Toronto Blue Jays to play majority of 2020 home games in New York

"Last night at the Ronald Bluejays, where a major league baseball team without a home in terms of playing home games at a stadium on Friday, they found out they're going to play majority. But for those who don't know about your stadium where they're going to play What can this state and really do, even though it's a minor league field, but a major league team's about to play on it. Well, guys, thanks for having me on and it's Ah, it's a thrilled to be hosting the Blue Jays. That's assailant field, and you know everybody in Buffalo kind of nose and in the minor league baseball circuit that Our ballpark in is the biggest and minor league baseball seating capacity wise. Back 1988. It was built to become a major league ballpark and You know, thanks to a kind of that ability, you know, we we've got the space and the infrastructure to do the best we can, and probably best that any minor league team to be ready for a major team coming in to take care of them. What kind of changes to the specs of that yard have to be made, if any, to be able to host a major league baseball game. Yeah. I mean, there's there's certainly Ah, few things overcome here in a short period of time, But you know, we're confident we can do it. But you know, some of the things lighting has been has been talked about. As ah, major obstacle, but we feel we're going to be able to do that with some plans. We're gonna have some portable lights brought in and ever bulbs changed out. As well to sew. The TV games will be have no problem saying in the game and you know, a little bit of the clubhouse is well, it's you've seen, you know, with the social distancing Fenway model. Everybody's kind of calling it. And having teams in the suites were considering that looking at all the different avenues in the ballpark where weaken socially distance players and him a good home. Keep him safe, but also give him a nice place. To be inside of ballpark alone will be certainly a little unique. But you know, it's a majorly style ballpark. It's our facilities. Fantastic, the actual game on the field. I won't miss a beat will be ready. Anthony spread that you know, the Buffalo Bison's Their home field is going to be the home for the Toronto Bluejays in Major league baseball. This 2020 joining Freddie Coleman and if it's Simmons on Freddy and Fitz Simmons on ESPN radio. I'm glad you mentioned exactly that. It's a pretty neat thing to have this. I know fans won't be able to be allowed into the stadium. But what does this really mean? For the city of Buffalo having it's around a Blue Jays, calling that city their home for 2020 I mean, it's it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. I think for all of us so we can come forward on this and host Ah Major league team here. I mean, we're the support we're getting from our local politicians. Byron Brown has been fantastic. Governor Cuomo has been a huge help in this old saying, Mark pulling cars are your county executive has Has really helped us. They've come and said Look any help you guys need We're here. We're helpful. Every one of our partners through this Even before we knew that they were coming. Everyone is excited about this. How can we help you help? What can we dio? You know, Buffalo, the city of good neighbors, and it is truly going toe. We're gonna show that everybody everyone's gonna pitch in. Everyone's going to do their part, and you know whenever that time comes, I know it's a little up in the air, exactly the first game that's going to be here. We're going to be ready and it's going to be really put Buffalo on the national map on the international map, too, because you know the J's are Canadians, the country's team. And I think everybody not just in buffalo, but in New York state is goingto see what What? Buffalo Khun D'oh. Anthony, What has this been like for you personally, You haven't been the GM there very long. You've been in the organisation for. The Mookie Betts decision could haunt the Boston Red Sox for a long time

"It didn't take very long for mookie bats. He didn't even suit up for the regular season game for the dodgers yet. He's got that tonight against the giants, and they signed him to a twelve year extension for three hundred sixty five million dollars, so he's twenty seven years of age. This is a lifetime deal in La. Certainly Senate notice to the rest of the National League. We mean business here. We're going to be competitive for a long time. On the flip side if you're a red sox fan, because it feels like this was the the Red Sox said. Hey, you know what or last year. Hey, we're going to regroup and try to come back with a vengeance here in a couple of years and there was thought that maybe mookie Betts would end up back with the red sox. At some point. He started his career there. beloved there, but the front. Office didn't commit to him financially. And now the deal's going to be a