Seeing Randy pitch it was my first Kim Seen Griffey pitch or Griffey play pretty much right in the prime of his career to you like there aren't a lot of players in that entire era at better like ninety six through ninety nine seasons Griffin. Obviously Randy was good until he decided not to play anymore. crews tutor was traded in a guy getting traded. You know the big picture here for you might be seeing randy and Griffey but historically we think of that game as you know A whole anyway. We see that game as the game where you know cruise was with straight. I remember watching that game on TV. And I want to say and I don't remember the inning in. You seem to think it was. You know remember that it was Kinda early in the game like third fourth inning. Something like that. I don't have any clue what inning it was but I seem to remember like maybe his turned come to the plate was coming and like he was ready to be in the whole already beyond deck and then he turned around and walked back into the the clubhouse and watching the game. "At you know? I think people are sleeping on. Show adults Minor League teammate Brandon Marsh. I think that you know pending some playing time. Yes and putting them in the sleeper category. Because he's obviously not overtake trout. Joe Adele's show Adele. Justin Upton is is over there in left field and I think that Anaheim's excited about his prospects. I think you're really showed that he figured some things out in two thousand nineteen he was right in there for the MVP of the year. Zona Fall League this past season with three twenty eight batting average. He did that following a an even three hundred batting average and AA on the guys always been lauded for his F- lettuces. You know he's not just Contact guy he's had consistent walk rates over ten percent in each of his minor league stops. You know he's been able to elevate the ball a little bit more He's a eclipsed a thirty percent fly ball rate This past season which means that on his hard hits or finally going to be going over the fence and I tell you what I think we're going to be looking at a two eighty average with twenty home runs fifteen stolen bases and with that Left handed swing six foot. Four two fifteen. That reminds me of lots of Marlins Christian Yelich. Oh my okay. Wow So I love it. So this is you've got some strategy right. Everybody's looking at a Dow and you're saying look no one's GonNa pay for Marsh. Let's ahead this way. I love it. That is exactly what sleepers all about. I think Mars can really make some late. Pick drafters very happy about it. Beautiful great I mean as always. I love the homework is put in this. You're looking at fly ball rates. You're really going into the numbers and I think that's fantastic. So my sleeper. You mentioned Saint Louis is Dylan Carlson. I mean this I love this kid. He's a switch hitter who obliterated the technically Texas League last year it. He did it really young for the levels that he was playing at. You know he's he's pretty good from both sides of the plate or he's excellent for both sides of the plate. He's a little better from the left side of the plate which I think will help him his numbers last year. Twenty six home runs a two hundred batting average a nine fourteen. Ps There's a lot of opportunity in. He's got a win it. I mean there's the they have their outfield slots filled. But I think there's opportunity for him to win a spot out of spring training or if not definitely soon after and then just sprinkle in the intangibles I mean. The cardinals seem to have this. Pixie dust with outfield prospects. That just able to somehow develop these players and the system must be solid right. Yes and then the last piece is this kid is from elk. Grove California and it scenarios produced MO MLB players. Dustin Pedroia Rhys Hoskins Buck Martinez Fernando Vina. That's just to name a few so there's something about this kid that tells me go ahead and drafted him. He's GonNa do good. This guy's going to have a long Major League playoff career or issues. This guy's going to have a long major league baseball career and I think he's going to give you way more value than what you have to put down for him so do it and yeah plan with the cardinals. He will Have many seasons in the playoffs. You're right about that. We'll just said this was fun. We're GONNA do this All throughout the season. We'll take different. Perspectives we'll look at maybe deep dynasty leagues. Will we go? And maybe we'll take a look at the Caribbean or Central America. We'll also have an opportunity to share with listeners. A notes we actually. You actually go out. And you're seeing the games and I know you like to do your own scouting reports and I think what we're GONNA do for the stealing size. Listeners is really share that with them so what do you say you're GonNa do this again? Absolutely all right brother great job. This has been fun. It's been really good doing this with the end we'll talk to. Y'All soon always is Celia..

