we can talk cover story, which is the Mike Hawthorne feature entitled Mike Hawthorne. Britain's forgotten world champion. Provocative kind of cover line. Really ready? We've had people saying what do you mean forgotten? You know, we remember him like it was yesterday, and I can take that point. But I think sort of premise was the he's just not remembered in the same way as as as a clock or a moss. And yet he was Britain's first world champion and the stats don't necessarily stack up. But but we challenged pull Fernley to explain really why he deserves his place in the pantheon and Simon when he doesn't looking at individual races. "With this tradition of telling a winter's, go story in mind, let's begin with one said on Christmas Eve written by a m barrage in nineteen thirty one and it's called sh- me. No said Jackson with Derek, Tori smile. I'm sorry. I don't wanna upset your game. I should be doing that. Because you'll have plenty without me. But I'm not playing any games of hide and seek it was Christmas Eve, and we were a party of fourteen with just the proper leavening of youth. We had died. Well, it was a season for childish games. And we were all in the mood for playing them. All that is except Jackson when somebody suggested and seek there was rapturous and almost unanimous approval. His was the one dissident voice. It was not like Jackson to spoilsport or of us to do as others wanted. Somebody asked him if he were feeling seedy. No, he answered I feel perfectly fit. Thanks, but he added with a smile, which softened without retracting, the flat refusal. I'm not. Playing hide and seek why not someone asked he has evicted a moment before replying. I sometimes go instead of house where a girl was killed. She was playing hide and seek in the dark. She didn't know the house very well. There was a door that led to the servants' staircase when she was chased. She thought the door to a bedroom. She opened the door and jumped and landed at the bottom of the stairs. She broke her neck. Of course, we all look serious. Mrs Fernley said terrible. Were you there when it happened Jackson shook his head, sadly, no he said, but I was there when something else happened something worse? What could be worse than that? This was said Jackson, he hesitated for a moment. Then he said, I wonder if any of you have played a game called sme- it's much better than heightened seek. The name comes from. It's me, of course, perhaps you'd like to play it instead of hide-and-seek. Let me tell you the rules of the game. Every player is given a sheet of paper all the sheets except one are blank on the last sheet of paper is written sh me. Nobody knows who she me is except Schmidt himself or herself turn out the lights and she migos quietly out of the room in hides after time the others go off to search for sme-. But of course, they don't know who they're looking for when one player meets another. He challenges him by saying sh- me the other player answers. She me, and they continue searching, but the real she doesn't answer when someone challenges the second player stays quietly beside him presently. They will be discovered by a third player. He will challenge and received no answer. And he will join the first two this goes on until all the. Players are in the same place. The last one defines me has to pay four fit. It's a good noisy. Amusing game. In a big house often takes a long time for everyone.
