"The guy where all this rock and roll was born in the CFL days in the WLS am days, he has been in the business a long time, and he's proud to say he's been fired. 25 Times Chicago legend Put your hands together for the one and only dig beyond a John Lanchester is sitting beyond a relatives are red violets are blue. If I don't read a commercial, the boss says, I'm through. Who is that? Is he answer? Something 7 36, w g N. John Lamb Decker. Hey, Pam. Hey, John. How many times that we've done this, Pam? Oh, my gosh. How many seriously don't know how many, but it's been every time has been so much fun. I could tell you that Over How many years have we done this? It's been seven years and I've got it will be eight in March of 2022. I said earlier when I was announcing you were coming home. That if you wanted to find somebody who would not give up who stayed the course who had a goal and would not be deterred from it. It is, you know, Thank you. I've never seen anything like this. Him. Well, cams, not Pam was not a documentary filmmaker, but that was seven years ago. Now she is, but she went out there without out there without any training or anything to do this documentary on Dick Biondi. Well, I did have a video production business in my life. So towards the end of my life, actually, before I retired, so called retired God, you know, I've been working harder since I retired. Oh, just as hard. Isn't that ironic? Yeah. Yeah. So This all starts when we've been over this before, but we're going to go over it again. This starts when you're how old when you meet Dick beyond 13 and you have known him ever since. Yes, I have and that kinship or devotion? Or love or whatever you want to call it. Our friendship. Just understand. Really, Um You know what? Dick touched my life in such a way Profound way when I was 13 because I was one of those kids. That was sort of law whole, You know, I mean, he seemed to attract those kids. I heard but I hate to admit it, but I was one of them. And, um, when Dick when I met Dick, I he was actually the number one just shocking in America Back in 1961. I didn't realize that of course, until many years later when I was researching, but You know, he was the biggest thing and I was so thrilled to meet him because I never missed to show up the huge fan. And when I did meet him, I was expecting him to be just, you know, maybe have an eagle, you know? No, no, no. The night sky I ever met. He was so kind and I I couldn't get over. He doesn't even have any fat on him. Let alone an ego. You're right. Oh, so This. Project. And let me say That And I think I got a bit of a credibility. Bit of credibility when it comes to this. In the history of rock n roll disc jockeys. There are some very famous names. However, none of them did what dick beyond he did. The B and E in the fifties. Went to The South. And Romney and went on the air and played at the time. R and B music, soul music and that it was not that was never done. Until he did it and I'm on a pop station, so to speak. And he has been around Since day one of rock and Roll Day one. Okay. I mean, we're talking Elvis, the stones, The Beatles, all of it. Frankie Valli and He's still with us. So His story. I think it's like, just Unbelievably unique. And You've been working on this for seven years. And this is it. When is this September 19th? Right. This is that's the big day. Yeah, well, hardly a big birthday bash for Dick. He's training 89 in September, and we're having run on that, you know who owns the Our College theater at the Saint Charles. Oh, yeah. Been so great offering up the theater to us and helping and putting this show together. That's just phenomenal. I mean, you name it, the guys that are there. I mean, this is like a throwback to the fifties or sixties where they had a whole bunch of people on one bill. You know, I mean, we've got you know Felix Cavaliere on the rascals. We've got the eyes of months of Buckingham's in Newtown 36 General Science from the share of the night. I mean hot rocks are tribute band Rolling Stones, tribute band Rosie and the Riveters. Merrill Perkins, legendary blues drummer. We've got all these people. I hope I didn't miss anybody. You didn't on my sheet. You didn't miss any. That was the cave dwellers, the cave doors. You know, I got to say I'm not going to be able to make it and I'm very disappointed. I had never seen Felix Cavallari. And the rascals and the young rascals were absolutely One of my favorite bands till this day. Uh, yeah, I would just love to be able to see him in person. But small. I'm looking forward to it. Maybe some other time. Maybe some other time. So if somebody what about tickets? Let's get down to the breast. Yes. What about tickets? Right. Look, it's available right now. And you know this is coming up in two weeks or so. So we are hoping to sell out the theater because all a proceeds Have been donated to our film to finish this documentary. Pretty incredible. All these bands are performing just to help us. I mean, it's just amazing. You know this? This shows you how much they care about Dick beyond radically so tickets are available on the R Qaeda website. Um, and actually, for people that are friends of the dick beyond the foam or want to go on our website. There's a there's a link right there. There's a big button there get tickets stick beyond.

