I think most scientists for a long time assumed that the most important thing that human brain does is think because thinking is something that humans are very very proud of and people assume that in brain evolution that there was this striving towards more and more and more complexity with the human brain at the very top so of course the thing that we value ourselves thinking in rationality at least in the west. Don't just react stuff that's happening in the world we're selecting would signal in. What is noise. What's the most expensive thing that you can do that you can spend on. It's either moving your body or learning something new especially when things are uncertain and so if your body budget is running a deficit you're not gonna spend as much and so you will be comfortably in a silo because it's more metabolic expedient for you and it will feel more comfortable that's why imparted feels more comfortable. So there's a superficial answer but there's also sort of a deeper answer that relates more to the larger culture that we live then. We have to design a cultural context bankrupt. A body budget would be the one that we live in.

"feldman" Discussed on The Solid Verbal: Living College Football
"Can i tie this all together. To our guest. Bruce feldman and the ufo show excuse me the unbeatable feldman orbit the unbeatable feldman orbit. I'm going to focus on the name. Bruce because sometimes you come across people and people's lives and this is all from wikipedia. This is. I did not do further research than a cursory scan of wikipedia and my jaw. Dropped okay bruce. Mccandless mc l. e. s. okay. I'm pulling this up. Go ahead continues. Mccandless completed the first untethered spacewalk using the manned maneuvering unit that giant sort of rectangular boxy backpack looking thing the rocket the rocket back. Okay the rocket backpack so untethered not connected to the space shuttle. He did the first one. The first untethered mu tie it goes without saying ballsy lot of there. If you slip on the joystick that's an issue through space and hope for the best so bruce mccandless from southern california goes to stanford gets his electrical engineering degree gets an mba joins. The navy is aboard aboard multiple ships during the cuban missile crisis. Fly planes. i think it was aircraft carriers. Yeah looks like he was aboard. Aircraft carriers during the cuban missile prices went to nasa was the mission control capsule communicator on the apollo eleven mission. So he's communicating with buzz aldrin and neil armstrong during launch and during the first moonwalk. Okay then he gets involved in skylab he's like he takes point he logged eventually became and this was like declassified that he became space shuttle pilot he logged over three hundred twelve hours in space. The m time four hours four hours he was a mission specialist on forty one thirty one whatever he deployed satellites. He was all over the place. I actually did check. He worked for lockheed martin after he retired from. Nasa actually passed away three years ago and across the board. People like yeah. This dude lived life. Yeah this dude lived a life. He graduated from his navy graduating class. Or whatever the naval academy which she also received a bachelor of science from he was in john mccain's graduating class so some big names in that class. It seems and this. This was the the after the postscript. I guess as it were on. September thirtieth twenty ten mccandless launched a lawsuit against british singer daito for unauthorized use of a photo of his nineteen eighty-four spaceflight for the album art of her two thousand album safe trip home which showed mccandless quote free flying about three hundred and twenty feet away from the space shuttle challenger. My they settled everything amicably. What i'm what. I'm reading here but that is a life tie. I have many thoughts on this. The first the first thing that comes to mind is that he is sort of like the space programs version of forrest. Gump where he just shows up. I was gonna say the sky the dose guy but forrest gump thicket of those scenes where he just sort of like wanders into the background of famous events and whatnot but secondly as foreground to be secondly good hell what a life. Yeah life. Bruce mccandless just stumble upon these things. You're like holy hell. This guy was all over from long beach. Southern california guy. Well look fun. Show weird way to end it but always informative on the show. We would encourage everybody.
