"Come back. Welcome back. It is time for a part of love, so Josh Duhamel for posting his girlfriend aurora Mari, his girlfriend of two years with a message in a bottle that said, will you marry me? How cute is that? So congratulations to them. Now you guys to show support his ex-wife Fergie tweeted posted a sweet message of congratulations with hearts. So we have to be real. Yes. Do we think she's really happy for him? Absolutely. Yeah, I think so. 'cause not all exes are bad excessive. Good guy. You're actually happy. Like, happy for you, but with an ex that you know as a fool? Right. Usually you not mad at him. You're worried for the girl. You're like, girl, good luck, honey. But they've been broken up a long time. So about a few years. Probably still friends. And they probably is very happy. And they co parent, so I feel like I've never heard anything bad about the two of them, and after their split like it seems like they're both from what I hear amazing people and they have a really great co parenting situation so it doesn't feel like there's anything toxic. She is, you know, allegedly Fergie is single. So is it harder to wish as well when you're still single? I think when you break up with someone naturally, it's always like, you want to be in a relationship first, kind of in the beginning. Right. But then after a few years, you're okay with that. You're kind of like, you know, I'm happy for you. And I'm going to keep it classy. Yes. I'm just genuinely don't care. What is we going on? Yeah. And I think sometimes when you're not in a relationship, someone in the back of your brain, if they're single as well, it's still kind of there. So once they're gone and in a relationship. For me to move on. I like that, okay. All right, I love our relationship.

Prince Andrew Is Still on the Lam to Avoid Being Served Papers

"If you're not keeping tabs on what's happening, let me fill you in on this endless idiot. So last month, Virginia Jeffrey files this federal civil lawsuit. We talked about it on the show against Prince Andrew. The guy she's accused of sexually abusing her a bunch of times when she was a minor. And various houses or residences that belonged to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. And now Andrew has done everything in his powers to not get served this lawsuit. And he just continues to evade process service. Are they not trying hard enough? Can't they just fly in on a fucking jetpack and come up with a better idea? How are you not getting this guy? Jesus. And now he's hiding out at his mom's country home and Scotland. She's dead. I mean, I've never seen a royal work this hard. This is a lot of work, but since we know he can't sweat because of his fictitious condition, I guess he must look very gallant doing this. But right after the news broke of Virginia's lawsuit. Andrew's ex-wife Fergie makes an appearance and says, let's get out of here. I'll go with you. And they throw a couple of bags in a truck and they spit out a speed out of town, they go to Queen Elizabeth's country castle, balmoral. Balmoral. A few weeks after that, it was reported that Andrew had left balmoral and was hiding out at royal lodge in Windsor. But he's back on the run again. This guy is always fled to the safety of his mother's balmoral estate in Scotland and he's doing it for a second time now. A second time in a month he's back to this guy moves around more than I do. And he's believed to have made this big man dash up north in an attempt, obviously, to avoid being humiliated of being physically served papers in Virginia Robert drew Frey up cape upcoming civil lawsuit against him. I guess he thinks he's too good for

