"Brazil, Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets for the fourth weekend in a row. They're calling for the Covid vaccination program to be speeded up and demanding the impeachment of President Jacobo scenario. Gayle McClelland reports. Out bolsonaro. Message in 20 states across Brazil. As the coronavirus death toll in the country passes half a million protesters demand the resignation of the man, they say is to blame President Jair Bolsonaro epitome. We allowed this person to become the president of the Republic and we are seeing the consequences of that today in the absurd number of deaths due to the pandemic. Due to the irresponsible way in which he handled the pandemic in Brazil, Brazil, the president has been famously dismissive of the health crisis opposing masks and social distancing measures. And he's been criticized for slow rollout of vaccines. Only 17% of the population has fully vaccinated with the presidential election looming next year. Mr. Bolsonaro's approval rating is at a record low and he faces investigation in the Senate on charges of corruption. As night fell, skirmishes broke out between protesters and police. Fired tear gas and through flash bangs. Such clashes are likely to persist, putting President Bolsonaro under increasing pressure as the pandemic continues to exact a devastating toll.

The Complicated History of The Rhine

"Our hearts are heavy. Knowing that the romantic views of castles and vineyards and germany's rhine river valley are overshadowed by the recent loss of life and flooding devastation. In germany and the low countries just downstream. From where we're talking about the following interview with tour guides tabby and ruger and nico fava real was recorded last year hot drinks so being. Give us a feeling for the medieval ryan which really created the ryan. We see today as tourists the most important trading river the with the romans already the problems with the rhyme began. It was widely considered that east of the rhine burien live. West of the rhine was civilization. And that's i went all the way through into modern history. France of course try to make for centuries the ryan its eastern border. The germans fought back and eventually of course that ended in one thousand nine hundred eighty. It's interesting when you think about it. That the ryan would have been a huge border culturally between the romans and the barbarians and from a french point of view between the french and the germans. Yeah so when you have a border like that nickel in in europe generally what happens it's Where wars having between. France and germany divorce happen then the ryan either stopped the wars or a lot of areas on the border especially in the french part of the border for instance. The elvas as region has been taken by germany. Many many times am so. It's a war zone between countries. So also been the war zone between religions catholics. Protestants fought over as yes in that area today. Even i mean today. It's kind of the border between catholic and protestant europe. Yes you could say that. Yeah north of the ryan is definitely more protestant. Now when you have the in the middle ages there was not a lot of Paved roads there is not a love law and order. If you wanted to get your goods to the market going down. The river was was one safer way to do it. I suppose it was a safe way. But you have to be careful of something. called robber. Barons who stopped ships along their journey but big chains along or across the rhine made the ship. Stop in and steal everything or steal everything in well amount of duties to say you've gotta pay ten percent of what's on your boat to continue down. Yeah i've heard this word robber. Baron castle so maybe the rhine river fabulous is sort of the quintessential example of a robber. Baron castle zone robot. Baron is a term in particular rob nights for a particular phase during the holy roman empire. Where nights had fallen so poor that the only way to keep the status was to rob traders and so on even if it was not their right to do so and eventually the problem became so bad that you had this middle class of nights who had fallen poor and became robust that the big tradings and merchants. The city's gathered union and under the emperor thing was the second thirteenth century or so. They sent this along the rhine to clear out all the rubber nights castles and literally hung them from the trees along the rhine

YAAS Founder Morgan Zegers on How Radical Left Leads to Regress

"Tell us. What is your message to your fellow americans who aren't the indoctrinated drones but who may be realized that mayo sees not right We have. I'm not gonna even play now but the the cut. We used during the week where. She blamed america for the plight of the cubans under communism. What is your message to those americans and especially those who may want to do something but who feel intimidated of course well for me. I always tell my peers to not let yourself be victimized. Don't fall for the messaging that they're telling you that you will always be oppressed for me. You mentioned my freedom flags. I was in college. And i had a large amount of student debt from my years. Getting my bachelor's degree. And so i learned what an flags and i paid off my student loans many years ago and now it's my full time Small business and so if you could zegers freedom flag shop you guys can all get one across the country. Were so proud of them but right now. They're teaching young people that they will always be a victim in that. We cannot succeed without government's. Help what i want to remind everybody out there. As we see the rise of the radical left for centuries americans have stood together as conservatives and liberals on a basis of classical liberalism and capitalism and it was those two core principles and specifically economic freedom. That really drove this country to the actual progress that we're achieving these days the radical left. That's on the rise will promise progress but history has shown their ideas when implemented bring regress. And if you want to help people give them economic power empower them to take care of themselves in their lives and so really. This is all about control. Money is power and when the people have the money when the people can control their own business and small businesses specifically we're going to be able to dominate and get that american dream back.

"fell" Discussed on What Shall We Do About...?

"The podcast. Ashley fell and you very much. It's lovely to have you on. Tocqueville things generational stuff as that. You spent so much time researching an se job releasing it. That's right we often say well. We often described as social researches and among friends and family on mike. It's basically like professional people watch An observer of human behavior so it's super interesting and we love talking about insights and trends particularly I guess the data that we get in surveys and we always love splitting it by generation can always gives us really interesting insights in differences. Well that's what we're talking about today. I'm across baby boomers. Jacks gen y. That's where i full what follows so jim. Y all often known as the millennials than we've got generations said after they were born between two thousand and nine and nine hundred ninety five and then we've got generation alpha's who have been born since the twenty ten so i know. Finish the phone in the at the end of twenty twenty four. That's what i'll mice racing bouquets about and part of the reason why we actually wrote the book. was because maki's credited with naming them generation which is pretty rare for someone to have that sort of client. How did he make that happen. How did he manage to name a generation. yes he wrote a book called the abc of xyz. I think it was back in two thousand and nine actually and when he was doing research for that he realized that nobody was thinking about talking about the net. What was to come off because we had xyz so obviously kind of i guess the next thing would be maybe go back to at He will just tests. What strategies thinks that. He ran a survey way back when and a lot of he. Austrailia is what do you think. The next generation should be cold and a lot of people said generation a or generation technology like using a bit more of a descript up but he thought that this kind of sort of naming system It's more way of moving to the greek alphabet. Once you've exhausted on latin so we did that and and that's why he decided and i think it's quite reflective of how he feels and how we feel about generation athletic and not just a retention the old but the start of something entirely new bad is whole new generation first to be fully born in twenty th century sorry yet generation alfred same stock and is he hoping that they'll be generation beta and gamma and then he can climb allies as well. Yeah that's right. The one like douglas copland. Who's an author. He he said. I think with generation x he was like just call us x. boxes and then ironically that started xyz ed So yeah i think we will get. I'm beta off to opt offering emma interesting safe that that takes but it definitely has in the loss. Everyone always asks. Did you just plop it out of thin air and we often say you know. We've been writing about and talking about generation alpha for ten years and we've over that time had the new york times and and folds and other sort of publications right about that. And i guess that's how we've been able to get that agency and so you wouldn't book for a couple of years announced finally out and about so actually exciting all right. Well let's talk a bit about generation alpha so we're kinda took and currently aged zero to eleven and the ones that'd be born in the next few years right okay. My kids fall into that. I've got a full year old and two year old. So i'm very interested in this book and i read a bit of it in so that it's general generally gen y. Who arising alpha. And i'm like that's that's me that's it. Yeah that's right so is really interesting Like last year. I think gen said kinda came out with these hall. Like don't call us millennials. Because i think a lot of people. Just use the millennials to describe like this young people but millennials is actually sort of more of a synonym for generation. Y i'm so jim. Y between in two thousand twenty one aged between twenty six and forty forty one actually so the oldest them have hit their forties already. And so i think. That's where jen's electa call us millennials. Wet where the next generation of young people. But that's right. I mean. I think a lot of people think of this next generation that realize that actually these the gen ys who were