"feldman" Discussed on The Solid Verbal: Living College Football
"They sort of have an up and down season. They look absolutely dreadful against utah but they have a high around talent and brandon. I you g- leave for the nfl. So they're developing guys. They have interesting young talent. They've been recruiting. Interestingly are you as high on asu as it seems many are who look at the depth. I guess atop the conference. I'm pretty high on them. Maybe as high. But i really liked jaden daniels remember. He played last year or one of the guys who their stats. He was like one hundred and sixty five pounds. Now he's off eighty eighty five I think you will only get better now. Look you're right. They lost a terrific receiver. And i lost a really good running. Back know benjamin And i'm curious how they replacing on that On that front. I mean right now i i would pick them second in the south I'm very interested to see how marvin lewis is the defensive coordinator now and how that defense looks But there are an interesting team. And i have to admit i did not think would have done this of job a head coach there and has done a really good job herm edwards mack brown. The are an herm. hasn't you know his. He's had some nice wins. His record hasn't been much different than todd. Grams was but i didn't think it would go this well. I didn't like you didn't ask me this. But i didn't think mac would do as well as he has done so far. Us journey obviously out of the terrific quarterback to build around. I think those were one that have been pleasant surprises And i say pleasant surprises. Not just because you know. I think there are two personality types. Herm is an interesting guy. And i think he makes the pac twelve a little more interesting and so Let's see what they do in your three. Because it's i think a lot of people now as you age alluded to are in that. Like hey. We have some expectations now. Let's see what happens. Final question just because you reference being on the sidelines. For seeing major programs major schools in big games who in the pac twelve when you are on the sideline or when you are a practice. And i know obviously been a different year this year but when you look at the programs in the pac twelve who can either compete nationally or look like they have a ceiling of competing nationally. How far away is the conference as a whole from. I don't know the the best five teams in the conference stacking up against the best five in the big twelve. The acc or the sec or the big ten. Is there a chasm as some people like to to say or is it closer than you believe that the the warriors seemed to think i think oregon is that team off. I mean they. There's a remember william play host. Yes short offensive lineman at at alabama as a coach and so i saw him We did I think it was a friday that game colorado against oregon oxen and horses on the cu staff. And you know he was there mull talker. And he's you know like he's he's got good perspective and everything. And obviously new mario cristobal and i remember i talked to him on the pre game. And you eyeballed oregon. It was like that. Looks like an sec team. And he's right they do and obviously it. You know when you play on a bunch of you know more experienced the linemen like they did that added to it. But now you're gonna have these these huge linebacker dudes that have come into the program brother You know may schooner. Was there last year the freshman and you certainly add justin flow. Looks like a looks like a comic book. Hero thing That definitely does that Usc i think needs to continue to ramp up recruiting but they have you know like i said there. They have a receiver core that matches up. Pretty well with anybody. They have a bunch of guys like. Do you know the thing with. Usc is a little bit of a misread is like i remember going out there last year spring and seeing their linebacker group. And it's not just not okay. Oh tate who is obviously a huge or crew but there was a couple other guys who were like. I mean a couple of those guys looked like american. Gladiator guys Now they don't they didn't play like you know one or two more injured. And so sometimes with usc it's like you know you know about them in recruiting and then either the heard or just. There's something just isn't quite there I think what's different with. Usc is they had for so long. They had some special running back there. Now be reggie bush or even lyndale white but right now you don't see marquee stuff talent and they have guys who are steven carr have talent. But it's not like the one who's there who's like the wow factor right and right so to me. Those are the programs at this point that that you could say. Oh if they if this breaks right or whatever like i think given all the stuff. We talked about the change with oregon new quarterback new. Oh line no more. No more japan holland. I think that separates them from. Probably you know maybe are a year away from being that team. You know i don't know But i think the way. Mario has recruited there It's it's an. Sec is an. It's an sec vibe. All the way. Around with oregon. And i think. There's some of that happening at usc at this point to all right bruce feldman sec vibe around ties. It really nicely back together to flip the script. Do check it out. Doors ron about lsu about george costanza roundabout way. Look it up pick it up digested you will like it. I promise you bruce. Thank you so much for coming on. The solid verbal always a pleasure. Dan thank you for happening. All right danny. That is bruce. Feldman bruce feldman yeah farms the athletic author of the new book. Really interesting stuff from bruce. It always is but you know he. The books that he's written in the past have been groundbreaking in college football since meat market. Right me one of the best books. I've ever read period. It just so happens to be about college football and so it's always a pleasure when he dropped something new and i'm really excited to get chancery haven't yet but soon. Yeah no my copy is arriving shortly. I m my favorite thing that bruce talked about in that interview. And this is the stuff that when you read pieces Throughout the season it's hard for for guys to really extrapolate what's going on behind the scenes because everybody's interested in games everybody's interested in all man. What why did lsu score so many points blabbity blah so when you have the time to write out books. Look at your notes and listen to your tapes or whatever when bruce's talking about lsu spring practice last year with joe burrow actively starting fights with joe burrow. Saying i don't want max protect. We need to get receivers on the field. I'll figure it out with joe burrow absolutely torching a very very good lsu. I defense in spring practice and them having a sense like oh we might have like a team of killers here and then having the sense behind the scenes that maybe they're not a national championship team but also. This is a serious playoff contender and knowing that from early on that something was different with the makeup of that that program last year. It's fascinating stuff to know it. That sort of lead. The lead lead time to the season. You're like well. We're gonna f up some teams tied. I like that. That's those are the type of antidotes. I love yeah anecdotes. Post will make sure that we post the link so that you can check out. Bruce's book you know. Any in all bruce feldman works over at the athletic as well. We're huge fans. He was one of our earliest guests on the show way back when as always been so gracious with his time and he's a friend of the show so it's great to catch up with him once more. Gimme some elements of the pack twelve season. I don't necessarily need specific ups but when you think about where the pac twelve was last year team by team. New faces faces gone faces returning whatever i just want some like straight out of the arrows out of the quiver gun out of the holster tied takes on. What will make him. Turn it from an intriguing. Sec game intriguing. Big ten game to an intriguing. Pac twelve game. What what are you hoping to see from teams. That will make you turn the dial. Well the usc the usc stuff is probably the low hanging fruit here but okay the intrigue around clay helton and what his life span will be at usc as is always interesting to me if not by the way for the trojans it is it is yeah so i i qualify that by saying interesting if not cliche and while keyed in slovaks had an incredible year last year really burst onto the scene in an impressive way and given the schedule given the fact there is always good skill position talent at usc if they could just get all cylinders firing at the same time. I would love to what that team could do. They have not done that. Inconsistency has been a real problem for the trojans over the last. I don't know.