Not like it's not a name. It's not rock roll with this, You know. What did I say? On a commercial break? I said very Manilow really carried the torch for the Great American songbook was his material. I mean, those songs have become standards so good. So I said sure set up two additional So I go home back to, you know, take it after sessions getting audition get called. Back up to L. "Hey you know what guys Robert welcome to the show great DeBeers them we're going to see ranking ranking and that I got a so so I was I'm doing Mike Huckabee show you know because the guys that great show on TV and right on the Trinity broadcasting network February thirteenth I'm gonna national do that so and I I I could only make the thirteen because I've been so busy but I think the week before that he Felix cavaliere yeah the show how hip is that any given Jersey appeals Cavalli record headed the young rascals Anne I genius musician and I as the vans and they'll tell you that now I'm telling you what's items so upset I'm I'm very excited to be with the with the governor down their national but wanted to meet the Felix cavaliere again and just maybe give it would have been able to jam with them but we'll get it next time Hey I love Rick thank you so so assembly may be doing a great job in the assembly yeah every time I talk to my friend John Brown may I say Robert are doing a great job you did great job now you're a glutton for punishment because you go run for god yeah yeah well you know I'm I'm taking a look at it I I was mentioning to you we had a deadline that we had to meet our for the Bergen county convention so I sent a letter to the chairman and and expressed my interest in it and we're we're doing some of the the rudimentary things to see if it's a possibility if we can get a clear path to to win win the election the most important thing to me however is not so much that I am the congressman but that a Republican becomes a congressman in that district a lot of good people running and if I see that someone else has a better opportunity than I do well then I'm gonna I'm gonna wind up support him because the overall message here is that we need to get the current occupant out because he voted against president trump and voted for impeachment which he was so happy you know Josh is a friend of the show news on and and and we I will be honest with you we like Josh god I'm ready to he's a good guy I was so surprised that he would vote for the impeachment inquiry because he doesn't the impeachment itself I mean because he doesn't seem to be like he goes along with the the the you know the the the rhetoric of of a Nancy Pelosi but I guess they can only everybody down there on the democratic side huh but did Nike Cheryl to she voted for yes she voted for what's with these are independent is supposed to be independent and president trump has done so much for the military she uses the military is one of the yeah yeah into this whole marquis of her her campaign your and then she votes against the guy who's helping the military I I don't get it you know it's in the same thing with Josh I mean he he's in there and in our three district he he knows that there's a lot of Republicans in the district and he votes to appreciate he could have a stained I mean look at John F. woman gambit she she she just serve present right should involve memory right on that yeah yeah I mean he's what's happening is that there are so many extreme left Democrats that are in the district that are are putting his feet to the fire saying you've got to do this you got to do this and he acquiesced to them but he he has forgotten where where he resided she resides in an artery districts are made he may have a problem this time despite the fact that he's got seven point one million dollars in the bank cash waiting to go for this campaign some believe has a strong campaign money comes from where do we know that money are what all his money comes from out of state for the most part yeah is it because that's gonna hold on to the house I was looking at yeah right I was looking at the contribution reports for all of the prospective candidates Republicans and and that and Josh yeah and and actually Josh's got a primary to with a councilman from Glen rock she's got about a hundred fifty thousand dollars I don't think that's going to go anywhere but most of the Republicans have put their own money I mean my because ours report and nine hundred thousand dollars but six hundred thousand of it is his own money sorry he's really got skin in the game Frank Pallotta this is less than that maybe five hundred he's got two hundred fifty thousand of his own money so they've been working to fundraise and they've been putting their own money and so they they really wanted John McCain's a little bit less but he's he's out there doing it so but just kind of timer he's got seven point one million dollars you know how much of his own money he's got in there what would that be zip though none zero it is again not all over the country and again that does so much yet go after Josh if they have the Democrats just want to take over as the taking over the house of representatives and look what happened look what they can't even get the election and I with them straight these guys have become they're in they have a very slim majority right now if they get a large majority thing yeah some got time is going to be is moderate or supposedly moderate as he is now he's gonna move further total so up to talk to Josh next time he comes on the show what would he do whatever have you assembling and what do you are you a gift it's actually in legally or you have to make I have to file the paperwork and and we've got that in the office now we're working on that and I have put together small came to start the preliminary process and if we see that the path is clear to go for we're going to take a crack at it if we see that it's not then we'll we'll acquiesce to the one we think they can win and will work to help them and we just really need to get that seat back and we really need to give president trump a majority he's done so many good things having the obstructionists yeah house of representatives working against them yeah imagine if you had Republican house in a Republican Senate get so many things on yeah yeah you know so would you have a petition for the present that would like to sign yeah it was what was what was the former president trump was have running into some interference with our our friends in New Jersey what a surprise so we I mean this was shocking I'm is our gaming going on even though you were down there while yeah where was great have you in your political career seen anything like that before it was a lecture the a and I as I am if you drive a week of fan and that any Die Hard run over your face you got to meet him yeah lately just that such a an imprint on my my political outlet the model Reagan did and I saw how people reacted to it I've never seen anything like I saw what I saw why would last week absolute president awesome absolutely awesome I'm gonna show you something you got a kick out of this while we're talking okay we see we see I was sitting right behind the present here you'll see you'll see on any live with it a I'm not so let's see here is there are you all you got your right directly yeah yeah right that is great it was right he was he was hot stuff and so the petition is for one this is for president trump yes a thousand signatures New Jersey so Margaret to essentially who's outside and and I have we committed to help the American county chairman Jack sees a and we're gonna get maybe ten or twenty thousand signatures just out of burden cat what does that do it allows the president and he can get on the ballot in New Jersey but he might not be on the ballot in New Jersey that we can we've already taken care of it yeah yeah so we just want to give it to him in spades in a again the Fisher outside that made a seven thirty eight would join the ready Robert assemblyman assemblyman all doing a great job now he's going up against the Josh in the fifth the district for United States Congress which are the best man thank you and Margaret we love it you know we appreciate it very much thank for you do over the great state take this coupon the morning and we're gonna take a break right now for the news live in local with Frankie run away he on him at seventy the answer.