in their thirties. Miceli parenting generation. Alpha's so yeah honi generation. Pretty tech savvy. parents Compared to parents of the cost that still a pretty big divide between the two in times of the fact is that this generation outposts have only ever known a world of technology whereas the gym wise. I'm jim wise. Well we remember a time. Before those devices existed in allies. It makes me think though we are fairly tech savvy gen wise but i mentioned face. Eleven year olds in alpha now. Surely more tech savvy than i am absolutely and we did a lot of research for the books. I ran a few focus. Groups with parents conducted surveys into some experts. In different areas rounds. teaches ladies and it was really interesting every time hunting. When you ask the question what do you think. The key differences between generation after these young kids and your generation all pasta. It's always technology. And i think for us. I think one helpful way we often describe it is that generation began being born in the two thousand ten and that was the same e that the ipad was released into consumer's hands. That was the same that instagram won't on the oxford english dictionaries. Word of the year that year was the app and so these devices in as new ways of communicating. We all remember a time before they existed in allies but for generation outfits the whole world. I've only annoying. And we write in the book the age at which were exposed to a new technology or transformative events determines how embedded it is and it becomes asaki in our lifestyle and you have to this generation. Who only of a nine. This road of devices screens. It really does impact and influence them in a different way to those of us. Really old up. Does this mean that this generation screen more prone to screen addiction. And i'm not saying that i'm immune from it. I didn't grow up with screens as much as kids are now with tablets and on demand stuff is that a consent or is it actually a good thing for them in the development and growing to two nine more about the world around them. Yeah i think it's a really great question and we actually explored this I guess what we call these. Tensions that parents are facing in the book so you obviously an area lacks screens and technology has got to chase sides. Oh multiple it's very multifaceted. A lot of parents will like. It's it's great that Out don't have to spend as much time in the library like waited looking up words in encyclopedias. And it's just the click button up touch screen and this heats have benefits around connecting and we saw that with covid that we could work from high that we could that these kids could go to school effectively from higher man all of that enabled by technology and screens. There's definitely benefits There are also a lot of challenges that parents was saying addiction being one of them. The instant gratification that inability to have some patients or two white something. Something that we call up aging wick heeds Can very easily be exposed if they're online on youtube and things like that to things. That really aren't appropriate for them. So they kind of get alda at a young age so that kind of loss of innocence happing happening earlier or early than even brain is ready for inability to sit still..

It's not. I mean you know. She the backstabbing ex-friend and the side chick. They usually don't stick with them. We haven't had one like this in a while. Though steve so to the letter this is the math right. We have been a minute so to the letter writer. Basically your husband cheated on you throughout your marriage and when you had had enough you divorced him. You're female friend from from work that used to work with stepped in to help you get through it. All you guys ended up in a relationship and now she's cheating on you with your ex husband that she helps you get over. And wasn't that nice of her to say she was so sorry when you showed her the pictures. Wow your question is how do you trust a man or a woman again. I mean to that. I just say it's not gonna happen tomorrow. you know. Trust once broken as the thing you have to build and you don't need to trust them but in your next to relationships yet. It's probably going to be a problem with you. It's gonna take some time. Say don't jump into another relationship right away. You need a moment to process all of this. This is crazy. This really is crazy. I mean betrayal upon betrayal of what happened to you and you know i'll say this judge any new prospects on their own merit trust now and how they treat you not on the baggage from your past. You know you really find out how strong you are when you go through something. The best revenge is success looking. Good so i say work on yourself. Take care of your kids. don't let bitterness take over keep moving forward. Remember you to give yourself time. This was a lot. This was a lot. This was a lot and time heals a whole lot to deal with steve who right when i was reading letter thinking i had a handle on it to handle broke and then all the coffee fell out to cup in addition jess lady. I this is.

"What it is. I'm not sure which. Honestly? I mean the. The description of a carnival like it has games and rising candy, and we burn a doll in effigy that was that was concerning. In. Quite. A bit weird. Yeah. Yeah. But the one that's jumping out I we're GONNA. Put that one on the back burner. See we get back to first one. Were a Hobo. Well. That's that's the thing like I wasn't even properly dating and I was just like. It was like this toxic. Other woman situation. Yeah. Hobo as in like a rail writing. Free speech, he, has. Shoes on his knuckles that say real rotate and like really company Tattoos. Sue Israel into trains and he's decided to make his life about. Hop In those phrase when the When the balls aren't looking. And this is. How does one shack because by their nature they? Frequently Irael. So how does one? Even become friends with benefits with a Hobo. That is true pretty lame origin story. He randomly added me on Facebook Windy. And, we had a mutual friend with a childhood friend of my little sisters. So I thought that maybe this was someone that I knew but had forgotten about and I didn't want to be rude. So. Then we just started talking and one day I drove out. To. Hang out with him and his crew and like a squat in Seattle and like an abandoned railway hanger that was still like Christmas decorations. As, one dose, it's pretty fun. As one does. Yeah and we ended up Yeah. We had like a fun fun night hanging out there. Then the next day I ended up staying the night we went skinny dipping and Lake Union I. Think. His friend drink like an entire fifth of Vodka 'cause he was sad about being broken up with and we ended up having to take him shouldn't emergency room. And this was your first. Your first hang out. Yeah. So. Squat. I think many people listening no but this is A. usually abandoned building not licensed for residential use that people go in and live in. You sleep there. You meet a random person facebook you sleep in his squad. So when you put it that way. something. You're something of a free spirit. You know that's that's. Sometimes, kind of yes. That I'm also I don't know. I'm also very much an introvert and a big home body actually and. I. Do I do like adventure. Now when you're converting that van usually that phrase, it sounds like when you converting van that's to a live in it. And is this because you're about to get in on the I ten Hobo Life. Yeah I was. Going to yeah I guess you can say it's going to get in on that. So BE I. I had a wreath like when I met him I had gotten out of this. Would you call up? Residential. Training Program I. Don't know if you've ever heard of Job Corps. I Have I've heard that a corner. Piece. I haven't heard of Job Corps well. Well American Peace Corps are quite different like those are public service kind of deals. And core was I think originally, it was like the Civilian Conservation Corps was founded. Around or Asher roadworks. Yeah during Lena maybe during the depression. Give people, sort of. Jobs. I believe? That's the one that was like, Hey, we'll give jobs. Helping to build America's infrastructure so you can have a government job during these tough times. Probably connected to that in some way because it is like a quote unquote job training program although when I was very twenty ten, it was just A. I don't know like a pipeline to recruit people into the military essentially. League. Each center has been one program that actually leads to or could lead potentially to like a fruitful career in that field and the rest of the programs are bit of a joke. But they're like if you enlist in the military, then it'll. You'll get in there with a higher starting salary and a higher rank and you unruly use. If you have a criminal record, we'll that clean for you. Wink wink. So you're studying job corn. How does this lead to you living in event with a Hobo? So it just gotten out of job corps len him or I had recently out of Job Corum. And it was a bit. Like of a traumatic experience so it was kind of. Isolated and didn't really have any friends and I was. Stuck like a home living with my family. Well. My abusive father. and they're just hit just separated from my mom you just say to get divorced. and. I don't know we just. Connected and then we had a good connection at first and. When I met him and his community like. His friend asked me like. Just random. Like asked me about my relationship with my parents and it's like my mom's sucks she kicked me out although Blah like she was terrible and abusive like Oh wait people can talk about these things. Just felt the sense of. Kinship West This is a very. I would say. And I love all my people. In this region of the world I've traveled extensively to this region million shows. People even people from the Pacific northwest would agree. This is something I'm not going to say IT'S A. It's a thing that's everywhere the Pacific northwest, but it's only in the Pacific Northwest Biolog- or it's very odd brand for the stereotypes of the Pacific northwest for someone to live to visit a squat go skinny dipping in this creates a rabbit. Preparing to live in Van. To get. Your Hobo friends. But now I mean I don't. I do want to say. Because I'm being lighthearted and these stories are really fascinating. I do want to point out something that I've noticed. Is that we've been talking about fifteen minutes. and. You've already mentioned that the Hobo. was. Toxic relationship you've mentioned. Your parents. Feel like there was some toxicity there. You mentioned that the. The EX, the ex whose apartment you're currently in visiting your dogs. That you're better.

