"McCall. Macaw. Macaw. Coming over from Chip Ganassi racing to be the crew chief. Matt Carl actually used to be a development driver for rauch back in the 2000s. Actually, I think practiced a car for Carl Edwards and the Xfinity series. So that's pretty cool. By the way, because of this show, our family does not even call them seagulls anymore. They are beach birds. The beach birds, it's excellent. Beach birds. That's great. So yeah, TJ majors actually went over to be the spotter for Keselowski. It was his spot at Team Penske and moving over with him. Sponsors with him too. Since August, I think. Yeah. I've interviewed majors, he's awesome. Yeah, he's cool guy. I've interviewed him as well. He's a good guy. And it would be interesting to see what they do together. Brian Wilson, not from The Beach Boys, I'm guessing, is the crew chief of the Wood Brothers number 21 Cup Series car for 2022 driven by Harrison Burton. Yeah, and that'll be big for them too. So a lot of these pieces are starting to come together for Harrison Burton. This is a huge opportunity. This is a car that has Penske affiliation, obviously. It's a car that Matt Benedetto almost won in several times the last couple of seasons. You've got a guy of Harrison Burton's talent level. You expect maybe he can get something done. That being said, it's his first opportunity in cup other than the one off he didn't forgotten brothers racing this past year. So you're looking at a steep learning curve, but his record. His record, the Xfinity series in three years a championship. 13 wins, 55 top 5s and 7 6 top tens. Yeah, and so you add that on top of the guy he has mentoring him, which is his father Jeff Burton, one of the most brilliant minds in NASCAR as far as the driver goes over the years. The Jeff Burton. I think he'll be in great shape. But it will be interesting to see how he does early on in the season as he gets acclimated to things. Yeah, what else we got over there to be Christy dot com? Well, we've got Jeremy donley has been named as the crew chief for tye Dylan that GMS racing in the Cup Series in the 94 team. So that's been announced. We now know who will be on the pit box there. He comes from Ganassi and he's also worked with Hendrick in the past. We've also got Noah Gregson is coming back to beard motor sports to attempt to run the 2022 Daytona 500. Of course, Gregson tried running the 500 with beard this past season. They missed out after having really good run, but in the qualifying races, got caught up in some stuff and did not quite make it. So he'll give it another shot this time around. Also, there's some 23 11 news. We've got 23 11 is expected to acquire the starcom racing charter, which originally had been rumored to be going to aspire. But now it looks like 23 11 has backdoored their way in and is working on taking that charter. On top of that, 23 11 is also announced that booty Barker will return as by the Wallace's crew chief this next season, Billy Scott has been brought in as the crew chief for Kurt Busch. And of course, they've also got Dave Rogers coming in to be part of the technical director team from Joe Gibbs Racing. So that's huge. Wow, for 23 11. I guess Michael Jordan wants to win some more. Yeah, it looks like it. We also had a couple of guys dip in their toes and other stuff. Josh berry, who's going to be running full-time Xfinity this season. Made his first start ever. Goodyear all American speedway and the battle of the stars. He took the victory. He saved his stuff all race long, kept his tires good for the end with 50 laps to go or so got into a heated battle with Chad, who used to play Dale junior in a movie, and now Josh Perry drives for Dale junior and took the lead away with about 43 laps to go and led the final 43 laps of the race. So got that victory. And Kyle Busch made his debut in the nitro Rallycross. I heard about that. And finished fourth, he made the finale and finished fourth Travis Pastrana won that thing. Of course. Wild horse pass. Good stuff. That's what jumps in everything, right? Yeah, it's got all sorts of jumpy jumps and Scott speed. I think broke his back last year in that, so it's not very good. Things can happen. It really careful. They need to add that to NASCAR. That'd be cool. Yeah, there are a few jumps in there. Right, not the broken back part, but the keep the back can tact, but the jumps. Ben Rhodes and Matt Crafton are returning to Thor sport racing. Got their two drivers in the championship four, and they're going to be back. Next year, despite, you know, Ben Rhodes savvy with the media. Yeah, definitely. I loved the Ben Rhodes stuff. I hope you actually liked it. That was great. They gave us something to talk about. It was bizarre. It was bizarre, but man, it was awesome. It was so fun. To see a guy who cares. You could tell, he was just happy. And you don't get to see raw, real emotion, and how these guys are away from the track very often. So it was cool to see that. Basically, the opposite of that crafting. Yeah, no kidding, and what's funny is time of Jessie who's a long time competitor in NASCAR and short track world. I was like, I don't know what you guys talking about. We see this every Tuesday night and he posted videos of Ben rose doing pretty much the same stuff at his house or somebody else. It was pretty funny. But yeah, so then also, Xfinity series, Josh Williams, who's been a staple at DGM racing in the last few years. A real workhorse driver, a blue collar guy that people really like. He's parting ways with dgm racing ahead of 2022. He has an announcement to make, not quite ready to make it. It should be coming in the next few weeks. But Josh Williams will be looking for we'll be in a new ride next season. Wow. All right, well, are.