Trump and Biden debate their climate and environmental policies
"A lot at Thursday's debate. There was this telling exchange about climate change. Would you close the have a transition from their own industry? Yes. It is a big statement, President Trump again boosted the fossil fuel industries contributing to global warming. Joe Biden is campaigning on a plan for Net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. NPR's Jeff Brady has more on his $2 trillion proposal. Joe Biden's climate plan is ambitious for an economy is big and complex as the United States, but even those connected to fossil fuel industry say it may be doable. Scott Siegal with the energy focused law firm. Bracewell says the plan is pragmatic and includes both regulations and incentives for the growing list of companies focused on using cleaner energy in the future. One thing that makes Biden's approach somewhat comfortable is that you can sketch out that linear commitment to additional resource is to achieve these objectives, which I think most people in business, believe me. Are going to be the future anyway. The country has one example of meeting an ambitious climate goal. The Obama administration's clean power plan aimed to cut emissions from power plants, about a third by 2030. Even though court challenges stopped the plan from going into effect, the country is ahead of schedule. David Doniger is with NRDC Action Fund, The political arm of the natural resource is defense counsel. The power sector is already undergoing changes that have reduced their emissions by more than 30% 10 years ahead of the target that the Obama administration thought was aggressive. In 2015, a big part of that was the collapse of the coal industry. Coal fired power plants continue to go out of business, replaced with cheaper natural gas and renewable energy. Still, the bite and climate plan faces significant hurdles. It relies on technologies that haven't been developed or may not be commercially viable. That's why the plan includes $400 billion over a decade for research. With the economic hit from the Corona virus pandemic. Biden's campaign updated the plan this summer. It includes billions of dollars to hire people for things like plugging abandoned mines and building electric vehicle charging stations. Steph Feldman, with the bite and campaign says the plan also focuses on environmental justice. 40% of the benefit of those investments go to community, the color and low income communities that have been disproportionately harmed by pollution and the effects of climate change. Breaking Down Joe Biden's Plan To Make The U.S. Carbon Neutral
"At Thursday's debate, there was this telling exchange about climate change. Would you close the? Transition from oil minister yes. I was trying to. It is a big statement president trump again boosted the fossil fuel industries contributing to global warming. Joe. Biden is campaigning on a plan for net zero greenhouse gas emissions by twenty fifty and peers. Jeff Brady has more on his two trillion dollar proposal Joe Biden's climate plan is ambitious for an economy as big and complex as the United States but even those connected to fossil fuel industry. Say it. May Be Doable Scott Siegel with the energy focused law firm Bracewell says plan is pragmatic and includes both regulations and incentives for the growing list of companies focused on using cleaner energy in the future one thing that makes Biden's approach somewhat comfortable is that you can sketch out that linear commitment to additional resources to achieve these objectives which I think most people in business believe are going to be. The future anyway, the country has one example of meeting an ambitious climate goal. The Obama Administration's clean power plan aimed to cut emissions from power plants about a third by twenty thirty even though court challenges stopped the plan from going into effect, the country is ahead of schedule David. Doniger. IS WITH NRDC Action Fund the political arm of the Natural Resources Defense Council, the power sector is already undergoing. Changes have reduced their emissions by more than thirty percent ten years ahead of the target that the Obama Administration thought was aggressive in two thousand fifteen. A big part of that was the collapse of the coal industry coal fired power plants continue to go out of business replaced with cheaper natural gas and renewable energy. Still, the Biden, climate plan faces significant hurdles it relies on technologies that haven't been. Developed or may not be commercially viable. That's why the plan includes four hundred billion dollars over a decade for research with the economic hit from the coronavirus pandemic Biden's campaign updated the plan this summer it includes billions of dollars to hire people for things like plugging abandoned mines and building electric vehicle charging stations. Steph Feldman with the Biden campaign says, the plan also focuses on environmental justice forty percent. Of the benefits of those investments, go to communities of color and low income communities that have been disproportionately harmed by pollution and the exit climate change. This is especially important to the most vocal climate change activists while Biden has distanced himself from the green new deal. New York district to kick out 2 remote-learning students taking classes from out-of-state