"Was young laver. Now we say that a little more times but it seems like all of the top stars Major League baseball have weighed in on the astros cheating scandal in yesterday. Lebron also chimed in as well about the punishment not being enough so Lebron tweeted this. Stay with me guys. It's a bit long listen. I know I don't play baseball but I am in sports and I know of someone cheated me out of winning the title and I found out about it. I WOULD BE BLEEPING IRATE. I mean like uncontrollable about what I could do. Listen here baseball. Commissioner listened to your players speaking today. About how disgusted mad hurt broken about this literally. The ball is in your court or should I say field and you need to fix this for the sake of Sports Hashtag. Just my thoughts coming from Sports Junkie. Regardless my own sport I play so Shannon. Do you like what Lebron said here. Tag Longest tag ever give. I do This is what set liberal the sets Lebron James Apart from any other historically great. We're talking about Pantheon. Great athletes give other than Ali is that he will speak his mind. Skip speaks on things that we've seen other athletes not even touch in even if it's in their excuse me even if if it's in their particular sport they give you. P P A PC bujar not Lebron and Lebron. You didn't even have to say I know it's not just sport. You're entitled to your opinion. You pay taxes in America out of two opinion this mainly we teamed up with another Dynamic Deal Madman and Robert that what it is skipping our revenues robin we like Steve Steve or the shadow job week. Close we close. Oh No more like more like Superman and lex luther signing I'll be okay because I wish reality star with a stay being the reality star but we know how that ended up. But that's neither here nor there talk about that another time. I think Lebron is forcing what a lot of other athletes are thinking. This is bigger than baseball. This is about cheating sports and I know you don't believe it's a big deal because signs dealings been going on since the implementation of baseball and it probably goes back one hundred Cincinnati. Red Stockings probably started playing the eighteen seventies. It's always been a bit here. The baseball yeah maybe the loan and but I think the advent of video is that what pushed it over the age and yeah I mean you can't take you you can i. If I'm not mistaken. Didn't they take back Lance Armstrong's seven Tour de France? Titles get back. The hard thing was giving it to the second place because he was open so with third fourth fifth sixth and seventh so they probably should have just vacated those seventy one. Nobody's getting it. That is true but in this situation skill Lebron James just boring opinion because I can just imagine and he said I'll be irate. Skip OUT OF SKILL UPSET ABOUT JACKSONVILLE. Beating us now. If I knew that stealing my signals I really have a problem with them being especially if they use video to do it now they re Mike Lip. Skip the reason why you see what they do. Not Skip on the sideline young guys covered him out because the guy who's reading reading their lips. Yeah so for me skip. I don't have a problem with Ron. He understands and he's like commission now. I don't really know what he wants to commission. Do not give this is totally. Be Double Jeopardy. I didn't like the fact that rob Manfred at of the reasons that he didn't punish it because the players association just imagine if somebody did a crime and justice the penal say. We're not going to punish him because he's going to peel. It all cares. Make them appealing. Make them appeal because Lebron get remember. What Donald Sterling Situation? The players start speaking out. They hurt him. Yeah they heard a commissioner when you get skipped a secretary guy one thing but when you start getting the faces of the Lee no matter what you think about Mitroff skipping. Not a whole lot of people know who might try. But he's the best baseball player. And you got these big name. Aaron Judge and you've got some of these other guys coming out saying how disappointed he's like man. You possibly stole a world series. You probably go my. Mvp used to all of that for me. Lebron James and same with a lot of athletes are thinking but he just has the courage to say a lot of things that historically great athletes other than Ali would never say. I will give you that but before I go into that. Allow me to get this off my chest once again. Lebron in the middle of this post drops an f-bomb an I don't get it because he's so much better than that and now he's on a roll. Where ALMOST EVERY POST GAME INTERVIEW? In almost every social media post he drops f-bomb. He's got an I promise school in Akron. That's great and we give them. I probably did not say that it's really necessary. It's just he's better than that. And when you have that school and you get a lot of credit for which he deserves. It's great but now you're sending this mixed message. You're their idle your their role model. And You keep dropping F bombs and. I'm sure the kids it. I promise you'll drop one at home and their parents. What do you do? Lebron green the need to swear. Did your parents were when you've grown up not much. I and I never did because they didn't my grandfather my mom 'cause my October about never even broke them up ended up across my mind. But you wouldn't wear on tweets no medals but there's level to our rate nece. How radar you? Then just okay I got. I'm with you. I'm not above using that language when I get irate