Puzzles, but that was rather brazen. Brazen I've been on. is a tent or and. WHY WOULD I? Want when I get. Here it is. Now that the baseball season is in its waning days, I'M GONNA use this I've used many baseball puzzles in the past I guess I'm a baseball fan. There are two rookie players who started the season on opening day and and made a wager as to which one would have the best batting average the end of the season. And they're both standing there to the last game of the season and not much is going to change that last day especially considering neither one of the starting lineup and they're. And they're watching the other players take batting practice, and we'll call these guys for the lack of. The lack of something better Bluto and Popeye. Got It. So. BLUTO SAYS A Popeye wooded. You Bet for the first half of the year. And pop by says, BET at two fifty. And Bluto says like gut you there I bet at three hundred. And he says, how about after the All star break what you do in? Proudly Popeye pipes up or pie POPs up and says. I bet it three, seventy, five. Wow he says pretty good but I bet at four hundred. Four over the twenty bucks that we bet. So there are several questions. Let me get these numbers down. DO I. Have Blue and Popeye. So for the first up to the all star Break Pluto bats three hundred. Yeah, and pop by bets to fifty to fifty. Yeah. After the All star Break Yeah Bluto bats four hundred. Popeye bats three, seventy five, and you're gonNA tell the Popeye wins the bet. The Bat boy Dougie Saunas over and says, don't pay the Twenty Bucks Popeye I. Think you one How could that? Be Lol and how many times they hit him with the back. End, why is someone that bad at three, seventy, five not playing in the last game of the season that's what I wanna no injuries by the way I wanna add this just it might help or might not help they. Both had the same number of at bats with the season. Go figure. Now, if you think you know the answer, you would send that answer on a postcard or so to the bottom of a tempurpedic Swedish foam memory mattress. Pillow and pillow. Yeah. Actual take just a appeal and send it to puzzle tower. A two.

Absolutely. He wouldn't agree to. Know I wanted to have an. Office with the Super Super Soaker Water Gun. I've been blaming it on Middle Age, I N deficiency, lack of vitamins, air pollution, water, pollution, Saccharin, obesity, dieting, underarm older, and a dozen other maladies that make you wonder if life is really worth living but now I found out it that I'm tired because I'm overworked. Now this is mean. Of this country's turned it in fifty million. One, hundred and four million are retired that leaves one, hundred, forty, six, billion to do the work. There are ninety million in school which leaves fifty six million to do the work of this total. There are three, two, million employed by the government. That leaves twenty four million to do the work. Five million are in the armed forces which leaves nineteen minutes to do the work. Take from that the eighteen point seven million people who work for state and city government and that leaves three hundred thousand people to. There toilet and forty eight thousand hospitals. So that leaves fifty thousand. There are fifty, one, thousand, nine, hundred, Ninety people, Ninety eight people in jails or prisons that leaves just told people to do the work. and. No microcode, my brother's more like. Faster, so you know what I'm saying, so you know about business? But you know some kind of some kind of happened. You know twenty twenty. Happen I I guess for everybody. You know Kinda Kinda, like this current for the worst you know, you know I came home. One day from work in the door locked was changed and. I thought that was my and I was like you know the door lock exchange like this something. Molly, you need to talk about something. And she basically was like acting like real life nausea. Don't know what I'm talking about your king into the point King Life. Time all. Bravo is that is that I'm still paying her rent? While we're not together, no more right. And instead of point where I feel like. If my best interest to move on, but I love. I bought a ring I wanted to propose to her. We have two kids together trying to make it work, but it seems like everything that I do WanNa come to paying her bills all these nice things. It ain't really adding up I. Let me let me tell you first of all last year. She first mistake. You can't buy somebody's love. You can't buy somebody's trust and that's what you seem like you're trying to do you. You're doing money they're you buying bags? You buy shoes. You probably said. Said this argument when I'm buying you everything you want. That doesn't work to really get back into until her good graces. You have to prove that you're not that person anymore. It's not a mad about buying anything. It's not about buying shoes or buying bags taken out dinner. It's it's rebate in reestablish that trust like the little things like you know. Have conversations open up your phone Tortola? Hey, look this up for code I would. I would never jeopardize my relationship anymore. Let her let us start having their trust in you. She a cold for your four. Come with me like make us feel comfortable that look I'm not that person anymore. I made a mistake I apologize. I'm sorry I'll do. Do anything that I. have to make sure that that you can start. Trust me again, but is not going to start what you're trying to buy love because when you try to buy love exactly what happens. Is You realize that you're doing it? She keeps accept it and just using you for that and you know she's still not whatever sort of part whatever of. Doing all of that, but To the point where it's like you know, there's really no no romantic romanticism the whole. Mass you don't trust you because you cheat abro mistrust. Self in that position. Okay, so the best apology is changed behavior, so she'll grow trust for you when you show her that you ain't cheating no more and go I understand what he's talking about the F. Vire everything to change your behavior and ball out all right. You got to do both if it's crazy to happen at twenty, seventeen twenty. And then the problem to what you've gotTA REX used to. You can't tell somebody how to how to feel like a lot of guys. They say I ain't. She did that doesn't mean she don't feel that, bro. You Still Chino Truth. The truth between us, tell the truth, my brother tell the truth. Bothering my brother said you know. I'd ask you that. Have you cheated cheated? Promised to Guy Tom. I Good God. No, if you lying and if you lie, and you're not gonNA. Bless you what you want. Right. Now is the fact that I'm working my ass off. PUT I. Give her an inch trying to take a mile. Well, that's. This the same way the same way you took the same way you took that poom from another woman, your major should be able to take them out, so give it a mile and be willing to go the extra mile for okay. Change your behavior and ball out, but before you ball out, you have to get to the side where you understand what you did wrong and apologized. You just can't out because it'd be for nothing then when you get to the point, what's the? Enough is enough if I'm doing all of that and I will. Probably. USED! Over it, you did was wrong. You say okay, we'll ask. Yes you can have unprotected sex with a girl three years ago and then come back to her and. She. Don't trust to fault okay. Police overstayed step-up. have. Good luck. Asked me, eight, hundred, five, five, one, zero, five, one that when we come back, we got a rumor report. We gotta talk Ti and fifty cent so move. Is the breakfast locomotion. The Breakfast Club. EJ Envy Angela Ye shall I mean the guy? We are the breakfast club. Let's get to. The Room is less talk here in fifty. It's about. Is the report. Angelilli on the breakfast. See! I told you guys I. Don't WanNa. See this battle anymore I. Don't see it being nice. At first, it was fun it was Laffy was I can't wait to hear these brothers catalogs, but now. I think it's just going to go too far. Why? Well yesterday fifty cent posted this on his instagram. This is about another kind of feel they can help our mothers. Our brothers and Kept the perpetrators who commit crimes against