"Students sign into a virtual classroom from outside the school district Wide W. Legal correspondent Jamie Feldman with the answer a dad who decided during the pandemic to rent out his family's New York home while he and his kids stated a vacation rental in Missouri got an unwelcome surprise when the New York school district in which his kids enrolled Emailed to tell him that because the family isn't living in the district, his kids who are learning virtually while schools there are on a hybrid schedule are no longer entitled to enrollment. School districts, particularly those with high performing schools, strictly enforced residency requirements to ensure only those who live in the district have the benefit of the thousands of dollars per student the district spends educating the Children. The virtual learning makes it more difficult for districts to enforce those requirements. And there are those like the New York Dad who questioned whether they should. We're about to see how many school districts follow suit and may learn lessons about what district residency requirements mean during a time when we're not face to face from the judge group, Maybe Feldman for KOW,

Neal Kelly, he tells cat can x, it's illegal. This is blind, right? It could be either party. Any contest any candidate. The bottom line is we all need to follow the rules. And I think that's important across the board. As we head into the final days, there have been reports of other unauthorized boxes in L. A and Fresno counties as well as Theo see pretty clear. I mean, I have used the analogy would be like me going out on the street corner and installing mailboxes. I mean, that's you know, left the purview of the post office, so I think again. Like I said, we got our message out there pretty clear, the secretary of State's office says setting up the boxes is a felony and carries a possible prison sentence of 2 to 4 years. Kelly tells us he expects Republicans to stop the practice very quickly. Now that they have been warned about it.

What if Kinda conversation while? I don't know what the fall will look like. We have to be open and honest about that reality. We may not know what the late fall. Looks like or what next spring looks like? And that's where I think. Some of the ideas about delay are actually operating from the same lack of information that we observe being president here if we don't play a sport or multiple sports in the fall or the financial implications absolutely absolutely What are those look like? Well it depends on on how the the pandemic in the Public Health Realities cloud around That that that decision making process and so it's I think all of us are going through this scenario. Planning I described which says okay. Some level of of normal and we'RE GONNA have efficiencies have been introduced because that's a responsibility and then what if there is partial disruption or complete disruption? I'm not the one researching the reliability of but I think is is we've seen again over the last sixty seventy days particular over the last thirty days. The availability of testing has increased. The methodology around testing has expanded. And I think we'll see the reliability which has been appointed a concern. Be More and more accurate as you move into through the summer the NCAA has declined issue any specific uniform procedure so we have variations between schools variation between conferences. Would it be more helpful for you guys at the conference level if the NCAA had some stronger guidelines or you could ensure that not only was being being done properly but uniformly across the country the ANC is not alone in not being national PRESCRIBER OF PROTOCOLS? We've seen that from governments At the federal level states and locales having different expectations and standards. So what I I think the. Ncaa has done is actually acknowledged that reality. I think that's an important anchor in this conversation as we go through the summer and continue to talk among conference commissioners. My expectations will be more and more common expectations Is We go back and think about testing availability and reliability? That will inform decision making and were in a circumstance where we do have time to make some determinations we get see the continuing expansion of testing the the enhancement of reliability. But we have a really good guest today to fill in for STU and he is Neil Brown. The head coach at West Virginia who is a very thoughtful coach on a lot of subjects. Reuss thinks rabbit always always a pleasure. Yeah I thought it'd be fun stews on vacation this week or at least he's on home vacation and Thank you I thought we'd have. Yeah Yeah I mean whatever it is to kind of kind of I guess Decompress for a minute. So let's start there like so. Obviously you're working but it's a different environment. What is the last couple of months? Been like for you. Zoom Zoom of Now just you know. Trying to try to manage people remotely. It's been unique. It's a it's been challenging. I think I've grown a lot of ways grown a lot of ways But has been different. I think that's that's a simple word. But it's the best. Buy The best word I can. Use a scribe it. It's it's been different so when you're in the middle of this and you're obviously a leader of a program with a lot of people not just players but staffing people. You report to leg. What has been the hardest thing for you to sort out as you're in. We'RE ALL IN UNCHARTED WATERS. But as a football coach certainly are too. So what's been the hardest thing to kind of figure out Communication has been vital during this. I think there's a fine line between doing enough and then overdoing it and I think that. Walk that fine line at something that we will plan that we that we lay. We've adjusted it as we gone Is really been stood around three verse in the first one from the health and wellness