"In that era where athletes in a lot of different things That basically worked out for me. And when i look back The baseball end of it. I picked myself a lot of science. I really had some really successful situations based especially winning volumes. And when i look back at it i really had a lot of fun. I was consistent. And i stayed healthy. Which was the number one aspect of playing the game staying healthy and able to pitch every fourth. What do we need to do in this country. To be able to create more ferguson jenkins to be able to create more elite baseball players. Coming out of this country we need another franchise in montreal. But we lost that franchise the expos. They need to get another team. I think toronto is is not bad. But what this pandemic down can't play at home. They're playing in florida. But once this i think is over i think someone needs so smart people people with a lot of money. They get another site in montreal. Build a stadium and get a franchise again. I think with the two organizations. I think a lot of canadians youngsters would probably cater more to baseball and hockey or basketball or soccer and that would really really enhance some more of these young canadian youngsters to play the game of baseball. What do you think it's going to be like when they unveiled a statue of in fund wrigley. It'll be the whole dramatic moment right where it's covered in a sheet and then you pull down. It comes already had friends telling me that they're going to be there. You know people that. I've met through my career We're gonna we're gonna be that we're gonna be there when is it is. I don't know what dates could be possibly opening day. Thousand twenty two outside. It'd be one of the streets. i'm not sure. See the ballpark surprise. Some by or streets wave. I like to be close to earning because we were roommates and billy wings and i were buddies or years phantom together a lot billionaire and fish. Somebody sits in front of you and a life like for example of you. Well they. They've asked me what pose i would like either a follow through or wind up situation. Can you see the bitter. The background of make something almost the middle of the lineup of the top of the white because my arm above my head of the other part is followed through the pitches already gone. So i'm not sure what pose gonna wanna use. They artists and i will probably come to a situation where it's going to be the pose at pose and at and i'm pretty sure they can put one of those together and being an artist and it's going to be at bronze. He's going to have a tough time putting a a follow through together but it but it law work. I think it's gonna. Would you have ever imagined that kids. <hes> in chatham would end up being in bronze as you say outside to feel ever in my wildest dream that i ever think there'd be a statue of side of a ballpark where basically most of my career's in chicago. For ten years. All day baseball. It'd be a bronze statue there in a home uniform because the other guys were in a home uniform to Which is white with blue blueprint. All i thought was playing in the nhl montreal canadians. Were were my my favorite chamber man and tron from michalis but Gene is euro changed my mind about hockey and it seemed to come rather easy because i worked at and then all of sudden scouts from other teams detroit pittsburgh were looking at me cleveland and the chicago cubs in fact but when i signed with the phillies i said maybe this is a the opportunity. Now it'd be professional athlete. Let's see if i have is going to carry me further on through the mire leaves. When did you realize you were good. At the age of seventeen when i the second year of being pitcher and then i started really winning. Bogging games in the chatham area fastball. Curveball was bad coffee. But i can throw the ball past people and then i found out that that was going to be the occupation. I was going to for many many years being pitcher. What about basketball. Tell me about the harlem globetrotters. Well that was a story in itself. Nineteen sixty seven. I just got through winning my first year. Twenty games and lou denardo was the promoter globetrotters and they had a downtown office on michigan avenue in chicago. E comes to the ballpark and it's late september. I just want my twentieth game and this gentleman walking through the. There's nobody in the ballpark or take batting practice. He's got three piece suit on briefcase and right away. I wanted to what with me. And he's waving at me. I'm in the outfield chang. It's my balls so finally. I motioned over and i went to the loan. To the left field the sidelines were dug out a little further down and walking towards the bullpen and walking further down. And he basically jenkins. I need to talk to you like that and i said okay i said how can i help you. I represent a harlem globetrotters. i'm wanting to find out. Are you going back to canada when it ceases. "Armory listen to helga. The armory conversations. Wherever you get podcasts. Let me ask you but playing in the sixties when you were playing for chicago and the phillies in the nineteen sixties. I mean racism was still a huge part of the game and there were times when you on the road and you weren't even able to stay in the same hotel as some of your other teammates. What do you remember about that time. Well that changed. I came up in sixty five the bill of rights fashion for the minor ladies in the big leagues. It wasn't that bad of thing that that were was a big problem. As maybe eating at restaurants certain cities maybe cincinnati. Maybe atlanta attack thing. But we got over that billion i- ernie and and george alban. We hung around together a lot. We used to eat together. Guys get used as certain cities restaurants. Go to so. We didn't change the batter london. Times maybe in the mornings we'd have room service but enact neutral beat around two two thirty prior to the game so it was always a restaurant to wanna do to fraternize and go to so but you felt comfortable. I never felt pressured in in a major lakes of viollis little different. I came up in on the southern league and then with knoxville. And and make a georgia and then when i played for little rock mcallen zehr along marcelin lopez which akito players color annemie cuban and american canadian and it was a little somewhat different on the road Stand certain hotels eating. I mean the picket sang. Was you enjoy playing. The game felt safe. Feel or when the game's over or we're going to eat what hotel which a so you don't stay with your place and that was the part of the game of as a canadian. How do you think those experiences shaped you. Oh jeez the first time it happened. I was in miami florida and you read about it in the paper and now you're exposed to. We couldn't go to miami. Beach stated sir. John hotel which was stop biscayne boulevard in a cuban neighbor. Cuban black neighbor them so and in the bus trips. We're always on a tramway bus and we had to go to saint petersburg or tampa or glad to florida. We had to give our bill money. Some of the white players got off. Got us whatever we have the and then they brought it back to the bus to us but it all changed. You know just part of i tell people just part of page of a book and the book totally rewritten. The book for you starts in chatham ontario and again. I mean the story of you picking up. Baseballs a fascinating one. How did you end up in that game rather than hockey well gene is your was the area scout end up scouting me and and then converting from a first baseman pitcher at a pretty good.