referendum on both of these franchises. We move forward. If vets delivers the dodgers win, they're gonNA look great in the Red Sox are going to be reminded of the one that got away for at least the next decade, but you never know about these big deals I would never want to sign a player for more than five years. I would just be nervous about that. Just playing the odds of you staying healthy you staying competitive of the cost that goes along with that athlete there. But. We see this with a lot of these baseball players. You sign him up if it's Mike Trout and if it's Bryce, Harper if it's Garrett Cole you want to lock them in, and also there's going to be a question. mookie Betts, no longer in that hitter, friendly fenway park fans in both cities are going to keep a close eye on mookie and his performance in La. He's going to be that at dodger stadium if you start to look at the numbers since twenty sixteen where mookie Betts ranks. "By Oakland and one three game sweep Indians, counting the nineteen ninety eight series, the Red Sox post season. Record in my lifetime stands at ten wins and twenty three losses. Before anyone scoffs at the idea that the red sox are a team of malign destiny. He or she should consider that statistic very closely. A run of ten and twenty three would not be unusual for second division club, but we are talking here about games played in the post season. Em- players among the best to wear the uniform they have included. Roger Clemens. Carly Stransky Carlton Fisk Jim Rice. Dwight Evans Tom Gordon and Pedro Martinez. The numbers are seriously out of whack. They do not compute. They are not as Mr. Spock would say logical. The citizens of red SOx nation don't worry about stuff like that. "This week, I'll be reading an essay written by Stephen King for the official program of the Nineteen Ninety Nine Major League Baseball All Star game. The title of this piece is fenway and the Great. White Wail. I've got a theory about Herman Melville's classic novel Moby Dick that you'll never come across in college lit text. I believe that Captain Ahab. The crazed neulander in charge of the P. Quad was doomed to spend his life chasing the white whale, because the red sox hadn't been invented yet. If they had been a hab could have issued the four deck and opted for the bleachers, instead peering through set of secondhand. Benach rather than spyglass and looking has red sox fans have looked all my life for a world series flag rippling proudly in the breeze. Melville's Captain Ahab only one leg Moby Dick bit off the other in an earlier encounter, the fenway faithful often feel like chewing off their own legs, or at least a few fingers in frustration. I know since the late fifties and early sixties, when such eccentric says pump see green played for the red sox. I have been one of them. We are with. The Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy calls red. SOx nation to send into the self-named royal rooters who cheered the socks in the first decade of the twentieth century. According to baseball historian, Frederick Leib, the head Royal Ruder was a saloon keeper who went by the name I love. This of nuff said. Mr Said and his followers usually showed up for game, six or eight sheets to the wind and fenway's come crop of bleacher creatures will testify is tradition continues to be upheld. Son Left fielders bullpen denizens loved the bleacher creatures. Hate them all have been showered impartially with beer insults in a rain of beach balls. Beer isn't sold in the stands at fenway, and this is probably wise. The idea of thirty thousand Captain Ahab in one place is scary enough. The idea of thirty thousand loaded captain Ahab in one place all bending their elbows as another game and other series, another white whale of a season goes slipping away. That's sort of horrifying, isn't it? Fans from other parts of the country, those who have read about the Red Sox Zeitgeist, but never actually experienced it. Let alone. Inside Washington's Name Change

"John How's it? Goin'? It's been a little bit busy. You might be having the busiest off season well, always busy right now to all the deck Prescott stuff, but but you pretty busy. It was on? July six and a couple of things happen. I told my wife said. I'm about to work in eighteen hours a day on July six. NFL. Opposite in what is going on, and it turns out. That was actually probably a pretty good day in hindsight. John covers the Washington DC based NFL TEAM FOR ESPN Since. We are talking about names I. Do feel it's necessary to point out your John Crime I- Amina climbs two different names not. Although I will say had some relatives. Years back did like genealogy, and at one point, it was kind real in Europe, so we could be related I. Just want to put that out there well. I do get mistaken for you. Know I think there's a similarity so. So back to the name at hand. John The Washington football team announced on Monday after much