but I don't do on this show and I don't do it on twitter. I don't do it on instagram. And neither do you and you don't do it in in company of people that you respect you. I'm doing an interview or something like that so I covered Michael Jordan Chicago and trust me off camera. Yeah you got all kinds off camera but when it was time as you know he sort of set the tone or he's GonNa go dressed to the nine. You're putting a towel. Then he's going to be because he got the fact that when you present yourself you better present the right side of yourself and and it made him a Lotta money because it was the right way but he knew a lot of people are going to look up to him especially kids. And you just can't do that. I never heard him cuss one time on camera. Not One time in a radio interview to this day. I've not heard that. Maybe I missed one somewhere. But now Lebron's honor roll. Okay so now I'm going to get back on my roll back to this to me. Lebron is now acting like he's the Commissioner of sports because he's gone all the way into the baseball lane and I always baseball fan. I don't know if he played baseball. I don't know the Yankees. Yeah he learned a Yankee and the cowboys he's all over the place. I think he's in cowboy favorites. He was the guy who wore a Yankee cap to a Cleveland. Indians playoff game in Cleveland. He did that is a long time ago but he did that. He also warned Emmett Smith Jersey down onto the sidelines before a browns cowboys. Game in Cleveland. I'm not sure about oil. I'm straying from the topic here. But that's better. So here's the point as I told you yesterday. I don't think Lebron knows enough about the history of baseball to be commenting and I think he went. He stepped slightly out of bounds here. Because I'm going to say it again. That it does have a one hundred and fifty year history of encouraging signs stealing. It was considered a sacred art to steal lines. So there's hypocrisy going on right now because the commissioner was stuck he's complicit in this because he knows the history of the game encouraged not cheating. That's called competing when you compete. You try to the case. Skip here encourage steroids. Because chick the Longbow. You argue already true. Now that there wasn't a long history of that baseball just suddenly sprang up in about nineteen ninety six like Barry. Well no no what happened with the the as we're headed the curve. They were in the eighties eighties eighties. In the Texas Rangers. A little nest going on weekends psycho went to the rainy day here. And then it just exploded right in the classic Curt Schilling Line was half of us are using steroids and half of us are thinking about it because after a while you know choice exactly right in front of what you saw. In Baseball's half of them were stealing video of a half started thinking about it again. I told you I've covered so many teams. Everybody was using the outfield cameras to try to decipher the signals. And it was then the responsibility of Pitcher and Catcher and bench coach on the other team. Keep changing the signs so we can you know sort of mix you up on the sidelines? Right yeah let's give the thing about it. You've already gone over the either the night before the day of the game. How you going to call the game? Certain situations runs on first run of the third. Who the lefty righty you get going through. All the skipping hard in the middle of the game let's swift this up. Everybody did everybody. Did we remember? There's this thing call second base and by the very nature of the game. It's flawed because when the other team gets a runner on second. He's looking right down the barrel at the catcher sides. He can see them just as well as its you see them. What did you always have to do with a runner on second? You have to switch up your side. They throw it stealing authority. But you know the commissioner said. He's punish guys if you throw out them. I'm saying do what Album bail out. No we got the video. Do What Albert Bell did Fernando Vina when Arab with the Indians being with the brewer. Remember this skip. This is what I do out to every time I get a chance. Why wow that's what I'm GONNA do? I get do that right there. I don't think that's actually called for that just for this topic. Where did that on waiting because convenient decide to rob Aaron judge? He stole that title for Him. Okay very few opportunities in a baseball game to do that. Will hear the you can slide into people at second base. You can go try to take their knees out from under an. I've always been shocked. That on the double play earned second especially by the second base and who is blind side. Can't shortstop can at least see it coming a lot of guys. Just run out the way got a lot of guys just hangs give again altitude as he turns the double play. He is a sitting duck. So if you can slide into him and try to take now they actually make you. Swipe the bag automatically assume that you would have they make you put your foot on. The bags will go get him. Well I give it up to. Lebron now runs all of sports right. They say Tuykov used to be up in the in dugout spikes my favorite is Hashtag. Just my thoughts coming from a Sports Junkie Regardless Sport. Play goal to go. He's trying it out go. "And. And then you got Bob Hamlyn. So Celtic comes out of the game time to pinch it form, you gave up three bombs the Sosa and for the brewers little National League ball. They're letting cheaters for for the pitcher a little bit new. I mean, it's June by nose, and and so