Yes they did an all star competition. What was that lake. My first all star game was an an online and he was a cheater in like third inning. When i relieved one marriage show. And i think it was pretty a pretty sure joe torre was the catcher timeout out called waller often came out of the dugout. Now i'm the pitcher on the mound and and and notorious those coming up to hit. Don't you all yes i know. But man and he says you want to start him off. I said well. That's right after basketball. And that's how all started. I had a lot of adrenaline that day years old. My first all star game so believe me. I was up for the challenge. How do you think the game has changed since then. The names of players that you're reciting and your own name me. These are people that we grew up listening to that we grew up thinking about. How's the game changed. Since then the horn teams the facilities. New ballparks equipment. I just think that it's a good thing for the game of baseball. What when i played there might be a player that might get a one or two year contract now. These contracts are ten twelve thirteen year contracts. They're locked in for the rest of their plan career but the to look back so many things. The number of players of of jay's there's no more mickey mantle vertical madden willie. Well a player that i would have loved to have faced our pool but the cardinals and now he's would be angels. He's at the end of his career. Oriented intercut six hundred home runs. You know homer hitters are always a challenge to get out if you make a mistake result. They win the battle and believe me. The battles are fun. Have you ever seen a performance. "That was a season when you went on to keep your string of twenty win seasons which is remarkable. When you think about it. I mean how do you understand that consistency. And that ability to pitch at that level over so many seasons to be consistent you have to work hard at and i try to stay in his boot-shaped possible training. At just the elapsed and opening day was first game against one of our nemesis. The shakes fables cardinals are division. So i was looking forward to. Leo already told me probably nine. Ten days prior jiang's on the opening day pitcher in chicago. So let's get prepared. This is what it's all about and you know who you're going to fix. Our and i knew my opponent was going to be. It's going to be. Bob kissed. And so i was prepared in that situation. How do you look back on those big mark moments in your career. I mean what is it like to go into the time machine and think about and here. Those moments i've kind of related some of the things to my kids. That i had a chance to face some of the best opponents in baseball in the sixties and seventies part of the eighties and not any of this opportunity was easy. You had to work at there was you know ullmark the add to do learning something new hitters. That are coming in the league. And the cardinals had had an older veteran ballclub was brought flood carver shannon so many guys that were established players and they knew me. I knew them so the battle was for me to try to win a bogging and by lineup was similarly we ron santo ernie banks but williams kissinger. Becker guys were veterans to so it was a veteran ballclub against another veteran club. Sorta win a ball game opening day. You had to have your act together. And when i look back at it i enjoyed to every part of the challenge. Because that's what baseball is all about. It's a challenge to start to start month the month or year to year. It's pretty lonely there on the mound. I mean you're part of a team but you it's on you in many ways. How did you deal with fire. The game mayo. Randy hundley and i have of a i think a study that we go over the hitters and hoping that things that we go over the end result is our game plans going to work and believe me. A lot of time to gain. Plans were successful because randy study and i. I didn't shake off a whole lot. And when i did i came right back to the second pitch. What was it like. The pitcher. yankee stadium allows standing. I couldn't wait. But i got traded to the texas rangers in seventy four. They burned all the flowers to have a next Black Panther. That was the one big thing killmonger did so, how are we going to get over that pothole Disney and Fergie? The guy in charge of the Marvel has not stated what they're doing yet if they have stated that there will be a Black Panther movie. That's fine. They're going to age. Cast Black Panther data, well, they that's one of the things they're they're toying with because they don't want to replace Chadwick Boseman because they think that would just make the fans super angry. Yeah wage to do something different and I guess so we're going to get their sister becomes a new black panther. They said that falls along the lines of something that happened in the comic for a character that wasn't created on a 2006 and in the whole thing. She became black panther for a little while, but it rejected her because of her jealousy of her brother at first so there was a whole point to her finally going to become black panther right and just by giving it to her. I think that kills that whole storyline that they did in the comics. Well, hey will just suck direct Michael B Jordan as killmonger and make him black panther. There's rumors that they were thinking about doing that too. I know I saw that one I'd be okay with it. I like Michael Jordan. He's always good in whatever he said.