"Got rid of it. How's he back? Well, thanks to Graham Benson and his YouTube channel and wherever else this play is. It looks very professional is probably on TV too. Forgive my naivete, I've never even heard of the guy. But anyway, he brought us Jimmy Johnson and an in depth interview, very professional, very cool. Yeah, Graham has actually had a few NASCAR drivers over the last few years. Kyle Busch. Dale junior as well. I think he's gotten some pretty good clips out of each driver or two of these talk to. Yeah. No, he knew his stuff. He did his research. That's for sure. Jimmy Johnson in depth interview and what we got out of it was some amazing stuff, major topics, one that had everybody talking rocky relationship with crew chief chat can house. I don't think we knew just how bad it was and how depressed Jimmy was in the later years. Yeah, I think it's interesting, and these are always the things that when you look back, you're like, wow, we got that bad. Right, tens or 7 time champions. How can it be that bad, but it was pretty eye opening. And it got so bad on the radio in some points, Jimmy's dad was questioning what you let him talk to you that way. And for those who have seen Shaq canals over the years, he's not afraid to do that. Right. I mean, it is interesting at some point you think that there's going to be trust there. This is the guy who's won your 7 championships behind the wheel. But at the same time, he's the guy who's won 6 or 7 championships from a top of the pit box as well. There's a lot of knowledge both ways there. He gave a tour of his I guess his warehouse or his storage area or man cave or whatever you want to call it. Well, I mean, he's got a bunch of trophies, fire suits, he had he's kind of a hoarder, actually. Hundreds of fire suits, something like 7 cup trophies. I mean, who does that? You.

"The same way is what Kozlowski and these guys are doing right now. But I would have to say, I think that Joey Logano would be a guy that I think would probably do something similar to this later in his career. He definitely seems like a guy who's very hands on with his foundation. A lot of these drivers have the foundation for tax reasons and they just let other people run it. He seems very integral in his foundation, so I could see that. Yeah, I agree with that, and he just always seems to have a respect for older antiques and just collecting things and he just feels like somebody who would be somebody who would slip into that ownership role at a race team very well, though. I don't think I've ever seen a mono car. So maybe I'm way off base here. But I just feel like he'd be a guy that would be decent it. Yeah. All right, so Toby Christie, onsite at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the big Roush Fenway Kozlowski announcement. Rubbing elbows with the major players of the sport and getting that first announcement here on the program. Thanks for the audio on that. Thanks for the insight. And up next for you is you're going to do the next gen testing at the same place. Charlotte Motor Speedway, 1.5 miles this time, not the road course. And that's going down for you. We're recording this Tuesday that's going down Wednesday for you. So we're going to have that to talk about on next week's show. Definitely Wednesday and Thursday by the way, it's a two day session. Oh wow. A lot of hours of testing from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. So a lot of testing going on. So I'm guessing you're not going to be like me and surgical strike it. No, so that's the thing you don't really know how you're going to be able to surgically strike this thing for a moment. I would find a way I'm sure you would. I was told we don't know when drivers will be available, but they will be bringing them in throughout the day. As they're able to be doing whatever we're talking to the press. And then I'm sure we'll have access to go film a few things and take pictures of things that are happening out there with new cars. So expect if that's the case that will be getting pretty good content on Twitter and Facebook from tobi Christie. All right, and get some audio for here for next week for the folks. Very cool. Up next, we've got Steve Phelps. He's the president of NASCAR. He's going to give us a state of the sport. And then later on, we're going to give you headlines of the week from Toby Kristi dot com. "Current partners who wore my partners at the time to justify making. And what do you think the great equalizer is just the fact there are so many unknowns or do you feel like you've got some people? You have some more fixed costs, but this car, that's one of the strengths. Fixed costs, not just a manufacturing, but also in development. That's a huge aspect of I think what everybody is interested in. And the technology reset is one. Okay, more than the shocking revelation from the audio itself. I am blown away that Brad even talked to you. Yeah, it's been kind of