speculation many reports that they will be retiring their nickname and logo after completing review that began on July third. This has been a conversation for a very very long time, but the team's principal owner Daniel. Snyder has been on the record. Saying the team would never in all caps literally change its name, and then here we so before we get to why this happened. And what's GonNa Happen Next? I just want to ask you as a beat reporter. Did you ever think this day would come? Well. Let me let me step back from that pre. George Floyd, no, because in the past. We've had a deal with this topic many times over the years especially in the last seven. I think the rise of social media has kept it alive, but during that time the plan the strategy here for the reds for Washington was to write off the storm. Just weather the storm. Go go to reservations connect with native Americans and do something like that then when you saw the social unrest this year. You started to seep in your head like they're gonNA. Come after them again and I'll tell you when it really really thought they work to be about. Run at this time was. There was a stretch it about a week where George Preston Marshall, who original owner of the of Washington? And he named the team, and he moved the team from Boston, to Washington will statue was outside their old stadium are k. well. They removed the statue, not the team, but a company in DC that owns that land, so you tweet that out and I'd say. Say Ninety percent of the mentions after that on twitter, where about what about the what about the name? What about the name? The next day team says they're going to retire bobby? Mitchell's number only retired one of the number in their franchise history, so they tweet that out and I wrote a story. Put out there. What about the? What about the name? I've. There's just becoming way too much of everything. They did route this. If they put out a statement about George Floyd about black lives matter, it would always come back to their team name. It was to a level that I hadn't seen before. It does seem though at least from the outside that the true catalysts the thing that pushed this over the edge was the teams naming sponsor Fedex and Fedex asiyo. WHO's a minority owner coming out on the record against the name? Yes and I'm going to back up a couple of weeks before that because there some parallel timelines that led to I think this occurrence and one of which was Dan Snyder had reached out I was told by multiple that he had reached out to the League a few weeks before that, and had already started to engage in conversations with the NFL, Roger Goodell about a possible name change along that same time there's the group of eighty seven shareholders and investors were combined six hundred twenty billion dollars in the lead by investor advocacy groups, so they're the ones who targeted Fedex Habsi company Nike Bank of America. It wanders sponsors. If you don't sever your ties here, you know. That's what they want to sever their ties, and so that's what they're pushing. When Fed, ex came out with the statement. That's when when people I've talked to said. That's when they knew it was over. I WANNA to talk about those groups. All of the activists who've been working tirelessly on this for years, but I thought it might be helpful to break down why the name exists in the first place. Where does it come from? The name when it first. Started I guess or was mentioned throughout history was about refer to the color skin and there is. I've got her who worked for the Smithsonian magazine, went back and researched it and found that it was way that native Americans would refer to other to differentiate themselves from. Whites or blacks or whomever else was here, so they referred themselves the redskins than it seemed to segue into a negative connotation, which you know, you'd see posters or read about posters, offering rewards for bringing fifty dollars for bringing the scalp, redskin or bringing Redskin, in which meant the scalp, so it certainly segue into something. That was a negative connotation. So how did it come to be the name of this particular NFL franchise? That's a great question, so we go back to nineteen thirty two and for anybody listening I was not covering the team at that time so nineteen who? Shared a stadium with baseball's Boston braves, so they were called. The Boston braves the following year. They moved to Fenway Park with the Boston Red Sox, so the story that that no his come about from that is that they wanted some sort of. Alliteration with the Red Sox, and so they went with the Redskins, but they also had a coach Lone Star Dietz and several native American players on the roster, George Preston Marshall said he was naming it basically in part because they had a native American coach. Now there's controversy over long star deeds whether he was actually native American up, but that was the given explanation at that time.