right. But I mean new the the season anyway. Yes. Yes. The previous previous twenty some years. We're all in the American League central. So Bob Hamlyn gets in he walks, and then Fernando Vina does with Fernando Vina does to men on strikes swinging. Why don't you take the rest of the inning and kind of break down from a cubs? Yes, it's interesting because here, and I, you know, I don't know if I have any particular. Details but Scott service comes in. So I don't know. Why Santa Martinez came out of the game there? But but yeah. After the walk Bob Hamlyn, Scott service comes in and replays, the sandy Martinez at catcher this true. And that's in the middle of an inning, which is a little unusual because Kerry wood, no, no pitcher change would still in there. So not a double. Switch must have been must have been an injury of sort injury. I'm guessing I guess, I guess we can look in here a little deeper, but, but yeah, so Scott services in their catching now and Kerry Wood's strikes out for Nando Vena Jeff Cirillo than hits a single a bunt to two week third base. Yeah. Jeff. It's a weird wording of that. But but you got into it is what it means at a boy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Typical surreal ABS getting into one. Yeah. Right. Right. So now, we got basis loaded. Jeremy brunettes is up and he would. Yeah. As a little little trouble with the strike zone and on a full count, walk som walks in Iran, and that would be the end of the day for Kerry wood. Usually if you've walked someone with the bases loaded in the eighth inning. You know, what's funny is actually carry would given given this. I I would imagine he would have been probably taken out of the game much earlier than this in today's game. Yeah. Probably. Yeah. With the control he was having earlier. But then it did smooth out in the middle innings. It's kind of hard to know. But. They did. Yeah. The hook was a lot longer back at this point in history nineteen. Yeah. I mean, obviously the bullpen was important in ninety eight. But it's nothing like it is twenty years later today. No, I, you know, talking about pitch count because I remember they that's when pitch counts started to be talked about a little more. I mean prior prior to the late nineties. It wasn't really talked about it all, but then it started being talked about. But I remember threshold kind of being like one twenty whereas today like a hundred a hundreds of long day to thrash old. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So the, you know, big difference. And I and I remember reading seven Olin Ryan needs to pitch like throw like two hundred pitches in a game. So there's a lot different in the past. But so I don't know. I guess we didn't do any necessarily any math on pitch counts at this point. But I think. You know, K would was probably up there. He was with the amona strikeouts. In walks that he had he was definitely higher on the pitch count. So that leads to another John John appearance. No, remember, I already told you. He didn't particularly have a good season this season in nineteen ninety eight nineteen ninety nine you know, he was an all star go figure, you know. That's how the Bruce luck was back then developing players and John had a nice little career, but he comes into face, Terry Adams. And what is Terry Adams do get them to three one count? The brewers are down three to five right? Cubs are up five to three John works into three one and he walks so Hamlin's third brunettes the second. So another walk that brings us to a five four cubs lead. Dave Nielsen up against Terry Adams now Dave Nielsen ends up with only one oh so far grounds the second. So you get a force out but the run scores tie ballgame. The. Brewers of comeback bruise of comeback. Yeah. Baby. Yes. And that leaves marquees gruesome to clean the basis and he groans up. So through the top of the eighth inning. The brewers and cubs are no tied at five piece despite Sammy Sosa and all the steroids carrying them to five runs. A man all five of those are charged against Kerry wood, and I did see he pitched one hundred seventeen pitches. So you're right on the money game. You're right on the money. I thought seventeen Mark. So we go to the bottom of the eighth inning. This is a tight one fans. This is actually good game. I know it's been a half an hour episode is a little longer than normal stretch. But we enjoy kind of breaking into these box scores. I think it's time to see what happens as the Cubbies come up in the bottom of the eighth inning pretty interrupting thinning. So what you got Doug Jones. Doug Jones is coming out of the bullpen. His actually a pretty decent little reliever for the brewers for a number of years. I don't have his. That's right in front of me. But a very familiar name. Yes. Probably two million. Wanna you know, you don't wanna be thinking about middling relievers from that era very much, but Doug Jones came in ah pull him up rate here. It's pretty easy to do. He comes in. And and Henry Rodriguez is batting and hits a five all the center Jose, Hernandez hits a single to left. Yes. It's rate in between shortstop and third base right through that whole ground ball. And then Scott service who came in replace any Martinez. Mid inning before looks like a in and seeing I single is what it looks like. Single field shortstop third base. Whole now Doug Jones, I was selling them a bit short actually had a heck of a nice little career as a reliever nation say little career the dude had three hundred and three