a running joke for years. It feels like he doesn't like me every time I've ever been in any kind of a media session around him. But to his credit, he was very outgoing very, very open with everyone as we were there, thank to solve for being there and taking time out, spent time before the announcement, hanging out in the media center talking to every one of us that were there. He was a class act in this whole thing. And that's good to misread it. I don't think there's really any I think we're fine. I think we're good. That's good. That's good. So beyond that, what else have we learned about the rauch Fenway? Kozlowski racing. This is going to be is it going to be just RFK? Is it just easier? I think we just say RFK. So yeah, it's much easier. But yeah, the other interesting thing is this is the exit plan for Jack Roush. So for years, he even mentioned during the announcement today that he's been hearing the question for about a decade now. What are you going to retire? What are you going to do? He says, he still got a hand on the baton. But this is his exit strategy to leave things in the hands of people that he feels are true racers and have the same vision as far as winning goes that he does. And in turn, this is a chance for him to move his organization back into the victory victory lane before he does walk away for good. So he's trying to solidify the future. That's very cool. So what's it like on campus? What's the place like? For Charlotte Motor Speedway? Oh, you were Charlotte I thought you were a Roush. Okay, never mind. No, no, it was all at Charlotte. They brought the car down to Charlotte more speedway. Oh, gotcha. Okay. Because it's going to be there tomorrow anyway. They didn't want to drive it a few miles again, right? No, certainly not. That would be a pain for everyone. Well, very cool. So we've got we still have Chris busher on the list. Is there any talk of Newman going part time or anything? So that was the thing. Rauch said early on when everything was kind of being announced that they would have a third car part time for Newman if that's what he wanted to do. Newman kind of said now I want to be full time. And so he was looking for full-time ride. Now he sounds like he's open to anything. Imagine that, I'm sure he didn't like the things that were out there at that point. But now it doesn't seem like rauch is open to give it a part time team to him. So now it's kind of a situation. And then Newman's also now saying that he doesn't think the next gen car is safe enough for us to be driving anyway. Of course. I'm sure you could kind of say that's part posturing. So if he doesn't get a ride, you can say, I chose not to because I don't think the car say for something like that. But it's interesting to see how things have kind of shifted and flowed. But the whole time through this off season, I've heard heavy rumors that brick ware racing has been talking to Ryan Newman. You know, obviously nothing's been signed, but Rick ware did admit when they announced the Stewart Haas racing alliance that they had talked to no, and they've also talked to Benedetto and several other free agents. So there is a chance Rick ware racing has a totally different driver lineup next season. It looks like they're going to run two cars, the 15 and the 51. Imagine Cody ware has to stay there because that's the boss's son. And if that's the case, that leaves one car. Is it Newman? Has it been a demo? Is it somebody else I don't know, but we'll have to see. One of the things I took away before the Roush Fenway Kozlowski media day thing was there was a picture of Brad and he tweeted something to the effect that he's been waiting his whole life to be sitting at a desk. Yeah. Yeah, and I don't think it was just sitting at the desk. I think it's spreading his whole life to be a Cup Series team owner. Oh, okay. You can kind of see he was laying the foundation of this for years when he was running his own truck series team, having success on the track. He mentioned today in the media session that even though he had success on track didn't have much success off of it with the team, as far as sponsorship and money, and all that was concerned. But now he feels like he understands how to make the car go fast, which is what he brings to the table. Roush has the long-standing legacy. And then the Fenway group has the dollars behind it. So I think all three of those together make a really potent three way combination here. You know what's funny? Some drivers that gravitate toward that role and they work for that role. And other drivers are like, I don't want anything to do with this sport after I'm done. Yeah, it is interesting. There are some guys that you can see, they love Willem that car around the track, but they don't want anything to do with the business dealings and all that other stuff. They just want to drive, and that's all they want to do. And I respect that. But there are people like Keselowski, Dale