or players in our staff and in one of the main ways that we've done that is to try to have check INS Monday through Friday with our players with its position meetings team meetings Try TO CHECK INS in and really checking on their physical and mental health and those within their family as well. The second thing is just trying to develop routines and schedules. I think those are so important during their in this. Tom Is developing a routine schedule. Because there's so much Literature and so much research don. If you stay on a routine and schedule then you can manage yourself much better in the third thing is just Rhonda. The maintain this culture of accountability. What I mean by that is is coaches. We can't hold them accountable to their workouts. We can hold them accountable. Their position work and things like in academics and things like that position From a meeting standpoint but they really have told each other accountable for working out and staying shape so those are the three things health wellness routine schedule and a culture accountability. That's been are really focused during this entire Levin weeks that we've been in quarantine now I've talked to some coaches not just head coaches but assistance in. They said you know for them. Some of them have watch more. Tv News than they probably ever have. Because there's been a lot more downtime. It's not to say that there hasn't been a lot of busy work but also the routine is different. Has there been some things that you have found that you've either got into but just have been Things that have kind of something you've started to think about a lot more away from football. That is something that you know. We're GONNA pandemic and you're just kind of thinking it. It just takes a different place mentally as that's something you've found from your own perspective. Yeah at the. I think that's a really good view. Is it it? Takes a lot of different things into consideration In so I think there has to be a good mix of. It can't be all work right now. You know I think that I pose this question to our staff and our players. It is when we look back on this outside the tragedy of this that this is in the people that have lost their lives in the people that are lost their livelihoods and the people that have got sick. After that. Like how do you? How are you going to remember this time in your life? Is it a point of growth for you or as an excuse for you in so we really tried to myself? Included really tried to make it a point of growth at probably watched More actual football film then. I ever have during this time of year. Because I've had the ability to do that of I probably had more conversations with recruits more in depth conversation with recruits than their parents. Then I ever have due to the restrictions that were under because they can't come in to the facility are on.

You know if they're going to go away it's just a lie you ever very powerful energy and it's interesting to hear all of this. James who world in a positive way. No it's amazing and hopefully so with this documentary you name names do think these people are still actively doing this stuff. Absolutely the thing about. Pedophilia is it's disease so it's not something that you just do once it's something that's an addiction isn't giving unstop Harvey Weinstein and all that absolute probably well. I mean Harvey Weinstein. I mean that took a lot of years. But he's right he's going to is the one of the people that I'm naming isn't even fulltime vile like he's abused lots of people related holy and our mainstream mainstream names that people will recognize at least one of them. I so now it's gonNA open up an investigation. Basically all name these names that open up some sort of showed pray for is that other victims find the strength to come forward other victims of the same abusers because once we put the names out there all it takes as we saw with Harvey Weinstein which thank God was just arrested and put into jail yesterday. I'm hoping yeah same thing that when we say the name out loud it gives people the strength to go. Okay now. It's out there all I can do it so what I'm hoping is. There is the floodgate opened because I know there is a long list of people that have been abused by this person. So I'm really hoping they find the courage to come forward to speak their truth. And then there's an indictment created and this person goes to jail but a Muslim all of them go to jail because out of the six names were naming only one. That's dead all the rest of them are alive and thriving. I feel like I know exactly who the mainstream wasn't and we want to stay up. I just I know exactly what you're saying. This is like giving me Chelsea so many people that I like been guys girls like trans everything. So that's why I was like. Oh like when you're saying like giving me okay so that would hit me when you were saying that and I'm just like Holy Shit. I know someone who has phrase that just don't say it because it's like because we're so scared because this person so crazy and known for being so crazy. Shit. I would be scared. I'm scared for you. Then you can put in each of your email families email addresses pay. Us EPA twenty dollars for each one of them and we would be so grateful so interesting. Because it's a it's a film you'd find yourself so it's very common to have a go on me or something like that to to raise money when I do something every how this army of people that they've created against me that's only there to bad mouth me and make me look bad. Goes out there and every post every post that I do. They jump on my post and they