saves. So he was a legitimate reliever. Three point three career ERA at twenty one point four war. This Bruce staff and Bruce team in general from this year had a lot of pretty solid ball players on it. He would later get traded in the season. I believe Cleveland in nineteen ninety eight. So the brewers season wasn't going particularly. Well, he did finish with an ear a as the brewers reliever that you're a five point one seven. So it's not like he had a great season there. Maybe that's where my memories coming from on him. Not being particularly good. But a career three thirty area a guy that could get off the hook when he wriggled into one. Right. So you've got I third with Hernandez and surveys and that brings up Manny Alexander to face Doug Jones. What has? Fly ball deep left field. All that's needed for a sack FAI to to for Hernandez, tag up and score. And and there you go cubs. Pull pull ahead back into the lead there six to five and and I believe then terro Terrell Lowery ends up pinch hitting for Terry Adams next he strikes out swinging. But yes, Doug Jones sewer. They strike in the bottom of the eighth. They strike rate back and now it's six to five cubs. So all of that worked come back from five to two deficit. Yes, all of the walks Kerry wood gave up and Terry Adams followed with and the brewers are back down sixty five just kinda spills the season out a little bit. But it is still only the end of the bottom of the eighth cubs wreck up run on two hits. No heirs. We get to the ninth. And we have rod Beck coming on to get the save for the cubs. What do you know about rod Beck? Because they're whole lot there or what I don't know. Yeah. He he was there closer, and and a pretty solid one. He at this point. You know, he he was a he was a big guy. I remember that through hard. You know, he.

"Handed spot in the bullpen. So I would imagine that one of these guys, and he probably has the upper hand. Now, the fact that he's he's a guy who's got to be on your active roster probably as an upper hand to win one of their spots. But this is a a low risk high reward thing if it works out and you get all spring training to look at them. You're just if it doesn't work out you have to offer him back to his his other team. And maybe they don't want him. And you get to keep them in you can outright him to the minors. Anyway, more often than not though that team will claim them back. I know last year the giants Julian Fernandez a pitcher of note, another player, I can think they took in the past a Ohio villas. And I remember when the giants got a Ohio villas in the rule five. I believe they got him from the Toronto AA affiliate. Just like this guy. Travis Bergen when they claimed him. I remember thinking this is a huge fine because a Ohio villas who had some athleticism who had some speed was supposed to be like a super utility player. Never ended up a amounting to all that much. He was a guy who was the AA player of the year for the Blue Jays back in what two thousand five two thousand six so he did have some value for the giants. The other guy they took a nother outfielder. They've added a couple of outfielders here to their forty man roster in the last couple of weeks. Andrew Ferguson is the other one. Now, this guy he gives the giants and versatility in the outfield. He plays all three outfield positions, and he's an on base guy. Now, the reason the Barry Bonds highlight was relevant to me is I'm looking at this stuff. And we keep looking at, you know, Cameron Rupp we're seeing okay? Maybe he could be a match Muncie. Type. I know we're looking at four hundred we're trying to get hopeful. No move to small right is what we're hearing. So some of these moves, though, very very small very miniscule seemed like their moves that could eventually help the team or or we've got to table the expectations for the two thousand nine hundred and one of the to the thing about Andrew Ferguson. This is a guy who hits for some power. But it's not over the fence power. It's death to power. And so I'm I'm reading this yesterday. And I'm reading the sort of the scouting report on him. And he's the guy was. Had like eighty five doubles and three hundred and fifty minor league games. It's sound bad. It's a pretty good average. He's the guy who gets on base. A lot of three ninety three. Oh BP in the minors a to ninety seven batting average in the minors. That's pretty damn good. The gap the gap power is what we're looking at it. But it prompted me to say can we get some some like home run power kill. To kill us to get a home run power guy. Does it have to be after gaffe guy? Dave. Well, I'm looking at the O notable fool rule five draftees here. And there are two hall of famers that were rule five draftees and one was Roberto Clemente and the other one was hack Wilson. And then they have some other guys it's been a while is the point. But there's guys like Jose Bautista. Bobby Baena, Darrell Evans, I mean, Fernando Vina these guys nine to five Walter checks in on the cache creek text line says Ferguson can't field worth a damn. I gotta be honest with you. I've never seen the guy playing inning of baseball Walter if you've seen him play, and you've got to be a good enough book on. No he can't field worth a damn then great. But we know he's got versatility to play all three outfield positions. I believe he's on the roster because of his bat, I think the giants won a guy who's going to get on base. My ideas, probably near the top of the line of maybe as a number two hit or maybe