it was exciting especially with all the wonderful music that was around you know from England of Beatles and stones and all that it was a very exciting time to be alive did you ever get any trouble on the road there Felix are you kidding your behavior under a Felix you're under oath I want everybody Jeff I did however I won't go into they got into trouble Felix cavaliere is Russell sorry I was the oldest I was the oldest one's gonna hurt on the your good health okay you the chaperone you had a check up and Felix cavaliere is rascals Hey did you ever meet the Beatles in your travels absolutely yeah yes your short yes I did I did go to tie our manager was the person who brought them to America she birds yeah very well done okay I toured with Ringo and you know it was a very interesting tighter well as I say you guys were something else as people as musicians are really really very interesting people short films at one point you were working on a book on your career is that still in the works yeah I was just trying to get it out into the public now we're we're just about done I keep reading chapters because things are getting better and better how about that is amazing I mean you're not a youngster anymore Phyllis I might want to remind you that but that's pretty cool wait a second Hey when you came up in the business because as you know the music business is change profoundly did all the the big record moguls and the people who ran the the labels did they really have all the power over you guys were you able to Jeff Healey were cheated by any these big guys well maybe that's a that's a very very interesting question to what happens basically is like when you get a number one record most of the powers he yeah understand are you got you got to say right and and you know what but people came along like a a Billy Joel and you know people that al Qaeda cells before they changed everything because all of a sudden you know all the details when I get a dog now do you know what I'm saying it became very difficult in our days it was it was kind of new you know for any group to go out there and make any kind of that you know money and power other than Elvis you know and course the Beatles yeah it was kinda new soul yeah yeah I mean as far as the other question who knows because what they took bill welcome to it that's how I feel general is good for you Felix just before you were connected with you I was telling the audience that I remember back in the day going to Jones beach to be thousands of people there and your song we plan everybody's radio on the big music station and this that.

going to be in on this well then we'll be Tom Jones I don't know okay this one it's I want to find out it may be their farewell tour the first one what I am but it is not the original lead singer is now the Doobie brothers now is the Michael McDonald version well there you go I keep forgetting a minute yeah Michael McDonald was not the original no no I didn't keep troop I heard that the only thing that I hate trump's on no he just he really cannot stand again really yeah got that from a I'm really surprised I anyway so many musicians love again I'm out Tom Johnson and then thing he was originally leasing heated funky muezzin hated China Grove yeah all the hits you sexy whatever that one yeah yeah okay S. in well oops sorry Sir Michael McDonald came in and and the band yeah yeah well what I'm trying to think where the band thing they went battle ballad crazy when he joined how did they go crazy yeah they really did all right let's and do be brothers hits on them I prefer the old well I do too but I mean I mean he had some good with it I mean Michael McCann into streets was one now that was pretty all right what a fool believes okay that was Michael ago okay now let me give you some listen to the music was time John yes okay I like them better like water times that was good the great long train running time just not on a road on John now the great thing the betting on was there happy animal and and and Randy Bachman we're all in the studio together already Felix came back then yeah and so they ask what's wrong that they if you don't want to jam on one and of course no one came up with them with the suggestion that I said I'm a Beatles song so they did don't let me down one is so cool very nice to have it on tape well I got burned up my car you have a leery on and I guess still got it on tape gear you know he's a nice guy running the keyboard and did the good love and all that stuff with the deal with the rest and he also had a great story about the Beatles at Shea Stadium these if you ever watch the film you'll see Brian Epstein look up sky word and he said the reason we he did that was that the rascals got a whole via of the that's when I trying to say the I give up what were they were they announce the Beatles like where they have going all the marking the marquee yeah and he said we put the rascal they don't call in Milan schools for nothing