them off the streets are you gotta do is call opposite now tips can be anonymous, and there's even a reward. The number crime stoppers. Four, zero, four, five, seven, seven, eight, four seven seven Oh. You know, listen man. Everybody is saying like Oh. This is going too far, but this is what I expect like. Let's keep in mind that TI and fifty cent are. I guess what you would call the rappers who both loved the pop in. They have since his humor I I didn't think they would go to cooperating and we're law. Enforcement slammed too so quick, but this is where we are, and this has the potential to be the most entertaining versus yet because of the way these brothers communicate with each other, and because they both have great music but I still got tipped to win. I will also say to Y'all can say what you want about that. Crime Stoppers Commercial. What is the difference between snitching and Crime? Prevention, and I would love to see y'all calling crime stoppers on those folks who shot and killed those kids this weekend in. In various cities across America each you'll. Queen Sakaria who got killed in Atlanta. Yes, call crime stoppers. If you know who kill is kinda tone deaf to clown ti about that at a time like this. Yeah, so fifty cent play Ti's crimes. "Could gem pause for a second realizing how much she did not want to do the things she was about to suggest that she continued on knowing either only shot to escape. We would attend meetings meetings with presentations at put together committees lots of committees and and we could circulate memos and also most importantly we could go out on searches to find bigfoot for you. Gem felt her heart swell with hope as she looked up. At the circle of late afternoon Sky Guinea pig stopped shifting his snout and whiskers were still as if he were frozen in thought in contrast the animals and the whole erupted with anxiety hurt for bigfoot rapes right. What if Selfo there could definitely be meetings? Are you kidding me meetings? This is our only hope gems. I twitched as she stared them all down. The animals fell silent gazing upward with a strange mix of anticipation and dread finally Guinea pig spoil. Sorry it took me a minute to do the math math man. My Big Foot search love is at capacity. We've maxed out our space in the tree and the fire marshal. There will come after me if I add even one more animal also side notes. We are extremely close to finding bigfoot. I do love your enthusiasm for long meetings. Committees and memo's membership is closed so by with that Guinea pig disappeared gem was paralyzed staring upwards. As her brain tried to catch up to what had just happened there was already a bigfoot foot. Search Club membership was closed. None of it made any sense. How many animals had Guinea pig trapped down here but all of those thoughts fell away as fear settled in gem was never getting out never quitting. Her Job. Never finding a way to lead a useful life. He's coming back right well it was. He just joking strange. Humor is math. Two minutes later the mood in the deep dark hole had taken another dive. Oh is lost. I saw were jammed JEM but JEM was curled in a ball. Her ears flopped over her is unable to do anything else. Night fell and the whole took on a new shocking level of darkness and they never left the whole the end. Just kidding that would be cruel. And I wouldn't do that night. Fell and the whole took on a new alarming level of darkness. The Moon was tucked behind a cloud. All was quiet then. They heard something. What was that maybe Guinea pig coming back for us. Doubtful Gem lifted her head. She figured the sound was simply a nighttime creature on its way to a Flamengo dance show or a candle making class already too far away to hear their calls but then the clouds shifted enough for glow of moonlight to fall over the whole. The animals gasped as they looked up and saw a rope. It dropped down in a flash AND THE END OF IT HIT. The ground is soft. Thud Gem leapt to her feet and dash to the rope sniffing at wildly. It's not Guinea pig. It's something else. The animals huddled around the probe and stared upward. There was a tall shadowy figures back lit by the moon at the edge of the whole it was completely still and seemed to be waiting for them to do something. Gem Felt Relief. Wash over her. She nudged the animals forward and one by one grabbed. Hold of the rope. Gem waited until they were all secure then. She grabbed onto it herself and the hulking creature above began to raise the road. In seconds gems head emerged from the whole and she scrambled onto solid ground. She looked up just in time to see the creature even bigger than she'd imagined. Loping away on two feet. Jim Suddenly remembered her Satchel with her camera inside. She dashed around blindly finally finding it in the grass. She paused at the closure knows. Did Open lifted her camera and clicked. The flash momentarily blinded her. When she regained her sight in the darkness. The creature was gone. Did you get a photo was that? Do you think it was no gem pod at her camera until the photo of the creature appeared. There was in the middle of the frame. It's back facing them. A large running by peel blur gem turned off the camera and shoved it. Back in her Satchel but deep down she and the others knew exactly what they'd seen. Do you think we should tell? The gamely yameen a Guinea pig. Yes should be tell him. Everyone was silent for a moment. Nah Yeah Gem leads. The animals home. She felt a great sense of peace knowing that she still had time to quit her job. Take her stapler and go on to mix of her life across the forest. Guinea pig called his Big Foot Search Club meeting to order my friends. We are getting awfully and I mean awfully close to finding bigfoot beers come in different forms. This story began with some pretty straightforward fears being alone WORMS SNAKES. But what about gems biggest fear hers was a little more complex. Jam wanted to lead a useful life and suddenly she was afraid she never have the chance. Sometimes the thought of never confronting that fear of yours of never be able to hike a mountain or go in a flight somewhere incredible or to try that new food. Sometimes the thought of not doing something becomes scarier than the thought of doing it. That's what happened to me with my writing. I had to ask myself. Could I really accept never sharing my writing with people? Would I be satisfied with that life in moments like that? You realize that never doing the thing that scares you is something. You just cannot accept. That's when you act move forward in you expose yourself to challenges and sometimes when you do that magical things happen so I encourage all of you to separate those straightforward fears. You know your basic theories of rainbows you know. That's a common one or rain coats. That's not unusual separate those from the fears that might not be serving you like the fear of trying something new or if you're just being yourself or the fear of showing someone something that you need because those kinds of fears might be holding you back from something really. "This is Ria. Welcome to little stories for tiny people fears. We all have them. I certainly do. One of my biggest fears is heights. Being a super tall bridge yup that freaks me out downhill skiing terrifying. Let's see what else scares me? Oh well okay I kind of tonight it before but I will admit I am afraid of geese. Look I challenge you to get trapped by a swarm of geese while out for a slow jog a narrow path and come away from that experience without a very real very rational fear of those under sized dinosaurs moving on. I'm also afraid of snakes. I know most people love snakes and just WANNA snuggle up with them. But not me. Our story today is about fears. It's also a follow up you one of my most popular episodes. We all fell in guests. Today I had some scheduling difficulties but the studio spiders are here and they are scowling at me right now so I think that means we should get on with it. So let's get sue it. The story is called. We all fell in Sioux. Take it away you SI- now remember. There are no pictures. You're going to have to imagine the pictures in your mind. You can imagine the pictures ever. You want okay here. We go