he's a number five hitter. But guys who get on base ahead of RBI guys are a big deal. Well, you'll be seeing a rule five draftee when you go to Levi stadium this Sunday. Russell Wilson was a real five. Russell Wilson was a rule five guys. There you go. He made it to AA size AA in the in the minor leagues there. So no, I don't have a book as far as I've seen this guy. Play. All we've got an a real five. And look I think if you're if you're telling me you've seen any of these rule five guys play. You're fooling yourself. You know, what I mean like unless you've been down to see some of these teams in the minor league. You've been scouting these guys. This is a guy who has some talent. But was not good enough to make it to the big league roster. So he's now a member of your San Francisco Giants something to pay attention to and let's get to this. This might cruch statement from yesterday. He said this before the rule five draft happened. This is about seven thirty yesterday morning with Murph and MAC, and he says that the rule five draft is going to be telling and I agree with him. Here's what we've got to wall. We hear much statement. Here's what he was making of if the giants were to take two to three players in the rule five draft. And they did take two. Here's what it was going to mean to him. If you if you the judge playing two or three rule five guys, they're basically saying, you know, this is going to be a rebuild year because with a real five guys if you take them they have to be in the big leagues for year. And that means you're going to take a guy who's young who's good who has lots of promise not quite good enough to get protected on the forty man roster by organization, so you take a chance with these guys. Get active really active in that Demetre telltale sign is to where they're gonna go because I mean, basically, I'm waiting to see what they're gonna do which direction they're going to go. We're all kind of waiting to see today is is really a very significant day in that regard. So we'll find out what's happening by the end of the day. And we did they took two players Mike Fruchaud that was going to mean that this is a rebuild year. And I think I think that's something. We've got to accept the way. I look at this is I think the San Francisco Giants realized the situation that they've put far Hans Etienne. I think they're willing to be patient. And I think there may not be many big players. If any big players come into San Francisco this off season, if they do add a couple of players, and we're getting close to that forty man threshold to where they would have to make some decisions where they'd have to get some guys off. I think they're up to thirty eight. Now, if I've done this correctly, I believe there are thirty eight roster spots right now, which means they still could go add some depth. Now. They're probably looking towards a starting pitcher the probably looking towards adding more outfield depth, you still don't want to just go in with with multiple minor leaguers at your corner outfield spots and a center fielder in Stephen Duggar who is not established in the major leagues and it's coming off of a severe shoulder injury. So all stuff the giants have to be cognizant of also think about this. As far as versatility goes. Gorkhas Hernandez was the only giants outfielder last year to at one point play all three positions. You had no other outfielder on the roster last year play center left and right field. Besides Gorky Hernandez, which means coming into this year, not a single one on the roster. So you're relying on a lot of what if a lot of could be talent a lot of potential to fill out this outfield. But is. Far as fans are concerned. I think we may have to accept that the big move. This off season was not bringing in a big bat. It was bringing in four hundred eighty and much like a player on the field. This move off. The field is going to be determined based on whether or not this organization can get turned around under his tutelage from what I can garner right now, Madison Bumgarner probably staying put at least until mid season. And what may happen with Bumgarner? Is you're not getting a ton of frontline prospects. I think you've gotta look more towards the Paul Goldschmidt model, which is they used the guy in Paul Goldschmidt. Who is likely to not resign? And I'm not really sure what what to make of Madison Bumgarner future as to whether or not he would want to stay that all sorta remains to be seen. Who knows what happens if if Bruce Bochy is out, and maybe he doesn't wanna come back or or what happens with BUSTER Posey and Brandon Crawford and Brandon belt. I can't imagine Crawford. Imposing your on way out at all. But I just don't know that we have a book yet on on on what to feel about whether or not Madison Bumgarner wants to return to the San Francisco Giants. So I would imagine. He's staying put. For the time being. And maybe if you do have to trade amid season, you train them to try to fill multiple spots down the line rather than just getting one top blue chip prospect all stuff we can continue to talk about people are checking on the text line about about a both Madison. Bumgarner about the giants roster and people are also checking in about the oil, some NFL talk to as far as who may be the MVP in the NFL. So we'll talk a little homes. We'll talk some Philip rivers. And we'll take your and calls on the San Francisco Giants as we roll along on a Friday morning in the leadoff spot on the sports leader. NBR's.