Earnhardt junior and some of these guys, Jeff Gordon, now with the role he's taking a hundred motor sports. There's some of these guys that just want to be involved for years to come and you also have to respect that as well. I think it's interesting. And it is fun to see the different the different thought processes. I don't know who the next wave of guys that are that are going to be feeling the same way is what Kozlowski and these guys are doing right now. But I would have to say, I think that Joey Logano would be a guy that I think would probably do something similar to this later in his career. He definitely seems like a guy who's very hands on with his foundation. A lot of these drivers have the foundation for tax reasons and they just let other people run it. He seems.
"fenway" Discussed on The Final Lap
"Hey, that's me. And yeah, things have been good, Kerry. How are you doing, man? Doing well, we are on a milestone show right here. Today, wow, this is so this is 700? No, it's 6.99. Why would I 700 be a milestone? I just figured, but yeah, I should have should have saw that coming. I just think 6.99 is a huge, massive milestone because you're almost at 700. That's true. It almost because 700, if you're at 6.9, you're going to get 700 before you quit. You can't not. Right. So, I mean, it's 6.99. It's an aggressive. Yeah, see? Now you're thinking the way Carrie Murphy thinks. I'm thinking the way a guy who does not like the Barton is o'clock, thinks I get it. Well, neither does some other guy. We're going to talk about that later on in the show. Okay, well, that's good. At least I'm reading something into it. I don't know if I'm correct or not, but as we alluded to in the intro before the intro and then the third intro. I'm not sure how many intros this show all of a sudden has. But at some point, we mentioned there's a new team, and we wish we had somebody there covering it and that happened to be you. Yes, I was on location for the Roush Fenway racing announcement, and now the rauch Fenway Kozlowski racing RFK RFK Robert F. Kennedy in silver. Yeah, well, chrome, I guess. But yes, chrome. Even the logo was chrome. Yeah, it was all chromed out. Okay, so let's go through the process because you know it's the off season. We've got plenty of time on our hands. How do they reach out to you to show up or did you apply to go there or how did that all work? Yeah, so the team PR will send out a mass email to everybody on their list and say, hey, we're having an announcement. We want RSVP and show up. That way, they kind of know who's going to be there. And so that's what you do. I never got that. Of course, I don't think I've gotten a single email from Roush Fenway, and since 2004, I don't know why. Well, that was the thing. I don't know what the deal was either. I had somehow worked my way off their list. I was on it several years ago. And somewhere in the changing of PR people over the last few years, I was knocked off of it. So I actually had to reach out to Davey. Siegel, who's been on the show several times. A little bit. We got the chain moving that way by finding out who it came from so that way I could reach out to that person directly and I'll take care of. So thank you, David. All right. Once again, he's doing better than you. He always comes through in the clutch. I'm telling you. I'm kind of still rethinking this whole thing. I mean, I would if I were you. I'm big on. The ironic thing is the time of the weakest of the three. So I'm the one who talks all the smack. Well, you've got the you've got the golden voice, though. That's what it's all about. I don't know about that. I just have longevity at this point. So all right, so you get the invite, you show up at Roush Fenway racing and as you are there, it turns into a new team. Yeah, it's a whole new team. A brand new world for rauch Jack Roush, Brad Keselowski, Steve Newark was there as well the president of rauch family Kozlowski racing. And yeah, so I think the I think it's a pretty cool look, the whole thing they did, they showed the new number 6 car font as well, which was kind of like an ode to the original Mark Martin font with the team, but they kind of gave it a little bit of a tile italicized slant. So now are they going with that green where was that just for the announcement or that is the team green? They brought Fenway, the Fenway group in that green has been with rauch since then. This look more neon than the other before green. Well, I think a lot of that was lighting in the area plus they had the neon lighting underneath the car. So it made it seem right neon green than it was. The old green was more like the green monster at Fenway, which makes sense. Well, that's what the car was in person. So a lot of the photos it comes out a little weird, especially when you have all that weird lighting going on around it. Oh, but it was the darker darker green. It totally looked fluorescent. Yeah, you're talking about the photo I took there of the whole side of the car. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. It was coming out weird, because all those neon lights everywhere. So it was kind of hard for the camera to adjust and figure out what was what, but it was actually a dark green. Now, is this the first time you've seen the next gen car up close? No. Actually, I was at a shop a few days before this checking out one of the team's new next gens. A team that I was at, I don't think they want me to disclose who they are. So I'll leave that alone. That's fine. But yeah, I was out there checking it out and it was awesome. The splitters are the thing I think is really interesting by looking at it. They were at the test at the Charlotte roval. That thing took a beating and these things are not very cheap. So I think it was like 2500, $3000 somewhere in there for the splitter on this thing, which is all carbon fiber, and that thing took a beating in that test session. So imagine that at Indianapolis? Oh my gosh, imagine if they hit the freaking the curbing, they got ripped apart. We're going to have to have the turtles on the show. Yeah. And so by the time you're listening to this, I'll probably be at Charlotte for the next gen test or it'll be over with that point. But we were going to mention that, but go ahead. Yeah, they're going to be testing out some new things on the next gen this time around. If you look at the picture that I posted of Kozlowski's next gen, which is the actual one, they'll be testing. The exhaust is actually further up on the side of the car than it has been to this point. You know, it's funny you mentioned that because that was like the first thing I noticed, and I was like, did they used it? Were they used to be that up that far or is that new? Or what's going on there? And the reason I thought of it is because the placement, it's going to be harder for drivers to cut other drivers tires down, isn't it? Yeah, no, definitely it will be..
"fenway" Discussed on The Bronx Pinstripes Show - Yankees MLB Podcast
"With your host. Andrew rotundi and scott ryan. Let's go what's up everybody. Welcome to the bronx pinstripe. Show recording Shortly after the wildcard game yankees lead in absolute. Egg at fenway park. I'd say the only good thing from the night scott was that ellison rigors managed to work the phrase landing strip into the broadcast three times. That's the only thing those could about wendy's trip. I didn't hear that lenny shrip- strip when you say landing strip it actually sounds like lanny strip target. It's hard to not say the shush in landing strip so are even that one harrison the broadcast. Okay well did you drink clearly. Had a drinking game. When alex rodriguez landing strip was your dow is your beautiful night. I did not drink. Although i don't think i could say that about both of us know i've been drinking. I've been drinking. I had my buddies over and Too so i had my friends. They came over. Two of them are red sox fans. I've been friends with them for many many years since college and the other The other guy that came over a big yankees fan from syracuse. Brian ackerman who listened to the podcast and Was my freshman year roommate in college. So we've we've all we've all loved each other and hate each other very much over the years and Today was a today was not a good day. Wasn't it wasn't good from the beginning. Garrett cole came out and do the thing that i was worried about the most was the control issues and that is exactly what jericho showed us from the very first inning. He had control problems. He couldn't there the ball over the plate. He he couldn't do the things that he wasn't do he could not control that strike zone and it was a problem. It was a problem and they teed off on him. that's what happened. i mean everyone was expecting. I'd not everyone. People who were expecting coal to be lights out. Did not watch him pitch over the last month. Like i think Someone on the if he's healthy we have. There's a big problem for a long time now. we're probably going to get. I think we're going to get some news. Maybe we've already gotten it Among twitter you know checking checking all the it doesn't matter other reporters We're gonna get give We're gonna get the the probably that garrett kohl's not one hundred percent excuse at some point this week regardless it does not excuse the performance Less hunter thought. But yeah. I mean for anyone who thought that he was gonna pitch seven shut. Earnings had not washington pitch for for a month and and so. I didn't think he was going to be this bad. I didn't think he wasn't going to get out of the third inning bad. But i knew it wasn't going to be lights out garrett cole and you're saying if he's healthy that's a bigger problem yeah but we have seen him not be the same pitcher. Since sticky stuff was taken out of the game now he is dominated in games. Fine yes but he hasn't been consistently dominated since