"Look at the complete game didn't throw like 30 complete games in one season, something praying for that and look at the 21 seasons for the Cubs in a row. And the number five run Santo. I don't even want to tell you what Abdullah told me What Fergie in Santa would be to me on my cubs barometer. So to speak. Barometers of these two guys are huge fan favorites. If you grew up rooting for the Cubs, no matter how young or old you are, you know Fergie Jenkins and you know Ron Santo. You know, For years we looked for a starter that was as good as Fergie Jenkins. For years, we looked for a third baseman that was as good as Ron Santo. And these guys were absolutely terrific part of that. Now you're talking names that I can I remember and names that I can agree with. Yes, yes. Not some guy who had seven home runs in his in his best season. Alright. Can't make me coming. They're coming up. 29 complete games in 1970 for anyone but wasn't pitching for the Cubs. At that time. He had third complete game in 71 Unbelievable. You know the games? He pitched 325 innings that year. If my math is correct, coincidentally, Ferguson Jenkins debuted 55 years ago today. Wow in major league baseball. Legend. Yes, Legend legend and Ronnie was was fantastic. Nobody loved that team more than Ron Santo. Nobody and and it took forever to him for him to get into the Hall of fame, and he's rightfully in the Hall of Fame in his number, 10 Flies high above Wrigley, much like Fergie's number two, But Fergie has to share his number because Greg Maddux gets overly loved in this town because he left. Where was Greg Maddux on your list? Pragmatics was not did he? Not in your dimension Honorable mention again. He's in one of the best pitchers of all time. I'm looking for the greatest cubs of all time. Yes, he had the one Cy Young and he left Look at his postseason numbers with the Cubs. Fergie should not share the number. Fergie pitched 10 years in Chicago. Then he came back for a second stint to do right by the way Right now, we also need a collar's 20 and 40 for and you will win a $50 gift card..

How to Recognize and Avoid Common Thinking Traps - Part 2

"Do you remember the last time you went down the rabbit hole with worry tumbling down and down until it felt like all was hopeless and unfair? I do it's a situation. We all find ourselves in from time to time. Welcome back to savvy psychologist. I'm your host Dr J. Wu and every week I'll help you meet life. Challenges with evidence based research a sympathetic ear and zero judgment. Our brains are designed to look for problems and anticipate threats. We can't blame them for sometimes going overboard. But we can't talk about certain mental snares and patterns that our brains can get into so we can be better prepared to get out of those thinking traps in part one of this two part series. We talked about three unhelpful. But all too common patterns that our thoughts can fall into that included black and white thinking it which is where you see things as one way or the other with no shades of gray we also about jumping to conclusions where you convince yourself that something is true despite not having any evidence and of course the mental filter where you only look for evidence that supports your beliefs knowingly or not you can stop struggling and find balance if you learn to catch yourself when you start forgetting about middle grounds time traveling in mind reading or acting like an overzealous defense lawyer now today in part to. Let's look at three more common thinking traps that. Keep US hooked to the struggle. This trap number four emotional reasoning. I feel so embarrassed I must have made a fool of myself. My hands are shaking. My stomach is a nuts. I must be totally not ready for this conversation. I feel so blah about this project. It's probably not even worth pursuing. Our emotions are powerful guides. A sense of foreboding can warn us of danger. A burst of joy can reaffirm a relationship. And sadness can tell us where our spiritual priorities lie but sometimes we end up reading too much into emotions. Imbuing them with more meaning than they were supposed to convey for example. Just because you feel embarrassed doesn't mean you actually made a fool of yourself. We often judge ourselves more harshly than other STU stuttering a line in the wedding toast or making Conversational Faux. Pas with a stranger might send heat rushing to your cheeks that automatic response reflects your body's knee jerk reaction and not necessarily your brains careful consideration of the facts so just because you feel embarrassed doesn't mean you actually did something embarrassing. It's a similar story with other emotions and situations just because you don't feel excited about starting a new project at work doesn't mean it's not a one it's worth listening to your emotions as a hint to figure out what makes you hesitate. Perhaps there's some part of the project that isn't aligning with your values or maybe you've taken on too much work overall but dumb right off the whole opportunity yet. Your hearts lack of enthusiasm might not mean. The whole situation is a lost cause tried number. Five is catastrophe icing. It's the end of the world. The whole Party is ruined. I lost all chance at setting things right with this relationship. We've all had these types of thoughts. You accidentally hit reply all on an email. That was supposed to be one on one. You made an awkward comments in front of someone you were hoping to impress you had a messy breakup and you're worried that you burn bridges. This is what I mean by catastrophies. Being it's taking one bad moment and painting your whole world and future with stark colors. It's making an embarrassing or disappointing molehill into the Mount Everest a failure. Let's put things in perspective. Can you think of anyone else who experienced a less than glamorous moment and survived to tell the tale? How `bout beyond say other Mega Stars? In two thousand seven beyond say tripped and face planted while performing for a huge crowd in Orlando Katy. Perry got stuck on a giant cake and repeatedly failed to get up and had to be carried off stage. Fergie didn't get to use the bathroom before performance and let's just say the adrenaline probably didn't help her hold it while a huge crowd watched that strangely growing dark spots on her pants. Yikes what do you think was going on in these stars? Minds in those moments beyond say could've thoughts or that's it. I ruin my flawless reputation of elegance and Glamour. Fergie could have thought well. My career is ruined. It wouldn't be hard to think like that when thousands of people have washed you mess up but these ladies kept going today. There's still the super successful and admired icons. They've always been it. Turns out that tripping and slipping. We're not the only things they've done in public. They've also put out some hit songs. So when you get up on your own oops moments or heartbreaks a May help to zoom out and see other parts of the picture.