okay. Gill you're going to take a deep breath and move closer to the worm. Gill shivered with fear. He looked ahead at the worm. Poking its head out of the ground about five feet away. Gill gulped Goop slithered himself about one inch closer and gave a nervous smile. How how did I do? Did I do really well? Well Gill your fierce buddy. Yeah you're closer now. You're a little bit closer. You did something Gill Jim side. She was a short haired Dachshund with a shiny coat of black and Brown for. She looked at the animals. She was meant to lead on that day's fear exposure hike. There was still a garden snake with a paralyzing. Fear of worms. Begonia a turtle terrified of being alone. Clive. A tree crab with a sprained leg who had written on his form that he's terrified of being airborne and a three legged cat named Desmond with fear of Saint Desmond took a step away from Gill. The garden name Jam I group the day would be waste just like every other this whole idea of taking a bunch of animals out on a fear exposure. Hike clearly sounded brilliant and business was booming but in practice there was never enough time in a day to address. Everyone's fears like just last week. When Gem was somehow expected to cure a Hedgehog with fear of crows and a crow that was afraid of hedgehogs and a tarantula that also happened to be afraid of hedgehogs and crows. Oh and a lady bug afraid of dancing. The whole system was a farce matter. It was gems final day of work at four fifty two. She was going to quit. She already had a speech planned out. She'd even tapped a copy of it in her Satchel. Just in case all morning she'd been practicing most important line in her head to get it right and I'm taking my stapler now now and I'm taking my stapler. That's the one. Gem took a deep breath scratch behind her ear with a Hind Foot and reluctantly returned to the present. Nice effort Gill. We'll come back to you later. Next time you'll be staring at the worm for a full minute so please start doing some mental rehearsals of that while you wait alright. Begonia Europe Begonia Green already. Seeing as she was a turtle turned slightly greener and began to pull her head into her. Shell Gem in nudged her forward. Let's move this way. That looks like a good spot for your first time being alone for thirty seconds the rest of the group knowing their own turns were coming offered some lukewarm encouragements. Begonia. "While Conrad Truman Sat in a Utah State prison marking time. His sister collapsed searched endlessly for ways to get him out. was there a time when you or anybody else in your family. Emily thought maybe we don't know as well as we thought we do know he couldn't have gilder not possible so much about Conrad Camera. Truman's trial bothered his sister. Colette but one detail in particular kept gnawing at her it had to do with the diagrams used by the state Depicting the area where Heidi's body was found. I remember thinking. Well that's strange. That's that can be right. post-verdict post-verdict collect shared her concerns with Conrad's new attorneys mark. MOFFATT an anti Farah. The defense team decided to visit the Truman home to see for themselves. If the state's diagrams were accurate we later made that same trip with Moffett. who showed us what they discovered avert? This is the area in question and it's pretty small it is it's really sma- we immediately started measuring. We knew right away that there was a big big problem with their their diagrams. Measurements the problem. All those measurements were off instead of a hundred and thirty nine inches. Somebody took the figure one three nine and interpret it to be thirteen point. Nine feet thirty three inches became three point three feet and on and on and on according to Moffett those flawed measurements. which were used in court made the house appear much bigger than it was? They used boost the theme of distance to argue that Mr Truman was lying about where he said his wife was when he heard what turned out to be the fatal shot at trial. The prosecution argued to believe Conrad. You'd have to believe hiding shot herself in the bathroom and then walk walk twelve feet before falling to the floor and according to the medical examiner that was impossible. He testified Heidi's head wound was so severe that she could have at most walked. A stepper to this issue of distance. Was this big issue. But for Intel Pharaoh just seeing the house and how small it was was was proof enough that the prosecution's argument didn't hold up when you walk in the House. There's no way that there's even twelve feet there. We'll it's more according according to the defense team. Conrad never told the police. Heidi shot herself in the bathroom instead. He told them he had no idea where she wants when when he heard the shot told me Your theory of what happened here we believe. Heidi Truman shot herself in this area. And we believe that she carell right in the area directly in front of me on the ground and that's the very area where she was found. When law enforcement entered the home that night which they also said was completely consistent with the emmys testimony that Heidi would have fallen after only a step or two she would have gone to the ground immediately and your argument limit is she did fall down and she fell right about here yes and she went? That's exactly what arguments according to them off at. This was not a simple mistake. Is this the case of a small town. Police Department making some incorrect measurements adding up some figures wrong. I don't believe so I believe that they willfully lied to secure a conviction against Conrad Truman. And for these attorneys there were more issues with the state's case one had to do with gunshot residue tests. The defense learned police swamp both Heidi and comrades hands. But those swabs were never sent to the lab when you have gunshot residue that was never tested and those things matter. The defense team decided to test. Those swabs themselves Conrad's hands were negative for resident but there was a question as to whether Conrad washed his hands before they were tested so those results were meaningless. That's probably why they they didn't test in the first place as for Heidi Swabs. There was no residue on her left hand but there was on her right hand then significantly. Heidi Eddie was right handed. When you have gunshot residue in a location and in a quantity that is absolutely consistent with her firing a semiautomatic semiautomatic weapon? One of the possibilities. is she fired a gun. You can't discount the deeper mafia and Taliaferro got into the case the more it seemed to them. Heidi's fatal wound was self inflicted. They believe the head wound. A contact wound ruled out. Homicide a contact gunshot wounds to the right temple are the most common site of self inflicted gunshot wounds that there are Mafia and Taliaferro decided to take their findings to the emmy hoping to sway his ruling on the manner of death once again just as police did prior to Conrad's arrest we we gave him a bunch of information then he on his own with his investigators went to the home to look at it in the result was just what they'd ask for. Heidi Truman's manner of death wants undetermined. Then homicide was now officially once again undetermined. It was manna from forensic heaven now. Often medical examiner's change their findings and then changing back. I've never had a case where this has happened. Ever it took another year but Conrad Truman's conviction was overturned and he was granted a new trial. I never thought that was even a possibility for the medical to change. I never would have thought that things like I can't get my hopes up about yes. Yeah yeah that's exactly how I felt. I was beyond happy. We were just absolutely over the moon. Fear Heidi's family it was is just the opposite. We couldn't believe it was over. We thought it was over. We thought this was settled. That was a hard hard hard moment. We hated it. We just thought so. What are they going to come up with this time and we know that's what you're thinking to coming got a new trial? A new jury a different verdict. There was enough there there beyond a reasonable doubt. Why would things work out if it didn't work out the first time?.