But for the most part, when hitters are up there, they are going to hack Ian k v at worn star. Make sure I've pronounced that correctly. If the dodgers don't win the World Series this year to what team of the past would you compare their extended success winning their division, but coming up empty without a title year after year, no doubt about it. The Cleveland Indians of the ninety. One of the great teams of their era that no one's ever going to remember what was it? Nine thousand nine hundred five. They want one hundred and forty four in a strike shortened season. You know, they made it a ninety seven World Series and they lost a lead in the ninth inning. And one of losing that game seven, that was an unbelievable team hall of fame caliber players in guys, like Jim told me run that team. Roberto Alamar Omar Vizquel was on that team. Albert bell just crazy, great hitter and they didn't get a title. You talk about a forgotten team so much so that I forgot about him. I thought for sure your answer to that question was going to be the Braves of the same era. I know they want to World Series. They want one World Series, but they won what seventy five consecutive divisions and came out with just one title. I think a lot of people would consider that a disappointment, but you're right by the letter of the law e-ends question. You'd should go with the Indians of the nineties well-done. Jeff Riley at Jeff Riley, four. Finally BUSTER, this one from Cameron. Cunningham. Four says, hey, guys often in national sporting events. There are teams that are seen as good guys and others as bad guys does Manny? "Hey, guys, welcome back to view from the cheap seats. Our guest on the show, as we mentioned before is the great Steven Brody Stevens aka Brody Stevens, aka in giant 'push. You got it. One of our favorite people in comedy, like we've been bidding comedy with us guys for so long every time we see him when we're out feel good. We get deep, deep, deep into sportsman sky, play bass. Baseball for Zona state. He was close to Fernando Vinas closely. Shorn beard? Yeah. Did you have a good with you have a goatee back in the day? I think he did. Yeah. He had a mustache and a little go t years playing alongside a guy like Fernando Vina. Any diminutive fellow kind of l. to ask. Yeah, had quick hands. We called we. We had a Nintendo was because his hands are so quickly you were you playing alongside a guy like that saying, this guy's gonna make to the show. Have you weren't surprised, but he was our shortstop. He played shortstop, Zona state, and then he went to second base. And yeah, I mean, he was a great hitter. He was. He played great header. So you knew something was going to. He was going to go, and it was a little. He pushed it. He got in trouble went to Hawaii. He got sent home. He was defiant really? Yeah. Coach Brock sent him home, and then we, he had apologized to the team and explain like what the word defiant was. Definition of that. We didn't know what that was maybe ninety to look at. Look it up. Well, you know, he doesn't need to define much except his career, which was a fan zone estate, a factory for putting guys in in the MLB my right. Yeah, we had, I think overall, we've got like one hundred fifteen guys, which is like top three, I think, fly Florida's had taxes. Do that's d. one team, a d, one sports program that you played for you pitched or what did you play? I did pitch. Yeah, they recruited me recruited, walk on meaning that I didn't have to go through the the tryouts where I top siders and jeans. I didn't have to deal with those guys like every every guys like I could play well. So this is interesting because you know, we talk about the funnel. I mean, when we would sit down, we talked to, you know, coaches and the college level to Michael Kosta last week, like look every like the greatest guy you've ever seen in high school is like lucky to be like a recruited walk on at a d. one program. Yeah, essentially. Yeah, they I did you own your high school league? No, I was good. I wasn't like a stud. I was like a good player had good a good arm. I was dislike meant live now at alive arm. I was like a five hundred pitcher. I gave you innings, but there is something there, but I went to recede which wasn't known as say, a powerhouse. What was a powerhouse back in the day in southern California that's worth Chatsworth. Always having Noga par always had Camino. Those are like the top teams back then those are. Guys at Long Beach state, those are putting guys. Yeah, San Diego State. I may chats Cal State Fullerton. Exactly. Like we were