the sticky stuff ban. He's had games where he's gotten hit hard. He's allowed seven home. Runs to the red sox at fenway park. The season seven. It's unacceptable for someone that they're paying thirty six million dollars to he supposed to be you pay him three hundred twenty four million dollars. Whatever the hell it is to pitch. Seven shot at fenway park. In a wildcard game you not pay him to get hit out in the third inning. Okay this game is going to stick with him. It's just is it's going to stick with him is entire yankees career. Don't wanna world series. This is how people are gonna remember garrett cole him mouthing to aaron boot he stuffed aaron boone in freaking box in houston will then aaron boone. I hope he's fired. I can't believe he's still not fired about fifteen minutes. After the game aaron booth pulse him. And what is gary. I'm out i'm out. He asks him yet. You're out dude. It's a one game playoff and you suck right now your out. I mean honestly at that point. I'm i'm giving aaron boone credit for him do the right move. He shouldn't have let him face denver's. I'm surprised that he did it. I'm surprised that he pulled him out of the game at that point but it was the right move because he was absolutely nothing and klay homes. Klay homes was the best yankee on the field tonight. People are going to say giancarlo stanton maybe run out of the box in the first inning. Giancarlo stanton how do you not know you didn't hit that ball. Five hundred feet karaoke. Who's the camera angle. stay on. got full by the camera right. He was watching it on the big board. Okay yeah okay. Let's all we all got home. So that one klay homes escapes the jam that coal left gets coupled double-play balls in his two innings of work tried to keep the yankees in the game. They couldn't they couldn't do it though the one inning that they had actual something go andrew. You'll never amount of winning. You're talking about the pitching it mattered. The yankees didn't do jack shit. They did nothing but it did. Against the revolted. Nothing another time. Hold on again. Another time against nathan evolved alex. Cora took nathan of all the outwith seventy-one pitches after a home. Run and a ground ball. That was misjudged by the field. Because stanton was the tying run fine nathan all had seventy one seventy one pitches the fact you know talking about how he was getting taken out Absolutely it was a gift. It was a gift to the yankees. Did something with kora kora should have burned for that. The yankees should have made core of burn for that and they couldn't do anything when it comes out we know win evolved comes out with seventy-one pitches after giving up one home run and a ground ball. You gotta make him. You gotta make fucking stupid for that. And if they do anything they did nothing. They let the boston bullpen. Come in the frank. Marco lookalike my my head. My head chin is to the side. Guy brazier come in and dominate them. That's what they did. That deal allowed boston bullpen to come in and dominate them. If they knocked out. Nathan evolved ua. Seventy-one pit knock them out area effectively. They knocked him out because alex made the decision to pull him which was crazy to me and they got the they what they needed to do. At that point they did nothing they did. Nothing the offense again again another year. You keep telling me that. I am off on this but this is another year or the yankees. Offense has failed them in the playoffs. Okay also they're starting pitcher. Didn't get out of the third inning fine but they scored one run. Yes i know that. But they're starting pitcher doesn't get out of the third inning so you're asking your bullpen to get seven innings of work which it it's just not. I'm expecting life out the out of the offense a little bit of life ride to give some lifestyle and hit a missile off. The wall and phil nevin sends aaron judge. I don't know what he's doing. If he sends them from the beginning maybe he's he's just sliding safe or you hold them up. And i know joey gallows up next which he's been awfully probably shouldn't be bannon cleanup. There's going to out the second third in second and third with two outs. Instead of just running out of the inning so once that happened effectively the team gave up. And we've seen this team crumble and give up four time after time after time the season. That's what they do. They're quitters their a team full of quitters with a couple of players on there. That aren't quitters but the couple of players aren't enough. Judge isn't enough stanton co. i actually think one a lot. More people over this season than than he had in his in his side before gardner always always had people on ios people. They're not enough to to. I will not tolerate quarters up. I will not tolerate brett gardner slander for as long as he's on this roster. I don't fuck of rosser next year. I wasn't slandering him. No i'm just saying in general. I'm not i'm not gonna tolerate.