go. He's such a money hungry bastard. He's only doing this to get rich. This is just another scheme. He's not even gonNA say any names. You shouldn't trust this guy. He's a guy who was prostituting women. He's a drug dealer. He's this he's that that's what they say about me. "Please ask one nine. Yeah reporting is they think it is know changing my Wendy Williams. At first I was trying to young like Anna Nicole. Now I'm like when you check out. There was probably thirty thirty year old grades angels. Of course no one over thirty absolutely at all those girls were twenty them me. There was no thirty year old. Boys Angel Tibet. Promise you do you know that. I'm not going to see anybody by name because I am turned into venom. Vixen girls yes network that and he didn't save them saves her. Yeah how did you? How did you make it through the Kayak? How did you become the last ending because you know what happened when she was a real person? Shot a soul using you firm. It's weird it's ironic that you're not because you set it up to be like. Hey this is the deal. I'm GonNa like you can use me. I'm GONNA use you and that's it. That was kind of a mutual benefit. Shell relationship and official. Ya Not using that saying I'm here for you and you're here for me and we have a beautiful love in. That's beautiful that's how it started but when it came a business there wasn't nothing mutual about it. It was me doing everything I could to promote them to help them to build them and you wearing. I wouldn't mind now. I would only benefit from it if we collectively became successful but the band and those guys were getting paid guy and you were in the band you play guitar. I play piano and I D J and I sing. Oh my gosh okay. Do you still do that now. A little bit. Yeah Okay but when we go back on tour it won't be an angel tour. But she's still be in the band. Yeah Linda I love that. That's John and Yoko or something like that Paul. Linda's very cute. I like that again because Yoga.

"Tricia paid US and today. We are joined by Corey Feldman and his lovely wife court so much for having us in your pink nece exciting High Pink with very honored to have you here. We've already been talking for like a good. Lordy my favorite wings and artwork around my House. Just me and so people are like. That's a little weird pictures around the house of me too. Okay so I have like this wall of Shame. I call it but that was like me with all these like legendary people. So it's kind of the the duality wall of shame when it's really people that you'd kind of be bragging about but like Robert Deniro and alkyl Jackson. Paul McCartney like the biggest. Yeah okay I would have to like. I think my biggest one is Michael. Keaton in my house. I framed that he is a big deal. Jeff a whole beetlejuice room so that was like Peta me but that's really cool. I really showed about man and I got to see him. Actually in his Batman suit says how your friend No. I met him that day but I was there. Why was there? I don't remember somebody was working on it like because it was well Tim. Burton was directing that one or was it Joel Schumacher. I don't know. Obviously I did. The Joel Schumacher won. But he branded Michael Kim timber so I don't remember exactly why I was on this. I don't think it was shooting a shooting something myself on the same lot and so I had heard that they were shooting the second Batman and I was like where I need to go right. Now is a yeah. Yeah always there on that. They were doing like a scene where it was him in cat-woman fighting on the rooftops on a rooftop and it was a part where he literally goes. You were like a teenager. Eighty nine thousand nine. Yeah that's crazy. Okay so Corey Feldman by the way you might be most like legit person. So far I've had on the PODCAST. We'll start at the most. We started in October and we have a lot of amazing people. I think we had well. We have one actor David who is really great but like you. He's amazing I've known him since eighteen talking about people. I've known him since I was eighteen. I've known you know Korean but when a team that's well it's an interesting start by trouble because people call it exploitative when I talk about I'm just a nice way non-exploitative if you talk about a friendship. Yeah I guess I guess because our friendship wasn't always the greatest. It wasn't necessarily a friendship. It was more like a giant sham. Consider I'd say part of my story as you know it never talk shit and the end of the day. Everybody knows he did a lot of drugs and you know what so why. I mean like we've all done a lot of drugs at some point in our lives right like I mean not. Everybody obviously very conservative people out. There have never done anything. I know if you've been raised in this craziness and you're brought up in this world. You know the pressures are intense and immense and there's at some point somebody going to offer you something and at some point when you're a kid who's been kept in a cage most of your life who's been locked in a sheltered environment most of your life and then all of a sudden you've got this world of opportunity beset in front of you right. Take advantage of taste. The fruits right. That's what we do. Humans we can't resist so for me. Personally I I was very conservative. Might very conservative. I was raised like abused. You know and like like tortured and abused in that way and like a slave so when it actually got to the point of me getting out on my own I was afraid of everything and I probably would anti-drug campaigns when I was fifteen I had already smoked weed but then I was like all smoke weed because it's