"I'm buster only working for my home studio in Just north of New York City and Taylor. You know what I was doing this morning right. I have an inkling. The war continues against dead alliance this morning. A predawn raid fifty down and twenty minutes as had might say I went through the dandelions like crap went through a goose and feeling. Good about a Taylor did you. Did you count all fifty of them? Oh yeah you lay them out for body count. The I had a discussion about this with my neighbor yesterday competing with the best lawn in neighborhood he said you know. I started counting the Dandelions. Because you've been telling me that you've been counting on me. Said I stopped at three. I'm like what's the point of counting the Dandelions but for me it's you know manifestation of my work. That's how I'M KEEPING TRACK OF IT. I. I can't count at bats. I can't town innings. I can't tell looking for things to count and right. Now it's the Dandelions you should ask Tim Kirkman what scorebook uses and by one of them and then keep track John's book. I didn't even think about that. I'M GONNA keep Dandelions Oklahoma. You're right all right. It's appropriate conversation because today as we continue contributors week. We'll be talking with the head of grounds at Fenway Park. David Miller and I'll ask him about dandelions warfare. Also some stories about his time in his work in Paul indicators will jump in with a treetop on the latest news I some of those notes We heard from Baltimore's outfielder trae Mancini. Yesterday who revealed that he's recovering from Stage three colon cancer in doubts. He will play this season. If Major League Baseball returns the twenty eight year old made the announcement in his story he wrote for the Players Tribune. He will also speak later today with members of the media in Baltimore Major League Baseball's allowing teams to offer refunds to fans for games currently not being played because the corona virus pandemic previously games were considered postponed instead of canceled allowing teams to hold onto revenue generated from ticket sales. The pirates are suspending retirement benefits for members of the teams baseball operations staff in an effort to cope with the economic. Fallout of the pandemic general manager. Ben Harrington said Tuesday that the team has been searching for ways to find savings with the two thousand twenty season on hold. I heard about this. That owner Bob nutting has been looking for ways to save money and this is the route that they have chosen. Usa Today reported that appears the hall of Fame Ceremonies for two thousand twenty will be postponed the hall of Fame Board. We'll talk on Friday with an announcement likely to come. Friday perhaps Monday. One of the alternatives being considered is to just postpone the two thousand twenty ceremonies and fold them into two thousand twenty one by the way in the regular Writers voting. It looks like one candidate is likely to get in this winter former pitcher curt schilling and Bob Nightingale USA Today also reported on the three division format Major League. Baseball is considering. We'll get to that in a moment and before we get to David. Hembo a reminder that the F. e. p. pod presses on through the pandemic this week. Sbp AND STANFORD Steve Discuss. Dennis Rodman taking a midseason vacation to Vegas the Pistons. Not Shaking hands with the Bulls after losing plus Scott Yells at Stanford Stephen Big cat over. Ncwa fourteen. They talked to John. Salley Michael Wilbon Jackie. Macmullan find it wherever you get your podcast jumping into the numbers matthew evaluating millions. He's using data in the the Cincinnati by two hundred points. This is Hembo knows and AMMO. Is Paula McKee's researcher and ESPN? Who's a hot show in the show? get up. He says he's ahead hunt show. We have not confirmed that Hembo everytime at and we Bob Nightingale wrote a story of USA. Today about this. He dug more into the idea of three divisions. Possibly if baseball restarts and I feel like every time. One of these stories is published What is lost a context for no fault of the Writers Just because it's published it carries a weight that maybe doesn't necessarily have because they're talking about so many different plans in each has to be discussed. Each has to be vetted each has to be broken down each has to be explored. They're incredibly fragile because he's one executive said to me Yesterday if they restart baseball in one person gets infected. Then they have to shutdown like the UTAH. Jazz did back in March in the best comparison to me is a drowsy clerk. Win that drug. That was has been mentioned in the fight against the corona virus. It's one possible solution but they need to be studied. They need to be vetted they need to look at different elements of it and because it's one thing being discussed doesn't necessarily mean as we learned with the drugs a clerk win that it is actually a solution. What do you think we're so eager for solutions? And that's why we're so eager to jump at the possibility that baseball might return in whatever format soon as possible. But I think that you're right in saying that with no fault of the writers. A lot of these ideas are for lack of a better term pipedreams and we're so eager like they're almost being interpreted by the public as reporting and that's just not the case. I think if I were running Major League Baseball I would obviously be doing the same stuff in terms of outlining all the possible scenarios and. That's good I'd probably be a little bit more vigilant in ensuring that leaked I probably leaked a little bit less or at the very least provided information to the people I wanted to. That was a little bit more in the reasonable side and a and a little bit less on the really type side because a lot of these things that I read are just so And the question at least based on where the world is now that it seems to me sort of a waste of time. I think mainly League baseball should be focusing on a couple things here in particular the first how could we limit travel as much as we possibly can