Cole, Stanton lead Yankees past Red Sox 8-3, cut lead to 1

"I don't know if that's going to happen again, and I don't know if they're going to be able to keep him long term, reusing ID he's probably going to slide backwards, Steven Matz is probably a slider. I don't know if they have pitching prospects who I necessarily feel confident in stepping immediately into the rotation and being dominant. It is possible, this is the best of Blue Jays will ever be. I don't know, you know, I don't think so. I think the offense is only getting better. But the rays aren't going anywhere. The Red Sox aren't going anywhere. I think the Red Sox have a solid core and a good group of positional prospects. And they could use some long-term pitching fixes too. But put an offense like that in Fenway Park they're going to score a lot of runs they're going to win a lot of games. The 80s aren't going to go anywhere either. No matter how pessimistic you want to be about them. And the Orioles aren't even close to any of those four teams. So you are going to have this baked in in here and Orioles advantage the Red Sox have taken advantage and the Yankees haven't. And so now the ignorant Red Sox are just separated by a couple of games and everything hinges on this weekend series. I'm gonna go prediction, you know, I don't like doing this because I usually am pessimistic and I'm also usually wrong. I do think the 80s are gonna win two out of these three games. And they're gonna lose the fried in that game..

"Gallo double, glaber double. Huge hit, hit of the year. Geo infield single gets him home, 5 three. Gary Sanchez had come in for defense and caught a runner stealing in the top of the inning. And his two run Homer broke the game open and gave way to Chapman who, for my money using Chapman in that 9th inning was the smartest thing Aaron Boone has done in weeks. We all know Chapman pitches better in theory when he gets more work. You could not afford him not pitching Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday and then going into Friday with four consecutive days off in the game one of that Red Sox series. And he looks as good as these looked all year. Again against 7 8 9 in the Texas lineup, I understand..

"I mean, they could have been like one in 15 against the Red Sox. What are they 6 and ten? I think that's true. I mean, you know, not good, but they started the year Owen 7. Yep. So that would be a little 6 and three folks. And that 6 and three figure is an important number because that for me is the target down the stretch. It is. It's not easy. No, it's not, you know, I'm not. It's not a light. It's not a pillow of a landing. The eggiest didn't earn themselves cushion by winning Wednesday's game. They did what they absolutely had to do in order to put themselves in a position to take care of business realistically down the stretch, where they don't have to go 8 and one against the Red Sox Blue Jays and rays. They have to take every series. Or if they lose two out of three at Fenway, they have to, you know, get creative and take two out of three from the Jays and sweep the rays or sweep the js and take two from Tampa. It's not gonna be easy if they lose a series in Boston. But as of now, just take your deep breaths, 6 and threes the number. If they go 6 and three over the next 9, I think they make a playoff spot. And every time if they lose a heartbreaker on Friday, possible. It's always possible to lose often. If they lose a heartbreaker on Friday, keep that perspective because it's not over in my opinion until they can no longer go 6 and three. So, you know, lose a tough one, win 5 in a row, and you're perfectly on pace to do what you need to do. It's not going to be easy, but it is going to be plausible, which is what you get from a win like Wednesday..