natural but I'm not GonNa do any of that other stuff because that's really scary stuff who wants to snort stuff up there not really very much. So wow what timeframe are you on drugs from basically from fifteen and a half until eighteen and a half so it was basically three years short-lived so very short lived. I got it all in really fast. Did my investigations exploratory. The best and then I learned what I needed to learn and then I got the hell out and that's why I'm still here and that's why I still look healthy and good. Yeah all the rumors and all the things that people have tried to stick me like. Oh He's such a party boy. Set an animal to whatever is all lies and rumors of the matter is I was sober at nineteen years old. And he ever could even legally drink okay since one thousand nine hundred nineteen own during the whole whole. This real quick doesn't go back to that but like during the whole Corey's angel things you were completely sober sober. I wasn't drinking. It does seem very hugh. Hefner vary like crazy. The angels started as an offshoot of playboy. That's how that started because basically I had been in eighteen relationships in a row and all of them ended the same. Which was them cheating on? Really I was always a loyal faithful guy. One woman personnel actors loyal. I've never met an actor. That was loyal he is. He's been like the most honest guy I've ever dated in my entire life. I've been inch cheated on and abuse and shit like my whole life. He's like the only one that's with respect and dignity and all. I've always been romance guy. I've always been gentleman. That's the way I was taught. That's the way I was raised right. Okay let me and Michael Jackson got along so well is because he was a gentleman to lake he was very soft spoken. He was very quiet. You know right hands folded. There's just certain things that you learn when you learn respect and how to treat women with respect right. I learned that from both Hefner and Michael. They were both gentlemen. Okay Michael Yeah that. Why am I gonNA have thirteen? Even though he had women posing naked he wasn't he wasn't gross about it. It was classic. Yeah you've been married once retail. Oh Wow okay. There was another white before her. Vanessa Marshall This is Oh my God. This is what I did research on yesterday my whole day.

Yes so my kids. Don't think that I'm actually talking about right. That would be horrible for me to to raise a family and actually use them as fodder right as their fodder might know how you feel about them. Yeah also has really just asking about you right. I just feel it. It's funnier. Funnier to people who I've written for our Steve Martin and Marty Short right and he doesn't really have an Arrow through said that's not real. Dad He does uh It's more fun to lie to the audience. It's more fun because the lies are also revealing Va.. Uh when you are the valley therapist yes it. Using Martin. Short was upset. That Steve Martin did the Academy Awards with Chris. Rock asks the Oscars. Yeah that's an. It's another name that my party was at the Oscars and that didn't go with his real good friend Martin. I think the joke was his previous hosts of the I know but come on. They could've done I well. They're the two funniest people in the World Martin Short and so you mar so where it was marty short. I don't know that's gotTa bug him. I don't think it up. I want an answer by the end of the day. I think they're at a level or nothing. Buxom awesome okay but I think the Oscars proved that. It's good without a house now. They should try without any nominees. which ridiculous realist? Just who died the end singer of the year says I. That's the best part of it. And maybe they get everybody in this time when I arrived everything when I wrote on the Academy Awards I pitched the idea of instead of in Memoriam we do who we wish. They didn't get Eh David. "I'm Stewart Mandel joined as always by Bruce Feldman last week. He was home. And I was on the road this week. We have changed places. Yes. Sorry. It's taken me. So long to get back to you, Stu, but I'm in Baton Rouge. It's been a busy couple of days. I leave here. Tomorrow to go to the Nebraska, we already have a writer, Stu, maybe I shouldn't have gone, but hopefully, I'm going to catch up with our new Nebraska writer mid Sherman, and I have some story to work on. And but I feel like I've been as you know, when you go on the road, basically don't have much time to go on Twitter or on search the internet. So you kind of feel a little bit like you're cut off from the other side of the world. But it's great hit us. Great. You know last week being on the go four different schools. Yeah. You're just not it's it's you just feel more alive than when you're sitting at in front of a computer for eight hours and can't get off Twitter. Because we're the end of the day. If anything's like that big big news, you're gonna get alerted to it in some way. And then you find out that all you're missing by not being glued to Twitter is all the other kind of waste of time stuff. Yes. It's an waste of energy. So it's good to be back on with you and good to be back connected to our audience. What are we talking about today? Still well last week, I gave some observations and ANC does from where I visited so tell us about LSU for you do though I one thing is you went to Oklahoma. And I think that part of the trip didn't happen. I don't think you had gotten there yet when we take the podcast. So you wanna share some details from your visits Norman. Yeah. That was my last stop. You'll probably see a lot of Jalen hurts stories in the next few weeks..