obviously the bubble city the hosts those hosts type cities format like that would be like a World Cup style round robin or whatever the case may be just past him. Get up today talking about that. I think is sort of foundation of something that could work. You obviously have to limit the travel. The second thing I would focus in on the the assumption the assumption that we're not going to play in front of fans. What we need to do is have a plan in place for whenever that does happen. Whenever we can't play games lord willing to we can to enhance that experience as much as possible. Buster everything's on the table. Something as wild as getting ballpark food delivered to you to your home while you're watching baseball game sometime in August should be on the table. If I were major league baseball those two things. The limiting of travel in the in the watching the game watching experience from your television should be the two things to be focused on all right. We've had a great parade of contributors on the PODCAST. So far this week that'll continue in a moment with David Miller. Who's ahead of grants or Fenway Park? On Friday. We will be talking with Janet. Marie Smith who of course was the person the architect who designed Camden yards. And I know Todd Radio. I feel the same way believed that she should be honored the hall of fame because that. Ballpark was a crossroad. I think in fan experience. What do you think dusty the best compliment that I can provide a new stadium that I visit for the first time is every reminds me of camden yards? There's so many things about it that you'll see across the league now in though it's only was built ninety two though it's less than thirty years old. Two thirds of the stadiums in the league had been replacing. There are a few things I'd like to point out just in my travels that I would say Remind me of Camden yards and in all cases. It's a good thing. Exterior brick facade is very similar citizens. Bank Park was the first thing that I thought when I went to my first phillies game in target In Minneapolis targets field both more has that beautiful skyline the way that field position to so perfect and strategic. That was my thought when I was sitting up in a four hundred level at target field. It reminds me of Camden yards. They had these open concourses. These stadiums for often very cramped in the concourse very challenging to maneuver camden yards gets footprint was huge. In relation to some of those older ballparks in reminds me a lot of great American and Suntrust Park in Atlanta and lastly I think the coolest thing about the stadium and I think a lot of people agree is the warehouse. The way that it's positioned it's an outline in relation to the field is so smart and obviously in San Diego. Petco has the warehouse in left field. That's built into it in a similar way. I think that's really cool that they were able to use the The building that was already in place to be a part of the ballpark experience and a half to say the warehouse is probably going to go down as one of the more conic things. That's ever been put in any ballpark because of the character streak like when you see the numbers changing on the warehouse as he does he approaches have been breaks Lou. Gehrig's that is an extraordinary thing bus there and you know to the genuity. Think of that. And then years down the road. It'd be able to be executed in that way. A truly brilliant thing that I don't think it'd be overstated now. I I agree. I'm really looking forward to that conversation and on Monday we're going to talk with Jeff Idelson former president of the hall of fame. We're GONNA get a lot of his stories and he's got a ton of them What's your take on on the in relation to hall of Fame Right Now? Well people ask me what my dream job is there and they usually say I would like to be the shortstop for the Phillies Given the fact that's probably Unrealistic they approach each season be hall of fame. President which is what he was formerly. Would be up there on that list. Field to play golf at those guys and to be you know fraternizing Like that is sort of like the dream for for for someone like me and for a lot of other baseball fans and I think I have. I have to give him. Credit Hall of fame receives a lot of criticism. And some of. It's fair for the way that the way that the last Inter fifteen years have gone specifically as it relates to the steroid users. But I think that's a good thing. Buster because when tells me that people care about the baseball hall of fame way more than all of the other ones and there's real value in that the stringent process for election and away in which voting goes is so much better and more controversial in baseball than any other sport and that's why the Baseball Hall of fame is infinitely better than any other sport and I think? I think you'd agree with me and saying this. Every baseball fan in every baseball writer should visit at least once because it does provide you a different perspective. I'm so tired of hearing the arguments. It's just a museum that is not the case. The Baseball Hall of fame is not just museum. It is part of the Baseball Hall of fame. But the busted a plaque room is holy ground and the way that I view the platform is very different. Pete Rose's represented and Baseball Hall of Fame Museum but he doesn't have a plaque the distinction. There is very important. It's something that you don't really feel unless you're in the building right. You and I are going to have an argument next week. Then 'cause I have always been a baseball museum and and that whole I mean when people use the word holy that's where they cross the line for me but you know what We hit on that next week. Thanks for example Looking forward to it. I'll bring my incident. David Meller ahead of grants for Fenway Park. He's also the author a book published last year. One base it at time. How do I how I survived? Ptsd and found my field of dreams. I in Dave. I was noticing on Amazon a bunch of reviews and pretty much all of them five stars like I've done a couple of books..