"Aw just more than two years after his wife Heidi's Deaf Conrad. Truman stood convicted of her murder. He was looking down barrel of a life sentence when he returned to a Utah courtroom to learn his punishment. This is the moment where some convicted killers ask for mercy because of their difficult lives or tell the court they've been misunderstood and sometimes of course they don't speak at all but not Conrad through please. I can't say sorry I understood. Speaking out would make it way worse but I was like Doc. I don't know I was like to hell with this. I need to speak my mind. These approve of justice. The judge had heard that before the sentence he imposed sixteen years to life crushing for Conrad and his family sitting behind him including sister. Colette he want to believe that. the things. Turn out the way that they're supposed to and that's just not always the case imprison Conrad did. What many many do he retraced the steps that led him there and he thought a lot about the night? Heidi died as Conrad's saw it. The police rushed to judgment began began precisely when officers. I rushed through his front door. Is this felt like this guy's drinking. There's fire arms in the House so he must've shot her will. Why couldn't it be exactly that simple? This wouldn't be the first time that mixing alcohol an argument and a handgun leads straight to a prison sentence. Conrad told us what he told police. It isn't that simple. Sure he hide he had been drinking and yes yes they had been arguing. Buddy said neither was an explanation for what happened could have upset her with some of the things. I've said you know or the way I acted with not being attentive. You know tour. I know of side do that sometimes when I drink. I don't pay a lot of attention. You know those still doesn't seem the grounds for a gigantic fight. No it got to the point where I think she was. I upset her. I was really. I just know she went to go. Take a bath. which is what she did when she was all irritative? Yes comrade also shared with us how he picked the bathroom lock not he said to confront in Heidi but just to apologize she just said get out and I was like okay and so I just let her be as for comrades behavior after police arrived at his door. He said he had good reason for acting that way. I was trying to say my wife. I does that make sense. It was just. I just wanted her to live. I get how frantic you must have been. I'm not sure I understand the threatening part of that and I think that's one of the things that ended up getting you in trouble could be i. It was like how do I explain this to you guys like get her help. And when you can't explain that to someone I just started. I started making threats. Well if that's true then why and how did Heidi wind up with a bullet in her head. I think police found it hard to believe that you could be right there with her in a very small area and she shot. And you don't know what happen. Yeah maybe in their heads in mine I was just I was confused. Could this be an accident what I say to that is. I didn't see I don't know what happened. That's how he felt just hours after the shooting but as the months passed Conrad came to the conclusion Piney may have taken her own life life. His wife he said wasn't as tough as she appeared wishes. Sad person was you're depressed person When she drank a little bit you can Komo? It wasn't every time but it did Heidi's friends Sandy. Sanchez also saw another side to Heidi. That strong funny person also had some things inside that were very painful. According to sandy those things had to do with Heidi's upbringing most significantly. Heidi grew up not knowing the identity of her father. That really bothered her. You know she. She did not know her dad and she had always wanted that it. Bugger tremendously enough. To take her own life ever attempted suicide before never to my knowledge she never talked about it. No it's very hard to believe that what was going on. Heidi's live at the time. What seemed like a pretty happy marriage to you? She's going to spur the moment decide to commit suicide like that is. That's a tough question it's like. How do you really know when someone's is going to do that? You know as he lived his life behind bars. Conrad continue to speculate. He also tried to stay hopeful. I was just like this is going to workout workout has to because I didn't I didn't do this. Conrad's family never gave up on it. So they scrape together the money to hire Conrad on ransom. New Attorneys Magnani looked into the case. to them. It was immediately apparent that there were a lot of problems. Mark Moffatt Autho an antenna pharaoh. Were those attorneys. "As the sun inched above of. Utah's Wasatch Mountains. Questions swirled at their base. How did Heidi Truman wind up on her kitchen floor shot in the head for sure police were wondering about her husband after all? Conrad Truman was in the house when Heidi was shot and there was no evidence evidence of an intruder. I felt like they thought I did something soon. After he arrived at the scene Sergeant Bill Crook did begin to have his suspicions more more talented. Conrad back off the paramedics here back off and he wouldn't be was what moving around paramedics for me Sir. There were other scenarios that needed to be explored like accident and suicide. That's where detective Tom Wallace came in. There had been a number of theories. We obviously. So you're GONNA exhaust them. That's that's going to happen. The medical examiner didn't make Wallace's job any easier. His preliminary finding Hainanese nineties manner of death could not be determined. So Wallace tackled each theory. One by one accident seemed hard to believe thanks to comrade. Heidi had firearms experience. Can you think of any way it could have been. An excellent wouldn't have been so careless. So what about suicide. She's completely naked. We don't see a lot of women that commit suicide naked. That's not common. Did you find anybody that Heidi had spoken to about out suicide or about being depressed now. Neither Heidi's mother Janet nor her sister autumn could imagine Heidi even thinking about taking her own life. Heidi would never do that. In fact Heidi was against that. She had a friend who committed suicide and she thought it was selfish and in her words dumb ever ever tell you she was depressed. No ever act depressed now she was probably one of my happiest those upbeat kids. That lifts lift Wallace with homicide. And it put comrade back. In the police Crossair's Wallace decided to speak to the officers. First on the scene about their experience with Conrad everyone felt. His behavior was odd. He's yelling by it's a violent yowling is like if you don't save her. I'm going to kill you. Cook found those threats so alarming he took out his food to record them. Your guys it could just be the way. This guy reacts to trauma but I'm telling you it was a red flag at that time also a red flag. Conrad was drunk. He admitted he and Heidi had been drinking earlier. That that night I could see in his eyes. The redness red flag number three Conrad told Crook he and Heidi had been arguing a minor dust up he said Ed no big deal but enough for Heidi to draw bath and ask to be left alone. She went and locked herself in the bathroom. And then he details how he picked the the lock and one in the bathroom and then she kicked him out to me. That's another it's just. More proof of there was an argument. A bigger argument as for the location of the gun itself. That too was suspicious. That guns how far from Heidi I would say eight feet ten feet. Maybe it's it's far Arnav away that I it wasn't a normal like if she shoots herself and falls to the ground sang later that morning. Police asked Conrad to come to the station for more questioning her family. Emily thought otherwise after finally learning from police the details of how Heidi dot the minute I heard how she died. I knew he did. It found like he had a temper and he was very intoxicated and he did something that perhaps he didn't plan I just knew he did. It took Wallis next poured over Conrad statements to police about what happened that night as Wallace sought. Conrad that story went like this. Conrad was in the kitchen. Heidi was in the bathroom at some point. Conrad heard a pop and when he turned he saw Heidi standing thank somewhere between the kitchen and the bathroom hallway bleeding and he either runs over catches her she falls down Wallace then went back to the Truman home. Making detailed measurements of the kitchen and surrounding rooms. You wanted to see if comrades story checked out his conclusion it did not her bodies in the top of the staircase. It doesn't add up that she would have traveled a distance that he sang. She would have gone and then then fallen at that location. It was hard for Wallace to believe. Heidi could've travelled from the bathroom to the top of the stairs. After sustaining such a severe head wound. She would've fallen immediately to the ground now. Wallace shared his findings with Assistant District Attorney. Craig Johnson Johnson agreed. Everything pointed to Conrad. Why why would want to kill his wife under the circumstances Say the motive was just based on this Kita passion argument that they were having alcohol. Fight and guns. That's where we got murder at the same time. Johnson was still reluctant to press charges. Remember the state's own medical examiner couldn't didn't say whether Heidi's death was a homicide and Johnson knew that would be a huge hurdle in court based on my experience in courts curry's a medical examiner carries a lot of weight so Johnson and Wallace show the Emmy a ninety six page powerpoint presentation of all their evidence including those measurements hoping something would sway him. The presentation worked the medical examiner under changed his ruling aside. It sounds like one of the things that got the medical examiner to move from an inconclusive. Homicide was the measurements of the crime. Scene suggested the that her body was too far from where Mr Truman said he'd been shot exactly and so after a ten month investigation the Orem PD and the DA's office arrested comrade. Truman and charged it with his wife's murder. My mom called me and I fell to the ground crying and so happy that he was finally behind bars going into trial. Would you think I thought we had a strong circumstantial case at trial. The prosecution argued a domestic violence ending in homicide. The defense self inflicted gunshot wound the jury sided with the state. Conrad Truman was convicted of Heidi's murder. It was like finally got finally got as far as you knew that was that was it. Did you think that was it. I did but if you think that was it will. Then you haven't been watching enough dateline coming up Heidi's heartbreak. She did not know her dad and she had always wanted that they're really bothered her and Conrad. Truman's hope this is gonNA work out. It has to because I didn't I didn't do this..