'Dueling With Kings' Author Daniel Barbarisi on the Rise of Daily Fantasy Sports
"You know over the last few years daily fantasy sports has dominated the sport seen a couple years ago. You couldn't turn on the tv or radio without hearing the commercials. I even had to read them for the show but an amazing new book is taking us behind the scenes of this interesting world of daily fantasy sports. That book is dealing with kings and the writer is daniel. Barberie see who was the yankees beat writer for the wall street journal. And we're lucky to have daniel on the phone with us now daniel. Thanks for joining us. Grammy dan first off dealing with kings is an amazing eye-opening book. And as i said before you were already in the sports scene but it took another sportswriter to turn onto daily fantasy sports. So how'd that come about. It was pretty crazy. I mean i haven't really heard a daily fantasy sports at all until about april may of two thousand fifteen when i was covering the yankees upper wall street journal as you noted and Another spokesman reaction in the press. Box fenway park and under the sports writer essentially showed me fan duel and i was struck by three. Immediate reaction is the first one is well. this is really fun The second was how on earth does this legal and the third was I'm going to make a ton of money on this So i was right on the first two in that. It is a lot of fun as the game itself. The second is it is crazy legal at all on that struck me in the same way. It's a lot of other people and then third. I was definitely wrong about where i was going to. Suddenly get rich quick. Because i was a baseball writer and obviously i should be so good at this fantasy sports baseball thing. I and that. What Can Brad Keselowski Bring From Team Penske to Roush Fenway?
"Among the many changes for next season in nascar brand kozlowski moving from penske racing or team. Penske over to rows fenway and he talks about some of the other changes going on in the sport from perspective of today still change and it changes a reset as to whether that changes successful and reducing the cost of the sport. You know all these other competitive elements. I don't know by do no. It's a reset. And i know resets represent at this point in time that this has been a woman. Say how shosh screwy the media. But i i've tried to be respectful to other parties would be team pants and beyond to not be talking to too many people and expose things. We've been working on. So i imagine there'd be a lot of conversations now that today has happened brand kazlauskas have champion. He has won many races in the nascar cup series. What can he bring over that. He's learned team. Penske over to rash fenway in his new deal for twenty twenty two tremendous. I mean i think it just mostly a culture of excellence which is a very vague vague description in term. What it means a lot to me. It means not selling anything less than your best. And every facet of the operations of the company and whether that's competitive or or not You know there's a team of people and weighed all the polaroid the same direction

And you can't tell me that people who are trying to make a name for themselves in the nfl who already established in are trying to get that ring or trying to get that last playoff push. You know veteran at the end of his his career. You can't tell me that's not gonna cause some sort of friction especially when you have guys like coal beasley coming out and being adamantly against vaccines for whatever reason feeling the need to kind of push that agenda. We talk about all the time. How people are out there pushing their agendas for people to get vaccinated. Yeah i mean there's there's good to it. There's there's necessarily not good There's there's not really a good message when you're pushing people to not get it so yeah. I totally agree if if that is the case. You can't tell me that that's not greeting the locker room especially with the way the yankees have been playing this year that just adds another layer to that adds another like a cultural and personal layer to it that could be affecting the team both on and off the field so not out of the question at all. But i don't like. I said i don't know what else you want to say. We were pessimistic about heading into the series. This we weren't pessimistic. But we were not surprised. If if something of this magnitude would happen. Ended happened and now and now you know we're being viewed for having having a unsavory Reactions to it on twitter. It's perfectly reasonable.

"The predictability of the whole thing is insane. And that's why even if you are in a blame. Aaron boone guy and there are plenty of reasons to blame aaron boone for not playing the infield in second and third no outs for bringing in ground ball guy where they're basically just conceding a run to the red sox wounds that he wanted to get beaten by anything soft not sure what that man because he got beaten by dribbler shortstop and then a fly ball to right field pretty soft baseball game but there are i mean there are leads that are impossible blow and then there's the twenty twenty one yankees looking these leads in the eye and going let's blow it. We could blow it no hitter no hitter seven. Let's blow it as soon as the first run is scored as soon as the first run. Is gordon you know itself. And that's the problem though. They know it's over like so. Even if you're not to blame boone guy for the particulars of the eighth an obviously jonathan lazaga and chad green. The series have to do their jobs.