"Hunter. That is Whitney Houston singing. The Star spangled banner mazing documentary. They said that she went in she. Didn't rehearse sat all she her and she's just like no you guys would be able to keep upright and like okay nailed it. July classic. Let me say that right now. Who say can you see and this is the thing about? It is watching that documentary with and just seeing her complicated relationship with drugs made me quit smoking crack. It was the worst our my life while we took a break. I I got to look at the internal monologue thing a little. Yeah Yeah So. Basically everyone has some form of internal monologue. Some people do it like in full sentences and they're always speaking of. What do I think about this kind of thing about this? And other Kristen Wag because you learn from your parents who your parents raising you tell you like. This is what you do. So you kind of repeat those things you kind of. It's more learned behavior and some people have it but it's just more abstract. You know what I mean. They might look at that. Come and be like nice try. I love drug. Put the Food Down Truck Joan Crawford movie where she digs up Caveman and falls and comes to life. It's the Prequel to Encino man. That was just GonNa say I didn't phrase called Trog. Was that her last movie. Must have been one of the last and Joan Crawford plays a scientist who digs up caveman. She has to teach them how to love. And this world is too broken for someone like dog. I believe at the end of movie. Commit suicide or or say something you know. He's sacrifice he becomes the noble beast. Right now he's sacrificing themselves so that other ways. Yeah you love. I'M GONNA have to watch it one day. So everyone's very excited about inner monologues and the Star spangled banner. Because we're making America. Great again but Mega Mega Mega. And so I think the the worst there was a race for who had sang the the Star spangled banner. The worst between Was it Roseanne? Barr Roseanne Barr. Well she did it intentionally. Yes and or ye. And Fergie thought she didn't need to rehearse either what's so who had the last Who and what she going for here. It seems like at one point. "We can just make some ginger tea or vote in the soup, and that can help break the circular mind pattern by feeling our body feeling that expansion combining that with some deep breathing and taking pause shifting our mood in a different way. There's all these tools that we can actually utilize can look at food in a much more holistic way, we can look at our lifestyle. Supporting other parts of it, and we can really just feel better across the board. And again as they say it again when we feel really feel better. We're connected to ourselves. We tend to look better too. Which is sort of the ironic part of this. It does not to be so hard and arduous. We can actually feel more east and we get better results. Oh, that's absolutely true. Let me ask you this Kimberly. This is you know, it it is all about this perfectly imperfect life end. So what would you say is the biggest thing that you want people to know when working with this book? What is it that you want to be like the ultimate takeaway for them? Because I know that you know, you've had a big influence on a lot of really big names. You know, Reese, Witherspoon drew Barrymore and Ciller Fergie you've had so many people who have learned a lot about nutrition from the really approachable way that you present them. So if just for like us every day folks out here, what would be the really big takeaway, you want all of us to get from you can work because it's really different than your other books. Yes. And I will say that every client I've ever worked with some of my of the the newer clients. Now that you know, Jessica Alba and the Margot Robbie and all the people that are really in the spotlight. It is never just been nutrition. It is always been this approach, which is really cool to bring that out into the into the public space is the philosophy is the perspective shifting mentality. Right. So it's sitting with them talking with them doing Rakia and healing yoga and meditation. There's it's always been everything with my clients. It's never ever just been food..

And I love the idea of one hundred million dollars not because they need what am I going to one hundred million dollars like seriously run out of things to to buy it. You really don't even Li do. But it's just like I always want to be an example of what is possible. And if I could be like, I'm a life coach made one hundred million dollars to meet exact same reason. I can't imagine. Anything more fun. Yeah. Right. It's not because then I'll prove to my brother that I was worthy and most people. And then like when is enough enough is enough. You know, it's like, then you get this whole like backlash of why do you need so much money and all that sort of stuff? So that's other thing you gotta get point where you don't really care what other people think about your life. Are you at that place already? I'm real close. Not there. I'm real close.