"Something's wrong if the Truman House show the nine one one call came into the Orem Utah Police Department at about eleven pm that September night right back in two thousand twelve. We got a call of a gunshot wound or some sort of injury Sergent Bill Crook went to the Truman home. So we all kind of rushed to our cars and and Headed that direction with lights and sirens on the other end of the phone was comrade kneeling on his kitchen floor covered in blood and consumed by panic. It was devastating. It was a nightmare. You can't even explain it with one hand. He held the phone with the other. He's bleeding wife. It was so hard. When is your loved one like that? I had no. I did the best I could try to keep her breathing by by then. Conrad said he realized Heidi had been shot in the head. When you went to Heidi did you see a gun? Now he remembered the pop he had heard and wondered if a stray bullet might come through the bathroom window and hit Heidi. I was trying to think of the noise. And how wasn't very loud and and you know maybe someone could have Shot something at the House. It seemed far fetched but he said neighborhood. Vandals had recently been shooting putting the back of his house with people's utterly confused. Within minutes. Sergeant Crook arrived comrade by now had moved to the doorway of his is home to waive crook down had blood on his hands and he was screaming. And Shrieking Conrad led the sergeant through the front door up the stairs and then it was seen straight from a horror movie I could see Heidi land their shoes naked. Blood everywhere is right at the top of the stairs this horrific seen. What's Conrad Doing? Well he screaming and yelling and as these police photos make clear covered in blood on asking. Why Conrad what's going on on? What happened here? He said she was in the bathroom on just. I don't know what happened. Everything was just different answers. Different theories different little things right away crook went to check one of those theories. A stray bullet perhaps coming through the bathroom window. The windows closed. There's no bullet hole nothing to indicate that anybody fire shots about Sarawak return to the kitchen. And that's when he discovered a gun lying on the kitchen floor. Would you think it happened. Honestly I didn't know was this. It's an accident and attempted suicide or something far more sinister at least for now those answers would have to wait. Heidi was clinging bringing to life. My focus at that time was honestly. It was to help hide. Paramedics took Hoti to a nearby hospital. Conrad followed in a police. This cruiser a dash cam recorded the absolute desperation in his voice. It is so crazy about an hour. After Conrad Arrived Hospital staff delivered the devastating news. It's Heidi Wagner. Truman could not be saved pain. It was misery it was why how in a neighboring town Heidi's mother Janet would soon agonize over those very same questions. It was after midnight when two police officers came to her door. What must be like the most horrendous thing ever and I would never want anybody to have to feel that and that pain that agony of knowing that your daughter for whatever reason is dead as gone? The officers wouldn't give Janet any details only where her daughter had been taken. I'm driving down to the hospital and I make a comment to my daughter. I go you know Oughta as hard as it is that we lost Heidi Eighty. We're going to have to be supporting Conrad because he must be overwhelmed with Grief Conrad sister. Colette was thinking the same thing she raced to the hospital. What kind of conditions your brother? Hey was just a total wreck just absolutely hysterical. Didn't know how it could have happened and no one did. But back at the Truman home sergeant crew had started analyzing the evidence and was already developing a theory. I thought Oh man Dan. There's something going on here feeling. I got a feeling yes. It wasn't just. Everybody was kind of looking around like this. There's something wrong here. We need a detective coming coming up. Was it an accident suicide. We don't see a lot of women that commit suicide naked or something else. I thought I did something when when dateline continues. Willie geist here this week on the Sunday. "I think I was just in shock to find now that she's gone and the causes. I got shot wound You just wonder how did this happen. It seems very surreal. A quiet night hit home shattered by a gunshot arguably a young wife dying on the floor. She wasn't talking it all on the asking him. I Conrad what happened here. I was utterly confused so many different stories about what might have have happened. He said many things that maybe someone could have shot something at the house. At one point he said that eighty percents Suicide police had their Own Theory I thought Oh man. There's something going on here. We don't see a lot of women that commit suicide naked Conrad Stories. We're not adding up but something else wasn't adding up. Not even a key piece of evidence we went to the house and we walk in and we think a ha- would a mistaken measurement send innocent man to prison or free a guilty one. We thought it was over. We thought this was settled. One suspect so many stories stories only one of them could be true. Something's GonNa break and when it does the truth be known. I'm Lester Holt and this is dateline. Here's Josh Markowitz. With as night fell. They seem so incongruous. The Soaring Majesty Adjuster of Utah's Wasatch Mountains and the story of a beautiful woman struck down in her youth. It was a lot of things tragic crushing stomach but was it an accident or a suicide or or a murder police felt they knew but as most cops will tell you both the evidence and the jury have their own stories to tell and the answer is not always so clear. Certainly that is true for this story and quite possibly for the woman at its heart. Her name Heidi win as the baby. She was favored loved her. She could do no wrong on them was one of Heidi's four sisters just special. You know. She'd walk into the room and and she she's ready for that good time. Heidi grew up with with no fewer than seven older siblings growing up. She was certain unloving girl. She was rather shy thou so. Heidi seemed like an appropriate tame. Heidi's MOM Janet the family we get together and we were Kinda loud and boisterous sometimes and she kinda got embarrassed easily cheat Hyder phase as Heidi got older. She was still cute and bubbly but make no mistake. Heidi was no pushover. So it's kind of intimidating actually for being so small you wouldn't think so at just twenty. Heidi started working in the not entirely feminine gas and chemical industry just outside Salt Lake City. Sandy Sanchez was one of Heidi's co workers. We worked with hazardous chemicals and gases crazy things. So you wouldn't expect a couple of girls to want to do. Heidi seem to thrive in a workplace. That fever hardhats over heels was dangerous. If you didn't follow the rules in fact the quote from Heidi everything is dangerous. Just what will kill you the quickest to see the Heidi became more than just a CO worker. I considered her my best best friend. She was a person that you never stab you in the back. She was a person that you would always have your back in person. She could be both sweet and salty and that caught the attention of one of her colleagues twenty five year old comrade trim. I noticed her. I in the hallway. Would you thought she was cute. And and I noticed her heart hat and they have a little personality or stickers. You know and her said it's all about me deal with it and I was kinda thinking this girl's kind of kind of the Feisty Girl Conrad as Heidi out on a date. I'm not that type usually. Don't get super serious off about but it was. It was almost like we are inseparable after that. That was