seated was never instill, isn't known as a baseball school. I think there's like one guy that made the majors guy play another diamond backs. We're football school, but I was around all those guys and I also played American Legion and some some good I decided good are. Yeah, I saw coach, Jeff Pentland was the hitting coach fares, ONA state, and he saw pitch against Chatsworth ice-cool. And he said, like, have a good arm. He felt like I have a chance to Sommese Lawsom maybe you know something and I always and I just wanted to get out of the San Fernando Valley, right. And looking back on, it probably should have gone to Pierce college or valley college. But I I had, I think going to spring training, I went to go see the cubs and the angels era Tempe Mesa, Arizona, like an eighty six or whatever. And it was, I felt like, wow, I'm gonna come back here..

"Didn't know that this was a cover of a song. What do you knew it is the j. whose is this is grandpa railroad could out at that time where have a good time today on the show. This is a view from the cheap seats. We have the Sklar brothers and our good friend Brody Stevens. Yeah, yeah. Former pitcher, Arizona state played with Fernando Vina had a different facial hair configuration. You got it. Brody talks about life in the locker room getting recruited. We talk a lot about athletes and you know he didn't have the stuff of. He wasn't like AllState also even all city. You know, a lot of great players. Sony wanted saw his arm and said, you gotta live arm kid. You might be able to make the team, and I think it was a preferred walk on. We get into his whole story. It is fantastic. Arizona state, and his energy is just great. He friends with Chicago Cubs coaches, so he's got a lot of insight as to, and he is just a guy who loves to make that deep dive into sports. And then later on the show, we have a voicemail from Alan Arkin, believe it or not who Arkan he's mad at Randy for posting so many pictures, you know what architects suck it. He and I can have a whole thing right now. And I love that transformed by Bernie man in arkan- wants to crap all over it because we'll get that later in the show. But at the top. Of the show we gotta talk about. Probably the biggest story in the world is sports this past week, which is Serena Williams meltdown at the US open in the finals. Well, people are caught in a meltdown and like empires or now saying that they may boycott Kat her matches because they don't want an end. And then there's an Australian magazine that put a questionably racist cartoon or caricature of her on the actually they, they were going to run the car caricature. And then people gave them a lot of flack jumping on the racket, right? Jumping up and down there saying this kind of is a little bit racist whether you intended that or not just be aware of that the magazine double down and put it on the cover, Serena's, getting a lot of heat for that. Certainly in that moment, we can say, well, it's for people who don't know what happened. She was looking over into her coach's box. The coach like every coaching every coach is about this is like signs stealing in baseball. When runners on second base, they looking at the catcher. And they try and see what the pitches and then they signal to the batter what the bitch is going to be. That is a legal that is signed stealing. However, if you can do it and get away from it, that's why the catchers have to be craftier about what pitch they're going to throw in where it's going to be in the order and where they, you have to outsmart them. Now, every coach in every box is going to try and get their player to get in position better step up a little bit more do something. And that's exactly what Serena's coach was doing saying, like move up a little bit. Serena was looking in the box and took the coaching which you're not supposed to do, but I don't blame her really for doing it. She should've been warned. She kinda, they decided to take a point from her which is just a point, but it's still still saw tight match, and it was an issue. She got mad. She kinda got freaked out, slammed her racket down. We've done that. We've done that. We're not even in like down after she missed his shot. Right? She but she was clearly upset about that call herself at herself, and then she turned in the rage exploded. She took it out on the. Empire. She wouldn't stop on the empire. She kept going the, you owe me an apology and the empire. She called him a thief yet for stealing his point and that for stealing appoint from her and then and then she was docked to game..