"I am loath to compete in almost any competition because as we have discussed on this program before Jordan you, and I have discussed I am very competitive. I hate losing. But when I win I feel bad for making everyone else lose. So there is no. So lose lose. It's lose lose. So my wife is much better ping pong than I and she in she really wanted. We have a cabinet in the southern Sierra isn't she really wanted to have a ping pong table there. And I was deeply ambivalent about this. Because I just all I could see was as soon as my children were old enough. They would be putting up round Robin brackets, and I would be roped into competing against them an either winning or losing both of which would make me feel bad. Yeah. Yeah. And even my own children might do have a solution, by the way, I was solution brewing. Okay. So we didn't have it's not a huge cabin. There wasn't a basement to put it in. I can't imagine playing in a cabin. So, but there was this cabin had a basement and the when you keep bonking into the Lincoln logs. That's part of it's like, you know, it's like a home field advantage thing. Green monster in Fenway park. Yeah. Yeah. You have to play around the woodstove, exactly. But the in the in our cabin. We do have it. There's a shed and this used to be the shed where the previous owner stored does ATV's, but we had been storing some garbage in their like are not not story long-term while we were at the cabin because there's no place to bring the garbage until you leave. And so we had our big outdoor garbage can inside there with the door. Locked in a bear ripped the door off all my. To get your garbage. Yes. The best garbage. I think it was very hungry bear. Although look, I'm not going to sell her carpet short. Sure bet you've got fantastic garbage. It's one of the it's all pots of Honey. Yeah. Honey, what can I say what is? And you throw it out my neighbors. Skip was nice enough to give us a bunch of gift. So we bought the smallest ping pong table. There is. Yeah. You still had to put it diagonal inside the shed. Wow. But now are shed has a pink ship does not tear. Your wife is really getting lousy end of the stick shed does not sound like a great venue for ping pong. You need your backyard. Yeah. You know, you need a little bit more space than a shed claim a regulation table, right? I mean, I don't wanna play in in some sort of truncated. No more compact table because then you know. Yeah. It's all throws everything. Here's my what I have a ping pong machine. That shoots the balls at you shit. Yeah. Your wife might want to consider that. And that way there's show business over here. What are you know, as soon as I was able to make some of my legal, zoom dot com projects take off. I I started just patenting stuff, right and left and the next thing, you know, men really pilot cash, and I'm picturing like, you know, like the classic lake. Eighties tennis pro with like, you know, the. And and really short tennis shorts. I'm picturing that person. The navy and name. Yeah. To teach Paula how to how to pause superior ponder. No. I haven't had that experience. I. I somewhere along the way I got like a video about, you know, like ping pong pro teaching, you know, and it, and it just made me lose my will to live because I don't do anything remote was like what they're doing. I did meet one time. Speaking of ping-pong crows, I was working in the Catskills..

"We went to a game at fenway and it was really hot and no seats are narrow and they're not meant for big dudes and we were shoulder to shoulder the on a hot summer night and also the fenway seats they're not made like you could be facing this way and the games over here like it's facing they're not pointed toward the action and you can have a restricted view he could have a pole front via the last the fenway game i went to at fenway we were sitting down in the lower level where you're like oh this is awesome were like right down in it except that we were in the last row so we had a roof over our heads an anything that was hit above five feet in the air you couldn't say yeah but that's charm kept some charmer oh yes over wave our way that's an eighteen nineteen twenty i a new poll question is would you rather go to are we just saying lambeau field or because his this come down to lambeau or bill cowboy stadium i know those are a little extreme of because i think more people are going to want to go to lambel because it's lambeau that that's something that you need there's no other stadium like and this isn't a visit this would be like you're you get the goal oh this is your home team you want them allah fresh new place or keep the old one that's got issues because if i'm pain in anything other than a trough filled with ice cubes i'm not going i love the trough now that trump is to off our office tough on ah on that oh no no no i went to wrigley there's a big trough in just a bunch of ice legitimate foul of say i'm first team all tropic he that keeps the lie on only.