the first. Yeah yeah this. Tough girl even even shared Conrad's interest in guns. We will go to the range out of town and schouten the hills. How do you know how to handle a handgun? Yes one year into their courtship worship. Conrad decided to pop the question in True Utah Form. He chose a mountain on which to do it. She have any idea it was coming now so so I got on one knee and I asked her and I started boll and and she just said yes right off the Bat Conrad's Sister Colette. Doll couldn't believe it on her little brother. I introduced Heidi to the family. I was actually really sort of surprised when I first met her. Like how did he land. That girl named just seemed to be such a great match. You saw love chemistry there. Oh it was almost awkward. They were definitely an enviable couple. Another another year later came the wedding. It was amazing we went up on a lift the chair lift. And then all of the guests left down the slide so it was just so oh them they said their vows and he's doing this champion posed like he was just everything was right with the world. Enviable couple was just starting out with a future as bright as their smiles until that is a Sunday evening in September a two thousand twelve three years after the Truman's were married. Tell me about that day. That day was like just like any other day as night fell. Heidi decided yeah. I did take a bath. Conrad said he went to the kitchen to get something to eat as he fixed himself a sandwich. He said he heard a noise coming from the direction of the bathroom. It was like a New Year's poppers or the Halloween poppers where you can pull strings or you can pull one and confetti and stuff comes out that's when Conrad on read said. He turned and saw Heidi standing there in the hallway naked. She wasn't talking. She wasn't talking at all. She was coughing. She it was heaving and she was believing she was bleeding out of her mouth and her nose. I needed to call nine. One one immediately city is your emergency on an unimaginably shocking scene. Heidi on the kitchen floor in a pool of her own blood. Conrad on the phone pleading leading for help Alvarez it it was bad to begin with and it got so much worse as you will learn. Truer words may never have been spoken. What had happened? It didn't that house when we return on asking him. I Conrad what's going on. He said I don't know what happened. Everything was just different answers in different theories. Different little things a search for answers and a race to save. Heidi Avenue.

This has been a Hong Kong protestor who did this so no one's apprehended over that attack yet and there's also reports of protesters facing off with police at universities throwing petrol bombs and police yes using tear gas and pepper spray and aiming the guns at people and then this is footage of a police officer on a motorbike driving into a crowd of protesters several times ramming something a little before taking away so later on Monday. Hong Kong's late Carrie Lam gave this press conference in which she he condemned the protesters and code them the enemy of the people. Finally I want to appeal to everyone. In Hong Kong to stay calm the frame from taking part in any unlawful activities. This is not language that Hong Kong leaders would use. This is a language that the Communist Party uses and matter of fact they've used it Routinely in recent years And of course this goes back to the era of Mao Zedong. The founder of the People's Republic of China and was widely heard during the cultural revolution is what started in the mid nineteen sixties. The thing here is that it. Carrie Lam is using chinese-language and this comes after. She had two crucial meetings at the beginning of this month she had meeting on November fourth. Where see Japan the Chinese ruler in Shanghai and she also had a meeting day or two later with the Hong Long? Jiang who is the member of the Politburo Standing Committee the Portfolio for Hong Kong. So this is Essentially Carrie Lam getting her orders and given the even more aggressive tactics of the police since those two meetings we can assume that she got her her orders from the top of the Chinese leadership to move aggressively against a Hong Kong people. Essentially Beijing is is forcing goosing. Carrie Lam to take a a hotline. I think so because this doesn't seem like the Carrie Lam who was elected chief executive This his mirrors Beijing's position on this and ask as we've seen the events last two or three days we've also heard word State media in China step up their attacks on protesters so this does seem to be coordinated right. So according Gordon Carrie Lam has go to roads from Beijing and she's following through. Yeah and Gordon thinks that part of that plan involves a kind of unofficial ray structure of the Hong Kong Police. There are a number of videos which show that People from the mainland are now operating on the streets of Hong Kong in the uniform informed of the Hong Kong Police in I think one of the more telling videos. There is a Hong Kong riot. Policemen who is obviously from Hong Kong because he's speaking colloquial colloquial Cantonese. Then he turns around on to a couple of other riot officers and starts talking to them in Mandarin. Remember Hong Kong cantonese-speaking city and The first Hong Kong riot officer speech calls them comrade now to to Hong Kong. Policemen would not use that term when addressing each other there's other videos Another one of them is Is a line of Hong Kong policeman who who absolutely refuse to show their Hong Kong tleyss identity cards and who apparently don't Speak Candies Because uh there's a A PRO democracy figure. I think he's in the council. I forget Talking to and they just impassive as if they don't understand understand so there is growing evidence that There are either Hong Kong a plea Chinese troops or Chinese police who are now wearing con-conflict doc police uniforms and the one thing that that has always struck me is that once we start to see these videos and it coincided sided with a breakdown in discipline in Hong Kong police if we go back to year two years ago. The Hong Kong police were recognized as the most professional professional and disciplined force in of its kind in Asia and now they've just completely broke ranks. There's very little discipline on. They're acting savagely. This is not the Hong Kong police force of a year ago. And we've got to ask. Why has this occurred? And especially since and this Change in behavior does coincide with these videos of the obviously Chinese personnel in the Hong Kong. Police we can guess that may be. This is very much what Beijing okay. So if he's right that's interesting and pretty crofty tactic to infiltrate the Hong Kong Police. Gordon reckons it shows China's realizing it needs to be more and more covert the in dealing with Hong Kong. This is not one thousand nine hundred nine Tenement Square. Where you had these big broad boulevards low buildings on each side? Chinese armor armor tanks and armored personnel carriers just swept through from the Western approaches of Beijing into Tenement Square. And they killed almost it will. Hong Kong is very different. It's defenders territory. Scott narrow streets and alleys got lot of tall buildings. Every apartment building is a fort for the hostels which means that these kids can go to do these apartment buildings third or fourth floor ring down explosives or petrol bombs on concentration of Chinese troops and then just completely disappear and I don't think Beijing has has an answer Militarily for that and certainly politically this would be extremely disadvantageous. China because countries would start to impose sanctions. Asians don't want an open display of raw Chinese power on Hong Kong streets which I think would enrage many people across Hong Kong society.