"All right. In the second hour of the show. We are going to be talking to David Feldman, the president of bare knuckle fighting championship, but we still have time to take your calls, and you can tell us a little bit about. Junior Santoro's versus Derek Lewis. And also, there's a real cool main event. A Lizzie no Lizzy. Oh, I don't know allies. The Leschi does santarpio's versus Curtis Melander. These are two great strikers than this event is going to be awesome. And got some breaking news for you you and Josh ready for this one. What's your be tour? Belford says Roy Jones has agreed to a one championship fight. Really? Yeah. Roy don't was just on our channel was talking about how it interests. But even at that point, it seemed like he didn't really know the rules to well. But this is another man that that's what the official announcement. But how about one championship? You know, a few weeks ago, we're seeing how about them PF L guys ESPN look at them months before that bell tower had made an announcement. One championship. You know, they made a splash last year. And they're continuing what the splash return, Belfair. I'll catch me up. If you didn't know. So the Johnson, you know, that already happened to me just Johnson's already over there Eddie hours already over there. But they did sign we should take his VP she'll be leaving Vegas and heading to Singapore soon. And now Vitor Belfort was signed as well. And it looks like Roy Jones junior. You know, there might be some interest in the fight. And that's what we talked about is. It's not official announcement from one championship or Roy Jones. That's what Belford Saint he's saying. Roy Jones junior has agreed to one championship fight. I would watch it. I watched that too. I would watch it. Yeah. Yeah. So that's pretty cool. All right. Let's take this caller here who got got Kevin in Chicago. So Kevin how you doing? What's up? So I just wanna talk about Cody garment real quick. Because a lot of people are saying all we got emotional. You got emotional. He wasn't off his game. But a lot of the reason I'm thinking motion. I think it was desperation is you see page moon, slamming that leg, and it was lead. Like, there's no way he was going to be able to keep keep standing for three rounds. Like that man. I think he was he knew man, I gotta get this guy out of there. I'm not I'm not liking these like kicks. I'm about to go for broke put it on the mind because there's no way I'm about to hang in there while the student trying to chop my leg down. There was my first point. My second point is Woodley and use men a lot of you are so surprised by the victory. Like, oh, my can you believe how bad he looked? And might take was if he doesn't knock him out in the first round it's going to be a long night. And that's that's why that's the way. I saw. I said Woodley puts he likes to put his back against the cage. He likes to rely on his power doesn't have good cardio. He's either gonna knock them out early or. He's going to be in for a long night at the way, he fought. That's my takes which you guys thoughts on that. All right. I one I also thought that if Woodley could knock who's Mont around a little bit with the hands in round one. It would it would definitely help things out because I felt like who's mon- one round one. And that he had the ability to possibly wreck replicate the same type of formula over over five rounds 'cause he's got endless cardio and just great great great pressure game..

"Welcome to the audible. I'm Stewart, Mandel joined as always by Bruce Feldman. I'm in my usual vote here in California, Bruce in south Florida, and I don't know. It sounds like you're can the waves crashing in the background yet. Sounds like that doesn't it? I'd like to say it is, but it's really not. So I spent the day out at FAU sore FOX. They open a lot of people now against Oklahoma, so we spent the day with lane kiffin and his team. So as an interesting interesting out shooting twenty four hour. Did you watch them? I did. Yeah. I watched them practice. We had a weather delay out there from lightning and which is not uncommon thing. I didn't realize it been the first time I'd been out at FAU since Howard Schnell lumber created the program and they are right next to the the local airport. So you have planes landing seemingly every five minutes there. I mean, they are right next to it. So I mean, you see all these small planes and they're just no one. It's bad weather. These small planes are just kinda like rocking back and forth as they make their landings mean it's it's, it takes a minute to get used to that. Let me just ask you real quick about FAU the football team. So obviously they had this tremendous season last year, scorn fifty sixty points on everybody by the end. And if you look at some of the power rankings and efficiency rankings from last season, there's a case to be made that they were actually, you know, actual legit top twenty five team. I've seen them in some early rankings for this. Year top twenty five, but they are still a conference USA team. So when you watch them like, I'm sure Devon single Terry stands out, but you look out in that field and say, oh yeah, this is a regardless conference. They're in. This would be a concerted be like a top twenty five team or we getting a little head ourselves. I think they look like that. I mean, look, they, they don't have the same big bodies across the number of them. But you know, there are two receivers are to lead. You know, top receivers at this point are ju- bond rant who sat out last year's a blazing fast kid who was a four star guy, start his career out at West Virginia and came home..