"Have the history here in boston but off not everyone it comes to fenway is a racist so what i'm going to do is i'm going to plant this antiracism sign that's what i'm going to do when show the world that the red sox have nonracist fans as well i mean really yes it's all coming together now matt there are we we've lost our minds we have totally lost our minds or you know you say insidejob did did the security personnel may be let this sinned did they are split get the sign and go oh well that's an antiracism sign who argue from ian teeth great come on in fenway park is home to an tifa i mean when you say in what do we mean inside job and that's whenever you flowed out a conspiracy theory and i love a good conspiracy theory though never you foot went out and if you say the someone's lying about something you always have to ask what's the goal you know what's the goal let's not to go back to adam jones again but that was always my argument with him right or one of my central arguments what would adam jones half to gain by lying about hearing the n word i mean what he needs to good publicity let's apply the thinking here to the banner last night what would john henry half to gain from the banner being at fenway park i need the good press to show what that nonracist people come to fenway park to it's just totally asinine so here's what happened a handful of jv level activists they call themselves social activists say came to fenway park they had a banner racism as as american is baseball they showed it for a couple of seconds it was an ambiguous message not terribly effective i liked them i liked the motivation i liked the motive i'm all for this kind of stuff but the message was ambiguous it did not change hearts and minds it was an amateur type operation down after a couple of seconds and and that's it that sets i mean they're not evil people we are not under attack from militant anarchist organizations four people five people went to fenway park last night and had a banner and they unfurled it above the monster for a few seconds and that's what happened in.

"It's it's disgusting it's ridiculous ignorance i am from the city of boston i live in the city of boston i can walk to fenway park in a matter of minutes from my home this is frustrating it's embarrassing it's this is bad and there's not a place for fenway park there's not a place for in any city two hundred place weren't anywhere just an awful look right now it the sign was quickly removed but aid for even one second for that message to be conveyed was just a bad bad bad bad events take place and it was captured by a million people and now it's going to spread all over social media is everywhere on twitter right now i am iq said i mean there's a foxwoods resort and casino add on the green master like if you were to lower that all the way it would like cover half of that ad feel that's how big this sinus and it's to me i don't know for sure i don't know for sure but it looks like mute about twenty feed jd you can't mrs put it that way yet and that's the thing i'm like it's so shocking to even think that someone would put a sign that large and hang it it a baseball game that supports racism it's it was it's so shocking that someone would actually think to do that and think they could get away with that that when you first read it like i didn't understand what it is saying to me but i mean it says racism is as american as baseball which is completely false unfortunate mean racism is wow i don't.

"Sweet caroline you know new actually loans to caroline oh caroline kennedy us and did you know that this is actually a theme song at boston red sox at red sox fabian at fenway park he hung or as they say fenway pack yeah and they before they do the national anthem late place we minor lord' song but how does it cover i guess causes character the can that it became a popular song at fenway park men test aims all right anyway we're back we're sad to say will have only one more segment left by we have a very titillating scintillating conversation going on here yeah we have some before we go to some great advice by sarah telegraph we have an email question that i think is fizeau we so let's hold that thought sarah let me ask zoe this question okay i'm trying to give performance reviews i don't know how and i don't know how and all my employees really really need to improve do you have any tips well we talked about performance reviews earlier and i am happy that the employer is issuing performance reviews because they're really important care off um but for france their views are a great way to prevent litigation i it can we cut ferdi i already said all this episode k shade again just say we you know not just say if any if any employers have any questions okay i can you could reiterate as house okay for what other frauds era i already have exerted i will go ankle okay i am impressed sand and proud that you are an issuing performance foreign surveys because a lot of employers don't do it often enough you would be um as a litigator i always think about preventing litigation and in performance our views are a great way to do that because employees were given notice of their failures are more likely to improve and they won't be surprised when you terminate them because they'll have no doubt writing god yeah that in reminded a cia oh terrible there that healing i yeah recharge those are sock that's right they don't wanna get fired yeah maybe they'll improve david on peru commit suicide no of as you know we could around on the shuttle recommendation is to be very detailed tailed you can issue a performance improvement plan if you.
